- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with on our radio. This is Almost Famous Podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Today we have one of the people she doesn't know
- 0:09Speaker 2: this yet, but one of the people that my wife
- 0:11Speaker 2: and I have admired from Afar Sidney.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to the show.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Nice, thank you. I appreciate that. That's so nice.
- 0:19Speaker 2: So we really if my wife was here, she would
- 0:22Speaker 2: attest to this. Like a week and a half ago, we
- 0:24Speaker 2: were talking about people from the show who have recently
- 0:27Speaker 2: had little children. Yes, because we were getting prepped to
- 0:30Speaker 2: it our child, and your name popped up and we
- 0:33Speaker 2: were looking at everything that you've just done with life
- 0:37Speaker 2: over the last few years and it's been awesome. And
- 0:40Speaker 2: so for those who just as a reminder, what season
- 0:44Speaker 2: of the show were you on?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I was on season twenty four.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Okay four years after me, which was who is the Bachelor.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Pilot Peter Webber pilot almost last name, And now you
- 0:58Speaker 3: were married to your husband, yes, and you recently just
- 1:01Speaker 3: had a baby. We did, Yes, we did. Then the
- 1:04Speaker 3: best thing that's ever happened to us, of course, so yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 3: so yeah, so ever since the Bachelor, things kind of
- 1:12Speaker 3: like happened really fast for us, like I met Fred
- 1:15Speaker 3: from the Bachelor. His family watched the show, and long
- 1:18Speaker 3: story short, we started dating after when I was in LA.
- 1:22Speaker 3: We met, we started dating look with the purpose. After
- 1:25Speaker 3: that we both knew we wanted to take things seriously.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Then we dated for about two years, got engaged for
- 1:30Speaker 3: nine months, married a year and a half later. We
- 1:34Speaker 3: have a beautiful baby boy.
- 1:35Speaker 1: So you were living in LA before you went on.
- 1:37Speaker 3: The show, wasn't living I just went there to do
- 1:39Speaker 3: some work stuff, stayed out there for a few weeks
- 1:41Speaker 3: and Fred, my husband, was there doing some off season
- 1:44Speaker 3: training and so cal So I didn't know anything really
- 1:49Speaker 3: to do out there. He was out there and we
- 1:50Speaker 3: were just like, let's you know, let's meet for dinner.
- 1:53Speaker 3: And we did and it was just yeah crazy the moment,
- 1:57Speaker 3: Like every single moment after that, we knew like we
- 1:59Speaker 3: wanted to be in each other's lives.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So, yeah, am I wrong in saying this and yell
- 2:04Speaker 2: at me if I am? Okay, without the show, you
- 2:07Speaker 2: would have met your husband.
- 2:08Speaker 3: No, one undred percent.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Now I also like elaborate.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so his family watched the show, so he The
- 2:15Speaker 3: way that they, his family and him explained it to
- 2:18Speaker 3: me is that they're watching the show, and afterward they
- 2:21Speaker 3: would text spread and be like, there's this girl on
- 2:23Speaker 3: the Bachelor this year. You need to like find her.
- 2:26Speaker 3: If she doesn't win, you need to go and like
- 2:29Speaker 3: find her, reach out to her, like she's your type,
- 2:30Speaker 3: she's you know, da da da dah. We just think
- 2:33Speaker 3: like this, you need to find this girl. And he
- 2:35Speaker 3: was like, what are you guys talking about this random person?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Just like, you guys are being nuts. And at that time,
- 2:42Speaker 3: he was actually playing in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I forget what year it was, but he they lost
- 2:48Speaker 3: the game, and then he was like, there was like
- 2:50Speaker 3: a week between when they lost the super Bowl, and
- 2:52Speaker 3: I remember because I was in a Mexican restaurant watching
- 2:54Speaker 3: the super Bowl. And now I'm like, that's so funny.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I'm like I was watching my husband and I didn't
- 2:58Speaker 3: even know it. Yeah. So then weeks later he DMS
- 3:02Speaker 3: me after after I got off the show, And if
- 3:05Speaker 3: you've ever been on the show, you know, when you
- 3:06Speaker 3: get right off your DMS and your social media and
- 3:08Speaker 3: your phone is just going nuts and you're like, how
- 3:11Speaker 3: do I even handle all of this? But I would
- 3:13Speaker 3: just kind of sift through at night and like look
- 3:15Speaker 3: and see who's messaging me and stuff, and his cam
- 3:18Speaker 3: up on my phone and I was like, who is this?
- 3:20Speaker 3: So I like go to his page and I was like,
- 3:23Speaker 3: who is this person? I didn't even know what the
- 3:25Speaker 3: forty nine ers were, which is really funny because I'm
- 3:27Speaker 3: from Alabama, so all we know is just college football,
- 3:31Speaker 3: so I had no idea about NFL anything. So anyways,
- 3:34Speaker 3: found him, left it on red for a while. Then
- 3:37Speaker 3: I ended up messaging him back and just yeah, and
- 3:41Speaker 3: that's how it's hurted. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But how many years you said?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Now it's almost five.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Five years of marriage?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah, of knowing each other.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Not married.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and then how long a marriage for two and
- 3:51Speaker 2: a half with a little baby. Oh yes, So now
- 3:55Speaker 2: obviously life for you right now is amazing. You have
- 3:58Speaker 2: a little baby and your married.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Let's go back to kind of that season of the
- 4:04Speaker 2: BATCHL like, why would you go on it? This like
- 4:08Speaker 2: you're from Alabama, this random reality show?
- 4:12Speaker 1: You say yes to it? Why did you do that?
- 4:15Speaker 2: So?
- 4:16Speaker 3: I did it because I was young, I was single,
- 4:18Speaker 3: I had no responsibilities, nothing tying me down. And I
- 4:24Speaker 3: was like, well, I mean I've always been a relationship
- 4:26Speaker 3: type of girl. I've always been in a relationship, wanted
- 4:29Speaker 3: to be in a relationship, so I always dated really
- 4:32Speaker 3: seriously just never worked out. So I was like, well,
- 4:35Speaker 3: why not take this to like the next level and
- 4:37Speaker 3: like really put myself in a position to where I've
- 4:40Speaker 3: only you know, one goal is to really get to
- 4:42Speaker 3: know this person, know if I want to be with them,
- 4:44Speaker 3: and then you know, if it's reciprocated, then you know,
- 4:47Speaker 3: there you go. You found your husband. So that was
- 4:49Speaker 3: the goal. So that's why I went on. And it
- 4:53Speaker 3: was obviously crazy way. It is a crazy way to
- 4:56Speaker 3: find love, but sometimes it does work, which is amazing
- 5:00Speaker 3: work for me in that formula, but I feel like
- 5:03Speaker 3: it worked out, you know, in a completely different way.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I did find my husband, so.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Same with me.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's really kind of like my story, right,
- 5:10Speaker 2: it didn't work out for me like I wanted to totally.
- 5:13Speaker 2: But then my wife, I think responds to my direct
- 5:16Speaker 2: message because I had a blue check mark.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And it popped up to the top.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Good. I think that's a plus, right, And I.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Had a background check because I was the bachelor, and that's.
- 5:27Speaker 3: When you said that because SPREAD had a blue check
- 5:29Speaker 3: mark at the time too. So yeah, those automatically you're like,
- 5:32Speaker 3: look a little deeper into those, like, oh that's you know,
- 5:34Speaker 3: let me get check this one out. So yeah, well good,
- 5:37Speaker 3: that's good.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Very similar stories, so funny.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, now I need some advice from you.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Okay, So you are a new mother.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yes, I'm sure it's been a fire hose of just
- 6:00Speaker 2: learning and just emotion. Yes, if you were to speak
- 6:04Speaker 2: to any new parents out there about what it's like
- 6:08Speaker 2: to have a newborn.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, what would you say?
- 6:12Speaker 3: So I say this often, and this just this month,
- 6:15Speaker 3: which he'll be five months, he's five months this month.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I just got a rhythm. We just got a rhythm,
- 6:21Speaker 3: especially me, Like I'm his mother, I'm with him ninety
- 6:24Speaker 3: nine percent of the time, so I feel like I
- 6:26Speaker 3: have gotten my rhythm before that. There is no rhyme, rhythm.
- 6:31Speaker 3: There's nothing that you can do that's gonna make things
- 6:33Speaker 3: make sense. My big thing is when they're newborns, technically,
- 6:38Speaker 3: like that first month and a half, I just let him,
- 6:40Speaker 3: Like the sleeping is like the biggest thing, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 3: like these new sleep schedules and sleep cues and da
- 6:45Speaker 3: da da da da. And I only started honing into
- 6:47Speaker 3: that until like three months, and I feel like that's
- 6:50Speaker 3: why I'm able to do things like this now and
- 6:53Speaker 3: go out and be normal because I was a stickler
- 6:55Speaker 3: from that three month to five month. He sleeps seven
- 6:58Speaker 3: am to seven pm or seven pm to seven am. Now,
- 7:02Speaker 3: this morning, I had to wake them up at eight
- 7:03Speaker 3: thirty because I'm like, okay, little guy, like we got
- 7:05Speaker 3: to get up. But all I can say is before
- 7:08Speaker 3: that those two months, you can't put any pressure on
- 7:11Speaker 3: yourself to like make a schedule. He needs to sleep
- 7:13Speaker 3: this time. He just let them be, you know, in
- 7:15Speaker 3: that newborn stage, because all they want to do is
- 7:18Speaker 3: sleep and eat, sleep and eat, and to be with
- 7:19Speaker 3: mama and touch and smell you and your wife, like
- 7:22Speaker 3: that's the most important thing. And don't get caught up
- 7:25Speaker 3: in the schedule because it's easy too now with social
- 7:27Speaker 3: media and Instagram and all you see is like sleep
- 7:29Speaker 3: schedule and my baby's doing this and beta da let
- 7:31Speaker 3: that go. Tell her to just relax, work on her postpartum.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I was had the craziest postpartum experience. The emotions hit
- 7:38Speaker 3: you like you like a like a truck that I
- 7:41Speaker 3: never experienced that before.
- 7:42Speaker 1: What do you mean by that?
- 7:44Speaker 3: Just the emotions that you feel after your home. When
- 7:46Speaker 3: you're in the hospital, it'll be the best days of
- 7:48Speaker 3: your life. It'll just be like you're living on cloud nine.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Then you get home, you're still riding that beautiful wave,
- 7:55Speaker 3: and then something in this chemical makeup of the woman
- 7:58Speaker 3: everything comes crashing down. I cried for two weeks, three
- 8:02Speaker 3: times a day for no reason. My husband would just
- 8:04Speaker 3: look at me and just be like, what can I do?
- 8:05Speaker 3: And I'm like maybe, like honestly nothing, like I don't
- 8:08Speaker 3: know why I'm like this, and you just have to
- 8:10Speaker 3: get through that. And he's like, well, if we need
- 8:12Speaker 3: to talk to someone, like let me know. I'm like,
- 8:13Speaker 3: I'm just good. I'm just gonna ride this out. But
- 8:16Speaker 3: that's something I didn't expect. So that's something you should
- 8:19Speaker 3: be you know, does you know watch your love on
- 8:21Speaker 3: her a little more. She's gonna be going through a lot.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Just the emotions of having that baby in those postpartum
- 8:26Speaker 3: hormones going up and down is something that I just
- 8:29Speaker 3: did not I was not prepared for. So yeah, it's
- 8:33Speaker 3: a wild ride. It's a wild right.
- 8:35Speaker 2: What did your husband do that really felt good to you?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Like it felt like he.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Was doing it so he would help a lot with
- 8:42Speaker 3: nighttime feedings. So at the time I was pumping and breastfeeding,
- 8:49Speaker 3: so you know, but you also have to sleep in
- 8:52Speaker 3: between that, and there's not much time to do that
- 8:54Speaker 3: at all. So he would I would pump before I
- 8:56Speaker 3: went to bed so that I knew I had two
- 8:58Speaker 3: bottles for him, and he would do two of the
- 9:00Speaker 3: nighttime wake time so that I could get those three
- 9:03Speaker 3: hours of sleep, and then the last two wake times
- 9:05Speaker 3: I would do and then we would just be up
- 9:07Speaker 3: for our day at six am. So he would take
- 9:09Speaker 3: the majority of all of the night shift, which was
- 9:12Speaker 3: just like incredible for the mama, especially if you're pumping
- 9:15Speaker 3: and breastfeeding, because you have to wake you have to
- 9:17Speaker 3: wake up to pump to be if she wants to breastfeed,
- 9:20Speaker 3: and if she if she's not breastfeeding, I would say,
- 9:22Speaker 3: just put like a formula like baby bottle thing in
- 9:25Speaker 3: your room so that you can just roll over and
- 9:27Speaker 3: give him a bottle. Just make everything in your room,
- 9:30Speaker 3: your guys room. Make it like a sanctuary. That's okay, yeah, yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 2: My co host here, Ashley, Yeah, she does that, yes,
- 9:37Speaker 2: and she just learned it for her second not with
- 9:39Speaker 2: her first, but her second.
- 9:40Speaker 1: She's now learning. She told me yep, to make her bedroom.
- 9:43Speaker 3: For like, yeah, like you don't have to leave, like
- 9:46Speaker 3: we I have a mini fridge in there. I just
- 9:47Speaker 3: took it out the other day with you know, if
- 9:49Speaker 3: you're doing formula like a baby Breza, if she's going
- 9:52Speaker 3: to do formula, definitely put the baby Breza on your
- 9:55Speaker 3: registry because it's incredible. It's what it we use now.
- 9:59Speaker 3: But yeah, she's pumping, have all the pumps just right
- 10:02Speaker 3: near her so that she doesn't have to do anything
- 10:03Speaker 3: but feed that baby whichever way she's going to do
- 10:06Speaker 3: it and put him back or her back in the basinette.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Good advice. Yeah, I'm trying to learn. It's a lot now.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Obviously your husband does play in the NFL. Yes, your
- 10:18Speaker 2: baby is five months old. The season is coming right
- 10:21Speaker 2: upon us. Will you to go to most games? And
- 10:25Speaker 2: my follow up question that will would be will he
- 10:28Speaker 2: recognize his father on the field?
- 10:30Speaker 3: So he definitely recognizes our faces now and our voices
- 10:33Speaker 3: when we come into a room, he lights up. He
- 10:35Speaker 3: knows who we are. But it's funny you say that
- 10:37Speaker 3: because last night we had our first preseason game at
- 10:40Speaker 3: Levi's and I took him and it was definitely a
- 10:44Speaker 3: learning experience because I was like, what am I going
- 10:46Speaker 3: to do all season? So this was kind of just
- 10:48Speaker 3: the first time doing it, and it was an interesting night.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I left before halftime, got him home just in time
- 10:54Speaker 3: for bath, bedtime routine, and he was just he was
- 10:58Speaker 3: not a happy camper. Was just too much on him.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It was very loud, there's thousands of people. When you're
- 11:04Speaker 3: used to being at home with music, I don't do
- 11:06Speaker 3: screen time, so he was very like over stimulated. So
- 11:10Speaker 3: we've got to work on that. But my plan is
- 11:12Speaker 3: just to take him to most day games for the
- 11:15Speaker 3: home games, and then night games. He's gonna have to
- 11:18Speaker 3: be with a babysitter because I just don't want to
- 11:19Speaker 3: put him through that. It's too much.
- 11:21Speaker 1: She's too little, you'll be gone.
- 11:23Speaker 3: I will try to go to most home games one
- 11:25Speaker 3: hundred percent, depending on a babysitter slash grandma's schedule. So
- 11:30Speaker 3: we'll see.
- 11:32Speaker 2: That's awesome. Well, thanks for coming tonight. It means a
- 11:35Speaker 2: lot to us. You've just been It's like so cool.
- 11:39Speaker 2: As I said, we just checked up on you the
- 11:42Speaker 2: other day and like you're just it's so awesome to
- 11:44Speaker 2: see us a mom, thank you, to see you out
- 11:46Speaker 2: they're doing your thing, and to see you tonight just
- 11:48Speaker 2: hanging out with all of us.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Appreciated.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Thanks for coming.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
