Transcript
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Hey everybody, this is Frankie, and this is Johnny, and welcome to Frankie and Johnny Conversations we never had.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: And before we even we start today, uh I want to ask you, we want to ask you, please subscribe down below and follow so that you can get updates.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Uh the goal here is to try and reach as many families as as we can, having like real conversations in real time, real raw and vulnerable has been my motto.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And my son has what adopted it.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Um so I I felt like we've been trying to stay on a structure.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: We'll see how it goes.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: About 28 minutes, the average commute to work.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Um and also, teens, I know uh Johnny's your age.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I know you guys have a short attention span.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: So we're not gonna watch do a two-hour podcast.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: But last time we we I felt like we left some things that were still we weren't quite finished.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And we may go a little longer today.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Having said that, so Johnny, uh last week to wrap up, we talked some of the effects of divorce and uh and how it impacted you and how it impacts uh children's lives.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: And we also touched on the importance uh of sports or extracurricular activities, community.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Uh Johnny, anything that you think that was left maybe unsaid or that you've been sitting with since we, you know, we went live.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um we didn't really talk about this that much.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: We did talk about the phones and um about having time blocks, but I think a good way uh to have time blocks is by putting um screen time.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Explain to them some people that may have not have heard what actually time blocks are.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And what did you hear learn about time blocks?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, I heard actually I learned about time blocks from my dad.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Um Atomic Habacks was a good book to uh read for that because it teaches you about having a set day.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Time blocks are usually like let's say you get up in the morning, you brush your teeth, you make your bed, um, and you have a specific schedule of your day.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: So I would think I think that like a good uh way to reduce using your phone is maybe having screen time for at least the teens, uh parents.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, if you guys are find yourself scrolling a lot and on your phone a lot, I would also put screen time there.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Um to try to just like limit yourself and you know once you get to that limit, you you just turn it off, you s you settle down.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, I think that's a good way to you know reduce the time on your phone and helps you think more and be in thought, be present in the moment, so yeah.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And and what do you think would would need to happen in order to get people like your age, like you're you're sharing it, which is awesome, in order to get like your friends and and and and your peers to actually say, you know what, like let's do this.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Like what do you think needs to happen, or what do what can we do, and what can you all get together behind in order to make something like that happen?
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: That's a tough question.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Um I think I mean as a kid, just being like mature enough, I guess, saying like, you know, I'm gonna set this time, like not even having your parents do it for you.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, doing it by yourself and actually following that that time limit.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Uh I would put no more than like an hour and a half, maximum two hours a day.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Uh on you know, the social media, obviously, call, text message, don't put screen time on that.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: You mean you might need that just in case for emergencies?
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: But I really don't know that answer to that question of what would need to happen.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna ask you, what do you think would need to happen?
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Well, I I think uh putting it back on that, huh?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Uh well, I think the importance is just realizing.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Like, when have you, how many times have you gone out, not had your phone, and had an incredible experience, had an amazing time?
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: And when was the last time that you said, Oh my god, I had the best time of my life?
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: What'd you do?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: I was scrolling all day.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: I spent my day scrolling, I spent my evening scrolling, I saw something on TikTok.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: It's quick entertainment, but when do you go in your life actually sitting back, reminiscing, and saying, Wow, I miss social media.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Or do you wish that, man, I wish I would have spent more time with those people who I love, who I care for.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Uh, and I want to show this, share something now, now that you're mentioning that, it's really, really important because you know, we get moved by fear more than um driven by fear more than anything else.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Right now, the average person projected over time, the the rate that we're going at on social media will lose almost 12 years, 11.7 years of their entire life just scrolling, not watching YouTube uh content or something that's helping you just scrolling 12 years of your life that you'll never get back.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Uh so um anything else, Johnny, that like that you've that's come to you that you're like, oh, you know what?
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I wish I would have uh said something in in reference to that uh last week.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Uh no, not really.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think I shared with you guys about the whole divorce situation and like try not to put your kids in the middle.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Um going back to the time blocks, just set schedule your day correctly.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: Um you only live once, so live every day like it's your last.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: And yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, and and I just want to to to finish up on the time blocks.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: This is the thing, like we all have the same amount of hours in a day.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Why is it that some people get so much done, so much accomplished, and then so so many people are like, I don't know where the day went.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Uh so now we're gonna transition, and and really the the the theme of today's episode is really um about friends, and and going back to, you know, piggybacking off of what you were mentioning about kind of like community and sports, and and and this is really, really important, you know, or especially um amongst our youth.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: We're in a crisis, in a serious crisis, a loneliness epidemic, that uh the general um the surgeon general of the United States claimed in in 2021, uh, we're in the loneliest moment in in in history.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: We've never had more opportunities for human connection, yet we've never been so lonely.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: It's almost like an oxymoron.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Um so getting to the part of community, you know, as parents, we tell you, you know, since you're kids, oh, go, go, go make friends.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: But we never really explain or share about what that actually means.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: So there's this thing called the friendship test that I just recently um taught my son kind of like the more or less what what it kind of what the meaning is, uh, which means there's a there's two questions really that will determine what kind if you have friends and up to what level that friendship really really is.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: And and most of us, unfortunately, don't find out until it's too late.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Although if we're really honest with ourselves, we already know before those situations come up, if we do have those friendships.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And one is the scarcity test.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: Scarcity test is are these people there if you're broke, if you're struggling emotionally, you need somebody to talk to, you're going through a hard time in a relationship, a loss in in your family.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Most people can find someone or have someone that can pass that test.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: The second one is the challenge.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: It's called the cost test.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And the cost test is will they still be there when it costs them something being by your side?
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: And when I'm talking about cost, we're not talking about finances, resources, we're talking about reputation, status.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Uh if you're going, if right now your reputation's at risk and I'm standing by you, but by standing by you, people will look at me as guilty by association, and I may lose some friendship, some credibility, will I still stand by your side?
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: And most people don't have friends like that.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Uh I want to ask you, and and you don't have to share names if you don't want to.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: Do do you sit with with uh do you have friends that would pass these tests?
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: And and how in in in your life have they showed up uh in in in moments like that?
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: And for all you young people listening, uh we say we have a lot of friends.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: The truth is, like this test will tell you how many friends you really have.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: And I don't want you to feel bad, sad, depressed if you don't have them.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Start looking for them.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Because these friends, if you found find them, if you're blessed and lucky to find them, and if you're if you don't have them, look for them, look for community.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: They're like family, sometimes the only family you actually really have.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: So share a son.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: I would say I have probably eight to twelve really good friends.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Um I can name them.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Uh I'll give all of these shout-outs.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Um, Alex, Adrian, my girlfriend Emily, uh Peepa, his real name is Christopher, um Jacob, Anthony, CJ, Adrian, um, Dez, uh, Jordan.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: That's nine there.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, I would say they're really good friends.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Um, I could talk to them whenever I need, whenever I'm going through something emotionally.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Um and I mean I'll do the same for them if they're going through something, if it costs me something, my reputation, my status, I would I'll be there for their for them no matter what.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Well, as you I mean, that's that's a lot of friends.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: And and listen, if you didn't hear your name and you're like, hey, how about me?
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: I'm sure later on he's gonna come by and say it happens.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: It it happens.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: I said eight to twelve, and I only mentioned nine, so yeah.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: A couple of you will come out, don't worry about it.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Um Aiden, you're one of them too.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was actually saying in my in the back of my head, I'm like, oh man, he's not saying Aiden here.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Uh so you're blessed, son.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: You're you're you're you're super blessed and fortunate because most people don't have that.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: And even most people, like most men right now, like for the first time ever, like it's over 30% of men.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: If it was two o'clock in the morning and there was an emergency, they'd have no one to call.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: No one.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Like what can we do, right?
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: Like, you're not experiencing this, but have you seen some people around you uh maybe in school or or you can feel that some people that are or maybe they're just watching and you don't know them.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Like, what can you say?
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And you touched on it last week, uh, and for you it's sports, but not everyone's an athlete.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: What would you encourage them to do in order so that they could have some of those friendships that that you had?
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: And what go ahead, answer that one.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Um honestly, just I mean, I made most of those friendships in high school.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Uh probably only like four, five of them were before high school.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Um, but I got really close to them really uh really quickly, and just hanging out, you know, telling each other about like what we've gone through in our lives and stuff, um having deep conversations, you know, and I mean feeling comfortable being around being around those.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Describe describe deep because you're uh you're a young man, and for a lot of men, listening, watching parents as well, super important.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: That I I want you to touch on this.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: There's a sense of what do you mean deep?
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Like men are afraid of of deep.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Expand on on on what you mean by deep and what do you feel how that's contributed to this these relationships.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: By deep, I mean like um private conversations, I guess, like not conversations that you would have with the normal person, um really tapping into your emotion.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Um not necessarily like you don't have to cry to them and stuff, but I mean telling them like what you've gone through in your life.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Uh usually it's it's those conversations that only those people know, or only the people that you really trust and love know.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: So I would say, yeah, that's that's um those are examples of deep conversations.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Well what you said, like those deep emotional conversations, but not necessarily like needing to cry, you're talking about vulnerability.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Like which is when you say deep, what it sounds like to me is like what I really feel.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And what do you think for for people watching that may that because most you know men, you know, we're taught that we're only allowed to feel anger.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: You know, men don't cry, oh suck it up, be tough, you know, move.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: What would you say to those men who have been taught to be that way?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Like, what have you gained by actually outside of the friendship, how have you felt when you've been able to share?
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I feel like I mean I could obviously trust those friends.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Um I always feel like uh like it took some weight off my back.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: It feels more like relieving having those conversations.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: It doesn't just have to be with friends either.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, it could be with your parents, your siblings, just family members.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Um but you feel more relaxed, calm, and relieved.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: And this is a perfect transition to to where I wanted to go at because so this week I was at a I was at a rally of a bunch of men uh supporting the worst of what men can be.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: And where what uh what caught me off guard and what I was unprepared for, I'm thinking I'm gonna go into this environment where it's gonna be hostile.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't know what is gonna confront me.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: I called a friend and told him, hey, listen, if you don't hear from me by one o'clock, like, you know, message me and you know, I I I don't know.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't that at all.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: It wasn't that at all.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: What I saw was a bunch of men looking towards me with my sign.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Now I wasn't I didn't put a hostile sign, it was men stand up for women, discipline, respect, and honor.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Because if I would have put an anti-what you know, uh sign, I'm gonna get that hostility.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: And what I noticed was the curiosity in these men.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: There wasn't anger, there was a space of like curiosity, wonder, like, what's with that?
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't me, it was the message.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: There's so many men, and really this is why, at least for me, I felt like we need to do something because of this crisis that are looking for going back to community, looking for belonging, um, looking for that friends, that brotherhood is what it sounds like.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: You know, I know your girlfriend's not a brother, but you know, yeah, she's your sister.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: That was just weird.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: No, you know what, you know what I mean.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Um that was really awkward.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Uh but that sense of connection.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: What other like I I have an answer, but I I I want to hear from you, and they want to hear from you because everyone is watching you because they were you when they were young, they're parents and don't know what you're going through.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: They may have kids who how can we do a better job?
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: How can you and your friends do a better job at reaching out and helping other people find a sense of togetherness?
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: And then how can we support that as adults?
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Um so having a sense of togetherness, okay.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: So um I think I mean hanging out with those friends a lot.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Uh if you could if you could hang out with them the ones who don't have friends, they don't have friends.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Like I'm talking to the ones who don't don't have friends or that they feel like they don't have to they can't find someone right now.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I don't have someone who could pass the friendship test.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Like, what do they need to do?
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: Like, because what I don't want, the message is not, oh my God, I don't have friends like I don't have real friends.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: The message is, okay, I'd rather you realize you don't have if you don't have real friends and you don't have real friends now, then when you really, really, really need those friends, you realize you don't have them.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Because someone cares.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: You're worth it.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: I don't care what you've gone through, I don't care what anybody's ever told you, I don't care what your surroundings are, you are worthy of living, of friends, of love, of being cared for.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: So those people who now are in doubt that they like, I need new friends, talk to them, Johnny.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I mean, going back to kind of last week, I was saying about if you don't have those like strong connections, um, at least if you're a kid and my shoes, uh going to like clubs or extracurriculars or sports, um, people that like the same things as you.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's a great way to to make friends because you guys can connect easier.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Um find people, be social.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: Don't be I mean if you're not a social person, like get out of your your comfort zone and and talk to people.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Um define define social because right now what with with what's happened over the last you what you've grown up with and what your your friends are growing up with and what you know the youth has grown up with social is oh well yeah, I'm talking to my friend and playing, I'm gaming, you know, like through a screen.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: What's the difference?
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: What have you found to be the difference of when you and your friends are like gaming uh through a screen?
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Did any of those wait so aha moment here those nine friendships that you mentioned, ten that are real deep friendships?
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: How many of those friendships and I want you to elaborate on this, this is super important.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: I don't care if we go over like the the this how many of those friendships were built over a screen?
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Uh no, none of them have been o uh over a screen.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: I mean Why?
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Because there's a sense of of physical like seeing that person and you can't you can't trust somebody over a screen.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: I mean it could be someone it could be someone else.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: You don't know what they look like, you don't know who they are.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Um nowadays there's all these voice changers and stuff.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: They could be, you know, acting like kids.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Uh you have to really like you like I said, you can't trust somebody over a screen.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: You have to see that person, you have to see that, yeah, person in person, and have that physical human connection of of just you know, I could trust this person.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Like obviously it's not gonna be the first time you guys hang out.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Um, you might hit it off, and from there, you know, you start hanging out more and and trusting that person more, talking to them more.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Uh uh this doesn't take away the fact that you know you could still play games and stuff with your friends because I have made some memories, you know, gaming and stuff with my friends.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Um it's funny.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: Uh but I don't know where he's going.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: He just had a memory, uh he had a moment there, like I don't even know want to know what that is, but I saw the eyes.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: If you if you saw the eyes there, he went somewhere of some memory.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll just leave it there and we'll talk about it off camera.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, yeah, you you make funny uh funny moments and stuff, but I've definitely a hundred percent probably quadrupled those memories in real person in real life and in person.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Um there's there's nothing like just having that that human connection in in person and and and just seeing that person eye to eye and you know you can't you could only do so much online.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Can't do so much in the power of human connection and and and again for me it like in in everything that you're saying, it's really being seen.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Um it's when you share about like having to go and and share your emotions and and like is it possible do you think it's possible to actually build that foundation at all with somebody just through a screen?
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: No, I mean I I don't I don't think so.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: I mean especially if you guys are not like calling or talking I mean uh there's hardly I think there's like hardly any chance you can uh so so what can we what can us we as parents do in in order to help our kids like get out there and and and play?
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Like we've lost the art it's now it's like an art.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: The art of playing.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Like going outside, getting grounded, sweating, being in the sun, like what can we do to get some of our kids because I and parents like look, I've been guilty of this too, feeling quote unquote, oh safer, which if I'm gonna be honest with myself, bull crap, because it has nothing to do with them being safer, it's me being my convenience when my my kids have been home.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: But the truth is we've overprotected our children from the outer world, and we've let the inner world, social, not just social media, we've let predators into their phones, into our everyday lives, where they're at, where they're going.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: So how can how can we as parents help facilitate for some of those kids who don't have somebody to find some friends?
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Like what can we do?
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, as a parent, I mean, there's a lot of quote unquote helicopter parents, um, overprotective parents as a parent.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's obviously these boundaries that you have to have for your kids and rules um to follow.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: But to make new friendships, or I mean to help your kids make new friendships as a parent.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, I would start like start them young, in my opinion.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, take them to the parks or like school birthday parties, show up to them.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Don't be like, oh, maybe next time, because that next time is gonna turn into next year, and then never it'll never uh you'll never show up.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I mean t start them young, take them to parties, uh when they're little, like school parties and stuff like that.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: Um make sure like they're they're not just sitting there and by themselves.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Like make sure they're being social with other little kids and and yeah, having a social life with with those people that they're with.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: So listen, it's on us.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: You know, we're we're gonna we're wrapping this up now.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: It's it's not just look, it's not our kids' responsibility sometimes, you know, that they're they feed off of the energy that we give as well.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: And if we're enclosed and we're not we're not going out there, we're not putting them in the best situations to succeed, and it's just not just about doing their work.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: Listen, and I know some teachers may be watching this, but like, and this is the truth, not but, and school's overrated.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: You know, most C students, most A students work for C students because a lot of A students are are they're so intelligent, they're so smart, that they start thinking their ways out of stuff.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: It's about the being in the real world, sweating with outside with real people, having real experiences because it's the power, as you said, son, of human connection.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: Like we were born, we were born, can you turn that off?
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: We were born and wired for connection, and we need to tap into that.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: So let's wrap this up and let's just any takeaways that you want uh the audience to hear, take from today.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, live um I would say you only live once, live every day like it's your last.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: It goes with a lot of stuff that we've been talking about today.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: Um, about your phone.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: It's really uh like I said, last podcast, a waste of time.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: Um going into your social life, you only live once, so make those friendships that maybe you haven't had that you're um searching for.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: How about your takeaway?
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, you you said it better like you couldn't have said it better, which is great that you mentioned the phone stuff and and that it's overrated, and we're gonna you said it twice already, so we're gonna work we're gonna tap into that.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: So my my takeaway really is I know it's it's hard, but it's necessary.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: Do an inventory of the people around you that you call your friends and see if they pass the friendship test.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: And you may be a little disappointed.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: And parents, let your kids get disappointed, let them scrape their knees, let them fall down, because by you trying to protect them, you're protecting them from reality, and when they face reality, all of a sudden, they're in for a rude awakening.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Like we create the people around us and how they go out into the real world, our our children.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: So we got to do a better job ourselves.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: So um, that's what we got for today.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: So thank you again.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: I'll see you next week.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: And also for um the Instagram should be dropping this week.
