- 0:00Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why is a founding member of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to b FY tw episode number three
- 0:42Speaker 2: oh nine. What is up, Ladies and jellyspoons.
- 0:47Speaker 1: We're not threeh nine already?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Well, the last episode was three oh eight, and I
- 0:52Speaker 2: said the same thing. We're on episode threeh eight already.
- 0:54Speaker 1: The last one was three oh six.
- 0:57Speaker 2: You skipped three oh seven?
- 0:58Speaker 1: Then, no, I think you skipped ahead last week. I
- 1:02Speaker 1: wasn't gonna say no. Are you sure?
- 1:08Speaker 2: I did not label that episode episode three oh eight?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Where an episode? How much?
- 1:13Speaker 2: I labeled this one three nine.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Because six is BF eppardy, three oh five is Chili show,
- 1:20Speaker 1: three or four is Amazing Animals? And three oh three
- 1:22Speaker 1: is where's timeline? All in order?
- 1:25Speaker 2: If you if you go back and look at the
- 1:26Speaker 2: BFY TW staff channel, the ZO meeting. I know BF. No,
- 1:31Speaker 2: I didn't correct number three oh eight. You made that.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I didn't write it. You made.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I understand that. But it's not right.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It is not right. But it's not my fault. It's yours. Damnit.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So this is episode three oh seven, not three oh nine.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Correct, Okay, Jesus Christ Brienheart's God damn it, Stevie.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Well, I've been doing this for three hundred plus episode.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's okay, it's fun.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah you can. You're allowed to make mistakes this early on.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 2:13Speaker 2: God damn it. All right, let's get this nightmare under
- 2:23Speaker 2: the order quickly so it's over faster by t W
- 2:28Speaker 2: we play silly games and make each other laugh. We
- 2:33Speaker 2: are going to do more of the same. We've got
- 2:35Speaker 2: three games lined up in whichever one of these people win,
- 2:38Speaker 2: they I guess yay for them. That's there's no stakes,
- 2:42Speaker 2: they get nothing.
- 2:43Speaker 5: I give them nothing.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We we.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Care very little about the results of this, but but
- 2:51Speaker 2: we're going to play anyway anyways, still fun.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Hear it out by now.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I always start the show by asking a question of
- 3:05Speaker 2: my people in ways of an in like an introduction.
- 3:08Speaker 2: So our question this time is gonna be what is
- 3:10Speaker 2: your favorite horror franchise of all time? Can be anything,
- 3:15Speaker 2: can be video games, books, movies, TV, anything you want.
- 3:20Speaker 2: What is your favorite? We're gonna start with he's a
- 3:22Speaker 2: gamer and a storyteller. Used to be my youngest friend.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Now he's Augie. It's Augie.
- 3:28Speaker 6: He's a dog, it's me, it's a you, My favorite
- 3:47Speaker 6: horror I.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Mean easily everyone knows my favorite horror is Call Outthulu,
- 3:54Speaker 3: my favorite psychological horror works. It's it's great. It's because
- 3:59Speaker 3: it's it's really just it's as you read it, it
- 4:04Speaker 3: literally makes you question what you're reading because the way
- 4:08Speaker 3: it's written is just, uh, it's meant to be just
- 4:13Speaker 3: to paint a picture. It's a very interesting way of
- 4:16Speaker 3: trying to describe something alien but in like human terms,
- 4:22Speaker 3: and it does a really good job of kind of
- 4:25Speaker 3: like making you feel like what what you're reading about
- 4:28Speaker 3: when it was like describing a monster just does not
- 4:31Speaker 3: seem natural even in writing. So one of my favorite
- 4:37Speaker 3: or genres o call call Wu.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah I did. I think I played a Call of
- 4:46Speaker 2: Cthulhu survival horror game on Xbox for like five seconds.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But what I did play was pretty good. Yeah, didn't
- 4:54Speaker 2: know what I was doing or how to proceed. So
- 4:58Speaker 2: can be hit or miss. Yeah, the games can be.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I there are something that I do want to get into,
- 5:04Speaker 2: like the Sink kind of.
- 5:05Speaker 3: There's really good adaptations, like World of Horrors is like
- 5:08Speaker 3: a good like Black and White Japanese Jim Jo.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I've heard about that one.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really good, and there's like a bunch of
- 5:17Speaker 3: others too. They're just they are. I would always recommend
- 5:21Speaker 3: reading the books if you can, just because that's really
- 5:24Speaker 3: where you get the real feel for it. The video
- 5:28Speaker 3: games do good, but they but it's a video game,
- 5:31Speaker 3: so you can never really convey things without being like, hey,
- 5:35Speaker 3: it's a game.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It's just it's how it works. It's it's very interesting
- 5:39Speaker 2: because I remember playing the Sinking City and getting just
- 5:42Speaker 2: a very off putting vibe just from the intro. I mean, yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 2: it's constantly raining and everything's wet, so there's that. So
- 5:50Speaker 2: everything's just kind of because it's wet and nasty. But
- 5:54Speaker 2: then like one of the first major NPCs you talked
- 5:57Speaker 2: to is very clearly a man with a face, and
- 6:02Speaker 2: everybody just kind of accepts it that this is normal,
- 6:05Speaker 2: and and even your character is like you, look, you've
- 6:10Speaker 2: got a very how to say this without offending you,
- 6:15Speaker 2: but you have a distinct look. Yeah, So yeah, it's
- 6:19Speaker 2: it's it's it's off putting from the get from the
- 6:22Speaker 2: get go, and I imagine as the game goes on
- 6:24Speaker 2: it only gets worse. But again, that's another one that
- 6:26Speaker 2: I played for five minutes, never actually finished, So, yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 2: I completely get where you come from, and I hope
- 6:33Speaker 2: someday to have leisure to actually redive into these games
- 6:36Speaker 2: and see what they're actually all about.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, they're good psychological horrors if nothing else, because again
- 6:42Speaker 3: you're like, oh, they make you question what's real and
- 6:45Speaker 3: then what it's hard to describe what you're seeing in
- 6:48Speaker 3: front of you, the kind of thing it's like. It
- 6:50Speaker 3: makes you be like, what the fuck do you even
- 6:52Speaker 3: call that? What is that? Yeah?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Anyway, his opponent, he is a veteran and a podcaster
- 6:59Speaker 2: and technical. By law, we have to call him a
- 7:02Speaker 2: veteran podcaster. It's Stevie.
- 7:06Speaker 5: It's Steve.
- 7:08Speaker 2: It's Steve. Want awareness whole, It's Stevey. It's STEVEYA weareness
- 7:16Speaker 2: hole busted out the full version.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh it's awesome.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So I still prefer the punk version, but it is
- 7:29Speaker 2: nice to hear the folk version every now and then.
- 7:31Speaker 1: As I grabbed that, that's awesome.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Favorite horror franchise of anything, at first, I was gonna
- 7:39Speaker 2: go with the like, the one everybody that probably knows
- 7:42Speaker 2: me would say is the Stream franchise.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I love the Stream franchise. Buddy, You did not know
- 7:47Speaker 1: that about you Oh my god. Yeah, it's one of
- 7:50Speaker 1: those things.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I never get invited for movie night. I don't get
- 7:56Speaker 2: to see what you're a big, huge fan of. How
- 7:58Speaker 2: would I know that? That's fair?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Like the scream is one of those things like
- 8:02Speaker 1: it grew up like in our generator, was created in
- 8:05Speaker 1: our generation, you know, and it was right after all
- 8:07Speaker 1: the classic horror movies were all created, you know, from
- 8:11Speaker 1: like the seventies and eighties and stuff going into the nineties,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and you get screaming that. It's like that was hard generation.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So the first two movies I really do enjoy. Third
- 8:20Speaker 1: one has Jane Sylmbob and you know, it's awesome shit.
- 8:23Speaker 1: So that's what That's what I was originally gonna go with.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And then I started thinking more about it, and you
- 8:28Speaker 1: said beyond all genres, and I started thinking, I'm like, yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 1: movies probably scream, but all genres, I've got to go doom, doom,
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yes it is. And I know I'm gonna say this,
- 8:42Speaker 1: like the old man I am the kids dayse days
- 8:44Speaker 1: don't understand when you were in a basement and you
- 8:47Speaker 1: were freaking in nineteen ninety three and you're in the dark,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and it was a dark corridor and all you hear
- 8:53Speaker 1: is is sick ass freaking metal music. And you hear
- 8:57Speaker 1: all these demons coming around, but you don't know where
- 8:58Speaker 1: they are. The lights out in a giant Pinky's coming
- 9:01Speaker 1: running down the hallway, h and you scream a bit. Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 1: it's a little scary, but like and I'm talking about
- 9:07Speaker 1: the entire collection though, mostly because I got a special
- 9:12Speaker 1: copy of the one of one of the first mouse
- 9:17Speaker 1: keyboard Doom games. I think it was Doom three they
- 9:21Speaker 1: had that was one of the first ones that did that.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I can't quite remember best keyboard.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Do you mean you mean you could move the camera
- 9:28Speaker 2: separate to all over Yeah, okay, yeah, no, I know
- 9:30Speaker 2: what you mean. Yeah, Doom three I think was the
- 9:32Speaker 2: first one that I'll think.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So, So I had a special copy that before my
- 9:35Speaker 1: very first tour in Iraq, so I was over there.
- 9:38Speaker 2: And that's more of a horror game than one or
- 9:41Speaker 2: two Are and Leaps and bounds. It is much scarier,
- 9:46Speaker 2: so not as much, not as much running and gunning,
- 9:49Speaker 2: not as much action, but much more creepy. And also
- 9:52Speaker 2: the game legit tries to scare you.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Yeah, look, you're hearing things purposely a different sections, so
- 9:58Speaker 1: you will turn there and then when you turn back
- 9:59Speaker 1: around something else is there, which was great. I loved it.
- 10:02Speaker 1: But yeah, that's me with the headphones on in a
- 10:05Speaker 1: tent in Iraq, actual things going on around me, just
- 10:08Speaker 1: playing to them, freaking out every time something like jumped
- 10:12Speaker 1: into my screen. Well yeah, I still love that franchise today.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I still play practically all the Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah that's fair. And finally i'm your host pants's Aaron
- 10:22Speaker 2: Augie hit it? Sorry? Sorry I should have said Stevie,
- 10:41Speaker 2: fuck you? Uh anyway, Uh yeah, I I I told
- 10:47Speaker 2: these fools that they could probably guess what my favorite
- 10:50Speaker 2: horror franchise was, and then they completely got it wrong
- 10:53Speaker 2: during the pre pre show, and so now I'm not
- 10:56Speaker 2: sure if they know me at all.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Very very clearly, franchise.
- 11:02Speaker 2: No, very clearly, I am a resident evil head. Calm
- 11:11Speaker 2: the fuck on. Yeah. It was the first horror franchise
- 11:16Speaker 2: that could really get into because until that game came around,
- 11:20Speaker 2: there really weren't horror video games, and I couldn't watch
- 11:23Speaker 2: horror movies because the gore made me sick. So finally,
- 11:26Speaker 2: here was this horror franchise that I could actually enjoy.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Uh And I really, really really got into it. I've
- 11:34Speaker 2: played and beaten I think every single Resident Evil game,
- 11:36Speaker 2: saved two Resident Evil Guide In for the game Boy,
- 11:41Speaker 2: and Resident Evil Revelations, to which I've played but not finished.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And of course there's Resident Evil nine coming around the corner.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So lately I've been playing Resident Evil likes so indie
- 11:55Speaker 2: games that have taken on the survival horror spirit and
- 11:58Speaker 2: come up with their own twist on it. Okay, and
- 12:01Speaker 2: I've played some really good ones. I played a game
- 12:04Speaker 2: called Them and Us, which is again an indie horror game,
- 12:09Speaker 2: but it very much knows its roots, and it tosses
- 12:15Speaker 2: more than one wink to the camera, you know, as
- 12:19Speaker 2: you're playing that game, including the ending, the special ending
- 12:24Speaker 2: you can get in the second playthrough, which is literally
- 12:29Speaker 2: just a takeoff of Dino Crisis. Main character goes through
- 12:32Speaker 2: a portal and comes out with short red hair and
- 12:35Speaker 2: a leather suit and an AK forty seven. Then there's
- 12:38Speaker 2: dinosaurs all over the place. I'm like, oh, come on, guys,
- 12:43Speaker 2: very clearly a wink in or not. But the other
- 12:46Speaker 2: one I've been playing has been even better if it
- 12:48Speaker 2: weren't for the bugs. The bugs are a problem it's
- 12:53Speaker 2: like Tormented Souls one and two. Tormented Souls has one
- 12:59Speaker 2: of the darkest stories I think I've ever played in
- 13:01Speaker 2: a video game. I think one of the reasons I
- 13:02Speaker 2: like Resident Evil so much is because even though it's
- 13:04Speaker 2: a horror game, the story is still light. Like it's
- 13:08Speaker 2: just zombies. There's not really a lot of man in
- 13:12Speaker 2: humanity demand going on in there. Tormented Soul says, fuck that,
- 13:17Speaker 2: we're going full dark. Enjoy it so ill. Not only
- 13:22Speaker 2: is it a horror game and there's a lot of
- 13:23Speaker 2: horrific stuff, but the story is also pretty damn horrific.
- 13:30Speaker 2: And I'll explain why when we get into game two,
- 13:33Speaker 2: But for right now, I'm playing the sequel, Tormented Souls too,
- 13:36Speaker 2: and that game is would be just as good if
- 13:40Speaker 2: if I hadn't found myself soft locked like a a
- 13:45Speaker 2: good fifty to sixty percent of the way through the game.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I was like, son of a bitch, I did find
- 13:51Speaker 2: a workaround this morning.
- 13:52Speaker 1: That sucks, though.
- 13:53Speaker 2: It feels like I patched the game to the newest
- 13:57Speaker 2: version and that apparently cleared up the soft lock, So.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's good.
- 14:01Speaker 3: At least it was a patch out of it, like
- 14:02Speaker 3: it seeks when there isn't and you're like, I have
- 14:05Speaker 3: I have to restart.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Something invertently downloaded an older version by mistake, sou But
- 14:14Speaker 2: once I pass it up to the newest, it's fine,
- 14:17Speaker 2: and I'm continuing to play through and we'll see how
- 14:19Speaker 2: that game is when I get to the end. But
- 14:20Speaker 2: now that game has started to wink at the camera
- 14:25Speaker 2: just once, and it's it's kind of subtle if you
- 14:27Speaker 2: don't know what you're looking for. But you go into
- 14:29Speaker 2: one office and there's like a desk against a window,
- 14:32Speaker 2: and then there's three plants and there's one green, one red,
- 14:36Speaker 2: and one blue, and they look like the herbs from Residual.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm like, you, sons of bitches. I thought you were
- 14:43Speaker 2: above this.
- 14:45Speaker 3: At the camera and go.
- 14:49Speaker 2: This joke is between us, Yes, don't tell them anyway.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Let's get to our game, shall we. Our first game
- 15:00Speaker 2: is going to be called like Share Block. I've got
- 15:02Speaker 2: three new stories here. All our players have to do
- 15:05Speaker 2: is tell me which one of these stories I would like,
- 15:07Speaker 2: which one I would share in, which one I would
- 15:08Speaker 2: block on social media. Whoever finds the correct combination, and
- 15:12Speaker 2: there is only one correct combination, will win the game.
- 15:15Speaker 2: And earn one episode point. Our first news story, Russia
- 15:20Speaker 2: is developing remote controlled spy pigeons. Now this sounds like
- 15:25Speaker 2: a story ripped out of a half baked spy thriller,
- 15:29Speaker 2: but according to Russian scientists, it's very real. There is
- 15:34Speaker 2: a Russian neuroscience company called Nieri Group. They have developed
- 15:40Speaker 2: a technology allowing them to install implants into lobotomized pigeons
- 15:46Speaker 2: brains that allows them to be capable of controlling their actions.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Operators can take control of the birds in the same
- 15:55Speaker 2: way as remote controlled drones and fly them around.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Oh boy, you might know some stuff about this story.
- 16:17Speaker 3: People have never used pigeons for warfare ever in the
- 16:21Speaker 3: history of ever.
- 16:22Speaker 2: No, never, or.
- 16:26Speaker 3: To carry messages across mout early long distances.
- 16:30Speaker 1: There is bombs. Yeah therefore, yeah, yeah, it's fucked up.
- 16:36Speaker 2: This is slightly more creepy.
- 16:40Speaker 3: It's a less humane, I will be honest. I mean
- 16:43Speaker 3: not that it was any.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Better, but this is definitely like it might be worse
- 16:48Speaker 2: than you think because the Russian government is funding the program.
- 16:52Speaker 2: One number two, the founder of the company, has gone
- 16:56Speaker 2: on record claiming he wants to start brainwashing people into
- 17:01Speaker 2: obedient slaves in much the same way.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Hey, did you just watch the season finale of series
- 17:08Speaker 1: season two for Fallout?
- 17:13Speaker 3: Reality of all? What the fuck?
- 17:16Speaker 1: Like, Jesus chriss it is real? Yep, yeah, watch the
- 17:21Speaker 1: show and we could do that.
- 17:22Speaker 2: This feels like season one of the Downfall of Humanity
- 17:26Speaker 2: is what this feels like it.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Was last season.
- 17:31Speaker 2: If this finds a way to get out, like if
- 17:34Speaker 2: they turn it into like an airborne thing, like, yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 2: it's all over. It's been fun. I've enjoyed the run
- 17:43Speaker 2: so far, but it's apparently coming to an end.
- 17:48Speaker 8: Now.
- 17:49Speaker 3: To be fair, theoretically, if it were to happen that way,
- 17:52Speaker 3: you would never know, so you'd be happy.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Still, here's here's a couple of things that give me hope.
- 17:58Speaker 2: First of all, in order to make this work at all,
- 18:02Speaker 2: they they claim that the implants don't harm the birds
- 18:05Speaker 2: or shorten their lifespans. However, it definitely does. They haven't
- 18:09Speaker 2: published any scientific papers about how it works at all,
- 18:12Speaker 2: so it's impossible to say. However, it only sort of works.
- 18:17Speaker 2: There's a test video of a pigeon flying left or
- 18:20Speaker 2: right as the operator commands. However, the bird's flight does
- 18:24Speaker 2: not look natural.
- 18:26Speaker 3: No, it's not because it's a drone, tarred and feathered
- 18:31Speaker 3: to make it look.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Works.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Look, they're stimulating the brain in that one spot to
- 18:38Speaker 1: make it move.
- 18:38Speaker 3: It's doesn't, Yeah, it's And the thing is as soon
- 18:41Speaker 3: as it goes out of their line of sight, they're
- 18:44Speaker 3: not going to see where it's going. They're not going
- 18:46Speaker 3: to be able to detect like the turbulence like it
- 18:49Speaker 3: can and show like that. Yeah, it's going to fall
- 18:51Speaker 3: right out of the sky.
- 18:52Speaker 1: So sure the planting cameras on it too, or in it.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I wouldn't be camera in christ Oh my would not
- 19:00Speaker 1: be surprised though. Anyway, they do some animals. Look at
- 19:03Speaker 1: the rocket ship. Rocket ships. I'm sorry, there was way
- 19:08Speaker 1: more than one.
- 19:08Speaker 3: My bad.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Uh yeah, it'dad. It's gross.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Well let's move on to something a little bit happier,
- 19:17Speaker 2: shall we? Yay happy story number two, The blizzard lizard
- 19:21Speaker 2: rescued from a winter storm in Rhode Island. So yes,
- 19:28Speaker 2: people have found all sorts of surprising things buried in snow,
- 19:31Speaker 2: but a Rhode Island man shoveling his driveway got the
- 19:35Speaker 2: shock of his life when he discovered a tagu lizard
- 19:40Speaker 2: in the snow bank.
- 19:42Speaker 1: It's a tag lizard.
- 19:44Speaker 2: It is a black and white spotted lizard. Its scales
- 19:54Speaker 2: kind of alternate. There's there's pictures of it online. If
- 19:57Speaker 2: you want to take a look, you just google blizzard lizard.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Sure you're gonna find it. The man immediately took the
- 20:05Speaker 2: lizard inside and wrapped it up to give it some warmth.
- 20:09Speaker 2: He then called a local exotic pet store to ask
- 20:13Speaker 2: if they could take care of it. The pet store
- 20:16Speaker 2: teamed up with the New England Wildlife Center and they
- 20:19Speaker 2: took the Tegu lizard in. It's survival was in question
- 20:25Speaker 2: because the lizard was extremely weak from the cold, and
- 20:29Speaker 2: the vets did have to amputate parts of the tagu's
- 20:33Speaker 2: tongue due to severe frostbite. Oh no, yeah, but but
- 20:38Speaker 2: the lizard is recovering. It's not it's not completely in
- 20:44Speaker 2: the clear, but the lizard's recovery is ongoing. Uh. They're
- 20:49Speaker 2: just trying to figure out how on earth this lizard
- 20:52Speaker 2: wound up in the snow in the first place, right
- 20:57Speaker 2: just just just in this dude's driveway in Providence, Rhode Island.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Just to just the the lizard just kind of crawls
- 21:06Speaker 2: out of the snow very slowly and he's like, oh,
- 21:11Speaker 2: I gotta say, I gotta save this little guy.
- 21:13Speaker 1: That's awesome. Man, Like, good, good on you dude for
- 21:17Speaker 1: saving that lizard that was just like to be frozen
- 21:21Speaker 1: here in a couple of minutes.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Genuine heroic moment right by a dude just randomly shoveling
- 21:27Speaker 2: his driveway and out comes a lizard and he goes,
- 21:29Speaker 2: but okay, come on, let's get you warmed up, buddy.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah, freaking awesome.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I'd like to think I'd do the same in similar circumstances,
- 21:37Speaker 2: but I might be just so weirded out that I
- 21:40Speaker 2: wouldn't know what to do.
- 21:43Speaker 5: I probably okay, what do I do?
- 21:48Speaker 3: Well, if you're fighting like a tago or any kind
- 21:52Speaker 3: of lizard, Honestly, around here, it's it is one hundred
- 21:56Speaker 3: percent someone's fucking pet, so you're probably safe to grab it,
- 22:01Speaker 3: bring it inside, try to warm it up. If you can,
- 22:03Speaker 3: immediately call animal control or SPCA and they have them
- 22:07Speaker 3: come out and grab it, uh, because yeah, let them
- 22:11Speaker 3: take care of it from there on, because it is
- 22:13Speaker 3: quite like the lizards can handle the cold for you know,
- 22:18Speaker 3: to a degree obviously through to like like that, but
- 22:21Speaker 3: not if they're like tropical lizards like shit that doesn't experienced.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Stuff like that.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's kind of crazy. I'd imagine it was
- 22:32Speaker 3: probably a neighbor's plant pat that either got out or
- 22:35Speaker 3: they lit out.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I mean, I would honestly, like I would think this
- 22:39Speaker 2: would be easy to track down, right, because this is
- 22:43Speaker 2: not this is lizard is not remotely native to our area.
- 22:46Speaker 2: They're from like the rainforests and grasslands of Central and
- 22:50Speaker 2: South America. Yeah, so what it's doing in Rhode Island,
- 22:55Speaker 2: somebody must have it's someone's pet, someone must have purchased
- 22:58Speaker 2: this animals, So clearly it must be trackable somehow. I
- 23:02Speaker 2: have to imagine there's a very low number of tag
- 23:05Speaker 2: you lizards in the United States.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Well the first thing, yeah, I was gonna say. The
- 23:12Speaker 3: first thing is the question is is that is that
- 23:15Speaker 3: particular species of tagu lizard allowed in the US. Because
- 23:18Speaker 3: that the answer is no, then that's why it's appeared
- 23:22Speaker 3: out of nowhere. No one's claiming it because if they
- 23:25Speaker 3: claim it, they'll get a fucking rest. But if it's
- 23:31Speaker 3: a perhoegularly legal to own lizard and no one's claiming it,
- 23:36Speaker 3: that either means that the person in question either doesn't
- 23:38Speaker 3: know it's missing at all or purposely let it go.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Well if if they did something in humane, I
- 23:49Speaker 2: hope they get punished for it. In the meanwhile, they've
- 23:52Speaker 2: identified the lizard as female and named it Frankie uh
- 23:57Speaker 2: and they're currently the lizard is currently house at the
- 24:00Speaker 2: odd pet Vet cool being taken care of. All right,
- 24:08Speaker 2: shall we move on to our third and final story?
- 24:13Speaker 9: Ye?
- 24:14Speaker 2: Okay, Florida man arrested for exposing himself and making love
- 24:20Speaker 2: to a vacuum cleaner.
- 24:24Speaker 1: The person or the equipment, yes, yes, oh my god.
- 24:32Speaker 2: No, he was making love to someone named vacuum cleaner.
- 24:35Speaker 2: What do you think happened?
- 24:40Speaker 9: I mean, really, who the hell calls their who calls
- 24:47Speaker 9: her fucking child?
- 24:49Speaker 1: Clear?
- 24:49Speaker 2: Come on? So, residence of a kissing me Florida neighborhood
- 24:54Speaker 2: alerted the police to a man who was flashing passerby
- 24:58Speaker 2: in the area, as you do in Florida. By the
- 25:02Speaker 2: time the cops got there, he was long gone. However,
- 25:06Speaker 2: they learned that before he left, he performed a sex
- 25:10Speaker 2: act with the vacuum cleaner, as you do in Florida.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Right now, they've identified the man and they've arrested him.
- 25:21Speaker 2: They also learned some other curious tidbits. Uh this gentleman
- 25:25Speaker 2: is supposedly an Airbnb host. Oh god, no, oh man?
- 25:35Speaker 3: Uh, well, you gotta tell me.
- 25:40Speaker 9: Was it a bistole? Was it a brownstone? It's separate
- 25:49Speaker 9: from the main property. I legitimately don't know. But I
- 25:54Speaker 9: can't say anything about the vacuum cleaner. I I wouldn't talk.
- 25:59Speaker 1: It always tries to run away.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Uh yeah, so there's really not too much to say.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Really sucks.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Aaron, one of the residents shot video which will show why,
- 26:21Speaker 2: and I don't think it's it's been made public. I
- 26:23Speaker 2: think it's currently in the custody of the the authorities
- 26:27Speaker 2: in the area. But the video did show a male
- 26:30Speaker 2: partially clothed in front of a residence engaged in a
- 26:35Speaker 2: sexual performance with a vacuum cleaner.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Was the vacuum set to suck or blow?
- 26:42Speaker 1: If he was just making could have been either? Could
- 26:48Speaker 1: you can make out with a vacuum and not?
- 26:50Speaker 2: Alternately, you know, just flip it back.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Vacuum sexy as vacuum. He's looking over you.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Find a vacuum clean with tits him out of here.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Thank you, it's tracking you.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Uh cognito search incognito browser.
- 27:15Speaker 3: For maybe that would have helped if now you are
- 27:21Speaker 3: just fall apart. Never mind there are no vacuums there,
- 27:26Speaker 3: and see a single vacuum in that picture. Okay.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Uh. He has been arrested and was booked into the
- 27:35Speaker 2: county jail, but has reportedly been released. He's been charged
- 27:39Speaker 2: with exposure of sexual organs, which is a first degree misdemeanor.
- 27:44Speaker 2: He's due for court carrying in February.
- 27:47Speaker 1: First wall, no first degrees premeditated.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Never mind, that's murdered, Jesus.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Hopefully it doesn't mean murder anything. First degree is premeditated.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Second degrees you do and on this spot, yeah, situational?
- 28:03Speaker 2: All right, Well, hopefully they can. I hope he took
- 28:07Speaker 2: the vacuum cleaner out for dinner first.
- 28:09Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Hopefully he could talk to the.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Vacuum cleaner order.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I could just see them talking to the concierge.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I'm just trying to figure out how they know it's premeditated.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Did he have plans like written like on a sheet.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Did he write penus into a vacuum? He put it
- 28:31Speaker 2: on the fridge.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Vacuum cleaner equals.
- 28:36Speaker 1: He he just lit a candle, that's all you say.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Vacuumaner.
- 28:44Speaker 3: But I wish I did nothing cleaner than a vacuum cleaner.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Oh, you need to sell vacuum cleaner attachments. You knew
- 28:58Speaker 1: you would make so much.
- 29:00Speaker 3: We didn't call me.
- 29:05Speaker 2: We need to clip this for social media. We absolutely
- 29:08Speaker 2: need to clip this. Oh my god. Okay, that's all
- 29:15Speaker 2: three news stories. Okay, Russia's developing remote controlled spy pigeons,
- 29:20Speaker 2: Blizzard Lizzard rescued from a winter storm in Rhode Island,
- 29:23Speaker 2: and Florida man exposing himself and making love to a
- 29:26Speaker 2: vacuum cleaner. I don't remember who won the last game.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Oh yes, I do remember what we were doing, and
- 29:34Speaker 2: which means Stevie lost that game. So Aggie, you are
- 29:39Speaker 2: you're going to be considered the winner in this case.
- 29:41Speaker 2: So I'll get see the first pick, Stevie, Which of
- 29:44Speaker 2: these did I like? Which one did I share? And
- 29:46Speaker 2: which one did I block?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Oh god, I'm starting to think you're liking the Florida one.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Now would be okay, the lizard.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I don't know what was what's the first one? Again?
- 30:03Speaker 1: Already forgot The first one.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Was Russia developing remote controlled spy pigeons.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Let's block Russia. I think that's smart and everybody should
- 30:11Speaker 1: do that, all right. Now it comes down to these two.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Because this guy did help a lizend never I did
- 30:18Speaker 1: fuck a vacuum.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Both wildly different things, both equally great in their own way.
- 30:29Speaker 1: They are like on top the other.
- 30:33Speaker 2: I think we're gonna.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Ah, let's let's like the lizard and share the vacuum fucking.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough, Augie. You may you may keep one
- 30:48Speaker 2: of those and swap the other two, or you may
- 30:51Speaker 2: go entirely your own way. What would you like to do?
- 30:53Speaker 1: All right?
- 30:54Speaker 3: Well, I gotta keep the block the Russia spy pigeon thing,
- 30:57Speaker 3: because if nothing else, it's pretty inhumane practice against an
- 31:01Speaker 3: animal that doesn't deserve it. You know, do whatever you
- 31:05Speaker 3: want to your own people, leave everything else out of it.
- 31:09Speaker 3: But I would have to say, then, because he Stevie
- 31:13Speaker 3: took mine, you will instead share the good story of
- 31:18Speaker 3: the lizard being rescued out of the blizzard. And just
- 31:22Speaker 3: like the Florida man being arrested for turning that on switch.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Can you make mega mating like a new vega?
- 31:36Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 31:38Speaker 1: Can we start that? So when someone just like has sexual, evacuate.
- 31:46Speaker 3: The vacuum. You're mega mating.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Well, Augie, it's a good thing that Stebee sold those
- 31:53Speaker 2: from you, because you are absolutely wrong. I did share
- 31:58Speaker 2: the Blizzard lizard and like the Florida Man and block
- 32:01Speaker 2: the Russia pigeons. Block Russia pigeons because it's inhumane all
- 32:06Speaker 2: the way down, and their founder wants to do the
- 32:08Speaker 2: same thing. Humans, go fuck yourself, whoever you are. Story
- 32:13Speaker 2: number two is sweet, is genuinely a sweet story, and honestly,
- 32:19Speaker 2: we need more just everyday heroism in our news, just
- 32:23Speaker 2: period like this. This is the kind of thing that
- 32:25Speaker 2: it makes me happy to be a human, So one
- 32:28Speaker 2: hundred percent share that. However, there was no way in
- 32:31Speaker 2: hell I was gonna block the Florida Man showing his
- 32:35Speaker 2: way to everybody and then having sex with a vacuum cleaner,
- 32:38Speaker 2: because that's fucking funny. I absolutely like that. So Augie
- 32:43Speaker 2: wins the first game, he is ahead with his vacuum cleaner,
- 32:50Speaker 2: and when we come back, we're gonna play game two
- 32:55Speaker 2: and someone can win two points and play that game
- 32:58Speaker 2: right after this.
- 33:07Speaker 8: If you like fun, then you're gonna love the beard
- 33:10Speaker 8: Out Podcast. It's a podcast where we talk about two
- 33:13Speaker 8: of the greatest things in the world, Beer and weird Out,
- 33:16Speaker 8: and frankly, we talk more about weird Out than anything because.
- 33:20Speaker 2: He's the gift that keeps on given.
- 33:23Speaker 8: So join us as we talk through weird Al's career,
- 33:26Speaker 8: what he needs to us, and we have some very
- 33:29Speaker 8: special guests on to discuss the magic that is Alfred
- 33:33Speaker 8: Matthew Yankovic beard Out part of the Odd Good Media Network.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game two. Game
- 33:52Speaker 2: two is gonna be pop Culture Fight Club Day. This
- 33:57Speaker 2: game was generously described and don't to us by Colin
- 34:01Speaker 2: Meggs much thanks Colin. It is a game of answering
- 34:04Speaker 2: a tough question and defending your position. I'm going to
- 34:08Speaker 2: ask each player for the best something or their favorite
- 34:12Speaker 2: something from the world of pop culture, and they'll have
- 34:14Speaker 2: to explain and defend themselves as best they can. When
- 34:18Speaker 2: they're done, we will the others will ask questions trying
- 34:21Speaker 2: to weaken their position, especially their opposition, and the best answer,
- 34:26Speaker 2: as judged by me, is going to get two episode points.
- 34:30Speaker 2: So this week, as I said, I've been inspired by
- 34:32Speaker 2: horror games. A load of my favorite horror games feature
- 34:35Speaker 2: horrific acts and scares galore. But what fictional event in
- 34:40Speaker 2: a video game, TV show, movie, or book horrified you
- 34:45Speaker 2: the most? What froze your blood completely? The best answer
- 34:51Speaker 2: and defense wins Steve. You lost the last game, so
- 34:57Speaker 2: you have the choice do you want to go first
- 34:58Speaker 2: or do you want to make Augie.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Go for.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna go first, I think yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then what is it? What fictional event
- 35:10Speaker 2: in a horror title horrified you the Well, it doesn't
- 35:13Speaker 2: actually have to be a horror movie. It just has
- 35:15Speaker 2: to be a fictional event that horrified you. What would
- 35:19Speaker 2: you qualify? What do you think is the scariest or
- 35:23Speaker 2: most horrifying thing you've ever seen?
- 35:25Speaker 1: All right, let me set the scene a little bit.
- 35:28Speaker 1: So it's nineteen ninety two. It's around the time of Halloween.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I remember that the adults are all having their porch party.
- 35:42Speaker 1: So all the adults are on somebody's porch is pretty
- 35:44Speaker 1: much just drinking, having fun. Whatever do anyone adults do
- 35:47Speaker 1: sending all the kids to the neighbors house to watch movies?
- 35:51Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety two. I was ten years old. That year
- 35:55Speaker 1: the same movie released, which was A candy Man. If
- 36:00Speaker 1: you guys have ever seen Candy Man, the original one
- 36:02Speaker 1: from nineteen ninety two. Pretty graphic for the time and stuff.
- 36:07Speaker 1: There was racial like backing to it. But there's one
- 36:10Speaker 1: scene that I don't know when they removed it. They
- 36:13Speaker 1: removed it from all the digital versions of it. You
- 36:16Speaker 1: can go online and see the whole thing. They think
- 36:17Speaker 1: the Medela effect thing happened, but I'm like, I know
- 36:20Speaker 1: this happened because I saw that fucking thing, and I've
- 36:22Speaker 1: been scarred forever about it.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 36:25Speaker 1: And one of the scenes is the girl Helen. She
- 36:30Speaker 1: convinces Jake to open up about his candy Man fears
- 36:34Speaker 1: right and tells the story about an encounter that happened
- 36:39Speaker 1: with the candy Man. That's when Jake takes her to
- 36:42Speaker 1: this like outdoor public restrooms, you know the buildings like
- 36:46Speaker 1: male on one side, female and the other.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Yeah, So Jake takes her to the public recipoom and
- 36:52Speaker 1: recounts the story that a mother set her boy in
- 36:58Speaker 1: the restroom she shopped in the store across the street,
- 37:02Speaker 1: and then after that, the like horrifying screams could be
- 37:07Speaker 1: heard from that bathroom, and one of the brave men
- 37:11Speaker 1: like runs in there after hearing what it is to
- 37:13Speaker 1: check on the boy, and then second later the man
- 37:16Speaker 1: runs out, his hair like instantly turning white with fear
- 37:19Speaker 1: and shit and what it is, And the scene itself
- 37:23Speaker 1: cuts to this, and this fucked me up because this
- 37:26Speaker 1: is what I walked into. I'm watching this thing and
- 37:27Speaker 1: I'm freaking the fuck out. It cuts to Jake telling
- 37:32Speaker 1: the story of the aftermath, and the camera pans across
- 37:35Speaker 1: to a blood spattered bathroom like all fucked up in
- 37:39Speaker 1: a boy wailing on the floor for his mother, clutching
- 37:41Speaker 1: his bloodied crotch, and then to the toilet smear it
- 37:45Speaker 1: and doused him more of his blood. And Candy man
- 37:48Speaker 1: was a slave when he was alive, and I think
- 37:51Speaker 1: his mother was raped and then they put a bunch
- 37:53Speaker 1: of bees on his head or so had'm staying to death.
- 37:55Speaker 1: But he had his hand cut off and he had
- 37:57Speaker 1: a giant hook attached there and that's what he was
- 37:59Speaker 1: using to rip it all out and ship. So you
- 38:01Speaker 1: see the aftermath and this kid. Then it just fucked
- 38:04Speaker 1: with me, Like the way my imagination is, I could
- 38:06Speaker 1: see everything that was happening, so I just like ran
- 38:09Speaker 1: the funk out of the house, went back to the porch.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I'm saying the fuck ere, I am
- 38:12Speaker 1: not watching that ship. And then like a couple of
- 38:14Speaker 1: years later, watching it, I'm like, oh, that's what fucking happened.
- 38:17Speaker 1: But it fucked with me so goddamn hard Man, Yeah
- 38:21Speaker 1: it was. It was raw man.
- 38:23Speaker 3: It's nineties man, So he got his crowd tripped off.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Yeah, but the giant hook.
- 38:31Speaker 3: That's what happens when you try to fuck a vacuum exactly.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Don't vacuum services.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Clean clean three times, and.
- 38:46Speaker 1: He'll be there for you.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I don't have a I don't have a I don't
- 38:52Speaker 2: I don't have a I just don't.
- 38:55Speaker 3: It is pretty.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Yes, that that's that's fucked up.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I still think about it.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe I believe it.
- 39:05Speaker 3: I guess I don't know disfigurement.
- 39:11Speaker 2: As a child aftermath of it. Like your brain is
- 39:13Speaker 2: actually doing the work there, right, which is which is
- 39:17Speaker 2: how good horror works, honestly.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Yeah, when your imagination does most of the heavy lifting.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Your imagination will be worse than anything they can show you.
- 39:28Speaker 3: If I love slow Burns.
- 39:30Speaker 1: But yeah, it still fucks with me today, like it
- 39:32Speaker 1: still does. Like I don't know why they did a
- 39:35Speaker 1: great job with it. That's all I know.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Are you afraid to sit on a toilet outside?
- 39:41Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, for the same reason though.
- 39:45Speaker 2: I don't want different.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I just don't want to spread my st DS to
- 39:48Speaker 1: other people.
- 39:48Speaker 3: So I know, because of your IBS.
- 39:52Speaker 2: But whatever.
- 39:57Speaker 3: That day, Like I like, and I'm really concerned with
- 40:01Speaker 3: ib S.
- 40:02Speaker 1: It's topotely every day. Yeah, this should be another shirt.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I say. It's definitely a pretty good answer because it
- 40:14Speaker 2: was it was hard to attack, so.
- 40:17Speaker 3: It's hard to attack.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I know they I know they rebooted or remade Candy Man.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I never watched it, and I'm like, no, I'm good,
- 40:25Speaker 1: I'm good. I know they won't do that, but I'm like, no,
- 40:28Speaker 1: I don't even know.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, disfigurement's kind of hard to like be like, oh,
- 40:33Speaker 3: that's not scary, but like and you think about it,
- 40:36Speaker 3: it's like, well, yeah, we'll think about what happened in
- 40:38Speaker 3: that moment, like it's just gone.
- 40:43Speaker 1: It's just it's not like it's like hostile where it's
- 40:46Speaker 1: just like cutting people up, you know.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I do have to get props to Tony Todd,
- 40:50Speaker 2: the actor who was in that. He also did a
- 40:52Speaker 2: ton of other stuff. Was so fucking but he's he's,
- 40:57Speaker 2: he's he's literally incredible in that movie. And I the
- 41:00Speaker 2: fact that he got to do one last one before
- 41:02Speaker 2: he passed away and they let him I don't I
- 41:05Speaker 2: don't know if they let him improvise or if they
- 41:08Speaker 2: wrote it specifically for him to sound like he was
- 41:11Speaker 2: saying goodbye. But really, yeah, it's it's a it's a
- 41:15Speaker 2: really it's a really sweet moment, given that the character
- 41:19Speaker 2: is not known for being a sweet character, but he
- 41:22Speaker 2: literally says something to the effect of enjoy the time
- 41:25Speaker 2: you have, you know, don't don't spend so much, don't
- 41:29Speaker 2: spend so much time fighting faith that you forget to
- 41:31Speaker 2: enjoy what you have because it'll be gone sooner or later,
- 41:36Speaker 2: which I really dug that kind of that kind of message,
- 41:39Speaker 2: and especially when when I mean, I'm pretty sure he
- 41:43Speaker 2: knew that was going to be his last performance, so right, anything,
- 41:49Speaker 2: I just I just read the stories about it. I'd
- 41:51Speaker 2: never watched it. I've never seen a single Candy Man movie,
- 41:53Speaker 2: and now I'm afraid to so let's move on. It's
- 42:00Speaker 2: your turn. That was enough. Just hearing about it made
- 42:02Speaker 2: me clench so oggy oggie. What is your favorite well,
- 42:08Speaker 2: maybe not favorite favorite might not be the right word.
- 42:10Speaker 2: What what what fictional event horrified you the most?
- 42:20Speaker 3: No, I'm joking.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I'm joking.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Yeah, five nights at Ready's. I'm so glad that you
- 42:27Speaker 3: did clarify it because I did misraaid earlier because I
- 42:31Speaker 3: thought you had like most scared, not most horrified. I'm
- 42:36Speaker 3: glad you clarified horrified over terrified, because as.
- 42:41Speaker 2: It could, it could go either way.
- 42:43Speaker 3: I know, I was thinking to myself, I'm like, well,
- 42:46Speaker 3: like at a certain age, I stopped stop scaring me.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Like once in a while I might get like startled,
- 42:51Speaker 3: but my reaction isn't to lock up or seize up
- 42:54Speaker 3: or anything like that. It's usually followed up like a
- 42:56Speaker 3: oh or anger or.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Like I don't get scared like in a sphere sense
- 43:05Speaker 3: really anymore in any sensible word, but horrified. I'm glad
- 43:10Speaker 3: you said that because there actually is a funny enough
- 43:14Speaker 3: a scary movie that I have a hard time watching.
- 43:17Speaker 3: A specific part of it is the only one that
- 43:21Speaker 3: I have a very difficult time watching it, and it's
- 43:25Speaker 3: a scene from Trick or Treat and it's the scene
- 43:29Speaker 3: it's a little bit in the middle of the movie.
- 43:31Speaker 3: I don't want to spoil too much of it, because
- 43:32Speaker 3: it's pretty cool and how it all kind of comes together.
- 43:36Speaker 3: But it's a scene that basically results in just audio.
- 43:40Speaker 3: You don't see it, you don't see any of it,
- 43:42Speaker 3: you don't see the aftermath of it.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Nothing just audio.
- 43:46Speaker 3: You hear kids screaming and being torn apart, and you
- 43:54Speaker 3: don't see any of it. You don't see any of it.
- 43:56Speaker 3: You just hear it. And every time I have to
- 43:58Speaker 3: cover my ears or leave the room, I cannot do it.
- 44:02Speaker 3: It meant it, it freaks me out. It makes me
- 44:06Speaker 3: completely anxious. It's the only part of the entire movie
- 44:10Speaker 3: I cannot do. I can sit there and watch every
- 44:13Speaker 3: Saw movie. I can sit there and watch a hostile movie.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I can sit there and watch whatever horror movie you
- 44:19Speaker 3: want to put in front of me, and I'll be okay.
- 44:23Speaker 3: It doesn't matter if there's people getting torn apart, eaten alive, whatever,
- 44:28Speaker 3: kids screaming, bloody murder, and these kids actors adults. Now, obviously,
- 44:34Speaker 3: these kid actors did such a phenomenal job that just
- 44:38Speaker 3: my brain is. It puts all the pieces together, and
- 44:41Speaker 3: it's just I can't. I just can't.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I love the fact that you're not shown any
- 44:50Speaker 2: of it, and it's it's literally just it's literally just
- 44:54Speaker 2: your imagination again doing the work.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Audio just good.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Yeah, good audio. That's uh. And yeah, I'm pretty sure
- 45:06Speaker 2: I would also have a hard time with that, although
- 45:08Speaker 2: it wouldn't make me throw up, because for me, it's
- 45:12Speaker 2: the gore. It's actually seeing it that makes me sick.
- 45:14Speaker 2: So I see, see I not seeing it seems seems
- 45:20Speaker 2: a little bit easier for me. But that's just because
- 45:24Speaker 2: of how my stomach interacts.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Maybe if I saw it, maybe because my brain will
- 45:29Speaker 3: be like, oh that's good, prosthetics, good, good, whatever, because
- 45:33Speaker 3: it was just audio.
- 45:35Speaker 2: But let your brain, do you brain? These are kids,
- 45:40Speaker 2: right when you say kids, you mean like ten years.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Old, probably early teens.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Yeah, kids.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Well, the one kid was probably like twelve twelve.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's a point at which they become
- 45:52Speaker 2: snotty shits and you don't care so much anymore.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Well, that's the thing, though, they were ships.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Are still kids. They're still kids. Yeah, No, that's fair.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Exactly what they deserve to be torn apart.
- 46:06Speaker 3: What they did was wrong and they deserve punishment, but
- 46:08Speaker 3: they didn't deserve to get ripped apart.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I do like I do, and I both went with kids.
- 46:21Speaker 2: To guess other adults.
- 46:22Speaker 3: It's like that whatever, like.
- 46:24Speaker 10: Kids, that's awful. Yeah, this is gonna be It's gonna
- 46:30Speaker 10: be real hard to choose. While I'm thinking about it,
- 46:33Speaker 10: I'll go ahead and talk about my.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Pick for this, because again, I have nothing to attack
- 46:40Speaker 2: this on. I feel like I feel like the only
- 46:43Speaker 2: thing that I can't attack it on is the fact
- 46:45Speaker 2: that it wouldn't have bothered me as much because it
- 46:48Speaker 2: wouldn't have made me physically ill. It probably would have
- 46:51Speaker 2: made me disturbed, look much like it does you. So
- 46:55Speaker 2: I'm glad I didn't see it. Slash hear it seen.
- 47:00Speaker 1: He's talking about and I totally understand why they do it.
- 47:04Speaker 1: But I don't know. The media doesn't bother me. But
- 47:07Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Okay, I'm messed up. So are you in the snotty
- 47:11Speaker 2: little shit camp?
- 47:12Speaker 1: No, I don't know why this candy man thing freaked
- 47:16Speaker 1: me the fuck out. Just hearing kids screaming.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah that was another kid, which was weird because
- 47:21Speaker 3: like because again, yeah, if you were to talk to
- 47:23Speaker 3: me like when I was like sixteen seventeen, I might
- 47:26Speaker 3: have told you like, oh yeah, Slenderman scares the shit
- 47:29Speaker 3: out of me, or five Nights of Freddy's made me
- 47:31Speaker 3: jump a lot. But looking back at it, it was
- 47:34Speaker 3: just it was all just jump scares. It was like
- 47:36Speaker 3: brief moments of adrenaline spike and that's it.
- 47:39Speaker 1: It was a reaction and terror.
- 47:41Speaker 3: It didn't make me go, oh now I'm afraid of
- 47:43Speaker 3: animatronics now or people in white mask. I literally cosplated
- 47:46Speaker 3: his celender Man at a convention one time, Like it's
- 47:50Speaker 3: but this I could never.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Anyway, So I had real trouble picking one for real.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I genuinely there's a bunch that I would bring up,
- 48:03Speaker 2: Like I've talked before about the very first horror movie
- 48:06Speaker 2: that fucked me up, Deep Star six. Guy gets ripped
- 48:10Speaker 2: in half in a in a one in a water
- 48:12Speaker 2: suit and this torso is thrown into the into the
- 48:16Speaker 2: room while the tentacle monster is you know, attacking everybody
- 48:21Speaker 2: that did that did fuck me up for a good
- 48:23Speaker 2: long time. Had nightmares for a long time. But I
- 48:27Speaker 2: mean in terms of like nowadays, things that I think
- 48:30Speaker 2: if I were to go back and watch it as
- 48:32Speaker 2: an adult, I think it might actually take some of
- 48:35Speaker 2: the sting out of it because I'm much more inured
- 48:38Speaker 2: to that sort of thing now, but I still have trouble.
- 48:44Speaker 1: You'll be able to see the difference in technology, like
- 48:46Speaker 1: oh my god, this.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Is also might see the flaws and what was at
- 48:51Speaker 3: the time what they could do for editing and social effects.
- 48:54Speaker 2: So the I was, I was just talking about video games,
- 49:00Speaker 2: and one of the first things that I can remember
- 49:03Speaker 2: horrifying me and like there was there was some awful
- 49:09Speaker 2: stuff in both games. But Dead Space two has a
- 49:12Speaker 2: sequence where to cure yourself of the of the the
- 49:19Speaker 2: plague that is turning people into horrible monsters, you effectively
- 49:24Speaker 2: have to guide a needle into your own eye. Now,
- 49:31Speaker 2: I managed to do this on the first try successfully
- 49:34Speaker 2: because I was so fucking nervous that I moved so
- 49:38Speaker 2: slowly that it took about ten minutes. It's not that
- 49:44Speaker 2: long of a sequence. It's literally just lowering it gives
- 49:47Speaker 2: you have to you have to get it right in
- 49:50Speaker 2: the pupil or else, like the machine freaks out, Isaac
- 49:54Speaker 2: freaks out and it obliterates his eye and he dies horribly.
- 50:00Speaker 2: So you just take your time, move really slowly, wait
- 50:04Speaker 2: until that moment when both the the spike and his
- 50:09Speaker 2: eye are perfectly aligned, and then doup and you're done.
- 50:15Speaker 2: And I just remember being like horrified by that. But
- 50:18Speaker 2: it has been since trumped by tormented souls, which I
- 50:22Speaker 2: talked about at the beginning, and I just played this
- 50:24Speaker 2: earlier this week. So your character is a girl named
- 50:28Speaker 2: Caroline Walker. She gets a letter, you know, saying why
- 50:31Speaker 2: did you leave us here? She doesn't know what they're
- 50:33Speaker 2: talking about, but it's a pair of girls. She goes
- 50:36Speaker 2: to this quote unquote abandoned hospital and she gets knocked
- 50:40Speaker 2: out as soon as she arrives. When she wakes up,
- 50:43Speaker 2: she's in a tub, naked. She has a ventilator in
- 50:47Speaker 2: her throat and an eye patch. She pulls the VENTI
- 50:50Speaker 2: later out. She gets out of the tub, she dries
- 50:52Speaker 2: off and puts on clothes. She goes to the mirror
- 50:54Speaker 2: and pulls up the eye patch and her eye is missing.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Oh great, She freaks out, somebody took my eye. Somebody
- 51:00Speaker 2: took my eye. So as the game progresses, you find
- 51:04Speaker 2: out that she is one of a set of twins
- 51:07Speaker 2: and she got separated from her family and was rescued
- 51:12Speaker 2: and fostered somewhere else and given a new identity. She
- 51:15Speaker 2: didn't remember any of this, So when she comes back
- 51:19Speaker 2: and finds out she has a twin sister, she's like, Okay,
- 51:22Speaker 2: I got a saver. It's a save her. I need
- 51:23Speaker 2: to get in this vault. However, this vault has two
- 51:27Speaker 2: retinal scanners that need to be activated at the exact
- 51:29Speaker 2: same time, and her twin sister has already, in fear
- 51:35Speaker 2: of this very thing happening, ripped her own eyes out
- 51:39Speaker 2: and destroyed them. Ok So Caroline has to get in
- 51:44Speaker 2: the vault to save her sister. There's a couple of
- 51:48Speaker 2: sequences in the game where you can activate a VCR projector,
- 51:53Speaker 2: and she's got this power where she can literally walk
- 51:56Speaker 2: into the projector and it goes back in time. So
- 51:59Speaker 2: she goes back to herself in the tub and cuts
- 52:04Speaker 2: out her own eye.
- 52:06Speaker 1: She's the one who did it, and she.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Hangs it to make it worse. She hangs it on
- 52:12Speaker 2: a fish hook and puts it in front of the
- 52:15Speaker 2: retinal scanner and then stands in front of the other
- 52:17Speaker 2: one to get into the Let me tell you, I
- 52:21Speaker 2: did not see that coming, not for a second.
- 52:26Speaker 1: I did either anymore.
- 52:34Speaker 2: I was just when I walked up to her body
- 52:39Speaker 2: in the tub. I'm like, great, I can pick up
- 52:41Speaker 2: my own body, take it down to the scanner and
- 52:44Speaker 2: prop her up. And then you see other one.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Her back.
- 52:49Speaker 2: That wasn't an option. Couldn't do that. And I had
- 52:53Speaker 2: a scalpel in my inventory.
- 52:57Speaker 1: That's fucked up.
- 52:58Speaker 2: I literally went no.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Like, why can't I? I can't. I just pick her up,
- 53:02Speaker 1: she's right there.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I I picked the scalpel and I put it on
- 53:08Speaker 2: her body and it turned green, indicating you could use it,
- 53:11Speaker 2: and I did, and a cutscene started and I just
- 53:15Speaker 2: put my head in my hands and I was like,
- 53:16Speaker 2: I'm not watching this. I'm not watching this. I can't.
- 53:19Speaker 2: I can't, I can't. I can't watch it. Literally, that
- 53:22Speaker 2: moment when I realized, oh no, they expect me to
- 53:26Speaker 2: cut out my own eye, was like, oh.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Give me that needle thing instead.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I would have much rather honestly. Thankfully, thankfully the
- 53:39Speaker 2: game doesn't make you perform the actual search. Yeah, but
- 53:44Speaker 2: instead you have to watch it, and I couldn't. I
- 53:46Speaker 2: literally I turned away from the screen. I just did
- 53:49Speaker 2: not look. I'm like, nope, not happening.
- 53:51Speaker 1: But you had the ability to turn your head. At least,
- 53:53Speaker 1: that's good.
- 53:54Speaker 2: That moment froze my But interestingly enough, that game does
- 53:58Speaker 2: contain another child quote abuse slash horror thing.
- 54:03Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 54:05Speaker 2: Yeah, literally the whole thing hinges on this ancient tribe
- 54:09Speaker 2: that apparently twins were connected to demonic energy, so whenever
- 54:14Speaker 2: twins were born, when they reached the age of ten
- 54:17Speaker 2: years old, they would both be sacrificed, just outright killed.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:23Speaker 2: I got for a demonic.
- 54:31Speaker 5: Anyway.
- 54:32Speaker 2: Okay, so I've had plenty of time now to think
- 54:34Speaker 2: about it, and honestly, oh man, I mean seeing the
- 54:41Speaker 2: kid with the crotch that would have fucked me up guaranteed,
- 54:45Speaker 2: like that would have that would have fuck me guaranteed,
- 54:49Speaker 2: and it did.
- 54:51Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie.
- 54:51Speaker 1: It fucked me up. I think about it until like
- 54:54Speaker 1: this came up, and I'm like, oh fuck, no juice,
- 54:58Speaker 1: I oh god, Oh, I haven't thought about that forever.
- 55:02Speaker 1: That's thanks Eric, Scar.
- 55:06Speaker 2: I apologize for ripping that wound open.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Not much of a wound so much as just like.
- 55:12Speaker 1: A geping hole. I'm glad I have therapy on Monday. Jesus.
- 55:21Speaker 2: I thank you both for this, and I apologize. I
- 55:25Speaker 2: am gonna go with Stevie on this one the kids
- 55:30Speaker 2: getting massacred off screen. Yeah, but I think just the
- 55:34Speaker 2: fact that it's off screen would have made it a
- 55:37Speaker 2: little easier for me to deal with. Yes, the imagination
- 55:40Speaker 2: is worse generally, but I also think it would have
- 55:44Speaker 2: been a little bit easier for me. You both did
- 55:46Speaker 2: a great job. You both picked something, but in terms
- 55:49Speaker 2: of something that actually froze my blood while you were
- 55:52Speaker 2: describing it, Stevie's wentz. Stevee's wentz. I literally as I said,
- 55:58Speaker 2: I clenched. I clenched, and I'm only now releasing said clench.
- 56:04Speaker 2: It is two points to Stevie. He currently has the lead,
- 56:08Speaker 2: but we're gonna find out what happens. We're gonna play
- 56:10Speaker 2: game three, which will hopefully be a little less traumatizing,
- 56:14Speaker 2: as it's worth three blood curdling points. We're gonna play
- 56:19Speaker 2: that game right after this.
- 56:29Speaker 11: If you're into recreational cannabis and are in Louis in
- 56:32Speaker 11: New York near the Suscarora Native Reservation, check out weed Stock.
- 56:37Speaker 11: These guys have the prime herb. On top of that,
- 56:41Speaker 11: they have concentrates, vapes, edibles, practically anything you want. So
- 56:44Speaker 11: go hit up weed Stock and lose to New York.
- 56:47Speaker 11: Tell them be a ly tw sent.
- 56:49Speaker 5: You, hey man, welcome back.
- 57:00Speaker 2: It's time for game three. Game three is the cost
- 57:02Speaker 2: is correct? One of our favorite games. I've got three
- 57:09Speaker 2: items here that have recently gone on auction, and all
- 57:13Speaker 2: our players have to do is bit as close as
- 57:14Speaker 2: they possibly can to the final auction price without going
- 57:17Speaker 2: over in order to claim that listing. The first player
- 57:20Speaker 2: to get two listings wins the game and earns three
- 57:23Speaker 2: episode points. Now, unlike a certain game that we could
- 57:27Speaker 2: mention or that Augie is using for his background, Okay,
- 57:33Speaker 2: that's fair, there is they have to never mind.
- 57:38Speaker 9: So I genuinely believe it.
- 57:45Speaker 1: We have it.
- 57:46Speaker 3: It's fun, it's good time.
- 57:48Speaker 2: So it's because there's only into two of you. We
- 57:51Speaker 2: are going to play final bids rules, So you keep
- 57:53Speaker 2: going back and forth, bidding higher and higher and higher.
- 57:56Speaker 2: You must bid higher than the previous bid unless it's
- 57:59Speaker 2: your first bid. Then you can bid whatever you want.
- 58:03Speaker 2: And at some point when someone either gets close enough
- 58:09Speaker 2: to the actual auction price that I feel the next
- 58:12Speaker 2: bid will go over or the first person to go over,
- 58:16Speaker 2: I will call for final bids, at which point the
- 58:20Speaker 2: players get to make one final bid.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Again.
- 58:23Speaker 2: They must be higher than the previous bid, or they
- 58:25Speaker 2: can stay at their previous bid. It's up to them.
- 58:29Speaker 2: And yeah, let's get started, shall we?
- 58:31Speaker 8: Yes?
- 58:32Speaker 2: To no surprise, The first itema for bids is this
- 58:35Speaker 2: mint condition and graded horror game. This original release black
- 58:41Speaker 2: label copy of the Nintendo GameCube remaster of Resident Evil
- 58:47Speaker 2: is sealed and graded ninety out of one hundred by VGA.
- 58:53Speaker 2: And this listing can be yours if the cost is correct. Allgue,
- 58:58Speaker 2: you lost last game, You get to bid first.
- 59:00Speaker 3: I'll go first, one thousand dollars, one thousand dollars with
- 59:08Speaker 3: a pinky at the side of his mouth.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Stevieh, We'll go fourteen hundred.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Bob, fourteen hundred, Augie.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Nineteen hundred, nineteen hundred Stevie.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Wow, twenty two hundred.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Twenty two hundred August she is twenty seven twenty seven hundred, Stevie.
- 59:29Speaker 1: This is a good game. It says the black one, right, Wow.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it is the black label, not the yellow. Greatest fuck, Okay.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Thirty five hundred.
- 59:39Speaker 12: Thirty five hundred, Augy that's thirty seven hundred, thirty seven
- 59:47Speaker 12: hundred Steevie thirty nine hundred thirty nine hundred.
- 59:50Speaker 3: Augie Wow, forty five hundred.
- 59:54Speaker 2: Forty five hundred, Stevie.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Jesus five thousand dollars.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Five thousand dollars. I will call for final bid.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Let's win this one. Maybe, what's all you gonna do?
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Fifty one fifty fifty one fifty Stevie, you wore if
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: you stay. Your previous bid is five thousand, so it
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: must be between five thousand and fifty one fifty.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Oh, I can go higher than him, right.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: You can go higher than him, but I warn you
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: if you both go over, I will make you rebid.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna be a whore. Two fifty one fifty five bitch.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Ooh, fifty one fifty five. Well, the actual final auction
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: price five thousand, six hundred and fifty dollars. Stevie wins,
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: being a yeah, bitched it out well. Stevie claims the
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: first item, but only through bitch hood. So Aggie, you
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: need both of these.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Apparently the bitch is right?
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh. Next up forbids is Surprise Surprise, this mint
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: condition and graded horror game. This rare sealed Japanese copy
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: of the Sega CD game Night Trap was graded at
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: a nine point eight out of ten, and this listing
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: goes to the one of you who bids closest to
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: the final auction price without going over. Stevie, you start
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: this time.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I start, and you said, this is the Japanese version.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Okay, so they're selling an American eBay. I'm gonna say,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: two thousand dollars, okay, one million?
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Shit, Now I got to look up what that is.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: That was your STV two thousand.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Two thousand, two thousand dollars. Yeah, twenty seven thanks.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Twenty seven hundred Stevie.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: All right, we're jumping this up there. We're gonna know
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: four thousand.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Dollars, four thousand dollars on thousand dollars.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: This is what super rare. He said, Sorry, WARTONEYN one
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: fifty three hundred.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Fifty three hundred dollars, Stevie.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Six thousand dollars.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Six thousand dollars.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: Augie, fuck uh sixty six sixty six sixty six.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Hundred, sixty six hundred. I will continue.

- 1:02:50Speaker 1: sixty nine hundred, Aggie, God.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Damn us seventy three hundred.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Seventy three hundred. I will call Dominos for pizza later, Steven, Wow,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: this is a lot.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: At nine thousand dollars.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Nine thousand dollars, I will call for final bits.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: That's fair, Okay, I'm gonna go.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Okay, you're choosing to stay. Yeah, okay, Stevie, I mean
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: you pretty much have I mean you can overpitch yourself
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: if you want.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: I think I think it would be wise to stop
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: for a man of nine thousand.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, confident Stevie stops. Actual final auction price ten
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: thousand dollars. Stevie wins. Wow, this time not through bitch hood.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: If you'd let me talk, Augie, I was gonna say,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: if you go over, go over him by a significant amount,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: so that he'll have to think about whether to bitch
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: over or day where he is. That seems to be
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: the only winning strategy if you are the first one
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: with the final bids. Yeah, you of course are taking
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: the risk that you're gonna go over yourself. But if
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: you only take a tiny step, he's always gonna do
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: that dink on top of you.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: So, by the way, event, it would have been one
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: point six million yen.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Oh snap, oh, so you would have way over yeah, okay,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: our final auction. We're just doing this for fun. Up

- 1:04:35Speaker 2: horror game Halloween for the Atari twenty six hundred.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Reportedly the first game to allow killing of children, also
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: the first game to feature decapitation. This is reportedly the
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: highest graded copy in existence, with a nine point two
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: out of ten, and it's signed by three actors who
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: have played Michael Myers, including Nick Castle. Holy And This

- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Stevie, twenty seven thousand.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Twenty seven thousand. You are both over. Oh. I need

- 1:05:55Speaker 2: must be below twenty six thousand.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Lock Aggie starts with you twenty five thousand.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Stevie twenty five to fifty.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Twenty five thousand and fifty. Yeah, the actual retail price

- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Five thousand dollars.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: My god, that's awesome. Holy shit.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: As awesome as it is, it doesn't matter. Stevie won
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: the other two. He wins the game and gets three
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: episode points. Yeah, I did a thing, wins the episode
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: five points to one. Plause.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and I won nothing.
