  Speaker 1: go through the listener's ears and be able to reach

  Speaker 1: their hearts and minds and apply these verses to their lives.

  Speaker 2: And the Lord Jesus Christ's name, I pray a man.

  Speaker 1: So if you wanna go ahead and grab your Bible

  Speaker 1: or get on your Bible lap and read it along

  Speaker 1: as you hear it along, I highly suggest so you

  Speaker 1: it's one thing to hear it, there's one thing to

  Speaker 1: read it, and then there's one thing to write it.

  Speaker 1: opportunity to get to Matthew chapter fifteen.

  Speaker 2: We'll go ahead and crunch this in. And this is

  Speaker 2: also Jesus.

  Speaker 1: Warns some Jewish leaders about their teaching as well as
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: this will be a little special message for someone in particular.

  Speaker 2: Just stay tuned til the end. So it's Matthew chapter fifteen.

  Speaker 1: In verse one states After that, a group of Pharisees
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: and teachers of God's law came from Jerusalem to talk
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: to Jesus. They said, our leaders in the past times
• 1:37
  Speaker 1: taught us the right way to do everything, but your
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: disciples do not obey the things that our leaders taught us.
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: They do not wash their hands in the right way
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: before they eat a meal.
• 1:49
  Speaker 2: Why is that? See, this is such a beautiful thing. Right.

  Speaker 1: They had teachers before them that tried to teach the
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: Pharisees the religious way of living, and just goes into
• 2:01
  Speaker 1: explaining why there needed to be a Jesus type right
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: that was also there to switch things up for the
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: religious leaders and make way for spiritual leaders. Can I
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: get an amen? Because I'm one of those impossibly you
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: that are listening is one of those as well. And
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: that's because he paved the way, not because anything we
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: say or anything that we do, or our will power,
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: or whatever the case may be.

  Speaker 2: Let me get deeper into it. Verse three.

  Speaker 1: Jesus replied, you refuse to obey what God commands.

  Speaker 2: Us to do.

  Speaker 1: Instead, you like to keep your own ideas. Verse four

  Speaker 1: states God's law says you must love your father and
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: mother and obey them. God also said a person should
• 2:46
  Speaker 1: die if he insults his father or his mother verse five.

  Speaker 1: But you teach that a person may say to his
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: father or to his mother, I would have given gifts
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: to help you, but I cannot do that because I

  Speaker 1: have given them to God instead.

  Speaker 2: Ooh, this gets even deeper because when we really look.

  Speaker 1: At the concept of having children and how a lot
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: of parents complain, right, it's such a gift from God
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: to be able to have children. There's some people that
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: wish they could have children, but they just can't. And
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: those that have children, a majority of them take their
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: parents for granted, and we have to repent from them.
• 3:38
  Speaker 2: Let me go a little deeper though. Verse six.
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: Then you let that person give nothing to his parents.
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: He does not have to help them. This shows that
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: you have not obeyed what God says is right. Instead,
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: you have obeyed your own ideas. Verse seven, you are hypocrites.
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: Where God's prophet Isaiah.
• 3:59
  Speaker 2: Wrote about you long ago is true.

  Speaker 1: Now Jesus at this point is definitely not playing, definitely
• 4:08
  Speaker 1: not playing, and I gotta make sure that my uber
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: is and that's yeah, and it's not. This is definitely
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: a little bit extra time, and it's good because I
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: also want to apply that I am a follower of Christ,
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: but I am nowhere near as perfect. I am also
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: in transition, so I'm no one to ask for you
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: to give you certain advice that's going to make you
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: rich or inspire you, even though a lot of the
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: times that's what the spirit does. It definitely inspires, it
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: definitely uplifts, it's a positive kind of flow. But I
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: also want to apply that this is also about my recovery.
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: It's also about my love life. It's it's the Ember
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: Show for a reason. And there's one person in particular
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: that truly is on my mind and on my heart
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: every day. And even though there's been a lot of
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: things in the way to distract our connection, distract our flow,
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: we've always come back together.
• 5:20
  Speaker 2: And I believe that's because the Holy ghosts. I believe
• 5:23
  Speaker 2: that the.
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: Power of praying together, a couple of prayers together, they
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: stay together whether they're in separation or not. They're gonna
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: think about each other, they're going to feel.
• 5:32
  Speaker 2: For each other. And it depends how much you really
• 5:37
  Speaker 2: go all in.
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: And I know that me being all in and being
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: able to see a healthy relationship being formed, it's not
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: necessarily consistent to both of our likings, but that's because
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: we're both learning not only just about each other, but
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: learning about having that healthy relationship that makes you want
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: to strive to do better.
• 6:04
  Speaker 2: Right, let's just be real power couple. And it's in
• 6:07
  Speaker 2: the making.
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: And I love you dearly, and you know who you
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: are because you listen to these Now we're gonna get

  Speaker 1: back to the verse in Matthew chapter fifteen, verse eight.

  Speaker 1: God says, these people use their lips to say that
• 6:20
  Speaker 1: I am great, but they do not want to obey me.
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: They worship me, but they well what they say has
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: no purpose. I was just talking to my brother about
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: this earlier. Well, you gotta find purpose. They teach their
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: own rules, which I did not give to them. So
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: there's so many different avenues to go. Now when you
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: really follow Christ and be able to have those spiritual gifts.
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: There's things for you to do. It's not to glorify you.
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: That will take its place in its own time. But
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: Jesus explains what makes people unclean.
• 6:59
  Speaker 2: And this is where we'll close out. I want to

  Speaker 1: Chapter fifteen, verse ten states Jesus asked the crowd of
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: people to come to him. He said, to them, listen
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: to me so that you can understand my message. It
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: is not food that goes into people's mouths that make
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: them unclean. Instead, what comes out of people's mouths is important.
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: It may show that what is inside them is unclean.
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: Then jesus disciples went to him and they said, the
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: Pharisees heard what you said.
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: They did not agree with what you said. Did you
• 7:35
  Speaker 2: know that? See, this is the whole thing about.
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: Being able to show your true character.
• 7:44
  Speaker 2: Our words have power. The power of the tongue is
• 7:47
  Speaker 2: actually the strongest muscle in the body for a reason.

  Speaker 2: If it is used properly, it can.

  Speaker 1: It cannot only lift the weight to prove that it

  Speaker 1: is strong, but it can also break down people. You know,

  Speaker 1: and as I said here, well stand here and do

  Speaker 2: The amount of support that I've been able to receive.

  Speaker 1: Having the Holy Spirit and guide me through one of

  Speaker 1: the most i would say, even horrific train of events.

  Speaker 2: Something when.

  Speaker 1: Your life as a believer transitions into a life of
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: a follower, because there's one thing to believe, but there's

  Speaker 1: one thing to follow and actually go see and praise God,

  Speaker 1: Praise Jesus, Praise Holy Spirit. I want to be able
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: to close this out and be able to get to
• 8:58
  Speaker 1: my celebrate recovery. So I got six minutes. I also

  Speaker 1: want to relay another message to the special person in
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: my life. I have a top five priority list that
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: not I have made up, so hear it out God's
• 9:12
  Speaker 1: will and that's.

  Speaker 2: The mission is the message. The message is the mission.

  Speaker 1: Talking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: also talk about number two AA recovery. Yes, I am
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: a recovering alcoholic. Number three significant other Jay Kay. And
• 9:32
  Speaker 1: it ain't no just kidding. It's Jennifer and it will
• 9:37
  Speaker 1: always be Jennifer. And we've gotten confirmation of that recently.

  Speaker 1: And it's also just clarity and it also brings unity
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: back to something that may be confusing because it's something
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: that is real, it's genuine. It's not something that is
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: going to make you feel at peace for eternity. But

  Speaker 1: what it does is it brings a comfort that you
• 10:05
  Speaker 1: know that's home, and that's what I feel with you.

  Speaker 1: I have definitely been able to balance my time and

  Speaker 1: get my rest and be able to also know when

  Speaker 1: in a spiritual realm where I can get my healing,

  Speaker 1: which is Celebrate Recovery or a church on Sunday, and
• 10:39
  Speaker 1: I also get the wisdom and the healing from the meetings.
• 10:44
  Speaker 1: And I just want to make this also apply that
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: these all connect together like a chain that has links. God,
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: Jesus in the Holy Spirit are the main ingredients to
• 10:58
  Speaker 1: those chains, not.

  Speaker 2: Freaking who we link to. It's very important.
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: Sometimes there's people that come into your life not just
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: for a reason, but for a season.
• 11:15
  Speaker 2: Sometimes it's.
• 11:17
  Speaker 1: It's it's up to us what we do with it, though,
• 11:22
  Speaker 1: And I'm just very grateful for where my life's at.
• 11:24
  Speaker 1: I'm very grateful for where my significant others life's at
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: and financially is going to fall in line with that, mentally, physically, spiritually,
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: because the work is being done, the prayers are being answered,
• 11:39
  Speaker 1: and the best is yet to come. This is the

  Speaker 1: They're so furiously gifted that they can really help you

  Speaker 1: do bring up. But you gotta believe, you gotta believe,

  Speaker 1: you gotta see the seed, you gotta really water. It

  Speaker 1: took a lot of people They don't really care what

  Speaker 1: you're going through. They just want to see how they

  Speaker 1: can use it. And I just know what it's like

  Speaker 1: a tool, and they gonna take it right from you.

  Speaker 1: I just know what a lot of people here they're

  Speaker 1: talking about destiny swaps. You don't really understand it until

  Speaker 1: the pain stops, but the game and strength. They don't

  Speaker 1: understand that this is how it really goes.
