- 0:00Speaker 1: Do you really want to leave with these idiots? I'm
- 0:06Speaker 1: afraid so. But I cleansed you of your evil. I
- 0:09Speaker 1: had a little left between my toes. It quickly multiplied
- 0:13Speaker 1: and now I'm a bigger bestard than ever. But I
- 0:15Speaker 1: must know what was it about me that made you try?
- 0:18Speaker 2: Because I've killed so many rich white men, I thought
- 0:21Speaker 2: i'd do right by at least one.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We're not so different. You and I get your skinny
- 0:29Speaker 1: ass out of here. Four finger discounted to this the
- 0:49Speaker 1: podcast where we get curbs on because this is what
- 0:51Speaker 1: we hit to review American History accident.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I'm Dander and I am god. Oh yeah, thanks for
- 0:55Speaker 3: bringing back fond memories of American history. X.
- 0:57Speaker 1: We had to do a score report on that movie.
- 1:00Speaker 1: We have to watch it at school in year ten,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and yeah, it changed me, I imagine.
- 1:05Speaker 3: So this is a movie that has not just probably
- 1:07Speaker 3: the most brutal and vivid curb stomping and you don't
- 1:10Speaker 3: even in actually really see the curb stop here, also
- 1:13Speaker 3: has a bunch of prison rape in it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That's uh wow. Stuff to show the year tens, The Simpsons,
- 1:18Speaker 1: everybody in American History excellent. There's no curb stomping or
- 1:22Speaker 1: a prison rape in this episode. However, No before we
- 1:25Speaker 1: get into our review of this episode, THO, I've got
- 1:27Speaker 1: some news. I'm no longer married to an English girl.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Wait what? No, wait what, I'm married to an English Australian.
- 1:33Speaker 1: She did a citizenship. Oh I think it was Australian. Now, well,
- 1:36Speaker 1: according to the opposition, she's part of the problem, all
- 1:40Speaker 1: the immigrants. Yeah, I knew it was him. Congratulations for
- 1:46Speaker 1: being now part of Australian Yeah's. And she says it felt
- 1:49Speaker 1: weird because nothing really feels different, but now she has to.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's like that she care about she must vote because
- 1:54Speaker 1: in Australia, you must vote. You want to pay the fine.
- 1:56Speaker 1: We get a sausage. Yeah, we get a snag. Yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 1: of course, democracy sausage. She's also now several jobs that
- 2:01Speaker 1: she wanted to go for, but she couldn't go for
- 2:02Speaker 1: them because she wasn't the citizens and jobs and so
- 2:05Speaker 1: you got me take it more of our Australian money. Yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 1: give it a roof over my head, allowing you to.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Keep talking about the Simpsons and other fine progrems.
- 2:16Speaker 1: First things first, this episode a lot better than last week. Correct, Yes,
- 2:19Speaker 1: holy Mully, Oh yeah, if you've listened.
- 2:22Speaker 3: To our episode about the Greatest Story ever old, well,
- 2:25Speaker 3: you'll know that neither Dando nor I were fans.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But American History excellent, look a little better. It's still
- 2:32Speaker 1: it's got its problem. Certainly. I've got here an upgrade
- 2:34Speaker 1: from last week, not saying much a good point. Yes,
- 2:39Speaker 1: anything better than rock Bottom is an improvement, but we're
- 2:43Speaker 1: slightly up for rock Bottom here. The thing is, I've
- 2:45Speaker 1: done it a lot recently, parroting stuff that is so
- 2:49Speaker 1: dated in a sense of like so Parry the Green
- 2:51Speaker 1: Mile and the short shat redemption in this right eleven
- 2:54Speaker 1: years after Green Mile came out, where people still talking
- 2:57Speaker 1: about Green Mile, I feelt maybe the visual of on
- 3:00Speaker 1: coffee maybe, but I just don't think people really cared
- 3:03Speaker 1: about the Green Mile by twenty ten, not as much.
- 3:06Speaker 3: No, No, I mean shaw Shank has really got staying power.
- 3:10Speaker 3: The Green Mile, of course, is another Frank Dreblant movie
- 3:13Speaker 3: based on the Stephen King book.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I think The Green Mile has more staying power than Shawshank,
- 3:18Speaker 1: to be completely honest, really yeah, I think everyone. I think,
- 3:21Speaker 1: as someone who grew up in the nineties, I have
- 3:24Speaker 1: more knowledge of you know, the big dude, what's his name?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Michael Clark, Michael Clarke, Duncan from the Green Mile. You know,
- 3:30Speaker 1: than I do anything from Shawshank. Really, I love Shawshank,
- 3:33Speaker 1: but I don't think as a kid from that era, Okay,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I have any sort of that's interesting because yeah, I
- 3:38Speaker 1: mean I don't look it up at the rain. That's
- 3:40Speaker 1: the visual, sure, but I mean shaw Shank was not
- 3:44Speaker 1: hit at the time. It wasn't. No, not all well.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I mean it's burned with a fairly sort of unwieldy title.
- 3:49Speaker 3: The stars names but not necessarily movie star names. I
- 3:53Speaker 3: think it really sort of helped put Morgan Freeman on
- 3:55Speaker 3: the map in a lot of way.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Really, I was wondering that because I watched Unforgiven for
- 3:59Speaker 1: the first time the other day, right that one's best film?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Did it? It did? Yeah? How what I liked it?
- 4:06Speaker 1: I was just like, oh, this was best film of
- 4:09Speaker 1: the year. I don't know. It just felt very by
- 4:12Speaker 1: the numbers. I think a lot of it had to
- 4:16Speaker 1: be slow and well the dialogue felt clunky. Oh no,
- 4:21Speaker 1: not to.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Me, And I think to some people, yeah, some people
- 4:24Speaker 3: slow as and other people sort of deliberate and measured.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think another thing is it was you know, I'm like,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I know where this is going, so can we just
- 4:32Speaker 1: get okay? Yeah, I didn't enjoy the journey as as
- 4:35Speaker 1: much as I thought I would. It's interesting. I'm a huge,
- 4:38Speaker 1: huge fan of Unforgiven. I love it.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I think it's I think it's one of the Eastwood's
- 4:41Speaker 3: best And it also came to a time when I
- 4:44Speaker 3: wouldn't say Eastwood's sort of.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Career was on the decline.
- 4:48Speaker 3: But he had a rough sort of late eighties even
- 4:52Speaker 3: total eighties, and this was regarded as he's going back
- 4:57Speaker 3: to the cowboy. Well, but he's viewing it from a
- 4:59Speaker 3: different active, and there's a lot of talking about revisionist
- 5:03Speaker 3: Westerns when it's kind of like, oh, it used to
- 5:05Speaker 3: be all cowboys and in his white hat and black
- 5:06Speaker 3: hats and all that, and its kind of like the
- 5:08Speaker 3: old West was kind of murky and muddy and morally
- 5:11Speaker 3: gray and and pretty violent, and Eastwood was kind of
- 5:17Speaker 3: subverting all that kind of stuff.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So I think that's why. I don't think that's the
- 5:21Speaker 1: only reason they got best picture, but I think it
- 5:22Speaker 1: was a bit of a you can borrow my four
- 5:26Speaker 1: cave you like, sure, I can have it. It sounds like, oh,
- 5:32Speaker 1: why were you talking about I don't think it was
- 5:34Speaker 1: sure Shank and just Morgan Morgan, Morgan free My point
- 5:38Speaker 1: was I was like, was Morgan Freeman a star when
- 5:41Speaker 1: he was younger?
- 5:42Speaker 3: No, because he worked for years and years and years. Yes,
- 5:45Speaker 3: just as a working actor. He made a movie in
- 5:49Speaker 3: the late eighties called Street Smart. This is really interesting
- 5:52Speaker 3: because it was a Christopher Reeve sort of movie and
- 5:55Speaker 3: he only he only did Superman four. So the company
- 6:00Speaker 3: that bankrolled it, he said, you have to also have
- 6:03Speaker 3: to make this movie street Smart, where he plays like
- 6:04Speaker 3: this this journalist who's written this huge story about Oh,
- 6:09Speaker 3: it's about a pimp in the streets, except he made
- 6:11Speaker 3: it all up because he couldn't find a pimper. We
- 6:13Speaker 3: talked to him and then this real life pimp, his
- 6:17Speaker 3: sort of story coincides with it's Morgan Freeman, and he's
- 6:19Speaker 3: fantastic and.
- 6:19Speaker 1: He's so good it's absolutely terrifying. And he was like, well,
- 6:22Speaker 1: this guy's pretty good. That's why they have At the
- 6:24Speaker 1: start of Laura order the following story, it's not to
- 6:26Speaker 1: picked any actual person. Can I I'm sorry I'm doing
- 6:31Speaker 1: stories within stories here, but this just struck me as
- 6:33Speaker 1: extremely funny. It's very online, but it was very, very funny.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Are you aware of someone called Club Vicula? Are you
- 6:40Speaker 1: online enough to know about this person? No, okay, this
- 6:43Speaker 1: is someone who's called a look Smaxer's like he's like
- 6:47Speaker 1: an influence. He's this young dude.
- 6:48Speaker 3: He's like, all I care about is looking hot, and
- 6:50Speaker 3: I'll do whatever it takes.
- 6:52Speaker 1: He went bored, had fake hair that came off. I
- 6:55Speaker 1: don't know that's the guy.
- 6:56Speaker 3: No, no, no, he's like to get better cheekbones. Do
- 7:00Speaker 3: these things called microfraction. You hit yourself in the in
- 7:02Speaker 3: the in the cheek with a hammer and you get
- 7:04Speaker 3: these micro refractions. That makes you it makes your even sharper.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Now.
- 7:09Speaker 3: He recently he recently went to court for something and
- 7:13Speaker 3: the judge overseeing his case was this really sort of handsome,
- 7:17Speaker 3: middle aged dude.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, where are you going with this? Okay, let me try.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Here's clivicular. Yeah, this young dude. Here's the judge who
- 7:28Speaker 1: was overseeing. What does you have to do with Morgan Freeman.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It has to do with law and order. There was
- 7:35Speaker 1: this great tweet that said, in the looks backching justice system,
- 7:37Speaker 1: mog Baker fenses are considered especially No, no, it just
- 7:42Speaker 1: made me laugh because there's this new tom called mogging.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You heard that. I'm trying to keep up to date
- 7:47Speaker 1: with the kids. If you mog someone means you sort
- 7:49Speaker 1: of overpower them by your own charisma or something like that,
- 7:52Speaker 1: or by all your own prowwares. It's like, oh, man,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you guy totally moggeddand on that podcast with his knowledge
- 7:57Speaker 1: of zeppooned stunted on someone or something like that. Anyway,
- 8:02Speaker 1: but yeah, Lauren Order and where we were talking about
- 8:04Speaker 1: Lauren Order because I was saying, how oh yeah that
- 8:07Speaker 1: depiction especially heinous. Yes, but yeah. Then I think a
- 8:11Speaker 1: couple of years after that did Driving Miss Daisy, which
- 8:13Speaker 1: turned out to be a huge hit as well, and
- 8:15Speaker 1: it was like, we like this Morgan Freeman guy. But
- 8:17Speaker 1: it wasn't until the nineties, but I think Shorwhank was
- 8:20Speaker 1: one of the one of the first movies that sort
- 8:21Speaker 1: of had him above the title as a star. Okay, yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I'm begiveven was certainly one of those. Yeah, Morgan Freeman,
- 8:26Speaker 1: what a man, what a guy? A man? Indeed Shure Shank, yes,
- 8:30Speaker 1: but Shaw Shank was I don't know, sixteen years It's
- 8:33Speaker 1: always become a bit of a running gage on the
- 8:35Speaker 1: footy record. They would have like profiles of football players
- 8:39Speaker 1: and they would have like various questions about what's your
- 8:42Speaker 1: favorite food, what's your favorite whatever? And favorite movie? Eight
- 8:44Speaker 1: times out of ten was like Shawshank. Really yeah, in
- 8:47Speaker 1: the next movie, just a Blokes movie. It's like one
- 8:50Speaker 1: of those movies. It's like, so I go, so I
- 8:53Speaker 1: got to crime Matus shaw Shank.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It's like Tominated too well yeah, or Fiel The Dreams,
- 8:58Speaker 3: good Will Hunting I Am.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I used to always confuse it with the Castle, so
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, James got off. He's not the warden.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He's a warden in the Castle. Oh, the Last Castle,
- 9:07Speaker 1: Last Castle, the Castle, the Last Castle. Yeah, not telling
- 9:10Speaker 1: me his dream And no, no, no, I don't know
- 9:13Speaker 1: that he's the warden in that one. Here's here's the way,
- 9:15Speaker 1: easy way to distinguish those two. Shawshank. Redemption is a
- 9:19Speaker 1: good movie. The Last Castle is a bad movie. Is
- 9:20Speaker 1: it really? I don't think it's a good movie.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I ever liked it when I was younger. Okay, okay,
- 9:24Speaker 3: Greenmand was apparently a huge hit.
- 9:25Speaker 1: That's the thing. It's Greenma was a huge hit. Yeah. Yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 1: but it's a movie I really really like. I don't know.
- 9:30Speaker 1: The thing is, though, I'm watching this, and the story
- 9:33Speaker 1: is that Burns goes to prison because for reasons of whatever,
- 9:35Speaker 1: he's still stolen art and stuff, right, he goes to prison,
- 9:37Speaker 1: So he's in prison. Yeah, this felt like they were
- 9:40Speaker 1: more focused on trying to parody prison film films than
- 9:43Speaker 1: actually tell a story. That is kind of the case.
- 9:46Speaker 3: It's like we're taking a bit from Georghank, we're taking
- 9:48Speaker 3: a bit from Green Malin, and we're taking a bit
- 9:49Speaker 3: from American History X.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It's did I take anything of American History X? Besides
- 9:54Speaker 1: the title?
- 9:55Speaker 3: I think it was just I'm trying to remember because
- 9:57Speaker 3: it's been a while since i've seen it. But I
- 9:58Speaker 3: thought that Edward Norton stops being a Nazi because he's
- 10:02Speaker 3: befriended by a black guy in prison.
- 10:05Speaker 1: That's just a green mile, isn't it not really Coffee?
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, that's very that's very green mile. And the
- 10:15Speaker 3: big black guy is supposed to look like John Coffee
- 10:18Speaker 3: played by Michael Clark duncan rest in Peace. I'm pretty
- 10:22Speaker 3: sure that American History X has Yeah, he's converted by
- 10:24Speaker 3: a black eye.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Whether it's to do with religion or Christianity or whatever.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I'm not undertentual, but I think that's the reference because
- 10:30Speaker 1: I was, Yeah, why would you call it American history
- 10:33Speaker 1: excellent when there's no American History X stuff in it?
- 10:36Speaker 1: I don't know. I think that's it. But the thing is,
- 10:38Speaker 1: there's three there's three stories in this episode, two of
- 10:40Speaker 1: which in particular, could have been fully fledged episodes. Right
- 10:43Speaker 1: the Smither's becoming the boss of the power plant, that's
- 10:45Speaker 1: an episode in itself. Yes, there was so much you
- 10:47Speaker 1: could have doved into the prison, Smithers runs the power
- 10:50Speaker 1: and you have the side story of Bartley's with the
- 10:52Speaker 1: knot cut that out that didn't need to be cut
- 10:54Speaker 1: it out entirely. I didn't like it. I did not
- 10:57Speaker 1: like it. Yeah, there was something you could have worked
- 10:59Speaker 1: with there, but it just wasn't executed very well. Here
- 11:01Speaker 1: my theory was with the Bart and Lisa one, you
- 11:04Speaker 1: could have done more of it. For example, when it
- 11:06Speaker 1: first happens, maybe Bart is not sympathetic towards the ants,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and it's a way of Lisa teaching but empathy towards animals.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And also maybe you could have had like, you know,
- 11:15Speaker 1: they have rival ant farms something like that. Right here,
- 11:18Speaker 1: they're just sort of looking after this little ant and
- 11:20Speaker 1: then they spend a wholesode looking after it, release it
- 11:22Speaker 1: to be free because I was about to die and
- 11:24Speaker 1: the doctor just eats it up.
- 11:26Speaker 3: They're doing this a bit recently, kind of just humor
- 11:30Speaker 3: that if you want to be generous is like, oh,
- 11:32Speaker 3: that's a bit dark and subversive.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Was like, now, that's just mean spirited. I touched on
- 11:36Speaker 1: a little bit in the last episode with the Jerusalem visit,
- 11:40Speaker 1: but this one was felt more so. There was just
- 11:42Speaker 1: lots of random short scenes right that ended with a
- 11:46Speaker 1: random gag that really had nothing to do with the
- 11:48Speaker 1: story and didn't progress the story. So I was like,
- 11:50Speaker 1: why these gags here? Tell me more. The big one
- 11:52Speaker 1: for me was Grandpa. Oh yeah, and he has like
- 11:56Speaker 1: the dream of his I'm not in my mind im
- 12:00Speaker 1: and then he has a dream of him in a cage,
- 12:02Speaker 1: and I was like that didn't further the story. It
- 12:05Speaker 1: didn't need to be there. It's like, why are these
- 12:07Speaker 1: random things here that they're not They're not, are you?
- 12:12Speaker 1: Like the Parker and the Stony thing. Everything needs to happen,
- 12:14Speaker 1: needs to be furthering the story. Sure, why are we
- 12:16Speaker 1: just throwing in these random Well, like I said in
- 12:18Speaker 1: the previous episode, this is in our previous episode when
- 12:21Speaker 1: we were talking about the greatest story of but No,
- 12:23Speaker 1: I said that this episode I think has just got
- 12:25Speaker 1: a really strong foundation, a really interesting van. Burns in
- 12:28Speaker 1: prison could have been a great story. I think, Yeah,
- 12:30Speaker 1: him letting the prison life and realize he's being humbled,
- 12:34Speaker 1: Smithers being corrupted. Yeah, it almost gives you a bit of
- 12:38Speaker 1: pove thought. It's like, what was Burns always bad? Or
- 12:40Speaker 1: was he sort of corrupted by power? Why does Smithers?
- 12:43Speaker 1: Why do we never have Smithers visiting Burns in prison?
- 12:44Speaker 3: That's good point, Like, that's a very good p Yeah.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Cut out all the an farm ship so any of that, No, no,
- 12:51Speaker 3: and have like Smithers visiting Burns less and less frequently.
- 12:56Speaker 3: It's been two weeks. You haven't come up because I'm
- 12:58Speaker 3: running the planet, you know, and you see me. He
- 13:00Speaker 3: looks a little more flash every time. He's like the
- 13:03Speaker 3: last time I see him's like got gog chains or something.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I think that could be really interesting.
- 13:08Speaker 1: My theory was he could have had Smithers at first
- 13:11Speaker 1: being a pushover, and he goes to visit Burns in
- 13:13Speaker 1: prison and ask for advice on how do I control
- 13:15Speaker 1: these guys? How do I make them fear me that
- 13:17Speaker 1: they fear you? And then he gives Smithers the advice,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, Smithers stopped visiting now
- 13:21Speaker 1: because now Smith doesn't need him anymore. Correct the Smither's
- 13:24Speaker 1: characters always needed Burns. So if it felt odd to
- 13:27Speaker 1: me that from the first, from the get go, he
- 13:28Speaker 1: was like, I'm going to be the boss that everyone wanted,
- 13:30Speaker 1: not like mister Burns. I'm like, you worship this guy.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Your whole character is the fact that you fucking love him.
- 13:35Speaker 1: You do it, you die for him. So why are
- 13:37Speaker 1: you now now You're the boss? Be everything he wasn't? Well,
- 13:41Speaker 1: that's sense, does he he loves mister.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Burns, but does he respect mister Burns's way of doing things.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It's kind of like, you know, hate the hate the player,
- 13:49Speaker 3: not the game, or something along those lines. I mean,
- 13:51Speaker 3: I kind of like the idea of like him thinking, oh,
- 13:55Speaker 3: there are ways that this could run more efficiently, could
- 13:57Speaker 3: run better, you know, we could make money but still
- 13:59Speaker 3: be a good work. And then it turns out all
- 14:01Speaker 3: these workers are dickheads.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but we don't see Yeah, that's true. We don't
- 14:05Speaker 1: see enough at the power plant of we see one
- 14:08Speaker 1: like town meeting of him saying I'm gonna be a
- 14:10Speaker 1: better boss, and then it's just them most saying you're
- 14:13Speaker 1: a great boss. Smithers. He goes outside for a phone call,
- 14:15Speaker 1: which is the most cliche thing ever comes back in
- 14:17Speaker 1: over here. Is that Smithers guy? Hey, what he's such
- 14:21Speaker 1: a pushover? It's like that is the most basic it
- 14:24Speaker 1: really storytelling ever. Yeah, I was. I was a little disappointed, Yeah,
- 14:29Speaker 1: which I mean a lot disappointed. Yeah, the Smithers in
- 14:31Speaker 1: control of the power plant could work as his own story.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Having Burns go for some other reason besides because Burns
- 14:37Speaker 1: in Prison should have been a full length episode in itself.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Absolutely that you could have had Burns realizing I'm not
- 14:42Speaker 1: in control here. I don't have the power. I can't
- 14:44Speaker 1: tell people what to do. Yes, the work is way
- 14:46Speaker 1: up the chain. And that's when the Michael Clark Dougling
- 14:49Speaker 1: Carriacter John Coffee says, I need to stop this guy.
- 14:51Speaker 1: He's becoming too evil. That's yeah, Yeah, that's having become
- 14:54Speaker 1: the shot caller in the prison, and then and then
- 14:56Speaker 1: he tries to save him as opposed to just going
- 14:58Speaker 1: because he's not calling any sh that would be I
- 15:01Speaker 1: watch a whole Simpsons movie about that it or watching
- 15:04Speaker 1: like a two part episode of him going to prison
- 15:06Speaker 1: and just make it like Oz yes, and just become
- 15:10Speaker 1: there's weedy old man who's just like sheer, cunning and manipulation,
- 15:13Speaker 1: becomes the most powerful player in the Jay Yeah. And
- 15:16Speaker 1: then but John Coffee is the one guy he can't
- 15:18Speaker 1: get to. Yeah, and then John Coffee makes him realize
- 15:22Speaker 1: he's been a bad person. Correct, that's wild. That's would
- 15:26Speaker 1: you watch that episode? We'd watch it.
- 15:28Speaker 3: We should write it, but eventually I pour writing before
- 15:34Speaker 3: though I want it's something I want to talk about
- 15:36Speaker 3: a little bit. I mean, I've written down here this
- 15:38Speaker 3: is poorly written in terms of that scene where it's
- 15:40Speaker 3: like I'm a kid, doesn't even have anything or does everything.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I'm not going to it. This guy is such a dickhead,
- 15:45Speaker 1: such a loser, blah blah blah. That was poor. That
- 15:47Speaker 1: was not great.
- 15:48Speaker 3: But even at the start of the episode where you're
- 15:52Speaker 3: all working at my fourth of July thing, his I've
- 15:55Speaker 3: wrote down what is wrong with Burns's villain here. And
- 15:57Speaker 3: I'm not saying, hey, what's wrong with It's not all bad.
- 15:59Speaker 3: I'm just saying, why is this not sticking? Why is
- 16:02Speaker 3: this not landing for me?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Is it too overblown?
- 16:04Speaker 3: I mean it's degrading enough that he's getting all these
- 16:07Speaker 3: people to come work on the fourth of July for
- 16:10Speaker 3: no money. You don't have to all put on a
- 16:12Speaker 3: show for me, you know, put on this grand musical
- 16:15Speaker 3: extravaganza or something. It's just like, just come and do
- 16:18Speaker 3: menial labor for me. I think that would resonate with
- 16:21Speaker 3: a lot more people, and it would sort of make
- 16:22Speaker 3: Burns' villainy more vivid.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You know what it is? Because the Burns, the Burns
- 16:27Speaker 1: we grew up with, right, the Burns from the Golden era,
- 16:30Speaker 1: wanted to spend his list less time with the employees
- 16:32Speaker 1: as possible, even hated doing Employee Night of the Year
- 16:36Speaker 1: or whatever you didn't want to be there. He would
- 16:38Speaker 1: not want to spend his Fourth of July with his
- 16:40Speaker 1: employees doing even though doing shit for him. He's like,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I want no one here, leave me alone. Yeah, or okay,
- 16:48Speaker 1: it's make this a story. It's my turn to host
- 16:51Speaker 1: the Fourth of July party for you know, the billionaire
- 16:55Speaker 1: Coalition or whatever.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Fine, and yeah, you're all coming to work for me,
- 17:00Speaker 3: you know, to do it. Make it working stiffs versus
- 17:03Speaker 3: one percenters kind of do where it's like people are
- 17:05Speaker 3: just throwing food over their shoulder and hitting home in
- 17:08Speaker 3: the eye with a half eaten cupcake or some ship
- 17:09Speaker 3: like that. I don't know, I'm just thinking of a
- 17:11Speaker 3: story here. Have there's an episode where it's Fourth of
- 17:14Speaker 3: July and the fireworks abandoned Springfield. I feel like Sheennigan's
- 17:17Speaker 3: coming suit with that.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do something about that. The beer baron, but
- 17:20Speaker 1: the fireworks baron. Yeah. I'm just watching this going there's
- 17:22Speaker 1: too much happening in this one, and nothing's actually being
- 17:25Speaker 1: fleshed out. Too much and not enough. Nothing like the
- 17:27Speaker 1: whole Burns prison. There's nothing to it. So he goes
- 17:29Speaker 1: to prison for a reason. That's because he stole it.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Apparently that's a real thing. Apparently that art was actually
- 17:33Speaker 1: stolen from the Boston Museum and lud just randomly knew that.
- 17:36Speaker 1: But they went there to arrest the three guys for
- 17:38Speaker 1: ruining his house. And they don't arrest the three guys
- 17:40Speaker 1: for ruining his house that has arrest burns. He gets
- 17:42Speaker 1: taken to prison, and then he immediately is like, I'm
- 17:45Speaker 1: going to pick my sorority because apparently he's a oblivious idiot,
- 17:48Speaker 1: he doesn't understand that prison has the gangs. Which sorority
- 17:51Speaker 1: would I choose? And then and then John Coffee is
- 17:54Speaker 1: like he's mine. I'm like, why damn? What is going
- 17:57Speaker 1: on here? Why? And then by the end of it
- 18:00Speaker 1: is like, no, I still had some evil in between
- 18:02Speaker 1: my toes, so I'm still an evil bastard. And I'm like, so,
- 18:06Speaker 1: what was the point of any of this? There was none.
- 18:09Speaker 1: There was none. And it ends with John Coffee with
- 18:10Speaker 1: fat Tony you were mentioning dark gags. I thought it
- 18:14Speaker 1: was going to end with him going the delightful guy
- 18:16Speaker 1: back in prison, right, and him going telling a story
- 18:19Speaker 1: and pans out and he's actually sitting on the electric
- 18:21Speaker 1: chair about to be ax. I thought that's where they
- 18:23Speaker 1: were going, you know, that's the Green Mile. Actually it
- 18:25Speaker 1: is I'm Afraid of the Dark.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Boss.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Is that when he says I'm afraid the dark? The Dark? Heartbreaking?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yes it is. Yeah, it was a really good movie. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 1: but yeah, this one here seems to be a recurring thing,
- 18:37Speaker 1: lots lots of potential untapped. Correct, he my favorite. Did
- 18:44Speaker 1: you have any favorite moments from the episode?
- 18:46Speaker 3: Look, there were one or two lines in here that
- 18:48Speaker 3: were reminiscent, as we like to say, reminiscent of classic Simpsons.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I liked when they had initially where they're having the
- 18:54Speaker 3: first meeting or whatever. Yeah, and are saying, oh, we
- 18:57Speaker 3: regret the death of so and so who died from
- 18:59Speaker 3: common aplications due to union organizing.
- 19:02Speaker 1: That feels like old school burns.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like, don't just speakable person, don't try and
- 19:08Speaker 3: unionize now you'll get bumped off.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 3: You mentioned before about the painting that burns out, the
- 19:14Speaker 3: whole thing that sort of gets him sent to Printon.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I don't approve his motivation, but I like it from
- 19:17Speaker 3: a storytelling sense, like why should all these paupers get
- 19:21Speaker 3: to look at priceless works of art?
- 19:23Speaker 1: No, it's it's for me. I did write my notes.
- 19:26Speaker 3: He's not wrong, So I like his motivation that regard.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I find that really interesting. H And, as I said,
- 19:32Speaker 3: the interesting idea of the veteran too. I see slash
- 19:34Speaker 3: assistant being given the seat of power and becoming corrupted
- 19:38Speaker 3: by it.
- 19:39Speaker 1: And someone like I don't know if he'd be really
- 19:42Speaker 1: seen of Smith's. But he never gets corrupted. That's the problem. Yeah,
- 19:45Speaker 1: he's a nice guy who these dickheads take advantage advantage
- 19:49Speaker 1: of and then were supposed to feel smpathy from here's
- 19:51Speaker 1: my other grit. Right, So the whole premise is we
- 19:54Speaker 1: find out the episode starts with Burns being taken by
- 19:57Speaker 1: guards in prison. But you wonder how I got here
- 20:00Speaker 1: a week earlier whatever, Right, And it turns out the
- 20:02Speaker 1: guys are like, how can we get rid of Smithers?
- 20:04Speaker 1: We want Burns back. I know, we'll just break into
- 20:06Speaker 1: the prison by putting on prison guard outfits and just
- 20:08Speaker 1: walking him out the door. Now, they don't even showed
- 20:10Speaker 1: them how they got in there the correct Yeah, and
- 20:13Speaker 1: I must have been I was thinking all that time.
- 20:15Speaker 1: So he's just going to break him out and then
- 20:18Speaker 1: he's going to resume his normal life. Order they do
- 20:20Speaker 1: try to get themselves an escape hatch with like men of.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Wealth can beat the system. Now it's like, okay, that's
- 20:25Speaker 3: not unfunny. Yeah, and Home has got his bit about
- 20:29Speaker 3: Yeah the past never had a chance.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 20:31Speaker 3: I thought that was kind of funny, but again that's
- 20:34Speaker 3: it's kind of sloppy as well.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I like the they thought it had the best insulation
- 20:40Speaker 1: and it was the best asbestos and then not the
- 20:42Speaker 1: best asbestos. Yeah, I don't mind. That is all right.
- 20:45Speaker 1: They did it in the first Trains of Horror with
- 20:47Speaker 1: the how to Cook for forty Humans. Correct. I didn't
- 20:50Speaker 1: mind the various heads that were on the wall and
- 20:52Speaker 1: a suber tooth tiger t extent trespasser just passay.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Speaking, which what did I just lend you on Blu
- 20:58Speaker 3: Ray oh Man. We talked about this on a previous episode.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I wait to watch it, and I didn't mind. Someone
- 21:07Speaker 3: you'll see from in Trespass is William Sadler.
- 21:10Speaker 1: He is Death from Bill and Ted's Burgers Journey.
- 21:12Speaker 3: You'll also see him in The Green Mile and Redemption.
- 21:16Speaker 3: He's a he's a Frank Darabont regular, like that guy.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And my final favorite moment here was I know you
- 21:21Speaker 1: didn't like the Barton Lisa story, but it just felt
- 21:24Speaker 1: very kiddish. So he's like your eight legs and this
- 21:27Speaker 1: is like they got six leagus. I thank god, I
- 21:29Speaker 1: thought I broke to off. Yeah, actually that's pretty good. Yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 1: I didn't mind that. I have one more favorite moment.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Okay, yep, A shout out to a man, Joe Montagna.
- 21:36Speaker 3: His dedication to being fat Tony is unparalleled.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Shows up for one line. What a guy. I wonder
- 21:41Speaker 1: if he just says, give me all the fat Tony
- 21:43Speaker 1: lines for the season and I'll record them all at
- 21:46Speaker 1: once and he doesn't crusty style throwing cards over and oppressional.
- 21:54Speaker 1: What a guy? Yeah? I know, right, yeah, use your
- 21:57Speaker 1: dark magic. You've got so Manyson's staffers on to talk to.
- 22:02Speaker 1: We should get Joe on. I've already had Joe on,
- 22:04Speaker 1: Well get him, get him back on, Mitch, I need
- 22:08Speaker 1: to speak so you see, he's got criminal minds, money. Now,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I just care about us. Joe Montagnure doesn't care about
- 22:17Speaker 1: four Finger discussed to be Baby's day out and Godfather three.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Now it's he's got Father three, wasn't he He's got
- 22:24Speaker 1: Father three? Joey Zasa? Yeah, all right, what am I
- 22:27Speaker 1: gonna do it?
- 22:27Speaker 2: This?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Gay? Next question? You there eating the paste trivia time?
- 22:32Speaker 1: My first question is how many puzzle pieces worth? The
- 22:36Speaker 1: old Man? What is it going to be Old man
- 22:37Speaker 1: or something?
- 22:38Speaker 3: Oh that's what I was going to ask you, and
- 22:39Speaker 3: the answer is five hundred in the Scared Old Man
- 22:41Speaker 3: Jigsaw puzzle. You would like that kind of thing. You're
- 22:43Speaker 3: a big fan of jigsaws.
- 22:45Speaker 1: You know what it is, though, is because my name Marlene,
- 22:48Speaker 1: God bless her. She passed six years this month. Yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 1: six it's actually six years tomorrow she passed, right. She
- 22:54Speaker 1: used to do jigsaws all the time. So school holidays
- 22:56Speaker 1: were saying at NaN's house doing jigsaw puzzles were there.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I was always when she let you do the last piece.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Oh that's very nice. I'm a fan of Jigsaw, but
- 23:04Speaker 1: by which I mean the killer from the Saw movies. Yes,
- 23:08Speaker 1: there is no a movie called Jigsaw. There is. I
- 23:10Speaker 1: keep I keep trying to bring Saw back. After the
- 23:13Speaker 1: third one, I was like, I think I think I'm done.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I'm tapped out. So I'm asking you a question. There's
- 23:19Speaker 3: a two parter if you like. Where was the concert
- 23:23Speaker 3: by the Mere stolen from?
- 23:25Speaker 1: And in what year? And that's the Boston Boston Museum
- 23:28Speaker 1: of some kind.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Okay, well it was in Boston, but yeah, the name
- 23:31Speaker 3: of the museum, I don't know. The Isabella Stewart Gardener
- 23:34Speaker 3: Museum was.
- 23:35Speaker 1: In ninety three. It was ninety ninety. All right. My
- 23:40Speaker 1: next question, final question for you is sorry, no second question.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Lenny gives mister Burns what type of meal and what
- 23:49Speaker 1: is your request in exchange? At the he serves him something. Oh, well,
- 23:53Speaker 1: here are your spear ribs and he wants strike ribs,
- 23:59Speaker 1: strike bowling reference. Oh yeah, that's right here. Wow, they
- 24:05Speaker 1: can't all be winners. Um. Burns has a cell mate
- 24:09Speaker 1: when he first gets to prison. Yeah, Dartmouth.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but no, but he got his masters from somewhere
- 24:15Speaker 3: else and it's called the public IVY according to this gentleman.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Okay, don't know. That was the University of Virginia. Alrighty.
- 24:21Speaker 1: My final question for you is Burns has a movie
- 24:23Speaker 1: stub from which film? From nineteen fourteen? Oh?
- 24:27Speaker 3: I can see it in my head from the subtitles,
- 24:29Speaker 3: and I can't remember, like it's three words. Yeah, I know,
- 24:33Speaker 3: And I want to say, like the tarnished something, Tilly's something,
- 24:36Speaker 3: Tilly's punctured lung, punctured romance, romance.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Till He's puncured lung. Yeah, let's starring Jigsaw.
- 24:45Speaker 3: One last question for you, I don't want to me Okay, uh,
- 24:48Speaker 3: what magazine is snake reading in the laundering.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I don't know, so I looked down to write type
- 24:54Speaker 1: notes out looked up and SHO, Bob's in a dryer.
- 24:57Speaker 1: What happened there?
- 24:58Speaker 3: He was in the washer and then he was in
- 24:59Speaker 3: the dry Why prison torture? He's reading pe Pole Pole?
- 25:04Speaker 1: Okay, now it's off for some stonecutter shoutouts. Do you reckon?
- 25:16Speaker 1: Katie Jeez have been to prison? If she did, she'd
- 25:19Speaker 1: be like the shot caller being delightful. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 1: What's she charge of you for being a legend? You're
- 25:26Speaker 1: getting there. You're getting five to ten for just being awesome. Yes.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Also the following people are also awesome. We've got Glenn Gomez,
- 25:33Speaker 1: Justin Parker, Zach Prut, Shannimcher, Elliott j O'Neil, Isabella Murphy,

- 26:09Speaker 1: to prison though, Oh yeah, are you doing time? I
- 26:11Speaker 1: didn't get enough. No, no, but thank you guys for
- 26:13Speaker 1: all of your support. All right, let's get into a review,
- 26:15Speaker 1: shall we? Of American History excellent. The original edit of
- 26:19Speaker 1: this episode was April eleventh, twenty ten. We wanted to
- 26:22Speaker 1: correct something last week when we did a review of
- 26:24Speaker 1: the Greatest Story Ever doed, I did the top three
- 26:26Speaker 1: films from May twenty eighth, not March twenty eight. Got
- 26:30Speaker 1: ahead of yourself, So I will do the March twenty
- 26:33Speaker 1: eighth movies when we get to the May twenty eighth. Okay,
- 26:36Speaker 1: oh man, And here's the thing I think I was
- 26:39Speaker 1: all like, oh unified theory of four thing? A discut
- 26:41Speaker 1: comes through again because a lot of these movies take
- 26:42Speaker 1: plays in the desert in the Holy Land, So oh no,
- 26:45Speaker 1: no one cared enough to actually go back in movies
- 26:47Speaker 1: of that shit. But number three is How To Train
- 26:49Speaker 1: Your Dragon. Number two is Date Night and number one
- 26:51Speaker 1: is Clash of the Titan. Still at number one, nice
- 26:54Speaker 1: Starry Amen, Sam Worthington, right, oh, mate, Sam Worthington, Yeah,
- 26:58Speaker 1: this yeah all time. Yeah, trying to watch accent. Yeah,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I'm trub watch avatarpe the other day and I was like,
- 27:05Speaker 1: I just can't do this. You mean, like, go back
- 27:07Speaker 1: to the first one. I was like, I'm gonna watch
- 27:09Speaker 1: the first one again so i can watch the new ones.
- 27:10Speaker 3: And I was like, apparently Far and Ash is it
- 27:12Speaker 3: on Disney Plus at the moment is now because as
- 27:16Speaker 3: I've said before, I tapped out halfway through a Way
- 27:17Speaker 3: of Water. Even though everyone loves Pire, can.
- 27:21Speaker 1: The Big Whale?
- 27:22Speaker 3: See James Cameron's like, everyone's like, he's going to do it,
- 27:26Speaker 3: isn't he? The whole way is gonna be a big
- 27:28Speaker 3: Jim is saying, it's like, yeah, I can make for
- 27:30Speaker 3: and fire for like you.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Know, half the cost. Yeah, if he does it, it's over.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It's game over. Yeah. Yeah, it's funny.
- 27:40Speaker 3: It comes film Come film FIRSTIV is on at the moment,
- 27:43Speaker 3: and you know a lot of people are sort of
- 27:45Speaker 3: being asked about AI. I think, to me, Moore was
- 27:47Speaker 3: kind of like, you know, you've got to work with it,
- 27:48Speaker 3: and Peter Jackson was like it's a tool like everything else.
- 27:52Speaker 1: All these people like, oh no, there accepting it. The
- 27:55Speaker 1: walls are crumbling. Yeah. Yeah, it's just because, like I
- 27:58Speaker 1: talked about in the podcast, should Star Wars ones on
- 28:01Speaker 1: YouTube and it's like this ship ain't perfect, but it's
- 28:03Speaker 1: close enough, well good enough. It's like for someone watching
- 28:10Speaker 1: on YouTube, oh sure, I've paid nothing for this and
- 28:13Speaker 1: a story and it's better storyteller than Disney correct see
- 28:18Speaker 1: the man Lauren and Grogan in So, I haven't seen it.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I did see a funny tweet that was like Grogu
- 28:25Speaker 1: on the red carpet doing something, so I was like,
- 28:27Speaker 1: I should be tired as the fun but I'm just not.
- 28:28Speaker 1: He's still got He's got the still got it. Imagine
- 28:36Speaker 1: if someone went up and shot him Jack Jack Ruby style,
- 28:47Speaker 1: actual living being. We've been full this whole time. It's
- 28:54Speaker 1: a puppet someone, it's a brows motherfucker. You do you
- 29:01Speaker 1: usually call him Grogan? Do you still go like baby yo,
- 29:03Speaker 1: baby Yoda. It's pretty cute. The funck is still got
- 29:08Speaker 1: it as opposed a bet you were just sending me
- 29:13Speaker 1: all these means what is he doing? Like? Just go
- 29:15Speaker 1: wait now, mate, I said. We went from.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Willis and Stallone and Swartzenegger and Letterman to fucking past
- 29:27Speaker 2: kissing each other. What the hell is can you imagine
- 29:29Speaker 2: principels ever say hey, let him, let's let's smooch.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Look what are we doing. There's nothing wrong with two
- 29:34Speaker 1: guys kissing. But what the fuck did they have to
- 29:35Speaker 1: do with anything? He was mid mid interview and Pasco's goes.
- 29:39Speaker 1: He's like, what do you do? He's like, kiss me?
- 29:41Speaker 1: And I'm like, what the hell is going on? Why
- 29:44Speaker 1: are you doing that? Because you know why? Because it
- 29:46Speaker 1: creates a clip for social media? Of course it does.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh you look. You don't want to
- 29:51Speaker 1: you don't want to get me sat on this. I
- 29:52Speaker 1: had a whole rant would do for the movie guy. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 1: it's not about that. It's just about how.
- 30:00Speaker 3: This is not my This is not a new philosophy.
- 30:02Speaker 3: It's probably not even my philosophy. But everything is k
- 30:05Speaker 3: fave now, yeah, everything is k fave. Everything is soap
- 30:08Speaker 3: op bro.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'll tell you about it off camera. Liberty
- 30:14Speaker 1: time here times of But it kicks off at the prison,
- 30:19Speaker 1: but you want to do the whole? Yes? Sorryeh? Originally
- 30:22Speaker 1: Every Eleventh twenty ten, written by Michael Price, directed by
- 30:25Speaker 1: Bob Anderson, guest starring Joe Montagna as Fat Tony and
- 30:28Speaker 1: Kevin Michael Richardson, who is now the voice of doctor Hibbertt.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Okay then, but yes, I'm assuming he was the John
- 30:33Speaker 3: Coffee esque character character even have a name, No, just
- 30:37Speaker 3: says salm mate burns a sal mate?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah again laziness. Yeah, I know, at least call them
- 30:42Speaker 1: what John T or something? Just something stare or yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 1: Johnny T. But the chortboard gay hot dogs are not bookmarks.
- 30:51Speaker 1: And the couch gave the family sits on the couch,
- 30:52Speaker 1: which is the front lawn in front of the house,
- 30:54Speaker 1: falls down around them, similar to a cash gave from
- 30:56Speaker 1: Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill Junior. That is correct. Actually didn't
- 30:59Speaker 1: mind the cash game for this one.
- 31:00Speaker 3: That's pretty good. I mean, when you think about actually
- 31:04Speaker 3: doing that, that could have killed the bust the balls
- 31:07Speaker 3: on that manager to sit there, Buster, he put.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Himself through Helen back for hour entertainment. Shout out to
- 31:12Speaker 1: Buster Keaton. Also billboard gag? What's the billboard gag for?
- 31:15Speaker 3: This billboard gag was duff two hundred, nothing but booze.
- 31:19Speaker 3: You could try a little harder with that.
- 31:20Speaker 1: You also have in the.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Flying through the air thing during Lucyimton's I think it
- 31:25Speaker 3: was the it was a Texas billionaire, as like evil
- 31:27Speaker 3: can eat.
- 31:27Speaker 1: The rich Texan? What do we call it? Just the Lurdock?
- 31:32Speaker 1: What's his name? Lets murder? Is the daredevil that's firing
- 31:37Speaker 1: the guns? Yeah it was Lance Murdock. Yeah, is Lance
- 31:40Speaker 1: Murdock the the rich Texan? No, it wasn't the rich Textan.
- 31:44Speaker 1: It was evil and evil?
- 31:45Speaker 3: Oh okay, but yeah, as evil can evil though, but
- 31:47Speaker 3: it was like, yeah, no it was it was him.
- 31:50Speaker 3: It was oh okay, then was a Lance Murder. It
- 31:52Speaker 3: was LANs Murdock.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Okay, well I'm okay with that.
- 31:54Speaker 3: There is that right there, There is Lands Murdock. That's
- 31:57Speaker 3: this actual screenshot, So it is, wow, welcome to guy
- 32:02Speaker 3: didn't do his research. Yes, it did a better research,
- 32:05Speaker 3: it's just not.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That aut The prison and birds is in there and
- 32:09Speaker 1: we have his voiceover. He's saying he's going to explain
- 32:11Speaker 1: how we're gonna You suppose I suppose you're wondering, how
- 32:13Speaker 1: do you I don't mind that. Sometimes sometimes it works.
- 32:17Speaker 1: It's become a bit of a cliche, but you wondering
- 32:19Speaker 1: how this has happened. I've been doing it a lot
- 32:20Speaker 1: on Law and Order, where things are happening and it's
- 32:22Speaker 1: like thirty six hours early and I'm like, come on, man,
- 32:26Speaker 1: was it on Rick and Morty? Did you ever see that?
- 32:28Speaker 1: Watch like two seasons maybe? And then I was like,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I'm done. They had there's nine seasons now, Oh no, yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: I forgot when I tapped out. But yeah, the most
- 32:38Speaker 1: animated shows now like Family Guy, American Dad's like season
- 32:41Speaker 1: twenty something. You're like, how how is this happening? But
- 32:44Speaker 1: they had an episode where Morty had to went to
- 32:48Speaker 1: a lighthouse or something and the lighthouse keeper had to
- 32:51Speaker 1: help me with something. He said, for me to help you,
- 32:52Speaker 1: you have to listen to me read my screenplay, reads
- 32:56Speaker 1: the screenplay to him, and it's only like thirty six
- 33:00Speaker 1: hours earlier. Look, it was pretty good. I just don't
- 33:03Speaker 1: like stories that you know they should start at the start,
- 33:05Speaker 1: and got really pissed off it. Anyway, Yeah, that's how
- 33:09Speaker 1: I usually felt after watching Rick and Morty pretty much.
- 33:13Speaker 1: It was good to begin with. Yeah, like so many things. Yes, indeed,
- 33:16Speaker 1: then this is where we have a week earlier and
- 33:18Speaker 1: mister Burns is explaining Roger Ducett. I think it's the
- 33:22Speaker 1: farewell party for him, basically, isn't it like his funeral
- 33:24Speaker 1: or whatever it was? He was going to be employeed
- 33:27Speaker 1: the month but he tragically dies due to complications from
- 33:29Speaker 1: union organizing. Correct.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I think it's just a staff meeting and they're sort
- 33:32Speaker 3: of various things. He's passed away in all hands.
- 33:34Speaker 1: He's announced that there's a company picnic and it's going
- 33:37Speaker 1: to be only him who's invited because they are going
- 33:39Speaker 1: to be there working and getting no pay. I'm not
- 33:42Speaker 1: sure he has the power to do that. I don't
- 33:43Speaker 1: think that's the care logical. But anyway, it's the fourth
- 33:47Speaker 1: of July. Yeah, that's doesn't make any sense why they're there.
- 33:50Speaker 1: It's a day off. Writing can be tough, so I
- 33:53Speaker 1: don't want to say this is lazy writing on the part. Yeah, no,
- 33:55Speaker 1: he can't say it's lazy writing. But it doesn't make
- 33:57Speaker 1: any say that if it's something so simple, Just give
- 34:00Speaker 1: a reason why they have to work, or show that
- 34:03Speaker 1: Burns is a master manipulated by saying you don't have
- 34:06Speaker 1: to show up to this, but here are six reasons why,
- 34:09Speaker 1: and they'll all be bad for you if you don't
- 34:11Speaker 1: show up, or you just go. Lenny saying, hey, it's
- 34:14Speaker 1: that day off. It's a fourth for July, and you
- 34:16Speaker 1: say was a day off, and then Quimby with money bags,
- 34:19Speaker 1: He's like, I've changed a law, so you have to
- 34:21Speaker 1: work easy. There you go, man, God damn, just give
- 34:25Speaker 1: me a I don't care if the reason is I logical,
- 34:29Speaker 1: just acknowledge it. Give me a reason. Just give me something.
- 34:33Speaker 1: But it's fourth of July and they're all there working.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Independence Day is now these sixth of July in the
- 34:39Speaker 1: Springfield area. Yeah, that's it. I just wanted to do
- 34:43Speaker 1: a Quimby Lenny gives him spare rivers. He wants strike ribs.
- 34:46Speaker 1: He tells Carl to go ask the doctor why he
- 34:48Speaker 1: would ask for something so crazy. Then Smith suggests maybe
- 34:51Speaker 1: they should have the rest of the day. So I
- 34:52Speaker 1: guess this is planning to see the psmith's being a
- 34:53Speaker 1: nicer boss. Yeah, maybe you should have the rest of
- 34:55Speaker 1: the day off, and he says he wants them to
- 34:57Speaker 1: first perform his play Burns Blessed America tells him to
- 35:00Speaker 1: break a leg. Guy pulls it a hammer and brace
- 35:02Speaker 1: his own leg and then it was a bigerous peach,
- 35:05Speaker 1: you idiot, No, you're even more fired or something. And
- 35:07Speaker 1: they perform the show, do a good job, and he
- 35:10Speaker 1: Tells Smithers to clap his hands sarcastically, and Homo suggests
- 35:13Speaker 1: a party in Burns's wine cellar. They go downstairs, just.
- 35:17Speaker 3: A ship replay of like the people of Australia have
- 35:21Speaker 3: joined hands? Is a happy birthday, mister Burns.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Look at it leader.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Homer finds their sixty thousand dollar bottle, which is his
- 35:27Speaker 1: annual salary. Apparently he drinks it or he spills it,
- 35:31Speaker 1: does whatever. They drinks a lot of He drinks his
- 35:33Speaker 1: share and he spills. He spills his text because then
- 35:36Speaker 1: he says he's going to be taxed on it. Yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 1: just ruining Burns's house. Kyl is in that the Diver's suit.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Then Burns comes in and says call. He says call
- 35:44Speaker 1: the police like an old timey way. I think he says,
- 35:46Speaker 1: wake the beatle. Yes, indeed, which a beatle is like
- 35:49Speaker 1: an official or a sheriff in olden times. Okay, so
- 35:53Speaker 1: they're playing twister of all the various iconic paintings like
- 35:56Speaker 1: ren Brand and whatnot, and then Lou the Officer's Walk
- 36:00Speaker 1: in Lou realizes that the stolen painting from Boston's Isabella
- 36:03Speaker 1: Stuart Garden the Museum is there. And as Ben says
- 36:06Speaker 1: here you're mentioned earlier, is it a crime to want
- 36:08Speaker 1: nice things and then steal them from a public museum
- 36:10Speaker 1: where any gum chewing monkey in a toughest university jacket
- 36:13Speaker 1: can gork with them? I think not. It's anti human, yes,
- 36:16Speaker 1: But at the same time, anyone who anyone with a
- 36:19Speaker 1: sizeable another ego would probably go, oh, these guys looking
- 36:22Speaker 1: at him, Yeah, I shouldn't belong to everyone, and half
- 36:25Speaker 1: these people are appreciating it. Correct, yes, but his burns appreciated.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I'm not sure that probably not. But they they cuff him,
- 36:31Speaker 1: not around his wrists, around his waist because you know
- 36:33Speaker 1: he's mister says twenty one. Yeah. Then he has a
- 36:37Speaker 1: public humiliation, so they put him in a cage and
- 36:39Speaker 1: people throwing to what, don't get it, just throwing to
- 36:44Speaker 1: was selling veggies Millhouse wants to rot one because they're
- 36:47Speaker 1: but they're two dollars. And then I don't like he's
- 36:49Speaker 1: like why would I do that? You're not like you're
- 36:51Speaker 1: going to hit him anyway, because Millhouse is not good
- 36:52Speaker 1: at throwing. But since his birthday buys them. The rotten
- 36:54Speaker 1: tomatoes marches the Homer and but aren't allowed to hurl
- 36:57Speaker 1: anything at mister Burns. And then she makes ate the
- 37:00Speaker 1: rotten pumpkin. What a petting in this episode more than
- 37:04Speaker 1: I thought? And then and then mister burn says. They
- 37:07Speaker 1: continue for some time until and then ar going back
- 37:11Speaker 1: and forth. I'm not gonna eat it, Yes, you are
- 37:13Speaker 1: gonna eat it? Whatever, and then he eats the rotten pumpkin.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Margin goes shopping because the mall is always deserted during
- 37:18Speaker 1: a riot.
- 37:20Speaker 3: But it wasn't right though, well when when my was
- 37:26Speaker 3: selling his rotten vegetables and stuff, it was like turn.
- 37:29Speaker 1: This gathering into a riot something there? Who knows? And
- 37:32Speaker 1: just what might that be? This is my lunch, really, okay,
- 37:38Speaker 1: eat your lunch, but you set it your lunch, eat it,
- 37:41Speaker 1: eat my lunch, yes, and joy okay I will, He
- 37:46Speaker 1: continued for some time in this vein. Until you don't
- 37:49Speaker 1: think I'm going to I don't see any chilling, okay,
- 37:52Speaker 1: not air bites, real bites she says, go play with Lisa.
- 37:57Speaker 1: He says, you don't play with Lisa. You played despite her,
- 38:00Speaker 1: and Lisa says they might need each other for organ
- 38:02Speaker 1: transplants it one day, so maybe we should be nice
- 38:04Speaker 1: to each other. She offers to show him the ant farm,
- 38:07Speaker 1: and they bicker over it because they don't like each
- 38:09Speaker 1: other anymore. No one likes anyone. Margin doesn't like home.
- 38:12Speaker 1: She makes me the rotten pumpkin. Bart doesn't like Lease.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Lisa doesn't like Bart. Where's Maggie? Second episode straight, Where's Maggie? Wow?
- 38:18Speaker 1: Called DHS Yeah. Burns Now arrives at prison and he
- 38:23Speaker 1: says to Smith's you're now running the power plant and
- 38:25Speaker 1: he says, well, since I'm telling the story, I'm gonna
- 38:28Speaker 1: make it rain. And he said that's not traumatic enough,
- 38:30Speaker 1: and he makes it start snowing, and then frostbite took
- 38:33Speaker 1: his nose. Excellent. That's the voice over speaking, by the way,
- 38:37Speaker 1: now where in the prison he's giving up his items.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I've always thought this is interesting. So people get arrested, right,
- 38:43Speaker 1: and they get you know, pat down by the cops,
- 38:45Speaker 1: but they get to prison. The voice still got ship
- 38:46Speaker 1: their pockets. Give me your stuff. It's like you got this,
- 38:50Speaker 1: you got that, and like actually happened. Yeah.
- 38:53Speaker 3: I think if I was going to prison, I'd just
- 38:55Speaker 3: be having I'd be carrying very little.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah. So he's got one movie stuff from Chilli's Punctured
- 38:59Speaker 1: Romance and Mark bribe which is empty. Well it had
- 39:03Speaker 1: a bribe in it. Oh yeah yeah, but he took
- 39:05Speaker 1: it out, it says, yeah empty. Yeah. Then the social
- 39:09Speaker 1: Security card, which he says is not a social Security card,
- 39:11Speaker 1: is something else. Here's the thing.
- 39:12Speaker 3: I thought this could have been better. I thought this
- 39:14Speaker 3: could have been a pretty funny Gaga in terms of
- 39:17Speaker 3: like one social Security card that's not social Security. You
- 39:21Speaker 3: cut to the card that's got s S on it.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Oh, he is a napty. I didn't say it was
- 39:26Speaker 1: going to be a great gig, but it could have
- 39:27Speaker 1: been better. A yes. Then the blackmails that's very it's
- 39:32Speaker 1: very reverse Blues Brothers this as well. You know the
- 39:34Speaker 1: start with frank Gosh with frank O's one one proofh
- 39:39Speaker 1: electic one swilled, then the black and then he tries
- 39:43Speaker 1: to blackmail the warden with potential info that he hasn't
- 39:46Speaker 1: quite got yet, and it says he's addicted to something
- 39:48Speaker 1: that starts with age, which he says, hams, I no,
- 39:51Speaker 1: he's got more than three letters, and he kicks him
- 39:53Speaker 1: out and it turns out he's addicted to heal helium.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Is that a thing from Last Last Castle? Think it's
- 39:59Speaker 1: just prick, wasn't he in Shawshank in the Last Castle?
- 40:03Speaker 1: In the Last Well?
- 40:04Speaker 3: In Last Castle? Because it's Robert Redford is this war
- 40:06Speaker 3: hero has been sent to the stockade. James Ganelfini is
- 40:10Speaker 3: the warden, and he really admires Robert Redvord, and Robert
- 40:12Speaker 3: Redford's like, now, this guy's a chump. The guy, this guy,
- 40:16Speaker 3: this warden is a dead ringer for the Shawshank. Okay, yeah,
- 40:20Speaker 3: in terms of his look and his glasses and everything
- 40:22Speaker 3: like that.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Has he did it to it? He's not addicted to
- 40:23Speaker 1: anything except fraudulent schemes that make him money.
- 40:27Speaker 3: With the help of Tim Robbins, Shaw Shanks good movie.
- 40:30Speaker 3: I'm going to petition Leonard Moulton and say, hey, let's
- 40:34Speaker 3: do the Shawshank Redemption.
- 40:35Speaker 1: When did it come out? What year ninety four? I believe?
- 40:37Speaker 1: So Tim Robinson, Anything Soon, Morgan Freeman's Anything Soon not
- 40:43Speaker 1: really just a good movie. It's just a good movie.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Sometimes you just need a good movie. That's correct. You
- 40:49Speaker 1: get to be our motto. He gets hosed down in
- 40:51Speaker 1: the shower and the mugshot takes the photo and the
- 40:54Speaker 1: flash sends him back and shoots him back as well.
- 40:56Speaker 1: It's time for a cavity search. She says he hasn't
- 40:58Speaker 1: had one in forty years. I wasn't talking to your teeth,
- 41:00Speaker 1: and he says, nor was I not completely unfunny. No,
- 41:05Speaker 1: Then he meets his roommate and it's a guy from
- 41:08Speaker 1: Dartmouth and he wants out immediately because he's a snob. Yes.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Then Lisa is admiring the ants and she realizes they're
- 41:15Speaker 1: not eating anything. It's because Bart has already fed them
- 41:17Speaker 1: a pop tart, which wasn't locally farmed or sourced. And
- 41:21Speaker 1: Bart says, I'm so glad I'm not your kid. If
- 41:23Speaker 1: I was in your tummy, i'd pooh in your throat.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I was like, what is going on here? Under different circumstances,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I could think Throatah, it's a it's a fun, gross
- 41:35Speaker 1: kid gag that you would make to someone to gross
- 41:38Speaker 1: them out. And it's like, oh, well, yeah, when I
- 41:41Speaker 1: was When I was I was taking dumps all the
- 41:44Speaker 1: times like, oh, that's gross. There would always be a
- 41:47Speaker 1: kid at school who would probably say something that was
- 41:49Speaker 1: like when you were a baby, you know you were
- 41:50Speaker 1: sitting in your mum's tummy.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Well, no, no, what happened to you're going to drink it?
- 41:57Speaker 3: You were swimming around your own piss. There was always
- 42:03Speaker 3: some kid who had the ability for that, who had
- 42:05Speaker 3: the ability to come up with just like the worst
- 42:07Speaker 3: off color stuff.
- 42:07Speaker 1: And he's always the one that ruins ruined Christmas for you.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Oh but then they fight over the farm and they
- 42:14Speaker 1: splits open. The dog eats up all the ants except
- 42:16Speaker 1: for one. Lessa rescues him or her. I should say,
- 42:19Speaker 1: who knows it's an end? And then Bart says, I
- 42:23Speaker 1: will never forgive you for this, says or how but
- 42:25Speaker 1: licks his face. Ah. Then Lisa says the same to Bart,
- 42:27Speaker 1: and Bart licks her face, but not to forgiveness, just
- 42:30Speaker 1: to annoy her. Sure Spinners then moves into mister Burns's office.
- 42:34Speaker 1: They never wanted this job, but I've got it, and
- 42:36Speaker 1: he sees it. It's a chance to be an employee
- 42:38Speaker 1: friendly boss. So he hosts he hos a worker meeting.
- 42:42Speaker 1: He says he's going have a better health plan and
- 42:44Speaker 1: a suggestion box with no gill a team, which I
- 42:45Speaker 1: thought was quite funny because he says something. He says,
- 42:49Speaker 1: productive workers are happy workers. Now you could have lappy
- 42:52Speaker 1: workers are productive workers? Yeah, yeah, sorry, God, they're back, yes.
- 42:57Speaker 3: But you lay the seeds for that little early when
- 43:00Speaker 3: all the employees are sort of milling around at the
- 43:03Speaker 3: Fourth of July parties like, oh, well they're not. They
- 43:05Speaker 3: hate being here, so they're not doing anything.
- 43:08Speaker 1: You know.
- 43:09Speaker 3: It's like, well, maybe the opposite, that's true, you know,
- 43:11Speaker 3: if if they if they're happy, they'll work there.
- 43:13Speaker 1: I want to be here. Yeah, I don't know. It's
- 43:16Speaker 1: not necessarily something that is going to be a laugh
- 43:20Speaker 1: a minute or something like that, but it's just a
- 43:21Speaker 1: nice little thing. At the start. Your brain would get
- 43:23Speaker 1: it again, though, this should have been an entire episode,
- 43:25Speaker 1: should have Smith's turning to the dark side. Do you
- 43:27Speaker 1: think happy workers are productive workers? I think so. Yeah. Well,
- 43:30Speaker 1: if you want to be then you feel like you
- 43:32Speaker 1: respected career. Why a lot of us aren't working in
- 43:34Speaker 1: certain places anymore anyway. So Lisa now has Annie the
- 43:37Speaker 1: aunt in a bag because little orphan Annie, it's the
- 43:39Speaker 1: only ant left Homer thinks that she said though, because
- 43:42Speaker 1: she says the butt you kill all the ants, and
- 43:44Speaker 1: she he thought that she said aunts. And he thinks
- 43:47Speaker 1: Patty and Summer are dead. He celebrates and then he
- 43:50Speaker 1: sees them and screams and runs away. Even this with
- 43:55Speaker 1: Homer just being so happy about the death of Patty
- 43:59Speaker 1: and so, I mean, no, they don't get along and
- 44:01Speaker 1: all that, But just the way it's phrasing this, it's like, wow,
- 44:04Speaker 1: you're kind of me Well, why that doesn't work anymore?
- 44:07Speaker 1: It's because we've had episodes where Homer like genuinely helps
- 44:10Speaker 1: like some get a baby, and it's just it doesn't
- 44:13Speaker 1: work anymore. It worked in the beginning. It's just the
- 44:16Speaker 1: OLDEO stereotypical the in laws and the sisters that don't
- 44:20Speaker 1: like Homeorkay anything. He's good enough for March. But it's
- 44:21Speaker 1: just like they've had we've had stories now where they've
- 44:25Speaker 1: not smooth things over but being nice to each other. Sure,
- 44:28Speaker 1: who cares that, it's just season twenty one Simpsons whatever.
- 44:32Speaker 1: We're out back at the prison yard and burn Burns
- 44:34Speaker 1: is trying to choose which sorority wants to join the Shiners.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Who's the ROTC Shriners.
- 44:41Speaker 3: The rt C is it's like the military cadets. I think,
- 44:45Speaker 3: look I forgot what it actually stands for.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Or google ROTC is, see what comes up. Reserve Officers
- 44:51Speaker 1: Training Corps. Yeah, yeah, it's basically the college version of
- 44:54Speaker 1: military cadets. The Sunday Funnies, I think. He says, well,
- 44:57Speaker 1: they've all got tats all over them, so yeah. Yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 1: and then John Coffee I guess who it is, yeah,
- 45:01Speaker 1: grabs him and says he's mine, and he screams out
- 45:04Speaker 1: to the warden to help him. But the warden is high,
- 45:07Speaker 1: literally on helium on helium now at Mose and the
- 45:11Speaker 1: guys are just really happy with Smithers. They think he's
- 45:13Speaker 1: the best boss ever. But we haven't seen any of it.
- 45:15Speaker 1: You just said, you guys, you know, I think a
- 45:17Speaker 1: happy workers of productive workers. But we don't see him
- 45:20Speaker 1: being nice, and there's none of it. It's just cutting
- 45:22Speaker 1: to them going, you're a great boss, Mithers. And then
- 45:25Speaker 1: Homer flushes his man boobs at him. Yeah.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Cut out, as I said, cut out all the Leisa
- 45:31Speaker 3: stuff and flesh out the existing stuff. I mean what
- 45:34Speaker 3: you were saying, what we were talking about, just a
- 45:36Speaker 3: minute ago with which gang?
- 45:38Speaker 1: Shall I joint?
- 45:39Speaker 3: Have a scene where he's like hanging with all of them,
- 45:43Speaker 3: you know, have a scene where he's like in a
- 45:45Speaker 3: do rag and he's joined the Latino. Okay, and you
- 45:47Speaker 3: hear Lowrider on the soundtrack or something. You know, you
- 45:50Speaker 3: got money, give it to the w A I have
- 45:52Speaker 3: a low Rider or you know, have him shave he says, oh,
- 45:55Speaker 3: not a good look.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Get a tattoo or something. Yeah, yeah, get like some.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Awful tattoo that he's yeah, good to have to have
- 46:04Speaker 3: that fixed or something like, I don't anything, yeah but something.
- 46:08Speaker 3: But these could all be fun little gags, you know,
- 46:11Speaker 3: just trying all these different gangs on his eyes. Or
- 46:14Speaker 3: he's so racist that even the NATS is like kicking
- 46:16Speaker 3: him out.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I did it. But somehow it becomes the guy leading
- 46:24Speaker 1: the prison yard essentially. Yes, he becomes the shot caller,
- 46:27Speaker 1: and then it's him versus the warden.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Sure, yeah and yeah, and then John Cos has to
- 46:32Speaker 3: step in. Yeah you know, no, this jar works on
- 46:35Speaker 3: a certain set of rules, and you're breaking all those rules.
- 46:38Speaker 3: So I've got to Yeah, I've got to fix you.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a whole story there which they just decided
- 46:42Speaker 1: not to do, and see we got this wet d.
- 46:45Speaker 1: So they all love Smithers r. Most. Then he has
- 46:48Speaker 1: to They ask if he can leave earlier the next day,
- 46:50Speaker 1: because Homer says, my kid has a thing, and then
- 46:52Speaker 1: Karl says, I've got to do something as well. They
- 46:54Speaker 1: all basically we want to leave work early tomorrow, so
- 46:56Speaker 1: there's a grease. Lets him do it. I think, gets
- 46:58Speaker 1: a phone call from I think it's a mechanic, Yes, yeah,
- 47:01Speaker 1: saying can you rate my performance as your mechanic or whatever? Anyway,
- 47:05Speaker 1: and even then he's like five five four five, actually
- 47:08Speaker 1: go back four or five, then comes back in and
- 47:10Speaker 1: overhears him just being an absolute yeah prick to Smithers, smit,
- 47:15Speaker 1: it's what a marshmallow. I don't have a thing with
- 47:18Speaker 1: my kid tomorrow. You told me you did. I do,
- 47:21Speaker 1: but I'm not going to it. To Smithers, the world's
- 47:24Speaker 1: dumbest loser, there's nothing sweeter than being nice to a
- 47:27Speaker 1: guy's face and then stab at him in the back
- 47:29Speaker 1: the minute he walks away. All right, that's it. You know,
- 47:34Speaker 1: I used to wonder why mister Burns hated humanity. Now
- 47:38Speaker 1: I know you open your heart and they mock your
- 47:41Speaker 1: very decency. We make very decency again. It makes you
- 47:47Speaker 1: lose sympathy for these characters. Yeah, just have them say, yeah,
- 47:52Speaker 1: just have a homer say my kid does everything, and
- 47:54Speaker 1: I wouldn't go anywhere, or I didn't need to have that.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Smithers is such a kid. Just didn't it any of
- 48:00Speaker 1: that anyway. But the custs of the guys cleaning up.
- 48:02Speaker 1: We got the best brand silly insulation best not the
- 48:05Speaker 1: best asbestus, which I didn't mind. But yeah, again, you
- 48:08Speaker 1: deserve this exactly. You had a good boss and you'd
- 48:11Speaker 1: just been a prick. Then the sale mate is telling
- 48:14Speaker 1: the story about Helter Skelter, so it rips the pati
- 48:16Speaker 1: if that's from dream mile or no, it's not sure
- 48:18Speaker 1: shape shape, Yeah. And the good book, which is Helter
- 48:22Speaker 1: Skelter is the book tries getting Burns to come to Jesus,
- 48:25Speaker 1: sucks out all the pre evil, then the evil out
- 48:27Speaker 1: of him, and then he feels it coursing through his veins,
- 48:29Speaker 1: all the goodness, and he joins the choir, he joins
- 48:32Speaker 1: the Prison Beetles Tribute band. He's raked the zen Garden,
- 48:35Speaker 1: and then and then that's when I was writing that down,
- 48:37Speaker 1: and I'll look up and Snake is watching Bob in
- 48:40Speaker 1: a dry and what happened here? Now, Annie, she's only
- 48:45Speaker 1: carrying thirty times her weight as opposed to fifty. I
- 48:48Speaker 1: don't want to throw a shout out to ants. You know,
- 48:51Speaker 1: we spray them, we step on them, we probably kill it.
- 48:54Speaker 1: The average person kills one hudred out to day by
- 48:55Speaker 1: just walking around or something. They are incredible creatures. Oh goodness,
- 48:59Speaker 1: yet yeah, unbelievable, Like I've said, I definitely have said this,
- 49:03Speaker 1: but Nicholas. One of my favorite things Nichol ever did
- 49:05Speaker 1: was a job interview, right, and they said what elephant?
- 49:07Speaker 1: That's sorry? What animal do you most represent? And she
- 49:10Speaker 1: said an aunt because I work best in a team.
- 49:13Speaker 1: And then I was like, job is yours? Like I
- 49:17Speaker 1: would never think to say I'm an aunt because I'm
- 49:19Speaker 1: strong willed, I'm a hard worker and I work well
- 49:22Speaker 1: on a team, and I can carry fifty times my
- 49:24Speaker 1: own weight. Yeah she probably can. There to Nicholas, been
- 49:27Speaker 1: working out, she's jacked. Probably she's doing this thing called
- 49:30Speaker 1: high rocks. Yes, yeah, I think I told you.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, I mean that's part of the forty five thing,
- 49:34Speaker 3: which is what I do. Yeah, I've known you haven't
- 49:36Speaker 3: known how Jack, Diane, I'll cover you a lot with
- 49:39Speaker 3: your north face. That's correct, I'll show you my man
- 49:42Speaker 3: exist anymore, just.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Rock hard pecks. But so she's only carrying thirty times
- 49:47Speaker 1: her weight, and Marge walks by with you seeing Marg
- 49:49Speaker 1: walking by in the back of with cat chow, and
- 49:51Speaker 1: then Bart thinks we should let her go because she
- 49:53Speaker 1: doesn't even have a few days left of life. Let
- 49:55Speaker 1: her free instead of dying in captivity like Grandpa. Then
- 49:58Speaker 1: is where he walks in and says, I'm not in
- 50:00Speaker 1: captivity in my mind, I'm free. In his mind is
- 50:02Speaker 1: a bubble and he's in a cage. Sure. We're now
- 50:06Speaker 1: back at Moe's and Lenny is complaining that Smithers is
- 50:09Speaker 1: worse than Burns, and I'm like, because you're addictive fault.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Then he says he almost he releases wolverines instead of
- 50:16Speaker 1: the hounds and homes. So I can't believe him saying this,
- 50:18Speaker 1: but I wish Burns was back. Moe brings up the
- 50:20Speaker 1: idea of busting him out of prison, and they all
- 50:23Speaker 1: exchange looks. It's too late to turn back now, He's no, no,
- 50:25Speaker 1: it's not too late until you have a whispering huddle.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Have a whispering huddle. Yeah, I mean sorry, I don't.
- 50:31Speaker 3: I don't want to keep fixing this episode because I
- 50:33Speaker 3: could probably turn it into a yeah bloody epic saga
- 50:36Speaker 3: or something like that. But I I like the whole
- 50:38Speaker 3: idea of Yeah, Smithers having this responsibility thrust upon him,
- 50:42Speaker 3: not wanting to be a bad boss, but having to
- 50:45Speaker 3: be a bad boss because the workers will take advantage
- 50:47Speaker 3: of him. He's like, oh, I have I overreached by
- 50:49Speaker 3: replacing the hands with wolverines and feeling bad about it,
- 50:51Speaker 3: And underneath he feels bad and he's happy to have
- 50:54Speaker 3: Burns back and that restores the status quo.
- 50:57Speaker 1: So that's good. I think this episode needs to end
- 51:01Speaker 1: with Burns being back in charge of a plant and
- 51:03Speaker 1: him saying to the guys because I feel like, take
- 51:06Speaker 1: all this bit out where they're being dicks to him, right,
- 51:08Speaker 1: have Smith is being corrupted, but not because the guys
- 51:10Speaker 1: are crueled to him. He's corrupted for other manners. And
- 51:13Speaker 1: at the end, burn says, do this or whatever, and
- 51:15Speaker 1: the Smith comes back and goes when you feel like
- 51:17Speaker 1: it or something, just to sort of show. There's good
- 51:19Speaker 1: in there still, yes you know, yes, yes, I'm just
- 51:23Speaker 1: something I don't know. But we're now in real time
- 51:26Speaker 1: and the guys are now just randomly wear in prison
- 51:28Speaker 1: guard outfits and they're taking Burns out, who doesn't want
- 51:30Speaker 1: to leave. He doesn't want to leave, but then he says,
- 51:32Speaker 1: before we continue, first, I'm going to daydream about sports
- 51:34Speaker 1: utility vehicle, a sandwich and a blue pill. Apparently because
- 51:38Speaker 1: that's a commercial break, I's cut to the end. Yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 1: we come back and the sale mate is trying to
- 51:43Speaker 1: stop them from escaping. Then custom button Leasa releasing Annie
- 51:47Speaker 1: and Santas sort Helpoul just walk by an itto. That's
- 51:49Speaker 1: the end of that story. There's pointless, absolutely pointless to it.
- 51:52Speaker 1: There was, there was something you could have done with it,
- 51:53Speaker 1: but there's no point to this one. Burns then decides
- 51:56Speaker 1: to leave because he still had some evil between his toes.
- 51:58Speaker 1: He's still a mean but he's ever a more mean
- 52:00Speaker 1: bastard now than he was before. I don't know, It's
- 52:02Speaker 1: like we have to Burns being evil again.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Okay again, Sorry, here's a fix it. Not a fix it,
- 52:07Speaker 3: but you know something about it? How when John Coffee
- 52:12Speaker 3: is sucking all the evil out of him. Make that
- 52:15Speaker 3: like a Cape far gag where it's like there's still
- 52:18Speaker 3: evil in you. Yeah, he's sucking it out for like,
- 52:20Speaker 3: but cut away to something else. You know, still going
- 52:23Speaker 3: break come back from them. Bak, he's still suck How.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Much boy you got in here? Who can tell? You know?
- 52:29Speaker 3: At the ends, like I thought, I got all that
- 52:31Speaker 3: evil out of you. Good luck it's a buttomless pit
- 52:35Speaker 3: or something along those. I guess that's what he's saying
- 52:37Speaker 3: with it A little bit still between my toes. It
- 52:39Speaker 3: would have been nice if there's sort of a little bit.
- 52:41Speaker 3: John Coffee says, I still think there's some good and
- 52:44Speaker 3: new mister Burns whatever, And maybe mister Burns gets used
- 52:47Speaker 3: his power, his privileged to get John Cofee aut of
- 52:50Speaker 3: prison and he gets a job.
- 52:51Speaker 1: At the power plant. Sure, I don't know what we're
- 52:54Speaker 1: doing is trying to fix this one. We went into this.
- 52:58Speaker 3: One thinking, ohew, Lisa's greatst story of a dog. But
- 53:01Speaker 3: I think we're finding a lot more holes.
- 53:02Speaker 1: But there's potential here. There's no potential with the we've really.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Sort of tapped out halfway through the greatest stories, like uh,
- 53:10Speaker 3: a redeemer, I don't care. Yeah, it's like we're really
- 53:14Speaker 3: trying to.
- 53:14Speaker 1: Genuinely good episode in here somewhere. Sure burns and arrives
- 53:18Speaker 1: as Smithers is pacing around the office. He kicks them
- 53:20Speaker 1: all out, including Smithers, and looks at the photo of
- 53:22Speaker 1: the sale mate and a cust to him with fat tony,
- 53:25Speaker 1: Uh have you heard about Jesus? Like? I am Italian?
- 53:29Speaker 1: Do you think I know about this? But go away
- 53:31Speaker 1: and then burns things over the credits. I've got no problems.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Bluest Heartbreak Hotel? I think it was. Yeah, it was
- 53:36Speaker 1: a prison blues falsome.
- 53:39Speaker 3: It doesn't sound like foalsome prisons do doo. That's heartbreak Hotel,
- 53:43Speaker 3: isn't it.
- 53:45Speaker 1: It's really the tune of heartbreak Hotel, Break Hotel. He goes,
- 53:49Speaker 1: dirt Dirt, Dirt dirt? Is it okay? Because the rock
- 53:55Speaker 1: is to do a parody of it called SmackDown Hotel.
- 53:57Speaker 1: He goes, it's at the end of ja Brawny Driver
- 54:00Speaker 1: SmackDown Hotel. The rock is the big fun like that
- 54:06Speaker 1: stand up your caddy ass. Lots of anal stags. Shut up.
- 54:12Speaker 1: That's the best reply for anyone on Twitter. So I said,
- 54:16Speaker 1: shut up, bitch, gender neutral by the way, he's saying
- 54:20Speaker 1: it to a male though, yeah, shut up, bitch. We
- 54:26Speaker 1: need more heel turns from the Rock on the big screen.
- 54:28Speaker 1: But he wasn't a heel when he said that, though,
- 54:29Speaker 1: I no know. But he's so good at being gonners.
- 54:33Speaker 1: That's why. That's why he's rolling in fast and furious movies.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Was the best. It's like, oh, you're kind of an
- 54:39Speaker 1: antagonist and yeah, kind of a big swaggering prick. Yeah,
- 54:41Speaker 1: I like it, and and that's the end of the episode.
- 54:45Speaker 1: But American History excellent, which trailed off because like, oh, yeah,
- 54:50Speaker 1: that's the episode. Let's talk about the Rock. The American
- 54:52Speaker 1: History excellent. I enjoyed this lot more than last week.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I do think there was a lot of potential in
- 54:57Speaker 1: this one, which I have said a lot. It's just
- 54:59Speaker 1: a shame that they was to be, as I said,
- 55:00Speaker 1: focus more on parroting things as opposed to actually telling
- 55:03Speaker 1: a soul story. Correct. Yes, what do we learn? Bomb?
- 55:07Speaker 1: So what do you learn from the episode, mister Davis?
- 55:10Speaker 3: If I want to be serious, I could say that
- 55:12Speaker 3: I found out what the Beatle actually is. But really
- 55:16Speaker 3: the lesson that you learn from this is that men
- 55:18Speaker 3: of wealth can beat the system.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Now they can. Indeed, Yeah, I learned that if a
- 55:21Speaker 1: perfect place to hide something is in between you toes
- 55:23Speaker 1: apparently can check and what is it?
- 55:29Speaker 2: Is?
- 55:29Speaker 1: Evil? Hasn't he kept some evil? Evil? Evil? Yes? From
- 55:34Speaker 1: miss me forward, your name will be all right, It's

- 58:42Speaker 1: a Chief Wigham. That's where the Chief comes into it.
- 58:44Speaker 1: So we'll find out. It's very good to hopefully we're

- 59:07Speaker 3: a miracle of measure and harmony,
