- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simon se wo r Well. Howie
- 0:05Speaker 1: Carr is one of the very best talk show hosts
- 0:08Speaker 1: in the world. You can hear him on iHeart. Also
- 0:11Speaker 1: a best selling author. You'd love his books and his
- 0:15Speaker 1: latest book is Mass Corruption. You could get it at
- 0:18Speaker 1: Amazon and you can get everything at Howie carshow dot com.
- 0:22Speaker 1: His website, Howie carshow dot com. Howie Carr, how you doing.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Very well? Better than the the Ayatola, the new Iyatola.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, well it's the son of the old Isola. But
- 0:36Speaker 1: would you take that job? How long? How long? Would
- 0:39Speaker 1: how long do you think your life insurance company would
- 0:41Speaker 1: let you keep the policy?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah? There used to be an old joke about people
- 0:45Speaker 2: who were on what they call the hit parade, an
- 0:47Speaker 2: organized scribe you wouldn't want to be standing next year,
- 0:51Speaker 2: And I think this guy falls into that category. You know,
- 0:55Speaker 2: don't be standing too close to the new Iatola. And
- 0:58Speaker 2: now it turns out apparently his father, the ruthless, bloodthirsty dictator,
- 1:06Speaker 2: he had written him out of the will. Oh I mean,
- 1:10Speaker 2: and you know the thing I don't understand, Mark, is
- 1:12Speaker 2: I thought they overthrew the show for one reason. In
- 1:15Speaker 2: nineteen seventy nine because they didn't want a hereditary monarchy. Yeah,
- 1:19Speaker 2: and now it seems like all these years later, they've
- 1:23Speaker 2: gone back to a hereditary succession.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Right. Well, but that's this assembly of experts. Apparently I
- 1:29Speaker 1: told himself did not want to have his son take over, right.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Right, But you know who else was going to take over?
- 1:36Speaker 2: And I guess these hardliners, I mean I don't understand
- 1:40Speaker 2: that why they would bomb. You know, they're you know,
- 1:44Speaker 2: people who were at least neutral and maybe like kind
- 1:46Speaker 2: of secretly rooting for him, you know, I mean, you know,
- 1:49Speaker 2: not even Hitler. Hitler didn't send skiing Nazis into Switzerland
- 1:54Speaker 2: during World War Two, you know, I mean, this is
- 1:57Speaker 2: this is just this crazy, isn't it. I Mean, it's
- 1:59Speaker 2: like they're proving the point that they're there, they're lunatics
- 2:02Speaker 2: and they can't be trusted with these these munitions. You know,
- 2:06Speaker 2: it's they're they're proving, they're proving Trump and and uh,
- 2:10Speaker 2: you know who's point, aren't they?
- 2:12Speaker 1: And maybe they just hate this I told his kid,
- 2:14Speaker 1: and they want to get rid of them, so they
- 2:15Speaker 1: figure the quick's way to get rid of him is
- 2:17Speaker 1: making them a new leader, and it'll be going on
- 2:19Speaker 1: a few days.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, I heard yesterday that you know that there were
- 2:22Speaker 2: reports that maybe he had lost a leg in the
- 2:26Speaker 2: in the attack that killed his parents and his wife
- 2:29Speaker 2: and everybody else. And you know, so then so then
- 2:33Speaker 2: of course the joke flooded in on my show. You know,
- 2:35Speaker 2: but he didn't have a leg to stand on. And
- 2:39Speaker 2: you know, he's he's busier than a than a one hour,
- 2:42Speaker 2: than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest,
- 2:44Speaker 2: et cetera, et cetera, all the old jokes.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, now this I told his son, in that bombing
- 2:50Speaker 1: of those leaders, he lost his wife, his son, his mother,
- 2:52Speaker 1: So I would imagine he's not too America friendly. This
- 2:55Speaker 1: is a new eye, told his son.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but what's he gonna do? I mean, the missile
- 3:00Speaker 2: lunches are down ninety two, you know, and every every
- 3:03Speaker 2: day they go down another I mean they I mean,
- 3:05Speaker 2: they'll still keep going after them, because you know what,
- 3:07Speaker 2: all it takes is one missile to kill a bunch
- 3:09Speaker 2: of people, but in any of these countries. But you know,
- 3:12Speaker 2: they're they're it's becoming negligible now, I mean, what are
- 3:16Speaker 2: what are they going to do? I mean, but I
- 3:19Speaker 2: Mark tell me, how does it how does it end?
- 3:21Speaker 2: I mean, if they if they just want to keep
- 3:23Speaker 2: if they say they're not going to surrender, do you
- 3:25Speaker 2: do you just keep bombing them and bombing them and
- 3:27Speaker 2: bombing them.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah, let's try that for another week. See what happens.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I know, just I mean, I know it's this is
- 3:32Speaker 2: this is still very early days, you know. I mean,
- 3:36Speaker 2: we want to cease fire. We want to see this
- 3:38Speaker 2: is like it's if there were if this were Pearl Harbor.
- 3:41Speaker 2: You know, there's last Saturday. It's not even Christmas nineteen
- 3:44Speaker 2: forty one. Yet they're already saying, let's stop the war.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Let's stop the war.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yeah, they call it the Endless War. It's now day eleven,
- 3:52Speaker 1: Endless War. So hey, Howie Carr, you wrote the best
- 3:55Speaker 1: books ever written about the Kennedys. You are the best
- 3:58Speaker 1: Kennedy expert. You know, this new JFK Junior mini series
- 4:04Speaker 1: is like the hottest thing now streaming. Everybody's talking about this,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and the family's all upset. They're exploiting the Kennedy don't
- 4:11Speaker 1: you think though. It's the first time that Kennedy's ever
- 4:13Speaker 1: got any positive publicity in the last few years.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it really is. I mean sometimes the stories are sad,
- 4:21Speaker 2: you know, a drug overdose or a drowning or something
- 4:24Speaker 2: like that. But yeah, there's never there's never anything popular. Yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 2: that's positive. I mean look the the son, the son,
- 4:32Speaker 2: the heir apparent lost to asynate primary in Massachusetts to
- 4:39Speaker 2: Ed Markey, and I mean your yeah, you know, I
- 4:41Speaker 2: don't know how familiar national audience is with Ed Markey,
- 4:45Speaker 2: but I mean he's he's really on the Biden spectrum. Yeah,
- 4:50Speaker 2: I mean, especially when it comes to walking, he's he's
- 4:52Speaker 2: doddering around. And a Kennedy named Joe Kennedy the second
- 4:58Speaker 2: couldn't beat him in massac quashed there. And and then
- 5:03Speaker 2: this this kid that's running for a Nadler seat. I
- 5:05Speaker 2: mean that guy is he's certifiable, isn't he?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah? Kennedy? Oh no, he could win. I mean that's
- 5:13Speaker 1: a Democratic district. If you get the nomination, you win.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I mean it's it's.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Oh, I know, but I mean he can't get the
- 5:18Speaker 2: can he get the nomination? As crazy as he is?
- 5:21Speaker 1: I don't know. Hey, look look we got elected mayor.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Look who's our governor?
- 5:26Speaker 2: I know, you know you know what he now that
- 5:28Speaker 2: I think about it. He kind of looks like one
- 5:30Speaker 2: of those bomb throwers at Gracie Bean, doesn't he Have
- 5:33Speaker 2: you ever seen him in the bomb thrower in the same.
- 5:37Speaker 1: He is completely nuts. So what is it with this
- 5:39Speaker 1: Kennedy family. You know, every family has a black sheep,
- 5:41Speaker 1: Every family has a tragedy somewhere or a This family
- 5:46Speaker 1: has tragedies everywhere, nuts everywhere in the family. Even JFK Jr.
- 5:51Speaker 1: The one that we really love, the one good life
- 5:53Speaker 1: ends in tragedy. What is it with the Kennedy's and
- 5:56Speaker 1: all the tragedy.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I don't well. I think part of it is just
- 5:59Speaker 2: the you know they they take chances. I mean like
- 6:03Speaker 2: the you know, the the oldest son, Joe Kennedy, I mean,
- 6:06Speaker 2: he finished up his time in World War Two, had
- 6:08Speaker 2: flown all these missions and he just decided to go
- 6:11Speaker 2: back out for another one and and got blown up.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I mean, they they all do. His kick the woman
- 6:19Speaker 2: who was killed in the plane plane crash. Look at
- 6:21Speaker 2: how many of them have died in plane crashes, including uh,
- 6:24Speaker 2: you know, some of Epple Eppele's ca call Kennedy's uh
- 6:29Speaker 2: parents and her brother. I think they all died in
- 6:31Speaker 2: plane crashes. I mean, it's just crazy. I tell you
- 6:34Speaker 2: another thing too, I mean, this is just my aunt.
- 6:37Speaker 2: My aunt used to say that Irish people who sold
- 6:40Speaker 2: booze to other Irish people always ended up, you know,
- 6:45Speaker 2: getting the curse. And uh you know, I hadn't thought
- 6:48Speaker 2: of that for years and years. But maybe Aunt Kay
- 6:51Speaker 2: was onto something. I don't know, I mean, because that's
- 6:53Speaker 2: I mean Joe Kennedy, uh well, and his father, Patrick Kennedy,
- 6:57Speaker 2: they were both they were both big booze sellers to
- 7:01Speaker 2: their own people.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah, there's that story about Joe Kennedy a million years ago.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He was on that ship in first class and there
- 7:07Speaker 1: was an Orthodox rabbi with his people there, and Kennedy
- 7:11Speaker 1: was so vicious, so rude to him, and that the
- 7:14Speaker 1: rabbi put a curse on him. You remember, really, Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 1: it's an old it's it was always said that that
- 7:20Speaker 1: was where it all started, the tragedy.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you know, have you ever read that book,
- 7:26Speaker 2: mister s about Frank Sinatra.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Oh, it's one of the best books ever written. George Jacobs.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It is George ja that is such a great book.
- 7:33Speaker 2: But I always remember what he said, you know, he said,
- 7:36Speaker 2: I was working for Frank Sinatra. I met all the mobsters,
- 7:39Speaker 2: the Jewish mobsters, the Italian mobstership, but the worst mobster
- 7:43Speaker 2: I ever met, worst organized crime guy, Joe Kennedy. He
- 7:47Speaker 2: went to Harvard.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And we can't say it on the air, but tell the.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Jokes I can't repeat. We can't repeat the jokes on
- 7:54Speaker 2: the air that Joe Kennedy used to tell.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Joe Kennedy in Sinatra's dinner party, would say the most ugly, racist,
- 8:01Speaker 1: anti Semitic things you could. We can't even repeat it
- 8:04Speaker 1: on the here. It's so vulgar. Yeah, but it's a
- 8:07Speaker 1: great book.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And yet, and yet down here in Palm Beach, you know,
- 8:10Speaker 2: they wouldn't let him in any of the waspy clubs
- 8:13Speaker 2: because obviously it was a gangster. So he had to
- 8:17Speaker 2: play golf at the Jewish country club. I always was
- 8:20Speaker 2: I always wondered about that, the pump that's where he
- 8:22Speaker 2: had a stroke at the Palm Beach country Club, play
- 8:24Speaker 2: playing golf.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah. In the last few years of his life,
- 8:28Speaker 1: he was basically bedridden, right, it was awful. Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 2: No. All he could say was no, no.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Well, if you want more of this, get Howie Carson.
- 8:38Speaker 1: He's got these great books Kennedy Babylon and Volume.
