- 1:32Hello, and thank you for joining us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 1:36We're going to be reading a lengthy passage of Scripture today.
- 1:40It's in 1 Kings 17, beginning in verse 1 and concluding in verse 16.
- 1:46So let's pray while you are finding your Bible to be able to follow along.
- 1:52Our kind and most gracious to heavenly Father, Lord, I thank you for your word.
- 1:56I thank you for the blessings that it gives us. I thank you for your instruction and your teaching.
- 2:03Lord, I thank you that you love us and that in you we are completely protected.
- 2:11I pray, Lord, that you would help each of us to find full satisfaction living
- 2:16in the center of your will i pray lord that you would open our heart and our minds to understand,
- 2:22that you are more than enough. Lord, we love you, we praise you,
- 2:26and we invite you into this message.
- 2:29We pray that you would remove me, and that the words that are spoken would be
- 2:33those that you have given directly.
- 2:36And in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
- 2:401 Kings 17, beginning in verse 1, reads like this,
- 2:45And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead,
- 2:49said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth before whom I stand,
- 2:55there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
- 2:59And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Get thee hence,
- 3:03and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook of Cherith,
- 3:08that it is before Jordan.
- 3:10And it shall be that thou shalt drink of the brook, and I have commanded the
- 3:14ravens to feed thee there.
- 3:16So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and dwelt
- 3:21by the brook of Cherus that is before Jordan.
- 3:24And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and flesh
- 3:29in the evening, and he drank of the brook.
- 3:31And it came to pass after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
- 3:37And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Arise, get to the Zarephath,
- 3:42which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there.
- 3:45Behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
- 3:49So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city,
- 3:53behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks.
- 3:57And he called to her and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel
- 4:03that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her and said,
- 4:08Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
- 4:12And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake,
- 4:17but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruise.
- 4:21And behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me
- 4:26and my son, that we may eat it and die.
- 4:31And Elijah said unto her, Fear not, go and do as thou hast said,
- 4:36but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me,
- 4:41and after make for thee and for thy son.
- 4:44For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste,
- 4:48neither shall the cruise of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
- 4:54And she went and did according to
- 4:57the saying of Elijah and she and he
- 5:00and her house did eat many days and the
- 5:03barrel of meal wasted not neither did the cruise of oil fail according to the
- 5:10word of the Lord which he spake by Elijah this my friend is an account of God's providential care Hmm.
- 5:22Man's obedience to follow the direction of God and the miracles that happen
- 5:28when you walk in the center of God's will.
- 5:33You've got to find yourself where God wants you to be.
- 5:39Psalms 37, 23 says, the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
- 5:43and he, God, delights in his way.
- 5:48The Lord establishes and directs and delights in the ways of those who follow him.
- 5:56Now, let's look for just a minute of what I'm talking about.
- 6:00Elijah was told to go sit by a brook, and there he would be fed by ravens.
- 6:09And the scripture says that he did exactly what God said.
- 6:17Now, I don't know about you, but hanging out by a brook and getting my water
- 6:22and getting my food doesn't seem to me to be top on my list.
- 6:29But nowhere in this account of Elijah do we see Elijah pushing back on what God's asking him to do.
- 6:37That couldn't have been his first assignment he wanted.
- 6:43That couldn't have been his first choice.
- 6:46But all it says is that he talks to him. And so in verse 5, he says,
- 6:52so he went and did according to the word of the Lord.
- 6:55He dwelt by the brook, and the raven fed him.
- 6:59What kind of faith does that take?
- 7:04For the god to say, go, and you go, and he's even told you that where you're
- 7:10going and what you're going to do isn't going to be gone.
- 7:15Exactly perhaps what you would want there's something
- 7:19about elijah in this passage that we
- 7:22as children of god have got to begin to understand elijah
- 7:27was not depending upon the comforts of this world to make what god said do correct
- 7:34elijah wasn't weighing what god said as to whether or not he wanted to do it
- 7:41as to whether or not he would obey.
- 7:43The fact that God said do it was what led Elijah to do it.
- 7:51And deep within Elijah was a solid faith that understood God will provide all that you need.
- 7:58So when he asked him to get up and go, Elijah was willing to get up and go because
- 8:04he understood that when he got up and went,
- 8:07whatever he needed would be there elijah was living a life that you and i should
- 8:14live and elijah wasn't reading philippians 4 19 which says but god shall supply
- 8:21all of my needs according to his riches in glory.
- 8:25Elijah wasn't reading Philippians 13, chapter 4, that said, I can do all things
- 8:31through Christ, which strengthens me.
- 8:34Elijah was living his life based on a relationship that Elijah had with God.
- 8:41And it didn't happen the moment that Elijah was told to go by the brook of Cherus
- 8:47and be fed by the ravens and drink of the river.
- 8:51Elijah's relationship with God was a day in and day out, moment by moment,
- 8:57full on faith that God was more than enough.
- 9:03Elijah understood that he was serving God, not himself.
- 9:09He understood that what he needed was to be where God would have him to be because
- 9:17God will provide all you need.
- 9:20In Exodus chapter 16, we see that the Israelites have been fed manna for 40
- 9:28years until they reached the land of Canaan.
- 9:33They were starving in the desert, and God provided bread from heaven.
- 9:39This was a promise he made to the people of Israel.
- 9:43And this substance that came from the heavens and appeared on the ground was
- 9:50called manna, which is a Hebrew word that means, what is it?
- 9:55Now, many of us will look at our food, and if it's not pleasing to look at, we don't eat it.
- 10:03Because we have a lot of choices, usually.
- 10:06And we don't have to eat the things we don't want. And we seem to think that's how it is with God.
- 10:13God gives us gifts that are specifically for us, and God asks us to use them
- 10:18specifically for what he wants them to be used for.
- 10:22But we pick and choose what we're going to do with those gifts.
- 10:26We don't like that calling, but we want this calling.
- 10:29And so we go in a land that is not meant for us to be in.
- 10:34We try to work in a realm of blessing that isn't ours.
- 10:40And we don't bring honor to the Lord or work those things out for our good.
- 10:47Manna was the chosen meal for the Israelites.
- 10:52And God instructed Moses and the people to gather enough manna for each day
- 10:58with a special collection on the sixth day that would get them through sixth and seventh.
- 11:04God was giving them what they needed, when they needed, how they needed it.
- 11:10And he was doing what was best for the Israelites.
- 11:15Now, you can be sure that they complained and they murmured and they griped.
- 11:21There was no other food in the desert for which they were wondering.
- 11:25But they didn't like what God had chosen for them.
- 11:29Unlike Elijah, who could not have been stoked to hear that God was going to feed him with ravens.
- 11:38The germ factor alone would have freaked me out.
- 11:43But there's no account of him resisting or pushing back.
- 11:48And if you know anything about Elijah, you know that he was a powerful man of God.
- 11:53And his power rested in his ability to follow and be obedient to the Lord without question.
- 12:03See, Ephesians 3.20 tells us, Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
- 12:08above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
- 12:13Elijah was a powerful man. and he could do amazing things.
- 12:20Part of this account in 1 Kings 17 that we most likely are not going to get to today,
- 12:27follows upon this amazing miracle we are going to get to, how God provides for
- 12:33the widow and for Elijah for an extended period of time.
- 12:38But the one we're not going to get to that follows that is that her son falls sick and is dead.
- 12:43And Elijah lays his body upon this son three times and brings him back to life
- 12:49according to the power that works in him.
- 12:51And again, that didn't happen on the day it was called for.
- 12:55His power flowed through him all the time because he was instant in season and out of season.
- 13:02He was constant and he was consistent. Elijah loved the Lord,
- 13:07and he believed him to be who he said he was,
- 13:10and he understood that God would provide all of his needs, and he fully grasped
- 13:15the understanding of 2 Corinthians 12, 9,
- 13:18which said that his grace is sufficient for thee.
- 13:23In 2 Corinthians 12, 9, we read, And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient
- 13:30in thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
- 13:34Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power
- 13:40of Christ may rest upon me.
- 13:42This had to be Elijah's mantra as well.
- 13:46The power of God was resting upon Elijah because Elijah was not concerned with himself.
- 13:53He was absolutely focused, and he was steadfast, and he was unmovable on doing
- 14:00what God told him to do. And when he told him to get up and move, Elijah moved.
- 14:07God is continually and habitually providing all that we need.
- 14:15We see it all throughout Scripture.
- 14:19We as children of God have got to understand who God is.
- 14:25He is the bread of life. He fed Elijah by the brook.
- 14:32He fed the Israelites.
- 14:35As they wandered in the wilderness. And my friend in John 6, 35,
- 14:42it reads, And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life, and he that cometh
- 14:48to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
- 14:56He will satisfy your deepest longings.
- 15:01He will satisfy your most primitive needs.
- 15:06He will satisfy you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet if
- 15:12you will only allow him to do so.
- 15:16He's the bread of life.
- 15:19Bread is the sustaining substance. When he is what we ingest and what we allow to fortify us,
- 15:29to allow to strengthen us when that
- 15:32is jesus christ we will then have life
- 15:35and have it more abundantly as he has promised in
- 15:38john 10 10 we will know that he provides all
- 15:41of our needs and if you're wondering if he's providing your
- 15:44need let me remind you that the bread of life has provided for you eternal salvation
- 15:52to those who believe before you were even born he had already secured a way
- 16:00for you to spend eternity in heaven with him.
- 16:03And he did it by breaking his own body, sacrificing his complete self for you.
- 16:13Jesus is in the business of providing all you need.
- 16:20He's always going to be there.
- 16:25As we begin to look at what God says in this passage of Scripture in 1 Kings
- 16:3317, let's look at the players.
- 16:38Let's look at the main characters that we see.
- 16:44We see Elijah. He's the first one that's mentioned.
- 16:48Elijah has spoken that there's coming a drought.
- 16:52So he's telling the people problems are coming.
- 16:57He no doubt was trying to get the people to do what they needed to do,
- 17:03which was trust and believe in the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
- 17:09He had prophesied there was coming a drought. And sure enough, there was.
- 17:17And so God moved him eastward to the brook. where he fed him with ravens.
- 17:25And then when that brook dries up, he tells Elijah, look, go to Zarephath.
- 17:35I've commanded a widow woman there to sustain.
- 17:40Now look, it takes faith to eat from a raven, but at least you're seeing it.
- 17:46You know he's doing it. But after moving to this brook, he's now being asked not to depend upon...
- 18:03Something that had to do what God said, the raven.
- 18:07But now he's got to depend on a woman with a free will that God says,
- 18:16go, I have commanded her.
- 18:20So the first thing we see about Elijah is he has the ability to hear God's voice.
- 18:27He has a strong history of obedience, and he's willing to follow directions.
- 18:35And beyond that, he has a boldness to execute God's plan.
- 18:42As you look at those characteristics of Elijah, is there a hint of conviction in your life?
- 18:51I know there is mine.
- 18:53I'm as human as the next.
- 18:56His call on my life doesn't always lead me to my first choice.
- 19:01It rarely makes any sense to me, and it always requires complete faith.
- 19:08But when I look at Elijah and I see the power of God that is in him and on him
- 19:14because of his obedience and his ability to hear God's voice,
- 19:19I'm strongly reminded that the reward is far greater than the cost.
- 19:27Without faith it is impossible.
- 19:31To please him and you must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them
- 19:38that diligently seek him you gotta believe in who god is you've gotta believe
- 19:47in what god can do you have to believe.
- 19:52You've got to be courageous in this walk with the Lord.
- 19:56You've got to be willing to do what he asks. That's Elijah.
- 20:03Let's get to know the widow woman a little better.
- 20:07In verse 9, we're told that God God has commanded her to sustain Elijah.
- 20:16So this leads us to believe God has spoken to her, and God knows she has heard
- 20:24him and that she's prepared to obey.
- 20:28This brings up another question for each of us.
- 20:34Are you prepared to obey?
- 20:38He tells us that daily we are to
- 20:41pick up our cross and deny ourselves and follow
- 20:44him clearly this is what elijah
- 20:48has done clearly in
- 20:51this account of scripture this is what the woman has done because she has no
- 20:58flour she has no oil enough to feed the three of them in fact She doesn't have
- 21:05anything to feed him right then.
- 21:09She says, I don't have that. I am going to fetch two sticks so that I can prepare
- 21:16something for my son and myself, and then we are going to die.
- 21:22But God had spoken to her. So in verse 13, well, excuse me, in verse 12,
- 21:32she said, as the Lord thy God liveth, I don't have that cake. I don't have anything.
- 21:37In verse 13, Elijah says to her, fear not. Fear not.
- 21:44She's in dire straits.
- 21:47She's clearly heard from God because the Lord says he commanded her.
- 21:51Now, we don't know when he commanded her, but he said it in past tense,
- 21:55so he had already commanded her when he sent Elijah.
- 21:59But we see the strength of her faith right here.
- 22:03We see how filled with faith she is and how she's able to deny herself and follow him.
- 22:11Because what we see from this
- 22:14widow is that when
- 22:17elijah says to her fear not go and
- 22:21do as thou has said but make me thereof a
- 22:24little cake first and bring it in unto me and after make for thee and for thy
- 22:30son for thus saith the lord god of israel the barrel of meal shall not waste
- 22:35neither shall the cruise of oil fail until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
- 22:41And verse 15 is key.
- 22:45It says, and she went and did, according to the saying of Elijah.
- 22:53None of this could have made sense to her.
- 22:56The law between a mother and their child is one like none other.
- 23:01She's looking at the bottom of the barrel.
- 23:06She's at the end of the rope. And here comes this hot shot from God saying, look, feed me first.
- 23:16Have you ever wondered why he asked her to feed him first?
- 23:21Because God is a jealous God. And he says, you'll not have many other gods in front of me.
- 23:27The sun couldn't be more important than God was to the woman.
- 23:32It's out of our first fruits we are to serve the Lord, our top of our energy, the first of our tithes.
- 23:42To serve him above all else and put him above all else.
- 23:47He has to be first in our life, and to feed the man of God before feeding her
- 23:53son or herself meant that God and his promise that he had commanded her was
- 23:58more important than the reality she was looking at in front of her.
- 24:04This is where faith, the substance of things unseated and the things hoped for,
- 24:11this is where faith becomes power because faith unlocks all of heaven's door,
- 24:20faith is the key that releases
- 24:23the power of god in your life it's what enables you to do exceeding abundantly
- 24:30above all that you could think according to his power that works in you it's
- 24:35when we go with reckless abandon in the name of the Lord and allow him to fight
- 24:41our battles just as David did.
- 24:43It is then that we begin to live in the center of his will, know the fullness of God.
- 24:54The joy of His presence. So she was filled with faith, and her faith caused
- 25:01her to act according to God's commandments.
- 25:07It's an interesting thing. People will tell you they love the Lord.
- 25:13They'll even speak good words, but their actions in their lives never show any
- 25:18fruit of the Spirit or any prioritization of God.
- 25:24True faith causes you to obey God because you truly believe His ways are higher
- 25:33than your ways. His thoughts are higher than your ways.
- 25:36His plans are better than yours. And because He is God and He is here in the
- 25:41present, He's there in the future, and he's still in the past.
- 25:45That same God who has all the information collected, who all things are under
- 25:52his feet, is the same God who is directing your paths.
- 25:58So when you have real faith, you can't imagine doing anything else except what God commands.
- 26:06Because you know that you know that you know nothing compares to the power of
- 26:12God, the love of God, the grace of God, and the knowledge of God.
- 26:20Faith is what caused the widow to obey.
- 26:26And faith is what caused Elijah to obey.
- 26:32And the real character in this story, the hero of the story, is God.
- 26:40God knew there was a famine coming He knew that because He knew that it wasn't
- 26:48going to rain except to the word,
- 26:52He knew how long Elijah was going to need to stay at the brook of Cherith,
- 26:58He had provided a way where there seemed to be no way just like He did for the
- 27:03Israelites for Elijah to go to a widow's house,
- 27:08and be sustained.
- 27:11And he knew the heart of the widow.
- 27:15Perhaps more importantly, the widow knew him.
- 27:18He is faithful. He's provided for both of these obedient servants and given them more than enough.
- 27:28He's all knowing of your needs before you even have them. He's the bread of
- 27:32life who provided salvation before you were born.
- 27:36And he has a plan for you.
- 27:39Will you be like Elijah and the widow woman?
- 27:44Without hesitation, without pushback,
- 27:49fully embracing the plan and will of God for your life, you got to wonder,
- 27:55what was so compelling that allowed them to live by faith?
- 28:05The answer is their relationship with God.
- 28:08I believe, because it doesn't say that he filled the barrel with flour and that
- 28:18he filled the cruise with oil.
- 28:21It says, and the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruise of oil fail,
- 28:29according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
- 28:32I believed every day the widow lived in faith that God is more than enough,
- 28:39that God would surely provide, that God was taking care of them,
- 28:45that God was in control.
- 28:48The widow woman and Elijah and her son lived every day by faith,
- 28:56and I believe it was the faith in Jesus Christ, the God of the universe,
- 29:00and the Holy Spirit that gave them the oil in their crews and the flour in their barrel,
- 29:09day by day by day.
- 29:12Why do I believe it was that way? Because he says, without faith,
- 29:17it is impossible to please him.
- 29:20And you must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
- 29:26And that is a day-by-day commitment. That is a day-by-day purposeful living
- 29:31that is a day-by-day determination to choose Jesus and to put him first.
- 29:37Do you do that? You're not saved every day, but I do believe he said,
- 29:43deny yourself and take up your cross and follow me daily.
- 29:48This experience of the widow woman and her son and Elijah of daily,
- 29:56depending on God for their sustenance, for their substance,
- 30:01for their existence, for their life, put them in the center of God's will and
- 30:06allowed them to live the abundant life.
- 30:10Believe me, think about the Israelites. They could only collect what they could
- 30:14eat that day except on the sixth day, and they could only collect what they
- 30:18could eat on the sixth and the seventh, because the seventh day was to be kept
- 30:22holy, and they went into work.
- 30:25It was a time to exalt the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
- 30:30and if they gathered more than they needed,
- 30:35It rotted and was not available because God says, I am what you need. I am more than enough.
- 30:41I am the Alpha. I am the Omega.
- 30:44I am the bread of life. I am what sustains you. I am God and there is none else.
- 30:50And he wants you to acknowledge that day by day by day.
- 30:57Do you know him? It is clear to me in the reading of God's word, oh, how Elijah knew him.
- 31:07The widow woman knew him. We don't have an account of whether or not the son knew him,
- 31:12but the son had to know of him and had to know what he could do,
- 31:16because I am sure that Elijah and the widow woman were constantly and consistently
- 31:22explaining God was providing.
- 31:26I don't know where he's telling you to go. I don't know what he's asking you to do.
- 31:32I don't know whether he's asking you to go.
- 31:36I don't know what your Zarephath is, but I'm certain he's asking us to serve him on full dependence.
- 31:46He's asking us to allow him to be the fuel that fires our engine.
- 31:53He's asking us to have him be our all in all and to daily commit and to daily
- 32:00purpose in our heart and to daily walk after him to be obedient to his commandments.
- 32:08This message is God is more than enough. It doesn't just mean that he'll give
- 32:14you everything you need.
- 32:15We know that. We see that in this account.
- 32:19We've spoken about it over the last few minutes.
- 32:22But what I want you to see is when you know him. And scripture says in John
- 32:2710, 14, I am the good shepherd and know my sheep.
- 32:31You're not a stranger to him. He knows your name. He knows the number of hairs on your head.
- 32:36And he's an unknown of mine. Those who serve him, those who love him,
- 32:42find his commandments to not be grievous or hard.
- 32:45If you know him, you will believe in him and you will trust him.
- 32:52And your life will demonstrate that.
- 32:56Your dependence won't be on self and your dependence won't be on the world,
- 33:02but your dependence will be rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ,
- 33:07the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end,
- 33:11the lover of our souls, the Savior of our hearts, and our lives and our being,
- 33:18our eternal God and King.
- 33:21Can you hear him? In John 10, 27 through 28, he says this, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them.
- 33:30And they follow me, and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
- 33:36Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
- 33:40Can you hear him? Does he walk and talk with you? Do you spend time with him?
- 33:48Psalms 46.10 says, Be still and know that I am God. Do you know his voice?
- 33:56Are you willing to follow him all the way?
- 34:03You've got to hear him. And if you know him, you will hear him.
- 34:09Because he says, my sheep hear my voice.
- 34:13And I know them and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish.
- 34:21Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
- 34:25Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
- 34:32The biggest question we have to answer today is do you trust that he is enough in every situation?
- 34:44Jeremiah 29, 11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
- 34:49saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
- 34:58Do you trust him?
- 35:01Elijah trusted him enough to go to the brook at Cherith, where he knew he was
- 35:09going to drink from a brook and be fed by a raven.
- 35:12When his needs changed, he trusted him enough to go to a widow woman that God
- 35:21had commanded for his sustenance and boldly proclaim what God had said.
- 35:28He looked to a woman who was there to sustain him and said, Give me what you have first.
- 35:36For many, you may think that's a bold, rude statement. But it's the best truth
- 35:41he had given her. Put him first.
- 35:45He commanded you. Don't do what your friends say you should be doing.
- 35:49Don't serve what your friends say you should serve.
- 35:52Don't do what feels good. Don't do what even is logically.
- 35:59Right, you do what God says, how he says it, and when he says it.
- 36:07God will direct you, but you gotta be where God says be.
- 36:11Elijah had to go to where God said to the woman, the widow, in order for God
- 36:19to get the glory and the two of them and the son to be sustained.
- 36:26Taking care of the widow some other way, I have to believe, yes.
- 36:30But Elijah wouldn't have gotten the blessing.
- 36:33And the widow couldn't have done what God commanded her if Elijah wasn't doing his part.
- 36:40We are a body of Christ, a body of believers put together in unity and unified
- 36:47to do the work God has called us to do for our communities, for our circle, for our reach.
- 36:55And if you're missing, if you're MIA, something isn't working as smoothly as
- 37:04the plan God had for you and for those around you.
- 37:08We don't live on an island to ourselves.
- 37:13Every decision, every action,
- 37:18every thought acted upon has ramifications for the strategically selected people
- 37:27God has placed in your life.
- 37:30You might think, well, I don't even like that person. I don't think that's an
- 37:35acceptable emotion in the kingdom of God.
- 37:40He loves you, and you're an imperfect person in an imperfect world doing imperfect things.
- 37:48He's enough. Do you trust him?
- 37:52Enough to do what he says.
- 37:55Elijah and the widower, they did. And what was their reward?
- 38:03And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the crews of oil fail,
- 38:07according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
- 38:12But without faith, it is impossible to please him.
- 38:17And you must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
- 38:27Scripture tells us in Proverbs 3, 5, 6, and 7, the exact model we just saw in 1 Kings 17, 1 through 16.
- 38:40He says this, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine
- 38:47own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
- 38:53Be not wise in thine own eyes. fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
- 38:59He's got a plan. It's a good plan.
- 39:03His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
- 39:07And he requires complete and utter obedience.
- 39:13Friend, he's more than enough. Trust him today.
- 39:19Remember, you are loved, Jesus.
