- 1:01Speaker 7: her national title after a positive cannabis test. Did you
- 1:05Speaker 7: guys see that or hear about that? I just think
- 1:08Speaker 7: weeds should not be a test that you test positive
- 1:12Speaker 7: for and get stripped of a title as Steven.
- 1:14Speaker 1: They would say, put down the weed. No, I think
- 1:19Speaker 1: you can.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I think you should be able to smoke weed.
- 1:21Speaker 8: I mean, look at how many basketball players do well.
- 1:25Speaker 7: Is now in the NBA, and now it's not they
- 1:29Speaker 7: don't test for it.
- 1:30Speaker 1: They don't test for it. You say it's legal, yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: hell yeah. They used to do random drug tests.
- 1:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I mean listen, man, these athletes are going through a
- 1:39Speaker 1: lot of hurting with their body in marijuana helps.
- 1:44Speaker 7: Are they allowed to drink? See, that's the crazy thing. Yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 7: they're allowed to drink.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Drink, and that's I don't know why they're doing that.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Then that it don't make sense. I'm allowed to cuss.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Right, yeah?
- 1:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 7: Todd Reese is ordered to pay over half a million
- 2:02Speaker 7: thousand child support and legal fees.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Got to see that, God, I saw a quarter million.
- 2:06Speaker 4: It's half now for a quarter.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Million, half a million, let me look it up.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Just raising a man child support one hundred and thirty
- 2:13Speaker 1: six thousand, forty four dollars in.
- 2:16Speaker 7: Support and legal fees to his ex wife, Samantha Lee Gibson.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I'm going missing.
- 2:21Speaker 5: And he was recently trying to do a protest out there.
- 2:24Speaker 7: So the initial outside of the courthouse, Yeah, K, you alright,
- 2:28Speaker 7: in your initial two hundred and thirty seven thousand, nine
- 2:31Speaker 7: hundred and forty four, but with legal fees and uh yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 7: sorry for her child support, it's six hundred and thirty
- 2:37Speaker 7: six thousand.
- 2:38Speaker 3: One hundred thousand, nine hundred.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I ain't got no kids, no kids, man, what would
- 2:43Speaker 1: you do in that scenario?
- 2:45Speaker 3: You reason want to pay?
- 2:48Speaker 2: I had to figure out how to pay that. That's
- 2:51Speaker 2: why I'm glad.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I six hundred thousand or an ex wife because his
- 2:54Speaker 5: spouse is support.
- 2:55Speaker 3: We're all gonna have to come for me. I'm going missing.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I mean hundred thousand, six hundred thousand. It's subjective. It
- 3:02Speaker 2: depends on how much money he got, man, it don't matter.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Don't nobody want to pay six hundred thousand, agreed, And
- 3:10Speaker 1: he's paying for her lawyer and legal fees, and he
- 3:12Speaker 1: got to pay for his legal fees. Then what they
- 3:16Speaker 1: say with support, what they say in that Leo movie,
- 3:17Speaker 1: Catch Me if you can.
- 3:19Speaker 8: I mean, you got a Fast five or Fast and Furious,
- 3:22Speaker 8: you know that franchise, keep going.
- 3:24Speaker 7: I don't think he's gonna get that big ass check
- 3:26Speaker 7: from that. Yeah, yeah, he's not getting diesel.
- 3:30Speaker 8: But isn't it based off your income and stuff the
- 3:32Speaker 8: reason why he has to pay someone?
- 3:33Speaker 7: But if it's it's a talent though, so you don't
- 3:38Speaker 7: pay some ship is a talent.
- 3:40Speaker 1: That's like randomly somebody telling you, hey, you're back six
- 3:44Speaker 1: hundred thousand in the whole You're.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Gonna be like, hey man, I wasn't planning to pay
- 3:47Speaker 3: this ship.
- 3:47Speaker 7: So you know it's over two thousand dollars. So you
- 3:49Speaker 7: can't leave the country like you can't.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You can't imagine going to the airport and trying to
- 3:55Speaker 1: go on the run and they say, hey man, you
- 3:57Speaker 1: got child.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Support, so it's not even worse it bro go on
- 4:00Speaker 2: on run though. You just gotta figure it out.
- 4:02Speaker 3: He's two famous going to run. He can't do that. Yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 3: you got it? We are you gonna grow hair? We're
- 4:08Speaker 3: playing for you, tar Re Uh No, we're not, okay.
- 4:11Speaker 7: Dean Sam loses over twenty Colorado football players to the
- 4:15Speaker 7: transport portal or your football personal k.
- 4:17Speaker 4: It used to be not as much anymore, but you
- 4:21Speaker 4: are familiar with.
- 4:22Speaker 7: Yeah that Colorado State twenty football players have entered the
- 4:26Speaker 7: transfer portal. I think these guys, these are the guys
- 4:29Speaker 7: that ain't gonna be getting no playing time?
- 4:31Speaker 3: Oh they're leaving.
- 4:32Speaker 7: Yeah, they're leading because he then brought some boys over
- 4:35Speaker 7: there to get them all playing.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Dogs over there to son, including his son.
- 4:39Speaker 4: So is it son good?
- 4:40Speaker 5: Hell? Yeah?
- 4:41Speaker 3: Son good?
- 4:42Speaker 7: Okay, that's his cousin. Now it's on five Okay. Then
- 4:51Speaker 7: he had the number one recruit a wide receivers older.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I think yeah, I mean I would leave too, I
- 4:57Speaker 1: would leave to It was probably some some boys over
- 4:59Speaker 1: there that when that athletic and they brought them athletic
- 5:02Speaker 1: boys over there, and they was like, hey, John, we
- 5:06Speaker 1: probably need to transfer it because I don't think you
- 5:08Speaker 1: pay this shit.
- 5:11Speaker 3: All right, man, let's take a quick commercial. But when
- 5:12Speaker 3: we can get back, we're gonna.
- 5:13Speaker 7: Talk to i DK getting his business and talk to

- 5:37Speaker 3: We appreciate you pulling up on us, man.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Where's I DK from.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I'm from the d m v PG County, Maryland.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Parents know my.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Mom from shit all, my dad from Ghana. Yeah.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I was born in England. I came here when
- 5:54Speaker 2: I was two years old. Oh wow, I got three passports.
- 5:58Speaker 5: So you're kind of like a twenty one savage.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Sin in a sense. I guess that's what black people say. Yeah, uh,
- 6:03Speaker 4: how long have you been doing music?
- 6:05Speaker 1: In?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Went twenty twelve when I got out of uh prison,
- 6:08Speaker 2: That's when I started really taking trying to do music seriously.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Oh why were you in prison?
- 6:13Speaker 4: Robberie was the the case that I had.
- 6:16Speaker 7: But yeah, uh, what made you? You know, say, you
- 6:19Speaker 7: know what? H I'm done with that?
- 6:22Speaker 3: He went to prison?
- 6:23Speaker 4: Let's go music?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Was this?
- 6:24Speaker 4: I don't weall? No? That was like my fourth time though.
- 6:26Speaker 2: So wait, it was the fourth time going to prison,
- 6:29Speaker 2: fourth prison in jail, So I.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Was state prison I came from.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I was in jail three hundred jail three times, and
- 6:36Speaker 2: then from jail the last time I went up the
- 6:39Speaker 2: road to y'all c I think y'all call it down
- 6:41Speaker 2: the road here, but up the road, yeah, up the
- 6:44Speaker 2: road to state President and I started doing music. What
- 6:47Speaker 2: was the point where you say, you know what, at
- 6:50Speaker 2: the first time, it's just that prison reform like all that,
- 6:52Speaker 2: like you know, people fighting for all that stuff. Is
- 6:55Speaker 2: it's real because I only got in trouble once, but
- 6:58Speaker 2: I had violations for not paying home detention, not coming
- 7:02Speaker 2: home on time, like.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Little stuff like that.
- 7:04Speaker 3: So it's like it's like it's like a system exactly.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That's the system that Meek Mills talks about to where
- 7:10Speaker 1: they make it to where you're going to make a
- 7:12Speaker 1: small mistake to go back.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Exactly, That's exactly what it was. So I didn't really
- 7:16Speaker 2: get in trouble again. It just was more so like
- 7:19Speaker 2: the first time, I learned my lesson. But it's just
- 7:22Speaker 2: the way the system is set up. It's hard to
- 7:24Speaker 2: like stay out.
- 7:25Speaker 7: So but it's been a while since. So what changed
- 7:28Speaker 7: that you said, you know what.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I wasn't on probation, no more parole.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Nah, But nah, to be fair, I haven't gotten in
- 7:39Speaker 2: any issues and nothing like that since you know, even if.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I was on probation and parole, so I parolled out.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I was supposed to stay there the last time for
- 7:48Speaker 4: a year. I got out in seven months.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Because of parole because mainly because I was already like
- 7:55Speaker 2: in school doing all like stuff like that before I
- 7:58Speaker 2: went back to prison. So they're all right, you could
- 8:00Speaker 2: function in the society.
- 8:03Speaker 3: So is that what parole means?
- 8:05Speaker 1: Like that they look at you as like somebody who
- 8:07Speaker 1: can be functional in society when you yeah, out of.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Probation is different. Probation is way more mild. Probation is like,
- 8:15Speaker 2: don't smoke weed, you know, get pitted tests if you
- 8:18Speaker 2: even have that.
- 8:19Speaker 4: It's way more lenient.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Parole is like, if you get in trouble, you're going
- 8:23Speaker 2: straight back to prison.
- 8:25Speaker 3: So that's like the three the three strike rule.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Nah, that's a whole nother thing. I think that's more
- 8:30Speaker 2: like la too oh god like, but three strikes is like,
- 8:33Speaker 2: you get in trouble, get out, Get in trouble, get out.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So I've seen I've seen that your video was posted
- 8:40Speaker 1: and you made a music video about you, you.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Know, having some altercation with the law. Was that real?
- 8:47Speaker 4: Nahn? That was real situations?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Though?
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was that video looks real, man.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I was like, damn they was whooping your ass the police.
- 9:00Speaker 5: The entire time when you was in prison. Was your
- 9:02Speaker 5: music popping off at any time?
- 9:04Speaker 4: Nah, I didn't even start doing music.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I started because I used to memorize the beats on
- 9:09Speaker 2: the radio, and so you got like the first when
- 9:13Speaker 2: I went in, there was like no Instagram, none of that.
- 9:17Speaker 4: When I got out, it was Instagram and.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Chief Keith, you know what I'm saying, so real like
- 9:22Speaker 2: so like I was listening to the beats on the
- 9:26Speaker 2: on the radio sign and and I wo memorize him
- 9:31Speaker 2: and just start rapping. But I used to help people
- 9:33Speaker 2: get their GD so I was a tutor in prison
- 9:35Speaker 2: and I used to be and yeah, Hanna Barber, yeah anything.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Talked to some of the people that they still locked up.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Dan my man, my man, he was there eight years
- 9:46Speaker 2: before I got there, and this is eleven years now.
- 9:50Speaker 4: He's still in. He still got five more years.
- 9:53Speaker 5: So how were you able to adjust when you got out?
- 9:56Speaker 4: I mean I wasn't in that long, so you know,
- 10:00Speaker 4: but like.
- 10:01Speaker 8: You said, you know, when you went in, there was
- 10:02Speaker 8: no Instagram. You know, when you.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Got out, it's like a whole new world.
- 10:06Speaker 5: People making money, getting rich off some medio.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I just well, it's funny as when Instagram first started.
- 10:10Speaker 2: So it's twenty twelve, so I think it started twenty
- 10:14Speaker 2: eleven or something like that. But basically, when I got out,
- 10:17Speaker 2: everyone kept telling me on the phone like, yeah, you
- 10:19Speaker 2: gotta get Instagram, like what is it like you just
- 10:22Speaker 2: post pictures?
- 10:22Speaker 7: And I'm like, sound that shit sound dumb? Like I
- 10:25Speaker 7: don't know why.
- 10:26Speaker 2: So when I got I remember my first post I
- 10:28Speaker 2: posted it, and it's so funny because I look at
- 10:30Speaker 2: my Instagram now and I'm like, wow, I remember I
- 10:33Speaker 2: got forty likes and it's like, damn, nigga, you got
- 10:36Speaker 2: forty likes?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Is that picture still up?
- 10:41Speaker 4: I can find it, but it ain't on this algorithm.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I ain't nobody getting forty like so less stuff.
- 10:48Speaker 7: So get you get out and now we're doing music.
- 10:52Speaker 7: What's your first song that you go to? You say, okay,
- 10:55Speaker 7: do you have money? Are you going to the studio?
- 10:57Speaker 4: Ah? My man shutout though.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Man he had studio in his basement, and I told
- 11:02Speaker 2: him before I got out, like, look, man, when I
- 11:04Speaker 2: get out, man, I'm really trying to make something of myself. Man,
- 11:07Speaker 2: I ain't got no money to do this. But like
- 11:08Speaker 2: did he believe out for me. Yeah, he believed in me,
- 11:11Speaker 2: and we just worked on that. I was trying to
- 11:13Speaker 2: go back to school and balance that out, but I
- 11:16Speaker 2: just stopped paying attention to school. It went from not
- 11:19Speaker 2: coming to class but being in the like.
- 11:22Speaker 4: In school, to not coming to school.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Who were you at?
- 11:25Speaker 2: I was at PG Community College, and then from not
- 11:28Speaker 2: going to school at all to not registering for a semester.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And then I just was like, I guess this is
- 11:34Speaker 2: what I'm gonna do. So, you know, I had to
- 11:36Speaker 2: really hustle me all my folks to figure out how
- 11:40Speaker 2: to get the money to get the music stuff rolling.
- 11:43Speaker 4: And that took a long time.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You know, that took like because I really my last
- 11:49Speaker 2: job was twenty fifteen. I started rapping twenty twelve, and
- 11:53Speaker 2: then I would say my first million dollars was twenty ninety.
- 12:01Speaker 3: How did that? How did that feel?
- 12:03Speaker 4: It was crazy?
- 12:04Speaker 7: I sent the screenshot about you almost tell your own
- 12:11Speaker 7: boys you got a million sitting in the tell them
- 12:14Speaker 7: because I got the friends where I could do that. Okay,
- 12:16Speaker 7: give me give us the play, Like what happened to
- 12:20Speaker 7: get you to that point?
- 12:22Speaker 5: Did you get that million?
- 12:23Speaker 3: You get that million?
- 12:23Speaker 5: My boy?
- 12:25Speaker 2: I mean before I even made it to that point though,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I probably spent five hundred thousand of my own money
- 12:32Speaker 2: trying to get this moving on your own a lot
- 12:36Speaker 2: of different ways, a lot of different ways.
- 12:40Speaker 4: One of the main ways.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Though, it was just like oh uh, doing like independent
- 12:47Speaker 2: deals one off deals and.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Getting like a couple of hundred thousand all and.
- 12:51Speaker 5: Stuff like that went off, like as far as music goes.
- 12:53Speaker 2: On one album deal with like independent also you just
- 12:56Speaker 2: building it up.
- 12:57Speaker 8: It's kind of like that, yeah, like writing or your
- 13:01Speaker 8: own music or my music.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just I think like one thing I
- 13:05Speaker 2: was able to do, and even to this day, it's
- 13:07Speaker 2: like showing a lot of like really big artists.
- 13:09Speaker 4: They look up to what I do and like respect
- 13:12Speaker 4: what I do.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So I had, like I remember I had a song
- 13:15Speaker 2: with Billie Eilish and all these things.
- 13:17Speaker 4: It wasn't it. It ever came out, but like I had
- 13:19Speaker 4: those kind.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Of stugs of the song.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I still got you better put that ship out. I
- 13:24Speaker 2: got the relationships. So like a lot of the stuff,
- 13:27Speaker 2: like people was willing to like take risks on me,
- 13:29Speaker 2: which it was never really a risk because they all
- 13:31Speaker 2: made their money back, you know what I mean.
- 13:33Speaker 8: So what was the song that put you in these
- 13:36Speaker 8: people's ears?
- 13:37Speaker 4: I don't have one till the day.
- 13:39Speaker 7: There's a bunch of songs and a bunch of to
- 13:43Speaker 7: basically one hundred shows, like I've done like four hundred shows.
- 13:46Speaker 7: But when I just did Coachella, were I went over
- 13:51Speaker 7: the track list once, I rehearsed twice and the third
- 13:55Speaker 7: time doing that set was at Coachella on stage.
- 13:59Speaker 8: Wow, I'm just trying to understand the buzz, Like what
- 14:02Speaker 8: got you to these people's attention?
- 14:06Speaker 5: A whole body of work?
- 14:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it really was like bodies of work?
- 14:09Speaker 5: Okay, because you build an underground presence.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 5: What's a fan favorite?
- 14:14Speaker 8: Because like you said, you built an underground presence and
- 14:18Speaker 8: you know they put you here.
- 14:20Speaker 4: What is what's favorite? What's funny you say that, right?
- 14:23Speaker 2: If I was a main more mainstream artist, I would
- 14:29Speaker 2: have like I would be like Drake in the sense
- 14:31Speaker 2: of my fans. I got so much music that they
- 14:35Speaker 2: like fan favorites. It's hard to even do a whole
- 14:38Speaker 2: hour set now because I don't have enough space to
- 14:40Speaker 2: put all of the songs in. So in my fan
- 14:43Speaker 2: base and in that world that I'm in, there's a
- 14:46Speaker 2: lot of them.
- 14:47Speaker 5: And is this coming from SoundCloud or all that?
- 14:51Speaker 4: Were you?
- 14:51Speaker 5: Where are they usually finding you at.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music? I mean whatever, It's hard to say,
- 15:01Speaker 4: like I got a really unique situation and story. Yes,
- 15:04Speaker 4: it's just continuously like chipping away little by little and
- 15:08Speaker 4: never giving up. That's what.
- 15:09Speaker 1: How did you realize that you had that you were
- 15:12Speaker 1: starting to gain fans and you start to feel like, Okay,
- 15:14Speaker 1: this feels, you know, a little bit different now.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I think, to be honest, it was a big turning
- 15:20Speaker 2: point was I got it randomly got a call from
- 15:23Speaker 2: Kanye and he was just.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Like, yo, I heard about your album. Album wasn't out yet.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 15:28Speaker 4: He's like I would love to hear.
- 15:30Speaker 3: That is crazy.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he was like at some point today cannot connect
- 15:34Speaker 2: with you. And I'm like bet And I went to
- 15:37Speaker 2: his house and he was eating lemon cake.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So you get a random call from Kanye and he's
- 15:44Speaker 1: like he heard you first of all, I know.
- 15:46Speaker 2: He was like, how know you heard my album here?
- 15:48Speaker 2: I know how you heard it eighty A Keys. Well,
- 15:51Speaker 2: he didn't hear the album. He heard about it. EIGHTIEA
- 15:54Speaker 2: Keys is like he heard it one time and it
- 15:56Speaker 2: was telling everybody sending pictures a house all this stuff.
- 16:01Speaker 2: So yeah, it was like more so that and then
- 16:04Speaker 2: and then yeah, you got a hold of it. And
- 16:06Speaker 2: then the next day Tyler the creator came to my
- 16:09Speaker 2: house to come listen to it too. It was like
- 16:12Speaker 2: the album before it came out was kind of making
- 16:15Speaker 2: its ways around, and then people kind of like heard
- 16:19Speaker 2: it when it came out. So it's like it's more
- 16:21Speaker 2: like I'm more like critical acclaim, Like people just know,
- 16:24Speaker 2: like the stuff I do is of a certain quality
- 16:27Speaker 2: and caliber.
- 16:28Speaker 3: So I work for.
- 16:30Speaker 7: Warner Records and very rarely do I see the artists
- 16:34Speaker 7: on a call. Yeah, he talked about this because I
- 16:39Speaker 7: was like, yo, wet, I got his call and the
- 16:42Speaker 7: artist is on the call.
- 16:45Speaker 3: We always talk about the artists, but we're.
- 16:46Speaker 7: On the call and he's on the call, Like this
- 16:49Speaker 7: is this is strange, But I funk with that. I'm
- 16:53Speaker 7: over here like, yo, you want to know what we're
- 16:55Speaker 7: talking about, what we're doing?
- 16:57Speaker 3: What where are we finna go?
- 16:58Speaker 5: You know?
- 16:59Speaker 7: I thought that was dope. I wanted to give your
- 17:00Speaker 7: flowers and I appreciate it very player. Why did you
- 17:04Speaker 7: want to be on that?
- 17:05Speaker 2: To be honest with you. I thought that was normal.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I never like my whole career, I always been like that.
- 17:11Speaker 2: So to me, it's like I know my vision, I
- 17:14Speaker 2: know how to articulate it, and I know also, I mean,
- 17:16Speaker 2: I know you see in a group chat. I know
- 17:18Speaker 2: how to hold people accountable too.
- 17:20Speaker 4: But one thing I will say, though, you'll never see
- 17:22Speaker 4: me go on social media and talk about my label
- 17:25Speaker 4: because that's a lot of people and not everybody falls
- 17:29Speaker 4: under the category of whoever might have sucked your shit up,
- 17:32Speaker 4: So I never look at it like that. But it's
- 17:33Speaker 4: family business, so it's staying there. When it's like when
- 17:36Speaker 4: you it rarely happens. But when I when it ain't,
- 17:39Speaker 4: you know what I mean, you're gonna hear it from me.
- 17:42Speaker 5: I thought that was dope, So idicate the businessman.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I wanted this shit so bad that I wasn't about
- 17:48Speaker 2: to wait for no manager or somebody to come along.
- 17:51Speaker 2: When I first started, I kind of sucked, so it
- 17:54Speaker 2: was like there wasn't no manager that was going to
- 17:56Speaker 2: come and do that for me. So I remember I
- 17:59Speaker 2: got my first video to a million or a song
- 18:02Speaker 2: on SoundCloud to a million of plays listens, and that
- 18:06Speaker 2: was a confidence and I just kept going that was.
- 18:08Speaker 5: The breaker SoundCloud.
- 18:10Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, for sure, And that makes sense now okay SoundCloud.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Okay, So if it's like, if we're breaking it down
- 18:16Speaker 2: like that, then SoundCloud is it breaks?
- 18:19Speaker 5: A lot of artists don't like z or a lot
- 18:22Speaker 5: of the.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I feel like, like low Ki, it'd be breaking, like
- 18:25Speaker 1: because I used to always wondering, like when artists like
- 18:28Speaker 1: Uzzi and Playboy Cardi got big. I'm like, why is
- 18:31Speaker 1: just dropping a song on SoundCloud and you were like.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Breaking?
- 18:36Speaker 4: Like you know what I mean?
- 18:37Speaker 1: But you talked about earlier that you have a song
- 18:40Speaker 1: with billi OLiS. How did that come about?
- 18:42Speaker 4: Same ship?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Like, people just be reaching out to me man, like
- 18:46Speaker 2: all that fire. Wow, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 18:50Speaker 2: that's you.
- 18:50Speaker 1: You live a great life, man, have a life that
- 18:53Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of big artists wish that
- 18:56Speaker 1: these people were reaching out to them.
- 18:58Speaker 7: Can we talk about these shoes though, because that's your
- 19:02Speaker 7: camera right there. Uh?
- 19:05Speaker 3: Air Max made these for you? Correct?
- 19:07Speaker 7: Is this a collaboration? Is the you designed these air Maxes?
- 19:13Speaker 7: Where can people buy them? Can people these are friends
- 19:15Speaker 7: and family? I don't have the they not coming out.
- 19:20Speaker 7: I'm working on something that will probably be out. That's
- 19:23Speaker 7: the best way to explain that. How did you get
- 19:26Speaker 7: a air Max? How did you get to be able
- 19:29Speaker 7: to create I d K? Is this whole interview.
- 19:32Speaker 8: We don't know how he got how he got the
- 19:37Speaker 8: whole I guess, so yeah, like, what how did you
- 19:40Speaker 8: get how'd you come up with your name?
- 19:43Speaker 4: My name in prison? You know, I don't know now.
- 19:46Speaker 2: In prison, I just was thinking about what I wanted
- 19:48Speaker 2: to name myself, and I wanted to name myself something
- 19:50Speaker 2: that will prompt people to ask questions. So I named
- 19:52Speaker 2: the I d K. But it stands for ignorantly delivering knowledge.
- 19:56Speaker 4: So wow, So.
- 19:58Speaker 3: How do you get getting all these deals?
- 19:59Speaker 6: Man?
- 19:59Speaker 3: Every nobody just likes you, That's what it seems like.
- 20:02Speaker 3: It's like everybody likes you.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Kanye is calling you up to your crib. Airbacks is
- 20:09Speaker 1: just giving you a deal for yourself.
- 20:10Speaker 7: You design, design, you design an Airmax Like, come on, yeah, oh,
- 20:16Speaker 7: I designed five of them in two hours, correct me.
- 20:20Speaker 7: But but no, the whole ship is I don't really
- 20:23Speaker 7: like reach out to people unless I got something to
- 20:26Speaker 7: offer that makes sense, and I make it make sense.
- 20:28Speaker 7: So like a lot of people pick up my calls
- 20:30Speaker 7: because they know like if I'm I'm calling you the
- 20:33Speaker 7: bad it makes sense. Yeah, not even just the bag,
- 20:36Speaker 7: it's just whatever the idea is. I really think about
- 20:39Speaker 7: my ideas and and before I come I don't just
- 20:42Speaker 7: be calling people asking people for stuff.
- 20:44Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I have to have something to offer or something that
- 20:47Speaker 2: makes sense for you if I ask you for something.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So I've been doing that and I built a reputation
- 20:52Speaker 2: doing that, and as time progresses, people start to see
- 20:56Speaker 2: like vision wise, like I really like make ship that's
- 21:01Speaker 2: in my head come to life, Like so this deal
- 21:04Speaker 2: is with Nike that's like five years and making deal
- 21:08Speaker 2: with Nike. Yeah, I'm signed to Nike officially, a long
- 21:11Speaker 2: term deal with them. That that happened in last June.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Last yun close.
- 21:19Speaker 7: If you're around it's easy everybody around me. I definitely
- 21:24Speaker 7: need the Maryrior Maxes. I ain't gonna like.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Max, how did you get this deal?
- 21:32Speaker 2: It was like it always starts with like I put
- 21:35Speaker 2: it on my phone, like right now, I got Michael
- 21:36Speaker 2: Jordan's I mean, it ain't really like crazy, like nobody
- 21:42Speaker 2: really I ain't really announced this yet, but I'm one
- 21:45Speaker 2: of the three artists in the history of Nike to
- 21:50Speaker 2: have a joint deal with Nike and Jordan. So I'm
- 21:53Speaker 2: a Jordan. I have a Jorinding deal and a Nike
- 21:56Speaker 2: deal together.
- 22:00Speaker 4: The people that got.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Basically wants to know how.
- 22:02Speaker 4: You before I get into that.
- 22:05Speaker 2: The only people that have it is me, Billie Eilish
- 22:07Speaker 2: and Travis Scott like in entertainment, and the only other
- 22:10Speaker 2: person outside of entertainers is Virgil rest in Peace. So
- 22:16Speaker 2: I got that because uh, I literally man so many
- 22:25Speaker 2: ways to kind of explain that. So the main thing
- 22:28Speaker 2: is I've obviously been down with Nike and supporting them
- 22:31Speaker 2: and really mainly just posting their stuff for like years,
- 22:35Speaker 2: so you post them on your social media. Yeah, before
- 22:38Speaker 2: I even had it the deal. But what I did
- 22:41Speaker 2: was I believed in it and wanted it that much
- 22:44Speaker 2: and stuck by them and then proved how much I
- 22:48Speaker 2: would be valuable to them for years.
- 22:52Speaker 4: And and and I never let it go.
- 22:54Speaker 7: And in my background on my phone right now, it's
- 22:56Speaker 7: Michael Jordan used to be a Nike check until I
- 22:58Speaker 7: got the deal. Then I changed it to Jordan, and
- 23:01Speaker 7: then I got that.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I gotta change your yo.
- 23:03Speaker 3: That's that's how I think six billion dollars.
- 23:06Speaker 5: It was like manifestation, that's what's up.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I think manifestation is a really big part
- 23:11Speaker 2: of what I do. Like, I really like you guys,
- 23:14Speaker 2: anybody around me, I'll be saying emost ridiculous ship tip
- 23:19Speaker 2: to you. At first you hear it, but I'm like,
- 23:22Speaker 2: really make it happen. That's why I send it. In
- 23:24Speaker 2: the group chat, I'll be showing you all the progress
- 23:26Speaker 2: like of how we live in that chat.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Yeah, what advice would you give, like some up and
- 23:31Speaker 1: coming artists that's like looking at because I'm like the
- 23:34Speaker 1: way Rory described you as like man, this dude disappears
- 23:36Speaker 1: is man like he's on the call.
- 23:38Speaker 4: His hand's own.
- 23:39Speaker 1: You know, I don't see a lot of on the
- 23:40Speaker 1: way ain't gonna definitely definitely.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Gonna be on that type of time. They'd be like, ah, yeah,
- 23:45Speaker 3: just let me know what.
- 23:47Speaker 4: My advice would be gratitude because everybody.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Not business savvy. I was a hustler of my whole life.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Like I'm talking about life, I used to. I did
- 23:57Speaker 2: a lot of things and hustle for a very long time.
- 24:00Speaker 2: COmON was always good at it, So that was in me.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Not everybody's like that. But the one thing I say
- 24:06Speaker 2: everyone can adopt is gratitude, you know what I'm saying,
- 24:10Speaker 2: being thankful for the little things that you have and
- 24:13Speaker 2: then and then when things are going wrong, never giving
- 24:16Speaker 2: up because you have gratitude for what you do have.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Like that shit probably is at this point. You can't
- 24:23Speaker 2: tell me nothing after Coachella what we did with all
- 24:27Speaker 2: of that stuff and the collaboration with Loanvaughan and all
- 24:30Speaker 2: that shit.
- 24:31Speaker 4: It's like a nigga, really like did some shit?
- 24:34Speaker 2: You know?
- 24:34Speaker 8: And how important is it for artists especially to pay
- 24:39Speaker 8: attention to their business.
- 24:40Speaker 2: The best way to explain that is if you're good
- 24:43Speaker 2: at that kind of shit, that's very important. If you now,
- 24:46Speaker 2: you better find somebody that is that you trust, because
- 24:50Speaker 2: I can't say everybody can do that. You know, It's
- 24:53Speaker 2: a gift for me to be able to really think
- 24:55Speaker 2: the way I think in the space that I'm at.
- 24:58Speaker 2: They just wrote an article about me on Forbes and
- 25:01Speaker 2: they said thek is a polymath and broke down what
- 25:05Speaker 2: that is. And I didn't know what that was at first,
- 25:07Speaker 2: but I learned what it was, and it's basically a
- 25:09Speaker 2: person with wide arranging knowledge and the whole article is
- 25:13Speaker 2: about how I use the left brain and the right
- 25:15Speaker 2: brain equally as good and not. Most people can't really
- 25:19Speaker 2: do that. Like if I go, if I play basketball,
- 25:22Speaker 2: I could really literally shoot.
- 25:23Speaker 4: With my right m I left. Not everybody could do that.
- 25:26Speaker 2: So it's like, if that's not you, you got to
- 25:29Speaker 2: find a way to that works for you. In the
- 25:32Speaker 2: conversation of the business, it is important to know. But
- 25:35Speaker 2: some people get so good at the business that the
- 25:37Speaker 2: art suffers over years. Over the years, I had to
- 25:41Speaker 2: learn how to balance that properly. Like I'll be on
- 25:44Speaker 2: a zoom. We could be on a call right now
- 25:46Speaker 2: and all this shit. I'll be able to go in
- 25:49Speaker 2: a booth, like give me a second. I don't really
- 25:50Speaker 2: write my music, so say the lines whatever like jay
- 25:54Speaker 2: Z Yeah, like honestly, truthfully, like I ninety percent of
- 25:59Speaker 2: what I make, it's from the top of my head.
- 26:01Speaker 4: So I do that shit.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And then had somebody else come, had somebody else come,
- 26:08Speaker 2: and I'll tell the engineer this, this, this is this,
- 26:10Speaker 2: I'll be back, finish the call, come back to the music.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Now.
- 26:14Speaker 2: With this last album, I started just recording that night
- 26:17Speaker 2: when everybody sleep, nobody bothering me, I can really record,
- 26:21Speaker 2: So that's the new thing I do now. But I
- 26:24Speaker 2: used to be able to balance that really well.
- 26:26Speaker 7: Question does IDK have a personal life? Does is IDK
- 26:29Speaker 7: have kids? I ain't got no kids, I don't have
- 26:32Speaker 7: no relationship. If I do have a relationship, I'm pretty
- 26:36Speaker 7: good at balancing it, you know.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I've learned how to really like.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Utilize time, like properly want that if it's the right
- 26:48Speaker 2: person for oh, kids for sure.
- 26:49Speaker 4: That's why I'm on this earth.
- 26:51Speaker 2: My goal is to retiring when I'm forty, and the
- 26:54Speaker 2: reason why is because everything I'm doing right now is
- 26:57Speaker 2: to build a foundation for my family.
- 26:59Speaker 4: And I want to be forty and travel.
- 27:01Speaker 2: The world and focus on my family and wife and
- 27:04Speaker 2: all that stuff. And then my goal is to like
- 27:07Speaker 2: right now build the best foundation that I can for
- 27:13Speaker 2: us to be comfortable and healthy for when I, you know,
- 27:18Speaker 2: give turn forty. I could have kids tomorrow with whenever.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I'm grinding til I'm forty. My retirement
- 27:23Speaker 2: is forty years old, are you now thirty?
- 27:26Speaker 4: Wow?
- 27:27Speaker 3: Ten years ago?
- 27:28Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 27:28Speaker 2: Why it's forty to cut off date because I'm like,
- 27:30Speaker 2: it's shit is lit already right now imagine ten years
- 27:35Speaker 2: going harder, you know.
- 27:37Speaker 4: What I'm saying.
- 27:37Speaker 2: So I look at it like a lot of us
- 27:39Speaker 2: chase this shift too long, like it'd be like it
- 27:43Speaker 2: never like.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Your uncle that's like thirty seven, still trying to rap you, like,
- 27:47Speaker 1: come on, man.
- 27:48Speaker 2: And even at that, it's not even just the rap part.
- 27:50Speaker 2: It's the money part. It's the like success. It's like
- 27:53Speaker 2: at a certain point, man, you did it, Like when
- 27:56Speaker 2: I look at like yay, you know, like I'm it
- 28:00Speaker 2: ain't nothing. You got to prove you made those first
- 28:03Speaker 2: three albums. You good for real? You know what I'm saying,
- 28:06Speaker 2: Like it's the Grady idea of gratitude, you know, like, well.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Let us know about this project.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So F sixty five is the album F is as
- 28:17Speaker 2: in like F one racing. And then sixty five is
- 28:21Speaker 2: the year Malcolm X was assassinated. And before he got assassinated,
- 28:26Speaker 2: he was switching from Nation to Islam to Orthodox Muslim
- 28:30Speaker 2: and he was about to change the conversation he was
- 28:32Speaker 2: going to start having, which was more inviting and easier
- 28:35Speaker 2: to have and inclusive to really bring change. But he got,
- 28:39Speaker 2: you know, assassinated before that could happen. So this album
- 28:42Speaker 2: is a continuation of that. That's why I like the
- 28:44Speaker 2: songs the Police. It's like it sounds so like smooth
- 28:48Speaker 2: and shit, but I'm saying some real shit and it's.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Like, yeast I listen to it. I really liked the song.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I like the message, and I liked the visuals. Like
- 28:55Speaker 1: I told you that. I was like, man, I was
- 28:57Speaker 1: watching it and I thought I was like, damn, he
- 28:59Speaker 1: was beating the ship out of him, and I thought
- 29:01Speaker 1: it was real.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody, my lawyer, everybody hit me like, damn, you
- 29:05Speaker 2: didn't tell me this happened.
- 29:06Speaker 4: What's crazy?
- 29:08Speaker 3: They so they thought that the video was real too.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Everybody thinks it's real. But the thing about that video
- 29:13Speaker 2: is that it is real. It just didn't happen to
- 29:17Speaker 2: me in that moment. That's real, Like that ship happened,
- 29:22Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, Like that feeling like no
- 29:24Speaker 2: matter what car, you and I could be in a
- 29:27Speaker 2: Toyota or a Lamborghini, the same ships gonna happen fast.
- 29:31Speaker 7: And that's what I'm a little spoil because I heard
- 29:33Speaker 7: the whole I heard a lot because we got a
- 29:35Speaker 7: little a little pre empt. Yeah, I was telling him,
- 29:37Speaker 7: belove it. What's the name Pano Santana. Yeah, I think
- 29:45Speaker 7: they gonna You're gonna hear it. You're gonna hit him
- 29:46Speaker 7: on the left with that one.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I already know people are gonna be like you
- 29:51Speaker 2: got on your album. I heard the be and that's
- 29:55Speaker 2: who I heard on the song. I thought he was fire,
- 29:57Speaker 2: you know, I thought it would work, and he did
- 29:59Speaker 2: his verse as I think you could do it, go harder.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Here's the game again, Juicy Fruit, Juicy Fruit.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Both of them did two verses.
- 30:06Speaker 1: So you hold everybody accountable, the artists, the label, everybody
- 30:10Speaker 1: they sent a version you don't like you, Like if
- 30:12Speaker 1: I'm upset with you, you really fucked up like you
- 30:15Speaker 1: didn't you really didn't do something right. And if if
- 30:18Speaker 1: I if I happen to be upset with you and
- 30:20Speaker 1: it wasn't your fault, I apologize and fixed that immediately.
- 30:23Speaker 1: But if not, like you, you know, like you could
- 30:26Speaker 1: have did something better right. So that's how it is.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Accountability is probably like my strong strongest asset in terms
- 30:33Speaker 2: of like the is what I've developed as a man.
- 30:36Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 30:37Speaker 7: Before we go, is this merch right here to ax?
- 30:39Speaker 7: I see your camera has ax?
- 30:41Speaker 4: What?
- 30:42Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 30:42Speaker 2: Your gloves got X Yeah, yeah, so well the gloves
- 30:45Speaker 2: ain't merched. This is one of one Coachella.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Then you don't want to be giving none of your stuf.
- 30:50Speaker 3: You don't want to you don't want to give shoes.
- 30:54Speaker 3: We get the hat.
- 30:55Speaker 4: The hat is coming.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Can we get some shoes?
- 30:58Speaker 4: So yeah, the shoes them on.
- 31:00Speaker 8: She was going some mystery guys alighty k.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Already earlier.
- 31:08Speaker 5: It was such a joy to have you so much
- 31:11Speaker 5: in the cursive that you gave.
