- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:14Speaker 1: of Long Story short the podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and today we're discussing Welcome to Mama's, the final movie
- 0:22Speaker 1: in the Love Youary lineup on the Hallmark Channel. Before
- 0:26Speaker 1: we jump into our thoughts on this kind of standalone
- 0:30Speaker 1: movie from a weird month of Hallmark movies, we want
- 0:34Speaker 1: to let you know that you can always find us
- 0:35Speaker 1: outside of the podcast on Instagram, on Twitter, on TikTok.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We are at Megan and Wendy, and you can also
- 0:41Speaker 1: hop into our Facebook group, which is Long Story Shorties
- 0:44Speaker 1: Don't Forget.
- 0:45Speaker 2: You can also email us at Meganandwindy at gmail dot com.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Now that the wedding veil madness has died down, we're
- 0:53Speaker 1: not getting the influx of emails, but we want your
- 0:55Speaker 1: Hallmark emails. Let us know what you think. We have
- 0:58Speaker 1: the pleasure today of being joined by a guest. We're
- 1:02Speaker 1: thrilled to have her. Laur Garcia is a writer, a
- 1:05Speaker 1: pop culture lover, and the host of the untitled gen
- 1:09Speaker 1: X podcast, a podcast dedicated to the pop culture that
- 1:12Speaker 1: raised us. She's the wife of one, mother of two,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and perfectly virgo in every way. Her hair went viral once,
- 1:19Speaker 1: her words went viral twice, and she's still not over
- 1:22Speaker 1: how my so called life left us hanging. Laurie, First
- 1:27Speaker 1: of all, welcome to the podcast.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Thank you so much for having me, ladies. I'm really
- 1:31Speaker 2: excited to be here.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And second, that may be the most practically perfect bio
- 1:37Speaker 1: I've ever read.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Well, thank you bo writer, easy well, and I got easy.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I had said it was very clear that this bio
- 1:47Speaker 1: was written by a writer, so I agree. It's not
- 1:50Speaker 1: easy to write a bio. I hate is my least
- 1:53Speaker 1: favorite thing to tell you, but I loved yours. So
- 1:57Speaker 1: we had the pleasure of being guests on Laurie's podcast
- 2:00Speaker 1: last year, and it was a real turn of the
- 2:03Speaker 1: tables because on this podcast, I'm the longtime Hallmark fan,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Wendy's the newbie. Although we're like way into it. I
- 2:11Speaker 1: don't know that you could claim that title anymore, but
- 2:14Speaker 1: on that podcast, Wendy was the expert and I just
- 2:17Speaker 1: kind of bumbled along behind her. So Wendy brought it.
- 2:20Speaker 2: She totally brought it.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I that was such a highlight for me.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I love it. Thank you, no, thank you guys for
- 2:28Speaker 2: joining me last season. It was a blast. People really
- 2:31Speaker 2: loved your episode, you know, I of course, I mean
- 2:34Speaker 2: no doubt, right. You know what is so funny, Lorie,
- 2:37Speaker 2: You've had a couple I don't want to call it
- 2:39Speaker 2: rerun episodes, but repeat episodes lately show up in my
- 2:43Speaker 2: feet and I was like, I could have been a
- 2:44Speaker 2: guest on that one and that one and that one.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Like I feel like you are speaking my language. You're
- 2:50Speaker 2: giving me the content that, like you know, I grew
- 2:53Speaker 2: up on. So I just love it so much. I
- 2:55Speaker 2: love that. You'll just have to come back, Okay, Yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 2: we'll do it again.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Okay, yes, and preferably something I know something about. And
- 3:03Speaker 1: I have to say, there have been so many episodes.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I agree that. I'm like, man, I would have had
- 3:06Speaker 1: so many better things to say. So we're ready. I'm
- 3:11Speaker 1: in the wings waiting for my protection.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I love it.
- 3:14Speaker 1: We are talking about Welcome to Mama's Today and Wendy,
- 3:18Speaker 1: we forgot to do a synopsis last week, but do
- 3:20Speaker 1: you have one for us this week?
- 3:21Speaker 2: I do? I do?
- 3:23Speaker 1: Are you ready? I am? Okay?
- 3:25Speaker 2: After she inherits an Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, manager Amy
- 3:30Speaker 2: teams up with a master chef to relaunch the establishment
- 3:33Speaker 2: and make her loved ones proud.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Boom, okay, oh yeah, So we're going to hop into
- 3:41Speaker 1: news and notes about this episode, and I have a
- 3:46Speaker 1: very sharp left turn. Oh I need to get this
- 3:49Speaker 1: out of the way your This is Melanie Grafano, who
- 3:53Speaker 1: is the star of this movie. She plays Amy. She tweeted,
- 3:58Speaker 1: oh no, for this movie. There's an image of her
- 4:04Speaker 1: and one of the other women in the movie baking,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and it says two girls, one measuring cup. Question mark.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Now do you know what that's a reference to? Uh?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Not me, No, no, she said, she said, one measuring cup,
- 4:19Speaker 2: question Mark.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Here's the thing. Two girls, one cup is not something
- 4:24Speaker 1: you should google if you are squeetish at all. This
- 4:30Speaker 1: is a Hallmark podcast, now let me tell you. The
- 4:33Speaker 1: replies blew up good and there were responses like, uh,
- 4:43Speaker 1: this is a Hallmark and her response was yes, but
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm new here. So immediately I read this after watching
- 4:49Speaker 1: this movie, and it immediately elevated my opinion of her.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I was like, oh, she's fun.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Wait, I'm looking up two girls, one cup. It's raid too.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I'm not do that.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I'm a little bit afraid, but I what's coming up
- 5:05Speaker 2: is this? Two Girls, one Cup is the unofficial nickname
- 5:08Speaker 2: of the trailer for Hungry, a two thousand and seven
- 5:11Speaker 2: Brazilian oh fetish pornographic film. Okay, so, but keep reading,
- 5:17Speaker 2: don't read it, don't well, oh my god, no, it's no,
- 5:26Speaker 2: that's awful. It's not a dictionary.
- 5:30Speaker 1: If anybody wants to know that, don't do it.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Okay, So, can we safely say that she's no longer
- 5:36Speaker 2: going to be in the roster of Hallmark Films for
- 5:38Speaker 2: having tweeted that she's.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Not your Candice Cameron Ray. But I mean, maybe she's
- 5:44Speaker 1: coming back. Maybe Hallmark wants this audience.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Is Hallmark getting like Edgier, I don't know what you saw, Wendy.
- 5:58Speaker 2: So I'm I coming from a place, you guys, and
- 6:02Speaker 2: my face is flush and I am shook right now,
- 6:04Speaker 2: like I know.
- 6:06Speaker 1: So let me say this, Laurie. We're deep in the
- 6:08Speaker 1: world of Hallmark, obviously, and obviously what's been happening in
- 6:12Speaker 1: the last I would say a year or so with
- 6:16Speaker 1: Hallmark is they've made an effort to be more inclusive.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Now it's not a perfect process. I mean, we have
- 6:22Speaker 1: yet to have a same sex main couple, although we
- 6:26Speaker 1: have had same sex couples. We work real hard to
- 6:28Speaker 1: find diversity in this movie, particularly in the leads. But
- 6:34Speaker 1: they have taken steps in the right direction. And there
- 6:37Speaker 1: is a subset of the Hallmark audience who gets very
- 6:40Speaker 1: angry when they do that, And when you read the reviews,
- 6:43Speaker 1: they get very mad at Hallmark being woke. Those are
- 6:46Speaker 1: their words, not mine, So I think, yes, Hallmark is
- 6:50Speaker 1: trying to be edgier, definitely not to this.
- 6:55Speaker 2: They're getting some pushback from like Middle America. Yeah, I
- 6:59Speaker 2: understand that, and I I do know that the need
- 7:01Speaker 2: for diversity in these Hallmark films. I mean, whoa, We've
- 7:05Speaker 2: needed this for so so long, So I do appreciate
- 7:08Speaker 2: the baby steps forward, but clearly more needs to be done,
- 7:12Speaker 2: and Middle America just calmed down a little bit.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's okay, So let's move on to some more as
- 7:16Speaker 1: traditional news and notes about this movie. Lourie, do you
- 7:19Speaker 1: have anything you'd like to talk about?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Well, okay, so this is really superficial, but I'm going there. Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 2: Amy needs bangs.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm sorry, can we all.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Agree even a side bang. I'm a fan of a
- 7:35Speaker 2: side bang. It doesn't have to be a curtain. Bang's
- 7:39Speaker 2: something I had this thought. I'm not even trying to
- 7:43Speaker 2: be funny. I have this thought so many times throughout
- 7:48Speaker 2: the film. And she's a lovely girl. I think that
- 7:51Speaker 2: she's really pretty, and I thought she did a great
- 7:54Speaker 2: job in the film, but I don't know, I just
- 7:57Speaker 2: felt like she needed some volume there. Okay, so that
- 8:01Speaker 2: was my first thought. My second one was I wanted
- 8:05Speaker 2: more scenery. Now. I know, like I usually spend my
- 8:09Speaker 2: you know, Hallmark movie time during the Christmas season where
- 8:13Speaker 2: there's just so much eye candy. It's just so lovely
- 8:17Speaker 2: to look at. Everything feels so warm and cozy. And
- 8:20Speaker 2: I know this wasn't set during the holiday season, but
- 8:24Speaker 2: I just wanted more. I enjoyed the look inside the
- 8:28Speaker 2: restaurant that was kind of giving me some serious Nancy
- 8:31Speaker 2: Meyer vibes, and I live for that. But I don't know,
- 8:34Speaker 2: it's just like the New York of it all just
- 8:38Speaker 2: didn't A lot of it looked like a backdrop, and
- 8:41Speaker 2: I just wanted more scenery.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I have that note a little bit later. Also,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I have a complaint about that, to your point, it
- 8:51Speaker 1: doesn't look like New York because of course this was
- 8:52Speaker 1: not filmed in New York. It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada, right,
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I have to say I do appreciate that they
- 9:00Speaker 1: found one moment of scaffolding for that authentic New York feel,
- 9:03Speaker 1: But that was really the only moment where I was like, Oh,
- 9:05Speaker 1: we're in the city. Everything else, you know, it's largely
- 9:09Speaker 1: shot inside the restaurant or like behind a lattice work.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Of plants to hide.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Totally, Wendy, what else you got for news and notes?
- 9:20Speaker 2: I've got that this movie was originally named The Perfect Recipe.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Oh, which I.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Think is a better choice than what agreed Mama's in
- 9:30Speaker 2: my opinion. It was also, Yeah, I think it's cute.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It was also filmed during November fifteenth through December third,
- 9:39Speaker 2: and there was one scene they were outside and you
- 9:42Speaker 2: could clearly see their breath. It was very cold wherever
- 9:45Speaker 2: they were at, but they were not wearing jackets or anything.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I just thought, those Portuo actors are freezing their buns
- 9:50Speaker 2: off out there. Yeah. I know.
- 9:53Speaker 1: They had Frank Daniel de Tomaso and the leather jacket
- 9:55Speaker 1: once and I could see his breath and I was like,
- 9:57Speaker 1: I bet that's not very warm, buddy. She wish she
- 10:00Speaker 1: had to wear the Countdown to Christmas wardrobe where they're
- 10:04Speaker 1: pushing up their sleeves in August. He was hot.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I thought he was so handsome. About Frank He is
- 10:11Speaker 2: a model actor and he's done campaigns for Lareel and
- 10:15Speaker 2: Giorgio ARMANI Oh, so, is this his first Hallmark film?
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yes?
- 10:22Speaker 2: Okay, is He does have other titles he's done, but
- 10:25Speaker 2: I think it's his first Hallmark. Oh. I hope they
- 10:28Speaker 2: bring him back. I enjoyed watching him a lot.
- 10:31Speaker 1: This is definitely his first starring role. He has a
- 10:34Speaker 1: lot of guest starring and recurring roles, including on a
- 10:36Speaker 1: show called Timeless, which my husband and I loved and
- 10:38Speaker 1: ended entirely too soon, but I liked him as the star.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Melanie's Grafano, who plays Amy, is best known for playing
- 10:48Speaker 1: on the show win on Ip and she's got some
- 10:52Speaker 1: wine own EARP fans showing up on social media, So
- 10:56Speaker 1: I think, what the hell is why? I I've never
- 11:01Speaker 1: even heard of this show before?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Me neither.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Why NOA IRP is a supernatural Western horror television series
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm Out, based on the comic book series by Bo Smith.
- 11:13Speaker 1: She is the great great granddaughter of the legendary lawman
- 11:17Speaker 1: Wyatt Irp. Whynona returns to her hometown of Purgatory, where
- 11:21Speaker 1: she battles Revenants, the reincarnated outlaws that Wyatt killed. Oh wow,
- 11:27Speaker 1: four seasons, you guys, I have not Wow, what channel
- 11:31Speaker 1: is it on Sci Fi? So? Why on? Earp is
- 11:35Speaker 1: not in my wheelhouse? But that is what she's best
- 11:37Speaker 1: known for. She brings a fan base. I would imagine
- 11:39Speaker 1: that's a draw at this point if you're going to
- 11:41Speaker 1: bring in a new actress the same way Katie Sakoff
- 11:45Speaker 1: brought kind of her cult following to Hallmark. I think
- 11:48Speaker 1: Hallmark brings in these external actors and actresses, so they
- 11:52Speaker 1: bring their following with them.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I thought she was great. I thought she was great.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I just thought she needed some banks.
- 11:59Speaker 1: And of course we have Lorraine freaking Brocco.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Oh oh my god. Love her, love her.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Most notably from The Sopranos, But she's worked quite a
- 12:09Speaker 1: bit since then. She played Angela Rizzoli on Rosolian Ills
- 12:13Speaker 1: in one hundred and five episodes of that show.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Wow, I mean she's in Good Fellas, Like, come on, yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: She's gonna have a lot of syndication money, soh yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 1: I bet you right, Yeah, I bet you're right. Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I don't think she did this job for the money, right,
- 12:30Speaker 1: She just likes to work. Maybe I wanted to tell
- 12:32Speaker 1: that I loved her voice too, Give me that, give
- 12:35Speaker 1: me that scratchy Lorraine Brocco voice. Oh you know.
- 12:38Speaker 2: My husband was like totally in the other room and
- 12:40Speaker 2: I was watching this, and he's like, is that the
- 12:42Speaker 2: shrink from the Sopranos? Yes, it is.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I have not actually an episode of the Sopranos.
- 12:49Speaker 2: What, Yes, I've watched the Sopranos. Of course, it's so good.
- 12:54Speaker 1: My husband does not like new shows. He watches old,
- 12:58Speaker 1: old shows all the time. Well that's an old old show,
- 13:00Speaker 1: so no, I know. But I mean the lead guy
- 13:03Speaker 1: is a dead show from his childhood, like Silver Spoons
- 13:08Speaker 1: or Growing Pains.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Or would you like to be a guest on my
- 13:11Speaker 2: podcast or covering iconic TV on The Patriot.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I can seriously have him on his guest He swears
- 13:21Speaker 1: a lot and has a bad attitude.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Well, perfect, welcome with open arms. You're just describing my ideal.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Guess that's what we do. A handler like to feel
- 13:36Speaker 1: like with an external mute button.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, I love it.
- 13:42Speaker 1: But he has said over and over and over again.
- 13:44Speaker 1: One of the shows I would like to go back
- 13:46Speaker 1: and watch is The Sopranos, and we don't have a
- 13:48Speaker 1: lot of mutual shows that we watch. I'm like, yes, please,
- 13:50Speaker 1: that would be great because then we'd have a show
- 13:52Speaker 1: to watch together. So maybe maybe were days I'll get
- 13:56Speaker 1: him to watch it. It's time for our first impressions
- 14:01Speaker 1: of this movie. Laurie as our guest, you may go first.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Okay, So first, I thought I enjoyed the story. I
- 14:12Speaker 2: love a story told through flashbacks. It's always, you know,
- 14:17Speaker 2: something I enjoy. But my first impression was that there
- 14:23Speaker 2: just wasn't a lot of sexual chemistry between the title characters.
- 14:28Speaker 2: And I thought they both did a great job. I
- 14:30Speaker 2: thought Frank was super hot.
- 14:32Speaker 1: But I just.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I thought it was a really cute story. I just
- 14:38Speaker 2: felt like it lacked chemistry.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I feel like maybe you've stolen Wendy's first impression, even
- 14:43Speaker 1: though I don't very in line with the standard Wendy
- 14:47Speaker 1: first impression.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Go ahead, I have notes later on that my first impression,
- 14:52Speaker 2: and this may be an unpopular.
- 14:54Speaker 1: One, but it was much better than I expected it
- 14:57Speaker 1: to be.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Oh, so you came into this from a negative space Wendy.
- 15:04Speaker 1: As she always does it always always.
- 15:08Speaker 2: But we just came off of like this huge megastar
- 15:11Speaker 2: trilogy and then there's like this throwaway movie to wrap
- 15:16Speaker 2: up February. I thought it was going to be like
- 15:18Speaker 2: a real bummer, but okay, I kind of enjoyed it.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 15:24Speaker 1: My first impression is they chose the wrong romantic lead.
- 15:29Speaker 1: More on that later, okay, okay.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Also, I wanted to say what I wouldn't give to
- 15:36Speaker 2: be part of a Friday night supper club like that.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Oh my gosh right, yes, oh my god, it was
- 15:44Speaker 2: so fantastic. I'm like, oh, every every town needs a
- 15:48Speaker 2: place like this, every town needs a Mama's.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You're part of our family. Now, wine and give me
- 15:56Speaker 1: a big bull pasta, please, yeah, please.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I love that idea. I would like even if it
- 16:01Speaker 2: was just in my home, like every Friday night show up,
- 16:03Speaker 2: if you want to eat and hang out, you know,
- 16:05Speaker 2: that would be so well. I don't want to do
- 16:07Speaker 2: that because I don't like hosting things. But Megan, if
- 16:09Speaker 2: you needed to do that.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah of course I did it because I don't I
- 16:13Speaker 1: do that.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Hell yeah, we're gonna come over.
- 16:15Speaker 1: So because I could make a big vatapasta and pour
- 16:18Speaker 1: some red wine and just.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Talk about the week and each other and like, you know,
- 16:23Speaker 2: check in on everybody.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I just loved the idea.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Me too.
- 16:28Speaker 1: You know. My parents, as in the side, had like
- 16:30Speaker 1: a standard Friday night date with friends of theirs, not date,
- 16:33Speaker 1: like they would get together at each other's homes. Once
- 16:35Speaker 1: my brother and I got older, so when we were
- 16:38Speaker 1: like in our teens and didn't need a babysitter anymore,
- 16:41Speaker 1: like just every Friday night they would alternate, they would
- 16:43Speaker 1: go and just hang out. And I was like, that's
- 16:45Speaker 1: so nice. Not quite the same thing, but they had
- 16:48Speaker 1: that they knew.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I love that. I mean, I've been trying to get
- 16:52Speaker 2: together with my friends for like three months, like you
- 16:54Speaker 2: can't nail anything down, you know. I love that sort
- 16:57Speaker 2: of standing date and if you can make it great
- 16:59Speaker 2: and if you can't, that's okay, but you know, in
- 17:02Speaker 2: the absence of anything else, let's get together. I love that.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Indeed, let's talk about what we liked about this movie, specifically,
- 17:13Speaker 1: Laurie you can go first.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Oh okay, Well, I loved just the food, the food
- 17:18Speaker 2: porn of it all, because I love that in any film,
- 17:21Speaker 2: Just show me a lot of food that's photographed beautifully.
- 17:26Speaker 2: That's what I want to look at. I want to
- 17:28Speaker 2: look at a gorgeous kitchen. And I loved the interior
- 17:31Speaker 2: of the restaurant. I thought, you know, just the way
- 17:34Speaker 2: it was lit, and and anytime I get to see
- 17:37Speaker 2: a twinkle light, I enjoy that. So I just I
- 17:40Speaker 2: enjoyed the interior scenery that I really liked about the film.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Wendy, what you like?
- 17:48Speaker 2: This goes back to something Laurie said earlier. You know,
- 17:51Speaker 2: Hallmark movies have a tendency to tell us what happened,
- 17:55Speaker 2: like you know, so we understand. Like the backstory. I
- 17:59Speaker 2: loved that this one told it via flashback. It's I
- 18:03Speaker 2: think it's maybe the first time I've ever seen.
- 18:05Speaker 1: It done in a Hallmark movie. Yeah, yeah, I think
- 18:10Speaker 1: you're right, And that's my number one like as well.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I love the dual timeline telling Mama and Papa's origin story.
- 18:17Speaker 1: And up top at the beginning of the movie when
- 18:19Speaker 1: they're in the lawyer's office, I'm thinking, what is going on?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Why would she give her this restaurant? Why are these
- 18:25Speaker 1: two people? And I felt like that was going to
- 18:27Speaker 1: be my main complaint like I don't understand, And then
- 18:29Speaker 1: of course they answered all of those questions, and I
- 18:32Speaker 1: felt like we had a really full backstory. One of
- 18:36Speaker 1: the ways it worked for me is it didn't require
- 18:39Speaker 1: them to add in all these unnecessary subplots to fill time.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Is they could just focus on telling this story good points.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I can totally see that.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I liked Mama and Papa both young and old, perhaps
- 18:57Speaker 1: better than Amy and Frank. Oh so did I agreed.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Oh, they totally had more chemistry. Young Mama and Papa
- 19:03Speaker 2: totally had more chemistry. So yeah, I can totally see that.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah, And I was just rooting for them when they
- 19:09Speaker 1: were young. I liked, you know, their connection. When we
- 19:12Speaker 1: saw the adult Mama and Papa, I liked seeing the
- 19:16Speaker 1: day that they met. I believed in them.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I have a similar note. I wrote that down that
- 19:23Speaker 2: I liked the two actors who played young Mamba, and
- 19:26Speaker 2: I loved whoever did this styling and the costumes for
- 19:28Speaker 2: that era.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I just thought it was me too. Looked really good.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I thought her wedding dress was so pretty, so classic,
- 19:36Speaker 2: so just timeless looking. I loved it.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Anything else we liked, I mean, I liked.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Hot Frank I wrote down Hot Frank, Hot Frank.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I liked the back of the house staff in the restaurant,
- 19:50Speaker 1: sal and Christine and Lorenzo. They weren't back of the house,
- 19:53Speaker 1: but the support staff. I thought they were more the
- 19:56Speaker 1: heart of the restaurant again than Amy and Frank agree.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And seeing Maddi Fanikio in back to back Hallmark movies
- 20:04Speaker 2: made me very happy. I think he's so He's like
- 20:08Speaker 2: so subtly funny, and I'm here for that. I need
- 20:13Speaker 2: more Matty Fanico. Am I saying his name? No, how
- 20:17Speaker 2: do you say it?
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's like Pinocchio with Oh.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Why have I always call it Faniko? Okay whatever. I
- 20:24Speaker 2: like him and I need him in more more movies.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yes, I agree. I like the rooftop, you know what.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I like the rooftop too. That they I did too.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I hated the view for me.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Did we think did we think Mama overreacted to me?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Yes?
- 20:42Speaker 2: I mean, I'm like, chill out.
- 20:44Speaker 1: It's not that big of a deal.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Seriously, Like I thought their whole falling out was super weak.
- 20:50Speaker 2: You've known this girl since she was a kid. You're
- 20:54Speaker 2: basically like a maternal figure to her. You guys have
- 20:57Speaker 2: this strong, loving bond. How could something like this an
- 21:01Speaker 2: idea that Amy has to modernize Mama's even if it's
- 21:04Speaker 2: not what Mama wants. How could this be the thing?
- 21:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It was just it was weak. I needed more well,
- 21:13Speaker 2: And it's.
- 21:14Speaker 1: No wonder Amy comes into the restaurant determined to return
- 21:18Speaker 1: it to its roots. When this was her last interaction
- 21:20Speaker 1: with Mama, Mama telling her I like things the way
- 21:23Speaker 1: that they are, right, it was a little hard for
- 21:26Speaker 1: me to believe that actually Mama wanted you know, they
- 21:29Speaker 1: rewrote history like Mama wanted change and she wanted growth.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Hm.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But yes, Mama overreacted.
- 21:36Speaker 2: She did. I agree, Mama overreacted. And then I just
- 21:40Speaker 2: thought it was strange that they just sort of lost
- 21:43Speaker 2: touch here. They were so important in each other's lives,
- 21:46Speaker 2: they were fixtures and then just I don't know. I understand,
- 21:50Speaker 2: life gets in the way, but.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I mean, Mama took the time to write her that
- 21:55Speaker 1: letter using writing font.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Oh my god, that wasn't my list of wishes. I
- 22:05Speaker 2: wish someone had just handwritten a letter, because it's not
- 22:09Speaker 2: that hard.
- 22:10Speaker 1: No, I wrote, get a PA and put them to work.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Calm on.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Someone in there has okay handwriting.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Yes, right, didn't even have to be nice out loud anyway,
- 22:21Speaker 1: You didn't. I didn't even have to be to read it.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yes, agreed.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Okay, Well, since we've started talking about what we wished for,
- 22:30Speaker 1: what else did we wish for? From Welcome to Mama's.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I mean, like I said earlier, I wished for more
- 22:36Speaker 2: chemistry between Amy and Frank. I wished for more of
- 22:40Speaker 2: a backstory with Mama and Frank. And I wrote this
- 22:44Speaker 2: wish down and then they gave us some. Okay, I'll
- 22:47Speaker 2: be transparent about this because I was like, are they
- 22:49Speaker 2: not going to show us any interaction between Frank and
- 22:52Speaker 2: Mama at all?
- 22:53Speaker 1: No?
- 22:54Speaker 2: They did. They showed us some, but it didn't feel
- 22:56Speaker 2: like enough. I didn't really get a strong sense of
- 23:01Speaker 2: their connection. They wanted us to get there in a
- 23:04Speaker 2: real big hurry, you know, like they're telling us that
- 23:07Speaker 2: those two were close, but they share such little screen
- 23:12Speaker 2: time together that I just I would have enjoyed more.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah, the one from back to Our Roots to Modernizing
- 23:22Speaker 1: Frank's Fusion was a little bit of whiplash. It was
- 23:27Speaker 1: absolutely okay, I swear I am not just saying this
- 23:32Speaker 1: as a Maddie Finocchio, Stan, I think Maddie as Sal
- 23:36Speaker 1: was the better romantic match for Amy, and I wish
- 23:39Speaker 1: he had been the lead.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You wanted to interesting thought you wanted him as Frank.
- 23:46Speaker 1: No, I wanted him as Sal to be the lead.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And Frank is this like troublemaker is causing problems and
- 23:53Speaker 1: Sal is the go between trying to smooth things over.
- 23:56Speaker 2: And I mean Sal did eat the Biscatti was in
- 24:00Speaker 2: support of her.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I mean I like that idea too.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And here is another reason why Hallmark should call us,
- 24:08Speaker 2: because I think we're better writers than some.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Of these people that they hired.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Astag Justice for Maddie, Justice for Mattie. Like Lorie said,
- 24:19Speaker 2: I do feel like there was zero chemistry, zero passion
- 24:24Speaker 2: between Frank and Amy. They were just so boring together.
- 24:30Speaker 2: They were and it wasn't even like, you know, oh
- 24:33Speaker 2: I hate her, oh I hate him. We have this
- 24:36Speaker 2: you know, thin line between love and hate thing going on,
- 24:39Speaker 2: you know, where there's chemistry between them and their disdain
- 24:42Speaker 2: for each other. You didn't even get that, Like I
- 24:44Speaker 2: felt like a spark of something when they were cooking together.
- 24:48Speaker 2: That was arguably one of my favorite parts. You know,
- 24:52Speaker 2: when they were together in the kitchen and she was
- 24:54Speaker 2: going to cook for him, but he had to help
- 24:57Speaker 2: her along. And that was a cute little moment. I
- 25:00Speaker 2: love it when cobbles cooked together in movies. But it
- 25:04Speaker 2: was so fast, it just I don't know. There wasn't
- 25:07Speaker 2: enough there, okay, But they used box pasta, and I
- 25:11Speaker 2: had to stop at that because I was like, really,
- 25:13Speaker 2: a chef is going to use a boxed pasta?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Wouldn't he have made his own? But he did make
- 25:19Speaker 1: his own. She yes, she was right right.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Let me show you how mama did it. But Mama,
- 25:27Speaker 2: I don't think he used the box pasta that they
- 25:29Speaker 2: spilled all over the floor, right, they picked that up
- 25:32Speaker 2: and cook it? Are they?
- 25:32Speaker 1: I think hairs and bits of dust they boil it? Troll,
- 25:43Speaker 1: I don't know. Hair sticks to everything. Okay, I will
- 25:47Speaker 1: say that. I thought, well, okay, I think this movie
- 25:51Speaker 1: could have used a better lead act actor.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Didn't really like Melanie Scarafano or how you say her
- 25:59Speaker 2: name as Amy I. She was super stiff. I just yeah,
- 26:04Speaker 2: I just didn't like her. I just didn't like her.
- 26:07Speaker 2: She didn't have bangs.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Maybe she needs every busy curtain bangs.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Everybody loves a girl in bangs. It's just it's just
- 26:17Speaker 2: the way it goes.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Do you think that was an acting choice that because
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean, her character Amy is supposed to be uptight,
- 26:25Speaker 1: is supposed to be a little controlling. Or do you
- 26:28Speaker 1: think she's a virgo?
- 26:29Speaker 2: I think we can we can establish that.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Comes in with her color coded tabs, right, the fast system,
- 26:37Speaker 1: the fast system. Yes, well, I think you know, her
- 26:40Speaker 1: intention was to save the restaurant because it had been
- 26:43Speaker 1: in despair for the last couple of years or whatever,
- 26:45Speaker 1: and she had that experience. But I don't know. She
- 26:50Speaker 1: just was like even in her downtime, she was just
- 26:52Speaker 1: like boring.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah she was. She was boring. I agree, there was
- 26:58Speaker 2: not she didn't have like spirit. There was no spirit
- 27:02Speaker 2: in her. Yeah. No, she had like no energy. It
- 27:05Speaker 2: was just like a flatline the entire time. I thought,
- 27:09Speaker 2: I know, I don't like her.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I'm a fan of her on Twitter.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Okay, two girls, one cup.
- 27:16Speaker 1: She amuses me. I would suggest checking out her Twitter feed.
- 27:21Speaker 1: We discussed this at the top of the episode, but
- 27:24Speaker 1: there are so many shots of them, both from the
- 27:27Speaker 1: roof and then from the waterfront looking out at the
- 27:31Speaker 1: New York skyline. Over the water. It's so distracting to
- 27:38Speaker 1: me to see this, and they had done some digital
- 27:41Speaker 1: effect to the water to make it look like it
- 27:43Speaker 1: was moving, and I kept like, it was so distracting
- 27:47Speaker 1: to me. And then multiple times they throw their worry
- 27:49Speaker 1: stones into the water and they do like a.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Close up splash splash, Yeah, same splash every single time.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Right, yes, And I was like, could we not have
- 27:57Speaker 1: like this close up like and it took me out
- 28:02Speaker 1: of the moment.
- 28:03Speaker 2: However, I really liked that scene and that idea of
- 28:05Speaker 2: putting like that your worries into a stone and throwing
- 28:08Speaker 2: it away like into the water. I kind of I
- 28:11Speaker 2: like that too, connected to it, but agreed that the
- 28:14Speaker 2: way it was executed was super cheesy. Okay, and we
- 28:17Speaker 2: talked about it a little bit earlier, But Lorraine Broco,
- 28:20Speaker 2: I think she's like above this kind of work. However,
- 28:24Speaker 2: my favorite Gene Smart was in a Christmas movie a
- 28:26Speaker 2: couple of years ago. And so the question I have is,
- 28:29Speaker 2: why do you think these established actors who are getting
- 28:33Speaker 2: paid lots of money from other projects that they've done,
- 28:37Speaker 2: do these Hallmark movies. Do they do them just for fun,
- 28:39Speaker 2: just for work hobby?
- 28:41Speaker 1: What do you think.
- 28:42Speaker 2: You know, I just think there's not a lot of
- 28:44Speaker 2: space for women of a certain age anymore. And I
- 28:46Speaker 2: think that that's really a shame because it's my most
- 28:49Speaker 2: favorite thing.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I love to.
- 28:51Speaker 2: See women on you know, the other side of middle age.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I want to see them fall in love. I want
- 28:57Speaker 2: to see them do new things and try new things
- 29:01Speaker 2: and be outside their comfort zone. Like I want to
- 29:03Speaker 2: see these women that we have all grown up watching
- 29:07Speaker 2: on film and loving on film. They're so talented. I
- 29:10Speaker 2: want them to have more roles and I just don't
- 29:13Speaker 2: know that they're there, and I think this is just
- 29:15Speaker 2: an opportunity for them to just continue their craft. And
- 29:18Speaker 2: thank God, because I want to watch them.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I think that's a great point that I hadn't occurred
- 29:24Speaker 1: to me. One thing I was thinking is I think
- 29:27Speaker 1: actors like to work. And a Hallmark movie takes two
- 29:30Speaker 1: weeks to film, and so I feel like it's just
- 29:33Speaker 1: a fun project to take on. You're not dedicating three,
- 29:35Speaker 1: four or five six months of your life, you're not
- 29:38Speaker 1: signing on to a series. You're just making a movie
- 29:40Speaker 1: for a couple weeks. And I assume that people who
- 29:45Speaker 1: continue acting probably likes to work.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, Laurie, there is a movie that's coming up,
- 29:50Speaker 2: and Megan, can you remember the name of it that
- 29:54Speaker 2: features those actors that were on Er.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I can't remember the name of it, but I can
- 30:00Speaker 1: look it up.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Because Megan man talking for months that we need to
- 30:04Speaker 2: see older couples in these kind of stories. It doesn't
- 30:09Speaker 2: always need to be like this unmarried thirty year old
- 30:11Speaker 2: like show.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Okay, this is I think a second chance at love
- 30:18Speaker 1: is what it's called.
- 30:18Speaker 2: A second chance at love. I'm excited to see that.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's like when you talk about films
- 30:23Speaker 2: like as Good as It Gets and It's complicated, and
- 30:27Speaker 2: films that show, you know, older women falling in love.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Maybe they've maybe they're widows, or maybe they have just
- 30:36Speaker 2: not had good experiences in love and now is their
- 30:39Speaker 2: chance to find it. I don't know. It's just there's
- 30:41Speaker 2: something so heartwarming and beautiful about a love story between
- 30:47Speaker 2: people who have lived some life. I want to see
- 30:50Speaker 2: more of it.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Uh huh. It stars Gloria Rubin and Eric Wassalam, who
- 30:54Speaker 1: haven't bet on screen together since they were in Er together. Wow,
- 31:01Speaker 1: it is time for digitousye that and I've got some
- 31:06Speaker 1: things to talk about. But once again, Laurie, how about.
- 31:09Speaker 2: So my big questions are, how did Mama and Papa die?
- 31:15Speaker 2: I feel like I need to know that? And I
- 31:17Speaker 2: don't know why I need to know that as much
- 31:19Speaker 2: as I do, but I do.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I feel like.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I I'm not sad enough about Mama's death because I
- 31:24Speaker 2: don't know how she died. Why were they called Mama
- 31:29Speaker 2: and Papa? Why did they call each other mama and
- 31:33Speaker 2: papa any children? Because adult don't believe that they did,
- 31:37Speaker 2: because the kids were not involved in the reading of
- 31:39Speaker 2: the will or anything like that. And so what's up
- 31:44Speaker 2: with that? That would be like if my husband and
- 31:46Speaker 2: I called each other mom and dad or mother and father,
- 31:49Speaker 2: you know.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Like that's so weird to me?
- 31:53Speaker 2: Do I sometimes call my husband daddy, but not like
- 31:57Speaker 2: in a gross daddy way, like.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I do, not even like go daddy.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yes, not even like in a daddy way. You know,
- 32:08Speaker 2: it's no. It just started when the kids were young,
- 32:11Speaker 2: like oh golass, daddy, Da da da da. And it's
- 32:13Speaker 2: always said like daddy, like a name. It's not said
- 32:17Speaker 2: like like sexy, it's not said in any kind of
- 32:21Speaker 2: other way. But when it's just the two of us.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I don't call him that, but when the kids are around, like, oh, hey,
- 32:26Speaker 2: go ass daddy, what time he's gonna whatever? Whatever? You know,
- 32:29Speaker 2: it's all very matter of fact. But the fact that
- 32:31Speaker 2: they call each other Mama and Papa. Why why there's
- 32:35Speaker 2: no kids there? Yeah, why would she call her restaurant Mama's,
- 32:40Speaker 2: Like Mama's was that even talked about? No?
- 32:45Speaker 1: Well, I mean, if they call each other, I feel
- 32:48Speaker 1: like maybe this was a working Backwards're like, Mama's is
- 32:50Speaker 1: a great name for an Italian restaurant. How are we
- 32:53Speaker 1: going to get to Mama's? Okay, wait where he calls
- 32:56Speaker 1: mama and Papa.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Before they had the restaurant. I'm trying to remember.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I think I think they did in their early married days,
- 33:04Speaker 1: when they're in their tiny little apartment. I thought, maybe
- 33:10Speaker 1: we all they know them as Mama and Papa.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I think they referred to her first name
- 33:15Speaker 2: as being Maria, like once when they meet in the
- 33:19Speaker 2: something like that. Yeah, And so I don't know. I
- 33:26Speaker 2: had questions.
- 33:27Speaker 1: There's a scene early in the movie where Frank brings
- 33:30Speaker 1: out a sampler of everything that's on his menu to Aim,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I know what you're gonna say, So First of all,
- 33:38Speaker 1: I have issues with this scene. If you're going to
- 33:40Speaker 1: bring out a sampler, you don't make a giant plate
- 33:43Speaker 1: of each, Like, couldn't you make like a smaller piece
- 33:46Speaker 1: of all these things? She can't eat all this a
- 33:47Speaker 1: full branzy note, right. The issue is I think she
- 33:51Speaker 1: takes one bite of the pasta and she's like, oh spicy,
- 33:54Speaker 1: And she says, now that I've sampled Frank's fusion, bitch,
- 33:59Speaker 1: you took one a one.
- 34:02Speaker 2: You're right, I made that now, you are absolutely right?
- 34:06Speaker 2: Like you are such an asshole, Amy, Like, what are
- 34:09Speaker 2: you thinking? You're so rude?
- 34:11Speaker 1: How can you run a restaurant and have a comment
- 34:13Speaker 1: about his menu without tasting it?
- 34:16Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I know.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Also, there's a moment where they go somewhere I don't
- 34:22Speaker 1: remember what's happening, but she takes a bunch of money
- 34:25Speaker 1: out of her wallet, like a bunch of twenties. They're
- 34:28Speaker 1: so fake. I'm like, could there's nobody on this set
- 34:31Speaker 1: has actual money that they can use us a prop?
- 34:33Speaker 1: What is happening? Why are we printing me off on
- 34:36Speaker 1: a printer?
- 34:37Speaker 2: It was for the wine flight, and she took out
- 34:39Speaker 2: like eighty or one hundred bucks, and I was like,
- 34:43Speaker 2: wait a minute, and did she mentioned.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Have that wine flight by the way, because they don't
- 34:48Speaker 1: carry that at the restaurant. But how does she go
- 34:50Speaker 1: somewhere else and order Mama's flight?
- 34:53Speaker 2: Right, it's Mama's flight and it was Mama's face, like
- 34:56Speaker 2: Mama loved this spot, like what she also? I love
- 35:00Speaker 2: that cafe.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Also also to the wine flight, every single one of
- 35:04Speaker 1: those glasses was completely full. If you order a wine flight,
- 35:06Speaker 1: isn't it going to be like a quarter glass of wine? Yeah,
- 35:10Speaker 1: it's a sample.
- 35:11Speaker 2: No wonder it was so expensive.
- 35:14Speaker 1: There's a full bottle of winey, I know, glass what
- 35:20Speaker 1: you got?
- 35:20Speaker 2: Wendy Well, Miamisaphonia was on Hilert in this movie because
- 35:25Speaker 2: there were so many scenes where they were slurping and
- 35:29Speaker 2: eating and I could hear it and I wanted to
- 35:32Speaker 2: break my TV.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I just hated it so much that part. I noticed
- 35:39Speaker 1: it the most again in that tasting scene, and it
- 35:43Speaker 1: was so noticeable that I wondered if it was added
- 35:45Speaker 1: in post because how close are the onset mics that
- 35:50Speaker 1: they're picking up her chewing noises?
- 35:52Speaker 2: I mean they could have been like right over her head,
- 35:55Speaker 2: but still like I bet it was added in post,
- 35:58Speaker 2: but why would you add it? Like so many people
- 36:00Speaker 2: don't want to hear other people eating, So I'm like,
- 36:03Speaker 2: unless it was like to add that she really loved
- 36:07Speaker 2: the taste.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Of it, I don't know, add some fake restaurant background
- 36:12Speaker 1: like tinkling of silverware noises, you know, like if you
- 36:17Speaker 1: need something else going in the back. Also, oh sorry, no, go.
- 36:25Speaker 2: At the very end, when they're on the stupor wherever
- 36:30Speaker 2: they're at and they're doing their they kiss and they
- 36:33Speaker 2: do this like terrible. This was like at the very
- 36:36Speaker 2: very end of it, Megan, you probably turned it off already.
- 36:39Speaker 2: They were doing this like terrible, like force that box dance,
- 36:43Speaker 2: and then it had like the horrible green screen of
- 36:45Speaker 2: the New York Skyline in the back, and I was like, yes,
- 36:48Speaker 2: what is that happening? It just it was the cherry
- 36:52Speaker 2: on top that these two had no chemistry well, and
- 36:56Speaker 2: it was like the first step of their dance they
- 36:57Speaker 2: were trying to get into position because they both take
- 37:00Speaker 2: this giant step. Yes, yes, what is that?
- 37:03Speaker 1: Why would you not just start where you were?
- 37:06Speaker 2: It was?
- 37:07Speaker 1: I agree it was they were There were no lazy
- 37:10Speaker 1: Shabert dancer level ability.
- 37:14Speaker 2: No no, no, no.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Well, I'm very curious to hear what we've rated this
- 37:22Speaker 1: movie out of five stars. We used to do a
- 37:25Speaker 1: four star rating. We changed it for twenty twenty two.
- 37:27Speaker 1: So out of five stars, Lorie, what would you rate
- 37:30Speaker 1: Welcome to Mama's?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Okay? I would rate Welcome to Mama's a three out
- 37:35Speaker 2: of five simply because Lorraine Brocco, Yes, and the food porn.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Wendy, you liked it more than you thought you were
- 37:45Speaker 1: going to. What do you rate it? I rate it
- 37:49Speaker 1: two point seveny five stars.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Wo, It's very specific. I know, I I it's hard
- 37:58Speaker 2: for me, like because I have like this idea of
- 38:00Speaker 2: my first impression is says I liked it, But then
- 38:01Speaker 2: when I really start to break it down, I go,
- 38:03Speaker 2: I didn't really like it that much.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what it gets for me. I rated this
- 38:08Speaker 1: two point five stars.
- 38:10Speaker 2: I wow, I rated this higher than both of you.
- 38:15Speaker 2: How is this possible?
- 38:16Speaker 1: Can I change rating seventy five Hallmark movies that we've
- 38:19Speaker 1: watched in the last year. I know, we know what
- 38:23Speaker 1: a good Hallmark movie looks like to us. You know,
- 38:27Speaker 1: there were things that I liked about this movie, but
- 38:32Speaker 1: I'm not sure I enjoyed the experience of watching it
- 38:36Speaker 1: as a whole a lot. I didn't hate it. There
- 38:40Speaker 1: have been There's definitely worse movies. I could name five
- 38:44Speaker 1: off the top of my head, but I did not
- 38:47Speaker 1: love it. So next, Hallmark's doing a weird thing. I
- 38:54Speaker 1: feel like Hallmark cannot catch up from Countdown to Chris
- 39:00Speaker 1: miss Uh. They are calling their spring line up Spring
- 39:03Speaker 1: into Love, which is different last year it was Springfling. Fine,
- 39:06Speaker 1: but on the app the first movie in their Spring
- 39:10Speaker 1: into Love which is Feeling Butterflies on March.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Okay, I am so glad you brought that up. So
- 39:21Speaker 2: the commercial for this upcoming butterfly film played at every
- 39:26Speaker 2: commercial break, and I'm like, what the hell is this like?
- 39:32Speaker 2: Is it supposed to be so romantic? Just the butterfly
- 39:36Speaker 2: of it all? It seems like such a weird, like
- 39:40Speaker 2: a butterfly contest. What are we dealing with here? What
- 39:43Speaker 2: do we know about that film?
- 39:45Speaker 1: I mean that's literally what we know about the film.
- 39:47Speaker 1: But it's so many weird How annoying? Are the fake
- 39:50Speaker 1: butterflies going to be? Oh my god, it's Christmas movie.
- 39:55Speaker 2: It has Kevin McGary in it, though he's fun to watk.
- 40:00Speaker 1: He is fun to watch. I agree we will be
- 40:03Speaker 1: watching it, but I do feel like Hallmark is like
- 40:06Speaker 1: sliding in by the skin of their teeth on these
- 40:08Speaker 1: March movies. We do have a full week off. There
- 40:12Speaker 1: is no new movie this Saturday March. She's like thank God,
- 40:18Speaker 1: which feels like a personal birthday gift from Hallmark to wait. Yes,
- 40:22Speaker 1: happy birthday to me. Of course, we will be back
- 40:27Speaker 1: to discuss the March twelfth movie before we go. Laurie,
- 40:30Speaker 1: tell everybody where they can find you.
