- 0:10Dunn. Right, the engineer who looks at
- 0:12ancient Egypt through a completely different lens.
- 0:14Exactly. We're going to unpack his
- 0:16perspective on ancient Egyptian technology, focusing on his
- 0:20ideas about the Great Pyramid and, you know, those incredibly
- 0:23precise artifacts he talks about.
- 0:25Yeah, the stuff that just doesn't seem to fit the standard
- 0:28timeline or toolkit. And for you, the learner, think
- 0:31of this as your shortcut to understanding a really complex
- 0:35but honestly fascinating viewpoint on our ancient past.
- 0:38And Dunn's background is key here.
- 0:40He wasn't an archaeologist or historian initially.
- 0:42He comes from precision manufacturing.
- 0:44OK, let's unpack that a bit. So he started as an apprentice
- 0:47right back in Manchester, England.
- 0:49Learned the trade from the ground up.
- 0:50Got his journeyman papers which means he was fully qualified in
- 0:54his craft. Then 1969 he gets recruited by
- 0:57an aerospace company over here in the US.
- 0:59Started out turning lathes, vertical, horizontal, boring
- 1:03mills, basically shaping metal with extreme precision.
- 1:07And then moved up, became a manufacturing engineer.
- 1:10And that practical, hands on experience, that's what he
- 1:13brings to looking at these ancient objects.
- 1:16He sees potential manufacturing, not just art or ritual items.
- 1:20Yeah, he's looking for tool marks, tolerances, things an
- 1:24engineer would look for, and this really kicked off for him
- 1:27after reading Peter Tompkins book Secrets of the Great
- 1:29Pyramid back in 77. Tompkins asked this question
- 1:32that really stuck with Dunn didn't.
- 1:33He he did. Does the Great Pyramid in sign a
- 1:36lost science? That was the question.
- 1:39And that sparked something. You know, it makes you wonder
- 1:41what assumptions we're making about the past.
- 1:43Are we maybe underestimating them?
- 1:45Right. And Dunn then digs into William
- 1:48Klender's Patri's work. Patri was like a pioneer
- 1:51Egyptologist, Meticulous. Guy and Patri documented things
- 1:55that sounded well advanced. Lathes massive core drills like
- 1:5918 inches wide. Even suggested circular saws.
- 2:02So imagine Dunn the engineer reading this.
- 2:05He's immediately thinking, OK, how?
- 2:06What kind of tech makes sense? Exactly.
- 2:08It's about the how. So his approach becomes very
- 2:11methodical. Measure everything, figure out
- 2:14the material. Look for those tool marks like
- 2:16reverse engineering a product. Which brings us straight to
- 2:20maybe one of the biggest points of contention, the core drill
- 2:24holes. Ah yes, we touched on this with
- 2:27Graham Hancock and Flint Dibble before.
- 2:29Dibbles idea was you know, maybe copper tools and sand as an
- 2:32abrasive. Simple stuff.
- 2:34But Done pushes back hard based on Petri's own observations,
- 2:39specifically a spiral groove on a granite core.
- 2:43Petri measured the pitch of this groove just 100th of an inch per
- 2:47revolution. Think about that.
- 2:49A screw thread, right? Every full turn, the drill bites
- 2:52deeper into solid granite by only 11 hundredth of an inch.
- 2:56Now compare that to modern tech Dunn, Actually, check this.
- 2:58Modern diamond drills spinning fast.
- 3:00They penetrate granite at maybe 21 thousandths of an inch per
- 3:04revolution. Yeah.
- 3:05So if Petri and Dunn are right. The ancient drill was cutting
- 3:08about 500 times faster. 500 times that's that's not just a
- 3:12little bit better, it's a different ball game entirely.
- 3:14And it wasn't a one off Patriot found similar grooves on
- 3:18multiple cores from different places.
- 3:20It looked like a standard result.
- 3:21Plus, more recently, 2018, a couple of aerospace engineers,
- 3:26Wilson and Geer. They examined 1 of Petrie scores
- 3:28#7 at the Museum in London. And using their modern know how
- 3:32they confirmed it, they saw the spiral.
- 3:34So modern engineers agreeing with Petrie's century old
- 3:38observations. Now there was a counter
- 3:41argument, right? Right.
- 3:42Ogilvy, Harold and Lawton. Yeah, they looked at photos and
- 3:45said no, it looks horizontal, not spiral.
- 3:48Which, you know, highlights a problem of using 2D photos for
- 3:503D analysis. Things can look different.
- 3:53Definitely. So Dunn went back himself to the
- 3:56museum. And did something really simple
- 3:58but clever. He took a piece of cotton
- 3:59thread. Just wrapped it around the core.
- 4:01Following the groove confirmed it.
- 4:03Continuous spiral. No doubt about it from his
- 4:05direct observation. So.
- 4:07That hands on check seems pretty definitive.
- 4:09The implications, though? What tech could do that
- 4:13thousands of years ago? It really forces you to question
- 4:16the standard model of ancient capabilities.
- 4:19Were they way more advanced in some areas than we think?
- 4:22OK, let's shift gears slightly. Another category of artifacts
- 4:25that Dunn focuses on the vases. And we're not talking simple
- 4:29clay pots here. These are carved from solid,
- 4:32incredibly hard stone. Granite, diarite.
- 4:36Igneous rock. Tough stuff.
- 4:40And the precision, it's stunning.
- 4:42Dunn talks about a 3D printed replica made from scans of an
- 4:45original vase. Near perfect symmetry tolerance
- 4:48is down to a few thousandths of an inch.
- 4:50That's well, in machining, that's basically perfect.
- 4:52And they have these intricate features, like handles carve
- 4:55right out of the solid stone block.
- 4:57Which totally blows the Potter's wheel explanation out of the
- 5:00water, right? How could you possibly do
- 5:02handles like that with that symmetry on a spinning wheel?
- 5:05And how did they hollow out the inside so accurately and measure
- 5:08it? Some have really narrow necks.
- 5:10Dunn mentions these run out tests on one vase they call the
- 5:13spinner, testing how true it spins.
- 5:16And the accuracy was within half the thickness of a human hair.
- 5:19Half a hair's thickness that's it's hard to even visualize that
- 5:22level of precision achieved back then.
- 5:24It's a huge challenge even with modern computer controlled
- 5:27machines, let alone supposed ancient hand tools.
- 5:32It does seem to highlight a potential disconnect maybe
- 5:35between practical engineering analysis and some traditional
- 5:40archaeological interpretations well.
- 5:42Yeah, the engineers want to measure precisely analyze the
- 5:46how, while sometimes archaeology might resist looking at purely
- 5:49as a manufacturing problem. And the usual explanations,
- 5:52copper tools, sand, they just don't seem adequate for this
- 5:55level of work in Hearthstone. The evidence for those tools
- 5:58doing this kind of job isn't really there.
- 6:00Which neatly leads us into Dunn's really big idea, the
- 6:04purpose of the Great Pyramid itself.
- 6:06Right. His first book, the Giza Power
- 6:08Plant back in 98, and he's refined it since then in Giza,
- 6:12the Tesla connection. His current idea is it was an
- 6:15electron harvester. Yeah, and it's crucial to
- 6:17understand what he means by power plant.
- 6:19He's not talking coal furnaces and smokestacks.
- 6:21No, nothing dirty. It's about tapping into natural
- 6:24energy, clean energy, harvesting electrons already present.
- 6:27He uses the analogy of a generator, right?
- 6:29A generator doesn't make electrons, it just organizes
- 6:32them, harvests them using magnetism in motion.
- 6:36So the pyramid, he thinks, did something similar, but using the
- 6:40Earth's energy on a massive scale.
- 6:42And his argument is that the entire design, its size,
- 6:46materials, internal chambers, shafts, everything points to
- 6:49this function. O the King's Chamber, The
- 6:51Queen's chamber. Maybe not burial spots, but
- 6:54functional parts of the machine. Functional terminology, yeah.
- 6:57And that original smooth limestone casing, now mostly
- 7:01gone. He thinks that was vital to
- 7:03maybe reflecting or focusing energy.
- 7:05Like a giant reflector dish. Possibly, yeah, Integral to the
- 7:08whole system's efficiency. OK, what about those shafts, the
- 7:11narrow ones leading out from the chambers, usually explained as
- 7:15ventilation or * alignments. Den sees them very differently.
- 7:18Crucial components take the Queens chamber shafts.
- 7:20They didn't originally go all the way out.
- 7:22They stopped inside the pyramid. Blocked by limestone until
- 7:25Wayman Dixon drilled through later.
- 7:27And the northern Queens chamber shaft.
- 7:31Its dimensions are weirdly close to a modern microwave waveguide.
- 7:36A waveguide like for guiding microwave energy.
- 7:38Exactly, and the dimensions seem resonant with the wavelength of
- 7:42hydrogen. OK, so what's the theory?
- 7:44Collecting ambient microwaves from space, like leftover Big
- 7:49Bang radiation or hydrogen signals.
- 7:52That's part of his hypothesis and the southern Queens chamber
- 7:55shaft. Maybe that was for introducing
- 7:57chemicals, perhaps to generate hydrogen inside the chamber.
- 8:00Well, OK, he even uses a civil engineering analogy about the
- 8:03limestone acting like a filter maintaining pressure for fluids
- 8:07in the shafts. Right, suggesting A controlled
- 8:09internal environment. And we have to mention Gantt
- 8:11Brinks robot Loopwat too, finding that that blocking stone
- 8:16with the metal fittings at the end of the Queen's chamber
- 8:18shaft. Nobody knows what those fittings
- 8:20are made of or for. Definitely adds to the mystery
- 8:23and suggests something more than ventilation.
- 8:25Now the King's Chamber shafts do go all the way to the outside.
- 8:28Right and done connects the whole system to the subterranean
- 8:30chamber way down below the pyramid.
- 8:33He thinks that could have been like a a coupled oscillator
- 8:37vibrating with the Earth. Yeah, kind of like Tesla's ideas
- 8:40about Earth resonance. Exactly.
- 8:42He pulls in research by Doctor Frank Freund on earthquake
- 8:44lights, too, The idea that stressed granite, like in the
- 8:48pyramid can release electrical charges, potentially electrons.
- 8:51So you've got maybe electromagnetic energy,
- 8:54microwaves, and mechanical energy vibrations.
- 8:56Involved combination, yes. So the northern King's chamber
- 9:00shaft brings in the microwave signal may be amplified.
- 9:03Hydrogen comes up from the Queen's chamber.
- 9:06And the King's Chamber itself acts like.
- 9:08What a resonator. Like a laser or a mazer cavity
- 9:11amplifying the energy. That's the analogy he uses,
- 9:14amplifying the energy. And the southern King's chamber
- 9:16shaft is the output, the power nozzle.
- 9:18He mentions its shape, right? Kind of bulbous.
- 9:20Yeah, he photographed it, and it looks remarkably like a
- 9:22microwave horn antenna. Even the bends in the northern
- 9:26King's chamber shaft. Yeah, he thinks they're
- 9:28deliberate, like a waveguide to shape the beam.
- 9:31Potentially yes, to make the microwave energy coherent as it
- 9:35enters the chamber. And the positioning where that
- 9:38northern shaft enters the King's chamber, it's at a specific
- 9:41point, 1/4 wave location. Right, which in physics is a key
- 9:46spot for maximizing energy in a resonant cavity.
- 9:49It suggests incredibly precise design it.
- 9:51Really does start to sound less like a tomb and more like a
- 9:54machine. The level of interconnected
- 9:56detail is compelling. Digesting purpose.
- 9:59And this all leads to the really wild idea wireless power.
- 10:03He connects it straight to Tesla Wardencliffe Tower, the dream of
- 10:07wireless electricity. Dunn suggests the pyramid, maybe
- 10:11with a gold capstone, could have done just that, transmitting
- 10:14energy wirelessly. Combining Freund's rock physics,
- 10:17Tesla's ideas. Wow.
- 10:19OK, so obviously these ideas are unconventional.
- 10:22How has mainstream archaeology reacted?
- 10:25Well, as you'd expect, there's been significant pushback, lots
- 10:28of debate. Dunn talks about feeling like
- 10:30engineers are expected to work under archaeologists rather than
- 10:33as peers applying their own science.
- 10:34Even though the tomb theory itself lacks A definitive proof
- 10:37like, you know, a pharaoh inside.
- 10:39Right. The tomb theory is still
- 10:41dominant, but Dunn made a smart move.
- 10:44He started talking directly to Egyptian engineers.
- 10:46Asking them to look at the evidence with their own
- 10:48expertise. Exactly.
- 10:50And he says he's seen a shift, especially among younger
- 10:53engineers in Egypt, who are more open to questioning the old
- 10:56explanations. He mentioned Ahmed Adley, an
- 10:59Egyptian engineer who's validated some of Dunn's points
- 11:02and even presented the power plant idea to physicists at
- 11:06Cairo University. That's a big deal.
- 11:08It shows the conversation is happening within Egypt too.
- 11:10And there's even a STEM class at the Grand Egyptian Museum now,
- 11:14with Adley exploring pyramid energy concepts.
- 11:17Yeah, that's fascinating. Kids actually doing experiments
- 11:19related to this could be a game changer down the line.
- 11:22Another point Dunn brings up is iron.
- 11:25We know Tudong Komen had that meteoric iron dagger around 1330
- 11:29BC. But Dunn highlights an iron
- 11:32plate found inside the Great Pyramid, potentially from when
- 11:35it was built much earlier, Which?
- 11:36Predates the accepted start of the Iron Age in Egypt around
- 11:391200 BC. So it suggests maybe they were
- 11:43using iron, perhaps meteoric iron, earlier than we thought,
- 11:46even if they weren't smelting it on a large scale yet.
- 11:48OK. Shifting again acoustics.
- 11:52This is really interesting. Sound engineers found the
- 11:54pyramid shafts resonate at a specific frequency.
- 11:57F Shock. Yeah, when wind blows across
- 11:59them. And apparently some ancient
- 12:01Egyptian texts link F shock to the Earth's resonant frequency.
- 12:05And that same note F Shab pops up in sacred flutes of some
- 12:09Native American shamans and even supposedly in human DNA.
- 12:13That's quite a coincidence, if it.
- 12:15Is 1 Tom Danley, the audio expert, measured vibrations
- 12:18inside the King's chamber, found it resonates even with
- 12:21everything off. And Dustin Carr, who made a nano
- 12:23guitar, did a computer simulation, A finite element
- 12:26analysis. Right.
- 12:26And it showed the whole pyramid resonates at about 16 Hertz
- 12:29infrasound below human hearing so.
- 12:32Again, it points to the pyramid as a dynamic structure
- 12:34interacting with vibrations and sound, not just a static
- 12:37monument. All these threads, the
- 12:39precision, the potential energy generation, the acoustics, they
- 12:42weave together into a picture that's hard to square with just
- 12:45ramps and copper chisels. Dunn even thinks the other
- 12:47pyramids might have been part of the system.
- 12:49Right. Different designs for different
- 12:51functions within one big energy grid.
- 12:54That's a speculation, and he draws parallels to things like
- 12:57the Marfa lights or Sedona Vortex's potential natural
- 13:00energy spots today. Maybe the pyramid tapped into
- 13:03something similar? Going back to that debate about
- 13:05ancient industry, Dunn mentioned monosize Saudi's research on
- 13:09lead levels in ice cores. Yeah, challenging the idea that
- 13:13significant lead pollution only started relatively recently.
- 13:16Safsada found lead spikes way back like 149,000 years ago.
- 13:21Which just adds another layer of complexity to dating ancient
- 13:24activity and its potential scale.

- 13:31drill spiral, the Scientists Against Myths paper Dunn had a
- 13:35strong counter. He pointed out they were mostly
- 13:37using 2D photos to analyze a 3D spiral groove.
- 13:40Which is fundamentally flawed geometrically.
- 13:43You can't accurately judge 3D shape from a single 2D view.
- 13:47You need direct measurement or proper 3D scanning.
- 13:50It feels like maybe there was a bias there, an attempt to
- 13:52disprove rather than objectively analyze.
- 13:55It's hard to say for sure, but the methodology seems
- 13:58questionable compared to Dunn's direct examination and.
- 14:01Briefly on Gabaglipe predating agriculture, Dunn suggested
- 14:06maybe they didn't need plant agriculture right away.
- 14:09Yeah, if they had advanced animal husbandry or just super
- 14:12abundant wild resources, maybe plant farming wasn't the
- 14:16immediate priority even while building monumental structures.
- 14:20It broadens how we think about early civilization.
- 14:23When you take it all in, the implications are just huge.
- 14:26If ancient people, Egyptians or someone else really did have
- 14:30clean energy tech. It changes everything about our
- 14:32view of history, progress and what's possible.
- 14:35And the idea that such knowledge could be lost, maybe in events
- 14:40like the Library of Alexandria burning, it's kind of tragic.
- 14:44And absolutely, how could such advanced understanding seemingly
- 14:46disappear or become a hidden from subsequent history?
