- 0:42Speaker 2: as we do every week on Table Talk. This NFL
- 0:45Speaker 2: season is almost upon us. I can't believe real games.
- 0:49Speaker 2: The regular season it's almost here, Thank goodness. The preseason
- 0:53Speaker 2: has been really interesting to watch and as a result,
- 0:56Speaker 2: we got some storylines that we've been following, storylines that
- 0:59Speaker 2: we really.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Wanted to get into.
- 1:00Speaker 2: On this particular Table Talk episode, we got a new guest.
- 1:05Speaker 1: That's going to be joining us. It's his first time here.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Let's get right to it.
- 1:08Speaker 2: He covers the Los Angeles Rams over at turf Showtimes
- 1:12Speaker 2: dot com.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It is great to have him on the podcast.
- 1:15Speaker 2: You can follow him on the Twitter slash x at
- 1:19Speaker 2: b greasak tst.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Well.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I don't know why that was such a mouthful for me. Anyway,
- 1:24Speaker 2: we've got Blaine Grisak. How you doing, buddy, doing.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Great, Jeff, I appreciate it. I appreciate you having me on.
- 1:28Speaker 4: The preseason is wrapped up officially, thank goodness. Yes, the
- 1:32Speaker 4: the last the last week because the little little rolf,
- 1:34Speaker 4: I don't think I stuff a through dresser Win at
- 1:38Speaker 4: quarterback and a bunch of other fort spring plays wellmanke roster.
- 1:40Speaker 4: So yeah, glad of the next of all we'll see
- 1:43Speaker 4: is some is some actual action.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Absolutely, regular season is right around the corner here. But Blaine,
- 1:50Speaker 2: you know, you do really great coverage in terms of
- 1:52Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Rams, and I wanted to start the
- 1:54Speaker 2: discussion with getting into some of these NFL storylines before
- 1:58Speaker 2: the start of the season with regard to the Rams
- 2:00Speaker 2: and specifically the quarterback position, because going through this preseason
- 2:05Speaker 2: and even through the offseason, some NFL teams, as we know,
- 2:08Speaker 2: they really need to start formulating a plan about their
- 2:11Speaker 2: quarterback of the future. I mean teams like the Seahawks,
- 2:14Speaker 2: the Giants. I would even lump Pittsburgh of course in there,
- 2:18Speaker 2: even though they have two quarterbacks that could potentially be starters.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And I'm wondering what your thoughts are with regard to
- 2:26Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Rams what you've been covering with the team.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I would lump the Rams into that group as well.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That really needs to begin looking at the quarterback position
- 2:35Speaker 2: of the future. So I guess the real question is
- 2:38Speaker 2: coming into this season for NFL fans and for Rams fans,
- 2:42Speaker 2: how much more does Matt Stafford have left in the
- 2:45Speaker 2: tank here? And do you agree that that there sooner
- 2:47Speaker 2: rather than later, the Rams are gonna need to start
- 2:49Speaker 2: addressing the quarterback position of the future.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Definitely, we definitely agree with that. I think that they
- 2:55Speaker 4: do need to start looking at sort of a life
- 2:58Speaker 4: after after at through Stafford is as tough of a
- 3:01Speaker 4: as tough of conversation as that might be, and I
- 3:04Speaker 4: kind of think those conversations have been had this offseason.
- 3:07Speaker 4: You had the kind of whether or not he would
- 3:09Speaker 4: show show up to training camp. There's a little bit
- 3:10Speaker 4: a little bit of some some contract all the some
- 3:14Speaker 4: contracts dramas coming coming into the year, and then they
- 3:17Speaker 4: were able to figure that out and that's that's I
- 3:19Speaker 4: believe it's essentially a one year, forty million dollar contract
- 3:22Speaker 4: now heading into this year. So depending on kind of
- 3:25Speaker 4: how the both starts feel at the end of the year.
- 3:27Speaker 4: They can they can they can move on if needed,
- 3:28Speaker 4: and if they I think they're just kind of kind
- 3:31Speaker 4: of kind of gonna take it year to year and
- 3:32Speaker 4: kind of and just kind of see where where Stafford's at,
- 3:34Speaker 4: where his head is at. But yeah, I do think
- 3:37Speaker 4: just from from a see you never really really know.
- 3:39Speaker 3: It's like no quarterback. I think it's hard.
- 3:42Speaker 4: It's hard for it's hard to have the expectation that
- 3:44Speaker 4: every quarterback is gonna be Tom Brady and play Tiller
- 3:46Speaker 4: almost forty five years old and.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Play at a high level.
- 3:50Speaker 4: To to that age, I think it's definitely more realistic
- 3:52Speaker 4: to look at kind of the Philip Rivers timeline that
- 3:54Speaker 4: Matt matt the Matt Ryan timeline, and and that's kind
- 3:57Speaker 4: of right where Matthew Stafford's at right now. So I
- 3:59Speaker 4: think ideally he has two years left maybe maybe maybe
- 4:04Speaker 4: three if you're lucky, and and then then then then
- 4:06Speaker 4: he walks away. But I do think rams they know
- 4:09Speaker 4: that they had their first first round picks since twenty
- 4:11Speaker 4: sixteen this last offseason and so and they have another
- 4:15Speaker 4: one next year. So uh, it's not the strongest quarterback
- 4:19Speaker 4: class next year. But there are there's always those guys,
- 4:21Speaker 4: you know, at this time last year, I don't think
- 4:23Speaker 4: anybody saw Jaden Daniels as a top five pick, and
- 4:27Speaker 4: he went number two overall.
- 4:29Speaker 3: So I think you're kind of looking at me.
- 4:30Speaker 4: You guys like Connor Wagman from Texas A and m
- 4:32Speaker 4: who doesn't have a ton of experience right now, but
- 4:35Speaker 4: if he has a good year, could kind of pop
- 4:36Speaker 4: into that first round conversation. Quinn rs from Texas obviously
- 4:40Speaker 4: a guy that returned returned to school, Drew Aller from
- 4:43Speaker 4: Penn State has As has a lot of tools and
- 4:47Speaker 4: and somebody that would maybe benefit from sitting from sitting
- 4:50Speaker 4: for a year. So I do think they'll kind of
- 4:52Speaker 4: have a look a look at the look at a look.
- 4:55Speaker 4: They'll be looking at looking at as maybe some college
- 4:57Speaker 4: guys this year, and I think I think that maybe
- 4:59Speaker 4: an option for them, yeah next April.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and it really I guess when it comes down
- 5:03Speaker 2: to it with Matt Stafford, he's at the age where
- 5:06Speaker 2: legacy and ego kind of come together in a way,
- 5:09Speaker 2: and it happens like that for college quarterbacks, not college quarterbacks,
- 5:13Speaker 2: pro quarterbacks and then what the team does with regard
- 5:16Speaker 2: to the scouting of college quarterbacks. As a result, you
- 5:19Speaker 2: use the phrase you know where his head is at?
- 5:22Speaker 2: And that really comes down to, you know, what do
- 5:23Speaker 2: you want your legacy to be?
- 5:24Speaker 1: What do you want?
- 5:25Speaker 2: You know?
- 5:25Speaker 1: Where?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Where do where? What do you want to be remembered as?
- 5:27Speaker 2: And of course he's always going to be remembered as
- 5:29Speaker 2: a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Matt Stafford is going to
- 5:32Speaker 2: be remembered as one of the great quarterbacks of the NFL,
- 5:34Speaker 2: likely a Hall of Fame quarterback. And it's going to
- 5:38Speaker 2: be really interesting to see, like you said, Blaine, where
- 5:41Speaker 2: his head is at after this season and how many more,
- 5:45Speaker 2: how many more years he could potentially go on. But
- 5:48Speaker 2: you know, sticking with our Rams talk, I really was
- 5:51Speaker 2: surprised to hear that Rams linebacker Ernest Jones is essentially
- 5:55Speaker 2: on the trading block. I mean, just a few days ago,
- 5:58Speaker 2: Rams at their front office put basically put out there
- 6:01Speaker 2: that yeah, he's on you can be on the trading block.
- 6:03Speaker 1: You know, we're not gonna you know, we may shop
- 6:05Speaker 1: him around.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I mean, the Rams don't want to pay him, and
- 6:07Speaker 2: it's kind it's a little bit on the outside of it.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It's a little baffling for me because as an Eagles fan,
- 6:13Speaker 2: we just desperately want linebacker talent so much, and while
- 6:16Speaker 2: we have some, not the greatest in the world, but look,
- 6:20Speaker 2: Ernest Jones, he's one of the better young linebackers in
- 6:23Speaker 2: the NFL, and he has a ton of great leadership qualities.
- 6:26Speaker 2: From what I understand, why is it that the Rams
- 6:28Speaker 2: front office decided not to really kind of want to
- 6:31Speaker 2: build this defense around Ernest Jones and and why they
- 6:35Speaker 2: they wouldn't have any issues with getting rid of them.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess is kind of as good as mine.
- 6:41Speaker 4: And when Aaron Donald retired, he kind of he when
- 6:43Speaker 4: he he kind of came out and said, you know,
- 6:45Speaker 4: he told Ernest Jones, you know this, this is your defense. Yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 4: like you're you're, you're, you're the guy. And so yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 4: it's definitely surprising. This is what, like you said, one
- 6:55Speaker 4: of the better young linebackers in the NFL is just
- 6:57Speaker 4: twenty five, just twenty five years old. But I also
- 7:00Speaker 4: kind of think you look at it from the Rams
- 7:03Speaker 4: from the and and even kind of going going into
- 7:05Speaker 4: going into heading ended heading into the off season, Rams
- 7:08Speaker 4: kind of seemed like that Ernest Jones was a guy
- 7:10Speaker 4: that they wanted to bring back. And then and then
- 7:14Speaker 4: I think it was right after the draft or maybe
- 7:16Speaker 4: during odors means, it was some some sometime after the draft.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Uh Lustie came out and said that they they weren't
- 7:22Speaker 4: really in any rush to get anything done and they
- 7:25Speaker 4: wouldn't They didn't expect anything anything to get.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Done before the start of the year.
- 7:29Speaker 4: And yeah, I think you kind of look at it
- 7:31Speaker 4: from Ernest Show's perspective of you know, he's twenty five
- 7:33Speaker 4: years old, he wants to he wants to get he
- 7:35Speaker 4: wants to get paid, but also from the team perspective,
- 7:38Speaker 4: the Rams just they aren't a team that and and
- 7:41Speaker 4: I think you kind of see this with with with
- 7:43Speaker 4: other kind of you know, the the the Eagles run
- 7:46Speaker 4: legles one that that that Vic Fangio system and in
- 7:49Speaker 4: that Vic Fangio system, just that that that middle linebacker
- 7:52Speaker 4: position just isn't isn't isn't valued as highly as is
- 7:56Speaker 4: other defenses. So I I just don't think the Rams
- 8:00Speaker 4: said we want to pay Ernest Jones the eighteen million
- 8:03Speaker 4: dollars that he might he might command that another team
- 8:05Speaker 4: will get him. I think maybe if if I just
- 8:08Speaker 4: think that the two sides that are pretty far apart,
- 8:10Speaker 4: the Rams might be looking more towards what the Bengals
- 8:13Speaker 4: gave Logan Wilson, which is around kind of the ten
- 8:16Speaker 4: million dollar range, and Ernest Jones is probably looking more
- 8:18Speaker 4: at THO. So double fats. Yeah, yeah, I mean, but
- 8:23Speaker 4: at the same time, like it's one of those things that,
- 8:25Speaker 4: like the Rams are obviously a team that are looking
- 8:28Speaker 4: to compete a little compete a little bit this year,
- 8:30Speaker 4: and I coming off of that playoff run last last season,
- 8:33Speaker 4: and Ernest Shones helps you take that next take the
- 8:37Speaker 4: next step this year. I mean earth Shones is going
- 8:38Speaker 4: to help you more than twenty twenty five or twenty
- 8:41Speaker 4: twenty six fourth round pick. So yeah, that definitely that
- 8:46Speaker 4: definitely surprising, and it'll be interesting to kind of see
- 8:48Speaker 4: how it shakes out.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Again, folks.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Talking to Blaine Greasac from Turf Showtimes dot Com. Doing
- 8:53Speaker 2: great work over there covering the Los Angeles Rams, But
- 8:57Speaker 2: there's some other storylines we wanted to get into with
- 8:59Speaker 2: you blame and I guess getting back to the quarterback
- 9:02Speaker 2: position as we're looking towards this coming NFL season, I'm
- 9:06Speaker 2: really interested in seeing believe it or not, what Deshaun
- 9:09Speaker 2: Watson does or doesn't do for the Browns offense this season.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I mean, that trade with the Texans some time ago
- 9:17Speaker 2: likely may actually end up going down as one of
- 9:19Speaker 2: the worst trades of all times, considering how much of
- 9:22Speaker 2: a disaster Deshaun Watson has been since returning to his
- 9:25Speaker 2: on field play, his injuries. Just to you know, it
- 9:29Speaker 2: seems to be really cashing in, which you know, you
- 9:31Speaker 2: want players to make money, of course, but hasn't really
- 9:35Speaker 2: done much for the Browns and for the offense in general.
- 9:38Speaker 2: There I'm wondering if we do see a different DeShawn
- 9:41Speaker 2: Watson this year, going back to that mantra of legacy
- 9:45Speaker 2: and what legacy he may leave for himself in the
- 9:48Speaker 2: NFL again, do we see a different Deshaun Watson this year?
- 9:51Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on this?
- 9:53Speaker 4: Yeah, Like you said that, that's looking like probably one
- 9:55Speaker 4: of the worst trades in NFL history right now, isn't it. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 4: And it's just kind of going back to what the
- 10:03Speaker 4: what the Browns kind of did at the quarterback position
- 10:05Speaker 4: this this past offseason, you know, they they you know,
- 10:09Speaker 4: after Watch went down last year obviously, Joe Vlacka comes
- 10:12Speaker 4: in and goes on that goes on that magical run,
- 10:13Speaker 4: and they decide not to bring him back obviously, I
- 10:16Speaker 4: think just to avoid a quarterback controversy had head into
- 10:20Speaker 4: this year, or or or in the case that Watson
- 10:23Speaker 4: were to play poorly to start to start the year.
- 10:25Speaker 3: But yeah, I I I.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Think as much as Browns fans would, I would want
- 10:32Speaker 4: Watson to play well. I mean you look at kind
- 10:34Speaker 4: of just just NFL franchises and and teams that have
- 10:37Speaker 4: had some of the worst absolute luck at the quarterback positions.
- 10:40Speaker 4: The Browns are right right right right up there with
- 10:42Speaker 4: with the Chicago with the Chicago Bears, and at least
- 10:44Speaker 4: at least the Chicago Bears have have Caleb william Caleb
- 10:47Speaker 4: Caleb Williams this year. But yeah, uh yeah, I don't
- 10:54Speaker 4: see different different Deshaun Watson. Think we have seen flashes,
- 10:57Speaker 4: we just haven't seen the consistency. And then you kind
- 10:59Speaker 4: of look at kind of the shoulder injuries that he's
- 11:01Speaker 4: dealt with over the last year, and it's tough to
- 11:04Speaker 4: kind of see until I see it on a consistent basis,
- 11:07Speaker 4: It's tough to kind of see see can get back
- 11:09Speaker 4: to what he was with the Houston Texans.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Now that's what three or four years ago.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it's amazing three or four years ago, and he's
- 11:16Speaker 2: really solidifying his legacy as somebody who can't stay on
- 11:19Speaker 2: the field. And again, that trade is probably gonna go
- 11:23Speaker 2: down as one of the worst of all times. Brown's gambled,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and boy they gambled a lot away for sure. But
- 11:29Speaker 2: as we're moving along with the storylines here this season,
- 11:32Speaker 2: Blaine the I want to get your thoughts on the
- 11:34Speaker 2: new dynamic the NFL dynamic kickoff here, because it really
- 11:39Speaker 2: does have fans divided. Some like it, some hate it.
- 11:42Speaker 2: But the fact of the matter is that last year
- 11:45Speaker 2: we saw an all time low in terms of kickoff
- 11:47Speaker 2: returns only twenty two percent. The NFL and some other
- 11:50Speaker 2: folks had some ideas in mind as to make the
- 11:54Speaker 2: kickoff you know, quote more relevant this season and in
- 11:57Speaker 2: future seasons, and again came up with the dynamic kickoff.
- 12:01Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on this new kickoff change that
- 12:04Speaker 2: we've seen thus far during the preseason.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Do you like it? Do you not like it? How
- 12:08Speaker 1: it affects the game? What are your thoughts here?
- 12:10Speaker 4: I love the idea of it, I'm interested to see
- 12:13Speaker 4: see kind of how it how it uh plays during
- 12:16Speaker 4: during the regular season. I think teams kind of kept
- 12:19Speaker 4: the blockingest games as such, pretty vanilla throughout, throughout, throughout
- 12:22Speaker 4: the throughout the preseason. So I'm interested to see what
- 12:24Speaker 4: looks like in the regular season. But i guess, like
- 12:27Speaker 4: like like you were saying, last year, only twenty two
- 12:29Speaker 4: percent of kickoffs were returned, and the kickoff is it's
- 12:33Speaker 4: it's one of the more exciting it can be one
- 12:35Speaker 4: of the more exciting plays in I think kind of
- 12:39Speaker 4: kind of growing up watching the game, I think it
- 12:41Speaker 4: was was it D'Angelo Hall or it was, Yeah, there
- 12:44Speaker 4: were there, there was some some guy on the Chiefs
- 12:47Speaker 4: that was just absolutely unbelievable returning Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 4: the Angela yeah he so yeah, he was exciting than
- 12:53Speaker 4: the obviously had Devin Hester with with with with the Bears.
- 12:55Speaker 4: It was just they made these they made careers off
- 12:58Speaker 4: of the off of this play. So I'm really interested
- 13:01Speaker 4: to see how it plays out and if we kind
- 13:03Speaker 4: of and if we do see more kickoff returns for
- 13:06Speaker 4: touchdowns that change the change the change games.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Absolutely, I like the new dynamic kickoff rule because over time.
- 13:14Speaker 2: As we know, Blaine, the game has changed. Bigger, faster,
- 13:19Speaker 2: stronger guys running down a field absolutely annihilating guys on
- 13:23Speaker 2: the other team. We now have concussion issues that have
- 13:26Speaker 2: been ongoing for years, CTE. Guys who really suffer from
- 13:30Speaker 2: head trauma in future years. And you know, it's part
- 13:34Speaker 2: of the game. It's part of the game how it's evolved.
- 13:36Speaker 2: But if we're still able to keep the kickoff relevant
- 13:39Speaker 2: with the dynamic kickoff, I'm all for it for sure.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I'm all for it.
- 13:43Speaker 2: So uh, next subject I wanted to get into with
- 13:46Speaker 2: you really is about like interesting type of divisions and
- 13:51Speaker 2: fascinating ones quite frankly, because there are more than a
- 13:54Speaker 2: few divisions that are going to be really interesting to
- 13:56Speaker 2: see how things manifest, like, for one, the NFC Nower.
- 14:00Speaker 2: For me, it's going to be fascinating to watch the
- 14:02Speaker 2: Lions try to stay on top with the Packers and
- 14:05Speaker 2: the Bears closing in on them, And will the forty
- 14:09Speaker 2: nine ers still be the top dogs in the NFC West.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I think they could potentially be challenged by some other
- 14:14Speaker 2: teams in that division. I'm looking forward to seeing what
- 14:17Speaker 2: the AFC South actually brings to the equation too. Looking
- 14:20Speaker 2: forward to seeing if Anthony Richardson can get the Colts
- 14:22Speaker 2: possibly to a wild card spot in the playoffs, and
- 14:25Speaker 2: if the Texans we're gonna end up dominating in that
- 14:28Speaker 2: division with the talent that they have on their roster.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Oh and can Trevor Lawrence actually get the Jaguars to
- 14:34Speaker 2: another level. A lot of great divisional based storylines here
- 14:38Speaker 2: as you look at the NFL landscape here, Blaine, which
- 14:42Speaker 2: division intrigues you most as we're heading into this season.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And why.
- 14:47Speaker 4: I think I'm looking at the AFC East. I think
- 14:49Speaker 4: that that could be a very interesting interesting division. You
- 14:52Speaker 4: look at Obviously the Buffalo Bills there are they're they're
- 14:57Speaker 4: coming off as kind of the defect defending chance of
- 14:59Speaker 4: that of of that division, kind of stealing it late
- 15:01Speaker 4: from the Miami Dolphins, and obviously too much Josh Allen
- 15:04Speaker 4: is always is always going to compete, but they but
- 15:06Speaker 4: they lose to Von Diggs, and then you have the
- 15:08Speaker 4: Dolphins with with with with with with with Tua and
- 15:12Speaker 4: then and that offense is is really exciting and hopefully
- 15:15Speaker 4: and and they'll be hoping to kind of get better
- 15:17Speaker 4: on the on the defensive side of the ball, and uh,
- 15:19Speaker 4: I think that the Bills and the Dolphins are kind
- 15:21Speaker 4: of the two teams there. But then you look at
- 15:23Speaker 4: the New York Jets. They get Aaron Rodgers, they get
- 15:26Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers back this year, that defense that they're really good,
- 15:29Speaker 4: and he gave everybody saying, you know, this team is
- 15:30Speaker 4: just this.
- 15:31Speaker 3: This team is a quarterback away. This team is a
- 15:32Speaker 3: quarterback away.
- 15:33Speaker 4: They just need average quarterback play because because of how
- 15:37Speaker 4: good this defense is.
- 15:39Speaker 3: So the well, we'll see what Aaron.
- 15:41Speaker 4: Rodgers can do coming off coming off with that Achilles
- 15:44Speaker 4: and see just you know, even if he's not not
- 15:46Speaker 4: at that m v P level, he he's gotta be
- 15:49Speaker 4: better than what what what what Zach Wilson and trevorson
- 15:51Speaker 4: and and all all those guys brought them last year.
- 15:53Speaker 3: So we'll see how that helps that defense.
- 15:55Speaker 4: And then the Patriots I don't think are really are
- 15:58Speaker 4: really going to be going to compete in that division
- 16:00Speaker 4: at all, but uh, I do think they are better
- 16:03Speaker 4: than than than than what people think they think they are.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I think that I think I think that defense has
- 16:09Speaker 4: potential to maybe steal a game from like the Dolphins
- 16:11Speaker 4: of the bild or something, and and and and and
- 16:13Speaker 4: and and and impact that division a little bit. And
- 16:15Speaker 4: then just because I enjoy the absolute chaos of things,
- 16:18Speaker 4: I am looking at the NFC South with the with
- 16:21Speaker 4: the Falcon, Saints, Bucks and and yeah, I and and
- 16:25Speaker 4: and and and and the Panthers.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Which team actually wants to win this division?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Because I have a feeling it's it's it's gonna be
- 16:33Speaker 4: h maybe a seven to ten or eight nine team
- 16:35Speaker 4: that comes out.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Of Oh gosh, we've seen that before in the past,
- 16:38Speaker 2: with divisions that are just absolutely terrible, and it doesn't
- 16:41Speaker 2: seem like any of those teams within that division really
- 16:44Speaker 2: help themselves out a ton within the offseason. It really
- 16:48Speaker 2: is quite remarkable to uh watch watch a division like that.
- 16:52Speaker 2: And what's gonna happen with regard to the New York Jets,
- 16:55Speaker 2: I I honestly believe, and we're I'm gonna be doing
- 16:57Speaker 2: some predictions on this podcast plaid for him in the
- 17:00Speaker 2: coming weeks here within the next week, and I think
- 17:04Speaker 2: the Jets are likely to be a wildcard team, if
- 17:06Speaker 2: not actually win the AFC East quite frankly, because they
- 17:11Speaker 2: have a very good defense, and I don't know, I
- 17:15Speaker 2: think the Bills are probably gonna take a step back
- 17:17Speaker 2: losing a lot of offensive based players that's gonna be
- 17:20Speaker 2: able to help Josh Allen up. Then again, it's Josh
- 17:22Speaker 2: Allen and we know he can get the ball down
- 17:24Speaker 2: the field. So it's gonna be fascinating to watch for sure.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And before I let you leave, buddy, there's a lot
- 17:30Speaker 2: of media based questions that we're gonna get some answers
- 17:34Speaker 2: to sooner rather than later, as the NFL continues to
- 17:37Speaker 2: expand its brand basically all over the world. I mean,
- 17:41Speaker 2: now we're gonna be watching NFL Christmas games on Netflix.
- 17:44Speaker 2: We're gonna Bill Belicheck. He's gonna be broadcasting NFL games,
- 17:48Speaker 2: which I think is quite ironic considering how much of
- 17:51Speaker 2: a grump he was with the media as a head coach.
- 17:54Speaker 2: We're gonna have Tom Brady broadcasting. Jason Kelsey has replaced
- 17:57Speaker 2: Robert Griffin third on Monday Night count Down. I'm wondering,
- 18:01Speaker 2: do you like all of these upcoming programming changes to
- 18:05Speaker 2: the NFL And are there any that you're really looking
- 18:08Speaker 2: forward to or ones that are gonna kind of annoy you?
- 18:10Speaker 2: What are your thoughts here?
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's with all the with all that stuff, on streaming.
- 18:16Speaker 4: I guess I'm gonna lok conflicted about it just because
- 18:18Speaker 4: like just with with with with with with the costs
- 18:21Speaker 4: and everything, and I think at some point you start
- 18:23Speaker 4: to price out the average fan and and that's that's
- 18:28Speaker 4: that's never a good thing, I think. But yeah, I
- 18:31Speaker 4: know that's de somethingly gonna be interesting to see an
- 18:33Speaker 4: NFL game on an NFL game on Netflix, and yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 4: I so yeah, I'm I'm conflicted on all on all
- 18:40Speaker 4: the streaming services. Bill Belichick, I think we've seen him
- 18:42Speaker 4: in the we've seen him in the media of the
- 18:44Speaker 4: last kind of six months or so.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Now.
- 18:47Speaker 4: I think I think he did a show with with
- 18:50Speaker 4: Pat Macfeeder in the Draft and he was awesome during that.
- 18:52Speaker 4: It's like, where where was this personality for the past
- 18:54Speaker 4: twenty years in New England?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Right?
- 18:57Speaker 4: And then I with with with with with Tom Brady.
- 19:00Speaker 4: It's one of those things where like I get why
- 19:02Speaker 4: they have to put him in the number one slot,
- 19:03Speaker 4: but at the same time, like greg Olsen did absolutely
- 19:06Speaker 4: nothing to to lose his loss spot as the number
- 19:08Speaker 4: one as in the in the as the number one
- 19:11Speaker 4: with in the Fox scred I think greg Olsen was
- 19:13Speaker 4: probably one of the.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Better, better, better play analysts. Yeah, in in in in
- 19:19Speaker 3: the league, and.
- 19:20Speaker 4: So yeah, I'll be Tom Brady will have some big
- 19:23Speaker 4: shoes of filling him and I'll be interested to see
- 19:25Speaker 4: how he does.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Uh.
- 19:26Speaker 4: And then I think, you know, we've seen we've seen
- 19:28Speaker 4: Jason Kelcey and Travis Kelsey do their do their podcast
- 19:31Speaker 4: and they're an awesome personality. So getting Jason, getting Jason
- 19:34Speaker 4: Kelsey and bringing that energy to to Monday Night count
- 19:36Speaker 4: Countdown should be a lot of fun.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Well, I got to tell you, folks, it was great
