Speaker 3: Angie Gillenwater from the Canal charlest New Main Association is
• 2:51
Speaker 3: with us this morning. Angie, good morning, welcome to the show.
• 2:55
Speaker 3: Good morning, Thank you, for being here. Now got these
• 2:59
Speaker 3: pictures always posted on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and
• 3:03
Speaker 3: at Dave A seventy or the Dave Allen Show on
• 3:05
Speaker 3: X The artist formerly known as Twitter Danny is our
• 3:09
Speaker 3: dog this morning, and I get the feeling and texting
• 3:11
Speaker 3: with you last night, Angie, that Danny has a personal
• 3:15
Speaker 3: like kind of a close place in your heart. Is that?
• 3:17
  Speaker 3: Is that fair?
• 3:19
Speaker 5: That is true? Not only does Danny live in the
• 3:21
Speaker 5: office that I work in, so I work very closely
• 3:24
Speaker 5: with Danny, but he truly, truly is just the one
• 3:28
Speaker 5: of the most perfect dogs I've ever met.
• 3:30
Speaker 3: So what is it that makes Danny so perfect? I
• 3:33
Speaker 3: know he's a beautiful dog. To give us all the
• 3:35
  Speaker 3: details on.
• 3:35
Speaker 5: Danny, so he number one. He is smart, he knows it,
• 3:39
Speaker 5: lay down, shake. He's also house trained. He will let
• 3:43
Speaker 5: you know when he has to go out. He's very sweet.
• 3:46
Speaker 5: He only wants you to pet him and pay attention
• 3:49
Speaker 5: to him. Great with kids, Great with every other dog
• 3:52
Speaker 5: he's met, from puppies to adult cranky dogs. He's good
• 3:56
Speaker 5: with them all. He just is just the sweetest little dog.
• 4:00
Speaker 5: He was actually found at an elementary school, which I
• 4:03
Speaker 5: think is super cute.
• 4:04
Speaker 3: Anyway, Well, it's kind of like he was just going
• 4:06
Speaker 3: to you know, trying to find some kids, going hey,
• 4:09
Speaker 3: take me home with you.
• 4:10
Speaker 5: Just literally like he was just at the elementary school,
• 4:13
Speaker 5: greeting kids as they were walking in. And I just
• 4:14
Speaker 5: think that is so sweet.
• 4:16
Speaker 3: And if you look at the picture, and again I've
• 4:18
Speaker 3: got Danny's picture posted on my social media. If you
• 4:20
Speaker 3: look at the picture, I know, the first one of
• 4:22
Speaker 3: the first things you're going to notice about him and
• 4:23
Speaker 3: that picture that you took is he's got a big
• 4:25
Speaker 3: old tongue. But you were telling me he's not a
• 4:27
Speaker 3: slobber er, is that right?
• 4:30
Speaker 5: That is correct. Danny has lots of good manners. He's
• 4:33
Speaker 5: very neat and tidy. So no matter his size, the
• 4:36
Speaker 5: size of his tongue, his feet, all that, he is
• 4:38
Speaker 5: a very mannerly little man.
• 4:40
Speaker 3: And he just makes a great pet for somebody. And
• 4:43
Speaker 3: you said that, we don't don't really one hundred percent
• 4:46
Speaker 3: know how he would be with cats, but based on
• 4:48
Speaker 3: his personality, if you had to guess, and obviously you
• 4:50
Speaker 3: want to you want to err on the side of
• 4:52
Speaker 3: caution air, but probably going to be okay with cats,
• 4:54
Speaker 3: it's probably a pretty good guess. Is that right?
• 4:57
Speaker 5: Correct? He is so gentle and easy going and where
• 5:00
Speaker 5: he's friendly with all dogs of all sizes, he would
• 5:04
Speaker 5: likely be good with cats on a slow intro basis,
• 5:07
Speaker 5: but just on the air on the side of caution
• 5:09
  Speaker 5: with cats.
• 5:10
Speaker 3: Yeah. But Danny's pictures posted again and he looks like
• 5:13
Speaker 3: a tiger. Does he not look kind of look like
• 5:15
  Speaker 3: a tiger?
• 5:16
  Speaker 5: He certainly does.
• 5:17
Speaker 3: He's a great looking dog. And we'll get back to
• 5:20
Speaker 3: Danny here in a couple of moments. I'd like to
• 5:21
Speaker 3: get some updates on some things going on to the shelter.
• 5:23
Speaker 3: How are the numbers looking at the shelter right now, Angie?
• 5:27
Speaker 5: So yesterday when we left, we were up to around
• 5:29
Speaker 5: four hundred and twenty animals that we were taking care of,
• 5:32
Speaker 5: which is probably the highest number this year. But for
• 5:36
Speaker 5: every you know, every adoption we do, we have more
• 5:39
Speaker 5: animals coming in that need us. So we're happy to help,
• 5:42
Speaker 5: but we also need the public's help to continue to help.
• 5:45
Speaker 3: Indeed, talking with Angie Gill and water in for Hannah
• 5:48
Speaker 3: this week with our adopt me please put it the
• 5:50
Speaker 3: week getting some updates and some things going on to
• 5:51
Speaker 3: Cannon Charlesty Main Association. But Dave Alan showing five Idy

• 6:08
Speaker 3: type settings. Visapinnacle Corp dot net. Because what you don't
• 6:11
Speaker 3: know can't hurt you. What kind of stuff are we
• 6:13
Speaker 3: in need of at the shelter right now? As just
• 6:15
Speaker 3: the typical the washcloths, paper towels. What do we need so.
• 6:19
Speaker 5: We're always in need of cleaning supplies. Yesterday I was
• 6:22
Speaker 5: informed we are down to our last bottle of laundry
• 6:25
Speaker 5: detergent and then we are with four hundred and twenty animals.
• 6:29
Speaker 5: We are always in need of food, so Purina show
• 6:32
Speaker 5: products and any brand of wet.
• 6:33
Speaker 3: Food indeed, and you can just drop those things off
• 6:36
Speaker 3: during normal business hours at the shelter. You got this
• 6:39
Speaker 3: borrow of Buddy program I've been reading about on your
• 6:41
Speaker 3: social media. Talk about that.
• 6:44
Speaker 5: So the borrow buds program is perfect? Oh your okay?
• 6:47
Speaker 5: The Borrow Buddy program is perfect for people that want
• 6:50
Speaker 5: to help out, but can't you know, physically have a
• 6:52
Speaker 5: dog in their home. You quite literally get to come
• 6:55
Speaker 5: up to the shelter, take the dog of your pick,
• 6:57
Speaker 5: takes them out for the day, and then your obligations
• 6:59
Speaker 5: are on just before we close. So not only is
• 7:03
Speaker 5: it good for the person that's helping out, you get
• 7:06
Speaker 5: to you know, short term enjoyments of a dog, but
• 7:10
Speaker 5: also it's great for the animals. They get a day
• 7:12
Speaker 5: away from the shelter and someone on one time with
• 7:15
Speaker 5: a human. So we love the Borrow Buddy program. It's
• 7:18
Speaker 5: been super successful. And also as somebody that helps run
• 7:22
Speaker 5: the social media page for KHA, I am loving all
• 7:25
Speaker 5: the Facebook posts I read and all the pictures I
• 7:28
Speaker 5: see of people enjoying their borrow Buddy day.
• 7:30
Speaker 3: We have a question here for you for the text
• 7:32
Speaker 3: line Angie, it says the new proposed shelter will there
• 7:35
Speaker 3: be a lot more kimmels in cages than the current shelter.
• 7:39
Speaker 5: So that is the plan. We are hoping to increase
• 7:41
Speaker 5: what we can safely house. So once once those official
• 7:46
Speaker 5: blueprints come out and we actually start, you know, building
• 7:50
Speaker 5: the new shelter, I could give you a more definite answer,
• 7:53
Speaker 5: but the plan is to have a shelter that is
• 7:56
Speaker 5: up to the levels that we are working on right now.
• 7:58
Speaker 5: So just more upgraded things in that facility and more
• 8:03
Speaker 5: space in that facility.
• 8:05
Speaker 3: Indeed, you folks certainly you certainly needed. And also I
• 8:09
Speaker 3: was understand that Hannah and I touched on this a
• 8:12
Speaker 3: little bit that the Kegs for Canine events going to
• 8:15
Speaker 3: be happening soon September the fourteenth, two o'clock at the
• 8:17
Speaker 3: Red Carpet Lounge. Are tickets available for that yet?
• 8:21
Speaker 5: Yes, you can purchase tickets on our website. You can. Also,
• 8:24
Speaker 5: there are a lot of people that have had trouble
• 8:25
Speaker 5: purchasing those on the website. So if you can't get
• 8:28
Speaker 5: your particular internet service to work, we would be happy
• 8:31
Speaker 5: to you process that for you. At the shelter, you
• 8:34
Speaker 5: can come up and we can one hundred percent make
• 8:36
Speaker 5: it happen for you. You won't get a paper ticket,
• 8:39
Speaker 5: but you'll still have them and you will still be
• 8:41
Speaker 5: able to come and drink some beer with some dogs.
• 8:44
Speaker 3: Well we hope, hope the dogs aren't drinking beer, but
• 8:46
Speaker 3: there's always stories about those certain dogs out there. Quickly,
• 8:50
Speaker 3: before we let you go, I know there's a lot
• 8:51
Speaker 3: of Harley riders that are in town. I think there's
• 8:55
Speaker 3: the Big Hog Convention basically is going around going on
• 8:57
Speaker 3: around Charles and I've seen a lot of bikes and
• 8:59
Speaker 3: there doing some sort of a fundraiser. And I just
• 9:01
Speaker 3: caught the end of this on one of the television
• 9:03
Speaker 3: news programs. Thinks to doing some sort of a fundraiser
• 9:06
Speaker 3: for you guys, Is that right?
• 9:08
Speaker 5: Yeah, So that happens every year. They gather up some
• 9:11
Speaker 5: donations and then all the bikers drive all the donations
• 9:15
Speaker 5: up to the shelter, carry them in. Donation by donation,
• 9:18
Speaker 5: they get their picture made, they get to send a
• 9:20
Speaker 5: little bit of time Atkseyha. But it's something that we
• 9:23
Speaker 5: look forward to. It's kind of like the staple of
• 9:25
Speaker 5: AWE summer is ending hogs for dogs who is around
• 9:28
Speaker 5: the corner. So we are super thankful for them, and
• 9:31
Speaker 5: we always enjoy getting to see like just the joy
• 9:34
Speaker 5: on their faces whenever they bring those donations up to us.
• 9:37
Speaker 3: All right, Angie, I appreciate you jumping in there for
• 9:40
Speaker 3: handed today. We'll talk again soon. Thanks a lot, and
• 9:42
Speaker 3: just got to bless you off for everything you do
• 9:44
  Speaker 3: up there.
• 9:45
Speaker 5: Thank you so much for having me.
• 9:46
Speaker 3: Benjy gillenwater from the Canaal Charlesty Band Association. Again, Danny
• 9:50
Speaker 3: is our dog this week. Not to be confused with
• 9:52
Speaker 3: Danny Jones. Danny, I've got his picture Posted on Facebook
• 9:57
Speaker 3: and on the Dave Island Show on X the Artists
• 9:59
Speaker 3: for Really known as Twitter. Danny's two years old, around
• 10:01
Speaker 3: forty six pounds. Knows a lot of commands. He can scent,
• 10:04
Speaker 3: he can lay down, he can shake, loves to cuddle,
• 10:07
Speaker 3: very very neat dog, great with kids. I was not
• 10:10
Speaker 3: aware of that. Toy Angie just told me that he
• 10:12
Speaker 3: actually was taken in from an elementary school when he
• 10:16
Speaker 3: was greeting the kids as they were going into the school.
• 10:19
Speaker 3: How cool is that the dog is completely housebroken, more
• 10:23
Speaker 3: than likely would be fine with cats based on his personality,
• 10:26
Speaker 3: but always you want to err on the side of caution.
• 10:28
Speaker 3: Just an all around great dog. I'm telling you. If
• 10:30
Speaker 3: we've ever and I say this from time to time
• 10:32
Speaker 3: about the dogs we feature on the Adopt Me Please
• 10:34
Speaker 3: Pet of the Week, if there's one that may be
• 10:36
Speaker 3: the perfect dog, this may be the perfect dog. Again,
• 10:41
Speaker 3: how I mean zero red flags? Go please, somebody go
• 10:44

Speaker 3: have joined us. We have with us Martin from Panhandle Restoration.
• 15:44
Speaker 3: Good morning, sir. How are you.
• 15:46
Speaker 10: I'm doing great? How are you?
• 15:47
Speaker 3: I am fine? Thank you for being here, sir. So
• 15:50
Speaker 3: why is this important for Panhandle to get involved in those.
• 15:52
  Speaker 11: It's important because I mean it's it's in the state
• 15:55
Speaker 11: of West Virginia. It means that the kids don't have
• 15:58
  Speaker 11: to leave West Virginia. It's it's it's important because it's
• 16:02
Speaker 11: important to the owners of Panhandle.
• 16:06
Speaker 3: Tell us what Panhandle does exactly. So we do we do.
• 16:09
Speaker 11: We do firewater, mold damage, we do rebuilds. We have

  Speaker 11: on the rebuilt.
• 16:16
Speaker 3: And you guys are all over the stay man, I
• 16:19
Speaker 3: mean all over with the.
• 16:20
Speaker 11: Largest restoration company in West Virginia.
• 16:22
Speaker 3: Okay, And what's a typical day like for you folks?
• 16:27
Speaker 11: Just answering calls, going out doing water damage, storm damage. Uh,
• 16:32
  Speaker 11: It's it's always busy.
• 16:34
Speaker 3: I can imagine. I mean, unfortunately in West Virginia we
• 16:37
Speaker 3: have some issues with flooding and things of that nature
• 16:39
Speaker 3: that probably takes up a lot of your time, A
• 16:41
Speaker 3: lot of time. Yeah. And when you go in for
• 16:43
Speaker 3: a consultation on that, I mean, how does that do you?
• 16:46
Speaker 3: Is it the insurance company contacting you or do you
• 16:48
Speaker 3: the individual? How does it work on just on an
• 16:50
Speaker 3: average case, On an.
• 16:51
Speaker 11: Average case, yes, Usually the insurance company will reach out
• 16:53
Speaker 11: to us, tell us they've got something going on. We'll
• 16:56
Speaker 11: go meet with the homeowner, go over everything that needs
• 16:58
Speaker 11: to be done, and just get it done.
• 17:01
Speaker 3: How many employees do you have in West Virginia?
• 17:03
Speaker 11: Right in West Virginia, Oh yeah, or wherever the whole company?
• 17:06
Speaker 11: I think it's like, I think it's one hundred and fifty,
• 17:08
Speaker 11: one hundred and sixty employees down here in Charleston. That's
• 17:11
  Speaker 11: fifteen of us.
• 17:12
Speaker 3: Uh huh. And I have to ask you, and you've
• 17:15
Speaker 3: probably heard this from time to time. You ain't from
• 17:17
  Speaker 3: around here.
• 17:19
  Speaker 10: No, I'm not.
• 17:20
  Speaker 11: I'm from Ireland.
• 17:21
Speaker 3: Okay, So how does somebody from Ireland did up here?
• 17:24
  Speaker 10: Uh?
• 17:24
Speaker 11: Panhala made me enough?
• 17:25
Speaker 3: Or I couldn't refuse it sounds a little bit for both.
• 17:30
Speaker 3: All right, give us a website, phone number or whatever
• 17:34
Speaker 3: you want to go out there social media where people
• 17:36
Speaker 3: can get in touch with it.
• 17:37
Speaker 11: It's just ww dot panhandlttle dot com. For the website,
• 17:40
Speaker 11: you can call six eight one eight three three one

• 17:44
Speaker 3: All right, Martin, we appreciate you being here, man, thanks
• 17:46
Speaker 3: a lot, thank you. All right, Panhandle Restoration again, they're
• 17:49
Speaker 3: one of our partners here. And again, if you want
• 17:51
Speaker 3: to get involved, you could text the word kids to
• 17:53
Speaker 3: three five sixty five one or call eight seven seven
• 17:55
Speaker 3: seven one nine kids. And again, our title sponsor for
• 17:59
Speaker 3: this thing is the Great Folks. To add in the
• 18:00
Speaker 3: folks in Styke Wealth Enhancement. So I appreciate we all
• 18:03
Speaker 3: appreciate them being a part of it as well. All right,
• 18:06
Speaker 3: so let's continue on. We got a couple more folks
• 18:08
Speaker 3: in studio with us. I forgot who I said was
• 18:10
Speaker 3: going to go first? Was it you or was it you?
• 18:11
Speaker 3: I don't remember it was go ahead, give us your
• 18:14
Speaker 3: name in your company.
• 18:15
Speaker 12: Hi, my name is Kevin Jennings. I'm with Poka Valley Bank.
• 18:17
Speaker 3: All Right, you folks at Poka Valley do a lot
• 18:20
Speaker 3: of stuff, a lot of stuff in the community. I
• 18:23
Speaker 3: mean you're to be commended for that, but specifically with this, Kevin,
• 18:27
Speaker 3: what was it that made you guys want to get
• 18:28
  Speaker 3: involved in this?
• 18:29
Speaker 12: Well, again, we're a community bank, so we're involved in
• 18:32
Speaker 12: every aspect of all the children, all the kids in
• 18:36
Speaker 12: each of our communities. But again, WVU having a facility
• 18:41
Speaker 12: where our children can stay in the state to get
• 18:43
Speaker 12: the medical treatment they need is very important to us.
• 18:47
  Speaker 3: And again I think it's a testament. I mean, just
• 18:50
Speaker 3: what you folks do, because there's not an event or
• 18:53
Speaker 3: a cause pretty much in the Canal Valley region and
• 18:57
Speaker 3: beyond that, you don't see you folks being a just
• 19:01
Speaker 3: being a part of it.
• 19:02
Speaker 12: Yeah, we tried to get heavily involved. And again, we
• 19:05
Speaker 12: we believe relationships matter, so we try to develop that relationship.
• 19:09
Speaker 12: And uh, sometimes that means giving good support to good causes.
• 19:14
Speaker 3: All right, I'm giving you the opportunity to sell the
• 19:15
Speaker 3: bank a little bit. I mean, what is it that
• 19:17
  Speaker 3: so there's there's there's a ton of banks out there.
• 19:20
Speaker 3: What is it that sets yours apart?
• 19:22
Speaker 12: It has to be our customer service. We get to
• 19:24
Speaker 12: know you as an individual and as a person. It's
• 19:27
Speaker 12: not just about an account number with us, It's about
• 19:30
Speaker 12: knowing who you are and being able to meet all
• 19:33
Speaker 12: of your financial needs.
• 19:35
Speaker 3: And over the last couple of years, I mean, you know,
• 19:37
Speaker 3: I'm an old guy, so I remember growing up when
• 19:40
Speaker 3: all the banks, all the all the banks were community
• 19:42
Speaker 3: you know, it was, you know, no matter fill in
• 19:44
Speaker 3: the city here, bank and trust or whatever. You know
• 19:46
Speaker 3: that They're just not just not that way anymore. There's
• 19:48
Speaker 3: just so many, you know, many cases national corporations that
• 19:52
Speaker 3: have come in and I'm not knocking them. They do
• 19:54
Speaker 3: what they do, but there is an advantage to dealing
• 19:56
Speaker 3: with with with local folks.
• 19:58
Speaker 12: Yeah, that's correct. I mean, our president is very accessible.
• 20:02
Speaker 12: She's located in Walton, uh and we have customers come
• 20:06
Speaker 12: in all the time and go straight into the president's office.
• 20:09
Speaker 12: And you just don't see that in the larger banks.
• 20:11
Speaker 12: But that's understandably so. But they're you know, a lot
• 20:14
Speaker 12: of their corporate offices are out of state. But we
• 20:17
Speaker 12: were very local, we can make local decisions and we
• 20:21
Speaker 12: just love serving our community.
• 20:23
Speaker 3: And these are the type people that you see at
• 20:25
Speaker 3: the ballgames or the churches or the grocery store. It's
• 20:27
Speaker 3: it's local, local people correct. Something to be said for that. So, Kevin,
• 20:31
Speaker 3: appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot, and thanks for
• 20:34
Speaker 3: your commitment of not only you, but all of your employees,
• 20:37
Speaker 3: uh that that have helped to make this thing a success.
• 20:40
Speaker 3: I appreciate you being here.
• 20:41
Speaker 12: Well, thanks so much. It was our pleasure and we
• 20:43
Speaker 12: hope this does a great job. And if you're listening
• 20:46
Speaker 12: and you're able to contribute, contribute to the calls.
• 20:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, and again this is speaking of local. I mean
• 20:51
Speaker 3: that's the you know, we're a West Virginia based media company,
• 20:53
Speaker 3: which is very very rare. It seems there's not a
• 20:57
Speaker 3: whole lot of West Virginia based media companies here any more.
• 21:00
Speaker 3: We are, and we're dealing with you know, WVU Children's
• 21:04
Speaker 3: so we're trying to keep it local as much as possible. Kevin,
• 21:06
Speaker 3: I appreciate you being here. Man, great to meet you. Thanks,
• 21:08
Speaker 3: thank you. But Dave Island showing five Eddie Livee presented
• 21:10

• 21:13

• 21:16
Speaker 3: visit General Hardware WV dot com. We got another one
• 21:19
Speaker 3: of our community partners in here from the business world. Hey,
• 21:21
Speaker 3: weren't you just here last week?
• 21:23
Speaker 13: I was, and it's really hard to go on after
• 21:25
Speaker 13: Kevin there. That's they do a lot of stuff.
• 21:28
Speaker 3: Sean is here from from Trojan Landing. Now, you were
• 21:31
Speaker 3: here last week and he had a big announcement for
• 21:33
Speaker 3: us that you guys are going to get into the
• 21:35
Speaker 3: bike business. A little bit of a delay in that
• 21:38
Speaker 3: form one understanding nothing that you really can control. Talk
• 21:41
Speaker 3: about that a little now.
• 21:42
Speaker 13: We have a little bit of an insurance delay. But
• 21:44
Speaker 13: in the meantime we've we opened up our what we
• 21:49
Speaker 13: call the Marina Mart. We now have a little tiny
• 21:51
Speaker 13: convenience store there on property to go along with the
• 21:54
Speaker 13: food truck. So in the evenings if people just need
• 21:58
Speaker 13: a little bit of chips, drinks, things like that, there,
• 22:01
Speaker 13: we got a little store right there on the corner
• 22:03
Speaker 13: of the property that you can get in and get
• 22:05
  Speaker 13: out really quick.
• 22:06
Speaker 3: Guys, they're kind of constantly reinventing yourselves in there. Yeah,
• 22:09
Speaker 3: I mean not reinventing, but just adding adding, because you
• 22:12
Speaker 3: did the food truck and the whole deal.
• 22:14
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 22:15
Speaker 13: So now with the little Marina Mark, we have uh.
• 22:17
Speaker 3: That's a cool name, Marina Mark.
• 22:21
Speaker 13: Yeah, and it even has we have an online feature
• 22:23
Speaker 13: where you can go on and order online and just
• 22:25
Speaker 13: pick it up whenever you swing through, pay for it
• 22:28
  Speaker 13: online and everything.
• 22:29
Speaker 3: So, I mean, I guess the idea from that just
• 22:31
Speaker 3: came from simply convenience, right.
• 22:32
  Speaker 10: Yeah, convenience.
• 22:33
Speaker 13: Uh well, we were deluted for the right customers to
• 22:36
Speaker 13: go over the hill. We started putting ice in their boats,
• 22:40
Speaker 13: and we just wanted to go on from that. So
• 22:43
Speaker 13: now they can a lot of our you know, main
• 22:46
Speaker 13: customers can come in order chips, sodas, gatorades and we
• 22:52
Speaker 13: can have that in the boat with their ice, and
• 22:54
Speaker 13: uh then we side to open it up to the public.
• 22:57
Speaker 3: All right, So why get involved in something like this.
• 23:00
  Speaker 10: It's about kids.
• 23:01
Speaker 13: I mean, there's a lot of unfortunate kids out there
• 23:04
Speaker 13: that have to deal with stuff they shouldn't have to
• 23:06
Speaker 13: deal with at their age and anything that, you know,
• 23:09
Speaker 13: even for us, I mean, we're a very family centric business.
• 23:13
Speaker 13: I mean, the owners are in every day, including myself
• 23:19
Speaker 13: just you know, being accessible to our employees and their families, and.
• 23:25
Speaker 10: You know, in the way that everybody.
• 23:28
Speaker 13: Can walk up and talk to any of us, and
• 23:32
Speaker 13: but we know what's going on with their family, you know,
• 23:34
Speaker 13: because I you know, I had an employee who recently
• 23:37
Speaker 13: has had to take his kid to Kentucky and do
• 23:40
Speaker 13: some things, and you know, we try to support everybody
• 23:43
  Speaker 13: we can. And it's like I said, it's it's very
• 23:46
Speaker 13: unfortunate these kids have to go through this. And what's
• 23:49
Speaker 13: great about this is just like Kevin said, it's it's here.
• 23:52
Speaker 13: It's local. It's the kids in our community just as
• 23:55
Speaker 13: much as is the kids in any other community. But
• 23:58
Speaker 13: we're able to see a direct impact.
• 24:00
Speaker 3: So as we start sewing to transition into the fall months,
• 24:05
Speaker 3: what changes at Trojan Landing as we head into the
• 24:07
Speaker 3: fall months, What does that look like for you?
• 24:10
Speaker 13: Well, we're gonna switch from putting your boat in the
• 24:13
Speaker 13: water to putting your boat in storage and start getting
• 24:16
Speaker 13: your you know, basically getting the machines wrapped up for
• 24:20
Speaker 13: the wintertime. So we'll be even more busy on the
• 24:24
Speaker 13: ground than we have been throughout the summer.
• 24:27
Speaker 3: All right, Well, Shawn, I appreciate you and the folks
• 24:30
Speaker 3: from PoCA Valley and also this is the ones we've
• 24:33
Speaker 3: had on today, and also from Panhandle for stopping by
• 24:35
Speaker 3: the studio this morning. I know, we were kind of
• 24:37
Speaker 3: giving you all the rounds going to all their stations.
• 24:39
Speaker 3: This is something we have very few events in this
• 24:41
Speaker 3: company that all of the stations across the state. I mean,
• 24:44
Speaker 3: what you're hearing here and Charleston is also going on
• 24:47
Speaker 3: in Morgantown. We got a couple of our people here
• 24:49
Speaker 3: in Charleston. Rob Reel from ninety six one KWS is
• 24:52
Speaker 3: actually in Morgantown at the hospital right now. Jenny Murray
• 24:56
Speaker 3: from V one hundred is also at the hospital right now.
• 24:58
Speaker 3: So this is a company wide it's what you do
• 25:01
Speaker 3: when you're West Virginia.
• 25:01
Speaker 13: People met, that's right, And it's amazing what you guys
• 25:03
Speaker 13: are doing. I mean, this is and we talk about
• 25:06
Speaker 13: the Saint Judes and things of the world, but you know,
• 25:08
Speaker 13: when you can directly impact your local communities, that's amazing.
• 25:12
Speaker 3: Oh, we had a great relationship for years with Saint Jews,
• 25:14
Speaker 3: but we decided to make the decision to try to
• 25:16
Speaker 3: keep it a little bit more locally. They still do
• 25:18
Speaker 3: great things. Nothing negative about them whatsoever. We just kind
• 25:21
Speaker 3: of want to keep it in state. Hey, Sean, want
• 25:23
Speaker 3: to have you back on when when we're ready to
• 25:25
Speaker 3: talk bikes again. I want to be back on all right, Sean.
• 25:28
Speaker 3: We'll let you go.
• 25:29
  Speaker 10: Man.
• 25:29
Speaker 3: I know you got stuff to do. It's Friday, so
• 25:30
Speaker 3: get out there and do what you do. Sean Hardman
• 25:34
Speaker 3: from Church and Landon and I appreciate you being here, buddy.
• 25:35

• 30:12
Speaker 3: I want to hear all about Shila Leftard, show me
• 30:14
  Speaker 3: all about you.
• 30:14
Speaker 18: Oh my gosh, there's too much to tell A one
• 30:16
Speaker 18: little show, but well I should say one big show.
• 30:19
Speaker 18: But I will be singing with Shine this week, one
• 30:22
Speaker 18: of my absolute favorite bands to ever ever play with.
• 30:24
Speaker 18: We do some classic rock and some old school, a
• 30:28
Speaker 18: little new stuff, something everybody will like.
• 30:31
Speaker 3: Now, where are you from here? Local A?
• 30:32
Speaker 18: Well, I live here, but I am originally from Oakland, California.
• 30:36
Speaker 3: Okay, how does one end up here from Oakland, California?
• 30:39
Speaker 18: Well, one ends up here because my father is born
• 30:41
Speaker 18: and raised here. I wanted to come back to school.
• 30:43
Speaker 18: It is really nice living here. I love living here.
• 30:46
Speaker 18: I love the weather, I love the seasons, I love
• 30:49
Speaker 18: the cost of living. And then you go to school
• 30:51
Speaker 18: for one hundred years and I'm actually working on a
• 30:54
Speaker 18: doctorate here, so I'll be staying here.
• 30:56
  Speaker 8: Cool.
• 30:56
Speaker 3: So when you were growing up and what age did
• 30:59
  Speaker 3: you start singing?
• 31:00
Speaker 18: Oh gosh, I've been singing ever since I can remember.
• 31:02
Speaker 18: I think my first canal straight out. My mom can sing,
• 31:05
Speaker 18: my dad can sing. You know, church is one of
• 31:07
Speaker 18: those things that inspires you to get better. Sure, mom
• 31:10
Speaker 18: and dad did it, Shela did it?
• 31:12
Speaker 3: What were you listening to growing up?
• 31:14
  Speaker 19: Now?
• 31:14
  Speaker 18: That's a funny one because I have a mom and
• 31:17
Speaker 18: dad and stepdad. Mama liked old school like Motown. Dad
• 31:23
Speaker 18: liked old School R and B. Stepdad liked rock so
• 31:27
Speaker 18: Creden's Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd. So those were the things
• 31:31
Speaker 18: that were a little interesting to see the little brown
• 31:34
Speaker 18: girl singing. But I think I do pretty good.
• 31:38
Speaker 3: How So how did you hook up of these folks
• 31:40
Speaker 3: that shine? You said you liked it.
• 31:41
Speaker 18: You know, I've sung with a lot of bands here.
• 31:43
Speaker 18: I've sung with a lot of really really good musicians here.
• 31:46
Speaker 18: I had my own band, Hybrid Soul. I've sung with
• 31:48
Speaker 18: Bob Thompson, I've sung with Stratus, and they were all
• 31:51
Speaker 18: bands that I respect and people I love. However, Dennis Harmeson,
• 31:54
  Speaker 18: who's over at Banker's Life, I mean just a heck
• 31:57
Speaker 18: of a guy. He had heard me and was looking
• 31:59
Speaker 18: for a singer, and he stalked me quite honestly for
• 32:03
Speaker 18: two years and kept saying, Hey, I need you to
• 32:05
Speaker 18: sing in this band.
• 32:06
Speaker 3: I was like, at what point does this become a crime.
• 32:08
Speaker 18: Yeah, So a friend of mine finally said, look, there's
• 32:11
Speaker 18: this guy and he keeps asking me about you for
• 32:13
Speaker 18: two years. He's like, I'm gonna get this girl to
• 32:15
Speaker 18: be my singer, and finally I met with him and
• 32:17
Speaker 18: he offered me a lot of money to sing for him.
• 32:19
Speaker 3: So well, there he go. And Cody Wilson is also
• 32:21
Speaker 3: going to be performing tomorrow night. Is that Aron?
• 32:23
Speaker 18: We have a really great lineup. I hope a lot
• 32:25
Speaker 18: of people come. Last year was phenomenal. The musicians are
• 32:29
Speaker 18: fantastic and I'm really proud to be doing this for
• 32:32
  Speaker 18: the third year.
• 32:32
Speaker 3: Okay, now this is all happening to Bogies Driving Range
• 32:35
Speaker 3: of Tornado. We get the folks from Bogeys with us.
• 32:38
Speaker 3: Once you guys introduced yourself to the audience, Please not
• 32:41
  Speaker 3: everybody at once.
• 32:42
Speaker 10: Yeah, that's I'm Manger Ford and Jay Nelson.
• 32:44
Speaker 3: Okay, So tell us about Bogies for people that aren't
• 32:47
  Speaker 3: familiar with it.
• 32:48
  Speaker 4: Uh. Yeah.
• 32:48
Speaker 20: We're the Driving Range and barbecue restaurant out in Tornado,
• 32:52
Speaker 20: right outside Saint Albans. This is year seven out there
• 32:55
Speaker 20: for us, and we're a little live entertainment venue and
• 33:00
Speaker 20: little spots for family and animals and dogs and anything
• 33:06
Speaker 20: you want goes out of Bogey's.
• 33:08
Speaker 3: So why why did you guys decide to do these?
• 33:10
Speaker 3: So this is the third year that you've done this
• 33:11
Speaker 3: is that right? I mean, so what what what went
• 33:13
Speaker 3: in a decision to do this?
• 33:14
Speaker 21: Well, we had tried before in the past to do
• 33:17
Speaker 21: like a concert series and have several events, four or
• 33:20
Speaker 21: five lined up over the course of time, and then
• 33:23
Speaker 21: we got with Denny, we got with Cody Shyla and
• 33:29
Speaker 21: decided to put together just one big end of the
• 33:32
Speaker 21: summer bash and put all of our focus into that,
• 33:35
Speaker 21: and it's just kind of blossomed into this.
• 33:37
Speaker 10: It's really turned out really nice.
• 33:39
Speaker 3: Now Bogie's, you know, it's the name is Bogie's Driving Range. However,
• 33:42
Speaker 3: you guys are just about You're known just as much
• 33:45
Speaker 3: for your food as anything else. And were you not
• 33:48
Speaker 3: voted the best hot dogs in West Virginia?
• 33:51
  Speaker 10: West Virginia.
• 33:52
Speaker 3: What makes the hot dogs there so good? Because I've
• 33:54
Speaker 3: never had one, So tell me what what makes them
• 33:55
  Speaker 3: so good?
• 33:56
  Speaker 5: Well?
• 33:56
Speaker 20: No, Well, we do everything fresh. Everything in our whole
• 33:59
Speaker 20: menu is home made. Everything is over a wood fire.
• 34:02
Speaker 20: So we smoked the chili, we roast the hot dog
• 34:05
Speaker 20: on a wood fire.
• 34:06
Speaker 3: And the way God intended.
• 34:07
  Speaker 10: That's right, that's right, right, I'll be that's right.
• 34:10
Speaker 20: So we we make everything from scratch and we just
• 34:13
Speaker 20: take a lot of pride and quality and making everything good.
• 34:16
Speaker 3: So in addition to the music and the food, what
• 34:18
Speaker 3: else you got going on out there tomorrow?
• 34:20
Speaker 20: Oh, we've got all kinds We've got I'm looking at you.
• 34:23
Speaker 3: You got water slides, and you've got fireworks and games.
• 34:26
Speaker 20: Yeah, we got we make you the star entertainments out
• 34:28
Speaker 20: there with the three sixty photo booth. We've got crafts
• 34:31
Speaker 20: of the cold ice cream truck will be out there
• 34:33
Speaker 20: for the kids. We got the quantums, got blow ups, coming,
• 34:36
  Speaker 20: water slides.
• 34:37
Speaker 10: It's gonna be a good time.
• 34:38
Speaker 3: Now, what's the price of admission?
• 34:40
Speaker 20: Twenty five dollars for adults, It gets you the buffet
• 34:43
Speaker 20: and access to all the all the fun, and fifteen
• 34:46
Speaker 20: for kids and that still gets you everything as well.
• 34:49
Speaker 3: All right, So what sounds like it's going to be
• 34:51
Speaker 3: a lot of fun. And we're so looking forward to
• 34:53
Speaker 3: hearing you and the and the music out there tomorrow.
• 34:56
Speaker 18: And can I just say what I loved about this event?
• 34:58
Speaker 18: And I kept asking Dan, are we gonna do that again?
• 35:00
Speaker 18: We're gonna do that again? Is because you look out there.
• 35:02
Speaker 18: I'm standing up on that stage, and I see kids,
• 35:05
  Speaker 18: I see grandma's, I see uncles, I see you know,
• 35:08
Speaker 18: Jim Bob, I see you know, everybody's out there and
• 35:11
Speaker 18: they're all having a good old time. They're all having
• 35:14
Speaker 18: a good old time. But even my mother, who is
• 35:17
Speaker 18: a snowbird, she said, are we doing that one gig again?
• 35:20
Speaker 18: Are you going to take me to that? Because they
• 35:22
Speaker 18: had good food, that's what you said yesterday she had,
• 35:25
Speaker 18: they had great food. And I said, yep, we'll be
• 35:26
Speaker 18: doing that. And I'm telling you just seeing everybody together,
• 35:30
Speaker 18: all ages, all kinds of people is beautiful.
• 35:32
  Speaker 3: And I mentioned earlier, I said, I don't want to
• 35:34
Speaker 3: rush the season, but I said, it's kind of an
• 35:36
Speaker 3: end of summer bash. But we're a week away from
• 35:38
Speaker 3: Labor Day. People. Football season starts, you know, next week
• 35:41
Speaker 3: in the Mountaineers Marshall NFL here in a couple of weeks,

• 43:22
Speaker 22: you're going on vacation.
• 43:23
Speaker 3: Lt I got to get it all in somewhere this time,
• 43:27
Speaker 3: in about forty eight hours, I'm going to be on
• 43:29
Speaker 3: a beach set of undisclosure location. Kerrie, nice to meet you,
• 43:32
Speaker 3: very nice to meet you as well. And you are
• 43:33
Speaker 3: the new executive director of the Canawa County CVB.
• 43:36
Speaker 19: And very excited about it.
• 43:37
Speaker 3: I am very familiar with CVB's because I'm part of
• 43:40
Speaker 3: the CVB and Putnam County where I live. So but
• 43:43
Speaker 3: for those that don't know, and I get this a
• 43:44
Speaker 3: lot people ask me what exactly does a Convention and
• 43:47
Speaker 3: Visitors Bureau do talk about?
• 43:49
  Speaker 2: That.
• 43:49
Speaker 19: Yeah, we support the local community in our area. We
• 43:52
Speaker 19: support the businesses, the hotels, and we really promote and
• 43:56
Speaker 19: want to inspire people to come to our area to
• 43:58
Speaker 19: enjoy all that we have to offer and to get
• 44:00
Speaker 19: back to our community.
• 44:01
Speaker 3: And of course Tim Brady does a great job with
• 44:03
Speaker 3: the Charleston CVB. But you know sometimes, and we see
• 44:07
Speaker 3: this in Putnam County. There's the Hurricane Group, and there's
• 44:09
Speaker 3: also because there's more than just the City of Charleston
• 44:11
Speaker 3: in Kanawa County. Tim does a fantastic job with that,
• 44:14
Speaker 3: but there's I mean, we just had to focus from
• 44:16
Speaker 3: Bogey's on that out in Tornado. You got things going
• 44:18
Speaker 3: on all over, which is why the commission president is here.
• 44:21
Speaker 3: But you've got a big old county to promote, and we're.
• 44:24
Speaker 19: Super excited about it. And we're excited to promote our
• 44:26
Speaker 19: county and really celebrate them and do what Tim has
• 44:29
Speaker 19: been able to do in the City of Charleston, Tim
• 44:31
Speaker 19: and Jama, we are really excited to do that in
• 44:34
  Speaker 19: our county.
• 44:36
Speaker 3: Commissioner. I had the opportunity on Wednesday to attend a
• 44:38
Speaker 3: summit at Valley Park in the Hurricane and it focused
• 44:41
Speaker 3: on tourism. People there from Kanawha, Putnam Cable all there.
• 44:45
Speaker 3: As I said, I'm a part of the Putnam County CVB,
• 44:47
Speaker 3: among other things. The State Commission Tourism Commissioner Chelsea Ruby
• 44:51
Speaker 3: was there. It was a packed house out there, and
• 44:53
Speaker 3: I think the bottom line that came from it is
• 44:57
Speaker 3: what's good for Putnam County, good for Kanaal, and what's
• 45:01
Speaker 3: good for Cabal this whole kind of advantage valley type thing.
• 45:03
Speaker 3: But another takeaway from it is that people are getting
• 45:06
Speaker 3: the message that tourism in West Virginia is the future.
• 45:09
  Speaker 10: Yeah. Absolutely.
• 45:10
Speaker 22: I mean, obviously we want to make sure that with
• 45:13
Speaker 22: the state and the county, we're taking care of all
• 45:14
Speaker 22: of our industries for workforce, but tourism is the low
• 45:18
Speaker 22: hanging fruit that we're seeing with our county government. I mean,
• 45:21
Speaker 22: look at Shawne Sports Complex, how important and how successful
• 45:25
Speaker 22: that's been in bringing so many people from out of
• 45:27
Speaker 22: state out of the area right here into Kannall County.
• 45:30
Speaker 22: They're going to our mom and pop shops, They're supporting
• 45:32
Speaker 22: the economy, making more jobs. They're going to the restaurants,
• 45:36
Speaker 22: which is increasing more amenities for our locals. I mean,
• 45:39
Speaker 22: this is really the next future of Kannall County is
• 45:42
Speaker 22: looking at tourism, and I think the County Commission is
• 45:45
Speaker 22: very proud of the projects that we've been supporting and
• 45:47
Speaker 22: the ones that we're announcing. I think that we're going
• 45:49
Speaker 22: to really see an opportunity. Nothing to hold from Putnam County,
• 45:52
Speaker 22: but I think that, you know, Kannaal County is on
• 45:54
Speaker 22: the verge of really becoming a focal point of the
• 45:57
Speaker 22: state of tourism. I think we have the infrastructure to
• 45:59
Speaker 22: do that. I think we have the community, the people
• 46:02
Speaker 22: to do that, and I think we have the opportunity
• 46:04
Speaker 22: and we're kind of starting to see that with our
• 46:05
  Speaker 22: outdoor recreation.
• 46:07
Speaker 3: It's about to get even bigger with the Hatfield McCoy Trail. Now,
• 46:09
Speaker 3: I'll give you a little bit of background info on
• 46:11
Speaker 3: the Hatfil McCoy Trail. I set in on some of
• 46:13
Speaker 3: the first meetings of the nineteen nineties in Logan County
• 46:17
Speaker 3: when the hat Film McCoy Trail was first being discussed,
• 46:20
Speaker 3: and there was a lot of skepticism about it. You know,
• 46:22
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie because people thought, well, why nobody's
• 46:24
Speaker 3: going to come here to ride these trails. The trails
• 46:26
Speaker 3: we've been on in the mountains for years. We can't take. Boy,
• 46:29
Speaker 3: we're a lot of people wrong because it has brought
• 46:32
Speaker 3: millions of dollars into not only southern West Virginia, but
• 46:36
Speaker 3: now it's expanding including Kanawah County.
• 46:38
Speaker 22: Now, let me tell you as somebody who's a native
• 46:41
Speaker 22: to Kanaal County, was born and raised in the Saint Albans,
• 46:43
Speaker 22: live in Charleston now now sitting as a commissioned president,
• 46:46
Speaker 22: we have been jealous of the southern West Virginia for
• 46:50
Speaker 22: having hat Film McCoy trails, and it's been a topic
• 46:54
Speaker 22: with our leaders here of how do we get hatfil
• 46:56
Speaker 22: McCoy to Kanall County. You know, there's always the challenges
• 46:59
Speaker 22: of the terrain. You have to have a parcel big enough.
• 47:02
Speaker 22: What I was able to find out about two years
• 47:04
Speaker 22: ago was that the county commission from a land cell
• 47:07
Speaker 22: back in nineteen seventy nine. That actually is why we
• 47:10
Speaker 22: have Meadowood Park today. In Tornado, we had about six
• 47:13
Speaker 22: hundred and fifty acres of undeveloped land that is ripe
• 47:17
Speaker 22: for a potential for hatful McCoy trails. I got with
• 47:20
Speaker 22: Jeff Filusk, who Dave, you are good friends with my
• 47:23
Speaker 22: friends sat in my office just about two years ago.
• 47:26
Speaker 22: I showed him this plan and I think his jaw
• 47:28
Speaker 22: dropped to the floor with the opportunity. They were excited.
• 47:31
Speaker 22: We jumped into it immediately, and so now we're proud
• 47:35
Speaker 22: to announce, as we've talked about before, on Tuesday at
• 47:38
Speaker 22: ten am, we're going to be having the grand opening
• 47:40
Speaker 22: ceremony for the Hatfield McCoy Dirt Bike Trails in Tornado.
• 47:45
Speaker 22: This is going to be over thirty miles of dirt
• 47:47
Speaker 22: bike trails. It's what we can We can't find anything else,
• 47:50
Speaker 22: so I'm going to say it. It's the largest dirt
• 47:52
Speaker 22: bike trail system in the United States.
• 47:55
Speaker 3: Until somebody tells you otherwise, it is well.
• 47:57
Speaker 22: And what's important about this is it's self dedicated. It's
• 47:59
Speaker 22: dedicated to single tracks, so only dirt bike can be
• 48:03
Speaker 22: on this. This is for ATVs, your TV side by sides. No,
• 48:06
Speaker 22: this is just for dirt bikers. And the reason why
• 48:09
Speaker 22: that's important is because this is a growing industry.
• 48:12
Speaker 3: With people riding a dirt bike. No idea how big
• 48:14
  Speaker 3: this is.
• 48:15
Speaker 22: And what they keep telling Hatam McCoy is we'd like
• 48:18
Speaker 22: to have our own trails. You know, it's the old adage,
• 48:21
Speaker 22: the ATVs don't like the dirt bikers, and dirt bikers don't.
• 48:24
Speaker 10: Like the atv is.
• 48:25
Speaker 22: So this is something that's solely for them. Obviously, there's
• 48:28
Speaker 22: still want to be the trails for the ATVs down
• 48:30
Speaker 22: you know in southern West Virginia, but this is something
• 48:33
Speaker 22: just for them, and we're getting calls right now. Just yesterday,
• 48:37
Speaker 22: we got a call from a family of four who
• 48:39
Speaker 22: lives six hours away, calling and asking how where can
• 48:42
Speaker 22: we stay in Kenall County. They're coming this weekend. They're
• 48:45
Speaker 22: staying all weekend for this trail.
• 48:46
Speaker 3: That's awesome. And when they come, they spend money. And
• 48:49
Speaker 3: that's where people like like like Kerry and I come
• 48:52
Speaker 3: in because the trails are great, but we want to
• 48:54
Speaker 3: know how much money do they spend when they're here?
• 48:56
Speaker 3: Where do they go to eat? And that's where you
• 48:57
  Speaker 3: come in.
• 48:58
Speaker 19: I'm very excited to support them were I mean, Bogie's
• 49:01
Speaker 19: you just spoke to them, so we're super excited. Well,
• 49:05
Speaker 19: but yeah, we want to you know, really highlight and
• 49:07
Speaker 19: champion all of our local businesses that you know, support
• 49:11
Speaker 19: this endeavor because it's going to be a very exciting one.
• 49:13
Speaker 3: I got a text here for you. Commissioner says a
• 49:15
Speaker 3: big Dave, big thanks to you, Commissioner Wheeler and the
• 49:18
Speaker 3: rest of the Kenawh County commission in Parks folks, A
• 49:20
Speaker 3: simple text into your show last week sparked inspiration to
• 49:23
Speaker 3: begin offering a discount for first responders and veterans at
• 49:26
Speaker 3: Coonskin and Big Ben Golf courses. Big Ben Golf Courses,
• 49:30
Speaker 3: which is conveniently next door to Boge's driving range. Your counterpart,
• 49:34
Speaker 3: mister Selango, was on a couple of weeks ago and
• 49:37
Speaker 3: this texter who I don't know who the texts are,
• 49:39
Speaker 3: texted in and said we should offer this, And a
• 49:42
Speaker 3: couple of days later I get a text from Commissioner
• 49:45
Speaker 3: Slango that says done. Yep, you're offering discounts now.
• 49:49
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 49:49
Speaker 22: Actually it was that day Commissioner Slango brought that to
• 49:52
Speaker 22: staff and when they asked me if it can be done,
• 49:55
  Speaker 22: I said absolutely. I think it's a great idea. So
• 49:57
Speaker 22: I know, Ben got with our part, director Jeff Hutchinson,
• 50:02
Speaker 22: and they've worked out how they can make that happen,
• 50:04
Speaker 22: and I think it's ten percent at this point.
• 50:07
Speaker 3: All right, But Dave Allen showing five eighty live is
• 50:09

• 50:25
Speaker 3: dot com elsewhere throughout them. We got the big announcement
• 50:28
Speaker 3: about the halfil McCoy Trail Commissioner and also carry from
• 50:30
Speaker 3: the Canal CVB. What else are we looking forward to?
• 50:33
Speaker 22: Well, I mean we're just going to be working on
• 50:34
Speaker 22: what we already know this working best. Obviously, we have
• 50:37
Speaker 22: the big project with the Halfil McCoy. It's going to
• 50:39
Speaker 22: be opening. We're going to see tremendous success from that,
• 50:41
Speaker 22: I believe you just hearing from Boge's. What we need
• 50:44
Speaker 22: to do at this point is make sure that we're
• 50:46
Speaker 22: supporting our lodging all in Knall County, including Charleston, making
• 50:49
Speaker 22: sure that that information for these projects are available, and
• 50:53
Speaker 22: we're working and making sure that people when they come in,
• 50:55
Speaker 22: not only are they going to enjoy the hafilm McCoy trails.
• 50:58
Speaker 22: But they're going to be able to know which rest
• 51:00
Speaker 22: taurants they go to, breweries, which hotels they can stay at,
• 51:03
Speaker 22: which are more formidable to them bringing a trailer in.
• 51:06
Speaker 22: You know that type of information providing that That's why
• 51:08
Speaker 22: we're so excited about bringing carry on. She is now
• 51:11
Speaker 22: going to be the executive director for our Kanak County CVB,
• 51:14
Speaker 22: which we are rebatalizing. You know, we looked at what
• 51:17
Speaker 22: City of Charleston's done with Tim and I'll tell you,
• 51:19
  Speaker 22: I'll admit it on air. I'm jealous. I think they'd
• 51:22
Speaker 22: done an excellent job with Regatta, and I want to
• 51:24
Speaker 22: see what we can do throughout the entire county. It's
• 51:27
Speaker 22: supporting all of our municipalities and unincorporated areas. I mean,
• 51:31
Speaker 22: you also know Yakfest. Where did Yackfest and Saint Albans start, Well,
• 51:34
Speaker 22: it started from tord Cole, which started with the Coal
• 51:36
Speaker 22: River Group right out of our own park Metalwood. They
• 51:39
Speaker 22: bring over twelve hundred paddlers for tor to coal every year.
• 51:44
Speaker 22: There's no reason why the Kanaal County through our CBB
• 51:47
Speaker 22: can't support that market it and make it bigger. I
• 51:50
Speaker 22: think we're going to look for those low hanging fruits
• 51:52
Speaker 22: and start supporting them. But at the end of the
• 51:54
Speaker 22: day too, we're also working a lot of big projects.
• 51:56
Speaker 22: We've got the big trail system for mountain bikes out Clinton,
• 52:00
Speaker 22: and we're working with something in eastern Kennall County. I
• 52:03
Speaker 22: know we get an issue with that, making sure that
• 52:05
Speaker 22: eastern Kannall County will be having some trails down the road.
• 52:08
Speaker 3: I promise that Commissioner Wheeler and Kerrie welcome aboard. Great
• 52:11
Speaker 3: to have you here, all right.
• 52:12
Speaker 12: It nice to be here, all.
• 52:13
Speaker 3: Right, and best to luck to you in your new role.
• 52:14
