Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / The DiCecco Daily: "Massive" Cam Jurgens Trade Creates Major Change For Eagles
Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on, everybody? Welcome into another episode of
- 0:12Speaker 1: DiCecco Daily. It's Andrew DiCecco, Eagles beat reporter for InsideTheBirds.com.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Massive news on a Wednesday for the Eagles as, and
- 0:22Speaker 1: this comes on the heels of Lane Johnson's announcement of
- 0:25Speaker 1: his retirement. On Wednesday afternoon, the Eagles trade center left
- 0:30Speaker 1: guard Cam Juergens in a 20-27 seventh round pick. to
- 0:35Speaker 1: the Baltimore Ravens for a 2027 fifth round pick and
- 0:38Speaker 1: a 2028 second round pick. And to outline, in 2028,
- 0:43Speaker 1: the Eagles now have two first round picks and two
- 0:46Speaker 1: second round picks. On the surface, it may strike you
- 0:49Speaker 1: as a little curious that the Eagles would be willing
- 0:51Speaker 1: to part with a player at a position that they're
- 0:55Speaker 1: pretty thin in But let's not forget what Howie Roseman
- 0:58Speaker 1: said back on August 31st, where if you were to
- 1:01Speaker 1: shoot him with truth serum going into training camp, he
- 1:04Speaker 1: was really curious to learn about this reserve group of
- 1:08Speaker 1: offensive linemen. They were young and inexperienced, and he ended
- 1:11Speaker 1: up coming away really impressed. He was really excited about
- 1:14Speaker 1: the group, and he really conveyed that point when he
- 1:18Speaker 1: spoke during cutdowns. So that right there should tell you
- 1:22Speaker 1: how the Eagles feel about their options internally, and we'll
- 1:25Speaker 1: get to all of that. But Cam Juergens, and I
- 1:28Speaker 1: want to say this now because I know that recency
- 1:32Speaker 1: bias is going to maybe alter the perception of what
- 1:37Speaker 1: he accomplished here during his time with the Eagles. As
- 1:41Speaker 1: a 2022 second round pick, I mean, that was a
- 1:45Speaker 1: really strong pick for the Eagles. Think about it. He
- 1:48Speaker 1: gave them some quality years. He played right guard in 2023,
- 1:52Speaker 1: but he really settled in as a center and was
- 1:54Speaker 1: dominant in 2024. This is a two-time Pro Bowl player,
- 1:58Speaker 1: and in 2024, he made the ultimate sacrifice. He valiantly
- 2:04Speaker 1: battled through a back injury through the Eagles' postseason run,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and along with Landon Dickerson, who battled through an injury
- 2:12Speaker 1: as well, That Super Bowl run probably doesn't happen without
- 2:18Speaker 1: the dominance that they were showcasing up front. And I
- 2:21Speaker 1: can pinpoint a ton of Saquon Barkley highlight reel runs
- 2:26Speaker 1: en route to Super Bowl 59. And so when you
- 2:30Speaker 1: think about Cam Juergens, and I know public perception is
- 2:34Speaker 1: a little bit skewed right now, he should be remembered
- 2:38Speaker 1: for what he did and laying his body on the
- 2:41Speaker 1: line for All for the chance to go to, and
- 2:45Speaker 1: then the Eagles, of course, won that Super Bowl. Now,
- 2:49Speaker 1: let's outline things here, because after the 2024 season, he
- 2:53Speaker 1: had back surgery in February. And that takes quite a
- 2:57Speaker 1: bit of time to recover from, to bounce back. You're
- 3:01Speaker 1: not typically yourself the following season, and clearly he wasn't.
- 3:05Speaker 1: He didn't play well. at full strength in 2025. That
- 3:08Speaker 1: was very apparent watching him. And then in the 2026 offseason,
- 3:13Speaker 1: he goes to Columbia. He goes to Medellin to get
- 3:15Speaker 1: stem cell treatment. And I don't think that that should
- 3:18Speaker 1: be viewed as a negative. It should be viewed as
- 3:20Speaker 1: a positive that he was exploring every avenue to ensure
- 3:25Speaker 1: that he was doing everything that he could to return
- 3:29Speaker 1: as healthy as possible in 2026. And then in training camp,
- 3:34Speaker 1: For my perspective, I thought that he performed well. He
- 3:40Speaker 1: was available. He was moving around better. It's always difficult
- 3:44Speaker 1: to gauge the effectiveness of an offensive lineman, I think,
- 3:49Speaker 1: in training camp. It's really when you get into the
- 3:52Speaker 1: regular season. What I was basing it off of, does
- 3:54Speaker 1: he look healthy? Yes. Is he moving around well? Yes.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Does this system fit his skill set in theory? It does.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Or it did. But he'd get into the regular season
- 4:07Speaker 1: and he struggled. I'm not going to try and sit
- 4:10Speaker 1: here and sell you on the fact that he played
- 4:12Speaker 1: well because he didn't. Certainly not to his standard. The
- 4:15Speaker 1: standard that we've seen just a couple of seasons ago.
- 4:20Speaker 1: And after week one, he was inserted at left guard
- 4:25Speaker 1: after Landon Dickerson went on injured reserve. And he looked
- 4:29Speaker 1: like a player that was... not a left guard that
- 4:32Speaker 1: was really learning that position on the fly. I think
- 4:34Speaker 1: he deserves credit for being willing to make that move.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And there were obvious growing pains there. But I don't
- 4:42Speaker 1: necessarily know that you can pinpoint all of the leakiness,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I guess you could say, from the offensive line on
- 4:51Speaker 1: Cam Juergens. I know it seems like, or what I've
- 4:54Speaker 1: observed is many like to highlight a player on offense
- 5:00Speaker 1: or a player on defense and really harp on that,
- 5:02Speaker 1: really drive that point home when things aren't going well.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But the reality of the situation is it's a collaborative effort.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's not coach speak. It's not me trying to tell
- 5:11Speaker 1: you this. So you feel differently about Cam Juergens. You
- 5:15Speaker 1: feel however you want to, I'm trying to provide a
- 5:18Speaker 1: different perspective. And I think it's going to get lost
- 5:22Speaker 1: in it. The, the, the way that he battled that,
- 5:25Speaker 1: that season. And I, his role in Saquon Barkley's historic season.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, he didn't play well this year through,
- 5:36Speaker 1: through four games and he right now is in concussion protocol.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Remember he self-reported those symptoms on Monday and he's in
- 5:44Speaker 1: the protocol right now. So it probably leaves his status
- 5:47Speaker 1: for Sunday in doubt when the Baltimore Ravens go to
- 5:50Speaker 1: Atlanta to play. But I look at this and I,
- 5:54Speaker 1: From an Eagles perspective, the value there was tremendous for
- 5:57Speaker 1: the trade. You're getting a second round pick back for
- 6:00Speaker 1: a player that has battled a ton of injuries. He
- 6:05Speaker 1: hasn't looked particularly strong this year in terms of his performance.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And you always have to look at the long term
- 6:13Speaker 1: projection of what that player is going to be and
- 6:16Speaker 1: how they can help you. And regardless of all that,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it gives you an ability to maneuver. It gives you
- 6:22Speaker 1: some flexibility. Let's not forget, the Eagles have a lot
- 6:26Speaker 1: of marquee players on the defensive side that are going
- 6:29Speaker 1: to have to be paid. You can't pay everybody, but
- 6:32Speaker 1: this makes it a little bit... You're a little bit
- 6:35Speaker 1: more flexible in what you can do. And you can't
- 6:38Speaker 1: just operate in the here and now. And that's something
- 6:40Speaker 1: that the Eagles never do. You also have to look
- 6:43Speaker 1: at the future to give yourself a... sort of a
- 6:48Speaker 1: lengthier chance at success. And when you look at that
- 6:53Speaker 1: 2028 sort of draft hall that they have, I mean, that's,
- 6:57Speaker 1: that's a, that's a strong place to start and it
- 7:00Speaker 1: gives you a chance to continue to build out the
- 7:03Speaker 1: roster and maybe add some cornerstones. But, I really do
- 7:07Speaker 1: believe that you take everything into account here, and there's
- 7:11Speaker 1: a lot of positives for this. I think the Eagles
- 7:13Speaker 1: should be commended for it, for making this trade. I
- 7:17Speaker 1: think on the surface, I mean, it was a home
- 7:20Speaker 1: run for Philadelphia. The Baltimore Ravens clearly needed a center,
- 7:24Speaker 1: and Cam Juergens is still young, and maybe he fits
- 7:27Speaker 1: what they're doing a little bit better. Who knows? But, yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I mean, when I look at that, I think the
- 7:32Speaker 1: Eagles really– they won that trade, but I also think
- 7:35Speaker 1: the Ravens got a player that maybe not this week,
- 7:39Speaker 1: but for the, the, you know, the rest of the
- 7:42Speaker 1: season can really help them by stepping in and getting
- 7:47Speaker 1: him back to his natural position as a center. He's
- 7:49Speaker 1: not a guard. He's a center. And he was playing
- 7:52Speaker 1: out of position, which, which certainly didn't help him here
- 7:54Speaker 1: in Philadelphia. You can also make the case that he
- 7:57Speaker 1: wasn't playing particularly. He wasn't giving you high level performance
- 8:02Speaker 1: at center and, I might quibble at that a little
- 8:07Speaker 1: bit because I don't profess to be a film aficionado,
- 8:12Speaker 1: which is why I ask questions. I can watch it,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I can break it down, but until I'm 100% certain
- 8:18Speaker 1: about what a player's responsibility is or what they're being
- 8:22Speaker 1: taught or were they expecting help, all that needs to
- 8:26Speaker 1: be taken into account. To the untrained eye, it looks
- 8:31Speaker 1: like Cam was responsible for a lot of lapses there
- 8:36Speaker 1: in protection. But in reality, that's not always the case,
- 8:39Speaker 1: which is why I like to ask questions. And I
- 8:41Speaker 1: think in today's social media world, when you see these
- 8:45Speaker 1: still shots or a six-second clip, it doesn't tell the
- 8:50Speaker 1: full story. Yeah, any player, you can catch any player
- 8:54Speaker 1: having a blunder there in any still shot or a
- 8:57Speaker 1: random clip. But does that tell the whole story? Is
- 9:01Speaker 1: that really... being fair and giving an accurate assessment of
- 9:06Speaker 1: that player. Now, again, I'm not going to sit here
- 9:08Speaker 1: and tell you that Cam Juergens was lighting the world
- 9:11Speaker 1: on fire because that just wasn't the case. But I
- 9:14Speaker 1: am just trying to paint a picture and maybe offer
- 9:18Speaker 1: a different perspective here.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Hey, have you ever had an issue with like your
- 9:23Speaker 2: hot water heater bursting? I've had that happen at least
- 9:26Speaker 2: three times in my basement, causing flooding, causing me to
- 9:30Speaker 2: miss work. causing me to deal with people in my
- 9:33Speaker 2: house trying to tell me how much I'm going to
- 9:34Speaker 2: have to pay.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Then I have to replace the appliance.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Then I got to do research on what the best
- 9:39Speaker 2: appliance is to replace with.
- 9:41Speaker 3: It is madness and can be very, very frustrating.

- 12:21Speaker 1: But Cam Juergens gave the Eagles some quality seasons. He
- 12:24Speaker 1: should be remembered as someone who was a warrior in
- 12:27Speaker 1: the sense of what he played through to help the
- 12:31Speaker 1: Eagles attain their second Super Bowl. But now the options
- 12:35Speaker 1: there are likely Willie Lampkin, who... the Eagles are bullish on.
- 12:41Speaker 1: That's been very clear. Whether you listen to Nick Sirianni,
- 12:44Speaker 1: whether you listen to Howie Roseman during cutdowns, when he
- 12:48Speaker 1: spoke about the offensive line, even that clip on social
- 12:52Speaker 1: media where Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni were letting Willie
- 12:56Speaker 1: Lampkin know that he made the team. You could just
- 12:57Speaker 1: tell that there's an affinity there for him. And I
- 13:00Speaker 1: understand why he's not the biggest guy in the world, 5'11, 290,
- 13:03Speaker 1: but he plays like he's 6'4. And he moves well.
- 13:10Speaker 1: He has that wrestling background. He has a really good
- 13:13Speaker 1: head on his shoulders. He plays like he has a
- 13:17Speaker 1: chip on his shoulder. But what I really like about
- 13:19Speaker 1: Willie is his technique, his hand placement, and his ability
- 13:24Speaker 1: to anchor. He has a really strong base that I
- 13:28Speaker 1: think you'll be impressed with if you get to see
- 13:30Speaker 1: him in an extended role, which it would appear that
- 13:33Speaker 1: that would be the case. But... Who knows whether that
- 13:37Speaker 1: will actually be at center or at left guard. It's
- 13:40Speaker 1: all about what the Eagles believe is going to be
- 13:42Speaker 1: the best alignment to give them a chance to win
- 13:46Speaker 1: the football game. So I'm not entirely certain, and I
- 13:49Speaker 1: don't know that we will be, until kickoff. They're a
- 13:55Speaker 1: competitive advantage. The Eagles aren't going to give away their
- 13:58Speaker 1: plan in all likelihood. But let's just say that Willie
- 14:02Speaker 1: Lampkin at left guard would be the logical choice there.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Drew Kendall's doing some really good things at center. I
- 14:08Speaker 1: think he took a little bit of a step back
- 14:10Speaker 1: against the Rams, but again, very limited sample size. What
- 14:15Speaker 1: you're seeing as a young player who I think is
- 14:18Speaker 1: making strides, you always get better by playing. You're not
- 14:21Speaker 1: going to get better by sitting on the bench and,
- 14:24Speaker 1: you know, you start a game or two and then,
- 14:26Speaker 1: you know, you take a seat. I mean, Or, you
- 14:29Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like, if you're rotating, like, for example,
- 14:32Speaker 1: at the safety position when Marcus Epps and Michael Carter
- 14:35Speaker 1: were rotating at safety, that doesn't benefit any player. If
- 14:39Speaker 1: Michael Carter is a player you want to get a
- 14:41Speaker 1: longer look at, he's never really played safety before, you
- 14:45Speaker 1: want to throw him out there and let him kind of,
- 14:48Speaker 1: you know, learn trial by fire. Anyway, Willie Lampkin is
- 14:54Speaker 1: the player that I believe will get the nod there.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And so you look at the offensive line, we'll go
- 15:00Speaker 1: left to right. Jordan Mailata, Willie Lampkin, Drew Kendall, Tyler Steen,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and I'm expecting it to be Markel Bell. It makes
- 15:08Speaker 1: a lot of sense. He's a young tackle. You've invested
- 15:11Speaker 1: a third round pick in him. What better way to
- 15:14Speaker 1: get his feet wet and get him that on-the-job training
- 15:17Speaker 1: than put him out there and let him kind of
- 15:20Speaker 1: learn on the job. And so that right now is
- 15:23Speaker 1: the way that I kind of read it. A lot
- 15:25Speaker 1: can change. Obviously they have other players and we'll get
- 15:28Speaker 1: to the injury report in a moment, but yeah, I
- 15:31Speaker 1: mean that, that's, that's the, that, that seems to be
- 15:35Speaker 1: the most sensible plan of attack moving forward. And they're
- 15:39Speaker 1: going to have to turn the page pretty quickly here.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni was very, I think very forthcoming and, and,
- 15:49Speaker 1: He showed a hardened resolve in sort of rallying the Eagles,
- 15:53Speaker 1: and it was in his presser on Wednesday where he
- 15:55Speaker 1: talked about locking arms and not making excuses, looking yourself
- 16:01Speaker 1: in the mirror, keeping your head up, and owning your
- 16:05Speaker 1: mistakes whenever you mess up. he pretty much talked about
- 16:10Speaker 1: coming together as a football team, banding together and focusing
- 16:13Speaker 1: on the task at hand, not making excuses, not feeling
- 16:17Speaker 1: sorry for yourself and going out there and trying to
- 16:20Speaker 1: put your best foot forward. And that's not coach speak
- 16:22Speaker 1: because when I saw Nick Sirianni talk on Wednesday, that
- 16:26Speaker 1: message came from the heart and you could tell that.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And so I think you're going to see a focus
- 16:32Speaker 1: and a determined Eagles team. They're going to be grossly undermanned.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I'm not, there's no getting around that, but yeah, the messaging, the,
- 16:40Speaker 1: from Nick Sirianni, I think he obviously leads the way.
- 16:44Speaker 1: That's something that when you have all these new pieces
- 16:47Speaker 1: in place, there's a lot of moving parts right now.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I just, you know, I don't know if they're going
- 16:52Speaker 1: to win this game. I'm not going to sit here
- 16:54Speaker 1: and give you a prediction, but I do know that
- 16:56Speaker 1: they're not just going to roll over. They're going to
- 16:58Speaker 1: go out there with something approved. They're going to try to,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I mean, they try to win every game. That's the goal.
- 17:04Speaker 1: And I, What you want to hear from your head
- 17:07Speaker 1: coach if you're the Eagles is sort of that hardened resolve,
- 17:12Speaker 1: that sort of rallying cry, I guess you could say,
- 17:15Speaker 1: that lock arms. That's how they are moving forward. So
- 17:23Speaker 1: I did have a chance to talk to Eagles running
- 17:25Speaker 1: back Will Shipley in the locker room Wednesday, and he
- 17:30Speaker 1: mentioned that he always prepares as if he's a starter.
- 17:33Speaker 1: So he said, it's Wednesday right now. I'm focused on Wednesday.
- 17:37Speaker 1: But when Sunday rolls around, whatever role I have, I'm
- 17:40Speaker 1: going to embrace it. I asked him about what Michael
- 17:44Speaker 1: Clay had to say. And Michael Clay, the Eagles special
- 17:47Speaker 1: teams coordinator, had some really interesting things to say about
- 17:49Speaker 1: how Will has taken ownership of his role on special teams.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Called him sort of a mellow, even-keeled guy. But he's
- 17:56Speaker 1: not afraid to get after it, let someone know when
- 18:00Speaker 1: something isn't right. And he mentioned when I asked him this,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I said, how are you going about asserting yourself in
- 18:06Speaker 1: this running back room where there's so much going on
- 18:10Speaker 1: right now? How how do you how do you have
- 18:12Speaker 1: that sort of calming presence and settling everything down? And
- 18:16Speaker 1: first and foremost, Will said, well, Saquon's the leader and
- 18:19Speaker 1: Saquon's very vocal and he's around and doing whatever, you know,
- 18:24Speaker 1: helping us with whatever we need. And he said he
- 18:27Speaker 1: leads Will leads by serving and leading by example. and
- 18:31Speaker 1: also in his actions and how he attacks every day,
- 18:33Speaker 1: the joy and the light that he tries to bring
- 18:35Speaker 1: to the facility every day and on the practice field.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Those were his words.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 18:44Speaker 2: long lines, we've all been there. But when it comes

- 19:40Speaker 1: I think that that is, it comes across when you
- 19:44Speaker 1: talk to Will that he's always upbeat. He does have
- 19:48Speaker 1: a calming presence. But if you watch him out there
- 19:52Speaker 1: on the field and you get him talking about a
- 19:55Speaker 1: certain aspect of football or anything really football related, you
- 19:59Speaker 1: can see the fire in his eyes. You can hear
- 20:01Speaker 1: the passion in his voice. Look, I've talked to Will now.
- 20:04Speaker 1: This is my third season. I did the Rookie Diary
- 20:07Speaker 1: with him in 2024. I've had the pleasure of getting
- 20:09Speaker 1: to know him a little bit. And when you see
- 20:12Speaker 1: him out there on the field, he has a lot
- 20:14Speaker 1: of fire and a lot of juice. And when you
- 20:17Speaker 1: hear and you see the way that Saquon has really
- 20:20Speaker 1: taken to him, even as a rookie, when he scored
- 20:22Speaker 1: that touchdown in the NFC Championship game, running down the field,
- 20:26Speaker 1: you can just see that when he watches him play,
- 20:29Speaker 1: he watches him almost like, you know, you can see
- 20:32Speaker 1: how proud he is of him. So he seems to be,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I mean, I've always... sort of gathered that he's someone
- 20:39Speaker 1: that comes across as very likable and someone that is
- 20:43Speaker 1: going to run with any opportunity that he has. And
- 20:46Speaker 1: he also mentioned this offense because the wide zone, the
- 20:50Speaker 1: stretch play, seemingly that would fit what Will does best.
- 20:54Speaker 1: And he said, you know, this is like six different offenses,
- 20:57Speaker 1: six years, I believe he said, but he said out
- 20:59Speaker 1: of the offenses that he's been in, this is definitely
- 21:02Speaker 1: one of his favorites in terms of how it complements
- 21:05Speaker 1: his game. And I'm really interested to see how he
- 21:10Speaker 1: fares in his first expanded role in a game that's
- 21:14Speaker 1: not Week 18 or anything like that. And the Eagles
- 21:17Speaker 1: also signed running back Damian Pierce to the active roster expected.
- 21:21Speaker 1: He does have experience. They're really light in that running
- 21:24Speaker 1: back room. And Damian Pierce gives you someone who at
- 21:27Speaker 1: one point in time looked to be the franchise running
- 21:30Speaker 1: back for the Houston Texans. And Nick Sirianni gushed when
- 21:34Speaker 1: talking about damian pierce and just how he conducts himself
- 21:38Speaker 1: he always has his head up his chest up and
- 21:42Speaker 1: never gets down even though he's on the practice squad
- 21:44Speaker 1: nick serrani said the eagles had a running back who's
- 21:48Speaker 1: a starting running back in the nfl on their practice
- 21:50Speaker 1: squad and he was just very um i mean he
- 21:56Speaker 1: was very effusive in his praise for damian pierce so
- 21:59Speaker 1: that appears to be the one-two punch however you decide
- 22:02Speaker 1: to to uh to rank it who's going to get
- 22:05Speaker 1: more work but it would seem to be will shipley
- 22:07Speaker 1: and damian pierce in the backfield this week adding to
- 22:10Speaker 1: the newness that the eagles are going to be unveiling
- 22:12Speaker 1: on offense so that's uh that's that and then we
- 22:18Speaker 1: also have to get to the injury report which is
- 22:20Speaker 1: pretty lengthy and there's some names on there that you're
- 22:24Speaker 1: going to want to monitor as the week progresses and
- 22:27Speaker 1: look it's going to be very difficult for some of
- 22:30Speaker 1: these guys to get back from it But let's get
- 22:33Speaker 1: to it. Not practicing. Running back Saquon Barkley, hamstring. Wide
- 22:37Speaker 1: receiver Hollywood Brown, ankle. Linebacker Jihad Campbell, knee. Safety Marcus Epps, groin.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Outside linebacker Jonathan Grenard, ankle. Center Drew Kendall, knee. Wide
- 22:47Speaker 1: receiver Devontae Smith, hamstring. Limited. Linebacker Zach Vaughn, concussion, tight
- 22:52Speaker 1: end Dallas Goddard, knee. Tackle Fred Johnson, knee. Cornerback Quinion Mitchell, knee.
- 22:57Speaker 1: First and foremost, it's good to see Quinion Mitchell back
- 23:01Speaker 1: on the field. Remember, in the second half of the
- 23:04Speaker 1: Eagles-Rams game, he left the game with a knee injury.
- 23:06Speaker 1: He ended up on the stationary bike, and then he
- 23:09Speaker 1: never returned. Jonathan Jones stepped in for him, but it
- 23:14Speaker 1: left his status gone. uncertain. Now, Vic Fangio on Tuesday
- 23:18Speaker 1: mentioned that he was hopeful that he'll have Mitchell back
- 23:20Speaker 1: this week. And the fact that he's starting out the
- 23:22Speaker 1: week limited is certainly an encouraging sign. The same can
- 23:26Speaker 1: also be said for Zach Vaughn and Dallas Goddard. Now,
- 23:29Speaker 1: Zach Vaughn, you're going to want to monitor because he
- 23:32Speaker 1: is returning from a concussion. So that's not something you
- 23:36Speaker 1: rush and it's not something you really have any control of.
- 23:38Speaker 1: It's about, are you clearing every, like, how are you
- 23:42Speaker 1: progressing through everything? And and that will be one to watch.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Dallas Goddard with the knee. It seems like Dallas Goddard
- 23:50Speaker 1: is on track to play this week. We'll have to
- 23:52Speaker 1: see how this week progresses, whether or not there's a
- 23:56Speaker 1: setback or not Thursday and maybe Friday, but it seems
- 24:00Speaker 1: like things are trending in a positive direction there. Fred Johnson,
- 24:04Speaker 1: who had been ruled out the previous two games, with
- 24:07Speaker 1: the knee injury is now limited. So again, positive stuff there.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Not surprised that Saquon wasn't practicing or Grenard or Devante. Devante,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I'm expecting to be a little while, at least a
- 24:23Speaker 1: little while longer. Saquon's considered a week to week, according
- 24:26Speaker 1: to reports. Grenard's day-to-day with the ankle. The surprising one
- 24:30Speaker 1: there was Drew Kendall. And let's not forget, and I
- 24:33Speaker 1: tweeted this when I saw it at the game, but
- 24:35Speaker 1: He was briefly in the medical tent, but he went
- 24:38Speaker 1: out there and he played the rest of the game.
- 24:40Speaker 1: He didn't miss any time. He was back for the
- 24:43Speaker 1: next series. And I don't know what that was because
- 24:46Speaker 1: he was in there so briefly that it wasn't announced
- 24:51Speaker 1: in the press box. But that will be the one
- 24:55Speaker 1: that I have highlighted going into Thursday and what I
- 24:57Speaker 1: want to learn a little bit more about because, and
- 25:00Speaker 1: we're way early here, but if you don't have Drew Kendall,
- 25:03Speaker 1: all of a sudden you may have to operate in
- 25:06Speaker 1: a world where you have Willie Lampkin at center and
- 25:08Speaker 1: maybe Micah Morris at left guard. Just something to consider
- 25:12Speaker 1: or something to keep.
- 25:12Speaker 3: An eye on.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Was a little surprised to see him pop up there
- 25:16Speaker 1: because he did finish the game. But again, I'm going
- 25:20Speaker 1: into Thursday and trying to look for Drew Kendall and
- 25:23Speaker 1: see if he's out there. And I will bring that
- 25:26Speaker 1: to you as I see it one way or another.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So that's the injury report. And we'll see how this
- 25:32Speaker 1: week continues to progress. A lot going on in the
- 25:36Speaker 1: early stages of this week. And Thursday, the Eagles are
- 25:40Speaker 1: on the practice field at 1.30. I'll have a podcast
- 25:44Speaker 1: for you after the locker room, as I always do.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And for now, that is going to do it for
- 25:48Speaker 1: this edition of DiCecco Daily. I am Andrew DiCecco, and
- 25:52Speaker 1: I'll catch you all on the next one.
