- 0:00Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 0:02Speaker 3: Good morning, friends. Wednesday, just after 6 o'clock. Appreciate you
- 0:06Speaker 3: starting your day with us. Ricky's got those three things
- 0:08Speaker 3: presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 0:10Speaker 4: Drake is boycotting the Grammys again. He will not submit
- 0:13Speaker 4: his three albums that he came out with, Iceman, Habibti,
- 0:17Speaker 4: and Maid of Honor, for any Grammy consideration. Iceman was
- 0:22Speaker 4: a huge success on the charts. It broke his personal
- 0:24Speaker 4: record for longest run at the top of the top
- 0:27Speaker 4: R & B slash hip-hop albums chart.
- 0:29Speaker 5: But he's long criticized the Grammys.
- 0:31Speaker 4: He's said in rants on social media that there is a, quote,
- 0:36Speaker 4: disconnect between impactful music and these awards. So since withdrawing
- 0:41Speaker 4: his 2022 nominations, he's stayed away from the Grammys. The
- 0:45Speaker 4: only exception was 2024 for her loss. So you will
- 0:48Speaker 4: not see him win anything in the 2027 Grammys. Dolly
- 0:52Speaker 4: Parton Songteller Hotel and Museum is officially open.
- 0:56Speaker 3: The wait is over.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Anyone can stay at the hotel or visit the Life
- 1:01Speaker 4: of Many Colors Museum. The grand opening happened yesterday. The
- 1:05Speaker 4: whole place is an ode to Dolly's life and her legacy.
- 1:07Speaker 4: There's pieces of her placed throughout. Dolly described the Songteller
- 1:11Speaker 4: Hotel as her love letter to Nashville. So when you
- 1:14Speaker 4: get a chance, go check it out because we all
- 1:17Speaker 4: need a little Dolly as we continue on through. Especially because, like,
- 1:20Speaker 4: I don't know about you, but when we start to
- 1:22Speaker 4: get into the colder months, right now it feels nice.
- 1:24Speaker 4: But once it gets cold, it gets gloomy. And there's
- 1:27Speaker 4: nothing nicer than some pink sparkles and butterflies in your
- 1:30Speaker 4: life at that point.
- 1:31Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:31Speaker 2: Sure. I'm there.
- 1:33Speaker 4: And people are over sexy Halloween costumes. There's a new
- 1:38Speaker 4: survey that found sexy versions of any costume is just
- 1:42Speaker 4: old news.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Everyone's over it.
- 1:44Speaker 4: The list of most overplayed Halloween costumes were Pirates, The Joker, Cowboys,
- 1:50Speaker 4: and Cowgirls.
- 1:52Speaker 5: They also had things.
- 1:52Speaker 4: On there like Minion. I will never get over seeing
- 1:55Speaker 4: a Minion out.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Wait, hold on. We're not talking about... sexy anymore right.
- 1:58Speaker 4: So minion or sexy minion no longer in got it
- 2:03Speaker 4: not that i've personally seen a sexy minion.
- 2:05Speaker 3: But well that's something i gotta google.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Now there are also there are also costumes that people
- 2:12Speaker 4: are over like where's waldo and a mime couldn't tell
- 2:15Speaker 4: you the last time i've seen either of those I'm
- 2:17Speaker 4: Ricky Sanchez, and those are the three things.
- 2:18Speaker 5: You need to know.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Jingle Ball is coming. 107.5 The River's Jingle Ball presented
- 2:25Speaker 3: by Capital One. Nashville's first ever Jingle Ball. We are
- 2:28Speaker 3: bringing it to town. The lineup is crazy, and we've
- 2:31Speaker 3: got tickets all week for the first caller of the day.
- 2:34Speaker 5: If you are the first caller of.
- 2:35Speaker 4: The day on 107.5 The River, you get a pair
- 2:38Speaker 4: of tickets to see people like Alex Warren, Hilary Duff,
- 2:40Speaker 4: Teddy Swims, and more. Pull out that phone right now.
- 2:43Speaker 6: 615-737-9107.
- 2:47Speaker 3: You can buy them, too, just so you know. They
- 2:48Speaker 3: are on sale. They went on sale last Friday, and
- 2:50Speaker 3: they're going. So if you don't win them, 107.5theriver.com to
- 2:54Speaker 3: purchase them.
- 2:55Speaker 6: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Maria in Columbia, welcome to 107.5 The River.
- 3:00Speaker 5: How are you feeling this morning?
- 3:01Speaker 7: I'm feeling good.
- 3:03Speaker 6: How are you?
- 3:04Speaker 2: Good.
- 3:05Speaker 5: We feel great.
- 3:06Speaker 4: The weather's getting nicer, so the mornings feel good. Everything
- 3:09Speaker 4: feels like it's getting to, like, the fall, and that's
- 3:12Speaker 4: what we all have been craving.
- 3:13Speaker 5: So we are feeling great this morning, Maria.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Yes, that's great.
- 3:17Speaker 7: I hope that I was number one.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Well, we'll get there in a second. What do you
- 3:21Speaker 3: do for a living? I'm going to guess teacher. You
- 3:22Speaker 3: have a very nice, comforting voice.
- 3:25Speaker 7: I work with seniors, so I help them move into communities.
- 3:29Speaker 5: That's sweet.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I appreciate you so much as somebody who my grandfather
- 3:35Speaker 4: is getting older. He just turned 91, and he lives
- 3:38Speaker 4: in an assisted living home. And just the people that
- 3:41Speaker 4: work there are so important to his everyday happiness and health.
- 3:46Speaker 5: And it's really just important.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And they have a blast with the ones that we
- 3:50Speaker 1: send them to.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I love that.
- 3:52Speaker 7: It's really good to see.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Do you get close to the people or do you
- 3:55Speaker 3: try not to get too close?
- 3:57Speaker 7: Typically with what I do, we talk to different people
- 4:01Speaker 7: every day.
- 4:02Speaker 6: So I just talk to them and then send them
- 4:04Speaker 6: off to.
- 4:06Speaker 7: um the person at the.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Community but on the phone we.
- 4:09Speaker 7: Get pretty close and hear a lot about their stories.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Yeah kevin you got pretty grim there by the way well.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I don't i just feel like it'd be so hard
- 4:16Speaker 3: to not form a connection my grandfather's 91 and all
- 4:19Speaker 3: of these people are so important he's like do.
- 4:21Speaker 4: You uh worry that maybe you're gonna get a little
- 4:24Speaker 4: too close.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I feel like it would be a very sad job
- 4:28Speaker 3: for that reason and that's just the truth of it
- 4:29Speaker 3: you know what i mean you get to know people
- 4:31Speaker 3: and then That's it.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Zach, say something funny.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Okay, I was just going to ask.
- 4:35Speaker 8: More importantly, do you get ever invited to go play
- 4:37Speaker 8: bingo with them? Because I love going to play bingo
- 4:40Speaker 8: at the senior living facilities here.
- 4:42Speaker 7: There's one in Columbia that I go to.
- 4:44Speaker 9: It's called Brookdale.
- 4:47Speaker 3: And they have.
- 4:47Speaker 7: Little events where they do like charcuterie board making.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Cute.
- 4:53Speaker 7: So there's different things that I typically go to after work.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:57Speaker 4: That is very sweet, Maria. We are going to stop
- 5:00Speaker 4: yapping your ear off and let you know, because I
- 5:02Speaker 4: know you've been waiting to hear if you're the first
- 5:04Speaker 4: caller of the day. And you are. You're getting Jingle
- 5:07Speaker 4: Ball tickets.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yay!
- 5:08Speaker 7: Oh, I'm so excited. Thank you.
- 5:11Speaker 5: You're welcome.
- 5:12Speaker 3: You're welcome. They're all going to be there, and so
- 5:19Speaker 3: will you. You will be Nashville's first ever Jingle Ball. Congratulations.
- 5:22Speaker 7: Oh, I've been waking up just for this, honestly.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Oh, it paid off.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It worked out for you, Maria. Today's your lucky day.
- 5:28Speaker 7: Oh, thank you guys so much.
- 5:30Speaker 8: I'm so excited.
- 5:32Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Hang on the line, okay? We've got to get some
- 5:33Speaker 5: info from you.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:35Speaker 3: We want to thank our friends at Pigeon Forge for
- 5:37Speaker 3: being one of our local sponsors. We have more tomorrow
- 5:40Speaker 3: and Friday. If you want to win these tickets, start your.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Day with us. Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Ricky and Zach, I have a movie recommendation for you
- 5:49Speaker 3: this morning. Can't wait for it to be boring, Kevin.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I promise you it's not. It's for everybody. It's not
- 5:54Speaker 3: just for Ricky and Zach. I didn't have the highest
- 5:57Speaker 3: of hopes. The critics were not too nice to this movie.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I really liked it. And it's very, very Nashville.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I'm not feeling positive about this at all.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Why are you both so skeptical? We are so sus
- 6:07Speaker 3: right now.
- 6:07Speaker 4: You just said everybody hated it, but you liked it?
- 6:10Speaker 3: It was great. I'm going to tell you what it
- 6:11Speaker 3: is right after Bruno.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Mars on the river. 107.5 The River.
- 6:14Speaker 6: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 6:17Speaker 5: I hope you're ready to hear from Kevin, the movie critic.
- 6:21Speaker 4: It's Ricky Sacramento in the morning on 107.5 The River.
- 6:24Speaker 4: He told us that there is a movie that he
- 6:25Speaker 4: saw that he believes we should watch, even though the
- 6:29Speaker 4: actual critics don't like it.
- 6:31Speaker 3: We're not all that nice to this movie. And I
- 6:33Speaker 3: do think I have good taste in movies. So I
- 6:35Speaker 3: think there's something to Kevin, the movie critic.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:39Speaker 3: A little laugh in your voice.
- 6:41Speaker 5: I said yes.
- 6:42Speaker 3: The breadwinner with Nate Bargetti, his movie that just came
- 6:45Speaker 3: out not that long ago. It didn't get the best reviews.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Nate's a local guy, obviously. We like Nate. on Rotten Tomatoes.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I watched it with my whole family, my kids and
- 6:58Speaker 3: my wife the other night. Everybody loved it. We all
- 7:01Speaker 3: really enjoyed it. The kids were laughing the whole time.
- 7:02Speaker 3: My wife and I were doing some belly laughs at
- 7:05Speaker 3: certain points. It genuinely was good. And the number of
- 7:09Speaker 3: very Nashville-centric references, you have to watch it for that alone.
- 7:13Speaker 5: I don't know that I had any interest. I'm just
- 7:17Speaker 5: going to be so honest.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I'm telling you right now that you should. Don't sleep
- 7:21Speaker 3: on the movie.
- 7:23Speaker 4: That didn't really convince me.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Let me tell you a few of the Nashville things.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Your children laugh at your dad jokes.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Well, my dad jokes are fantastic, but here. Vandy QB
- 7:31Speaker 3: Jared Curtis makes a cameo in the movie because I
- 7:33Speaker 3: know Nate's a big Vanderbilt fan. Young Nashville musician Maddox
- 7:38Speaker 3: Batson is in the movie. I know you guys are
- 7:40Speaker 3: both familiar with They mention Centennial Park a bunch. They
- 7:44Speaker 3: show Nissan Stadium several times. This one I got most
- 7:47Speaker 3: excited about, Donut Den. At one point toward the end
- 7:50Speaker 3: of the movie, somebody walks in with a Donut Den bag,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and I love Donut Den. I spent so much time
- 7:55Speaker 3: there with my kids when they were little, so I
- 7:56Speaker 3: was very excited to see that one. So watch for
- 7:59Speaker 3: the Nashville references alone, and I promise you'll be pleasantly
- 8:01Speaker 3: surprised by the movie.
- 8:03Speaker 5: How long is this movie?
- 8:04Speaker 3: It's not long. Hour and a half? It's an hour
- 8:07Speaker 3: and 40 minutes.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 3: So you lied. No, you cut out the credits and
- 8:10Speaker 3: it's an hour and a half.
- 8:12Speaker 8: Kevin, on a scale of 1 to 10, what would
- 8:14Speaker 8: you rate it? 7, but.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Fun for the whole family.
- 8:20Speaker 5: We don't have families.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Find a family to watch the movie with.
- 8:24Speaker 4: We have our families and we don't have kids.
- 8:27Speaker 8: I can't give you credit on this movie because it
- 8:29Speaker 8: has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 19%. Oh, I thought
- 8:32Speaker 8: it was higher than that.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Nope.
- 8:34Speaker 8: According to Google.
- 8:37Speaker 3: It's 19%. Do it for Nashville. Do it for me, guys.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It's on Netflix now. It's not in any way an endorsement.
- 8:43Speaker 3: If this was an endorsement, this would be a bad endorsement.
- 8:46Speaker 3: We're dragging it through the mud here. But I promise you,
- 8:50Speaker 3: I did not go in with high expectations, and I
- 8:53Speaker 3: really liked it. So trust me. I will give it
- 8:57Speaker 3: five minutes.
- 8:58Speaker 5: You've been trying to get me to watch Backrooms? For months.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Which one should I watch first?
- 9:04Speaker 3: Back Rooms.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Okay, that says everything I need to know.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Thank you so very much for that, Kevin.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Go in alphabetical order from Back Rooms to The Breadwinner.
- 9:12Speaker 3: But I promise you it was a good movie. And
- 9:13Speaker 3: I rest my case. Go watch it if you want
- 9:15Speaker 3: to watch it.
- 9:16Speaker 5: No beef against Nate.
- 9:17Speaker 2: No, we love Nate.
- 9:18Speaker 3: No, we love him.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Just, I don't know that I'm going to watch it.
- 9:21Speaker 3: It's beef against me. Yeah, mostly.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 9:25Speaker 3: All right, let's go. It is 7 o'clock, just after
- 9:28Speaker 3: 7 o'clock on this Wednesday morning. Glad you're here with us.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Ricky's got those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Do you have 701 on your clock?
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yep.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Oh, I have seven.
- 9:38Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 9:38Speaker 3: 701, baby.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Interesting.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid may be married. They were
- 9:44Speaker 4: photographed this week in Paris wearing matching rings, leading everyone
- 9:48Speaker 4: to believe that, you know, they probably did this in secret.
- 9:51Speaker 5: And a source says that's exactly what they did.
- 9:53Speaker 4: They said that they quietly got married and made a
- 9:56Speaker 4: deliberate decision to not make it public.
- 9:58Speaker 5: But obviously they're in the public eyes.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Eventually everybody's going to start seeing things and going hmm
- 10:03Speaker 4: I think they're married neither of them have actually confirmed
- 10:05Speaker 4: this just yet this is just what you will see
- 10:07Speaker 4: all over online the two of them have wedding bands
- 10:11Speaker 4: is what a lot of these tabloids are calling them
- 10:14Speaker 4: but matching rings that look very nice if I may
- 10:16Speaker 4: add Singer Lola Young is coming to Nashville next year.
- 10:20Speaker 4: You know her from her song Messy, which she won
- 10:22Speaker 4: the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for. She's announced
- 10:26Speaker 4: a tour for 2027. She's kicking it off in Nashville
- 10:30Speaker 4: at the Pinnacle on April 6th. Great news to hear
- 10:32Speaker 4: as she put a pause on performing this time last
- 10:35Speaker 4: year due to collapsing mid-concert and eventually placed herself in
- 10:39Speaker 4: a rehab facility. So it appears that she's doing better,
- 10:41Speaker 4: which is really great news. Presale tickets go on sale today.
- 10:45Speaker 4: General on sale starts on Friday at 10 a.m. You
- 10:49Speaker 4: know what trick-or-treating is, obviously. We've been trick-or-treating forever and
- 10:53Speaker 4: ever and ever. But trick-or-reading is a new trend that's
- 10:57Speaker 4: gaining some momentum. So it swaps out getting Halloween candy
- 11:00Speaker 4: and treats for children's books instead. Supporters say that Halloween-themed
- 11:04Speaker 4: books can help boost literacy because kids are already really
- 11:07Speaker 4: excited about costumes, ghosts, pumpkins, and all the things that
- 11:11Speaker 4: come with October. So that interest is already there. You're
- 11:14Speaker 4: just pushing it a little bit more with a book
- 11:17Speaker 4: about it. Uh, communities, schools, even some neighborhoods are getting
- 11:20Speaker 4: involved by giving out books either by themselves or alongside
- 11:24Speaker 4: some candy as well.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I like this.
- 11:27Speaker 5: I like it too.
- 11:28Speaker 4: If you can afford to do it in your neighborhood,
- 11:29Speaker 4: I think it's a great idea. Um, if not schools,
- 11:33Speaker 4: great idea for them if they have the money to
- 11:35Speaker 4: do it, because obviously.
- 11:38Speaker 5: We need everybody to read. It's very important. I'm Ricky Sanchez.
- 11:41Speaker 5: And those are the three things you need to know.
- 11:43Speaker 3: And I'm going to say something controversial here, Ricky, but
- 11:45Speaker 3: it's the dad and me too much candy on Halloween. Oh,
- 11:48Speaker 3: my God, Kevin. Just too much.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Kevin brings in his kids' candy to us, and then
- 11:54Speaker 4: I eat it for breakfast every morning.
- 11:57Speaker 5: You got to stop.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Because you're agreeing with me that it's just too much.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Thank you for all of that, Ricky.
- 12:02Speaker 4: No, I am not agreeing with you. Let your kids
- 12:04Speaker 4: eat it.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Here's Dominic Fyke. We're going to play M & M
- 12:06Speaker 3: after this, and then we're going to learn together. Zach's
- 12:09Speaker 3: Facts coming next.
- 12:11Speaker 6: Class is in session.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Zach's Facts, brought to you by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 12:16Speaker 6: On 107.5 The River.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Did you guys know what you call a baby hedgehog?
- 12:20Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 12:22Speaker 3: It's so cute. They're hoglets. Like a piglet, but a hoglet.
- 12:28Speaker 5: That is adorable.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I've been getting a lot of videos on my social
- 12:31Speaker 4: media of little kids trying to say hedgehog.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Because they can't.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's a hard word to say. And
- 12:37Speaker 3: it's phenomenal.
- 12:37Speaker 8: Now the babies are little hoglets, so I need videos
- 12:40Speaker 8: of those too.
- 12:42Speaker 3: And there's your fact of the day. Thanks, Zach.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 12:46Speaker 5: Are you a square, circle, triangle, or spiral? There's a
- 12:51Speaker 5: guy on social media.
- 12:52Speaker 4: He had posted this video saying that he categorizes all
- 12:55Speaker 4: of his friends as one of those shapes.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Square, circle, triangle, or spiral.
- 13:00Speaker 4: And Zach brought it to us as like, what do
- 13:03Speaker 4: you guys think you are?
- 13:05Speaker 5: Fascinating thought process.
- 13:06Speaker 3: It really is. I know what you are.
- 13:09Speaker 5: You know what I am?
- 13:10Speaker 3: Can I say what I think you are?
- 13:12Speaker 5: I mean, yes, because I think I know what I am.
- 13:14Speaker 3: You're a triangle.
- 13:15Speaker 4: That's what I said.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Yeah, in my head, I said I'm a triangle. For
- 13:19Speaker 4: sure feels like I am a triangle. I think we
- 13:23Speaker 4: all know what Zach is without having to say what
- 13:24Speaker 4: it is.
- 13:25Speaker 5: But we'll get into it a little bit more.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 13:29Speaker 6: On 107.5 The River. Are you a square?
- 13:32Speaker 3: A circle, a triangle, or a spiral? That is our
- 13:35Speaker 3: question for you right now. There is a reason we're
- 13:37Speaker 3: asking this guy, sort of classifying all of his friends.
- 13:40Speaker 3: And Ricky and I both agree that Ricky is a triangle. Zach,
- 13:42Speaker 3: what do you think Ricky is? I would say a
- 13:45Speaker 3: mixture between a circle and a triangle. That's not a thing.
- 13:49Speaker 3: You can't combine them. Why not?
- 13:51Speaker 5: Wouldn't a circle and a triangle be a spiral?
- 13:54Speaker 3: So you're a spiral. Interesting.
- 13:56Speaker 4: I think that's untrue coming from the spiral's mouth.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Zach is definitely a spiral. You agree with that, Zach?
- 14:02Speaker 5: Zach is 100% a spiral.
- 14:03Speaker 8: No, I'm a spiral circle combined.
- 14:05Speaker 3: You can be more than one thing. A spiral is
- 14:07Speaker 3: a circle. Life is not black and white. Our whole
- 14:09Speaker 3: question is, are you one of these four things? We're
- 14:11Speaker 3: not combining. Life is not black and white, Kevin. I
- 14:15Speaker 3: can be two things. Zach, you're a spiral. You're a spiral.
- 14:17Speaker 3: You're absolutely a spiral.
- 14:18Speaker 5: You're aware that you're a spiral.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Because, I mean, I think both of us agree. We'll
- 14:21Speaker 4: say what Kevin is in the count of three.
- 14:23Speaker 5: One, two, three.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Square.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I agree completely. I am square.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Big time. This is a whole psychological kind of experiment, right? Like,
- 14:34Speaker 4: when you think about shapes and then you try to
- 14:36Speaker 4: attach them to people, you have certain ideas of what
- 14:39Speaker 4: those shapes mean and what those shapes are and the
- 14:42Speaker 4: people that you're speaking of.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So.
- 14:44Speaker 4: I found this fascinating, even more fascinating that the same
- 14:48Speaker 4: guy online who presented the question and said, like, which
- 14:52Speaker 4: one are you? Because I put all of my friends
- 14:54Speaker 4: in these four categories. He had a totally different idea
- 14:57Speaker 4: of what these things were than I did. And I guess, like,
- 15:01Speaker 4: not totally on every one of them, but a little
- 15:03Speaker 4: bit different than what I thought. So for a square,
- 15:05Speaker 4: he said pretty type A, which is what I figured.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Me, yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Squares, yep, type A, structure, routines, rigid, a circle.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Is very adaptable and kind of fits in anywhere. Triangle,
- 15:17Speaker 4: they said, foundation of the group. Not the flashiest or loudest,
- 15:22Speaker 4: which I thought was interesting because I figured I was
- 15:25Speaker 4: a triangle.
- 15:26Speaker 5: And I am for sure the loudest.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Yep, you are not a triangle. I picked triangle for
- 15:30Speaker 3: you because I know a triangle is the strongest shape.
- 15:34Speaker 3: in nature. And so I figured that was you.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Aw, Kevin.
- 15:38Speaker 5: That was really nice.
- 15:40Speaker 4: And then obviously Spiral, we all can agree, wild card.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Spiral's a wild card.
- 15:44Speaker 3: You never know what you're going to get.
- 15:46Speaker 4: The fascinating thing that he said about a.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Spiral was that it's temporary.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Because normally people age out of being a spiral and
- 15:53Speaker 4: it's just a face.
- 15:54Speaker 6: God.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Which I thought was interesting when I thought about Zach.
- 15:57Speaker 3: How lucky are we to know a permanent spiral? There's
- 16:01Speaker 3: not many of them out there. I love Spiral Circle.
- 16:03Speaker 3: That's something a spiral would say.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Ricky, do you know the fairy tale about the boy
- 16:10Speaker 3: that waited too long to get his Jingle Ball tickets?
- 16:12Speaker 3: Do you know what happened to him?
- 16:13Speaker 4: I don't, but I assume it was something pretty bad.
- 16:15Speaker 3: It was terrible. They were all sold out, and he
- 16:18Speaker 3: couldn't go.
- 16:19Speaker 5: That is the worst case scenario.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Yeah, so 1075theriver. com. Don't be like that little boy from
- 16:25Speaker 3: that classic fairy tale. Get your Jingle Ball tickets. Before
- 16:27Speaker 3: they are gone, we're going to have J.Y.T., The Beaches,
- 16:30Speaker 3: Stella Lefty, Nickelback, Teddy Swims, Hilary Duff, Alex Warren, and
- 16:35Speaker 3: these guys, OneRepublic, all together in December at Bridgestone. They
- 16:38Speaker 3: are going. They went until Friday.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Don't wait.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Don't procrastinate. Get your tickets.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 16:44Speaker 4: We want to get you prepped for our 107.5 The
- 16:46Speaker 4: River Jingle Ball because we got tickets to see Teddy
- 16:49Speaker 4: Swims at Bridgestone Arena.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Next weekend on the 16th.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah, we're playing a game this week called What Else
- 16:54Speaker 3: Does Teddy Do? Very silly game. We all know that
- 16:58Speaker 3: Teddy swims. So we are asking you, what else does
- 17:02Speaker 3: Teddy do for these tickets to see Teddy swims? Honestly,
- 17:05Speaker 3: I love this game. It's very funny to me. I
- 17:07Speaker 3: like that, Zach. Thank you very much.
- 17:08Speaker 5: I don't like this game.
- 17:09Speaker 3: I can read it all over Ricky's face that she
- 17:11Speaker 3: does not.
- 17:11Speaker 1: 615-737-9107.
- 17:11Speaker 3: I'll be completely honest. It's a pretty easy game. That's
- 17:14Speaker 3: the one.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Positive yeah that's the one part i like is that
- 17:21Speaker 4: it is easy it is just the most ridiculous game
- 17:24Speaker 4: we have ever played for.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Kevin mann's game of the day.
- 17:27Speaker 4: And that's saying a whole lot uh-huh if you.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Want to play if you want to win these tickets
- 17:34Speaker 3: 615-737-9107 what else does teddy do you got to get
- 17:36Speaker 3: two out of three of these questions right to get
- 17:37Speaker 3: the tickets we are playing.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Next Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Kevin Mano's game of the.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Day on 107.5 The River presented.
- 17:44Speaker 5: By Genesis Diamonds. We got tickets to see Teddy Swims
- 17:47Speaker 5: at Bridgestone Arena next weekend.
- 17:49Speaker 4: This is kind of like a warm-up for 107.5 The
- 17:52Speaker 4: River Jingle Ball.
- 17:53Speaker 5: We are playing What Else Does Teddy Do?
- 17:56Speaker 3: It's an awesome game that we came up with.
- 18:00Speaker 5: We did not come up with this.
- 18:01Speaker 3: We collectively, we had a meeting. I think Ricky brought
- 18:03Speaker 3: this one to the table.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I swear to God.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Mark is on the line right now. Mark is dropping
- 18:07Speaker 3: his daughter off at school. How old's your daughter, Mark?
- 18:09Speaker 2: Six.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Okay, she can help with this game. I bet she
- 18:12Speaker 3: would win this game. It's pretty easy. For tickets to
- 18:15Speaker 3: see Teddy Swims before he's here in December for the
- 18:17Speaker 3: Jingle Ball, he's got his own show coming up at Bridgestone.
- 18:20Speaker 3: You feeling confident?
- 18:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 3: You got to get two out of three of these right. Mark,
- 18:25Speaker 3: your game starts right now. What does Teddy subconsciously do
- 18:31Speaker 3: when he needs to lubricate his eyes? Teddy uses eye drops? Nope.
- 18:38Speaker 3: It's something that your body naturally does.
- 18:41Speaker 4: You do it without even thinking.
- 18:46Speaker 3: It rhymes with think. teddy swims no okay you did
- 18:52Speaker 3: not get this point the answer is teddy blinks okay
- 18:55Speaker 3: teddy blinks oh my god okay now you're still alive
- 19:00Speaker 3: don't worry i knew.
- 19:01Speaker 4: You were gonna be so mad when you heard the
- 19:03Speaker 4: answer but now you get how the game works mark
- 19:06Speaker 4: you get the idea.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Here what does teddy do you need this to stay
- 19:10Speaker 3: alive what does teddy do when he needs to interpret
- 19:13Speaker 3: a series of printed words Oh, Teddy reads.
- 19:18Speaker 2: There we go.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he does. Reading is fundamental and Teddy loves it.
- 19:22Speaker 1: What?
- 19:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:26Speaker 4: This is the dumbest game ever.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I'm on the edge of my seat over here. You
- 19:33Speaker 3: get this.
- 19:33Speaker 7: You guys are cracking me up.
- 19:35Speaker 3: You get this, you win. What does Teddy do when
- 19:38Speaker 3: he needs to move air from his lungs into the
- 19:41Speaker 3: surrounding atmosphere? When he needs to move air in and
- 19:45Speaker 3: out of his lungs? Teddy Breeze. Teddy Breeze!
- 19:49Speaker 6: Yeah, he does!
- 19:50Speaker 3: He does! Nice job, Mark! Way to go, Mark. You're
- 19:54Speaker 3: going to see Teddy Swims on the 16th of Bridgestone.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 19:59Speaker 4: This is the most ridiculous thing I think we've ever
- 20:03Speaker 4: done on this show.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Thank you for being a part of.
- 20:06Speaker 3: It, Mark.
- 20:08Speaker 2: No worries.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Hang on the line.
- 20:10Speaker 3: We got to get your info, okay? we're the only
- 20:14Speaker 3: radio station that's ever played this game?
- 20:15Speaker 5: I confidently 100% can say yes.
- 20:18Speaker 3: I think we could go expand on that.
- 20:21Speaker 8: I think we might be the only humans on planet
- 20:23Speaker 8: Earth that have ever played this game.
- 20:26Speaker 3: We are playing again tomorrow. If you want these tickets,
- 20:29Speaker 3: be here at 745. And don't forget, Teddy Swims is
- 20:32Speaker 3: a part of the Jingle Ball, which is coming up
- 20:34Speaker 3: December 17th. If you want to get those tickets, hit
- 20:36Speaker 3: up our website, 1075theriver. com. I'm stalling while Ricky picks herself
- 20:40Speaker 3: up off the floor.
- 20:41Speaker 2: What?
- 20:42Speaker 4: I limit it to just radio stations.
- 20:44Speaker 3: It's the worst.
- 20:46Speaker 5: No one is this ridiculous.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 20:51Speaker 2: All right, let's go.
- 20:51Speaker 3: It's just after 8 o'clock. Ricky Sanchez has those three
- 20:54Speaker 3: things for you. Presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Singer Slater announced that she has a new album, Worst
- 21:00Speaker 4: Man in America is the title, which is the companion
- 21:03Speaker 4: album to her already released Worst Girl in America. It's
- 21:07Speaker 4: a nine-track album. It's set to release on December 4th,
- 21:09Speaker 4: so pretty soon, actually. There are already two songs out
- 21:12Speaker 4: from the upcoming album, Crank 2 and Brand New Channels.
- 21:16Speaker 5: They are already out.
- 21:17Speaker 4: On streaming, so you can check those out. She's currently
- 21:20Speaker 4: on her sold-out tour right now, which is pretty wild.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Congrats to her on that. Worst Girl in America is
- 21:26Speaker 4: the tour, so we'll see if we're going to get
- 21:28Speaker 4: another tour after this. The Plain White Tees will play
- 21:32Speaker 4: a free pregame concert at Vandyville this weekend. They're going
- 21:36Speaker 4: to go on before Vandy takes on Ole Miss, which
- 21:38Speaker 4: is set for 2.30 p.m.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Kickoff.
- 21:41Speaker 5: Vandyville will open at 11.30.
- 21:42Speaker 4: The Plain White Tees performance is supposed to be happening
- 21:46Speaker 4: at 12.30.
- 21:47Speaker 5: So you can go hang out in Vandyville.
- 21:48Speaker 4: They have a bunch of things happening there while you
- 21:50Speaker 4: wait for the Plain White Tees to get on and perform.
- 21:54Speaker 4: This is exactly when to book Thanksgiving and Christmas travel.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Everybody's obviously starting to do so. If you haven't, you
- 22:01Speaker 4: got to get on it. According to Google Flights, they
- 22:03Speaker 4: found that ticket prices tend to be the lowest about
- 22:06Speaker 4: 34 days before the departure for Thanksgiving. Lowest fares are
- 22:11Speaker 4: offered between 21 and 57 days before the holiday, meaning
- 22:15Speaker 4: that your cheapest options are going to emerge in October,
- 22:19Speaker 4: which we're in October right now. When it comes to Christmas,
- 22:22Speaker 4: prices are the lowest about 56 days before departure. And
- 22:26Speaker 4: the best prices can be found between 33 and 67
- 22:29Speaker 4: days ahead of your travel date. Very big margin there.
- 22:33Speaker 2: 33 to 67.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Best deals are going to be available between late October
- 22:38Speaker 4: and mid-November. So keep your eye out on that and
- 22:41Speaker 4: find the right sweet spot for you. These prices are
- 22:45Speaker 4: getting kind of outrageous. As somebody who just had to
- 22:47Speaker 4: buy one, not great. I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are
- 22:50Speaker 4: the three things you.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Need to know.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 22:54Speaker 6: On 107.5 The River.
- 22:56Speaker 4: We all had moments that we thought something to be
- 22:59Speaker 4: true and then later found out.
- 23:01Speaker 5: That it was embarrassingly false.
- 23:03Speaker 4: It's 107.5 the river there is a full thread that
- 23:07Speaker 4: i was reading last night giggling to myself of all
- 23:11Speaker 4: the things that people used to believe were true and
- 23:13Speaker 4: then found out later they weren't like for instance this
- 23:16Speaker 4: person said they thought the laugh track that you.
- 23:19Speaker 5: Heard on sitcoms were people at home.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Laughing at the joke so they would run up to
- 23:24Speaker 4: the tv and laugh really loudly into the speaker that
- 23:27Speaker 4: It's actually so cute and innocent.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It's adorable.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 23:30Speaker 6: I love that.
- 23:31Speaker 3: It's adorable. I want to run through a few of these.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I also just got hit in the face with one
- 23:36Speaker 3: from my past that I want to share next as well.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Oh, I can't wait to hear it.
- 23:39Speaker 3: It's coming right after Teddy Swims. Another one of our
- 23:41Speaker 3: Jingle Ball artists. Get your tickets at 107.5 The River.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Things that people used to think were true, maybe when
- 23:50Speaker 3: they were kids, when they were younger, before kind of
- 23:52Speaker 3: getting hit with the realization that that's not true.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Some of these are as adults.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Here's mine. When I was a kid, we had this dog.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Frosty was her name. She was a little white terrier, Frosty.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Cute name. And I remember as a child really believing
- 24:06Speaker 3: that dogs could talk. They just didn't want to let
- 24:10Speaker 3: everybody know. Maybe I learned it from like, look who's
- 24:12Speaker 3: talking or something.
- 24:12Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 24:13Speaker 3: But I would sit in a room with Frosty.
- 24:15Speaker 5: Wow, look who's talking.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Throwback.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I would sit in a room with Frosty and be like, hey,
- 24:20Speaker 3: it's just me and you.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I won't tell anybody. I promise you I won't tell anybody. And, like,
- 24:26Speaker 3: I would just plead with Frosty to talk to me,
- 24:29Speaker 3: and that never happened. That is honestly adorable, Kevin. Yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 3: it never happened. I'm just picturing it, and that's so cute.
- 24:35Speaker 4: That is really cute. Obviously, it never happened because dogs
- 24:38Speaker 4: can't actually talk. But, what do you mean, well?
- 24:41Speaker 3: I think they're just really good at keeping the secret,
- 24:45Speaker 3: you know? Okay.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Well, I have some other things that people thought were
- 24:50Speaker 4: true and then embarrassingly found out later that they were
- 24:52Speaker 4: not true. This person said, for years, I thought pre-Madonna
- 24:56Speaker 4: was pre-Madonna, as in a person who is an up-and-coming diva.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Oh.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Which I love that one.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I kind of love it. I think that's fantastic.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 4: This person said they believed their brother when he told
- 25:08Speaker 4: her that every person has a certain number of words
- 25:12Speaker 4: that they can use over their lifetime, so she.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Should pace herself. She said, shut me up for several months.
- 25:19Speaker 3: God, we should have used that on Ricky's egg. That's
- 25:21Speaker 3: a great parenting hack, though. You're hilarious!
- 25:25Speaker 4: I get paid to do this, Kevin. Okay, so I
- 25:28Speaker 4: used to think Hamburger Helper helped you make a hamburger.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Like actually someone would come with the Hamburger Helper to
- 25:36Speaker 4: make you Hamburger Helper. Yeah, there's some wild things here.
- 25:41Speaker 3: The other ones were cute and like really innocent.
- 25:43Speaker 8: This one just like really makes me sad for society
- 25:45Speaker 8: that they would actually think that.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Like you buy a box from Kroger. And they think
- 25:49Speaker 3: someone's going to actually help you.
- 25:54Speaker 2: 615-737-9107.
- 25:54Speaker 3: If you have one that just popped in mind from
- 25:57Speaker 3: your past, we won't make fun of you. I promise.
- 25:59Speaker 3: It's a safe space. 615-737-9107. And we're going to play
- 26:03Speaker 3: another one of our Jingle Ball Artists next.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 26:07Speaker 4: We all have something that we used to think and
- 26:09Speaker 4: then later found out that it's not true. And we're
- 26:12Speaker 4: a little embarrassed by it, but we are accepting of
- 26:15Speaker 4: the embarrassment here on 107.5 The River. Miranda and Nashville,
- 26:19Speaker 4: what did you used to believe?
- 26:20Speaker 7: Okay, so this is around the time you start to
- 26:23Speaker 7: get your ears pierced.
- 26:25Speaker 3: And there was this show on Nickelodeon called You Can't
- 26:28Speaker 3: Do That on television.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:29Speaker 7: Y'all remember this at all?
- 26:30Speaker 3: Oh my God, yeah, where they would get slimed and stuff.
- 26:32Speaker 6: Okay.
- 26:33Speaker 7: Yeah, well, there was one episode where they had someone
- 26:35Speaker 7: like tied up on a pole and there were two
- 26:39Speaker 7: people pretending to shoot at them. And I thought that's
- 26:42Speaker 7: what happened when you got your ears pierced.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Like a firing squad. That's how you get your ears pierced.
- 26:49Speaker 6: So, exactly.
- 26:50Speaker 7: So, when I walk into the department store and there's
- 26:53Speaker 7: these little stunts to pierce my ears, I'm like, oh,
- 26:55Speaker 7: this is nothing. Like, I'm relieved.
- 26:59Speaker 4: That is a terrifying thought, Miranda.
- 27:02Speaker 5: I'm also more terrified, Miranda, that you.
- 27:05Speaker 8: Thought that that was going to happen and you still
- 27:07Speaker 8: went through with it.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I know.
- 27:10Speaker 7: I'm so brave.
- 27:12Speaker 6: I know.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I know.
- 27:12Speaker 7: And that's just the disturbing thing we went through as
- 27:16Speaker 7: our childhood Nickelodeon.
- 27:17Speaker 6: Things a lot. Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 3: That's so funny.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Miranda, thank you so much for opening up about that.
- 27:24Speaker 7: You're welcome, guys.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Have a great day, love.
- 27:27Speaker 4: You too.
- 27:28Speaker 7: Okay, bye.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Here's Nickelback. They're going to be at our Jingle Ball
- 27:32Speaker 3: in December. 107.5theriver.com to get your tickets before they're gone
- 27:36Speaker 3: and they are going.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 27:40Speaker 6: On 107.5 The River.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Remember back in the day when Justin Timberlake used to
- 27:44Speaker 4: beatbox whenever he could? He would just get on a
- 27:47Speaker 4: little moment, a little tangent. He loved to beatbox. That's
- 27:50Speaker 4: today's Daily Double Tap on 107.5 The River.
- 27:53Speaker 5: Not him beatboxing, just our remembrance of it.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Commentary about it. Here we go.
- 27:57Speaker 9: We don't talk about Justin Timberlake beatboxing enough because there
- 28:01Speaker 9: was a moment in time where that man would be
- 28:04Speaker 9: in the middle of a song and just boots and cats,
- 28:07Speaker 9: boots and cats. And we were like, yes, there he is.
- 28:11Speaker 9: Nobody questioned it. Nobody said, Justin, you know, we have drums.
- 28:17Speaker 9: This is a professional recording studio. You gave that man
- 28:21Speaker 9: a microphone and there was always a chance that he
- 28:24Speaker 9: was about to go, boots and cats, boots and cats.
- 28:27Speaker 5: And we liked it.
- 28:28Speaker 9: That's what I need us to sit with.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I like the boots and cats. I'm glad that she.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Boots and cats, boots and cats.
- 28:34Speaker 3: So she posted that online, and here is his response.
- 28:38Speaker 3: He left a comment on her video. He wrote, I
- 28:40Speaker 3: often look back on that time as well. I still
- 28:42Speaker 3: haven't come up with my answers. I don't know how
- 28:44Speaker 3: to apologize enough for whatever those ambitions were. Too many boots,
- 28:47Speaker 3: too many cats. I hope you can forgive me. Also,
- 28:50Speaker 3: I can't promise I won't do it again. God help
- 28:53Speaker 3: us all.
- 28:55Speaker 8: I want to go back to the boots and cats
- 28:57Speaker 8: days of Justin Timberlake.
- 28:58Speaker 5: I don't know that we need to.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I think we should. That was a good time in
- 29:01Speaker 3: our life.
- 29:02Speaker 5: The time, sure.
- 29:04Speaker 4: But that was not that great. And while not all
- 29:06Speaker 4: of us were questioning it and a lot of us
- 29:08Speaker 4: were accepting of it, there were plenty of people questioning it.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I think there were. There were a lot of.
- 29:12Speaker 5: People questioning it.
- 29:13Speaker 4: We just didn't have social media where we could all connect.
- 29:15Speaker 5: On the fact that we were questioning it.
- 29:17Speaker 3: You're absolutely right, Ricky.
- 29:18Speaker 6: Totally.
- 29:18Speaker 3: And I mean, again, without social media back in those days,
- 29:21Speaker 3: Justin Timberlake was the king of the world and he
- 29:24Speaker 3: could do whatever he wanted to do. And so one
- 29:27Speaker 3: thousand percent. Nobody was going to step in and say, hey, Justin,
- 29:29Speaker 3: don't beatbox. So if you want to beatbox.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Justin Timberlake beatboxing with his ramen noodle hair and his
- 29:37Speaker 4: baggy jeans was just a moment. in time that I
- 29:40Speaker 4: will forever remember.
- 29:42Speaker 3: He had cornrows for a while too. I wasn't going
- 29:44Speaker 3: to bring it up.
- 29:45Speaker 4: That's why I said ramen noodle hair.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Maybe a misstep or two back there. There you go.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Today's Daily Double Tap.
