- 0:00Speaker 1: And welcome to Auburn, Alabama.
- 0:02Speaker 2: It's a football weekend as we get going down here
- 0:05Speaker 2: at Moe's Original Barbecue, downtown Auburn, a few steps away
- 0:10Speaker 2: from the trees that will get rolled, hopefully after the
- 0:13Speaker 2: game coming up on Saturday against Vanderbilt. Jim Dunaway, Ryan Brown,
- 0:17Speaker 2: Lance Taylor back there in the next round studios in Birmingham.
- 0:21Speaker 1: And we'll get to a ton of stuff today.
- 0:23Speaker 2: That includes Steve Sarkeesian having a really a personality trait
- 0:28Speaker 2: that I have.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And I'll explain to you what that is coming up.
- 0:35Speaker 2: We'll talk about all the big games, including a very
- 0:38Speaker 2: interesting triple header that we have after.
- 0:40Speaker 1: It's not bowl season yet, but we've.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Got a three o'clock in the afternoon central time game today.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And we'll, of course, get into the NFL. Lance, how
- 0:48Speaker 2: are you doing on this football Friday, man?
- 0:51Speaker 1: I am good.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I hate that I'm missing Moe's Barbecue and being down
- 0:54Speaker 3: on the plains and enjoying Bud Light with you guys.
- 0:58Speaker 3: But I've got something this weekend that I'm not overly
- 1:02Speaker 3: excited about, but we don't have to get into that.
- 1:04Speaker 3: But anyway, I've got to post up here for a
- 1:07Speaker 3: few hours and get on the road and see what happens.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I just, I don't get fall weddings, man. I don't
- 1:18Speaker 3: understand them. I don't get them.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I heard the funniest thing yesterday. I was at the
- 1:23Speaker 4: sales office before the show. Unless it's on the phone.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It goes, well, if everybody's not feeling well, maybe I
- 1:29Speaker 1: shouldn't come up there. Yeah. Yeah. That got shut down.
- 1:32Speaker 2: There's a stomach virus going around. I actually missed, I
- 1:35Speaker 2: actually missed a Thanksgiving at the, at the, uh, Mentone, uh,
- 1:40Speaker 2: I think it was two years ago.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Maybe it was last year.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It was two years ago, maybe, that Maggie said, hey, man,
- 1:46Speaker 2: Wednesday night, stomach virus going on. I was like, you know,
- 1:49Speaker 2: I cannot miss that Friday show.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It is huge. Yeah, the one we're talking about not
- 1:53Speaker 1: doing this year? Yeah, that one. It is huge.
- 1:55Speaker 2: So I am out. I'm going to skip out on that.
- 1:57Speaker 2: No stomach virus.
- 1:58Speaker 3: At least it's not a big weekend in college football.
- 2:00Speaker 3: It's six ranked games, first time since 2023.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Biggest SEC, I mean, you could argue the biggest SEC
- 2:08Speaker 4: regular season day in conference history.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. I think that's true.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I mean, you can make that argument. Hey, we're here
- 2:14Speaker 2: in Auburn at Moe's Original Barbecue. Thanks to our friends
- 2:17Speaker 2: at Bud Light. Easy to drink, easy to enjoy.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And Lance, you know how these things go. They're always great.
- 2:23Speaker 2: drink deals here throughout the day to get you ready
- 2:25Speaker 2: for a big weekend of Bud Light.
- 2:27Speaker 3: You know, Moe's is one of those places, obviously the
- 2:29Speaker 3: incredible food, but it's also, it's kind of a destination
- 2:34Speaker 3: for a good time. You know, not only the Moe's
- 2:36Speaker 3: down there, the Moe's in Birmingham, but Bud Light's going
- 2:39Speaker 3: to have specials all day. The Bud Light girls will
- 2:41Speaker 3: be out there. They'll be giving merch out. So go
- 2:44Speaker 3: join our guys down there at Moe's getting ready for
- 2:46Speaker 3: a little Vanderbilt Auburn, which Should be a fascinating game.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I don't know how you guys feel about this, Brown.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I think you had a Vanderbilt lean. Watching Jared Curtis,
- 2:55Speaker 3: I think he's just going to get better and better.
- 2:59Speaker 4: It's a tough spot for Auburn, I think. And I
- 3:02Speaker 4: know we got four hours to cover everything in that
- 3:04Speaker 4: one game, but just first blush, the thing that has
- 3:08Speaker 4: worried me about Auburn all week is their inability to
- 3:11Speaker 4: protect Byron Brown coupled with Vanderbilt's ability to get after
- 3:16Speaker 4: the quarterback. And I think that's a bad combination for Auburn.
- 3:20Speaker 4: That's not going to be the only thing that will
- 3:22Speaker 4: determine the outcome of this game, but it is a
- 3:24Speaker 4: certain weakness that Auburn has had exposed, and it is
- 3:28Speaker 4: something that Vanderbilt is very good at doing. So I
- 3:31Speaker 4: think that is a massive, massive storyline in this one, obviously.
- 3:34Speaker 2: On my oversized index card, Vandy Auburn is a non-play
- 3:38Speaker 2: for me this weekend.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Staying away. Staying away from that one, Lance.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Well, that's shocking because you play 90% of the games
- 3:45Speaker 3: on the board.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I've only got seven that I'm playing right now as
- 3:49Speaker 1: I sit here.
- 3:50Speaker 3: How will you fill out your 25-team parlay if you
- 3:53Speaker 3: actually leave that out?
- 3:55Speaker 1: That doesn't count. That doesn't count.
- 3:57Speaker 2: The parlays are– that game's too close for me to
- 3:59Speaker 2: put in my 20-game parlay, by the way. That point
- 4:02Speaker 2: spread's not big enough. It's harder to do a 15-team
- 4:05Speaker 2: parlay once you get to this part of the season.
- 4:07Speaker 2: You don't have a bunch of– 20-point money line plays
- 4:10Speaker 2: that I have not hit one of them yet.
- 4:12Speaker 1: There's been a major upset. We'll get to all our
- 4:15Speaker 1: gambling takes and all that.
- 4:16Speaker 2: The show being brought to you here on Sport and
- 4:18Speaker 2: Save by our friends at Hard Rock Badman. They're Florida's
- 4:21Speaker 2: only legal sports book. making them by far the most
- 4:25Speaker 2: trustworthy option in the market. But it's not just in Florida.

- 5:21Speaker 2: those if you log in during.
- 5:22Speaker 1: The happy hour.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Which is 4 to 6 o'clock on Fridays. Get more details,
- 5:27Speaker 2: hardrock.bet backslash clay, hardrock.bet backslash clay. Let's start in the NFL, though,
- 5:33Speaker 2: because I actually got one right yesterday.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I was leaning Falcons. I joked about it on the air.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And everyone, you know, I think Forrester's out of the
- 5:43Speaker 2: survivor pool now because he took the Packers.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Great pick there, Forrester. At least it was close to
- 5:48Speaker 1: a blowout game.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And I even told you guys, I even manipulated the
- 5:51Speaker 2: point spread where I won one of my biggest wins.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I took the Falcons and gave six and a half
- 5:57Speaker 2: points last night. It was a dominant run performance. They
- 6:00Speaker 2: just ran it down Green Bay's throat last night.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Well, that was the difference. I mean, when you look
- 6:05Speaker 3: at Green Bay up front, they're having issues. Now they've
- 6:07Speaker 3: lost seven of their last eight games going back to
- 6:10Speaker 3: last year, including the postseason. Green Bay 9 carries 17 yards.
- 6:13Speaker 3: The Falcons 41 carries 242 yards. B. John was B.
- 6:19Speaker 3: John last night, and I think it shows you when
- 6:21Speaker 3: you have an NFL quarterback, which Michael Penix might not
- 6:24Speaker 3: be one of the top 15 or 20 guys in
- 6:27Speaker 3: the league, but he is a quality NFL starting quarterback.
- 6:30Speaker 3: When he's healthy, you see what Kevin Stefanski can do
- 6:34Speaker 3: with this offense. Drake London was fantastic. B. John was
- 6:37Speaker 3: next level. Green Bay, I don't know what we take
- 6:40Speaker 3: more out of this, guys. Are the Falcons a serious
- 6:43Speaker 3: player now if Penix can stay healthy in the NFC South?
- 6:47Speaker 3: Or is Green Bay just a bad football team?
- 6:50Speaker 4: I think Green Bay's a bad football team.
- 6:52Speaker 1: No offense to the Falcons. I think the Falcons aren't
- 6:53Speaker 1: a very good football team. Now, Bijan Robinson, Bijan Robinson
- 6:56Speaker 1: is one of the best players in the NFL. It's great.
- 7:00Speaker 1: London almost had 200 yards receiving. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 4: But, I mean, really, Lance, the Packers should have back-to-back
- 7:06Speaker 4: losses to the Jets and the Falcons. So you tell me,
- 7:09Speaker 4: are they a good team?
- 7:10Speaker 1: If you're going to lose back-to-back to the Jets and
- 7:12Speaker 1: the Falcons, I don't think you're a very good team.
- 7:14Speaker 3: They're a penalty away, really bad clock management by the
- 7:17Speaker 3: Jets from being 0-3 right now. And at that point,
- 7:21Speaker 3: they would have lost, what, eight straight games?
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And that's a problem. We can say, hey, no Micah Parsons.
- 7:28Speaker 3: That's kind of when the fall started. Micah Parsons is
- 7:32Speaker 3: really good, one of the best defensive players in the
- 7:33Speaker 3: NFL right But he's not the difference in eight consecutive games.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And the same people are talking about, well, if Josh
- 7:39Speaker 3: Jacobs was there, they could run the football. Maybe a
- 7:41Speaker 3: little bit better. I just look at the offensive line.
- 7:43Speaker 3: The offensive line's been a mess.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I look at the defense. Because Atlanta ran it down
- 7:49Speaker 2: their throat last night. And I know Bijan Robinson is
- 7:53Speaker 2: that good. But Brian Robinson had some good runs last night, too.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The former Alabama running back. So all of a sudden,
- 8:01Speaker 2: my Buccaneers... right now look to be by far the
- 8:04Speaker 2: worst team, at least off to the start, in the
- 8:06Speaker 2: AFC South of what you've seen from the Saints, the Panthers,
- 8:09Speaker 2: and the talent you have on that Falcons roster. I'll
- 8:12Speaker 2: say this about the NFL this weekend. There are two
- 8:16Speaker 2: other games that I find interesting. And one of them
- 8:19Speaker 2: involves your Rams, Lance. Rams at Broncos, when that game
- 8:23Speaker 2: rolls around this weekend, that's an interesting game to me
- 8:26Speaker 2: on what do the Rams look like now on the
- 8:28Speaker 2: road And I'm really interested, and it won't be a
- 8:31Speaker 2: fair judgment for the Broncos, But I want to see
- 8:34Speaker 2: what Bo Nix looks like against an elite defense. It's
- 8:38Speaker 2: an intriguing game to me. More on the Denver side
- 8:41Speaker 2: against the Rams this weekend. What do you think of
- 8:43Speaker 2: Rams-Broncos this weekend?
- 8:45Speaker 3: It's a tough game. I'm right there on the Bo
- 8:48Speaker 3: Nix situation. He played okay last week. Jacksonville's a much
- 8:52Speaker 3: better team than people give them credit for. Jacksonville's a
- 8:55Speaker 3: team that went into Denver, beat them last year. But
- 8:57Speaker 3: for Denver to snap out of that funk and how
- 8:59Speaker 3: bad they looked against Kansas City to get that home win...
- 9:02Speaker 3: Big for Bo Nix. I just, I don't know how
- 9:04Speaker 3: he's going to be against this defense. More than likely,
- 9:07Speaker 3: Puka is not going to play in this game again,
- 9:10Speaker 3: which is a massive factor for the Rams because, you know,
- 9:13Speaker 3: Sean Payton and Denver know, let's slow down Devontae Adams
- 9:17Speaker 3: and offensively the Rams are going to have a problem.
- 9:19Speaker 3: So it should be a great game. Rams slight favorite
- 9:22Speaker 3: two and a half here. Would like for him just
- 9:25Speaker 3: to get out of there with a win, but I
- 9:27Speaker 3: don't know. That Denver defense is legitimate.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, it is what they're living on because,
- 9:32Speaker 4: as Lance said, Bo Nix with the injury. Coming back,
- 9:35Speaker 4: he's just looked okay. I mean, this Puka thing, though, Lance,
- 9:39Speaker 4: has got to be concerning for you. I mean, they
- 9:41Speaker 4: keep saying his hip is not responding to treatment, as
- 9:43Speaker 4: the last I read. I know you've probably seen further
- 9:46Speaker 4: updates than that, but this is starting. I don't think
- 9:49Speaker 4: it sees an ending by any stretch of the imagination,
- 9:52Speaker 4: but it does seem a little bit concerning, doesn't it?
- 9:54Speaker 3: It's very concerning because he is arguably, I mean, led
- 9:57Speaker 3: the NFL in receptions last year.
- 10:00Speaker 1: He's one of the top two or three receivers right
- 10:02Speaker 1: now in the league.
- 10:03Speaker 3: And without him, you know, I just don't know how
- 10:06Speaker 3: dynamic this offense can be. You know, they run a
- 10:08Speaker 3: lot of three tight end sets. Obviously, Devontae Adams, even
- 10:11Speaker 3: at his age, is still a borderline elite guy. But, man,
- 10:14Speaker 3: it would be such a massive loss. And I talked
- 10:17Speaker 3: to you guys about it last week. You know, they're
- 10:18Speaker 3: trying to figure out whether or not to give Puka
- 10:21Speaker 3: that lucrative contract. There's some things that he's done off
- 10:24Speaker 3: field that they don't really trust. The organization doesn't. So
- 10:27Speaker 3: they're evaluating that. And he's battled injuries. You know, he
- 10:30Speaker 3: only missed one game last year, but he was always
- 10:32Speaker 3: a little nicked up. So if you can't stay on
- 10:35Speaker 3: the field, you've got question marks off the field, it's
- 10:37Speaker 3: going to be really difficult for them to give him
- 10:39Speaker 3: one of those massive contracts.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Interesting there.
- 10:42Speaker 2: One other game before we get into the college game
- 10:46Speaker 2: in the NFL this weekend. It's not a must-win yet,
- 10:49Speaker 2: I guess, for the Houston Texans, but a very interesting game.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Houston on the road at Indianapolis. D'Amico Ryan's a very
- 10:55Speaker 2: popular former Alabama player. a team that was penciled in
- 11:00Speaker 2: as a playoff. They're facing 0-3 if they can't go
- 11:03Speaker 2: on the road and get a win at Indianapolis. How's
- 11:05Speaker 2: that one on your radar this weekend in the NFL?
- 11:07Speaker 3: Well, it's a fun AFC South game, and I do
- 11:09Speaker 3: think this Texas team, they've got to get off the snide.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Week one, you kind of understood. Josh Allen did incredible
- 11:15Speaker 3: Josh Allen things, comes in with four total touchdowns, basically
- 11:19Speaker 3: carved up that defense. It was a track meet. Houston
- 11:22Speaker 3: had ball in hand to win the game at the end.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Couldn't get it done, but then last week, they kind
- 11:27Speaker 3: of looked lost against that Cincinnati defense. That's concerning. The
- 11:31Speaker 3: Colts are also 0-2, so they're battling for their lives.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Go back last year, though. Houston, only 16% of teams
- 11:38Speaker 3: since we expanded to 14 teams in the playoffs. go
- 11:42Speaker 3: on and make the postseason after starting 0-2. Houston was
- 11:45Speaker 3: one of those teams last year. Not only 0-2, they
- 11:48Speaker 3: started 0-3. So they don't want to fall behind another
- 11:51Speaker 3: game here. So this is a massive game in the
- 11:53Speaker 3: AFC South.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's a little bit of the NFL.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Lance'sLock.com, Lance'sLock.com to get plays throughout the weekend, including today's game,
- 12:04Speaker 2: Saturday's college football, but of course the NFL game. coming
- 12:07Speaker 2: up on Sunday, lanceslock.com. All right, we'll jump to the
- 12:10Speaker 2: college game here. Again, we're broadcasting from Auburn. Brownie and
- 12:14Speaker 2: I down here in Auburn ahead of the Vandy-Alabama game.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Last week, we were in Tuscaloosa. Just real quickly, if
- 12:21Speaker 2: you watched last week's show, I did bring up a
- 12:22Speaker 2: Florida State fan and tried to interview him on headset.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Is that why we're on stick mics today?
- 12:27Speaker 1: No, no, we're just, you know, a little different. Trying
- 12:29Speaker 1: something new today. I was trying something new, you know.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That way, you know, if I want to take a drink,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I They're not taking my drink. I don't know. Just checking.
- 12:37Speaker 1: We changed it up a little bit this week. Okay.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Stick mics. I like it.
- 12:41Speaker 5: I like it.
- 12:42Speaker 3: You know what they've got there that you guys will love? Now,
- 12:45Speaker 3: we want to promote Bud Light, and I see the
- 12:46Speaker 3: Bud Light neon right there between you guys. But I
- 12:49Speaker 3: know both of you guys like Bushwhackers, and they've got
- 12:52Speaker 3: a really, really good Bushwhacker.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You can see the machine from where we are. Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:57Speaker 2: It has that Floribama feel to it almost with that
- 13:00Speaker 2: machine over there. I know how to work that machine
- 13:02Speaker 2: by the way. I got trained on the one at
- 13:05Speaker 2: the floor. It's a good comparison. Moe's Barbecue does have
- 13:08Speaker 2: a little Floribama.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Feel to it. It does. It really does. The coloring?
- 13:14Speaker 2: I think we could tell them we know the mix, man.
- 13:16Speaker 2: We can mix those push records if you guys are
- 13:18Speaker 2: running low. If you need me to go over there
- 13:19Speaker 2: and work the swirl, I'll do it, man, all day long.
- 13:22Speaker 1: You want a topper?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Let's jump into college football, love. Forrester and Tyler, if
- 13:27Speaker 2: you can give me, let's see, where is our cut
- 13:30Speaker 2: number eight? Get cut number eight ready. Because number one, Texas,
- 13:35Speaker 2: is on the road to play 14th-ranked Tennessee this weekend.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And President Trump, reportedly, first reported by Clay Travis, is
- 13:42Speaker 2: going to be at Neyland Stadium. Now, we talked yesterday,
- 13:46Speaker 2: Brown and I, LT, we've been at games before with
- 13:48Speaker 2: the President of the United States. But that was before
- 13:51Speaker 2: the helmet communication was part of college football.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I did not know this. And here is the trait
- 13:58Speaker 2: that Sark and I share. Sark has taken a factual story,
- 14:03Speaker 2: and apparently he's enhanced.
- 14:04Speaker 1: It a little bit. Made it his own.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Something I do often, and for entertainment purposes only. I
- 14:10Speaker 2: don't know if Sark's doing it for entertainment purposes only,
- 14:13Speaker 2: but here is Steve Sarkeesian talking about concerns. They're prepared
- 14:17Speaker 2: for actually losing the helmet communications during tomorrow morning's game
- 14:23Speaker 2: in Knoxville and because of the president of the United States.
- 14:27Speaker 6: It won't change anything for us from a logistic standpoint,
- 14:30Speaker 6: timing standpoint of getting there. This will actually be my
- 14:34Speaker 6: second time. I've had one other opportunity to do that.
- 14:37Speaker 6: And one thing that you have to be aware of
- 14:39Speaker 6: when the president goes to any game is that anytime
- 14:42Speaker 6: he enters the stadium or leaves the stadium or changes
- 14:45Speaker 6: locations within the stadium, they cut all communication. So they
- 14:49Speaker 6: cut your headsets. They cut headsets to coaches. They cut
- 14:53Speaker 6: headsets to coach-to-player communication. So you have to have a
- 14:57Speaker 6: plan for that if and or when, and you get
- 14:59Speaker 6: no warning. So that just gets cut out. So you
- 15:01Speaker 6: have to have a plan for that to adjust if
- 15:04Speaker 6: and or when. If he comes in middle of the
- 15:06Speaker 6: first quarter or leaves in the fourth quarter or decides
- 15:10Speaker 6: he's got to use the restroom, whatever that looks like,
- 15:12Speaker 6: you've got to be prepared to have no comms for
- 15:15Speaker 6: a short amount of time.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Okay, so that's Sark.
- 15:20Speaker 2: And he went on to tell the story. that my
- 15:23Speaker 2: buddy Mario Cristobal dealt with it last year. Now, he
- 15:25Speaker 2: said it was the final drive that they didn't have
- 15:28Speaker 2: comms in the final part of the fourth quarter, including,
- 15:32Speaker 2: he thought, the final drive. CBS, John Talty, Matt Zenitz
- 15:37Speaker 2: have talked to Miami, and then Kurt Cignetti's been very upfront.
- 15:41Speaker 2: It seems like it was just a small portion.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Like two plays.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, like two plays around the six-minute mark.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Sig actually said it was one of the Miami touchdowns.
- 15:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I think it was the touchdown. Yeah, not the final drive.
- 15:53Speaker 2: But Lance, Brownie, did y'all know that was a thing
- 15:56Speaker 2: when the president moved around that we would lose communications?
- 16:00Speaker 1: I guess Brownie, LTA. They scramble the communications so that.
- 16:04Speaker 1: All communications.
- 16:05Speaker 4: All communications so that they are the only ones communicating
- 16:07Speaker 4: the president's whereabouts and nobody else can hear where the
- 16:10Speaker 4: president is, Lance. I had no idea this was a
- 16:13Speaker 4: thing when he was at these games.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I mean, I've never thought about it, but I guess
- 16:17Speaker 3: if you really play it out in your mind and
- 16:18Speaker 3: try to process it, It makes sense. Does anybody have
- 16:22Speaker 3: the balls to tell Donald Trump, hey, let's wait till
- 16:26Speaker 3: the game. Let's wait till all zeros on the clock
- 16:28Speaker 3: before we move around. This is a very important game
- 16:30Speaker 3: in the SEC this weekend.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm assuming if he's at the Texas-Tennessee game,
- 16:36Speaker 1: he's sitting with Tennessee people, right?
- 16:37Speaker 6: Right.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Because I know when he came to Alabama, we know
- 16:40Speaker 4: the guy who gave up his suite for President Trump
- 16:44Speaker 4: for 2019.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Was it the 2019 LSU game?
- 16:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So the guy that gave up his suite. So generally,
- 16:50Speaker 1: they go to a big-time booster and they're like, hey, look. Well, actually,
- 16:54Speaker 1: he's been back again since then. No, he came to
- 16:55Speaker 1: the Bama-Georgia game.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the one.
- 16:57Speaker 1: That's the one that gave up the suite. That's the one. Okay,
- 16:59Speaker 1: so we know the guy that gave the suite up
- 17:00Speaker 1: for that one. And that's kind of what they do.
- 17:03Speaker 4: But he's going to be sitting, Lance, I would imagine,
- 17:05Speaker 4: with Tennessee fans, probably not Texas fans. So, like, if
- 17:08Speaker 4: Tennessee's got the ball in a critical situation and President
- 17:11Speaker 4: Trump does, you know, they'll, all right, boys, they're going
- 17:14Speaker 4: to be like, uh-uh.
- 17:16Speaker 1: If Texas is about to start recruiting, don't you have
- 17:19Speaker 1: to go pee? Yeah, get on out of here. Don't
- 17:20Speaker 1: you need to go to the restaurant? I don't know why.
- 17:22Speaker 3: I just visualized him sitting with the Mannings, but I'm
- 17:25Speaker 3: sure you guys have heard. Peyton Manning came out and
- 17:28Speaker 3: said he's pulling against his alma mater.
- 17:29Speaker 2: How do you guys feel about that? We talked about
- 17:32Speaker 2: it a little bit earlier this week. It was the
- 17:35Speaker 2: day you were gone. We talked about this. How do
- 17:37Speaker 2: you feel about that? Because I feel like the nephew
- 17:42Speaker 2: should understand that It's a sports thing. I'm cheering for
- 17:45Speaker 2: you to do as good as you can, but in
- 17:47Speaker 2: the sports world, I want you to have a 400-yard
- 17:49Speaker 2: passing game and lose by one to Tennessee because I'm
- 17:52Speaker 2: a ball for life.
- 17:53Speaker 1: How do you feel about that?
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look, if it's his kid, I get it.
- 17:57Speaker 3: His nephew, different story. I'm still pulling for Tennessee if
- 18:02Speaker 3: I'm Peyton Manning, and like you just said, I'm hoping
- 18:04Speaker 3: Arch plays extremely well. At that point, you kind of
- 18:07Speaker 3: want to shoot out, but you want Tennessee to find
- 18:09Speaker 3: a way to win.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I mean, look, family's important, but what Peyton did for
- 18:14Speaker 3: that university, I just find it hard to believe he
- 18:17Speaker 3: is pulling against Tennessee.
- 18:20Speaker 4: What if Arch was a dog? Would you pull for
- 18:23Speaker 4: Arch or pull before you went to school?
- 18:24Speaker 3: I don't know. That's a complicated question, Brown.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Okay, yeah.
- 18:29Speaker 4: I'm complicated now for Lance. I mean, dog versus school.
- 18:31Speaker 4: I don't know what he does.
- 18:32Speaker 2: On our drive to Auburn today, coming down 280, we
- 18:36Speaker 2: were coming down that hill towards Auburn out of Dadeville.
- 18:42Speaker 2: And the back of a red pickup truck was a.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Labrador.
- 18:48Speaker 4: No, it kind of looked like it had some bulldog
- 18:50Speaker 4: in it. It was a big, thick dog. It was
- 18:52Speaker 4: a big dog. Maybe boxer.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Maybe a big boxer.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it was unleashed and unbridled, unboxed in the back
- 19:03Speaker 2: of a pickup truck. And it would get up on
- 19:05Speaker 2: the silver toolbox, Lance, and lean around and stick its
- 19:08Speaker 2: head out and slide a little bit. On that toolbox,
- 19:12Speaker 2: and it had no restraints, no safety procedures to keep
- 19:15Speaker 2: him in, and all it would have taken is that guy,
- 19:18Speaker 2: one little bump, one little swerve, and that dog was
- 19:20Speaker 2: off to the side going 60 miles an hour. I
- 19:22Speaker 2: was nervous for the dog, and I encouraged Brownie, let's
- 19:26Speaker 2: pass this thing because I don't want the dog to
- 19:28Speaker 2: bounce and hit us if it slides off. It was
- 19:30Speaker 2: the most, to me, when I went by, I gave
- 19:34Speaker 2: him the Dunaway limp.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I gave him the Dunaway look. You don't love that dog.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Or you wouldn't have him in the back of that
- 19:40Speaker 2: pickup truck like that.
- 19:42Speaker 7: Labrador bulldogs are known for their sure-footedness.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Are they?
- 19:48Speaker 1: I've never heard of a Labrador. Bulldog. Let's just say
- 19:54Speaker 1: we couldn't pick that dog out of a lineup because
- 19:56Speaker 1: we've got different descriptions. I don't think it was a
- 19:59Speaker 1: purebred anything.
- 20:00Speaker 3: If we're trying to arrest that dog, we've got problems
- 20:03Speaker 3: with you two guys. I'd love to see the artists
- 20:05Speaker 3: sit down and try to sketch it out. That's how
- 20:07Speaker 3: we used to ride in pickup trucks in the 70s
- 20:09Speaker 3: and 80s. They'd throw us all back.
- 20:12Speaker 1: We did that with kids.
- 20:13Speaker 2: We have this funny thing called this This hand, this
- 20:16Speaker 2: disposable thumb.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Yeah, opposable, not disposable.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Opposable.
- 20:21Speaker 2: That dog had four paws sliding on a silver toolbox
- 20:25Speaker 2: in the back.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I know he over-exaggerates, Lance, but he's not over-exaggerating this.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Like, the dog, I thought it was about to fall
- 20:31Speaker 1: out of the truck. Because it came from one side
- 20:32Speaker 1: of the truck to the other around the curb.
- 20:34Speaker 4: As we pulled up, he's like, oh, new human. So
- 20:36Speaker 4: he comes running across the toolbox, and I'm like, oh,
- 20:38Speaker 4: my God, he's about to fall out.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't trust Bullet to, like, I only can
- 20:41Speaker 3: roll the window down so much because I'm afraid he's
- 20:44Speaker 3: going to jump out. So I would be more fearful
- 20:46Speaker 3: that the dog in the back would just jump out. But, yeah,
- 20:49Speaker 3: not a good owner. At least it's fall weather out there.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I took the dogs for a walk earlier this morning.
- 20:55Speaker 3: 62 when I hit the door.
- 20:57Speaker 7: I know.
- 20:58Speaker 1: It feels great.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I got a little hoodie on here because the air
- 21:01Speaker 2: conditioning is kicking here at Moe's. Wonderful original barbecue here
- 21:05Speaker 2: in Auburn. I threw in wonderful, but it is. It's
- 21:07Speaker 2: not in the sign, but it is wonderful. Absolutely. Turn
- 21:12Speaker 2: that thermometer up. No, I like the fall feel for
- 21:16Speaker 2: an Auburn football game this weekend.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Vandy and Auburn.
- 21:19Speaker 2: That's what brings us to town with our friends at
- 21:21Speaker 2: Bud Light here at Moe's Original Barbecue. We're here until
- 21:25Speaker 2: 1 o'clock Central today. The Sport and Stay part of
- 21:28Speaker 2: our show continues on the other side. We'll talk to
- 21:31Speaker 2: Todd Furman coming up in hour number two. When we
- 21:34Speaker 2: come back, though, we'll go ahead and give.
- 21:36Speaker 1: You the early headlines. Oh, wow.
- 21:37Speaker 2: The headlines for the upcoming week of college football. We'll
- 21:42Speaker 2: do this every week. It's a quick reaction. to what
- 21:45Speaker 2: we expect to see, whether it's tonight, Saturday. We worked
- 21:50Speaker 2: some headlines for you. We'll do that in the next segment.
- 21:52Speaker 2: We'll start talking about some of the big games as well.
- 21:54Speaker 2: It's all right here on the next round, presented by
- 21:57Speaker 2: Hard Rock Bet on Sporting State.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Back with you on Sporting State, the next round, presented
- 22:03Speaker 1: by Hard Rock Bet.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Before I tell you about the wonderful folks at Crockett Coffee,
- 22:07Speaker 2: I want to remind you, football today starts at 4 Eastern,
- 22:10Speaker 2: 3 Central, with Army and Temple playing.
- 22:13Speaker 1: And then in Birmingham, you.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Get Navy playing UAB after that, and then Clemson and Cal.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Pretty nice on a Friday to have Army and Navy
- 22:20Speaker 2: playing back-to-back if you love the military run games.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I was unaware of this until you told me
- 22:26Speaker 4: there's a 3 o'clock game today, and I thought you meant.
- 22:28Speaker 1: What bowl game is that? No, I thought you meant tomorrow.
- 22:31Speaker 1: You were talking about, I didn't know what you meant.
- 22:32Speaker 2: And I looked it up. Yeah, we've got an Army-Navy doubleheader,
- 22:35Speaker 2: and the Navy portion of it is at UAB. Yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 2: it should be a lot of fun tonight at Protective Stadium.
- 22:39Speaker 2: A few tickets remain if you want to get down
- 22:41Speaker 2: there and watch the Blazers. By the way, Northwestern and
- 22:44Speaker 2: Indiana tonight, we'll talk about that contest in a second.
- 22:47Speaker 2: To date, it's the best competition Indiana has played so
- 22:50Speaker 2: far this year. The show being brought to you by
- 22:53Speaker 2: the wonderful folks.
- 22:53Speaker 1: At Crockett Coffee, CrockettCoffee.com.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Made and roasted right here in America. That Arabica bean,
- 23:01Speaker 2: high altitude bean, small batch roasted right here in America's heartland.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Ships fresh roasted, never sits in a warehouse. It is
- 23:09Speaker 2: one of those wonderful brands. That does a lot of
- 23:12Speaker 2: wonderful things. That includes free shipping of $ 59 or more.
- 23:16Speaker 1: It also, with your subscription, you.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Can change it. You can cancel it anytime you want.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Get it however you like your coffee. Light roasted, medium dark, decaffeinated,
- 23:25Speaker 2: organic mushroom blend. And the whole bean, the ground, the K-Cups,
- 23:28Speaker 2: they have it for you. And Crockett has partnered with
- 23:31Speaker 2: Tunnel to Towers, building mortgage-free homes. for the families of
- 23:35Speaker 2: fallen service members. So it's good coffee, made in America,
- 23:39Speaker 2: doing some good. CrockettCoffee.com, that's C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T, CrockettCoffee.com, the coffee that Clay, Buck,
- 23:48Speaker 2: and Buck's brother Mason started and named after Davy Crockett.
- 23:52Speaker 2: All right, before we do our headlines, Lance, northwestern Indiana tonight. Sadly,
- 23:59Speaker 2: this is the most competitive game Indiana's played so far.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it is. There's no doubt.
- 24:05Speaker 3: And Aiden Childs, the way he played last week against Colorado,
- 24:08Speaker 3: I mean, Northwestern took him to the woodshed.
- 24:10Speaker 1: 41-7.
- 24:11Speaker 3: David Braun, we've talked about this guy. in year four
- 24:14Speaker 3: for Northwestern, three of those four years winning years. He's
- 24:17Speaker 3: done a hell of a job there, and they're playing
- 24:19Speaker 3: with a lot of confidence. And we'll finally see. I
- 24:22Speaker 3: know that people have been a little critical on Josh Hoover.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I don't really know why. The numbers have been really good.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Kirk Cignetti had to come to his defense earlier this year,
- 24:30Speaker 3: or earlier this week, I should say. But this will
- 24:33Speaker 3: be his first test. I think Northwestern, it's still a
- 24:36Speaker 3: big number, 21 and a half. I'm not giving out
- 24:39Speaker 3: this game, but probably would lean Northwestern.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, just to keep it inside the number, not that
- 24:46Speaker 2: Indiana's going to lose this game, but Brownie, this is
- 24:50Speaker 2: a big discussion. They're out of conference for the Big Ten.
- 24:53Speaker 2: They get into conference play this weekend, but according to
- 24:56Speaker 2: the FPI folks at ESPN, seven Big Ten teams did
- 25:02Speaker 2: not play through three weeks a team in the.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Top 60 of the FPI. Indiana's one of those. So
- 25:09Speaker 1: too is UCLA, Penn State, Washington, Iowa, USC, and Nebraska.
- 25:15Speaker 1: That's the top 60 in the FPI.
- 25:17Speaker 4: I hate it that college football has become that, that
- 25:20Speaker 4: you could go through your entire non-conference and not even
- 25:22Speaker 4: play a top 60 team.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Sucks.
- 25:24Speaker 4: I mean, just to be honest about it, if you're
- 25:26Speaker 4: a Big Ten team, and you named some brands there,
- 25:28Speaker 4: I mean, Nebraska, I mean, UCLA is not a brand.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Who else did you name? Well, I mean, Indiana, Penn State.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, Lance, here's my point, Lance.
- 25:39Speaker 2: If I'm a Penn State fan, I may have a
- 25:41Speaker 2: pretty good football team, but I know Indiana is a
- 25:43Speaker 2: pretty good football team, and this is the best time
- 25:46Speaker 2: to be an Indiana fan. Lance, if I'm an Indiana fan,
- 25:49Speaker 2: in this greatest time of our football history, I hate
- 25:52Speaker 2: that we gave away a quarter of the season again,
- 25:54Speaker 2: and we do it every year, of playing nobodies. I
- 25:57Speaker 2: want to go watch my teams play good teams.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I get that.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I think Indiana fans, though, are just going to buy
- 26:03Speaker 3: into what Cignetti's saying. Hey, look, we're not going to
- 26:05Speaker 3: play these difficult out-of-conference games. I don't blame him for
- 26:07Speaker 3: not playing them. I mean, but these games are absolute jokes.
- 26:11Speaker 1: They really are.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I mean, I didn't realize Western Kentucky was going to
- 26:14Speaker 3: be as bad as they are this year. So Western Kentucky,
- 26:17Speaker 3: I mean, I can kind of handle that, but, you know,
- 26:19Speaker 3: the Howards of the world don't make a lot of sense.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean, I feel bad for Klatt, honestly. Y'all know
- 26:24Speaker 1: we love Klatt on this show, but Lance, he has
- 26:26Speaker 1: been saddled with some crap games, and it's not Fox's fault.
- 26:30Speaker 1: It's the Big Ten's fault. They've got nothing for him
- 26:32Speaker 1: to show or nothing for Fox to show.
- 26:34Speaker 4: And, you know, they get in conference play, and again,
- 26:36Speaker 4: they got Ohio State-Illinois this week, which Illinois is, what,
- 26:40Speaker 4: about a three touchdowns? How big a dog is Illinois
- 26:44Speaker 4: in that game?
- 26:44Speaker 1: Three touchdowns?
- 26:45Speaker 5: 27 and a half.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I mean, they finally get a conference game. for clat
- 26:50Speaker 1: and it's a 27 and a half points for.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Ed that's that's ridiculous that's the big lowercase big noon
- 26:56Speaker 2: kickoff yeah so far in the big tent all right
- 26:59Speaker 2: we're about to do our headlines where we try to
- 27:01Speaker 2: predict some things that are happening or have some commentary
- 27:03Speaker 2: of some things that are going on uh tyler refresh
- 27:06Speaker 2: my memory i think i said me lance and brownie correct.
- 27:10Speaker 1: That is that the order correct okay that is what
- 27:12Speaker 1: you said literally three minutes ago all.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Right this is our segment every week where we try
- 27:16Speaker 2: to project the headlines let's start with mine in the
- 27:19Speaker 2: caribbean queen this week uh the headline the main headline
- 27:24Speaker 2: tobago happy for trinidad success i.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Mean who wouldn't be if you watch the olympics you
- 27:30Speaker 1: get that.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah tobago happy for trinidad success every i mean everyone's
- 27:34Speaker 2: talking trinidad even in the caribbean.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yes the caribbean queen yeah the ocean.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yeah Madden voice as bad as Chris Pratt's Super Mario character.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw the trailer last night, guys,
- 27:48Speaker 2: in the NFL game, or maybe you've clicked on Prime,
- 27:51Speaker 2: but they hit it a lot in the game last night.
- 27:53Speaker 2: This movie, I don't care how good it's going to be,
- 27:56Speaker 2: it's unwatchable because of Nicolas Cage's voice of.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Trying to be John Madden. Did you see it, Lance?
- 28:03Speaker 2: Did you see the trailer for the movie?
- 28:05Speaker 1: I did.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I like Nick Cage. He is a weird dude. I
- 28:08Speaker 3: never understood it when we first talked about this over
- 28:12Speaker 3: a year ago when they cast him to play John Madden.
- 28:14Speaker 3: It just didn't make a lot of sense.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Tyler, and anyone can answer this, but I think Tyler
- 28:20Speaker 4: might be best suited for it. What is closer, me
- 28:24Speaker 4: doing Bane or Nick Cage doing John Madden?
- 28:29Speaker 1: You doing Bane.
- 28:30Speaker 3: It's not even close.
- 28:32Speaker 1: And I know I don't sound like him. I'm doing
- 28:34Speaker 1: it as a bit. It is you doing Bane. Oh,
- 28:37Speaker 1: that's hard.
- 28:38Speaker 4: It's you doing just about anybody. Can you imitate anybody
- 28:42Speaker 4: better than Nick Cage can imitate John Madden?
- 28:44Speaker 2: We were listening to the folks on the fan coming in,
- 28:47Speaker 2: and they nailed it. Nicolas Cage doing Madden sounds like
- 28:50Speaker 2: he's the same character he was in Con Air.
- 28:54Speaker 3: No, there's no way, because Con Air, he plays a
- 28:57Speaker 3: guy named Cameron Poe. It is the worst Southern accent
- 29:01Speaker 3: I have ever heard.
- 29:03Speaker 4: But, I mean, his Madden accent doesn't, it's not even
- 29:06Speaker 4: like he's trying to do Madden. I don't know what
- 29:08Speaker 4: he's trying to do, but it was like, I love football.
- 29:11Speaker 1: How hard would it be him in there? It's such
- 29:15Speaker 1: a weird accent. I love football and I want to
- 29:17Speaker 1: play more football.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It doesn't sell a job at all. I know we
- 29:20Speaker 2: couldn't have got the guy that does impersonations.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Frank Caliendo. We couldn't get Caliendo to act. to be
- 29:25Speaker 1: Madden in this? It would be better than this.
- 29:27Speaker 2: But how hard would it have been for him to
- 29:28Speaker 2: voice over off camera just the lip sync with Nicolas Cage?
- 29:33Speaker 1: It would be better than this.
- 29:34Speaker 7: Yeah, it's worse than Chris Pratt's Mario. I actually got
- 29:38Speaker 7: used to the Chris Pratt Mario while those movies.
- 29:42Speaker 3: I never even knew the Chris Pratt Mario thing.
- 29:45Speaker 7: It's just Chris Pratt's voice.
- 29:46Speaker 1: That's it.
- 29:47Speaker 7: It's just not a Mario game.
- 29:49Speaker 1: So we got seven players. I don't think I'm going
- 29:51Speaker 1: to put my name on that. It does not sound
- 29:54Speaker 1: like John Madden at all.
- 29:58Speaker 2: A little tip of the hat there, Tyler, for the
- 30:01Speaker 2: Chris Pratt Super Mario pull there on bad voice movie things.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I do have Google at home. Ryan, you sound like
- 30:08Speaker 1: Kermit the Frog. Did you see the trailer, though? I did,
- 30:13Speaker 1: but you sound like Kermit the Frog right now.
- 30:16Speaker 2: My other headline, a little inside baseball, if you saw
- 30:19Speaker 2: what everybody was talking about in the sportscasting industry, they
- 30:22Speaker 2: were piling on our buddy Shannon Terry, all three sports
- 30:26Speaker 2: and rivals, trying to help kids who are not on
- 30:29Speaker 2: anybody's radar get on the radar for a small fee.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I mean, it is capitalism.
- 30:36Speaker 2: So my other headline is, The college football playoff committee
- 30:39Speaker 2: will evaluate playoff contenders for only $ 499.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Everybody would pay it.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Everybody would pay it. Everybody but UCLA. They'd be like, God,
- 30:49Speaker 4: that's another thing we can't pay.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Go ahead and pay $ 499.
- 30:52Speaker 1: But I didn't understand why people were piling on Shannon
- 30:54Speaker 1: Terry so much. You didn't?
- 30:56Speaker 2: Well, I mean, a lot of people don't like Shannon
- 30:58Speaker 2: because of the... Well, there's some jealousy out there, there's
- 31:01Speaker 2: no doubt. I mean, Shannon has been extremely successful, Lance,
- 31:04Speaker 2: but I mean, when you run a company that's built
- 31:08Speaker 2: on evaluating players for recruiting purposes, and then you say,
- 31:12Speaker 2: I will evaluate you for $ 4.
- 31:14Speaker 1: 99. Now, Lance Shannon's argument was, the best we could
- 31:18Speaker 1: do is evaluate like 6,000 players.
- 31:19Speaker 4: So, There's 1.4 million, so you do the math. A
- 31:23Speaker 4: bunch are going to get left out. So if you'll
- 31:26Speaker 4: pay us, we'll do it.
- 31:27Speaker 2: And I assume one of them, Lance, was Trinidad Chambliss.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I don't know if he had a rival or an
- 31:31Speaker 2: on-three star rating, but he was at freaking Ferris State.
- 31:34Speaker 1: So if the Chambliss family.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Had had $ 499, maybe he wouldn't have spent four years
- 31:40Speaker 2: at Ferris State.
- 31:41Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. I don't know where I fall on this.
- 31:45Speaker 3: I mean, I understand, like, you've only got so much bandwidth.
- 31:48Speaker 3: And if they've got to use their resources to go
- 31:51Speaker 3: out and evaluate these kids, it's going to cost them money.
- 31:54Speaker 3: So I kind of get it from that angle, and
- 31:56Speaker 3: I kind of get my people. The look isn't the best,
- 32:01Speaker 3: but I kind of see where he's coming from, though.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but at $ 499 a head, I can hire a
- 32:06Speaker 1: new scout, right? Well, I'm sure that's part of the plan.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I mean, I could get a new scout to find
- 32:13Speaker 2: a diamond in the rough. I just thought that was interesting.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Okay, let's do Lance's. Headlines here. Tell us, Lance.
- 32:19Speaker 3: We are going to go to Knoxville. Big game there.
- 32:22Speaker 3: If you guys heard about it, Texas, Tennessee tomorrow. The
- 32:25Speaker 3: Longhorn latest phased and confused. Arch bad, but Brandon worse.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Horns win ugly. You see Sark there. Thing I like
- 32:37Speaker 3: about them high school girls, I get older and older.
- 32:40Speaker 1: They stay the same age.
- 32:44Speaker 3: And then Tyler came up with this one on his own.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I love it.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Tell us about Tuberville, Tyler.
- 32:48Speaker 7: So Tuberville wins best in show at the Furry Takeover
- 32:53Speaker 7: 2026 after accidentally boarding the wrong flight.
- 32:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:59Speaker 3: He's going to mullet out for a reason.
- 33:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I would tell you, how can I say this nicely?
- 33:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I'll just put it this way. Coach Tuberville did not
- 33:12Speaker 2: graduate from Auburn where they graduate a lot better out
- 33:16Speaker 2: loud readers. Him reading on the floor the other day,
- 33:19Speaker 2: this bill, when he was discussing this, it was not a,
- 33:23Speaker 2: it was, it was.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It's hard to read his finger to read. It may
- 33:30Speaker 1: have helped. It may have helped.
- 33:31Speaker 3: He should have got Nick Cage to show up as
- 33:34Speaker 3: John Madden and read for him.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I love football. I don't like furries, but I love football.
- 33:43Speaker 2: The furry thing. Listen, I don't care what you do.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Just don't come on the plane drunk, man. I would
- 33:50Speaker 2: rather have.
- 33:50Speaker 1: A non-furry pilot land than a non-furry pilot. No, a
- 33:55Speaker 1: furry pilot land than a non-furry pilot crash. Oh, yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I'd rather have a sober furry pilot than I would
- 34:01Speaker 2: a drunk non-furry.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Yes. I mean, I don't care if you've got a
- 34:04Speaker 1: bear costume in your carrier.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Ultimately, Lance, ultimately, ultimately, Lance, the one thing I want
- 34:09Speaker 4: a pilot to have is ability to land.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Right? I mean, that's my starting point. And clarity. I
- 34:13Speaker 1: want you to be a good pilot.
- 34:14Speaker 3: You know, I saw the movie Flight with Denzel, and
- 34:17Speaker 3: it was semi-based on a situation now. the plane landed
- 34:21Speaker 3: in the Pacific ocean, everybody died. So they're going to
- 34:23Speaker 3: Hollywood it up a little bit, but I didn't fly
- 34:25Speaker 3: for nine months after that.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, flight attendance, attendance. I, I, I mean,
- 34:35Speaker 2: we all have imagined things that some of them have
- 34:37Speaker 2: done over the years. I mean, going to a furry festival.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yeah. It's pretty minor, pretty minor, whatever. Yeah. So, That's
- 34:44Speaker 1: a funny headline, though, especially when he's dressed in Aubrey.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I like that one. Brownie, give us your headline. All right.
- 34:49Speaker 4: My headline is from the Yale leader in College Station, Texas.
- 34:52Speaker 4: After a win at LSU, Texas A & M coach
- 34:54Speaker 4: Mike Elko asked if he can also have a purple
- 34:56Speaker 4: Taco Bell card. He wants the Devontae Adams Kevin Hart treatment.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Why not? they would probably be hesitant to give this one.
- 35:05Speaker 1: What do you think he could do with a purple
- 35:07Speaker 1: Taco Bell card?
- 35:07Speaker 3: I mean, Kevin Hart, like, you know, one burrito, he'd
- 35:10Speaker 3: probably have to cut it up three times, three different
- 35:12Speaker 3: meals for Kevin Hart. It's like feeding a bird, but Elko, man.
- 35:17Speaker 1: But I've already got the Elko commercial plan.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Elko would be, hey, Coach Mike Elko, Texas A & M,
- 35:24Speaker 2: you've heard about the fourth meal.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I'm here to tell you about the fifth meal. Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Five through seven.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Page two, while President Trump visits Texas-Tennessee game, Senator Mitch
- 35:35Speaker 4: McConnell visits Iowa-Michigan.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Can you just see him smiling?
- 35:40Speaker 2: He would be the only one smiling at that game.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Don't expect a lot of offense in that one.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Don't expect a lot of offense. I do have a
- 35:48Speaker 3: side on that game I do like a lot. I
- 35:51Speaker 3: told you guys I was only giving up 4.3 points
- 35:54Speaker 3: per game and only allowing 176 yards. I got tortured
- 35:59Speaker 3: watching Iowa early on this year. The quarterback play is
- 36:03Speaker 3: absolutely abysmal. You guys have heard this before.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Brown thinks you're picking Iowa. I think you're picking Michigan.
- 36:12Speaker 2: You have to go to lanceslog.com to find out what
- 36:14Speaker 2: he's really picking.
- 36:15Speaker 1: That's right.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But Brown thinks he has you read that you're picking
- 36:19Speaker 2: Iowa because he's got Iowa in the upset alert. He
- 36:22Speaker 2: just did the old Statue of Liberty. He just did
- 36:25Speaker 2: this right here.
- 36:27Speaker 1: He got it right.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I think you're telling me you're picking Michigan. So LanceIsLocked.com
- 36:31Speaker 2: to go find out really who Lance is picking.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Is one of us right? One of us is right.
- 36:35Speaker 3: One of you guys is spot on.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:39Speaker 4: And on page three, designers admit the one task AI
- 36:42Speaker 4: had no answer for. Creating a good Oklahoma offense.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Just can't do it. Sorry, guys. AI can only do
- 36:47Speaker 1: so much.
- 36:48Speaker 2: You can't spell Arbuckle without AI, can you?
- 36:51Speaker 1: There's no I in there.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah. That's our headlines going into a big college football weekend.
- 36:57Speaker 2: There was baseball clinching yesterday. We had four teams that clinched.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Padres clinched. The Cubs clinched. Cleveland clinched. And our boy
- 37:07Speaker 2: on the back row, from a couple of years of
- 37:10Speaker 2: 100 losses... Scott Forrester, Chicago White Sox. By the way,
- 37:14Speaker 2: a set of twins just walked by, college twins. You
- 37:16Speaker 2: rarely see that. They chose Auburn together. And the Chicago
- 37:20Speaker 2: White Sox just clinched.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Talking about the Minnesota Twins. How do they factor into this?
- 37:24Speaker 2: No, two blonde-haired college students that were identical twins walking by,
- 37:29Speaker 2: coming from a hot yoga class.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Within 60 seconds, Dunaway's like, we've all wondered what stewardess do.
- 37:40Speaker 1: It's a Friday, man. And the White Sox are in love, man.
- 37:44Speaker 1: They're in the playoffs. Tell us about your White Sox, Forrester.
- 37:47Speaker 1: All right.
- 37:47Speaker 8: Well, you know, I may be a little biased. I'm
- 37:50Speaker 8: definitely a little biased here. But best story in baseball.
- 37:54Speaker 8: They won 41 games two years ago. The worst team
- 37:59Speaker 8: in the history.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Of Major League Baseball two years ago. They've lost. They
- 38:04Speaker 5: had lost.
- 38:04Speaker 8: 100 games in a row, three years in a row.
- 38:08Speaker 8: Nobody had made the playoffs after doing it twice in
- 38:11Speaker 8: a row.
- 38:13Speaker 5: They're in the playoffs.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Unbelievable. Yeah, congratulations.
- 38:16Speaker 3: It is a great story.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Agreed.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Lance says that as if you don't think they can
- 38:22Speaker 1: do anything in the playoffs.
- 38:23Speaker 5: I don't think they can do anything either. I mean,
- 38:25Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 38:25Speaker 3: I mean, you go back to the Braves in 21,
- 38:27Speaker 3: what the Braves were the 12th seed coming in and
- 38:30Speaker 3: They ended up winning it. Baseball is a weird sport.
- 38:33Speaker 3: I seriously doubt they will win it, but it would
- 38:35Speaker 3: be an incredible story.
- 38:36Speaker 8: Hey, so I've brought this up before when I think,
- 38:39Speaker 8: I want to say the Tigers did this, but so
- 38:42Speaker 8: the Royals or the White Sox clinched with a win
- 38:45Speaker 8: at the Royals place yesterday, and the Royals put congratulations
- 38:50Speaker 8: to the White Sox on their scoreboard.
- 38:52Speaker 5: You know, maybe I'm just too petty for this, but,
- 38:56Speaker 5: you know, I wouldn't like this.
- 38:59Speaker 2: No, I would never hold my hand. I don't think
- 39:03Speaker 2: the Yankees did it for Tampa Bay the other night.
- 39:05Speaker 1: No, I wouldn't.
- 39:06Speaker 5: I highly doubt it.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 39:08Speaker 2: What's the first thing that the– have you ever been
- 39:11Speaker 2: to a high school football game?
- 39:12Speaker 1: If the home team wins, they leave the scoreboard up.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Oh, you shut that thing off.
- 39:15Speaker 1: If you're the home team and you lose, you shut
- 39:17Speaker 1: that thing off immediately. They do it at college. I
- 39:21Speaker 1: know they do it here at Auburn. If Auburn loses,
- 39:23Speaker 1: that scoreboard's off quick. Yeah, you don't want that photo,
- 39:25Speaker 1: do you?
- 39:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:25Speaker 1: It's off quick. But props to the Royals.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Classy move. I guess.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I mean, I guess. I wouldn't want my team.
- 39:32Speaker 4: I like if the Dolphins and God knows the Bills
- 39:35Speaker 4: and the Patriots have clinched stuff on our field.
- 39:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't want that. Don't congratulate them.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Baseball playoffs start on next week.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Next Tuesday, I think. Monday or Tuesday.
- 39:46Speaker 2: So we're to that part of the year where we'll
- 39:48Speaker 2: start getting the the wraparound of football blended in with
- 39:52Speaker 2: post-season baseball, which is always one of my favorite.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Times of the year. All right.
- 39:57Speaker 2: All knee deep in college football. When we come back,
- 39:59Speaker 2: this is the next round brought to you by hard

- 40:25Speaker 2: the show, we'll talk about Jordan-Hare Stadium and what it
- 40:28Speaker 2: means for Auburn football.
- 40:29Speaker 1: That's coming up in the next round.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Portion of the show thanks for following us on all

- 41:40Speaker 2: Before we get into the college football, can I ask
- 41:42Speaker 2: a stupid question? And maybe you guys know the answer
- 41:44Speaker 2: to this. Bussing with the Boys, the popular podcast.
- 41:48Speaker 7: They're out on their own now.
- 41:49Speaker 1: You see them on ESPN. Their little bus-like studio, is
- 41:54Speaker 1: it a school bus? I really couldn't tell you.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I would seriously doubt it is a school bus. I
- 41:59Speaker 3: think it's just made up to look like a school bus.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks really good.
- 42:03Speaker 2: I was just thinking, Lance, because we go on these
- 42:05Speaker 2: road shows, which I absolutely love, but we packed up.
- 42:08Speaker 2: We were on the road at 6 this morning to
- 42:10Speaker 2: come down here to Auburn. We get here, and right
- 42:13Speaker 2: when the show is ending, the The town is really
- 42:16Speaker 2: starting to buzz for a weekend. You know, I would
- 42:19Speaker 2: love for us to have like a bus.
- 42:21Speaker 5: A school bus?
- 42:22Speaker 1: Like a Madden Bruiser? But a big RV.
- 42:24Speaker 2: A big RV.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I just looked it up.
- 42:30Speaker 7: They customized a 1974 Bluebird school bus to use as
- 42:35Speaker 7: their studio.
- 42:36Speaker 1: So we all doubted it.
- 42:39Speaker 7: They bought it for $ 10, 000 and then converted it.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it looked legit because it had that
- 42:44Speaker 2: little handle. Remember that hard handle they had, that silver
- 42:48Speaker 2: one you had to open the door and shut the door?
- 42:50Speaker 1: Yeah, when you got to a railroad track and everybody
- 42:52Speaker 1: had to get quiet. Yeah. Anyway, maybe in the future,
- 42:56Speaker 1: maybe the 2027 season, we can think about for these
- 43:00Speaker 1: road shows, having an RV all weekend long. That would
- 43:02Speaker 1: be a lot of fun to hang out in. You
- 43:03Speaker 1: went from a bus to an RV now. Well, I
- 43:05Speaker 1: don't know. When you said bus, you went with one
- 43:07Speaker 1: of those tour buses? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
- 43:10Speaker 5: It would be a lot of fun.
- 43:11Speaker 2: All right, let's talk football now, Lance and Brownie. We
- 43:14Speaker 2: got four ranked matchups in the SEC this weekend. And
- 43:19Speaker 2: I brought this up loosely yesterday, but I want to
- 43:24Speaker 2: get reaction now because we didn't really get into it.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Texas number one, Tennessee 14. By the way, Hollywood smothers
- 43:30Speaker 2: some issues on whether or not how healthy he is,
- 43:33Speaker 2: how much he'll play in this game, if he'll play
- 43:34Speaker 2: in this game. But I want to ask, loser of
- 43:37Speaker 2: these games, what's left for them the rest of the season?
- 43:41Speaker 2: What does a loss in these ranked SEC games mean
- 43:44Speaker 2: for them? So let's go Texas number one loss for them. Lance,
- 43:49Speaker 2: start us off here. What does a loss this weekend
- 43:53Speaker 2: mean for you for the Texas Longhorns?
- 43:55Speaker 3: A loss for Texas, well, it would mean more on
- 43:59Speaker 3: the Tennessee side. With that said, Texas gets a little
- 44:03Speaker 3: bit of a pass because they were able to come
- 44:04Speaker 3: back in that fourth quarter. Now imagine if they wouldn't
- 44:08Speaker 3: have beaten Ohio State, and now they absorb loss number
- 44:11Speaker 3: two before we even hit the month of October. So
- 44:13Speaker 3: I think they can take on a loss here, and
- 44:15Speaker 3: they're still going to be okay. But the thing that
- 44:18Speaker 3: would bother me is how bad they were on the
- 44:20Speaker 3: road last year with Arch and with Sark. And if
- 44:23Speaker 3: that continues in road challenge number one of the 2026
- 44:28Speaker 3: season against a true freshman quarterback, that's a problem.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Yeah, see, I'm with Lance.
- 44:34Speaker 4: I think a loss for Texas, aside from college football
- 44:37Speaker 4: playoff implications or SEC championship implications, you've got a road
- 44:41Speaker 4: problem if you can't win this one. Because, I mean, again,
- 44:44Speaker 4: I'll give credit to Conor O'Gara. for the first one
- 44:47Speaker 4: I saw throwing the stat out that Arch Manning has
- 44:49Speaker 4: two overtime road wins. He has not won a game
- 44:52Speaker 4: in regulation on the road, and if you lose this one, Lance,
- 44:54Speaker 4: it would just seem like now you're starting to stack
- 44:57Speaker 4: these road losses, and you've got to play more road games.
- 45:00Speaker 4: I mean, you've got a road problem at that point.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Well, and that was Kentucky and Mississippi State. And I
- 45:06Speaker 3: heard a stat this morning, and I didn't grab the
- 45:09Speaker 3: entire thing, but It was just basically, Sark is awful
- 45:13Speaker 3: against the number on the road.
- 45:15Speaker 1: True road games at Texas. Awful against the number? Yeah,
- 45:20Speaker 1: against the spread. Yeah, and this number is, where is
- 45:23Speaker 1: it right now? Four, four and a half? Four and
- 45:24Speaker 1: a half.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Texas, four and a half. And a total of 56
- 45:27Speaker 3: and a half.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Eesh.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Todd Furman coming up at the top of the hour
- 45:31Speaker 2: to talk more numbers with Lance.
- 45:33Speaker 1: He'll join us from Las Vegas. I did want to.
- 45:36Speaker 1: You mentioned a great point.
- 45:37Speaker 2: A Texas loss means Tennessee's actually beaten the number one
- 45:40Speaker 2: team in the country.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Oh, it's huge for Tennessee.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Walt's in deep, knee-deep into the college football playoff race.
- 45:45Speaker 2: What does a loss for Tennessee do for you, Lance?
- 45:48Speaker 3: A loss for Tennessee, I guess, is somewhat expected, although
- 45:52Speaker 3: this fan base is going nuts. We talked about the
- 45:54Speaker 3: ticket prices. You know, get-ins are $ 350 plus. Really good
- 45:57Speaker 3: tickets are $ 1, 000 plus. A loss for Tennessee, it depends.
- 46:04Speaker 3: If they're really competitive, if it comes down, you know,
- 46:07Speaker 3: Clay brought this up on our show yesterday, how Tennessee
- 46:10Speaker 3: should have beaten Georgia. They missed that late kick. They
- 46:13Speaker 3: did kind of spiral after that. But I do think
- 46:16Speaker 3: if they were to lose to Texas with all of
- 46:18Speaker 3: this buzz, if it was a really, really tight game
- 46:21Speaker 3: with a freshman quarterback, I think you could build on that.
- 46:25Speaker 4: I mean, I think Tennessee can reach at least everything
- 46:28Speaker 4: I thought they could reach if they lose this game.
- 46:30Speaker 4: I did not consider Tennessee... a real playoff contender. I mean,
- 46:33Speaker 4: they were a fringe, fringe, fringe playoff contender. So if
- 46:36Speaker 4: you lose this game, I don't think you've lost anything
- 46:39Speaker 4: for Tennessee that you were going to reach. And I mean,
- 46:42Speaker 4: with a true freshman quarterback, and even though true freshmen
- 46:45Speaker 4: aren't what they used to be, did you think this
- 46:47Speaker 4: team was going to run through and make the.
- 46:48Speaker 1: College football playoffs? I did not.
- 46:50Speaker 4: But I mean, if it's a close loss, like if
- 46:52Speaker 4: you're right in the game at the very end, I
- 46:54Speaker 4: think you leave this game as a Tennessee fan thinking,
- 46:57Speaker 4: We've got our quarterback, and the future's bright.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Heupel's biggest win at Tennessee to date still is.
- 47:03Speaker 1: 2022 over Alabama.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Would this one pass it if Tennessee beats number one Texas?
- 47:08Speaker 2: Would that surpass that 2022 win, ending the losing streak
- 47:13Speaker 2: to rival Alabama?
- 47:14Speaker 3: I don't think it would. At that point, we penciled
- 47:17Speaker 3: Tennessee in the college football playoff. It didn't happen because
- 47:20Speaker 3: they fell apart against, I guess, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, both
- 47:23Speaker 3: won two. I forgot, but That was a really, really
- 47:26Speaker 3: good Tennessee team and the streak that was going on
- 47:29Speaker 3: behind it. I mean, you saw the overflow. You were
- 47:31Speaker 3: up there on the field. We all watched it. That
- 47:34Speaker 3: was an incredible moment. What it would do for Tennessee, though,
- 47:37Speaker 3: is I think it puts them in the top 10.
- 47:39Speaker 3: And if you would have told me going into October,
- 47:41Speaker 3: Tennessee was a top 10 team with Faison Brandon starting quarterback,
- 47:45Speaker 3: I would have been blown away.
- 47:46Speaker 4: I mean, Lance, if they win this game, you do
- 47:48Speaker 4: have to start looking at that schedule and saying, all right, 10-2,
- 47:51Speaker 4: get some in. Where do I find more than two
- 47:53Speaker 4: losses if I'm going to knock Tennessee out of this thing?
- 47:56Speaker 3: So after this, they host Auburn next week. Then they
- 47:59Speaker 3: go to Arkansas. I mean, if you're beating Texas, I'm
- 48:02Speaker 3: going to go on and say those are wins.
- 48:03Speaker 1: 6-0.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Then you've got Alabama coming into town. You've had two
- 48:07Speaker 3: of the last three years you've beaten Alabama. At South Carolina,
- 48:11Speaker 3: let's just say Bama's a loss. At South Carolina, win.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Kentucky and Neyland, a win. At A & M, that
- 48:18Speaker 3: looks a little different now. and LSU, and then at Vanderbilt.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I mean, yeah. If they win this one, you can
- 48:26Speaker 1: say that's a playoff.
- 48:27Speaker 4: If you can beat Texas, if you're good enough to
- 48:29Speaker 4: beat Texas, you start looking at the rest of that
- 48:31Speaker 4: schedule and saying, where do I find more than two losses?
- 48:34Speaker 3: I'm in at 10-2. The young kids won't remember this.
- 48:36Speaker 3: We all remember a day the winner of Tennessee and
- 48:39Speaker 3: Florida played for the SEC championship. More than likely, they
- 48:42Speaker 3: were playing for a national championship. Can you imagine if
- 48:45Speaker 3: Tennessee and Florida both win tomorrow, both are 4-0, Florida's
- 48:49Speaker 3: going to be close to the top 10. Tennessee's probably
- 48:52Speaker 3: going to be in the top 10, which would just
- 48:53Speaker 3: be really amazing.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Yeah, except for the fact that they don't play.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Sadly, we don't have that great rivalry game from the 90s.
- 49:01Speaker 3: And we're guaranteed somebody out of Starkville this weekend, whether
- 49:04Speaker 3: it's Missouri or Mississippi State, one of those two is
- 49:07Speaker 3: going to go to 4-0, and they're going to be
- 49:08Speaker 3: in the top 15.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Missouri, Mississippi State quickly here, so we get to Furman
- 49:14Speaker 2: here in about five minutes. Mississippi State playing host to Missouri,
- 49:18Speaker 2: both ranked, both at the bottom end of the top 25.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Loser of that game, what does it mean?
- 49:23Speaker 3: The loser of this game, I think if you're Missouri,
- 49:27Speaker 3: if you're If you're Mississippi State, you can still build
- 49:29Speaker 3: on this. I think Missouri fans are going to be like, damn,
- 49:31Speaker 3: when are we going to get over this hump? I
- 49:33Speaker 3: know it's a ranked team. I know it's on the road,
- 49:35Speaker 3: but it still is Mississippi State. When you look at
- 49:37Speaker 3: Mississippi State, Jeff Levy is 2-15 in the SEC. I can't,
- 49:45Speaker 3: I mean, it's hard to say who this game is
- 49:47Speaker 3: more important to because I still don't take either one
- 49:50Speaker 3: of these seriously, even with a win as a playoff contender. Now,
- 49:54Speaker 3: If Mississippi State was to win this and Camario goes
- 49:56Speaker 3: for 400 total yards and five touchdowns and he just
- 50:00Speaker 3: looks even better than he looked on the road last week,
- 50:03Speaker 3: then this is becoming a massive story. And I think
- 50:06Speaker 3: one player like that, we've seen it before, can create
- 50:09Speaker 3: special seasons. So I think it would be a bigger
- 50:11Speaker 3: talking point if Mississippi State wins this.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I think if you're Mississippi State, Lance, here would
- 50:17Speaker 4: be my concern. If you lose this game, you started
- 50:19Speaker 4: 3-0 last year. And then you just never could find
- 50:22Speaker 4: that next important win after that, right? You lost to
- 50:25Speaker 4: Tennessee at home. You lost to Texas in overtime at home.
- 50:28Speaker 4: And if you lose this one, all of a sudden,
- 50:30Speaker 4: you know, is that in the back of your mind?
- 50:31Speaker 1: Here we go again. And, oh, by the way, who
- 50:33Speaker 1: comes to town next week but Alabama. So, I mean,
- 50:37Speaker 1: it makes that Alabama game even more critical to keep
- 50:40Speaker 1: that forward momentum. You know what I'm saying?
- 50:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't even know how realistic this is, Dunaway. Like,
- 50:45Speaker 3: if you beat Missouri, which you're a touchdown favorite right here,
- 50:49Speaker 3: you're probably going to be, regardless of how this plays out,
- 50:51Speaker 3: Alabama's going to be right at a touchdown favorite. But
- 50:54Speaker 3: after Alabama, you've got to go to LSU, you host Oklahoma,
- 50:57Speaker 3: you've got to go to Texas. That's all in a row,
- 50:59Speaker 3: those four games. So even if they were to win
- 51:02Speaker 3: one of those three or one of those four and
- 51:05Speaker 3: they start off the season at 5-3, that to me
- 51:09Speaker 3: would be a huge step in the right direction.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Missouri, though, I think fans, they've been so close, I
- 51:16Speaker 2: think they are thinking playoffs. And for Mississippi State, It's
- 51:19Speaker 2: more about being legitimate, you know, good bowl contenders. Quickly,
- 51:24Speaker 2: the A & M LSU loser, both with already losses. Brandon,
- 51:28Speaker 2: go first here. A & M LSU loser is?
- 51:30Speaker 1: Well, your loser is out of the playoffs.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Lance, I don't know that there's a legitimate recoverable road
- 51:36Speaker 4: for either one of these teams with what they have
- 51:38Speaker 4: left if they are already saddled with two conference losses
- 51:41Speaker 4: and we haven't even entered October.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think for A & M, I think
- 51:45Speaker 3: Elko right now, he was asked point blank about Marcel Reed.
- 51:49Speaker 3: If they lose this game and they lose it going away,
- 51:52Speaker 3: Reed probably struggles again on the road. At that point,
- 51:56Speaker 3: you're starting to think if you're Elko, well, I might
- 51:58Speaker 3: have a quarterback problem.
- 52:00Speaker 1: You'll also take.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Into account that 10 guys on the roster that got
- 52:03Speaker 3: you to a college football playoff last year are playing
- 52:05Speaker 3: on Sundays now.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it is.
- 52:10Speaker 4: If you lose this for either one, I think, I mean,
- 52:13Speaker 4: I just don't know how you can make a case
- 52:15Speaker 4: for going to the playoffs.
- 52:16Speaker 3: I was going to say, I don't see LSU losing
- 52:19Speaker 3: this game. This would be a much bigger story, I believe,
- 52:22Speaker 3: if LSU is now a nine and a half point
- 52:24Speaker 3: favorite was to lose this game.
- 52:26Speaker 1: I would agree with that. The last one is Ole
- 52:28Speaker 1: Miss at Florida for the loser of this game.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Does it really matter? Both of them are going to
- 52:35Speaker 2: be perceived playoff contenders. Obviously, it's probably bigger lands for
- 52:38Speaker 2: Ole Miss, right?
- 52:39Speaker 3: Well, the way I see this, if Florida wins it,
- 52:41Speaker 3: and we talked about it yesterday, then all of a
- 52:43Speaker 3: sudden you're like, damn, this is probably a 10-2 team,
- 52:46Speaker 3: and they're going to the college football playoff in year
- 52:48Speaker 3: one under John Sumrall. On the other side, if Ole
- 52:51Speaker 3: Miss is able to come down from maybe the biggest
- 52:54Speaker 3: win in their regular season history, and they're able to
- 52:57Speaker 3: go on the road as a three-and-a-half point dog and
- 52:59Speaker 3: win this, I think we need to start talking about
- 53:01Speaker 3: Ole Miss winning a national championship possibly.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Wow. Yeah.
- 53:05Speaker 1: How about that conversation? We haven't had that one in
- 53:07Speaker 1: a while, have we? Until the playoffs, before the playoffs
- 53:10Speaker 1: last year. But you guys would get me.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I mean, if you're able to knock off LSU with
- 53:14Speaker 3: all of that pressure and all of that hype, and
- 53:16Speaker 3: then you're able to come down, go on the road
- 53:18Speaker 3: to a Florida team that is just crushing it offensively
- 53:21Speaker 3: and win that game, that would tell me a lot
- 53:23Speaker 3: internally what's going on with Pete Golding and those guys.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Outside of the SEC, equally big, Oregon and USC, and
- 53:30Speaker 2: to some degree, Iowa and Michigan as well, in a
- 53:34Speaker 2: huge day of college football. We'll talk about that with
- 53:37Speaker 2: Todd Furman coming up on the other side. Lance and
- 53:39Speaker 2: him will have a great little conversation. By the way,
- 53:43Speaker 2: the turnaround at West Virginia continues so far. Rich Rod's
- 53:48Speaker 2: zone read offense. Has Michael Hawkins, the top-rated quarterback when
- 53:54Speaker 2: it comes to QBR in college.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Football, was it Oklahoma? And they don't have him anymore there.
- 54:05Speaker 1: They've got John Mateer.
- 54:06Speaker 2: They thought they were getting something else, and they haven't
- 54:09Speaker 2: gotten the guy they thought they were getting. All right,
- 54:11Speaker 2: when we come back, live from Auburn, It's LT and
- 54:15Speaker 2: Todd Furman talking a little point spreads about the big
- 54:18Speaker 2: college football weekend. This is the next round presented by
- 54:22Speaker 2: Hard Rock Bet right here on Sporting State.
