Whitley County is hitting full throttle for America’s 250th birthday with events stretching into 2027, kicking off with Commissioner Rob Schuman’s official proclamation urging community engagement through history and celebration. Tonight, downtown Columbia City hosts a free “Stars, Stripes and Symphony” concert featuring the Whitko Marching Band and a Declaration reading. Friday, South Whitley offers live music, food trucks, and fireworks. Wednesday, July 8, Churubusco joins nationwide Declaration readings.
