- 0:02Speaker 1: Inclusonova on Main Street. You're electing feeling good.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Mag to school shopping has apparently got a lot more expensive,
- 0:10Speaker 2: like a lot of things. Yeah what Fifteen teenagers were asked, Hey,
- 0:14Speaker 2: what's on there back to school shopping list this year?
- 0:17Speaker 2: And some of the answers, you know, very normal things,
- 0:20Speaker 2: cute notebooks, maybe some new clothes, you know, a lot
- 0:23Speaker 2: of these kind of trendy brands, things like that. Well
- 0:28Speaker 2: some of these items were kind of had zero to
- 0:32Speaker 2: do with school, Okay, Sarah v moisturizer.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Yeah, because you have to be looking good at school,
- 0:39Speaker 3: especially if you're a teenager. Sarah moisturizer is the moisturizer
- 0:43Speaker 3: I use, And I said that right, Yeah, it's really good.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:46Speaker 4: No, you got to get the skincare right.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 2: There were some kids asking for air pods. Okay, that's
- 0:52Speaker 2: not for school. Seems we're like a birthday or Christmas
- 0:55Speaker 2: not for school. Yeah, so this reminded me there was
- 0:59Speaker 2: this time I was in it was kindergartener, first grade,
- 1:02Speaker 2: where my mom and dad took me to Cole's just
- 1:05Speaker 2: doing a little tiny back to school shopping. You know,
- 1:07Speaker 2: They're like, hey, we'll let you get maybe a shirt,
- 1:09Speaker 2: some pants and you can look good on the first
- 1:10Speaker 2: day of school. Yeah, and then you go back to
- 1:12Speaker 2: looking like the scrub you normally look like, okay, well
- 1:14Speaker 2: you are the middle child.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And so we get to Cole's and there was this
- 1:19Speaker 2: like fleece vest. I had to have it. I have
- 1:25Speaker 2: no idea why. It was screaming my name. It was
- 1:29Speaker 2: like when you walk in and you know, all the
- 1:32Speaker 2: lights dim around and there's the one shiny glow light.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah on this vest. And I had to have it.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And my parents were like, absolutely not, you do not
- 1:41Speaker 2: need this vest right now. It is ninety degrees outs. Well,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I did not love that answer. When I was in kindergartener,
- 1:47Speaker 2: first grade or whatever it was, and through a bit
- 1:49Speaker 2: of a tantrument of coles and so my parents walked
- 1:52Speaker 2: me on out of coals with nothing.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I got shots that you get or don't get.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I felt that was like my first recollection to my
- 2:00Speaker 2: dad kind of yelling at me. He didn't yell at me,
- 2:02Speaker 2: but we got to the car and he was like, well,
- 2:04Speaker 2: I'll never experience that again. So if that ever happens,
- 2:08Speaker 2: we just won't take you anywhere ever. And so I
- 2:10Speaker 2: never really threw a tan well, I'm sure I did,
- 2:12Speaker 2: but I never threw a tantrum like that one.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Do you think you go to heel your heart to
- 2:16Speaker 3: get a vest like that? Now?
- 2:19Speaker 2: No, I got plenty of vests now, okay, I'm good
- 2:21Speaker 2: on I'm good on the western front.
- 2:23Speaker 1: You see what I did there? I hate seven one
- 2:28Speaker 1: two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Have you ever had some back to school shopping experiences
- 2:32Speaker 2: where little Timmy or little Sarah asked for something and
- 2:35Speaker 2: you were like, what does this have to do with school?
- 2:37Speaker 1: You you're just shopping now?
- 2:39Speaker 4: Yeah, well you just you got to shoot your shot.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 2: If you don't ask, you never know. Yeah, that's that
- 2:43Speaker 2: ever happened with you and Liam or Aidan? Have you
- 2:45Speaker 2: Do you ever remember doing some.
- 2:46Speaker 1: School shopping like this is not a folder?
- 2:49Speaker 3: Well, we were school shopping once ages ago. It was
- 2:53Speaker 3: Aiden was in elementary school, and oh, I think I was.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Pregnant with Liam, so I really didn't have a lot
- 2:58Speaker 4: of patience.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And Aiden was insistent that he needed a sparkly purse,
- 3:04Speaker 3: and I was like, for what right, And.
- 3:06Speaker 4: He's like, it's sparkly, it's cool. Okay, yeah, but you
- 3:09Speaker 4: need a backpack. That purse is not gonna hold your books, yes, sir.
- 3:14Speaker 3: And he just was like obsessed with this sparkly purse.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And no, he did not get it. But I had
- 3:20Speaker 3: a sparkly person at home, so he played with that.
- 3:22Speaker 4: But it was fine. Like it's because if you take
- 3:25Speaker 4: your kids shopping with you, there's a thing where in
- 3:28Speaker 4: their brain it's not four back to school.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just shooting.
- 3:31Speaker 4: If you say that, it.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Is, so they're just gonna they're gonna shoot their shot
- 3:34Speaker 3: and they're gonna try to get whatever they can.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 2: In the order of importance for back to school backpack folders, notebooks,
- 3:41Speaker 2: they probably take precedent over sparkly.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Purse, Sparkly purpose.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 3:49Speaker 2: It looks like we have Ryan on the phone. Ryan,
- 3:50Speaker 2: what's your kid ask for?
- 3:51Speaker 5: My child is requesting a mini karaoke machine for back
- 3:54Speaker 5: to school because apparently pencils and notebooks in the backpack
- 3:58Speaker 5: just aren't enough. I'm not sure how that's going to
- 4:01Speaker 5: help with nap homework, but at least they'll be prepared
- 4:04Speaker 5: for the school talent show.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I guess he's right.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Oh, that really caught me off. Of all the things.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds like Ryan's kid isn't back to school shopping.
- 4:11Speaker 2: They're back to American idols shop.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Yes, and that's time by me.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it for him. Renee, what about you?
- 4:18Speaker 6: My son asked for a label maker so he can
- 4:20Speaker 6: put his name.
- 4:21Speaker 5: On literally everything.
- 4:23Speaker 6: He's tired of people stealing his pencil.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I love this, Okay, Yeah, I mean obviously get that
- 4:29Speaker 3: for him.
- 4:29Speaker 4: That's an important that's a necessity. I'm adding it to
- 4:32Speaker 4: my list.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You know what's funny. I used a label maker.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I had someone in the building use a label maker
- 4:37Speaker 2: to label my headphones with my name on the side
- 4:40Speaker 2: of it. So get this label maker. I think there's
- 4:43Speaker 2: no excuse not to. At this point, I don't have.
- 4:46Speaker 4: My name on my side of my headphone.
- 4:51Speaker 1: This is am I the problem.
- 4:53Speaker 4: It's the problem.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It's me.
- 4:58Speaker 7: We'll hear one side of the story, and with your help,
- 5:01Speaker 7: am I the problem with you? Decide if it's right
- 5:03Speaker 7: or if maybe you're the problem.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I'm hardly the problem. On Big ninety eight point.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Seven, all right, we got this from Christina, Hi, gab
- 5:14Speaker 3: and Angie. I'm Christina and I'm going through it with
- 5:16Speaker 3: my roommate who I've only had for six months, she
- 5:19Speaker 3: hasn't paid for cable and internet this whole time. She
- 5:23Speaker 3: pays her part of the rent on time and she cleans,
- 5:26Speaker 3: so that's good. But whenever I ask about the internet,
- 5:29Speaker 3: she doesn't have it and promises to start paying it
- 5:31Speaker 3: the next month, and it never happens. But she's still
- 5:34Speaker 3: using the Wi Fi and my streaming services. My brother
- 5:38Speaker 3: told me I should log out of all streaming services
- 5:41Speaker 3: and change the Wi Fi password until she pays, but
- 5:45Speaker 3: I'm worried that will cause more problems than it solves.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Like I said, she pays rent on time and clean,
- 5:50Speaker 3: so is there some other way I can get her.
- 5:52Speaker 4: To pay without being petty?
- 5:54Speaker 3: We also posted this to the big ninety eight points
- 5:56Speaker 3: I've in Facebook page if you want to chime in,
- 5:59Speaker 3: or you can text her seven O one two eight
- 6:01Speaker 3: one nine eight seven.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I live for petty, and I don't.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Think that it's even petty for her to do that.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I think you got to prove a point, Christina. I
- 6:13Speaker 3: think that's definitely what your brother is correct.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I've changed the password for less honestly.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, don't you an pass? Or you changed? I did?
- 6:25Speaker 3: I had a girlfriend, I mean, is one of my
- 6:27Speaker 3: best friends. But she flaked on the finale party I
- 6:31Speaker 3: was throwing for Game of Thrones. This is ridiculous, but
- 6:35Speaker 3: she had she had acted the entire time like she
- 6:37Speaker 3: was gonna go. She was even doing that thing where
- 6:39Speaker 3: it's like, oh, and then what should I bring? And
- 6:42Speaker 3: uh for the cosplay. I think I'm gonna address as
- 6:45Speaker 3: like she was doing everything and then flaked out, And
- 6:48Speaker 3: I just had a feeling she was going to but
- 6:50Speaker 3: she was using my HBO. So right before the series finale,
- 6:54Speaker 3: I locked out and changed the password so she couldn't
- 6:58Speaker 3: watch it.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Yeah, which is petty and horrible some friend. Yeah, No,
- 7:04Speaker 4: we're good now. Listen.
- 7:05Speaker 3: That stemmed from a lot of other stuff and whatever.
- 7:08Speaker 3: All that to say, I did prove my point and
- 7:12Speaker 3: we're still friends. So I think it is fine. Roove
- 7:15Speaker 3: your point. Log out of all the things, log out
- 7:17Speaker 3: of the Wi Fi, like she has to pay.
- 7:19Speaker 4: What is the issue that she can't pay?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Well, I do think this is pretty easy in the
- 7:24Speaker 2: sense if it's not like this roommate has a leg
- 7:26Speaker 2: to stand on if you log out of the Wi
- 7:28Speaker 2: Fi and everything else and she all of a sudden realized, Wow,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I'm using a lot of phone data. I'm not on
- 7:33Speaker 2: the WiFi. Yeah, what's she gonna do? I mean, really,
- 7:37Speaker 2: what's she gonna do? How is how is there an
- 7:39Speaker 2: argument to come back at it saying like I need
- 7:42Speaker 2: the Wi Fi passwords? She knows she's not paying it.
- 7:44Speaker 2: When you are not paying your portion of any bill
- 7:47Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 7:48Speaker 4: When you get with you're so aware, you are more.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Than aware that it's like, oh god, I really got
- 7:53Speaker 2: to get this person the sixty bucks or the one
- 7:56Speaker 2: hundred dollars or whatever.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah, just change the password.
- 7:59Speaker 2: And a very calm discussion of just saying like, hey,
- 8:03Speaker 2: you can't use the internet until you pay your share
- 8:05Speaker 2: of it.
- 8:06Speaker 1: What's she gonna do? Yell at you?
- 8:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's when you can calmly just leave the room.
- 8:10Speaker 2: You're one thousand percent in the right now. I probably
- 8:13Speaker 2: would never change the password. I just kind of wouldn't care,
- 8:16Speaker 2: to be honest.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Oh well I'm petty and so I would care. What
- 8:19Speaker 3: do you think seven oh one to two, eight h
- 8:21Speaker 3: one nine eight seven. Does she go the rote of
- 8:24Speaker 3: changing the passwords or do you just kind of let
- 8:27Speaker 3: it slide and hope for the best.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah, because if you do let it slide.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Some people would say, well, you're kind of like enabling
- 8:32Speaker 2: or to Yeah, sort of just get away with this.
- 8:34Speaker 2: When I was young, in my young twenties, as a
- 8:37Speaker 2: twenty one to twenty two year old radio guy, I
- 8:39Speaker 2: live with one of my best friends in the world.
- 8:40Speaker 2: His name is Tyler Larkin. He had the electric bill
- 8:44Speaker 2: in his name, and when he would like pay the
- 8:47Speaker 2: electric bill, he just be like, Hey, when you got
- 8:48Speaker 2: the sixty bucks or eighty bucks or whatever it is,
- 8:51Speaker 2: can you get it to me and pay that half.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And of course I was twenty one and had zero money,
- 8:57Speaker 2: so I'd be like, I got your Friday. Yeah, check
- 9:00Speaker 2: would come in, you would get them right the second
- 9:03Speaker 2: the check went through, I'd be like, yeah, here you go,
- 9:05Speaker 2: because I didn't want that sitting there lingering away.
- 9:07Speaker 3: So I think also Christina, like she said that they've
- 9:10Speaker 3: only been roommates for six months, it doesn't sound like
- 9:13Speaker 3: they were friends before this. It very much sounds like
- 9:15Speaker 3: a roommate situation. And it's hard to find a roommate
- 9:17Speaker 3: who pays rent on time.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You're not losing a bestie, no.
- 9:21Speaker 3: But I'm saying like, it's hard to find a good roommate,
- 9:24Speaker 3: so I think that's why she also doesn't want to
- 9:25Speaker 3: rock the boat and like have any tension.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Also, there's something to be said for having a.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Clean roommate, a roommate who cleans, Like that's major there.
- 9:36Speaker 2: This has got to be one of the most relatable
- 9:38Speaker 2: things ever. Living with someone paying portions of things with
- 9:41Speaker 2: other people can be difficult. Yeah, I'm sure you have
- 9:44Speaker 2: been through this in your life, so let us know
- 9:46Speaker 2: what would you do? Seven oh one two eight zero
- 9:49Speaker 2: one nine eight seven. Can we help out Christina this
- 9:52Speaker 2: morning on Big ninety eight point seven nine.
- 9:59Speaker 3: On the problem. Christina has a roommate who's only lived
- 10:02Speaker 3: with her for six months, and while she pays rent
- 10:05Speaker 3: on time and cleans, she has yet to pay for
- 10:11Speaker 3: the internet bill and just keep saying oh, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 3: I got it next month.
- 10:15Speaker 4: I'll do it next month, and then just never does.
- 10:18Speaker 3: So she wants to know how can I get this
- 10:20Speaker 3: woman to pay me my money? And she is worried
- 10:23Speaker 3: about the advice her brother gave her. He said, log
- 10:26Speaker 3: out of all the streaming services and change the password
- 10:31Speaker 3: on the Wi Fi because the roommate is still using those,
- 10:34Speaker 3: and then that should prove the point like, you can't
- 10:36Speaker 3: use any of this stuff until you pay.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Just cut it off, cold jack.
- 10:40Speaker 4: What would you do in this situation.
- 10:42Speaker 3: I think she just doesn't want to rock the boat
- 10:44Speaker 3: because she does otherwise think that she's a good roommate.
- 10:46Speaker 4: It's only been six months. Yeah, likely it's a year
- 10:50Speaker 4: lease on the thing, so you don't want there.
- 10:52Speaker 3: To be bad tensions. I think absolutely what her brother
- 10:56Speaker 3: said is correct. Go ahead, unlike out of the things,
- 11:01Speaker 3: and don't let her use it until she pays.
- 11:03Speaker 2: And there are some other good attributes to this roommate.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You know, she's clean. She pays the rent portion on time,
- 11:09Speaker 2: which is which is the.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Main the biggest one.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Nick said, I wouldn't just change the password right away,
- 11:15Speaker 2: Give her one more month to start paying you and
- 11:17Speaker 2: tell her if she doesn't pay next month, change the passwords.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That way, you at least gave notice. She can't be
- 11:23Speaker 2: mad if you change the passwords now. Okay, so all warning,
- 11:26Speaker 2: yeah kind of the uh the old we're not evicting
- 11:28Speaker 2: you right now. Yeah, but we gotta kind of turn
- 11:31Speaker 2: this ship around and start doing some payments. I do
- 11:34Speaker 2: have an idea that maybe they could go for Okay, Okay.
- 11:40Speaker 2: So the roommate who does not pay the bill, yeah, right,
- 11:45Speaker 2: what if she went to a bank and got a
- 11:49Speaker 2: super low amount credit card, right, just two hundred and
- 11:54Speaker 2: three hundred dollars. I don't know if they go that low,
- 11:56Speaker 2: but you know what I mean. Yeah, and she used
- 12:00Speaker 2: that card to pay the internet bill fully. Roommate who
- 12:04Speaker 2: does pay on time then pays her her half. So
- 12:08Speaker 2: that way, if the let's say the bill comes out
- 12:11Speaker 2: on the twelfth, well, this girl doesn't get paid till
- 12:13Speaker 2: the fifteenth or the sixteenth, Okay, that would give her
- 12:16Speaker 2: a few days to make up the payment. She already
- 12:19Speaker 2: got the payment the other half. Yeah, and then everything
- 12:22Speaker 2: is paid on time. It's all good. And then it
- 12:24Speaker 2: buys this girl a couple of days. Because I don't
- 12:26Speaker 2: think it. To me, it doesn't seem like she just
- 12:28Speaker 2: doesn't want to pay it and she doesn't think she
- 12:30Speaker 2: has to gie but she doesn't. It might just be
- 12:32Speaker 2: she like is struggling to do it. Maybe she's lost
- 12:35Speaker 2: some shifts at work, ers waiting for some big races
- 12:38Speaker 2: she should.
- 12:39Speaker 4: The roommate needs to communicate.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, there's it sounds like a discussion for sure needs
- 12:44Speaker 2: to be had. I'm just like, hey, what is the
- 12:46Speaker 2: hold up on this. I'm not trying to accuse you
- 12:48Speaker 2: of anything. There's definitely a way to go about this
- 12:50Speaker 2: without embarrassing this girl.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, isn't trying to not pay you.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I just don't want them to end up in like
- 12:56Speaker 3: small claims court with some ridiculous TV judge, know what
- 13:00Speaker 3: I mean.
- 13:00Speaker 4: However, I would love to have that job.
- 13:03Speaker 2: There's a lot of people who do agree with you
- 13:06Speaker 2: here Angie. Alicia said change the passwords. That should change
- 13:10Speaker 2: pretty fast for her. We do have don who said
- 13:14Speaker 2: change passwords on all accounts, no pay, no play.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Which is fair.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I like that interview Vicky. I agree with her brother.
- 13:23Speaker 2: You've tried talking to her to no avail. Time for
- 13:25Speaker 2: more drastic steps. And this is one of the things
- 13:28Speaker 2: about am I the problem that I really wish to be.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I could be a fly on that wall. You know,
- 13:33Speaker 2: how have these conversations gone. Has it been just like, oh, hey,
- 13:37Speaker 2: when you get it, you could pay me. You do
- 13:39Speaker 2: have to be a little bit more stern in these
- 13:41Speaker 2: roommate conversation with with just a heads up. If you
- 13:44Speaker 2: don't pay, I am going to go this route. That's
- 13:47Speaker 2: the thing is that leave any room for anything, you.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Know, mis Ashley.
- 13:53Speaker 3: She agreed with Nick, who said, you know, give some warning.
- 13:58Speaker 3: So I guess maybe I'm just kind of a I'm like, yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 3: just stun her with this logging out of the things,
- 14:04Speaker 3: but have one last conversation requesting payment and let the
- 14:07Speaker 3: roommate know you will be changing passwords if payment is
- 14:11Speaker 3: not received. So I guess a little warning goes a
- 14:14Speaker 3: long way. But I think the consensus is you got
- 14:17Speaker 3: to do it, girl.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Change those pastor at some point. Yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Well, kiddos are getting ready to go back to school,
- 14:28Speaker 2: whether they're in elementary school, middle school, high school and
- 14:31Speaker 2: college students. Geary Poor classes in about ten days here
- 14:36Speaker 2: at NDSU and MSUM. They both begin their fall semester Monday,
- 14:41Speaker 2: August twenty fourth. So I wanted to play a little
- 14:45Speaker 2: game with you this morning, Angie. And if you're riding
- 14:47Speaker 2: in your car, we're listening at your your work desk
- 14:49Speaker 2: or whatever. You also can answer these if you'd like.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I have done all of these, and I want you
- 14:57Speaker 2: to know if you were the teacher and I walked
- 14:59Speaker 2: in and did some some of these things in class
- 15:01Speaker 2: in your head, are you going this kid's gonna pass
- 15:05Speaker 2: or yet, nap.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I'll just give them an F right now, Okay, pass
- 15:08Speaker 1: or fail?
- 15:10Speaker 2: The back to school game here Gabe's edition. All right, Angie,
- 15:13Speaker 2: you show up to the first day of radio school
- 15:17Speaker 2: and you are one hour late to your very first class,
- 15:20Speaker 2: the first class, first class fail. Well I did pass
- 15:26Speaker 2: the class, obviously, but I did do this my very
- 15:29Speaker 2: first day at radio school.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I was one hour late. I don't remember if.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I misread the time of the start or I didn't
- 15:35Speaker 2: understand when the first class was. But thankfully, when I
- 15:39Speaker 2: got there, the entire class was on break. So I
- 15:41Speaker 2: just walked to the back, sat down, and waited for
- 15:44Speaker 2: everyone to get back.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Oh okay, So I kind of lucked out bursted.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I got very.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Lucky, and I ended up sitting next to my buddy Tyler,
- 15:53Speaker 2: who is to this day one of my best friends.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I'll be busy in the wedding in October, so it
- 15:58Speaker 2: was a pass in the long run. All right, Angie,
- 16:01Speaker 2: you had a test, you forgot about it. You got
- 16:03Speaker 2: to class, and you told the teacher you didn't forget.
- 16:05Speaker 2: You just told him you were mentally preparing. I would
- 16:09Speaker 2: respect that. That's hilarious.
- 16:10Speaker 1: It's honesty.
- 16:11Speaker 4: I would pass.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Thank you. I appreciate that.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Okay, you bring a lunch box to your college class.
- 16:18Speaker 2: That's it, a spider Man lunchbox. Oh that's dope. Pass
- 16:23Speaker 2: all right.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I like that a little.
- 16:24Speaker 2: It was like this little plastic one that once again
- 16:27Speaker 2: brought to radio school.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It's kind of a joke.
- 16:29Speaker 2: And also I just couldn't think of what else to bring,
- 16:31Speaker 2: and I found it sitting in my parent's house.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Pretty funny. All right.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Some of these are well, once again, all of these
- 16:36Speaker 2: very real. I've done some of these. I want to
- 16:38Speaker 2: see what Angie says, pass or fail Back to School edition.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Here. You call your professor mom fail, You're gonna fail me?
- 16:46Speaker 3: I fail. No. I don't want to be anybody's mom
- 16:48Speaker 3: except for my own children.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 2: My radio professor or radio teacher, her name was Heather.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I got to school once and it was like, oh yeah, mom,
- 16:56Speaker 2: can I blah blah blah, And then I went, well,
- 16:58Speaker 2: this is awkward.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Get that common?
- 17:00Speaker 3: Like when kindergarteners start. You were a full grown man
- 17:05Speaker 3: like I was twenty. That's terrible.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Eighteen Oh no, sale.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Okay, I have two more for you.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Here.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You wear pajamas to the third day of your senior
- 17:18Speaker 2: year of high school.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Oh pass.
- 17:21Speaker 3: When I was in high school, I don't want to
- 17:23Speaker 3: age myself, but it's too late. In two thousand and five,
- 17:26Speaker 3: I was a senior in high school and that was
- 17:28Speaker 3: unfortunately like the thing, wear pajama pants to school one
- 17:33Speaker 3: thousand percent.
- 17:34Speaker 2: All right, you have one more or I have one
- 17:37Speaker 2: more for you. You ask the teacher if the homework
- 17:40Speaker 2: is due tomorrow while they're literally collecting it at the
- 17:44Speaker 2: start of class.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Sale, you're failing me fail? So what I have? How
- 17:48Speaker 1: many of these did I pass? I'm not even sure
- 17:49Speaker 1: A couple.
- 17:50Speaker 3: I think as a whole, I would say you are
- 17:53Speaker 3: a failure.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I sound like a D plus student? Are college student?
- 18:03Speaker 2: Summer is almost officially over. At NDSU, moving day is Saturday,
- 18:08Speaker 2: August twenty second, to a last in like twelve days here,
- 18:11Speaker 2: classes begin on Monday, August twenty fourth. Over at Minnesota
- 18:16Speaker 2: State Morehead moveing day is Thursday, August twentieth, with classes
- 18:19Speaker 2: also starting Monday, August twenty fourth. So parents, you can
- 18:23Speaker 2: enjoy these last few days of having your college kids around,
- 18:26Speaker 2: because pretty soon they're gonna go back to asking you
- 18:29Speaker 2: for some.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Money they need to help.
- 18:31Speaker 2: And part of being in college a lot of times
- 18:34Speaker 2: for a lot of people is being a roommate.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Yeah, either in the dorms, so you find a place
- 18:39Speaker 3: off campus, you're dealing with a roommate. But that doesn't
- 18:42Speaker 3: always go the way you want.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Not always being a roommate is. It can be a
- 18:49Speaker 2: weird thing, it can be a wonderful thing. If you
- 18:51Speaker 2: have a roommate horror story, by the way, we want
- 18:53Speaker 2: to hear about it at seven oh one, two eight
- 18:55Speaker 2: zero one to nine eight seven. And I would like
- 18:57Speaker 2: to point out as someone who has been a roommate also,
- 19:01Speaker 2: I have lived with my now wife for like ten
- 19:04Speaker 2: years or something along those lines. But before that I
- 19:06Speaker 2: had lived with buddies and thankfully always went really well.
- 19:10Speaker 2: You know, everyone was pretty chill about the whole ordeal.
- 19:12Speaker 2: There was only one time I got in a kind
- 19:15Speaker 2: of like an argument with a roommate, but you know,
- 19:17Speaker 2: he was he had been boozing up a little bit,
- 19:20Speaker 2: so I kind of let it, let it slide.
- 19:21Speaker 4: You didn't really count.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there was this time. It was like eleven thirty
- 19:25Speaker 2: midnight at night. I had gone to sleep, he had
- 19:28Speaker 2: went out, and he came back with some people, which
- 19:31Speaker 2: is fine. I didn't care about that. But at the
- 19:33Speaker 2: same time he was walking to the door. I was
- 19:36Speaker 2: walking to the bathroom, and I was like, no one's home. Like,
- 19:39Speaker 2: I'm just gonna walk there in my boxers. I don't care.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Oh So he had walked in with a few people
- 19:44Speaker 2: as I'm standing there basically in my underwear and like
- 19:47Speaker 2: a T shirt, and he was like, what the heck, dude, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 19:50Speaker 1: So did Hey, what the heck?
- 19:52Speaker 4: Tea yahear me?
- 19:53Speaker 2: He was like, you can't be hearing your boxers while
- 19:55Speaker 2: I got people over and love story short, he was
- 19:58Speaker 2: a little bit tuned up. Yeah, the next day he
- 20:00Speaker 2: was like, that's my bad. Yeah, Okay, we got over
- 20:03Speaker 2: it pretty quick. But being a roommate, it's not just
- 20:06Speaker 2: how they affect you. You also affect another person. You
- 20:09Speaker 2: have to learn, I think, how to be a good roommate.
- 20:12Speaker 2: It does look like we do you have Megan on
- 20:13Speaker 2: the phone? Megan, do you have a roommate? Maybe horror
- 20:15Speaker 2: story for us.
- 20:16Speaker 6: The worst part was actually realizing that I was the
- 20:19Speaker 6: only one who knew how to replace a toilet paper role.
- 20:23Speaker 6: Apparently that was a two person household and mystery classic.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That's a that's a roommate situation if you live at
- 20:29Speaker 2: home with your wife and kids. That's true, Angie, did
- 20:33Speaker 2: you ever roommate horror story at all? Did you have
- 20:35Speaker 2: a situation go awry?
- 20:37Speaker 4: You know what.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I grew up very old school in a Cuban household,
- 20:41Speaker 3: so I quite literally went from living with my mom
- 20:44Speaker 3: to them living with my husband.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Oh sure, So I didn't.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Really have that.
- 20:47Speaker 3: My older brother, however, when he moved away to college,
- 20:51Speaker 3: in the dorms, he had a roommate named Benedict Fung. Okay,
- 20:56Speaker 3: great name and uh he said, hey, there's this one
- 21:00Speaker 3: dresser in here I need uh, I need a few
- 21:03Speaker 3: drawers for my clothes, and my brother's like cools.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Laugh.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Then he was like, well, I need more drawers. I
- 21:12Speaker 3: need more drawers, to the point where he wanted the
- 21:15Speaker 3: entire dresser to himself. And my brother said, you know what, fine,
- 21:18Speaker 3: I'll just hang on my stuff in the closet. But
- 21:21Speaker 3: then one day, when Benedict Fung was not in the dorm,
- 21:25Speaker 3: he goes and looks to see, like, how much clothes
- 21:28Speaker 3: does this Benedict have? There was one folded article of
- 21:33Speaker 3: clothing per drawer.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Each drawer had just one singular.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Thing, one singular thing in it.
- 21:40Speaker 1: That's insane.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Now, your brother sadly though he wouldn't have had he
- 21:43Speaker 2: can't really say anything because then he would be admitting
- 21:46Speaker 2: he would have to do it now.
- 21:47Speaker 3: So he was just like, well, he's a weirdo and
- 21:49Speaker 3: he needs one drawer per article of clothing, which is crazy.
- 21:54Speaker 3: But I hope somewhere Benedict Fung is living his best life.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Yeah, your brother had to take that to the roommate.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Gray.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I think if you could give advice to someone who
- 22:02Speaker 2: maybe is going to be living with someone for the
- 22:04Speaker 2: first time who is not their family or their parents. Ye,
- 22:08Speaker 2: what advice would it be at seven oh one two
- 22:10Speaker 2: eight zero one nine eight seven mind, I think the
- 22:13Speaker 2: best thing is Sadly, it always comes down to this,
- 22:16Speaker 2: but open and honest communication, and there is a way
- 22:19Speaker 2: to do that without trying to attack or embarrass your roommates. Yeah,
- 22:23Speaker 2: you know, you don't have to make them feel stupid
- 22:25Speaker 2: or like feel like they're doing something incredibly wrong. There's
- 22:28Speaker 2: a way to talk to people and find a middle ground,
- 22:31Speaker 2: I think without making them feel stupid.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I don't know that I've mastered that. Now that I'm
- 22:36Speaker 3: living with Mike.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I need some good.
- 22:43Speaker 7: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 22:47Speaker 7: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 22:50Speaker 1: This is a wonderful love story.
- 22:52Speaker 2: And we talked a lot about, you know, kind of
- 22:54Speaker 2: back to school, back to college. Well about how about
- 22:57Speaker 2: these two Bison standouts, NDSU basketball stand out Avery Conan
- 23:02Speaker 2: and Bison quarterback Tray Drake.
- 23:04Speaker 1: They are engaged.
- 23:06Speaker 2: The first two met back in twenty twenty two while
- 23:09Speaker 2: appearing together on Hot Mike, and now they're getting ready
- 23:13Speaker 2: to say I do. Both eventually landed at NDSU and
- 23:16Speaker 2: twenty twenty three and their relationship has grown right alongside
- 23:20Speaker 2: their Bison careers. So I'll bring big congratulations to Avery
- 23:24Speaker 2: and Trey for making some plays on the court and
- 23:26Speaker 2: on the football field, to making one very important play,
- 23:30Speaker 2: and that is their future together. This is the sweet
- 23:33Speaker 2: a Bison love story with a happy ending and apparently
- 23:36Speaker 2: a wedding coming up.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Wonderful news for those two. I hope it's the best
- 23:40Speaker 1: day ever.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Your engagement's fun, planning, it's fun, and you have as
- 23:44Speaker 2: magical a day as I did on my wedding day.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So way to go to Avery and Drake And you
- 23:49Speaker 2: know my favorite quote if you don't hear it is
- 23:51Speaker 2: the world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 23:53Speaker 2: find one, b one and broken crans, they still color
