Hikers Rescued on Independence Trail | Reno News
Two hikers got separated and ran low on supplies on the Independence Trail near Nevada City — no food, no water. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team sprang into action, deploying ATVs, drones, and ground crews to locate both hikers. Thanks to a cell phone ping, the caller was found quickly and safely guided back. His sister was located shortly after at the trailhead.
