- 0:01Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Well, hi-dee-ho, 305.
- 0:08Speaker 1: It's another overcast and wet day in my neck of
- 0:12Speaker 1: the woods. I feel like I'm living in London. It's
- 0:15Speaker 1: 60 degrees.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Welcome, NewsRadio 570 WKBN and Ron Verb. We're underway here
- 0:19Speaker 2: until 6 o'clock tonight, as always.
- 0:21Speaker 3: 330-729-9977.
- 0:21Speaker 2: 330-729-9977 is my top secret number, as always. 330-729-9977. We'll
- 0:32Speaker 2: get you through to us on NewsRadio 570. An exciting
- 0:36Speaker 2: broadcast yesterday. We talked about a number of things yesterday.
- 0:41Speaker 2: The excitement yesterday was our discussion with G2 about flock cameras.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It was explosive, folks. It was explosive. that we talked
- 0:53Speaker 2: with G2 yesterday. And boy, boy, if you missed it,
- 0:57Speaker 2: see if you can find it on a podcast on Facebook.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And hopefully you can listen to it there. I am
- 1:03Speaker 2: one of those guys. I hear some of these people
- 1:05Speaker 2: that they talk about flock cameras. All right. And I
- 1:09Speaker 2: sit back and I'm thinking, you know, we are becoming
- 1:12Speaker 2: too many people in this society are becoming just kind
- 1:15Speaker 2: of paranoid and just ridiculously paranoid on it. We've had
- 1:20Speaker 2: flock cameras in this community for quite some time. They've
- 1:23Speaker 2: got some attention because we're adding them in Austintown Township.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Six of them we're adding in Austintown Township. That's it.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And so then there's a big conversation about flock cameras
- 1:35Speaker 2: across the country with people. And what it is, is
- 1:39Speaker 2: I'm surprised. I don't... You know, if I'm going to
- 1:42Speaker 2: disappoint people to say, you're not that interesting and the
- 1:45Speaker 2: government isn't interesting in each and every one of you
- 1:48Speaker 2: and tracking you and following you and finding out when
- 1:50Speaker 2: you went to the grocery store and all of this
- 1:53Speaker 2: kind of nonsense. I mean, we can always speculate and
- 1:56Speaker 2: it happens a lot on flock cameras. Well, it could
- 1:59Speaker 2: do this. It could do that. It could do this.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It could do that. I mean, the hypotheticals that we
- 2:05Speaker 2: hear so often that take place on the flock camera debates,
- 2:10Speaker 2: it's all hypotheticals. And or, well, they were abused in
- 2:14Speaker 2: this particular case. And so I was saying yesterday, as
- 2:17Speaker 2: I would say now, you know, flat cameras are a
- 2:19Speaker 2: modern tool that police departments can use to make your
- 2:22Speaker 2: community safer and apprehend criminals. I mean, that's really what
- 2:27Speaker 2: they're there for. That's what they're used for. They could
- 2:30Speaker 2: care less about you driving, passing a flat camera and
- 2:36Speaker 2: that you're going to get groceries or something along those lines.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Flat cameras in your community are there to take the
- 2:43Speaker 2: license plates of the car just so they know if
- 2:48Speaker 2: they're looking for a particular car. Somebody robbed a bank.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Somebody apprehended a child. Somebody murdered somebody and is fleeing
- 2:57Speaker 2: or somebody murdered somebody in another state or another county.
- 3:01Speaker 2: And they're coming into your county. I mean, that's basically
- 3:04Speaker 2: what these cameras are there and all about. They're a tool.
- 3:07Speaker 2: They're technology that help the police department become more efficient
- 3:11Speaker 2: because we're trying to operate with as efficient as possible. Obviously,
- 3:16Speaker 2: you can only afford so many cops. And so this
- 3:20Speaker 2: makes a patrolman much more efficient by having these flock
- 3:24Speaker 2: cameras to be able to catch criminals. That's what they're
- 3:28Speaker 2: used for. That's why they're there, to catch criminals. And
- 3:35Speaker 2: it's a modern-day tool that the police department can use.
- 3:39Speaker 2: The hypotheticals that people use or the abuses, just like
- 3:43Speaker 2: if in a police car there's a Leeds computer in
- 3:47Speaker 2: that car. If they pull up behind you at a light,
- 3:50Speaker 2: they can run your license plate just sitting behind you.
- 3:53Speaker 2: That is not against the law. That is perfectly legal.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You're on a public highway. Your license plate's on the
- 4:00Speaker 2: outside of your car. It's issued to you by the state.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And they can see if you're driving, what the plate
- 4:07Speaker 2: comes back to, if the plate comes back to that car.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Any number of things. There are no laws against this,
- 4:14Speaker 2: nor should there be against it. I mean, these are
- 4:17Speaker 2: public highways. License plates are issued by the state, property
- 4:21Speaker 2: of the state. And so we have laws. And so
- 4:24Speaker 2: you have Leeds computer in a car. So that cop
- 4:27Speaker 2: will run that license plate if he pulls you over.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So he knows if there are any warrants on you
- 4:31Speaker 2: or anything that needs to be of immediate concern when
- 4:35Speaker 2: he pulls your car over for speeding. Or if he
- 4:39Speaker 2: pulls your car over because they suspect you might be
- 4:41Speaker 2: a drunk driver weaving. So they can type that plate
- 4:44Speaker 2: into the Leeds computer and they can take a look
- 4:47Speaker 2: and see who the registered owner is of that car
- 4:50Speaker 2: and see if there are any warrants. And go from there.
- 4:54Speaker 2: So it's a tool for police officers for that computer
- 4:58Speaker 2: in their car to be safer on making these stops.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It's technology. You know, there's a lot of stuff that
- 5:07Speaker 2: cops have that is modern technology. Now, what do you say? Well,
- 5:11Speaker 2: what if it's abused? Well, if it's abused, there has
- 5:14Speaker 2: to be ramifications, as there are for the lead's computer.
- 5:18Speaker 2: That if it's being abused, used for personal purposes, not
- 5:22Speaker 2: used for anything but what it's intended to be used for,
- 5:26Speaker 2: I think that's a felony, if I'm not mistaken. But obviously,
- 5:29Speaker 2: there are rules to deal with that as far as
- 5:31Speaker 2: you losing your job, as far as criminal penalties that
- 5:34Speaker 2: come as a result of it. which likewise there should
- 5:37Speaker 2: be for flock cameras. Here's the guardrails on a flock camera.
- 5:44Speaker 2: And if you abuse it, because we have people saying, well,
- 5:47Speaker 2: what about this? What about that? What about this bad
- 5:50Speaker 2: cop here that abused stuff? As I say, there's bad
- 5:55Speaker 2: people in all professions, unfortunately. But they're the minority, not
- 5:59Speaker 2: the majority. And that's what you have to remember, right?
- 6:04Speaker 2: is that they are not the majority of people. So
- 6:07Speaker 2: the majority of people operating, whether it's a Leeds computer
- 6:10Speaker 2: or flat cameras, are law enforcement trying to do their job,
- 6:15Speaker 2: be safe themselves, come home alive, and make your community
- 6:18Speaker 2: a safe place. It's technology that they're using for that,
- 6:21Speaker 2: just like a stun gun is. Now, do we have
- 6:25Speaker 2: cops that abuse leads?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:28Speaker 2: And are they held accountable?
- 6:29Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Should there be guardrails on flock cameras? Absolutely. And we've
- 6:35Speaker 2: had examples where people say, well, this person was using
- 6:38Speaker 2: it for personal reasons in some state somewhere. They were
- 6:43Speaker 2: concerned about their safety. ex-wife or their girlfriend or whatever
- 6:48Speaker 2: was going on, some personal issue. And so they're caught
- 6:51Speaker 2: abusing it and their consequences as a result of that,
- 6:54Speaker 2: which there should be. It is not there for that.
- 6:57Speaker 2: You know, just as, for example, in the IRS, if
- 6:59Speaker 2: you remember that, if you go to the IRS, remember
- 7:02Speaker 2: when they released Trump's tax return, Trump's tax return, Sean Hannity,
- 7:06Speaker 2: you had a guy working at the IRS that's, uh,
- 7:10Speaker 2: for some reason had a bug up his behind for
- 7:13Speaker 2: Trump and conservatives and Sean Hannity. So what he did
- 7:16Speaker 2: was release their tax records. That's illegal. I mean, that
- 7:21Speaker 2: information is, I mean, what he did was a crime,
- 7:24Speaker 2: and he was prosecuted for that crime. The sad part
- 7:27Speaker 2: was that you had newspapers that published that information, and
- 7:31Speaker 2: they too should have been sued. And I don't know
- 7:34Speaker 2: if they were by the parties involved, but they too
- 7:37Speaker 2: should have been sued because they were publishing stolen information,
- 7:41Speaker 2: if you will, that shouldn't have been published. But that
- 7:45Speaker 2: doesn't make all IRS agents bad or evil. It makes
- 7:48Speaker 2: that one. that is in that position, bad or evil.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And it makes, you know, if you get a cop,
- 7:54Speaker 2: you know, we have had situations where potentially people question
- 7:58Speaker 2: shootings that take place that some say were not justified
- 8:04Speaker 2: and perhaps even are later ruled that they weren't justified. Well,
- 8:07Speaker 2: that doesn't mean we take the guns away from all
- 8:09Speaker 2: the cops. So we take a look at these individual
- 8:13Speaker 2: situations and got to say, okay, the majority of people
- 8:17Speaker 2: that are doing this stuff are doing it well. And
- 8:22Speaker 2: it makes you safer, just like when you get on
- 8:24Speaker 2: an airplane. You go to the airport, you have to
- 8:28Speaker 2: show them your ID. You stand in line, you show
- 8:31Speaker 2: them your driver's license. They have to look in the camera,
- 8:34Speaker 2: make sure you are who you say you are. Sometimes
- 8:37Speaker 2: you have to take off your shoes. They put your
- 8:39Speaker 2: bag through an x-ray machine and all of this kind
- 8:42Speaker 2: of stuff before you can get on the airplane. Didn't
- 8:44Speaker 2: used to be that way, but it's that way now
- 8:48Speaker 2: because society has changed. And unfortunately, in many cases, not
- 8:53Speaker 2: for the best. But now you feel much safer when
- 8:56Speaker 2: you get on an airplane. And you can also look
- 9:00Speaker 2: at this is what a officer on the road is
- 9:04Speaker 2: up against each and every day when they pull a
- 9:06Speaker 2: car over for speeding. It's a dangerous job. You don't
- 9:10Speaker 2: know if that state patrolman's out there on the highway
- 9:12Speaker 2: and pulls you over. He doesn't know if you're a
- 9:14Speaker 2: law abiding citizen. He doesn't know if you have a
- 9:17Speaker 2: body in the trunk. He doesn't know if you just
- 9:20Speaker 2: robbed a bank. So in most cases, that patrolman's out
- 9:26Speaker 2: there by himself on the freeway. Next officer, whether that's
- 9:31Speaker 2: a local cop or a state highway patrolman's a little
- 9:34Speaker 2: bit away, take time to get there. Well, he's got
- 9:37Speaker 2: to be able to run your license plates, see who
- 9:39Speaker 2: the car's registered to, see if there are any warrants,
- 9:42Speaker 2: see if there's any danger before he approaches that car.
- 9:45Speaker 2: That's what the Leeds computer is all about. And flock cameras,
- 9:50Speaker 2: they've been around. They're in Boardman. I come to Boardman
- 9:53Speaker 2: every day. They're in Canfield. I go through Canfield. I'm
- 9:55Speaker 2: in Boardman. I'm in Youngstown. I don't feel violated in
- 9:59Speaker 2: any fashion. As they continue to use them for what
- 10:04Speaker 2: they're intended to be used for. For people that are
- 10:10Speaker 2: breaking the law and making a community safer. So I'm
- 10:14Speaker 2: not opposed to them. I am not opposed to them.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And I think you can get into the world of hypotheticals.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And I think people have every right to question the
- 10:29Speaker 2: government because you've been lied to so much by the government.
- 10:32Speaker 2: As I say, you've been lied to, if you remember
- 10:34Speaker 2: Vietnam during Agent Orange and the cover-up of Agent Orange,
- 10:38Speaker 2: been lied to about COVID. It's been a lot of
- 10:40Speaker 2: stuff that the government has lied to you about. In
- 10:44Speaker 2: many cases, federal governments has deceived or lied to you.
- 10:49Speaker 2: And we should be holding those politicians accountable. I mean,
- 10:53Speaker 2: we've seen locally here, on a local level, when we
- 10:56Speaker 2: had a lot of corruption locally, that those politicians, not
- 11:01Speaker 2: all of them, some of them got away with it, obviously,
- 11:02Speaker 2: but some of them were apprehended and went to jail
- 11:05Speaker 2: with the mayor in Niles a while ago. So that's...
- 11:14Speaker 2: how the system operates. So you, so I don't say
- 11:20Speaker 2: the controversy over flat cameras. I think it's just, I
- 11:23Speaker 2: think it's ridiculous. I think it's absolutely ridiculous. And so
- 11:29Speaker 2: where your police department says, this is what we use
- 11:31Speaker 2: them for. This is all the, the Austintown police department
- 11:35Speaker 2: could care less about my day-to-day travels and activity. The
- 11:38Speaker 2: only time they're going to care about me on a
- 11:40Speaker 2: flat camera is if I hold up a bank and
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'm fleeing. They don't care if I'm going to Walmart
- 11:49Speaker 2: or going down to the grocery store or I'm going
- 11:52Speaker 2: to Home Depot. I mean, and for people to think
- 11:55Speaker 2: that they got the time or the concern for something
- 11:59Speaker 2: like that is ridiculous. And as I say, anything that's abused,
- 12:03Speaker 2: like the Leeds computer flat cameras, there has to be
- 12:05Speaker 2: guardrails and ramifications to hold you accountable. Not you to
- 12:09Speaker 2: hold the person accountable for that, that they're used in
- 12:12Speaker 2: their legal fashion. Just as there has to be the
- 12:14Speaker 2: same thing when you go to a bank, that you
- 12:18Speaker 2: expect your banking information, your balance in your accounts, that's
- 12:24Speaker 2: a private matter. And not for the teller to go
- 12:28Speaker 2: out and scream, hey, this person has half a million dollars,
- 12:31Speaker 2: or hey, this person is whatever. Just like when you
- 12:35Speaker 2: go to your doctor and the rules about your privacy
- 12:41Speaker 2: that they have to adhere to. So just stuff to
- 12:46Speaker 2: think about. I just think a lot of times people
- 12:48Speaker 2: just jump like, you know, and it's sad to say that.
- 12:52Speaker 2: But I'm trying to think how to say you're not
- 12:54Speaker 2: that interesting. The government doesn't care much about what you're
- 12:56Speaker 2: doing every day unless you're breaking a law. If you
- 13:00Speaker 2: rob a bank, then they're going to be more concerned
- 13:02Speaker 2: about you. But the rest of it. They're not. But
- 13:06Speaker 2: if your car is stolen or someone apprehends your kid
- 13:09Speaker 2: or there's a murderer fleeing or somebody that just robbed
- 13:15Speaker 2: the gas station and that person can get apprehended or
- 13:19Speaker 2: it's easier to track that person down, that's a good thing,
- 13:23Speaker 2: not a bad thing. Or if they run on the
- 13:26Speaker 2: lead's computer your license plate and you're driving and you're suspended,
- 13:30Speaker 2: that's a good thing because you're not supposed to be driving.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Because you're suspended or your tags haven't been renewed. There
- 13:37Speaker 2: are laws that have to be followed. So that's where
- 13:41Speaker 2: I am on flock cameras. Ohio AG criminalizes misuse of
- 13:46Speaker 2: flock cameras. Front page vindicate. I realize a lot of
- 13:49Speaker 2: people don't get the paper anymore. Well, calling flock cameras
- 13:54Speaker 2: automatic license plates reading cameras effective when used properly. Attorney
- 13:59Speaker 2: General Andy Wilson said the state legislature should criminalize their misuse.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Misuse of flock is rare, and breaches should result in
- 14:09Speaker 2: serious consequences. To that end, the Ohio General Assembly should
- 14:13Speaker 2: criminalize the misuse of flock just as it currently criminalizes
- 14:17Speaker 2: the misuse of other law enforcement technology, which I totally
- 14:22Speaker 2: agree with. But if it makes your police department's more efficient,
- 14:26Speaker 2: and it's safer for the patrol officers and safer for
- 14:29Speaker 2: your community, then I have absolutely no problem with it
- 14:34Speaker 2: whatsoever with the continuing use of flock cameras. Police officers
- 14:39Speaker 2: have a dangerous job, and society has changed in many ways,
- 14:47Speaker 2: in many, many ways. That's why and their second guest
- 14:53Speaker 2: as you can see in so many cases where they
- 14:55Speaker 2: make split-second decisions And their second guest You know, I
- 15:00Speaker 2: always cut a lot of slack to emergency room doctors
- 15:04Speaker 2: You come in and they're making split-second decisions trying to
- 15:06Speaker 2: save your life And then if somebody says well, they
- 15:09Speaker 2: should have done this instead of that then there's a
- 15:12Speaker 2: lawsuit they're gonna sit there and they're gonna go over
- 15:14Speaker 2: it for hours and But usually juries cut emergency room
- 15:19Speaker 2: doctors a lot of slack because they're making these decisions
- 15:22Speaker 2: as quick as they can with the information they have
- 15:24Speaker 2: trying to save your life. Well, police officers often have
- 15:28Speaker 2: to do very much the same thing. And without x-ray vision,
- 15:35Speaker 2: sometimes mistakes can happen. But if you follow the commands
- 15:39Speaker 2: you're given, as I've said numerous times when cars are
- 15:41Speaker 2: pulled over and people don't follow the commands that they're given,
- 15:44Speaker 2: it can only escalate the situation, makes everybody a lot
- 15:47Speaker 2: more intense because you're not listening. So in many cases,
- 15:53Speaker 2: as I've seen situations, I thought, well, we don't hold
- 15:56Speaker 2: the driver accountable. We only want to hold the officer accountable.
- 16:00Speaker 2: We want to hold the driver accountable for not listening
- 16:03Speaker 2: to the commands they're given. Stay in the car. Keep
- 16:06Speaker 2: your hands where we can see them. Get out of
- 16:08Speaker 2: the car, whatever those commands are that are given. If
- 16:11Speaker 2: you've got to beef with it, as Dave Beatrice says
- 16:13Speaker 2: on a legal show, that's what courts are for. That's
- 16:16Speaker 2: when you go to court. And that's when you deal
- 16:20Speaker 2: with it. But as you hear Beatrice Santelligo show, and
- 16:23Speaker 2: these aren't speed cameras, incidentally. And those can be controversial
- 16:27Speaker 2: because obviously they're speed cameras. They're used for revenue. Most
- 16:30Speaker 2: people know that. But the reality is, the argument communities
- 16:35Speaker 2: make is, guess what? It does slow people down in
- 16:38Speaker 2: those areas. Whether they're school zones or whether they're other areas,
- 16:42Speaker 2: they do slow down when they learn those speed cameras
- 16:44Speaker 2: are there. And So, and their argument is, guess what?
- 16:49Speaker 2: You won't get a camera ticket if you just go
- 16:52Speaker 2: the speed limit. Just some thoughts, some calls ahead. NewsRadio 570,

- 17:36Speaker 2: All righty. From NewsRadio 570, WKBN. Let's take some calls.
- 17:46Speaker 2: You're on air. Hello?
- 17:51Speaker 6: Hello?
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yes, go ahead, dear.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Hi, I'd like to make a comment on the paddling.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Paddling?
- 17:57Speaker 7: On the paddling that you were talking about earlier. The
- 18:01Speaker 7: school paddling.
- 18:03Speaker 8: All right.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I wasn't talking about it, but go ahead.
- 18:05Speaker 7: You weren't about kids getting paddled at school?
- 18:08Speaker 2: That's probably the, maybe it was Clay and Buck. But anyway,
- 18:10Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 18:11Speaker 7: Oh, maybe it was.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 18:13Speaker 6: Okay.
- 18:13Speaker 7: That's because I don't want to open a can of worms,
- 18:16Speaker 7: so I'm not going to say if this is public
- 18:18Speaker 7: or Catholic school. And if you got caught chewing gum
- 18:21Speaker 7: in school when I was little, male or female, you
- 18:24Speaker 7: would get hit with the yardstick in front of the class,
- 18:27Speaker 7: one big good hit, and then have to sit in
- 18:30Speaker 7: front of the class with gum on your nose the
- 18:31Speaker 7: rest of the day.
- 18:32Speaker 9: It was humiliating.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I just wanted to give them.
- 18:36Speaker 7: That must have been them this morning talking.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I missed that one. All right. Thank you, dear.
- 18:41Speaker 10: You too.
- 18:43Speaker 11: Okay.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Listen, I'm not opposed to discipline in schools. I think
- 18:46Speaker 2: our problem is the lack of discipline that we have.
- 18:49Speaker 2: at schools today. And when I went to school, yeah,
- 18:53Speaker 2: kids would get paddled. That was one of the options
- 18:55Speaker 2: that was available. All right. You're on here.
- 19:00Speaker 8: Well, guess what?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Did you see the.
- 19:04Speaker 12: Game last night?
- 19:06Speaker 4: I was three to three Sunday.
- 19:07Speaker 13: The Bengals, Ohio State, the Bengals, and the Browns. Well,
- 19:12Speaker 13: I should be four of four.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, maybe you're getting your mojo back. It's Dick
- 19:16Speaker 2: from Dayton. Did you watch the Monday night football game?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Did you see... The Rams last night?
- 19:21Speaker 13: No, I didn't watch them. I turned on the Bengals.
- 19:24Speaker 13: I came from rival study. And I turned on and
- 19:28Speaker 13: they watched. And then I turned over to the Browns game.
- 19:31Speaker 13: And I all of a sudden saw that rain in Florida.
- 19:35Speaker 13: That was terrible, wasn't it?
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I was one of those guys. I listened to
- 19:39Speaker 2: it on our sister station. It was like a two-hour
- 19:42Speaker 2: delay or something like that. But thank God they came
- 19:44Speaker 2: back and they were victorious. That's all that mattered. I mean,
- 19:48Speaker 2: the defense looked good. The quarterback looked good. Things seemed
- 19:53Speaker 2: to be pretty good on that game. Really good. I'm
- 19:56Speaker 2: glad they got it finished. And the Guardians are doing decent, too.
- 20:00Speaker 2: So far, so good.
- 20:01Speaker 13: He's a big fan of iHeartRadio.
- 20:04Speaker 8: Came with me in the rain yesterday.
- 20:07Speaker 13: Do you have a Buc-ee's up in Youngstown? You ever
- 20:09Speaker 13: heard of them?
- 20:10Speaker 2: I've heard of them. We don't have any in our area.
- 20:14Speaker 13: But I'll tell you what, me and Dave, we stayed
- 20:17Speaker 13: about an hour. But you better have good legs and
- 20:20Speaker 13: you better be, you know, you're physical because we were aching. And,
- 20:24Speaker 13: you know, and there.
- 20:25Speaker 14: Was no seats and it was packed.
- 20:28Speaker 6: And it was really a nice trip, though.
- 20:29Speaker 13: He got me a high estate sweater and a Browns
- 20:33Speaker 13: coin purse.
- 20:34Speaker 8: And we had a good time.
- 20:36Speaker 2: There you go. Thank you, Dick, from Dayton. Appreciate it.
- 20:39Speaker 6: You're welcome.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Enjoyed it. It's a good game Monday nights. You're on
- 20:42Speaker 2: the air.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Well, she needed an Ohio State sweater and a Cleveland
- 20:48Speaker 4: Browns coin purse.
- 20:50Speaker 2: You're echoing. You've got to get closer to the phone.
- 20:52Speaker 2: We've got to have quality here. Like, we want FM quality, okay?
- 20:56Speaker 2: We don't want this echo. Come on, get a little closer.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Put a little effort into your call. A little quality
- 21:04Speaker 2: into it.
- 21:06Speaker 4: I hardly got the downside put up the other day
- 21:09Speaker 4: because you were complaining about that. Stop making your banging
- 21:13Speaker 4: aluminum stuff around. I've got to get this done or
- 21:17Speaker 4: else it ain't going to happen.
- 21:18Speaker 2: It won't stop raining. It's raining every day.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Well, thank God I got the downspout out, right?
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yes.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Lord, I'm going to build a boat and start speaking Esperanto.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I mean, did you see yesterday at Verb Manor, we
- 21:35Speaker 2: had an inch of rain. I mean, it just kept
- 21:37Speaker 2: raining and raining. There was an inch of rain at
- 21:40Speaker 2: Verb Manor yesterday. And then today, of course, we got
- 21:42Speaker 2: this drizzle and kind of overcast skies. I mean, it's
- 21:47Speaker 2: just kind of... It's chilly and it's wet.
- 21:53Speaker 4: I do have to laugh. One of the silliest things
- 21:57Speaker 4: that Dan Rivers ever said in his many wonderful years
- 22:02Speaker 4: of broadcasting was radio stations can basically run themselves because,
- 22:08Speaker 4: as your other listeners know, whether it be in the morning,
- 22:12Speaker 4: whether it be maybe in the evening. For some reason,
- 22:17Speaker 4: you whip everybody into shape, but a lot of the
- 22:21Speaker 4: times the weather person will be a day behind.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:27Speaker 13: And I'm like.
- 22:28Speaker 4: And I'm like, wow, that's the greatest job in the world.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I can forecast the weather for yesterday.
- 22:35Speaker 11: Absolutely.
- 22:37Speaker 2: When the forecast is old. Hang on a second. I'll
- 22:39Speaker 2: come back to you after my break. Call us in line.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Stand by. It's Tuesday, September 22nd at 60 degrees. News
- 22:44Speaker 2: Radio 570 WKVN.
- 22:46Speaker 15: Bond has been set at $ 5 million for a man
- 22:52Speaker 15: charged in the fatal shooting of his wife and 18-year-old
- 22:55Speaker 15: son Saturday in North Olmstead. Ahmadi Ahmed Ali Al Nasser
- 22:59Speaker 15: reportedly shot the victims at the family's home on Evelyn
- 23:02Speaker 15: Drive and now faces charges including aggravated murder. Cincinnati's East
- 23:07Speaker 15: Price Hill was the scene of a shooting late Monday night.
- 23:10Speaker 15: Police say a 17-year-old boy was wounded in the shooting
- 23:13Speaker 15: outside of a Westmont Lane apartment building at around 11.30 p.m.
- 23:17Speaker 15: His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening. Four
- 23:21Speaker 15: people in Lorain County were taken to the hospital Monday
- 23:24Speaker 15: morning following a crash involving a school bus. Police say
- 23:27Speaker 15: the bus entered an intersection against a traffic signal and
- 23:30Speaker 15: was hit by a car. The bus driver, an assistant,
- 23:33Speaker 15: one student, and the driver of the car all sustained
- 23:36Speaker 15: minor injuries.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I'm Andy Betts.

- 23:47Speaker 2: Never sounded so good. A to Z dependable services. Plumbing, septic, heating, cooling,
- 23:52Speaker 2: and one-day baths.
- 23:54Speaker 17: Highways are accident-free while dealing with construction delays on I-80
- 23:58Speaker 17: East that stop and go from Route 62 to the
- 24:01Speaker 17: PA Welcome Center in Mercer County.
- 24:04Speaker 2: See something we don't? Give our tip line a call.
- 24:06Speaker 18: 330-305-1159.
- 24:07Speaker 17: I'm Mike Ross from the Total Traffic Center.
- 24:11Speaker 2: This report is sponsored by Progressive Insurance. And now, a
- 24:15Speaker 2: no-frills end.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Heidi Ho, 335 in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570 WKBN and
- 24:27Speaker 2: Ron Verb. All right. Jake has his gutter up. Did
- 24:31Speaker 2: you say you have your gutter up or you're in
- 24:32Speaker 2: the gutter? I forget which one it was.
- 24:34Speaker 4: A little bit of both.
- 24:36Speaker 2: All right. Now, get close. Stop the echo. And what's
- 24:40Speaker 2: on your mind?
- 24:40Speaker 4: I forgot to.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Give the shout-out to Rich and Denise and everybody out
- 24:51Speaker 4: there at Canfield Fair. Rich was gregarious in trying to
- 24:58Speaker 4: get people to sign up. It was a very nice
- 25:01Speaker 4: feeling seeing Americans doing what Americans should be doing.
- 25:06Speaker 2: So you were out at the fair, and Denise is terrific.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Denise and Becky and.
- 25:15Speaker 2: The helpers have put in so much of their time,
- 25:18Speaker 2: free time, to get signatures just to get something, this
- 25:20Speaker 2: constitutional amendment put on a ballot so you can vote
- 25:23Speaker 2: on it. I mean, they're true patriots. And then you
- 25:25Speaker 2: get people like Richard Pharmacist and that that go out
- 25:29Speaker 2: and assist them. I admire people who devote their time
- 25:32Speaker 2: doing that kind of stuff. They're great Americans.
- 25:38Speaker 4: You know what? If everybody does a little something, we
- 25:42Speaker 4: always get yelled at by the.
- 25:45Speaker 4: By the priest for handing out pro-life voter's guides after church.
- 25:51Speaker 4: And I always say, is that me letting you leave
- 25:54Speaker 4: here and never come back again?
- 25:55Speaker 6: Toast.
- 25:58Speaker 4: This is your choice. I'm not doing it inside the church, which,
- 26:03Speaker 4: you know, we all know a lot of churches are
- 26:06Speaker 4: allowed to do that, but not churches like mine. And, yeah,
- 26:12Speaker 4: you've got to do it. So there's three types of people.
- 26:16Speaker 4: There's fighters, those who help the fighters, and those who
- 26:19Speaker 4: do nothing. I don't want to be in that last category.
- 26:22Speaker 4: That's all. And we're all going for good things. So
- 26:29Speaker 4: single-issue voting. I really, really am on the single-issue voting
- 26:34Speaker 4: right now. And it's because, like... Senator Ted Cruz said,
- 26:41Speaker 4: every darn day you read another story about illegal aliens.
- 26:47Speaker 4: And it doesn't have to be the underage girl getting
- 26:51Speaker 4: raped in the rideshare. Like, how's the illegal alien, Haitian,
- 26:59Speaker 4: get the wine, give them a license? Because you shouldn't
- 27:05Speaker 4: have one. And then these companies that are getting away with, oh,
- 27:09Speaker 4: they're contract workers. Okay, you know what? You should still
- 27:12Speaker 4: have to e-verify. That should be upon you. We give
- 27:15Speaker 4: them a break, whether it's Amazon, any of the drive-sharing things,
- 27:18Speaker 4: the food delivery, any of them. You know what? We've
- 27:22Speaker 4: got to stop it because that's who's doing those jobs.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Well, like I've said before, like I would say to you,
- 27:29Speaker 2: as critical as I can be at Trump when it
- 27:31Speaker 2: comes to the war or when it comes to the
- 27:34Speaker 2: Epstein files, make no mistake about this. You would have
- 27:38Speaker 2: to have your head examined to vote for the Democrats.
- 27:41Speaker 2: The Democrats have gone as such far extremism in their party.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I mean, it became the party of the oddballs. I mean,
- 27:49Speaker 2: would you think I would vote to go back to
- 27:52Speaker 2: their energy policies, which are, okay, we're going to really
- 27:56Speaker 2: regulate drilling so that it's difficult to drill? that that's
- 27:59Speaker 2: good for energy or lowering energy prices? I mean, do
- 28:01Speaker 2: you think for one minute that the Democrats are going
- 28:05Speaker 2: to be good when it comes to energy? Well, they
- 28:07Speaker 2: weren't when they were in power. I mean, they didn't
- 28:10Speaker 2: want you drilling offshore. They didn't want you drilling on
- 28:12Speaker 2: federal lands. They put all the regulations in. They hate
- 28:15Speaker 2: fossil fuels, and they say it. So I take them
- 28:18Speaker 2: at their word. You think I want to vote for
- 28:20Speaker 2: the crazy sexual agenda that they have? I mean, there's
- 28:23Speaker 2: no way I could vote for Sherrod Brown. Now, I
- 28:25Speaker 2: think he might win in Ohio. But so be it.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Not with my votes. All I have is one vote.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I will not vote for the lunatics. I will not
- 28:35Speaker 2: vote for the lunatic agenda. But that's the great thing
- 28:38Speaker 2: about politics is you can sit here. I don't know
- 28:41Speaker 2: any politician I ever agree with 100% on anything. Don't
- 28:45Speaker 2: take it personal. I just don't agree with you on
- 28:47Speaker 2: every issue. That's America. We have a right to disagree.
- 28:51Speaker 2: And then we go from there. But in general... I
- 28:55Speaker 2: don't disagree. I disagree with the philosophy of the Democrat Party, period.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Do you?
- 29:00Speaker 4: And that's what I'm saying. I try to be one
- 29:05Speaker 4: inch to you because I hear this horrific thing. The
- 29:08Speaker 4: lady was on. The mom was on with Jordan and
- 29:13Speaker 4: her son got run over by an illegal driver, an
- 29:17Speaker 4: AP wheeler. The Sheridan Gorman got shot. Oh, she startled
- 29:22Speaker 4: the illegal alien, so he chased her down and shot
- 29:24Speaker 4: her in the face. That makes perfect sense. So I
- 29:30Speaker 4: stick with that, and then I hear, well, we got
- 29:33Speaker 4: to zero border crossings. I'm like, wow, that's pretty impressive.
- 29:38Speaker 4: And then I hear another person gets sentenced to decades
- 29:43Speaker 4: in prison for fraud, for stealing the American taxpayers' money.
- 29:47Speaker 4: And it was the University of Pittsburgh was one of them,
- 29:54Speaker 4: University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, was one of them that
- 29:57Speaker 4: signed a paper that forked over money and said, we
- 30:00Speaker 4: will not mutilate children anymore.
- 30:03Speaker 13: And I'm like, look.
- 30:05Speaker 4: I get it. I get affordability. I get Iran.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I get whatever.
- 30:10Speaker 4: You know what? There's no other way I can vote.
- 30:13Speaker 4: I can't support the other.
- 30:15Speaker 6: Team at all.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Amen. Well said. Well stated. And I hope more people
- 30:21Speaker 2: think like you. Keep up the fight. Thank you, Jake.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I mean, I'm with him 100%. I can be critical
- 30:28Speaker 2: of Trump, but by George, you know, I'm going to
- 30:31Speaker 2: champion on. You're on the air.
- 30:34Speaker 6: Hey, Ron, what's going on?
- 30:35Speaker 19: Good.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 30:38Speaker 8: I think we talked about this before. It was dealing
- 30:42Speaker 8: with ICE or National Guard or military troops or if
- 30:45Speaker 8: there was martial law downtown on the corners. It wouldn't
- 30:48Speaker 8: bother me not one bit because I'm not a criminal.
- 30:51Speaker 8: I'm not doing nothing illegal. These cameras, they let you
- 30:55Speaker 8: know they're in the area. We were just in Columbus
- 30:58Speaker 8: the other day, yesterday. They got them all over the
- 31:01Speaker 8: place down there. It doesn't bother me. The speed limit
- 31:04Speaker 8: is 35. I'm doing 34. I'm under the speed limit. So,
- 31:08Speaker 8: you know, like you were saying, if you're an honest citizen,
- 31:11Speaker 8: taxpayer citizen, the government already knows who you are. And
- 31:16Speaker 8: they know if you're a threat or not. I'm just average,
- 31:19Speaker 8: hardworking Joe. And the cameras don't bother me. I mean,
- 31:22Speaker 8: when I know they're in certain areas in Youngstown, I
- 31:24Speaker 8: just go another way. I just don't want to be bothered.
- 31:26Speaker 8: But they need them in Youngstown because it's the Wild West.
- 31:29Speaker 8: You have a lot of people that drive like idiots.
- 31:32Speaker 2: I mean, really, idiots.
- 31:33Speaker 8: So when I was in Columbus, they're all over the place.
- 31:37Speaker 8: I have no issue with them. They should have them
- 31:39Speaker 8: up here, too. And that guy you were talking to yesterday,
- 31:42Speaker 8: he sounds like he's hiding something because he was just
- 31:45Speaker 8: all upset about the camera or whatever. Listen, it's the
- 31:48Speaker 8: way things are going. It's technology. If you're an honest citizen,
- 31:53Speaker 8: don't worry about it. Just go ahead and do the
- 31:54Speaker 8: speed limit, you know, especially with the officers. When they
- 31:58Speaker 8: pull you over, they're running your license plate. So I
- 32:00Speaker 8: just don't understand that. These people want to save my rights,
- 32:04Speaker 8: and you're invading my privacy. Hey, if you're not doing
- 32:07Speaker 8: nothing wrong, you don't have nothing to worry about.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so you're comfortable with it, right?
- 32:14Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't have a problem. The older I've gotten,
- 32:16Speaker 8: I'll tell you what, when I was young, yeah, I
- 32:18Speaker 8: was a hot rodder.
- 32:19Speaker 6: I had a hot rod back in the early 80s.
- 32:22Speaker 8: Yeah, we didn't have cameras then. But, you know, I've
- 32:26Speaker 8: had many pullovers by the officers, speeding. But as I
- 32:30Speaker 8: got older, I got wiser. In fact, you're supposed to
- 32:35Speaker 8: drive better as you get older anyway. And so I do.
- 32:39Speaker 8: And when I see the cameras, I respect it. It
- 32:41Speaker 8: doesn't bother me one bit because I'm going to get
- 32:43Speaker 8: to where I need to get to.
- 32:44Speaker 2: See, the people that are opposed to these flat cameras,
- 32:49Speaker 2: they are becoming... It's the what-if crew, is what I say.
- 32:55Speaker 2: What if this? What if that? I mean, there is
- 32:57Speaker 2: a reason why we do... You know, the FBI isn't
- 32:59Speaker 2: all bad. Homeland Security isn't all bad. The NSA isn't
- 33:02Speaker 2: all bad. They prevent a lot of stuff as well.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I mean, there's always got to be guardrails and criticisms
- 33:09Speaker 2: that people can have. They've got to have... That's got
- 33:12Speaker 2: to be there. So I'm in agreement that you've got
- 33:16Speaker 2: to have guardrails. But the reality is... Listen, flock cameras
- 33:20Speaker 2: have been in Canfield, Boardman, Youngstown, and I'm not opposed
- 33:24Speaker 2: to them at all. They are a state-of-the-art tool for
- 33:29Speaker 2: police for making officers safer. And all they're doing is
- 33:34Speaker 2: reading license plates. They're just a stationary license plate reader.
- 33:38Speaker 2: And they can communicate from one area to the other area.
- 33:43Speaker 8: I agree. Before you go, I'd like to say something.
- 33:49Speaker 8: I was down visiting relatives in Columbus yesterday in Westerville, Ohio,
- 33:54Speaker 8: Office 71. And as a blue-collar guy where my relatives
- 34:00Speaker 8: stay at, you can definitely tell these are million-dollar houses.
- 34:05Speaker 8: I mean, when you have a golf course in the
- 34:07Speaker 8: back of your house and people are playing. Well, what
- 34:10Speaker 8: I'm getting at is, I said, now, these people around here,
- 34:14Speaker 8: they're making $ 300, 000, $ 500, 000, maybe even a million dollars, depending
- 34:19Speaker 8: on what they do. As far as gas goes, it's
- 34:22Speaker 8: not bothering them because of such high salaries. But the
- 34:27Speaker 8: average guy like me, $ 50, 000, $ 60, 000 a year guy, the
- 34:30Speaker 8: gas is getting guys like us. Because now I have
- 34:37Speaker 8: to be tactful when I want to go somewhere. You know,
- 34:40Speaker 8: I don't like putting $ 40 in my tank every other day.
- 34:43Speaker 8: That's another utility bill. So, you know, what it's hurting
- 34:48Speaker 8: is it's hurting the hard-working guys. You know, but as
- 34:53Speaker 8: far as if you're making a six-digit salary or whatever,
- 34:55Speaker 8: it's not bothering you. People still go about their day
- 34:58Speaker 8: because they can afford it, but it's the little guy
- 35:00Speaker 8: that it's hurting. So I miss those times. That's what
- 35:03Speaker 8: I miss is the cheap gas.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Well, listen, I'm the first to say any of these
- 35:07Speaker 2: people that try to justify it by saying, well, you know,
- 35:10Speaker 2: it used to be this much. There is no justifying it.
- 35:13Speaker 2: We cannot function without cheap energy. Whether that's heating your
- 35:18Speaker 2: house or electric for your house or putting fuel in
- 35:22Speaker 2: your tank, whether that's diesel or gasoline. Our electric prices
- 35:26Speaker 2: have doubled. Our natural gas prices are up. And your
- 35:29Speaker 2: gasoline and diesel prices are up. And it is a
- 35:34Speaker 2: big deal because people only have so much money. Their
- 35:37Speaker 2: incomes can't keep up with it. And they've got to
- 35:39Speaker 2: make sacrifices as a result of it. Trump is to
- 35:42Speaker 2: blame because this war is the reason why we're in
- 35:45Speaker 2: this situation. And he has to take ownership. Hopefully he
- 35:49Speaker 2: can get this thing resolved relatively quickly, that he can
- 35:52Speaker 2: get it resolved and the problem solved.
- 35:54Speaker 8: I think it's the new norm, Ron. It's the new
- 35:57Speaker 8: norm because it doesn't matter if a Democrat gets in there.
- 36:01Speaker 8: How do you turn it off? It's like one of those.
- 36:04Speaker 8: Remember that year when they had an oil leak in
- 36:07Speaker 8: the ocean and they were trying to close it off
- 36:10Speaker 8: and it was just spewing out oil and you're trying
- 36:13Speaker 8: to stop it. And so if you get a Democrat president,
- 36:16Speaker 8: I listen to people.
- 36:17Speaker 6: How are you going to turn it off?
- 36:18Speaker 20: What are you going to do?
- 36:19Speaker 8: Appease those guys?
- 36:20Speaker 6: Give them what they want?
- 36:21Speaker 2: You don't. I go back to say this. The Democrats
- 36:24Speaker 2: are against fossil fuels. They regulate. Let me back up
- 36:29Speaker 2: with you. The Democrats had the war on coal. The
- 36:32Speaker 2: war on coal said it closed down power plants under Obama, Clinton, Kerry,
- 36:38Speaker 2: and these wackos with the Green New Deal. The Samantis,
- 36:43Speaker 2: however you say it, plant was closed down. It had
- 36:46Speaker 2: the scrubbers. It had the latest technology. It generated a
- 36:48Speaker 2: lot of power and everything. But they could regulate it,
- 36:51Speaker 2: and they did right out of business. And then the
- 36:54Speaker 2: Obama administration insisted– that they'd be torn down so that
- 36:58Speaker 2: they could never be turned on again. They insisted on
- 37:01Speaker 2: it from their green energy deal, and they didn't have
- 37:04Speaker 2: anything to replace the amount of power that that plant
- 37:07Speaker 2: generated to be able to replace it. So their energy
- 37:11Speaker 2: philosophy was, well, rip it down, try windmills, try solar panels,
- 37:17Speaker 2: see if that can. None of this stuff replaced what
- 37:20Speaker 2: you had, the reliability of what you had. You're right
- 37:23Speaker 2: on target, brother.
- 37:24Speaker 8: Listen, I want to say one more thing. You know
- 37:27Speaker 8: the state of Ohio is against this area because when
- 37:30Speaker 8: you hear DeWine, they get a car plant for Springfield, Ohio,
- 37:34Speaker 8: over there with all the immigrants and all that. And
- 37:37Speaker 8: I sit there and I say, are you kidding me?
- 37:39Speaker 8: We need a car plant over here between Columbiana and Ashtabula,
- 37:44Speaker 8: Trumbull County and Mahoney. We have the territory. We've got
- 37:47Speaker 8: the Vianna Airport, the military airport. And they just told me,
- 37:50Speaker 8: I said, DeWine could care less about this area. Brown
- 37:54Speaker 8: is another one. He could care less about this section
- 37:56Speaker 8: of the state of Ohio because we could have easily
- 37:59Speaker 8: used that car plant that they're giving to Springfield. And
- 38:02Speaker 8: it just tells me they don't care about Youngstown. They
- 38:06Speaker 8: don't care about Warren. They don't care about Columbiana.
- 38:08Speaker 6: They don't care about Ashtabula.
- 38:11Speaker 8: It's all Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Toledo even, like I.
- 38:15Speaker 6: Said, is booming.
- 38:16Speaker 8: But over here, where we're.
- 38:17Speaker 3: At, brother?
- 38:18Speaker 8: No, they don't care at all, man. That's all I
- 38:20Speaker 8: got to say. I appreciate it. All right.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Thank you. Listen, the only time a lot of these
- 38:24Speaker 2: guys care is when they're running for reelection. I've said
- 38:29Speaker 2: this in the past and I said again, and it
- 38:30Speaker 2: does apply to Republicans as well. The time they care
- 38:33Speaker 2: about you is when they need your vote or your
- 38:36Speaker 2: tax dollars. The rest of the time they ignore you.
- 38:39Speaker 2: So I'm not naive. I mean, I'm highly disappointed in
- 38:42Speaker 2: a lot of the Republicans on a national level, a
- 38:46Speaker 2: lot of the Republicans that haven't codified the Trump agenda.
- 38:51Speaker 2: These executive orders that he would issue, well, the next president,
- 38:55Speaker 2: let's say the next president is a Democrat that comes in, well,
- 38:58Speaker 2: they can get rid of him with the stroke of
- 39:00Speaker 2: a pen. When the Republicans were in charge, they should have...
- 39:08Speaker 2: as they are, they should have codified these executive orders.
- 39:12Speaker 2: That should have been their goal that we're going to
- 39:13Speaker 2: stay here till we can make these things law. So
- 39:16Speaker 2: it isn't so easy when the next person comes in
- 39:19Speaker 2: so that they can just write a bunch of executive orders,
- 39:21Speaker 2: as Biden did, to get rid of the ones the
- 39:23Speaker 2: previous president did. So I'm disappointed in the Republican Party
- 39:29Speaker 2: and the Republican for not doing that there's plenty of
- 39:33Speaker 2: republicans that are career politicians as well that are in
- 39:37Speaker 2: the pocket of lobbyists the same criticism i have for
- 39:39Speaker 2: democrats goes to a lot of these republicans When you're
- 39:43Speaker 2: in charge, when you have both houses and the presidency,
- 39:46Speaker 2: you have fallen short on delivering the American agenda and
- 39:49Speaker 2: codifying it. You have fallen short on it. And it's
- 39:54Speaker 2: disappointing that we are where we are now. We're concerned
- 39:57Speaker 2: about the midterms and losing one of the houses or
- 39:59Speaker 2: maybe both. We're concerned about that now. What have you
- 40:03Speaker 2: been doing the first two years? I get so tired
- 40:08Speaker 2: of the talk. Well, all these investigations. Well, we had Fauci,
- 40:11Speaker 2: and he took the fifth all these times. Okay, well,
- 40:14Speaker 2: what difference did it make? Nothing happened to him. We
- 40:18Speaker 2: have these investigations of the Russian hoax, and we did
- 40:22Speaker 2: all this investigation. Nothing happened to any of these people.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I reach a point where I'm so tired. I'm all
- 40:28Speaker 2: for the investigations, getting the information out there, but where's
- 40:31Speaker 2: the follow-up? Where's the follow-through? To say, okay, we're done.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Now here's what's going to happen. We're going to hold
- 40:39Speaker 2: some of these people accountable for their evil acts. For
- 40:42Speaker 2: saying this whole Russian hoax for the first three years
- 40:45Speaker 2: of Trump's first presidency. Why wasn't anybody held accountable for
- 40:49Speaker 2: that deception that was laid on this country and on
- 40:53Speaker 2: his presidency? No one went to jail. No one was
- 40:57Speaker 2: held accountable. We did the investigation. We know it was
- 41:00Speaker 2: all a scam. What about the COVID situation? Well, we
- 41:05Speaker 2: know it was all the funding through Fauci and the
- 41:08Speaker 2: lies that were taking place. We heard all that during
- 41:11Speaker 2: the investigation, but there's no follow-through. No one's held accountable
- 41:14Speaker 2: for it. No one goes to jail. There's no accountability.
- 41:19Speaker 2: So to a certain extent, I get tired of that,
- 41:22Speaker 2: the lack of follow-through from the Republicans. I'll be back.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Here's a staggering fellow to you, KBN. All right, from
- 41:33Speaker 2: NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Like I was saying, though, if you
- 41:37Speaker 2: go back, that's why your electric, in part, why it's
- 41:40Speaker 2: gone up. I mean, the war on coal. They had
- 41:43Speaker 2: that situation, and it was Obama and Clinton and Biden
- 41:48Speaker 2: and Kerry and all that, the green energy stuff. They
- 41:51Speaker 2: hated fossil fuels. They made it clear that they hated
- 41:53Speaker 2: fossil fuels. So, basically... What they said was, let's regulate
- 41:58Speaker 2: these coal plants out of existence. The Samus plant was
- 42:01Speaker 2: closed down. Then they required that they be torn down.
- 42:05Speaker 2: They must be ripped down. They couldn't stay standing because
- 42:08Speaker 2: they never wanted the ability for them to be turned
- 42:10Speaker 2: back on. Can you imagine if they would have done
- 42:12Speaker 2: that with Three Mile Island, which is now being rehabbed
- 42:15Speaker 2: to be able to turn back on for the AI purposes?
- 42:19Speaker 2: They didn't rip the good reactor. They didn't get rid
- 42:22Speaker 2: of it. They're going to be using it. Imagine if
- 42:27Speaker 2: that would have been torn down. But this is ridiculous,
- 42:30Speaker 2: and it's why your electric bill has gone up, in
- 42:34Speaker 2: addition to the increased demand from AI. But it's a
- 42:39Speaker 2: domino effect. So that's why you're paying more for electricity. Well,
- 42:43Speaker 2: energy has to be cheap. Your electricity is getting more expensive.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Natural gas is more expensive. Your diesel fuel is more expensive.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Your gasoline is more expensive. No one's income is keeping
- 42:52Speaker 2: up with these double-digit increases.
- 42:54Speaker 8: Period.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Period. That is the reality. No one's income is keeping
- 42:59Speaker 2: up with it. So that's what's, you know, Trump got
- 43:07Speaker 2: duped into this situation. I'm convinced he thought it would
- 43:10Speaker 2: go much quicker than it did. They were ripe for
- 43:12Speaker 2: regime change, talked into it by Israel. Well, he got
- 43:16Speaker 2: into this mess and he created a mess. And I
- 43:18Speaker 2: don't think there's an easy way out or a good
- 43:20Speaker 2: way out for him right now.
- 43:24Speaker 3: At all.
- 43:25Speaker 2: And in the beginning, remember, Iran said, well, you want
- 43:28Speaker 2: to devastation us? We'll kick it right back your way
- 43:31Speaker 2: as well. So you got Ukraine out of control with
- 43:37Speaker 2: Zelensky now and these drones going into Russia, waiting for
- 43:41Speaker 2: that to escalate. You know, as they continue to go
- 43:45Speaker 2: into Russia, taking out the energy diesel situation in Russia,
- 43:52Speaker 2: hurting the energy grid in Russia. As far as our
- 43:56Speaker 2: diesel fuel is concerned and Russia's energy stuff. Trump asked Zelensky,
- 44:01Speaker 2: don't do that. Don't do it. Did it anyway. So
- 44:05Speaker 2: now that affects the cost of diesel. The war in
- 44:10Speaker 2: Ukraine and Zelensky. The situation in, obviously, Iran that Trump
- 44:16Speaker 2: started with no exit ramp. With no way out. Just
- 44:23Speaker 2: dragging on and on and on. And that's his, he
- 44:27Speaker 2: called those shots, he owns it. So, hopefully this can
- 44:34Speaker 2: get resolved. Like I said, despite all of that, I
- 44:36Speaker 2: could never vote for the wacky Democrats.
- 44:40Speaker 21: Do you know a veteran in need? After leaving the military,
- 44:44Speaker 21: many veterans struggle to find their way home. Because to
- 44:47Speaker 21: a veteran, home isn't just a place, it's an.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Idea, a feeling.
- 44:52Speaker 21: Nation's Finest understands the challenges veterans face. Through the VA's

- 45:56Speaker 22: A surprise meeting at the U.N.
- 45:58Speaker 23: On Lisa Brady, Fox News.
- 46:00Speaker 22: Two Trump envoys meeting for about three hours with Iranian officials,
- 46:04Speaker 22: including the foreign minister at the United Nations, where President
- 46:07Speaker 22: Trump warned earlier today he has a decision to make
- 46:11Speaker 22: about possibly making a deal with Iran.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Or do I annihilate?
- 46:15Speaker 24: The Islamic Republic, and do it quickly, never giving them
- 46:19Speaker 24: a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again.
- 46:23Speaker 22: He says Iran is attacking ships and neighbors out of desperation,
- 46:27Speaker 22: not strength, and suggests they're waiting to see what happens
- 46:30Speaker 22: in U.S.
- 46:30Speaker 23: Elections.
- 46:31Speaker 22: Iran's state media is reporting that they conveyed strict conditions
- 46:35Speaker 22: to U.S. representatives, including for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
- 46:39Speaker 22: President Trump also telling world leaders the U.S. will not
- 46:42Speaker 22: slow down on AI and rejects any attempted globalist scheme
- 46:47Speaker 22: to control AI as he continues to challenge warnings that
- 46:50Speaker 22: a slower pace of development and regulation are needed to
- 46:54Speaker 22: help minimize risk.
- 46:55Speaker 24: These are the same people that are now saying that
- 46:57Speaker 24: AI is going to kill us all, that robots are
- 47:00Speaker 24: going to attack us, and that everything is going to be.
- 47:03Speaker 2: A total disaster. Same group of people.
- 47:05Speaker 22: Though he also acknowledges every new technology brings challenges, AI
- 47:10Speaker 22: is expected to be one of the issues discussed during
- 47:12Speaker 22: a White House summit and state dinner this week with
- 47:15Speaker 22: China's president. Former Vice President Kamala Harris back on the
- 47:18Speaker 22: campaign trail to support China. Senate candidate Abdul Al-Sayed in Michigan.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Because on this subject, I know he will be a champion.
- 47:27Speaker 22: The two attending a roundtable on black maternal health in Detroit.
- 47:31Speaker 22: Al-Sayed's Republican opponent, former Congressman Mike Rogers, calling it a
- 47:35Speaker 22: desperate effort to save a flailing campaign. One new Suffolk
- 47:39Speaker 22: University poll gives Al-Sayed... a seven-point lead.
- 47:43Speaker 23: A mixed finish on Wall Street.
- 47:45Speaker 22: The Dow down 185 points at the bell, but the

- 48:28Speaker 11: Hi, everyone.
- 48:29Speaker 23: It's Candace Cameron-Buray.
- 48:31Speaker 11: Hey, everyone.
- 48:31Speaker 2: It's Phil Simms.
- 48:32Speaker 23: It's Dolores Catania.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Hey, everyone. I'm Kix Brooks.
- 48:36Speaker 23: It's Candace Bushnell.
- 48:37Speaker 2: I'm Rob Paulson. I'm Ryan Serhan. Hey, everyone. I'm Nicole Palizzi.
- 48:41Speaker 11: Hey, everybody.
- 48:41Speaker 2: It's Kevin Nealon. What's up, guys? It's Nia Su, and

- 48:54Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Back to NewsRadio 570 WKBN and Ron Verb. To get
- 49:03Speaker 2: my gist of what I was saying just prior to
- 49:05Speaker 2: the break at 4 o'clock, I mean, we've always functioned with,
- 49:09Speaker 2: and I think society has to function with, cheap energy.
- 49:12Speaker 2: I mean, that's just where you want to be. From
- 49:17Speaker 2: electricity to natural gas to diesel. to gasoline and we're
- 49:22Speaker 2: not in that situation right now and that's eating up
- 49:25Speaker 2: a lot of people's income it's a necessity and like
- 49:30Speaker 2: i say listen trump owns this war situation he got
- 49:33Speaker 2: into it i don't think there's a easy way out
- 49:35Speaker 2: of this And let's be realistic. It's not going well.
- 49:43Speaker 2: And prices continue to go up. So we shall see.
- 49:49Speaker 2: And then you've got the situation in Ukraine. It seems
- 49:52Speaker 2: to me all of these things are escalating, not de-escalating.
- 49:56Speaker 2: The situation in Ukraine is getting worse, not better, by
- 49:59Speaker 2: doing these attacks in Russia and taking out the energy infrastructure,
- 50:04Speaker 2: which is increasing prices even more. So we shall see
- 50:10Speaker 2: as time goes on. But like I say, even with
- 50:13Speaker 2: all that going on, I cannot vote for the wacky
- 50:15Speaker 2: Democrats and their wacky agenda. Don't count me in on
- 50:18Speaker 2: that because that's not going to happen. But you can
- 50:21Speaker 2: be critical of your own party. That's what I was
- 50:23Speaker 2: always critical of, people that just went along with Biden,
- 50:26Speaker 2: you know, and so whatever. They just were cheerleaders for him. No,
- 50:30Speaker 2: you've got to be able to look as an American.
- 50:31Speaker 2: You're an American first. There's got to be some degree
- 50:35Speaker 2: of common sense. That's why I say the same thing
- 50:38Speaker 2: with flat cameras. The good far outweighs any of the
- 50:41Speaker 2: evil or perceived bad or hypothetical. You're on the air.
- 50:46Speaker 26: Hi, Ron.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Hey, JJ the Trumpster.
- 50:49Speaker 11: How you doing?
- 50:52Speaker 12: How you doing?
- 50:53Speaker 2: I'm doing good. So far, so good.
- 50:55Speaker 8: Good.
- 50:55Speaker 4: I was just listening to you today.
- 50:58Speaker 18: You're a.
- 50:59Speaker 12: You're a very reasonable person.
- 51:01Speaker 4: There's a lot of things.
- 51:01Speaker 12: There's a couple things that you've been just recently talking
- 51:03Speaker 12: about I disagree with. But I also can come halfway
- 51:09Speaker 12: and realize that you are.
- 51:11Speaker 12: There's some points to it. First of all, the flock hammers.
- 51:14Speaker 12: If anybody, you know, what are you worried about?
- 51:18Speaker 13: Right.
- 51:18Speaker 12: You know, I mean, I don't want to get a
- 51:19Speaker 12: person who's got four DUIs that looks like he doesn't
- 51:23Speaker 12: have insurance and he's driving down the road. And that's
- 51:27Speaker 12: a given right there. Two, I'm very, very much a
- 51:30Speaker 12: proponent for the police department and people that are LEOs.
- 51:35Speaker 12: And the thing is, is your son a cop?
- 51:38Speaker 8: Yes.
- 51:39Speaker 12: Oh, I did not know that. Tell him to be
- 51:41Speaker 12: safe and always go home to his family, okay? Tell
- 51:44Speaker 12: him personally I asked him to do that.
- 51:46Speaker 2: I think you want that for all of them. I mean,
- 51:49Speaker 2: of course.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Oh, of course.
- 51:50Speaker 12: But I'm just making a comment on a personal level. But,
- 51:53Speaker 12: you know, there's if you even watch YouTube sometimes and
- 51:56Speaker 12: see about some of these people that police pull over
- 51:58Speaker 12: that go from a casual thing to these people pulling
- 52:01Speaker 12: out guns, trying to run them over. I have to
- 52:04Speaker 12: owe you the benefit to the to the police officers
- 52:07Speaker 12: and anyone when you use it for or something wrong,
- 52:11Speaker 12: they're going to get found out. It always works out
- 52:14Speaker 12: that way. You can only do so much crap before
- 52:16Speaker 12: eventually you get caught.
- 52:18Speaker 3: Everybody does.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Well, sometimes people get away with things. But I think
- 52:25Speaker 2: people would be surprised. I think people would be surprised
- 52:28Speaker 2: how many people don't follow the rules or the laws.
- 52:31Speaker 2: They just don't. They don't do it. Or they have
- 52:33Speaker 2: a million excuses why they don't do it. They'll be
- 52:36Speaker 2: driving under suspension, expired tags. Almost like the rules just
- 52:41Speaker 2: don't apply to them. They apply to everybody else. And
- 52:44Speaker 2: I think people would be surprised and or shocked the
- 52:47Speaker 2: lack of... uh respect a lot of people have for
- 52:51Speaker 2: the law or authority or even even uh just uh
- 52:57Speaker 2: i i think people would be would would be shocked
- 52:59Speaker 2: shocked by it listen and see this is why like
- 53:03Speaker 2: i say why i can spend time jj and i
- 53:07Speaker 2: folks if you listen all years how many times jj
- 53:10Speaker 2: and i have hoot and hollered at each other but
- 53:12Speaker 2: we but you know that's passion we get along we
- 53:15Speaker 2: like each other we continue to talk It's all good
- 53:18Speaker 2: as a result of it because we're both Americans first.
- 53:22Speaker 2: So what I'm saying to all of you is this nonsense,
- 53:27Speaker 2: you can become paranoid of everything. Anything can be abused,
- 53:30Speaker 2: I suspect. I mean, my cell phone probably knows more.
- 53:34Speaker 2: They know more about me when I Google stuff and
- 53:36Speaker 2: all this kind of stuff. They know all kinds of
- 53:38Speaker 2: stuff about me. And that's just the price of using
- 53:42Speaker 2: the cell phone. If I choose to use it, that
- 53:46Speaker 2: comes with it as far as when I Google stuff
- 53:49Speaker 2: and get an answer or whatever or knowing my location
- 53:53Speaker 2: and what have you. But I accept it. It's not
- 53:56Speaker 2: a big deal to me. So it's like flock cameras.
- 54:00Speaker 2: They're not a big deal to me. They're license plate readers. Oh,
- 54:03Speaker 2: they're not doing your speed. They're not concerned if you
- 54:07Speaker 2: went to Home Depot three times. This is nonsense. It's ridiculous.
- 54:11Speaker 12: Again, I apologize for interrupting. What, you think the government
- 54:17Speaker 12: is interested.
- 54:17Speaker 4: In what I'm doing today?
- 54:19Speaker 8: No, I don't.
- 54:20Speaker 12: I'm not doing anything online that.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Should be considered.
- 54:24Speaker 12: They don't give a hoot or hollabot who J.J.
- 54:27Speaker 7: Is.
- 54:28Speaker 12: So if you think they're following you, either you have
- 54:31Speaker 12: an extreme sense of entitlement or you're just nuts. And again,
- 54:36Speaker 12: I understand certain people say, well, this is just the beginning. Well,
- 54:39Speaker 12: if you have, that's the reason why I believe in
- 54:41Speaker 12: regulations to a degree. Because in law, because you can
- 54:45Speaker 12: have the right to be or not the right to
- 54:47Speaker 12: privilege to drive, but you have to obey the speed limit.
- 54:50Speaker 12: You have to stop at red lights. You have to
- 54:52Speaker 12: do these things. Same thing with energy. You have to
- 54:55Speaker 12: be able to make sure that you're not putting bad
- 54:57Speaker 12: things into air and the water for people to hurt people.
- 55:01Speaker 12: Regulations are good in a lot of ways and you
- 55:03Speaker 12: can overregulate. But I would rather side on something that's
- 55:07Speaker 12: being regulated a little bit more than they should, because
- 55:10Speaker 12: if you're doing something correct as a company, you're doing whatever.
- 55:15Speaker 12: I told you all the time, I don't trust anybody.
- 55:19Speaker 12: I'm sure not that you're all going to trust a
- 55:20Speaker 12: major corporation to do the right thing. So I have
- 55:24Speaker 12: to have things that are set in place that's going
- 55:26Speaker 12: to challenge them, and it's going to have them know
- 55:28Speaker 12: that somebody's watching them.
- 55:30Speaker 6: That's just the way it's got to be.
- 55:31Speaker 12: But the energy, I believe that we have to have petroleum-based. However,
- 55:36Speaker 12: I believe that we have to look toward the future
- 55:39Speaker 12: by injecting solar energy and hydro and so on and
- 55:44Speaker 12: so forth because I would be, again, not a person
- 55:48Speaker 12: who's growing as a human being not to realize that
- 55:50Speaker 12: I have I have to answer for your grandchildren and
- 55:53Speaker 12: for my son and for, believe it or not, Nick's grandchildren.
- 55:57Speaker 12: He's worried about blowing them all up and he doesn't
- 55:59Speaker 12: want to save his grandchildren.
- 56:00Speaker 13: That's insanity.
- 56:02Speaker 12: Anyway, so I agree with you and I also disagree
- 56:05Speaker 12: with you. And I agree that the Democrats have done
- 56:07Speaker 12: their share of crap and.
- 56:08Speaker 6: You guys know that.
- 56:09Speaker 12: But, you know, just as a prime example of how we,
- 56:12Speaker 12: you guys got to find somebody else to run the show.
- 56:15Speaker 12: I have no problem with Republicans being in charge as
- 56:18Speaker 12: long as they're doing the right.
- 56:20Speaker 3: For all of us.
- 56:21Speaker 12: And your president right now, the person I support all
- 56:23Speaker 12: the time, is today AI. He said, I'm going to
- 56:26Speaker 12: change it to SI, superior intelligence, because he just had
- 56:30Speaker 12: to throw his two cents in there. And that is
- 56:32Speaker 12: a that's that's that's troubling, man. I mean, you know,
- 56:36Speaker 12: I'm glad that you're making aware of it. I'm going
- 56:38Speaker 12: to kind of stop and listen to you approach. Are
- 56:40Speaker 12: you answer you? So you're two cents in there. But
- 56:44Speaker 12: it just was very important today. I was very proud
- 56:46Speaker 12: of you, and I wanted to challenge you. But, you know,
- 56:50Speaker 12: you don't let anybody slide, buddy. And that's a good thing.
- 56:53Speaker 12: And I'm glad that I have you as my friend
- 56:55Speaker 12: because you keep me on my toes.
- 56:57Speaker 2: God bless. Thank you. I appreciate it.
- 56:59Speaker 12: I'll just listen to your response. I'll go to somebody
- 57:01Speaker 12: else to talk.
- 57:02Speaker 11: All right.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Thank you. I mean, it's just, I mean, it's a
- 57:08Speaker 2: mixed bag. I mean, anything can be abused. There's got
- 57:12Speaker 2: to be accountability. And that's all you can say. I mean,
- 57:18Speaker 2: there's got to be accountability. We second-guess everything. Like I said,
- 57:23Speaker 2: lawyers second-guess emergency room doctors, and they're making split-second decisions
- 57:27Speaker 2: trying to keep you alive. A lot of times, cops
- 57:29Speaker 2: are making split-second decisions in dangerous situations, mostly at night.
- 57:35Speaker 14: And.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Sometimes mistakes can happen and they are an honest mistake, unfortunately.
- 57:45Speaker 2: And we can spend all kinds of time reviewing that
- 57:48Speaker 2: kind of stuff. But there are tools that are used
- 57:51Speaker 2: to make modern technology, to make things better, more efficient
- 57:56Speaker 2: and safer for the community and for the officers and
- 58:01Speaker 2: making people more efficient. It's modern technology. And you see
- 58:08Speaker 2: it a lot. You see, I mean, if you go
- 58:10Speaker 2: into a store, you're on camera everywhere. They got to
- 58:13Speaker 2: watch you because there's so many shoplifters anymore these days.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Many of these stores have flock cameras in their parking
- 58:19Speaker 2: lots and other cameras in their parking lots because they
- 58:21Speaker 2: need to. I mean, when you're out in public, what
- 58:26Speaker 2: do they say? You don't really have a right to privacy.
- 58:28Speaker 2: You're out in public. That license plate belongs to the state.
- 58:31Speaker 2: You're on a public highway. You got to get a
- 58:34Speaker 2: driver's license and there are these rules. So if we
- 58:38Speaker 2: have a flat camera that is a license plate reader
- 58:42Speaker 2: for the sake of somebody who committed a murder in
- 58:45Speaker 2: a county coming into your county and it helps apprehend
- 58:48Speaker 2: that person, that's a good thing. The good far outweighs
- 58:50Speaker 2: any of the so-called hypothetical bad. And any of the abuses,
- 58:57Speaker 2: those people should be held accountable as in any profession.
- 59:00Speaker 11: Period.
- 59:01Speaker 2: End of story. I mean I don't know what the
- 59:05Speaker 2: motivation is for people making a big deal out of it.
- 59:08Speaker 2: I mean if they ever get abused. then we have
- 59:10Speaker 2: to deal with it with the people that abuse them
- 59:12Speaker 2: as far as, and I think you're seeing that just
- 59:14Speaker 2: as you do with Leeds computers. And I think you'll
- 59:16Speaker 2: see that just as if people feel they would get
- 59:20Speaker 2: out of hand. But these are all hypothetical, paranoid stuff.
- 59:29Speaker 2: And I think it's ridiculous. You're on the air.
- 59:32Speaker 26: Hey, Ron. No hypothetical here. It's a lot of cameras.
- 59:36Speaker 26: You know, I've taught my kids to think principally and
- 59:40Speaker 26: not just on a situational basis. You know, our country
- 59:45Speaker 26: has been in a situation where we've been trained for
- 59:48Speaker 26: 200-plus years not to depend on our government and not
- 59:52Speaker 26: to trust our government, which is the Second Amendment. In 2013...
- 59:58Speaker 26: The IRS targeted with information, political information, targeted 501C programs
- 1:00:05Speaker 26: that were on the Republican side. 2017, a similar thing
- 1:00:09Speaker 26: happened with the IRS and their money. Here's the other thing.
- 1:00:12Speaker 26: We won't trust corporations, but we'll trust a government authority
- 1:00:17Speaker 26: to handle our information.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Well, pause for just a second. Yeah, you've had, as
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: I spoke about earlier the first hour, you had people
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: that's released Trump's tax return and Sean Hannity's tax returns.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: That's illegal. The person was held accountable and ultimately he
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: went to jail as a result of it and should.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: But the New York Times published it and they should
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: be held accountable. I don't know if Trump sued him
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: or if Sean Hannity did and was successful. That I
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: don't know. But they should have been sued over it
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: because it's a major violation of Of their privacy, and
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: it was stolen material. Just because you have some bad
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: actors in government doesn't mean all people in government are bad.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: I spoke about this yesterday, and I would say this
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: to you. I'm not opposed to the EPA. I know
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: that there are many companies that were dumping into the
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: rivers pollution that shouldn't be dumped in there. All private
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: sector companies, I think you were saying it, don't operate
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: legitimately and honorably, whether that's fracking waste or whether that's
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: polluting water. air pollution or that's putting stuff in the
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: storm sewers. So there needs to be an EPA to
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: make sure the water you drink is clean and the
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: air you breathe is. Now, can we overregulate? Absolutely. Can we?
- 1:01:26Speaker 26: I think there's fear of overreach. I think that's where
- 1:01:30Speaker 26: people are coming. There's fear of overreach.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but you can fear everything. But when's the last time.
- 1:01:36Speaker 26: A political idiot has been anybody from COVID, anybody from Russia, Russia, Russia.
- 1:01:41Speaker 26: When has anybody been held accountable?
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Well, I spoke about that the first hour. And that's
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: the problem that you have to say, as I said,
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: where are the Republicans? The Republicans just had all these
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: hearings where Fauci took the fifth. What do they do
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: about it?
- 1:01:55Speaker 26: I'm just saying that's why people are fearing.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but the reality is you shouldn't fear it.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: You should say, I want accountability. I'm tired of the
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: dog and pony shows from the Republican Party that says, okay,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: we showed you the Russian hoax. What happened?
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: Nothing.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Well, whose fault is that? Where was the follow-through? I mean,
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: I'll be as simple as that. I mean, so where
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: was the follow-through with Fauci and COVID? Biden obviously gave
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: him a pardon, but where was the follow-through on any
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: of this stuff? It's all talk. It's all show and mirrors.
- 1:02:32Speaker 26: Do we hypothetically give up our privacy in this way?
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: Of course you've given up your privacy.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: For security?
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: No.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: Do we give up our guns, too?
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: No.
- 1:02:44Speaker 26: Because Trump said we've got the greatest army or military
- 1:02:49Speaker 26: in the nation probably in ever history. the most prosperity.
- 1:02:54Speaker 26: So I don't want to just go ahead and give.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Up my guns.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: I don't know what he's asking you to give up
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: your guns. I mean, you've got some wackos.
- 1:03:00Speaker 26: But like I said earlier, there's a principle involved that says,
- 1:03:03Speaker 26: you know what, we shouldn't trust this in the hands
- 1:03:06Speaker 26: of government officials entities.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Well, I don't know. When I hear that, when I
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: hear that, I say, well, do you call the police?
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Do you call the fire department if your house is
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: burning down? Do you trust them to come?
- 1:03:18Speaker 26: They don't have my private information. They do now, but
- 1:03:22Speaker 26: they didn't used to have my private information. They don't
- 1:03:26Speaker 26: need my private information.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: I don't think they care about the only people that
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: have your private information from.
- 1:03:31Speaker 11: Government falls into the hand.
- 1:03:33Speaker 26: This is the thing that we're saying. The IRS information
- 1:03:36Speaker 26: fell into the hands of of a political party that
- 1:03:40Speaker 26: used it against citizens of the United States.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: And they should be held accountable. Period.
- 1:03:46Speaker 26: That's what people are afraid of. One time they were
- 1:03:49Speaker 26: held when it happened to the president. What about all
- 1:03:52Speaker 26: those 501Cs? Where's their retribution? There was none that I
- 1:03:56Speaker 26: know of.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Frankly, I can't– that was against the Tea Party when
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: it happened.
- 1:04:01Speaker 26: Yeah, a lot of those Tea Parties.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: And I don't know. For example, let me give you
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: an example. I am opposed to the– I don't think–
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: and I think it will be resolved. I don't think
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: that the president has any right to throw out CNN
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: and all these networks I disagree with from covering the
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: White House. And I think this is freedom of speech
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: and he does it anyway and I think it will
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: be resolved and they will be back because he doesn't
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: like how they're covering him and this kind of stuff.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: But the instances of problems doesn't negate all the good
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: that happens. I mean, you know, I can cite you
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: numerous ones. The cover-up of Agent Orange. I can cite
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: you all the things that you stated. Russian hoax. The
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: COVID cover-up that we've seen over the years. The lies
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: that you've been told as far as when a lot
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: of these wars were started. So I'm not saying that
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: there isn't politics involved in governments.
- 1:05:01Speaker 26: I think there's enough that has happened in the name
- 1:05:05Speaker 26: of our government. that people are shying away from the
- 1:05:09Speaker 26: idea of.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: A flock camera. Well, first of all, a flock camera
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: is your local police department. I mean, obviously, adjoining counties
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: can share that information or what have you. But, I mean,
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: everyone wants to equate everything. I doubt that you know
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: how much, like, your NSA has probably uncovered and prevented
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: from happening in your country because they can't brag about it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: They can't tell you about it. the terrorists that they've
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: tracked or the bioweapons that they've apprehended. Stand by for me.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Hang on for a second. I'll get back to you
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: in a minute. News Radio 570 WKBN and Ron Furp,
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: 422 in the afternoon. We'll be right back.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Do you want to sell your home without 570 WKBN?
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Ron Furp from News Radio 570 WKBN. You know, there's
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: always a good reason to have reasonable suspicion and keep
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: your guard up because government can abuse things. And you
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: shouldn't trust anything they say. You know, what does Reagan say?
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Trust but verify. Because I think people have been duped
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: many times into... In many cases, military situations, whether that's
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Vietnam or some of the situations in the Middle East
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: that were not what they appeared to be. Let me
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: put it that way, including this current situation in Iran.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: So I'm not questioning your ability to question the government
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: or be suspicious of it. That is something I would
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: encourage you to have. But I do think you also
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: have to say there is good that comes from some
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: of this stuff, and there always has to be guardrails because–
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: The NSA does do a job to protect, and the FBI,
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: to protect the country from terrorism. And they can't stand
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: up and brag. Here's what we did today. Here's what
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: we stopped today. I mean, it's just such a covert operation.
- 1:07:01Speaker 26: I don't believe that, like, Boss Lady and G2, I
- 1:07:05Speaker 26: don't think that they're sky-falling kind of people or that
- 1:07:08Speaker 26: they're panicked or that they're paranoid. I think the people
- 1:07:13Speaker 26: who are concerned about these, I think they have what
- 1:07:16Speaker 26: you just said. I think they have that.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 1:07:20Speaker 26: But they argue their points vehemently, and I get that, too.
- 1:07:25Speaker 26: So I think that most people who are against the
- 1:07:29Speaker 26: law case, I don't think they're necessarily paranoid. I think
- 1:07:32Speaker 26: they're just trusting a... I don't like the.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Way this is going. But it's not based on anything.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: You know, the people that do that say, well, they
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: were abused in this area or this community by this
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: cop or this cop or whatever, and they have been abused.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: But there's ramifications to that. You know, we don't talk
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: about the— No, we don't hope there are. Just as
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: there are to the Leeds computer. There's serious ramifications to this.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: So the reality is you don't hear about the 99%
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: of the cops that just use it for what it's
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: used for and the benefit that comes to communities in
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: catching criminals. criminals that makes your community safer. You don't
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: hear about all of all of those cops that do
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. And they always want to say, well,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: this was done here. Well, OK, sometimes you have bad
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: people in bad professions and they got to be held
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: accountable for that. But you don't want to wash out
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: the benefits.
- 1:08:28Speaker 26: Of government, though, that brings this with it.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Well, right, but I mean, you can go to an
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: extreme on your mistrust as well.
- 1:08:40Speaker 26: True, I agree, but I agree, but I still feel,
- 1:08:43Speaker 26: when you say there's no foundation for it, it's like,
- 1:08:45Speaker 26: I think there's a general mistrust throughout our nation.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with you having that.
- 1:08:50Speaker 26: Voting about what they're going to do about, they're not
- 1:08:53Speaker 26: going to do anything about this, you know, the election fraud,
- 1:08:57Speaker 26: they're not going to do anything about anything, no one
- 1:09:00Speaker 26: in power is being held accountable. And so people look
- 1:09:03Speaker 26: at a situation like that, we're going to give our
- 1:09:05Speaker 26: privacy information to somebody who's going to be in power.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: I don't think they care. I say this, and I
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: know it sounds insulting. They don't care about you and
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: what you're doing, your privacy information. That's not what the
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: point of a flock camera is. They don't have the
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: time to deal with your situation. I mean, I guess
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: I have a unique perspective on it because I can
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: hear it not firsthand, but secondhand from my own son.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: I mean, people have no idea what's going on out there.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: You know, and, you know, I had another son in
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: the military for a long time who dealt with many
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: of the things that people, that are just, people have
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: no idea the evil in the world. And sometimes …
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: some of the stuff that goes on. So, I mean,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: I'm not against a healthy skepticism. But by God, I'm
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: not for tying the hands of law enforcement, denying them
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: technology to be able to do their job efficiently and
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: make your... If somebody apprehends somebody's kids, I want there
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: to be a flat camera because I want that kid
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: to get home to their parents. And if that helps,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: that happens.
- 1:10:16Speaker 26: I have an instance. They caught a package stealer on
- 1:10:20Speaker 26: my porch out in Stubborn. So a flat camera at
- 1:10:24Speaker 26: the church.
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: Across the street.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: And that's a good thing.
- 1:10:29Speaker 26: I'm on the fence about the whole deal, me personally.
- 1:10:33Speaker 26: But I can sympathize and understand.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Well, I think you make a sound argument. And I
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: don't disagree with you. You're saying it's okay and we
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: should question our government and be suspicious of it and
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: make sure things stay in line. And if we perceive
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: them not getting out of line, we should react to
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: it right away. I actually agree with the comments that
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: you're making. And I do agree with them.
- 1:10:55Speaker 8: All right?
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Appreciate it.
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: All right, Ron.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Thank you. I think the guy made a nice cohesive argument.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: NewsRadio 570, WKBN and Ron Furp. I'll be right back.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570, WKBN. There might.
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: Be relief ahead for Ohioans at the gas pumps. Speaker
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: of the Ohio House of Representatives is calling a special
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: session of the legislature for next week. They're going to
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: deal only with suspension of Ohio's gas tax.
- 1:11:23Speaker 27: We'll be able to knock 38.5 cents off regular and
- 1:11:27Speaker 27: 48.5 cents off diesel if we can pass this. I'm
- 1:11:30Speaker 27: going to call the House back in session next Wednesday.
- 1:11:33Speaker 27: In working with Senate President McCauley, I believe he intends
- 1:11:36Speaker 27: to do that either Wednesday or Thursday.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: House Speaker Matt Huffman expects bipartisan support. In Cincinnati, police
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: are no longer going to block any streets near the
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: University of Cincinnati. No more closings of Calhoun and McMillan
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: like in recent weekends. The police chief saying at City
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: Hall today that much of the trouble they saw to
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: start the school year stemmed from pop-up parties, and the
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: person who allegedly promoted them has been arrested.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: I'm Matt Reed.
- 1:12:01Speaker 16: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:12:05Speaker 16: and sports radio.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Podcasts, too. Download the app. Free never sounded so good.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: From the A to Z Dependable Services Traffic Center, now
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Ron Verb.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: On NewsRadio 570, WKBN. All right, with you until 6.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: On a Tuesday on NewsRadio 570, WKBN, September 22nd, already
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: 59 degrees, and you're on the air.
- 1:12:30Speaker 11: Hey, Ron.
- 1:12:30Speaker 24: Yes.
- 1:12:31Speaker 11: Good afternoon. How you doing?
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Good. Go ahead.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I have to say I agree with you about 98%
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: of the time with what you say about everything. But
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I wanted to, I called you in last week, and
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: I was listening to you talk about the Iran war,
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: At the U.N. meeting today with President Trump's speech, he
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: got probably two to three rounds of applause. Now, his
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: biggest round of applause came when he said, Iran will
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: not get a nuclear weapon. Now, that's coming from the
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: world leaders in the Middle East and over there. And
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: that was his biggest round of applause. I encourage you
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: to go listen to it and watch it. You know
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: what I mean? And these are the people that know
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: they are a threat, that they would use a nuclear weapon.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: The 50 years of them attacking all the different countries,
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: including us and the embassy and the hostages and the coal,
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: these people are brutal and vicious, all right, that are
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: in leadership of that country, and they cannot have a
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: nuclear bomb. They are a threat. And I wish you'd
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: go watch that speech. And that's coming from the leaders
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: of the world that particularly don't like Israel, a lot
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: of them, and don't like the United States, a lot
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: of them, because of who we are. But we pay
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: for the U.N. How do you feel about that?
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Do you think North Korea should have a nuclear weapon?
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Pardon me?
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Who determines who has nuclear weapons?
- 1:13:58Speaker 14: All right.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: I mean, Bill.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Clinton would have done his job. No, I don't want
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: to have a nuclear weapon.
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: OK, I'm just asking you a question.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: He would have had a backbone and stood up to him.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: All right. All right. I'm just asking you a question.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: So what do you want to do about it? I
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: don't think that they are. They're a threat to the
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: first of all, the United States. I don't believe they're
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: a threat to the United States. And I believe the
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: bunker buster worked. So let's start with one and two
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: right off the bat. So let's go from there. Now,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: let me go to your scenario. So what do you
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: want to do now?
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: What do I want to do now? I want to re-in. Okay,
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: you said they're not a threat, but they bombed the coal,
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: they bombed the embassy.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: I'm asking you, what do you want to do now?
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Because I believe the bunker buster worked. I don't think
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: they're a threat to the United States. I told you before,
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: I think he did it because Israel talked him into it.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: He thought it would go much quicker than it is.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: And what you're seeing is it's devastating. It's hurting greatly
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: the American economy and the American consumer. Outside of that
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: being said, where do you go from here? Because all
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Iran has to do, a country of 93 million people,
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: 6,000 miles from the United States. And with mountains surrounding
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: it and 93 million people, what do you want to
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: do now? Because it's going nowhere. Nothing is, I mean.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: Well, hey, Ron, if you would fight the war to
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: win it instead.
- 1:15:25Speaker 11: Of our media. I'm not asking.
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: You can't hit your power industry. That's cruel and inhumane.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: It's war. You fight a war to win it. You
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: don't tie your hands and say, oh, we got to
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: play nice. We're not going to try and win this
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: because our media and the left says that's just.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Wait a minute. The media and the left isn't this.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: When you say this stuff.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: Did they not say that wrong?
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: I want you to listen for a minute. Just calm down.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: What I'm saying to you is, forget the media. None
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: of this has been debated by Congress in Washington at all.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: I mean, there has not been major debate through the
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: parties to say, how much further do you want to
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: go on this? Do you want to put boots on
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: the ground? Do you want to bomb it even more?
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: How come they're not debating Ukraine and getting it under control, Ron?
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: There are two wars going on.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: You only bring up Iran.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Don't you think that's a fair question?
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: I think it's a very fair question, but I think
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: the other fair question is get some control on Zelensky,
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: all right? Because we are still funding that war.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: Listen, I'm trying to have it.
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: And talk about instead of spending billions of tax dollars
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: of money, what is it, five years now?
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Well, what do you want to do?
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: With no end to that war. There's five years in
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: Ukraine and there's no end.
- 1:16:41Speaker 11: Five years, Ron.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: Why don't you talk about that?
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: I do talk about it. As a matter of fact,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: I've talked about it.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: You don't talk about it nearly as much. And how
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: much money has this country lost to it?
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Do you want to give me an opportunity to speak?
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Because every time I speak, you keep interrupting me.
- 1:16:58Speaker 11: Go ahead.
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: I mean, I've talked about it numerous times. And I'll
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: tell you, as I said before, I don't think it
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: should have started in the first place. I think there
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: was an agenda going on as far as the Ukraine
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: war was happening. And I put that blame on Biden.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: And quite frankly, it's clear to me Russia, and I understand,
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: does not want NATO on its doorstep. And they are
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: not going to accept that. They make it very clear
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: that they do not want that. So Russia had its
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: demands to prevent this, close down the biolabs. The United
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: States denied and lied that there were biolabs in the Ukraine.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: And Russia said, no, you need to close them down.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: We want the people to be held accountable there. We
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: do not want NATO on our doorstep. And we want
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: you to stop slaughtering the Russian-speaking people in the Donbass region.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: Those were their demands. And for whatever reason, there's a
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: kind of a different initiative put by NATO. I know
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: the Victorian Newlands of the world who thought who kind
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: of egg this situation on. Well, this is dragged on
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: for a long period of time. And now you see
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: it escalating with Zelensky with going further into Russia, destroying
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: their energy infrastructure, that affecting your gas and diesel prices
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: here in the United States as well. So can that
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: situation escalate and become much bigger? I think it's on
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: the verge of that happening based on the actions Zelensky
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: is taking. Trump asked Zelensky not to do what he
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: did to the gas or the petroleum structures in Russia.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: Apparently he didn't listen. Trump has said when he got elected,
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: I can solve this the first day. Trump has said
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: Zelensky don't do that. So it seems like I don't
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: know what you want him to do as it continues
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: to go on. I mean, I talked to numerous times.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: I'm not going to talk about it every damn day
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: about the war in the Ukraine. I mean, I talked,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: I tried to explain to people, well, this is why
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Russia went here and here and here, because they said,
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: why is Russia going where they're going? Well, they were
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: going to shut these bio labs down. It came to be.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Victoria Nuland had to come out and publicly say, basically,
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: we were lying. There were bio labs there. And now
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: we're worried because Russia took them over. So she was lying.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: I'm not a big fan or supporter of the Victorian
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: Newlands and their agenda, which has been a failed agenda. Now,
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: all I'm asking you, outside of all of that, is, okay,
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: what do you want to do now in 2020? Iran,
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: all they have to do is survive. They are not
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: making any agreements. They're not agreeing to anything. They were
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: the ones that have been attacked here, and they're saying,
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: there's no agreement. None of this stuff that Trump talks
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: about and has talked about repeatedly has happened. All along,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: they said, this is nonsense. So what do you want
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: to do now? I mean, what do you want to
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: do right now with this situation? In Iran. What's your
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: answer to get out of it?
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: Well, I got two answers. You're not wrong about your
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: points going back to Ukraine. Okay, and what happened there?
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: But I'm going to add something to it. Europe, who's
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: under more threat, won't put their own people on the
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: front line to stand up to it. They want us to.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Who, Ukraine? I do not agree with that at all.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: Ukraine has put their people on the front line. I'm
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: going to be blunt with you.
- 1:20:22Speaker 6: No, I said Europe.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: Germany, France, Spain, Italy.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: As far as Ukraine is concerned?
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:20:30Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: They they're not getting involved in this in this situation.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: And they have a right to say we're not getting
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: involved in this. We think this was a mistake from
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: the very beginning and it shouldn't shouldn't have happened. So
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: you can't fault fault them. The Ukraine has been. Listen,
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: the Ukraine, most of the Ukraine military has been slaughtered.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: They're running out of people, for God's sakes. They were
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: taking 60-year-old people off the street with minimal training and
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: put them on the damn front line. I mean, most
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: of their people were slaughtered. Now, you know as well
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: as I do, Russia could step it up tomorrow and
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: really devastate the country even more if they wanted to.
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: Why haven't they in five years?
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: I don't think they want to escalate it. I don't
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: think they want to do that.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: But they're losing thousands of soldiers every month.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: I don't think they want to. I think they're trying
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: not to escalate it. I think it's being escalated by
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: the Ukraine by flying these drones and what have you
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: further into Russia. And I think you could very well
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: easily end up with a much larger war as a
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: result of those actions against the wishes of the President
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: of the United States. Period. Against his wishes. And so
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: I don't know where he goes from here. This continues
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: to drag on for five years. But it's the same guy.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: I go back to say in the Middle East, Afghanistan,
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: what did those soldiers die for? And what did or
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: the ones that survived who lost arms, legs, limbs and
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: their mobility died? When it was all said and done,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: they gave the country right back to the terrorists in
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: better shape than when we took it. Those soldiers died
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: for absolutely no reason at all. As a matter of fact,
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: most of the stuff in the Middle East we've been
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: failures at. The Middle East is a long way away
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: from the United States of America. So that's why Trump
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: ran on, get the hell out of it, stop these
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: endless wars. And I believe, once again, he was talked
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: into it by whether it's the large donors or Israel
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: to get involved in this. And now he's trying to
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: figure out how the hell to get out of it.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: And there's no easy way out of it at all
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: for them. There isn't an easy way. I mean, we
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: bombed the living hell out of them, not once, several times. Okay,
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: so let's go back and do some more of that. Well,
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: that didn't work. Well, we're going to hit them with
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: the economic bomb. Well, that didn't seem to work.
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: With Iran, that did work. Their Navy's at the bottom
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: of the sea. Their Air Force is gone.
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: They didn't have much of a Navy or Air Force
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: to begin with, though.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: Oh, they had a very good Navy. It was almost
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: 200 ships.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Okay, but it wasn't a major Navy. So, okay, with
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: all of that being said, have they surrendered? Have they
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: given in?
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: No, because we didn't hit their infrastructure.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Okay, so what you want to do— We stopped.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: It hitting— how do you bring a country to its knees
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: and get them to a degree? When you go to war,
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: you go to war to win it. You don't go
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: there just to hit the selective party. If you want
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: them to come to the table, you take away their
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: power and water, and you bring them to the table.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Okay, so they bought a living hell out of the country,
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: so we should take out their desalination plants and their
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: power structure.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: Do you want to win or not win?
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: I'm asking you.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: Well, no, I'm saying yes, because you want to win it.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: If they won't give up to that point, how do
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: you think we won World War II? We didn't stop
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: hitting Germany.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: Well, now, wait a minute. World War II, the United
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: States was attacked. So that was a whole different scenario,
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: World War II, than what is taking place here. What
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: do you call it, Cole? No, I'm talking about.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: What do you call Beirut?
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: Listen... What I'm saying to you is we attacked Iran
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: at this point in time, long after all of that
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: stuff has happened. We didn't attack it at that particular time.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: They attacked it now.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: No, because we had a president who didn't have balls.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Okay. Well, this president, according to you, has balls. Well,
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: how come it hasn't? But you're unhappy with how he's
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: running it. You're saying we didn't have a president with balls. Well,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: apparently you think this guy's got balls, but apparently you
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: don't think he has enough of them. Because somehow, somehow.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: You're going into an election and you've got the media
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: every day saying, oh, that would be cruel. That's inhumane.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: That's war crimes.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Why didn't he do it? Why didn't he do it?
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: Why didn't he do it two years ago? He clearly
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: doesn't give a damn about what the media says. I mean,
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: if he's got so much balls, why hasn't he done that?
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: I mean, you seem to know more than the generals
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: calling the shots that are in charge of this situation.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: No, I'm a historian, and you're asking me what I
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: would do.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: But they're not doing that, are they? They're not doing that.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: I can't wrap my mind around you that we were
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: not attacked on the route by Iran or the cold.
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: I can't wrap my mind around.
- 1:25:27Speaker 11: That with you.
- 1:25:28Speaker 13: Sir.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Did we respond after that happened immediately?
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Not immediately, no. But we did respond, yes. Did we
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: take it as far as we should have? No, we didn't.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: All right. Well, I tell you what. No one's doing
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: what you want them to do.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: But what I'm, again, I'm going back to his U.N.
- 1:25:47Speaker 11: Speech today.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: You want to say it's all Israel?
- 1:25:50Speaker 28: No.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: That's right, it is.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: I like 90% of the stuff you say I agree with.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: I would like you to go watch that speech and
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: listen to those world leaders.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: I will go watch the speech, but I'm going to
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: tell you again, I do not agree with you. It
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: doesn't matter if you agree with me 98% of the time.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: That's America. I do not agree with you. I'm here
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: to tell you he has gone against what he stood for.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: He's created a mess, and he doesn't know how to
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: get out of it. And he's trying to figure out,
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: this is not going how he thought it would go.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: Israel talked him into, you get into this, and regime
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: change is ripe, and this is going to be like Venezuela.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: And none of this.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Well, how about Amman and Jordan and UAE that were
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: all for him all doing it?
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: And none of this is.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: You just want to name one country.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: And none of this just happens.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: I mean, honestly.
- 1:26:37Speaker 6: Okay. Okay.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: I don't know what to tell you. I don't agree
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: with it. I think it's a disaster. And I think
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: it's a difficult situation that is causing economic devastation to
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: this country, our country. And very easily could cost him
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: the midterms, which will mean for two years the American
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: agenda will not get accomplished. And all living in the
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: country will be just impeachment and nonsense that will have
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: an even horrible effect on this country. That's what I'm
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: telling you.
- 1:27:14Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: I want to get away from the wars, okay?
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: No, I'm not willing to get away from the wars.
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: I mean, the bottom line is this is dragging on.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: There is no end in sight. And they're saying, well,
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: maybe now we'll pause again, we'll build up some more munitions,
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: and we'll go back and we'll bomb them some more.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: I'll tell you again.
- 1:27:37Speaker 11: How many months has it went so far?
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: I'll tell you again. All Iran has to do is survive.
- 1:27:43Speaker 11: Period.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: That's all they got to do. They don't have to
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: do anything more than survive.
- 1:27:48Speaker 11: Ukraine's five years.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: That's right. Do you want it to go on five years?
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: Do you think the American public wants it? Do you
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: sense your country is in support of this?
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: So are you in support of Iran taking tolls on
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: the strait to increase energy?
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: I am against. No, there were no tolls on the
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: strait before the war happened. The strait was open.
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: Are you sure about that?
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure about it. I'm 100% sure.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: Oh, so Iran was never hitting ships and threatening?
- 1:28:15Speaker 11: When I say to you, you ask me a question.
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: When they were hitting ships before the war.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: You ask me a question.
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: Are you telling me Iran was not hitting ships?
- 1:28:23Speaker 11: What was the question?
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: What was the question you asked me?
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: The question I have, are you for tolls in the street?
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: Because that's what I ran once now. They want control
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: of it.
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: And what did I say to you in response to that?
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: What did I say? when you asked me that?
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: I don't think you completely answered.
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: No, I did. You just didn't hear it. There weren't
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: any tolls before the war broke out at all. The
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: strait was open, ships were going through, and there were
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: no tolls at all. Period. I'm telling you that when
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: this concludes, the strait will never be like it used
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: to be. Because guess what? Where is it located? And
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: who is in that region? Can they put tolls on
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: it now?
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: Does any country have a right to charge fees on
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: international water?
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: Apparently, Iran thinks they can on the straits. And guess what?
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: If they do, they do.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Well, that's energy, Ron.
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: But guess what? They weren't doing it before the war,
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: were they?
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: Yes, they were.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: No, they weren't charging tolls.
- 1:29:25Speaker 11: No, they weren't.
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: Off Karg Island, you're telling me the Iranians weren't terrorizing
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: international citizens.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: That isn't what you asked me. You asked me about tolls.
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: It's the same thing, Ron, but you just did it through.
- 1:29:38Speaker 11: A terrorist threat.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: I tell you what, this is a disaster, and I
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: don't know what more you want. Nothing's going well. You
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: want it to go on a couple more years? What
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: do you want to happen?
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: I told you what I did.
- 1:29:52Speaker 11: Did you hear me?
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: Guess what? They're not doing that, are they? So the
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: people in charge. The American people. No, not the American people.
- 1:30:00Speaker 11: The president.
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: Don't have the appetite for what we're taking.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: You're making excuses. We'll be back. I heart radio. Listen
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: to the.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: And talk station 570 WKBN.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: 455 in the afternoon. It's 59 degrees Tuesday, September 22nd.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Another overcast, wet day in my neck of the woods.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: We're here tonight till six o'clock. We shall see how
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: this goes, how this drags on. And all of these
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: things have a way to go. Whenever you start situations
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: like this, they can escalate. You hope that isn't the case.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: I mean, a situation in Ukraine can escalate as Zelensky
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: continues to do the actions that he's doing and doesn't
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: listen to Trump on taking out that energy stuff. All
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: of this stuff can escalate and become much bigger than
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: it is, just as it can in Iran. And it
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: too can get much larger and out of control in
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: the blink of an eye. But as I say, all
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: Iran has to do is survive. I'm not saying they
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: got it easy. They got it pretty bad there too.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: He should have just never got involved in this in
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: the first place. He was a guy that ran on
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: getting out of these wars, these endless wars in the
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: Middle East. And that was one of the reasons, one
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: of the things he ran on. And now he's right
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: back into one. Not just the expense involved, but how
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: it's dragging on with no end in sight. We shall see.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: Bonnie.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: You got it.
- 1:31:54Speaker 18: Hey, do you got life insurance?
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: Why, you want me to put you down as a beneficiary?
- 1:32:01Speaker 18: No, no, it's a serious question. Do you got life insurance?
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: You want me to put you as a beneficiary? That's
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: a serious question.
- 1:32:08Speaker 18: You could if you want.
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: I'll just put the unknown caller. I'll put you down
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: as the fourth runner-up.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Fourth?
- 1:32:17Speaker 6: Come on.
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: Okay, third. Let's see. Wait a second. Let's see. I
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: got J.J., the Trumpster. Okay, and then I got the
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: unknown caller. Okay, I got you. I put you down.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: You're down. All right. I hope you spend the money wisely.
- 1:32:31Speaker 18: Do you get life insurance, though?
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: Of course I do.
- 1:32:36Speaker 6: Why?
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: Well, guess what? If you got a wife, you got
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: a wife?
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: Yes, I do.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Okay. I just answered your question.
- 1:32:52Speaker 11: All right.
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: Stand by. Stand by.
- 1:32:54Speaker 8: All right.
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: All right. Back with him in a minute. News Radio
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: 570 WKBN and Ron Verb. We'll come back with more
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: right after this. Mike Rowe here with another random.

- 1:33:23Speaker 24: As president of the most extraordinary nation in history, I
- 1:33:27Speaker 24: have no interest in leaving dangers to grow for another day.
- 1:33:30Speaker 22: President Trump defending the conflict with Iran, saying while others talked,
- 1:33:34Speaker 22: he acted to prevent a terrorist regime from having a
- 1:33:37Speaker 22: nuclear weapon, adding the Iranians made a missile capable of
- 1:33:40Speaker 22: hitting Europe.
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: I hope the Europeans realize that.
- 1:33:44Speaker 24: Iran's goal was to complete their mad dash to a
- 1:33:48Speaker 24: nuclear bomb from behind this conventional ballistic missile shield.
- 1:33:53Speaker 23: The president telling the U.N.
- 1:33:54Speaker 22: General Assembly he has a decision to make on Iran,
- 1:33:57Speaker 22: a possible deal or annihilation. Trump envoys later holding a
- 1:34:02Speaker 22: lengthy meeting with Iranian officials. Iran state media says strict
- 1:34:06Speaker 22: conditions were conveyed to U.S.
- 1:34:07Speaker 23: Representatives.
- 1:34:09Speaker 22: The president also holding meetings with several other world leaders,
- 1:34:13Speaker 22: including Ukraine's president, who says an energy site ceasefire could
- 1:34:17Speaker 22: be a first step toward ending the war with Russia.
- 1:34:20Speaker 22: The president calling artificial intelligence super intelligence. And though acknowledging
- 1:34:25Speaker 22: every new technology has challenges, he says the U.S. will
- 1:34:28Speaker 22: not slow down despite tech leaders calling for slowing the
- 1:34:31Speaker 22: pace of development.
- 1:34:32Speaker 23: For safety reasons.
- 1:34:33Speaker 19: There is no such debate like that here in China.
- 1:34:37Speaker 19: In China, AI is coming from the top down. It
- 1:34:40Speaker 19: is President Xi going, let's go full speed ahead. The
- 1:34:43Speaker 19: money for data centers coming from the government. They're going
- 1:34:47Speaker 19: to put $ 300 billion into it over the next five years.
- 1:34:50Speaker 22: Fox's Steve Harrigan in Beijing. The Chinese president heads to

- 1:34:56Speaker 22: Back at the U.N., President Trump also signing a deal

- 1:36:23Speaker 2: Back to it, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. And Ron Verb, let's see. Okay,
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: do you have life insurance?
- 1:36:33Speaker 18: Do you was the question.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: Do you? I want to know.
- 1:36:38Speaker 18: Well, I asked you first.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Yeah, okay.
- 1:36:42Speaker 18: I'm trying to keep order here, Ron.
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: Okay, I understand. I didn't know if we were starting
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: to date or something. You were going to ask me
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: what my favorite color was next or something.
- 1:36:53Speaker 18: Don't get me started on the colors, Ron.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: I mean, you know, if you were going to ask
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: me if I liked country music or rock and roll. Yeah.
- 1:37:01Speaker 18: So I assume, I'm assuming that you have life insurance.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: And I answered you again. Do you have a wife?
- 1:37:11Speaker 14: I do have a wife.
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: Okay. Well, there you go.
- 1:37:13Speaker 8: So you want to.
- 1:37:14Speaker 18: Make sure she's protected because why?
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: Well, you got an option. You can either get it
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: or you don't have to get it. It's all up
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: to you. It's not a requirement. It's not a must
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: or anything along those lines. It doesn't matter to me
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: whether you get it or not. I don't know how
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: to answer your question other than say I could care
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: less if you get life insurance or not. It really
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: doesn't affect me one way or the other. It's for
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: your own thoughts if you want to send– it depends
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: what type you get. Usually term insurance is– not as
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: expensive as a whole life policy. And usually if you work,
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: if you do through your employer, a lot of it's
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: provided through your employer, you can add to it. So,
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: I mean, that's a very individual decision to each person
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: on whether they want it or not. You know, some
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: people get it because they want to make sure their
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: funeral expenses are covered. Some people get it because they
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: have a mortgage on their house. Some people get it
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: because they want to make sure their family and kids
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: have something or whatever, whatever. money to enjoy life if
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: they pass on. There's a million reasons why people what
- 1:38:25Speaker 2: they do. It's all a part of financial planning, whether
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: or not, you know, if you have a savings account
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: or you have a 401k or you have life insurance,
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: those are very personal decisions each individual has to make
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: on what's best for their situation.
- 1:38:40Speaker 18: So I assume that you have it just in case.
- 1:38:44Speaker 18: I mean, what if you died first, right?
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: Well, Since my wife's younger than me, it's a pretty
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: good bet I will.
- 1:38:52Speaker 18: Okay, so that's a what if. So I'm trying to
- 1:38:56Speaker 18: make a point here.
- 1:38:57Speaker 11: Are you paranoid?
- 1:38:58Speaker 18: Are you paranoid that something's going to happen to you?
- 1:39:02Speaker 11: No, I'm not.
- 1:39:06Speaker 14: Okay.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: I mean, that's all part of financial planning. I mean,
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: we all know this much. I don't want to break
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: this to you, but you are going to die. It's inevitable.
- 1:39:16Speaker 18: Ain't nobody leaving this world.
- 1:39:18Speaker 14: Right.
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: I mean, even the unknown caller at some point will
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: pass away. I mean, that's just the way it is. But,
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: you know, it's like saying, well, do you have a 401k? Well,
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: you're planning, you know, you're thinking that you can retire. Well,
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: you could die before retirement. You know, it's all called
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: financial planning. Hopefully you'll live, but you never know. You
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: never know. When your maker calls you home, your maker
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: calls you home. And you never know when your maker
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: will call you home.
- 1:39:50Speaker 18: Ronnie, you're talking what-ifs, what-ifs. And I'm trying to make
- 1:39:54Speaker 18: a point.
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: I'm not talking what-ifs. You're going to die. Make no mistake,
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: this isn't a what-if. You will pass away at some point.
- 1:40:01Speaker 18: I already got the date planned out.
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: I want you to realize that's not.
- 1:40:06Speaker 11: I got a lot of money.
- 1:40:07Speaker 18: I'm buying DNA.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: That's not a what if. You know what I mean?
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: That's just part of the circle of life, my friends.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: The circle of life.
- 1:40:18Speaker 18: But no, what I'm trying to make the point is.
- 1:40:22Speaker 18: You talked about the fiery show last night with G2.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: No, the explosive. Let's get it right. The explosive.
- 1:40:32Speaker 8: Explosive, yes.
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: And, you know, I've already got emails from people saying,
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: were you pulling a rating stunt and all this kind
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: of stuff?
- 1:40:41Speaker 8: Come on.
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: That was a fiery explosive exchange. Yeah, I thought you
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: just came.
- 1:40:44Speaker 11: Back from Chipotle.
- 1:40:52Speaker 18: This is Chipotle's lawyer. We don't need any more free
- 1:40:59Speaker 18: advertising on this station.
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: But, no, Ron.
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: It's just like when I have my fiery exchanges with J.J.
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: the Trumpster. Yeah, J.J. the Trumpster.
- 1:41:11Speaker 18: Hey, no, honestly, that conversation with G2 last night, I
- 1:41:16Speaker 18: thought it, and are you sitting.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: Down, Ron?
- 1:41:19Speaker 18: I thought it was bad radio. You did not have
- 1:41:23Speaker 18: a debate. You did not have a discussion. You just
- 1:41:26Speaker 18: talked over G2. You didn't want to hear the other
- 1:41:30Speaker 18: side of the story. And I was like, I was
- 1:41:35Speaker 18: very disappointed. You should have like one minute, you know,
- 1:41:39Speaker 18: for you to talk and then another minute for him
- 1:41:42Speaker 18: to talk. I was very, very disappointed, and that's the
- 1:41:47Speaker 18: point of my call.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: Well, I'll try not to disappoint. I'll say to you
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: what I've said to my wife. I'll try not to
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: disappoint you in the future.
- 1:41:56Speaker 18: Well, and your wife has been very disappointed.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: I have– nope, that's the way it goes. You know,
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: he keeps going this or this and this. He didn't
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: stay focused on it, so there was no point in
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: carrying on with it. I mean, the bottom line is
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: you can believe it to be against this part of this,
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: the Fourth Amendment or whatever you want to say, but
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: the court hasn't ruled on that. They're not illegal. You
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: don't have a right to privacy out in the public
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: on this kind of stuff, and you can't jump all around.
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: You've got to stay– stay focused on the point that
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: you're trying to, to, um, pursue. Let me put it
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: that way.
- 1:42:38Speaker 18: Ron, my disappointment was you didn't let him speak.
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: I let him speak.
- 1:42:44Speaker 18: I thought I was listening to CNN or the viewer.
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you something. One thing you'll find
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: for me that you'll find with me is I never
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: second guess myself. So, uh, I don't know how to
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: tell you that. I've never done it in my life,
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: and I'm not about to start now.
- 1:43:02Speaker 18: Well, the woman that called after G2, and you asked
- 1:43:07Speaker 18: her a question. You said, you were talking about the
- 1:43:11Speaker 18: license plate on her car. You said, can you drive
- 1:43:14Speaker 18: anywhere and go anywhere you want right now? And she said, yeah,
- 1:43:19Speaker 18: but one, just think, five, six years ago during COVID,
- 1:43:22Speaker 18: you couldn't do that. You don't think it could happen now.
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: Listen, we can do the what-ifs, but that's why you
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: have guardrails on things.
- 1:43:32Speaker 18: That's why you buy life insurance, Ron. That's why you
- 1:43:34Speaker 18: buy life insurance.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: And guess what? You can choose not to. But you
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: can play the what-if game, and it's a waste of
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: time with the what-if games. As I said yesterday, as
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: I will say to you. They don't care what you're doing.
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: I mean, flock cameras have been in Canfield, Boardman, and Youngstown,
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: and they're not a big deal. And six of them
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: are coming to Austown, and people want to make it
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: a big damn deal. It's not a big damn deal.
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: It is genuinely taking your license plate. You drive on
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: a public roadway. The license plate is issued to you
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: by the state. It is perfectly legal for a cop
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: to use the lead's computer and run your license plate
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: sitting behind you at a red light. That is not
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: against the law. It is not against the law to
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: have a flock camera take a picture of your license
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: plate to see if you're suspended or if you're a
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: fleeing felon from you murdered somebody or you abducted some kid.
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: This is a benefit to law enforcement. It is not
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: an invasion of your privacy. You can get to this
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: ridiculous stuff on it. Well, what if this happens? What
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: if that happens? Well, my answer to you is I
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: guess you better deal with it if and when that happens.
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: But since that isn't happening, you better embrace the tools
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: that make your police department more efficient and your community
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: a safer place to be. You shouldn't deny your police
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: department the technology and the tools to achieve that. That's
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: why you have a computer in a police car. Do
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: you want to rip that out? Do you want to say,
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: you know, that's why they don't have to call it
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: in when they stop you. They can enter your plate
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: in it. They can enter your plate sitting in a
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: traffic light. So was it that invasion of privacy? No,
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: it's not. It's perfectly legal. Just as a flock camera
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: is perfectly legal. So have we had.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 1:45:19Speaker 18: Do you agree that your phone tracks you everywhere? There's
- 1:45:24Speaker 18: cameras in store.
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: I think that when you're out in public, you don't
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: have any privacy at all, and I think your phone
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: does track you everywhere. I don't think you have any
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: privacy at all, and you should just come to accept that.
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: If you want to use your phone, you read the
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: terms and conditions, and that's just the way it is.
- 1:45:42Speaker 18: Ron, my question to you is how did we get here?
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: Technology.
- 1:45:47Speaker 11: How did we get here?
- 1:45:48Speaker 8: We're trapped.
- 1:45:49Speaker 18: Technology or or nobody said anything and and i mean
- 1:45:55Speaker 18: we're here now how do we get here because nobody
- 1:45:59Speaker 18: said anything nobody worried about it in i think it
- 1:46:02Speaker 18: was 1861 the first federal tax was started i think
- 1:46:08Speaker 18: for the civil war and now we got taxes coming
- 1:46:12Speaker 18: out of our you know what but What I'm trying
- 1:46:17Speaker 18: to say here is it starts small, and then all
- 1:46:22Speaker 18: of a sudden it's everywhere.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: That can be the case, but you can hypothetical things
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: out of it all. It starts small. Should we allow
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: cops to have guns? Should we allow cops to have tasers?
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: Should we allow them to have computers, any technology in
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: their car, to do their job more efficiently? To make
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: a community safer. Apparently only the police should be denied
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: technology to do something like that.
- 1:46:49Speaker 24: Why?
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: Because sometimes you have a few bad apples. Well, the
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: majority of them aren't bad apples. You go to an
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: airport and you've got to go through that process to
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: get on an airplane to make air travel a lot safer.
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: That's just the reality. That's just the way it is because.
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: You want to we don't want the planes hijacked. We
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: don't want to go through that again. So, no, I don't.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: You know, my problem with the G2' s argument was it
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: was scatter. It's all over here. It was all emotional. Well,
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: what if this happens? What if that happens? No, let's
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: let's deal with deal with the facts. You can believe
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: it to be against that. But the court hasn't ruled that.
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: That is the fact. So they're not against the law.
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: It isn't against that happening there. Any cops that are
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: using them, leads computer wrong, are held accountable for it.
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: You can run a plate. You have no right to privacy.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: It's a plate reader. I mean, I don't know where
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: you want to go with that. You can speculate on everything.
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: If it reaches that point, then I think you have
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: to deal with it at that point. It's like saying
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: all vaccinations are bad. They're not all bad. I mean,
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: you know, because of vaccinations, I didn't have to grow
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: up worrying about polio. Or mumps and this kind of
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: stuff that we see reemerging because you got people coming
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: into your country that aren't vaccinated. Are some vaccinations bad? Yes.
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: Are some of them good and should be required? Absolutely.
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: They've been life-changing in our society. You know, my parents
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: grew up at a time when polio was a very
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: real thing. I never had to worry about that growing
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: up because of vaccinations or MMR. Can we go to
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: extreme and have too many?
- 1:48:32Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: Should that be looked at? Absolutely. Are flock cameras doing
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: a good thing?
- 1:48:37Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: Can they go to extreme? I suppose they could, but
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: are they? No. The answer is no. I deal with
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: what's happening right now.
- 1:48:46Speaker 18: One of your earlier callers had agreed that he's okay
- 1:48:50Speaker 18: with the flock cameras and everything and the speed cameras,
- 1:48:54Speaker 18: but he also said, I avoid them when I can.
- 1:48:58Speaker 18: Why does he avoid them? Because it's an intrusion on your.
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: It's not an intrusion. You know, even as much as
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: I say, you know, I go back to this. So
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: they have the traffic cameras. Now they can send you
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: a ticket. It's all legal. It's not illegal to do.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: And you can choose not to pay it because you
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: don't have to, obviously. But the reality is it does
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: slow people down in school zones. It does slow people
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: down in those areas. So, and what is the argument?
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: If you want to avoid getting a camera ticket, then
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: don't speed. Don't be going 40 through a school zone.
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: Don't be going 85 on the freeway. I think they
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: give you a 10-mile window or an 8-mile window on
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: them one way or the other. So there's a counterargument
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: to everything. All I'm saying to you is flock cameras
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: are just there for the criminal element. You have nothing
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: to worry about. If you live in Youngstown or wherever
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: you live, you've been on them for a period of time.
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: You see them if you go to the Meijer parking
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: lot in Austintown, you'll see them. They got them posted there.
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: Private stores have them because they want to know who's
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: coming and going if you rob the store. So this
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: is just the way technology is. And I don't know
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: what you're worried about. Flock cameras are not being abused.
- 1:50:21Speaker 18: One of my points is, you know, how did we
- 1:50:23Speaker 18: get here already that they're already tracking us?
- 1:50:26Speaker 11: Because we were.
- 1:50:27Speaker 18: We didn't complain or anything. I agree that the flock
- 1:50:31Speaker 18: cameras can do good, but I think there's also evil.
- 1:50:35Speaker 18: But I do want to say, speaking of.
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. You're saying there could be evil. Well,
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: there isn't. That's the reality. And anybody that abuses them
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: should be held accountable, like on a Leeds computer. I mean,
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: I don't know what to tell you. That's just how
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: it works. Do you want the cop to know when
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: he pulls you over and he enters your plate in
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: and he sees that there's a warrant, don't you think
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: that's a pretty good thing to have so that the
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: cop is safer getting out of the car or can
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: call for backup? Are you opposed to that?
- 1:51:07Speaker 18: Well, I paid some guy to wash all my.
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: Warrants, Ronnie. Okay. I mean, I'm not screwing with you. Honestly.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: Are you opposed to the cops saying this guy just
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: robbed a bank or killed somebody and now we know
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: where the car's going? I mean, use your brain on
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: this stuff.
- 1:51:24Speaker 14: You're using the what ifs.
- 1:51:26Speaker 18: You're using the what ifs.
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: I'm not using the what ifs. You're using the what ifs.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: All right. I got to go. You're on the air.
- 1:51:36Speaker 14: Hey, Ron.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: Emmanuel.
- 1:51:39Speaker 14: I've been listening to you for a long time, decades, right?
- 1:51:43Speaker 14: And before I tell you what I want to tell you, right?
- 1:51:45Speaker 14: This is the first time out of all those shows,
- 1:51:49Speaker 14: those thousands of shows, that I feel you need a call.
- 1:51:53Speaker 8: Streamer, man.
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: No, I don't. Let me tell you something. I take
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: them as they come in. This is real. This is
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: real life.
- 1:52:10Speaker 14: I wanted to call you and tell you about you
- 1:52:13Speaker 14: being a hypocrite and not telling the truth. But I'm
- 1:52:16Speaker 14: listening to somebody. Listen, I watched President Trump's speech.
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: I did not watch it yet, but I will watch it.
- 1:52:25Speaker 14: And he said in his speech that the Iranians are
- 1:52:29Speaker 14: thinking they can hurt me for the next election. He says, listen.
- 1:52:35Speaker 14: They don't know. I'm not running again.
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:52:38Speaker 14: I already won, and I won by a landslide, and
- 1:52:42Speaker 14: I'm going to be here for two and a half
- 1:52:43Speaker 14: more years.
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:52:46Speaker 14: Then he said.
- 1:52:47Speaker 28: That when it comes to keeping Iran from having a
- 1:52:53Speaker 28: nuclear weapon, the midterms in Congress, he don't even.
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: Think about them.
- 1:53:02Speaker 14: He don't care about the midterms. And he don't know
- 1:53:06Speaker 14: why Iran is trying to do this because, like I said,
- 1:53:08Speaker 14: he said he's going to be here for two and
- 1:53:10Speaker 14: a half more years.
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: Well, I'll answer that question for him. Hang on a second.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: I'll come back to him. I can answer that question.
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: And maybe Emmanuel can, too. Back after this, NewsRadio 570,
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: Dodie Cooley and Ron Verdon, Kingdom of Mahoney.
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: It's time to take your talk station, 570 WKBN. All right.
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: So you were talking about Trump's speech and the U.N., Right?
- 1:53:38Speaker 14: Trump's speech at the U.N., and he was talking about
- 1:53:41Speaker 14: the midterms. But let me say this real quick, Ronald.
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53:44Speaker 14: Now, two callers ago was talking about what he should do. Well,
- 1:53:48Speaker 14: there's this thing, two things that evidently MAGA don't realize.
- 1:53:52Speaker 14: There's this thing called the Geneva Convention and war crimes.
- 1:53:57Speaker 14: If you start bombing civilian places, that's at least the
- 1:54:01Speaker 14: Geneva Convention.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Now, go ahead. Well, first of all, he better be
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: concerned about the midterms. I agree with him when he says, well,
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: Iran is waiting to see what happens in the midterms
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: because they feel that he'll still be president. But they
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: think if he loses one of the two houses, things
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: change dramatically as far as– his abilities to continue to
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: pursue this. I mean, I think that's what they're thinking
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: is from the Iran standpoint. And when Trump says, see,
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: it's hypocritical. And he says he don't care about the midterms.
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: I'm going by what you said. He cares about him
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: because he's out campaigning for all these people.
- 1:54:40Speaker 14: He says he helps out. But when it comes to
- 1:54:43Speaker 14: Iran and nuclear weapons, they ain't got nothing coming.
- 1:54:46Speaker 11: Go ahead.
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: OK, but I mean, he cares about the midterms. He
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: would like to see the Republicans continue to have control.
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: And I would as well, because otherwise the next two
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: years are just going to be impeachment and everything gets stalled.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: So the midterms are important. But we shall see what–
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: I mean, I didn't watch his speech today, but I mean,
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: some of the stuff he says anymore, it just– Sometimes
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: I just.
- 1:55:13Speaker 14: Shake my head. I have a website where I can
- 1:55:16Speaker 14: follow his troop social. Now, your second caller.
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: So what did you think of what he had to say?
- 1:55:23Speaker 14: You want to know the truth?
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:55:25Speaker 14: I think he's dangerous and I think he's crazy. You've
- 1:55:28Speaker 14: got to listen to that man.
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: No, no, no, no.
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: Don't hold back on me. I want you to tell
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: it like it is.
- 1:55:36Speaker 14: Some of that stuff was good, like the caller said.
- 1:55:40Speaker 14: Some of that stuff was good. But some of that
- 1:55:43Speaker 14: stuff was that, you know what, crazy.
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: So you think he's dangerous and crazy. All right.
- 1:55:49Speaker 14: Now, your last caller, right? I kind of agree with him. But, man,
- 1:55:55Speaker 14: he went way around town just to get to the restaurant.
- 1:56:01Speaker 14: And it also goes back to what you just said
- 1:56:03Speaker 14: about Trump. And, you know, as far as if the
- 1:56:05Speaker 14: Democrats get in there, they're going to do this, they're
- 1:56:08Speaker 14: going to do that. And then you, I remember, you've
- 1:56:11Speaker 14: done shows about this, Ron.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: Well, wait a minute. The Democrats have made it clear
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: what they say they're going to do if they take
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: power back. But here's a, but I'll make an argument.
- 1:56:21Speaker 8: Hang on one second here.
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: But I don't disagree that this entire situation, I'm getting
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: a little bit tired of these endless wars that go
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: on without any input from Congress or debate in the country.
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: I mean, I think there's something terribly wrong anymore when
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: we get engaged in this and these things go on
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: costing us tons of money. And there isn't any, the
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: country isn't brought into it. The Congress isn't brought into it.
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: I mean, this trend that I've watched over a large
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: part of my life, I think is disturbing to me.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: We don't even call them wars, but police actions, whatever
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: they do.
- 1:57:03Speaker 14: We call it a war today at the UN.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and it is a war. But I mean, don't
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: you think there should be some debate in Congress? I'd
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: like to know where all these people in Congress stand,
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: Republicans and Democrats.
- 1:57:17Speaker 14: The Republicans had to leave because Donald Trump was going
- 1:57:19Speaker 14: to sell F-35 to the doggone Saudi Arabians.
- 1:57:24Speaker 8: And he made a deal, right? And I guess he
- 1:57:26Speaker 8: was going to get a kickback.
- 1:57:27Speaker 14: But then he found out that he can't sell those
- 1:57:31Speaker 14: planes to Saudi Arabia without Congress's approval. And Congress left town.
- 1:57:36Speaker 14: So he didn't get his kickback tonight. But listen to
- 1:57:38Speaker 14: what I'm talking about while you're being a hypocrite.
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:57:41Speaker 11: Okay?
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:57:43Speaker 14: Now, I'm listening to you talking about, what about this
- 1:57:45Speaker 14: and what about that? And you guys, and for years,
- 1:57:48Speaker 14: I called you up, Ron, and.
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: I argued with you.
- 1:57:50Speaker 14: I argued with you, almost to the point in tears,
- 1:57:53Speaker 14: because I had kids in school, right?
- 1:57:56Speaker 8: In little elementary school.
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: You mean I brought you to tears, almost tears I
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: brought you to.
- 1:58:01Speaker 14: Yeah, and I told you, man, Ron, you've got to
- 1:58:04Speaker 14: get rid of the assault weapons and the 30-round clips.
- 1:58:07Speaker 14: We can't do that, because guess what?
- 1:58:09Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: You got a second amendment you got a second amendment.
- 1:58:15Speaker 14: That's what you said now we get to the flop
- 1:58:20Speaker 14: cameras right yeah now the flop cameras no way It's
- 1:58:25Speaker 14: a slippery slope. This is where you're not telling the
- 1:58:28Speaker 14: truth at.
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: Well, hang on a second.
- 1:58:30Speaker 11: Hang on.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: You've got to tell me where I'm not telling the
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: truth at. Back in a minute. More calls. We're here
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: until 6. Guardians at 6. NewsRadio 570. NewsRadio 570. WKVS.
- 1:58:42Speaker 5: There might be relief ahead for Ohioans at the gas pumps.
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives is calling a
- 1:58:49Speaker 5: special session of the legislature for next week. They're going
- 1:58:52Speaker 5: to deal only with suspension of Ohio's gas tax.
- 1:58:56Speaker 27: We'll be able to knock 38.5 cents off regular and
- 1:58:59Speaker 27: 48.5 cents off diesel if we can pass this. I'm
- 1:59:03Speaker 27: going to call the House back in session next Wednesday.
- 1:59:05Speaker 27: In working with Senate President McCauley, I believe he intends
- 1:59:08Speaker 27: to do that either Wednesday or Thursday.
- 1:59:10Speaker 5: House Speaker Matt Huffman expects bipartisan support. In Cincinnati, police
- 1:59:15Speaker 5: are no longer going to block any streets near the
- 1:59:17Speaker 5: University of Cincinnati. No more closings of Calhoun and McMillan
- 1:59:22Speaker 5: like in recent weekends. The police chief saying at City
- 1:59:25Speaker 5: Hall today that much of the trouble they saw to
- 1:59:27Speaker 5: start the school year stemmed from pop-up parties, and the
- 1:59:30Speaker 5: person who allegedly promoted them has been arrested.
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: I'm Matt.
- 1:59:34Speaker 16: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:59:37Speaker 16: and sports radio.
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: Podcasts, too. Download the app. Free never sounded so good.
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: A to Z dependable. Ron Verb. On NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: All right, Heidi. Oh, we are at, what, 58 degrees?
- 2:00:00Speaker 2: Getting chilly out there, isn't it? All right. Go ahead, Emmanuel.
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: You're concerned.
- 2:00:07Speaker 14: Okay, my concern is this. The flock cameras. It is
- 2:00:12Speaker 14: not about the police officers. I think it's a great tool,
- 2:00:19Speaker 14: but the problem is here wrong. If you look at
- 2:00:22Speaker 14: the contract, the contract says, that the people who supply
- 2:00:28Speaker 14: the cameras can keep all the information they gathered, right?
- 2:00:34Speaker 14: They don't have to give it to anybody. They can
- 2:00:37Speaker 14: keep it private.
- 2:00:38Speaker 15: Right, Ron?
- 2:00:39Speaker 14: What's to stop them from selling my information to somebody else?
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: First of all, I don't think that's accurate. I think
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: that they put a time frame on doing away with
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: the information. There's a time frame on it that I
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: was reading.
- 2:00:54Speaker 14: The police or the people who supply the cameras?
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: Well, I'm talking about my local police department.
- 2:01:02Speaker 14: You know, that's money to me. Information is money, Ron.
- 2:01:05Speaker 14: They can take that information and they can sell it.
- 2:01:08Speaker 2: All right. I doubt... Or.
- 2:01:10Speaker 14: The government can come in and say, listen, I'm looking
- 2:01:12Speaker 14: for this person. Give me the information.
- 2:01:14Speaker 6: It has nothing to do with the police.
- 2:01:16Speaker 14: But the people who put... Check it out. The people
- 2:01:19Speaker 14: who put the cameras there got our information. And I'm
- 2:01:22Speaker 14: not happy about that.
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: Have a good day, Ron. All right. Well, guess what?
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: Then you want to tie the arms of your police departments.
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: I mean, it is a tool. It is a modern
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: tool and it is modern technology. I'll say it again
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: for the millionth time. And I think most people just
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: don't understand what officers have to do. And it is
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: about the officers and it's about community safety. They have
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: every legal right to run your license plates. You're on
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: a public highway. You're not entitled to privacy. That's why
- 2:01:50Speaker 2: you have a license plate on your car. And they
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: can run it when they're sitting behind you at a stoplight.
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: They don't need a cause to do it. They can
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: punch you right into the LEEDS computer in their vehicle.
- 2:02:00Speaker 2: Perfectly legal, not against the law. They can do it
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: if they pull you over so that they can see
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: if there's a warrant. If you're suspended, that's a LEEDS computer.
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: It's in the car. They can do it if they're
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: at a stoplight. There's nothing against that. It's modern technology.
- 2:02:19Speaker 2: It's why there's a computer in a police car. So
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: this idea that somehow that's against the law or the
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: argument that it's an invasion of your privacy is ridiculous.
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: It's been going on with the least computer for the
- 2:02:33Speaker 2: longest period of time. And to make that argument is
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: a ridiculous argument and an emotional argument. So to a large,
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: that's what happens with these elites computer. And if you
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: abuse elites computer, as you can have bad people in
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: any profession, there's ramifications for it. It doesn't mean you
- 2:02:50Speaker 2: get rid of the technology. Doesn't mean because if you
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: get a bad shooting by a police officer that we
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: tell all cops, you got to give up your guns.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: I mean, it's the same. It's the same lunacy as
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: far as mentality that some people want to want to
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: put out there. I guess everybody should have the technology
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: except the police departments to do their job. And the
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: same thing is a flock camera is a license plate reader.
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: And that's what it's reading on. You're on a public highway.
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: You have a license plate that you have to get
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: to drive your car. And if somebody abducted your kid,
- 2:03:24Speaker 2: you'll be damn glad that they have it. Like the
- 2:03:26Speaker 2: guy called me from Struthers who said that's how they
- 2:03:28Speaker 2: found that person stealing the packages from his front porch.
- 2:03:35Speaker 2: I don't know how to tell people that you're not
- 2:03:37Speaker 2: that interesting. They're not that interested in you going to
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: Home Depot or any of that stuff. It's just hypothetical nonsense.
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: And I do mean it's hypothetical. You can become so paranoid,
- 2:03:52Speaker 2: I don't know that you can face your shadow. It
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: gets to the point of being somewhat ridiculous. And as
- 2:04:01Speaker 2: a flex cameras for the millionth time have been in Boardman, Canfield, Youngstown,
- 2:04:06Speaker 2: just because we're getting six of them in Austintown, we're
- 2:04:08Speaker 2: late to the party. They've been in Niles. It's not
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: that big of a deal. I support them 100% on
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: the major intersections coming into the community for people that
- 2:04:19Speaker 2: are coming with warrants or murder or whatever the case
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: might be. It's modern technology. All the people that want
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: to speculate, I think it's ridiculous speculation. It's ridiculous. If
- 2:04:32Speaker 2: you go by them, then we better start ripping the
- 2:04:33Speaker 2: computers out of police cars. Better start ripping the cameras down.
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: And it's craziness. We're just tying the hands, denying technology
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: to the police that are there serving your community, making
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: it a safer place. And it is a dangerous world anymore.
- 2:04:54Speaker 2: So there you have it. You don't have, I don't know,
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: do you have a right to privacy when you're on
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: a public highway? No, you really don't. But I think
- 2:05:07Speaker 2: people think that they're more– they've got time to deal
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: with where everybody's going. It's ridiculous. You're on the air.
- 2:05:14Speaker 8: Ron, I don't know how you can say this.
- 2:05:16Speaker 10: I mean, these flock cameras alone, it's a surveillance state.
- 2:05:21Speaker 10: It is across the board between the phones, between these cameras,
- 2:05:25Speaker 10: everywhere you travel. They're catching people traveling over the border
- 2:05:28Speaker 10: to Michigan and Ohio.
- 2:05:29Speaker 11: They're buying marijuana, bringing it back in here.
- 2:05:33Speaker 10: They are keeping the data.
- 2:05:34Speaker 11: That is true.
- 2:05:35Speaker 3: They are not keeping it after 30 days.
- 2:05:37Speaker 10: They're supposed to.
- 2:05:37Speaker 2: Get rid of it. They're not.
- 2:05:39Speaker 4: They're keeping it.
- 2:05:40Speaker 10: Listen, you really want to get change happening?
- 2:05:43Speaker 3: You have to kill these people.
- 2:05:45Speaker 10: There is no other way about any of this than
- 2:05:50Speaker 10: these people need to see that the debate only works
- 2:05:53Speaker 10: so much. And how has it gotten us so far?
- 2:05:57Speaker 10: There's nowhere we're going. We're getting more in debt as
- 2:06:00Speaker 10: a country. We're getting more surveilled.
- 2:06:04Speaker 14: Nothing is changing.
- 2:06:05Speaker 10: It's all the same. So if you really want change,
- 2:06:08Speaker 10: that's how you do it.
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: So your answer is killing people.
- 2:06:14Speaker 10: Oh, I think the politicians that are in charge of
- 2:06:16Speaker 10: these rules and making the money off of everything are
- 2:06:19Speaker 10: the problem.
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: You know what I think the problem is? I think
- 2:06:23Speaker 2: you're the problem. Because obviously you think that's the answer
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: to something.
- 2:06:29Speaker 11: How has your debate been going?
- 2:06:31Speaker 8: How has the debate been for you?
- 2:06:32Speaker 10: Have you caused any change?
- 2:06:33Speaker 11: We've gotten more in debt. You know what?
- 2:06:35Speaker 2: It's going pretty good.
- 2:06:36Speaker 3: We've gotten more in debt.
- 2:06:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm totally against what you stand for. And I
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: think people like you are a threat in society and
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: probably should have your head examined. You're on the air.
- 2:06:47Speaker 6: Hey, Ron. Hey, I heard the speech, Don, from the U.N.
- 2:06:52Speaker 2: And what did you think of it? I didn't hear it.
- 2:06:54Speaker 6: Oh, phenomenal. I loved it.
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: Well, I got to listen to it tonight. I confess
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: I didn't hear it, and I want to hear it.
- 2:07:01Speaker 6: He choked me out when I ran. He told him.
- 2:07:04Speaker 6: He said, look, he said, you want to do this
- 2:07:06Speaker 6: all the way up to the midterms? He said, after
- 2:07:09Speaker 6: the midterm, that's it. Either you come to an agreement
- 2:07:12Speaker 6: or I wipe you out. So that's it.
- 2:07:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but he said that before. He said, I'm going
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: to bomb him back to the Stone Age. I mean,
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: it's rhetoric that we've heard before. I mean, it's so.
- 2:07:26Speaker 6: Ron, listen, he's trying to make an agreement so he
- 2:07:29Speaker 6: doesn't have to do anything.
- 2:07:31Speaker 3: To kill anybody.
- 2:07:32Speaker 6: You understand? But the problem is that with these people
- 2:07:36Speaker 6: over there, they will not honor an agreement.
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: They made it clear they're not interested in an agreement.
- 2:07:42Speaker 3: Right, exactly.
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: I mean, their attitude is, we're a country of 93
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: million people. Who are you to tell us that we
- 2:07:48Speaker 2: can't have a nuclear weapon? Who are you to tell
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: us any of this stuff? Why is it okay for
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: Israel to have one? Why is it okay for North Korea?
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: Why is it okay for the, look at what happened
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: to Saddam? I mean, that's their counter-argument to it. I
- 2:08:04Speaker 2: don't think they have one. I think the bunker buster
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: was effective.
- 2:08:08Speaker 6: Well, here's the thing. They have a history of funding terrorists. Now,
- 2:08:14Speaker 6: if they gave nuclear weapons to these nuts, they'd throw
- 2:08:18Speaker 6: them all over the place.
- 2:08:22Speaker 5: Right?
- 2:08:24Speaker 2: Okay. Terrorism is a reality from numerous terror groups.
- 2:08:33Speaker 6: Right, but they fund them.
- 2:08:35Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure that there's plenty of people. What did
- 2:08:38Speaker 2: they say? Who funded the people from Saudi Arabia that
- 2:08:41Speaker 2: did 9-11? Right.
- 2:08:44Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: I don't think it was Iran.
- 2:08:49Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 2:08:49Speaker 4: That's a good point.
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: Well, listen, the Middle East is a mess and we
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: have not been very successful with regime changes in the
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: Middle East. And I think we've lost a lot of
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: human life and a lot of soldiers have died and
- 2:09:06Speaker 2: a lot have been injured for what? It's easy. I mean,
- 2:09:10Speaker 2: that's an easy thing to say when it's not your
- 2:09:12Speaker 2: kid or your kid's not involved. Some people have the
- 2:09:14Speaker 2: attitude of like, oh, it's a volunteer army. Like that's
- 2:09:17Speaker 2: somebody's sons and daughters. And they shouldn't die without a
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: noble purpose in store. Well, in Afghanistan, what was the point?
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: I mean, you take I've been around long enough. What
- 2:09:28Speaker 2: was the point in Vietnam? I mean, when the dust settled,
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: what did all those people die for? Because basically we
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: gave it back. What did they die for in Afghanistan?
- 2:09:39Speaker 2: We gave it back to the terrorists in better shape.
- 2:09:41Speaker 2: I mean, hell, we're doing business with Vietnam now. Things
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: change in the blink of an eye very rapidly anymore.
- 2:09:48Speaker 2: And as a parent, when you sit there saying, well,
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: what did my son or daughter die for? What was
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: the point of this?
- 2:09:53Speaker 6: You're right. Listen, I didn't agree with Vietnam either. You know,
- 2:09:59Speaker 6: I was a young kid. My dad told me what
- 2:10:01Speaker 6: was going on, you know?
- 2:10:02Speaker 11: Sure.
- 2:10:03Speaker 6: I agree with, you know, my thing after 9-11 came,
- 2:10:08Speaker 6: I told him I, you know, I would be on
- 2:10:10Speaker 6: the radio, KBN, and I said, you can't negotiate with
- 2:10:14Speaker 6: these people. The only way to deal with them is
- 2:10:16Speaker 6: turn the sand in the glass. What does that run?
- 2:10:21Speaker 6: What turns sand in the glass?
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: Well, you're talking about a nuclear weapon.
- 2:10:26Speaker 6: That's right.
- 2:10:27Speaker 2: And I would be totally opposed to that.
- 2:10:29Speaker 6: Well, that's the only way to deal with them.
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: Okay, so you want to drop a nuclear weapon. How
- 2:10:33Speaker 2: many people do you want to kill over there, all
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: 93 million?
- 2:10:36Speaker 6: No, no, the point I'm saying is they will not
- 2:10:39Speaker 6: agree on anything. Trump's trying to be a businessman, and
- 2:10:45Speaker 6: these guys.
- 2:10:45Speaker 2: Okay, they don't agree with him. I mean, they're saying, okay,
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: so now what? Now what do you want to do?
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: He's not their president. They're saying, who are you to
- 2:10:57Speaker 2: tell us what to do?
- 2:10:59Speaker 6: I think the people at my ranch would stand up.
- 2:11:03Speaker 2: Well, they're not. It seems to me, it's just my observation,
- 2:11:06Speaker 2: it seems to me you're binding them more together because
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: they're starting to hate the United States more because you're
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: destroying their country and killing their people. You think that's
- 2:11:17Speaker 2: going to make them love the United States or hate
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: the United States more?
- 2:11:21Speaker 6: You're right.
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: I mean, anytime you get involved in these situations, they
- 2:11:25Speaker 2: can escalate quite rapidly and not go how you think
- 2:11:27Speaker 2: they're going to go. I mean, it's I mean, some
- 2:11:32Speaker 2: of the stuff that is going on is some of
- 2:11:35Speaker 2: the killing that's going on is is is really I
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: don't think it surprises me. I never sensed Trump to
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: be like this. Listen, I'll say it again. I think
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: Trump was manipulated into this by Israel. It's been a
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: major mistake. And I don't think he knows how to
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: get out of it. And I mean, you can go
- 2:11:53Speaker 2: right back to bombing. We've done a lot of that
- 2:11:55Speaker 2: and it hasn't really worked. That's why I thought they
- 2:11:57Speaker 2: were shifting to the economic time bomb, as they said. Well, OK,
- 2:12:03Speaker 2: so give that some time and see if that works. Listen,
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: no one would be happier than me if we can
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: conclude this thing and get back to normal. Concluding it
- 2:12:11Speaker 2: means the strait is open. There are no tolls and
- 2:12:15Speaker 2: oil is flowing again. And that is concluding it. And
- 2:12:22Speaker 2: certainly making it not worse than it was, but better
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: than it was, if not the same as it was,
- 2:12:28Speaker 2: as far as the Strait is concerned.
- 2:12:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:12:31Speaker 2: So if that happens, hey, I'm all for it. I'd
- 2:12:34Speaker 2: love to see that happen tomorrow. But it doesn't appear
- 2:12:40Speaker 2: to me that they're willing to reach a settlement at
- 2:12:42Speaker 2: this point in time. You know, right. So maybe if
- 2:12:47Speaker 2: you bomb them more, will they? I don't know. Maybe
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: they will. Maybe if you do the economic, maybe they will.
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: It seems like they're pretty resilient and saying, screw you.
- 2:12:55Speaker 2: We'll just wait it out. But I do think I
- 2:13:01Speaker 2: do say this, Baba Ganoush. I go back to say this.
- 2:13:03Speaker 2: I'm just saying for my. Time on the planet. I
- 2:13:07Speaker 2: am getting a little sick of these things not being
- 2:13:09Speaker 2: debated in Congress. It's gone on weight. The American people
- 2:13:13Speaker 2: are not having a say-so on this stuff, and it's
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: costing us lives, and it costs us a lot. And
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: I think these issues need to be debated through Congress.
- 2:13:23Speaker 6: Well, the only problem is there's a lot of leakers.
- 2:13:28Speaker 3: In Congress.
- 2:13:30Speaker 2: Well, there's nothing to leak now. I think it should
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: be debated now. I think it should have been debated
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: shortly after this began on whether or not to. You
- 2:13:39Speaker 2: cannot call it a war, but it sure as hell
- 2:13:40Speaker 2: is a war.
- 2:13:43Speaker 6: Well, we're not losing any men or women.
- 2:13:47Speaker 2: Well, we've lost some. Huh? We've lost some.
- 2:13:53Speaker 6: Well, I agree.
- 2:13:58Speaker 2: With that, but the information coming out of there is
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: very limited. I mean, I think a lot of people
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: were surprised the damage done to the bases that were
- 2:14:06Speaker 2: in the Middle East was more extensive than they ever
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: told you. The lack of information coming out of there
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: is pretty troubling. You don't see any coverage coming out
- 2:14:18Speaker 2: of there.
- 2:14:18Speaker 11: Uh-huh.
- 2:14:20Speaker 2: So who knows what's... Just like in Ukraine, the coverage
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: coming out of there is very limited. It's like they
- 2:14:27Speaker 2: don't want you to know what's going on. That's what
- 2:14:29Speaker 2: troubles me. They don't want you to know what's going
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: on in Ukraine and they don't want you to know
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: what's going on over there. They just believe what we're
- 2:14:35Speaker 2: telling you.
- 2:14:37Speaker 6: I don't like the Ukraine situation.
- 2:14:39Speaker 2: Yes, you're getting worse. I just look around and say,
- 2:14:43Speaker 2: let's just say this is getting a lot worse on
- 2:14:45Speaker 2: both fronts and these things can escalate a great deal
- 2:14:48Speaker 2: and then everybody's gun hole until we say, we want
- 2:14:52Speaker 2: your son. We want your daughter. Pack up your things
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: and you're going now. And then all of a sudden,
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: that changes everything. All right?
- 2:15:02Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:15:02Speaker 2: Thank you, Bubba Ganoush. You're on the air. I got
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: to watch this speech. I didn't see it yet. Oh,
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: my God. It's the boss lady.
- 2:15:09Speaker 9: Oh, my God. I thought this was never going to...
- 2:15:12Speaker 9: I thought it was never going to get on. Are
- 2:15:14Speaker 9: you having a headache today?
- 2:15:18Speaker 2: No, I'm perfect.
- 2:15:18Speaker 18: You've been on one.
- 2:15:20Speaker 2: I'm trying to give you one.
- 2:15:22Speaker 9: Do you have your baby aspirin in your pocket?
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: Wait a minute. I'm glad you asked.
- 2:15:26Speaker 14: Here it is.
- 2:15:28Speaker 8: Well, thank God.
- 2:15:29Speaker 9: She's taking care of you.
- 2:15:32Speaker 2: She's taking good care of me. I agree. And you
- 2:15:36Speaker 2: know what? She doesn't leave me to go bowling. She
- 2:15:39Speaker 2: doesn't leave me to go bowling.
- 2:15:43Speaker 9: Imagine she doesn't. Listen, these vlog cameras, I think they're good.
- 2:15:48Speaker 9: There is some good to come out of it. But
- 2:15:50Speaker 9: I do think we need to make sure that they're
- 2:15:52Speaker 9: handled appropriately.
- 2:15:53Speaker 19: Right.
- 2:15:54Speaker 2: There's always got to be guardrails.
- 2:15:55Speaker 9: Technology can help us to locate missing people very quickly.
- 2:15:58Speaker 9: It can help recover stolen vehicles, yada, yada, yada, rapidly, quickly.
- 2:16:03Speaker 9: But it can't just be used as a free-for-all where
- 2:16:05Speaker 9: you can just start sifting through any Yahoo and view
- 2:16:09Speaker 9: them and collect it. And it shouldn't be held. And
- 2:16:13Speaker 9: it should need a warrant to access. And if that's happening,
- 2:16:17Speaker 9: it could... Help increase efficiency. And you know what I
- 2:16:21Speaker 9: care about? Efficiency because it's past $ 100. So if it
- 2:16:27Speaker 9: can help solve crimes faster, we'll be missing children faster,
- 2:16:32Speaker 9: find all these sex trafficked women and all this other
- 2:16:34Speaker 9: stuff faster because it's collecting us. There is some good there.
- 2:16:40Speaker 2: When you asked me what do I think you care about,
- 2:16:42Speaker 2: I thought I was going to say a 300 game.
- 2:16:46Speaker 8: No, taxes.
- 2:16:48Speaker 14: Taxes.
- 2:16:48Speaker 9: That's what I care about is taxes. And so I
- 2:16:50Speaker 9: look at it like it could help reduce because you're
- 2:16:54Speaker 9: going to see an increase in efficiency.
- 2:16:56Speaker 12: And I think, you know, but I.
- 2:16:58Speaker 9: Do think that people are bringing up very good points.
- 2:17:01Speaker 9: Some idiot shouldn't be able to go through because you're
- 2:17:04Speaker 9: going to have people.
- 2:17:06Speaker 2: I totally agree with what you're saying. There always has
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: to be guardrails on it, as there is on the
- 2:17:10Speaker 2: Leeds computer. Absolutely 100% agree with that.
- 2:17:14Speaker 9: But we all also need to be realistic. They know
- 2:17:16Speaker 9: where the hell we are right now. If there's a
- 2:17:19Speaker 9: flop camera or not, people, they already know.
- 2:17:24Speaker 2: Hang on, boss lady. We're being tracked everywhere.
- 2:17:27Speaker 9: The flop cameras don't freak me.
- 2:17:29Speaker 6: Out as bad as.
- 2:17:30Speaker 2: Hang on, I'm coming back with the boss lady. She
- 2:17:33Speaker 2: made it through, and we're glad she did. Back after this.
- 2:17:35Speaker 2: All right, back to the boss lady.
- 2:17:44Speaker 9: I think people just need to remember this.
- 2:17:46Speaker 4: Don't be a hypocrite.
- 2:17:47Speaker 9: If your grandchild was missing, if your niece or nephew.
- 2:17:50Speaker 6: Your own children were missing, and you knew there.
- 2:17:53Speaker 9: Was a piece of technology out there, would you say,
- 2:17:56Speaker 9: check the damn block camera, or would you say, I
- 2:17:59Speaker 9: refuse to allow you to survey the surveillance, the people
- 2:18:03Speaker 9: that were driving down the highway? I agree that public
- 2:18:07Speaker 9: safety should never become the excuse, though, for unchecked surveillance.
- 2:18:11Speaker 12: Correct.
- 2:18:11Speaker 9: Don't be hypocrite.
- 2:18:12Speaker 2: Right. It can help. But see, you make a reasonable
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: argument to say they're a benefit. We shouldn't deny our
- 2:18:19Speaker 2: police this tool to be used, but there should be
- 2:18:22Speaker 2: regulations on it, just as there are on the Leeds
- 2:18:25Speaker 2: computers in cars. Absolutely.
- 2:18:29Speaker 8: And I'm not a fool to know that.
- 2:18:30Speaker 3: I already know.
- 2:18:31Speaker 9: I mean, I feel like they're listening to me all
- 2:18:32Speaker 9: the time.
- 2:18:34Speaker 7: Maybe I'm going crazy.
- 2:18:36Speaker 2: But they probably are. How many times, and it's up
- 2:18:39Speaker 2: to every individual, like I was just reading here, somebody
- 2:18:42Speaker 2: was sending me about, let's see, LG TVs allegedly caught
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: secretly recording conversations even when apparently turned off. Somebody was
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: sending me an article on that. So how many people
- 2:18:55Speaker 2: have Alexa in their home where they say, you know, Alexa,
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: turn the lights on and all this kind of stuff?
- 2:19:01Speaker 2: How many people have, you know, talk to their phone
- 2:19:05Speaker 2: or their phone, all this kind of stuff? You choose
- 2:19:08Speaker 2: to have that. You can choose to have it in
- 2:19:10Speaker 2: your house or have ring cameras in your house or
- 2:19:12Speaker 2: outside your house. Those are all choices that you can make.
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: But as your stores have, but when you're out in public,
- 2:19:18Speaker 2: there's no... The privacy that you have, you're on a
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: public highway with a license plate issued to you by
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: the state. I mean, that's what it's all about.
- 2:19:28Speaker 9: I mean, again, like I said, if somebody was missing
- 2:19:32Speaker 9: or your car was stolen.
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: Or let's say somebody broke.
- 2:19:35Speaker 11: Into your car.
- 2:19:36Speaker 3: Would you be screaming?
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: Let's say somebody broke into your car and stole your
- 2:19:40Speaker 2: designer bowling shoes.
- 2:19:43Speaker 28: You better hunt him down.
- 2:19:44Speaker 9: Pull the cameras. Get those damn cameras out. I mean,
- 2:19:50Speaker 9: I got a bullet on Thursday, people.
- 2:19:52Speaker 10: I mean, seriously.
- 2:19:57Speaker 9: I'm trying not to be a.
- 2:19:58Speaker 28: Hypocrite, right?
- 2:19:59Speaker 9: I hate hypocrites.
- 2:20:00Speaker 14: That's my big thing.
- 2:20:01Speaker 9: But in all, I'm glad you brought your ass to
- 2:20:05Speaker 9: the bed.
- 2:20:07Speaker 2: I think I always have it with me. You know
- 2:20:10Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 2:20:11Speaker 6: I'm glad you do.
- 2:20:11Speaker 9: One of these days on this show, somebody's going to
- 2:20:14Speaker 9: push you.
- 2:20:15Speaker 28: No.
- 2:20:17Speaker 2: Listen, it's okay to agree and to disagree. It's like
- 2:20:23Speaker 2: I say, I always love that passion with J.J. the liberal,
- 2:20:26Speaker 2: now J.J. the Trumpster. That's what America's all about. This
- 2:20:29Speaker 2: is real, Boss Lady. This is real. This isn't rehearsed.
- 2:20:33Speaker 2: Everyone says my explosive conversation with G2 yesterday was a
- 2:20:37Speaker 2: rating stunt. No, it was not. It was an explosive conversation,
- 2:20:41Speaker 2: and we'll have more explosive ones and non-explosive ones, too.
- 2:20:45Speaker 2: Boss Lady, I'm glad you got through. You ended the
- 2:20:47Speaker 2: show on a positive note. You're the best. Thank you.
