Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 1: Update on the Pfizer building in NYC.
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York.
- 0:03Speaker 2: He still Mark sim own show on seven tenor.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hey, we got a lot to get to today. We'll
- 0:17Speaker 1: get to the building collapse, exactly why it happened and
- 0:20Speaker 1: what's going on there. We'll get to I've had enough
- 0:22Speaker 1: of this FIFA, but we'll have to talk about it.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We'll get to President Trump, We'll get to NATO, the Ukraine,
- 0:27Speaker 1: we'll get to Erdigon, We'll get to Spain, We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 1: to Greenland, We'll get to Iran scum as the President
- 0:36Speaker 1: calls them, and what's going to happen next in Iran.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We'll get to Platner in the mid terms, and a
- 0:41Speaker 1: whole lot more coming up. So that building collapse, it's
- 0:46Speaker 1: forty second Street between Second and third, and they had
- 0:50Speaker 1: closed off like a five block area around there. They've
- 0:54Speaker 1: shrunken that frozen zone now so it's basically no traffic
- 0:58Speaker 1: forty second forty third between second and third and it's
- 1:03Speaker 1: just a block or two in either direction. But here's
- 1:07Speaker 1: what caused this building collapse. It was formerly the headquarters
- 1:11Speaker 1: of Peiser, the big drug company maker of Viagra. By
- 1:16Speaker 1: the way, there's a joke there somewhere that the maker
- 1:20Speaker 1: of Viagara is shrinking, collapsing the building. You make your
- 1:24Speaker 1: own joke there. But Peiser left and it's a big, huge,
- 1:30Speaker 1: huge skyscraper and they decided to convert it to residential.
- 1:35Speaker 1: This is not easy to do, and it's going to
- 1:38Speaker 1: happen more and more. It's happening around the city. Usually
- 1:41Speaker 1: older office buildings that nobody would want to move into,
- 1:44Speaker 1: so they convert them to residential. You know, if they're
- 1:47Speaker 1: old and works for residential, doesn't work for an office.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But this Feiser conversion to residential, it was going to
- 1:56Speaker 1: be sixteen hundred units. That's huge. That's how big a building.
- 2:02Speaker 1: It's like a fifty sixty story skyscraper. So sixteen hundred
- 2:08Speaker 1: units very unusual for an apartment building in the middle Manhattan.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Those doormen at Christmas are going to be very happy.
- 2:16Speaker 1: That's sixteen hundred tenants. That's a lot of tips. So
- 2:22Speaker 1: they're converting the building. And now picture of the building.
- 2:26Speaker 1: It's a big, fat skyscraper and it goes up and
- 2:31Speaker 1: at the twentieth floor it gets smaller, you know what
- 2:33Speaker 1: I mean, it's this wide. The building is the entire
- 2:36Speaker 1: footprint of the lot. And then at a certain floor,
- 2:40Speaker 1: it gets smaller and it's like only half the width,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and then from the twentieth floor up, it's like half
- 2:47Speaker 1: the width. So what they tried to do was make
- 2:50Speaker 1: it the full width all the way up. So at
- 2:53Speaker 1: the twentieth floor they were adding for half the building.
- 2:56Speaker 1: They were adding like twenty more stories on top, and
- 3:00Speaker 1: that's what caused those steel beams to buckle. They couldn't
- 3:04Speaker 1: hold an extra twenty stories on top, and the beams
- 3:08Speaker 1: started to buckle, and the workmen, construction workers saw it
- 3:12Speaker 1: and knew this was a serious emergency, and they called
- 3:16Speaker 1: for an evacuation. Everybody got out of the building and
- 3:19Speaker 1: it started to buckle, and it was emergency. Everything came
- 3:24Speaker 1: flying in and they realized how bad this is. The
- 3:27Speaker 1: building's unstable. They don't think it'll topple because it's a
- 3:30Speaker 1: steel building. They think it'll pancake down like the World
- 3:33Speaker 1: Trade Center did. But besides all that, they were bricks
- 3:37Speaker 1: and glass and all sorts of things flying off the building.
- 3:40Speaker 1: That's why they had to close the streets around there. Now,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't know what you do about this. They're going
- 3:44Speaker 1: to have to figure out a way to stabilize those beams.
- 3:51Speaker 1: So it can hold the new twenty stories on top
- 3:53Speaker 1: of them. But I don't think that's possible. If there
- 3:56Speaker 1: was a way to do that, they would have done
- 3:57Speaker 1: that when they were building the building. So they may
- 3:59Speaker 1: have to take it all down. So this could be
- 4:02Speaker 1: a frozen zone for a long time. Who knows. It
- 4:05Speaker 1: could be weeks, it could be a year. Who knows
- 4:08Speaker 1: to take down all of this stuff. The company building
- 4:12Speaker 1: this doesn't look like the greatest geniuses in the world
- 4:16Speaker 1: to have this happen to them. And if you check
- 4:18Speaker 1: their record, they got a lot of violations. They've been
- 4:22Speaker 1: paying a lot of fines, and they're be getting a
- 4:23Speaker 1: lot of violations over the last year. And I would
- 4:27Speaker 1: imagine whoever the architect was who decided to add twenty
- 4:32Speaker 1: floors on top of those beams, didn't do his homework
- 4:38Speaker 1: to know that the beams wouldn't be able to support it.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So it's an absolute disaster. Mom, Donnie loved it because
- 4:47Speaker 1: this is what he does now. Whenever there's an emergency
- 4:50Speaker 1: of some kind of weather or a flood, a building collapse,
- 4:53Speaker 1: he shows up there with that mayor emergency jacket on
- 4:57Speaker 1: and acts like he's in charge, pretends he knows what
- 4:59Speaker 1: he's talking about.
- 5:00Speaker 3: First responders and structural engineers are working closely with the
- 5:03Speaker 3: project engineer to develop plans to shore up the impacted floor.
- 5:08Speaker 3: If the floor is deemed to be secure, engineers will
- 5:11Speaker 3: enter and begin shoring up the building. As we await
- 5:15Speaker 3: the arrivals of materials that will stabilize the building. DOB
- 5:18Speaker 3: engineers have been investigating with FD and Y drones.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Say he sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
- 5:23Speaker 1: He doesn't. But if you talk fast and you talk
- 5:25Speaker 1: to he's went very official and talk very fast, people
- 5:27Speaker 1: think you know what you're talking about.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I'm grateful to report that there have been no injuries
- 5:31Speaker 3: at this time and that every worker has been accounted for.
- 5:35Speaker 3: The NYPD has instituted a frozen zone from fortieth to
- 5:39Speaker 3: forty fifth streets between first.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Year and I actually shrunk that down. That was yesterday.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It's shrunken down to like forty third to forty first
- 5:47Speaker 1: He used to work on that block. There's a lot
- 5:49Speaker 1: of stuff on that block. WPIX TV is on that block.
- 5:53Speaker 1: They were forced to move evacuate their building and move outside.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Broadcast from outside yesterday. News Nation is also in that
- 6:00Speaker 1: building also forced to move outside. Across the street from
- 6:04Speaker 1: this building is the Daily News building. That's where WPIX is,
- 6:09Speaker 1: legendary building two twenty East forty second Street, and also
- 6:12Speaker 1: the Weston Hotel which had to evacuate because of this
- 6:17Speaker 1: building collapse. So everybody in the hotel all kinds of
- 6:20Speaker 1: emergency alarms went off. They were the big PA system.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You have to evacuate the building immediately. So everybody had
- 6:27Speaker 1: to evacuate the hotel. They were eventually allowed back in
- 6:30Speaker 1: just to get their bags, just to get their baggage
- 6:33Speaker 1: and stuff and get out. They had like ten minutes
- 6:35Speaker 1: to go in and collect everything and leave. So the
- 6:39Speaker 1: hotel is still evacuated, so everybody in the hotel now
- 6:43Speaker 1: forced to find other accommodations. Mom Donnie on the scene
- 6:48Speaker 1: with that emergency jacket on.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Two structural columns have buckled. In addition to multiple cracks
- 6:53Speaker 3: and sagging floors. The building remains unstable. Since arriving on scene,
- 6:59Speaker 3: we have witnessed a movement in one of the compromise columns.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so again half the building on the twentieth floor
- 7:07Speaker 1: had nothing above it, so they added like twenty floors
- 7:10Speaker 1: on top of this half. And these beams can't hold it.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I don't know how you're going to fix that. And
- 7:17Speaker 1: that's the other thing. They're gonna have to bring in
- 7:19Speaker 1: all kinds of engineering geniuses to look at this, and
- 7:22Speaker 1: that's going to take weeks for them to figure out
- 7:25Speaker 1: how to fix it, whether they've got to tear the
- 7:27Speaker 1: whole thing down or figure out if there's a way
- 7:30Speaker 1: to fix those beams and give them the support they need.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I doubt it. And again, the company building this building,
- 7:37Speaker 1: they don't look like the greatest geniuses. So I don't
- 7:40Speaker 1: know who's going to arrange for all this to take
- 7:42Speaker 1: care of all of this. This is Esposito.
- 7:46Speaker 4: The box beams, the steel beams have started to bend
- 7:49Speaker 4: and deflect from the weight. We evacuated the building and
- 7:53Speaker 4: started evacuations of surrounding buildings, and the building has continued
- 7:58Speaker 4: to move since we've been on this.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Esposito police chief. I believe they all sound like
- 8:06Speaker 1: sid from Blue Bloods. That's how you know they're police.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But anyway, we'll see what happens. That's going to be
- 8:12Speaker 1: a long situation fixing that. And the problem is you
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't have a great mayor right now. You've got a
- 8:19Speaker 1: mayor who's twelve years old, never had a job before,
- 8:22Speaker 1: not a management guy. This is where you need a
- 8:25Speaker 1: Rudy Giuliani or Mike Bloomberg who would start managing this,
- 8:30Speaker 1: bringing in every expert from all over the world to
- 8:32Speaker 1: see how fast you could get this fixed. So we'll
- 8:35Speaker 1: get back to the building now. President Trump, of course,
- 8:39Speaker 1: was in Turkey two days of talks with NATO, and
- 8:44Speaker 1: he's not happy with a lot of people there. In fact,
- 8:47Speaker 1: he's talking about cutting off Spain, cutting off Spain from
- 8:50Speaker 1: all business, tourism, everything, because when we needed them the
- 8:54Speaker 1: most in this Iran war, Spain not only wouldn't help,
- 8:58Speaker 1: they refuse to let us use their airs, their air bases, anything.
- 9:01Speaker 1: They were totally totally uncooperative with us. So I can
- 9:06Speaker 1: understand him, Yeah, cut them off, cut them off. In fact,
- 9:10Speaker 1: all the NATO he kind of let them have it
- 9:12Speaker 1: because they were of no help. And you know, if
- 9:15Speaker 1: there was ever a problem with a NATO country, we're
- 9:18Speaker 1: supposed to go in and rescue them. But when we
- 9:20Speaker 1: needed a little help, we didn't need much of anything
- 9:22Speaker 1: to let us use an air baser, lend us a
- 9:25Speaker 1: ship or nothing. Nothing. So I think you're going to
- 9:29Speaker 1: see all funding cut to NATO. Let them fend for themselves,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you know, let them become Ukraine. And that's a good
- 9:36Speaker 1: example because Ukraine was totally dependent on us. We had
- 9:39Speaker 1: to give money and weapons and everything. And over the
- 9:43Speaker 1: last couple of years they built their own weapons factory,
- 9:45Speaker 1: their own drones factory. They're totally independent. Now they don't
- 9:49Speaker 1: need our money, they don't need our help. They can
- 9:50Speaker 1: build all the drones they need, and they're gonna able
- 9:53Speaker 1: to not only hold the Russians off, they may even
- 9:57Speaker 1: start to win this thing. So President Trump has been
- 10:01Speaker 1: talking to Putin more and more. Putin realizes he's not
- 10:06Speaker 1: going to win and there's possibility could actually lose this.
- 10:09Speaker 1: So he and Trump are talking. There could be a deal,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and it'll probably happen, not right away, but just before
- 10:18Speaker 1: the midterms. That couldn't just keep an eye on this.
- 10:21Speaker 1: The Ukraine War could be settled by President Trump. He
- 10:25Speaker 1: is talking to Putin.
- 10:26Speaker 5: I had a very good talk with President Putin, who,
- 10:29Speaker 5: by the way, has a lot of respect for President
- 10:33Speaker 5: a lot of respect for him. We had a long
- 10:36Speaker 5: talk yesterday less than a long time. And I also
- 10:39Speaker 5: spoke with President Jolynsky right after that.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I think they both want to make a deal. Yeah,
- 10:45Speaker 1: so expect that to happen just before the midterms. Aerdigon
- 10:49Speaker 1: is the president of Turkey. Now they're totally awful. Erdigon
- 10:52Speaker 1: is awful. We should not be giving them anything, but
- 10:55Speaker 1: we're giving them fighter planes and fighter jets. But it's
- 10:58Speaker 1: all part of a chess game that has to do
- 11:00Speaker 1: with Iran, has to do with Russia, has to do
- 11:02Speaker 1: with Ukraine. Net Nyaho not happy about this, but we will.
- 11:07Speaker 1: We're not giving them planes, we're selling them plays.
- 11:09Speaker 5: The decision we're going to make. We have a very
- 11:14Speaker 5: good relationship. I would think that many people. I can
- 11:18Speaker 5: tell you many people, including the people sitting right here.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Thinks, you know, why wouldn't we do that.
- 11:23Speaker 5: We have a better relationship with Turkey, and Turkey has
- 11:26Speaker 5: been in many ways much more loyal than other countries
- 11:29Speaker 5: that we think would be loyal.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It's a good point. Well, we needed help Iran. Turkey
- 11:34Speaker 1: helped more than these NATO countries. You wouldn't expect that,
- 11:37Speaker 1: but that's the way it worked. Net Niya, who is
- 11:42Speaker 1: speaking to Trump but through a cable TV, through social media,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and you see the decline in support for Israel.
- 11:48Speaker 6: Okay, and it's years before, several years before the guys
- 11:53Speaker 6: of war took place. Okay, And you asked why did
- 11:56Speaker 6: that happen? Well, the one correlation you see, which is
- 11:59Speaker 6: almost it's the perfect correlation, is the penetration of TikTok
- 12:04Speaker 6: and other social media in the United States. And as
- 12:07Speaker 6: the penetration increases, the support for Israel decreases. And let
- 12:11Speaker 6: me tell you something else, the support for America decreases.
- 12:16Speaker 1: That's an interesting theory. You know, why did this anti
- 12:18Speaker 1: Semitism all of a sudden the last year or two
- 12:22Speaker 1: or three whatever, go crazy and it just explode. Well
- 12:26Speaker 1: he could be right, social media, Instagram, but remember all
- 12:33Speaker 1: that stuff, all that digital stuff, it's just a magnifying glass.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Behavior never changes, never. So whatever people are doing on
- 12:42Speaker 1: TikTok innstrant, they were doing it anyway, they just weren't
- 12:44Speaker 1: doing it on such a big platform. You know, like
- 12:46Speaker 1: people putting up pictures of what they ate. Well, if
- 12:49Speaker 1: you study history in the days of the cave Man,
- 12:53Speaker 1: when they put hieroglyphics on the wall, there were actually
- 12:56Speaker 1: they found that some people put up what they had
- 12:58Speaker 1: for lunch. That kind of stuff. So human behavior doesn't change,
- 13:02Speaker 1: it just moves to a different medium. So TikTok, Instagram,
- 13:06Speaker 1: whatever they're doing on there, they were doing it anyway.
- 13:09Speaker 1: It's just now they're doing it on a much greater
- 13:11Speaker 1: scale and it's exploding much faster. So also you've got
- 13:16Speaker 1: the Democrats going crazy with anti Semitism, communism, socialism, and
- 13:23Speaker 1: they'll always remember it's the mom Donnis that are the
- 13:26Speaker 1: greedy ones. The socialists are the greedy ones. It's the
- 13:30Speaker 1: socialists that like to take Elon Musk put up a
- 13:34Speaker 1: great death thing today about somebody put up. It wasn't him,
- 13:39Speaker 1: it was It's a mom. Donnie is just a taker.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Elon Musk is a maker. He makes things. Mom Donnie
- 13:46Speaker 1: just takes things. That's the thing about Democrats and socialists, Socialists,
- 13:51Speaker 1: socialist communists the greediest people of all. They want to
- 13:53Speaker 1: take your money, they want to tax you to death.
- 13:55Speaker 1: They want to take everything. They want to seize things.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They want to seize your property, seize your business, sees everything.
- 14:01Speaker 1: They're the greedy ones. They're not about going out and
- 14:04Speaker 1: earning stuff. They're just take sees. That's the socialist so hey, uh,
- 14:11Speaker 1: stampway I just heard that on the news. Price of
- 14:13Speaker 1: Forever stamps up till of what eighty three cents? The
- 14:17Speaker 1: people still use stamps yeat. Online banking is great. You
- 14:20Speaker 1: got to be careful with it sometimes because well, because
- 14:22Speaker 1: you can do your online banking with the utilities, with
- 14:25Speaker 1: the American Express, the credit card company, but when it
- 14:28Speaker 1: comes to a lot of things, they don't have a
- 14:30Speaker 1: portal that you can use to pay on and sometimes
- 14:33Speaker 1: you gotta be careful with this. You pay the bill
- 14:35Speaker 1: online and it didn't go to exactly the right account.
- 14:38Speaker 1: That happens sometimes. Hey, by the way, you might have
- 14:42Speaker 1: gotten a letter from your bank that they're taking away
- 14:46Speaker 1: your safe deposit box. And if you didn't get a
- 14:50Speaker 1: letter like that, you're going to get it pretty soon.
- 14:53Speaker 1: And you get this letter, oh, you think you're being
- 14:55Speaker 1: debanked like Donald Trump, but says you have until September
- 14:58Speaker 1: to clean out your safe deposit box. We're no longer
- 15:01Speaker 1: going to provide it for you. And I know Chase
- 15:04Speaker 1: is doing that a lot of banks. It's just a
- 15:06Speaker 1: new thing in banking. A safe deposit boxes cost them money.
- 15:11Speaker 1: They don't make any money off it. It takes up
- 15:14Speaker 1: a lot of physical space, to have a lot of
- 15:15Speaker 1: safe deposit boxes requires a lot of real estate, so
- 15:20Speaker 1: it costs a fortune, and then they have to maintain
- 15:22Speaker 1: it and guard it and don't make any profit on it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So banks getting rid of safe deposit boxes. They've also
- 15:28Speaker 1: found that in today's world, just about everything really important
- 15:32Speaker 1: is digital. Nobody needs an actual safe deposit box. So
- 15:36Speaker 1: but when you get that letter, don't think you're being
- 15:38Speaker 1: de banked. It's just a safe deposit box. Trump got
- 15:42Speaker 1: that letter one day from Chase saying he was being debanked.
- 15:46Speaker 1: They would no longer take him as a customer. All
- 15:48Speaker 1: his accounts would be closed. And you know how the
- 15:51Speaker 1: most awful letter you can get. You know how the
- 15:53Speaker 1: letter ended. At the end, it said thank you for
- 15:57Speaker 1: your attention to this matter. That's where he got the phrase.
- 16:02Speaker 1: That's why he uses it all the time. He's a
- 16:04Speaker 1: trolling Chase by using that that line all the time. Hey,
- 16:08Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next eight hundred three to two
- 16:11Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 16:15Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten. Today's insight. Tomorrow's headline march
- 16:21Speaker 1: them up seven ten wo R. Hey, let's take some calls.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Let's go to Jay in New Jersey, Jy. How you doing, Hey, Mark?
- 16:31Speaker 7: What do you think about the fact that the Charlie
- 16:34Speaker 7: Kirks Trot murderer might not go to actual trial until
- 16:38Speaker 7: twenty twenty eight? That is not crazier.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Well, hopefully that will'll speed up. They'll get it done
- 16:46Speaker 1: sooner than that. It's just a horrible case. They do
- 16:49Speaker 1: have the death penalty in that state. That's the one
- 16:52Speaker 1: good thing. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how
- 16:54Speaker 1: you doing, Good morning, Mark. That's Mike.
- 16:59Speaker 7: So the erection of the Phizor building is on hold,
- 17:01Speaker 7: I guess for a while. Well, what I think we
- 17:04Speaker 7: can all relate to that? The erection of the fires?
- 17:07Speaker 1: I got it all right, all right, I totally make
- 17:11Speaker 1: your own show there. Pfizer makes viagra, but exactly it
- 17:17Speaker 1: doesn't want to build the building too. Oh you did?
- 17:20Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 17:20Speaker 1: I used to work across the street w p I X.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah I did too.
- 17:24Speaker 7: I worked at p I X. I was when I
- 17:26Speaker 7: was a stage manager, and it was a great neighborhood.
- 17:28Speaker 7: I would walk over to Tudor City like at dinner
- 17:31Speaker 7: time and really, you know, relax over there, and it
- 17:34Speaker 7: was a really nice neighborhood to walk around in sometimes.
- 17:37Speaker 1: But I'm trying to remember in those good old days, Uh,
- 17:40Speaker 1: when we went out, you know, at every station you
- 17:42Speaker 1: go eat around the corner, you go get food from somewhere.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Where did we go back then? I can't remember.
- 17:46Speaker 8: There wasn't There weren't a whole lot of places. There
- 17:49Speaker 8: were a couple of places on Second Avenue.
- 17:50Speaker 7: It was a Chinese record restaurant on Second Avenue that
- 17:52Speaker 7: I would go to every once in a while. And
- 17:55Speaker 7: there was a Blondie Stone or in one of those
- 17:58Speaker 7: on Third and a half you.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Oh you know what place?
- 18:00Speaker 7: Great?
- 18:00Speaker 1: All right now? I remember it was all not so
- 18:02Speaker 1: hot places. It was smilers. Remember that was like the bodega, Yes, smilers,
- 18:07Speaker 1: Blarney Stone, tads, you know it was. It wasn't great.
- 18:11Speaker 1: It was nothing great, But.
- 18:12Speaker 7: No, it wasn't great. You had to go. You had
- 18:14Speaker 7: to go downtown on Second or Third Avenue to get
- 18:17Speaker 7: to like sergeants.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's right, sergeant. That was the best. That
- 18:20Speaker 1: was the best takeout place around there. All right, my
- 18:22Speaker 1: great call, Thanks for calling. Now. A few years later
- 18:25Speaker 1: I worked at W and E W, which was around
- 18:27Speaker 1: the corner. By then, you had docs that by then
- 18:30Speaker 1: you had a lot of great restaurants opening. Let's go
- 18:32Speaker 1: to Oh it's Richie Gold, the great comedian. Richie Gold.
- 18:35Speaker 1: How you doing good? Mark? How were you good?
- 18:40Speaker 8: Great show as usual? And I want to compliment you
- 18:43Speaker 8: about a week or two of Gold you were Corey
- 18:45Speaker 8: for having and you did a great job. Right, it
- 18:47Speaker 8: was a great show.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Well, thanks a lot. Did you ever work with you?
- 18:51Speaker 1: Ever worked with Rhonda? She here?
- 18:54Speaker 8: I know Wanda as many many years ago, but I
- 18:58Speaker 8: never worked it was a good comedy, good comedian.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Oh, okay, because she's out in the hall, she's coming
- 19:02Speaker 1: on next.
- 19:03Speaker 8: So oh, very good comedian. I want to tell you
- 19:06Speaker 8: I won't stay on along. Here's where I thought. There's
- 19:09Speaker 8: a law on the books passed in nineteen fifty four
- 19:12Speaker 8: called the Communist Control Land, signed by President Eisenhower and
- 19:17Speaker 8: acted by Congress. Any member of a Communist party or
- 19:22Speaker 8: exus any of those manifestos of the Communists are not
- 19:26Speaker 8: allowed to hold power in any government office in the
- 19:29Speaker 8: United States, federal, state, or local. This is how you
- 19:32Speaker 8: stop communists in this country right now? What do you think?
- 19:35Speaker 1: I agree?
- 19:36Speaker 8: Good?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Good point, Richie Gold, Thanks thanks for calling. Yeah, Well,
- 19:40Speaker 1: they'll say they're socialists, but it's exactly the same thing.
- 19:43Speaker 1: It's your socialism comes through an election. Communism usually through
- 19:47Speaker 1: a revolution. But that's a good it's a democracy. It
- 19:52Speaker 1: should be. If you're a communist or anywhere in that direction,
- 19:57Speaker 1: you can't hold the elective office. Let's go to Bob
- 19:59Speaker 1: in Florida.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Bob, how you doing, Good morning, Mark, thanks for taking
- 20:04Speaker 2: my call. Just very quickly. What Trump was accused of
- 20:08Speaker 2: with this woman supposedly happened at Bondwood Teller and Burgdurff Goodman.
- 20:15Speaker 8: Oh it was Burgdorf.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yes, okay, that I'm one hundred percent wrong. I thought
- 20:19Speaker 2: it was.
- 20:20Speaker 8: Bond would tell her, what are you doing it?
- 20:21Speaker 1: What are you doing in Bondwood Teller. You're in there
- 20:23Speaker 1: to chase women, aren't you. Yeah, that's what you were
- 20:26Speaker 1: doing in there when I was a kid, you know.
- 20:29Speaker 2: So you know what a shame it was in there
- 20:32Speaker 2: because those women have been there for years and Trump
- 20:34Speaker 2: has never been.
- 20:35Speaker 8: In the store.
- 20:36Speaker 1: No, well we know this now because I know everybody
- 20:39Speaker 1: works in Burgdorft Goodman's women's store. Don't ask him why,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but uh, they've all been there for years. Trump has
- 20:45Speaker 1: never set foot in it. I've checked with everybody who
- 20:47Speaker 1: works there. Trump came to the men's store, which is
- 20:49Speaker 1: across the street, the Burgdorff Men's Store. He was there
- 20:52Speaker 1: twice every time. Both times he came, he came with
- 20:55Speaker 1: the two guys security guys type. And it's a standard
- 20:59Speaker 1: policy set in Bergdruff when anybody of that note comes
- 21:02Speaker 1: into the store, the salesman and a manager are to
- 21:07Speaker 1: accompany them the whole visit, the entire visit. So that
- 21:10Speaker 1: would have been the case. However, he never went to
- 21:12Speaker 1: the women's store. Her story is absolutely crazy. Hey, actually
- 21:18Speaker 1: Rondaser is here in person. We don't usually have guests
- 21:20Speaker 1: in the studio. We hate when they're in the studio,
- 21:23Speaker 1: but we'll make an exception for her, Steve Sharippa. We
- 21:26Speaker 1: make an exception for certain people are okay to have
- 21:29Speaker 1: in this sty But we'll talk to her next least.
- 21:31Speaker 1: She's gonna be on the view today. Why how well,
- 21:35Speaker 1: we'll find out in a moment on seven to ten w.
- 21:38Speaker 2: O r L the Mark Simone Show Live from the
- 21:41Speaker 2: wor Lifeback studios.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Well, guess who's here now. We never allow guests in
- 21:48Speaker 1: the studio because it's horrible. They come in with twenty
- 21:51Speaker 1: five people. Six of them want to use the bathroom,
- 21:54Speaker 1: eight of them need to know the Wi Fi passed,
- 21:56Speaker 1: where ten of them want coffee. It ties up everybody.
- 22:00Speaker 1: We make a very rare exception. Steve Sharripa is one
- 22:04Speaker 1: and we always make one for and well she doesn't
- 22:07Speaker 1: come that off an culter, but roder shehear is here
- 22:11Speaker 1: in the studio.
- 22:12Speaker 9: Hi, I'm so excited to see He's so adorable in person.
- 22:16Speaker 9: You should see him everybody.
- 22:17Speaker 1: And you look so beautiful in I know, but I don't.
- 22:19Speaker 9: Have anything low cut on for you.
- 22:21Speaker 1: You don't need it, just from the neck up badly.
- 22:25Speaker 1: And her husband, Van is here to Supervise's amazing.
- 22:28Speaker 9: Don't worry everybody. I'm flirting with Mark in front of
- 22:30Speaker 9: Van because Van doesn't care. I've known Van since I'm
- 22:32Speaker 9: twelve and the reason why we broke up at sixteen
- 22:35Speaker 9: is because I flirted. So I'm here to flirt with Mark.
- 22:36Speaker 9: I already hugged him and I got to make up
- 22:38Speaker 9: all of his suit. And he does actually dress up
- 22:41Speaker 9: every day for work like you're dressed to kill.
- 22:44Speaker 1: This isn't dressed up.
- 22:45Speaker 9: You have a jacket on. Who wears a jacket, is
- 22:47Speaker 9: Van's on? I would he would have so much more
- 22:50Speaker 9: sex if he wore a jacket. Met women love.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I have a feeling when you're not around. Van knows
- 22:56Speaker 1: what he's doing. Don't worry.
- 22:58Speaker 9: He's a good businessman. That's it. Who knew little Van
- 23:01Speaker 9: Fagan from New Orleans?
- 23:03Speaker 1: Wow? So now you're here in New York and what
- 23:07Speaker 1: you did the view?
- 23:08Speaker 2: Right?
- 23:08Speaker 9: I did the view? Wait, you'll love this. So I
- 23:10Speaker 9: put it on my social media.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But it's going to be on today.
- 23:13Speaker 9: It's on today.
- 23:13Speaker 1: People can watch it today.
- 23:14Speaker 9: Yes, I did the view, but I didn't do the
- 23:17Speaker 9: view like on the panel. But all my fans, fans
- 23:19Speaker 9: social media people all but oh wow, give them hell,
- 23:23Speaker 9: oh wow, you're on there. One guy defriended me because
- 23:25Speaker 9: I was on there, so you know it's either I
- 23:29Speaker 9: had both sides going yay and so anyway, I did
- 23:32Speaker 9: the view, but it was for the ah Bra. I
- 23:34Speaker 9: was on for my intimate apparel brand because they have
- 23:36Speaker 9: these founder of days where they have these entrepreneurial people
- 23:40Speaker 9: on that sell their stuff at like half price.
- 23:43Speaker 8: It was.
- 23:43Speaker 9: It was really good though, Well it's on today.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Dare you go to Rondasheer dot com. She has an
- 23:48Speaker 1: incredible fashion line and she's the queen of home shopping
- 23:52Speaker 1: and when it comes to lingerie, when it comes to
- 23:56Speaker 1: she's the But normally you think, oh, very sexy ro
- 23:59Speaker 1: man when you think every day star, except when you
- 24:01Speaker 1: think the view, ooh, that kills the.
- 24:03Speaker 9: Whole Wait, can I say something? This is very funny.
- 24:08Speaker 9: So one of the girls that was you know they
- 24:11Speaker 9: do the show Sonny Houston does it and I'm bad
- 24:13Speaker 9: with the other names, but she was. They do the
- 24:16Speaker 9: sales pitch right, and so afterwards she goes, Joy really
- 24:19Speaker 9: needs a comfortable bra. She sits here the whole show
- 24:22Speaker 9: going this is hers is digging into me. I can't
- 24:25Speaker 9: want to take it off.
- 24:26Speaker 1: She's an unusual bra. It's a forty two long.
- 24:29Speaker 9: So we have recovered my my line. Rundshoo dot com
- 24:34Speaker 9: has it covered. But anyway, so I'm hoping to send
- 24:37Speaker 9: Joy a large package. That didn't sound right, a package
- 24:40Speaker 9: of panties and bras. It should be comfortable.
- 24:43Speaker 1: But normally you come on TV show this said, ooh,
- 24:44Speaker 1: it's so sexy. Then when you cut to Joy behar
- 24:46Speaker 1: whoop you golver kills the whole mood. It's so were
- 24:49Speaker 1: they nice to you? They were nice.
- 24:51Speaker 9: They were very nice. And Sonny's very very pretty in
- 24:53Speaker 9: person and a little ted weedy thing. But I felt
- 24:56Speaker 9: like there, I felt normal because they walked out on
- 24:58Speaker 9: the set in their tennis shoes and they immediate changed
- 25:00Speaker 9: to those high heels and they where no one's wearing
- 25:03Speaker 9: them and what they're walking from the makeup room to
- 25:06Speaker 9: the set, and so I felt better about that. Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 9: so it'll be on an eleven thirty to eleven forty
- 25:12Speaker 9: five today. You get half price on the opera on
- 25:14Speaker 9: the view.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Oh okay, but people can just go to rundoshare dot com.
- 25:17Speaker 9: Get half price on them.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Bye. Everything you know, you don't have to sit through
- 25:20Speaker 1: the view to get everything.
- 25:22Speaker 9: You heard me on Marx Simone talking bras. So everybody
- 25:25Speaker 9: comes on and talks politics. I come on here and
- 25:27Speaker 9: talk about sex and bras with you, and I love
- 25:29Speaker 9: it so many people now for the years you haven't
- 25:32Speaker 9: You've had me on since twenty seventeen, and I thank
- 25:34Speaker 9: you so much. Since my book came out, and I
- 25:37Speaker 9: have this whole group of fans that I love you
- 25:39Speaker 9: on Marximon, I love you when you're with them, it's
- 25:41Speaker 9: so so cool.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how you got on the first time. It
- 25:44Speaker 1: was that you were on my book tour.
- 25:45Speaker 9: I was on my book tour.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And they book. Yeah, they published, and so we send
- 25:49Speaker 1: your names. When we saw your name, yeah, definitely, and
- 25:51Speaker 1: you were so good.
- 25:52Speaker 9: We have to make it so crazy. So here's the thing.
- 25:54Speaker 9: I wanted to do a podcast with you, really sexy,
- 25:57Speaker 9: different than what you do here, where you know, you're
- 25:59Speaker 9: talking to all people on both sides, where we talk
- 26:02Speaker 9: about celebrities and their sex life and really what's going on.
- 26:06Speaker 9: Like I could just do hours on Taylor Swift's wedding
- 26:09Speaker 9: and what did you think about? Why would they both
- 26:12Speaker 9: have it at a stadium when they both perform in stadiums.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Well, we seem to have gotten the real story from
- 26:17Speaker 1: people that were there. Apparently there was a serious camera crew,
- 26:20Speaker 1: like a real oh, behind the scenes network quality. The
- 26:25Speaker 1: whole thing, the way it was, the sets were built,
- 26:27Speaker 1: the way it was laid out. They could see this
- 26:29Speaker 1: was a TV show, documentary, no Netflix special, the whole thing.
- 26:33Speaker 9: Well, where's the love in that?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Very very very expensively videotaped?
- 26:38Speaker 9: Okay, but seriously, where's the love in that? Why didn't
- 26:41Speaker 9: you go run a castle, just run away like Van
- 26:43Speaker 9: and I did.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Because that's for a real wedding. This is they were
- 26:46Speaker 1: doing a TV show and that's why Adam Sandler officiated.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Half these celebrities you read about. She doesn't even know them.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Oh really, she didn't know any of these people. So
- 26:55Speaker 1: they were there to sprinkle through the TV show.
- 26:57Speaker 9: So they knew they were going to be on TV.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, somebody paid for this very experience.
- 27:01Speaker 9: But she is brilliant when it comes to that kind
- 27:02Speaker 9: of marketing.
- 27:03Speaker 1: She is.
- 27:04Speaker 9: They both are. But hopefully they got had a private
- 27:07Speaker 9: ceremony somewhere.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, they actually got married before they came to mess.
- 27:11Speaker 9: Okay, I feel better about that.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Now you're a you're a woman.
- 27:14Speaker 9: I am a woman.
- 27:15Speaker 1: This Travis Kelsey is that No.
- 27:17Speaker 9: Does nothing for me. But of course I'm not Taylors. No,
- 27:21Speaker 9: he really doesn't know.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean as far as sex appeal, good looking
- 27:25Speaker 1: kind of uh, I.
- 27:26Speaker 9: Mean, I don't I know people, he's a football I
- 27:28Speaker 9: don't know. He doesn't do anything for me. I like
- 27:30Speaker 9: the I like the funny, nerdy type.
- 27:35Speaker 1: No, but he looks like like a bouncer or something.
- 27:37Speaker 9: It look like a bouncer. You know you talk about
- 27:40Speaker 9: Steve Shirippa. Can I tell you a story about Steve Shirippa.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we love Steve.
- 27:43Speaker 9: I love Steve Shirippa. Do you know his first television
- 27:45Speaker 9: appearance was on All Night in the release and he
- 27:48Speaker 9: came back. You know, back in the day he worked
- 27:51Speaker 9: at the.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Riviera and he was the talent coordinator.
- 27:54Speaker 9: He was a talent coordinator and he was the doorman.
- 27:57Speaker 9: He was everything, but he was a bouncer, the bouncer.
- 28:00Speaker 9: So he came on up all night as the bouncer
- 28:03Speaker 9: and he would do I mean as bits. We had them,
- 28:06Speaker 9: just crazy things like wash a wig, how to get
- 28:08Speaker 9: a tip. I mean some of the Steves Ripper bits
- 28:10Speaker 9: are some of the funniest bits from back in the day.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Wow.
- 28:14Speaker 9: And I I haven't chatted with him in years, but
- 28:16Speaker 9: great guy. And he used to book me on when
- 28:19Speaker 9: on you know, because I did stand up for years.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Now I'm trying to remember it. We were trying to
- 28:24Speaker 1: figure ou if we ever met each other before.
- 28:25Speaker 9: I think we we we were lovers a long time ago.
- 28:29Speaker 9: We just don't remember that part.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Back in the was it the late eighties, early nineties,
- 28:33Speaker 1: were nineties nineties?
- 28:34Speaker 9: Back were coming here to ninety one to ninety eight.
- 28:37Speaker 1: So I remember, I think I met you a few times.
- 28:39Speaker 9: But did you know Marvin Hamilfarb.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It sounds like a disease. What is that?
- 28:44Speaker 9: No, just because he was at Fox News in the
- 28:46Speaker 9: early days, I could see the doctor. We would have
- 28:51Speaker 9: loved him because he was just very funny and sarcastic. No,
- 28:53Speaker 9: but I thought you would have known him just because
- 28:55Speaker 9: he was Fox early and he used to put me
- 28:56Speaker 9: on all the time with all these little interstitial bits.
- 28:59Speaker 9: It was great back in the day. But no, I
- 29:01Speaker 9: think it had to be the nineties because I stayed
- 29:03Speaker 9: around the corner. Well, you were in a different place,
- 29:05Speaker 9: but I was always around the corner with the what
- 29:08Speaker 9: was called the Riga Royal back then. Oh yeah, and
- 29:10Speaker 9: all the celebrities. The paparazzi would hang out in front.
- 29:13Speaker 9: Now where the gone. Where are the paparazzi hanging now?
- 29:15Speaker 9: For celebris?
- 29:17Speaker 1: No, they hang around and when you see that, paparazzi
- 29:19Speaker 1: can't wait to see who's coming out. Oh my god,
- 29:22Speaker 1: it's so that's just song. Oh my god, it's Elton John.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Nowadays the star comes out and you know who the
- 29:26Speaker 1: hell they.
- 29:27Speaker 9: Are it's an influencer, or it's a only fans person, or.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It's the number one singer in the country.
- 29:31Speaker 9: But you don't know them.
- 29:33Speaker 1: You don't know. I mean, you heard the name, but
- 29:35Speaker 1: you don't know what they do.
- 29:35Speaker 9: You know, rich, these only fans people are.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Now only fans. Is you do your own porn? Yeah,
- 29:40Speaker 1: we have subscribers.
- 29:41Speaker 9: Apparently anything you want to see, you know they have.
- 29:45Speaker 9: So I was telling the scale. Yes, So I'm like,
- 29:47Speaker 9: why don't you start a shoulder fetish where you just
- 29:49Speaker 9: like people stuck your shoulder. They pay you a lot
- 29:53Speaker 9: of money for that.
- 29:53Speaker 1: That sounds like a lot of fun.
- 29:55Speaker 9: No, but you know, apparently people are into really weird.
- 29:58Speaker 9: It isn't just feet.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Feet are big foot fetish's got to be. I had
- 30:03Speaker 1: single dumbest fetish.
- 30:04Speaker 9: I had so many foot people. They set me shoes,
- 30:07Speaker 9: they love my feet. I'm in our Wiki feet. Have
- 30:10Speaker 9: you ever heard of Wiki feet? You are you need
- 30:13Speaker 9: me here or for your celebrity days. Wikifeet has all
- 30:18Speaker 9: the famous feet that are love through through the years
- 30:22Speaker 9: of celebrity women.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Again, the sickest thing dot com.
- 30:26Speaker 9: I'm not kidding you. Everybody run there.
- 30:28Speaker 1: If you're not Atrist.
- 30:31Speaker 9: Those guys are weird. They are They're so strange. Don't
- 30:34Speaker 9: ever go to a p dietist, go to a nail
- 30:36Speaker 9: place if you have an ingra Antonio.
- 30:38Speaker 1: So uh, now tell that the podcast where we can
- 30:41Speaker 1: see that.
- 30:42Speaker 9: Well, the podcast is on blood uh bloodstream dot com.
- 30:46Speaker 9: I've got two. I've got bloodstream dot com that's all
- 30:50Speaker 9: about horror. I can't say that word. I say it
- 30:54Speaker 9: like a palm beach lady. Horror. I've got horror horror.
- 30:58Speaker 9: And then I have my own ron Shared, which is
