- 1:24Speaker 1: Jordan Love is absolutely trending up. may go with him.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Make this your most rewarding season ever with FanDuel. All right,
- 1:33Speaker 1: let's get right into my top six quarterback rankings of
- 1:37Speaker 1: the week. These are my favorite power rankings and it's
- 1:39Speaker 1: literally week to week. This is not cumulative. So let's
- 1:43Speaker 1: get right into it. Michael Penix Jr., the Atlanta Falcons
- 1:46Speaker 1: starting quarterback is number six. You make your way on
- 1:50Speaker 1: this list, on my top six list, when you are
- 1:53Speaker 1: able to go at home and and beat the San
- 1:57Speaker 1: Francisco 49ers. I thought he played outstanding. They won 29
- 2:02Speaker 1: to 20, 25 of 34. You're going to say, Chase,
- 2:05Speaker 1: he only threw for 213 yards. Well, it was three touchdowns,
- 2:07Speaker 1: no interceptions. More importantly, a pass rating of 120. Not
- 2:11Speaker 1: a big runner, five carries, minus one rushing yards. But
- 2:14Speaker 1: most importantly for me, zero sacks. If you are Michael
- 2:18Speaker 1: Penix Jr., all you have to do is play consistent
- 2:21Speaker 1: and not turn the football over. B. John Robinson had
- 2:24Speaker 1: 25 touches. Drake London, unbelievable. Seven catches, 66 yards. Kyle Pitts, unbelievable.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Like you probably have the best three and the best
- 2:36Speaker 1: big three in NFL right now. I would take a
- 2:39Speaker 1: couple different answers, but you look at what Bijan Robinson
- 2:43Speaker 1: is doing. You look at what Kyle Pitts is doing.
- 2:44Speaker 1: The Drake London, that seam throw, right up the seam.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You just can't screw it up. Here's what I like though.
- 2:50Speaker 1: The most important thing is he's making efficient decisions over
- 2:54Speaker 1: explosive volume. 25 completions with three scores, huge passing yards.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It's against a defense, a Raheem Morris defense, where you
- 3:03Speaker 1: just got to dink and dunk and then take your
- 3:05Speaker 1: spots and choose your spots when they're open. That seam
- 3:09Speaker 1: throw to me, though, in the third, fourth quarter, when
- 3:12Speaker 1: they needed it the most, was unbelievable. They were playing
- 3:14Speaker 1: with the lead for a lot. 49ers got out to
- 3:17Speaker 1: an early lead, ended up coming back to win. I
- 3:20Speaker 1: just think, in general, Michael Pennington Jr. is a perfect
- 3:23Speaker 1: fit for what the Atlanta Falcons want to do. And
- 3:26Speaker 1: his connection with London and the tight ends, the 21-yard
- 3:30Speaker 1: fourth quarter touchdown that I love, that just seam throw,
- 3:33Speaker 1: absolutely amazing. All right, moving on to my number five quarterback,
- 3:37Speaker 1: Jordan Love. I know they lost 17-20 versus the Detroit Lions,
- 3:41Speaker 1: but I love the way that this kid is playing.
- 3:45Speaker 1: He is putting everyone on notice with his play, and
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't know if there is somebody more than Jordan
- 3:53Speaker 1: Love the past couple years who's been let down by
- 3:56Speaker 1: their receivers and their pass catchers more with drops than
- 4:00Speaker 1: Jordan Love. Look, yes, he threw an interception, but he
- 4:03Speaker 1: was 27 to 45, 274 pass yards, two touchdowns. Passer
- 4:08Speaker 1: rating's not great. He had a touchdown pass to Tucker
- 4:11Speaker 1: Graff and Josh Jacobs, a 25-yarder. But how about the
- 4:14Speaker 1: throw in the fourth quarter that you need your running back?
- 4:18Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs, yes, I know he's been out. He's coming back.
- 4:20Speaker 1: He's a little sloppy, whatever. He's not consistent, but the throw...
- 4:25Speaker 1: down the left sideline, it's called like a halfback wheel
- 4:28Speaker 1: with a mesh route. That's his first read. He's got
- 4:31Speaker 1: a guy in his face, puts it on him, over
- 4:33Speaker 1: top the defender, drops it in. And the way he's
- 4:35Speaker 1: throwing the football down the field, to me, I mean,
- 4:39Speaker 1: it's a 60% completion rate, but when you're throwing the
- 4:43Speaker 1: football down the field, and it's not only like you're
- 4:46Speaker 1: checking the football down, no one's throwing the football further
- 4:49Speaker 1: down the field than Jordan Love, and they hit more
- 4:51Speaker 1: than they don't. I just think it's the coverage for
- 4:53Speaker 1: the Lions played a little bit. I would have liked
- 4:55Speaker 1: for them to score a little bit more points because
- 4:56Speaker 1: that Lions defense is not great. I thought that the
- 5:00Speaker 1: red zone touchdown to Tucker Kraft was awesome. The 14 yarder.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I think they're being efficient in the red zone. I
- 5:08Speaker 1: think that he's starting to hit his stride as a quarterback.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I think that a lot of people are not questioning
- 5:14Speaker 1: him at all. I think some people are questioning him.
- 5:17Speaker 1: What in the world is going on with these pass catchers? Look,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I get Matthew Golden is having a heck of a year.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I like Christian Watson. You got Tucker Craft. You got
- 5:27Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs back. This team could be very dangerous to
- 5:29Speaker 1: go on a run. But when you have so many
- 5:32Speaker 1: stupid penalties and you miss two field goals, you got
- 5:34Speaker 1: to score touchdowns in the red zone. Yes, one got tipped.
- 5:37Speaker 1: This is a game that they're going to look back
- 5:39Speaker 1: on and really wish they won because this is a
- 5:43Speaker 1: Packers team that can be extremely dangerous. All right, let's
- 5:46Speaker 1: get to number four. Woo, J.J. McCarthy. First start with
- 5:51Speaker 1: the Giants. How about you go and you get an
- 5:53Speaker 1: overtime win versus Houston, Texas defense, who has 18 sacks
- 5:56Speaker 1: on the year. They might not be so great getting
- 5:58Speaker 1: the football away. The only three interceptions as a defense
- 6:00Speaker 1: as a whole. But J.J. McCarthy looked unbelievable. 20-28, 252
- 6:05Speaker 1: passing yards. No touchdowns, no interceptions. Three sacks, though. He's
- 6:11Speaker 1: a little confused with some of these pressures that Houston
- 6:13Speaker 1: is doing. But the fact that you start on the
- 6:16Speaker 1: road versus a defense that's historically been pretty good the
- 6:18Speaker 1: last few years against D'Amico Ryans, how about the comeback story?
- 6:22Speaker 1: Don't let J.J. McCarthy and the Giants and Scam Scataboo
- 6:26Speaker 1: and Malik Neighbors get hot. Because when that defense can
- 6:29Speaker 1: play a little bit like they did versus the Texans
- 6:32Speaker 1: and slowed C.J. Stroud down, they can be a dangerous team. Look,
- 6:35Speaker 1: they're 4-2-1. And the story to me is the fourth
- 6:40Speaker 1: quarter of J.J. McCarthy's last game, And then you put
- 6:43Speaker 1: it with this four quarters and you look at the
- 6:47Speaker 1: five quarters of play. Like he's been super efficient, but
- 6:50Speaker 1: he's also thrown the football down the field. He's got
- 6:53Speaker 1: a little effort to him. Like he doesn't care where
- 6:55Speaker 1: it's coming from. He didn't care what happens. He didn't
- 6:57Speaker 1: care if he throws an interception. Like he went six
- 6:59Speaker 1: and four as a starter for the Minnesota Vikings. I
- 7:01Speaker 1: just think that in general, the decision-making is good. I
- 7:04Speaker 1: feel like he fits Matt Nagy's offense better than Jameis Winston.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I feel like he's a very similar player, although not
- 7:10Speaker 1: quite as athletic as Jackson Dart. In this scheme, do
- 7:13Speaker 1: I think he's going to take Jackson-Darcy Dobb one day?
- 7:16Speaker 1: Absolutely not. But when you can get Cam Scadaboo, and
- 7:19Speaker 1: I think they ran for 160 yards, something like that,
- 7:22Speaker 1: when you get that running back room to support you,
- 7:24Speaker 1: it is an excellent job, and he managed the game
- 7:28Speaker 1: really well. The biggest thing is don't turn the football
- 7:29Speaker 1: over on the road, and you have a chance to win.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Number three, the winner. Jared Goff. Jared Goff, to me,
- 7:37Speaker 1: is played at an extremely high rate, really all year long.
- 7:41Speaker 1: He's probably one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the
- 7:44Speaker 1: entire NFL. They beat the Green Bay Packers 20-17. He
- 7:48Speaker 1: was 22-32, 303 yards, two passing touchdowns, and 120 passer rating.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Only took one sack. Jamison Williams, can we just talk
- 7:58Speaker 1: about how much of a weapon he is? Amon Ross A. Brown.
- 8:01Speaker 1: had about 140 receiving yards. It was consistently on time
- 8:06Speaker 1: and in rhythm. Golf is so incredibly effective when the
- 8:10Speaker 1: first read is covered. There's not a lot of quarterbacks
- 8:12Speaker 1: in our day that can do that. When the first
- 8:14Speaker 1: read's not there, he moves on. Boom. Is the second
- 8:16Speaker 1: one open? Yes. It's called a pure progression passer. Here's
- 8:19Speaker 1: another thing that I really, really like. You're able to
- 8:23Speaker 1: get these full field progressions. More importantly, he's one of
- 8:26Speaker 1: the better play action quarterbacks in the entire NFL. He
- 8:28Speaker 1: turns us back to the, to the, to the defense,
- 8:32Speaker 1: and when he does, a lot of quarterbacks who snap
- 8:33Speaker 1: their head back have a really hard time seeing. He
- 8:36Speaker 1: processes information so incredibly well, and he's also extremely smart
- 8:41Speaker 1: knowing when to push the ball, when not to push
- 8:43Speaker 1: the ball. Put some balls in a little bit of
- 8:45Speaker 1: tight windows, but they have weapons. The thing that will
- 8:48Speaker 1: make this Detroit Lions team better, can they get a
- 8:51Speaker 1: better defense? Can they figure it out? But the connection
- 8:54Speaker 1: with the Detroit's receiving weapons, the Jamison Williams, Amara St. Brown,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I mean, Jameer Gibbs, I didn't even realize this. When
- 9:02Speaker 1: Gibbs fumbled with 19 seconds left in the first half,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I had zero idea that it was only their second
- 9:09Speaker 1: turnover of the entire year. We're through week seven. I mean,
- 9:15Speaker 1: they played six games. It is really, really, really good.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And then you've got a divisional matchup versus Jordan Love.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You know you've got to score points, but you score 20.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Your defense finally comes through. Jared Goff. if they can
- 9:27Speaker 1: continue winning, like MVP type calorie. He's always been in
- 9:30Speaker 1: that top seven, eight quarterbacks in the entire league. I
- 9:35Speaker 1: think cumulative, he's probably even higher than where I ranked
- 9:39Speaker 1: him on this week-to-week list. All right, let's get to
- 9:41Speaker 1: number two. First time making his appearance on my top
- 9:45Speaker 1: six quarterback power rankings. How about Joe Burrow? Joe Burrow,
- 9:49Speaker 1: shut out in the first half, threw for 250-something yards
- 9:51Speaker 1: in the second half. talk about resilience, talk about overcoming,
- 9:56Speaker 1: talk about everything. Because when they went into halftime, I'm
- 9:59Speaker 1: pretty sure he had 59 yards passing. When you have T.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Higgins and you have Jamar Chase and you have Zach
- 10:04Speaker 1: Taylor calling out those plays, no excuses for that whatsoever.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You're at on the road. What was that halftime speech
- 10:12Speaker 1: like from Zach Taylor? Because you were trailing 0-13. You
- 10:14Speaker 1: score 35 unanswered points. You score on the first Five
- 10:21Speaker 1: possessions against a defense that is historically pretty decent at home.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Without Lamar Jackson, I understand that. But I love the
- 10:28Speaker 1: four touchdowns in the second half. There was a nine-play, 66-yard,
- 10:33Speaker 1: third-quarter touchdown drive. He had six completions on that possession.
- 10:37Speaker 1: That's when I felt like he got into a rhythm.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It was the play calling. It was quick hitters. It
- 10:40Speaker 1: was play action. It was him moving in the pocket.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It was him connecting with T. Higgins on these out routes.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It was him connecting with Jamar Chase on the sickest,
- 10:47Speaker 1: we call it a race route, a race corner route.
- 10:50Speaker 1: in the red zone where he stacks them. He goes
- 10:52Speaker 1: corner post corner and he fits it in there perfectly.
- 10:56Speaker 1: T Higgins went insane. Six catches, 148 yards and a touchdown.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Jamar chase at five catches, 62 yards and a touchdown.
- 11:04Speaker 1: But he also threw a touchdowns to sample and Mike Kisecki.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And I bring that up because when you are a
- 11:10Speaker 1: quarterback and you can spread the football around and you
- 11:15Speaker 1: continue to play this past game is going, that's when
- 11:17Speaker 1: you're the most efficient. I don't know if there's, Anyone
- 11:20Speaker 1: better when Joe Burrow is on than Joe Burrow? It
- 11:24Speaker 1: just got to be on. They're starting to figure out this.
- 11:27Speaker 1: The protection's a little bit better. They still need to
- 11:29Speaker 1: get a run game. Can't have Joe Burrow leading your
- 11:31Speaker 1: team and rushing. All right, let's get to number one.
- 11:33Speaker 1: You're right. Back-to-back weeks. It's Caleb Williams. People forgot about him,
- 11:37Speaker 1: but this was on Thursday, and Thursday counts. You beat
- 11:40Speaker 1: New England 30-24, 308 passing yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions,
- 11:45Speaker 1: five carries, 18 rushing yards. He took three sacks. Here's
- 11:47Speaker 1: the thing. Back-to-back 300-yard performances. He's only thrown one interception
- 11:52Speaker 1: all year. He's got a 71% completion rate, and people
- 11:54Speaker 1: are hating him because he's not throwing the football down
- 11:56Speaker 1: the field. Well, you need to watch this Patriots game
- 11:59Speaker 1: because it was the perfect example of everything you would
- 12:03Speaker 1: want out of a quarterback. The way he is playing
- 12:05Speaker 1: the position right now rivals that of Josh Allen, and
- 12:09Speaker 1: I mean that in a good way because he is
- 12:13Speaker 1: throwing the football into some of these tight windows where
- 12:16Speaker 1: you're like, oh my gosh, he's so great versus the pressure.
- 12:19Speaker 1: He has such a unique feel. It's like eyes in
- 12:21Speaker 1: the back of your head on where to go and
- 12:24Speaker 1: when to get the football out. But I've just been
- 12:26Speaker 1: incredibly impressed with the way he's played. The fact that
- 12:30Speaker 1: you're having 300-yard performances in back-to-back seasons is probably not
- 12:33Speaker 1: going to be the first 4,000-yard passer because he's got
- 12:35Speaker 1: hurt with that hamstring, but it looks better. And I
- 12:39Speaker 1: do think that the way that M-I-Z-Z-O-U Luther Burden is
- 12:43Speaker 1: showing up, Colson Love and Cole Komet is a big
- 12:46Speaker 1: loss coming out. But there's a lot of different ways
- 12:50Speaker 1: from the Falcons defense to this Pats defense where they're
- 12:54Speaker 1: gaining a lot of momentum. The play calling from Ben
- 12:57Speaker 1: Johnson has been great. More importantly, there's been no interceptions
- 13:01Speaker 1: across these two games. The dude is playing unbelievable. Caleb
- 13:05Speaker 1: Williams at number one. All right, thanks for watching the
- 13:07Speaker 1: top six quarterbacks for my power rankings. Now we're getting
- 13:11Speaker 1: into the breakdown portion of it. We are going to
- 13:13Speaker 1: dive in the film unlike any other channel you have
- 13:16Speaker 1: seen out there. We are going to start with Caleb Williams.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Number one guy, he's going to be the first one up.
- 13:21Speaker 1: We've said enough about him. The way he's playing the
- 13:24Speaker 1: position right now is probably better than anyone else in
- 13:26Speaker 1: the NFL. Let's get into it. All right, Caleb Williams,
- 13:29Speaker 1: right into it. This dude played unbelievable. Thought he had
- 13:32Speaker 1: a really, really good game for multiple different reasons, but
- 13:35Speaker 1: the number one reason is he's playing quarterback at a
- 13:38Speaker 1: level we haven't seen him play in a very long time,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and I don't think we've ever seen a Quarterback for
- 13:43Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears play it. Watch his pocket movement. Watch
- 13:46Speaker 1: his presence. Watch his decision making. This is game two
- 13:49Speaker 1: back from the hamstring injury. The Patriots try to do
- 13:52Speaker 1: a lot of different things, right? Here they are in three,
- 13:56Speaker 1: cover three. So that's a deep third, deep third, deep third.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But they have five guys on the line of scrimmage.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Who's blitzing? Who's not? The play action game, everything about
- 14:04Speaker 1: it was so good. They're running this switch all go. concept,
- 14:08Speaker 1: which I really like. You're going to have Raymond go post. Okay,
- 14:11Speaker 1: I think that's Colson Loveland. Cole Komet's a big loss,
- 14:14Speaker 1: but that's a wheel route. You're going to have Luther
- 14:16Speaker 1: Burden sort of step up through here and go on
- 14:18Speaker 1: a deep cross. And then you're going to have a
- 14:20Speaker 1: dagger route. So you want to check this wheel route
- 14:23Speaker 1: or this rail route, whatever you say is number one.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Here's number two. Here's number three. And it's just a
- 14:29Speaker 1: pure progression. You're going to have the back come out
- 14:31Speaker 1: and take a right turn. So it's just a pure
- 14:33Speaker 1: progression type play, right? One, two, three. Watch him get
- 14:36Speaker 1: over there. He's like, all right, you know what? 31's going.
- 14:38Speaker 1: No way. Now you have Luther Burden, who I really
- 14:41Speaker 1: like this. This is very interesting because a lot of
- 14:43Speaker 1: times they do this. It's an insert. This is not
- 14:45Speaker 1: just a, hey, let's get out here and just run
- 14:47Speaker 1: right there. You cheat your split. You cut it. You
- 14:50Speaker 1: go in and you take a right turn. Excellent work here.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So seven, as soon as he hits his back step
- 14:57Speaker 1: because he feels this pressure, this is the first play
- 14:59Speaker 1: of the game. He's already throwing the football. Luther Burden,
- 15:02Speaker 1: career day in my ZZOU. Just the throw, the off-platform,
- 15:07Speaker 1: the balance, really impressive. But watch this right here. Luther Bird,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you're going to come in, going to go, take a
- 15:13Speaker 1: right turn. That's not normal, right? And this offensive line
- 15:17Speaker 1: did a pretty decent job. Joe Tooney getting beat right here.
- 15:20Speaker 1: You have a seven-step drop, and then watch him. He
- 15:22Speaker 1: doesn't even step into it. He steps back. When you
- 15:24Speaker 1: step back right there, right there's seven. You're feeling that
- 15:28Speaker 1: step back, but then you're also able to gather And
- 15:31Speaker 1: look where he's, that's all arm. That's just arm talent
- 15:34Speaker 1: and arm strength. And you put Luther Bird in a
- 15:36Speaker 1: chance to catch and run. This is how I would
- 15:39Speaker 1: play the Bears. I'd play him a man, but you
- 15:41Speaker 1: got to be able to match up. Got body slam
- 15:44Speaker 1: right there. All right, next play right here. Third and seven.
- 15:46Speaker 1: A lot of guys at the line of scrimmage. One, two, three, four, five,
- 15:50Speaker 1: six guys. Possible seven is threat. So as a quarterback,
- 15:53Speaker 1: you got to come in. You got to have a mindset.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Where am I going with the football? What is my plan?
- 15:58Speaker 1: They end up bringing six. All right, so one, two, three, four, five, six.
- 16:02Speaker 1: He comes over. They have an extra blocker. All right,
- 16:05Speaker 1: he comes and helps. It's perfect. Got to get your
- 16:08Speaker 1: head around. This is not a misthrow. This is Khalif
- 16:12Speaker 1: and Rome on the same page. It's pretty easy money, right?
- 16:16Speaker 1: It's a corner route, and it's called a money route.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You can sit burst zone. You can break in, and
- 16:23Speaker 1: then you have this wrap route, fifth step. Okay, I
- 16:26Speaker 1: don't know if this is an option for sure, but
- 16:29Speaker 1: I do know if you get six-man pressure, that's where
- 16:31Speaker 1: you want to go. It's an easy completion. I think
- 16:33Speaker 1: he goes a little bit deep. I think this is
- 16:37Speaker 1: supposed to be a five-yard route, but anyway, he gets
- 16:40Speaker 1: it out really, really early. Step throw, he's starting to throw.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Just took a little bit too long to get it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: This should be an easy completion. They'd been better on
- 16:50Speaker 1: third down. Let's watch it right here. Not sure if
- 16:52Speaker 1: this is Caleb's fault or Kalief's fault. Just not on
- 16:55Speaker 1: the same page. Down, down, down, pressure, pressure, trying to
- 16:59Speaker 1: eat up the back. They're in seven-man pro, though. I
- 17:01Speaker 1: like this idea from Ben Johnson. It's like, hey, let's
- 17:04Speaker 1: just split the field in half. Let's go seven-man pro
- 17:06Speaker 1: with Swift and Loveland, and let's just go. We're all
- 17:09Speaker 1: going right. So you don't have to, as a quarterback,
- 17:12Speaker 1: you don't have to figure out, hey, where are they blitzing,
- 17:14Speaker 1: where are they not? I just think the timing's not there.
- 17:17Speaker 1: It's all right, though. This should be an easy completion.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Let's watch from this view real quick. Let's just watch
- 17:21Speaker 1: his eyes. His eyes should go right over there, and
- 17:23Speaker 1: it does. Perfect. Maybe like one, an extra hitch. I
- 17:27Speaker 1: don't know. Should be an easy completion though. All right.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Next place. Second and nine, right? Look at this tight.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Watch this snap. It's called a cheetah, cheetah snap. All right.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Caleb does not use cadence on this. This is called
- 17:40Speaker 1: a cheetah snap to get the defense caught off guard.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He's already moved. Everyone's already moved. This defensive line has not.
- 17:48Speaker 1: So this is a way and look, no one's ready
- 17:50Speaker 1: for the play whatsoever. I mean, this is unbelievable. Look
- 17:53Speaker 1: at this. He's looking back. He's looking there. He's looking here.
- 17:57Speaker 1: You got all of them caught off guard. I love it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's the small little details. They don't end up getting
- 18:03Speaker 1: home in pressure and they end up getting a massive
- 18:05Speaker 1: play on not a very difficult way to do things. Literally,
- 18:10Speaker 1: it's a very simple play. It's a post. You could
- 18:13Speaker 1: go corner. It's a deep cross and it's an end.
- 18:17Speaker 1: This is 18 to 22 yards. This is 22 yard dagger.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Can cut it down to 20 depending on Alert versus post.
- 18:26Speaker 1: But watch this. They caught him off guard. Look how
- 18:29Speaker 1: late in the down this nickel blitzes. And you have
- 18:32Speaker 1: Joe Tooney pulling, so you get a little bit of
- 18:34Speaker 1: a play-action suck-up. Excellent. Look, and this guy's running out here.
- 18:38Speaker 1: He has no idea. It is an awesome, awesome job
- 18:42Speaker 1: of Ben Johnson just creating an easy completion in a way.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Half roll. That's so open in so many different ways.
- 18:49Speaker 1: So awesome work there by Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And then, dude, Luther Burden. Let's go. Ballin'. I mean,
- 18:58Speaker 1: this massive catches. This is only play 13 of the game.
- 19:02Speaker 1: So they're checking to something. This is only second and nine.
- 19:05Speaker 1: This is the chess match that a lot of people
- 19:06Speaker 1: don't get into. Second and nine, they're checking. Well, guess what?
- 19:10Speaker 1: On second and nine, you do not expect to go
- 19:12Speaker 1: cheat a count, which is a fast snap, right? So
- 19:15Speaker 1: Ben Johnson's got their number. You end up pulling this guard.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Now this guard falls right into it. This Will Linebacker
- 19:21Speaker 1: right here, 53, completely messed up, not sure what to do,
- 19:24Speaker 1: has no idea. He's the only one without his hands up,
- 19:27Speaker 1: hands up, hands up, hands up, hands up, hands up.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So he's lost in the sauce. That's what happens. This
- 19:35Speaker 1: is why this entire area right here is open for
- 19:38Speaker 1: Luther Burden. It's a half roll. You set up, let
- 19:41Speaker 1: Joe Tooney send them by. You step up into the pocket.
- 19:45Speaker 1: That's great. That is wide open. Everyone working there. all
- 19:50Speaker 1: right next play third and eight trips formation down here
- 19:54Speaker 1: Roma Dunes a tight split a lot of times they
- 19:56Speaker 1: run a halfback choice out of this let's see what
- 19:58Speaker 1: they end up doing they send the motion now it's
- 20:01Speaker 1: a four by one all right let's see how it
- 20:02Speaker 1: plays out what are they doing ah look at this
- 20:07Speaker 1: perfectly thrown football I love this so much. So here's
- 20:12Speaker 1: what I think this is. And this is how I
- 20:14Speaker 1: know Caleb is starting to feel the offense and see
- 20:16Speaker 1: the offense better than anyone. This is simply a screen.
- 20:20Speaker 1: It's a block, block. You're trying to gain leverage, right?
- 20:24Speaker 1: So it's one-on-one, one-on-one, one-on-one. They're all blocking. So he
- 20:28Speaker 1: blocks here. He blocks here. He blocks here. DeAndre Swift,
- 20:31Speaker 1: this is just, hey, let's throw it here. Not so fast.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Not so fast. He sees a one-on-one with the safety
- 20:36Speaker 1: cheated this way. All right. Here's what I don't love
- 20:39Speaker 1: on this screen, though, because it's going that way. Caleb sees, hey,
- 20:43Speaker 1: this guy goes, so it's man. Ah, not a zone. Okay,
- 20:46Speaker 1: no one's blocking him. Let's just take a shot one-on-one.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Here's what I don't understand. Why are they going full
- 20:52Speaker 1: slide right and leaving this defensive end? It just makes
- 20:55Speaker 1: this throw even more impressive. Guy right in your face,
- 20:58Speaker 1: the fadeaway J, and a drop by Roman Dunze. You
- 21:03Speaker 1: can't throw it any better. You can't throw it any
- 21:05Speaker 1: better than that. That's awesome. So many different ways. He
- 21:10Speaker 1: just sees this one-on-one. He's like, go win. As soon
- 21:12Speaker 1: as he sees Blaine run with DeAndre Swift, he's out.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I don't, I just, let's fix this. Because if you're
- 21:18Speaker 1: going to throw that, ah. Right? Did he check to it?
- 21:24Speaker 1: That's not a check right there. I don't know. Here
- 21:27Speaker 1: we go. The fadeaway J. Dude, you can't throw it
- 21:32Speaker 1: any better. Blaine's going with him. Right? Let's see it
- 21:34Speaker 1: from this view. One-on-one. See the safety right here? going
- 21:39Speaker 1: you got 91 in your face you can beat him
- 21:41Speaker 1: with it perfectly throwing football gotta catch it all right
- 21:47Speaker 1: next play right here under center love him under center
- 21:51Speaker 1: okay tight in moving out here we go okay once
- 21:55Speaker 1: you get to under center now it's just a trips
- 21:57Speaker 1: formation with two tight ends looking at the line of
- 22:00Speaker 1: scrimmage saying hey alert alert all right you're playing this
- 22:03Speaker 1: you got this safety This is all, this is all
- 22:06Speaker 1: the chess match. This is all the little things that
- 22:10Speaker 1: Caleb's brought into his game. And it just completely gets them.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I've never seen this route concept in my entire life
- 22:16Speaker 1: to where you're literally just running shallow cross. You bring
- 22:19Speaker 1: them over like, oh, you got him to block because
- 22:21Speaker 1: they run duo, which is double teams everywhere. But I
- 22:24Speaker 1: like this. It's just a little shallow cross and in
- 22:28Speaker 1: and a post. And you just read a low to
- 22:30Speaker 1: high one to two. Watch what this little thing does
- 22:34Speaker 1: to this safety right here. Right? You have the back
- 22:38Speaker 1: coming at the safety, trying to grab him. You want
- 22:41Speaker 1: 14 to grab here, and then Colson leveling wide open.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think Colson's finally found his spot in the offense.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I love it. Right? It's almost like come sit and
- 22:51Speaker 1: then a deep cross instead of an in. I think
- 22:53Speaker 1: that's probably what it is with the back in the flat.
- 22:56Speaker 1: So not an in. So 16 to 18 deep cross.
- 23:01Speaker 1: They love to run these a lot. Alert to the post.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Here's two. Here's three. Pure progression play. See where Caleb's
- 23:09Speaker 1: eyes goes over the field. These guys got no clue
- 23:12Speaker 1: where to go. Look at these. No clue. They think
- 23:15Speaker 1: he's going this way, but in reality, you're going this way.
- 23:18Speaker 1: The play call sequencing, everything about it. Really, really good.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Doesn't matter if he doesn't catch it. A lot of
- 23:26Speaker 1: these drops. I think they had three or four. All right,
- 23:30Speaker 1: so you sell that. Watch. Hey, you got him. Block him.
- 23:33Speaker 1: So he's like, all right. And then watch him over here. Hey, hey, Khalif,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you got 31. Just play in the game. Making sure
- 23:42Speaker 1: this does not feel like pass. This feels like run,
- 23:45Speaker 1: a double motion. Nice job with the play fake. As
- 23:50Speaker 1: he's getting hit, by the way. Right, left tackle. Not great.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Cole Komet, not great. Comes off to help. It's really
- 23:58Speaker 1: Cole Komet, not great. But look, as he's getting hit.
- 24:02Speaker 1: You're throwing that football between three defenders. Boom, boom, boom.
- 24:06Speaker 1: That's unbelievable. We got to see this pocket right here
- 24:10Speaker 1: because this is what really stood out is just the
- 24:13Speaker 1: throws in the tight pocket. He's getting touched and he's
- 24:16Speaker 1: able to throw that and get enough on it. Boom.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Took your head off of it. All right, here we go.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Looks like it's double post. Oh man, that's awesome. Another
- 24:26Speaker 1: Luther burden. So good. They got this a lot. They
- 24:31Speaker 1: ended up chipping the edges quite a bit, right? Thought
- 24:35Speaker 1: this was really good. Just trying to play with their eyes,
- 24:38Speaker 1: trying to affect these hook-curl defenders because what they're playing
- 24:42Speaker 1: is cover three weak, hook-curl, hook-curl, meaning they have this area,
- 24:46Speaker 1: they have this area. Let's just high-low them, right? So
- 24:49Speaker 1: you're going to go a 12-yard in, a 18-yard in,
- 24:55Speaker 1: and then shallow cross. affect this guy one to two
- 25:02Speaker 1: to three. It's a pure drop back pass. You don't
- 25:05Speaker 1: see him do that a lot. Perfectly thrown football. It's
- 25:09Speaker 1: like he knows exactly where to go and knows exactly
- 25:12Speaker 1: how to read. Back goes here, here. Look at it.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Just playing that triangle game off the hook curl. It's
- 25:19Speaker 1: really solid. And then Luther's got some jukies. Love this, right?
- 25:26Speaker 1: So you're going to chip out Bring Khalif on the under.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Just put someone behind him. And you're just trying to
- 25:33Speaker 1: put these hook curl defenders in conflict. That's all you're doing.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Because he has to go here. Once the back goes, 14,
- 25:44Speaker 1: you're just playing off of him. Flat defenders out of it.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That's exactly what they're doing. Read off him. That's perfect.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Getting these second level windows. That's hard. That's wide open.
- 25:58Speaker 1: And the Jukies. Called this late hit right here. Yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 1: you definitely can't do that. What are we doing? That's
- 26:10Speaker 1: really late. Alright, 3rd and 17. 21 seconds left in
- 26:14Speaker 1: the half. Alright, let's see what their play call is
- 26:16Speaker 1: for this. 3rd and 17 though. Not many of these.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, come on. You get a screen for
- 26:23Speaker 1: a touchdown? A couple different things. We're not going to
- 26:26Speaker 1: break this down a bunch, but amazing blocking. I just
- 26:28Speaker 1: want you to watch. One, two, three, four. All these
- 26:32Speaker 1: guys get out there to Luther and then him set
- 26:36Speaker 1: it up. Watch it right here. Watch the pass rush.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I mean, three guys, four on one, two, three, four, five.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You got extras. Just go move. And you're running. You're
- 26:50Speaker 1: outrunning the defensive end. That's unbelievable. That should not have happened.
- 26:55Speaker 1: By any stretch of imagination, watch how quickly he throws this. Yeah.
- 27:00Speaker 1: And him just looking a little bit at DeAndre Swift.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Watch what it does to this defensive end. He's not
- 27:04Speaker 1: sure what to do. Oh, man. Where are we going?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Tries to hit him. Not so fast. Touchdown, Missouri. Fans
- 27:14Speaker 1: love watching the fans. Some of you guys are watching
- 27:16Speaker 1: this video right now. All right, next play. Second and long.
- 27:18Speaker 1: They were behind the sticks a lot. Second and 15.
- 27:22Speaker 1: See what they're doing. Quick snap again. Is this another
- 27:26Speaker 1: quick snap? It is. Watch this. Another cheetah snap. They
- 27:30Speaker 1: did it twice on second down. No one's ready. Watch it.
- 27:36Speaker 1: No one's ready. Now they're looking, but watch how slow
- 27:38Speaker 1: the getoff is. Come on now. And they're pulling the
- 27:42Speaker 1: guard a little bit. This is silly. This is so dumb.
- 27:46Speaker 1: A couple different things. You're pulling this. Both of them
- 27:49Speaker 1: end up pressuring. You're pulling the right guard. You're just
- 27:51Speaker 1: going to go on a 15-yard in route. That's all
- 27:53Speaker 1: it is. Watch the pocket movement. Watch the pocket movement.
- 28:00Speaker 1: That's crazy. Deep out right here, 15 yard in, post route.
- 28:06Speaker 1: If you get middle of the field open, which is
- 28:09Speaker 1: the case, right? Meaning like these guys blitz, not the coverage.
- 28:13Speaker 1: It's just cover one. It's just man to man. But
- 28:16Speaker 1: you're able to move just enough over here and throw this.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Watch when he throws this ball. He's starting to throw
- 28:22Speaker 1: this football right here. That's called trust. The ball's out.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Still not all the way there, second and long, edge
- 28:28Speaker 1: of field goal range, get your stealth going, that's unbelievable, dude,
- 28:31Speaker 1: let's watch it from this view, because this is next level, understanding, right,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you're getting this, no one's ready, cheat account, cheat account,
- 28:39Speaker 1: not there, one, two, three, four, five, he feels a
- 28:44Speaker 1: lot this way, he feels the opening this way, so
- 28:46Speaker 1: he just resets a little bit, watch it, just enough,
- 28:48Speaker 1: just that one movement, and then understands, hey, Now, instead
- 28:52Speaker 1: of getting pushed back by 79 or 62, you're right
- 28:55Speaker 1: in the middle of this and you're able to throw it.
- 28:57Speaker 1: You can't even see the defender. You can't even see
- 29:00Speaker 1: Colson Loveland in the frame. He throws it right on him.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't think you understand how hard it is to
- 29:05Speaker 1: throw the football to a guy who is not looking.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Let's see it from this view too, because it's too good.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Eyes down the field the whole time. He's not rush watching, seeing, hey,
- 29:13Speaker 1: what are they doing? Okay, they're bringing six. We got
- 29:15Speaker 1: to get to the middle of the football field. That
- 29:18Speaker 1: quick movement right there. That's so good. Hit your back foot.
- 29:21Speaker 1: And your left foot is not up. Your left foot
- 29:25Speaker 1: is to the side. So then you can do it,
- 29:27Speaker 1: but watch his shoulder plane. Shoulder plane's good. Doesn't move.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Now you're in a really good position to throw the football.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Get through it. Perfectly thrown football. So good. All right,
- 29:38Speaker 1: second and one. right it's 20 to 14 Patriots kept
- 29:43Speaker 1: this thing close love this though watch this play just
- 29:47Speaker 1: nice little easy touchdown throw most tight ends wouldn't score
- 29:52Speaker 1: look at all these white jerseys running to them nope
- 29:56Speaker 1: nope nope nope four missed for a touchdown let's go
- 30:00Speaker 1: Pretty simple, right? You're just going to go in, back out,
- 30:04Speaker 1: corner route, over route. Not hard. It's out of under center.
- 30:09Speaker 1: It's out of strong left. Nasty. Nasty puts these splits tight.
- 30:14Speaker 1: It's out of 13 personnel though. I like it. So
- 30:16Speaker 1: you know you're going to get base. You know you're
- 30:18Speaker 1: probably going to get five man pressure. And when you
- 30:20Speaker 1: get five man pressure, there's one less guy covering. And
- 30:24Speaker 1: this is exactly what happened. Five man pressure. They get
- 30:28Speaker 1: sucked up into it because the run game is so good.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Easy money. And it's just a bonus that he was
- 30:32Speaker 1: able to score. Because most tight ends in this situation
- 30:36Speaker 1: do not score. Under center. Here we go. Set hut. Pipe.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I like how he uses his cadence. Look at him
- 30:42Speaker 1: peeking out there just in case you get pressure. I
- 30:46Speaker 1: like this a lot. Ball fake. That's easy. He made
- 30:49Speaker 1: that look so easy. It's not. The jump throw. Come
- 30:52Speaker 1: on now. Get in. All right, favorite throw of the game,
- 30:57Speaker 1: third and 11. This is amazing. Third and 11, backed up.
- 31:04Speaker 1: This takes trust. Watch this throw. Are they bringing pressure?
- 31:08Speaker 1: Are they not? Yes, they are. They're bringing six. It's
- 31:14Speaker 1: so good. So they bring 53-14. These are the down guys.
- 31:19Speaker 1: They're bringing all sorts of pressure. They're playing zone defense
- 31:23Speaker 1: behind it. Okay. Okay. He ends up dropping, but he blitzes.
- 31:27Speaker 1: So they're bringing like Sawdog, which is Sam and Will.
- 31:31Speaker 1: You get a free runner. Not great. Not great at all.
- 31:34Speaker 1: You don't want a free runner. But they got us.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Not so fast. When you have a quarterback to move
- 31:38Speaker 1: like this, boom. Come on. Whoop. That's been shown in
- 31:42Speaker 1: the linebacker room. And then just the feel to be
- 31:46Speaker 1: able to reset, throw this thing. I mean, this is
- 31:49Speaker 1: third and forever. You're trying to get this shot. It's
- 31:52Speaker 1: just two deep curls. Call it dog routes. And it's
- 31:55Speaker 1: the pocket movement for me. Not a lot of people
- 31:57Speaker 1: in the NFL that are making this play. Just like,
- 31:59Speaker 1: get off me. Let's watch it from this view because
- 32:02Speaker 1: it's going to be so good. You're just going to
- 32:03Speaker 1: run Roma-Dunze right there. So they end up sliding the
- 32:06Speaker 1: line to here. So Swift has here to then here.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And they don't re-mic it. So as a quarterback, you've
- 32:14Speaker 1: got to understand, hey, if you don't re-mic it, all right,
- 32:17Speaker 1: who am I hot off of? Well, I'm hot off
- 32:19Speaker 1: here because Swift is the nickel. Watch this. Woo, sets
- 32:25Speaker 1: him up. It's like he barely even touches him. And
- 32:29Speaker 1: then you get this pocket reset, and you're able to
- 32:31Speaker 1: throw this in the middle of the football field over
- 32:34Speaker 1: and over again. This is an unbelievable play. All right,
- 32:36Speaker 1: last play in the breakdown, third and nine. A lot
- 32:38Speaker 1: of these third down and crazy conversions, they've done an
- 32:41Speaker 1: unbelievable job with it all year long. Now they're showing pressure.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Now they're not moving. Are you kidding me? Like to
- 32:49Speaker 1: keep the drive alive, they said, hey, we're not pressuring.
- 32:52Speaker 1: We're just going to throw this tight window. Does this
- 32:54Speaker 1: play look familiar to you? Because it's the exact play
- 32:56Speaker 1: they ran earlier in the game. I mean, not many
- 33:01Speaker 1: people in the world are even trying that show. So
- 33:04Speaker 1: they're trying that throw. They pressured not so fast. They're
- 33:07Speaker 1: going to blitz. They're going to check out. So this
- 33:09Speaker 1: is that 12-yard in route. This is that 18-yard in route.
- 33:14Speaker 1: And you have Kalief just coming across on a shallow cross.
- 33:17Speaker 1: So one. to two, you want to hit this for
- 33:20Speaker 1: two high safety, but it's not like a curl route.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You 14 getting up, there's so many different ways that
- 33:27Speaker 1: this can get intercepted. I mean, this ball should be
- 33:30Speaker 1: caught two yards off the hash. You're throwing it between
- 33:32Speaker 1: a square of guys. The amount of trust in the
- 33:36Speaker 1: vision this takes, we're going to see it from both views,
- 33:38Speaker 1: is just really, truly next level. Like, it's crazy good.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Crazy good. They don't end up pressuring. Come across. Watch
- 33:49Speaker 1: the throw and the timing and what he sees from
- 33:52Speaker 1: this because it's truly next level. Step up in the pocket.
- 33:56Speaker 1: He could have easily just taken that and they're probably punting.
- 33:59Speaker 1: He said, no, you know what? I'm feeling myself. And
- 34:04Speaker 1: then you throw a back shoulder dig route. What a
- 34:08Speaker 1: catch though. What a throw. What a catch to end
- 34:13Speaker 1: it for the Bears. I mean, this is play 63
- 34:14Speaker 1: in the game. Roma Dunze, how about the... I mean,
- 34:17Speaker 1: this is just... This is silly. Some of these throws
- 34:20Speaker 1: are stupid. Crazy good. All right, so as you can tell,
- 34:27Speaker 1: a lot of really, really good stuff. It's elite quarterbacking.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Let's get to the next guy, Kyler Murray. If you
- 34:32Speaker 1: look at the whole season of Kyler, it hasn't played
- 34:34Speaker 1: extremely well stat-wise, but the film is a lot better
- 34:37Speaker 1: than you might think. Two touchdowns, two interceptions. Needs to
- 34:41Speaker 1: use his legs more, but the Minnesota Vikings are 6-0.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Let's get into it. All right, Kyler Murray, third and seven.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Thought he played well. Not great. And there's some plays
- 34:50Speaker 1: that are good. There's some plays that are bad. Thought
- 34:52Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson got going. Got to get the first right
- 34:55Speaker 1: here by JJ. I thought this was a little bit
- 34:57Speaker 1: of a mess up. We're going to go through each
- 34:58Speaker 1: of these plays. There's 10 of them. Not by Kyler.
- 35:01Speaker 1: But I'm not sure if they wanted four by one
- 35:03Speaker 1: right there or not. So what you're going to have, obviously,
- 35:07Speaker 1: if I can run this thing. Here's the first down marker.
- 35:10Speaker 1: So third and seven. You're going to motion over. Get
- 35:14Speaker 1: to a three by one formation. You have JJ here. Sorry.
- 35:18Speaker 1: You know, JJ right here on like a hitch route.
- 35:21Speaker 1: You're going to have a corner, a post and you're
- 35:23Speaker 1: you got something coming to him. So I'm thinking they're
- 35:26Speaker 1: trying to get like a backwards smash route, which is
- 35:29Speaker 1: like you high low the corner. That's one. That's two.
- 35:33Speaker 1: That's three. But it just looks a little bit weird.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I thought Kyler took a little bit to get going
- 35:38Speaker 1: and to feel normal again. Thought the Colts did a
- 35:41Speaker 1: nice job. I say normal because they're coming off by
- 35:44Speaker 1: a week. I thought the Colts did a nice job
- 35:45Speaker 1: of sort of pressuring him at certain times. He needs
- 35:47Speaker 1: to use his legs a lot more. He's only averaging
- 35:50Speaker 1: about 155 yards a game, but the Colts just made
- 35:52Speaker 1: him play quarterback. They play this too high coverage quite
- 35:55Speaker 1: a bit, so I just don't know if you should
- 35:57Speaker 1: have this guy in line with this guy. Nice job
- 36:00Speaker 1: just delivering the ball on time. Nice job trying to
- 36:04Speaker 1: get that right there. I don't know if they ended
- 36:06Speaker 1: up giving it to him or not, but they may have.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Looks like he's short right there. But as we're going
- 36:12Speaker 1: to watch, we're going to watch his mechanics a lot today.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I thought that there were some times where he was
- 36:16Speaker 1: a little bit off mechanically. I thought he didn't feel
- 36:18Speaker 1: really comfortable until about the third, midway through the third
- 36:21Speaker 1: quarter of the game. Right there. So I just don't
- 36:24Speaker 1: know if 31 is supposed to be going this way.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I know they're flooding it. We'd love to get something
- 36:28Speaker 1: back across over here. But the Vikings, man, they are
- 36:32Speaker 1: 6-0 and they are rolling fast. Just throw Justin Jefferson
- 36:35Speaker 1: the football more. All right, here we go. Third and eight.
- 36:38Speaker 1: All right. Struggled in the red zone. Didn't score a
- 36:40Speaker 1: lot of points. Come from behind win. Three by one formation.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Jefferson's all the way up there. So you know right now,
- 36:48Speaker 1: just by the bracket, that you're probably going to work
- 36:51Speaker 1: this side of the field. What route combination can they
- 36:54Speaker 1: run to try and affect this? I like what they're
- 36:59Speaker 1: doing right here. All right. TJ Hawkinson trying to get
- 37:03Speaker 1: leverage on the nickel. You got to put this ball
- 37:04Speaker 1: up and down. This is luck. He's lucky. This did
- 37:06Speaker 1: not get intercepted. He was out of bounds right here.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Got to put this ball up. We're not just going
- 37:10Speaker 1: to do good, good plays. We're going to give you
- 37:12Speaker 1: all of them. You're going to go in. It's a
- 37:14Speaker 1: grab route. You're going to go in. It's a grab route.
- 37:17Speaker 1: And you sort of arc release this to gain leverage
- 37:19Speaker 1: on the nickel. And the corner is the read right here.
- 37:22Speaker 1: So Kyler, QB vision cone, you're going to read the corner.
- 37:26Speaker 1: And if he attaches and you need to throw this
- 37:28Speaker 1: a hitch earlier, right? So Hawk, Does a nice job
- 37:32Speaker 1: of sort of getting leverage on him right here. The
- 37:34Speaker 1: ball needs to go up now. And it's going up now.
- 37:38Speaker 1: So here's what it is. You've got to put it
- 37:40Speaker 1: up a hair earlier, and you've got to put it
- 37:42Speaker 1: more on the line. Right? Because the windows are a
- 37:45Speaker 1: lot tighter down there in the red zone. You've got
- 37:47Speaker 1: to drive this ball here. The DB undercuts. It's a
- 37:50Speaker 1: nice play, but too much air on the football. For
- 37:54Speaker 1: my liking out of Kyler. Also, I want to see
- 37:57Speaker 1: him use his legs down here. I don't think he
- 37:58Speaker 1: has any rushing touchdowns on the year. Very little throwing
- 38:05Speaker 1: yards either, but the fact that they're 6-0, they're not
- 38:07Speaker 1: turning the football over. He's only got two interceptions on
- 38:09Speaker 1: the year. This is a heck of a— look at this. Oh,
- 38:14Speaker 1: so close. He's out, though. Both of these guys got it. Out.
- 38:17Speaker 1: All right, second and nine. One of my favorite throws
- 38:19Speaker 1: of the game, to be completely honest with you, when
- 38:21Speaker 1: you're backed up like this, you're in heavy personnel. You've
- 38:25Speaker 1: got a tight end there, a tight end there, a
- 38:27Speaker 1: fullback there. back there so it's 22 personnel the first
- 38:30Speaker 1: digit talks to the running backs okay the second digit
- 38:33Speaker 1: talks to the tight ends um and you know if
- 38:37Speaker 1: i can draw it's just one-on-one right here they got
- 38:40Speaker 1: all these dudes in the box you got nine guys
- 38:42Speaker 1: in the box you got a free safety it's one-on-one
- 38:45Speaker 1: can you make this throw from the field when you
- 38:48Speaker 1: go on this play action let's watch it right here
- 38:50Speaker 1: then we'll break it down here we go going out
- 38:52Speaker 1: to the left heck of a throw heck of a
- 38:54Speaker 1: route favorite throw of the day this is sort of
- 38:57Speaker 1: what got him going it was played 25 of the
- 38:58Speaker 1: game thought he felt this it's just a little bootleg
- 39:01Speaker 1: you're trying to get this little flat route and then
- 39:04Speaker 1: an out route and you just want to high low
- 39:07Speaker 1: um who is this safety right here this safety is
- 39:09Speaker 1: going to end up taking it you should probably cut
- 39:12Speaker 1: right there he just gets out going to your left's
- 39:14Speaker 1: a lot more difficult too good job setting your feet
- 39:17Speaker 1: okay you got a guy right in your face throw
- 39:20Speaker 1: it over top don't know how that ball didn't get
- 39:22Speaker 1: batted that's a tight window You can't leave this inside.
- 39:26Speaker 1: You have to throw it down and away. That's exactly
- 39:28Speaker 1: what he does is a perfectly thrown football. Cannot get
- 39:32Speaker 1: any better than this. This is what fires me up
- 39:34Speaker 1: about him. It's not like it's a bunch of yards.
- 39:38Speaker 1: They've only had 14 red zone trips this entire year.
- 39:41Speaker 1: I know they're not in the red zone right here,
- 39:42Speaker 1: so they're not a kill it offense, but he's playing well.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Last six quarters before this game, forget these were pretty good,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and they went on bye week. I like that. Look
- 39:54Speaker 1: at that. Right in your face. Man, that's a difficult
- 39:57Speaker 1: throw because you have to throw over. You're trying to
- 40:00Speaker 1: get this hook curl defender. You're throwing over this hook
- 40:02Speaker 1: curl defender. And then, obviously, before the corner gets there,
- 40:07Speaker 1: you can't miss this inside. That is a dime. Let's
- 40:09Speaker 1: see it from this view. I like him under center.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I think it's a lot better for the offense. Look
- 40:14Speaker 1: at me, guys. I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
- 40:17Speaker 1: nine guys right there 10 in picture with the safety
- 40:21Speaker 1: all right not sure what this fake is um don't
- 40:26Speaker 1: know if he opened up the wrong way or they
- 40:27Speaker 1: just want him doing that but i like it sit
- 40:29Speaker 1: right there looking up there that's a big boy throw
- 40:33Speaker 1: with a guy right in your face right there come
- 40:35Speaker 1: on now you can't miss this inside it's a dime
- 40:38Speaker 1: nice route too he was out he was inside leverage
- 40:41Speaker 1: which means the db was you got to go out
- 40:43Speaker 1: great throw all right next play right here three by
- 40:47Speaker 1: one formation into the boundary. What is the boundary? Well,
- 40:49Speaker 1: the boundary is the short side of the field. And
- 40:52Speaker 1: this is the wide side of the field. So short side,
- 40:56Speaker 1: small side of the field, whatever you want to call it.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Then you motion over. Now it's just a two by two.
- 41:00Speaker 1: So it gives the defense a little bit different of
- 41:01Speaker 1: a look. Play 28 of the game. Gotten a little
- 41:05Speaker 1: bit of a roll after that play 25 right there.
- 41:07Speaker 1: This is dime. Come on. Come on. This is hard
- 41:10Speaker 1: to do. They're just selling a fake bubble right here
- 41:13Speaker 1: and they're bringing everything across. I don't know how many
- 41:15Speaker 1: times they've worked this first cover too, but you sell
- 41:17Speaker 1: this bubble, get this corner to go up. It's a
- 41:19Speaker 1: stock and block and you throw this to the field
- 41:23Speaker 1: can show the arm strength. And then you're going to
- 41:25Speaker 1: bring across a 12 to 14 yard crosser and then
- 41:30Speaker 1: a dagger right here or a deep in whatever you
- 41:33Speaker 1: want to call it. We call this middle cross because
- 41:35Speaker 1: it's not quite deep enough. We go right here. So
- 41:37Speaker 1: this is one, that's two, that's three. All the way over.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I like this read a lot. I like this throw.
- 41:45Speaker 1: You are in command. You're understanding what you need to do.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And this is called a turkey hole, ladies and gentlemen.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Can you fit the ball in the turkey hole? Which
- 41:54Speaker 1: means get it up and over this corner. It's already
- 41:56Speaker 1: starting to throw it. Before this safety and not get
- 41:58Speaker 1: our guy killed. I mean, that corner plays it really well.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Heck of a catch. Look at that. All reach out.
- 42:05Speaker 1: You can't throw it any better than that. It's in him.
- 42:08Speaker 1: It's in him consistently. Just got to keep showing it.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Really impressed with this, though. JJ, give him the football
- 42:15Speaker 1: way more. Got a lot of guys in the box.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You don't usually love this versus cover two. Let's see
- 42:20Speaker 1: the fake. Just enough. Look at this, young quarterbacks. Watch
- 42:23Speaker 1: him just barely separate. Just right there. That's all you need.
- 42:26Speaker 1: You don't have to have some big pump fake because
- 42:28Speaker 1: there's no way you're going to get the ball up.
- 42:31Speaker 1: There's a safety off the screen before the safety gets over.
- 42:35Speaker 1: That's all you need. Just right there. Stay on his toes.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Really good technique. Really good form. Right there. And then,
- 42:41Speaker 1: I mean, the catch is next level. See it from
- 42:46Speaker 1: this view. Okay. Bring it over. I like it. Just
- 42:51Speaker 1: barely release the football. Right? That's big time. Look at this.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Right there. I'm trying to go slow-mo. Boom. Guys, that
- 42:59Speaker 1: is a tight window throw. Excellent. Next play, third and seven.
- 43:03Speaker 1: All right. So I like this. A lot of cat
- 43:07Speaker 1: and mouse. He sees it's pressure. They show pressure. He
- 43:12Speaker 1: checks to max protection. He brings the tight end in.
- 43:16Speaker 1: He brings this across. Let's just start it there. And
- 43:18Speaker 1: then we're going to get going. They end up bringing
- 43:20Speaker 1: cover zero. They add. Excellent throw. Excellent catch on a very,
- 43:25Speaker 1: very important third down. So many different things go into it.
- 43:29Speaker 1: So he's right there. He's going on yellow count, which
- 43:31Speaker 1: means you're going on two. Why did he say hut?
- 43:35Speaker 1: When he says hut, that's what they do. All right,
- 43:37Speaker 1: let's check to it. You give him a tool in
- 43:39Speaker 1: the toolbox. Alert, alert. right here, back here. Watch this
- 43:43Speaker 1: safety come down on Hawk because he knows if he blocks,
- 43:48Speaker 1: he's going to add really quickly. Excellent job coaching. The
- 43:51Speaker 1: next play right here is block, return, and that's a touchdown.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, block, get up the field,
- 43:56Speaker 1: it's a touchdown. Instead, you just have a built-in hot
- 44:00Speaker 1: throw on an out route, which is exactly what you
- 44:03Speaker 1: want to hit, exactly what you want to do. It's
- 44:05Speaker 1: from the field. Look at this throw. Perfect. So many
- 44:08Speaker 1: good things on quarterbacking on this play. So many different
- 44:10Speaker 1: things go through your head. So let's talk through it. Alert, alert.
- 44:13Speaker 1: They bring safety. Middle linebacker, will linebacker. He alerts it,
- 44:19Speaker 1: which means instead of going to something else, you're just
- 44:21Speaker 1: alerting to max pro. So alert max pro. Call it
- 44:24Speaker 1: whatever you want. We would call this 74 protection, right?
- 44:29Speaker 1: And then you full slide. But I like this a lot.
- 44:32Speaker 1: This is next level. They were taught really well, hey,
- 44:35Speaker 1: if he adds, which he will, you got to get
- 44:37Speaker 1: the ball out a lot quicker. But I'm telling you,
- 44:39Speaker 1: a bluff right there, that is screaming to be hit.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I guarantee the Colts are going to get hit on
- 44:44Speaker 1: that if they end up cover zero in. One, two, three.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Look at that. Guy in your face. Three guys in
- 44:49Speaker 1: your face. White jerseys. The old huck and duck gets there.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Great throw. I just love watching quarterbacks get out there.
- 44:58Speaker 1: That's heart. All right, alert, alert. We see it. They
- 45:01Speaker 1: don't check out of it. 25 comes. Boom. Get this out. Boom.
- 45:07Speaker 1: That's high-level quarterbacking. Next play right here. All right. Two-by-two set.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Looks like they're playing a lot of man coverage now.
- 45:15Speaker 1: They said, all right, let's figure out what we're doing.
- 45:18Speaker 1: What do you got for us, Kyler? What do you got?
- 45:21Speaker 1: Good play action. I miss this one. First of all,
- 45:26Speaker 1: it would have been an insane catch. Second of all,
- 45:28Speaker 1: I thought he did miss this one. Um, interesting way
- 45:33Speaker 1: to do this. So play action. This is a deep cross.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I think 18 to 22, a through route, which means
- 45:43Speaker 1: you're running through the defense and then a dagger route.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I've never seen, and I don't know if this is
- 45:49Speaker 1: supposed to happen. I've never seen a dagger route with
- 45:53Speaker 1: a deep cross coming to it. Maybe it is. Maybe
- 45:56Speaker 1: it's a new age play. Don't know if I've seen
- 45:58Speaker 1: anyone else run it, but You're pretty much crossing right
- 46:02Speaker 1: here and then a dagger route right there. This is
- 46:05Speaker 1: the one you want to hit, man. This is definitely
- 46:08Speaker 1: an alert, right? But watch Addison right there. He goes
- 46:12Speaker 1: through and if he lets this ball go, I'm telling
- 46:16Speaker 1: you right now, I've seen a lot of guys throw it.
- 46:18Speaker 1: It's a touchdown probably. He ends up throwing here, which
- 46:22Speaker 1: I like it, but see this angle that he's on?
- 46:25Speaker 1: See the receiver's angle? he should probably throw him there
- 46:29Speaker 1: instead of he throws him there, and it's a much
- 46:32Speaker 1: more difficult throw. I mean, it's a dime. It is.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I personally think, and this is just how I've been taught,
- 46:39Speaker 1: that should be the read. Although some people teach, hey,
- 46:44Speaker 1: let's watch where he's seeing. So he's looking straight down here.
- 46:48Speaker 1: So he says, I'm guessing what they're saying to him
- 46:50Speaker 1: is if this corner attaches the three, that's your throw.
- 46:54Speaker 1: So if that's the case, great. Just barely missed it.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I would love to see him throw it more on
- 46:58Speaker 1: a line. Although, he sends him upfield. It touches his hand. Boom.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Once again, I have no idea how he's getting coached.
- 47:06Speaker 1: This is how we were coached. But based on how
- 47:10Speaker 1: his eyes are getting around, maybe he's looking at the safety.
- 47:14Speaker 1: It's hard to tell. The 27's falling around. I would
- 47:16Speaker 1: have thrown this right here. I mean, I say me.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Who knows? That's open, though. See how he throws it
- 47:25Speaker 1: over top? Oh. Would have been a heck of a
- 47:29Speaker 1: catch though. Stuff's open. He's throwing. In this whole game,
- 47:33Speaker 1: he was just a little bit off. Just a little
- 47:35Speaker 1: bit off on every throw. Next play, pistol formation. Then
- 47:39Speaker 1: you go to home back. Now it's just a 2x2
- 47:41Speaker 1: with a stack. Say 2x2. There's two guys over here.
- 47:45Speaker 1: There's two guys over here. They call it 2x2. Right?
- 47:48Speaker 1: We're learning a little football right here. Play action. Play action.
- 47:54Speaker 1: never never good when there's one two three four five
- 48:00Speaker 1: guys in a line right there this looks crazy to
- 48:03Speaker 1: me they're pulling they pulling a guard no the left
- 48:07Speaker 1: guard just gets absolutely smoked back into oblivion um there's
- 48:12Speaker 1: a miss throw though right here show it can't miss
- 48:15Speaker 1: it and i've seen so many times jj take this
- 48:19Speaker 1: and just go out the back door um And I
- 48:24Speaker 1: think we focused on like why the miss was. Well,
- 48:26Speaker 1: I just, when there's five guys in a line right
- 48:30Speaker 1: there and you're trying to throw, you're trying to read.
- 48:33Speaker 1: First of all, it messes with this. They're bringing five,
- 48:36Speaker 1: playing five zone pressure, two deep, four under, which is
- 48:41Speaker 1: very interesting coverage. But a miss. Let's watch right here.
- 48:45Speaker 1: So this left guard gets boomed back. You're trying to
- 48:47Speaker 1: go here. You're trying to have the fullback, I think,
- 48:51Speaker 1: go here. Then you're trying to have the back go here.
- 48:53Speaker 1: It's just a lot. That being said, you know, look
- 48:59Speaker 1: at this. He gets knocked off. So one person can
- 49:04Speaker 1: ruin a play. And, yeah, he's got to be more accurate,
- 49:06Speaker 1: and he can make this throw. But how many guys
- 49:08Speaker 1: are going over here? It's just like, man, that's a
- 49:11Speaker 1: heck of a play call. Just got to make the
- 49:14Speaker 1: throw behind him. I'm not sure if he slips or not,
- 49:17Speaker 1: but I'm telling you, I've seen him catch this and
- 49:19Speaker 1: go out the back. let's see it from the defense's
- 49:21Speaker 1: point of view and what it looks like there's so
- 49:22Speaker 1: many it's like student body um to the right offense
- 49:26Speaker 1: is left see what it looks like yeah that's hard
- 49:31Speaker 1: 58's got to read through all that get his eyes
- 49:33Speaker 1: back this is a really nice play just got to
- 49:35Speaker 1: make the throw All right, this is his lone touchdown
- 49:39Speaker 1: of the game. 87, going to the flat. Hawk. When
- 49:45Speaker 1: they got to have it, a little play action. Both
- 49:47Speaker 1: these times they've gone this way, right? One was a touchdown.
- 49:50Speaker 1: One was a big-time play. A couple different things here.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I like this. It's K5 all-cross. So K5 all-cross is
- 49:59Speaker 1: like K5 wide banana. K5 is protection. K5 means you're
- 50:03Speaker 1: opening to the left, but the line's sliding right. Weird,
- 50:05Speaker 1: I know. Don't ask it. JJ has the back inline route. Okay.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Jordan Addison has an over route. And then you're also
- 50:14Speaker 1: crossing here. But then this is your first read. It's
- 50:18Speaker 1: to the flat. So you really read it one to
- 50:22Speaker 1: two to three to four. This is a classic, classic
- 50:27Speaker 1: play in a West Coast offense. And it still works.
- 50:31Speaker 1: I love it. This is usually made for this tight
- 50:34Speaker 1: end right here. But they do it a really nice job.
- 50:37Speaker 1: sniffing it out. Kyler just said, hey, you know what?
- 50:39Speaker 1: That's my first read. Let me go get it. Boom. Easy.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Easy money. Not a lot to break down here. Touchdown.
- 50:44Speaker 1: You do have to have a perfectly accurate throw, which
- 50:47Speaker 1: he does. I don't know why he turns back around,
- 50:50Speaker 1: but he turns back around, gets it. Boom. So I
- 50:54Speaker 1: like it. They sort of try to sneak out. You
- 50:56Speaker 1: got JJ there. You got Jordan here. Really nice. Nice, nice, nice.
- 51:05Speaker 1: It's got to be accurate down here. Windows are a
- 51:07Speaker 1: lot tighter. Second and 10. Next play. Oh, we're going fast.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Love that. One of the better throws of the game.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Play 46 of the game. Trying to go fast. Trying
- 51:18Speaker 1: to get everyone set. It's called a cheat account or
- 51:22Speaker 1: a quick count. Okay. It says hot. Right. Let's figure
- 51:26Speaker 1: it out. Let's catch them off guard. Then when they
- 51:28Speaker 1: get caught off guard, they usually, those safeties go a
- 51:31Speaker 1: little bit further than you think. And then we're going
- 51:33Speaker 1: to hit the middle of the football field. You can
- 51:36Speaker 1: go out and up. It's just double out and up.
- 51:38Speaker 1: So it's out and up. You can bend it. Out
- 51:40Speaker 1: and up. Out and up. Out and up. Right? So
- 51:45Speaker 1: you just one to two to back. Three. I like
- 51:51Speaker 1: that they're doing it out of this empty. Kyler feels
- 51:53Speaker 1: really comfortable in empty. He's trying to throw it right there.
- 51:56Speaker 1: But it is a nice job of pumping the safety.
- 51:59Speaker 1: You don't think he means to. You want to work
- 52:02Speaker 1: away from three receiver side. He goes right here. Backer
- 52:06Speaker 1: tries to undercut it. They're so worried about the best
- 52:08Speaker 1: receiver in football or one of the best receivers in football.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Makes a really nice throw. That's a really nice throw.
- 52:17Speaker 1: I think he was ready for him to get in there,
- 52:18Speaker 1: but he gets pushed off. Good job of just coming
- 52:21Speaker 1: back quickly and then letting it go. But the guy
- 52:23Speaker 1: right in his face can't really follow through. Look at
- 52:26Speaker 1: that follow through. You're getting almost like hitting on the
- 52:29Speaker 1: Colts jersey. Can't do that. Dime. Can't throw it any better.
- 52:34Speaker 1: This is really impressive. There's some plays in this game.
- 52:37Speaker 1: He just has to be more consistent with the easy stuff.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Let's watch it from this view. Get in there, right?
- 52:44Speaker 1: You're like, well, why is he working that side? Well,
- 52:46Speaker 1: because 51's the mic. Usually he runs down the middle
- 52:49Speaker 1: of the field in this Tampa 2. He's staying up
- 52:52Speaker 1: here on this check down. So that's where you want
- 52:54Speaker 1: to go versus too high. The middle of the field
- 52:57Speaker 1: is going to be wide open. That's hard to do.
- 52:59Speaker 1: That re-clutch right there when you're thinking to throw, staying
- 53:02Speaker 1: on it and saying, hey, he's the guy. Jumping by Hawk.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Nice play. All right, last play. Second and 18. Last
- 53:09Speaker 1: play of the breakdown. Kyler Murray, Vikings. Thought they played well.
- 53:14Speaker 1: They can get a lot better. And I love this
- 53:17Speaker 1: a lot. This is so good. This is what they
- 53:21Speaker 1: need more of from Kyler Murray. Like going out, I
- 53:25Speaker 1: don't care if he gets called back or not. This
- 53:26Speaker 1: is awesome. Forget about callback. Forget about whatever it is.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I mean, they're trying to, he's just trying to throw this.
- 53:34Speaker 1: He's trying to throw that right here. Just a little
- 53:37Speaker 1: get open route. It's not open. Let's go make something
- 53:40Speaker 1: miss and trust our guy down the football field. It's
- 53:43Speaker 1: like an inside fade. A little in. Go sit right there.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Some type of double move that's just trying to hit there.
- 53:50Speaker 1: If not, go make something happen. This is what Vikings
- 53:57Speaker 1: fans want. You're 6-0. Go make something happen. Really good
- 54:01Speaker 1: throw and catch. Stats would have been a lot better.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Awesome job right here. Just escaping. You don't have to
- 54:06Speaker 1: use your legs. You don't have a lot of rushing
- 54:08Speaker 1: yards on the year. You just have to be able
- 54:10Speaker 1: to be mobile and escape. That's exactly what they do.
- 54:17Speaker 1: Probably calling here. Oh, gosh, that's such bush league. I
- 54:20Speaker 1: hate when defenders do that. They're taught to do it.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Hold or not, whatever. This is a dime of a throw.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Look at him as he's jumping. As he's jumping, he's
- 54:29Speaker 1: able to throw this. It's awesome. Perfectly dimed. Dimed up. Throw. Look,
- 54:35Speaker 1: the Vikings got to play a little better on offense,
- 54:39Speaker 1: but if their defense is doing what they're doing, they
- 54:42Speaker 1: are going to continue to win. Kyler getting more comfortable,
- 54:46Speaker 1: for sure. All right, so as you can see, film,
- 54:48Speaker 1: it's good. It's not great, but they continue to win.
- 54:51Speaker 1: He's got to use his legs more. All right, let's
- 54:52Speaker 1: get into the last breakdown of the show, and that
- 54:55Speaker 1: is J.J. McCarthy. We saw it, man. His first start, J.J.
- 54:59Speaker 1: McCarthy is absolutely balling. I'm glad he got a second chance.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I'm glad he's letting it rip. Let's watch the film
- 55:05Speaker 1: and see how. All right, first play, J.J. McCarthy. This
- 55:09Speaker 1: is play four of the game. Dude is playing with
- 55:11Speaker 1: a reckless abandon in all the good ways. This is
- 55:15Speaker 1: not an easy defense to go against. They're really good
- 55:18Speaker 1: at pressure rate, multiple sacks this year, and you're going
- 55:22Speaker 1: to see some good, some bad, but mainly good. This
- 55:27Speaker 1: is a great, great game plan by Matt Nagy. I'm
- 55:31Speaker 1: excited about this kid. They have an identity. It's run
- 55:34Speaker 1: the football and let JJ throw the ball deep. Malik
- 55:37Speaker 1: neighbors showed up. Cam Scadaboo showed up. I'm a big
- 55:40Speaker 1: fan of this Giants team. All right, here's a play
- 55:42Speaker 1: for the game. They're going to end up bringing nickel
- 55:44Speaker 1: pressure right here. All right. So I would love to
- 55:48Speaker 1: see him. And what I say him, I would love
- 55:51Speaker 1: to see, cause you have likely right there blocking. You
- 55:55Speaker 1: have 29 going there. You're going to have this deep
- 55:57Speaker 1: cross and you have, this post. So this is exactly
- 56:01Speaker 1: what you're doing. You want to read it high to low,
- 56:03Speaker 1: one to two. Pretty simple right there. Would love to
- 56:06Speaker 1: see him just sort of settle his feet a little bit, right?
- 56:09Speaker 1: Because you got Malik screaming wide open right there. Sort
- 56:12Speaker 1: of sit. I don't think this is a bootleg. I
- 56:14Speaker 1: think he just moves because he does feel pressure. Move, reset, feet, boom. Right?
- 56:20Speaker 1: That's the next sort of progression in his. This is
- 56:22Speaker 1: one play. It's play four in his first start. I
- 56:26Speaker 1: get it. You're like, Chase, let's just... Stack the completions.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I get it. But there are some other throws down
- 56:32Speaker 1: the field where he's making that I'm like, okay. And
- 56:35Speaker 1: this is just him settling it. So I just want to,
- 56:37Speaker 1: we're going to show the good. We're going to show
- 56:39Speaker 1: things he can get a little bit better at. But
- 56:41Speaker 1: you're just going to go right here. Likely he's going
- 56:42Speaker 1: to end up blocking and watch neighbors over here streak past.
- 56:46Speaker 1: So you get pressure right here. If you're the right tackle,
- 56:49Speaker 1: you got to understand, hey, they like bringing field pressure.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Don't get beat inside. When he's pressuring, you got to
- 56:56Speaker 1: go to this gap. You probably should know that. All right.
- 56:59Speaker 1: But if you're JJ, move there. Set. Set feet there.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Throw there. That's how he's getting coached. Hey, I'm like, okay,
- 57:08Speaker 1: we take it. You feel the red in your face.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Get up. That's how he's being coached though. And this
- 57:15Speaker 1: dude's an absolute freak in nature. So I totally get it.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Like probably the best pass rusher in the league. Really,
- 57:20Speaker 1: really good stuff. All right. Play eight of the game.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Two of our cut up. Texans in that deep red.
- 57:26Speaker 1: All right, looks like man to man. If it looks
- 57:29Speaker 1: like man, what's your plan? If it looks like man,
- 57:31Speaker 1: what's your plan? You know it's man. See the stacks.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Feel it out. Where can I go in this play
- 57:37Speaker 1: call to get a big play? Because big plays, man,
- 57:39Speaker 1: what do you know? Dime. And this is where these
- 57:45Speaker 1: two have gotten on the same page in Malik Neighbors.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I love this so many times. This is a play
- 57:50Speaker 1: that Matt Nagy has run back from his Chiefs days.
- 57:53Speaker 1: It's a wide route. It's a get open route. It's
- 57:57Speaker 1: a get open route. It means you can sit whatever
- 57:58Speaker 1: to likely. It's a hitch. And then, dude, you got one-on-one.
- 58:03Speaker 1: You got the safety right here. Boom, boom, inside fade.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Take this all day long. And I love that he
- 58:09Speaker 1: just didn't throw it aimlessly down the field. It was
- 58:11Speaker 1: hit his back foot. Step up into the pocket. Really
- 58:15Speaker 1: good arm angle, shoulder angle, everything about it. And you're
- 58:18Speaker 1: just going to get up there and you're going to
- 58:19Speaker 1: give this guy a chance to make a play. He
- 58:21Speaker 1: beats him right there, but look where he throws this football.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Back into the left so he can go up, elevate,
- 58:27Speaker 1: and get it. Malik stays on his feet when he
- 58:29Speaker 1: catches it. Excellent throw. This is the exciting stuff. So
- 58:34Speaker 1: play four, I showed you Malik was open. Hey, you
- 58:36Speaker 1: know what? Next play that we show, play eight, let's
- 58:40Speaker 1: take a shot. Watch his eyes. He's just seeing. He's
- 58:43Speaker 1: just making sure that this safety, you can barely see
- 58:45Speaker 1: his red shoes up there. He's making sure the safety
- 58:48Speaker 1: doesn't get all the way off the screen. which he does.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Then he sets his feet back, quick hitch, no leg
- 58:55Speaker 1: swing like he's been doing. But look where the ball
- 58:58Speaker 1: placement is. This is what I'm talking about. It's up
- 59:00Speaker 1: and to the right and up and to the left.
- 59:02Speaker 1: So he can get up, he can get up there
- 59:03Speaker 1: and throw it. And you can get up there and
- 59:06Speaker 1: make a play. Excellent. Let's watch this again. Watch his eyes. Right?
- 59:11Speaker 1: Eyes here. QB vision cone. Your eyes are down the
- 59:13Speaker 1: middle of the field because you do not want this
- 59:15Speaker 1: safety who's here to get off of it. When you
- 59:18Speaker 1: do that, see how quick that hitch is too? You
- 59:21Speaker 1: hit the back foot hitch, you know exactly where you're
- 59:23Speaker 1: going with the football and you're able to make it accurately.
- 59:26Speaker 1: There's no wondering what you're doing with the football. You're
- 59:28Speaker 1: doing it and then Perfectly thrown football. Malik Nabors is
- 59:31Speaker 1: balling the last four games. All right, next play right here.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I like this in a pistol formation. Strong left. This
- 59:39Speaker 1: is a strong tight ends in line. You got two receivers.
- 59:42Speaker 1: You got Scadamu behind him. I like this formation for them.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Bring him back a little bit of an old school.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Would love it even more if you were in shotgun.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Here's one that he wants back, right? He's got 81
- 59:54Speaker 1: streaking down the middle of the field. And he is open.
- 59:57Speaker 1: I like that he takes this. It's going to be
- 59:59Speaker 1: a 12 to 14 yard over route. And then a
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: dagger route there, 16 to 18. Good play action. You're going.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I don't like the mechanics here, though. And look, somebody's
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: in his face. I get that. No one's blocking 90.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: But I like that he's taking a shot. He's seeing
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: the alerts. This is just an alert. This is just
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a go ball and alert. You should be here to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: here to your back. That should be one. That should
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: be two. And he takes the alert. I like it.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I love it. I want some more of it. No
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: one blocks 90. No idea how. We're going to get
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: to the back view to show you exactly how it happened,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: mainly with JJ. So you go right there. Complete, complete disaster.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: This is not supposed to happen. You get play action
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: right there. There's no way you don't block a defender.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: See his leg sort of go through, though? That's the
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: one thing I worry about a little bit with him
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: is don't get into that. Look, I get it. You
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: got someone coming up here, so I'm being a little
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: bit rough. But don't do that. This could have been
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: a huge play. This has to be a mess. Look
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: at the right tackle. Like, wait, what are we doing?
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: No one's here? Like, come on. Got to fix it.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Play 22, getting the communication down, on the road, silent.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Are we not blocking anybody? His arm gets hit. I
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: get that. I'm not worried about his arm getting hit.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Watch how violent, though, his head is going when he's
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: throwing this. Watch. And his leg. Not great. Some on
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: his face, though. Next play. All right. Three by one formation.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: There's likely. Now we're getting empty. I like it. You
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: start both backs here. Boom, boom. Usually when they're in
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: this case, they chip flat, chip flat, which means you
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: got something down the field. What are you doing right here?
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: let's see it they're getting into quarters look using his
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: legs dude let's go this is great this is great
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: they end up bringing pressure how about this pressure they
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: bring will corner call it cow corner and will call
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: it the cow pressure you're hot i mean there's no
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: way you're you're sliding the right line you did not
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: we're not expecting that to happen Then they bring the nickel.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I mean, they're doing all sorts of things. And what
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: they're doing is they're running double posts and they're running
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: a deep cross. If you can have a quarterback when
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: you're a dead to rights to make you right, that's
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: how you know you got a good one. All right,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: through route right here, it's alert. Maybe versus cover four,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: you hit this post, but really you're right here to
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: the flat right here. Deep cross, 18 to 22 yards,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: go up. But how about the pocket movement? That's the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: story right here. How about the pocket movement? Understanding hitting
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: your back foot. Oh, man, there's a red jersey coming, Scott.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Can I make a miss? Yes, I can. Step up.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Not just run. Keep your eyes down on the football field.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Bring it here. Here. Cow pressure. Right? You know it's cow. Boom, boom.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Right here. You can't block everyone. Look at that. Good luck.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I mean, you're dead in the rights. Nice job right there,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: just sort of seeing right there. Oh, you're feeling it.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: You're stepping up, going there, keeping your eyes down the
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: football field and driving the football. This gets me fired up, dude. Excellent. Yeah,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: we're going to watch from this view, sure. You get
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: three views here. Blocked. Let the farthest guy away from
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: the field go. Farthest guy away from the snap go,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: which is the blitzer right there. Great play. Plus plus.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: All right, next play. Love him when he's under center.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: 12 personnel, two back, or sorry, one back, two tight
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: ends with Skadaboo. We didn't show the run game, which
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: I think the run game's even better. Now you're getting
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: to a slot formation with Isaiah Likely. Excuse me, this
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: is 13. 13 personnel. Love to see Malik Nabors in
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: right here. You get 13. Heavy play action. Oh, so good.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: They end up bringing pressure. Not so fast. They got
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: five man pressure. right watch what they do they're going
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to clear it out and then you're one-on-one with either
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: scataboo or the tight end excellent so you're going to
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: go through route post route get them into base coverage
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: so you have corner safety three four there's the linebackers
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: you're going to go and go there the oh shit
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: screen and you just literally read it one to two
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Great job faking. I like him under center. I want
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: to see him more under center. We're going to get
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: back there. Can maybe get your eyes there. If not,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: step up into the pocket. Right? There you go. Sort
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: of feather it in. Usually this is a little bit outside.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Sort of feather this one in, which I really like.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Excellent throw. Oh, if only he could score down just before.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: He's balling though. Two backs, two tight ends. Go there.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Great play call. And this is where you want it.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Like the 30, the shot time, and you're getting 13.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Smell shot. Look at that throw. Dime. Right to him.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: This one's wide open, but I like the fact that
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: you're calling these aggressive plays, Matt Nagy, and you're giving
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: our guy a chance to succeed. All right, next play.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Play six of the breakdown. Motion Isaiah Likely here. Is
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: it man? Is it zone? Let's figure it out. All right,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: it's man because we had a safety there. Come on.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: So many good things. This is such an easy route concept,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: but such an amazing throw. All right, here you go.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: You got an out route. You're going to go inside
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: to the out, a deeper corner called a circus route.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: You're going to bring a deep cross over there, 16
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: to 18, and you're going to bring a dagger. So
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: you're going to read it one to two to three
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: to four. And he's like, hey, you know what? I
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: can take this. underneath throw or I can take this
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: throw to Malik neighbors down the field because it's two
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: minute I'm trying to get us into field goal range
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: as he's thrown as he's fallen away the back view
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: this is so good trail technique very difficult to do
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: you can't throw this football any better you can't place
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: this presence down the chimney as we call it on
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: this channel see it from this view got double out
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: a deeper out in the corner feed Malik neighbors the
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: football why did they start Isaiah Likely out there because
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: now they have a safety on there so you know
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: it's man-to-man so in his mind he's saying hey it's
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: man-to-man can we protect yes we can they're doing this
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: crazy like stunt where these guys are mixed and he's
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: going across eventually they're going to get home it's just
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: really difficult to block left guard gets absolutely killed watch
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: this wow don't matter you got a guy in your
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: face red jersey in your face all you can see
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: is red you can't even see your guy trusting it
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: to the spot This is so dumb. Guys. Super impressive.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I mean, no notes whatsoever. We're going to see a
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: third view. He knows exactly where he's looking. He's looking
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: at neighbors the whole time. Sure, Isaiah likely is open.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I'm not taking that. Look what he starts to throw this. Boom.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: He's just trusting this guy to get to a spot.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: And that guy is special. Best throw of the day.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Third and four. What do you got? A lot of shifts.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: A lot of motions. Bring them back in. Here we go.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: Three by two. Now it's a one by three. Here
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: we go. What are we doing? Where's likely? Right there
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: in the slot. Looks like it. All right. Everything's set.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: What do we got here? Come on. Dude can't miss.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. It's called smash. Smash route. Corner. Flat. shallow
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: cross in route in route that's the play i can
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: show you it in a playbook read it low to
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: high one to two to three high low to four
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: to five i mean this is about as pure progression
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: as pure progression is going to get meaning you just
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: sweep the board go one to two to three to
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: four to five that's exactly what he does right as
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: soon as this corner gets he tries to say hey
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: you know what let me try to get this corner
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: to jump down on the flat route and then That's
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: where I want to hit. These are the X's are
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: where you want to hit and cover two. Hard to
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: do it. Tight pocket two. Guys, some of these throws.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I'm telling you. Can he continue to let it rip?
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: That's the thing that I want to know, which I
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: think he's playing with a lot of confidence right now.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: This is a beast of a defensive line, too. So
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: to do it on the road makes it even more impressive.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: He's alerting it or he's killing it. so he knows
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: exactly what he wants to get to alright here we
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: go 1, 2, 3 look at him just eyes in
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: it to get the corner out here you can't see
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: it to jump down on the flat route to then
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: throw can't really step into it and then This is
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: so silly. Ooh, and a heck of a catch, too.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Give some credit to the catch. 88's balling. See this view.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Look at him. Just look at just enough. Right? Just
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: enough on it. All right, here we go. Tight window.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I mean, you're barely... You can't even finish through. You
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: have to sort of short arm it a little bit
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: to get through. Boom. I mean... He's going to the
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: right spots, too. How about this, too? Love that, Jameis.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: First and 10. Back under center. Like it. Neighbors here.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Now we're motioning over. Two tight ends or two backs.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: One tight end. 21 personnel. Slot formation. Let's take a shot. Oh,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: this wasn't complete, but this is a dime. A couple
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: ways to do it. I like it. It's just cut
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: the field in half. Make it easy on them. Through route,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: and you got this deep circus route with someone in
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: the flat. You can try to high-low this corner again
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: for this corner route or this flat. I just like
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: how he moved a little bit here. Had some pressure.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: Got to move up here. And you lose your back.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: No flat. He's trying to throw this thing, man. That's impressive.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: I think this corner thinks it's going to be a
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: dig route because he's looking that way. That's a hard throw.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Would have been amazing. Helped his numbers. Got him over 300.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I like the pocket movement, though. That's why I picked
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: this play. Take neighbors there. Did Scadaboo go the wrong way? No,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I guess there's just no one. Oh yeah, because you're
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Molly in the center back out. Interesting. There's nothing holding
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: this corner. I don't like that. Just set your feet. Watch.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Almost like slingshotted it. 14, 14, third and 10. Biggest
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: point in the game. They end up winning in overtime.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: What are you going to do? You got to make
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: the right decision at the right time. Here we go. One, two, three, boom, throw.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Come on. It's just simple. It's just simple. Just play catch.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: I love it. It's like, hey, you're bringing 17 in,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: run them through. You got an under route. You got
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: these deeper circus routes or they're not deep. They're maybe
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: not circus. They're just like square outs, but they're a
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: little bit deeper so you can stop. Perfect. One, two, three, hitch.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Look at him. He's taking the out to the field, too.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Probably would have worked down here, but just shows, hey,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: they're blitzing. We've got to get this ball out. Excellent.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Third and long, too. Let me just play pitch and catch.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: They're bringing everyone. Muggin here. They're bringing this guy and
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: this guy. It's free safety. And Will, ah, Wolf. We've
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: had a cow and a wolf. If you're still watching
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: this video, thank you. Cow and wolf. In the comments,
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: let me know. Excellent throw, though. All right. Here you go. Boom. Boom. Right.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Handle and protection. Knowing you've got to get this football out. Ah.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Free runner. Never good. I don't know how he got
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: that off. All right, guys, thank you so much for
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: watching the breakdown. We really appreciate you. Make sure you
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: like and subscribe. You guys are making this channel and
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: these videos go absolutely ballistic. We love you and we
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: thank you. We'll see you next time.
