Gas and Diesel Prices Soar in Kansas | Topeka News
Gas prices are surging nationwide, with the national average hitting $4.09 per gallon — up from last week but down a penny from last month — and drivers paying 94 cents more than this time last year. In Kansas, the average is slightly lower at $3.85, up 3 cents weekly and 10 cents monthly, still a dollar higher than last year. Diesel is also climbing: nationally at $5.61 (up 17 cents in one week), and in Kansas at $5.20 (up 14 cents). Topeka’s prices range from $3.63 to $3.99 for gas and $5.04 to $5.80 for diesel.
