- 2:03Speaker 3: to nonfiction. Yes, I am a fiction girl, but I
- 2:07Speaker 3: think sometimes we need a little bit of reality in
- 2:10Speaker 3: our life. And I had a great time talking to
- 2:13Speaker 3: this author. We had a great conversation offline. None of
- 2:18Speaker 3: your business. That's between me and me and the author,
- 2:21Speaker 3: So don't don't be nosy. But it's an honor because
- 2:25Speaker 3: I think we're gonna be talking about this memoir My
- 2:28Speaker 3: pain taught me, But I'm sorry, my hurt taught me
- 2:32Speaker 3: about my pain motivated me? Do y'all hear so much
- 2:40Speaker 3: knowledge in that one statement, like your pain motivated you?
- 2:47Speaker 3: Like how do you do that? But he gonna give
- 2:50Speaker 3: us some tips, Okay, So on this beautiful Thursday night,
- 2:54Speaker 3: we are gonna be chatting with author Jonash Jean Pierre.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Come on up, Come on up, so we could get
- 3:03Speaker 3: how are you doing?
- 3:05Speaker 4: I'm doing good? How you doing?
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You see them trying to be noisy about our conversation earlier.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Tell them that's none of their business. That's between me

- 3:25Speaker 3: talking with your old readers, new readers, and those who
- 3:30Speaker 3: will be looking at the show and become new readers.
- 3:35Speaker 3: So before they can do all that, you have to
- 3:38Speaker 3: tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just sorry. I'm Pierre. I'm educution coach, a mentor, educator,
- 3:47Speaker 4: a minister, and what I do is I empower others
- 3:50Speaker 4: to be equipping the tools they need to. I love
- 3:52Speaker 4: a fully into whom God raithm to do with no limits.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Okay, this show is for me because y'all know a
- 4:01Speaker 3: cereal procrastinator, very bad at that. So you're gonna have
- 4:06Speaker 3: to help me out with that. Why tell us a
- 4:11Speaker 3: little bit about your book. This the cover body it
- 4:14Speaker 3: self speaks volumes, Okay, and we're gonna bring the cover
- 4:18Speaker 3: up you guys, we're gonna show a minute. Tell me
- 4:25Speaker 3: why the cover that is so simple with that one
- 4:30Speaker 3: statement in your face makes it so powerful. Why did
- 4:35Speaker 3: you decide to go with a cover like that?
- 4:39Speaker 4: I wanted to, I was thinking about, but it's the
- 4:42Speaker 4: best way to have a cover. I was like, you
- 4:44Speaker 4: know what this book is about me, let me go
- 4:46Speaker 4: ahead and have us you know this look that I
- 4:49Speaker 4: have where it shows kind of sadness anytime, it shows
- 4:54Speaker 4: kind of like glory behind it also, And so I
- 4:57Speaker 4: was like, what's the best way to about my life journey,
- 5:01Speaker 4: my life story? And I was like, this picture right here.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And you did that.
- 5:06Speaker 3: You did that, So tell us a little bit about
- 5:10Speaker 3: My pain taught me. But I'm sorry I keep on
- 5:14Speaker 3: saying it wrong. My hurt taught me, but my pain
- 5:19Speaker 3: motivates me. Now let me start real quick, and let
- 5:21Speaker 3: me tell you why I keep on saying it wrong
- 5:24Speaker 3: because the average person we learned from the pain and
- 5:30Speaker 3: we keep hurting ourselves, but yours is totally different. So
- 5:36Speaker 3: tell me tell me about your book.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah, so really the journey on the Obstacles to Child's
- 5:44Speaker 4: relations of life, Like you know, you talk about the
- 5:46Speaker 4: hurt of a young boy who was told about his father.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Don't ever call me that met your dad, call me pastor.
- 5:52Speaker 4: So first twenty reears of my life from five to
- 5:55Speaker 4: twenty eight, I struggled with his father womb of you know, followless,
- 6:01Speaker 4: and I realized, at some point I gotta heal who
- 6:06Speaker 4: gauts down my road. I'm gonna have kids, I'm gonna
- 6:08Speaker 4: be married, and at some point if I don't heal,
- 6:12Speaker 4: then the same toxicness is gonna pass down to my children,
- 6:16Speaker 4: and they're gonna pass into their children's children. So now
- 6:18Speaker 4: I'm thinking about legacy. What is it that I want
- 6:21Speaker 4: my last name to carry for my own family? So
- 6:24Speaker 4: my hurt taught me pay more of it. Me shows me, Hey,
- 6:29Speaker 4: yes this happened to you. That's not about what happens
- 6:32Speaker 4: to you, But how do you respond to what happens
- 6:34Speaker 4: to you? And your hurt can either build you or
- 6:37Speaker 4: could kill you. But the only we could kill you
- 6:40Speaker 4: if you allow them to.
- 6:43Speaker 2: That's that's profound. So it sounds like.
- 6:48Speaker 3: The audience of this book issue your future selves, the
- 6:53Speaker 3: future generations that you have. And I'm about to jump off.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Cliff And how old are you again?
- 7:03Speaker 4: Thirty five?
- 7:05Speaker 3: Now?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Do you know how profound that is?
- 7:07Speaker 3: Because people, you know, this generation that you're second, they
- 7:13Speaker 3: don't think like that. So is your thought pattern? Is
- 7:20Speaker 3: that from the hurt and pain that you had before
- 7:24Speaker 3: when you were younger, that brings you to where you
- 7:27Speaker 3: are right now?
- 7:28Speaker 4: A lot of people see the glory, but they don't
- 7:30Speaker 4: know the story. I was like, man, I see you
- 7:32Speaker 4: doing all this type of stuff you do all the
- 7:34Speaker 4: how do you get there? And I was like to
- 7:36Speaker 4: talk about my story of how I got there and
- 7:38Speaker 4: how I got here? You know, because not only that
- 7:40Speaker 4: I am a three times suicide attempt of vib depression,
- 7:44Speaker 4: mental illness, mental I just don't know what I've been
- 7:47Speaker 4: through and God been that good to me. Uh, But
- 7:51Speaker 4: I battle depression, I battle anxiety. I am so suicide
- 7:54Speaker 4: three times. And I literally now use this as a
- 7:59Speaker 4: motivation to go down an elevator to help others who
- 8:02Speaker 4: battle depression, who fe like they aren't equipped for life.
- 8:05Speaker 4: I always say this, You're born on purpose for a
- 8:08Speaker 4: purpose and what they purpose, and nothing about you was
- 8:11Speaker 4: an accident. So I use the same love stories that
- 8:14Speaker 4: I endured my struggle to make that become an impact
- 8:17Speaker 4: to others who might be connected to the same story
- 8:20Speaker 4: that I had to go through, and that that become
- 8:22Speaker 4: a testament for them to have hope that they can
- 8:25Speaker 4: endure it too.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You just spoke volumes. You literally spoke volumes and being
- 8:38Speaker 3: a black man and paying attention to your mental health.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Thank you, Kodles.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I'm about to put you on the spot.
- 8:48Speaker 3: But what would you say to other black men who
- 8:53Speaker 3: are experiencing the same issues but is afraid to focus
- 9:00Speaker 3: on their mental health.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I will say, you come first, the first part of work.
- 9:08Speaker 4: It starts with you, and it is okay to go
- 9:12Speaker 4: to therapy. It is not short weakness that you cry.
- 9:16Speaker 4: It's show strength and true kings do cry. True kings
- 9:22Speaker 4: do ask for help. True kings do put themselves first.
- 9:26Speaker 4: So don't fake it until you make it. But you
- 9:29Speaker 4: gotta face it until you make it. I think you're muted.
- 9:46Speaker 4: You're muted. I'm sorry.
- 9:51Speaker 3: On my computer is.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Doing some weird stuff.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I've heard so many times people will tell our young boys, man, man, man,
- 9:59Speaker 3: stop crying. Why did we do that to our young men?
- 10:05Speaker 3: But we'll let our girls cry it in a hard set.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I think it's because of the man stigma that society
- 10:11Speaker 4: has put on. You look at media, look at the music, vieal,
- 10:14Speaker 4: look at the message being played. You always see men
- 10:16Speaker 4: being tough, men being hard, may do all this, and
- 10:20Speaker 4: if you look at I can't even say, man. It's
- 10:23Speaker 4: really the portray of black men, how media portrays black men,
- 10:26Speaker 4: how we're supposed to look like I was supposed to be.
- 10:28Speaker 4: And you know, you think about a black household, you
- 10:31Speaker 4: don't really think much about, Hey, what's an average house?
- 10:34Speaker 4: Sort of? A black man has a father in the home.
- 10:37Speaker 4: So if that child isn't see a representation of themselves,
- 10:41Speaker 4: then look for a presentation. Where can I be valued at?
- 10:45Speaker 4: Who looks like me? Where are they at? Now here
- 10:48Speaker 4: comes media, Well this is where they're at. So now
- 10:51Speaker 4: you have stigma of magicas saying, hey, you got a
- 10:55Speaker 4: man up, boys on, cry stuck it up, you know,
- 10:58Speaker 4: or you're here. Determine a black house quite often. And
- 11:00Speaker 4: if you don't have crying, I will give something that's
- 11:03Speaker 4: a cry about all right. Yes, that one we're told
- 11:10Speaker 4: your own, boys is you cannot be emotional, so now
- 11:14Speaker 4: you gotta suck it up. So it's come from at home.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Bringing that comment to now the affirmation starts with the
- 11:21Speaker 4: world just because it's giving me the same message from
- 11:23Speaker 4: what's being at home. And it's not until we realize
- 11:29Speaker 4: that one God who created us and put us together
- 11:34Speaker 4: gave everybody a sense of emotion. But when it comes
- 11:37Speaker 4: to bed, we have learned how to be on tap
- 11:40Speaker 4: from emotional self because we're never given up proper tools
- 11:44Speaker 4: or their career or the atmosphere to be emotional. And
- 11:48Speaker 4: by the time we cry, it's because somebody is dead.
- 11:54Speaker 4: So now we're reaching. We are now shedding tears off
- 11:59Speaker 4: of the funeral because we never created space for our
- 12:04Speaker 4: brothers to actually process what could have been processed if
- 12:09Speaker 4: we created space for them to actually talk about what
- 12:11Speaker 4: they're going through. And if you look at mental health
- 12:13Speaker 4: in the black community, even suicide, it is high in
- 12:17Speaker 4: the black community, m hm m m. And to tell
- 12:22Speaker 4: we actually put the center stage of hey man, talk
- 12:27Speaker 4: about your heart. Go to therapy. The best the best
- 12:29Speaker 4: thing I ever did in my life is going to therapy.
- 12:33Speaker 4: The best thing I ever did was searching ofself, was
- 12:37Speaker 4: saying hey, I gotta admit it. I need help. I
- 12:40Speaker 4: to admit it first that I need help in wonder
- 12:42Speaker 4: for me to take that step of saying hey, let
- 12:44Speaker 4: me seek help. And if you don't admit that you
- 12:46Speaker 4: need help, you would ever seek help.
- 12:50Speaker 3: That is the true because in the Black church, black
- 12:55Speaker 3: households period, when you have a mental issue or mental
- 13:00Speaker 3: problems or mental situations or whatever it is, when it
- 13:04Speaker 3: has to do with your mental they always say go
- 13:06Speaker 3: to church. Well, and I'm gonna talk to you from
- 13:11Speaker 3: a girl who used to go to church, that's where
- 13:13Speaker 3: some of the pain came from. So you're telling me
- 13:17Speaker 3: to go and deal with the pain at the place
- 13:23Speaker 3: that's causing the pain. I need y'all to make it
- 13:27Speaker 3: make sense. But I actually did. I went through therapy
- 13:31Speaker 3: and the process was it was hard. I found out
- 13:37Speaker 3: some stuff about myself that I didn't even know. And
- 13:43Speaker 3: I would like to ask is is, as a woman,
- 13:54Speaker 3: how can we support the African American man when it
- 14:02Speaker 3: comes to his mental health journey because you know, females,
- 14:07Speaker 3: sometimes we we be the issue man on they crying
- 14:11Speaker 3: like you know what, but you don't know what that
- 14:14Speaker 3: brother is going through. And when you do see a
- 14:16Speaker 3: brother cry and stuff like that or expressed his emotions,
- 14:21Speaker 3: we ready to walk away because he's too soft. But
- 14:24Speaker 3: as the African American female, how can we.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Help make sure you see them? Don't say you see them,
- 14:35Speaker 4: but make sure you actually see them. Can you since
- 14:38Speaker 4: can you sense the difference of energy being shifted when
- 14:42Speaker 4: something happens, or does he have to wait to tell
- 14:45Speaker 4: you what's going on or anything like that? Or look
- 14:51Speaker 4: at the different signs of the way they talk. Was
- 14:55Speaker 4: there a trigger that changed how they talk? And be
- 15:01Speaker 4: consistent at being present. Don't be present only when things
- 15:07Speaker 4: look good, when there are happening, be present even in
- 15:10Speaker 4: the midst of the storm. You have to understand. We
- 15:12Speaker 4: have to first understand that our natural state, of the
- 15:16Speaker 4: natural state of a man is to not talk about
- 15:19Speaker 4: it because of the media. But until you actually become
- 15:24Speaker 4: the ruth for him, that he could be able to
- 15:30Speaker 4: talk and be free and release. But if we don't
- 15:33Speaker 4: create that space to do that, it'll be hard to
- 15:37Speaker 4: talk about it. You know, they you know, and like
- 15:42Speaker 4: you were saying, my church church is a hospital for
- 15:44Speaker 4: the broken. Everybody's sick in church. And even with that
- 15:49Speaker 4: aspect of itself is everyd's looking for healing in church,
- 15:55Speaker 4: and nothing's wrong with that. But at the same time,
- 15:58Speaker 4: how many people in church are actually seeking the help
- 16:02Speaker 4: that they need? And when it comes to even African
- 16:05Speaker 4: American or black men, the way that the sisters could
- 16:08Speaker 4: be present for them is really speak life into them
- 16:14Speaker 4: and don't affirm what the world says about the black man,
- 16:21Speaker 4: but speak lifly to them and be consistent of words
- 16:25Speaker 4: affirmations because the words affirmations could change the whole thing around,
- 16:30Speaker 4: especially when the man is in the broken point.
- 16:33Speaker 3: So it's crazy because when you say be when you
- 16:37Speaker 3: were saying be present, the first thing I thought is
- 16:41Speaker 3: when I come home from work, my son worked home.
- 16:45Speaker 3: I don't ask him how was your day?
- 16:49Speaker 2: I asked him, tell.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Me about your day?
- 16:53Speaker 2: Because when you have.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Somebody, how was it it? Fine?
- 16:56Speaker 2: Good, okay?
- 16:58Speaker 3: When you ask them tell me about your day, you're
- 17:03Speaker 3: getting them to talk and release whatever was good, bad, ugly, indifference, whatever,
- 17:09Speaker 3: But they're able to have that communication with you, and
- 17:14Speaker 3: even with my daughter is not what did you do today?
- 17:18Speaker 2: It's uh, what hurd?
- 17:20Speaker 3: I change it up. It's like, tell me how did
- 17:24Speaker 3: you make someone smile today? Tell me what did you
- 17:27Speaker 3: do in math class? Not how was school? Because the
- 17:30Speaker 3: first thing is say is good, and then the next
- 17:32Speaker 3: question we always ask our kids. Well in my house
- 17:35Speaker 3: because you know, we like to eat, we have lunch.
- 17:39Speaker 3: So that makes so much sense. So let's go back
- 17:44Speaker 3: to your book. My hurt taught me about my pain
- 17:49Speaker 3: motivating me. What is one of the takeaways you would
- 17:56Speaker 3: want your readers to gain from your book.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Every when you think about cooking food, you add seasons
- 18:07Speaker 4: to make it better, And every life storm, it's just
- 18:13Speaker 4: seasons of impact being made. And every when I say
- 18:17Speaker 4: life be lifing, it's because what happens is you can't
- 18:22Speaker 4: control happens in life, but you can control how you
- 18:25Speaker 4: respond to what happens in life, and how you respond
- 18:28Speaker 4: with determined the season you put in for impact. So
- 18:31Speaker 4: I understand that one thing I want to take away
- 18:34Speaker 4: is behind every mess there is a message, and behind
- 18:38Speaker 4: every test there is a testimony, and that testimony could
- 18:42Speaker 4: be used for impacting others around you your story how
- 18:46Speaker 4: you made it through, because how can they have hope
- 18:49Speaker 4: that they can make it through if they don't hear
- 18:51Speaker 4: anybody's story on how they made it through.
- 18:57Speaker 3: And every mess there is a message. For every test
- 19:01Speaker 3: there's a testimony. I never heard that before, and if
- 19:05Speaker 3: I didn't hear a message, wasn't paying attention. That's that's
- 19:12Speaker 3: that's that's that's that's mind bombing, that's how did you
- 19:18Speaker 3: come up with that one?
- 19:21Speaker 4: I came up with that when I realized that the
- 19:27Speaker 4: message of my life that I was taking place I
- 19:29Speaker 4: had no control over, became a voice of a message
- 19:32Speaker 4: that I never knew where to have this much impact.
- 19:35Speaker 4: And when it came to the test of my life,
- 19:38Speaker 4: I realized that when I passed the test, I had
- 19:41Speaker 4: a story of overcoming what I had to endure. So
- 19:45Speaker 4: I was like, oh, this is a testimony right here.
- 19:47Speaker 4: I endured this and I made it through here. This
- 19:49Speaker 4: is the testimony. And when I think about the message
- 19:52Speaker 4: of life that I had no control over, I was like, wow,
- 19:55Speaker 4: this mess Now give me a message where now my
- 19:59Speaker 4: my wholet slogan is you're doing off purpose for the
- 20:03Speaker 4: purpose and what they purpose? And it all came from
- 20:06Speaker 4: the mess that created a powerful message.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Where can you Can you tell me about one time
- 20:15Speaker 3: where you had to go back and read your book
- 20:19Speaker 3: to motivate yourself.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Oh that was last week. So you know one of
- 20:31Speaker 4: my one of my seven books that I have, I
- 20:33Speaker 4: have to go back and read. So what is your why?
- 20:36Speaker 4: Because I really can't a threshold? Uh running on E.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I was on low e, low fuel, and I didn
- 20:44Speaker 4: feel like I could keep on going anymore. I wasn't
- 20:47Speaker 4: like mentally depressed. It was just my energy was on
- 20:49Speaker 4: e because of the work that I do.
- 20:54Speaker 5: So because I would all eat and I was like,
- 21:01Speaker 5: you know what, I need to have some motivation, motivation
- 21:03Speaker 5: because I'm mentor kids and I'm mentoring with thirty plus
- 21:06Speaker 5: kids as a mentor, and so they call on me
- 21:09Speaker 5: and they reach out to me and they're going through.
- 21:11Speaker 4: All their own stuff and I'm over like I need
- 21:14Speaker 4: to get some motivation. And you know, people always think
- 21:19Speaker 4: because you're you know, you're inspiration or motivation also like
- 21:22Speaker 4: that that you don't call through anything. And sometimes I
- 21:25Speaker 4: just like that's where got to sit back and read
- 21:29Speaker 4: my own work. Just I can have inspiration. Now, Okay,
- 21:31Speaker 4: I need to keep on going to do this work.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Okay, how do you motivate yourself?
- 21:41Speaker 3: You're motivating all these love people.
- 21:43Speaker 2: How do you motivate you.
- 21:45Speaker 4: I have the kountability partners. I have people hot me accountable.
- 21:50Speaker 4: When I feeling like I'm in my lowest, I'll read
- 21:53Speaker 4: my book. I also call my unt of believe brothers,
- 21:55Speaker 4: tell them how many comble this way, so they will
- 21:58Speaker 4: show up and they will performance actually what I tell
- 22:00Speaker 4: them to do and the times where I'm feeling a
- 22:03Speaker 4: certain type of way. So yeah, I got kind of
- 22:07Speaker 4: partners on people whom accountable and at the same time,
- 22:10Speaker 4: if I'm on low, I also have my prayer groups,
- 22:15Speaker 4: people who you know, step step in prayer with me,
- 22:18Speaker 4: inform me at the same time, and I make sure
- 22:21Speaker 4: that I'm not silent in the midst of where I'm
- 22:23Speaker 4: going on E because I've been there before when I've
- 22:25Speaker 4: been silent, and I was like, I can't do that
- 22:27Speaker 4: ever again. So I make it a point and I
- 22:30Speaker 4: make it the foundation of Hey, don't be silent in
- 22:36Speaker 4: the moment where you're waiting on E call. You got
- 22:39Speaker 4: people who care about your people who love you, talk
- 22:42Speaker 4: to them then know what's going on. People you trust
- 22:45Speaker 4: that you know won't go around telling your business around.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Because that's another scary thing too, is being able to
- 22:51Speaker 4: be vulnerable. It's hard. Sometimes you could trust and could
- 22:55Speaker 4: count on that I will be there for you. That
- 22:57Speaker 4: becomes another motivation. But okay, the persons and heart when
- 23:01Speaker 4: me call them, and I can call people three or
- 23:03Speaker 4: four in the morning, don't answer the phone.
- 23:06Speaker 3: So we all know about the prayer group. So then
- 23:08Speaker 3: a lot of people do not know what accountability person is.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Can you explain to them what an accountability person?
- 23:16Speaker 4: Yeah, accountability person is someone that you trust that you
- 23:22Speaker 4: tell them, Hey, for example, say you have a goal
- 23:24Speaker 4: of mine, so I won't go to the gym three
- 23:25Speaker 4: days a week whatever, and you tell them, hey, I
- 23:28Speaker 4: want you to make sure that I go to the
- 23:30Speaker 4: gym three days a week. That kind of person is
- 23:32Speaker 4: gonna go ahead and do the very thing you tell
- 23:35Speaker 4: them what to do and what they might do. What
- 23:38Speaker 4: they will go ahead and do is execute that but
- 23:40Speaker 4: be hard on you because you told them how you
- 23:43Speaker 4: want to show up for you for this good become
- 23:46Speaker 4: manifesting for yourself. So basically they're your cheerleader behind the scenes,
- 23:50Speaker 4: in front of the scenes, and who'll be hard on
- 23:53Speaker 4: you and you may not like it, but they're gonna
- 23:56Speaker 4: do it because they love you.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Now, I like that. I think we all need to
- 24:01Speaker 3: think about who our accountability partner could be. Not that
- 24:06Speaker 3: person who, like he said, it's going to go talk
- 24:09Speaker 3: about what you're going through and everything. Is this person
- 24:11Speaker 3: who's gonna tell you when you're right, and that person
- 24:13Speaker 3: who wonta tell you when you're wrong and look in
- 24:15Speaker 3: your face and tell you now you.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Shouldn't have done it a good job.
- 24:19Speaker 3: So my next question to you, you said you've written
- 24:24Speaker 3: seven books. Yes, out of these seven books, if you
- 24:30Speaker 3: had to recommend one for me to read, which one
- 24:36Speaker 3: would it be?
- 24:37Speaker 2: And why.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Black Chronicles?
- 24:42Speaker 3: Okay?
- 24:43Speaker 4: The reason why I say Black dimon Chronicles is because
- 24:46Speaker 4: this book is actually collaboration book where it's authors coming
- 24:49Speaker 4: together in different parts of the parts of the world
- 24:52Speaker 4: sharing their story. There's a every chapter is an author's chapter,
- 24:57Speaker 4: and it's basically the Black domochannical about people's mess of
- 25:01Speaker 4: life that they go through and how that's shaping has
- 25:04Speaker 4: become a diamond to the impact of doing now. And
- 25:07Speaker 4: the reason I recommend that for you is because the
- 25:10Speaker 4: work that you do, I know you love what you do,
- 25:13Speaker 4: and I know that this gives you feel of hearing
- 25:17Speaker 4: people's stories like that, but it's a way to see
- 25:22Speaker 4: how other jewels had to get pressed and shake it
- 25:25Speaker 4: together to be put together to become a bright light
- 25:29Speaker 4: in a diamond that can impact others.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Okay, I like that one.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I like that one. So we are about five minutes
- 25:40Speaker 3: away from closing out, and I do this session that's
- 25:43Speaker 3: called my front time. Okay, I've already give the session
- 25:46Speaker 3: so many names, but I'm gonna let you guys help
- 25:48Speaker 3: me with the name next time and not tonight. Okay.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I love music, I love TV.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Okay, so my question to you.
- 26:00Speaker 3: His Lifetime just called you and said, you know what,
- 26:02Speaker 3: we love your book. My pain taught me, My hurt
- 26:08Speaker 3: taught me, but my pain motivated me, and we want
- 26:12Speaker 3: to make it into a movie. We would like to
- 26:14Speaker 3: know who would you like to play you? And why
- 26:18Speaker 3: do you want them to play you?
- 26:21Speaker 4: Said, oh man, mm hmm, I would saying less Brown Brown.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I would want Less Brown to play me.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Okay, so now you gotta give me a show that
- 26:38Speaker 3: Les Brown was on. Y'all know I'm about to get
- 26:40Speaker 3: the phone.
- 26:41Speaker 4: He's one of those, He's one of the top and
- 26:43Speaker 4: wiial speakers. Okay, doctor loves Brown. I would want him
- 26:48Speaker 4: to play me just because him and I had the
- 26:50Speaker 4: same struggle. So for me, I don't think he will
- 26:53Speaker 4: be acting. I think he will be himself because he
- 26:57Speaker 4: had the same shoule I had.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Okay, seem okay, okay, all right, And where would you
- 27:12Speaker 3: like this movie to take place? And why did you
- 27:15Speaker 3: chose that location?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Oh?
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Hollywood, Hollywood. Okay, so why Hollywood?
- 27:31Speaker 4: Well, I said Hollywood, that's in my mind. But I
- 27:37Speaker 4: think at the same time, do you think about the
- 27:41Speaker 4: the attraction and you think about the the stent. A
- 27:46Speaker 4: lot of people go through Hollywood and watch a lot
- 27:47Speaker 4: of stuff, So like Hollywood or if it's a movie theater,
- 27:51Speaker 4: AMC or something.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, So we're down to our last five minutes,
- 27:58Speaker 3: and I always like the authors to tell us first,
- 28:04Speaker 3: what would you like to say to your old readers,
- 28:08Speaker 3: new readers, and people that will become readers once they
- 28:12Speaker 3: see this podcast, what would you like to say to them?
- 28:16Speaker 4: To the old readers, I'll say, don't give up and
- 28:22Speaker 4: keep on hanging in there and keep on going strong.
- 28:26Speaker 4: To the new readers, I'll say that understand that this
- 28:31Speaker 4: too short. Pass whatever you're in and to the current readers,
- 28:39Speaker 4: keep on standing.
- 28:41Speaker 3: All right now the rundown at the bottom. We have
- 28:46Speaker 3: all your social media links, but tell us again, where
- 28:50Speaker 3: can we follow you? The title of your books, any
- 28:54Speaker 3: upcoming projects, or if you have book signis coming up?
- 28:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you can follow me on Facebook, Josie Jean Pierre

- 29:17Speaker 4: children's book coming up soon. It's called Dear Black Boy,
- 29:22Speaker 4: Dear Black Boys, a se message for young Black boys.
- 29:26Speaker 4: And it's being already been a lot of schools and
- 29:29Speaker 4: watching the state has already question before the book to come.
- 29:32Speaker 4: So around two hundred fifth elementary schools are going to
- 29:35Speaker 4: have the book as their schools already. So I'm getting
- 29:39Speaker 4: a lot of piordiers coming in already. Uh. In August,

- 30:09Speaker 2: Okay, so.
- 30:12Speaker 3: You can't help but to support this African American male
- 30:21Speaker 3: or some of you guys say one of the brothers
- 30:25Speaker 3: you have no choice about to support because you heard
- 30:28Speaker 3: nothing but great motivation. I mean, what else do we need.
- 30:33Speaker 3: I mean, if you could support anybody else what they're doing.
