- 0:55Speaker 3: Thanks for joining us.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Well, man, I pulled them up on screens.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Yeah, a smart one, but all I've broke Black Redo
- 1:03Speaker 4: have got a fair bit gun on at the moment.
- 1:05Speaker 4: So you mentioned the tour, but we'll start off with
- 1:07Speaker 4: your newest single, a badass love song that came out recently.
- 1:10Speaker 3: So how's the only reception been for it?
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Man, everyone loves it. It's a pretty it's a pretty
- 1:15Speaker 2: fun song. It's got a lot of energy to it.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's got a lot of punk rock set of hardcore
- 1:20Speaker 2: punk sort of vibes to it, and.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's just got that.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Energy, you know, it's got it's Yeah, it's a fun one.
- 1:26Speaker 2: So and then you know, it's got some Southern sludgye
- 1:29Speaker 2: riffs in there as well, and good, good, good club banger.
- 1:34Speaker 4: You can't tell from the pace of the song, but
- 1:38Speaker 4: it actually is a love song, isn't it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I met a girl last
- 1:43Speaker 1: year who I fell for.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And you know, sometimes you just write what's on your mind,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and that's all on my mind.
- 1:51Speaker 3: How did she go with the road?
- 1:52Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:52Speaker 4: I know, women like to be serenade and they like
- 1:54Speaker 4: the romantic side of things, and this is anything but
- 1:57Speaker 4: when you listen to it.
- 1:58Speaker 3: So how did she like this? Yeah?
- 2:00Speaker 2: And I mean she's not like a metal head or
- 2:02Speaker 2: anything either. I mean she she used to listen to
- 2:04Speaker 2: some heavy stuff. I think when she'll be younger. But
- 2:06Speaker 2: but you know, she's not at home cranking Slayer on
- 2:08Speaker 2: a daily basis as as people like you.
- 2:11Speaker 1: And I tend to do. But no, she loves it.
- 2:14Speaker 1: She thinks it's great. So yeah, worked out well. She
- 2:17Speaker 1: seems to like and she listens to it every day,
- 2:19Speaker 1: which is cool, and.
- 2:22Speaker 3: You know, she's good about us accomplished.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So she's worked well.
- 2:28Speaker 3: The film clips saw some too, as are all of
- 2:30Speaker 3: your film clips private?
- 2:31Speaker 4: This one and sees the band playing a number of
- 2:33Speaker 4: different locations, including the kitchen and the basement.
- 2:36Speaker 3: So what's going on? Is there a storyline that or
- 2:38Speaker 3: is it just random random bands?
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's more loudroom. That's where I live. That's just my
- 2:44Speaker 1: lund room. Yeah, so that's that's.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Normally I'm doing an interview from or for these things.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I normally sit out there and do it. But but
- 2:51Speaker 2: my flatmates out there watching the movie or.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Something, so I'll leave him be. But yeah, it's just
- 2:56Speaker 1: more lound room.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So we needed somewhere to s We're thinking, oh, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 2: we've done a lot of narrative clips and we haven't
- 3:03Speaker 2: really done many just band clips. We did one recently
- 3:07Speaker 2: and that was pretty cool, and then we thought we'd yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 2: do something yeah, yeah, just something like just a traditional
- 3:14Speaker 2: band clip really because we haven't done many of them,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and we're trying to think of you know, basically, you
- 3:21Speaker 2: need a cool space that looks cool, and luckily my
- 3:24Speaker 2: lounge room is just full of surfboards and skateboard's hanging
- 3:26Speaker 2: on the walls everywhere.
- 3:28Speaker 1: So it sort of fit the vibe, you know.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Yeah, they bade us love song follows on from your
- 3:35Speaker 4: previous singles like We'll Rattle and chopping heads wearing fancy
- 3:38Speaker 4: bred So are they all standalone singles or are they
- 3:40Speaker 4: part of a big album repeature?
- 3:42Speaker 2: They're all stand alone singles. We've got an album that
- 3:45Speaker 2: will be coming next year. We've got it written and
- 3:47Speaker 2: recorded and it's it's a banger as well as all
- 3:53Speaker 2: of our shoes are, of course, of course. But yeah, no,
- 3:58Speaker 2: we've got a whole album coming out year that'll be
- 4:00Speaker 2: all fresh stuff from that. But yeah, this year, we've
- 4:04Speaker 2: just we've just been waiting to do that album, and
- 4:07Speaker 2: we've been waiting a while. We recorded it a couple
- 4:09Speaker 2: of years ago, but as you know, you know, it
- 4:13Speaker 2: takes a lot of effort to.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Do these things right, and we put a lot of
- 4:16Speaker 1: effort into that record.
- 4:17Speaker 2: We would have recorded it with Machine, the producer who's
- 4:21Speaker 2: done like Lamb of God and Clutch and every Time
- 4:24Speaker 2: I Die and all these sorts of bands like this,
- 4:25Speaker 2: you know, big sort of producer guy.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So we wanted to make sure we.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Had everything in the background line up to release it properly.
- 4:36Speaker 2: So we've just sort of held it off on that
- 4:37Speaker 2: for a little bit. I had some health issues and stuff,
- 4:39Speaker 2: and I know you know about this, but so you know,
- 4:41Speaker 2: for me, I had to sort of slow down a
- 4:43Speaker 2: little bit. I had had some injuries, some physical injuries
- 4:46Speaker 2: that I had to sort of take care of. So
- 4:47Speaker 2: there were some things there that you know, I had
- 4:49Speaker 2: to get taken care of first a little bit, and
- 4:52Speaker 2: so we did slow up for a little bit at
- 4:54Speaker 2: some point. But yeah, we just sort of thought, well,
- 4:58Speaker 2: next year, we're going to do the album instead of
- 5:00Speaker 2: sitting around waiting, like I mean, I've recorded everything we've
- 5:02Speaker 2: done so far in my studio. I've got like that's
- 5:05Speaker 2: my job as well, is music producer, and we've.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Got the space.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So we thought, well, instead of just waiting to release
- 5:12Speaker 2: this new record, let's just record some more songs. It's
- 5:16Speaker 2: pretty simple. We just go to the studio and track
- 5:19Speaker 2: some songs. So yeah, so we just let's just keep
- 5:23Speaker 2: putting out new music and just doing stuff basically, and
- 5:26Speaker 2: then next you we'll start working on the record.
- 5:28Speaker 6: You know.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Nice.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Now, the other big news, of course, you mentioned at
- 5:33Speaker 4: the top of the show, is that Mike Greno are
- 5:35Speaker 4: heading out on our badass East Coast tour started in
- 5:38Speaker 4: Euy and order to first you hit Victoria, New South
- 5:41Speaker 4: Welles again, queens Lay and New South Wales again and
- 5:43Speaker 4: finishing the acc on the thirtieth of August.
- 5:46Speaker 3: So what can we expect from those shows?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, about us music basically, because it.
- 5:54Speaker 1: About us you guys ready for a good time.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean basically we're and it's like you're taking
- 6:00Speaker 2: this new song out on the road, and we've got
- 6:02Speaker 2: a couple of new songs that we've just.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Released in recent times as you mentioned. So there's a
- 6:06Speaker 1: couple of fresh ones in the in the in the
- 6:08Speaker 1: in the in the in the what do you call it?
- 6:11Speaker 1: The song list?
- 6:14Speaker 2: And then yeah, so new tunes and then basically, you know,
- 6:17Speaker 2: three dudes on stage just fucking go on ham pretty
- 6:20Speaker 2: much that's what we do, you know, just have as
- 6:22Speaker 2: much fun as possible.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And give it.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Everything we've got, leave nothing to waste, and and just
- 6:32Speaker 2: get out there and rip it up. Basically, everybody rip
- 6:35Speaker 2: it up.
- 6:39Speaker 4: But there aren't a lot of shows in there, bro
- 6:43Speaker 4: and in your life shows anything but pedestrian. So how
- 6:46Speaker 4: much effort and how much practice goes into the shawl
- 6:49Speaker 4: like this before you actually go out.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know, like we've started booking this,
- 6:53Speaker 2: you know, six seven months ago, eight months ago, something
- 6:55Speaker 2: like that, booking in the date.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's all the effort that goes towards it.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's it's a huge it's a huge effort from ever
- 7:00Speaker 2: and involved artwork, you know, recordings and.
- 7:05Speaker 1: You know, video clips and all that kind of stuff.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And then and then preparation basically we just get together
- 7:10Speaker 2: and we go through that set list and we jam
- 7:12Speaker 2: it and we just work on it and make sure
- 7:14Speaker 2: that we're tight when we hit the road and and
- 7:17Speaker 2: you know, like basically just make sure we've got our
- 7:21Speaker 2: songs tight. Essentially, it's pretty simple. And then what happens
- 7:24Speaker 2: on stage is you know, in between the songs things
- 7:27Speaker 2: like that that that's different every night. It's not like, yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 2: we don't have like those you know, pre written, pre
- 7:35Speaker 2: rehearsed crowd interaction chit chats that you know sometimes appear.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Everything's definitely off the cuff in that sense, and as
- 7:45Speaker 2: it should be in my opinion. So man, is we're
- 7:49Speaker 2: just going to get ready to go out there and
- 7:50Speaker 2: fucking smash it up. And we've got a sick list
- 7:53Speaker 2: of bands we're playing with. Two Like, there's some really
- 7:56Speaker 2: cool bands that we're playing with, you know, the d
- 7:59Speaker 2: Y Show. We've got like the Darren's they're like killing
- 8:01Speaker 2: it at the moment, sick punk, surf punk, like Penrith.
- 8:07Speaker 1: There's Thraxus they've just put a new.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Album out, they're killing it at the moment, and scum
- 8:12Speaker 2: Fu and Piefly and then there's like ab Reacting in
- 8:18Speaker 2: uh in Bendigo and Harold whole Search Party and man
- 8:23Speaker 2: like go smoke it down in Melbourne.
- 8:25Speaker 1: We got It's.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot that's hard to go through. I'd
- 8:30Speaker 2: love to go through everyone shout out, but there's too many.
- 8:32Speaker 2: There's a lot of bands. There's eleven shows and so
- 8:34Speaker 2: that's like we're playing with what thirty three other bands,
- 8:36Speaker 2: and there's like Necrosonic Festival, So that's going to be insane.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It is indeed.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Like the light up for theft Sonic, Like it's going
- 8:45Speaker 4: to be a huge Liane like, how do you approach
- 8:47Speaker 4: a festival like that? Do you approach it with a
- 8:49Speaker 4: view to having fantasy in bands? You focus on what
- 8:52Speaker 4: you've got to do more.
- 8:53Speaker 1: So yes, both.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I mean, you know, like obviously you know, I'm probably
- 9:01Speaker 2: not going to hit the cans too hard before we
- 9:03Speaker 2: hit stage. Usually you know that doesn't actually help. It's
- 9:06Speaker 2: funny it hammit before you play, but let's be honest,
- 9:08Speaker 2: you don't play as well. So we you know, we
- 9:11Speaker 2: will just make sure we don't wreck ourselves before our
- 9:13Speaker 2: set and then afterwards free range.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Basically we're just going and joy.
- 9:19Speaker 2: All the bands. Like those festivals are unreal. Half the time,
- 9:22Speaker 2: we know a bunch of the bands on the festival,
- 9:25Speaker 2: and then you end up meeting a whole bunch of
- 9:27Speaker 2: other bands that you haven't you know, played with before,
- 9:30Speaker 2: and it's just a massive catch up. It's just a huge, you.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Know, get together. It's just a big social it's so
- 9:36Speaker 1: much fun.
- 9:36Speaker 2: And just yet watch all the bands enjoy the atmosphere,
- 9:39Speaker 2: chat with all the people in the crowd that say gooday,
- 9:41Speaker 2: and just enjoy the festival as anyone else would and
- 9:45Speaker 2: except you know, we get that extra bonus of playing,
- 9:48Speaker 2: you know.
- 9:49Speaker 4: And the other festival on that Runner shows it's a
- 9:51Speaker 4: Canberra metal Festa on August the thirties, so what.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Can you tell us about that, Well.
- 9:55Speaker 2: They haven't announced anything from what I can tell yet,
- 9:57Speaker 2: so first I don't think i've seen anything yet. But
- 10:01Speaker 2: that's that's a sick festival at at the Basement, which
- 10:07Speaker 2: is like a really well known venue in the act
- 10:10Speaker 2: in canber there run by some core people, like it's
- 10:14Speaker 2: one of those venues that's, you know, run by just
- 10:16Speaker 2: core people that are all about it, and that'll be sick.
- 10:21Speaker 2: They'll have a couple of stages going. We played it
- 10:23Speaker 2: a few years ago it was packed and fucking awesome,
- 10:26Speaker 2: So it'll just basically be a thrownown of metal bands
- 10:28Speaker 2: basically all day and night.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Oh and that takes you up to the end of August.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Bro So what else of Black brend I got played
- 10:35Speaker 4: for the rest of the year.
- 10:37Speaker 2: We're gonna have something else that's going to be pretty
- 10:40Speaker 2: special to do that we'll announce after this tour because
- 10:46Speaker 2: this year marks a decade of the band, so Happy
- 10:51Speaker 2: November actually marks a decade of the band.
- 10:54Speaker 1: So we're going to do something.
- 10:56Speaker 5: It might be in November, I don't know, but man,
- 11:02Speaker 5: we're gonna, We're gonna, We're gonna keep the fucking jams
- 11:06Speaker 5: happening and just keep you know, initiating just starting good times,
- 11:10Speaker 5: fucking making music happen and doing cool ship and cooking
- 11:14Speaker 5: up with cool people and cool.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Friends and and just keep the good times rolling. Essentially,
- 11:19Speaker 2: that's the plan. And then you know that then that'll
- 11:21Speaker 2: be this year. That'll be this year pretty pretty pretty
- 11:25Speaker 2: pretty packed out. We've we've done a fair bit this
- 11:27Speaker 2: year in terms of hitting the road and releasing stuff.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And then I guess you know, that'll be it for
- 11:32Speaker 2: the year.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll be it. And then next year we'll see
- 11:34Speaker 1: what will happen.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Next year, some more stuff will be next will be
- 11:38Speaker 2: old and busy too.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I'm always pleasure chatting with your brother.
- 11:43Speaker 4: So where's the best place people can find out about
- 11:45Speaker 4: the chore and keep up with Black Greade.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Go to black Reno dot com. That's you know, your
- 11:50Speaker 2: tickets for all the shows. There, makes it simple, one spot,
- 11:54Speaker 2: you know, get on socials and all that sort of stuff.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Check out our new single, check out the new video clip.

- 12:03Speaker 2: August every weekend.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Come come fucking rock out.
- 12:09Speaker 5: You're paying a fishing that pills the pure fishing in.
- 12:13Speaker 1: The pails and I don't want it else fuck yeah,
