- 0:01SPEAKER_02: Welcome to the Stephen Jeff Show, the first comedy podcast in the history of the world.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: Assuming the world began when I started talking.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Be sure and follow or subscribe to the Steve and Jeff Show wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: Write us a review while you're there too.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: And now, here's Steve and Jeff.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Well, hey, Johnny, thank you.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: And Jeff, isn't it great to be back in the studio here just doing what we do?
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: How's it going, Jeff?
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Do you have a good week?
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: How about you, Steve?
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Except for the snow.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: I would say that it was kind of uneventful for me.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, did you do anything special?
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Funny asset, because you know, Valentine's Day was recently, so I always try to do that something a little extra on Valentine's Day.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Because you know, when you've been you've been married a long time, you're getting older, you know, you got really gotta you gotta work at it, you gotta bring something to it.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: So I got Teresa, of course, the usual.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: I went to Costco and got some chocolates, but I thought, you know, I gotta work at it a little more, I gotta be a little more right, you know, put some romance into it, you know.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: So I think that's important in any marriage.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, I'm sure you do that too, Jeff, right?
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: You know, I've been married longer than you, and I don't remember what romance looks like anymore, to be honest with you.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: I know that Kathy doesn't know what romance looks like.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: I yeah, I have some fantasies about it, but I think that's really not romance, it's kind of something else.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Give me some suggestions on what makes it romantic for you.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: I have a great idea for you, Jeff.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: I this is what I added to that chocolate.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, uh Costco's got good chocolate, it's a good place, but very romantic place.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Uh, very oh, I I fall in love every time I go there, and and you know, and you have to buy a big box of love too.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: It's not you have to buy like a year's worth of love, but I digress.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: I I needed to add something to it, so I started writing your poetry.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Started writing your poetry different times in the day.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: I think that kind of worked, you know.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Is this like roses are red, violets are blue, you you look like a duck, and quack like one too.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, no, no, no, no.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Is that is that what we're talking here?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: What kind of poetry are we talking about?
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Not the rhyming stuff, it's more like free verse, more like the Frank O'Hara type stuff, you know, just kind of just kind of cool in it.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: I worked all Valentine's Day, so I I I had to take some breaks during the work, and you know, I I would start texting her what I'm thinking.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Just kind of hit that romance.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: Started early in the morning.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Texted her a note that said, if you are sleeping, send me your dreams.
- 2:29unknown: Jesus.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Nice, huh?
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Frank O'Hara never wrote that.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Really good.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: And so then later, later in the morning, I sent another text that said, If you are laughing, send me your smile.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Jeff, I'm impressed on myself here.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: This is so good.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: I feel like having a cigarette right now.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: Like, oh, just wait, it gets better.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: I'll have two cigarettes later.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: The afternoon, I texted her, if you're eating, send me a bite.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: And a little later in the afternoon, I said, if you're drinking, send me a sip.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: And finally, right toward the end of the day, I texted her that if she was crying, send me your tears.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: And I said, I love you.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: You know, I tell you, Jeff.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: I love you too.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Oh gosh, Jeff, Jeff, that was so romantic.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: I tell you, it worked, it worked so well.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: I can't tell you what I'm feeling right now.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And if you if you saw, you would probably understand it.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, but it's um it's not.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: Well, that's what that is, right?
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: Did she did she respond to your text?
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, she did.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: She did later in the evening.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: I was just about to come home.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: She sent me a text asking if I had any suggestions because she was on the toilet.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: So still romantic.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: It still kind of worked, you know.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, it still is a good idea, and I'm you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna hang up that Frank O'Hara badge until next next Valentine's Day.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: I'll do it.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: But uh, but anyway, Jeff, that was my week.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: I'm impressed.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: I texting back and forth kind of reminds me that that we haven't done a show for a while, I think on listeners' emails and texts about the show, and it's been a it's probably been close to a year, hasn't it?
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: Oh, Jeff, it's been very, very long.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: I don't know that it's been a year, it could be two, it could be 50, but it's been very long, Jeff.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: I know, and funny you should say that, Jeff.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: I actually have a few emails that I've been saving up.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: Why don't we read them?
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: You want you you want to get started?
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: This first email is from Beth of Sioux City, Iowa.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Nice town.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh beautiful place.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she's also good there.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: So she writes, Dear Steve and Jeff, but mostly Steve.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: I love your show.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: She read my poems, I bet.
- 4:39unknown: I know.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: Anyway, go ahead.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: I like this.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: This is good.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: I like this.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Uh, you two are a perfect match for each other, and you're so entertaining.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Just one question.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: I think for the most part, Steve books all the guests, and I love who he chooses, but it seems like once they're on the show that they sort of disappear like they were never there to begin with.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Not only don't I see them on other shows, but I don't even see them reappear on the Steve and Jeff show.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Can you explain to me why that is?
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: Well, first of all, Beth, I want to thank you for that nice compliment.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: And we do have some guests that have reappeared, but really there's a good reason why you won't see most of our guests on other shows.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Probably the easiest way to explain it is that once they're on our show, you know, since we have, let's face it, Jeff, the millions listening to our show.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: Once they're on our show, doing anything else just doesn't make sense.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: It's like, you know, when you're on the tonight show in the old days when a comic made the tonight show, once you're on the tonight show, why would you go on Joey Bishop?
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Now, you know, Jeff, we get that, but I some of our not all our listeners are as old as we are.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna try to give that a little more up-to-date analogy, you know, for those the younger listeners.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: And if a guest, for example, is on the old Batman TV show with Adam West, why would they do a Mike Wallace interview?
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: I just it just doesn't make sense.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: So I think young people understand that one.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: I do, I think it's the perfect example.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And also, as far as coming back onto the show again, Miss Claire, you know, she does the post-interview interviews right with our guests, and she's noticed that a lot of these guests they they seem a little spoiled, and you know, they're not very respectful and they're kind of ungrateful, you know, kind of arrogant.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: I guess it's because it's it's our fault.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're on the best show in the world, and so they think they're the best performers in the world, so they absolutely have attitude.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so we generally don't invite them back because they've got this swell head, and and you know, and even if we did, many of them seem to kind of disappear, you know.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Some end up retiring, some leave the country unexpectedly, and a few have died unexpectedly of natural causes, of course.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: And and when I say natural causes, I I'm talking about an occasional exposure to cyanide or getting eaten by a snowblower, you know.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just bad luck, you know.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Nothing, nothing connected to the show or Claire for sure, but you know, that can happen.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: You know, and Jeff, quite a few of them have died mysteriously, and many others have gone into politics and sports.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: You know, let me let me read the next one.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Okay, good.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: I think we're ready to move on here.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: Uh, looks like this one came from Johnny G.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: Believe it or not, is it Johnny?
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: I probably don't even know.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Probably Kenny's brother.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Johnny G lives in uh Baltimore, Maryland.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Uh nice town.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Always had a nice time in Baltimore.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Of course, I don't remember most of them, but I've always had a nice time there.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: Uh he asks, uh, Stephen Jeff, I listened to your show religiously.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Well, now that that might be a little blasphemous there, Johnny, but uh but uh but I digress.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: It's almost an addiction.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: You know, Johnny, you keep at it.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: I know you can get there.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: That almost, you know, but I digress.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, and he always continues.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Good thing I'm on methadone.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess it is.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: You and the methadone make my world brighter and far more interesting.
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: Uh and speaking of getting brighter, my question is that I noticed the days get longer at certain times of the year, but shorter at other times.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: Can you explain why that happens?
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: Or am I just stoned?
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Uh he actually he he typed this into his his email says, Thanks, I'll hang up and listen for your answer.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: He actually typed that in.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: Okay, he sounds a little high.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: That's not an either or.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: I can explain that, and you are high.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think it's those crab cakes.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: You know, you have a couple of those Baltimore crab cakes, and you just feel high.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: I'm sure that's Johnny G, thank you for asking us that question.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: It's quite an email.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: And first of all, it sounds like that you might have a uh unhealthy attraction to our show.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: Uh don't feel bad.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: A lot of people feel that way.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: They look at us as something that it's the center of their life.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: But just to be clear, we're not a religion, we're we're not gods, we're just a podcast.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Uh we're the most listened to podcast in the history of man, but still just a podcast.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And as far as your question about days getting shorter and longer at different times of the year, yes, that is us.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Um, we do control both the sun and the weather.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Specifically, Steve controls the sun, and I, since I'm Jewish, control the weather using my space lasers.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: I'm really glad Johnny brought that question up.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Yes, I certainly we're not a religion, we're not a cult, none of that.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: We're just a really popular show that people focus their entire attention on.
- 9:41SPEAKER_02: But I digress.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: But Johnny, I'm glad you asked that question because I'm gonna be working a little late tonight.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: So I'm thinking about adding a couple of hours of sunlight.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: How's the weather looking tonight, Jeff?
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: It looks fine.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I you should have no problem getting home.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: Um I'll I'll start I'll start the rain around nine o'clock if that works for you.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah, I'll probably leave about 8:30.
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: So yeah, that should be good.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: Okay, great.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, great.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: So hey, let's take another email here.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: We got an email from Samantha of Chicago, Illinois.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: She's writing specifically to you, Jeff.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: And she says, Jeff, I think you are just everything.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, and we're not a cult.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: It's just people do this.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: This is a free will offering, if you will.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: I but I digress.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: Jeff, I think you are just everything, smart, handsome, and so knowledgeable.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Wait, she she knows you?
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: Well, but I no, okay.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: Let me continue.
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: Uh, I know you refer to being married to someone named Kathy, but is that really true, or is that a show thing?
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: I ask because even if you are married to this woman, Kathy, does she make you happy?
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: Does she take care of you like I would and make you feel special?
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: Did she ever sew donated clothes from Goodwill together to make a life-size doll of you right down to your private parts?
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: Well, from goodwill too.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: Hey, you know, did she ever rename her daughter Jeffreina?
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: No, no, she didn't.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: I see there you does she wake up every morning writing poetry.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, she writes poetry.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: Look at this.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: Does she wake up every morning writing poetry just to make your day a bit brighter?
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Jeff, you're probably in awe.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: So I uh Samantha, let me let me let me let me address this.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: Uh, first of all, when it comes to making the day brighter, we just talked about this.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: That's that's actually my department.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: But Jeff, is it me or do you get a lot of listeners that are really obsessed with you?
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not a cult, but I don't know.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: This sounds like a woman who might want to meet your dad or your faux dad and Joliet, and maybe you know, join you, join them, join the whole cult, you know.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: And I I I think we all agree though that Kathy's very lucky that Samantha doesn't have your address, unless, of course, she listened to the tariff tax episode that we just did, or true, or knows that Kathy works at the Costco in Cicero.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: Other than that, I think you're completely safe, Jeff.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: So anyway, uh let's let's take the next one, Jeff.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: What do you you you have one there?
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: I think that this email is a good one, and it's something as opposed to like the others that were left.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, and it's interesting, it's kind of a unique question.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: So uh I don't know if we've ever had this question before.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: It's an email from Doris from Cheyenne, Wyoming, and she asks of all the people you've had on your show in the last 50 years, who was your favorite?
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, did you want to take a crack at this one first?
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, Doris.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: That is a great question.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: And I I gotta tell you, you know, and we've had some really amazing guests on this show.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: We've had uh motivational speakers, we've had you know famous doctors, we've had all kinds of different people, authors, several authors of books.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: But I gotta say, I think my favorite show, my favorite guest was our very first show.
- 13:05SPEAKER_02: It's my therapist.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Oh we had her on just the joy that she had when you know she was helping us kick off this podcast, and then the agony that she suffered when she realized that I had recorded some of her session, I played it.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: Some people just aren't ready for technology, Jeff.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: And she just she just didn't like that.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: So I you know, but I think overall, what a great show, what a great guest.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: And we had her back on the show, so there you go for that earlier question.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: She reappeared, but I think she went into uh politics and sports.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: Now I didn't know what your answer was going to be, but I thought it would be related to something romantic.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's the poetry in me, or and it was sort of romantic about the Impala and the story about your mom.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, just wait, oh, there's more coming.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: I would have gone with Meg as my guess on who your favorite uh person was.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Also on the show twice, also on the show twice, uh three times even, I think, wasn't she?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Three times.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: So she may have been on a Thanksgiving show.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: She's on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and then she had her own show.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: And well, she had never owned it.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: It was our show, but she had her own episode.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and did you go to her wedding?
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I did.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: She got married, and I yeah, I yeah, I did.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: And it was we in fact we did an episode on that one, too, didn't we?
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: We did, so maybe that was my favorite person, you know, through you.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: As far as who I choose, or I chose I I guess it would be Dr.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: Reinerstein, who did the surgery on my nose.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: I think that was for a couple different reasons.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: One is, you know, I lived with that nose, it was such a heavy weight on my shoulders my whole life, and the burden of carrying that thing around, and it was just so wonderful to get rid of it.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know though, Jeff, the the weight wasn't really on your shoulders, more like on your face, you know.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: It's true, but also it was free.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: And that was that was great.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Now, yes, the nostrils don't work all the time, and that is something, you know, if Dr.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Reinerstein ever gets out of prison, maybe he can he can fix that for me.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: But I just think for me, he changed my life, and that was physically changed my life.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: So I guess that's what you'd go with.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: Well, and and you know, Dr.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: Will's up for parole in June, so who knows?
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: He that's great, he could be out.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: He's I think he's been a model prisoner.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: In fact, he's he's standing in art class right now as a model, but it but I digress.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: But uh great to go down memory lane here, though I think we both think that all of our episodes are it's really a totality, it's like one big family.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: It is one one total cult of shows.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: It's like a family with a lot of kids or like a cult with a lot of people.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: Uh you love them all, but you know, like any family or or cult, we obviously don't love all of them equally, but you know, hey, they're all ours nonetheless, right?
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: I agree, and uh I think that goes without saying.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: So shall we move on to the next question?
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, absolutely, absolutely.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: And hey, funny thing, speaking of memory lane, this listener, Gretchen Fetterhart of Niles, Michigan.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: I yeah, I bet so.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: Uh Gretchen Fetterhart of Niles, Michigan writes, Hey, Steven Jeff, I love your show and especially your backstory.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: Hey, Gretchen, you should see my front story sometimes.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: And I have a lot of hair on my back, but I digress.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: I know how you met at the age of 15 and developed a friendship that has lasted a lifetime.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: That's absolutely right.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Well, so last time so far, I mean, we're not dead.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but so far that made me wonder what if you could go back to any age in your life and begin from there again?
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: What age would that be?
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: And she has, oh, and just to make it a bit more challenging, you wouldn't know anything more than you did back at that moment.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: See, that's you know, if I knew then what I know now, but she's takes that possibility off.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, clever Gretch.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, which is too bad because you know that would be a question that would answer in general, Steve.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: I don't like those kinds of questions, these what if questions, yeah.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Um but I'm feeling good.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: I think it's the poetry, and I'm feeling insightful, I'm feeling aroused.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, you're going all Frank O'Hara.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: No, you're totally over it.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Totally.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: So I think I'm I'm gonna take a crack at it.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: I I yeah, is it okay if I go first?
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah, please do.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: When I look back on my life, there's many wonderful things that I've experienced, and and I've been blessed.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: So, where I would start, you you you don't want to start at a point where you miss out on certain things, like I would never want to miss out on meeting Kathy, the love of my life, or my amazing daughter, who I just love to death, or even my grandchildren, which are are amazing.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: So when I look back at at where I would start, I think I have to go back a little further.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and for me, that point is when I was 15, which was right before I think Steve, you and I started our lifelong friendship, and it was it was about when we met, right?
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, it was the first time that I smoked pot, and it was about a month before I had a make out section with Brenda Douglas, and I was I was very high during that time, um as well.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: So oh, she was probably higher, but but I digress.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, I think she probably was.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: Uh but my life, you know, when I look back, I just don't know if my life ever got any better than that.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: So for me, that was where I would start my life and then see how it goes from there.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: What about you?
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: You know, funny thing you should say, age 15.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Mine follows a similar path.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: You know, I wouldn't I wouldn't want to focus on anything later because I wouldn't want to have missed anything, but I didn't want to go too far back because it could be a real conundrum.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Because you know, Jeff, I am from the future and I could go back five, six thousand years and uh with this could never end.
- 18:59SPEAKER_02: We could get kicked out of eccentric Lady Land studio next month and I'd still be talking.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: So I didn't want to do that.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: But you said age 15.
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: Mine very, very close to that.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: Age 16.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: We'd already met by that time, but I was age 16.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: That's the reason I picked that, that's when I started driving my mom's 1965 Chevy Impala.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, talk about talk about make out sessions.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: Oh boy, and and you know, I wasn't always alone for those make out sessions either.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you that.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: I it were oh man, that car.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: I still oh man, I I'm gonna look for it.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna find it one of these days, Jeff.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's great.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: And you know, the only thing better would have been if you were making out with Brenda in that Chevy.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: Wait, Brenda, dark blonde hair, green eyes, at a iTwitch.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, she was only mine.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: All right, well, good.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: Well, I she really liked the car too.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: I gotta say, she was sometimes she took the car without me.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, I you know, I you know, we we had kind of an open relationship, you know.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was Brenda.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's her.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Well, anyways, I think we should probably move on.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh yeah, and the next question is actually our last one.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, Jeff, I'm so sad.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: It seems like we just going so well.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: It seems like we just started, Jeff.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: You know, I know you know it's another show.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: I know, and if I had to rewrite when I would start my life, it might be right when you did that poetry.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: That that might be where I should have started my life because it just is I just feel so uplifted and uplifting and up.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so you're hard for the bard, huh?
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 20:41SPEAKER_02: Loving that poetry.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: So, anyways, this last question comes from a David P from Champaign, Illinois, my old stompy.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, nearby, yeah, right next door.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and he says, Steve and Jeff, I used to listen to your podcasts all the time, but like most things in this world today, the Steve and Jeff show has gotten very political.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: It seems like you're big Trump fans now, and or Trumpsters as people call them.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: And I don't get it.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: You always seem like such nice guys, and you were smart, and you have such a good sense of humor, especially you know, lately after everything that took place in the White House.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: And I truly can't believe that you are now in support of the sexual predator who has made his way into the White House twice.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Can you explain to me why you feel that way?
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: And is there a chance that you might occasionally look at our side for a change?
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, Jeff, let me, I can I can kick this one off and you may want to add some things as well.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: Um, David, listen, thanks for the email.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure that you're listening to our podcast.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Are you listening to the podcast of that MMA fighter guy?
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: You might be a little confused, but I digress.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: You know, when you say your side, I don't know.
- 21:57SPEAKER_02: We I guess maybe we have gotten a little political.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: But isn't it great?
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: And I know Doggy and various people in the DOJ are listening.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: So isn't it great that we have in the White House someone who keeps his promises?
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: He said, Chaos promise, chaos delivered.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: Bingo.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: It's exactly, exactly what you're getting here.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: And isn't it nice that he is supported by a political party that just literally will lay on their backs and let him do anything?
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Political party, uh, you know, they're easier than Brenda.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's just unbelievable, yeah.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: So I what could possibly go wrong with that?
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: I think, David, you might just be jealous.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: Let me ask you something, David.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: I know you can't answer, but something to think about here.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: You know, let me just put this into perspective for you.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: You know, Obama, right?
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: Obama's president for eight years.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: Did he rename an ocean or a gulf or even a river?
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't think so.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, he was not focused on the important things, right?
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, all those bodies of water kept their names.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, come on.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: You're exactly right, Steve.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, obviously, David is also uncomfortable with the way our fearless leader connects with all kinds of real Americans, you know, capital real.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Wink, wink, real.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we know.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: We know.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: And the way he convinces them that the American dream is still here, but was temporarily stolen by fake Americans from within.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: If only your side had the same kind of passion that our leader has for America, especially for Miss Teenage America.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's his favorite part.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Favorite part of the country, yeah.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: You might still have a voice in this government.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: You might even been able to be the first one to come up with the idea of the Gaza Strip, you know, as a casino strip.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: You know, that could have been the Democrats' idea or building a wall for the Canadian border, which is long overdue.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Hey, did Obama build casinos in in the Middle East?
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: No, this is important stuff, right?
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: Jeff, you make some great points.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: I I just hope that we turn David around before her doggy finds out, you know.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Uh he seems like a good guy.
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: You know, David, you seem like a good guy, although apparently you're misinformed and you sound like you might be a little Canadian, eh?
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: You know, that's what I'm afraid of.
- 24:20SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, we are going to get kicked out of eccentric Lady Land Studios here in a minute.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: So we better call it a night here.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: And Jeff, it's just been great going down memory lane and reading brand new emails that are not really memory lane, but it but is but they're on memory lane.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: See, we read the new stuff and it takes us to the old stuff.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: And then we talk about the old stuff and it takes us to the new stuff.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: It's it's it's a big poetic circle.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: It's like a Frank O'Hara orb.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: That's so true.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: I'm just sitting here just in a trance.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: So I'm I need to snap out of it for a second here, but I want to thank everybody for all the questions, like you said, and and those who listen to our show.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: We are so grateful.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: It's you know, the show is all about you.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: And a special shout out for the two men who has made all this possible, basically made everything possible, you know, our trusty president and vice president musk.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't know where we would be without them, and I certainly don't know where we're headed.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: Isn't it the other way around, Jeff?
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Isn't it president?
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: But I digress.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm sure we'll hear more about that as Doggy grows and starts to bark a little more.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: But anyway, Jeff, great seeing you, and we will be back with another show next time.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: But Johnny, take us out of this show, right, Steve?
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: But first, a word from this nice new sponsor.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: You know power.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: The power over everything.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: You know how to just take it, how to just take power.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: You know how it feels, and you know how it smells.
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: It smells like Musk.
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: The new set from Leatherface.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Musk, you'll have absolute power.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: Two trillion will be yours to play with.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: The electrical feel of Russian spice, the full feel of unearned wealth and power.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Musk.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: Now legal in the US.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: It's power with corruption, it's intoxication.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Musk.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: Muscolo.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: Now available wherever your country is sold.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: Get them in sold separately.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: This has been a decline in fall production in association with just like Augustus Media.
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: Be sure and learn all about Steve and Jeff at their website, stepandjeff.com.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: This is Johnny speaking.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: I actually think I have nothing to say.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: Good night.
