- 0:00SPEAKER_00: This ties into a text that came in.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: I think they were confused that Allie was uh already on vacation.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: No, you were running a little late this morning because you were uh well, let's just say puking your guts out last night, which we think we've deduced down now, at least I have.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I think you had a bad shrimp.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: I yeah, that's the only thing I can think it would be.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Zach did not throw up at all.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: He's totally fine.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I think you got the one bad one there.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: And you know, shrimp is one of those things because you said you were cooking frozen shrimp.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I wasn't.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: So it wasn't pre-cooked shrimp, it was raw frozen, right?
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: And then I skilleted it.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Fro frozen frozen or raw.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: That wasn't what I was gonna say.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Shrimp is one of those foods that you you may not even realize that there was either a little something with that one shrimp or it might have been a touch undercooked, and that's what sets your system aloose.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: Is that the black line that's in there?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: No, you gotta take that out.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Well, 8608 says Ally is gone, but it's my birthday.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Can I get a birthday song?
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm not gone.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Well, she's here, so she'll start it.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: We'll all do it together.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: A one, a two, a one, two, three.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: It's a birthday song.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: It is a merry long.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Hey, Mary Kay.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: You know what we did not do Saturday at the listener appreciation party?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Birthday song?
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Nobody nobody shouted out that it was their birthday.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Well, maybe it wasn't somebody's birthday, but I mean, look how hard it is to get a damn winner with the birthday wheel every Friday.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but I mean, you are gonna do the birthday wheel, even though I won't be here on Friday.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Um, Chelsea, who was at the listener appreciation party, said Saturday was so much fun, had a blast.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Thank you for inviting.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: I you well, everyone was invited.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: Oh, sure.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: Uh I used the bag.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: And next year, I hope everyone else will come.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: I th I hope so too.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: I use the bag as a daily purse now and love it.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: We gave away a bunch of prizes, and one of them was a purse, kind of an homage to the purse party.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: So, and there was candles in there, there was you know, those little coffee syrups.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: So, Chelsea, awesome.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Enjoy that.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: All right, finishing off, I realize we don't live in an area that has a lot of HOA presents.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I understand that.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: However, you can apply it really beyond just an HOA.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: This HOA to your neighborhood.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this HOA was very bent out of shape.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: They asked their residents, please don't give out full-size candy bars for Halloween because for those that can't, uh, you know, we don't want them to feel a certain way.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: Or those that just don't want to do it.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: First of all, for the HOA, we don't want someone to feel a certain way is ridiculous because you want everyone to feel the exact same way you do until the wind blows the other direction and you decide differently.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: So that's stupid.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: But I have, I don't care if it's an HOA or not.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: I could care less if my neighbor across the street was giving away full-size candy bars and I'm giving away fun-size candy bars.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Because guess what?
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: The kids still, even if they come down, and you know there's some snot nose that's gonna be like, Hey Timmy, did you see that house is giving away full-size candy bars?
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Oh, we we did it.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: Who cares?
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: It was the fastest game of telephone ever on Halloween night if you had the full-size house.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: But what I'm getting at is is who are getting at?
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: They're they're they're gonna be happy that they're getting the candy.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: But but you're right, HOAs want to do everything the same.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: And Carol, who's the president right now, apparently only wants to give out fun size.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Damn, Carol.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, it's Natalie.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: So my brother and sister-in-law are in an HOA in Indiana.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: And my sister-in-law is the president, and she's kind of like Lucy Goosey, so she makes funny rules.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: But for Halloween, she does like what Scott said, she has everybody's gotta participate in trick-or-treating.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: And if you want to stop after the first hour, you're done.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Turn off your light.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: They make sure that there's like a flag out, like, hey, you know, more trick-or-treating or whatever.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Because like lots of people have lots of littles, so they want to get around the neighborhood, so you know, they're not always able to trick-or-treat with their kids from like five to seven or something like that.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And this is something that they inside the house.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: This solves two problems.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: One is I don't care if you're giving out full-size candy bars.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: If you're well-to-do enough to do that, go for it.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: The kids don't care.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: They're still gonna come for the full-size three Musketeers or the fun size three musketeers.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: They don't care.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: The comparison game is between adults.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: And that's the stupid part.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, for sure.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: And yeah, we don't need that.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: Okay, let me give out the full size and you give out the fun size.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And I and by the way, the the thing, now this would only apply in an HOA.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I can't force all of West Elmira to make sure their lights on are on for the first hour.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I will tell you, last year you saw way more lights out than you saw on over the past few years.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Well, I you and I have talked about that.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: I think that's the amount of trunk or treats that we do.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Like we have in corning a lot.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: I think it's a mix of that.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: On my streets, there's no lights on, but Hot-in-Plot is always a place where kids go.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So there's I think there's there's a number of factors that are happening.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: I think, yes, you're right.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Now we have gone to this trunk or and and by the way, P.S.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: I am not a fan of trunk or treats.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I don't, I like the traditional walking the neighborhood.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: I am just we're old school.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: If if you if you're the church of God and Mary and Christ and you want to do a six-hour trunk or treat, all the power to you.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: If I never had to participate in one again, I would not lose any sleep.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's nice the schools do it.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: That kind of makes sense to me.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: You know, schools and churches, that's fine.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Other than that, I could give two craps.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: I want to walk a neighborhood.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: There's the other factor is I think there is some population that they age out of being, you know, they you trick or treats are for little little kids.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Well, the the adults that own those homes just can't do it.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Financially, I think that's a factor too, because it is not cheap.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And also, can I say that I like the trick-or-treating element because I like getting together with my neighbor and having a Halloween beer and a Halloween hot dog.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: So as an adult, I also enjoy it because I'm like, come here, Frank, let's have a PBR and walk with our kids.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And it really does come down to one thing.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: It comes down to one other thing, too.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: You know, we keep making everything so easy for kids.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Oh, we'll do everything for you.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: I want them to earn this candy.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I want them to walk in the snow, tromp through the leaves, get wet, be cold, be pissed, and come home and be like, I'm so glad I got candy.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: And and because Scott and I both live on a hill, and actually 1132 does as well, that I want you to walk up that hill both ways.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: Both ways.
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
