- Lucas: And we are back! Welcome to another episode of Learn Danish with Fexingo. Luna: Hey Lucas! Ready for more Danish today? Lucas: Always, Luna. And first — a quick shout-out to Fexingo for making this possible. Luna: Yeah, we love Fexingo. Okay, so what are we doing today? Lucas: Remember a while back we learned numbers one to five? En, to, tre, fire, fem. Luna: Yes! En, to, tre, fire, fem. I still use those when I buy apples. Lucas: Perfect. Well today we go further. Numbers six to ten. Luna: Oh, I only know six in Danish. Seks? Lucas: Exactly. Seks is six. Say it with me: seks. Luna: Seks. Lucas: Good. Now, seven is syv. Repeat: syv. Luna: Syv. Lucas: Tiny tweak — it's like 'sue' with a v at the end. Syv. Luna: Syv. Got it. Lucas: Eight is otte. Repeat: otte. Luna: Otte. That's like 'ot-uh'. Lucas: Exactly. Nine is ni. Just like 'knee' but shorter. Ni. Luna: Ni. Lucas: And ten is ti. Repeat: ti. Luna: Ti. Lucas: Nice. Let's do them all together. Seks, syv, otte, ni, ti. Luna: Seks, syv, otte, ni, ti. Lucas: You got it. Now let's use them in a mini scene. Imagine you're at a market buying apples. Luna: Oh, I love apples. Lucas: So you say: Jeg vil gerne have seks æbler. Meaning: I would like six apples. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have seks æbler. Lucas: Perfect. Now suppose they only have seven apples left. You say: Jeg tager syv æbler. I'll take seven apples. Luna: Jeg tager syv æbler. Lucas: Great. Or maybe you want eight: otte æbler. Luna: Otte æbler. Lucas: Or nine: ni æbler. Luna: Ni æbler. Lucas: And ten: ti æbler. Luna: Ti æbler. That's a lot of apples! Lucas: Yeah, maybe too many. Let's practice counting backwards from ten. Ready? Luna: Uhh, let me think. Ti, ni, otte, syv, seks. Lucas: Wow, you did it! Backwards too. Luna: It's kind of fun. Lucas: Now let's mix with the numbers you already know. Count from one to ten. Luna: En, to, tre, fire, fem, seks, syv, otte, ni, ti. Lucas: Nailed it. Luna: Ahh, yes! I feel so accomplished. Lucas: You should. Let's do a quick drill. I'll say a number in English, you say it in Danish. Luna: Okay, bring it on. Lucas: Six. Luna: Seks. Lucas: Seven. Luna: Syv. Lucas: Eight. Luna: Otte. Lucas: Nine. Luna: Ni. Lucas: Ten. Luna: Ti. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's make it harder. I'll say a Danish number, and you tell me what it means. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Otte. Luna: Eight. Lucas: Seks. Luna: Six. Lucas: Ti. Luna: Ten. Lucas: Ni. Luna: Nine. Lucas: Syv. Luna: Seven. Lucas: Excellent. You know them all. Luna: Thanks to your great teaching. Lucas: Let's do a little story. Imagine you're at a fruit stand. You see apples, bananas, and oranges. You want to buy some. How many apples? Seks. Luna: Seks æbler. Lucas: And bananas? Syv bananer. Luna: Syv bananer. Lucas: Oranges? Otte appelsiner. Luna: Otte appelsiner. That's a lot of fruit. Lucas: Yes, but healthy. Now, can you ask for ni æbler? Luna: Jeg vil gerne have ni æbler. Lucas: Perfect. And if you want ti bananer? Luna: Jeg vil gerne have ti bananer. Lucas: You are ready for the market. Luna: I think so too. Let's do one more round of the numbers. Lucas: Sure. Repeat after me: seks. Luna: Seks. Lucas: Syv. Luna: Syv. Lucas: Otte. Luna: Otte. Lucas: Ni. Luna: Ni. Lucas: Ti. Luna: Ti. Lucas: And now from ten to one. Luna: Ti, ni, otte, syv, seks, fem, fire, tre, to, en. Lucas: Flawless. Luna: I love counting. It feels so satisfying. Lucas: Great. That's all for today. Remember: seks, syv, otte, ni, ti. Luna: Seks, syv, otte, ni, ti. Got it! Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: You're welcome, Luna. And thanks to Fexingo for supporting the show. Keep practicing these numbers, and next time we'll learn something new. Luna: Can't wait. See you next episode! Lucas: Farvel for now.
