- 0:09Speaker 1: So, is this your first time in Detroit? Yeah, first time. Yeah,
- 0:12Speaker 1: what do you think about it? It's fucking pretty sick, dude.
- 0:15Speaker 1: It's not bad, huh? Yeah, no, it's not bad at all.
- 0:17Speaker 1: You know, I'm from New York originally, so I'm, like,
- 0:20Speaker 1: used to a big city. I lived in Astoria, Queens
- 0:22Speaker 1: for a really long time, and it's nice to, like,
- 0:25Speaker 1: be back in, like, a city feel. It's pretty fucked
- 0:28Speaker 1: up how, like, my brain, what my brain was already
- 0:31Speaker 1: interpreting Detroit to be like. Yeah, yeah. Because it wasn't good,
- 0:35Speaker 1: to be honest with you. I know, yeah. You know
- 0:36Speaker 1: what I mean? Like, I think that just growing up
- 0:39Speaker 1: and hearing, like, when, like, the, you know, the automotive
- 0:42Speaker 1: industry boomed and it happened and then everything was, like,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Detroit was, like, the fucking economic capital of the country
- 0:50Speaker 1: at one point and then everything happened and then went bust.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And I remember just, like, years ago seeing online, like, homes...
- 0:57Speaker 1: like these dilapidated rundown homes. Nobody lives in them anymore
- 1:00Speaker 1: for like a hundred bucks. You can buy them for
- 1:02Speaker 1: like a hundred dollars. Yeah. Seeing that shit. So I
- 1:05Speaker 1: don't know what I was expecting, but it is the
- 1:08Speaker 1: complete opposite. I was expecting eight miles. Like I was like, yo,
- 1:12Speaker 1: like it's going to be wild out there. And then
- 1:14Speaker 1: I was like, all right, I got to have on
- 1:15Speaker 1: a swivel head on a swivel.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I was like, all right. And then I, I roll
- 1:19Speaker 2: in here and I'm like.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Hey, it's, it's pretty cool. And it has a really
- 1:21Speaker 1: good vibe, a really good feel.
- 1:23Speaker 2: And then in this area– well, I mean, because I've
- 1:25Speaker 2: only been in this area so far in downtown, but
- 1:27Speaker 2: usually downtown is like– I mean, L.A.
- 1:28Speaker 1: 's downtown is terrible. Sucks. So it's like– Sucks, dude.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I thought I would be– I thought, like, that's what
- 1:35Speaker 1: I was coming into in Detroit.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You know, like an L.A. version– Of Detroit. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Of East Coast L.A. version. Yeah. That's exactly what I
- 1:45Speaker 1: thought as well. But our friend Megan moved out here,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and– was like, oh, I love it. I love it.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I was like, really? And she's like, yeah, I love it.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, cool. So that already changed my, like, okay, well,
- 1:59Speaker 1: I'm sure it's not what I'm expecting, but I'm glad
- 2:02Speaker 1: that Megan loves it and she feels safe there. Awesome.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I can't wait to get there. Yeah. I get there.
- 2:06Speaker 1: First of all, I didn't know how close Detroit was
- 2:08Speaker 1: to Canada. Me neither. Me neither. I was like, hey,
- 2:11Speaker 1: if you take this left, you're in Canada. If you
- 2:13Speaker 1: don't take it. No, I got in late. I was
- 2:15Speaker 1: trying to find a dispensary because I like to fuck
- 2:18Speaker 1: with those, like... The drinks? The drinks. Oh, really? Yeah. So,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and it was already getting late. It was like nine something.
- 2:25Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, this dispensary is close. It's
- 2:27Speaker 1: like 1.6 miles. I'll just Uber over there real quick.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And then when I called him, I was like calling
- 2:31Speaker 1: the number just to make sure, to see what time
- 2:33Speaker 1: they were going to be open and just to double check.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And then it said like Windsor, Canada. I was like, Canada?
- 2:37Speaker 1: What the fuck? I was like, I'm calling a dispensary
- 2:40Speaker 1: in Canada? That's 1.6 miles away from here? It's crazy.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I was telling Ronnie, I was like, I go, it's
- 2:47Speaker 2: almost as if like, Because El Paso is like that, too. Like,
- 2:50Speaker 2: if you go to downtown El Paso, there's a spot
- 2:53Speaker 2: where you could, there's a little land, a little land bridge,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I mean, a walking bridge.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And you just walk over into Mexico. Damn. And it's like,
- 3:00Speaker 1: it costs 50 cents. Wow. It costs 50 cents just
- 3:01Speaker 1: to walk over to Mexico. I was like, oh, this
- 3:03Speaker 1: is crazy. That is crazy.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And then, so, like, here, I was telling her, too,
- 3:06Speaker 2: I was like, I pull off this exit. One exit
- 3:08Speaker 2: is just to downtown. And the exit is like, yo,
- 3:11Speaker 2: this is taking you right to Canada.
- 3:12Speaker 1: No, there's, like, a tunnel and a bridge, it looked like. Yeah. Yeah. And, yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I had no idea. I'd actually look on a map.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Every time I travel, I go on Google Maps. Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And then I kind of just zoom out so I
- 3:23Speaker 1: can see where I am in the country or the world,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and I just take a little screenshot. Yeah. So then
- 3:28Speaker 1: I can always go back through those and be like, man,
- 3:30Speaker 1: look at all these cool places that I've been. There's
- 3:32Speaker 1: so many places you could just drive to for a
- 3:34Speaker 1: day and come back. From here? Yeah. I know, dude.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I know. I was like, oh, I'm this close to, like,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Chicago doesn't even stand that far. Like, I don't think
- 3:41Speaker 1: anybody would want to go to Ohio, but you can
- 3:43Speaker 1: if you wanted to. You know what I'm saying? It's
- 3:45Speaker 1: like less than an hour, I think. It's close. It's insane.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I was like, oh, so, especially like when you watch football,
- 3:50Speaker 2: you're like, oh, they don't even have to travel that
- 3:52Speaker 2: far to go from one game to the next.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And Detroit is such a good, like, sports city anyway with, like,
- 3:58Speaker 1: the Red Wings and the Lions, you know. I mean,
- 4:02Speaker 1: the cool thing about, like, this club and its location
- 4:04Speaker 1: is right across the street is the stadium where the
- 4:06Speaker 1: Tigers play. Yeah, yeah. Dude, I was like, as soon
- 4:09Speaker 1: as I got in, I was like, I already knew
- 4:11Speaker 1: Pistons were out of the NBA finals.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I was like, oh, shit. I was like, well, that's
- 4:15Speaker 2: kind of a good thing. But then I was like, oh, baseball.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And I was like, I like baseball. And then I
- 4:21Speaker 2: seen that they were playing. And I was like, oh,
- 4:22Speaker 2: they're playing Seattle. So I could definitely root for the
- 4:25Speaker 2: Detroit because I'm an A's fan.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, this is dope. It's a
- 4:28Speaker 1: really sweet little area. And then the club is great.
- 4:30Speaker 1: The club is amazing, bro. Yeah. It's just the whole–
- 4:33Speaker 1: I'm just impressed by the whole city. My Uber driver
- 4:36Speaker 1: was telling me when he was bringing me in here
- 4:37Speaker 1: that Detroit is so safe. You can walk around. You
- 4:39Speaker 1: don't have to worry about anything. There's the police presence
- 4:42Speaker 1: is good, but they don't fuck with you. They just
- 4:43Speaker 1: want to make sure that they're they just want people
- 4:45Speaker 1: to see that they're around. So you don't fuck around. Yeah. Things,
- 4:48Speaker 1: you know, and that's totally the impression that I got,
- 4:51Speaker 1: because you'll see police presence, but they're standing outside. They're
- 4:54Speaker 1: talking to each other. They're laughing. People know them and
- 4:56Speaker 1: they stop and talk to them. But just having them
- 4:58Speaker 1: around showing, you know, it just it just it just.
- 5:01Speaker 1: It's just that's what the Uber driver was saying that, like,
- 5:03Speaker 1: helped clean up and make the city, like, kind of
- 5:05Speaker 1: a safe feel. And, like, there's just, like, this park
- 5:07Speaker 1: that stretches all the way through. The views from where
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm staying are incredible. I'm really impressed, man. Detroit looks
- 5:12Speaker 1: fucking dope.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Dude, I'm, like, I'm glad that we have a club
- 5:16Speaker 2: here now. So it's, like, because, like, being here, I'm, like,
- 5:18Speaker 2: I want to come back. I want to come back
- 5:19Speaker 2: when there's, like. a Michigan football game. I was like, yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 2: I'd like to come back. I'd like to schedule some
- 5:27Speaker 2: stand-up when there's like, when the season's happening.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I was like, that'd be dope, man. I really like
- 5:33Speaker 1: it too.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And also too, I noticed it's really, for some reason,
- 5:37Speaker 2: I don't know, for me, it seems very neat in
- 5:41Speaker 2: structure and it does also have this little town feel
- 5:45Speaker 2: to it a little bit.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It's so weird. It is weird. Because it feels like,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it's so weird cause I'm still trying to grasp like
- 5:54Speaker 1: how big the downtown Detroit is because sometimes you go
- 5:57Speaker 1: to like some smaller cities and they have a little downtown,
- 6:00Speaker 1: but like you can literally, it's, it's, it's just that
- 6:02Speaker 1: a little downtown. Yeah. You know, this is a bigger
- 6:06Speaker 1: city that feels like a little downtown because it just,
- 6:09Speaker 1: it feels clean. It feels like you still have that
- 6:12Speaker 1: big city feel, but it doesn't feel like, you know,
- 6:15Speaker 1: New York city doesn't even feel like, like, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 1: the city of like San Francisco, which is also another
- 6:20Speaker 1: good size city. Um, it has that homey feel that like,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I don't know, it's got, it's definitely got like a
- 6:28Speaker 1: soul to it. I love like cities with souls, you
- 6:30Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? This is definitely one of them.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I can't wait to check out the food scene here too.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Like I don't even, I haven't even like touched, like
- 6:36Speaker 2: I was talking to Ronnie and she was like, oh,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you got to go to this place, got to go
- 6:39Speaker 2: to that place. And it's like, we haven't even like
- 6:42Speaker 2: seen the tip of it. Just like, we just, yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 2: you know? Yeah, like Detroit style pizza.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yes. You know? Yeah, yeah. I haven't tried it yet,
- 6:49Speaker 1: but I'm here, so I got to get it, you know?
- 6:51Speaker 1: But I want to make sure I get it from
- 6:52Speaker 1: like the right spot. Yeah. I didn't know that you
- 6:54Speaker 1: lived in New York, though, for a while. That's where
- 6:56Speaker 1: I was born and raised. That's great. So when did
- 6:59Speaker 1: you get to San Diego? I moved to San Diego
- 7:01Speaker 1: like 13 years ago, so maybe like 2013. Okay. Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So growing up in New York, what kind of scene
- 7:10Speaker 1: were you in? I didn't start doing stand-up until– is
- 7:15Speaker 1: that what.
- 7:16Speaker 2: You're talking about? Any scene, like skateboarding or what you
- 7:19Speaker 2: call it? Because you're big into photography as well.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, I, dude, I grew up like, I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I like everything. Yeah. I grew up, I love, I
- 7:30Speaker 1: was like in the car scene. Um, but like in
- 7:34Speaker 1: the music scene, I used to be in a band
- 7:35Speaker 1: with my friends. Uh, like it was a seven piece
- 7:37Speaker 1: ska band. We used to play like punk ska music. Uh,
- 7:41Speaker 1: we won our, our, uh, our talent show two years
- 7:43Speaker 1: in a row, junior year and my senior year of
- 7:46Speaker 1: high school. Um, But I also wanted to be a director.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So I went to school for film and television and
- 7:54Speaker 1: became a photographer. And then now I'm doing stand-up and photography.
- 7:59Speaker 1: A lot of videography, too. Yeah, okay. Because that was
- 8:02Speaker 1: really what I wanted to do. But then it kind
- 8:04Speaker 1: of fell in. I started working for HBO and 20th
- 8:07Speaker 1: Century Fox right out of college. And you start at
- 8:10Speaker 1: the bottom, bottom. Like mailroom shit. Yeah, I was the
- 8:12Speaker 1: stage manager PA. So I had to be the first
- 8:20Speaker 1: one there to open the entire stage. We were filming
- 8:23Speaker 1: in Bayonne, New Jersey. And I would wake up at
- 8:27Speaker 1: 4 o'clock in the morning, shower, drive to Bayonne, New Jersey.
- 8:33Speaker 1: But I would have to stop at a gas station
- 8:35Speaker 1: and grab different types of newspapers. I would have to
- 8:39Speaker 1: stop at Dunkin' Donuts and grab different donuts and coffee.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And I had to bring all that shit. So when
- 8:45Speaker 1: I opened the stage, I would set it all out.
- 8:47Speaker 1: turn all the lights on. And then when like each
- 8:50Speaker 1: department would show up, there'd be food and donuts and
- 8:53Speaker 1: coffee and papers and shit for them. So that was awful.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But the rest of the day was dope because it
- 8:59Speaker 1: was like a union job. So like I wasn't, I
- 9:01Speaker 1: couldn't do anybody else's job because like sometimes I just
- 9:04Speaker 1: get bored and I'm like, let me just sweep around.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So one time I was like sweeping up all the
- 9:07Speaker 1: sawdust and they were like, yeah, yeah, yeah, put that down.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You can't do that shit. That's our job. I was like, okay. Yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 1: they get pissed. They're like, yo, you're taking my job
- 9:15Speaker 1: over here, buddy. Yeah. Fuck you doing?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like if you start doing that, then it
- 9:21Speaker 2: looks like I don't have nothing. They'll start getting rid
- 9:23Speaker 2: of me type of shit. The union is very specific.
- 9:25Speaker 2: It's almost like it was immediate. Like, yo, you're not even.
- 9:34Speaker 1: even though you want to do it and it's cool
- 9:36Speaker 1: with us, you're not allowed to fucking do that shit.
- 9:39Speaker 1: We love the gesture. I was bored the whole time.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I was watching them build the set. There was a show,
- 9:47Speaker 1: it was called The Jury, and Fox bought it for
- 9:50Speaker 1: 13 episodes, and then they canceled it after that. But
- 9:53Speaker 1: they had to build everything. They had to build the courtrooms.
- 9:56Speaker 1: They had to build. And the cool thing about it,
- 9:58Speaker 1: it was also on the same set where they filmed Oz.
- 10:00Speaker 1: You remember Oz, that show? Yeah, I remember Oz. Yeah, HBO, yeah, definitely. Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 1: it was on the same place. So we still had
- 10:06Speaker 1: that set all there. So all day long, they're building
- 10:10Speaker 1: and moving shit back and forth. And finally, when they
- 10:14Speaker 1: started shooting, it got really cool. Because it's awesome to
- 10:17Speaker 1: be on set when they're filming. Yeah. But then those
- 10:21Speaker 1: hours got, like, super long because of, like, call times
- 10:24Speaker 1: and SAG rules. And then because I was the first
- 10:26Speaker 1: one in and the last one out, bro, there was
- 10:28Speaker 1: times I'm doing, like, 14, 15-hour days. And then I
- 10:31Speaker 1: had to drive all the way back home. Oh, yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Especially in L.A. traffic. No, this was in New York. Oh,
- 10:37Speaker 1: this was in New York. Okay, I'm sorry. New Jersey.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It was in New Jersey. That's right. Okay, okay. But, yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: in the traffic, like, on a Friday night, sometimes it
- 10:44Speaker 1: would take me three hours to get home. Fuck you.
- 10:48Speaker 1: So it was just crazy. And by the time the
- 10:50Speaker 1: weekend came, like Saturday, fucking forget it, dude. I'm not
- 10:53Speaker 1: waking up early. There's nothing I'm doing. I'm exhausted. And
- 10:55Speaker 1: then finally, Saturday night comes. I might go out with
- 10:58Speaker 1: my friends. And then Sunday, I'm already like, oh, fuck.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I got to go to bed early tonight. And I
- 11:01Speaker 1: got work tomorrow. So it was grueling. It would have
- 11:04Speaker 1: been a lot better if I lived closer. And if
- 11:06Speaker 1: I did those hours, I would have been able to
- 11:09Speaker 1: become the next thing. And then you could be an AD,
- 11:12Speaker 1: which is the assistant director. And then you had to
- 11:13Speaker 1: do like I forgot the exact amount of hours, but
- 11:16Speaker 1: thousands of hours among, like, next to the director. And
- 11:20Speaker 1: then after that, you can become a director and start
- 11:24Speaker 1: directing your own show. Interesting. I didn't know there was, like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: it was almost like you got to put in time
- 11:29Speaker 1: for it. I thought it was just like, oh, okay,
- 11:31Speaker 1: that's what you want to do. Then you just have
- 11:33Speaker 1: to figure out how to get projects to do it. Oh, okay.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So it's, like, it's in that aspect. Oh, interesting. Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 1: It's totally different than what, like, I'm sure. Things have
- 11:42Speaker 1: totally changed, and that's the most frustrating part about going
- 11:45Speaker 1: to college, learning film, television, learning how to do everything right,
- 11:47Speaker 1: the right frame rates, the lighting, white balance, everything. Hiding
- 11:51Speaker 1: lav mics, you know what I'm saying? And now, you're
- 11:54Speaker 1: watching these 20-year-old kids who don't know shit about dick.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Just recording on anything that they have. Using their headphone mic.
- 12:03Speaker 1: In automotive. Yeah. Like using a DJI mic clipped to
- 12:07Speaker 1: a wooden spoon. Yeah. Or just holding it. I've seen
- 12:11Speaker 1: someone holding it. That irritates me. I hate that big,
- 12:13Speaker 1: giant one. It pisses me off, dude. It pisses me off.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I don't like the way it looks. It's just aesthetically ugly.
- 12:19Speaker 1: It's so ugly. And then some people, and the road
- 12:21Speaker 1: ones are even worse. You know, the big roads. And
- 12:24Speaker 1: then people put them in their shirt and they clip
- 12:25Speaker 1: and they hang and they look like an asshole. And
- 12:27Speaker 1: they don't care. Nobody cares. You look at the views.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's all about the content. It's all about, yeah. And
- 12:33Speaker 1: that's the thing. My brother said to me a long
- 12:36Speaker 1: time ago, because I was always a PlayStation guy over him,
- 12:38Speaker 1: and he used to be an Xbox guy. I think
- 12:40Speaker 1: he's converted now and he's more of a PlayStation guy.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But back in the day, we used to argue, oh,
- 12:44Speaker 1: PlayStation's better than... And then my brother Tim would be like, yo,
- 12:48Speaker 1: look at Nintendo, because their shit isn't... They're not trying
- 12:52Speaker 1: to compete with the best processing speeds and graphics like
- 12:56Speaker 1: Microsoft and Sony are doing. But their games are so
- 12:59Speaker 1: fun that nobody gives a shit. It's not about the graphics.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It's just about the content. That's what draws in the people.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And it's the same thing with video. It doesn't matter.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Because for me, I'm like, no, I'm going to shoot
- 13:12Speaker 1: with an ND filter at 24 frames per second because
- 13:16Speaker 1: this is the right way to do it. And other
- 13:17Speaker 1: people just auto. And just don't give a fuck. But
- 13:21Speaker 1: as long as the content's good, the viewers don't give
- 13:23Speaker 1: a shit. They don't care.
- 13:24Speaker 2: They don't care how they're feeling. They don't care how
- 13:25Speaker 2: it's made. They're just like, does it taste good? And
- 13:27Speaker 2: on top of that, sometimes it doesn't even taste good.
- 13:28Speaker 2: It's just like, I'm just used to this. I'm just
- 13:30Speaker 2: used to this, whatever you serve. It's funny because you
- 13:34Speaker 2: were talking about also things changing. You learn how to
- 13:38Speaker 2: do these things, and then that changes. But also, too,
- 13:41Speaker 2: even frame rates all of a sudden change, too. Or
- 13:44Speaker 2: even cameras get so updated to where a point it's like, oh, well,
- 13:48Speaker 2: everything that I learned on doesn't even matter.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And the fucked up thing about it was like, it doesn't,
- 13:51Speaker 1: it will, that was only five years ago. It's so fast. Bro,
- 13:55Speaker 1: it's crazy. Cause I remember, so I graduated high school
- 13:58Speaker 1: in 99. So I was in college, the rest, like
- 14:01Speaker 1: the later part of 99, 2000, 2001, 2002. Right. So, um,
- 14:05Speaker 1: at that time, HDTVs were coming out. Yeah. Like the
- 14:09Speaker 1: first flat screens were coming out. And I remember the
- 14:11Speaker 1: teachers telling us like, yo, we used to be, used
- 14:14Speaker 1: to get away with like, just bullshit, staging and like
- 14:20Speaker 1: something that's plastic that you can paint to make it
- 14:24Speaker 1: look like it's I don't know what that container on
- 14:26Speaker 1: top of that refrigerator is but he's like with HD
- 14:32Speaker 1: we're not really going to be able to get away
- 14:33Speaker 1: with that anymore so the crafts department the department the
- 14:39Speaker 1: design department they all have to step up and get
- 14:42Speaker 1: better shit so it doesn't look so cheesy and corny
- 14:44Speaker 1: and then where, like, the school had really good equipment,
- 14:48Speaker 1: so we would take out these really nice, you know, digital, but, like,
- 14:51Speaker 1: still recording on tapes, you know, and we would go
- 14:53Speaker 1: to the department to digitize it. So all the film
- 14:56Speaker 1: that we recorded, we would go into the digitizer, stick
- 14:59Speaker 1: the media in there, and then have it digitized to
- 15:02Speaker 1: a digital file that then we can edit. Yeah. With, like,
- 15:06Speaker 1: a program called Avid. I remember Avid. Yeah. It took
- 15:09Speaker 1: hella long to, like, what was the word? Render. Oh, yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 1: It took forever to render. Oh, it was... It was
- 15:16Speaker 1: a totally different process, time-consuming, but, like, you know, to
- 15:22Speaker 1: think now that, like, what, 20 years later, dude, like,
- 15:27Speaker 1: we're recording on our phones in 4K. Yeah. 240 frames
- 15:32Speaker 1: per second in 4K. Yeah, yeah. Slow-mo. Yeah. The lavalier
- 15:39Speaker 1: mics that are just so small. I love the DJI
- 15:43Speaker 1: mic mini. It's small. It's easy to hide. It's got
- 15:50Speaker 1: limiters built in. Some of them have 32-bit float audio,
- 15:54Speaker 1: which I couldn't even imagine having that technology all in
- 15:57Speaker 1: a pocket. in your pockets when I was in film school.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Dude, even when I first started doing podcasts, it was
- 16:03Speaker 2: just all audio, but now everything turned to all video.
- 16:06Speaker 2: And it was like, oh, you need cameras, cameras. But
- 16:09Speaker 2: now I have this podcast set up. It's a portable
- 16:11Speaker 2: podcast set up. And it's like, yo, I have a
- 16:14Speaker 2: studio wherever I go now. And so it's a crazy thing.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And you put it in a backpack, bro. Yeah, I
- 16:20Speaker 1: put it in a backpack. That's like what I'm saying.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You couldn't even fathom having You know, what do you got,
- 16:26Speaker 1: like a three-camera setup here? Yeah. Good audio.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I could have, and I brought two extra. So I
- 16:32Speaker 2: brought two extra cameras in case we want some other
- 16:34Speaker 2: shots or if we get a third guest.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You know, it's like, oh, okay. So it's like, it's
- 16:38Speaker 1: a trip.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And then also, too, with, like, things changing with the
- 16:42Speaker 2: equipment stuff, like, just like in comedy, too, like, everything
- 16:45Speaker 2: changes rapidly. Like, what was is not anymore. Like, even, like, bookers. Like,
- 16:51Speaker 2: that shit changed. Like, oh, I've spent.
- 16:53Speaker 1: All this time. Getting in with this comedy club and now...
- 16:57Speaker 1: That's the hardest part is it does take so long
- 17:00Speaker 1: to get in with a club. It does take so... Oh,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and then they got a new booker. Okay, so who's
- 17:04Speaker 1: the booker over there? Let me try to get in
- 17:05Speaker 1: with this booker. Maybe I couldn't get in with the
- 17:07Speaker 1: other booker. Yeah, I'll be this guy's guy. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 1: And then you finally get in with that booker and
- 17:13Speaker 1: you're getting booked at the show. You're getting booked and
- 17:14Speaker 1: then all of a sudden... that book is gone. He embezzles.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And now you're fucking right back to the drawing board.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It doesn't like roll over. The new booker doesn't just
- 17:23Speaker 1: come in and say like, who was the other booker booking?
- 17:26Speaker 1: So I can keep, you know, in a sense, I
- 17:28Speaker 1: think something like that sometimes, but it's rarely, then you
- 17:31Speaker 1: got to start all over. Well, that's the thing. If you,
- 17:34Speaker 1: if you're in that scene or in that community, yes,
- 17:37Speaker 1: it's easier. But if you're not, if you're from somewhere
- 17:39Speaker 1: else and that was kind of like on your yearly rotation,
- 17:42Speaker 1: you're like, Oh dude, like, no, no, I'm that.
- 17:45Speaker 2: And that's, That's because we're, I mean, same with me,
- 17:47Speaker 2: like in this purgatory of comedy where it's like there's
- 17:51Speaker 2: no managers, no agents, no none of that, no representation
- 17:54Speaker 2: for you. So it's like you have to do everything yourself.
- 17:56Speaker 2: So you've got to constantly keep popping in, hi, emails, da, da, da, da,
- 18:00Speaker 2: type of thing.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I was at a festival one time. I got, there
- 18:05Speaker 1: were two bookers and club owners that gave me paid
- 18:10Speaker 1: work at their clubs. six months later, one of the
- 18:12Speaker 1: clubs closed down, dude. And I was like, fuck dude.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You know what I mean? It's like, it's just, just
- 18:18Speaker 1: what happens, you know, it's, uh, it's frustrating always having
- 18:21Speaker 1: to kind of stay on top of it. But yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 1: just like you said, it's always, it's always changing. That's
- 18:24Speaker 1: just the way that it is. You know, it's always evolving. Um, what, what, uh, so,
- 18:28Speaker 1: so you've been doing sit-up now for probably what, like, uh, six,
- 18:31Speaker 1: seven years. So I actually started in the very end
- 18:34Speaker 1: of 2016, like December, 2016. And, um, And then I
- 18:42Speaker 1: dabbled a little bit in 2017, just because life was
- 18:45Speaker 1: so crazy that year for me personally. And then at
- 18:48Speaker 1: the end of 2017, I really started going a lot.
- 18:50Speaker 1: And then 2018, five nights a week, every week. I
- 18:55Speaker 1: had a notebook where every time I went to a
- 18:56Speaker 1: club and did a spot, every time I went to
- 18:58Speaker 1: a place and did a set, boom, just mark in. five, 10, 15.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And then so it was hundreds and hundreds and hundreds
- 19:04Speaker 1: by the end, by the end of 2018, 2019. Um,
- 19:06Speaker 1: and then I started working at the comedy store in
- 19:12Speaker 1: La Jolla as a door guy. Okay. Very, very end
- 19:14Speaker 1: of the 20 of 2019 worked there for like three
- 19:17Speaker 1: months until the, until the, uh, pandemic shut everything down.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Um, so during that time, like I don't
- 19:24Speaker 1: really count 2020 as like a full year of doing
- 19:27Speaker 1: standup for me because, um, We only did it for
- 19:29Speaker 1: three months. In San Diego, it was really shut down.
- 19:32Speaker 1: We were doing parking lot shows and shit. Yeah. But
- 19:37Speaker 1: I don't really– I'm not going to count that as
- 19:39Speaker 1: a full year. You know what I mean? And then
- 19:41Speaker 1: in 2021, it didn't even like, I remember, I think
- 19:44Speaker 1: it was, like, June 21st is when, like, San Diego and, like, L.A.
- 19:48Speaker 1: and Southern California officially opened up. Yeah. Yeah. Was it
- 19:52Speaker 1: the same up in, were you in Sacramento? No, I left.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I had left.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I moved to Vegas because, like, I went to Vegas
- 19:57Speaker 2: on a just, I went to Reno first to go
- 20:00Speaker 2: place a bet on the playoffs.
- 20:02Speaker 1: And I was like, yo, and when I went to.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Place a bet, the restaurants were open and people were
- 20:08Speaker 2: eating inside without masks.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And then the movie theater was open. And I was like,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I love a movie.
- 20:13Speaker 2: So I was like, yo, I took myself out to
- 20:15Speaker 2: dinner and I went and seen a movie. And I
- 20:17Speaker 2: placed my bet and I was like, yo, if this
- 20:19Speaker 2: is open, then Vegas has to be open because it's Nevada.
- 20:23Speaker 2: So the next day I bought a plane ticket and
- 20:25Speaker 2: I shot over there. And I landed and all the
- 20:28Speaker 2: comics that were out there were Working and hanging out.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Jack Jr.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Was out there, and he was at the Laugh Factory.
- 20:37Speaker 2: And he ends up telling Matt that I'm in town
- 20:40Speaker 2: that owns the Stratosphere, the L.A. Comedy Club inside the Stratosphere.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And he goes, Carl's in town?
- 20:45Speaker 1: He's like, yeah. And he goes, I'm going to call him.
- 20:47Speaker 1: So he calls me.
- 20:47Speaker 2: He's like, hey, man, what are you doing here? And
- 20:48Speaker 2: I was like, I'm just hanging out. He says, well,
- 20:51Speaker 2: I need a feature. Do you mind featuring? And I
- 20:52Speaker 2: was like, not at all. I would love to do
- 20:55Speaker 2: stand-up comedy. So I was like, yeah, dude. He goes,
- 20:57Speaker 2: all right, cool, cool. Uh, for the whole week. And
- 20:59Speaker 2: I was like, yeah. So I just stood there the
- 21:01Speaker 2: whole week and then I was like, this is dope.
- 21:03Speaker 2: And I just, it was all open. And that was,
- 21:05Speaker 2: that was January 6th. That was when they stormed the Capitol.
- 21:08Speaker 2: That was that day.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Oh shit. Yeah. So I, yeah, it was crazy. That's
- 21:14Speaker 1: a great opportunity, dude. You know? Yeah. I'm sure they
- 21:16Speaker 1: were like, when the whole, when the rest of the
- 21:18Speaker 1: country shut down, people just, you know, they just do,
- 21:21Speaker 1: do their own thing, do what, you know, like, and
- 21:23Speaker 1: during that time people were going with people, you know,
- 21:25Speaker 1: they were going to be with some family and, and
- 21:28Speaker 1: then the places that were open, like Vegas.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Um, what did you, you, you, you, you, you were
- 21:34Speaker 2: in San Diego and.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm a wedding photographer and I had like,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I lost every single wedding that I had booked that year.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Cause you know, everything was closed. Um, I was just,
- 21:44Speaker 1: I was doing, I was collecting unemployment and just laying low.
- 21:46Speaker 1: It was, um, just like what everybody else was doing, dude,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you couldn't work, you know, there was nothing really to do. Um,
- 21:54Speaker 1: And I'm a germaphobe already. So I was kind of like, fuck.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I saw it coming, dude. I remember in January that year,
- 22:03Speaker 1: just being on stage. I'm like, you guys worried about
- 22:05Speaker 1: this coronavirus? People in the audience are like, no. And
- 22:08Speaker 1: I was like, oh, shit. You should be. I remember that.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I remember hearing about it. And it would be very faint.
- 22:18Speaker 1: And it was kind of like coronavirus was like, oh, yeah, whatever.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It's like pig flu or bird flu. Or like Ebola
- 22:22Speaker 1: because Ebola right now is popping off in Africa. Yeah.
- 22:25Speaker 1: But I'm not really worried that it's going to come
- 22:27Speaker 1: here because we've seen that pattern so many times growing up. Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Like I remember like even like 10 years ago, it
- 22:32Speaker 1: would be like, oh, Ebola is on the rise. And
- 22:34Speaker 1: then all of a sudden it just goes away. People
- 22:35Speaker 1: aren't really talking about it anymore. So I think a
- 22:37Speaker 1: lot of people thought the same thing was happening with COVID.
- 22:39Speaker 1: With that, yeah. And we had already seen like bird
- 22:42Speaker 1: flu and pig virus. Swine flu. Swine flu, yeah. Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 1: But then, like, some shit popped up on that cruise recently. Oh,
- 22:51Speaker 1: the antivirus? Yeah.
- 22:52Speaker 2: And I was like, why isn't that not being talked about?
- 22:54Speaker 2: That seems a little scary. Because those guys were dying.
- 22:58Speaker 2: People were definitely dying on that boat. They were like, what,
- 23:01Speaker 2: three out of four people succumbed to their illness. I
- 23:03Speaker 2: was like, are you serious?
- 23:05Speaker 1: Dude, there was, what was it, Gene Hackman or whatever? Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I don't know what they died of. Henna virus, bro. Oh, shit.
- 23:12Speaker 1: That's what that was? They died from that shit at
- 23:14Speaker 1: their home in Northern California. Shut the fuck up. They
- 23:17Speaker 1: were found dead in their home, and they were like, dude,
- 23:18Speaker 1: how did these people die? And then it came back
- 23:20Speaker 1: that they had henna virus. They got henna virus. That
- 23:23Speaker 1: comes from mouse shit and rat shit. Oh, okay. And
- 23:28Speaker 1: you get it by touching something that was contaminated with
- 23:31Speaker 1: that and ingesting it. Oh, no. So it's not supposedly...
- 23:37Speaker 1: Not really... like, human to human, like, oh, now you
- 23:42Speaker 1: get it. It's not supposed to be like that. So
- 23:44Speaker 1: that's why they're not really worried about, like, a pandemic.
- 23:46Speaker 1: But if there was rat droppings and some shit on
- 23:48Speaker 1: that cruise, then people were fucking with it. Or they
- 23:51Speaker 1: just got somewhere. Yeah, no, man.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember when the coronavirus was, like, being talked
- 23:59Speaker 2: about in, like, December at one point, like, before it
- 24:03Speaker 2: popped off. And then it was, like, very faint. And
- 24:06Speaker 2: then They kept talking about it. And I just remember
- 24:08Speaker 2: just thinking beer because Corona sounds like a beer.
- 24:10Speaker 1: And I was like, oh.
- 24:11Speaker 2: And then once it shut down, though, March, what, 15th
- 24:14Speaker 2: or something like that?
- 24:15Speaker 1: 14th. Tom Hanks, like the first guy to get that shit. Yeah,
- 24:18Speaker 1: in Australia. Dude, I lost a hell of followers because
- 24:22Speaker 1: I was like, I had posted, like after you got it,
- 24:25Speaker 1: like a couple days later, I go. I was like,
- 24:28Speaker 1: RIP Tom Hanks. And then people were like, that's not
- 24:31Speaker 1: even funny. That's not funny. You're hacking this and that.
- 24:35Speaker 1: People all unfollowed me. I was like, I don't give
- 24:37Speaker 1: a fuck. Who cares, dude? It's cracking. What's going on
- 24:44Speaker 1: over there? One of the cool things about this club
- 24:49Speaker 1: that I just learned is that they do these... Mic
- 24:52Speaker 1: drop's so sick because Hillary is... She loves history, and
- 24:58Speaker 1: she loves to know about the areas. When she travels,
- 25:01Speaker 1: she's one of those people that goes up to the
- 25:03Speaker 1: monument and reads the shit. She'll go to a city,
- 25:06Speaker 1: she'll go to another country, and then do the tours.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I know she did one of the tours yesterday. It
- 25:12Speaker 1: was like hours. But she brings her kids with her,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and they get to learn all the history and all
- 25:15Speaker 1: the stuff. So it's really, really fucking cool. And then,
- 25:19Speaker 1: because she learns so much about them, she does... like
- 25:23Speaker 1: ghost tours. So they do a ghost tour in Plano, Texas. Okay.
- 25:26Speaker 1: They do a ghost tour. They do a tour here
- 25:30Speaker 1: and they're doing one of the tours right now. That's
- 25:31Speaker 1: what you can hear. Okay. Okay. And I think it
- 25:33Speaker 1: starts here in the club because there's a lot of like,
- 25:35Speaker 1: like on the, on the, on the walls, there's, there's
- 25:39Speaker 1: a lot of pictures with a little bit of information
- 25:42Speaker 1: in that, in that person right now. I think they're,
- 25:44Speaker 1: they're going around and giving you the history and telling
- 25:45Speaker 1: you about it. Okay. Okay. It's awesome, dude. It's a
- 25:48Speaker 1: really cool way. It's multicultural. Yeah. In this room. That's,
- 25:51Speaker 1: that's awesome. Yeah. Yeah, no.
- 25:53Speaker 2: I was going to say, so I wanted to get
- 25:57Speaker 2: to you on the questions and the trivia questions.
- 26:00Speaker 1: We do trivia. And let's see. Test your knowledge. Let's
- 26:05Speaker 1: do it. So you won week 13. So here we go.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Week 13's questions. Oh, did I? Wait. Oh, shit. I mean,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Wait, wait. We're doing it. We're good, dude. Actually,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I gave week 13 already to....
- 26:21Speaker 2: To to ronnie earlier today i don't even know what
- 26:23Speaker 2: any of that means okay so they're not you want
- 26:25Speaker 2: to do it anyways no but what does that mean
- 26:27Speaker 2: week 13 questions i have i have like weeks of
- 26:30Speaker 2: quite like up to week 13 in questions uh each
- 26:33Speaker 2: week has a different uh okay 10 10 set of
- 26:36Speaker 2: trivia questions okay.
- 26:37Speaker 1: So uh just give me a week that hasn't been
- 26:39Speaker 1: done yet all right let's see uh let's go with
- 26:42Speaker 1: week i don't think that i'm really a good at
- 26:43Speaker 1: trivia though i'm not going to get questions oh yeah
- 26:49Speaker 1: He said, I fold under pressure. No. So, okay, here goes.
- 26:54Speaker 1: What does the P.S. stand for on letters? Okay. Someone's like, oh, P.S. P.S. Please? Please? No, P.S.
- 27:14Speaker 1: stands for post-script. Post-script. I was trying to hint, like,
- 27:18Speaker 1: is please the first word, and then S is something else,
- 27:20Speaker 1: but no. What is it, post-script? Post-script, yeah, that's what P.S. is. Okay,
- 27:25Speaker 1: what is the capital of New Jersey? No, it's okay,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you can talk. No, you're fine. I'll edit. Oh, okay,
- 27:35Speaker 1: so New Jersey. Oh, is it Newark? It is Trenton. Trenton,
- 27:40Speaker 1: New Jersey, fuck, that's right. See, I'm not good. Did
- 27:44Speaker 1: it fall? It messed up. No, it's good, right? No,
- 27:49Speaker 1: it's good. It's good. Okay. Okay, yeah, it's Trenton. Trenton,
- 27:53Speaker 1: New Jersey. So, number three.
- 27:57Speaker 2: It's funny because you just said you were injured in Bayonne,
- 28:00Speaker 2: New Jersey.
- 28:01Speaker 1: But that was years and years ago. I was surprised
- 28:05Speaker 1: on how nice Jersey was, too, myself, actually, now thinking
- 28:07Speaker 1: about it since we're talking about Detroit. There's some really
- 28:08Speaker 1: nice parts of Jersey. really nice. Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 2: I thought it was all going to be like, you know,
- 28:12Speaker 2: like concrete and just like.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But there's some shitholes too. Like some, you know, like,
- 28:18Speaker 1: like there's parts of Jersey city that are really, you know, yeah,
- 28:21Speaker 1: that great. Um, just like every city, you know, it
- 28:24Speaker 1: was like, I went to, I went to Newark. I
- 28:28Speaker 1: went to, um, uh, Lodi. I was rolling around over
- 28:31Speaker 1: at Passaic and then went down to, um, the, the,
- 28:34Speaker 1: the shore.
- 28:35Speaker 2: And then, uh, We went to do a radio show
- 28:38Speaker 2: one time, and we had to drive all the way
- 28:40Speaker 2: into this woodsy-ass area.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It's a nice spot, but it's nice. Nice homes up there. Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 1: It was so crazy because on this drive, there was
- 28:49Speaker 1: this little bakery on the side of the road. I
- 28:52Speaker 1: was like, let's stop there. We stopped there, and I
- 28:55Speaker 1: just got one of the best. It was a bomb-ass
- 28:58Speaker 1: apple donut. And it was so good. And they had
- 29:01Speaker 1: like cannoli that they like fresh cannoli. I was like,
- 29:04Speaker 1: this is awesome. Yeah. New York, New Jersey are so
- 29:06Speaker 1: like they're baked goods and shit. Like they're ridiculous. Bakeries
- 29:09Speaker 1: are amazing. Yeah. Um, where, uh, here's a question three. Okay. Uh,
- 29:15Speaker 1: who won the last world cup in 2022? That's what
- 29:21Speaker 1: week is this? Are we doing this week? Uh, we're
- 29:24Speaker 1: doing week eight. Let's do week seven. Yeah. Broke off, dude.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I don't know. Dude, I think it's the week, though.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I hate it. Here, we'll start with, what's the first
- 29:42Speaker 1: question in week seven? Let me see if I can
- 29:43Speaker 1: get that. All right, the first question in week seven is,
- 29:48Speaker 1: how many Indiana Jones films are there? Four. No, it's five. Fuck,
- 29:53Speaker 1: but I'm getting closer. Let's stick with week seven. Let's
- 29:55Speaker 1: stick with week seven. Okay. Let's stick with week seven.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Fuck it. All right. It says, name the original colors
- 30:02Speaker 1: of all the Power Rangers. Oh. See? There we go.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I was playing the fucking Power Rangers video game on
- 30:09Speaker 1: the way, on my flight here. Okay. I got one
- 30:11Speaker 1: of those little retro arcade games, like consoles, you know, thing. So,
- 30:16Speaker 1: there's the Black Ranger, the Blue Ranger, the Red Ranger,
- 30:21Speaker 1: the White Ranger, and the Pink Ranger. Then there was
- 30:24Speaker 1: a Yellow Ranger, too, but. Yeah, no, you said red, blue, yellow, pink, black.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And there was white also. Oh, we got green. Oh,
- 30:31Speaker 1: and the Green Ranger too. Because green turned into white.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Is that what happened? Yeah. So they got rid of
- 30:38Speaker 1: the green and then there was a white? Yeah.
- 30:40Speaker 2: And they became the White Power Ranger. Oh, so the originals,
- 30:45Speaker 2: the white wasn't included in the originals. Which is, I
- 30:46Speaker 2: don't think PC nowadays, the White Power Ranger.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Well, at least they didn't get, you know. He didn't
- 30:52Speaker 1: like the Black Ranger. I think it was too controversial
- 30:55Speaker 1: at the time, maybe. They were like, we can't have
- 30:57Speaker 1: a Black Ranger and a White Ranger. Yeah. All right,
- 31:01Speaker 1: here we go. Number three. But the yellow, yeah, the
- 31:05Speaker 1: yellow ranger was played by an Asian woman. Yeah.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the black ranger was a black dude. The black
- 31:12Speaker 2: ranger was a black guy. That's funny that they made
- 31:14Speaker 2: her the yellow ranger.
- 31:16Speaker 1: She died in a car accident. That's awful. That's crazy. Yeah,
- 31:19Speaker 1: so sad. And I think the, I don't know if
- 31:22Speaker 1: the other ones died or anything like that. I was
- 31:24Speaker 1: watching an interview the other day. It was the black
- 31:28Speaker 1: Power Ranger. He's all grown up now. It was pretty recent.
- 31:31Speaker 1: It was like a year ago or so. I can't
- 31:36Speaker 1: remember if it was the Blue or the Red Ranger.
- 31:37Speaker 1: One of the guys. Probably Blue. And they were talking
- 31:42Speaker 1: in real life. And they were actually talking about how
- 31:44Speaker 1: little money they made and how taken advantage of they were.
- 31:47Speaker 1: And then the movies were coming out. It's pretty crazy.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You should definitely look into that shit. I'd check it out. Yeah, definitely.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It was interesting. But I don't know if I got
- 31:56Speaker 1: that one right or wrong. I'll just say. We'll give
- 31:58Speaker 1: it to you. You need one. You need one. So
- 32:03Speaker 1: number three, Noah Wiley is a star of what two
- 32:06Speaker 1: shows based about hospitals? Was he in ER? Yeah. And
- 32:11Speaker 1: then he's on that new one that's on the streaming service.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Let me think about that for a second. On HBO, yeah. Yeah. Dude,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I was just on a really long flight, and the
- 32:23Speaker 1: girl next to me watched the entire thing. And then
- 32:25Speaker 1: I was watching it. While I was playing my little
- 32:28Speaker 1: retro console. And then I came home and I told
- 32:30Speaker 1: my wife about it. And then she watched it. She
- 32:32Speaker 1: watched like two seasons of it. Yeah. It's really good.
- 32:36Speaker 1: You watched it? Yeah, yeah. As a matter of fact,
- 32:41Speaker 1: me and my wife watched it. And some new.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Season is not going to come out for a while.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And I was like, if you want to get your fix,
- 32:48Speaker 2: this is pretty much ER. And so we've been watching ER.
- 32:52Speaker 2: She's been loving ER.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Isn't that like one season is like one day or
- 32:54Speaker 1: something like that? Yeah, one season is a day. I
- 32:56Speaker 1: just forgot the name of it. Don't tell me. Let's
- 32:58Speaker 1: go to the next question, and when it comes to me,
- 32:59Speaker 1: I'll come back. Do you want me to give you
- 33:01Speaker 1: a hint? Is it P? Is it started with a P?
- 33:02Speaker 1: It's named after kind of a city. It's named after
- 33:06Speaker 1: kind of a city? Well, the city is in the
- 33:08Speaker 1: name of the show that they're in. Okay.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I don't know if it was supposed to work out
- 33:15Speaker 2: this way, but it did work out this way. So
- 33:17Speaker 2: the show's name, the city that it's in, the show,
- 33:23Speaker 2: you can even say it's a nickname, too.
- 33:29Speaker 1: What's the first letter? You got it right. The P.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Let's move on. I'll come back. Don't hit me. How
- 33:37Speaker 1: about the Steelers play there? What's that? The Steelers play there.
- 33:41Speaker 1: What is it? What the fuck is the name of
- 33:48Speaker 1: that show, dude? Pen. Pen? Why would it be pen?
- 34:00Speaker 1: The Steelers play. But it's not Pittsburgh. They play in Pittsburgh.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I know, but it's not. The show's called. It's not Pittsburgh.
- 34:07Speaker 1: The Pit. The fucking Pit, dude. Yeah, that's right. The Pit. Dude,
- 34:12Speaker 1: watch you try to figure that out. No, I knew that.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I know that Pittsburgh played it, but I was then
- 34:16Speaker 1: thinking about maybe just Pennsylvania, because that starts with a P2,
- 34:19Speaker 1: and Pittsburgh's in Pennsylvania. I wasn't thinking Pittsburgh. The show's
- 34:22Speaker 1: not called fucking Pittsburgh. And you're like, but oh, The Pit.
- 34:25Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense. Okay, so. Terrible. Number four. How
- 34:30Speaker 1: many tablespoons are in a stick of butter? Four. Eight.
- 34:37Speaker 1: What year did the iPhone come out? 2007. Boom. I
- 34:41Speaker 1: know that shit. I know tech shit. You know tech shit?
- 34:44Speaker 1: I know tech shit.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Oh, then I have a, okay, maybe it's on this
- 34:48Speaker 2: one and maybe not. The question, I'll ask it to
- 34:50Speaker 2: you at the end. Who is on the $ 50 bill?
- 34:55Speaker 1: Franklin? No, it's Ulysses Grant. Grant. Damn. What does DOA
- 35:00Speaker 1: stand for? Dead on Arrival. Yeah. There it is.
- 35:04Speaker 2: You got three right, right? Yeah, three so far. It says,
- 35:09Speaker 2: in Blackjack, an ace is valued at what two numbers?
- 35:13Speaker 1: A one or an 11. Boom. Nice. Four. All right.
- 35:20Speaker 1: What was Kevin Hart's first comedy special titled? It started
- 35:36Speaker 1: with a B, no? No. I can't remember. It's called
- 35:40Speaker 1: I Have a Grown Little Man. Oh, shit. And this
- 35:43Speaker 1: is the 10th question, the final question. You want to
- 35:46Speaker 1: wager all your points? Put it all online. Put it
- 35:48Speaker 1: all online. Let's let it go. It says, what failed
- 35:50Speaker 1: music streaming service was founded by rapper Jay-Z? Title. Yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Tech stuff. Yeah, yeah. So I had this one question
- 36:01Speaker 1: that I wrote down, and it's a tech question. It's
- 36:03Speaker 1: pretty hard, though. I don't know. It was, what number
- 36:08Speaker 1: iPhone did they skip? Nine. Yeah. Do you know why?
- 36:14Speaker 1: Because they went to the X and then they just continued. Yeah,
- 36:18Speaker 1: because they wanted to celebrate the 10th year of the iPhone.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Because it was, yeah, yeah. That's so funny. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 1: they skipped nine. I've always remembered that, too. And I
- 36:26Speaker 1: was like, this would be a great question. This is
- 36:28Speaker 1: going to stump somebody. You got it so fast. That's awesome. Yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 1: I remember that they skipped nine. I'm good with all
- 36:31Speaker 1: the tech shit. I know things like that. I'm not
- 36:33Speaker 1: good with like, I'm not really that good with everything else.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I'm not really good at human. What was the World
- 36:41Speaker 1: Cup winner? Where was it? Argentina. I was going to
- 36:43Speaker 1: say Argentina.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I should have just said it. I should have just
- 36:48Speaker 2: said it. Are you going to be somewhere anytime soon?
- 36:50Speaker 2: Are your socials and stuff? Yeah. You can follow me

- 37:02Speaker 1: Who said I said it? Sean Baker said it. I'm
