- 3:11Speaker 3: sponsored by Almost heaving in tears ANGI, good morning and
- 3:14Speaker 3: welcome to the show.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Good morning. I'm happy to be a here.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Lots going on. Have you had an opportunity to take
- 3:20Speaker 3: in the USA Biking event in Charleston at all?
- 3:24Speaker 5: I have not because we have been way too busy
- 3:27Speaker 5: with the amount of animals we're caring for.
- 3:29Speaker 3: And I want to talk about that a little bit
- 3:31Speaker 3: later on, but I do want to get to our
- 3:33Speaker 3: pet of the week first. As always, picture posted Dave
- 3:36Speaker 3: Allen Radio on Facebook and the WCCHS Network Facebook page,
- 3:40Speaker 3: as well as at Dave eight seventy on X tell
- 3:42Speaker 3: us about Riilo? Is am I pronouncing that right? And
- 3:45Speaker 3: where does the name come from? Anytime I hear one
- 3:49Speaker 3: of these names, I always refer to you or I
- 3:51Speaker 3: look to the glass of producer Ryan to see got
- 3:53Speaker 3: anything on Rylo from your world. Okay, he doesn't know it.
- 3:57Speaker 3: It's an interesting name, though. Rilo is the dog. Tell
- 3:59Speaker 3: us all about Rylo.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Uh So, he came to kha as astray. He's about
- 4:04Speaker 5: four years old. He is already neutered and up to
- 4:07Speaker 5: date on his vaccines. He plays best with female dogs.
- 4:12Speaker 5: He's not really a guys guy. He really likes two eighties.
- 4:16Speaker 5: He is housebroken, and we would probably advise a home
- 4:19Speaker 5: with older children ten and up just because he is.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Uh he does have some of those stranger danger qualities
- 4:25Speaker 5: where he's not a big fan of you know, a
- 4:27Speaker 5: lot of loud noises and people coming in all that.
- 4:31Speaker 5: But he is an excellent dog. And like I said,
- 4:33Speaker 5: his adoptions he has been sponsored. He's zero dollars to
- 4:36Speaker 5: take home.
- 4:37Speaker 3: And just because you say that he's not a fan of,
- 4:40Speaker 3: you know, maybe necessarily loud noises or things that. And
- 4:42Speaker 3: it doesn't mean he's a bad dog. You're just you're
- 4:44Speaker 3: just kind of warning people that. And look, you can
- 4:47Speaker 3: put him with a young kid and he may be
- 4:49Speaker 3: just fine, but just to be on the safe side,
- 4:50Speaker 3: or maybe maybe you know, bring if you have a child,
- 4:53Speaker 3: bring your child up there, and you know, kind of
- 4:55Speaker 3: kind of test it out a little bit.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, you know, we the or the behavior that
- 5:01Speaker 5: he has may change in a different environment. The shelter
- 5:04Speaker 5: is pretty loud and noisy, yes, yeah, not the place
- 5:07Speaker 5: that dogs really thrive, if you will, So all of
- 5:11Speaker 5: these things may change in a home environment. He may
- 5:14Speaker 5: love kids, and he may you know, love every dog
- 5:17Speaker 5: he sees. But those are the things we know now.
- 5:20Speaker 5: So if you are thinking about Rylo and you want to,
- 5:24Speaker 5: you know, kind of ask questions about your home life
- 5:28Speaker 5: with him, we are absolutely happy to do meet and
- 5:31Speaker 5: greets and you know, walk you through how that should look.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And we'll talk about Rylo a little bit later on again.
- 5:36Speaker 3: If you want to see his picture, go over to
- 5:38Speaker 3: Dave Allan Radio on Facebook or had Dave a seventy
- 5:40Speaker 3: on x also in the WCHS network Facebook page. You
- 5:44Speaker 3: got some good and some not.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Well.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Don't want to say bad news this week, Angie, because
- 5:49Speaker 3: let's start with the good news. But it's created a
- 5:51Speaker 3: little bit of a problem, but we'll get through it.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Talk about the good news you got this week. You
- 5:54Speaker 3: got a new veterinarian coming to the shelter.
- 5:57Speaker 5: We do have a new veterinarian. She will be starting soon.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I won't share her name or anything just yet until
- 6:05Speaker 5: she gets a formal introduction, but we're super excited she
- 6:08Speaker 5: should be starting. I think it was mid or late July,
- 6:13Speaker 5: so that is really exciting. Fix Charleston, our low cost
- 6:15Speaker 5: spay neuter clinic is going to be operational again. So
- 6:19Speaker 5: we're very excited to number one, have her join our staff,
- 6:23Speaker 5: but also get back to helping spae and neuter and
- 6:27Speaker 5: vaccinate the community animals that need our help, that already
- 6:30Speaker 5: have a place to call home, but you know, just
- 6:33Speaker 5: need that extra help with SPAE, nooter, vaccines, medicines, things
- 6:37Speaker 5: like that.
- 6:38Speaker 3: All right, So that's the good news. And again the
- 6:40Speaker 3: other news is, I guess I don't want to say
- 6:42Speaker 3: it's a good problem to have. I'll let you explain it.
- 6:44Speaker 3: But you know you're gonna have some over crowding issues.
- 6:47Speaker 7: Now.
- 6:47Speaker 3: You already have over crowding issues, Now you can have
- 6:49Speaker 3: more over crowding issues.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yes. So I've worked at the shelter for about seven years.
- 6:55Speaker 5: The number of animals that we're caring for right now
- 6:58Speaker 5: is the highest I have seen in that seven year period.
- 7:01Speaker 5: We're about twenty to twenty five animals away from hitting
- 7:05Speaker 5: six hundred animals in our care, which is an insane amount.
- 7:11Speaker 5: And we have been using our fixed Charleston kennels as
- 7:14Speaker 5: an overflow space for these dogs that need us, that
- 7:17Speaker 5: need to come in. But with six Charleston opening back up,
- 7:22Speaker 5: and you know the public animals needing those kennels while
- 7:26Speaker 5: they're there for surgery or what have you, that means
- 7:30Speaker 5: the animal shelter kseha, we cannot use those overflow kennels.
- 7:35Speaker 5: So right now, I think les yesterday we had about
- 7:37Speaker 5: eleven dogs in those overflow kennels, so you could say
- 7:41Speaker 5: we're technically negative eleven on spacing for dogs.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And I know that you put them in offices and
- 7:47Speaker 3: the ones that can can be in those environments of course,
- 7:49Speaker 3: and you guys over the years have put them a
- 7:52Speaker 3: lot of different places up there.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Yeah, so anywhere that a dog can safely live, we
- 7:57Speaker 5: will put them. We have, you know, dogs living in
- 8:00Speaker 5: bathrooms our offices. Like you said, we actually also have
- 8:04Speaker 5: a dog. He is a smaller dog, so it's not
- 8:06Speaker 5: a huge issue, but he is living in a pop
- 8:09Speaker 5: up crate, which is just you know, typical dog crate
- 8:12Speaker 5: you put your dog in when you go to work.
- 8:14Speaker 5: He's living in one of those because we have no
- 8:16Speaker 5: kennel for.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Him right well, and you know, obviously we want to
- 8:18Speaker 3: get some of these animals adopted, Angie, but just doing
- 8:21Speaker 3: some fostering would help you guys out a little bit too.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, so fostering is a great way to help
- 8:28Speaker 5: us without you know, getting that tenure commitment to the
- 8:30Speaker 5: animal that you're taking home. Fostering is very short term
- 8:34Speaker 5: if you want it to be, and we get a
- 8:36Speaker 5: lot of information of how they are in a home,
- 8:38Speaker 5: which in turn, can you know, catch somebody's eye that
- 8:42Speaker 5: you know, this dog is confirmed good with cat's kids
- 8:45Speaker 5: and other dogs. He came to my house. I know
- 8:47Speaker 5: that that can catch the eye of an adopter.
- 8:49Speaker 3: And that's where you get that information from because as
- 8:51Speaker 3: you said before, so it's really hard for you folks
- 8:54Speaker 3: to be able to tell the personality of an animal
- 8:56Speaker 3: when they're at the shelter, you know, I mean, And
- 9:00Speaker 3: so when they get into somebody's home or apartment or
- 9:03Speaker 3: whatever and they get to you know, go out in
- 9:05Speaker 3: the yard or whatever, their personalities, Angie, are totally going
- 9:08Speaker 3: to change.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, they one hundred percent.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Are you have an overabundance of cats too, right.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yeah, so cats we the cats are I've.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Got her flustered already.
- 9:23Speaker 5: Yeah, the cats are typically not a huge issue. They
- 9:26Speaker 5: get it offted very quickly. Okay, we have cats literally
- 9:30Speaker 5: everywhere in our building, which is again the first time
- 9:32Speaker 5: I've seen that of every single place to put cats
- 9:35Speaker 5: is full. Plus there are hundreds more out in foster care.
- 9:39Speaker 5: So and then there were some dropped in a crate
- 9:41Speaker 5: this morning when we got to the shelter. So it's
- 9:43Speaker 5: just a never ending cycle for us with cats, other.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Than fostering an adoption. What are you folks in need
- 9:49Speaker 3: of right now as far as supplies go, because I
- 9:51Speaker 3: know you know, with all this over abundance of animals
- 9:53Speaker 3: that you're that you've got there, you're going to have
- 9:55Speaker 3: a lot of needs from the cleaning supplies and the
- 9:58Speaker 3: foods and so on and so forth. Is there any
- 10:00Speaker 3: certain thing right now?
- 10:02Speaker 5: Right now, we have a lot of mouths to feed,
- 10:05Speaker 5: So any type of purina dry food product, any type
- 10:08Speaker 5: of wet food for cats or dogs. It can be
- 10:11Speaker 5: any brand, We're not picky. And then we're always going
- 10:14Speaker 5: to need cleaning supplies such as laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid,
- 10:18Speaker 5: paper towels. If you can clean less, it will take it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: You guys out anywhere this weekend.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Tonight, we're actually going to be at Hagey's Irish Pub
- 10:26Speaker 5: downtown there from five to seven pm.
- 10:29Speaker 3: All right, So if you're going to be out at
- 10:31Speaker 3: about it and everybody is between Live on the Levee
- 10:33Speaker 3: and the racing and everything going on Charleston, go to
- 10:36Speaker 3: Hagey's Irish Pub. So you'll be down there, you know,
- 10:39Speaker 3: I mean with some animals. I should say, well, I
- 10:42Speaker 3: mean you got the animals that bar there with you, right,
- 10:43Speaker 3: I mean they can just order order up a stout
- 10:45Speaker 3: or something, right. We don't recommend that. A couple of
- 10:49Speaker 3: texts for you, text Angie, is there any info on
- 10:52Speaker 3: the dogs that were left in the apartments while their
- 10:54Speaker 3: owner was in jail for a week.
- 10:58Speaker 5: There? What's funny about that? There's a couple different situations
- 11:02Speaker 5: that are that. I'm not sure which particular situation they
- 11:07Speaker 5: are referring to. However, I know all of the groups
- 11:11Speaker 5: that came in like that are still at the shelter.
- 11:13Speaker 5: We do have to hold them on a mandatory hold,
- 11:16Speaker 5: and then once that holds up they can be placed
- 11:18Speaker 5: available for adoption. So as of right now they are
- 11:21Speaker 5: still on their mandatory hold, but will be available soon
- 11:24Speaker 5: if no one comes.
- 11:25Speaker 8: To get them.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Text once to know are there any updates on the
- 11:28Speaker 3: status of a new shelter.
- 11:30Speaker 5: So we are in the works. That is officially going
- 11:34Speaker 5: to launch here soon. You can see the details for that,
- 11:37Speaker 5: I'm sure probably everywhere once it does launch. But the
- 11:40Speaker 5: new shelter will be happening, but we will need the
- 11:42Speaker 5: community support to make that happen.
- 11:44Speaker 8: All right.
- 11:45Speaker 3: In the final text for you says that they suggest
- 11:47Speaker 3: getting with the school board or with the County Commission,
- 11:50Speaker 3: possibly getting some of those portable classrooms that are not
- 11:52Speaker 3: being used.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Yeah, that could be a possibility. However, I am not
- 11:58Speaker 5: sure where we would put it on our property because
- 12:01Speaker 5: if it's not a flood zone, then it's a space
- 12:03Speaker 5: that absolutely is necessary for the public to use for parking.
- 12:07Speaker 5: So but I can mention that and we can try
- 12:09Speaker 5: to work something out as we always do.
- 12:11Speaker 3: So all right, Angie, I appreciate it, and we'll talk
- 12:14Speaker 3: again next week. Thanks a lot.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, thank you, Angie.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Gillingwater Canal Charleston. You made association with this week's Adopt
- 12:20Speaker 3: Me Please Pet of the Week. Rilo is his name.

- 12:28Speaker 3: Dave a seventy one X. Rilo is around seventy pounds.
- 12:32Speaker 3: He's neutered, he's housebroken. We'd probably do best with female dogs,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and around four years old, so he's a beautiful dog.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Go take a look at his picture. Better yet, adopt

- 16:09Speaker 3: Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. Look who's here.
- 16:12Speaker 3: It's not Jim Strawn in this place, it's Metro News
- 16:15Speaker 3: mediaologist Brian Hughes to talk about Live on the Levee.
- 16:18Speaker 13: Well, the river came up at uh at the levee
- 16:20Speaker 13: of the other day, and all that we found left
- 16:23Speaker 13: over was a microphone.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Jim Strong was gone, He's please don't say that strawn
- 16:30Speaker 3: is he?
- 16:31Speaker 2: He gets it? He likes that joke.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, the only thing. The only thing was a
- 16:36Speaker 3: microphone and some hair jail where the fish can't live anymore.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And it seemed like there was there was spray tan
- 16:42Speaker 3: that was everywhere. The fish came up looking like George
- 16:46Speaker 3: Hamilton singing and dancing. Hold on, it's better than algae
- 16:51Speaker 3: in the reflecting pond. We just turned this into like
- 16:57Speaker 3: open mic night. Joe Meadows, who's not supposed to go
- 16:59Speaker 3: on ten o six, is in here hanging out with
- 17:01Speaker 3: us as well. All right, Live on the Levee is
- 17:03Speaker 3: and I've been I mentioned this earlier. First of all,
- 17:05Speaker 3: are we are we clear from the nasty weather?
- 17:08Speaker 7: Uesed?
- 17:08Speaker 2: Yes, we're clear, We're good, go nothing to worry about everything.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Bad day here inst Virginia. A lot of place not
- 17:13Speaker 3: as bad as what it coululd have been worse. Yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 3: but it was in some areas. It's really not so
- 17:17Speaker 3: much in the Kanaw Valley, but other areas of the
- 17:19Speaker 3: state right southern west Virginia on places like Calhoun County,
- 17:23Speaker 3: some of those places got hit really hard on into
- 17:25Speaker 3: Ohio as well.
- 17:26Speaker 13: Yeah, you could draw a line from Point Pleasant to
- 17:28Speaker 13: Kaiser and you just side that line about forty fifty
- 17:31Speaker 13: miles was there was some pretty nasty weather there, and
- 17:35Speaker 13: then of course, of course cross parts of Logan County
- 17:38Speaker 13: and then down into Riley County. But hey, today the
- 17:42Speaker 13: sun is breaking out from those clouds and mostly sunny afternoon.
- 17:45Speaker 7: Coy.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Now, I mean that video that I shared, and I
- 17:48Speaker 3: think it's in the Metro new story from yesterday, I
- 17:50Speaker 3: put it on on my page as well, in front
- 17:52Speaker 3: of the radio station where I worked for twenty years
- 17:54Speaker 3: in Logan. I mean, you're used to seeing things flying
- 17:56Speaker 3: around like that in certain areas, but you're not used
- 17:58Speaker 3: to just seeing things flying down main Street like it
- 18:00Speaker 3: was yesterday.
- 18:02Speaker 13: Even main Street was like, noah, we're donating trash cans
- 18:05Speaker 13: down down the fourth Avenue.
- 18:07Speaker 5: You know.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I mean, you know, some of the businesses in Logan
- 18:10Speaker 3: are probably thinking, you know, what, what exactly was going
- 18:12Speaker 3: on here? We didn't have this on our on our
- 18:14Speaker 3: on our Bengo card. No, and there's some really interesting
- 18:17Speaker 3: strange businesses in Logan to have been in the.
- 18:19Speaker 13: Past, right, I mean, listen, what happened was that was
- 18:22Speaker 13: a Freedom Fest clean up?
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yeah, well as a start, oh, getting ready for the freak,
- 18:26Speaker 3: getting ready for the Yeah.
- 18:27Speaker 13: Everybody Mother nature was like, we need to clean this
- 18:29Speaker 13: place up a little bit, all right.
- 18:31Speaker 3: So all right, So there's so much going on.
- 18:33Speaker 6: I know.
- 18:33Speaker 3: V one hundred I think, And if I'm wrong about this,
- 18:35Speaker 3: you can correct me. I'm trying to keep all of
- 18:37Speaker 3: our schedules straight. The next Coupleana it's V one hundred
- 18:39Speaker 3: is going to be at Shiney tonight for the movie night,
- 18:40Speaker 3: that is correct. The Juneteenth Parade is going on in
- 18:44Speaker 3: uh in Charleston. All the other stuff with that at
- 18:46Speaker 3: Slack Plaza of course. Uh you know, the bikes tomorrow tour,
- 18:51Speaker 3: the Cole and Yakfest, the North South Baseball game. I'm sorry,
- 18:55Speaker 3: the basketball games are tonight. Football games will be tomorrow,
- 18:58Speaker 3: the garden party with the West Regi News call of
- 19:00Speaker 3: Famous Sunday at the South Charleston Farmers Market. Man, it
- 19:03Speaker 3: is a lot.
- 19:04Speaker 2: It is gonna be a lot.
- 19:06Speaker 13: I mean I left downtown this morning to run my
- 19:09Speaker 13: doctor's office because I have led poisoning, which.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Is, of course, you're right, who has it these days?
- 19:16Speaker 8: I do?
- 19:17Speaker 3: But I ran, I ran down there. What's next scurvy? Right, Ricketts?
- 19:24Speaker 3: If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen to Brian here.
- 19:26Speaker 14: Right.
- 19:26Speaker 13: Even my doctor said the same thing. You come in
- 19:29Speaker 13: with the weirdest crap at the end.
- 19:30Speaker 8: Of this office.
- 19:32Speaker 3: You've got he's got a misplaced doppler, strained his doppler.
- 19:36Speaker 2: But no, I left town.
- 19:38Speaker 13: I left downtown, and I tried to get back to
- 19:40Speaker 13: the radio station, and I just ran a block to
- 19:43Speaker 13: make sure I could get here on time.
- 19:45Speaker 2: So yeah, it's that's the thing.
- 19:48Speaker 13: What what Matt has said, what I've said, Matt Sutton, uh,
- 19:53Speaker 13: is that if you say there's nothing to do, you're crazy.
- 19:56Speaker 3: And just know that that in downtown Charleston today, it
- 19:59Speaker 3: is going to be difficult to get around some of
- 20:02Speaker 3: the I guess the first any positive too, well, there
- 20:05Speaker 3: is a lot of positive positive, but a lot of positive.
- 20:07Speaker 3: What I was gonna say was, if there's any saving grace,
- 20:09Speaker 3: maybe it's one of my awards, say that A lot
- 20:11Speaker 3: of people aren't working today because of Juneteenth or the
- 20:14Speaker 3: West or West Virginia Day, because some places are observing
- 20:17Speaker 3: West Virginia Day, which is tomorrow. They're observing this day
- 20:20Speaker 3: today as a federal holiday with June teenth, so there's
- 20:24Speaker 3: not as many bodies trying to get to work as
- 20:27Speaker 3: what I'm trying to say is what they're normally.
- 20:28Speaker 13: And they're taking advantage of this for the bike races today,
- 20:33Speaker 13: but for this evening Moses Auto Group Live in the
- 20:36Speaker 13: Levee is happening. It's going to be awesome with talib quality.
- 20:41Speaker 13: He's taking the show him by the stage now. Just
- 20:43Speaker 13: so you know, I was talking to Woody Woods about
- 20:47Speaker 13: this and he said that he's part of Black Star,
- 20:50Speaker 13: which is a duo with most Steff So and by
- 20:54Speaker 13: the way, because I am a good guy, I said,
- 20:57Speaker 13: how do you say his name?
- 21:01Speaker 3: So there you go. There he gets straight.
- 21:03Speaker 13: From what he was, Straight from what he was, I said,
- 21:05Speaker 13: I said, I want to make sure I get this right,
- 21:07Speaker 13: but let me tell you something.
- 21:08Speaker 2: He is what he said.
- 21:09Speaker 13: He said, it's going to be rocking down the stage tonight,
- 21:12Speaker 13: so he's gonna be there with Jordan Dryer Trio, the
- 21:15Speaker 13: Jordan Dryer Trio, which is going to be opening up
- 21:17Speaker 13: the evening That music kicks off at six point thirty
- 21:20Speaker 13: Head Whin I are taking the stage at eight pm.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:22Speaker 13: Now, obviously Live in the Levee is going to be
- 21:24Speaker 13: a little hampered on the food stuff, but yues because
- 21:27Speaker 13: the food trucks can't be up with the boulevard grease
- 21:29Speaker 13: all that can here. There are a number of things
- 21:31Speaker 13: you have to think about, but we're not We're not
- 21:34Speaker 13: worried about that because gas what there's rolls on the
- 21:36Speaker 13: river and that's going to be happening down here.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I don't even mention that, right, and that is from
- 21:42Speaker 2: five to nine.
- 21:43Speaker 13: So down here it's going to be between Court Street
- 21:46Speaker 13: and Clinton and so in front c Energy you've got
- 21:51Speaker 13: the law firm there as well as the County Court
- 21:53Speaker 13: has all that. I mean, Pepperoni rolls like crazy. Now,
- 21:57Speaker 13: are they going to be the Tony the Taylor version
- 22:00Speaker 13: or are.
- 22:00Speaker 3: They gonna be don't get Parentzino started about that, right
- 22:04Speaker 3: because in the eyes of Tony, stickup pepperone stick of
- 22:08Speaker 3: pepperoni with no cheese. Is that's the only kind of
- 22:11Speaker 3: pepperoni roll that is legit. In the eyes of Tony
- 22:13Speaker 3: but Derek.
- 22:14Speaker 13: But so he is going to be offended in a
- 22:17Speaker 13: number of instances. But people have their own variety of
- 22:20Speaker 13: what's a pepperoni role?
- 22:21Speaker 3: But as he says, don't call it pepperoni roll right,
- 22:23Speaker 3: you call it a nice little strombolding. Yeah, that's what
- 22:26Speaker 3: he says.
- 22:27Speaker 2: But rolls in the river's going to be happening. That's
- 22:29Speaker 2: from five to nine.
- 22:30Speaker 13: So there's gonna be all kinds of you know, West
- 22:33Speaker 13: Virginia centric food that's going to be happening.
- 22:35Speaker 2: That's gonna be awesome.
- 22:36Speaker 13: And the uhh, the fifty to fifty drawing is going
- 22:39Speaker 13: to be happening as well, and it benefits the Cana
- 22:42Speaker 13: Valley Collective. You have, the juneteens have obviously the USA
- 22:47Speaker 13: pro cycling miles from mines. And then get ready for
- 22:50Speaker 13: the rest of the weekend. Saturday's gonna be awesome. Sunday's
- 22:53Speaker 13: gonna be really awesome. That road race on that day,
- 22:56Speaker 13: what's up at Bridge Road Shops gonna be a fun,
- 22:58Speaker 13: fun time.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Now, I guess yesterday evening, depending on where you lived,
- 23:01Speaker 3: there were some showers that popped up a little bit.
- 23:04Speaker 3: I was not in downtown Charleston last night, but had
- 23:06Speaker 3: so did was the raining down there?
- 23:08Speaker 13: Yeah, week we had a few showers, but I mean
- 23:10Speaker 13: it's it showered like twice, I would say. And I
- 23:14Speaker 13: was at Maggie who was working the camera on there
- 23:17Speaker 13: at Hell Street on the on the Flow Sports broadcast yesterday,
- 23:22Speaker 13: and and she put the camera gear rain gear on it,
- 23:25Speaker 13: and she was like, I almost didn't need it, but
- 23:29Speaker 13: because that's the kind of shower it was. But we
- 23:31Speaker 13: had a couple of those. It was a great time
- 23:33Speaker 13: last night, great great time.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I saw the pictures. I mean, I was an event.
- 23:37Speaker 3: By the way. I wanna give a big shout off
- 23:38Speaker 3: to the folks at Randolph Engineering in Putnam County. They
- 23:40Speaker 3: had their fiftieth celebration last night fore year, fifty years
- 23:43Speaker 3: in business. Last night, a little event there with the
- 23:45Speaker 3: Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Give a big shout out
- 23:47Speaker 3: to Grace and the fine folks at Randolph Engineering. They
- 23:49Speaker 3: are fine, fine people there.
- 23:51Speaker 13: Well they're all all good folks by the way. But listen,
- 23:54Speaker 13: it was a great time last night. Just had a
- 23:56Speaker 13: couple of showers which really just kept the temperature in check.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Really nice.
- 24:00Speaker 13: I can't wait for Criteria next year again because it's
- 24:02Speaker 13: gonna be awesome.
- 24:03Speaker 2: But I you have ntrol fireworks coming up.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the next segment we'll talking about the about
- 24:08Speaker 3: nitro fireworks.
- 24:09Speaker 13: I want to make one note about that, yeah, and
- 24:11Speaker 13: that is they have such good fireworks that the US
- 24:14Speaker 13: Coast Guard thought that the fireworks I was blowing off
- 24:17Speaker 13: of my boat on Christmas, they thought they were commercial fireworks.
- 24:21Speaker 13: They were so good, and they yelled on the radio
- 24:24Speaker 13: to cease and desist. This was not part of the permit.
- 24:26Speaker 13: And I looked back and I went, boys, blow them
- 24:29Speaker 13: all over right now, and we gave them a show.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And that's how you got lead boys. Yeah, yeah, that
- 24:34Speaker 3: was not how you.
- 24:34Speaker 8: Got lead boys.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But but that's how good.
- 24:37Speaker 13: But what I'm saying is that's how good their fireworks are.
- 24:39Speaker 13: That's a coast guard thought they were commercial grade fireworks.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Good stuff there. And again I'll tell people if you
- 24:46Speaker 3: are coming to Charleston today for any of these events,
- 24:48Speaker 3: or if you're planning on coming to do shopping whatever,
- 24:51Speaker 3: just be patient and patient but fun because there are
- 24:55Speaker 3: a lot of closures and a lot of you know,
- 24:59Speaker 3: back roads, take kings and stuff like that. So I
- 25:01Speaker 3: just want to make sure people know that.
- 25:03Speaker 13: I drove through alleys that I have never driven through
- 25:06Speaker 13: today to get here.
- 25:07Speaker 3: So have you been in Charleston for some time so
- 25:11Speaker 3: you've learned fourteen.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Years, I've listened.
- 25:13Speaker 13: I've been been through a lot of alleys in Charleston,
- 25:16Speaker 13: but I have not been to some of those alleys
- 25:18Speaker 13: I just drove through today.
- 25:19Speaker 3: All right, Brian Hughes live on the levee tonight. Now
- 25:22Speaker 3: there's the beat going to be there tonight.
- 25:23Speaker 2: It's going to be there, one of those seven three
- 25:24Speaker 2: of the beats.
- 25:25Speaker 3: All right, it's going to be there tonight.
- 25:27Speaker 2: He pops and throwbacks.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yeah. And so I mean we're everywhere of the next
- 25:31Speaker 3: couple of days, and it's come between all the stations.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I mean we're I think we're places this morning. I
- 25:35Speaker 3: think as a matter of fact.
- 25:36Speaker 13: Actually that's where what he's out doing stuff right now. Yeah,
- 25:39Speaker 13: that's why he couldn't be here to do this. So
- 25:42Speaker 13: they sent one of the wider guys in to do this.
- 25:45Speaker 13: And I said what I said, Yeah, I said, I
- 25:47Speaker 13: got this. He goes, oh, buddy, you got it all right.
- 25:50Speaker 13: I want to get your pitios up real quick before
- 25:52Speaker 13: I let you go.
- 25:53Speaker 3: You got those things to do I don't know whether
- 25:55Speaker 3: you heard the Bloomberg money report leading into the show
- 25:58Speaker 3: or not this morning. Apparently people are going on Etsy
- 26:02Speaker 3: and they're purchasing these things like witches to keep their
- 26:06Speaker 3: we to make sure their weathers are good for the
- 26:09Speaker 3: weather's good for their wedding. I just caught it literally
- 26:13Speaker 3: as I was setting up everything here, you know, for
- 26:15Speaker 3: the show, and apparently that's the thing now people and
- 26:18Speaker 3: I don't even know anything about Etsy, but people are
- 26:20Speaker 3: going on and they're and they're purchasing basically, they're going
- 26:23Speaker 3: through some kind of.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Voodoo dolls, voodooz witch.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Warlock kind of things in order to make sure that
- 26:29Speaker 3: there that their weather is good. I mean, do you
- 26:32Speaker 3: offer that service as a meteorologize?
- 26:34Speaker 8: I do.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I do a rain dance one month prior.
- 26:37Speaker 13: But you know what, I was at a Georgia wedding
- 26:39Speaker 13: and I'm you're part of Appalachia, and they said that
- 26:42Speaker 13: there is an Appalachian ritual in which you bury a
- 26:46Speaker 13: bottle of Scotch one month prior to your wedding at
- 26:50Speaker 13: the site in which your wedding vows are going to
- 26:53Speaker 13: be exchanged. It's difficult if you're going to do it
- 26:55Speaker 13: in a church, which you should never do it in church.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Go go do something outside.
- 26:59Speaker 13: But if you do it there, and we buried it
- 27:01Speaker 13: as they buried it one month to the day, right
- 27:05Speaker 13: by the lake in Georgia. And I guess what beautiful
- 27:08Speaker 13: loose guys, perfect wedding.
- 27:10Speaker 3: There you go.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I got pictures to prove it, all right, I look good.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Of course you do all right. Mediaoligs Is Brian Hughes,
- 27:16Speaker 3: appreciate you being here man. So you get live on

- 30:16Speaker 3: he's got stuff going on, and he got stuff coming in,
- 30:18Speaker 3: so Conrad is not going to join his as well.
- 30:20Speaker 17: You could understand this time of year, it's you know,
- 30:23Speaker 17: when all of the shipments are coming in and probably
- 30:26Speaker 17: things are going out of the store as fast as
- 30:28Speaker 17: they're coming in. So he had a lot of a
- 30:30Speaker 17: lot of shipments. A big deal for them. You know,
- 30:33Speaker 17: they want to celebrate America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday,
- 30:36Speaker 17: so in order to do that, they needed to have
- 30:38Speaker 17: more fireworks on hand, and of course more staff. But
- 30:43Speaker 17: in order to make this bigger, better and better, they
- 30:46Speaker 17: had to put an addition on the building. So they've
- 30:49Speaker 17: got about another two thousand square feet of fireworks, more stuff.
- 30:54Speaker 17: Insta building for people that don't know, it's okay, it
- 30:57Speaker 17: is a brick and mortar building, so you don't have
- 30:59Speaker 17: to worry about being in a tent or something like that.
- 31:02Speaker 17: You know, once you get out of your car, you
- 31:04Speaker 17: go inside, you're in a building. So it's fairly exclusive
- 31:08Speaker 17: for this market. It's in Nitro at seven twenty eight
- 31:11Speaker 17: First Avenue South and Nitro. So if you are going
- 31:15Speaker 17: to be getting off at the Institute exit of I
- 31:17Speaker 17: sixty four, you would hang and go west towards Nitro
- 31:22Speaker 17: and Saint Albans And before you get to the Nitro
- 31:24Speaker 17: Saint Albans Bridge, they're on the left.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Okay, all right? So and you happen to know other
- 31:30Speaker 3: hours with their hours.
- 31:31Speaker 17: They are open nine to nine this you know through
- 31:36Speaker 17: the holiday.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Period, okay, okay? Is that seven days a week or now?
- 31:40Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure the information is available on their show.
- 31:42Speaker 3: It is on the website.
- 31:43Speaker 17: But yeah, they are open seven days a week and
- 31:44Speaker 17: they will be open on the fourth of July itself.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:47Speaker 17: Just to get you taken care.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Of, what did did this in your conversations with Ron
- 31:52Speaker 3: or with Conrad, I should say, Rod, did he tell you, like,
- 31:55Speaker 3: what is there's something that like that's really hot this year,
- 31:57Speaker 3: something that's something new, something everybody's that's the that's the
- 32:00Speaker 3: I gotta get kind of thing.
- 32:01Speaker 17: Well, he was trying to. I think he's trying to
- 32:04Speaker 17: be a little bit mysterious because there's so many good
- 32:06Speaker 17: things he wants. You can go on the website and
- 32:08Speaker 17: kind of look at what they got, but there's some
- 32:11Speaker 17: great things in the store. And I went and took
- 32:13Speaker 17: a look at the inventory. It's like it's like massive.
- 32:17Speaker 17: Anything you could think of, they've got it there. Family packs,
- 32:21Speaker 17: aerial fireworks fountains, even fireworks showkits which might have been
- 32:27Speaker 17: what Brian my Cousin from Texas seventh Cousin four times removed. Okay,
- 32:33Speaker 17: but they've got those fiberglass racks with tubes and spacers.
- 32:37Speaker 17: Just about anything you could think of in the fireworks department,
- 32:40Speaker 17: it's there. And you know they're a legitimate year round organization.
- 32:45Speaker 17: You know if something goes wrong, they're there to back
- 32:46Speaker 17: it up. It's people I trust, and I've grown to
- 32:50Speaker 17: know them over the last four or five years. These
- 32:54Speaker 17: are real local people who are part of the community.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Yeah, we want to make sure people understand that this
- 33:00Speaker 3: is not I mean, with all, I'm not throwing shade
- 33:02Speaker 3: any bams. And this is not the people that just
- 33:03Speaker 3: come in from god knows where and set up a
- 33:06Speaker 3: tent and and you don't and you don't know what
- 33:08Speaker 3: you're getting and whether it's even legal, you know, or whatever.
- 33:13Speaker 3: And these are local people that have this the Conrad
- 33:17Speaker 3: and these folks there, they're local people that have this
- 33:19Speaker 3: particular business run.
- 33:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 17: They're open year round, uh and they're safety certified. If
- 33:25Speaker 17: you go to in fact, I encourage you to go
- 33:27Speaker 17: to their website at Nitro Fireworks WV dot com. You
- 33:33Speaker 17: can look at an item you know on the tab
- 33:36Speaker 17: about safety and see all of the safety techniques you
- 33:39Speaker 17: should follow to have a good show where nobody gets hurt.
- 33:42Speaker 3: And that's the important thing. That's the important thing. All right,
- 33:44Speaker 3: Ron Hughes is here. I know that a lot of
- 33:47Speaker 3: our stations are going to be out there broadcasting live.
- 33:50Speaker 3: So do you know you have.
- 33:51Speaker 17: Two today at noon there'll be uh the Beat and
- 33:55Speaker 17: V one hundred at noon to two, and then at
- 33:57Speaker 17: five to seven will be The Mountain and KWS Superstar
- 34:02Speaker 17: Country Shockley is going to be handling that. I think
- 34:04Speaker 17: Shockley will be there, and I'm assuming.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Rob for KWS as far as I know, it's Rob
- 34:10Speaker 3: for KWS, Logan for V one hundred, Woody Woods for
- 34:13Speaker 3: the Beat.
- 34:14Speaker 17: So we've got all the superstars.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Oh but I'm here. We have all the superstars. That's
- 34:20Speaker 3: exactly what I thought you were.
- 34:21Speaker 17: Let's say all the legitimate talent will be there, all.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Right, Ron, Thanks, thanks man, my pleasure. That's Colonel Ron Hughes.
- 34:27Speaker 3: And again you can go and check out to find
- 34:28Speaker 3: folks at Nitro Fireworks and again get you stuff, do
- 34:32Speaker 3: it safely, though it safe.
- 34:33Speaker 17: Do you know why they call me the colonel because
- 34:35Speaker 17: you think you're Elvis?
- 34:36Speaker 3: And yeah, that's exactly right.
- 34:37Speaker 17: And I pandered your talents to anybody that's willing to
- 34:40Speaker 17: fork out seven fifty or fifteen dollars.
- 34:43Speaker 3: And also you're not allowed to leave the country. So
- 34:45Speaker 3: there's that. There's that. It's like, Colonel Ron, all right,
- 34:48Speaker 3: nine forty three. I appreciate you being here, mister Hughes,
- 34:50Speaker 3: thanks a lot, my pleasure. Hand on over those folks
- 34:52Speaker 3: over and talk to Milbert Nitro Fireworks, and again our

- 39:03Speaker 3: incompetence of the Trump administration. Every decision, every brag, every
- 39:07Speaker 3: assertion on the pool has completely flubbed. There's been a
- 39:11Speaker 3: lot of metaphors for this administrations and competence, but this
- 39:13Speaker 3: one's probably the most on the nose. Sends a text
- 39:17Speaker 3: Texas Dave. Everyone talks about the animal shelter needing donations,
- 39:20Speaker 3: but don't forget about the Fix some clinic. They help
- 39:22Speaker 3: out in taking on the non emergency cases. The shelter
- 39:25Speaker 3: is unable to do right now due to the overflow,
- 39:28Speaker 3: but they are in desperate need of things like cleaning products, towels, wash,
- 39:32Speaker 3: cost food and litter. Also, please remember these great neighbors. Indeed,
- 39:36Speaker 3: Fix some clinic do appreciate the text. Le's bring in
- 39:38Speaker 3: Taylor Good from the Clay Center. Good morning, Happy Friday,
- 39:40Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
- 39:42Speaker 9: Thanks for having me.
- 39:43Speaker 3: What do you have going on? This has been a
- 39:45Speaker 3: bulletin board today on the show of all the activities
- 39:49Speaker 3: going on, you know from I mean everything from not
- 39:52Speaker 3: only in Charleston, but the surrounding area. So we'll throw
- 39:55Speaker 3: you in a mix. What's a Clay Center guy going on?
- 39:58Speaker 9: Well, we are rearing up to celebrate celebrate our state's
- 40:01Speaker 9: wonderful birthday tomorrow. We've got events going on all day
- 40:07Speaker 9: as well as in the evening for our families.
- 40:10Speaker 5: We have our fairy.
- 40:11Speaker 9: Tales and Fables event tomorrow from eleven am to four pm.
- 40:16Speaker 9: We will have Putnam Princess Parties. That's bringing a bunch
- 40:18Speaker 9: of their princesses in to do meet and greets. And
- 40:21Speaker 9: we're gonna have some princess frozen trees, lots of We're
- 40:26Speaker 9: gonna be doing archery, lots of cool things. And I
- 40:29Speaker 9: can't say specifically which characters are going to be here
- 40:35Speaker 9: for our fable side, but I can say if you
- 40:37Speaker 9: are in touch with the force and like Lightsabers, you
- 40:42Speaker 9: may want to swing on by as well to meet
- 40:45Speaker 9: some of your favorite characters.
- 40:46Speaker 3: And it's of course tomorrow is West Virginia's birthday, and
- 40:48Speaker 3: that's what what you guys are celebrating there right?
- 40:51Speaker 5: Oh, yep, yep.
- 40:52Speaker 9: We're trying to do something for everyone, which is why
- 40:54Speaker 9: we're ending the day with classic classic band Chicago. Uh
- 40:59Speaker 9: there be doing a wonderful show. It's a nearly sold
- 41:03Speaker 9: out show. There are a few tickets left. So if
- 41:05Speaker 9: you know someone's looking to do something to celebrate, one
- 41:08Speaker 9: of a kind way to kick off or end our
- 41:12Speaker 9: wonderful birthday, I would say Chicago is going to be
- 41:15Speaker 9: a no brainer.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I mean, and you talk about iconic bands, I mean,
- 41:18Speaker 3: Chicago has been around, you know, forever, and I think
- 41:20Speaker 3: I told you the story when you were first on
- 41:22Speaker 3: the show. They were originally called the Chicago Transit Authority,
- 41:25Speaker 3: but then they got sued by the actual Chicago Transit
- 41:28Speaker 3: Authority and had to change their name to abbreviate it.
- 41:31Speaker 3: And Chicago is one of those groups, Taylor that's had
- 41:34Speaker 3: so many different sounds. I mean, everybody knows the big
- 41:37Speaker 3: Horn sounds, but then in the eighties they kind of
- 41:39Speaker 3: they kind of got into a little bit more of
- 41:41Speaker 3: a mellow sound with Peter Setera's their lead singer, and
- 41:44Speaker 3: songs like hard to Say, I'm Sorry and You're the inspiration,
- 41:47Speaker 3: but they never got away from that big horn sound.
- 41:50Speaker 3: And the great thing is is when you come out
- 41:52Speaker 3: and see Chicago in concert tomorrow and night at the
- 41:54Speaker 3: Clay Center, and as you said, there are still some
- 41:56Speaker 3: seats left. They are going to do all those songs
- 41:58Speaker 3: and they have got They're one of those groups that
- 42:00Speaker 3: can't possibly do all their hits because they got too.
- 42:02Speaker 9: Many, exactly. And I mean you can ask anybody who
- 42:06Speaker 9: has ever seen them perform before that they knock it
- 42:10Speaker 9: out of the park every single time.
- 42:11Speaker 5: They are one of.
- 42:12Speaker 9: Those They're one of those groups and those musicians who
- 42:14Speaker 9: just nail it every time.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Agreed. Do you know we're talking with Taylor agu from
- 42:18Speaker 3: the Clay Center and there again, you know, just so
- 42:20Speaker 3: many things going on. I mean this weekend and when
- 42:24Speaker 3: we talked about it, from the from the bike event
- 42:26Speaker 3: and today being Juneteenth, there's a parade through downtown Charleston
- 42:29Speaker 3: and all those things going on at Slack Plaza, uh
- 42:32Speaker 3: in relation to that. But we want to make sure
- 42:35Speaker 3: that people don't forget West Virginia's birthday and all that
- 42:38Speaker 3: as well. And that's that's why we had you on
- 42:40Speaker 3: today to talk about events at the Clay Center. But
- 42:42Speaker 3: I mean, you guys always got stuff, exciting stuff going on.
- 42:44Speaker 9: To Clay Center, oh always. And you know we're in
- 42:47Speaker 9: our summer months, so we're ramping up for NonStop activities.
- 42:52Speaker 9: We haven't technically announced it yet, so I guess I'm
- 42:54Speaker 9: telling you first.
- 42:55Speaker 3: But Roan doing this, go ahead, go ahead.
- 42:59Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 43:00Speaker 9: We have an event coming up here in July. It's
- 43:04Speaker 9: going to be called Paper Pilots, and essentially we are
- 43:08Speaker 9: having this massive, large scale paper airplane day where we're
- 43:13Speaker 9: looking at aerodynamics. We're going to be launching like five
- 43:18Speaker 9: foot made paper airplanes by our education team across our
- 43:22Speaker 9: performance hall lobby. We're gonna have all these really cool
- 43:25Speaker 9: activities and things with it, lots of cool aerodynamics along
- 43:30Speaker 9: with having the Bluey Show that's in the end of July.
- 43:33Speaker 9: Billy Bob Thornton, Vin Skill, I mean, it's just never.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Ending, it is. We had a text here somebody wanted
- 43:40Speaker 3: to know about the show to one at Chicago because
- 43:42Speaker 3: you know, one of their founding members actually passed away
- 43:44Speaker 3: earlier this week and he was co founder of the group.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Longtime Saxophone as a woodwind player passed away two days ago.
- 43:51Speaker 3: The show is still going on though, right.
- 43:54Speaker 9: Yes, the show is still on. All right.
- 43:56Speaker 3: We want to make sure that I'm sure they'll do
- 43:58Speaker 3: something special for him during the consort tomorrow night as
- 44:01Speaker 3: well that paper airplane event, Taylor. I mean, if any
- 44:05Speaker 3: one event says Steve Animal in ninety eight to seven
- 44:08Speaker 3: the month and Wild Wonderful Classic Rock our one of
- 44:11Speaker 3: our sister stations. We got to make arrangements to get
- 44:14Speaker 3: Animal there for that because he is he's the guy
- 44:16Speaker 3: that with the Bridge Valley, you know, does the thing
- 44:19Speaker 3: the pumpkin drop every fall. We got to get the
- 44:21Speaker 3: world's oldest kid, Steve Animal out there. Do you think
- 44:24Speaker 3: you can work with the with our sales team and
- 44:26Speaker 3: get Animal out there for that? Because man, that's that's
- 44:28Speaker 3: that's something that's got Steve Animal written all over it.
- 44:31Speaker 9: Oh, we could definitely make something happen.
- 44:33Speaker 3: All right, And what's the best place for people to
- 44:35Speaker 3: learn about all the events at the Clay Center.
- 44:37Speaker 9: You can always follow our social media channels or you
- 44:40Speaker 9: can go to our website at the Claycenter dot org.
- 44:43Speaker 3: All right, and again, just quickly in case people tune in,
- 44:46Speaker 3: like run down the schedule of events.
- 44:47Speaker 9: Tomorrow tomorrow if you've got young ones or you're young
- 44:51Speaker 9: at heart, We've got our fairy tales and bables. We
- 44:53Speaker 9: will have some of our favorite princesses as well as
- 44:57Speaker 9: characters who are in touch with the forest, love lightsabers,
- 45:01Speaker 9: maybe like some talking robots. They'll be there from eleven
- 45:07Speaker 9: am to four pm. And then if you're looking for
- 45:09Speaker 9: something more specific for maybe in an adult evening night out,
- 45:14Speaker 9: we've got the bands Chicago. We'll be performing at seven thirty.
- 45:17Speaker 9: A few tickets left for that, So if you are
- 45:19Speaker 9: looking for something fun to do, you can go to
- 45:21Speaker 9: our website and get ticket.
- 45:22Speaker 3: But if you want those tickets for that, I think
- 45:24Speaker 3: you probably need to do that over the next couple
- 45:26Speaker 3: of hours, because I can't imagine that there's the only
- 45:29Speaker 3: reason there are still seats left is because there's so
- 45:31Speaker 3: many things going on, but they're going to be gone
- 45:34Speaker 3: by the end of the day tailor. So people need
- 45:36Speaker 3: to go to your website definitely and get those Chicago
- 45:38Speaker 3: tickets and do it in the next little bit. Yeah.
- 45:40Speaker 9: Absolutely. I mean, some of the tickets we have right
- 45:42Speaker 9: now are box seats, and the only reason we have
- 45:44Speaker 9: those is they we just the show actually just allowed
- 45:47Speaker 9: us to open those seats up. So there are some
- 45:50Speaker 9: primetime seats that weren't available a couple months ago. So
- 45:53Speaker 9: if you were wanting a front row seat, they were
- 45:55Speaker 9: gone originally, and so you were putting on the back burner.
- 45:57Speaker 9: You can have even better seats in our box seats.
- 46:00Speaker 3: And I have set in those box seats, you know,
- 46:03Speaker 3: for the symphony and different things. It's a total different
- 46:06Speaker 3: experience when you set in those box seats. I mean,
- 46:08Speaker 3: I mean, Clay Center's always great. I've just gone to
- 46:10Speaker 3: several concerts there, but when you set in those box seats,
- 46:12Speaker 3: it's a totally different experience. So listen, you know, folks,
- 46:16Speaker 3: if you we're hedging on whether it go to the
- 46:18Speaker 3: show or not, there are box seats available. And again
- 46:21Speaker 3: it's noting that they weren't sold before. It's just that
- 46:23Speaker 3: the promoters just release.
- 46:25Speaker 9: Those, yes, exactly, And a lot of the shows will
- 46:28Speaker 9: hold a few just in case they have family or
- 46:30Speaker 9: friends coming out, So we get those last minute. Anytime
- 46:33Speaker 9: we can release those and get you know, some of
- 46:35Speaker 9: our community in there, we take them every chance we
- 46:37Speaker 9: can get.
- 46:38Speaker 3: All right, Taylor, we'll talk again soon. I keep doing
- 46:40Speaker 3: great things at Clay Center. Appreciate it.
- 46:42Speaker 9: Thanks a lot, absolutely, thanks for having me.
- 46:44Speaker 3: So again, if you want to go see Chicago tomorrow night,
- 46:48Speaker 3: box seats just became available and you're probably thinking, well,
- 46:50Speaker 3: how do, like Taylor said, how do they just become available? Well,
- 46:53Speaker 3: what happens is with a lot of the promoters and
- 46:56Speaker 3: the companies is they will, as she said, they will
- 46:58Speaker 3: reserve in venues like the Clay Center that have select city,
- 47:01Speaker 3: they will reserve them just in case family members want
- 47:06Speaker 3: to come through, friends of the band or whatever. And
- 47:08Speaker 3: then generally speaking, that's what happens. About forty eight hours
- 47:11Speaker 3: or twenty four hours somewhere in that neighborhood before the concert,
- 47:13Speaker 3: they'll contact the venue and say, hey, we've got these
- 47:16Speaker 3: seats available, release them. So if you want to go
- 47:19Speaker 3: see Chicago, maybe you're a person that doesn't like to
- 47:22Speaker 3: be all, you know, part of a big crowd, you know,
- 47:25Speaker 3: down on the floor or whatever. Box seats for Chicago
- 47:29Speaker 3: are available at the Clay Center. Just go to their
- 47:31Speaker 3: website and check it out. But Dave Island showing five

- 47:58Speaker 3: these events for West Virginiaday going on across the region
- 48:01Speaker 3: tomorrow free? Well, some are and some aren't. I mean,
- 48:04Speaker 3: I don't have the entire list front as far as
- 48:06Speaker 3: a cake at the Capitol, I mean I have, I
- 48:09Speaker 3: don't know that for a fact. But if somebody from
- 48:11Speaker 3: the Governor's office or somebody from our newsroom is listening
- 48:13Speaker 3: right now and wants to let me know, I'm sure
- 48:15Speaker 3: there will be a cake somewhere around maybe today, because
- 48:20Speaker 3: you know, with it being Saturday, West Virginia Day is
- 48:23Speaker 3: in some circles being observed today. So I don't know,
- 48:27Speaker 3: but you can. I mean, I mean, I know if
- 48:29Speaker 3: there's left over West Virginia cake, Ryan and I are
- 48:30Speaker 3: here for it. I mean we're absolutely here for Texas.
- 48:33Speaker 3: For anyone that's never seen Chicago and concert, They're unbelievable.
