- 1:23the Habits that Shape an Extraordinary Life.
- 1:27Wow, that's powerful.
- 1:29How Small Daily Habits Create Extraordinary Success.
- 1:32Series 5, show number 30, and this is
- 1:35episode number one.
- 1:37Welcome, everyone, to the Inspirations for Your Life
- 1:40show.
- 1:40I am John C.
- 1:42Morley, serial entrepreneur.
- 1:45I'm also an engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 1:49podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 1:55Montclair State University, passionate lifelong learner, and so
- 1:59grateful now to be a published author.
- 2:02Thank you so much for joining me.
- 2:04Success, ladies and gentlemen, is rarely built by
- 2:06one extraordinary moment.
- 2:09More often, it's built by ordinary choices repeated
- 2:12day after day after day until they yield
- 2:15part of who we really are.
- 2:18The habits we practice quietly shape our character,
- 2:22influence our decisions, and determine the direction of
- 2:27our lives.
- 2:28If we want extraordinary results, we must first
- 2:31build extraordinary habits.
- 2:34Today, let's discover together how the smallest daily
- 2:38actions can create the biggest lifelong rewards.
- 2:42Before I get into it, I want to
- 2:44just tell you one of the big keys,
- 2:45ladies and gentlemen.
- 2:46It's not doing a lot.
- 2:47It's creating a powerful system, and keep doing
- 2:50that over and over again.
- 2:52Number one, small habits shape your future.
- 2:55Every major accomplishment begins with a small decision.
- 3:00The choices you make today become, well, the
- 3:03habits you practice tomorrow.
- 3:06Those habits eventually become the life you live.
- 3:11Never underestimate how one positive change can influence
- 3:15your future.
- 3:17Number two, guys, consistency beats intensity.
- 3:21Anyone can work hard for a day, but
- 3:23lasting success belongs to those who remain consistent.
- 3:28Small efforts repeated every day accomplish more than
- 3:32occasional bursts of motivation.
- 3:35Success rewards persistence more than perfection.
- 3:39Number three, daily actions always compound.
- 3:42Just as money grows through compounded interest, your
- 3:46habits grow through repetition.
- 3:48A single workout, one chapter read, or one
- 3:53encouraging conversation may seem insignificant today, but together,
- 3:59they create remarkable transformation.
- 4:02Progress always builds on itself.
- 4:05Number four, success starts with routines.
- 4:09Routines remove uncertainty and create stability.
- 4:12When productive actions become automatic, you spend less
- 4:17energy deciding what to do and more energy
- 4:20doing it well.
- 4:22Strong routines build strong results.
- 4:25Number five, progress is earned daily.
- 4:28Meaningful growth rarely happens overnight.
- 4:31It is earned through patient, consistent effort over
- 4:35time.
- 4:36Every day provides another opportunity to move one
- 4:41step closer to your goals.
- 4:43Number six, discipline creates freedom, guys.
- 4:46It sure does.
- 4:48Many people see discipline as limitations, but the
- 4:53opposite is true.
- 4:55Discipline creates choices by helping you build the
- 4:58skills, health, confidence, and opportunities you want.
- 5:03The more disciplined you become, the more freedom
- 5:08you often experience.
- 5:10Pretty cool, right?
- 5:11It's like the more you let go, the
- 5:14more power you have.
- 5:16That's an oxy thing, but it's the truth.
- 5:18Number seven, good habits reduce stress.
- 5:22Preparation removes unnecessary pressure.
- 5:25Organized routines help you stay ahead instead of
- 5:28constantly catching up.
- 5:30Good habits allow you to respond calmly because
- 5:34you've already prepared yourself for success.
- 5:39Small wins create confidence.
- 5:41Confidence doesn't suddenly appear.
- 5:43It grows each time you keep a promise
- 5:46to yourself.
- 5:47Every small victory reminds you that progress is
- 5:51possible and motivates you to continue moving forward.
- 5:57Number nine, habits become your identity.
- 6:00People eventually recognize you by what you consistently
- 6:04do.
- 6:05Your habits shape your reputation, influence your mindset,
- 6:10and reinforce the person you're becoming.
- 6:14Choose habits that reflect the life you truly
- 6:17wanna live.
- 6:19Number 10, excellence begins with repetition.
- 6:23Nobody performs at high level without practice.
- 6:29Excellence is developed through thousands of repetitions.
- 6:34That strengthen skill and confidence.
- 6:39Every practice session prepares you for future opportunities.
- 6:44Number 11, focus creates momentum.
- 6:48Distractions scatter your energy while focus concentrates it.
- 6:54When your attention remains on what matters most,
- 6:58progress becomes easier to measure and momentum begins
- 7:03to build naturally.
- 7:05Great achievements require sustained focus.
- 7:10Number 12, improvement never stops.
- 7:14Growth has no finish line.
- 7:18Every accomplishment creates another opportunity to learn.
- 7:23Improve and become even better.
- 7:26Lifelong improvement keeps your potential expanding.
- 7:31Okay, that's important to know.
- 7:33Number 13, stay committed daily.
- 7:36Commitment isn't demonstrated once.
- 7:39It's demonstrated repeatedly through your willingness to continue
- 7:44even when excitement unfortunately fades.
- 7:48Daily commitment separates lasting success from temporary enthusiasm.
- 7:55Number 14, positive routines.
- 8:00You need to build them.
- 8:02Positive routines create structure that supports your goals.
- 8:08They help remove unnecessary decisions and make productive
- 8:12behavior easier to repeat.
- 8:14Success becomes more predictable when your routines support
- 8:19your purpose.
- 8:22Number 15, guys, small steps matter.
- 8:26Large goals, guys.
- 8:28Large goals are accomplished through many small victories.
- 8:34I like to call them many small milestones.
- 8:37Don't become discouraged because progress seems slow.
- 8:41Every step forward brings you closer to the
- 8:44future you're working to create.
- 8:46The journey is built one day at a
- 8:49time.
- 8:50One day at a time.
- 8:52I think if we learn how to take
- 8:55our life one day at a time, we
- 8:57actually are happier people, but we also find
- 9:00some interesting things.
- 9:02We find out that we have more power
- 9:04than we thought.
- 9:05Number 16, practice creates mastery.
- 9:09Nobody becomes great by accident, right?
- 9:15You gotta practice.
- 9:17Mastery is the result of showing up, practicing
- 9:21the fundamentals and continually refining your skills.
- 9:25That's the gold.
- 9:27The more you practice with purpose, the more
- 9:30natural excellence becomes.
- 9:33Greatness is built one repetition at a time.
- 9:39Number 17, keep showing up.
- 9:41Some days you'll feel motivated and other days
- 9:43you won't.
- 9:46Success belongs to those who continue moving forward.
- 9:50Regardless of how they feel, showing up consistently
- 9:54builds resilience.
- 9:56Confidence and trust in yourself is key.
- 9:59And I think some people today, they take
- 10:02that for granted like, oh, I don't need
- 10:03to do that.
- 10:04And then they don't really stay in the
- 10:06moment, right?
- 10:08They don't stay in the moment.
- 10:12That's important to understand, that they don't stay
- 10:17in the moment.
- 10:17And the reason they don't stay in the
- 10:18moment, I'm gonna tell you why.
- 10:20It's because they just don't understand the purpose
- 10:28of life.
- 10:30They don't enjoy the little things that are
- 10:32happening.
- 10:33Number 18, make progress visible, folks.
- 10:36Track your progress so you can see how
- 10:39far you've come.
- 10:41Even small improvements deserve recognition because they remind
- 10:46us that your effort is producing results.
- 10:50Now, visible progress fuels motivation.
- 10:55Number 19, bad habits, eliminate them.
- 11:00Building good habits is only part of the
- 11:02journey.
- 11:03Removing the behaviors that slow your progress is
- 11:07equally important.
- 11:09Every habit you eliminate creates room for a
- 11:13better one to take its place.
- 11:16Number 20, guys, create better systems.
- 11:20Successful people rely less on motivation and more
- 11:24on systems.
- 11:26Good systems make positive choices easier and reduce
- 11:31unnecessary obstacles and the friction that comes with
- 11:33them.
- 11:34When your systems improve, so will your results,
- 11:37natural.
- 11:38And that's something to celebrate.
- 11:41Number 21, stay intentional.
- 11:43Don't drift through life hoping things may improve.
- 11:49Start living with purpose and make decisions that
- 11:52align with your goals.
- 11:55Intentional living transforms ordinary days into meaningful progress.
- 12:00Number 22, guys, build self-discipline.
- 12:04Self-discipline is one of the greatest gifts
- 12:07you can develop.
- 12:09It helps you make wise decisions even when
- 12:11they're difficult.
- 12:14The stronger your discipline becomes, well, the stronger
- 12:18your future becomes.
- 12:20I think that's something a lot of people
- 12:22don't realize, but when we start to understand
- 12:25that we can do something and that things
- 12:28are working, discipline becomes easier to build because
- 12:31we start to see that, wow, this is
- 12:33actually working for me in another area.
- 12:35I wonder if it'll work in this area
- 12:37of my life.
- 12:38Number 23, success grows quietly.
- 12:41It doesn't have a big bullhorn.
- 12:44Many of the biggest, ladies and gentlemen, that's
- 12:46right, many of the biggest victories happen long
- 12:52before anyone notices them.
- 12:55They're built during early mornings, late evenings.
- 12:59Consistent practice and private effort.
- 13:01Trust the process.
- 13:03Even when recognition hasn't arrived yet, it will.
- 13:09But you're not doing something for recognition.
- 13:11You're doing it to become a better version
- 13:14of yourself.
- 13:20That's key, guys.
- 13:23That is so, so key.
- 13:28But we have to understand why things are
- 13:30happening a certain way, right?
- 13:37I think a lot of people out there
- 13:39will ask me the question, John, how do
- 13:42I do it?
- 13:45One moment at a time.
- 13:47Number 24, daily effort pays off.
- 13:51Every productive day builds upon the last one.
- 13:56The rewards of consistent effort may not appear
- 13:59immediately, but they always accumulate over time.
- 14:04Stay patient because progress is working even when
- 14:09it's invisible.
- 14:12And I think in our world, you know,
- 14:15when we talk about faith, okay?
- 14:17I'm not talking about religion here, but in
- 14:20my religion, I have faith.
- 14:21And there's also faith in life.
- 14:23What does faith mean?
- 14:24Faith means that you know something's gonna be
- 14:27a certain way.
- 14:28You just know, even though you can't see
- 14:30it, even though you can't have any tangible
- 14:33results.
- 14:34You can't hear it, you can't touch it.
- 14:37And many people, when they can't touch, see,
- 14:40feel, or understand something, they're like, well, wait
- 14:42a minute.
- 14:43This can't be real, right?
- 14:51That's important, guys.
- 14:55Is it real or not?
- 15:01Is it real?
- 15:10That's important, guys.
- 15:17And I can tell you that life has
- 15:24obstacles that appear.
- 15:27When they appear, that's not our sign to
- 15:30go hibernate or say I give up.
- 15:34No, it's not.
- 15:40It's the sign for us to learn from
- 15:43our mistakes, right?
- 15:47It's the sign to learn from those mistakes.
- 15:51I think that's a very important thing for
- 15:54us to understand.
- 15:57We need to learn from our mistakes.
- 16:00If we learn from our mistakes, we won't
- 16:03do that again.
- 16:10And by saying that, we learn a new
- 16:13way in life.
- 16:17And this happens by evolution.
- 16:21When somebody says you don't do something or
- 16:23that's not the right way, half the time
- 16:25people have thick heads and they don't listen.
- 16:27And they do it anyway until they run
- 16:30into what?
- 16:31A problem.
- 16:33Until they run into a problem.
- 16:35A problem that says, you know what?
- 16:37This is not what it's about.
- 16:43This is not what it's about.
- 16:46It's about living a life on purpose.
- 16:52Living a life that's about intention.
- 16:56Living life that goes with an ebb and
- 17:01a flow.
- 17:04Building habits in the beginning might seem very
- 17:07difficult, but I gotta tell you, it gets
- 17:09easier over time because once you learn how
- 17:12to build a habit, even if it's a
- 17:14hard habit, you're like, wait a minute.
- 17:15Now I know how to build habits.
- 17:16I can do this in other areas of
- 17:18my life.
- 17:20That's a very valuable skill.
- 17:24Many people don't learn that skill, guys.
- 17:26Many people never learn that skill.
- 17:30Why?
- 17:35Because of one thing, ego.
- 17:39Ego.
- 17:42If we use our ego and keep it
- 17:45in check, there's no problem.
- 17:49But if we don't, this becomes a big
- 17:51problem.
- 17:55Becomes a big problem for us and for
- 17:58many other people.
- 18:04And that's hard, right?
- 18:07That could be hard for some people.
- 18:10Hard to understand why is it this way
- 18:13this time?
- 18:14Why is it like this, right?
- 18:22Why?
- 18:26And we don't always have the answer, but
- 18:33we know one thing.
- 18:34We know that when we live a life
- 18:36with intention and purpose, we make an impact.
- 18:41We make a difference in our lives and
- 18:42other people's lives.
- 18:45I think that's another one of those things
- 18:47that we've gotta really appreciate in life.
- 18:50We gotta understand how our impact in the
- 18:54world helps other people, right?
- 19:00That's key, guys.
- 19:05I've seen coaches before talk about their version
- 19:10of being in the moment.
- 19:11I call it awareness.
- 19:12I call it avoiding burnout.
- 19:17But when I do it, I do it
- 19:19from my heart.
- 19:21I do it not to get an ovation.
- 19:26I do it not to get a thank
- 19:28you.
- 19:29I do it for the truth that it
- 19:32is, for the purpose that it is.
- 19:38There are a lot of coaches out there
- 19:39that do things for the glory.
- 19:44I have not been that kind of coach.
- 19:45I've been the one that inspires people because
- 19:50when I can make someone's life better, even
- 19:52if it's just one person's life, I had
- 19:56meaning.
- 19:57That's important, guys.
- 19:59Number 25, progress will always build confidence.
- 20:04Confidence isn't created by hoping for success.
- 20:08Hoping never got you success.
- 20:09It's created by seeing yourself improve through consistent
- 20:14action.
- 20:16Why is it, though, people don't believe in
- 20:19consistent action?
- 20:23Maybe they had a bad experience, just maybe.
- 20:29Maybe they were disillusioned on something, right?
- 20:35Maybe, right, maybe.
- 20:38Every accomplishment reminds you that you're capable of
- 20:44achieving even greater things.
- 20:48Number 26, every choice matters.
- 20:51Life is shaped one decision at a time.
- 20:54Every health habit, every positive conversation, every hour
- 20:58spent learning, and every commitment you keep contributes
- 21:03to the person you're becoming.
- 21:06Never underestimate, folks, today's choices.
- 21:10Stay patient.
- 21:12Great accomplishments require time.
- 21:18Don't compare your progress to someone else's journey.
- 21:25Everyone's journey's different.
- 21:28Focus on becoming a little better each day
- 21:31and trust that consistent effort will eventually produce
- 21:36extraordinary results.
- 21:38That's the key, guys.
- 21:40Number 28, building lasting habits is a key
- 21:44to success.
- 21:45Temporary motivation creates temporary change, and we know
- 21:49that our motivation can wane back and forth,
- 21:51right, with moods.
- 21:54Lasting habits create lasting success.
- 21:58Discipline creates lasting habits.
- 22:01Focus on building routines you can sustain for
- 22:05years instead of chasing quick results that quickly
- 22:09disappear.
- 22:11Number 29, keep moving forward.
- 22:13There will always be obstacles, setbacks, and unexpected
- 22:17challenges.
- 22:19Refuse to let them define your future.
- 22:22Learn from each experience, adjust your approach, and
- 22:26continue taking the next step forward.
- 22:30Number 30, extraordinary lives are built one day
- 22:33and one moment at a time.
- 22:36No remarkable life is created overnight.
- 22:39No meaningful accomplishment begins with ordinary choices.
- 22:44Repeating consistently over months and years is the
- 22:48key.
- 22:49Success isn't found in one perfect moment.
- 22:53It won't be.
- 22:55It's built through thousands and millions of purposeful
- 22:58moments that gradually become our extraordinary life.
- 23:02They actually incubate us to becoming that better
- 23:04life.
- 23:05Lisha, and as I get ready to close
- 23:07out tonight's show, and as we begin this
- 23:10new series that I've just launched today, remember
- 23:15that your future isn't determined by one decision
- 23:19you make.
- 23:20It's shaped by the multitude of habits you
- 23:23practice every single day of your life.
- 23:25Every positive routine, every commitment you keep, and
- 23:29every step you take toward becoming better is
- 23:32an investment in the life you're creating.
- 23:36Don't, don't, don't wait for the perfect opportunity.
- 23:40It'll never exist, or the perfect time.
- 23:42They don't exist.
- 23:43Start with the right next choice.
- 23:46The time is now.
- 23:48Build one positive habit, then another, and continue
- 23:53stacking small victories until they become extraordinary results.
- 23:59The life you dream about isn't built through
- 24:02dramatic changes.
- 24:03It's built through daily consistency, intentional action, and
- 24:09the willingness to keep growing long after others
- 24:12have stopped.
- 24:14Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you so much
- 24:16for joining me for another episode of Inspirations
- 24:20for Your Life.
- 24:21I am John C.
- 24:22Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 24:29podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 24:35Montclair State University, passionate lifelong learner, and so
- 24:40grateful now to be a published author.
- 24:44I think as we wrap up tonight, and
- 24:48I think about intention, I'm gonna give you
- 24:53an example.
- 24:56If you wanna solve a problem or a
- 24:58challenge, sometimes one time's not enough.
- 25:04You gotta work on it, put it down,
- 25:07and come back to it, just like when
- 25:08you write a paper, right?
- 25:09You've gotta realize that.
- 25:11Gotta realize exactly what that's about and how
- 25:14that can change our lives and everyone's life
- 25:17that I think we have the ability to
- 25:19affect, right?
- 25:22That's not an easy thing, guys.
- 25:26People that come back to things, whether you're
- 25:29a writer, producer, engineer, we never get it
- 25:33right the first time.
- 25:35That's the rough draft.
- 25:37That's the drawing board.
- 25:39That's the initial stages.
- 25:42But success is given to those that understand
- 25:46the drawing board can be revisited anytime because
- 25:50we can always make something better.
- 25:54Those that have a humble heart and attitude
- 25:59are destined not only to learn, but are
- 26:02destined for even greater success.
- 26:08And that happens by us focusing on our
- 26:12moments, focusing on what's in the moment.
- 26:19I'm not trying to do it to impress
- 26:21anybody.
- 26:22When I focus on the moment, I do
- 26:24it very quietly.
- 26:26And in my own space a lot of
- 26:28times, or I do it in public, but
- 26:30no one knows that I'm focusing on the
- 26:32moment.
- 26:33Again, it's not a Broadway show.
