Speaker 4: And happy Friday, hey hey, Happy Friday. And happy Father's

Speaker 4: Day too, hey.
2:25
Speaker 10: Yeah, Happy Father's Day to all the fathers.
2:27
Speaker 8: Not to you necessarily, but happy Father's Day all day,
2:31
Speaker 8: all right. So I am proud to say that, for
2:34
Speaker 8: the first time in at least several weeks, I actually
2:37
Speaker 8: know what the name of the pet references this week,
2:41
Speaker 8: because you guys have gotten in and then, you know,
2:44
Speaker 8: from when Ryan Nicholson produces the show. I always have
2:47
Speaker 8: to ask him what does this name mean? Because you
2:49
Speaker 8: guys are all about this nineties video Harry Potter stuff,
2:52
Speaker 8: and I have no idea what you're talking about. I
2:54
Speaker 8: know I know what Danny California is, all right. That's
2:57
Speaker 8: a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
2:59
Speaker 10: I know that, Thank you because I picked that one out.
3:04
Speaker 8: I'm glad you know, yes, yes, and d For the
3:06
Speaker 8: first time in several weeks, Danny California is this week's
3:09
Speaker 8: adopt Me. Please put her the week A great looking dog.
3:11
Speaker 8: I've got the picture posted over on Dave Island Radio,
3:14
Speaker 8: on Facebook and at Dave A seventy one X.
3:17
Speaker 4: Tell us about Danny California.
3:20
Speaker 10: I would love to talk about Danny California at this point,
3:23
Speaker 10: She's probably my favorite shelter pet we have. She is
3:27
Speaker 10: the most gentle natured, sweet dog that I have come
3:30
Speaker 10: across working at the shelter. She's fade up to date
3:34
Speaker 10: on her vaccines. She's really good with kids. We actually
3:38
Speaker 10: went to Camp virgil Tate for a four age assembly
3:42
Speaker 10: to speak to you kids of all ages, and she
3:44
Speaker 10: was literally pulling me to go say hello to all
3:47
Speaker 10: these kids. She greeted all the kids with like wagging tail.
3:51
Speaker 10: She was given out kisses. So she's very sweet and
3:55
Speaker 10: extremely friendly with other dogs. The only setback Danny has
3:59
Speaker 10: is she does not like cat. But you know, it's
4:03
Speaker 10: totally possible to find a home out there that also
4:05
Speaker 10: does not like cats. But like I said, she is
4:09
Speaker 10: literally the perfect dog.
4:11
Speaker 4: What kind of dog is issue? Do we have any idea?
4:15
Speaker 10: I would say she's probably like a pity mix of sorts.
4:19
Speaker 10: I don't have documentation that says that, so I just
4:22
Speaker 10: go with a large mixed breed. But pity is probably
4:26
Speaker 10: in the lineage. She just has that head shape for it.
4:29
Speaker 8: I kind of saw that in the picture, Angie that
4:32
Speaker 8: you sent me last night. I thought there may be
4:33
Speaker 8: a little pit in this dog somewhere, which look. You know,
4:38
Speaker 8: and you know you deal with animals all the time,
4:41
Speaker 8: as that is your job. But people give pit bulls
4:45
Speaker 8: and other dogs a bad name. But I also know
4:49
Speaker 8: people that have had pure bread pit bulls and they'll
4:51
Speaker 8: tell you that they are some of the most loving, gentle,
4:54
Speaker 8: and sometimes timid dogs that there are out there.
4:57
Speaker 4: They're not there.
4:58
Speaker 8: It's not in their nature for most of these dogs
5:01
Speaker 8: to be aggressive. Normally people make them aggressive.
5:05
Speaker 10: Yeah, I would agree with that, And if you like,
5:08
Speaker 10: I've found that people either really love pit bulls and
5:10
Speaker 10: that's their favorite, or they do not like them at all,
5:13
Speaker 10: which is fine. Everyone has preferences. I'm not a big
5:16
Speaker 10: fan of chiuawas, but so if you are somebody that
5:20
Speaker 10: just doesn't really like pit bulls or haven't met the
5:23
Speaker 10: right one yet, please come to the shelter and meet Danny.
5:25
Speaker 10: I promise she will change your entire opinion on titties.
5:28
Speaker 4: And any idea on age, any idea.
5:32
Speaker 10: I would say, like around two three, that's kind of
5:35
Speaker 10: what I thought, puppy. But she's not old either.
5:38
Speaker 4: So about two or three and she is. She's already
5:42
Speaker 4: ready to go. She's fixed and faxed and ready to
5:44
Speaker 4: go right.
5:45
Speaker 10: Correct, as soon as you adopt her, she's ready to
5:47
Speaker 10: go home with you.
5:48
Speaker 9: All right.
5:49
Speaker 8: We'll get back to Danny, California a little bit later on.
5:51

6:08
Speaker 8: towards better health Today. We had a text about this,
6:10
Speaker 8: and I was going to get to this, but I
6:12
Speaker 8: do appreciate the texture for texting this. And you had
6:15
Speaker 8: a little incident with the dryer at the shelter.
6:18
Speaker 10: I understand we did yesterday when we all arrived at
6:23
Speaker 10: the shelter. We were like, it smells in here and
6:26
Speaker 10: not like it normally does different kind of smell, thinks,
6:29
Speaker 10: but not the normals tink, and so we were walking
6:33
Speaker 10: around and turns out the dryer was actually on fire.
6:36
Speaker 10: We were able to put the fire out ourselves, and
6:39
Speaker 10: then later on in the day we noticed that it
6:42
Speaker 10: was still smoldering, that they were embers in the dryer. So,
6:45
Speaker 10: of course, like we are all asked to leave the
6:48
Speaker 10: shelter as the fire department is checking the situation out.
6:52
Speaker 10: And we are super thankful for the Charleston Fire Department
6:54
Speaker 10: and anyone that responded to that that got our animals
6:58
Speaker 10: to safety, got us safety. But for the time being,
7:02
Speaker 10: we usually have two industrial dryers for our kennels. We're
7:06
Speaker 10: down to one right now, but we are super blessed
7:10
Speaker 10: and thankful because we have a lot of our volunteers
7:12
Speaker 10: coming and taking laundry into their personal homes to help
7:15
Speaker 10: us keep up with it. So everyone is safe, but
7:19
Speaker 10: we are working on getting a new dryer.
7:21
Speaker 4: Well, what can people do to help?
7:23
Speaker 8: I mean, are you accepting donations or I know I
7:27
Speaker 8: saw on your Facebook page that you were asking if
7:28
Speaker 8: anybody even had an old dryer that they would be
7:30
Speaker 8: willing to let you borrow until you can get yours
7:34
Speaker 8: fixed or get a new one or whatever.
7:36
Speaker 4: What can people do to help?
7:38
Speaker 10: So we actually have somebody that donated an old dryer,
7:42
Speaker 10: and we unfortunately oldly have room for one in the shelter.
7:45
Speaker 10: So we're super thankful for that that that problem has
7:48
Speaker 10: already been taken care of. And if you still have
7:50
Speaker 10: an old dryer, keep us on the line because who
7:53
Speaker 10: knows when that other one will go out. But in
7:57
Speaker 10: the meantime, if you want to donate in any type
8:00
Speaker 10: of lemons that are already washed so we can immediately
8:03
Speaker 10: start using them, that would be super helpful.
8:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a great idea if you.
8:08
Speaker 10: Want to, which I know it's a big ass because
8:10
Speaker 10: you know, our laundry is pretty dirty. If you want
8:13
Speaker 10: to grab a bag, take it home and bring it back,
8:15
Speaker 10: we'd also be thankful for that.
8:17
Speaker 8: Indeed, we're talking to Angie gill and Water from the
8:19
Speaker 8: Canal Charleston Humane Association about the little minor inconvenience that
8:23
Speaker 8: they had up there yesterday.
8:25
Speaker 4: I do understand.
8:26
Speaker 8: I saw where a group of volunteers are going to
8:30
Speaker 8: be having a yard sale, and we could talk about this,
8:32
Speaker 8: but it is going to be next Saturday, Next Saturday,
8:35
Speaker 8: one week from tomorrow, eight am till three pm, twelve
8:37
Speaker 8: forty eight Green Briar Street. So one good kind of
8:40
Speaker 8: put that on everybody's radar.
8:43
Speaker 10: Yes, so, our group of our dedicated volunteers have gathered
8:47
Speaker 10: supplies around the shelter, supplies from their homes, etc. They
8:53
Speaker 10: are having that yard sale. It's at the shelter, twelve
8:56
Speaker 10: forty eight Green Briar Street, and they would love a
8:59
Speaker 10: big turnout, Becau. They have been working so hard on
9:01
Speaker 10: this and all proceeds made from this yard tale go
9:06
Speaker 10: directly back to KHA, so is another plus and why
9:10
Speaker 10: you should stop by.
9:11
Speaker 8: And again that's next Saturday. We'll remind people about it
9:13
Speaker 8: next week on the show, But next Saturday at the
9:15
Speaker 8: shelter eight am up until three pm. Are you guys
9:19
Speaker 8: out at about anywhere this weekend?
9:21
Speaker 10: We are not because I will actually be on vacation
9:23
Speaker 10: this weekend. We are getting back into it next week.
9:26
Speaker 4: Well, are you going to be back for the segment
9:29
Speaker 4: next Friday?
9:30
Speaker 10: Yes, so for sure I wouldn't miss it.
9:33
Speaker 4: She said, tongue in cheek.
9:34
Speaker 8: All right, So we had a question here for you
9:38
Speaker 8: about pitts. And somebody said, it seems that the pities
9:41
Speaker 8: are the most common breed that the shelter gets in.
9:44
Speaker 4: Is that true and why they are so sweet? Says
9:47
Speaker 4: the texter.
9:49
Speaker 10: Yeah, so, at least for our shelter, it seems that
9:51
Speaker 10: we get a lot of pity mixes. But looking at
9:54
Speaker 10: shelters across the nation, like if you compare us to
9:57
Speaker 10: a shelter in Texas, the that you'll see in the
10:01
Speaker 10: shelters kind of vary. So I know, Texas is kind
10:03
Speaker 10: of jam packed with like husky shepherds things of that
10:07
Speaker 10: nature right now. But for us, definitely, it does seem
10:10
Speaker 10: that it's more so like the pity mixes and the
10:12
Speaker 10: West Virginia brown dogs. I wish I had an answer.
10:16
Speaker 10: I wish I had an answer for that. I would
10:18
Speaker 10: love to, you know, find the reason why we're seeing
10:22
Speaker 10: so many of this particular dog in our shelter. That
10:25
Speaker 10: way I can stop this particular dog having to spend
10:28
Speaker 10: so much time there. But I just I would think
10:31
Speaker 10: that it's people, you know, not staying and uttering their
10:34
Speaker 10: pets and then they end up just multiplying and there
10:37
Speaker 10: are too many of these pity breeds and pity mixes,
10:40
Speaker 10: and not enough homes for these city breeds and pity mixes.
10:44
Speaker 10: But that would be my guess. That's why we're seeing
10:46
Speaker 10: so many specifically in our area.
10:48
Speaker 8: All Right, hey, Angie, I appreciate you being here. Enjoy
10:52
Speaker 8: your short vacation. We'll talk again next Friday.
10:55
Speaker 9: Okay, alrighty sounds good, Angie, get on.
10:58
Speaker 4: Water can all Charlesty Main Association.
11:00
Speaker 8: Yeah, they had that dryer issue up there yesterday, So
11:02
Speaker 8: if you can help them out with that, even if
11:05
Speaker 8: you could just take in some some of their linens
11:07
Speaker 8: or you've got some fresh linens that you could donate,
11:10
Speaker 8: they certainly would appreciate it. And again that big yard
11:13
Speaker 8: sale that they're having at the shelter, that'll be next Saturday.
11:16
Speaker 4: We'll give you the details. We'll get a little closer.
11:18
Speaker 8: But again, this week's adopt me, please spend it the
11:20
Speaker 8: week Danny California. And again, I'm proud of myself because
11:23
Speaker 8: I actually knew this week what the name referenced. It
11:27
Speaker 8: saw him by the red hot chili peppers. So Danny
11:30
Speaker 8: California is our dog. A little bit of pity mixed
11:33
Speaker 8: in there. She said, about two years old, sweet girl already.
11:37
Speaker 8: She's already been spade, she's already been vaccinated. She is
11:40
Speaker 8: ready to go out the door. A very very sweet dog.
11:43
Speaker 8: Love people, love kids. Just no cats, all right, That's
11:46
Speaker 8: the only thing. Just no cats. If you want to

15:29
Speaker 13: About the levee? Why was this program not available in
15:32
Speaker 13: nineteen seventy eight? I went to West Virginia Western College
15:35
Speaker 13: and spent a kazillion million dollars. I could have won
15:38
Speaker 13: that thing, Dave, I could have won though. You know,
15:41
Speaker 13: I'm proud of that program. I love that you guys
15:43
Speaker 13: do that. I love Metro News for doing that. It's
15:45
Speaker 13: a wonderful partnership with my school at West Virginia Western College.
15:49
Speaker 13: Did you say fifteenth year for that. I think you said,
15:51
Speaker 13: think that's what I said. Yeah, that's wonderful. I love
15:53
Speaker 13: when I hear it every year, and I always go
15:55
Speaker 13: and vote. I always go and vote, Go vote Bellis.
15:57
Speaker 13: I mean, you're changing someone's trajectory of their entire life.
16:01
Speaker 8: And just to see, you know the expression, because the
16:03
Speaker 8: talk line guys will go up there and broadcast live
16:06
Speaker 8: and just to talk to.
16:07
Speaker 4: These young men and women that get get that full scholarship.
16:10
Speaker 13: You to get a great you're going to get a
16:13
Speaker 13: great liberal arts, You're going to get great education. And
16:16
Speaker 13: our president there right now James Moore is just I
16:19
Speaker 13: think he's crushing it. He's doing really well.
16:22
Speaker 3: I love him.
16:22
Speaker 13: You've talked to him, you interviewed him, We talked about
16:25
Speaker 13: him before. I think I was with him a couple
16:27
Speaker 13: of weeks ago. But now yes on to season twenty one,
16:30
Speaker 13: week number three of the Moses Art Group Live on
16:33
Speaker 13: the Levee. I think I circled this one when we
16:35
Speaker 13: announced that I love this. So first of all, at
16:38
Speaker 13: six o'clock. Please note the time, folks, six o'clock. I
16:41
Speaker 13: keep emphasizing the time this year because we're starting just
16:44
Speaker 13: a little earlier than six thirty. So at six o'clock
16:48
Speaker 13: for sixty minutes, taking center stage down at had that
16:51
Speaker 13: river front Park on the show and bomb stage. We
16:54
Speaker 13: all know him and love him. You can't get.
16:56
Speaker 3: Enough of them.
16:57
Speaker 13: The Esquires are back and they were formed in nineteen
17:00
Speaker 13: sixty four, but they're great cover, they're great dance, and
17:04
Speaker 13: they play all that amazing music, a lot of motown,
17:07
Speaker 13: a lot of music from the sixties. So if you're
17:10
Speaker 13: my age year older, you love that stuff, and young
17:12
Speaker 13: people still love It's timeless that that ear was timeless,
17:15
Speaker 13: absolutely timeless, and so the Esquires are playing. I can't
17:19
Speaker 13: wait to see those guys, and they do a great job.
17:22
Speaker 13: So yeah, put your dance and shoes on. You can't
17:24
Speaker 13: help yourself. It's really some feel good energy and some
17:27
Speaker 13: timeless tunes. As I mentioned, we take a little break.
17:30
Speaker 13: At seven o'clock, we get our T shirt tosses in
17:33
Speaker 13: thanks to.
17:33
Speaker 3: The East Coast Ts. You know East Coast T's right boy,
17:36
Speaker 3: Steve does these coasts.
17:37
Speaker 4: I'm familiar.
17:38
Speaker 13: He does the T shirts for us, brought to you
17:40
Speaker 13: by the City of Charleston Parks and Recreation. So we'll
17:42
Speaker 13: toss some T shirts up into the audience. We'll say
17:45
Speaker 13: I have a few announcements, talk about the charity, and
17:47
Speaker 13: then at seven point thirty, so excited to hear this band.
17:51
Speaker 13: They're called the Chicago Rewired. Of course, it's the premiere
17:55
Speaker 13: tribute band for one of America's greatest acts of all time.
18:00
Speaker 13: I'm Chicago, Chicago Dave.
18:02
Speaker 3: I looked it up.
18:03
Speaker 13: One hundred million records, so one one hundred million, twenty
18:08
Speaker 13: one top ten singles, five consecutive number one albums, eleven
18:12
Speaker 13: number one singles. I mean, we're going to know every song.
18:15
Speaker 13: You're going to know every song. Yeah, and there's like
18:17
Speaker 13: eight or nine members. They hail from the Charlotte, North
18:20
Speaker 13: Carolina area, but they'll have your trombones and trumpets and drums,
18:25
Speaker 13: and you know they sound good. It just close your
18:28
Speaker 13: eyes and there you are listening to Chicago again, just
18:31
Speaker 13: like it's nineteen seventy eight or eighty two. And I
18:34
Speaker 13: just think it's going to be a really neat night,
18:37
Speaker 13: the soundtrack to some great memories for many of us.
18:40
Speaker 13: So come down, it's been a difficult week, Get a
18:43
Speaker 13: bite to eat in the beverage of your choice. They're
18:46
Speaker 13: going to play for ninety minutes until nine o'clock. Then
18:49
Speaker 13: we'll do the fifty to fifty drawing, where we help
18:52
Speaker 13: those charities every Friday, the Great Fun for a great cause.
18:57
Speaker 13: We help our CCR, the Covenant House, Sojourners, Shelter, Manner,
19:00
Speaker 13: Meal and KVC Collective. We've raised one hundred and twenty
19:05
Speaker 13: five thousand dollars since we started doing this and it's
19:08
Speaker 13: just really neat.
19:09
Speaker 3: So support the fifty to fifty.
19:10
Speaker 13: Buy a fifty to fifty ticket or twenty or fifty,
19:13
Speaker 13: and then we'll do the drawing at nine o'clock and
19:16
Speaker 13: then we'll call it call it a night. But I
19:18
Speaker 13: think it's supposed to be pretty I think it's supposed
19:21
Speaker 13: to be in the eighties, about eighty eight at six
19:23
Speaker 13: and then dropped to about eighty or seventy nine by
19:26
Speaker 13: eight or nine o'clock that evening. I think the humidity
19:28
Speaker 13: is going to be low, and I think everything's lining
19:31
Speaker 13: up for us to have a pretty entertaining evening. Again,
19:36
Speaker 13: tough week, Come down, hug your friends, hug your neighbors,
19:40
Speaker 13: get a bite, and just kind of escape for a
19:43
Speaker 13: couple hours if you can.
19:45
Speaker 8: Nine twenty six for Day Onland showing five eighty line
19:47
Speaker 8: brought to you a part by Morgan and Morgan America's
19:49
Speaker 8: largest injury a law firm. And thing about Chicago is
19:52
Speaker 8: Jimbo in Chicago's really in a lot of people's eyes.
19:55
Speaker 8: Is basically two different groups, because in the nineteen late sixties,
19:59
Speaker 8: early seven, he's twenty five or six to four? Does
20:01
Speaker 8: anybody know what time it is? Beginnings and all that stuff.
20:05
Speaker 8: And then in when Peter Seta joined, they became almost
20:09
Speaker 8: a softer adult contemporary group with songs like You're the
20:13
Speaker 8: Inspiration and Stay the Night and several other hits that
20:18
Speaker 8: they had in the nineteen eighties. But I don't know
20:21
Speaker 8: what these folks do. But generally speaking, these type bands,
20:24
Speaker 8: they try to cover it all.
20:25
Speaker 13: They cover it all. And I mentioned some of the numbers.
20:29
Speaker 13: There's probably not going to be a song in ninety
20:31
Speaker 13: minutes that they play that you absolutely don't know. They
20:35
Speaker 13: so a little sidebar. My dad was a roadie. He
20:38
Speaker 13: hauled concerts for a living, all the big names. So
20:42
Speaker 13: he calls me ten twelve years ago, I can't remember,
20:45
Speaker 13: and he said, Jimmy, you want to come see me
20:47
Speaker 13: in Cincinnati. I said, Dad, I'd love to see you
20:49
Speaker 13: in Cincinnati. He said, he said, I'm hauling the Doobie
20:52
Speaker 13: Brothers in Chicago. And it was a little amphitheater in
20:55
Speaker 13: Cincinnati on the river over there, probably not as big
20:59
Speaker 13: as our levee, not as big as a hat at
21:01
Speaker 13: Riverfront Park, so it was quaint.
21:03
Speaker 3: Six to eight thousand people. I don't even think that
21:05
Speaker 3: was probably four or five thousand people.
21:07
Speaker 13: I go, yeah, Dad, I said, I Likedobie, I like
21:09
Speaker 13: the Doobie Brothers, and I like Chicago, but I'm coming
21:11
Speaker 13: to see you. So my wife and I go over there.
21:13
Speaker 13: My dad's a big deal, and I didn't know. He
21:16
Speaker 13: was the lead driver for all these concerts, so he
21:18
Speaker 13: knew all these musicians. He got me right on the
21:21
Speaker 13: front row, he got me backstage, introduced to me to
21:25
Speaker 13: all these Now, I'm not much of a music guy
21:28
Speaker 13: like you got like you are. I just like him,
21:30
Speaker 13: and I introduced them, and I think it's neat. I
21:32
Speaker 13: like the smiles that I see. I like the feel
21:34
Speaker 13: goodness of music. But sitting there with the Doobie Brothers
21:37
Speaker 13: and then Chicago came on, I mean those Chicago not
21:39
Speaker 13: I mean not that the Chicago Rewires is not going
21:41
Speaker 13: to be.
21:41
Speaker 3: Great, but it was Chicago.
21:42
Speaker 13: Yeah, absolutely, And it was one of the greatest nights
21:45
Speaker 13: of my life, just going backstage and being with my father,
21:48
Speaker 13: being with my bride, listening to some timeless tunes.
21:51
Speaker 3: It was. It was a good memory.
21:53
Speaker 13: I'll probably go back to that Cincinnati night a couple
21:57
Speaker 13: of times this evening listening to.
21:58
Speaker 4: Chicago Yeah and sin his Father's Day weekend.
22:01
Speaker 3: It is Father's Day weekend. Why way to put a
22:03
Speaker 3: bow on that?
22:03
Speaker 4: One's big, big, big shout out to all the dads
22:06
Speaker 4: out there.
22:07
Speaker 3: Absolutely, brother, how is the weather looking?
22:09
Speaker 4: Because you gotta you gotta mention I mean.
22:11
Speaker 3: It looks like the humidity is going to be low.
22:13
Speaker 3: It's going to be warm.
22:14
Speaker 4: I think I know there are expected to be some showers.
22:17
Speaker 4: It's going to be gone.
22:17
Speaker 13: That's why I think. That's why I think the humidity
22:19
Speaker 13: might drop. I think the shower might come in. There's
22:22
Speaker 13: whether people are saying, who are these weather people? You know,
22:25
Speaker 13: we know these weather people. I want to be a
22:26
Speaker 13: weather man when I grow up. But it doesn't matter
22:28
Speaker 13: what you say. Just say it with flamboyant s. No,
22:30
Speaker 13: I'm kidding all my weather guys. I love you guys.
22:32
Speaker 3: But I think.
22:32
Speaker 13: It's like eighty eight at six o'clock and then go
22:35
Speaker 13: down to like eighty one eighty seventy nine by the
22:38
Speaker 13: end of the evening. I don't think we're going to
22:40
Speaker 13: have rain during the show tonight. I really think it's
22:43
Speaker 13: going to be nice.
22:44
Speaker 4: I think you're right.
22:44
Speaker 13: I think the sun's coming out. We need we need
22:47
Speaker 13: a normal levee night.
22:48
Speaker 3: We haven't.
22:49
Speaker 13: You know, we had fun with the cycling, but it
22:50
Speaker 13: was modified schedule. I mean the monsoon last week, good
22:54
Speaker 13: call not to have that. It was cold and rainy.
22:56
Speaker 13: I was looking for flurries quite frankly, I was.
22:59
Speaker 4: I was that too.
23:00
Speaker 13: I was freezing and I'm going, boy, I'm glad we're
23:02
Speaker 13: not down there. So I think we're going to reschedule
23:04
Speaker 13: that one. By the way, Dave, that's what the city's saying.
23:06
Speaker 13: So that'll be that'll be nice if we can get
23:09
Speaker 13: that one in.
23:09
Speaker 16: Well.
23:09
Speaker 8: One of the great things I love about this town, Jim,
23:12
Speaker 8: is that is that you know the group uh that
23:14
Speaker 8: that was scheduled to play and of course they call.
23:16
Speaker 4: Oh that's right.
23:17
Speaker 8: They ended up over at five Street playing anyway impromptu concert.
23:22
Speaker 4: Yeah.
23:22
Speaker 13: I mean, people that went to that didn't make it over,
23:24
Speaker 13: but they said that was phenomena.
23:26
Speaker 4: That was that night.
23:27
Speaker 8: I'm just sitting sitting on the like of scrolling social
23:29
Speaker 8: media and I see pictures that they're over at five Street.
23:32
Speaker 4: And yeah, the show.
23:34
Speaker 3: It just came back to me the Nobs Brass band.
23:36
Speaker 4: Yes, no, I mean, and I guess they figured, well,
23:39
Speaker 4: we're already in town.
23:41
Speaker 13: Where's your closest brewery where people will have fun listening
23:43
Speaker 13: to us?
23:43
Speaker 4: Yeah?
23:44
Speaker 13: That that is a we are. We are a great town.
23:46
Speaker 13: I appreciate this town. I love you guys. Come down
23:48
Speaker 13: see me tonight, Come down and enjoy yourself. And have
23:51
Speaker 13: a great time down at hat Ederver Front Park. Tonight
23:54
Speaker 13: music at six with the Esquires, music at seven thirty
23:57
Speaker 13: with Chicago Reward.
23:58
Speaker 3: We'll see you downtown.
24:00
Speaker 8: Before we let you go. And of course you were
24:02
Speaker 8: one of the ones who took part in the show
24:04
Speaker 8: the other day. You can do this, Jim. You're and
24:06
Speaker 8: I appreciate you and everybody.
24:08
Speaker 3: I'm better now than I was Wednesday.
24:10
Speaker 8: I have never seen you, know, You're this big ball
24:13
Speaker 8: of energy and always positive. I mean I always said
24:15
Speaker 8: if it was raining hammers, you'd be out there going. Well,
24:18
Speaker 8: at least it's not sledgehammers, right.
24:21
Speaker 4: But you you know, you were obviously you.
24:24
Speaker 8: And when I had you in here with the Mayor
24:25
Speaker 8: and I had all these people, everybody was visibly upset
24:29
Speaker 8: about the loss of dugscar.
24:30
Speaker 13: Let me start with, I didn't know what I was
24:32
Speaker 13: going to do. The morning after I late, I thought, well,
24:35
Speaker 13: do I need to get out of bed? And then
24:39
Speaker 13: after that ten or fifteen minutes, I thought, I absolutely
24:43
Speaker 13: need to get out of bed. I absolutely need to
24:46
Speaker 13: stay strong for one of my best friends. And then
24:49
Speaker 13: you texted me, but I was already thinking I might
24:53
Speaker 13: go in. So I heard you were going to do that,
24:56
Speaker 13: and so I just might stop by, and then you
24:57
Speaker 13: texted me, so then I'm thinking, all right, I'm gonna
25:01
Speaker 13: go do this. And I walked in this studio and
25:04
Speaker 13: when Hollis was sitting here and the mayor, and I
25:06
Speaker 13: didn't expect to see I don't know who what I expected.
25:10
Speaker 3: I cracked. You saw me cracked.
25:13
Speaker 13: And I went over into the corner of the studio
25:16
Speaker 13: here like I was wearing a Duncet cap, and I
25:19
Speaker 13: turned my face to the corner, did I not? And
25:22
Speaker 13: I mean, no one cries pretty, so I'm a pretty boy.
25:28
Speaker 13: And I wasn't about to let people. It was hard, Dave,
25:31
Speaker 13: and I sat down beside you, and I listened to
25:34
Speaker 13: the mayor and I didn't look over at them, and
25:37
Speaker 13: I hardly looked at you, Like I'm an eye contact guy.
25:39
Speaker 13: I couldn't look at people. The numbness has worn has
25:43
Speaker 13: worn off. I hope people could understand my message Wednesday morning,
25:47
Speaker 13: because I know it was cracking a lot. I did
25:51
Speaker 13: a few more interviews that day, and the more I
25:53
Speaker 13: do discuss it, the more therapeutic it is for me,
25:57
Speaker 13: and the stronger I get. My message is I'm staying strong,
26:02
Speaker 13: and I encourage all of us to stay strong. I
26:05
Speaker 13: encourage all of us to see what brother Doud was
26:08
Speaker 13: and did, and I encourage us to do an h
26:13
Speaker 13: of the good that he did. Remember that infectious smile,
26:18
Speaker 13: Remember that charisma. Remember his ability to make our place better.
26:25
Speaker 13: Remember his way to unify us. Remember what a great
26:31
Speaker 13: father he was and a brother and a friend and
26:33
Speaker 13: a son and am Remember what he did, Remember how
26:38
Speaker 13: he did it. Remember all the good that he did,
26:41
Speaker 13: and stay strong. And we need to honor his legacy
26:46
Speaker 13: by doing more good. We need to be, you know,
26:50
Speaker 13: more more more like him. And the fact that he
26:53
Speaker 13: did so many things. Dave, I didn't say this on
26:56
Speaker 13: a Wednesday, and maybe I did. Quite frankly, I don't
26:57
Speaker 13: remember what I said. I didn't remember talking to you.
27:00
Speaker 13: I said, hey, I'm coming in this morning.
27:02
Speaker 1: You go.
27:02
Speaker 3: I know we talked about it ago we did.
27:03
Speaker 4: Yeah, we did.
27:04
Speaker 13: And You're like, you gave me the out. You're like, Jimmy,
27:06
Speaker 13: we're not thinking, well, this.
27:07
Speaker 4: What he is the last couple of days.
27:09
Speaker 13: So but he just he just grind it and made
27:12
Speaker 13: sausage behind the scenes that no one saw, with no
27:16
Speaker 13: cameras and no microphones around, and he worked just endlessly
27:20
Speaker 13: and tirelessly, seemingly nineteen twenty twenty one hours a day
27:24
Speaker 13: and took a cat nap at night. So just let's
27:29
Speaker 13: just let's just remember him and do more good to
27:33
Speaker 13: honor his legacy. And I'm going to lift him up
27:37
Speaker 13: as long as I'm alive.
27:39
Speaker 3: I'm want to lift him up.
27:40
Speaker 8: I do want to mention and you provided us with
27:42
Speaker 8: some information because a lot of people have been asking
27:44
Speaker 8: about it. Visitation for Doug Scamp will be on Monday
27:48
Speaker 8: at the State Culture Center from four until eight pm.
27:52
Speaker 8: I'll be honest with you, and you and I were talking,
27:54
Speaker 8: You're going to break there. I don't think the Culture
27:56
Speaker 8: Center is big enough to be however, however, did it
27:59
Speaker 8: how because I said it to be at the Collis
28:00
Speaker 8: Sam But but but I do think and I really
28:03
Speaker 8: hadn't thought about this. I mean, where else would you
28:05
Speaker 8: have a bon culture set under the dome or or
28:07
Speaker 8: at least across from the dome where he spent so much.
28:10
Speaker 13: You're looking the dome is looking down exactly. That's it's appropriate,
28:14
Speaker 13: at the family and at him.
28:15
Speaker 8: Yes, And and that's that's the public visitation. There'll be
28:18
Speaker 8: some private things for family members later, but four until
28:21
Speaker 8: eight that will be the visitation for Doug scaff at
28:23
Speaker 8: the State Culture Center on Monday. Hey, we had a
28:26
Speaker 8: text here about video coverage of the concerts alive in
28:29
Speaker 8: the level.
28:29
Speaker 4: We don't, I don't.
28:31
Speaker 3: We haven't done that. Yeah, we have not.
28:33
Speaker 4: Well, you certainly can't put it online. We know that
28:35
Speaker 4: because there's a copyright issues.
28:37
Speaker 3: Is that that is a real thing.
28:38
Speaker 13: Occasionally what we do and we haven't, we haven't videotaped it.
28:42
Speaker 3: Occasionally.
28:42
Speaker 13: What we do we put a screen in the back
28:45
Speaker 13: of the stage and I love that. We kind of
28:46
Speaker 13: reverse project the concert that's on the stage for the voters. Yeah,
28:50
Speaker 13: that's kind of neat. But we don't have we never
28:52
Speaker 13: record or never have a stream.
28:54
Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, and that's and and I can tell

29:32
Speaker 4: And I'll tell you a quick story.
29:33
Speaker 8: I was working at another radio station and we did
29:35
Speaker 8: we recorded something for social media, and it was like
29:39
Speaker 8: it was like when there's thirty seconds left in the song,
29:42
Speaker 8: and so the song was starting to fade down and
29:44
Speaker 8: we hit record and we got We got the X
29:49
Speaker 8: you know from from Facebook.
29:51
Speaker 4: Got the system because we had the last.
29:53
Speaker 8: Thirty seconds of a song before we went into like

32:45
Speaker 8: You had a text for Angie at the Humane Association
32:49
Speaker 8: earlier and it was after we'd already hung up, but
32:51
Speaker 8: they were asking if the shelter was taking in any animals.
32:55
Speaker 8: So I sent a text to Angie and here is
32:56
Speaker 8: her response. They're trying to stick to sick and injured.
33:00
Speaker 8: Only if you have a stray, they can bring it
33:03
Speaker 8: in and we can evaluate the situation. Can't promise we'll
33:06
Speaker 8: take it right then, but there, but then we'll try
33:08
Speaker 8: to work out something. They have supplies they can give
33:11
Speaker 8: and also rescues to try if they're able to take it.
33:14
Speaker 8: So that is the answer from Angie at the KNA
33:17
Speaker 8: Charleston Remaine Association. Texter said, would the performers be legally
33:21
Speaker 8: allowed to live stream since it's a free show that
33:24
Speaker 8: has nothing to do with it, and we're talking about
33:26
Speaker 8: somebody had asked if they could live stream live on
33:28
Speaker 8: the levee and answers no, it all you got to
33:31
Speaker 8: have permission from the songwriters and a lot of times
33:34
Speaker 8: and when we have the groups that come to live
33:36
Speaker 8: in the levee, although they're fantastic, they're normally not the
33:38
Speaker 8: ones that wrote the song. So without we used to say,
33:41
Speaker 8: without express written consent of Major League Baseball, but without
33:44
Speaker 8: express written consent from the holders, the writers of the
33:47

Speaker 8: Doctor Craig Glover Family Family Care Health Centers joins us
33:55
Speaker 8: to talk about their Big Kids Basht's coming up. Welcome
33:57
Speaker 8: to the show, sir, thanks for being here, Thanks for
33:59
Speaker 8: having me. So this is what the third I believe.
34:02
Speaker 5: This is our fourth an event.
34:04
Speaker 4: Yes, okay, all right, So what goes on with these
34:06
Speaker 4: kids bashes?
34:07
Speaker 5: Well, it's an opportunity for the community to come out
34:09
Speaker 5: so we can educate and engage them about making healthy choices,
34:14
Speaker 5: healthy lifestyle choices. We have a big, family friendly, free
34:19
Speaker 5: event for people to come out, Lots of activities for
34:22
Speaker 5: the kids, bouncy houses, face painting, carnival games, lots of
34:27
Speaker 5: vendors there so people can find out different things of
34:29
Speaker 5: how to.
34:30
Speaker 4: Take care of their health and when and where.
34:32
Speaker 5: It is This coming Saturday Tomorrow, June fourteenth, from eleven
34:38
Speaker 5: am until three pm at our Patrick Street location on
34:41
Speaker 5: the West Side. Most people know it best because it's
34:43
Speaker 5: next door to big Lots.
34:45
Speaker 4: Okay, and so how many kids you normally get at
34:48
Speaker 4: these things? Do you ever put a ballpark? Figure in?
34:50
Speaker 5: Last year we had about fifteen hundred people come out
34:54
Speaker 5: to celebrate with us.
34:56
Speaker 4: And what kind of education do you do there for parents?
34:58
Speaker 8: I know it's about fun, but you know, you got
35:00
Speaker 8: them all there, you may as well try to teach
35:01
Speaker 8: them something, right.
35:02
Speaker 5: Yeah, it's about making positive health choices, how to take
35:08
Speaker 5: care of yourself. We have motivational speakers that'll be there,
35:13
Speaker 5: lots of different things. We really just want to make
35:15
Speaker 5: sure that we're educating people about how to be healthy
35:20
Speaker 5: in a fun and engaging way. We want kids to
35:22
Speaker 5: associate health care with fun and that's a.
35:26
Speaker 4: Very important part of it.
35:27
Speaker 8: Because you know, automatically when you're a kid and you know,
35:30
Speaker 8: I used to be a kid, believe it or not,
35:31
Speaker 8: and you think about things like that, you think you
35:34
Speaker 8: associate going to the doctor, medical care whatever, with a
35:37
Speaker 8: shot or with bad times or with pain or whatever,
35:40
Speaker 8: and it's not always that.
35:42
Speaker 5: It's not always that My kids do that when they
35:44
Speaker 5: hear they have to go to the doctor. That's hues
35:46
Speaker 5: the first question, do I have to get a shot?
35:47
Speaker 5: It's not always having to get a shot. It can
35:50
Speaker 5: be a very positive interaction and you learn information about
35:54
Speaker 5: how to take care of yourself, how to stay healthy,
35:57
Speaker 5: how to live a long healthy life.
35:59

36:13
Speaker 8: this thing off tomorrow, Doctor right.
36:15
Speaker 9: It does.
36:15
Speaker 5: We have a lot of our staff, we have a
36:17
Speaker 5: lot of volunteers that are coming out to help us.
36:19
Speaker 5: It's a really big event.
36:21
Speaker 8: And it seems, as you said, this is the fourth
36:24
Speaker 8: annual event, it seems like he gets bigger and better
36:26
Speaker 8: every year. I have to ask this because I asked
36:28
Speaker 8: Jim Strawn early about Live on the Levey. Do we
36:30
Speaker 8: have a plan if there may be a shower or
36:32
Speaker 8: two tomorrow?
36:33
Speaker 5: Well, first of all, we're hoping that there is not
36:36
Speaker 5: a shower doing our event, but if it is, watch
36:39
Speaker 5: our Facebook page and we'll post information there if we
36:42
Speaker 5: have to reschedule.
36:42
Speaker 8: Okay, And for those who don't know the concept of
36:47
Speaker 8: and I've had people on the show before about with
36:49
Speaker 8: Family Care, explain the whole concept of this organization.
36:52
Speaker 4: Sure.
36:53
Speaker 5: So, our primary goal is to make sure that healthcare
36:56
Speaker 5: is accessible to everyone, regardless of social economic status. So
37:00
Speaker 5: we don't let a lack of financial resources be a
37:03
Speaker 5: barrier to healthcare. We provide lots of different services from pediatrics,
37:08
Speaker 5: adult care, behavior health, dentistry, vision services, lots and if
37:16
Speaker 5: there's a service that you need that we can't provide,
37:18
Speaker 5: we have relationships that we can get you there, Like
37:20
Speaker 5: if you need to see a specialist, we can make
37:22
Speaker 5: those referrals for you. Our goal is if you need
37:25
Speaker 5: health services, come and see us and we will figure
37:28
Speaker 5: out how to work with you to get.
37:30
Speaker 8: That and talk again about some of the services that
37:32
Speaker 8: you're able to offer two different places.
37:34
Speaker 5: Yeah, So, as I mentioned in our office, we do pediatric,
37:38
Speaker 5: we do adult medicine, geriatric care, behavior health, psychiatry, dentistry, vision.
37:45
Speaker 5: We have relationships with most of the specialties. So if
37:49
Speaker 5: you need to see the cardiologists or rheumatologists or whatever,
37:52
Speaker 5: we can get you to those folks.
37:54
Speaker 4: And I'm sure there tomorrow. As you said, you have
37:56
Speaker 4: a lot of information.
37:57
Speaker 5: Absolutely well, we'll have information about all of our services
38:01
Speaker 5: that we provide. The other thing I'll mentioned is we
38:03
Speaker 5: do have a birth center. We have the only freestanding
38:06
Speaker 5: birth center in the state of West Virginia where women
38:08
Speaker 5: can come into our location to give birth as an
38:12
Speaker 5: alternative to an hospital setting. That's really the root of
38:15
Speaker 5: our organization. That's how we started thirty six years ago,
38:18
Speaker 5: and we continue to offer that service.
38:20
Speaker 4: Talk about the kids.
38:23
Speaker 8: You've been doing this for four years now when you
38:25
Speaker 8: see the kids come in, About the expression on their faces.
38:27
Speaker 8: They're there for the fun automatically, But just talk about
38:33
Speaker 8: the kids.
38:34
Speaker 5: Yeah, the kids come out and they have a great time.
38:36
Speaker 5: And as we talked about before. It's a way for
38:39
Speaker 5: them to engage in healthcare services and not be in
38:43
Speaker 5: a stressful situation. We can have conversations about making healthy
38:47
Speaker 5: food choices, maybe having water over sugary drinks and some
38:52
Speaker 5: of the benefits of doing that, and we can do
38:55
Speaker 5: that in a way that's not stressing them out and
38:57
Speaker 5: they're not worried that somebody is going to give them
38:59
Speaker 5: a shot. And also I mentioned for the kids who
39:02
Speaker 5: are school age that may be involved in sports, we
39:04
Speaker 5: will be offering free sports physical at our event on
39:07
Speaker 5: Saturday as well.
39:08
Speaker 8: That's very important because I know the kids just got
39:10
Speaker 8: out of school, but a lot of you you got
39:12
Speaker 8: to think ahead.
39:12
Speaker 5: That's preparing for upcoming season.
39:15
Speaker 8: Yeah, we had a text here speaking to the shots that
39:17
Speaker 8: says Dave, when I was a kid, I loved my doctor,
39:19
Speaker 8: but couldn't stand his nurse. He never gave me the shots.
39:22
Speaker 8: He made his nurse do it. So the doctor goes
39:25
Speaker 8: away as the as the as the good guy, right,
39:27
Speaker 8: the nurses the bad person.
39:28
Speaker 5: Sometimes that had And if that works, if that's how
39:30
Speaker 5: we have to do it to make sure we keep
39:32
Speaker 5: our kids healthy, then we'll we'll do.
39:34

Speaker 8: but I guess I just wasn't prepared for how much
43:28
Speaker 8: power sports equipment you actually have there.
43:30
Speaker 20: We have a lot in stock. I mean, you know,
43:32
Speaker 20: we carry right now about four brands. We've got another
43:36
Speaker 20: one that just arrived this week. Maybe it's we have
43:40
Speaker 20: over sixty about sixty seventy items sitting there right now,
43:45
Speaker 20: most of us built showroom or sitting out front.
43:48
Speaker 8: And it's it's not necessarily names. I mean, it is
43:53
Speaker 8: names that people don't earn of, but but there's something
43:55
Speaker 8: that may be a little bit unique.
43:56
Speaker 4: To this area.
43:57
Speaker 9: That way, Yeah, there's some unique names.
43:59
Speaker 20: I mean, roll Infield right now is the one of
44:01
Speaker 20: the larger items that we have in stock, and a
44:04
Speaker 20: lot of people will know them from their days when
44:06
Speaker 20: they were mixed with Triumph. But they are the country's
44:09
Speaker 20: oldest motorcycle well the world's oldest motorcycle dealer, being nineteen
44:14
Speaker 20: oh one.
44:15
Speaker 9: But you know, Segue is another one.
44:17
Speaker 20: You think of the mall cop Paul Bart and all that,
44:20
Speaker 20: and they make one heck of a side by side.
44:23
Speaker 20: You know, I would ask people to get out there
44:24
Speaker 20: look at them and what you get for the money.
44:29
Speaker 9: That's that's where it really kicks in.
44:31
Speaker 8: And it's amazing to me as somebody who grew up
44:35
Speaker 8: in the nineteen seventies when everybody had many bikes and
44:38
Speaker 8: things like that, and then we saw the three wheelers
44:41
Speaker 8: you know that came out and then which they totally
44:43
Speaker 8: did away with I guess for the most part, at
44:44
Speaker 8: least the kind I grew up with, and then the
44:46
Speaker 8: four wheeler. These things are are practically like cadillacs. I
44:50
Speaker 8: mean what's out there now as far as side by
44:53
Speaker 8: sides and.
44:53
Speaker 4: Things like that.
44:53
Speaker 20: Oh, you can get them with heaters, air conditioner, you know,
44:56
Speaker 20: they can become yournswer right, yeah, as a glamp. Yes,
45:01
Speaker 20: now that's the same side on the side by side world. Yeah,
45:06
Speaker 20: you know the three wheelers with the Honda three wheeler
45:09
Speaker 20: that nearly killed everybody while they wrote it. I grew
45:12
Speaker 20: up on that. But we have Suzuki coming. So you
45:16
Speaker 20: were talking about the brands we carried, name brands and stuff.
45:19
Speaker 20: I mean, we have Suzuki, so that is the big
45:22
Speaker 20: name brand. But even in a world Italian bike in Benelli,
45:27
Speaker 20: you know, and they have these little pit bikes of
45:30
Speaker 20: TNTs and they're super fun to get on scooters. We've
45:34
Speaker 20: got all kinds of stuff over there right now.
45:35
Speaker 4: And tomorrow you're having an open house.
45:37
Speaker 20: We are, so tomorrow boat Bikes will be open, but
45:39
Speaker 20: it's going to be a limited menu because we're giving
45:42
Speaker 20: away hot dogs, food things of that nature. But we
45:45
Speaker 20: do have an open house, so, I mean, we've got
45:47
Speaker 20: a lot of great specials going on for zero percent
45:50
Speaker 20: financing or you can get three thousand dollars off of
45:53
Speaker 20: several items in the store.
45:55
Speaker 9: We're doing giveaways, door prizes.
45:59
Speaker 20: Just it's going to be a hopefully a happening place
46:02
Speaker 20: tomorrow because we've we've gotten all this stuff in stock
46:05
Speaker 20: for our spring open house and hoping to see a
46:07
Speaker 20: lot of people out.
46:09
Speaker 4: What was it that made you guys go into that.
46:12
Speaker 8: You explained it last time you were on the show,
46:13
Speaker 8: But what was it that made you guys decide to
46:15
Speaker 8: you know, we're going to try this this power sports thing.
46:18
Speaker 9: Well, it's really just the state of the economy.
46:21
Speaker 1: Uh.
46:22
Speaker 9: You know, we were the.
46:23
Speaker 20: State's second largest boat dealer for many years, but you know,
46:28
Speaker 20: we go from selling eighty ninety boats a year to
46:31
Speaker 20: thirty just because boat pricing has gotten so really really
46:37
Speaker 20: out of control.
46:38
Speaker 4: That's and that's no fault of you. No more other
46:41
Speaker 4: dealers like you. That's not.
46:42
Speaker 9: That's not We're all falling through it. Everybody's going through it.
46:45
Speaker 20: And until the boating world takes a big reset and
46:48
Speaker 20: starts coming back out with newer, more affordable models, it's
46:53
Speaker 20: made it really hard on us.
46:54
Speaker 9: So we we did.
46:55
Speaker 20: We more or less had to pivot and we kind
46:57
Speaker 20: of looked at who were the brand out there that's
47:00
Speaker 20: not in the area, who's value driven because rural endfield
47:04
Speaker 20: there's like I said, we have sixty bikes in stock,
47:08
Speaker 20: and there's not one of them over eight thousand dollars.
47:10
Speaker 20: We have our Bonelli group, they have their brand new
47:14
Speaker 20: seven O two's, So the seven hundred c C bike,
47:17
Speaker 20: it's the first, you know, it's the first one that's
47:19
Speaker 20: over eight thousand in our showroom. So these are very
47:23
Speaker 20: value driven products and that's what we were hoping to
47:26
Speaker 20: bring to the valley.
47:28
Speaker 4: It's it's a it's a great, great business model. You
47:31
Speaker 4: got over there.
47:31
Speaker 8: As I said, I stopped by when the Mountain was
47:33
Speaker 8: when Steve was over there doing the live broadcast in
47:35
Speaker 8: Shockley and hung out for a little bit. Mainly that
47:37
Speaker 8: day I was helping him hold onto the tents because
47:40
Speaker 8: it was.
47:40
Speaker 9: Extremely it was extremely windy.
47:42
Speaker 4: At one point.
47:43
Speaker 8: It was interesting because you know, we couldn't even it
47:46
Speaker 8: was so windy on that day, we couldn't even take
47:48
Speaker 8: the tents down. So you got myself and you got
47:51
Speaker 8: Sean Sales from Sales Weasel, Sean, Yes, and you got
47:55
Speaker 8: Animal and Shockley and myself like that new Ford I body, Yes,
48:00
Speaker 8: love show's new truck that I that I helped pay for.
48:02
Speaker 4: But that's a that's another story.
48:03
Speaker 8: But we're all we're all holding on that. It was like, well,
48:06
Speaker 8: let's take it down the tent. We can't because it
48:09
Speaker 8: was going And of course, uh, Heather, your wife is
48:12
Speaker 8: there just making fun of us.
48:13
Speaker 4: She was, So that's well.
48:14
Speaker 20: I think Steve went through three drinks because the wind
48:17
Speaker 20: kept blowing the drinks off the table and they were
48:19
Speaker 20: not alcoholic.
48:21
Speaker 4: If you know Steve Animal, that's that's a rare of himself.
48:24
Speaker 20: He'd got a dui in the parking lot just because
48:26
Speaker 20: he was so sloppy that they were Dike cokes, but
48:29
Speaker 20: they were all Dikes. But yeah, and it was like,
48:31
Speaker 20: when are you gonna hold onto this Dick Coke because
48:32
Speaker 20: there's the third one on the ground.
48:34
Speaker 8: And uh again that your boat Bite truck is going
48:37
Speaker 8: to be there tomorrow. I know you had a limited
48:38
Speaker 8: menu on that.
48:39
Speaker 20: Yeah, but it is there today. She'll be open again today.
48:42
Speaker 13: Uh.
48:42
Speaker 4: And the food is fantastic.
48:44
Speaker 20: She had a lot of people stop off the street
48:45
Speaker 20: yesterday that had never been there. Yeah, and she gets
48:49
Speaker 20: she gets a lot of good reviews and she just
48:50
Speaker 20: recently signed up she's going to be in the Pepperoni
48:53
Speaker 20: contest Pepperoni ball contests.
48:55
Speaker 4: So all right, good stuff there, all right.
48:57
Speaker 8: So and I will mention our one of our another
48:59
Speaker 8: one of her station's ninety six to one KWS is
49:01
Speaker 8: gonna be broadcasting live. Rob Reel will be there tomorrow.
49:05
Speaker 8: I think he's there from noon to two and he'll
49:08
Speaker 8: have some giveaways. But your open house hours again are.
49:10
Speaker 20: We it's going to be protect pretty much our whole day.
49:14
Speaker 20: But it's I mean the nine to five, I mean
49:17
Speaker 20: we're and if I have to stay late, I will.
49:19
Speaker 20: I was there atill eight thirty last Saturday, So whatever
49:21
Speaker 20: it takes, whatever it takes.
49:22
Speaker 4: All right, Sean, looking forward to seeing you there tomorrow. Man,
49:24
Speaker 4: We'll let you go all right, thanks buddy.
49:26

49:29

49:36

49:48
Speaker 8: Governors meeting. The legendary Willie Akers will be on the
49:51
Speaker 8: show with us today. Yesterday, of course, the anniversary of
49:54
Speaker 8: the death of the great Jerry West, best friends and
49:56
Speaker 8: teammate of Willie Well, he's going to weigh in on that.
49:59
Speaker 8: Plus what does you think about the whole governor's license
50:01
Speaker 8: plate issue. We're going to talk to Willie about that.
50:03
Speaker 8: Willie was one that had his pull but then had
50:05
Speaker 8: it restored. Emmitt Pepper's here from Energy Efficient West Virginia.
50:09
Speaker 8: On the show today, we'll talk a little bit about
50:11
Speaker 8: the North South All Star Games going on in the
50:15
Speaker 8: area this weekend, and of course it being Friday, will
50:17
Speaker 8: spotlight another great eating establishment from the Mountain State. And
50:21
Speaker 8: at two thirty. It's open line West Virginia and that's
50:25
Speaker 8: all coming up. A Metro News Midday powered by Selango
50:27
Speaker 8: Law with thirteen News and Tonight Live anchor Amanda Barrett
50:29
Speaker 8: and myself coming up today starting at noon on this
50:33
Speaker 8: show on Monday, we're going to be talking about Juneteenth
50:37
Speaker 8: a little bit with Ray Whiting and the folks from
50:38
Speaker 8: ZMM Architects will be stopping by the show as well. Texas,
50:41
Speaker 8: I keep waiting for an adult big wheel like we
50:44
Speaker 8: had in the nineteen seventies. I think those have actually
50:47
Speaker 8: been manufactured. I think they have been on the Juneteenth
50:53
Speaker 8: THINGK Texas to your Dave, Governor Borisse cutting Juneteenth. I
50:57
Speaker 8: had this one early sticking to the boot liquor score ripped.
51:00
Speaker 4: That's a text, that's a texture saying that not meet.
51:02
Speaker 3: TJ.
51:02
Speaker 4: Meadows is here. How you doing, man good? How are you?
51:05
Speaker 8: A news came down yesterday during the show and we
51:09
Speaker 8: gave it out to the people that Juneteenth is a
51:12
Speaker 8: federal holiday. However, Governor Morrissey, making the announcement yesterday, state
51:16
Speaker 8: employees would not get the day off. They do get
51:18
Speaker 8: West Virginia day off on Friday of next week and
51:21
Speaker 8: his rationale was is that state workers and taxpayers should
51:26
Speaker 8: not be on the hook for two straight days off.
51:29
Speaker 9: Okay, here we fix this for you.
51:31
Speaker 4: Fix it for ten seconds. Now, I'll give you I'll
51:34
Speaker 4: give you twenty There's twelve state holidays in code.
51:39
Speaker 16: Take one of them away, such as Columbus Day or
51:42
Speaker 16: President's Day designated a floating holiday that employees can take
51:47
Speaker 16: and pick. If you want good Friday, take it, if
51:49
Speaker 16: you want Juneteenth, take it. You get no additional holidays.
51:53
Speaker 16: The state's not out any more money. People have their
51:55
Speaker 16: flexibility done and done. That's how you do it.
51:57
Speaker 4: So a lot of private companies have done than it
51:59
Speaker 4: that way.
52:00
Speaker 16: Imagine that we can learn something from the private sector.
52:02
Speaker 4: Imagine that I fixed that in twenty five seconds. What
52:06
Speaker 4: do you got for me next?
52:07
Speaker 8: What's what else is on the show today besides Steam
52:09
Speaker 8: relates give me give me ten seconds.
52:10
Speaker 16: Mike cal Laverio coming up at ten o six on
52:12
Speaker 16: the WVU bog Larry Pack in the House on the
52:14
Speaker 16: Hope Scholarship and other things, and of course Chris Steierwalt.
52:17
Speaker 4: At eleven o six.
52:18
Speaker 8: All right, I'll be back later today with Metro News
52:21
