- 0:11Speaker 1: He's the bold reform it.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Tonight a day of shame for the Prime Minister in
- 0:19Speaker 2: his worst press conference for the year, unable to say
- 0:22Speaker 2: even if he supports Israel firing back after Round's massive
- 0:26Speaker 2: missile attack. Plus the ABC's many directors forced to sit
- 0:30Speaker 2: through one of the longest acknowledgement of traditional owners after
- 0:33Speaker 2: the ABC was accused of systemic racism. Watch the ABC
- 0:37Speaker 2: outwoke even itself and debate disaster as Kamala Harris's running
- 0:42Speaker 2: mate trying to explain why he lied, and I'm a
- 0:46Speaker 2: knuckleheader and another crispone green scheme in trouble as electric
- 0:52Speaker 2: cars go up in smoke. But first the mask is off.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You're round.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Last night at one hundred and eighty one missiles at Israel,
- 1:03Speaker 2: overwhelming Israel's Iron Dome missile defense. Missiles exploded over Israel,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but despite the terror, came this astonishing good news. Israel
- 1:14Speaker 2: is actually winning and its critics were so very wrong
- 1:17Speaker 2: to tell her to stop fighting. I'll get to our
- 1:19Speaker 2: Prime Minister in a second. He utterly disgraced himself. Today Israel
- 1:24Speaker 2: is actually stronger because this attack shows the truth. It
- 1:27Speaker 2: is Iran that's been the puppa master in this terrorist
- 1:31Speaker 2: war against Israel. Iran far of those missiles because it's
- 1:35Speaker 2: been humiliated. It's funded and armed at Hamas terrorists in Gaza,
- 1:39Speaker 2: only to see Hamas destroyed by Israel. It funded and
- 1:43Speaker 2: armedy Hesbela terrorists in Lebanon, only to have Hesbela's entire
- 1:47Speaker 2: leadership wiped out in just two weeks. So Iran finally
- 1:51Speaker 2: had to step up all lose face. But eve Israel
- 1:55Speaker 2: has already won even before it hits back first, because
- 2:00Speaker 2: Iran is now being exposed as the puppet master in
- 2:03Speaker 2: this war waged by Isamus groups against Israel. Our leaders
- 2:08Speaker 2: cannot now keep acting like Iran is just a spectator here.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I mean, for a mister penny one. She's probably been
- 2:14Speaker 2: criticized Iran only a couple of times this year, but
- 2:18Speaker 2: criticize Israel constantly.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Soul Israel's fault.
- 2:22Speaker 2: There's a war second, It's now clear that this war
- 2:26Speaker 2: in Israel is little to do with justice for Palestinians.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Iran it is calling the main shots, and he wants
- 2:32Speaker 2: Israel wiped off the map. It's a preme leader told
- 2:35Speaker 2: the mass leader now dead, that he wanted Israel destroyed,
- 2:39Speaker 2: removed from the river to the sea.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Iran would never.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Accept the peace deal that let Israel live. And third,
- 2:47Speaker 2: is Iran is now exposed. This week, the only person
- 2:51Speaker 2: killed by missile attack was the fact of Palestinian killed
- 2:54Speaker 2: in the West Bank by falling debuts. There's something symbolic
- 2:56Speaker 2: right there, but it is true Jew's work last night.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Seven of them, but they were shot dead by Muslim
- 3:03Speaker 2: terrorists were then themselves killed. But Iran's failure proves again
- 3:14Speaker 2: that Iran cannot match Israeli technology.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And lastly, Israel has now sent a.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Message to the world that it cannot be attacked as
- 3:26Speaker 2: it was on October seven by Hamas, not without its enemies.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Paying a terrible price and being feared makes Israel safer
- 3:36Speaker 2: than being pitied. And Israel says it's yet to strike
- 3:40Speaker 2: back at Iran.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Iran made a major mistake this evening, and it will
- 3:44Speaker 3: pay for it. The regime in Iran just doesn't understand
- 3:47Speaker 3: our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to retaliate
- 3:53Speaker 3: to our enemies.
- 3:55Speaker 2: A tip, Iran's nuclear bomb project must now be Israel's
- 3:59Speaker 2: target number one. If I was working on that bomb,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'd get the hell out of there, so Israel wins
- 4:06Speaker 2: and Iran loss, which is the only result that makes
- 4:10Speaker 2: the West safer too. But does our Prime minister understand
- 4:19Speaker 2: any of this? Instead, Anthony Albanezi today exposed himself as
- 4:24Speaker 2: unfit for office. He gave a disastrous press conference today
- 4:29Speaker 2: hours after that uranium missile attack, and three days after
- 4:32Speaker 2: we had anti Israel protests in our own streets waving
- 4:36Speaker 2: terrorist flags, the yellow flag of Hesbalah. Now I want
- 4:41Speaker 2: to show you some of what Albanezei said today, because
- 4:43Speaker 2: not only was it a disgrace, it was made worse
- 4:47Speaker 2: by the contrast with what opposite to leader Peter Dunton
- 4:50Speaker 2: said in his own press conference this morning. You compare
- 4:54Speaker 2: and contrast and ask yourself which leader sees what's at
- 4:58Speaker 2: stake as an alliance of tyrannies Iran, Russia, China now
- 5:03Speaker 2: wages a new World war on democracies Ukraine, Israel and
- 5:09Speaker 2: soon Taiwan. Which of them these two leaders can now
- 5:14Speaker 2: see that this is a battle to save Western civilization
- 5:17Speaker 2: that has also come to Australia. Let's start with Albinizi's
- 5:23Speaker 2: astonishing refusal this morning to back Israel's brilliant counter attack
- 5:26Speaker 2: of the past two weeks against the Hesbela terrorist army
- 5:29Speaker 2: that had spent the past year firing nine thousand rockets
- 5:33Speaker 2: and missiles into Israel.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Does the Israel up and support its effort to take
- 5:38Speaker 4: out Hasbela's infrastructure.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Well, we regard Hesbela as a terrorist organization, as we
- 5:44Speaker 5: regard Hamas as a terrorist organization. We have been working
- 5:48Speaker 5: with like minded countries and issuing appropriate statements such as
- 5:53Speaker 5: the one that I referred to.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Did you notice albanis he couldn't bring himself to support
- 6:00Speaker 2: Israel decapitating the leadership of the world's biggest terrorist army
- 6:04Speaker 2: which has attacked Israel. It's murdered US soldiers, as assassinated
- 6:08Speaker 2: elevenies Christian leaders. It killed even ninety people in Argentina
- 6:12Speaker 2: when it bombed the Jewish cultural center there. But don't
- 6:15Speaker 2: worry you hurt him has issued appropriate statements. What a relief,
- 6:21Speaker 2: and he quoted one of them today when he was
- 6:23Speaker 2: asked if he at least supported Israel now firing back
- 6:26Speaker 2: at Iran after this huge missile attacked last night.
- 6:31Speaker 1: He couldn't even do that.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Israel, of course, has a right to defend itself. What
- 6:38Speaker 5: we have called for consistently is for a de escalation
- 6:44Speaker 5: in the region of diplomacy, however, cannot succeed amid an
- 6:48Speaker 5: escalation of this conflict.
- 6:51Speaker 2: You notice how this government always calls for de escalation
- 6:54Speaker 2: just after Israel is attacked, just when it's preparing to
- 6:57Speaker 2: hit back at terrorists.
- 6:58Speaker 1: De escalate.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Funny that and why he is Alban is he blathering
- 7:03Speaker 2: about giving more diplomacy a chance. How does he think
- 7:08Speaker 2: diplomacy would have worked with Hespola's leader, Hassan Nothrella, who
- 7:13Speaker 2: Israel killed last week? Doesreela called Israel an aggressive, illegal
- 7:18Speaker 2: and illegitimate entity, which he said had no future in
- 7:22Speaker 2: our land. How does albanies he think the plomacy would
- 7:25Speaker 2: have worked with Iran's top military commander in Lebanon, who
- 7:30Speaker 2: once gloated that it was his ultimate dream to destroy Israel.
- 7:35Speaker 1: As she said that, you kid, it's n Charlot to shows.
- 7:44Speaker 2: This is how many is he think those guys Iran
- 7:47Speaker 2: Supreme leader they're all kidding when they say they really
- 7:50Speaker 2: do want Israel destroyed? Does he really think Israel can
- 7:54Speaker 2: negotiate with such terrorists? Now Israel, you know they've worked
- 7:59Speaker 2: out in fact, no negotiating with people like that it's
- 8:02Speaker 2: either kill or be killed And to all this, how
- 8:06Speaker 2: many he seems blind so often criticizing Israel instead, in fact,
- 8:12Speaker 2: is how many is He admitted today he haven't even
- 8:14Speaker 2: contacted Iran's ambassador to protest that this missile attack on Israel.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Have you had any contact with the Irangan and dusted
- 8:22Speaker 6: up following those strikes over night?
- 8:24Speaker 1: No?
- 8:27Speaker 5: Well, I've been here in Melbourne, so no, I have not.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Is He answered.
- 8:37Speaker 2: No, he couldn't because he's been here in Melbourne and
- 8:40Speaker 2: as you know, Melbourne doesn't have telephones. I mean no,
- 8:43Speaker 2: it hadn't even occurred to him to tear a strip
- 8:47Speaker 2: off Iran's ambassador. But like I said, the contrast with
- 8:51Speaker 2: Peter Dunton this morning is what made albaniz He look
- 8:54Speaker 2: even worse. Here is done in this morning answering the
- 8:59Speaker 2: very question did he support Israel's attack on Hezbollah and
- 9:05Speaker 2: putting it in the right context.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Israel's been very clear that they're not going to be
- 9:11Speaker 4: subject to attack, and nor should they be. They're a democracy,
- 9:14Speaker 4: They're a society like ours. They believe in freedom of speech,
- 9:17Speaker 4: they believe in adherence to the rule of law, adherence
- 9:20Speaker 4: to the rule of international law, and to see them
- 9:23Speaker 4: under attack would be no different than seeing the United
- 9:27Speaker 4: States or the United Kingdom or Canada under attack, or
- 9:30Speaker 4: France or Germany. And nothing was happening. On the sixth
- 9:34Speaker 4: of October. To make this point, when Hamas decided to
- 9:38Speaker 4: go in and slaughter twelve hundred people in the kibbutzers
- 9:42Speaker 4: and at the music festival, it was an act of
- 9:46Speaker 4: savage brutality. These people are terrorists and Israel has an absolute,
- 9:50Speaker 4: undeniable right to protect and defend herself.
- 9:54Speaker 2: One of these two leaders understands that we all in
- 9:58Speaker 2: the West are in.
- 9:59Speaker 1: A war for our values.
- 10:01Speaker 2: They had democracies. The other guy is our Prime minister
- 10:06Speaker 2: and so unworthy. Joining me from Jerusalem is Mark Sofer,
- 10:15Speaker 2: who was Australia's Israel's ambassador to Australia.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Mark, it's great to.
- 10:21Speaker 2: See you again, Or mister ambassador, how did you spend
- 10:25Speaker 2: last night with one hundred and eighty one Iranian missiles
- 10:28Speaker 2: fight at Israel. I actually saw footage of some of
- 10:30Speaker 2: them going right over your head.
- 10:34Speaker 7: Well, like the other ten million Israelis, we went scurrying
- 10:39Speaker 7: to the bomb shelters, where we spent an hour and
- 10:42Speaker 7: a half waiting for the or two hours waiting for
- 10:45Speaker 7: the all clear sign. And of course this was an
- 10:50Speaker 7: attack of the highest of the worst order, imaginable, but thankfully,
- 10:55Speaker 7: and I think we have to play our thanks where
- 10:58Speaker 7: they are due. The Israeli Air Force air defense systems
- 11:02Speaker 7: worked immediately, amazingly well. And despite one hundred and eighty
- 11:06Speaker 7: of the more than one hundred and eighty missiles that
- 11:07Speaker 7: rained down on instant civilians through the whole length and
- 11:10Speaker 7: breadth of the country, not one person in Israel was killed.
- 11:15Speaker 8: Thank God.
- 11:16Speaker 2: It's astonishing. That is just so astonishing. But as you know,
- 11:20Speaker 2: you can't ride that luck forever. I mean, there's skill too,
- 11:23Speaker 2: but some of those missiles did hit. What does this
- 11:26Speaker 2: attack tell you about the situation israels in and what
- 11:31Speaker 2: Israel needs to do well?
- 11:33Speaker 8: I think Andrew tells me two things.
- 11:36Speaker 7: Number One is behind all the violence, hate, death and
- 11:39Speaker 7: destruction in the Middle East and what we're facing since
- 11:43Speaker 7: the seventh of October and actually before then, it lies
- 11:45Speaker 7: the Iranian regime. They are masterminding, they are financing, they
- 11:49Speaker 7: are arming almost every terrorist organization, every terrorist organization in
- 11:56Speaker 7: the region, be it a mask is Ballah, the Hoots,
- 12:00Speaker 7: in Yemen, the militias in Syria, Iraq, even as far
- 12:05Speaker 7: as western Sahara. So whether the Iranian regime has its
- 12:09Speaker 7: nefarious arm appointed that there is going to be death
- 12:13Speaker 7: and destruction and butchery.
- 12:15Speaker 8: So the regime really has to go.
- 12:17Speaker 7: And I believe that the civilized international community actually does
- 12:21Speaker 7: understand that. The second thing I would take from this
- 12:24Speaker 7: is that Iran really does not understand the Israeli resolved. Now,
- 12:29Speaker 7: we are very divided as far as the Israeli government
- 12:32Speaker 7: is concerned. I myself am certainly no fan of it
- 12:36Speaker 7: to use an understatement. And yet when it comes to
- 12:38Speaker 7: an issue like this, when it comes to the attack
- 12:40Speaker 7: that we had on innocent people with two almost two
- 12:44Speaker 7: hundred missiles raining down on us, we are in a consensus,
- 12:47Speaker 7: and we are in full resolve, and the resilience is
- 12:50Speaker 7: normal and it's huge. And I can tell you that
- 12:53Speaker 7: we are completely and utterly behind all of us, completely
- 12:57Speaker 7: and utterly behind the result of self defense and the
- 13:01Speaker 7: need to defend our population, our civilians from attacks of
- 13:06Speaker 7: this horror.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Have you any idea what Israel will now do? I mean,
- 13:14Speaker 2: you know that Iran's been very close to finishing the
- 13:19Speaker 2: building its first nuclear bomb Israel after seeing what's happened
- 13:24Speaker 2: in the Lasi. You can't have that threat just over
- 13:27Speaker 2: the border, a little over the border.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Do you think that's going to be a target.
- 13:33Speaker 7: Well, I can't and won't speak for the Nataniel government course, which,
- 13:39Speaker 7: as I said earlier, not exactly in favor of However,
- 13:42Speaker 7: clearly there must be a response. There will be a response,
- 13:45Speaker 7: and nobody thinks otherwise here at all. I think what's
- 13:49Speaker 7: important if you ask me what should happen, is that
- 13:53Speaker 7: a collateral damage on Iranian civilians should be limited to
- 13:56Speaker 7: us on the minimum possible, and that the targets be
- 14:00Speaker 7: the Iranian regime and the Urian facilities be it what.
- 14:03Speaker 7: I won't rule out nuclear ones, but there are other
- 14:05Speaker 7: facilities as well. There are oil facilities of which Iranian
- 14:08Speaker 7: economy is based, there are the government infrastructure there, et cetera,
- 14:13Speaker 7: et cetera. So I won't really put a finger on it,
- 14:16Speaker 7: basically because I can't. I don't think anybody really except
- 14:19Speaker 7: for the pals that be who are commanding it in
- 14:21Speaker 7: the military and know what will happen and when. However,
- 14:24Speaker 7: I would think that it's certainly upmost in their minds
- 14:27Speaker 7: to limit casualties on the Ranian population, which, as you know,
- 14:32Speaker 7: is vehemently and overwhelmingly against the primitive and the medieval
- 14:37Speaker 7: regime which is occupying them.
- 14:40Speaker 8: There's no other words to use.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I think the young of Iran Israel's greatest the allies
- 14:48Speaker 2: in this war, and they cannot be turned against Israel
- 14:51Speaker 2: by any misdirected reprisals. Look, you're familiar with Australia. There
- 14:59Speaker 2: have been any calls from our government for Israel to
- 15:03Speaker 2: de escalate and to negotiate. So much criticism of Israel
- 15:09Speaker 2: at the UN last week. It's just throughout the year
- 15:14Speaker 2: ken Israel in fact negotiation and it's almost, by the way,
- 15:17Speaker 2: no criticism of Iran. A couple of criticisms, but very few.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Can Israel really negotiate peace with enemies like Hisbellah Hamas Iran,
- 15:29Speaker 2: or negotiate without first firing back?
- 15:34Speaker 8: Well, well, I will make two points here.
- 15:35Speaker 7: Perhaps the second you may not agree with Andrew, but
- 15:37Speaker 7: I think that as far as negotiating with the terrorist
- 15:41Speaker 7: entities like Hamas and Pisabella, it's a little bit like
- 15:44Speaker 7: negotiating with iss or al KaiA. What what do you
- 15:48Speaker 7: negotiate about? They are dedicated that one hundred percent of
- 15:51Speaker 7: this destruction of the state of Israel. So what are
- 15:53Speaker 7: we supposed to just to negotiate with them over the
- 15:57Speaker 7: speed of our destruction, the method our destruction. With these
- 16:00Speaker 7: type of fanatical terrorists Islamist rather than Islamic Islamist killers,
- 16:07Speaker 7: there's not anything.
- 16:07Speaker 8: To negotiate about.
- 16:09Speaker 7: And I put aside for a moment the only issue
- 16:11Speaker 7: that we really should come to an agreement with which
- 16:13Speaker 7: is over a temperar, which is over the hostage issue,
- 16:16Speaker 7: which they are still holding one hundred and one innocent
- 16:19Speaker 7: Israelis in tunnels and caves and under the awful conditions.
- 16:24Speaker 7: And so as far as the Hamas and Chris Balan
- 16:27Speaker 7: the other terrorists concern, there's nothing to negotiate about. However,
- 16:31Speaker 7: I do think, and here as I said, you may
- 16:33Speaker 7: not agree. I do think that we need to put
- 16:37Speaker 7: some form of political horizon on the agenda, not only Israel,
- 16:42Speaker 7: I think the international community and the moderate Arab world.
- 16:45Speaker 7: And that is because despite the fact that military force
- 16:50Speaker 7: has to be used in circumstances like we are in
- 16:53Speaker 7: facing such horror and butchery of in our neighboring surroundings,
- 16:59Speaker 7: I think think that force alone may not win the day,
- 17:04Speaker 7: and we have to address the ultimate threat, which is Iran,
- 17:08Speaker 7: and the way to do that is to forge an alliance,
- 17:12Speaker 7: a region alliance with the forward looking Arab countries against
- 17:15Speaker 7: Iran's proxies which have to be destroyed, but also to
- 17:19Speaker 7: work together to really to bring the Iranian regime to
- 17:23Speaker 7: its needs, and that needs to be done.
- 17:26Speaker 2: You're going, I don't know why you think I would
- 17:28Speaker 2: disagree with that. I'm absolutely on board and in fact
- 17:32Speaker 2: you as you know, the Hamass attack on Israel was
- 17:36Speaker 2: just on the brink of Israel forging a historic relationship
- 17:40Speaker 2: with Saudi Arabia, and I think this is the way
- 17:43Speaker 2: to go.
- 17:43Speaker 1: But you can only do it from.
- 17:44Speaker 8: Position I didn't say you will not.
- 17:47Speaker 7: I think you may not, and I'm glad here that
- 17:49Speaker 7: that's We're in a great one as well.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Now I totally agree with you. Always great to catch
- 17:55Speaker 2: up with you. Thank you so much for your time.
- 17:57Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 18:00Speaker 1: You know.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It's just astonishing to me that Anthony Abernezi today couldn't
- 18:03Speaker 2: even say you support Israel striking back against the run
- 18:07Speaker 2: after that missile attack.
- 18:09Speaker 1: No, he said, de escalate.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Israel of course has a right to defend itself. What
- 18:16Speaker 5: we have called for consistently is for a de escalation
- 18:22Speaker 5: in the region of diplomacy, however, cannot succeed amid an
- 18:26Speaker 5: escalation of this conflict.
- 18:29Speaker 2: But even US President Joe Barden, you know, he's been
- 18:32Speaker 2: weak on Iran, terribly weak, but even he was backing
- 18:36Speaker 2: Israel in striking back.
- 18:39Speaker 4: The United States is fully, fully, fully supportive.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Of Israel joining me is Ron Dene and for the
- 18:45Speaker 2: Spectator's threatning hosts of outsiders on Sky News every Sunday.
- 18:48Speaker 1: At nine am Rowan.
- 18:49Speaker 2: It's this is astonishing, the Albaniezi government Australia splitting with
- 18:55Speaker 2: the United States on whether to back Israel fighting back
- 19:00Speaker 2: against the massive missile attack from a terrorist sponsoring state.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I mean, did you ever think you to get to this?
- 19:11Speaker 9: Yes, yes, always did think it would get to this
- 19:13Speaker 9: because the Alberanesi government, epitomized by Penny Wong as our
- 19:16Speaker 9: foreign Minister, is an absolute joke. It was a joke
- 19:19Speaker 9: from the moment it was elected. There was a joke
- 19:21Speaker 9: on foreign affairs from the moment it was elected, as
- 19:24Speaker 9: I said at the time, since it's come as a
- 19:26Speaker 9: surprise to other people since then. But This is what
- 19:28Speaker 9: happens when you take a group of undergraduate students from
- 19:31Speaker 9: the eighties, from our miserable universities dottled around the country
- 19:36Speaker 9: and put them into power and government in mirored in
- 19:40Speaker 9: left wing, turgid thinking from twenty thirty years ago. So
- 19:45Speaker 9: you have Anthony Albenezi banging on about de escalation and
- 19:49Speaker 9: cease fires and Penny Wang going on about, you know,
- 19:54Speaker 9: basically the same thing, saying that there needs to be
- 19:56Speaker 9: a two state solution and so on and so forth.
- 19:59Speaker 9: The solution is completely the opposite of what Anthony Albernezian
- 20:03Speaker 9: Penny Wog prescribe the old fashioned left wing undergraduate thinking
- 20:08Speaker 9: is that you resolve the Palestine issue and then suddenly,
- 20:11Speaker 9: magically peace comes to the Middle East. The reality, as
- 20:14Speaker 9: your previous guests kind of hinted at, I think he
- 20:16Speaker 9: got some of it wrong as well, was the reality
- 20:19Speaker 9: is you destroy the Iranian regime and peace will come
- 20:24Speaker 9: to the Middle East through an Israeli Saudi alliance. Now
- 20:28Speaker 9: Benjamin Ettna who hinted at that in his speech and
- 20:31Speaker 9: hinted at the fact Shane Penniwong didn't bother to go
- 20:34Speaker 9: to the speech after lecturing Israel. She apparently didn't actually
- 20:37Speaker 9: bother to listen to Netanyahu's speech. Had she, she would
- 20:40Speaker 9: have learned that peace in the Middle East will come
- 20:42Speaker 9: through an Israeli Saudi alliance that the other Gulf states
- 20:45Speaker 9: will join and the rest of the Middle East will
- 20:46Speaker 9: join in. But absolutely fundamental to that, the Iranian regime
- 20:51Speaker 9: must be removed, and it won't be removed through international alliances.
- 20:54Speaker 1: As your previous guest said.
- 20:55Speaker 9: That's nonsense, that's wishful thinking. It will be removed the
- 20:59Speaker 9: same way as has been removed and Hermas has been
- 21:02Speaker 9: removed the Israelis. And I guarantee you it's going to
- 21:04Speaker 9: happen pretty soon now. And Nettaya, who pretty much said
- 21:08Speaker 9: as much the other day, they are going to take
- 21:10Speaker 9: out the Iranian regime. They're going to destroy the Iotolers
- 21:13Speaker 9: because that is the only way you can bring peace
- 21:16Speaker 9: to the Middle East. The Iotolers must go. They must
- 21:18Speaker 9: have been destroyed, killed militarily through an Israeli stripe. That
- 21:22Speaker 9: is what will happen, Andrew. And it's going to happen
- 21:24Speaker 9: very very soon because the Israelis have a lot of time.
- 21:27Speaker 9: They now have to do that.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Yeah, i'd likely to be that easy. But I think
- 21:32Speaker 2: that regime has got tentacles on a lot of weaponry
- 21:36Speaker 2: and all that.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So we shall see.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And you can't start bombing the young in any way
- 21:39Speaker 2: because they are the ally here.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Now, there is.
- 21:42Speaker 9: One thing the people are probably for the regime to go.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, they are, they are. We've seen it.
- 21:49Speaker 2: We've seen that, the protests on the street and how
- 21:51Speaker 2: many of them getting murdered by the regime. Now, Rowan,
- 21:55Speaker 2: there is one issue that I am worried about that
- 22:00Speaker 2: they don't think. I see ida I here with both
- 22:04Speaker 2: Albanezi and Peter Dutton. Both of them are saying the
- 22:09Speaker 2: protests planned by Propalacinian radicals on Monday, which is the
- 22:13Speaker 2: anniversary of the mass slaughter of twelve hundred Jews last
- 22:17Speaker 2: October seven, that it should be banned. The protest is disgusting,
- 22:24Speaker 2: it is disgraceful, and it may be dangerous. Maybe you
- 22:28Speaker 2: should be banned for that reason. But should it be
- 22:31Speaker 2: banned I mean free speech?
- 22:33Speaker 9: Rowan, Well, I think that's to confuse free speech and
- 22:40Speaker 9: mass protests, and the two things are very very different. Now,
- 22:42Speaker 9: if any single individual from the Hezbolla loving Hamas loving
- 22:47Speaker 9: community wants to go out on a soapbox in speakers
- 22:51Speaker 9: corner in Hyde Park, stand up by themselves and explain
- 22:55Speaker 9: their thinking and their reasoning and their belief system. Fantastic,
- 22:58Speaker 9: Go and do it. Is what free speech is all about.
- 23:01Speaker 9: I bet they don't have the courage to, but anyway,
- 23:03Speaker 9: that is what free speech is all about. Mass protests,
- 23:07Speaker 9: rallies where you use large groups of people shouting political
- 23:13Speaker 9: slogans has nothing to do with free speech. That is intimidation.
- 23:16Speaker 9: It's Hitler youth style, Nazis style, the communist style, intimidation.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Of the masses.
- 23:22Speaker 8: And this is what we are seeing nothing to do.
- 23:25Speaker 9: Free speech does not entitle you to say gas the Jews,
- 23:27Speaker 9: or where there's where's the Jews or whatever it is
- 23:29Speaker 9: now in an environment where there are Jewish people and
- 23:33Speaker 9: it's so until we arrest protest.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yes they were policed properly, right.
- 23:40Speaker 9: Yes, yes, but where they haven't policed them properly and
- 23:47Speaker 9: they didn't arrest a single individual from the previous event.
- 23:51Speaker 9: So those delegitimize themselves. They have shown they are not
- 23:57Speaker 9: worthy of being given the freedoms that we normally get
- 24:00Speaker 9: to mass protests. They have shown they're a political movement
- 24:02Speaker 9: that is above the law, believes itself to be above
- 24:05Speaker 9: the law until our politicians and our police forces say it.
- 24:08Speaker 9: Stand up and say I'm sorry. You broke the rules.
- 24:10Speaker 9: We allowed you your mass protests, but you use it
- 24:13Speaker 9: to intimidate the Jewish population of this country and to
- 24:16Speaker 9: threaten people. You cannot do that. You therefore cannot protest. Again,
- 24:20Speaker 9: pretty simple, by the rules of the civilized society. Then
- 24:24Speaker 9: you can keep them, Yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Well, totally absolutely out. They have to be policed like
- 24:30Speaker 2: they haven't been policed. You don't stand here blocking the traffic.
- 24:34Speaker 2: You stand in a park blocking nobody. We have got
- 24:38Speaker 2: to have a total revamp of how these things are police.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But when we start picking and choosing which protests to
- 24:46Speaker 2: be banned, I think we're in a real slippery slope.
- 24:52Speaker 2: We really are, and I worry about this.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Rondine. Let's debate this further.
- 24:56Speaker 2: When you'll be able to say you were right when
- 24:59Speaker 2: you see what happen it was on Monday. I think
- 25:01Speaker 2: we're seeing a boy that rowan case Vietnam. After the
- 25:06Speaker 2: break another fine mess that energy messter Chris Bonus got
- 25:09Speaker 2: us into another electric car goes up in smoke. I'll
- 25:19Speaker 2: get onto the electric cars in a minute. But I
- 25:21Speaker 2: have to stick with this. I've got to say it
- 25:26Speaker 2: because today was such a dark day for this country
- 25:29Speaker 2: and its values. It's just shocked me our government turning
- 25:35Speaker 2: its back on a fellow democracy, an ally that last
- 25:40Speaker 2: night had one hundred and eighty one missiles farighted it
- 25:42Speaker 2: by a terrorist entity. Joining me is the panel Michael Costa,
- 25:46Speaker 2: former New South Wales Labor Treasurer and Garth Hamilton federal
- 25:50Speaker 2: Liberal MP. Michael the Prime Minister's press performance at his
- 25:55Speaker 2: press conference today, refusing to say even if you backed
- 25:59Speaker 2: this for our striking acuity, run still calling for Israel
- 26:02Speaker 2: to negotiate with terrorists. What on earth has happened to him?
- 26:07Speaker 10: It just shows the moral bankruptcy of this government. It
- 26:10Speaker 10: is absolutely appalling. I mean they're putting their personal political
- 26:15Speaker 10: interest that is those western suburb seats and those seats
- 26:19Speaker 10: that have ethnic minorities that they want to appease against
- 26:23Speaker 10: ahead of the national interests and that is pathetic. I mean,
- 26:26Speaker 10: as you said, Andrew, a one hundred and eighty ballistic missiles.
- 26:29Speaker 10: Those missiles, of course are capable of carrying nuclear warheads
- 26:32Speaker 10: and thank goodness, Ran doesn't have those at the moment
- 26:35Speaker 10: it appears, and what's our response a ceasefire? What a
- 26:40Speaker 10: ridiculous position. You are being attacked in a way that
- 26:44Speaker 10: no other country has been attacked in history, and they're
- 26:48Speaker 10: calling for a ceasefire. They are morally bankrupt, They're on
- 26:51Speaker 10: the wrong side of the argument. Thank Heavens for Israel's
- 26:54Speaker 10: standing up for the values of the West, and unfortunately
- 26:58Speaker 10: our government is wanting on this. Even Joe Biden, in
- 27:02Speaker 10: his late demented state, said very strong things in support
- 27:07Speaker 10: of Israel. I mean, whether he follows through or not
- 27:09Speaker 10: is another matter. But you know, this reminds me of
- 27:12Speaker 10: the Second World War, the early part where Britain stood
- 27:14Speaker 10: alone against the evils of Nazism.
- 27:17Speaker 1: We've seen this with Israel.
- 27:18Speaker 10: Israel's doing the same thing and nobody's supporting them.
- 27:23Speaker 2: I had exactly the same sentiment this morning, and with
- 27:27Speaker 2: you know, America playing that isolationist game that we saw
- 27:31Speaker 2: at the beginning of World War Two as well.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Garth.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Look, it's a powerful and damaging political point to say
- 27:40Speaker 2: it's all about the Muslim vote in western Sydney. But
- 27:43Speaker 2: I wonder now, because this must be so damaging to
- 27:46Speaker 2: the labor wider vote. People have seen through this that
- 27:51Speaker 2: I'm starting to think, you know, is there some sort
- 27:54Speaker 2: of blind spot here? Is it an animist of genuine
- 27:58Speaker 2: animist to Israel is a total ignorance of the mindset
- 28:02Speaker 2: of terrorists?
- 28:03Speaker 1: What is it? Look, Andrew?
- 28:07Speaker 6: I really hate to think that this is purely being
- 28:10Speaker 6: done along political lines or for political gain.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Sadly, I think Michael is right.
- 28:15Speaker 6: There is a blind spot here, and that's what's right
- 28:18Speaker 6: and what's wrong. This is a very sad day. We
- 28:22Speaker 6: have turned our back. We've decided not to stand beside
- 28:25Speaker 6: Israel whilst it is facing an incredible threat.
- 28:29Speaker 1: That's bad enough.
- 28:30Speaker 6: We've also departed from the stance of our closest ally,
- 28:34Speaker 6: the United States on this one. And as was pointed out,
- 28:37Speaker 6: Joe Biden did the right thing, said the right thing.
- 28:40Speaker 1: We should be.
- 28:40Speaker 6: Able to stand with Israel while it dismantles the military
- 28:44Speaker 6: apparatus that is currently firing missiles on it as we speak.
- 28:48Speaker 6: No doubt there was missiles being fired, Andrew, during my
- 28:52Speaker 6: trip to Israel from that northern border. This has been
- 28:56Speaker 6: a constant issue for the Israelis.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 29:01Speaker 6: Why this Albanezi government can't see that the right thing
- 29:05Speaker 6: to do, the right thing to do at this point
- 29:07Speaker 6: in time is stand beside our Israeli allies.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It's it's just I find it profoundly shocking. But let's
- 29:15Speaker 2: switch the Albanize of government's screen energy plans. Will talk
- 29:19Speaker 2: about something also totally irrational, totally damaging to the national interests,
- 29:25Speaker 2: their energy plans. Michael Costs just getting into worse, worse strife.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Energy Mister Chris Bowen has got new emission standards, as
- 29:31Speaker 2: you know, the forces to buy more electric cars, just
- 29:34Speaker 2: when one went up in flames in Melbourne yesterday, destroyed
- 29:37Speaker 2: the garage, blamed on a bad charger. In the US
- 29:40Speaker 2: and other electric car tesla went up in flames after
- 29:43Speaker 2: getting flood in the hurricane there. The governor of Florida's
- 29:46Speaker 2: residents actually, if you expect a flood or a taclone,
- 29:50Speaker 2: go and park your car on a hill. And now
- 29:53Speaker 2: the head of the NRMA here back in Australia, it
- 29:56Speaker 2: says you've got to check ev batteries in roadworthy tests,
- 29:59Speaker 2: even though we're told so there's only been six electric
- 30:02Speaker 2: vehicle car fires here, which might explain by Bowen is
- 30:05Speaker 2: having to give up his target of having electric cars
- 30:07Speaker 2: making up eighty nine percent of a new car sales
- 30:09Speaker 2: of just six years from now. I mean, Michael, everywhere
- 30:13Speaker 2: you look, Chris bones, green schemes are a disaster.
- 30:19Speaker 10: They are a complete disaster. And let's be clear here.
- 30:24Speaker 10: Evs are not green. Let's let's make the fundamental point
- 30:28Speaker 10: that's being missed in all this virtue signaling. When you
- 30:30Speaker 10: manufacture one of these things, particularly the batteries, that's completely ungreen.
- 30:35Speaker 10: The only time these vehicles have any green component to
- 30:39Speaker 10: them is when they're drawing on renewables, and we know
- 30:41Speaker 10: they don't do that all the time because they're not
- 30:43Speaker 10: a consistent source of energy. When you dispose of these things,
- 30:46Speaker 10: you've got all sorts of environmental problems with it. So
- 30:49Speaker 10: the target was ridiculous to start with. Australians are going
- 30:52Speaker 10: to resist greens, green vehicles, electric vehicles, No man of
- 30:57Speaker 10: subsidies is going to compensate for their inconvenience, and they're
- 31:00Speaker 10: in practicality and another Bowen disaster and we're seeing them
- 31:04Speaker 10: all over the place.
- 31:07Speaker 2: We sure are garth. I mean, this never made sense.
- 31:11Speaker 2: It seemed impossible, and as Michael pointed out, I mean
- 31:17Speaker 2: you're hooking up these electric cars to assist them. That
- 31:20Speaker 2: runs predominantly on colon gas anyway.
- 31:25Speaker 6: And we'll continue to run on coal and gas for
- 31:28Speaker 6: quite some time. Looked labor Green and the teals all
- 31:31Speaker 6: together just seem obsessed with telling Australians what to do.
- 31:35Speaker 6: I don't think Australians take too kindly to being told
- 31:37Speaker 6: what type of car to buy. I was thinking about this, Andrew.
- 31:40Speaker 6: My first car was an XD Falcon. It was about
- 31:42Speaker 6: sixteen years old by the time I got it. As
- 31:45Speaker 6: big boxy Falcon if you remember, the type looked like
- 31:48Speaker 6: a cardboard box. I didn't get it because the way
- 31:50Speaker 6: it looked or anything about it. I got it because
- 31:52Speaker 6: of what I could afford. And in a cost of
- 31:54Speaker 6: living crisis, for a government's focus to be on forcing
- 31:58Speaker 6: one type of vehicle, a more expensive type of vehicle,
- 32:02Speaker 6: by the way, on Australians is absolutely out of touch
- 32:05Speaker 6: with what most people are going through. We should be
- 32:07Speaker 6: supporting Australians and the choices that they make right across
- 32:10Speaker 6: the board, particularly in this selection of cars.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Absolutely, Marchel cosa running out of tun But I've got
- 32:18Speaker 2: to ask you quickly about this. The AVEDIZI government did
- 32:21Speaker 2: have good news today. From now on, people on the
- 32:24Speaker 2: National Disability Insurance Scheme won't be able to get taxpays
- 32:27Speaker 2: to pay for prostitutes, cutle therapy, cruisers, chamaic healing, aroma therapy,
- 32:34Speaker 2: tarot cars, clearvoyance, among many other things. But reading this list,
- 32:39Speaker 2: I have to ask, Michael, why do tax pays ever
- 32:42Speaker 2: have to pay for that kind of stuff?
- 32:45Speaker 10: Absolutely the right question. Shonky treatments from a shonky system.
- 32:50Speaker 10: Let's be clear, this is not the worst part of
- 32:52Speaker 10: this system. And the government's focused on the fraud and
- 32:55Speaker 10: now we're focusing on the shonky treatments. But the inefficiencies
- 32:59Speaker 10: is what's killing this system. You know, I have a
- 33:02Speaker 10: personal experience from people that have gone into these schemes,
- 33:05Speaker 10: and the management fees are astronomical thirty forty percent of
- 33:09Speaker 10: the package. And you've got tradings, you know, hard to
- 33:13Speaker 10: get now because they're all chasing NDS dollars because there's
- 33:16Speaker 10: so much money in it. So you've got inefficiency, broad
- 33:19Speaker 10: and inappropriate policies. The whole scheme should be scrapped and
- 33:22Speaker 10: started again.
- 33:23Speaker 2: It's so true when you think of the real need
- 33:27Speaker 2: that needs to be addressed there, Garth Hamilton, Michael Costa,
- 33:30Speaker 2: thank you very much for your time. After the break
- 33:33Speaker 2: the debate, debarkle of Kamala Harris's running mate.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Caught out laying and I'm a knuckleheader. Well, this disaster
- 33:44Speaker 1: helped get Donald Trump collected.
- 33:50Speaker 2: That's a mouthwards of the debate between Donald Trump and
- 33:52Speaker 2: Kamala Harris where Trump had to fight both Harris and
- 33:54Speaker 2: the two moderators.
- 33:55Speaker 1: This morning.
- 33:56Speaker 2: It was a turn of their running mates and Trump's
- 33:59Speaker 2: guy JD. Events, Tora Pott. Harris is one Michigan governor
- 34:03Speaker 2: Tim Wolves. I'll show you some highlights. Well started nervously
- 34:07Speaker 2: when asked what him do if Israel struck back and
- 34:11Speaker 2: he ran, and he gave just biography and blead.
- 34:15Speaker 11: Would you support or oppose a pre emptive strike by
- 34:19Speaker 11: Israel on Iran? You have two minutes.
- 34:22Speaker 12: Well, thank you and thank you for those joining you
- 34:23Speaker 12: home tonight. Let's keep in mind where that started. October seventh,
- 34:28Speaker 12: Homosh terrorists massacred over fourteen hundred Israelis and took prisoners.
- 34:34Speaker 12: I ran our Israel's ability to be able to defend
- 34:38Speaker 12: itself as absolutely fundamental getting its hostages back fundamental and
- 34:43Speaker 12: ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Jdi Vance also then gave biography. Wolves was talking later
- 34:54Speaker 2: in that answer about his middle class upbringing. Vance Trump
- 34:57Speaker 2: didn he grew up much poorer. This did answer the
- 35:01Speaker 2: question he would back Israel.
- 35:04Speaker 13: I was raised in a working class family. My mother
- 35:06Speaker 13: required food assistants for periods of her life. My grandmother
- 35:09Speaker 13: required social Security help to raise me, and she raised
- 35:12Speaker 13: me in part because my own mother struggled with addiction.
- 35:14Speaker 13: It is up to Israel what they think they need
- 35:17Speaker 13: to do to keep their country safe, and we should
- 35:19Speaker 13: support our allies wherever they are when they're fighting the
- 35:22Speaker 13: bad guys.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Vance naturally owned the debate over the millions of legal
- 35:26Speaker 2: immigrants slid in and the Vice president Kamala Harris, who
- 35:30Speaker 2: supposedly the board it's are and ask the knockout question
- 35:34Speaker 2: when will's told about all the good things Kamala Harris
- 35:37Speaker 2: would now give voters if only she was made president.
- 35:41Speaker 13: She's been the vice president for three and a half years.
- 35:44Speaker 13: She had the opportunity to enact all of these great policies,
- 35:47Speaker 13: and what she's actually done instead is drive the cost
- 35:51Speaker 13: of food higher by twenty five percent, drive the cost
- 35:54Speaker 13: of housing higher by about sixty percent, open the American
- 35:58Speaker 13: southern border, and make middle class life unaffordable for a
- 36:01Speaker 13: large number of Americans. If Kamala Harris has such great
- 36:04Speaker 13: plans for how to address middle class problems, then she
- 36:07Speaker 13: ought to do them now.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Then we'll totally fell apart when he was confronted with
- 36:13Speaker 2: his lightest lie.
- 36:15Speaker 11: Governor Walls, you said you were in Hong Kong during
- 36:19Speaker 11: the deadly Tianamen Square protests in the spring of nineteen
- 36:22Speaker 11: eighty nine, but Minnesota Public Radio and other media outlets
- 36:26Speaker 11: are reporting that you actually didn't travel to Asia until
- 36:30Speaker 11: August of that year. Can you explain that discrepancy?
- 36:34Speaker 12: Yeah, well, and the folks out there, it didn't get
- 36:36Speaker 12: at the top of this. Look, I grew up in small,
- 36:39Speaker 12: rural Nebraska town of four hundred town that you rode
- 36:43Speaker 12: your bike with your buddies till the street lights come on,
- 36:45Speaker 12: and I'm proud of that service. I joined the National
- 36:47Speaker 12: Guard at seventeen, worked on family farms, and then I
- 36:51Speaker 12: use the GI bill to become a teacher. Look, I
- 36:54Speaker 12: will be the first to tell you I have poured
- 36:56Speaker 12: my heart into my community. I've tried to do the
- 36:58Speaker 12: best I can but not been perfect. And I'm a
- 37:01Speaker 12: knucklehead at times, but it's always been about that.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Just believe Jona means. John Hydereka, president of the Center
- 37:09Speaker 1: for American Progress and right for the wonderful Powerline blog.
- 37:14Speaker 2: John HENDEREKUA, great to see you again. What do we
- 37:16Speaker 2: learn from this debate?
- 37:19Speaker 14: Well, Andrew, I think you can look at it in
- 37:21Speaker 14: two ways. The first is really just the big picture,
- 37:24Speaker 14: which of these guys made the better impression? Because going
- 37:28Speaker 14: into this debate, neither jd Vance nor Tim Walls was
- 37:32Speaker 14: widely known to the American public, So for most people
- 37:36Speaker 14: this is probably their first look at these two guys
- 37:39Speaker 14: in action. On that level, I don't think there's any
- 37:42Speaker 14: question but that jd Vance made the better impression. He
- 37:46Speaker 14: was obviously the more able man. Frankly, he came across
- 37:50Speaker 14: as very reasonable. He was relaxed, and I think was
- 37:54Speaker 14: relating well to the television audience. Tim Walls got off
- 37:58Speaker 14: to a really horrible start. I mean, he was nervous,
- 38:01Speaker 14: he was at times virtually incoherent. He got a little
- 38:05Speaker 14: stronger as the evening went on. But in terms of impression,
- 38:09Speaker 14: I don't think there's any question that jd Vance came
- 38:12Speaker 14: off better. But the reality, Andrew, is that nobody cares
- 38:16Speaker 14: too much about the vice presidential nominee. Is the real
- 38:20Speaker 14: targets tonight were Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yes, and I think both defended their side pretty well.
- 38:28Speaker 1: I mean well defended.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Tim Mols went actually on the attack on Donald Trump
- 38:34Speaker 2: and hit all the marks on that one. But I
- 38:38Speaker 2: have to say that Jamie Vance blended the I don't
- 38:43Speaker 2: know why Donald Trump hasn't been so crispuded too. If
- 38:47Speaker 2: he said, she's been vice president for three and a
- 38:49Speaker 2: half years, you're promising all these wonderful things. Why isn't
- 38:53Speaker 2: she doing them right now? And I think what can
- 38:56Speaker 2: you say to that?
- 38:58Speaker 14: Well, you know, Jennie Vanceys basic mission was to keep
- 39:01Speaker 14: reminding the voters over and over again that whether you
- 39:04Speaker 14: want to talk about the economy, whether you want to
- 39:06Speaker 14: talk about the border, whether you want to talk about
- 39:09Speaker 14: world peace, things were much better under Donald Trump than
- 39:13Speaker 14: they have been under Kamala Harris. And I think he
- 39:16Speaker 14: did a good job of that. He kept coming back
- 39:19Speaker 14: to those themes over and over and over again. And
- 39:22Speaker 14: it's undeniable the economy was better under Donald Trump than
- 39:26Speaker 14: under the Biden Harris administration, the border was better. It
- 39:30Speaker 14: was closed. Now it's open. World peace we had it
- 39:33Speaker 14: under Donald Trump. This idea that Harris just apparently just
- 39:37Speaker 14: fell off the turnip truck.
- 39:38Speaker 15: You know, the fresh face.
- 39:40Speaker 8: Who is she?
- 39:41Speaker 15: Where's she been? You know, fresh start for America.
- 39:44Speaker 14: I mean she's she's been at the Vice president for
- 39:47Speaker 14: the last three and a half years.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Now. I found it.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Tim wils is probably his worst moment, apart from the start,
- 39:56Speaker 2: which was bad enough, was when it was pulled up
- 39:58Speaker 2: when it's a light to salive or misremembering, however you
- 40:01Speaker 2: want to characterize it about him being in Hong Kong
- 40:05Speaker 2: when Chinese soldiers were massacring students and gentlemen square. This
- 40:11Speaker 2: of course adds, you know, add to that all the
- 40:13Speaker 2: other mistakes or lies is told about having been in
- 40:19Speaker 2: active service in a war zone, completely false, inflating the.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Rank that he attained in the National Guard.
- 40:27Speaker 2: What did you make of his his reasoning, his explanation
- 40:32Speaker 2: that he was a knucklehead, very enthusiastic, trying his heart
- 40:35Speaker 2: out for the community and sometimes misspoke.
- 40:39Speaker 15: It was pathetic, Andrew.
- 40:42Speaker 14: The peak moment, if you're a Republican, was going Tim
- 40:45Speaker 14: Walls confessed to being a knucklehead. You know, I mean
- 40:49Speaker 14: it could have been a lot worse for him, because,
- 40:50Speaker 14: as you say, Andrew, he has he has told a
- 40:55Speaker 14: lot of falsehoods. He has misrepresented his own history, and
- 40:58Speaker 14: in a number of ways, all of them I would say,
- 41:01Speaker 14: more important than where he was when Tianaman Square happened.
- 41:04Speaker 14: That's actually probably his most minor misstatement, and I think
- 41:10Speaker 14: he got off very easily well.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Speaking of the moderators, John, I tore my hair out
- 41:16Speaker 2: at the last debate, the only the debate, Donald Trump
- 41:19Speaker 2: versus Kamala Harris. The moderators were so hostile, continually fact
- 41:25Speaker 2: checking Donald Trump, never fact checking the many more misstatements
- 41:29Speaker 2: made by Kamala Harris.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Again that this happened here.
- 41:33Speaker 2: These CBS moderators had promised not to fact check the
- 41:38Speaker 2: two guys in front of them, but they did nevertheless
- 41:41Speaker 2: try twice the correct JD.
- 41:43Speaker 1: E vance.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Only to his credit, he, unlike Donald Trump in his debate,
- 41:49Speaker 2: took them on and made sure they didn't.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Try it a third time.
- 41:53Speaker 2: This was after he mentioned how Harris had led in
- 41:57Speaker 2: millions of legal immigrants and thereby and those millions had
- 42:02Speaker 2: swamped some cities of it.
- 42:04Speaker 11: Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does have
- 42:08Speaker 11: a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status
- 42:13Speaker 11: temporary protected maura.
- 42:15Speaker 15: But thank you, senator.
- 42:16Speaker 11: We have so much to get to, Margaret.
- 42:18Speaker 9: I think it's important to turn out of the economy.
- 42:20Speaker 15: Thanks Margaret.
- 42:21Speaker 13: The rules were that you got to be in a
- 42:23Speaker 13: fact check, and since you're fact checking me, I think
- 42:25Speaker 13: it's important to say what's actually going on.
- 42:27Speaker 8: Thanks you, Senatoration of.
- 42:29Speaker 13: A legal immigration Margaret Bye.
- 42:31Speaker 11: Thank you senator for describing the legal process.
- 42:34Speaker 15: Have so much to get to.
- 42:36Speaker 12: The senator so much the book since nineteen ninety.
- 42:39Speaker 11: Thank you, gentlemen.
- 42:41Speaker 13: We want to have that has not been on the books.
- 42:43Speaker 8: It's something that.
- 42:46Speaker 11: Gentlemen, the audience can't hear you because your mics are cut.
- 42:50Speaker 2: John, it was extraordinary, It was extraordinary, and JB Events
- 42:55Speaker 2: absolutely showed them up. Has maybe a bus in the
- 42:57Speaker 2: US E been this is explicit? This bad, this loaded
- 43:01Speaker 2: and how will that affect the election?
- 43:05Speaker 14: I think it's been this way for a long time. Andrew,
- 43:07Speaker 14: I mean the moderators tonight. I think early on they
- 43:10Speaker 14: could see that Tim Wallas was in trouble he was
- 43:12Speaker 14: doing a poor job. He needed a helping hand, and
- 43:15Speaker 14: so they jumped in to try to give him a
- 43:17Speaker 14: helping hand. And you're absolutely right. It was important for JD.
- 43:21Speaker 14: Evans to stand up to them and rebut them so
- 43:24Speaker 14: that they didn't keep doing it, and remind them of
- 43:26Speaker 14: the rules they weren't supposed to be fact checking. We've
- 43:29Speaker 14: been seeing this for years, Andrew.
- 43:30Speaker 8: You know this.
- 43:31Speaker 14: I mean CBS, CNN, NBC, you name it. These are
- 43:37Speaker 14: Democratic Party outlets and they put their thumb on the
- 43:42Speaker 14: scale in favor of the Democrats as much as they
- 43:46Speaker 14: think they can get away with.
- 43:48Speaker 2: John Honderenka, thank you so much in d for your
- 43:50Speaker 2: time and commentating on this the craziest US election I
- 43:55Speaker 2: have ever seen.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you Andrew.
- 44:00Speaker 2: After the breakdown, missus. The ABC was yesterday accused of racism.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Now watch it overcompensate with the longest acknowledgement of traditional
- 44:07Speaker 2: learners I've ever seen in an interview with the ABC boss.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Is it being punished?
- 44:16Speaker 2: I told you last night the ABC was stupid to
- 44:18Speaker 2: commission racism experts to check it out. After pampered star
- 44:22Speaker 2: stand Grant accused of not defending him from racist abuse. Naturally,
- 44:27Speaker 2: this report concluded the ABC was full of racism and
- 44:30Speaker 2: now the ABC bosses have to jump through amazing hoops.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Here's how an interview with ABC Managing Director David Anderson
- 44:36Speaker 2: started with the knowledgeurans of country so long the direction
- 44:39Speaker 2: had to cut out.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Some of it.
- 44:42Speaker 16: Welcome jinjawalla in the language of my ancestors, the Bungelong
- 44:46Speaker 16: people of the far North Coast of New South Wales.
- 44:49Speaker 16: Thank you Managing Director David Anderson for joining us here
- 44:53Speaker 16: on this really momentous occasion. It's really significant that we
- 44:57Speaker 16: take the opportunity to step into this news space as
- 45:01Speaker 16: I would like to call it, that's been created today
- 45:03Speaker 16: in recognition of that. Just acknowledging we're here today on
- 45:06Speaker 16: Gaeigle Country, paying respects to elders past and present.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Joining me with Sophie Elsworth, media rater for the Australian. Sophie,
- 45:17Speaker 2: you know, is that how every interview in the ABC
- 45:19Speaker 2: is now going to start with the guests and the
- 45:22Speaker 2: hosts both having to give long welcomes and acknowledgments.
- 45:29Speaker 17: Well, it certainly shouldn't be, Andrew, but I don't know
- 45:31Speaker 17: how on earth they get their work done when they're
- 45:34Speaker 17: doing interviews like this and having to spend several minutes
- 45:38Speaker 17: doing all the box ticking, doing acknowledgments of country, repeating
- 45:43Speaker 17: what land they're on. This is where the ABC loses
- 45:47Speaker 17: listeners and they lose the audience. And I think many
- 45:50Speaker 17: people would see this as completely unnecessary. In that grab,
- 45:55Speaker 17: and you've only played some of it, Andrew, they reference
- 45:58Speaker 17: the indigenous lands multiple times. They were almost tripping over
- 46:03Speaker 17: themselves with the amount of references they made, and I
- 46:06Speaker 17: think it's problematic for the viewer they tune out Andrew
- 46:10Speaker 17: because they don't actually get to the point of what
- 46:12Speaker 17: David Anderson was on there for, and that was to
- 46:15Speaker 17: talk about the racism review itself.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Oh, I thought it was a bit of a flex
- 46:20Speaker 2: as well, you know, put lay a bit of a
- 46:23Speaker 2: guilt trip on the mentioned director to put him on
- 46:25Speaker 2: the back foot. I mean the whole thing to I
- 46:27Speaker 2: thought Chairman Kim Williams is not completely stupid.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I thought it was going to crack under this nonsense.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Here are some of this interview where it seems time
- 46:35Speaker 2: between corner the reporter beat up and saying how seriously
- 46:38Speaker 2: he takes it, just in case anyone starts calling him
- 46:41Speaker 2: races as well.
- 46:43Speaker 10: I don't think anyone can read a report such as
- 46:46Speaker 10: this and feel comfortable.
- 46:48Speaker 1: We need to put that in perspective.
- 46:50Speaker 9: Ally, it's one hundred and twenty people in the staff
- 46:54Speaker 9: full time and part time of four thousand and seven hundred.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Not sure what Kim Williams is trying to say there,
- 47:00Speaker 2: that it's a beat up or that there's a big problem.
- 47:03Speaker 1: What do you make of it?
- 47:07Speaker 17: Well, I think he was a bit torn there, Andrew.
- 47:09Speaker 17: But let's just remind you, as this report was commissioned
- 47:13Speaker 17: in May last year. We are now in October. It
- 47:16Speaker 17: took them seventeen months to do this. Now, in any organization,
- 47:21Speaker 17: that seems an awfully long time. They seem to be
- 47:25Speaker 17: dragging their heels on it. And then it's had all
- 47:29Speaker 17: these damning findings. I mean, they're rolling out anti racism
- 47:33Speaker 17: training in the ABC now. They have so much bureaucracy
- 47:37Speaker 17: in there, I do think, and from people I have
- 47:40Speaker 17: spoken within the ABC, at times it makes the job
- 47:43Speaker 17: difficult to do because they have to meet so many
- 47:46Speaker 17: requirements with stories, making sure they reference different cultures and genders.
- 47:52Speaker 17: It makes their jobs, I would argue, quite difficult.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Well, would you want to be a manager having to
- 47:59Speaker 2: tick off someone that identified as aboriginal or a culturally
- 48:03Speaker 2: diverse background.
- 48:07Speaker 17: Well, it just makes it complicated, Andrew. Rather than reporting
- 48:10Speaker 17: the story and doing your job at hand, you're having
- 48:13Speaker 17: to go through these hoops to tick certain boxes. And
- 48:17Speaker 17: I think the ABC now has to go down the
- 48:20Speaker 17: road of implementing these fifteen recommendations. Some of them are
- 48:24Speaker 17: quite detailed, so there's an awful lot of work ahead
- 48:27Speaker 17: of them.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Oh, the penalty of being woken. Meanwhile, Anthony Alberinezi was
- 48:32Speaker 2: wearing his ABC socks today in supportive I don't know
- 48:36Speaker 2: quite what, maybe ABC racism. I don't know, Lovely to
- 48:39Speaker 2: speak to you, Sophie.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 48:42Speaker 2: That's it from me, coming up now, Sherry Markson, good
- 48:45Speaker 2: Night
