- 0:30Speaker 2: Come fig it comes.
- 0:32Speaker 5: A K, isn't just.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm a doing Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way
- 0:40Speaker 2: you babe.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Vegan, Welcome, welcome, well good let me listening to the
- 0:48Speaker 3: Sportshock Show. I'm the Sportshock Wwayne Agandy, and I'm gonna
- 0:51Speaker 3: ride that fever from last night acts great basketball all
- 0:57Speaker 3: around at Madison Square Garden. So many Falcon fans were delighted.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And this is the thing I'm starting there because since
- 1:12Speaker 3: that Super Bowl I have been in so many debates
- 1:15Speaker 3: that you just haven't been paying attention. Other teams come back.
- 1:23Speaker 3: The New York Knicks in the coffin, they folding the
- 1:32Speaker 3: comforter over them as they let the lid downy Chilie,
- 1:45Speaker 3: the lid is ninety five, and the mortician finally realized
- 2:00Speaker 3: he forgot to take that rolex off, the watch off
- 2:06Speaker 3: his wrists, and as we closed, oh, hold on, hold on.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Closed the top as we almost closed the top ladies
- 2:15Speaker 6: and gentleman because they wanted him posed with his rolex,
- 2:17Speaker 6: because that's what he was known.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Left. But they an't want you to bury it though. No, no,
- 2:23Speaker 2: we're gonna need that.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Because you got people like the bad producer who go
- 2:27Speaker 3: out and grave rob that used to be a thing.
- 2:30Speaker 2: That's something, the human, The human is something they We.
- 2:34Speaker 6: Ain't got enough courage to look you in the eye,
- 2:37Speaker 6: catch you with your eyes close permanently.
- 2:39Speaker 3: But good morning to your great game last night, Madison
- 2:42Speaker 3: Squear Gardens. And if you don't remember, the Patriots a
- 2:46Speaker 3: couple of years ago came back and people act like
- 2:49Speaker 3: that was the first time any team ever was down
- 2:52Speaker 3: and came back to win. Last night with the Knicks
- 2:56Speaker 3: and the Spurs, Spurs coming out playing with that young
- 3:00Speaker 3: energy and failed with that young energy, got up big
- 3:06Speaker 3: in the game, playing excellent, hitting the three, and then
- 3:11Speaker 3: just kind of and it's a mix of player and coach.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It's not just the player. Everybody left with some you
- 3:21Speaker 3: know the storyline of the Super Bowl. Oh what Matt Ryan,
- 3:24Speaker 3: Matt Ryan, Matt Ryan. It's a combination of everybody out
- 3:29Speaker 3: here ain't doing their job. When a comeback happens. You
- 3:35Speaker 3: ain't playing no defense, You ain't playing no offense. Coach
- 3:38Speaker 3: ain't calling no plays. You can't seem to connect why
- 3:41Speaker 3: because you're up and these young men, no matter when
- 3:49Speaker 3: they lose this series, they got three games they gotta win.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Do they have a talent set, sure, but they seem
- 3:56Speaker 3: to be playing against a team that you just don't
- 3:59Speaker 3: imagine will win lose three games. Haven't seen that in
- 4:04Speaker 3: this next team. They're gonna lose three games, So San
- 4:07Speaker 3: Antonio on Saturday, possibly, which would set the Knicks up
- 4:12Speaker 3: for what they want anyway, to win at home city
- 4:16Speaker 3: like that. They want to erupt at home. They don't
- 4:18Speaker 3: want to have to wait on the plane and try
- 4:21Speaker 3: to figure out how to get the LaGuardia and all
- 4:23Speaker 3: that kind of stuff. They want to erupt and start
- 4:26Speaker 3: partying right now. But it came to the youth movement,
- 4:31Speaker 3: dearon Fox got to show a little more courage there
- 4:34Speaker 3: at the end.
- 4:34Speaker 2: You're the mature person. I know you only like twenty.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Nine the og on the team because they got like
- 4:43Speaker 3: five people that are like their five top of eight.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Five of their top eight players is like twenty two
- 4:49Speaker 3: or below, which is scary.
- 4:52Speaker 2: We thought, OKAYC.
- 4:53Speaker 3: But for these young guys Castle, Wenby, Vasale Harper. Uh,
- 5:02Speaker 3: these guys just would be like college seniors. You when
- 5:07Speaker 3: you see all these guys would be seniors in college.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I say, you pull up to the liquor store in
- 5:12Speaker 3: today's college where I can go you know y sophomore.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what you asked them. Can they get in
- 5:20Speaker 2: the club? Man? Can you get in here?
- 5:21Speaker 3: And they remind me so much of the same issue
- 5:24Speaker 3: you kind of noticed when you saw the OKC thunder
- 5:28Speaker 3: when they had Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kevin Durant. What
- 5:35Speaker 3: was the serge of Baka is like, ah, when the
- 5:39Speaker 3: notes do, how you gonna keep this team together? Because
- 5:44Speaker 3: that's how it really becomes, like when when it's time,
- 5:47Speaker 3: when the notes due.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Kendrick Perkins was the old mat on the team, and
- 5:50Speaker 2: he was like twenty six. Yeah, it's the.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Same thing, but a great comeback, taking nothing away from
- 5:55Speaker 3: the next, taking none from the spurs. Hey, you went out,
- 5:58Speaker 3: came out the way you need to try to win
- 6:00Speaker 3: on the road. Play from the front. Uh, And just
- 6:03Speaker 3: a couple of little things there at the end. Let
- 6:05Speaker 3: the necks the crowd was there. Just a great atmosphere
- 6:09Speaker 3: from watching on television. Love the image of Cherry sein
- 6:14Speaker 3: Feil with his mouth open.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Just what happened?
- 6:19Speaker 3: What the world just happened? I got my two hundred
- 6:24Speaker 3: thousand dollars worth.
- 6:26Speaker 6: Because you know, yeah, I played about that much to
- 6:30Speaker 6: get in, but it was worth every single penny of it.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Yeah. And Madison Square just it is a great place.
- 6:38Speaker 3: If you've never been there to watch a game. It's
- 6:41Speaker 3: just like any if you're a sports fan, take take
- 6:44Speaker 3: trips to two or three places to just have that
- 6:46Speaker 3: while they're still there. Madison Square is still where it is,
- 6:51Speaker 3: the same place Willis Reed came out with the hurt ankle.
- 6:55Speaker 3: It's the same when we were talking about Chicago. You
- 6:58Speaker 3: just got some people that don't want When I said
- 7:01Speaker 3: trying to pitch the Stillers a dome, whenever that happens,
- 7:06Speaker 3: whenever some one of the Rooney's son's son takes over
- 7:12Speaker 3: and start thinking, man, I think it's time to cash out.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Granddad had been dead ninety years. Man, it's time to
- 7:19Speaker 3: cash out. And then they're talking about the dome project
- 7:22Speaker 3: with some elevators.
- 7:24Speaker 6: And all of a sudden, that casket leek come up holdo,
- 7:28Speaker 6: somebody said no. I think back to when they first
- 7:32Speaker 6: had to twist people's arms and do all kinds of
- 7:35Speaker 6: bribing and stuff to get lights in Wrigley Field, Like,
- 7:38Speaker 6: those people just didn't want that.
- 7:40Speaker 2: And everybody was talking about.
- 7:41Speaker 6: The billions of dollars that we could make on night
- 7:44Speaker 6: games and the TV rights, and they were like, yeah, okay,
- 7:47Speaker 6: but we'll just stick with the sun. Still barely do
- 7:51Speaker 6: they still barely do it.
- 7:54Speaker 7: And now they're fighting with the people on top of
- 7:56Speaker 7: the roof about they had a contract and now the
- 7:58Speaker 7: contract went out.
- 7:59Speaker 6: And well, and see those things offend lifelong fans. We've
- 8:04Speaker 6: been sitting on this roof before these games were relevant
- 8:07Speaker 6: to the rest of the world, and now we've got
- 8:10Speaker 6: a sponsor and all of that trying to take stuff over.
- 8:12Speaker 6: And you mean, you're gonna move those people out of
- 8:14Speaker 6: their spot, and fans prefer that.
- 8:18Speaker 2: It's like family.
- 8:20Speaker 6: We knew you before you thought you were somebody, and
- 8:22Speaker 6: now all of a sudden, everybody wants to move us
- 8:25Speaker 6: to the side. So but last night I thought was
- 8:28Speaker 6: the most entertaining basketball game I've seen in a decade.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Oh wow, that was the most entertaining basketball game I've
- 8:36Speaker 6: seen in a decade, and I'm rooting for the Knicks,
- 8:39Speaker 6: and I'm glad last night that I decided not to
- 8:42Speaker 6: just go to sleep because there was a point when
- 8:44Speaker 6: I felt like they would understand. Man, y'all you get it. Yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 6: that's what I'm saying, y'all get it. I got someplace
- 8:52Speaker 6: to be in the morning. We all kind of checked out,
- 8:55Speaker 6: right now, you checked out, I'm checked out. And then
- 8:58Speaker 6: when it was over, I was like, I'm so glad
- 9:01Speaker 6: I stayed up.
- 9:01Speaker 3: And watched this great, excellent, excellent game once again. Uh,
- 9:07Speaker 3: there's still one thing that came out of Game three
- 9:11Speaker 3: that didn't seem to get a lot of traction was
- 9:14Speaker 3: the young man that got attacked outside of Madison Square
- 9:18Speaker 3: Garden the Spurs. Several people did, several and I think
- 9:22Speaker 3: they're looking for a particular group or whoever. And I
- 9:25Speaker 3: was thinking, as a d a prosecute. Can I throw
- 9:31Speaker 3: the hate crime? And that hate crime? Now, this is
- 9:35Speaker 3: the thing for us. You don't know me, and the
- 9:40Speaker 3: only reason you were attacking me is because of my color, Spurs,
- 9:44Speaker 3: my color, because of my orientation as a fan. Is
- 9:49Speaker 3: that not a hate crime?
- 9:50Speaker 2: Sports? If you're my friend.
- 9:54Speaker 3: If you're my friend from around the city and you
- 9:58Speaker 3: just happened to be a Spurs and I'm a Knicks fan,
- 10:02Speaker 3: just like all of us are different fans of teams,
- 10:05Speaker 3: but we know each other. But for you to attack
- 10:08Speaker 3: me from the only premise is that I have on
- 10:16Speaker 3: another team's jersey. Is that not what hate crime is? Yes,
- 10:23Speaker 3: it is.
- 10:23Speaker 6: And sports jock, when I saw the film, I said,
- 10:26Speaker 6: some ambitious da is going to bring the hate crime
- 10:30Speaker 6: statute into this, because the way it starts is people
- 10:33Speaker 6: are brawling and they look like they're just chaotically brawling,
- 10:36Speaker 6: and then you hear somebody scream Spurs jersey, and the
- 10:41Speaker 6: whole crowd goes what and they start gathering around him.
- 10:45Speaker 6: He starts trying to protect himself and they swarm him
- 10:48Speaker 6: and savagely beat him. If that's not the N word
- 10:53Speaker 6: or white boy, So you if that's not a hate crime,
- 10:58Speaker 6: tell me what he is the police.
- 11:00Speaker 2: That's not that's not one of the that's not part
- 11:02Speaker 2: of the parameters. Like legally if you.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Be because of a sports team. No no, no, no, no,
- 11:08Speaker 3: not because of a sports team, because I'm not identifying.
- 11:13Speaker 3: You don't like how I identified it's gonna be looked at.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Jesse sports team Jesse Smolette said he got attacked, Yes,
- 11:21Speaker 3: because he was gay.
- 11:28Speaker 2: That's not gonna be looked at the same as as
- 11:30Speaker 2: as the hypothetical you discreceed, This is not a hypothetical
- 11:35Speaker 2: with you, including with you know, if it was me
- 11:38Speaker 2: and you or whatever. But in what has happened, you.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Didn't rob me. I was taking my wallet. It's you
- 11:46Speaker 3: just beat me because I was something out the same. Well,
- 11:50Speaker 3: please you know if you hit me, No, I don't
- 11:52Speaker 3: know sports, I don't know.
- 11:54Speaker 2: It's not the same.
- 11:55Speaker 6: We got to go to break and when it comes back,
- 11:58Speaker 6: you tell me why it ain't the same thing.
- 12:00Speaker 3: If you're listening, please please hit us up Texas call
- 12:04Speaker 3: do something in the next two out and tell me how.
- 12:08Speaker 3: What is the difference between being attacked because I'm a
- 12:15Speaker 3: fan of a different team and being attacked because I'm
- 12:18Speaker 3: a different in anything else in my life? Attacking me
- 12:22Speaker 3: because I'm a woman, isn't it the same thing? Why
- 12:25Speaker 3: did you attack me? You've looked over you saw I'm
- 12:30Speaker 3: a woman and you attacked me. The difference in appearance.
- 12:33Speaker 3: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show, right after this, pus.
- 12:36Speaker 6: You can't better thought, You and I want to one
- 12:39Speaker 6: in the land of the lords.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Suck the Shiva.
- 12:41Speaker 7: Then you're screaming, my friend, and you'll wake up monthly
- 12:43Speaker 7: because of dreaming again for next time.
- 12:46Speaker 8: Don't go awayne board of the sports John Hill with

- 15:25Speaker 6: Listen, first, the Fat Boys break up Patty Day, I
- 15:28Speaker 6: wake up.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Somebody got a problem with Hold, what's up?
- 15:31Speaker 6: You don't bet up because I got a little shot up.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Welcome back to this boy, shock Job. I'm the Sports
- 15:36Speaker 3: shock Wayne Candd. We we're gonna remin this a little
- 15:39Speaker 3: bit here in New York for that great game last night,
- 15:42Speaker 3: great comeback, I know h They had Cardi D's U
- 15:47Speaker 3: in the arena at halftime a couple of days ago.
- 15:51Speaker 3: They had the Wu Tang in the arena last night.
- 15:54Speaker 3: A lot of you fans upset that in ABC didn't
- 15:58Speaker 3: show you halftime. They called it buying a ticket you
- 16:03Speaker 3: didn't have a ticket.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Right That wasn't That was nothing official with.
- 16:07Speaker 3: ESP That's what I'm saying. Did you have a ticket
- 16:09Speaker 3: to the game last night?
- 16:11Speaker 2: Did you?
- 16:11Speaker 3: I didn't and I didn't either, So you know what,
- 16:15Speaker 3: you don't get everything, and that is not ABC. Nobody
- 16:20Speaker 3: has a sponsorship. I know y'all think this is the
- 16:22Speaker 3: All Star Game. Those things are sponsored. That was a
- 16:26Speaker 3: Madison Square And they probably brought the WOU in because
- 16:29Speaker 3: everybody was complaining about Cardi B.
- 16:33Speaker 2: They did had They just had a schedule. They had
- 16:36Speaker 2: a schedule they were gonna have.
- 16:40Speaker 3: It's too much. If you're gonna bring me New York,
- 16:48Speaker 3: think about it. Now, you're gonna you're gonna dedicate it
- 16:51Speaker 3: to New York hip hop? Killer Bee, I can't most
- 16:58Speaker 3: people doesn't help the plane. Most people to know New
- 17:01Speaker 3: York as the shallow originator of hip hop. You don't
- 17:10Speaker 3: offer him Cardi B. That's no knock on Cardi B.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Love what she has done with her career. It don't
- 17:18Speaker 3: have to be something I like phenomenal up.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I do know.
- 17:23Speaker 3: That's not the first name that I think about for
- 17:29Speaker 3: New York. And there's guys that because New York hip
- 17:33Speaker 3: hop is bigger than fame and money. Right right, there's
- 17:38Speaker 3: a lot of great people out of New York that
- 17:41Speaker 3: made music what it is, but just didn't catch fire
- 17:45Speaker 3: at the right time or wasn't the right But the
- 17:48Speaker 3: music is just as it exemplified. I'm saying, Fat Joe
- 17:53Speaker 3: sits courtside could have ball in nods New York state
- 17:56Speaker 3: of mind.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Fat Joe right there, Joe crap, Joe crack? What's up? Man?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Lean back? Ben Ben still the one to lean back.
- 18:05Speaker 6: I'm saying, like he it ain't like he don't have
- 18:07Speaker 6: the hits and he has wu too.
- 18:10Speaker 3: They would you probably go to pull up some Ben
- 18:12Speaker 3: still the movies?
- 18:13Speaker 2: He probably got in a movie. Everybody loves me.
- 18:18Speaker 3: With all this talking about people, aren't they even the
- 18:22Speaker 3: great Taylor Swift in the building last night? All this
- 18:25Speaker 3: trying to get these these people are born and raised
- 18:28Speaker 3: in New York and then y'all want to tell them
- 18:30Speaker 3: they're not nick How do you know you got?
- 18:37Speaker 2: You gotta be a fan at the very least two
- 18:43Speaker 2: to pay for those tickets at those prices to sit courtside,
- 18:47Speaker 2: like you really want to sit courtside? You got?
- 18:49Speaker 6: I wouldn't. I wouldn't got I wouldn't. I wouldn't go
- 18:52Speaker 6: back far. I wouldn't. I wouldn't.
- 18:53Speaker 2: That wouldn't be mine if ualifying, if you wanted to
- 18:57Speaker 2: be there, you would find a way to be there.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I'm saying that wouldn't be my qualifying detail for identifying
- 19:06Speaker 2: a fan.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Because of the celebrity equity in the building. There are
- 19:11Speaker 6: some people who would pay to be in that building
- 19:14Speaker 6: just so they could rubt shoulders with those people, just
- 19:17Speaker 6: for the sound bite, just for the clip of me
- 19:21Speaker 6: standing next to Larry David and Ben Stiller.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Property tax.
- 19:28Speaker 3: In Manhattan, you whatever you want to be that.
- 19:32Speaker 2: That could be that too. That could be that.
- 19:35Speaker 3: If you're pay property tax in Manhattan, you you. Your
- 19:39Speaker 3: fandom is whatever it chooses to be.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Falcons fans are like that. When the Falcons win, in
- 19:44Speaker 6: everybody a Falcons fan, and when they not and when
- 19:48Speaker 6: they not know that in Atlanta is different.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I Hate crime is a traditional crime criminal efense.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Excuse me. I.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Hate crime is a traditional criminal offense, such as assault, vandalism,
- 19:59Speaker 3: or art, where the victim is intentionally targeted because of
- 20:03Speaker 3: their actual or perceived protected characteristics. It requires both a
- 20:09Speaker 3: criminal act and an added element of bias or prejudice.
- 20:15Speaker 3: M I've always thought gang activity against each other was
- 20:23Speaker 3: a hate crime.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Because because you're.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Attacking me because of a difference, bias, a prejudice, not
- 20:32Speaker 3: because you don't like me, you don't know me, but
- 20:36Speaker 3: because I claim something different, that's a hate crime in
- 20:40Speaker 3: my book.
- 20:41Speaker 6: That's the definition right there. Oh, that's the definition. You
- 20:45Speaker 6: just read the definition.
- 20:46Speaker 7: Out of what I'm We had a listener gang related
- 20:52Speaker 7: we had.
- 20:53Speaker 6: Because we've had we had, We've had several listeners. Uh,
- 20:58Speaker 6: comment on this, Darryl B. Bowen, And you said a
- 21:00Speaker 6: gang related crime. I said, that's the closest established statute.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Gloria Hatchett said, hate is hate. Yes, hate crime. They
- 21:08Speaker 6: attacked because of a jersey. Uncle Charlie said, No, that's
- 21:11Speaker 6: not a hate crime. The hate crime was in Chicago
- 21:14Speaker 6: Grant Park KKK crossburning.
- 21:17Speaker 3: That happen, Uncle Charlie. We're on sports right now. We
- 21:21Speaker 3: hadn't got to the civil civil rights part of mint
- 21:25Speaker 3: right of the show. We will move there and we
- 21:29Speaker 3: but did the did the KKK at the park have anything.
- 21:33Speaker 2: To do with sports? No?
- 21:35Speaker 3: Okay, so we'll but we'll bring that up later. Right
- 21:37Speaker 3: right now, we're talking about being attacked now on the
- 21:40Speaker 3: street corner. But wait, let me sing a fan of
- 21:43Speaker 3: a different person, bad producer.
- 21:44Speaker 6: It said burning though, didn't it didn't it say something
- 21:47Speaker 6: about burning in the definition no Arson Arson Arson. Okay, well,
- 21:55Speaker 6: and see that's what I'm saying. People will pick out
- 21:57Speaker 6: nuances like that, like, oh, there wasn't no Arson when
- 22:00Speaker 6: they attacked that fan, But it's still the rest of
- 22:02Speaker 6: that stuff goes, such as a AsSalt. Yeah, that's it
- 22:06Speaker 6: was an assault, and it was a full on assault filmed.
- 22:10Speaker 2: But the characteristics that are defined are are not connected
- 22:14Speaker 2: to gangs or fandom of any.
- 22:21Speaker 3: What was the last thing?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Even if even if you consider them a gang, that's
- 22:27Speaker 2: not part of.
- 22:30Speaker 6: What was the last part? Bias or something. Hold on,
- 22:34Speaker 6: I just want to make sure I'm hearing this right.
- 22:36Speaker 6: I'm not saying either was right. I'm just saying what
- 22:39Speaker 6: I would take the Capitol hill. You attacking me, You're
- 22:44Speaker 6: a cowboy fan, I'm a stealer fan. We get the court, we.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Go through all this time and realize the only reason
- 22:55Speaker 3: you attacked me because I was from a different set
- 23:01Speaker 3: black and yellow than you are. You can fill that
- 23:07Speaker 3: blank with anything. You attacked me because I was still
- 23:12Speaker 3: a fan. If I didn't have this jersey on, you
- 23:13Speaker 3: wouldn't attack me. How is that not hate? That's what
- 23:18Speaker 3: hate is. You're driving to attack me based on hate
- 23:21Speaker 3: of who I'm a fan of.
- 23:23Speaker 2: You gotta get that out of the books or otherwise
- 23:25Speaker 2: that doesn't make it to that court for that. That's
- 23:29Speaker 2: that will not be a defense. I'm still stuck on
- 23:33Speaker 2: the last part with.
- 23:35Speaker 3: You're doing it on religion. So if you attack me
- 23:37Speaker 3: because I'm a Baptist and you're a Catholic, then that's
- 23:41Speaker 3: a hate crime. And what's the difference. How you know
- 23:45Speaker 3: I'm a Baptist you came out of that Baptist church
- 23:49Speaker 3: because I got on a Baptist T shirt?
- 23:51Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 23:52Speaker 6: A Baptist church is an identifying symbol, is it not?
- 23:57Speaker 6: Stste It's an identifier. Baptist Church is an identified correct Yes,
- 24:02Speaker 6: And religion is part of the religion.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Sports is a religion.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I can, I can.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I don't even know how to work this computer, and
- 24:13Speaker 3: I can find you people who would tell me if
- 24:15Speaker 3: I google that.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Religion Jared Lloyd's religion religion.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Under federal law, there are religions sports.
- 24:27Speaker 6: Jared Lloyd says, you said the major component and in
- 24:31Speaker 6: quotations a protected group under the law. Gangs aren't a
- 24:35Speaker 6: protected group. And again we start making nuances. It's about
- 24:40Speaker 6: a couple of who's allowed to hate. You can hate
- 24:44Speaker 6: people as long as hating people and then you know
- 24:47Speaker 6: you're gonna be hated because you're wearing something different. But
- 24:50Speaker 6: if I'm just out here and not wanting to be hated,
- 24:52Speaker 6: then you hate me, then that's a hate crime. But
- 24:54Speaker 6: if I'm being hated just because I'm different and wanted
- 24:58Speaker 6: to be different, then because if you if you.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Attack, if you attack me because I'm in a wheelchair,
- 25:04Speaker 3: then all of a sudden is a hate disability. But
- 25:08Speaker 3: if you attack me because I'm in another team, that's
- 25:12Speaker 3: not a hate crime. And if you don't see that,
- 25:14Speaker 3: it's the same thing, and you just playing with yourself
- 25:19Speaker 3: trying to convince yourself.
- 25:20Speaker 6: Is not because what happens if you attacked me in
- 25:22Speaker 6: the wheelchair while I'm wearing my game color.
- 25:24Speaker 2: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I've seen it. Let me get ahold of the two.
- 25:40Speaker 8: Don't bowl Wayne Board of the Sports Jocks Hill with
- 25:43Speaker 8: Wayne Dambidius coming up next as veterans.
- 25:47Speaker 10: We're no strangers to helping others.
- 25:50Speaker 4: That's what we were taught service before self.
- 25:52Speaker 14: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 25:56Speaker 15: When is the last time you reached out for help?

- 27:22Speaker 3: And now back to the sports Job. Wayne Candy.
- 27:30Speaker 2: In the red zone. Uh huh yeh.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Uh huh ye.
- 27:45Speaker 12: Baby, oh.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Uh huh ye insurance baby? Oh yeah, what you'll want
- 27:55Speaker 2: to do?
- 27:56Speaker 3: You want to be Welcome back to the Sports Shop show.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I'm in the Sports Shop, Wayne can Before we move
- 28:01Speaker 3: on to Brandon Soresbee, Texas tech guys, just real quick,
- 28:05Speaker 3: real quick, bat producer Big Kenny command Chee. Why do
- 28:11Speaker 3: you think gang activity has not been officially integrated into
- 28:23Speaker 3: hate crime? Babaducer.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I'm not sure. I'm not.
- 28:29Speaker 7: Honestly, I was shocked to see this start, but I'm
- 28:36Speaker 7: not for sure. I'm not for sure. Why it's not
- 28:41Speaker 7: command you, Greg, Why isn't gang activity? Why isn't crip
- 28:45Speaker 7: in blood just using them or one mob group versus
- 28:50Speaker 7: from way back, you know, against another mob group. Why
- 28:53Speaker 7: wasn't that put into as a hate.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Crime because it's criminal on crime, no activity, and that's
- 29:02Speaker 2: not going to be protected. H It's just.
- 29:10Speaker 6: Because they see gang activity regardless of its criminal on criminal.
- 29:17Speaker 6: The criminal element is a component, but they see gang
- 29:22Speaker 6: activity as voluntary. They see being gay as born gay.
- 29:28Speaker 6: I handled truck. They see being black, being ethnic as
- 29:33Speaker 6: I had to be born with my skin so I
- 29:36Speaker 6: can't hide that. They see uh, sexual orientation sexual right,
- 29:42Speaker 6: but it's not born.
- 29:44Speaker 2: But you told, we have been told, but you identify
- 29:50Speaker 2: your colors? I interrupt you. I didn't interrupt, Sorry, I
- 29:55Speaker 2: was just.
- 29:56Speaker 6: So we have been told by science that people are
- 30:02Speaker 6: born with their sexual orientation innate. It's instilled. That's why
- 30:09Speaker 6: we talk about fighting the urges and all of that.
- 30:12Speaker 6: So gang activity is seen as voluntary. You chose to
- 30:16Speaker 6: go out and make yourself a target knowing that this
- 30:20Speaker 6: is the reality.
- 30:21Speaker 2: So we'll let that slide.
- 30:23Speaker 6: And because you commit crimes, you don't deserve to be protected.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Here here's here's my as we move on.
- 30:30Speaker 3: If you're a cue, right, Omega sci fi, Yes, Sir,
- 30:34Speaker 3: if the Omegas standing on a corner and they run
- 30:40Speaker 3: across the street and they attack Kappa, yes, because he's
- 30:46Speaker 3: a Cappali, which means that your religion is Omega, correct,
- 30:52Speaker 3: his religion is Capital correct. You only attacked him because
- 30:56Speaker 3: he was a new because he was a new and
- 30:58Speaker 3: that is a hate crime. That that's how I don't
- 31:02Speaker 3: understand what's not when when when I would be I
- 31:06Speaker 3: just said how many blocks I've been run off of them?
- 31:09Speaker 6: People did not know me, they did not know us,
- 31:12Speaker 6: They just knew we were from another group, and as
- 31:14Speaker 6: such we deserve to be attacked. And those are hate
- 31:18Speaker 6: crimes speadily.
- 31:20Speaker 2: But can I say this one thing back to Noyman.
- 31:23Speaker 7: Now, most gangs, Kenny as well as you know, I know,
- 31:27Speaker 7: growth and development, the bloods, religion.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Religion is a part of I'm so sorry. So religion
- 31:35Speaker 3: is a part of gang organization. Because I said gang,
- 31:39Speaker 3: and maybe I didn't define what I mean this gang.
- 31:42Speaker 3: When you belong to anything, you're in a gang, that's
- 31:49Speaker 3: the gang.
- 31:49Speaker 2: You rep Chattleworth arms apartments.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Whether it's a crippled blood, whether it's the Gambino family
- 31:58Speaker 3: versus the Lucci family, whether you a cap.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Q, you are are not protected federally. You think they should.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I get that. I understand what you're saying if you
- 32:11Speaker 2: think they should crime.
- 32:16Speaker 3: But I think that's where me and you disconnecting. Is
- 32:18Speaker 3: it a hate crime? So what is him as a
- 32:22Speaker 3: Q attacking me as a CAP What is that? What
- 32:25Speaker 3: would be the definition of that is assault? That is
- 32:29Speaker 3: aggravated assault. But you only attacked me because of my color.
- 32:36Speaker 2: The motivation doesn't make it a hate crime.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what That's what I just read.
- 32:41Speaker 6: And that's why people push That's what the people push on.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And see that's what hold on.
- 32:47Speaker 3: I just read to you that everything the motivation, right,
- 32:51Speaker 3: it's not a religion. The US federal law and most
- 32:54Speaker 3: states statues. Let's stop doing over talking the biased motivation.
- 33:01Speaker 3: That's what it says right here, bias motivation. Kenny is
- 33:10Speaker 3: being biased and he's being motivated by that bas bias.
- 33:14Speaker 6: And now you got a black eye and a swollen face,
- 33:18Speaker 6: and that is a crime, me attacking you.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And then what is what was the last part? Sports?
- 33:24Speaker 6: You can said something about preference or or something like that.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Uh, elements of it requires both criminal acts, elements of
- 33:34Speaker 3: bias and or prejudice.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Bias or prejudice. It varies by and then it varies
- 33:41Speaker 2: by state. And wait, wait, let me let me say this.
- 33:43Speaker 6: Let me say and when it comes to this, when
- 33:46Speaker 6: people talk about wocal agendas, this is why they get upset.
- 33:49Speaker 6: They feel like hate crime was inserted to placate certain groups.
- 33:54Speaker 6: You don't care about people being assaulted, You don't care
- 33:57Speaker 6: about people being hurt, you don't care about people's lives
- 34:00Speaker 6: being changed in damage. You just care about this group
- 34:03Speaker 6: feeling like they're being picked on. And now you're gonna
- 34:06Speaker 6: do something that you feel like evens the odds for
- 34:08Speaker 6: this one group of people. If I'm beating your ass
- 34:11Speaker 6: just because you got a different color.
- 34:13Speaker 2: On, that's hate. That's hate.
- 34:15Speaker 6: And stop trying to make it anything I thought it
- 34:18Speaker 6: was the difficult. I'm trying to make it anything else
- 34:21Speaker 6: of hate.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Brendan Soresby, the quarterback from Texas Tech, a lot of
- 34:26Speaker 3: people up in arms about this issue. Brandan Soresby was
- 34:33Speaker 3: found guilty of placing at least forty bets. Most of
- 34:37Speaker 3: this was when he was a freshman, in total, around
- 34:41Speaker 3: ninety thousand dollars.
- 34:44Speaker 2: They equate these.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Bets and now a judge in Texas has put in
- 34:55Speaker 3: junction that would let Brendan sores be It play this
- 34:59Speaker 3: season even though he was found guilty. Now, Brendan Soresby
- 35:05Speaker 3: says that his problem is he's an attic, so he
- 35:11Speaker 3: went with the attic defense. Teams like Georgia, I want
- 35:17Speaker 3: to say Oklahoma said they wouldn't play Texas Tech. A
- 35:21Speaker 3: lot of coaches, ads administrators also don't understand how this
- 35:28Speaker 3: judge put an injunction for Texas Tech to be allowed
- 35:32Speaker 3: to play Brendan Soresby. When I read the story, my
- 35:35Speaker 3: thing is that I have empathy, sympathy, whatever word you
- 35:40Speaker 3: want to throw in there for Brendan Sorosby. And I'm
- 35:43Speaker 3: not saying that you aren't an attic. You might be,
- 35:49Speaker 3: but your addiction has gotten you disqualified, just like a
- 35:53Speaker 3: lot of people's addiction gets them disqualified from a particular
- 35:59Speaker 3: thing that they do. You might be a truck driver, hello,
- 36:08Speaker 3: and you become an alcoholic. Command you Greg can't hire
- 36:13Speaker 3: you because you call it to drive because of that
- 36:20Speaker 3: particular when he goes over your thing like maybe that's
- 36:23Speaker 3: something that addiction. I'm not saying you're not addicted. A
- 36:28Speaker 3: lot of people who do criminal acts and go to prison.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Form say, well, it really isn't me. I just have
- 36:33Speaker 3: an addiction problem. Yes to children, your addiction to certain pornography,
- 36:42Speaker 3: Well you can't work at this school.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 3: So when I watch this, I'm like, well, sure if
- 36:49Speaker 3: anything I can see is Texas Tech because the ad
- 36:53Speaker 3: hoo cut and the head coach trying to spend this,
- 36:56Speaker 3: or what about the kid he's twenty two, twenty three
- 36:58Speaker 3: years old. You know what you should do is continue
- 37:02Speaker 3: to support him, keep his scholarship in tact as far
- 37:07Speaker 3: as being able to go to school. But his addiction
- 37:11Speaker 3: led him to go do some things that violated the
- 37:14Speaker 3: core principle of sport. The core principle of sport, the
- 37:24Speaker 3: number one principle of sport above sportsmanship, is that you
- 37:30Speaker 3: are not fixing betting on games. And he was actually
- 37:36Speaker 3: doing and betting on games that he was part of
- 37:38Speaker 3: the team when he was at Indiana, betting on the.
- 37:47Speaker 2: He wasn't starting. But for the starting quarterback to go
- 37:50Speaker 2: under on passing yards, that sounds like inside of trade.
- 37:53Speaker 6: And right, this is what I don't understand. This is
- 37:57Speaker 6: we and this is that whole new thing again. We
- 38:01Speaker 6: would love to believe that someone couldn't control themselves because
- 38:06Speaker 6: they have an addiction, and we would love to feel
- 38:09Speaker 6: like they would be able to find some sort of
- 38:12Speaker 6: treatment and redemption. But one of the established realities of
- 38:15Speaker 6: addiction is relapse. We know that to be a fact
- 38:19Speaker 6: of addiction. It can happen days, weeks, years later. So
- 38:24Speaker 6: what's to say that you won't do it again? Bet
- 38:28Speaker 6: on games and operate in a way that negatively outcomes
- 38:32Speaker 6: this game, and your sportsmanship be affected. I think that
- 38:37Speaker 6: I was surprised that I thought university has had autonomy
- 38:40Speaker 6: over this kind of thing, like they decided who comes
- 38:43Speaker 6: on the team because they do no no, no, no
- 38:46Speaker 6: no no no no no, they haven't. They haven't exercised it.
- 38:50Speaker 6: But they could say, well, you know what, this is
- 38:53Speaker 6: too much to deal with you not playing. They can
- 38:58Speaker 6: say that, or they could say that, but as of
- 39:01Speaker 6: right now, they have not exercised that.
- 39:04Speaker 3: And that's why I said, bad prod. Don't throw him
- 39:06Speaker 3: out of school.
- 39:07Speaker 6: Don't throw him out of school, poort him, but you
- 39:09Speaker 6: you won't bless it out.
- 39:10Speaker 7: Instead of playing, Say you can still go to school,
- 39:13Speaker 7: but you're not gonna be able to play.
- 39:14Speaker 6: But they're not gonna take that route. You won't, you
- 39:17Speaker 6: won't dress out. I can't even let you come to practice.
- 39:20Speaker 6: You're a liability. You just still you're a one the
- 39:24Speaker 6: whole liability.
- 39:25Speaker 2: That's like the counter argument of like, Okay, we can't
- 39:29Speaker 2: just leave him alone because then he's gonna relax. You
- 39:32Speaker 2: threw it.
- 39:33Speaker 7: You didn't throw him out around the team.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I mean, that's that's that's that's part of the argument.
- 39:39Speaker 2: But you kept having around the team, you give you kept.
- 39:42Speaker 7: Scholarship opportunity to still have a chance to be successful
- 39:46Speaker 7: even though he's not playing football.
- 39:47Speaker 3: We'll be back with a sports job show right after
- 39:50Speaker 3: this Don't Go Away.
- 40:04Speaker 8: More of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Dandiez coming
- 40:08Speaker 8: up next.
- 40:10Speaker 16: Cats are masters at using up their nine lives, like
- 40:13Speaker 16: chasing laser pointers into walls or jumping onto high shelves.
- 40:20Speaker 16: But the one thing cats never do text while driving.
- 40:24Speaker 16: So be like a cat and protect your one and
- 40:27Speaker 16: only life. Don't text and drive. Don't drive distracted. A
- 40:32Speaker 16: message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,
- 40:35Speaker 16: Project yellow Light and the AD Council.
- 40:39Speaker 17: The more you listen to your kids, the closer you'll
- 40:42Speaker 17: be so we asked, kids, what do you want your
- 40:46Speaker 17: parents to hear?
- 40:47Speaker 13: So sometimes that I'm now listening to I would just
- 40:50Speaker 13: want you to listen to me more often and evaluate

- 42:36Speaker 2: Game five.
- 42:38Speaker 3: We'll be in San Antonio on Saturday night. The Knicks
- 42:43Speaker 3: will look too close out and bring on their first
- 42:46Speaker 3: championship since basically probably seventy percent of the Knick fans
- 42:54Speaker 3: was live. You know you're talking about nineteen nineteen seventy three.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I saw it. Even Jerry Seinfeld was like ten. I was.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I was six years old in seventy three. It was
- 43:08Speaker 2: before someone posted it was before hip hop was invented. Wow,
- 43:15Speaker 2: seventy three.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Had had disco even been invented by or just was
- 43:21Speaker 3: coming around, just coming around.
- 43:23Speaker 2: You're going, okay, okay, Studio fifty four. I was just
- 43:29Speaker 2: hitting it. We know how this time it was just happening.
- 43:33Speaker 2: It was it was kind of music was being made,
- 43:35Speaker 2: but no one was calling a disco yet. It's not
- 43:38Speaker 2: like that until the Knicks won that championship and.
- 43:43Speaker 6: Then they got the Studio fifty four and everybody was partying.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Dud said, man, well this is a show enough disco
- 43:52Speaker 2: and there we are.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Uh So we talked about Texas Tech and their issue.
- 43:58Speaker 3: I think when you start having big teams like Oklahoma
- 44:02Speaker 3: and Georgia start declaring, that opens the way for everybody
- 44:07Speaker 3: to be like, well Georgia ain't doing it, Oklahoma's not
- 44:09Speaker 3: doing it.
- 44:10Speaker 2: So is being They're discussing like, no, we're not playing,
- 44:15Speaker 2: taking Texas take off the schedule?
- 44:16Speaker 6: Do you do you think that the fear for these
- 44:20Speaker 6: programs isn't just the the cloud of suspicion that it
- 44:27Speaker 6: places over a program, but how it might encourage someone
- 44:32Speaker 6: at your school to think, well, I might place a
- 44:35Speaker 6: bet myself.
- 44:36Speaker 2: What's the worst.
- 44:37Speaker 6: They can do? Yeah, well, hey won't get rid of me,
- 44:40Speaker 6: you know what I mean. It'll make everybody think, well,
- 44:42Speaker 6: maybe this is acceptable. And before you know it, because
- 44:46Speaker 6: now you got to explain to me, as a state
- 44:49Speaker 6: in George, why can't I play?
- 44:51Speaker 2: I'm addicted.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Remember one thing that a lot of these I don't
- 44:55Speaker 3: know that enough research goes into like feet on the ground,
- 45:01Speaker 3: grassroots research goes into a lot of the rules that
- 45:05Speaker 3: we changed. I think we seem to change rules based
- 45:09Speaker 3: on just kind of soft opinion. If you had come
- 45:14Speaker 3: to me and I would tell you that gambling, even
- 45:16Speaker 3: when I was in college, was a major source of
- 45:19Speaker 3: entertainment and time and money. That the athlete teeters on
- 45:27Speaker 3: being addicted to gambling, taking risk, they're always standing right there,
- 45:35Speaker 3: a step away, because that's kind of how your training is,
- 45:38Speaker 3: to live out on the edge, to to push yourself.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Sports shock first designer shirt came from playing tunk.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Say that say.
- 45:51Speaker 3: That that I can count, they can't. I took my
- 45:57Speaker 3: boy Anthony Abrams polo shirt at White Stripes. It was
- 46:03Speaker 3: in nineteen NINETYBA swore he was God rested, so he's
- 46:09Speaker 3: passed away, but he swore he was a great gambler.
- 46:12Speaker 3: And back then, long as you left the tags in
- 46:14Speaker 3: the clothes, you could put the clothes up for your money.
- 46:18Speaker 3: So when his mom double a good life mom, send
- 46:21Speaker 3: him nice clothes. You always keep the tag. So you're
- 46:26Speaker 3: out of money, you go to your room, you bring
- 46:28Speaker 3: the clothes back. I look at it, it's a polo,
- 46:32Speaker 3: y'all gonna let me get a hand for this polo
- 46:35Speaker 3: put it in. We were old West, wild West. Now
- 46:38Speaker 3: it's thirty five, thirty six years ago. Well, you ain't
- 46:42Speaker 3: getting no real money, and you ain't even getting no
- 46:45Speaker 3: real money the illegal way. I mean, you know, compare
- 46:49Speaker 3: him now. You know when you hear the stories markets
- 46:53Speaker 3: do free. They was getting like a couple of thousand.
- 46:56Speaker 3: That was big money. These guys are getting fold. I
- 47:00Speaker 3: have one hundred.
- 47:01Speaker 6: Thousand and and your boy double A got caught out
- 47:03Speaker 6: there with a polo shirt you.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Tunked out on I had, I had, I want us
- 47:07Speaker 3: that had twelve. I dropped it and I rocked that
- 47:15Speaker 3: red and white. It hurt him too. I never had
- 47:18Speaker 3: a designer anything.
- 47:20Speaker 2: You know, it hurt. He dropped and you caught him.
- 47:22Speaker 2: That's how he had about two games later.
- 47:24Speaker 3: I got me some rayon slacks from it. Oh se,
- 47:27Speaker 3: you was purple and uh mit green. I wore him
- 47:32Speaker 3: in the Tiger Walk because you had to put on
- 47:33Speaker 3: something nice. He was a bad camel. I used to
- 47:37Speaker 3: love catching him in there. I'm just telling to tell
- 47:39Speaker 3: you days guys don't have the degree today because they
- 47:43Speaker 3: wouldn't leave. We used to keep card games twenty four seven.
- 47:49Speaker 3: You could wake up out of your sleep and find
- 47:51Speaker 3: a car. Thirty and y'all are still up there. I'm like, bro,
- 47:54Speaker 3: we got practice at six. Yeah, but one more hand
- 47:57Speaker 3: because somebody down said one more hand.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Eight hours and they there. You come back from class.
- 48:02Speaker 3: You got your walk into class nine fifteen in the morning.
- 48:07Speaker 3: The door opened. They in there, heymn he ge Hey,
- 48:11Speaker 3: let me get them notes when you get back. They
- 48:14Speaker 3: ain't nothing wrong with them. They see the class, but
- 48:18Speaker 3: all they're going, I'm saying with Soresby, as I said,
- 48:22Speaker 3: I'm not playing you either. This isn't a Reggie Bush
- 48:25Speaker 3: team where you took money to be on the team,
- 48:29Speaker 3: and I can this is actually break This is cardinal
- 48:32Speaker 3: rule number one. You yeah, man, And because you has
- 48:35Speaker 3: an addiction does not I'm not. And That's why I'm
- 48:39Speaker 3: not even gonna question. I'm gonna go with you at
- 48:43Speaker 3: it because I'm about to take something away.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Is because that is that gonna be? Is that about
- 48:49Speaker 6: to be our new substance abuse? I'm at it. Well,
- 48:53Speaker 6: I know Paul George tried the whole U health mental health.
- 48:58Speaker 6: I'm saying now, is that gonna be our brand? Knew
- 49:01Speaker 6: what we go when we get caught gambling?
- 49:05Speaker 3: No, no, I needed some purposet for my mentor.
- 49:08Speaker 6: I could have used that come when they pulled it
- 49:13Speaker 6: out of my pocket, I just was in possession. I
- 49:16Speaker 6: could have said mental health, but that's you. You caught
- 49:19Speaker 6: me gambling and now I say I'm a gambling at it.
- 49:22Speaker 6: Did I go to anybody prior to this telling them
- 49:25Speaker 6: I think I got a problem?
- 49:26Speaker 2: Is this anything I've been struggling with?
- 49:28Speaker 6: Or is this just my new get out of trouble
- 49:32Speaker 6: and accountability free card?

- 52:37Speaker 3: Dja shuck. You know he's down with us. Swell, he's
- 52:41Speaker 3: down with us.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Keep what money might it's down with us. I see you.
- 52:45Speaker 3: You know he's down with us.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Send me what.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Back to the sports shock shower. I'm the sports shock
- 52:50Speaker 3: Wayne can t Big Kenny the funny man himself, command you,
- 52:54Speaker 3: Greg and the building the bad producer. One thing just
- 52:56Speaker 3: to put a little bull on that gambling and I'm
- 52:58Speaker 3: gonna say it probably forever the thing that especially for
- 53:06Speaker 3: this generation of athletes is the prop bet. In my time,
- 53:12Speaker 3: basically people only knew win or lose. Maybe if you
- 53:19Speaker 3: was good and on it, you might know something about
- 53:21Speaker 3: point spreads, but mostly it was everybody thought about gambling
- 53:26Speaker 3: thirty years ago kind of like I either go get
- 53:29Speaker 3: a player to lose the game, you know, some kind
- 53:32Speaker 3: of situation like that. But now with prop bets that
- 53:35Speaker 3: we have talked about and the bad producers has educated
- 53:39Speaker 3: us about basically, so you ain't asking me to lose.
- 53:44Speaker 3: You just want me to go too for eight in
- 53:48Speaker 3: the first quarter, no more than Okay, I got no more,
- 53:53Speaker 3: but I can then I can come back and win
- 53:55Speaker 3: like the Knicks. Yeah, you can do that. And how
- 53:58Speaker 3: much I get? How much did you.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Say you'd pay me? Yeah, like we talked like were
- 54:04Speaker 2: talked about before. It was the ones that went too
- 54:07Speaker 2: far and we're too blatant with it. Uh John tay
- 54:11Speaker 2: Porter under over under five points. He makes one shot
- 54:15Speaker 2: and then fakes an eye injury. Well in.
- 54:21Speaker 3: A game, And that's the part sweat your sweat.
- 54:25Speaker 6: Right, And that's the part about saying that you're addicted
- 54:28Speaker 6: to gambling. That concerns me is now you're going to
- 54:32Speaker 6: lay that at the feet of being addicted, in which
- 54:36Speaker 6: people who are addicted, the science behind that says that
- 54:39Speaker 6: they can't control themselves. That's why I'm saying I couldn't
- 54:42Speaker 6: let him come to practice, I couldn't let him anywhere
- 54:45Speaker 6: around the team because any information he gets, he'll see
- 54:48Speaker 6: is an advantage that he can possibly sell and then
- 54:51Speaker 6: be able to claim that. Man, I just can't help myself.
- 54:54Speaker 6: I don't want to do this, but my sickness compels.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Do you see that. That's why the expectation was, Okay,
- 55:01Speaker 2: he's not coming back to school, He's going to go
- 55:04Speaker 2: into the Supplemental Draft maybe if not, the UFL, and
- 55:09Speaker 2: we'll go from there. But for now, Texas Texas Tech
- 55:13Speaker 2: is allowing him to stay on the team and suspend
- 55:16Speaker 2: him for the first two games.
- 55:18Speaker 7: Do you think we see this going forward with this
- 55:22Speaker 7: gambling and by him saying he's addicted, Just like when
- 55:26Speaker 7: a player fails a drug test or something that all
- 55:29Speaker 7: slap on the hand first time, this time giving them
- 55:31Speaker 7: like two or three chances before they actually will do something,
- 55:36Speaker 7: do you think just opened the Pandora.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Box of hard to do that with gambling? I mean,
- 55:40Speaker 2: like the relapse, the chance of a relapse is much
- 55:44Speaker 2: higher when because those guys who you know it was
- 55:49Speaker 2: for drugs or anything off the field close to that,
- 55:54Speaker 2: you they're suspended, you take the game away from them.
- 55:57Speaker 2: But to to only give him maybe a couple of
- 56:02Speaker 2: games here or something like that, I think it's more
- 56:04Speaker 2: of a relapsed chance for gambling than any of that
- 56:07Speaker 2: other stuff.
- 56:10Speaker 3: UFC White House two fifty June fourteenth is going to
- 56:16Speaker 3: be live Washington, DC at the White House. Only thing
- 56:20Speaker 3: I don't know about this because I don't have a
- 56:22Speaker 3: problem with you know, if y'all want to blame somebody,
- 56:25Speaker 3: don't bring the president, blame us. We're into the spectacle.
- 56:30Speaker 3: We love it. That's why he is president. That's why
- 56:34Speaker 3: we love spectacle. We're into the spectacle. We're into running
- 56:39Speaker 3: with whatever, you know, gas lights the world. This is
- 56:44Speaker 3: something they've come up with two hundred and fifty years
- 56:49Speaker 3: and now they're basically having a fight party at the
- 56:52Speaker 3: White House. My thing is, is there any one of
- 56:57Speaker 3: note to watch? I'm not a UFC guy, would I
- 57:01Speaker 3: know a name who's on the marquee other than because
- 57:04Speaker 3: all you hear is that the fight's happening is at
- 57:06Speaker 3: the White House, Dana White, you haven't really heard any
- 57:12Speaker 3: reason the names might might trigger you, because this sounds
- 57:17Speaker 3: like something that you would have wanted maybe run the
- 57:20Speaker 3: rouseing them.
- 57:21Speaker 2: You should have saved.
- 57:23Speaker 3: To be in, or you wanted to get what's my
- 57:26Speaker 3: man's name, the Irish guy.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Gregor?
- 57:30Speaker 6: Do you think that they the fool? Do you think
- 57:34Speaker 6: they asked them and they didn't show up? Or have they?
- 57:37Speaker 6: Have they named the lineup? Maybe it's a.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Surprise they have named the lineup Topura against is it?
- 57:47Speaker 2: Is there any guy.
- 57:50Speaker 3: You would know if it wasn't a UFC fan, because
- 57:52Speaker 3: I'm not knowing these guys, aren't.
- 57:54Speaker 2: I'm looking at the name. The only ones I know
- 57:56Speaker 2: is is Perreira Alex Pereira, okay, and that's for heavyweight title.
- 58:02Speaker 2: That's the only name I know. Anenterpura, I've seen that
- 58:08Speaker 2: name before, but I don't I don't really know much
- 58:10Speaker 2: about them.
- 58:11Speaker 3: So there's no there's no marquee. That just kind of
- 58:14Speaker 3: you know, because there are certain names, like I said,
- 58:16Speaker 3: with Gina Corono and Ron Rouse or Anam McGregor or
- 58:24Speaker 3: John Jones. There's names that even if you haven't watched it,
- 58:28Speaker 3: the name jumps out that would maybe draw you into it.
- 58:33Speaker 3: This is kind of more of a subtle if you
- 58:35Speaker 3: know UFC. Yeah, I mean these are probably the best.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I mean now.
- 58:41Speaker 6: But yet right and I until you talked about the lineup,
- 58:46Speaker 6: I wonder is there any of the same energy that
- 58:50Speaker 6: they bought for the uh the America two fifty concert
- 58:56Speaker 6: where a lot of the artists canceled because they didn't
- 58:58Speaker 6: know it was going to be quote unquote a political event.
- 59:01Speaker 6: And now maybe they were signed up or had been
- 59:03Speaker 6: reached out to would you like to participate? And where
- 59:06Speaker 6: at the White House?
- 59:07Speaker 24: Now?
- 59:07Speaker 6: I'm good, so uh, but no one has. Usually when
- 59:12Speaker 6: those stances are taken, they usually want the publicity that
- 59:15Speaker 6: comes along with it. Hey, I just got asked to
- 59:18Speaker 6: go to the White House and I told them no
- 59:20Speaker 6: because I believe in freedom and I'm against the stance
- 59:24Speaker 6: that you know all of That's.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Exactly I'm saying.
- 59:28Speaker 6: And part of freedom means people are allowed to do
- 59:32Speaker 6: stuff that maybe you don't agree with, and you gotta
- 59:37Speaker 6: be cool with that because that's freedom. Because when you
- 59:40Speaker 6: do the stuff that you like doing, you don't want
- 59:43Speaker 6: people stopping it.
- 59:44Speaker 2: We'll be back from more the sports Jock Show right
- 59:46Speaker 2: after this, right right, right right, get.
- 59:56Speaker 8: Me out, job right, don't bow away Boor of the

- 1:00:16Speaker 25: be your turn to guide her.
- 1:00:18Speaker 26: Hey, I'm worried about Mom. She keeps forgetting her famous
- 1:00:21Speaker 26: sweet potato pie recipe.
- 1:00:23Speaker 10: Some things come with it, says, and some don't.

- 1:00:40Speaker 26: took lightly, but with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:00:43Speaker 26: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:00:46Speaker 26: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own
- 1:00:48Speaker 26: home too.
- 1:00:50Speaker 22: Mea ware?
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Are your napkins?
- 1:00:52Speaker 24: Well?
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Not that drawer unless anyone needs a gun.

- 1:01:15Speaker 2: She shopping and we hold the world ransom for.
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: Excuse me while I whip this shout.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Shure broadcasting live and at leta to a jous. This
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: is the sports shot ship with Wayne Indy.
- 1:01:31Speaker 24: You may.
- 1:01:38Speaker 20: Come to come to come to Monk.
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: Is it just.
- 1:01:46Speaker 27: I'm gonna do?
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way you.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Made Vegan, Welcome back to this war shock shop. I'm
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: the wort shock Wayne Againdy Justin Bieber of the favorite
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: over Mari Syrus to play Super Bowl twenty twenty seven.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Early reports are those may be the two names that
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: they are looking for out that so far.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Does she even have year ten minutes work for songs
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: that she could sing? Yeah?
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I would say she does nowhere near Bieber's cattle.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: Did she bring in dad dad to do a song?
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: They do that? Yeah, they ain't. That still ain't. She
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: probably don't have to do the stuff. When she was
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: working with Mike Will made it, well, yeah that still ain't.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: Beeb'es I've been doing it since he was what four,
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: four or five years old?
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Well, b beebe would have more range of who he
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: could special guests. Oh yeah, if he chose to. Yeah,
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: most definitely than Miley, but both of them have the catalog. Yeah,
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: and then to be able to pull it off.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Yeah, she does.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: And when I come to think about it, I don't
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: follow her like that. But over the years, everything she
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: has released has been a chart topper.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Yeah, because she dabbles like hip hop, country hip hop.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: But I do think the feeling of a lot of
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: people is more justin Bieber. I think you're gonna get
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: people who brings more energy, Yeah, and movement.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: I was gonna say he's a singer, dancer, entertainer. She's
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: a performer, but not in the same vein. He's a
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: true entertainer.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: But these are just two early names that are floating
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: we I don't think they're officially saying anything.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: You won't know until the season starts. Yeah.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Five law firms accused of defrauding the NFL Concussion Fund
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: eighty seven million, ninety eight players. Five firms NFL Concussion Fund.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: It's so hilarious for me when I read these kind
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: of things. The first thing I wrote down is why
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: are we so cricket? Everybody say I can't I can't hate.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: I'm hoping that some conversation you get to have, you know,
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: in my faith, I'm hoping I get to talk to God.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: It's a couple of questions, like what is that that
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: you put in our DNA that makes us take something
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: that was established to be good and do good. You
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: heard the cries of Mike Dicker and all that crowd.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: You heard the cries of the sports jock and different athletes.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: You let me sit there. And when I got in
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: the league, y'all guys don't understand. We had eighteen months
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: of health cover. That means that when you retired back
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: in those days, you got eighteen months before you were responsible.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: By the time I left, it's up to five years
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: and an annuity. They put in concussion, they got programs,
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: They have therapists you can call, They have meetings every
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: month for anyone that's depressed. And they put so much
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: in the last thirty years. So it rings different from
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: me because I remember when none of this was in place,
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: and all these athletes we're asking is it where we
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: want it to be? No, But it's trickling forward that
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: when you get in your fifties and you find yourself
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: you don't have to buy the whole hip.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: They'd throw a little something on the hip for you.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: They give you thirty five forty thousand dollars on the hip.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: They didn't give you nothing.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: They're saying, go get these things replaced. You can get
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: your knee and your thumb and your wrists and all
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: these things. But then you got this group of people,
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: and we've seen it in the NBA. Guys are in jail.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: We've seen some of our good friends and people we
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: know here on the show. In the NFL. You win
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: in and try to exploit something that was actually set up.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: So when it does hit you, oh, your loved ones,
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: your wife, your kids start recognizing at fifty seven, fifty
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: eight or whenever it hits you, something wrong with dad.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: Yeah Dad, ain't dad, no more, ain't regular dad.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: There's a one eight hundred number that has programs and
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: some money there. But so when I see this, it's
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: like y'all guys decided the final angle and the story
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: goes they they you know, they foul, and then some
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: kind of way they get a prescription to get on
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: some type of drug to put them in that state
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: it's a whole gimmick. When you read, please read the article.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I even I even text one of the firms myself yesterday, Man,
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: is this y'all? And they was like, no, that's just
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: we just got the same name. And I was still
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: looking side out. Let me do a little deeper, because
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I don't want y'all messing up whatever it might be
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: coming for me for me because I only want what
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: I deserve and work for what I don't want to
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: take away from the next player. I don't want to
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: damage this eighty seven million dollars now you hustling command.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: That ain't no hustle. That's a grand scheme. Eighty seven
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: million dollars. A hustle is a couple of grand A
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: couple of g's up on. Eighty seven million dollars is
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: burning made. Yeah, we've got a grand scheme. And this
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: is the thing you said, if you had a chance
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: to ask God, you to ask him what is it
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: that you put in us? What if he told you
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: I didn't put it there? What if you said, I
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: give y'all free wheel and that was on you.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Well, I'm talking about where it seems that we people,
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: that everybody seems to go in on these schemes, like
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: when something is created, we find the back door of
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: exploiting it. We look for the loophole, the lookhole, the loophole.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: I'm always wondering. They put the peppermint out, why did
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: you grab forty? It's they was putting it out. They
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: were thinking what they put in that basket. If everybody
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: took one or two, we're good for to day, free wheel,
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: free will.
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: They were thinking about your palm over there, grab.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: They were thinking, what's that little game that has the
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: thing you try to grab the hip hop the Yeah,
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: well you just and that's how people because they were
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: thinking about you.
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: You got a little date, you're gonna be leaving here,
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: You got uh garlic clown sauce on your breath. You
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: might want to men because they might go better than this.
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: And you thought to yourself, I'm gonna just keep my
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: breath fresh for the next twenty seven dates. Ain't enough
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: that I might get lucky tonight. I'm gonna wait to
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: me and this chick break up. Man, I'm gonna have
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: fresh breath for the cheek got cheat with later. So
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: I we I think sometimes temptation is the greatest of
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: our faults is we'll think about it. There ain't folks
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: that good people won't even consider it, but human nature
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: will make everybody.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: And that's we can talk the whole show because I've
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: just seen it with the falcons, mister Blake, you know
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: the gatorade is there, gods just pull up their truck
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: and put the two or three cases.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: I've heard that would like almost every team with the gatorade.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: They just got the freeze right there, so you can,
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: you know, grab your water, grab your gatorade, keep it moving.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Did you just pull the one fifty.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Up here and throw about four did you? Did you just?
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: Did you just throw three cases of gatorade in the
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: back of your Lamborghini truck?
- 1:10:22Speaker 10: Like?
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Is that is your cyber truck field right right now?
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Is that what we're doing to the point they start
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: and then they moved it to where they put one
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: of the equipment men. They only had it in the
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: refrigerator and then they would lock it and they wouldn't
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: keep it on the side. That's how you pushed them.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: To imagine how a billion dollar operation has to be
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: pushed Like, so y'all just gonna take it all because
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: the truck ain't coming back until Saturday, because I dropped off.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: A week cases for today's Monday, seven days and then
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: this is the thing. This is the thing.
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: It ain't like people like you put it on the
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: side of a vending machine in the hallway at a
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: high school or just out at the city park. Everybody
- 1:11:16Speaker 6: in here work here. You get paid handsomely, like you
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: could supply us by yourself and not miss money, but
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: you gonna actually take the million dollar check and two cases.
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: I mean, I'm saying humans are amazing and we are amazed,
- 1:11:35Speaker 6: and I see it all the time.
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: Did that firm put a statement out since they had
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: the same name, I would be putting a statement out
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: to make sure.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Oh, I'm just making sure. I don't know what they're
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: doing as far as a cover story, and but I
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: did looking it is two firms and different firms.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: And in my.
- 1:11:53Speaker 6: Experience, until you ask me, is that me, I'm gonna
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: be quiet because nothing sounds like I did it, me
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: going hey man, that I did something, but I didn't
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: do that that would I would concern some people.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: But in this case different than how we've seen the
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: other ones, and I'm not I didn't study all of them.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: The other cases seemed like it was just players and.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Agent.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: This seems like, as Big Kenny said, everybody was in
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: on it, Law Firm, everybody except to judge the Dot.
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: It was Mount it was Mount Everest. Everybody in on

- 1:19:20Speaker 2: But they didn't Dayton growed up. Hey man, your niece
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: don't got forty years old? Is uh?
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: The Osen Twins Nicole Brown sister. She demands that the NFL.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: She wants the NFL basically to ban O Jay's number
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: thirty two. She wants them to take it off of
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: any kind of advertisement, any little you know, when they're
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: running little old clips. She wants them to go in
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: and take O Jay's number thirty two. She says that
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: it triggers her. I mean if he found guilty in
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: the court, because this is not about what you think.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: So I'm not minimizing her pain, but I'm saying, by
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: the letter of the law, he was not found guilty
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: for that crime.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: So it's hard to I guess the NFL would be
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: hard pressed who addressed something some clarification like not have
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: any advertising with him in it, or it's not the
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: number thirty two at all? On even if it was
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: Jim Brown or something.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: Ojy so any Buffalo, any forty nine er, and she
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: don't want him to sell it. She doesn't want it
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: in an old running back special clip. Yes, including the
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: USC jersey for college. Also, no, she's just talking about
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: the NFL. That's in the NFL to bandit.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Good luck with that.
- 1:21:01Speaker 6: And the reasoning because I'm triggered is I mean not
- 1:21:06Speaker 6: that you don't have a legitimate reason to attach to
- 1:21:10Speaker 6: being triggered. It's just how do we manage your feelings
- 1:21:15Speaker 6: for you worldwide? That's that's that's a heavy ask. Well,
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: it's a heavy ass based on that. The person you're
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: asking me to do is it's no guilt, then I
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: open up a door that basically I won't be able
- 1:21:30Speaker 6: to have any kind of.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: Anything it's your emotion.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: Assaulted or raped or any kind of violent crime can
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: come in and say that same.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: It triggers the idea and that I get where she's at.
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: A by the leather of the law, I could be
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: more on your side if they had found him guilty. Guilty. Yeah,
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: but the young ladies, uh, you know, like the young
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: ladies for Darren Sharper. You know, everybody that's ever been
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: there would be able to walk in and demand NFL
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: do that.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: Ojay number thirty two, oj playor three teams right two
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: just two Buffalo in the forty nine ers he was
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: on forty nine is like maybe two years or a
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: year just a year, okay, at the end of his career.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: We'll be back. Or the Sports Jock Show right after.

- 1:22:55Speaker 27: We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. But there are
- 1:22:59Speaker 27: times when bootstraps as aren't enough, when stress gets to
- 1:23:02Speaker 27: us and we need to talk to someone about what
- 1:23:04Speaker 27: we're really going through. So we're going to reach out

- 1:24:59Speaker 2: I'm charging and writing there my booker.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: Bob, welcome back to this what shock shah. This was
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: shock Wayne Againdeed.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Good morning to you out there in this inland.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: Once again, the sentence for Carmelo Anthony has come down.
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: This case is something we reported on last year when
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: it happened, the murder of Austin Metcalf. This happened at
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: a track meet where it weather got bad, it started raining.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: Carmelo Anthony.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: Moved into.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: The wrong tent or from what the report is, decided
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: he was not going to leave the stands and run
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: to wherever his tent was or whether they had a
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: tent of go inside. He decides to move into where
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: the team ten of Austin metcalfon Metcalf asked him to leave.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Carmelo Anthony from the report says he basically was not
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: going to leave and you better not touch me to leave.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: At that point, when Austin Metcalf went to grab him
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: to remove him, Carmelo Anthony pulled out a knife.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: And stab him. He died.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: The result of that is this young man now nineteen.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: He was seventeen when this case started. Because he was seventeen,
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: they could not sue for life in prison without parole.
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: They could not sue for the death penalty, but he
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: was found guilty, and since then a lot of people
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: are as you read, feel like either he didn't get
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: a fair trial, which I can't figure out what makes
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: them say that in a case where the young man
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: what happened happened. Now, Carmela Anthony did say he feared
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: for his life, but how do you say you feel
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: for your life in a case where the person that
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: you murdered doesn't have a weapon, doesn't have you in
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: some kind of dangerous hold, and it just becomes your sensibilities. Guys,
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: I don't know how much your phone or how much
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: you've looked at this case, but it's sad all around.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: And as I always tell you, I sadness for everybody
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: when I see different young cases, because I know you're
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: paying a heavy price, you're taking a life off the planet.
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: Sometimes we go to trying to defend, but there is
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: another seventeen year old kid that's not here, and you
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: had a family too, So as much as you're defending
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: yours and not saying, but sometimes we defend and forget
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: their son is gone as well. Thirty five years for
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: this young man, and in these cases, that's a long time,
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: if you know, I don't know his states, So in
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: Texas probably equate about twenty years.
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: Twenty five something like that. Anywhere from five to I
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: don't know, fifty years, maybe one hundred years. I mean,
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: they could have gone that anywhere. It could have fallen
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: anywhere between five and one hundred.
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: Just want to get your guy's opinion, if you've followed,
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: if you haven't understand, if you've read about it. I
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: do know we introduced it here on the show last year.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: So where are you coming from or where has your
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: your phone, your tags, your social media.
- 1:29:20Speaker 6: I've followed it. I know that a great many people
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: who are timeline adjacent to me, not quite people that
- 1:29:31Speaker 6: I might follow, but just their conversation is in my zeitgeist,
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: are angry. Part of their feeling like he didn't have
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: a fair trial where there were no black jurors on
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: the jury. And then there's some talk that the DA
- 1:29:44Speaker 6: judge and the victim's father all knew each other. I
- 1:29:49Speaker 6: can't confirm or deny any of that. I just am
- 1:29:53Speaker 6: personally stuck, having been in situations where what seemed like
- 1:30:00Speaker 6: like a normal afternoon was tragically changed. I wonder, and
- 1:30:08Speaker 6: I know that on each side there are questions from
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: victims' families, perpetrator's families, perpetrator, and that would have to
- 1:30:23Speaker 6: I'm sure that Carmelo Anthony himself probably asked himself, how
- 1:30:27Speaker 6: come I didn't just move? How come I couldn't have
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: just moved. I'm sure the family of the deceased wonders
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: why did he take it upon himself to try and
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: be the arbiter of who sits under this? You could
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: have just left him alone, and it's easy to see
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: that now, But in that moment, whatever led you to
- 1:30:49Speaker 6: continue that course of action has altered everyone's life up
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: to this point.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: And how.
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: Do you, as the parent of a murdered child, not
- 1:31:01Speaker 6: want the stiffest penalty for the perpetrator of the person
- 1:31:08Speaker 6: that killed You didn't send your kid to detract me
- 1:31:10Speaker 6: to be murdered. You never thought that was a possibility.
- 1:31:13Speaker 6: And so we've lost someone, and now you have another
- 1:31:17Speaker 6: child whose life's been changed. But I'm sure he won
- 1:31:20Speaker 6: like man, I could have just I could have just
- 1:31:22Speaker 6: jogged that little twenty yards back to my tent. I
- 1:31:25Speaker 6: could have There's a lot of what ifs now, and
- 1:31:27Speaker 6: there are no answers that will ever satisfy any of
- 1:31:30Speaker 6: those questions.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: The conversation that I had over text with person particular
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: that you all are familiar with, the part that bothered
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: me the most is this person wanted to do basically
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: a touchdown dance that this guy was found guilty and
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: saying that, oh he should have. You know, if that
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: was me, I would like it. And the part that
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: that I was hearing the most is what other people
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: would have done in that situation, And none of that mattered.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: None of that matters at all. A kid is still
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: dead and his killer is going to jail. Those two
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: families have been altered forever. So how you would have
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: behaved in the situation doesn't matter. What you would tell
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: your kid doesn't matter in this this only in this
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: moment that we that's all we can consider right now.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: And it's a it is a tragedy all around. We
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: wish things could have been different, but it it it,
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: this is, this is what happened. As far as the
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: case with with the jury or the if those people
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: knew each other or anything like that, Well, you said that,
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: and y'all both know that part. What does mean knowing
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: the prosecutor have to do with this case.
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: The assertion first degree murder should not have been that
- 1:33:19Speaker 6: this crime didn't meet the burden of proof to be
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: charged with first degree murder, and my proximity and friendship
- 1:33:26Speaker 6: with the victim's family is what led me to charge
- 1:33:31Speaker 6: them with that crime. And now, for all the people
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: that are upset, facts like no African Americans on the
- 1:33:41Speaker 6: jury and the fact that we might have known each
- 1:33:43Speaker 6: other is right for appeal. There's a whole process to this,
- 1:33:49Speaker 6: but people want all of this stuff to somehow equal.
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: He shouldn't have been convicted, but they keep overlooking the
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: fact that he willfully, deliberately, intentionally pulled out a knife
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: and stabbed a kid in the chest and that kid died.
- 1:34:07Speaker 6: Now he said he was in fear for his life.
- 1:34:09Speaker 6: That is for the jury to decide. You roll those dice,
- 1:34:14Speaker 6: and it came up snake eyes.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: You lost that.
- 1:34:17Speaker 6: So everyone would love to believe when we lose, we
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: didn't lose because we weren't prepared enough, we didn't practice enough,
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: we didn't want it enough. There's always a reason why
- 1:34:30Speaker 6: we didn't win.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: Then followed the trial until the verdict actually and we
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: when we ended the store.
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: But and I started hearing all these other reports that
- 1:34:41Speaker 7: the Kenny in Greg had heard about the jury, the connection,
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: how they moved the trial from one county because of
- 1:34:51Speaker 7: the connection. And then you hear people saying, oh, we
- 1:34:54Speaker 7: knew he was gonna be guilty, so we were already
- 1:34:57Speaker 7: waiting for the appeal.
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: And it's like I said, it's just discouraging. Like Greg said,
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: you got two families. But what And I'm told, I
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: guess what I keep hearing from the three of you.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: I don't know where is guilt questioned.
- 1:35:15Speaker 28: You?
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: You didn't I didn't knife out in the open. No, no, no,
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: not you.
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: I'm saying, I've heard what the bad producing. I don't
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: understand the reason question some people. Some people are asserting
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: that he was provoked or that he was self defense.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: That's what they are, self defense. I was defending myself.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: It was more than just one person. And maybe you,
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: maybe you were for what you thought the act of
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: self defense allowed you. So I can't even I'm not
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: trying on one way or other. I'm looking at the
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: tragedy of the whole thing. Maybe to your sensibilities. We
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: talk about that a lot, about how we have this
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: idea of what how the law really works? Right, like
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: you think, like you know, I have the right to
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: go anywhere through what I want to do and you
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: can't stop me. That doesn't necessarily nobody counts that as
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: self defense. You're you're somewhere where. Well, did he had
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: he punched you? Did he have something in his hand?
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: Me trying to remove the bad producer?
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: Right now? He's and hey, man, you gotta go. He
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: won't go.
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: I get up, go try to remove him.
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: He shoots me.
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: In his mind. Oh, but I hadn't attacked you, And
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: I asked you to leave, asked you to leave, asked
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: you leave?
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Did I not ask you to leave? So I didn't.
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: I wasn't trying to be in danger, period. So none
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: of that, some of all that could have factored in.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: But and now see sports. But you did pull out
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: the knife. It was a folded knife, right, and and
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: then there here here's the other part of it. There
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: are some crimes that the fact that you were possible
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: trespassing under this team's tent would have been the initial
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: crime itself. That's what set everything, and a lot of
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: people would have looked at it that way. Had you
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: not been under the tent refusing to leave. That wouldn't
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: have set the crime into motion, because had the kid
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: who lost his life taken the life of Carmelo Anthony,
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: then part of that defense surely would have been, well,
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: I was just trying to get him out of a
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: place he should not have been. We'll be back with
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: more to the Sports Jock Show right after this.

- 1:39:52Speaker 19: Wa log on so you can see a sports Jan'll
- 1:40:07Speaker 19: sing even Jany.
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: Welcome back to this by shock Shun this boy, Shock
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: Wayne Dandy. We were left, uh talking about the Carmelo
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: Anthony U situation at the track meet.
- 1:40:21Speaker 26: Uh.
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: A sentence has been wagered of thirty five years for
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: the murder of Austin Metcalf, another young man who was
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: at a track meet.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: And a lot of.
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: Conversation is coming out of this from different angles from
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: the jury not having any black you know, I guess
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: there were men and women.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: And women, and some people keep it keeps being reported
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: like all white. It was not an all white jury,
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: was Uh, there were just no black jers. Yeah, I
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: saw that in Frisco, Texas. There, I think if I remember,
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: it was like.
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: White thirty Asian population there thirty five percent Asian population,
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: maybe fifteen percent Hispanic and ten percent black. It's kind
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: of how they broke it down. So I don't you know,
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: and I know what that symbolizes for us. It's a
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: culture we feel like then that means it's unfair or
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: there instantly if if if who's not in that?
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: I don't know?
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: Is that?
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: How is that how the court system is for anyone? Well,
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: I see, I have a question. If you're a woman
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: and you look over and there's no woman in the.
- 1:41:58Speaker 12: What is that?
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: What they call that bias or sex?
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: I wouldn't imagine. So, because my question is canby what
- 1:42:07Speaker 6: do you? How do we define a peer? It says
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: a jury of your peers. Now, we've discussed here many
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: times that I've got a lot more in common with
- 1:42:20Speaker 6: a white guy from the Midwest than I've got with
- 1:42:23Speaker 6: a black guy from the state of Florida. I'm not
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: from Florida. I have no point of reference about Florida.
- 1:42:31Speaker 6: The white dude from Midwest doot talking about sausage dogs
- 1:42:36Speaker 6: and uh sport peppers and and all of that, and hockey,
- 1:42:41Speaker 6: and I'm right along with him. And then this dude
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: says something about road kill, and automatically I'm thinking violence.
- 1:42:48Speaker 6: So when we talk about our peers, is that not
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: our socio economic group as well?
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: Not just our art, it was gender or our race.
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's gonna be people made up of
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: who lives in that area, in that camp.
- 1:43:03Speaker 6: I'm saying, I live on the block where there are
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: nine houses, two black family, but we've been neighbors for audience.
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: It's on the on the legal teams to select these jurors.
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: And from what I've read, the black jurors were potential
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: jurors were struck down, Like the prosecutor struck those down.
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: I don't know if it was because they were black.
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: I can't well, let me, I can't affirm that. But
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: on the other things there, I asked you guys earlier
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: about the DA. Uh, the DA goes to families and
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: at least discuss with them what we're gonna do of
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: what charge? Is that not common?
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: Or do I have that wrong of the family or
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: for the no to Austin Metcalf, regardless of whether he
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: knew his dad or not. I'm quite sure in a
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: town like Frisco, you might the DA gohoes the prosecutor. Yes,
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: we talked about this family, I would you would think so.
- 1:44:12Speaker 6: Yes, Hey, listen, these are the charges that we can
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: prove and get a conviction, what we're going to be
- 1:44:18Speaker 6: seeking and what we're going to be seeking in this
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: So that's not a no, no, that's not a secret thing.
- 1:44:24Speaker 6: That's something that they share openly. Uh, not only with
- 1:44:27Speaker 6: the victim's family, but the person being charged as well
- 1:44:31Speaker 6: has to know what they're being charged with and have
- 1:44:36Speaker 6: time to develop a defense against those charges. So I
- 1:44:40Speaker 6: just wondered about the when we talk about a jury
- 1:44:43Speaker 6: of our peers, We've had a lot of females on
- 1:44:48Speaker 6: trial for things where they were just regardless of the
- 1:44:51Speaker 6: color they were, just the jury was heavy with men.
- 1:44:54Speaker 6: So you can't just always say, you know, that's disqualifying,
- 1:44:58Speaker 6: or can you?
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: New York passing a bill two days ago where they
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: are going to let alcohol be served to four a
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: m for until the twenty first, with the World Cup
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: starting up from today and to the twenty first, they're
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: going to let it across the state. Okay, so everyone
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: in the state, regardless of what you know, because in
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: different parts in Buffalo versus in Queens, the whole state,
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: it will be allowed to serve alcohol until four eight m.
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: So Rochester, get ready until the twenty first. Get ready?
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: I think that is the So they got, they got
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: ten days Tuesday, Well, well Tuesday July twenty first, maybe
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: I have it wrong. I got to look at July
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: twenty first they got is that weeks? Is that for
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: the World Cup? Is that a recipe for disaster?
- 1:46:02Speaker 6: If something happens to me after what would have usually
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: been normal alcohol sales hours? Can I say that you're
- 1:46:10Speaker 6: liable for that? If I look over the statistics and
- 1:46:15Speaker 6: we used to stop selling it one and after one
- 1:46:18Speaker 6: there were six traffic accidents. Now we sold to four
- 1:46:23Speaker 6: and by five thirty am most of those mornings there
- 1:46:26Speaker 6: were fifteen accidents minimum.
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: Is that on your watch? I don't know. I wouldn't
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: say that.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: I think the governor and the state are trying to
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: maximize profits. Oh yeah, absolutely, and maximize of the crowd.
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: You're bringing a world crowd to a city that's the
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: world anyway, You're not surprised. They're just trying to sync up. Yeah,
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: so everyone is blanketed because they have different you know,
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: some areas is one am, some areas is two am.
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: You know, they're sinking that the whole state of New York,
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: basically for the next six weeks, would have a pass
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: to stay open to four am serving alcohol. And we've
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: lived here in Atlanta where four am used to be uh,
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: and they changed it down to two am after some
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: different two thirty or whatever.
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: And that when the city became Linge Twin. Remember we
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: used to turn up on Far Road why and they
- 1:47:27Speaker 6: used to do so.
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: But I think that but it used to be that
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: way to get people to want to come, to want
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: to come, yes, yeah, and then too many people came
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: and they and it got too wild and it was like,
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: this is a bad idea, and the package doors never
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: will open on Sundays. But because of demographics of people
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: moving here, it had to. They had to eve all
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: to start.
- 1:47:48Speaker 6: And now this is there are no they didn't. They
- 1:47:53Speaker 6: didn't have to do that. They decided to the decided
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: because of money. Everybody in the South, and people can adjust.
- 1:48:00Speaker 6: You're telling me you're not serving alcohol on Sunday at
- 1:48:03Speaker 6: the package store doesn't mean anything. The big Kenny, He's
- 1:48:06Speaker 6: just boy a twelve pack Saritay.
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: And if I missed that, I go to my boot
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: lagger on Sunday for the next county.
- 1:48:14Speaker 21: Ye.
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody know how to do it.
- 1:48:20Speaker 6: I just got tired of seeing the money getting good
- 1:48:22Speaker 6: and yo, I got tired of seeing it. I just
- 1:48:25Speaker 6: where the money go somewhere else.
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: I'm on my ship.
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: I ran the numbers and realized that little package store
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: across the state line right there was clocking one hundred
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: and fifty thous on Sunday alone. So we ain't letting
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: that happen no more. We'll be back more to Sports
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: Jock Show right after this.
- 1:48:42Speaker 12: I see my line.
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: I did it. Didd's Ben Cliff.
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: You know if we dropping down saying you against, but.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: You never.
- 1:48:52Speaker 8: Don't boy, Wayne Board of the Sports John Show with
- 1:48:54Speaker 8: Wayne Gandias coming up next.
- 1:48:58Speaker 31: Nobody had to tell your parents not to drive, all
- 1:49:01Speaker 31: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:49:05Speaker 31: us kids and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the
- 1:49:08Speaker 31: cause of more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 1:49:12Speaker 31: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 1:49:15Speaker 31: phones and focus on the roads.
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: Drive safe, everybody, don't drive distracted.
- 1:49:21Speaker 24: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:49:23Speaker 24: Safety Administration, Project yellow Light, and the AD Council.
- 1:49:28Speaker 10: And now let's talk about something exciting. Life insurance.
- 1:49:31Speaker 9: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:49:34Speaker 9: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 1:49:38Speaker 9: have life insurance.
- 1:49:39Speaker 29: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:49:41Speaker 29: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: Life insurance, Well, it's the last thing on my mind.
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: What about you?
- 1:49:46Speaker 10: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:49:49Speaker 29: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:49:50Speaker 29: bills piling up, I was worried how my family was
- 1:49:52Speaker 29: survived without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:49:54Speaker 29: the insurance informant.
- 1:49:56Speaker 9: Information gives you power, and life insurance gives your family
- 1:49:59Speaker 9: security matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:50:01Speaker 29: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I'll
- 1:50:04Speaker 29: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:50:06Speaker 20: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:50:08Speaker 20: whether you earn a little or a lot, all you
- 1:50:10Speaker 20: need is the insurance informant to help you build a
- 1:50:13Speaker 20: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:50:16Speaker 20: two options, benefits or bills?
- 1:50:19Speaker 9: Which legacy will you leave behind? Log on today, benefits
- 1:50:23Speaker 9: or bills dot com? That's benefits or bills dot com.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: And now back to the sports job, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:34Speaker 23: Now it's time put a school board where we put
- 1:50:37Speaker 23: a spin on life and sports and how they intermingle.
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: On the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: We're running a rat run this rap free way, we
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: run this swap way back to this wy shock Shan,
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: I'm this boy shock Way Kenda. Quarterback Deshaun Watson says
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: he's eager to start again for the Browns quarterback battle
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: going on again?
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: Uh lot going on?
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: Dylan Gabriel up there, shoulder Sanders, Deshaun Watson, I told
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: you how I would do. I would go to Shawn
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: quarterback one. I'm more of a guy that likes to
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: get things out the way. That's how I really look
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: at it. Let us get the things out of it.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: I would rather go with DeShawn similar like I said
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: last year, it went just like I thought, this should
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: go with Flacco Gabriel. So when I land on your door,
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: I ain't got no question, y'all, ain't got no question.
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: I don't have to worry about him coming to the sideline.
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: This year, I would do the same thing. I would
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: go with DeShawn at least to start the preseason, then
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: go with Shador and I would be trying to trade
- 1:52:00Speaker 3: Gabriel to someone who's still trying to see if I
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: can get me a third round pick. I would rather
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: day one Deshaun start and let me see that he
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: can't handle it. So when I put the Shador in there,
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: I don't have to go back to Deshaun. I don't
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: have to worry about the side eye. I had to
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: be worried while you got your arms crossed over here.
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: Remember I gave him two games. You know you don't
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: remember I gave them two games?
- 1:52:27Speaker 6: Right, So anytime I'm looking at you and you side
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: eye and me, I can be like what you looking
- 1:52:32Speaker 6: at me?
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: Staying upside my head for the shu what it is, because.
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: The other way it ends up with a different You
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: put Shad in there, Chadure has a little struggle because
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: remember he's not going to catch anybody off guard now anymore.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: They got film on him.
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: They can see you his dudes, and don't Cleveland has
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: gotten rid of a lot of guys when they're offensive linemen.
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: The best guard they have just retired. They've already had
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: a o line problems. That got rid of Miles Garrett.
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: Because in a sense, they look like they're in a rebuild,
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: and so I need to knock that domino. I'm just
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: telling you how I would approach it. I like to
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: knock that domino because I don't want to have to
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: worry about well, you think what the struggles of s
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: door you need to put. I wanted to be the
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: other way and struggle didn't work out. Now I can
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: move on now the picture in the field because I
- 1:53:25Speaker 3: traded dealing Gabriel and I let the Shawn, So now
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: I can really build around and give Shader the whole
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: game plan without having to answer any questions. If that's
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: how it's going on. Top of the Shawn is making
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: more than everybody on the team want, so I actually
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: want to put him in, and I hope it works out.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: I'm saying every time I signed your check, I'm rooting
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: for you, sir. I'm pulling for you.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: Need some of that two.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: I don't even want it back. I just want you
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: to earn it.
- 1:54:00Speaker 6: You can, you can keep it if you get on
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: the field and do more than stare at me on
- 1:54:06Speaker 6: hey day.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: I'm saying I'm tired of you looking at me.
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: Look at you at least three games. Come on, do something,
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: get us, get fail fail, do something. That's what I'm saying,
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: I'm tired of looking at you, looking.
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: At me like you. They might be petty though, and
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: even if they start ohing Ford, no DeShawn going back
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: out there, we're getting our mods worthy. All I'm saying
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: is this the worst contract in history. If you gave.
- 1:54:35Speaker 6: If you gave a barber seven haircuts worth of payments
- 1:54:40Speaker 6: up front and four times he done screwed your haircut up.
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: You just looking at three more messter haircuts. I mean,
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. I can't get my money.
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: I'm saying you can't get your money back.
- 1:54:51Speaker 6: You just looking at three more bad haircuts. Bro, I'm
- 1:54:53Speaker 6: gonna get the he gotta work this contract out.
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: Like Charles Barks. I want them to fire me, saying
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: CARDI d he's because they fired me. They got to pay.
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: They got to pay me with them here are not.
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: Michael Royals, as we talked about, the thirty eight year
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: old baseball coach has been suspended for life. Some information
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: you guys I think may have been alluding to it.
- 1:55:20Speaker 3: His son did get a five year suspension as well,
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: So basically his son won't be pitching any I guess
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: they would have to move counties or something right states
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: to even get back on because he's twelve, thirteen years old.
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: But and looking at his record, he had already been
- 1:55:39Speaker 3: involved with the law a couple of times, had been arrested,
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: had had you know, some short jail stints. I know,
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: it's just little league, but how did he is it
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: just that he's hometown and you know how like when
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: you're in your hometown, we kind of disregard little dust ups. Yeah, wrongfully,
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: we do it, but it's kind of like we know
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: that Abraham is a little lightweight. But he volunteered to
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: be the coach.
- 1:56:13Speaker 6: He did volunteer and I mean, I don't nobody get
- 1:56:16Speaker 6: paid to do this, and he willing to do it.
- 1:56:19Speaker 6: And they done won a few games, and of course
- 1:56:22Speaker 6: a couple of kids got hit with a baseball in
- 1:56:24Speaker 6: the duet.
- 1:56:25Speaker 3: Because when you look at his record in it sounds,
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: you know, it's a little domestic violence here.
- 1:56:31Speaker 6: How you've become a head coach of a little it's
- 1:56:36Speaker 6: winning all that matters to us.
- 1:56:38Speaker 7: Yeah, because they're supposed to do a background check. Now
- 1:56:40Speaker 7: it's a national background check for.
- 1:56:43Speaker 6: The coaches, because this easily could have been what everyone involved, right,
- 1:56:48Speaker 6: because his his background could have easily had other things
- 1:56:52Speaker 6: in it, other crimes that would have been detrimental to
- 1:56:54Speaker 6: children and families and all those kinds of things, and
- 1:56:57Speaker 6: it ended up being that way. So do you think
- 1:57:00Speaker 6: that him getting caught, or this incident being highlighted will
- 1:57:05Speaker 6: now put a stronger hold on youth.
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: Baseball to be more diligent in their background checks.
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: I mean, I would imagine they are probably diligent they already,
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: but locally that old.
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: Kind of home boy Kenny is a criminal, but he ain't.
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: We all, you may have that guy with that clean
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: record who's still trying to live out his major league
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: baseball dreams and have it and like that. For what
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: he had that kid do, that's something that you would
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: see in major league baseball. Maybe I mean, not throw
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: at the dugout, but maybe like, okay, we gotta they
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: did something, so now we gotta throw at their next batter.
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: Did you see having those unwritten rules in little league baseball?
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I've only I've only ever seen hit the bat batter.
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: Thing I've ever seen throwing the dugout is in a movie,
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: some kind of what was a major leading Maybe that
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: was what he was going for, but people do make allowances.
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: Did you see the Canadian pilot who didn't have real
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: credentials and been flying for like a decade, hundreds of flights,
- 1:58:17Speaker 3: he's flown thousands, and he really didn't have a legitimate
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: pilot's license.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: And we are in the ocean. The truth is he
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: will throw your in the ocean.
- 1:58:31Speaker 23: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Jut

- 1:59:47Speaker 3: Victor Women, Yampa Castle and all the rest of the
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: spurds deep down in the oas the greatest collapse in
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: nb A playoff finals history. Up twenty nine and then
- 2:00:09Speaker 3: down one.
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: You had the championship right there.
- 2:00:16Speaker 3: No matter how much winning you do, going full can
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: always remember that night in the guard where you gave
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: up a twenty nine point lead to go home to
- 2:00:30Speaker 3: two in a best of seven series. Just a total
- 2:00:36Speaker 3: co lapse by the Spurs players on the bench. So
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: an autumn guy, No, not the whole organization. The only
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: person ain't in the ocean is the pilot because he
- 2:00:45Speaker 3: got him there on time.
- 2:00:46Speaker 27: He did.
- 2:00:47Speaker 6: He did the bus driving, They got the transportation, did
- 2:00:50Speaker 6: they And we're looking at the bus driving, were looking
- 2:00:53Speaker 6: at him a little. But the rest of you for
- 2:00:56Speaker 6: the San Antonio Spurs just get gave it up last night.
- 2:01:12Speaker 6: I guess we'll be in y'all the only people really
- 2:01:17Speaker 6: understanding of the Falcons. Like Man, it happened. Sometimes it
- 2:01:21Speaker 6: happened sometimes ball y'all shouldn't.
- 2:01:24Speaker 2: Be like that been.
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: Uh, Matt Ryan woke up happy this morning. See I
- 2:01:29Speaker 3: told you, I told y'all get off my back. Stop
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: that man, get off my back. But from the Sports
