- 0:24Welcome inside the Treehouse Football Podcast along with Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma, I
- 0:34am Daniel Malley. There's another week of the playoffs in which our Cowboys are
- 0:40non existent, having been bounced prematurely. But there's anything we're used to as
- 0:46Cowboys fans, it's you know, being premature. They're despite the fact that
- 0:54the Cowboys are not currently playing, that has never stopped the media train,
- 0:58or the Cowboys trained, the Cowboys hype train, whatever it is that is
- 1:02always running twenty four to seven. It still continues even in the second week
- 1:07of their non existent playoff contention. And that is this lovely statement, this
- 1:17interview that Jerry Jones gave at the Senior Bowl in Alabama, in which he
- 1:23set and I quote, I would anticipate, with looking ahead at our key
- 1:29contracts that we'd like to address, we will be all in talking about the
- 1:34twenty twenty four season. I would anticipate we will be all in at the
- 1:40end of this year. So when you say there is any thought we will
- 1:42push the hell out of it, it will be going all in on different
- 1:47people than you've done in the past. We will be going all in.
- 1:49We've seen some things out of some of the players that we want to be
- 1:53all in on. Yes, I would say that you will see us this
- 1:57coming year, not building for the future. It's the best way I've ever
- 2:01said. And that ought to answer a lot of questions, which leads a
- 2:06lot of people to ask the question is if you're all in this year,
- 2:09what have you been doing. Yeah, that's a lot of all ins.
- 2:14Uh, that's a lot. That's a lot of all ins. We're all
- 2:20in this year. Well what were you doing before? How do you think
- 2:23some of these teams won their Super Bowls because they went all in because they
- 2:28realized, you know what, we have a pretty solid chance here. We
- 2:30think we got a solid team. Let's go all in. Or he and
- 2:36he maybe you know, maybe he's telegraphing that he's all in. He's going
- 2:40to completely screw the salary cap because he's gonna sign anyone and everyone because like
- 2:45this is gonna be his last year's GM and then he's retiring maybe and I
- 2:53know, hey, he's dying in that office. I would agree, Uh,
- 3:00next year. And and and Raj you were you weren't on the Football
- 3:05podcast last week, but Trey and I concluded that Jerry Jones is not competing
- 3:10against the rest of the NFL when it comes to putting a team on the
- 3:15field, signing contracts, coaches, whatever. He's competing with death. Yeah,
- 3:21that's and that's a hell that's a hell of a motivator. And we
- 3:23think that that's the approach. Finally, is that he's realizing with every season
- 3:28that ticks off that he hasn't won another Super Bowl, he's one season closer
- 3:31to dying without hoisting that trophy one last time. Yeah. I mean,
- 3:37you know, when you get to that much money, I think you can
- 3:39stick around as long as you feel like it. M hm, you know,
- 3:45like that right there is one of the things that drives me nuts because
- 3:47I've seen it on social media. For you know, since social media was
- 3:51really a thing, and before social media was a thing, we were still
- 3:53complaining about Jerry Jones, the GM post, you know, Jimmy Johnson and
- 3:58Super Bowl dying era, and then even more so now you get people screaming
- 4:05at the end of every season it's Jerry the gym. It's Jerry the gym.
- 4:09We have to get rid of Jerry the gym. No, you can't.
- 4:11You have to get over that argument because it's not going to happen.
- 4:13The man owns the team, he can do what he wants. It's the
- 4:15same way that you get to do whatever it is you want to do in
- 4:17your house. At your house. You want to be the gym in the
- 4:20house, cool, You want your wife to be the gym in the house.
- 4:21Fine, you want to have your life run by mother or whatever.
- 4:28Get over that. And I even saw it again this last week. We
- 4:30got to get rid of Jerry. Stop it, it ain't gonna happen.
- 4:33Just be happy that he's relinquished a little bit of that power and control to
- 4:38Stephen and a lot of it to Will McLay and that's been a gigantic step.
- 4:42Yeah. But I think the problem is I think when he, you
- 4:45know, took over the team one in fifteen, I think there were seven
- 4:47to nine the next season, and that's when the Super Bowl run started.
- 4:51So I think he was like this is this formula works? But that was
- 4:57right preset recap. He could money with the team like that is I have,
- 5:02really I have thought about this Jerry Jones' tenure. I mean as as
- 5:11owner and GM I mean, yes, revolutionary owner, he'll but when you
- 5:16he introduced the salary cap. But it is and it has haunted him ever
- 5:19since because made a lot of money. He made a lot of money,
- 5:23but he's done great with business. But they have a one. I mean,
- 5:26Roger, I don't know if you did you hear this stat the only
- 5:29two there's only two teams that haven't played in the from the NFC that haven't
- 5:34played in the Super Bowl this century. Huh huh, I haven't heard this,
- 5:41you know, one of them? Yeah? And the commanders, Oh
- 5:49gotcha? Okay, that's sad. Yeah, I mean again, I'm gonna
- 5:57go back to saying this. I think he saw the formula word and he
- 6:00was like, I'm gonna keep doing this and I'm not gonna change because we're
- 6:02gonna win next year. He's the same as us. When he he wakes
- 6:06up and goes, you know what, next year is our year. He
- 6:10does the same thing we do. Oh yeah, he does. He absolutely
- 6:13does, and he says, you know that. That's why they have the
- 6:15the you know, the press conference at the beginning of training camp each year.
- 6:18It's a state of the Cowboys and dress all right, here's what we're
- 6:20gonna do this year. This year's all right, We're gonna We're gonna do
- 6:24some things. We're gonna do some exciting things. We have some exciting players,
- 6:26blah blah blah. And then there's the there's the graphic, there's the
- 6:29meme. We've all seen that. The cycle starts again, and then we
- 6:31you know, go through and we end up, you know, dropping out
- 6:33the playoffs, getting her ask kicked. Yeah. So, I mean,
- 6:36I think when people say Jerry the GM like, we have to get rid
- 6:41of that, it's because that formula hasn't worked in so long that but you
- 6:46are right, he's not giving up. And both of you are right.
- 6:48He's not giving up that office because he doesn't have to. And and that
- 6:53then by saying it, you're living in fantasy land. You you have a
- 6:57better chance at finding an antique bottle saucer thing, whatever the hell that thing
- 7:04is called, that a genie pops out of after you rub it. You
- 7:08find one of those, you find those little lamps, you find one of
- 7:11those old like Sumatrian Babylonian lamps, and you rub the ever love and shit
- 7:17out of it and hope to God a genie pops out that will grant you
- 7:20wishes. And one of those can be that Jerry Jones is no longer the
- 7:25GM. Until that happens, just you have to you have to accept it.
- 7:30You just have or you can just be mad at the wind. Yeah,
- 7:33and RAJ you know there and you just said something about the formula,
- 7:38his form But many would argue he wasn't the GM during the glory days of
- 7:43the Cowboys. It was Jimmy that was the GM, and that ultimately is
- 7:46why they broke up, is Jerry wanted the credit because he was writing the
- 7:49checks, but it was Jimmy making the decisions. So Jerry really as GM
- 7:55is just utter failure. Yes, I mean, but that was the clash
- 7:58of egos, right, Like that's why they lasted three years. And then
- 8:01you had Barry Switzer come in because he was that guy, and it was
- 8:05great to hear that part of the the thing where when when Switzer showed up,
- 8:07he's like, where's Jimmy and he's like he's at home. Was like,
- 8:11well, you need to call him to come in today. He goes,
- 8:13no, no, you're you're here for this job. That's how incompetent
- 8:18ras Switzer was uh like he didn't even know what he was interviewing for,
- 8:22which I thought. Jerry Jones said, basically he could hire a monkey and
- 8:26then win a Super Bowl with that team, and and he did also before
- 8:33we skip over this very excellent placement, Uh, mister Malley of of Sumatra,
- 8:37by the way, you just wanted to throw that in there, Like
- 8:41Sumatra doesn't get dropped a lot. We're not entirely low brow in this tree.
- 8:46Sometime we're higher up. Just keep in mind that just because we we
- 8:52tend to swing low doesn't mean we don't have the ability to go high.
- 8:56We tend to hang out down here where it's more fun. Yeah, I
- 9:01mean we can we can still mention balk springs in the same in the same
- 9:03bit as Sumatra. I'm sure, well we can still we can still go
- 9:07up and down on that. So absolutely, I think it's very comparable to
- 9:11say that Sumatra saxy, Babylon balk spring Sure, tomato tomato. Yeah,
- 9:20I just uh, I love the all in. Let's see, I mean
- 9:24what he's got to back that up, right, So he can't run from
- 9:28that comment now because he's he said all in sixteen times he did. I
- 9:31mean when you say all in that often, you start you start wondering,
- 9:35you start asking questions, even though he's trying to say that that should answer
- 9:39lots of questions. And I do get the one thing that he the the
- 9:43serious nugget that he's saying is a lot of the moves that they've been doing
- 9:46in recent years. And to me, he's talking about, you know,
- 9:50giving that more controlled to Stephen Jones, Will McLay, they're more future oriented
- 9:54because they're not about to die he is, so he's having to shift their
- 9:58thinking into I'm going going to die soon, and I want to do this
- 10:03one more time before I die. After I die, you guys can go
- 10:05back and doing things quote unquote for the future. But in the meantime,
- 10:09it's a Jerry trying to gm from his own coffin. And how old does
- 10:15he? I mean, you're very certain that he's about to die. I'm
- 10:18just saying I'm not. He seems to be. He seems to be certain
- 10:22because in recent years he's like, Okay, we're gonn build for the future.
- 10:26But now he's sing on now, we're up now, now, now,
- 10:28now, we're all in for twenty twenty four. So either he got
- 10:33a bad report from his doctor or maybe he put himself on his own Deadpool
- 10:39list, and and maybe his ultimate dream is to win the super Bowl in
- 10:48twenty twenty four and as he hoists the Lombardi Trophy over his head, he
- 10:54collapses and dies. Okay, I was going to the super parade is also
- 11:00his funeral? Yes? Yes, tell me. And if that's the case,
- 11:05the horse drawn carriage of Jerry's body in that parade and he'll be stiff
- 11:11as a board. And I'm not talking about his entire body. Yeah,
- 11:15he will be that excited to not only have won the super Bowl but have
- 11:18a parade that could also be doubling as his funeral. Yeah, gotcha.
- 11:24And I or he's gonna have to be because he went all in so many
- 11:28times. He's got to do like either he he he gets there or he
- 11:33has to die. So maybe he's like, man, we're eight and eight,
- 11:37I'm gonna have to kill myself now. I don't know if he'd go
- 11:41to I don't know. I don't know if he go to that extent,
- 11:43I could see him sacrificing Jerry Jr. Yeah, Which, again, my
- 11:50buddy Fonzo brings up a great point Fundsi Crow a great comment. He's like
- 11:54he didn't name his first son Junior. No, that's a weird that's a
- 11:58weird thing to do. He was like, the first one is like he
- 12:01doesn't deserve it, And well, the weird thing would be if he was
- 12:05to actually sacrifice Jerry Junior and then dedicate the team, dedicates the remainder of
- 12:09the season. They turned things around when the Super Bowl hypothetically and all the
- 12:13banners in the merge still get to say do it for Jerry, and he's
- 12:16still, Oh, yeah, that's a solid I mean, that's why,
- 12:20that's why you're the marketing genius that you aren't. That's that's a that's a
- 12:22good move. Junior is just like in a little it's like just like right
- 12:26at the bottom of Jerry. It's like it's like it's like the tiny asterisk
- 12:31next tool instead of TM, it's JJ. So going back real quick to
- 12:41Jerry Jones at the Senior Bowl talking about how they're finally going to go all
- 12:46in on this upcoming NFL season. They also asked him in his press conference
- 12:50about, of course, Mike McCarthy, and he talked about part of the
- 12:54reason why they decided to keep him. Oh, a pretty good move.
- 12:56Four years ago when my course and he's had some great in season success.
- 13:03M Now he's come up short three times three times and advanced us in the
- 13:09playoffs. Okay, but I like the fact that he's hanging around the rim,
- 13:15and I like what the team has done to hang around the rim.
- 13:20So I think of what the answer that I would have is that I'm wearing
- 13:24that we're hanging around the rim. We're not getting the ball in, but
- 13:28we're be't hanging around the rim. Let's don't Okay, he's not well,
- 13:33right, are you? Okay, yeah, he's Look is he giving a
- 13:39basketball analogy? He is? And I'll address that more here momentary. Okay,
- 13:43I'm yeah, yeah, of what the answer that I would have is
- 13:50that I'm aware of that we're hanging around the rim. We're not getting the
- 13:54ball in, but we're be't hanging around the rim. Let's don't discount hanging
- 14:01around the rim and where we are right now with the players we've got,
- 14:05and I'm thinking about it from the whole. Look, the real question is
- 14:11is I'm not doing what I was doing thirty years ago. I'm not doing
- 14:16what I was doing twenty years ago. On a personal basis, I think
- 14:20about a lot of things differently. That's important because if I were doing the
- 14:24very same things over the last thirty years, twenty years, Okay, then
- 14:31as you looked at the whole report card, the report cards, you're seeing
- 14:33about winning in the playoffs, I don't like there's some other parts of the
- 14:39report card. That's what you do, so hope you too. So from
- 14:46there you get a couple of things. Yes, Trey, he is doing
- 14:50the basketball analogy to discuss football. At the end he refers to, you
- 14:56know, getting a report card, you know, from the playoffs and not
- 14:58liking that. And the other thing I'm left with is this, with so
- 15:05much talk about Jerry saying they're all in for the next season, and all
- 15:09this talk here about being around the rim, around the rim, around the
- 15:13rim, it sounds to me like Jerry's ultimately saying, for the last almost
- 15:20thirty years, we've just been playing just the tip and this year we're going
- 15:26all in. Yeah, around the rim. I'm just trump. I want
- 15:31Jerry Jones as the new Republican you know candidate. Can you imagine a Biden
- 15:37Jones debate? Yeah, that was Oh please don't do that to me,
- 15:43come on, Yeah, that that would be It would be never ending.
- 15:48Yeah, exactly. I don't know who moderates, who's got that much free
- 15:54time? You know what, I know who does. I was gonna say
- 16:07Charles osgood, But that's just because he just died, just sticking right there
- 16:12in the chair and it won't matter. Yeah, and you gotta give I
- 16:17mean, you got to give Jerry some credit here, Like he said around
- 16:19the rim and all in so many times that you got to give him credit.
- 16:25He still has the wherewithal to not mess up and go all in my
- 16:27rim, because that would have just been I mean, that would have just
- 16:33thrown everybody off. We're gonna go all in a rim. I don't know
- 16:36what you I don't know what. I don't even think we're talking about football
- 16:38anymore. Well, you know, you're talking about the same guy that during
- 16:41one of those preseason press conferences saying that he wanted some glory hole that maybe
- 16:48he is telling us so that that then begs the question once again, if
- 16:55you were this coming season going to be all in, what was what was
- 17:00the gloryhole comment going into that season? Like? Is that not all in?
- 17:04That's just again you're just playing just a tip through the bathroom wall.
- 17:11What was it Porky's is that the the is that the bathroom? Yeah,
- 17:15that's that's That's what I envisioned. It's what I think. That's what he
- 17:18was. He was he was thinking when he said that. That was his
- 17:22Porky's moment. He was he was grabbing it was Quincy Carter. On the
- 17:26other end, you're in the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse on Air
- 17:44dot com. M you're listening to the tree House. Visit us online that
- 17:57tree House on Air. Welcome back inside the Treehouse Football Podcast. Oh man,
- 18:10I do enjoy. I do enjoy these football shows, and the also
- 18:15enjoy the regular Treehouse episodes that we do for the most it's almost it for
- 18:18the most part, but that's what we do mostly or the other shows.
- 18:22Uh, speaking of which, you want to make sure you are tuned in
- 18:26and subscribed and liked and followed and on all the plot all the podcasting platforms,
- 18:33go to Treehouse on Air dot com because next week, leading up to
- 18:40the Super Bowl, we will be on five days a week, five days
- 18:42a week. I haven't a zeroed in on on exactly what to call it,
- 18:48but something along the lines of the Treehouse super Week or instead of uh
- 18:53a Treehouse super Bowl week, it's Treehouse stupid Bowl whatever, whatever the you
- 19:00know combination that falls in on the artwork. Just know that February fifth through
- 19:07the ninth, we will be on every single day chalking up all sorts of
- 19:12stupid and then and then on Monday the twelfth, the day after the Super
- 19:21Bowl, we will make the very bold attempt to go live. We are
- 19:25going to attempt bill O'Reilly on Monday the twelfth, in which we say fuck
- 19:32it, we'll do it live. And also also on that day, also
- 19:36that same day, Monday, after we do it live, it will also
- 19:38drop in its normal fashion. If you know, for some reason you can't
- 19:41make the live portion of the show, it'll still be released later that afternoon,
- 19:45just like the previous week. So Treehouse five days a week next week,
- 19:48starting Monday, February fifth, going through the Friday. Then we'll take
- 19:52the weekend off as normal people do because we enjoy that, and then back
- 19:55Monday, possibly live on the twelfth, the day after thequote unquote big Game.
- 20:02Pretty cool. I think I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, especially
- 20:07leading up to the super Bowl week with knowing what an interesting couple of games
- 20:15we had for the conference championships. So in a nutshell, the Ravens sucked
- 20:22ass. Therefore, the Kansas City Swifties are moving on to the super Bowl.
- 20:27And then on the other side of things, on the NFC side,
- 20:32Detroit started out really, really good and then we got to see possibly the
- 20:37difference between aggressive and stubborn when it comes to Dan Campbell, coach of the
- 20:44Lions against the forty nine Ers, in which the forty nine Ers come back
- 20:48and win thirty four to thirty one despite the fact that halftime the Lions were
- 20:52up twenty four to seven. Oh my god, of those two games whitched
- 20:56out to you more Dan Campbell's aggressive slash stubbornness, or how utterly terrible Lamar
- 21:03Jackson looked in that game against the Chiefs. Which one are you going with,
- 21:07Trey Baltimore. I've Lamar Jackson is just such an amazing talent, and
- 21:12that that offense and that team has been so good all year, and they
- 21:17looked scared, tight, scared. I don't I don't know which what which
- 21:22one you want to use? But it looked like they looked like a three
- 21:26and fourteen team that somehow had snuck their way into that title game in the
- 21:33Ravens jerseys, in the bodies of players we recognize as Ravens players because watching
- 21:37part of that game. I even told Terry, my wife, when Lamar
- 21:41Jackson throws that one pick in the end zone in the middle of triple coverage,
- 21:45like, there are rookie quarterbacks that wouldn't make that idiotic throw, and
- 21:51there he was doing it. It was. It was bad, bad,
- 21:53very bad. And yeah, I don't think I don't. Yeah, I
- 21:56didn't last very long in that game. I think that Peter did. Neither
- 21:59did Yeah, I think I kind of saw. I mean you can tell,
- 22:06right, you can always look and go, oh, yeah, they've
- 22:07given up. And it was very early on in that game for me,
- 22:11and I was like, oh, yeah, they're done. And then the
- 22:15just just the sad is the blowout. I was like, all right,
- 22:18So which was more Which was more shocking to you, raj the Baltimore letdown
- 22:23of that game or the Lion's aggressive, slash stubborn nature to allow forty nine
- 22:29ers back into it. I have a buddy mine who lives in Detroit,
- 22:32and I love to bust his balls about the city. And so when the
- 22:37city makes it quite easy. Yeah, when they were up, I would
- 22:41say it was twenty four to seven at the half, twenty one seven twenty
- 22:45four. This the I'll read the message I sent. H hold on,
- 22:51I said, I pulled it up. I go, I hope, I
- 22:56hope they make a comeback because I want to see all the joy sucked out
- 22:57of your city. And then once again, once again, the Raj curse
- 23:07was in Yep. And then when when they won, I called and I
- 23:11go, hey man, even though I was out and watching the game,
- 23:14I called and I go, hey man, I'm dude, I don't know
- 23:15what happened. My TV went out. Can you I didn't even get to
- 23:19watch the last half. Can you tell me what happened? Like? What's
- 23:22what was the score? And I made him literally tell me the entire last
- 23:26half of the game. You know what, I'm starting to now believe that
- 23:29you Raj are the genie and the lamp. And the difference is you don't
- 23:34allow anybody else to rub you. You just rub yourself, You pop out,
- 23:38grant your own wish, and then you crawl back inside. That is
- 23:41that in very much in Sumatra. But yes, I but I did,
- 23:48because you know, it's just it's it's two buddies, and he's got he
- 23:52wins because he grew up in California in like an hour, not even an
- 23:57hour. I think it was a mile and a half away from Candle Stick.
- 24:00But he moved to Detroit to do the radio show. That's where he's
- 24:03been for the last twenty years. So he was gonna win either way,
- 24:08but he was legitimately rooting for. So that was the game I paid the
- 24:12most attention to because I wanted I wanted to watch. You wanted to hurt
- 24:17your friend. I get it, I did, you know, as guys
- 24:18do. I just wanted to make sure that he he knew that I loved
- 24:22him by saying that your city sucks and and he gets but you know it
- 24:27is in his defense. He goes, so, how are the Cowboys doing?
- 24:30I was like, buddy, they go to the Super Bowl every year,
- 24:33and maybe that's right. Maybe next year they don't have to buy a
- 24:36ticket, Like that's all I said, Next year they'll actually play the two
- 24:44or year? Did you think stood out the most? Honestly, it really
- 24:48It really was how poorly the Ravens played. And now that being said,
- 24:56the drops that the Lions had in that game to not be able to to
- 25:00put the game or it's like, oh, it's a tough call. But
- 25:03I'm always going to say the more shocking side is when you have an elite
- 25:07style, an elite quarterback just absolutely crap the field in a massive game like
- 25:17that, and that's and that's what happened with Lamar and Jackson to me.
- 25:19To me, that's more shocking because to me, they were the favorite going
- 25:22into that game just based on you know, on what quote unquote should have
- 25:26been. But once again we learn you can never count out Kansas City because
- 25:32they know how to win and they clearly keep doing it, even when at
- 25:37points in the season people didn't think that they were capable. Well, here
- 25:40they are again. And then I got to give credit to the forty nine
- 25:47ers. And every time I see you know, Christian McCaffrey play, I'm
- 25:52impressed. Every time I see Rock Purdy play, I'm impressed. I feel
- 25:56sorry for him to a certain extent that he gets paid less than arch manning
- 26:02the backup quarterback that Texas does this year, but he's he's going to get
- 26:07his payday. But still that's got a sting. I don't understand why everyone
- 26:14hates on brock Party so badly. Like it's like it's such a he's mister
- 26:21irrelevant. He's the last guy in the draft and and he's about to play
- 26:23in a super Bowl. It's actually a pretty cool story and it's an amazing
- 26:30story. You're right. There are people that go like they don't want to
- 26:33give him any credit. He's just the game manager type. There's all these
- 26:37people around him. It's Kyle Shanahan the coach, it's McCaffrey the running back,
- 26:41it's Deebo Samuel, it's it's this and it's that. But this is
- 26:45a he's a good quarterback. Like there was on social media. There was
- 26:48a play, one of the big plays in the week before where it was
- 26:52on McCaffrey's touchdown run the week before and there was supposed to be a tight
- 26:56end motion and these other things and he killed. He's like, no,
- 27:00no, no, you stay where you are. And one he I believe
- 27:03he audibled into the run and then it was supposed to have a tight end
- 27:06motion and he's like, no, this play is going to work without it.
- 27:10You just stay put, and it tight end stays put and McCaffrey runs
- 27:11for a touchdown. That's him, that's the quarterback, you know, making
- 27:15that call. So I'm with you. It's I think some people, Tray,
- 27:18they just they just for some reason want to knock the guy down a
- 27:21couple of pegs. But at the end of the day, if they win
- 27:22the Super Bowl, they really they really don't have a leg to stand on
- 27:26with that type of argument. Yeah, And I'm just you know, I'm
- 27:30I'm hoping that they do win and Taylor Swift leaves Travis Kelcey for Brockbardy.
- 27:37I think that would be I think that would be the story. I'm just
- 27:45you're watching the genie making the prediction. I'm so so just now as a
- 27:49Trey and Erra talking, you were rubbing yourself and you popped out of your
- 27:52lamp and go, okay, you're willing this to happen. Now, yes,
- 27:56let's say I was rubbing myself. Uh so, thousands of people can
- 28:00hear that. That's great, I rubbed my lamp that I dwell in.
- 28:08And I say that Taylor Swift leaves if if the Niners, you know,
- 28:15are successful, Taylor Swift, I don't think that that would you know,
- 28:18Look, she doesn't need anything that he's got. He technically didn't need anything
- 28:23she's got. He's already successful in his right. She's clearly beyond successful in
- 28:27hers. Yeah, but I did notice on one of the podcast news things
- 28:33that I follow that for the first time that I've seen it number one on
- 28:38both Spotify and Apple podcasts, it was The Kelsey's podcast New Heights number one
- 28:45in both, and typically Rogan wins number one on Spotify and then on Apple
- 28:49It's it's a usually a couple of different ones that rotate around, but not
- 28:52once have I seen their show number one, and this last week they were.
- 28:56They were number one in both spots. Well, that's because the the
- 29:00I Love Yous were captured and so that that was that was that put them
- 29:03back up on there, the highest pedalstal that you can have. So I'm
- 29:07you guys look at her and go, oh my god, what a great
- 29:11pop star. And in my head, I'm like, what if she's super
- 29:14sinister and this is her whole plan is to destroy because his brother retired,
- 29:19right, so she so that's he's done. So what if she's secretly started
- 29:25out with like I'm gonna I'm gonna destroy the Kelsey like that, that's that's
- 29:29in my head. That's the that's the movie I'm watching. If she had
- 29:34been successful in doing that with the previous guy she dated, I'd be one
- 29:37hundred percent with you because she like everyone knows that she and Jake Jillen Hall
- 29:42dated. But he seems to be doing just fine. He's in the Roadhouse
- 29:45remake so bad. I've got, uh, what was it? The DJ
- 29:51almost said Calvin Hobbes, but the the Harris, thank you Calvin Harris.
- 30:02I don't. I don't think he's worse for the wear. I'm sure there's
- 30:06others that I'm forgetting about that are doing just fine. She didn't destroy them.
- 30:11No, in my In the movie that I'm watching in my head is
- 30:14she's like, oh God, this is this is who, this is who
- 30:17I take out. I took out one brother just retired, and now I
- 30:21got to take this one out. And then the reveal is she's been with
- 30:25brock Party the whole time. Like that's the movie that I see. Yeah,
- 30:27Okay, that's that's a that's a hell of a twist, and that
- 30:30sounds like it would be number one on the Lifetime channel. Did y'all see
- 30:34the report that they put a number on her economic impact. There's three hundred
- 30:41and thirty million dollars. Yeah, but's economy or to the NFL. Oh
- 30:48oh no, I did not see that. Yeah, so and then you
- 30:52know of course that everyone then it starts, oh my god, if you
- 30:55don't believe it's fake, look at this. And that's a big number.
- 30:59But that's two per said of the NFL's annual revenue. I mean it's just
- 31:03one, but one person did. I mean, like, that's impressed.
- 31:06If two percent and it's it's just you that did that, that's impressive.
- 31:11Like I gotta give her credit for that, Like she I think she's great.
- 31:15I think, uh, they legitimately I've just been joking about that,
- 31:18but like legitimately I see the love there and like they exchange the exchange that
- 31:22I love you. The conspiracy theories are weird, like the thirteen or the
- 31:26eleven or something weird, uh number that people are thrown out that there's some
- 31:33theory. If you say the conspiracy theories are weird, then I I just
- 31:37I just don't get, like I I know, because I don't understand like
- 31:41the mathematics behind it. They're like it's all about the number thirteen I'm like,
- 31:45I don't know what, Like, I don't know what. I don't
- 31:48know what that means. I just uh, I just know that Donald Trump
- 31:51said he's going to wage a holy war on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey if
- 31:57under what religion, because I don't think he's a actually subscribe to one.
- 32:06Yeah, other than other than the religion of him, but which is which
- 32:12has served him well. But I've never understood the whole look like, if
- 32:17you have any idea about her, I don't like getting the political stuff,
- 32:22but she ain't voting for him. I don't. I don't even know why.
- 32:28I know why he says it, but there's that's not even irrelevant.
- 32:30That's just to me. To me, that's sort of like a like there's
- 32:35someone that is an acquaintance of mine that slammed Taylor Swift's hair after the game,
- 32:40and he's you know, it's it's the standard. It's a standard bitter
- 32:44white guy thing. It's like, I hate this. I was like,
- 32:47God, get over it. It's not that bad. You know what it
- 32:51is. It's people that don't like seeing other people happy. Yes, oh
- 32:57my god, they're happy. That makes me angry. That says a lot
- 33:00more about you than it does about them. Yeah, and if you look
- 33:02at the actual I think somebody posted it, the actual amount of time that
- 33:08they filmed her, I think is under two minutes. I believe, like
- 33:14just them cutting back every time there was a celebratory touchdown or there was something
- 33:17you know, he you know, caught a pass or whatever it was.
- 33:21I think the total amount of I think it was less than two minutes that
- 33:23everybody's making well that's all the NFL is and I was just Taylor Swift.
- 33:27I'm like, it was two minutes out of an entire game. Yeah,
- 33:30they they they do cutaway shots. I mean, the only difference is whether
- 33:36you know it's some guy in stands it's Taylor Swift and the Kelsey's oh no
- 33:40and yeah yeah, I by mums. Yeah, I used to. I
- 33:45used to always love when like the camera guy would focus on one cheerleader or
- 33:51one girl in the stands and I'm like, oh, yeah, he's got
- 33:52a thing, like he's crushing on this girl. Like now they're like,
- 33:57hey, can you cut the Swift. He's like no, but I gotta
- 33:59put my chin I'm like no, no, no, that's going to do
- 34:00more for the NFL. And that's if it's bringing a whole new audience of
- 34:06younger kids that normally wouldn't watch the NFL, that's cool too, I am.
- 34:12I am kind of fascinated. There was a thing I saw a couple
- 34:15of months ago when they came out that they were first dating or whatever,
- 34:19and that was the possibility of the economic impact if not only they got married,
- 34:27but you know how birth rates are recently been in decline because gen Z
- 34:32is like, hey, we're kind of pumping the brakes on the whole kids
- 34:35thing, blah blah blah. Where whereas if they were to get married or
- 34:37even just have a kid, that would reverse the birth rates in America.
- 34:42And next thing, you know, it's going to be the second baby boom
- 34:45generation. Wow. That that's some that's some amazing power to have. And
- 34:52and the the guess was, you know, economic impact in the billions.
- 34:59Wow. Okay, Hey, you know, if it's good, if it's
- 35:01good, if it's good for my four oh one k, then get to
- 35:05find it. That's the youngest thing you've ever said, just calling it like
- 35:20I see it. Don't be mad because other people are happy. Think about
- 35:27how it could positively impact you. Then you'll be fine. We'll see you
- 35:34tomorrow for the Friday episode of the Treehouse
