Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:02
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
where we left off with the Pam Bondi Congressional interview. Bondie,
• 0:11
and to clarify, that was twenty nineteen and I was
• 0:14
not the Attorney general at the time. Question Yeah, and
• 0:17
when that's the case, just feel free to clarify for me.
• 0:20
Thank you. I'd like to ask some questions about President Trump.
• 0:23
What's your understanding of the extent to which President Trump
• 0:27
was aware of mister Epstein and miss Maxwell's crimes prior
• 0:30
to those crimes becoming public Dylan, you can certainly answer
• 0:34
if you have any knowledge of that, Bondie. Can you
• 0:37
ask that again? Question? Of course, what's your understanding of
• 0:41
the extent to which President Trump was aware of mister
• 0:44
Epstein or miss Maxwell's crimes prior to the crimes being
• 0:47
public knowledge? Answer? I don't know. Question during your tenure? Bondi, wait,
• 0:53
can you repeat that again? Question? Yeah, I can phrase
• 0:56
it again, absolutely. I just want to make sure it's
• 0:59
clear for both of us. Answer, because you're talking about
• 1:01
Glenn Maxwell too, Answer yeah, And I can split them
• 1:05
up and do the one out of a time if
• 1:07
you want answer no, go ahead. Question what's your understanding
• 1:11
of the extent to which President Trump was aware of
• 1:13
Jeffrey Epstein, Orglahn Maxwell's crimes prior to the crimes becoming public.
• 1:18
Answer I'm not certain of the extent to his knowledge.
• 1:22
Question Okay, during your tenure, did President Trump direct you
• 1:26
or any of your subordinates to take official action related
• 1:28
to Jeffrey Epstein, Orglain Maxwell. Answer, I'm not going to
• 1:33
discuss any conversations that I've had with the President of
• 1:36
the United States. Question it would be helpful for us
• 1:39
to just understand whether that's just a refusal to discuss
• 1:43
full stop, or whether that's an invocation of some version
• 1:46
of executive privilege. Answer privilege question, and can you or
• 1:51
your counsel elaborate a little bit on the nature and
• 1:54
the privilege of the record, Dylan, We're not going to
• 1:57
get into any conversation that the former Attorney General had
• 2:00
with other senior members of the executive members of the
• 2:03
White House and the immediate staff of the President that's
• 2:06
covered by privilege. Mister Ginn. I'll also add, we don't
• 2:10
even need to formally assert the privilege in this context.
• 2:13
Given the voluntary nature of these proceedings, So we're just
• 2:16
going to refuse to provide answers about conversations with the
• 2:20
president or as advisors. Oh I bet you are. Are
• 2:23
you guys catching on yet? Redacted? Thank you? And as
• 2:29
I think you just said, those are two different concepts.
• 2:32
So just for clarity one more time, is this just
• 2:35
a voluntary refusal to answer or a formal assertion of
• 2:39
executive privilege? Dylan, This is a voluntary interview. An assertion
• 2:43
of privilege is not legally required. And so just telling
• 2:46
you what's out of bounds, you're not going to get
• 2:49
answers on those issues. Why is BONDI even here enough
• 2:53
with a bullshit and all the people out here that
• 2:55
are still beating the drum for Trump, wake the fuck up,
• 2:59
Wake up all redacted? It's just a choice not to
• 3:03
answer that question, correct, Dylan. I'm not testifying here, so
• 3:07
i'd say, redacted, I think you can go ahead and
• 3:09
ask your next question question. Well, just to clarify with
• 3:13
the witness, thank you. That's a great point, redacted. Question,
• 3:18
that's just a choice the witness part not simply to
• 3:20
answer the question in the category you described, which is
• 3:23
conversations with the President or as close advisors. Is that correct? Answer? And,
• 3:28
as I've said in the past on multiple range of topics. Question,
• 3:32
but is that the case here today? Answer? Yes question, Yes, Sorry,
• 3:37
I just need that last yes answer, yes question, thank you?
• 3:42
To your knowledge? Has the DJ released all Jeffrey Epstein
• 3:46
related files and documents that relate to President Trump? Answer
• 3:50
to my knowledge? Yes question. It was reported by The
• 3:53
Wall Street Journal that in September of last year, President
• 3:57
Trump told Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green that if she tried
• 4:01
to expose the names of Epstein's abusers that quote, my
• 4:04
friends will get hurt. Were you present for that conversation?
• 4:08
Answer not to my knowledge question? Were you aware of
• 4:12
that comment being made? Answer not to my knowledge question?
• 4:16
Do you have any knowledge of which friends President Trump
• 4:19
was referring to? Answer not to my knowledge question. Did
• 4:23
President Trump ever tell you that he had friends who
• 4:25
could be exposed as abusers by the Epstein files? Answer?
• 4:29
I'm not going to discuss any conversation that I've had
• 4:32
with the President on this matter. Question. There may be
• 4:35
a time I'll try to minimize it, but there may
• 4:38
be times where it's appropriate for you to say that
• 4:40
again for the record, and I appreciate your patience. I'd
• 4:44
like to discuss some chronological events, starting with President Trump's
• 4:48
twenty twenty four campaign. During that campaign, then candidate Trump
• 4:52
promised to release the Epstein files. Did you speak with
• 4:55
then candidate Trump or any of his advisers about Jeffrey
• 4:59
Epstein or Glenn Mack during the twenty twenty four presidential campaign? Answer?
• 5:04
Not to my knowledge, but again, he wasn't the president.
• 5:07
Dylan jumps in, it's beyond the scope of the interview, Bondi,
• 5:12
And yeah, it's beyond the scope questions, so it's helpful
• 5:16
for us. Does that boundary extend beyond President Trump's time
• 5:19
in office? Answer right question, Yes, Dylan, I don't understand
• 5:24
your question redacted. I already do. My question. Then it's
• 5:28
whether during the twenty twenty four presidential campaign, whether you,
• 5:32
miss Bondy had any conversations with then candidate Trump or
• 5:35
as advisors about Jeffrey Epstein, orgle Ann Maxwell, Dylan, And
• 5:40
to repeat this, witness is here voluntarily to talk about
• 5:43
our time as attorney general. And that's an overarching limitation,
• 5:47
so that we cannot be here all day. And those
• 5:50
are the ground rules that we agreed on when we
• 5:52
came here, So that's our limitation. Your question goes beyond that.
• 5:55
I'm just noting that for the witness, this is why
• 5:57
they shouldn't be voluntary. This is all a big ass
• 6:02
joke and the whole entire circus is being led by
• 6:06
James Calmer at the direction of Donnie Diddle's redacted. Just
• 6:12
to be clear for the record, we never agreed to
• 6:14
that or were informed of that, Dylan. Fine question, And separately,
• 6:18
it would be helpful for me to understand with the
• 6:20
question relating to candidate Trump, is that still part of
• 6:24
the previously described concern of not discussing conversations with Donald
• 6:28
Trump or President Trump? In other words, is it no
• 6:31
conversations with him at any time, whether or not he
• 6:34
was in office? Dylan. This is a separate limitation regarding
• 6:39
the temporal limitation redacted, which has previously been articulated to you.
• 6:45
Her testimony here today is limited to what she said
• 6:48
or did during her time as the Attorney general, Dylan,
• 6:53
and that's the basis on which we're here today. Question.
• 6:56
We blew through that one on the twenty nineteen email,
• 6:59
But it sounds like maybe it's a separate limitation on
• 7:02
conversations with I mean, you tell me. It's just helpful
• 7:05
for us and for the record to understand where that
• 7:08
limitation is. Dylan. Yeah, this is a voluntary interview. The
• 7:13
fact that she answered a question is not relevant to
• 7:15
the overall limitation. And we're going to be here all
• 7:17
day if there are no limits, So that's a limit. Redacted. Definitely.
• 7:22
This will go so much quicker if there's clarity in
• 7:24
describing what the limits are. So let me just do
• 7:27
the question again. Dylan cuts her off. Redacted. You seem
• 7:31
determined to eat up all your time on repeating yourself.
• 7:33
That's your choice, but she's going to stick to the
• 7:36
limits that have been articulated. I really dislike to meet Dylan,
• 7:42
you know, the lady that wasn't qualified for the office
• 7:44
that she was given. Yeah her redacted. That's great, But
• 7:48
we can't walk out of here confused about what the
• 7:51
limits are. So let me just repeat this one question.
• 7:54
And if the limit is no conversation with President Trump
• 7:58
in her out of office, then that's limit. And as
• 8:01
you said, it's a voluntary conversation. We just needed on
• 8:04
the record. So when President Trump was a candidate during
• 8:07
the twenty twenty four presidential campaign. Did you have any
• 8:10
discussion with them or as close advisors about Jeffrey Epstein
• 8:13
or Glenn Maxwell Dylan. It's beyond the scope, BONDI jumps in,
• 8:18
it's beyond the scope. I was subpoened as attorney general
• 8:21
or asked to come in as attorney general. Question, sorry,
• 8:24
just a little closer to the microphone answer. Beyond the
• 8:27
scope question? Okay, in what sense? I don't want to
• 8:30
lose all day on it. But in what sense do
• 8:32
you view it as a witness as beyond the scope question?
• 8:36
I was not attorney general at the time. Question, Okay,
• 8:39
you were sworn in as Attorney general on February fifth
• 8:42
of last year. When was your first conversation with President
• 8:46
Trump about the Epstein investigation. Answer? I don't discuss any conversations,
• 8:52
whether I've had them or not had them with the
• 8:55
President of the United States. Question with respect to the
• 8:58
February twenty first comment about the DOJ maybe releasing the
• 9:02
list of Jeffrey Epstein's clients. Sit on my desk. We
• 9:05
heard the discussion in the previous round, and we've heard
• 9:07
a discussion of this previously, and just for the very
• 9:10
last piece of clarity, to your knowledge, is the Department
• 9:13
of Justice currently withholding a document that lists Jeffrey Epstein's
• 9:16
clients Bondie Answer to my knowledge, no question. With respect
• 9:21
to the February twenty seventh meeting, what was discussed in
• 9:24
the previous round that grouping of files, to the best
• 9:27
of our understanding, was most already public at the time.
• 9:31
Do you recall whether at that time you knew whether
• 9:34
these files were already public or not public? Answer no question. No,
• 9:39
you don't recall. Answered, don't recall. Don't believe I knew
• 9:42
they were public at the time. Question. Our understanding is
• 9:45
that none of the files were classified in the legal
• 9:47
sense of the word. Do you recall why the word
• 9:51
to classified was stamped on top? I don't recall if
• 9:53
they were or weren't. Question. You may have said this already,
• 9:57
But were these materials of the same files that you
• 10:00
had said that we're sitting on your desk a few
• 10:02
days earlier? Are those the same packet of files? Answer? Yes. Question.
• 10:08
The Wall Street Journal has reported that you told President
• 10:10
Trump last May that he was in the Epstein files
• 10:13
and that the Department did not plan to release any
• 10:16
more Epstein files. Deputy Attorney General Blanche was also reportedly
• 10:20
in that meeting. What did President Trump say when you
• 10:23
told him he was in the files? Answer? I won't
• 10:26
discuss any conversation that I did or didn't have with
• 10:29
the President of the United States. Question. I'll note, just
• 10:32
for the transcript purpose that I think the Department of
• 10:35
Justice publicly confirmed the nature and the scope of that meeting,
• 10:38
So that would seem to us like something that's reasonable
• 10:41
to discuss in this forum. But I understand your position,
• 10:44
and I'll move forward. With respect to the July twenty
• 10:47
twenty five memo that I think the majority handed out
• 10:50
in the previous round, I think I heard, but I
• 10:53
just want to confirm that mister Blanche was managing the
• 10:55
process for putting together the memo. Is that correct? Answer?
• 10:59
Which memo? Question? The July twenty fifth FBI DOJ No
• 11:04
further disclosures are warranted? Answer. I don't recall who is
• 11:08
managing that, because I don't think it's signed. It was
• 11:11
just looking at that. I don't recall who managed that,
• 11:14
but ag Blanche was managing the entire investigation. Question. Okay,
• 11:18
the memo stated quote, we did not uncover evidence that
• 11:22
could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties. I think
• 11:26
a lot of folks now, having seen the files, are
• 11:29
having trouble accepting that claim. Would you tend to I
• 11:32
can just read it, It's just the one sentence. I
• 11:35
can read it back. If that's helpful. Answer, go ahead. Question.
• 11:39
It was just the quote, we did not uncover evidence
• 11:42
that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties. So
• 11:46
I think a lot of folks now haven't seen the
• 11:48
releases struggle with that logic of that claim. Do you
• 11:52
tend to agree with that statement as you sit here today? Answer?
• 11:55
What was the date of the memo? Question? I think
• 11:57
it was July seventh when it was released, although I
• 12:00
don't think it has a date on it. Answer. I
• 12:02
would refer any of that to ag blanche. Mister Quinn redacted.
• 12:07
Can I just clarify to your question? Are you referring
• 12:10
to the public's perception of that sentence at that very
• 12:14
limited number of files the Department was aware of at
• 12:16
this the time this letter was drafted, or later after
• 12:20
many more documents were reviewed. Question the latter, which I
• 12:24
think and hope it was clear in the question. Quinn Okay,
• 12:28
I don't think it was clear, So in that case,
• 12:30
it's helpful question I can do a lead in. I
• 12:33
think folks who have now seen the release of the
• 12:35
Epstein files struggle with that claim looking back on it
• 12:39
last July. Do you have a view on that statement
• 12:42
sitting here today? Answer? As ag Blanche has said multiple times,
• 12:46
I believe Director Patel has multiple times, and I would agree,
• 12:50
if there is any evidence of a crime, they would
• 12:52
ask now that people contact the FBI so anything can
• 12:55
be fully investigated. Also, as I've stated earlier, I believe
• 12:59
US Attorney Clayton had an investigation in the Southern District
• 13:02
of New York, and I don't know the current status
• 13:05
of that as well. Question. Thank you. All right, We're
• 13:08
gonna wrap up right here, and in the next episode
• 13:10
dealing with the topic, we're gonna pick up where we
• 13:12
left off. All the information that goes with this episode
• 13:15
can be found in the description box.
