- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Hello everybody and welcome back by Very Unpopular Demand.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: This is Alex Brasky Unfiltered, your first stop for raw, honest Buffalo Bills takes and much, much more.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Boy, boy, boy, is it good to be back.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: A very lengthy hiatus from the airwaves for myself.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, had to focus on some other opportunities.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Now have more time clear to focus back on this podcasting sphere.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Uh, that is a very, very wide world in the Bills media sphere.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: So excited to rejoin the fray and hoping you can follow along throughout the season as I bring my uncensored perspective to the airwaves, and I think a little bit different perspective than maybe you're used to hearing on these shows each week on the various networks, along with the various content creators that do a great, great job as well.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Thanks for everyone for their support, uh, sharing and and doing their best to get the word out about this first show, hoping that as we go, the viewership grows and grows, and we're able to get somewhat of an audience here uh as the season gets closer and closer to week one.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: About a month away, Bill's gearing up for training camp, of course, on July 29th.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: So a lot to be excited about, a lot to get to, uh, but really excited to be back and excited for all of you to join me here on Alex Brasky Unfiltered.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: This past season had my previous venture, Buffalo pregame, a little bit disrupted.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: So wanted to kind of rebrand things and and and really make things more identifiable, I guess, across the landscape and and and bring things to you from a different point of view than I've offered.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: And I I think a lot of people uh on the beat and otherwise offer.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: So uh now that I'm back, I I feel that I'm going to bring a fresh perspective.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: It's really been forged through probably what's been the most challenging year of my life, not to make light of it.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Uh I'd I'd first like to thank all those who have really stuck by me throughout this past year.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Your support has really meant a lot and continues to mean a lot as I take on this new venture uh in the podcasting sphere.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Uh the obstacles I've faced over the past year have really been self-inflicted, and I take full responsibility while I continue to work on being the best person I can be.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I can't promise to be perfect, can't promise that I will be perfect in the future.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Uh, everybody makes mistakes, and no one, in my view, works harder uh to really better themselves on a day-to-day basis than I do.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: That doesn't mean I always get it right, doesn't mean I always react correctly, but I do always have the sense of trying, as I said, to work toward being a better person every day.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And as I said before, I'm I'm very grateful for everyone who stuck by me through thick and thin and and really allowed me to come out the other side still intact uh within this talking Buffalo kind of world that we live in.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Uh Bills, the Bills are so popular in in Western New York and beyond, and their popularity has only grown over the years with the success that they've had with Sean McDermott at head coach and Josh Allen at quarterback.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: So uh really grateful to still be a part of it and and have uh a few people following along with my work and and continuing to read uh my stuff on bills on SI and joining me here for Alex Brasky Unfiltered.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: But looking back on training camp last year, I I still feel I got a raw deal from the Bills.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: I don't think I'll ever not feel that way, and I'd be lying to you if I if I said I felt otherwise.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: And if you think that that's not the right way to feel, well, I I really don't give a damn.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: I've done a lot of reflecting, I've done a lot of soul searching and and reached out to other people and gained perspective on the situation.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: And I feel how I feel.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Uh I I lived through it, and while I took people behind the scenes a bit through my social media posts, I don't think anyone truly understands what happened, what I went through, the dynamic between myself and the team at that time.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And maybe we can get a little bit deeper as the podcast goes, but my position on that will never change.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: And I'll always have somewhat of an axe to grind when it comes to the communications department and the way I was treated by its vice president.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: But that does not mean that I can't share, as I said before, honest takes about the Buffalo Bills.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I did feel previously on the beat, and for obvious reasons that have now played out, that I couldn't necessarily take the gloves off and share my, as I said before, and as the show is is so called, my unfiltered perspective as I've wanted to in the past.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: And uh now I'm I'm very excited to do that.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Had a lot of good times on the beat.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: I'm still friends with some of those that I've shared the media room with over the years.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: So I've learned from the past several months uh to not allow the decision of one of the worst run departments within an organization throughout professional sports dictate how I remember my time covering the team on site.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: So, in other words, F them, we're moving on.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Bigger, brighter future, bigger, better than ever.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: I digress, no sweat sense in uh dwelling on the past.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I'm here today, moving forward, and and like I said, learning from my mistakes, growing every day, and growing with you, the listeners here on Alex Brasky Unfiltered.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Got a couple commenters filtering in already.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Mafia Sports Report.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Be sure to follow them on YouTube as well.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the podcast game man.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: You have now entered the wild world of Bill's podcast.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: I've been around the block before, had uh my first podcast right here, right now with my former employer, then transitioned to Buffalo pregame to start last season.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: And now I'm back with, as I said multiple times, a different point of view here with Alex Brasky unfiltered.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: And we got another commenter as well.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Go Bill's baby for sure.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: Hopefully they can uh figure things out this season, and we'll we'll get to that uh here in a moment.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: But it it's really going to be interesting to see what we get from this team this season because it there's really no telling what to expect with a new head coach, uh Brandon Bean getting promoted, and and so many seismic changes throughout the organization.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: It's really, really going to be interesting to see.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: And we're going to have to wait around for training camp, the preseason week one to come around.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna have to let things develop as much as we don't want to, and as much as I'm still going to be here sharing my opinions, uh whether it's it's week one or or week 10 or the playoffs.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: It might take a little while for us to figure out what this team is all about with Joe Brady entering his first season at head coach Josh Allen, stepping into even more of a leadership role, a new defensive coordinator in Jim Leonard, and then all the changes that Brandon Bean has made to the roster to see how those will work out.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: So a lot left to be determined, but at the same time, a lot to discuss before the team reaches training camp near the end of the month on July 29th.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: And before we get to the meat of the show, please like, share, and subscribe and subscribe.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Also, leave a comment as well.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: We've already had a few comments uh from the fans here that we have filing in slowly but surely.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, so be sure to leave a comment.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Like I said, like, share, subscribe, Alex Brasky Unfiltered on YouTube, wherever you get your podcasts, also on Substack.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: You can follow me on X at Alex Brasky and the show page at Alex Brasky Bills.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: But without further ado, let's get started.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: And just a quick little diatribe, I should say.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: I guess that's uh kind of an oxymoron, I think is the right word.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: But Brandon Bean's ascension within this organization, his promotion this offseason, Sean McDermott being kicked to the curb has never sat well with me, never made sense.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: And as many have have discussed ad nauseum throughout this offseason, Brandon Bean was the one who bought the groceries for Sean McDermott to go out there and cook the meal on the field.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: And for one of those men to suffer the falling axe and the other to still survive and not only survive, but to take on more responsibility within the organization, put even more of his fingerprints on the organization, doesn't make sense, doesn't sit well with me, and I don't think it's going to work out whatsoever for the Bills.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: I think they're headed down a very rough road here.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: And I think some of these moves that Bean has made this offseason just don't really make a lot of sense and aren't going to make significant improvements to the team as it so needs in this Super Bowl or bust era with Josh Allen at quarterback.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: You have Bradley Chubb coming in here.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Coming off an eight and a half sack season, that's fine.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: The ACL tear the year before, a great rebound year and probably better in terms of pass rushing ability than anything that the Bills had previously.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: But how high is his ceiling really at this stage of his career?
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Is he going to go out there and shock the world and come away with 10, 15 sacks?
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think so.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: I don't think he's going to go out there and impact the game on every play.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: So that's one of your biggest moves of the offseason on the side of the ball that you needed the most vast improvement.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: And I'm not so sure as your blue chip free agent piece, Bradley Chubb, is going to be nearly enough to take this team to the next level.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: And it just goes to show you what Brandon Bean's MO has become as general manager of the Buffalo Bills.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: Half measures, trying to tear off the band-aid as slowly as possible, make sure he secures his job for as long as possible, never going out on a limb, just playing things conservatively when you have the complete opposite mentality at the quarterback position, which is needed to make it to or win the Super Bowl.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Kind of that gunslinger mentality, that all or nothing.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: And Brandon Beans never had that, has never shown that.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Went out and traded for Stefan Diggs, fine trade, gave up a lot for him, went out and signed Von Miller, paid a heck of a lot of cash for not a lot of a return.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Maybe that scares him off, but you don't stop trying.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: You look at Howie Roseman in Philadelphia and how he continues to make kicks at the can, and you see how Philadelphia's uh fortune has kind of developed here over the years with Super Bowl championships.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: So if I have one bone to pick with this Bill's offseason, it's with everything that's happened with Brandon Bean from his promotion to his moves in free agency.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: And then you come to the draft when he bypasses clear top-tier wide receiver talent in the first round, whether it be trying to, like I said before, go all in, move up and get one of those guys at the top of the first round, or get one of the guys who fell toward the bottom half of the first round, i.e.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Omar Cooper Jr.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: of the Jets wasn't my favorite pick, but somebody like that to come in here and and be a surefire first round talent to impact this passing game that needs a boost this season.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: You got Skylar Bell in the fourth round, but typical Brandon Bean move, waiting till the fourth round for a wide receiver, is that going to be enough?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: Uh so at the end of the day, we're as I said to start the podcast, we're gonna have to wait and see with a lot of these moves.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: But at face value, when you look at kind of the tack that he took with the draft and and with the moderate moves in free agency, I understand the salary cap situation, but other teams always seem to find a way around it.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: And that's not to mention Bean is the one who set the bills up in this poor salary cap situation to begin with in the first place.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: So a lot of issues with what Bean has done, and I think he's really set the bills up for what could be a disastrous season.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Now, with Josh Allen at quarterback, I don't see that happening.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: I think the Bills still make the playoffs.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: I have yet to give a record prediction, but it's it's going to be somewhere in the realm of 11 to 12 wins.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: When you have a player like that who is capable of MVP level play, you're always going to be in the mix, and there's not enough great teams in the league right now that you go into deathly afraid of.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: The Bills have a tough schedule, I believe the eighth toughest in terms of strength of schedule from 2025.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: But is there a Tom Brady Patriots out there, a Peyton Manning Colts?
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think so.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Uh so as much as I'm not sold on Brandon Bean's moves this offseason, nor the Bills team as a whole, I think when you have Josh Allen at quarterback, as lazy as it sounds, you're going to have a chance in this league.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: And I don't want to say that they are at the level they've been the past few years, as it stands, my opinion today.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: They they've taken a step back, in my opinion, letting go of Sean McDermott, which I think was the right move, but replacing him with a neophyte head coach and Joe Brady, who I think is unqualified for the job.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: I'm just not so sure that the Bills have done enough to sell me on the fact that they have gotten any better at any position outside of perhaps wide receiver, but you look at what they had last year, and it it's they they had nowhere to go but up at the wide receiver position.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: So to say they improved at wide receiver, not saying much.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: So not sold on what Bean has done, not sold on what this team has.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: They're gonna have to prove it to me throughout the course of training camp and especially the preseason and the start of the regular season before I truly start believing in this team.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: But like I said before, Bill's head for training camp on July 29th.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: There's fewer practices at St.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: John Fisher this year.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: I believe I want to say eight instead of 11, which in my mind is the first step toward the end of training camp at St.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: John Fisher University.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: They've been there for, I believe, 20 plus years.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: The uh St.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: John Fisher has been great hosts.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: I totally enjoyed my time covering training camp there.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Uh spent a lot of time in the dining hall.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you that.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: The to-go containers, crafty move by me, in my opinion.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Some might say otherwise, really came in handy.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: I'm not a midday eater.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: I don't eat a heavy lunch.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: I don't really eat lunch at all.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: I eat a little bit throughout the day and then dinner.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: So eating those delicious meals during the day didn't really suit my lifestyle.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: So having the to-go containers in the dining hall at St.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: John Fisher University, unbelievable for my pocketbook, pocket uh excuse me, pocketbook during my time covering the team.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Took those home, ate those meals for dinner uh quite a few times.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Very, very good stuff there.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: But most teams in the NFL hold their training camp at their stadium.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: And with the Bills building this beautiful new stadium with all the amenities, the new locker room, they're going to want to hold training camp, at least most of it, at that new stadium moving forward.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: You mark my words.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it's going to happen as quickly as I'm imagining.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: Like, I think it might happen as soon as next year.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: The Bills just say, we're gonna have like two or three practices at Fisher and that's it.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: But I think sooner rather than later, St.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: John Fisher will no longer be holding hosting the Bills for training camp.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: And that's tough for Rochestarians.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I don't want to say that people are traveling from around the world and putting up camp in Rochester and spending all their time there and really improving the Chamber of Commerce, but there's no doubt the attention on Rochester helps.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Pittsford, New York, specifically, uh the different restaurants and and and dessert places that you can go to.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: No free publicity on this show.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: You can contact me, alexbrasky at gmail.com, if you'd like to sponsor the show.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, shameless plug there.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: But I think the bills are going to continue to scale things back.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: I think it's a travesty.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: I I truly do.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: I as the bills have gotten more and more successful, and I guess this is to be expected.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: This happens in every business.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: As the Bills have gotten more and more successful, they've ripped away the nostalgia, the the old school feel, the what your dad told you about the team.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And I think it's just horrendous.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: You look at teams like the Green Bay Packers, even the Pittsburgh Steelers, they do what they can to really hold on to every morsel of tradition that they have.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: And I know I'm I'm being a little preemptive here.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm forecasting, but if the Bills were to do this, it would just fall in line with some of the things that they've done lately.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: It's just been par, it would be, I should say, par for the course.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: Uh as the Bills have really gone from a lovable franchise to what I consider a money-grubbing team.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, you look at what they're doing with the stadium and and some of the other things that they've done throughout the years leading into this, uh, it's it's just become not what it used to be.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: And as I said, it's to be expected, and and some will say you can't fault them because it's their business.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: They paid this and that for the team.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: But fans have paid with their blood, sweat, and tears, for the lack of a better phrase, for years and years and years.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: And I think moving away from Rochester and training camp, which I think is coming, they've already scaled it back this year, taking some practices away.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: They're not returning to Rochester after the blue and red scrimmage.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: It's not a good sign for things to come if you're somebody who loves going to training camp in Rochester.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: And as someone who's experienced this firsthand, this is if they were to do this, it would be in an effort to limit access at uh St.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: John Fisher.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: You can get up close and personal with the players.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's it's easier for the media.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's just it's a great environment before the season kicks off.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: And uh the Bills organization is a group of control freaks, and uh I would be surprised if a few years from now we're still looking at training camp at St.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: John Fisher University.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: But enough about training camp and its location and my some may call them silly predictions.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Let's get to some comments before moving on to the play on the field.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Let's see.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: What do we have here?
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: We have growing up buffalo.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Real question are local media and content creators running interference for bean at this point.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Seems like a lot of puff pieces.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: Alright, I kind of mentioned this earlier, and this isn't to disparage anybody on the beat.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: Everybody's got a job to do, uh marching orders to follow, uh family to feed, themselves to feed.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Got to put food on the table, in other words.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: And you don't want to ruffle the feathers and jeopardize what is a great opportunity to cover an NFL team.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: So you kind of need to understand the environment that you're in and temper your questions accordingly, which I think some members of the beat who don't always offer the puff piece pieces and don't always toe the company line and do ask some tough questions, I think they've learned to do it in a way that the team isn't going to completely shut down and that still allows them to do their job.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: So as far as running interference for Bean, very difficult to do that in the Bills media dynamic.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: But I will say there are some great pros on the beat that do ask some tough questions and don't let Bean off the mat after his mistakes.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: They may not ask it in as an aggressive fashion as you may like.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: They may not press him as continuously as you may like, but at the same time, as I said, everybody has a job to do.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: And there are people on that beat that spent a lot have spent a lot more time on it than I ever did, that have learned to do things in the way that they need to, that coincides with everything else that they're asked to do.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: So that's the answer on that.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: And let's get back to the basis of the show, which is to talk about the Bills on the field.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Is the team better?
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Are they better off with Joe Brady, Jim Leonard's expected contributions, all on the table here over the next several minutes?
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: And then we'll get to something fun at the end.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: I hope y'all stick around for the last few minutes of the show.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: It'll become a staple of the show, and I think something that people are going to enjoy.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: One thing, my forehead's a little bit shiny.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Got to get that figured out for next show.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: These summer temperatures.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: I think I might have to start going into makeup before the show starts.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Maybe toning down the spotlight.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: Either way, when it comes to the Bills last season, Bills had a lot of problems.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: And I think Josh Allen did his best to cover them.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: James Cook, don't forget him, and the incredible year that he had, the rushing title, uh really carrying the Bills through some tough times and through some of Josh Allen's inconsistent play, which we'll talk about in a little while.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Joe Brady was one of those problems as well.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: He was not some shining light for the Bills amongst the darkness, and that's why he got hired as head coach.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: No, he got hired as head coach because he's zero threat to Brandon Bean.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: He's basically Brandon Bean's sidekick now.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: You see him at the Sabres games, you see him at the Bisons games, I think.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're everywhere together.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: It's like they're Tweedledee and Tweedledumb.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: But when it comes to Joe Brady, many questions about his play calling last year.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: The dynamic with Sean McDermott, did that have something to do with it?
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: We'll never know.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Uh he's kind of denied that.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Uh also alluding to perhaps that was the case.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: I don't know about that.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: And like I said, I don't know if we'll ever know.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: And I mean, is it Sean McDermott's fault that he dials up screen passes constantly despite McDermott appearing to go against them in press conferences?
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Is that Sean McDermott's fault?
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: Joe Brady going away from James Cook when he's on a tear in the middle of a game, gaining five yards, ten yards, fifteen, six, twenty, and then you won't see him for a quarter and a half.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: That's Sean McDermott's fault.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: I mean, you bring in all these pieces at wide receiver and uninspiring to say the least.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: I blame Brandon Bean more so than anything.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Bringing in Joshua Palmer on the free agent market, expecting him to turn into Randy Moss, drafting Keon Coleman in the second round when everybody knew that was going to turn out to be a bust.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, a lot of mistakes made by Brandon Bean, but when you're a premier offensive coordinator, somehow you're able to find a way.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: And the only person that has had any success in terms of a wide receiver in this Joe Brady offense, Khalil Shakir, the slot receiver.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: And I love me some Khalil Shakir.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: He's he's made game-winning plays, but in the grand scheme of things, how many games are you winning based on your slot receiver in 2026?
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: I think it's rare.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: And I don't think Shakir is at that level where he can carry a team.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: He's the best that the Bills have had.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: But is he the ultimate game changer?
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: No.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: And the Bills are hoping DJ Moore is this guy.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: But he's coming off the worst season of his career.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: And the numbers back it up.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Fewest reception of his career with 50, fewest receiving yards of his career, 680.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, there are some shine signs that show he's got something left in the tank.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: But how much is that?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: It's like the Seinfeld episode when Kramer's on the expressway testing the gas gauge.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Is that what we're doing with DJ Moore this year in a Super Bowl or bus season?
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: We're riding a potentially washed up wide receiver down the freeway?
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: Down the 90.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: Don't think it's going to work out well with DJ Moore.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: I think he's better than what the Bills had a wide receiver a season ago.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: Giving up a second-round pick for him.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: What I'm expecting from him this year.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: I think he might lead the Bills in receiving yards.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: But I'm not expecting a 1,000-yard season, not expecting double-digit touchdowns, anything close to it.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: I also think it might take a few weeks for him to really get involved in this offense.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen hasn't always been quick to help receivers acclimate themselves to the offense over the years.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: We've seen it time and time again.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Joshua Palmer, I know injuries played a role.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: Trent Shurfield and Deontay Hardy, not the level of player DJ Moore is before, just turned out to be nothing additions.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: So we'll see how that works out, but I don't have high hopes.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: He needs a big year for this passing game.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, it's going to be shit out of luck.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: You need at least 800 yards, probably 60, 70 receptions, seven touchdowns from DJ Moore.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, this passing game is toast.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: Keon Coleman?
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: Oh enough is enough with the Keon Coleman propaganda.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: My God.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: I read today from hockey guy Lance Lysowski and new wide receivers coach Drew Drew Terrell of Keon Coleman said he's one of the smartest receivers he's ever been around.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: One of the smartest receivers he's ever been around.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: And he said, especially at the receiver position.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: He he had to make that distinction.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Like any of us thought he was Einstein off the field after the shit he pulled last season.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: One of the smartest receivers he's been around.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: My ass.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Give me a break.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, sometimes these coaches step to the microphone and it's it's like they think you're an idiot.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: One of the smartest receivers you've been around.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: Who the hell is gonna believe that?
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: Really, really like to know.
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: And back to Brady.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, his press conferences.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: He he never says anything during his press conferences.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: I mean Sean McDermott beat around the bush and never really let you inside behind the curtain.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: But boy, oh boy, Brady takes that to another level.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: I don't even know if he's capable of manufacturing a reasonable thought about the team that would give you any sense of what's going on.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, how many you knows and right?
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: How many of those do you hear throughout the course of his press conferences?
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: About a million?
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Maybe more than I've ever heard from an NFL coach.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Whether it be an assistant coach or let alone head coach.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, when I'm transcribing his pressers for quotes, it's like walking on hot coals with a refrigerator on my back.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: It's it's the most tortuous experience.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: I I can't even begin to describe.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: Not to mention he goes on and on and on without saying a damn thing that's that's worth listening to.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: Everybody here will leave exponentially dumber than they were when they walked in, or whatever the heck he says.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: There's nothing to take away from his time at the podium.
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: It's it's useless.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: Can't believe we're gonna have to go through a whole season unless it doesn't last a full season.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Can't believe we're gonna have to go through a full season listening to him talk at the microphone.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: And just before we get off Brady and the coaching staff, I'll go to Jim Leonard after this.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, is Brady's dynamic with the team really gonna work out here?
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: He's like one of the players.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: You listen to the players talk about him.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, they love having Joe Brady as their head coach.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: I'm sure it's great for a guy like Deion Dawkins, who acts like a clown half the time, gets an offside penalty every other series.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: Says he lost weight this offseason.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: Good for you, Dion.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a disaster with Brady.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: Maybe I'm proven wrong.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: And people think Jim Leonard is this surefire savior as the defensive coordinator.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm as high on him as the next guy.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: But let's pump the brakes here.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: He's never been an NFL defensive coordinator.
- 34:44SPEAKER_01: He was an assistant coach under one of the most experienced, best defensive coordinators in the league, Vance Joseph.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Was he really the straw that stirred the drink in Denver?
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: He's a passing game coordinator on defense.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: But why is he getting so much credit?
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: Joseph's the one at the controls.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: I'll let you two.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: I'll let you put two and two together on that one.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think Leonard has a great temperament for a head coach.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: I think listening to him at the podium and some of the videos of him speaking at clinics and this, that, and the other thing, I'm very impressed by how he comes across and how I view him as a leader as well.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: I think he was a leader dating back to his playing days.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: I was a young kid back then, but I always remembered I enjoyed Jim Leonard out there at safety for the Bills.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: Scrappy player, somebody who's been in it.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: Joe Brady doesn't have that.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: At the end of the day, Leonard's gonna have to prove his worth here this year, and I think that's really could be said for a lot of players on this Bills roster.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: You got Josh Allen, we'll go back to him.
- 36:19SPEAKER_01: He won an MVP two years ago, finalist for the award last year.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: But let's face it, he wasn't great last year.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: And can I just say if I ever refer to Josh Allen as just Josh, like he's my younger brother, like my friend from high school?
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: Like, please call me out.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: That's the most cringe thing I hear on a regular basis from people covering the team.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: Josh.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen or Allen?
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, when did we start referring to these players by their first name?
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: They've all become Yao Ming.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: What is the deal?
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: But anyway, back to Alan's play last year.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: Running around like an absolute maniac with a with his head cut off, getting himself sacked 40 times, turning the ball over 10 plus times, saving his worst performance of the year at the worst possible time in the divisional round against the Broncos, giving the ball away.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's a lot of reasons to believe that Josh Allen could be on the decline.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: He's 30 years old, just had a baby.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: Tension is more divided than ever.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: Buddy-buddy relationship with Joe Brady, who I think is leading them down a path of disaster.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: But that being said, it is Josh Allen, and I'm not so sure he's all of a sudden gonna fall off a cliff from what we've seen.
- 38:19SPEAKER_01: He did have 39 touchdowns last year.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Still the best quarterback in the league by my measure.
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: So he did have his warts last year, wasn't at his best, had some horrible, horrible performances that led to losses, even though there's a section of the fan base that just can't bring it upon themselves to ever put any blame on Josh Allen, which is pretty pathetic to listen to week in and week out.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: You can criticize a player while also recognizing that he's the key reason for the team's success.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: In fact, I would say those players that are most instrumental should be the most heavily criticized.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: They deserve the most praise, they deserve to be the most heavily criticized.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: Is it always that way?
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: Especially with Josh Allen?
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: No, not even close.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: Gets all the adulation, none of the criticism.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: Buffalo's golden boy.
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: Never seen anything like it in all my years following Buffalo sports.
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: But I think I've really said enough here about Allen.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: I already mentioned more.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: Talked about Keon Coleman, mentioned James Cook briefly.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: I think one thing that could impact James Cook this year is the musical chairs on the offensive line.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Doesn't seem like a big deal to most fans, but David Edwards was, I might say, the centerpiece of that offensive line these past two years.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, the praise that he received from former offensive line coach Aaron Cromer, the stats back it up, the grades on pro football focus.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, David Edwards was phenomenal for the Bills these last two years, and there's no secret why he received such a lucrative contract from the New Orleans Saints.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: And to not have a ready-made replacement is a concern.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: You have Alec Anderson, who I think that the Bills should give the keys to and allow him to hit the ground running and see what he has.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: I don't think Austin Corbett is going to come in here and give you much, much more than what Alec Anderson can offer.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: So go with the younger guy, go with the guy that's been in your system, reward the homegrown player for what he's put in for you over the years.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, am I fully confident that Alec Anderson's the guy?
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: No.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: And then at swing tackle, who's it gonna be there?
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: Jude Bowery?
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: I'm not spending more than 15 seconds talking about Jude Bowery, but an offensive lineman from Boston College.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: Not sure.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: Not so sure.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm worried about the offensive line.
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: What that means for James Cook, I don't know.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: Whether Ray Davis sees more carries this year, that remains to be seen.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: I think that's something else that could kind of change things for Cook and his fantasy owners this year.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: They they're gonna have to keep an eye out for that.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: Davis could also be a potential trade chip, I think, if they feed him a little bit at the early stage of the season and by the trade deadline, build up his value a little bit and to a running back needy team.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: See Cam Scatabo out there for the Giants doing backflips on a torn ACL.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: What's he got?
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: Three, four weeks max before he runs through a brick wall head first.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: They might need somebody.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: Joe Shane, get on the phone with Brandon Bean, Ray Davis, let's make a deal.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: I think that could work out for the Bills at some point.
- 42:39SPEAKER_01: But let's flip to the defensive side of the ball.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: Linebacker, an absolute disaster, in my opinion.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't know how there's any way around it.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: Terrell Bernard had such a horrendous season last year.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: Couldn't stay on the field.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: And when he was on the field, he was simply terrible.
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: He's undersized, a lot of faith that he might be better in Jim Leonard's system.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: I'm going to have to see it first.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: I think based on what we saw last year, this could really go from bad to worse.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: And then you have beside him a neophyte starter, whether it be Caleb Elarms or the rookie, who has kind of been thrust at the center of the conversation because Dorian Williams sustained what appears to be an offseason injury.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: It does seem like Dorian Williams has improved a little bit, wasn't around for the offseason program.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Some people saw him at the Taste of Country, and Buffalo seemed to be moving around okay.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: So there's hope that he can make it back for training camp, but he's never been a full time starter, led the team in tackles a few years ago, but he's not a perfect player by any means.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: And then behind those three, you have Joanne Dreessen, and then what else?
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Demetrius Flanagan Foles, I think his name is.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: That's who we're relying on here to be next man up.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: One thing goes wrong at linebacker.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: Snowball's gonna start rolling downhill fast.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: So who knows how they'll fare that group playing behind an odd man front that's trying to understand a new scheme and trying to improve its play from such a suboptimal level last year.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: Couldn't stop a nosebleed in the running game, looked like a wet paper towel against some of the weaker running games in the league.
- 44:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, the defensive line could decide if this defense sinks or swims this year.
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: If they're able to get pressure on the quarterback and they're able to improve their run defense, that could cover up for what I think is one of the worst linebacking cores in the NFL.
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, they're gonna have to prove it.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: I talked about Bradley Chubb earlier, and then you have TJ Parker, second round pick out of Clemson.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: Didn't have many sacks in his last year in college, and had, I think, 11.5 his second to last season.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: So does have a pass history of some big-time sack production, but is he the guy who's gonna be able to get you five, seven sacks and limited playing time behind Bradley Chubb and Greg Rousseau?
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: Not so sure.
- 45:43SPEAKER_01: And I'll I'll say it.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: I uh I'm worried about I'll save that one.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: But I'm worried about this defensive line as a whole.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, you look at beyond the pass rush to the interior.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: Ed Oliver, good season last year, couldn't stay on the field.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: Uh, and then when he made his way back, seemed to try to make his way back a little bit too early and couldn't make it in the playoffs.
- 46:14SPEAKER_01: So he's got a rebound, and they did nothing at defensive tackle to add.
- 46:22SPEAKER_01: Deion Walker, good player coming back from last year.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Beyond that, what they had was horrible.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: Dwayne Carter has gained some weight.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: I I Dwayne Carter has been hurt his entire career almost.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: The wrist injury is rookie year, the Achilles injury last year.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: And when he's on the field, what is Dwayne Carter?
- 46:52SPEAKER_01: Who's he scaring?
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: Nobody.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: That's who.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: Then you got big old Landon Jackson also shifting inside.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: It's always a good sign when draft picks within the first two, three years of their career are changing positions and adding weight.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: Great sign.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: Another Brandon Bean masterclass.
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: Think about that.
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: All the draft capital Brandon Bean has put into this defensive line, and two players he selected within the first three rounds of drafts are already changing positions within the first three years of their career.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: What an absolute joke.
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: Give him the key to the city, Terry Pagula.
- 47:43SPEAKER_01: Give him the key to the city.
- 47:46SPEAKER_01: I don't think the promotion was enough.
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: Holy shit.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: Can't wait for Bean to sign Jordan Phillips.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: Better yet.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: I can't wait for the Daquan Jones week 15 ad off the couch.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: The AJ Klein special.
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: Can't wait for that.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: Let's look at another comment.
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: Pitzer, Walker played amazing.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Now they want him to change positions.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: I think his position change is really a product of the change in scheme, so I'm not sure there's anything you could do there.
- 48:29SPEAKER_01: You're not gonna put him on the outside of that three-man front.
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: So you gotta keep him on the inside.
- 48:39SPEAKER_01: And he's the only big body that you have.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Run defense wasn't his ultimate strength last year.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: He was a little bit better at getting after the quarterback, but and he's another one.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: He's lost some weight this offseason.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: Everybody's losing and gaining weight.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: What the hell is going on?
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: It's like AJ Epineza all over again.
- 49:07SPEAKER_01: Jeez, ooh.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: Alright, I I I gotta I gotta get it together here.
- 49:19SPEAKER_01: It's just it's frustrating to see this year after year and really no true changes made to the issues that the team has experienced year after year.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: Like, how long has it been that they've been trying to figure out the damn cornerback position?
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: That might be a disaster this year.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: Christian Benford coming into his own, one of the top matchup cornerbacks in the NFL.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: But Maxwell Harrison, he left a lot to be desired last year.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: How can he trust him?
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: And how can you trust he's gonna stay healthy?
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: Knee injury in training camp, ankle at the end of the year.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: If you see him up close, I mean his legs are like the thinnest thing you'll ever see.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: I don't got a pen or pencil near me, but I don't know how he's gonna hold up over a long career.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: I've already seen signs of it already.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: And then if he can't measure up and really take hold of this job like the Bills are expecting him to, and rightfully so, he's a first-round pick.
- 50:41SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to rely on the penalty machine, Davison Igbenozan.
- 50:45SPEAKER_01: 30 penalties in college.
- 50:48SPEAKER_01: We're supposed to all of a sudden believe one year he cleaned it up.
- 50:52SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: He's figured it out.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Give me a break.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: And don't get me started on the depth.
- 51:04SPEAKER_01: Seriously, do not get me started.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: There isn't any.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: So I wouldn't know what to say.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: Jordan Dunbar?
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: No, to Corey Couch.
- 51:18SPEAKER_01: Corey Couch, forgot.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: Forgot.
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: Bills don't resign Tradavius White.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: I don't know what the heck they're thinking.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, D.
- 51:29SPEAKER_01: Alford, I I like the ad.
- 51:31SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: I I I think Taryn Johnson is pretty much done at this stage of his career.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: You bring in D.
- 51:39SPEAKER_01: Alford, a versatile player, somebody who's not afraid to hit.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: I like that move.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: He's a slot cornerback.
- 51:47SPEAKER_01: How big of a role is he gonna play?
- 51:49SPEAKER_01: Time will tell.
- 51:56SPEAKER_01: And then in the back end, safety.
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: CJ Gardner Johnson hasn't shut his mouth since he got off the plane.
- 52:04SPEAKER_01: And yeah, the team loves it now.
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: They love it.
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: I love them some CJ Gardner Johnson.
- 52:12SPEAKER_01: Bill's red.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: Got the right mentality.
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: Super Bowl in his blood.
- 52:22SPEAKER_01: Can't wait until the first sign of adversity this year.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: And this guy loses control.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's happened time and time again.
- 52:33SPEAKER_01: Wears out his welcome.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Every team he's with, and in his recent comments, blames everybody but but himself, takes no accountability.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: As President George Bush once said, and someone reminded me of on Twitter today.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: Fool me once, shame on you.
- 52:52SPEAKER_01: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, you can't get fooled again.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: I love me some George Bush quotes.
- 53:04SPEAKER_01: He was like the Trump quotes before the Trump quotes.
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: Somehow the Bills think they're the team that's gonna really rein in Gardner Johnson, figure it out with him.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: Get him under control now.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: Good luck.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: Good luck with that.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: You got a young, impressionable Cole Bishop beside him.
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: All the progress he made last year working alongside a seasoned veteran and Jordan Poyer.
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll see how that works against CJ Gardner Johnson.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: It's like going from I won't use that analogy.
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: But there's a lot of concerns up and down this roster.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, you look at the offense, you look at the defense, and the amount of things that have to go right for the Bills this year in order for them to live up to the sky high expectations that have been placed upon them.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: It's really tough to count.
- 54:14SPEAKER_01: So, not saying it can't happen, not saying that I can see the future, but reading the tea leaves, I think a lot of people should be worried going into training camp.
- 54:26SPEAKER_01: And a lot more than seem to be worried going into training camp.
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: But speaking of the fans, or the ones I'm referring to, what do we call them?
- 54:42SPEAKER_01: Arrogant pricks?
- 54:45SPEAKER_01: These fans with their PSLs.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: And it's not all of them.
- 54:52SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think the super fan Hannibal Lecter, one of the PSL owners out there, happy for the Bills fans that are gonna have a chance to visit the stadium and the extra open practice that the Bills are now offering after they are basically closing it off to regular fans and allowing almost only their PSL owners to attend the blue and red scrimmage.
- 55:19SPEAKER_01: So good on the Bills for hosting another practice, but bad on these fans who insufferable would not be strong enough a word to describe them.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, take your PSLs and shove them up your ass.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: It's an open practice.
- 55:42SPEAKER_01: What are we doing here?
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: I think it's a sad state of affairs in this fan base, the way that things are starting to brew.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: It's it's becoming toxic.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: Certain factions of this fan base.
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: There's still the diehards that have never changed and probably never will, but soon it won't be the Bills Mafia.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: It's going to be the Bills' feudal system.
- 56:09SPEAKER_01: You know, the owner of Joe Schmoe's roofing emporium casting aspersions on the blue-collar worker who just wants to watch their team play with their PTO and enjoy a labat blue.
- 56:28SPEAKER_01: So all you fans out there that have expressed your displeasure and these I don't know, regular fans.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: Shame on you.
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: Shame on you.
- 56:48SPEAKER_01: But I think that's enough uh for one show.
- 56:51SPEAKER_01: I think I've laid enough out there.
- 56:53SPEAKER_01: Let me know what you think in the comments.
- 56:54SPEAKER_01: Please like, share, and subscribe as well.
- 56:56SPEAKER_01: It would really mean a lot.
- 56:58SPEAKER_01: Trying to grow the audience with training camp upcoming.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: And of course, the regular season about a month and a half away.
- 57:09SPEAKER_01: But before we reach the conclusion of the program, let's end the show with some hate mail during a segment that I think that we're going to call haters gonna hate.
- 57:21SPEAKER_01: I think I might get a little swooping graphic with it.
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: It's a working title.
- 57:28SPEAKER_01: If you got something better, comment and let me know.
- 57:32SPEAKER_01: Reach out on social media.
- 57:34SPEAKER_01: Anything goes here.
- 57:36SPEAKER_01: Probably no profanity.
- 57:37SPEAKER_01: I don't think that would be good for the show.
- 57:40SPEAKER_01: Especially the F-word.
- 57:42SPEAKER_01: I think that's a little bit frowned upon in these circles.
- 57:46SPEAKER_01: But let's start with the open or the British Open, as it should be called, as Bryson DeChambeau's interesting stomping of the fescue that I declared cheating on social media.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: I think anybody with two eyes could blatantly see what he was trying to do there.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've pulled that move a million times on the golf course.
- 58:16SPEAKER_01: Every time my ball goes in the fescue and I find it, I get on my elephant feet.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm pulling stuff out of the ground.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: I'm doing whatever I can to improve my life.
- 58:32SPEAKER_01: And I've pulled those moves that DeShambeau was pulling before.
- 58:40SPEAKER_01: So I made my feelings felt on social media, and a lot of people, a lot of people were very eager to tell me how big of a dumbass I am.
- 58:53SPEAKER_01: And they I don't know all the rules of golf, all the rules of any sport for that matter.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: I think it's impossible to know all the rules.
- 59:00SPEAKER_01: Rule books are ridiculously long, tedious, and too many rules, in my opinion.
- 59:07SPEAKER_01: But a lot of people saying I should read the rule book, and then you have Razorback here who says, quote, say you're an idiot without saying you're an idiot, you effing dipshit.
- 59:23SPEAKER_01: That was Razorback's assessment of my opinion.
- 59:27SPEAKER_01: I'm sure whoever Razorback is out there gotta be some big back from the south who like invented obesity, just sitting there with a cigarette in his mouth telling everyone how they should feel about golf.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: Meanwhile, can't do more than a half swing, and then Will Castro.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_01: I am so sick of these dudes chiming in who didn't watch, or excuse me, I'm so sick of these dudes chiming in who didn't watch golf but so desperately want to, and I'll clean this up, have sex with Bryson.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_01: He's not going to do it, guys.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: Not that there's anything wrong with that.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_01: I'm not too shabby.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_01: I think I might have a chance.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_01: But this one was my favorite.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_01: You got Louis McPherson, and he was a little bit creative.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_01: I I I asked, I think within my tweet, I was asking why DeShambeaux.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: Yes, and then something else occurred during the tournament where another player was like picking at what I've learned is is loose impediment or whatever they're saying, was like picking at it with a T or a pencil and and clearing his lie, or at least around his ball and his swing path, which is what DeShambeau was accused of.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_01: And he didn't receive a penalty.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: So I was asking, why was as much as I thought DeShambeau was cheating, why was DeShambeaux a penalty and this guy who was like doing surgery around his ball, no penalty?
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_01: So that was my question.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_01: And Louis McPherson, probably because you recite the alphabet doing math, dumbass.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_01: So fun weekend watching golf, uh, all in all.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_01: Very, very enjoyable weekend interacting with the fans as well.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: Uh, not to mention, I had a futures bet on Sam Burns winning.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_01: And he went into the final round with the lead, I believe, at 10 under and didn't make a birdie the entire final round of the major championship.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: So other than that, Mrs.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_01: Lincoln, how is the play?
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_01: That was my uh that was my time watching the British Open this weekend.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_01: But I think we're gonna do that as we go on here with the haters gonna hate.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: Maybe we can get some more of you in the comments during the show and maybe do a live edition of Hater's Gonna Hate as well.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think that could be a lot of fun this season.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: But that's gonna do it.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_01: A good first show.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_01: We had a couple hundred people tuning in, closing in on 300, I think, here.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: So I want to thank everybody for tuning in.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, around training camp, we can get that number up.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: But hey, if we don't, we'll have a nice cozy atmosphere throughout the entire season.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_01: And I want to thank Growing Up Buffalo, Pittsar, a Mafia Sports Report, and also Rage Tage, who says Sabres win a cup before Bills win the Super Bowl.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: Bank it.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: I don't think that that's a bad prediction.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_01: I think the Bills could be in for some rough road here.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_01: I said enough already, but Joe Brady does not impress me.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: Brandon Bean has got to go.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, we'll talk more about that over the course of this week, leading to the training camp and after training camp wraps up as the team hits the field for the regular season, and really the rubber meets the road for Bean and others throughout the organization.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_01: So thank you.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_01: Also, G JTL, I want to thank you for commenting as well.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_01: So, everybody who chimed in here, thanks a lot.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_01: Thank you all for following.
