really
0:21
going
0:21
to
0:22

0:23
before

we

our

1:32
Well
1:33
Tom,
1:33
welcome
1:33
to
1:34
The
1:34

1:35
Thanks
1:36
Marvin.
1:36
Glad
1:36
to
1:37
be
1:37
here.
1:37
Looking
1:37
forward
1:37
to
1:38
discussion.
1:39
Yeah,
1:39
me
1:39
too.
1:40
And
1:40
you
1:40
know
1:40
we
1:40
have
1:40
a
1:40
tradition
1:41
on
1:41
the
1:41
Articulate
1:41
Fly.
1:42
We
1:42
like
1:42
to
1:42
ask
1:42
all
1:42
of
1:43
our
1:43
guests
1:43
to
1:43
share
1:43
their
1:44
earliest
1:44
fishing
1:44
memory.
1:46
Well,
1:49
so
1:50
I
1:51
wouldn't
1:51
say
1:51
actual
1:52
fishing
1:52
memory,
1:52
but
1:53
when
1:54
I
1:54
grew
1:54
up
1:54
and
1:54
I
1:54
was
1:54
a
1:55
young
1:55
lad
1:55
of
1:55
maybe
1:55
five
1:56
or
1:56
six
1:56
years
1:56
old,
1:56
we
1:57
lived
1:57
in
1:57
a,
1:58
in
1:58
a
1:58
development
1:59
like
1:59
50s
1:59
style
2:00
homes
2:00
and
2:01
at
2:01
the
2:01
end
2:01
of
2:01
our
2:01
driveway
2:02
there
2:02
was
2:02
like
2:02
a
2:02
slight
2:02
depression
2:03
and
2:04
actually
2:05
a
2:05
puddle
2:06
would
2:06
form
2:06
there
2:07
at
2:07
the
2:07
end
2:07
of
2:07
a
2:07
rainstorm.
2:08
And
2:09
you
2:10
would
2:10
often
2:10
find
2:11
me
2:11
after
2:11
a
2:11
rainstorm
2:12
sitting
2:12
there
2:12
with
2:12
a
2:12
stick
2:13
with
2:13
a
2:13
string
2:13
tied
2:14
to
2:14
it
2:14
and
2:14
cast
2:14
into
2:15
this
2:15
puddle.
2:15
So
2:16
I
2:16
don't
2:16
know
2:17
if
2:17
that's
2:17
an
2:17
actual
2:17
fishing
2:18
memory
2:18
but
2:19
and
2:19
then
2:19
I,
2:20
I
2:20
really
2:20
had
2:20
a
2:20
bed
2:21
because
2:23
in
2:23
the
2:23
backyard
2:24
where
2:24
the
2:24
Norway
2:25
maple
2:25
grew
2:26
there
2:27
was,
2:28
there
2:28
was
2:28
no
2:28
grass
2:29
grew
2:29
there
2:29
and
2:29
I,
2:29
I
2:30
would
2:30
dig
2:30
trenches
2:31
down
2:31
through
2:31
the
2:31
yard
2:31
there
2:32
and
2:32
run
2:32
a
2:32
garden
2:33
hose
2:33
and
2:33
run
2:33
water
2:34
through
2:34
there
2:34
and
2:34
set
2:34
my
2:35
army
2:35
men
2:35
up
2:35
like
2:35
they
2:36
were
2:36
fishing.
2:36
So.
2:37
But
2:38
my
2:38
earliest,
2:39
actual
2:39
earliest
2:40
fishing
2:41
memory
2:43
was
2:44
probably
2:44
when
2:45
I
2:45
was
2:45
10
2:45
years
2:45
old.
2:46
My
2:46
daddy,
2:48
he
2:48
had
2:48
bought
2:48
a
2:49
brand
2:50
new
2:50
Volkswagen
2:51
Beetle
2:52
1967
2:54
and
2:54
he
2:54
loaded
2:55
it
2:55
up
2:55
with
2:55
a
2:56
tent
2:56
and
2:56
fishing
2:57
gear
2:57
and
2:58
we
2:58
drove
2:58
to
2:59
Clinton
2:59
county
2:59
in
2:59
Pennsylvania,
3:01
which
3:01
was
3:01
about
3:02
back
3:02
then,
3:02
it
3:03
was
3:03
probably
3:03
like
3:03
a
3:03
six
3:03
hour
3:04
drive
3:05
with
3:05
a
3:06
canvas
3:06
wall
3:06
tent
3:07
and
3:07
we
3:07
fished
3:07
for
3:07
brook
3:07
trout
3:08
and
3:09
with
3:09
fly
3:09
rods.
3:10
So
3:11
that's
3:12
my
3:12
earliest
3:12
fishing
3:13
memory
3:13
that
3:13
I
3:13
can
3:14
come
3:14
back
3:14
with.
3:14
Actual
3:14
fishing
3:15
with
3:16
my
3:16
father.
3:17
It
3:17
was
3:18
awesome.
3:18
And
3:18
I
3:19
felt
3:19
like
3:19
I
3:19
was,
3:19
I
3:20
might
3:20
as
3:20
well
3:20
be
3:20
in
3:20
Alaska,
3:21
you
3:21
know,
3:21
when
3:21
we
3:21
were
3:22
up
3:22
there
3:22
camping
3:22
out.
3:23
So
3:23
it
3:23
was
3:24
a
3:24
great
3:24
time.
3:24
So
3:25
yeah,
3:25
very,
3:25
very
3:26
neat.
3:26
And
3:26
so
3:26
did
3:26
you
3:26
stick
3:27
with
3:27
fly
3:27
fishing
3:28
or
3:28
did
3:28
you
3:28
have
3:28
to
3:28
kind
3:28
of
3:28
come
3:29
back
3:29
to
3:29
it
3:29
later
3:29
in
3:30
your
3:30
fishing
3:30
career?
3:31
I
3:31
did,
3:32
there
3:33
was
3:33
a
3:33
couple
3:33
times
3:34
when
3:34
I
3:34
was
3:34
in
3:35
my
3:35
teens,
3:35
in
3:35
my
3:36
20s
3:36
and
3:37
where
3:37
I
3:37
may
3:38
have
3:38
picked
3:38
up
3:38
a
3:38
spinning
3:39
rod
3:39
to,
3:39
to,
3:40
to
3:41
fish
3:41
for
3:42
trout.
3:42
I
3:43
know
3:44
from
3:44
work
3:44
a
3:44
couple
3:45
of
3:45
us
3:45
would
3:45
go
3:45
to
3:46
Potter
3:47
county
3:47
for
3:47
first
3:47
day
3:47
of
3:48
trout
3:48
season
3:48
and
3:48
you
3:49
know,
3:49
I'd
3:49
have
3:49
a
3:49
spinning
3:50
rod
3:50
and
3:50
fish
3:50
with
3:50
minis.
3:51
But
3:51
basically
3:52
it
3:52
was
3:52
always
3:52
a
3:52
fly
3:53
rod.
3:53
And
3:53
for
3:54
the
3:54
past,
3:54
oh
3:54
gosh,
3:56
40
3:56
years
3:57
now
3:57
it's
3:57
been,
3:58
I've
3:58
had
3:58
the
3:58
fly
3:59
rod
3:59
in
3:59
my
3:59
hands.
3:59
I
4:00
never
4:00
even
4:00
really
4:01
thought
4:01
about
4:01
any
4:01
other
4:02
type
4:02
of
4:02
fishing.
4:03
So
4:04
yeah,
4:04
fly
4:04
fishing
4:04
has
4:05
been
4:05
my
4:05
daddy
4:05
fly
4:06
fished
4:06
and
4:07
he
4:08
was
4:08
my,
4:08
my
4:08
mentor
4:09
back
4:09
then.
4:09
And
4:10
that's
4:11
where
4:11
I,
4:12
that's
4:13
where
4:13
my
4:13
love
4:13
of
4:13
fly
4:14
fishing
4:14
came
4:14
from
4:14
from
4:15
very
4:16
early
4:16
on.
4:16
So
4:17
very,
4:18
very
4:18
neat.
4:18
And
4:18
obviously
4:19
you
4:19
know,
4:19
you
4:19
live
4:19
and
4:20
fish
4:20
in
4:20
kind
4:20
of
4:20
one
4:21
of
4:21
the
4:21
cradles
4:21
of
4:21
American
4:22
fly
4:22
fishing
4:23
in
4:23
Pennsylvania.
4:24
Were
4:24
there
4:24
some
4:25
folks,
4:26
you
4:26
know,
4:26
other
4:26
than
4:26
your
4:27
dad
4:27
that
4:27
kind
4:27
of
4:27
helped
4:27
your
4:27
development
4:28
as
4:28
an
4:28
angler?
4:30
Yeah,
4:32
that's
4:33
an
4:33
interesting
4:33
question
4:34
because
4:34
back
4:36
what
4:37
I
4:37
remember,
4:38
Marvin,
4:38
back
4:39
in
4:39
the
4:39
60s
4:39
and
4:39
70s
4:40
in
4:40
my
4:40
area,
4:42
as
4:42
I
4:42
was
4:42
growing
4:43
up
4:43
through
4:43
my
4:43
teen
4:43
years
4:44
into
4:44
my
4:44
twenties,
4:44
fly
4:45
fishing
4:45
wasn't
4:45
really
4:46
a
4:46
thing
4:46
in
4:46
this
4:46
area.
4:47
Even
4:48
though
4:48
it
4:48
was
4:48
close
4:48
to
4:48
Carlisle
4:49
and
4:49
the
4:49
Spring
4:50
Creeks
4:50
in
4:50
Pennsylvania.
4:51
Carlisle,
4:51
where,
4:53
where
4:53
the
4:53
legends,
4:54
you
4:55
know,
4:55
push
4:55
fly
4:55
fishing.
4:56
It
4:56
really
4:56
didn't
4:56
take
4:57
off
4:57
here.
4:57
So
4:58
other
4:59
than
4:59
my
4:59
father,
5:00
I
5:00
really
5:00
didn't
5:01
have
5:01
any
5:02
other
5:02
mentors.
5:02
I
5:03
mean
5:04
he
5:05
worked
5:05
in
5:05
the
5:06
foundry
5:06
as
5:06
a
5:06
motor
5:07
his
5:07
entire
5:08
life.
5:08
And
5:08
during
5:08
the
5:08
week
5:09
he
5:09
really
5:09
did
5:09
have
5:09
the
5:09
energy,
5:10
understandable
5:11
with
5:11
that
5:11
type
5:11
of
5:11
lifestyle
5:12
to
5:13
take
5:13
me
5:13
fishing.
5:14
So
5:14
I
5:14
load
5:14
up
5:14
my
5:15
gear
5:15
and
5:15
put
5:15
it
5:15
on
5:15
my
5:15
bike
5:16
and
5:16
ride
5:17
a
5:17
local
5:17
stream
5:18
and
5:18
I
5:19
pretty
5:19
much
5:19
self
5:20
taught
5:20
through
5:20
fly
5:20
fishing.
5:21
And
5:21
tying.
5:23
Then
5:24
when
5:24
I
5:24
got
5:24
my
5:25
driver's
5:25
license
5:25
around
5:26
16
5:26
or
5:26
17,
5:27
my
5:27
whole
5:27
world
5:27
opened
5:28
up
5:28
then.
5:28
But
5:29
other
5:29
than
5:29
my
5:29
father,
5:30
I
5:30
really
5:30
didn't
5:31
have
5:31
any
5:31
strong
5:31
mentors
5:32
other
5:32
than.
5:33
And
5:34
the
5:34
books
5:34
I
5:34
read,
5:34
you
5:35
know,
5:35
I
5:35
would
5:35
read
5:38
lots
5:38
of
5:38
fly
5:39
fishing
5:39
books.
5:39
I
5:39
go
5:39
to
5:40
the
5:40
library
5:40
and
5:41
get
5:41
books
5:41
out.
5:42
But
5:43
other
5:43
than
5:43
personal.
5:44
Personal
5:45
mentorships,
5:46
I
5:46
never
5:47
really
5:47
had
5:47
that,
5:47
other
5:47
than
5:48
my
5:48
daddy.
5:49
Yeah,
5:49
it's
5:49
pretty
5:50
neat,
5:50
too.
5:50
You
5:50
know,
5:50
kind
5:50
of
5:51
back
5:51
in
5:51
that
5:51
time,
5:51
I'm
5:51
a
5:52
little
5:52
bit
5:52
younger
5:52
than
5:52
you
5:52
are,
5:52
but,
5:53
you
5:53
know,
5:53
the
5:53
mail
5:53
would
5:53
come
5:54
in,
5:54
you'd
5:54
get
5:54
filled
5:54
and
5:54
streamed
5:55
and
5:55
all
5:55
these
5:55
magazines
5:56
and
5:56
catalogs.
5:57
And
5:57
it
5:57
was
5:57
just
5:57
absolutely.
5:58
It
5:58
was
5:58
just
5:58
awesome,
5:59
right?
5:59
Yeah,
6:00
yeah.
6:00
Yep,
6:00
absolutely.
6:01
So,
6:01
yeah,
6:02
you
6:02
know,
6:02
I.
6:03
I
6:03
did
6:03
one
6:03
of
6:03
the
6:03
things
6:04
that.
6:05
That
6:05
he
6:05
did
6:06
teach
6:06
me
6:07
that
6:07
I
6:07
still
6:08
take
6:08
to
6:09
this
6:09
day.
6:11
And
6:11
when
6:12
I.
6:12
When
6:12
I
6:12
teach
6:13
fly
6:13
fishing
6:14
classes,
6:15
I
6:15
always
6:15
bring
6:15
this
6:16
up.
6:16
And
6:16
when
6:16
I'm
6:16
guiding,
6:17
always
6:17
tell
6:17
people.
6:18
People
6:18
this.
6:18
It
6:19
was
6:19
always
6:19
about
6:19
the
6:19
presentation.
6:20
And
6:20
he
6:20
always
6:20
told
6:20
me,
6:21
he
6:21
said,
6:22
it's
6:22
about
6:22
the
6:22
presentation.
6:23
Okay.
6:24
It's
6:24
not
6:24
about
6:24
the
6:24
fly
6:25
or
6:25
the
6:26
color
6:26
of
6:26
the
6:26
fly.
6:26
It's
6:27
about
6:27
the
6:27
presentation.
6:28
It's
6:28
got
6:28
to
6:28
be
6:28
dead
6:28
on.
6:29
He
6:29
said,
6:30
think
6:30
of
6:30
yourself
6:31
standing
6:31
out
6:31
in
6:31
the
6:31
middle
6:32
of
6:32
a
6:32
field
6:32
on
6:33
a
6:33
windy
6:33
day,
6:34
and
6:34
the
6:34
balloon's
6:35
floating
6:35
towards
6:35
you
6:36
in
6:36
the
6:36
air.
6:37
And
6:37
all
6:37
of
6:37
a
6:37
sudden
6:37
that
6:37
balloon
6:38
stops,
6:39
speeds
6:40
up
6:40
or
6:40
goes
6:40
off
6:40
the
6:40
side.
6:41
He
6:41
said,
6:41
you're
6:41
going
6:41
to
6:41
think
6:42
you're
6:42
in
6:42
the
6:42
twilight
6:42
zone.
6:44
And
6:45
he
6:45
said,
6:45
that
6:45
trout
6:46
is
6:46
sitting
6:46
there
6:46
in
6:46
the
6:46
stream
6:47
with
6:47
his
6:47
face
6:47
into
6:48
the
6:48
wind,
6:48
into
6:49
the
6:49
current,
6:49
and
6:50
all
6:50
day
6:50
long
6:50
he's
6:51
seeing
6:52
all
6:52
this
6:52
debris
6:52
float
6:53
by
6:53
him
6:53
and
6:54
nymphs
6:54
float
6:54
by
6:55
him.
6:55
And
6:55
he's
6:55
just
6:55
sitting
6:55
there
6:55
picking
6:56
them
6:56
off.
6:56
Now
6:56
here
6:56
comes
6:56
your
6:57
offering
6:57
your
6:57
nymph.
6:58
And
6:59
all
6:59
of
6:59
a
6:59
sudden
6:59
it
6:59
speeds
7:00
up
7:00
or
7:00
slows
7:00
down
7:00
or
7:01
goes
7:01
off
7:01
the
7:01
side.
7:01
He
7:02
won't
7:02
take,
7:02
you
7:03
know,
7:03
because
7:03
it's
7:03
not
7:03
natural.
7:04
He
7:05
always
7:05
said,
7:05
it's
7:05
about
7:06
the
7:06
presentation.
7:07
So,
7:07
yeah,
7:09
very,
7:09
very
7:10
neat.
7:10
And
7:10
so
7:10
when
7:10
did
7:11
you
7:11
kind
7:11
of
7:11
get
7:11
the.
7:11
Get
7:12
the
7:12
bug
7:12
to
7:12
start
7:12
fly
7:13
tying?
7:14
Well,
7:15
that
7:15
was
7:16
soon
7:16
after
7:16
we
7:17
returned
7:17
from
7:17
that
7:17
trip
7:17
in
7:18
Clinton
7:18
County.
7:20
They
7:20
took
7:21
me
7:21
on.
7:23
And
7:23
you
7:23
mentioned
7:24
field
7:24
and
7:24
stream.
7:25
I
7:25
don't
7:25
know
7:25
if
7:26
I
7:26
think
7:26
it
7:27
was
7:27
Field
7:27
and
7:27
Stream
7:28
or
7:28
Outdoor
7:28
Life.
7:28
They
7:28
had
7:28
like
7:29
an
7:29
insert
7:29
in
7:29
the
7:30
middle
7:30
of
7:30
it
7:30
that
7:30
you
7:30
could
7:30
pull
7:31
out.
7:32
And
7:33
it
7:33
was
7:33
like
7:33
a
7:33
different.
7:34
It
7:34
was
7:34
like
7:35
a
7:36
paper
7:36
type
7:38
fabric
7:39
that
7:39
was
7:39
in
7:39
it,
7:39
and
7:39
it
7:40
had
7:40
all
7:40
kind
7:40
of
7:40
neat
7:40
stuff
7:41
in
7:41
it.
7:41
And
7:41
there
7:41
was
7:41
something
7:41
in
7:41
there
7:42
about
7:42
fly
7:42
tying.
7:43
Oh,
7:43
that's
7:44
pretty
7:44
cool.
7:44
So
7:46
I
7:46
walked
7:46
upstairs
7:47
and
7:47
got
7:47
into
7:47
my
7:48
mom's
7:48
sewing
7:48
kit
7:49
and
7:49
got
7:49
some
7:50
yarn
7:50
and
7:51
some
7:51
thread
7:51
and
7:52
got
7:52
a
7:52
mustad
7:53
bait
7:53
hook
7:53
from
7:54
down
7:54
the
7:54
basement
7:55
from
7:55
that.
7:55
And
7:56
I
7:57
wrapped
7:57
thread
7:57
around
7:58
this
7:58
hook
7:58
and
7:59
tied
7:59
on
8:00
this
8:00
yarn.
8:00
And
8:01
that
8:01
was
8:01
my
8:01
first
8:01
fly.
8:02
That's
8:02
my
8:02
memory
8:02
of
8:03
my
8:03
very
8:03
first
8:03
fly
8:04
I
8:04
tied,
8:04
you
8:04
know,
8:04
so,
8:05
yeah,
8:06
it
8:06
started
8:06
pretty
8:07
early,
8:07
at
8:07
the
8:07
age
8:07
of
8:07
10.
8:09
Interesting.
8:09
And
8:09
so
8:10
do
8:10
you,
8:10
do
8:11
you
8:11
remember
8:11
your
8:11
first
8:12
vice?
8:13
Yeah,
8:14
so,
8:16
so
8:16
I
8:16
actually
8:17
tied,
8:17
you
8:18
know,
8:18
I
8:18
started,
8:19
I
8:19
thought
8:19
it
8:19
was
8:19
so
8:19
cool,
8:20
fly
8:20
tying.
8:20
So,
8:22
you
8:22
know,
8:22
I,
8:23
I
8:23
tied,
8:23
I
8:24
got
8:24
magazines
8:25
and,
8:25
and
8:27
when
8:27
daddy
8:28
would
8:28
go
8:28
hunting,
8:28
you
8:28
know,
8:29
you
8:29
get
8:29
the
8:29
pheasants
8:30
and,
8:30
and,
8:30
and,
8:30
and,
8:31
and
8:31
the
8:31
grouse
8:31
and
8:32
I
8:32
get
8:32
the
8:32
feathers
8:32
from
8:32
that
8:33
and,
8:33
and
8:34
squirrel
8:34
tails.
8:35
That
8:36
sounds
8:37
kind
8:37
of
8:38
bad,
8:38
but
8:38
when
8:38
we
8:38
were
8:38
driving
8:39
down
8:39
the
8:39
road
8:39
and
8:40
there
8:40
was
8:40
a
8:40
dead
8:40
squirrel
8:40
in
8:41
the
8:41
road,
8:41
we
8:41
jumped
8:41
out,
8:41
cut
8:41
the
8:42
tail
8:42
off.
8:42
That
8:42
was
8:42
our,
8:43
that
8:43
was
8:43
some
8:43
of
8:43
our
8:43
flight
8:43
time.
8:44
That's
8:44
how
8:44
we
8:44
got
8:44
fly
8:44
time
8:45
material
8:45
back
8:45
then.
8:46
But
8:48
then
8:50
I
8:51
actually
8:51
tied
8:51
in
8:51
hand
8:52
because
8:52
I
8:52
didn't
8:53
know
8:53
about
8:53
vices.
8:53
You
8:54
know,
8:54
I
8:54
tied
8:54
in
8:55
hand,
8:55
holding
8:55
the
8:55
hook
8:56
in
8:56
my
8:56
hand
8:56
for
8:56
a
8:56
couple
8:57
years.
8:58
And
8:58
then
8:58
I
8:58
was
8:58
down
8:58
in
8:59
the
8:59
basement
8:59
and
8:59
dad's
8:59
big
9:00
old
9:00
bench
9:00
vice
9:01
was
9:01
there
9:01
and
9:02
I
9:02
thought,
9:02
well,
9:02
you
9:03
dummy,
9:03
why
9:03
don't
9:03
you
9:03
just
9:03
put
9:04
the
9:04
hook
9:04
in
9:04
there?
9:04
That
9:05
way
9:05
you
9:05
don't
9:05
have
9:05
to
9:05
hold
9:05
it
9:05
anymore.
9:07
So
9:07
dad's
9:07
big
9:07
old
9:08
bench
9:08
vise
9:08
that
9:08
he
9:09
used
9:09
to
9:09
sharpen
9:09
mower
9:10
blades
9:10
was
9:10
actually
9:10
my
9:11
first
9:11
fly
9:11
tying
9:12
vise.
9:13
And
9:13
then,
9:14
and
9:14
then
9:15
from
9:16
mowing
9:16
some
9:16
lawns
9:17
I
9:17
did
9:17
get
9:18
when
9:18
I
9:18
was
9:19
17
9:19
or
9:19
18,
9:19
I
9:20
got
9:20
a
9:20
Thompson
9:21
pro,
9:21
a
9:22
vice
9:23
clamp
9:24
on
9:24
type
9:24
vice
9:25
that
9:25
I
9:25
actually
9:25
tied
9:26
on
9:26
for.
9:27
Oh
9:28
man,
9:28
for
9:28
probably
9:29
10
9:30
or
9:30
15
9:30
years.
9:31
So.
9:31
Yeah,
9:32
but
9:32
my,
9:32
my
9:33
first
9:33
vice
9:33
was
9:33
dad's
9:34
bench
9:34
vise
9:35
that
9:35
he
9:35
had
9:35
down
9:35
in
9:35
the
9:35
basement.
9:36
So
9:37
very,
9:37
very
9:37
cool.
9:38
What
9:38
do
9:38
you
9:38
tie,
9:39
what
9:39
do
9:39
you
9:39
tie
9:39
on
9:39
today?
9:41
Actually,
9:41
two,
9:43
I
9:43
have
9:43
a
9:44
regal
9:44
revolution
9:46
that
9:46
I
9:47
tie
9:47
on
9:47
and
9:47
also
9:48
for
9:48
my
9:49
artistic
9:50
style
9:50
ties
9:52
and
9:52
my
9:52
classic
9:53
feather
9:53
wings,
9:54
I
9:54
have
9:55
a
9:55
Catarelli
9:55
T.
9:55
Rex.
9:56
It's
9:56
an
9:56
Italian
9:56
vice
9:57
and
9:57
it
9:57
actually
9:58
has
9:59
two
9:59
jaws
9:59
on
9:59
it.
10:00
And
10:01
the
10:01
reason
10:02
it
10:02
has
10:02
these
10:02
two
10:03
jaws
10:03
that
10:04
some
10:04
of
10:05
the
10:05
hooks
10:05
that
10:05
I
10:05
tie
10:06
on.
10:06
Well,
10:06
a
10:06
lot
10:06
of
10:06
the
10:06
hooks
10:06
I
10:07
tie
10:07
on
10:07
are
10:07
presentation
10:08
hooks
10:08
and
10:09
you
10:09
don't
10:09
want
10:09
to
10:09
scratch
10:09
the
10:09
finish
10:10
on
10:10
them.
10:12
So
10:12
these
10:12
two
10:12
jaws
10:14
grip
10:14
that
10:14
hook
10:15
in
10:15
two
10:15
different
10:15
locations,
10:16
you
10:16
know,
10:16
on
10:17
the
10:17
bend.
10:18
And
10:18
you
10:18
hardly
10:19
have
10:19
to
10:19
put
10:19
any
10:19
pressure
10:20
on
10:20
that
10:21
on
10:21
the
10:21
surface
10:22
of
10:22
that
10:22
hook
10:22
for
10:22
it
10:22
to
10:23
hold
10:23
steady.
10:23
So
10:23
the
10:24
cotteroy
10:24
T.
10:24
Rex
10:25
is
10:25
when
10:25
I
10:25
tie
10:26
my
10:27
featherings
10:27
on.
10:27
So.
10:28
Got
10:28
it.
10:29
Which
10:29
is
10:29
a
10:29
perfect
10:29
segue
10:30
into
10:30
my
10:30
next
10:30
question,
10:30
which
10:31
is
10:31
you
10:31
go
10:31
from,
10:31
you
10:32
know,
10:32
tying
10:33
yarn
10:33
flies
10:34
on
10:34
mustad
10:34
hooks
10:34
in
10:35
your
10:35
hand
10:35
to
10:36
tying
10:36
Atlantic
10:36
salmon
10:37
flies,
10:38
you
10:38
know,
10:39
and.
10:39
And
10:39
I
10:39
would
10:39
say
10:40
there
10:40
are
10:40
a
10:40
lot
10:40
of
10:40
people
10:40
that
10:40
are
10:41
crazy
10:41
about
10:41
tying,
10:41
but
10:42
you.
10:42
Very
10:42
few
10:43
of
10:43
them
10:43
get
10:43
drawn
10:43
into
10:44
the
10:44
world
10:44
of
10:44
tying
10:45
Atlantic
10:45
salmon
10:46
flies.
10:46
What
10:46
attracted
10:47
you
10:47
to
10:47
that?
10:49
That's
10:49
a
10:49
good
10:49
question.
10:50
So
10:52
That's
10:53
a
10:53
very
10:53
good
10:53
question.
10:54
So
10:55
I
10:56
guess
10:56
what
10:56
really
10:57
attracted
10:57
me
10:57
to
10:57
it
10:58
is
10:58
the
10:59
color
10:59
of
10:59
it,
10:59
of
10:59
it
11:00
all.
11:01
Like,
11:01
I
11:01
see
11:01
these
11:02
pictures.
11:02
I
11:02
saw
11:02
these
11:02
pictures
11:03
of
11:03
the
11:03
green
11:03
highlander
11:04
and
11:04
the
11:04
Jock
11:04
Scott,
11:05
and
11:06
just
11:08
the
11:08
natural
11:08
material
11:09
that
11:09
was
11:09
used
11:09
to
11:09
tie
11:10
these
11:10
patterns
11:11
just
11:11
intrigued
11:12
me
11:12
so
11:12
much,
11:12
you
11:12
know,
11:13
like
11:13
the
11:13
married
11:14
wings.
11:14
How
11:14
do
11:14
you
11:15
do
11:15
that?
11:15
How's
11:15
all
11:15
that
11:16
done?
11:16
You
11:16
know,
11:16
and
11:17
little
11:17
did
11:17
I
11:18
know
11:18
that
11:19
there's
11:19
so
11:19
much.
11:20
Such
11:20
a
11:20
huge
11:21
learning
11:21
curve
11:21
to
11:22
do
11:22
it.
11:23
And
11:24
I
11:24
guess
11:24
that's
11:24
what
11:25
it
11:25
was.
11:25
The
11:25
color
11:25
and
11:26
the
11:26
techniques
11:26
that.
11:27
That
11:28
I
11:29
knew
11:30
would.
11:30
Would
11:31
be
11:31
a
11:32
learning
11:32
experience
11:32
for
11:33
me
11:34
to
11:34
gain.
11:35
And
11:36
I
11:36
just
11:36
was.
11:37
I
11:38
just
11:38
was
11:38
intrigued
11:38
by
11:38
it
11:38
all.
11:39
So
11:39
that's
11:39
really
11:39
what.
11:40
What
11:41
attracted
11:41
me
11:41
to
11:41
it
11:43
all
11:43
that
11:43
was
11:44
involved
11:44
to
11:44
tying
11:44
this.
11:45
This
11:45
complex
11:46
fly.
11:46
I
11:46
just.
11:47
I
11:47
just
11:47
needed
11:47
to
11:47
know
11:48
how
11:48
to
11:48
do
11:48
it.
11:49
So.
11:49
Yeah.
11:50
Very
11:51
neat.
11:51
And
11:51
so,
11:51
you
11:52
know.
11:52
How
11:52
long
11:52
have
11:52
you
11:52
been
11:52
tying
11:53
salmon
11:53
flies?
11:54
I've
11:54
been
11:55
tying
11:55
salmon
11:55
flies
11:56
now
11:56
for
11:56
probably,
11:58
I
11:58
say,
11:59
35
11:59
years.
12:01
The
12:01
artistic
12:02
style,
12:02
where
12:03
I
12:03
kind
12:03
of
12:04
got
12:04
away
12:04
from.
12:06
Or
12:06
freestyle,
12:07
if
12:07
you
12:07
would.
12:07
It's
12:08
probably
12:08
been
12:08
like
12:09
25
12:09
years.
12:11
And
12:12
the
12:12
reason
12:12
I.
12:13
I
12:13
kind
12:13
of.
12:14
I
12:14
mean,
12:15
I.
12:15
I
12:15
still
12:15
tie
12:15
the
12:16
classic
12:16
patterns,
12:17
but
12:18
I
12:18
like
12:18
to
12:19
think
12:19
outside
12:20
the
12:20
box,
12:20
you
12:21
know,
12:21
on
12:21
my
12:22
tying.
12:22
And
12:22
I
12:22
would
12:23
suggest
12:24
any
12:24
type
12:25
of
12:25
tire,
12:25
whether
12:26
it's
12:26
tying
12:27
bass
12:27
flies
12:27
or
12:27
trout
12:28
flies
12:28
or
12:28
nymphs
12:29
or
12:29
whatever,
12:30
it's
12:30
not
12:30
necessary
12:32
to
12:32
follow
12:32
a
12:32
particular
12:33
pattern
12:33
that's
12:34
in
12:34
a
12:34
book,
12:34
you
12:35
know,
12:35
make
12:35
it
12:35
your
12:35
own.
12:36
And
12:37
that's
12:37
what
12:37
I
12:38
tell
12:38
folks
12:38
that
12:38
I'm
12:38
teaching
12:39
tying
12:39
to.
12:39
You
12:40
know,
12:40
you
12:40
don't
12:40
have
12:40
to
12:40
follow
12:41
this
12:41
specific
12:41
pattern.
12:42
Make
12:42
it
12:42
your
12:42
own
12:42
pattern
12:43
and
12:44
substitute,
12:44
you
12:44
know,
12:45
colors,
12:45
whatever.
12:45
And
12:47
that's
12:47
what
12:47
I
12:47
enjoy
12:47
about
12:48
the
12:48
freestyle
12:49
or
12:49
the
12:49
artistic
12:50
style
12:50
of
12:51
feathering
12:53
flies.
12:53
So,
12:55
yeah,
12:55
it's.
12:55
It's
12:56
neat,
12:56
too,
12:56
right?
12:56
Because
12:56
it's
12:57
a
12:57
very.
12:57
The
12:57
community
12:58
that
12:58
ties
12:58
these
12:59
flies.
12:59
It's
12:59
international
13:00
and
13:00
it's
13:00
very
13:01
close,
13:01
even
13:01
though
13:02
it's
13:02
very
13:02
distributed.
13:03
And
13:03
I
13:03
was
13:03
kind
13:04
of
13:04
curious,
13:04
you
13:04
know,
13:04
that
13:05
means
13:05
so
13:05
much
13:05
has
13:05
changed
13:06
in
13:06
fly
13:06
fishing
13:07
in
13:07
general.
13:09
You
13:09
know,
13:09
in
13:09
the
13:09
last
13:09
I
13:09
don't
13:10
know.
13:10
Gosh.
13:10
Since,
13:11
let's
13:11
say
13:11
the
13:11
movie
13:12
came
13:12
out.
13:13
Yeah.
13:14
How.
13:14
How
13:14
has,
13:15
how
13:15
has
13:15
the
13:15
Atlantic
13:17
salmon
13:17
fly
13:17
tying
13:18
community
13:18
changed
13:18
over
13:19
that
13:19
time
13:19
period?
13:20
Well,
13:22
you
13:22
know,
13:23
Marvin,
13:24
I'm
13:24
not
13:24
so
13:24
sure
13:27
I've
13:27
been
13:28
asked
13:28
that
13:28
before,
13:28
and
13:28
I'm
13:28
not
13:29
so
13:29
sure
13:29
the
13:29
community
13:29
has
13:30
changed
13:30
that
13:30
much.
13:33
I
13:34
mean,
13:34
in
13:34
the
13:34
traditional
13:35
sense
13:35
of
13:35
featherwing
13:36
salmon
13:37
flies,
13:37
these,
13:38
these
13:39
timeless
13:39
patterns,
13:40
such
13:40
as
13:40
a
13:40
jock
13:40
sky
13:41
and
13:41
the
13:41
Green
13:41
Highlander
13:42
that
13:42
have
13:42
been
13:42
there
13:43
for
13:44
centuries,
13:46
and
13:46
that's
13:46
just
13:46
a
13:47
name,
13:47
a
13:47
few,
13:47
they're
13:47
still
13:47
being
13:48
tied
13:48
by
13:48
many
13:48
who,
13:49
who
13:50
enjoy
13:51
dressing
13:52
this
13:52
type
13:52
of
13:52
fly,
13:53
you
13:53
know,
13:53
the
13:53
traditional
13:54
flies.
13:54
And
13:55
there
13:55
are,
13:56
there
13:56
are
13:56
those
13:56
in
13:56
this
13:57
community
13:57
that's,
13:58
that's
13:58
all
13:58
they,
13:58
they
13:59
enjoy
13:59
doing.
14:02
And
14:02
really,
14:02
I
14:02
mean,
14:03
that
14:03
tradition
14:04
goes
14:04
way
14:04
back
14:05
to
14:05
the
14:05
Victorian
14:06
area,
14:08
but
14:09
the
14:09
married
14:09
wings
14:09
and
14:10
the
14:10
feathers
14:10
from
14:10
these
14:10
exotic
14:11
birds,
14:11
they
14:11
were
14:11
used
14:12
to
14:12
develop
14:12
these
14:12
patterns
14:13
that
14:13
are
14:13
so
14:14
well
14:14
known
14:14
today.
14:15
So.
14:15
But
14:15
if,
14:16
if
14:16
anything
14:16
has
14:17
changed,
14:19
if
14:19
anything
14:20
has
14:20
changed,
14:20
I
14:20
think
14:20
it
14:20
would
14:21
be
14:21
the
14:21
influx
14:21
of
14:22
synthetic
14:23
materials
14:23
that
14:24
are
14:24
rarely
14:24
found
14:25
now
14:26
and
14:26
are
14:26
used
14:27
at
14:27
times
14:28
to
14:28
tie
14:29
these
14:29
types
14:29
of
14:29
flies.
14:30
For
14:30
instance,
14:31
there's
14:31
a,
14:32
there's
14:32
a
14:32
common
14:32
material,
14:33
natural
14:34
dubbing,
14:34
that's
14:35
used
14:35
to
14:35
build
14:35
up
14:35
the
14:35
body
14:36
of
14:37
like
14:37
the
14:37
Green
14:37
Highlander
14:38
and
14:38
it
14:38
seals
14:39
fur.
14:40
That's
14:40
a
14:41
natural
14:41
material
14:41
and
14:42
that's
14:42
getting
14:42
hard
14:42
to
14:42
find
14:44
now.
14:44
There
14:45
are
14:45
many
14:45
substitutes
14:46
for
14:46
that,
14:46
but
14:47
there's
14:47
a
14:47
company
14:47
in
14:48
the
14:48
uk,
14:48
Semper
14:49
Fly
14:49
Fly
14:49
Time
14:50
Materials,
14:50
which
14:50
is
14:51
a
14:51
fantastic
14:51
company,
14:53
they
14:53
developed
14:54
a
14:54
really
14:55
cool
14:55
dubbing
14:56
to
14:56
imitate
14:57
seals,
14:57
first
14:57
called
14:57
Semper
14:58
Seal,
14:59
and
14:59
it
14:59
mimics
15:00
the
15:00
natural
15:01
seal
15:01
for
15:01
almost
15:02
exactly
15:02
as
15:02
a
15:03
natural.
15:03
I
15:03
mean,
15:03
it's
15:04
fantastic
15:04
stuff.
15:04
So
15:05
if
15:05
there
15:06
was
15:06
any
15:09
change,
15:09
I
15:09
think
15:09
that
15:10
would
15:10
happen
15:10
in
15:11
the
15:11
community.
15:12
I
15:12
think
15:13
that's
15:13
what
15:13
it
15:13
would
15:13
be,
15:15
the
15:16
influx
15:16
of
15:17
synthetic
15:18
materials.
15:18
And
15:18
also
15:20
those
15:20
who
15:20
are
15:20
out
15:21
there
15:22
who
15:22
are
15:23
developing
15:23
using
15:24
like
15:24
pheasant
15:24
rump
15:25
feathers
15:26
to
15:26
enter
15:27
dyeing
15:27
that
15:28
in
15:28
a
15:28
way
15:28
to,
15:29
to
15:29
mimic
15:30
the
15:30
more
15:30
expensive
15:31
feathers
15:31
that's
15:32
used
15:32
in
15:33
these
15:33
traditional
15:34
patterns.
15:34
So
15:35
they're
15:36
doing
15:36
a
15:36
lot
15:36
of
15:36
that.
15:36
So,
15:37
yeah,
15:37
that's,
15:37
that's
15:37
basically
15:38
the
15:38
changes
15:38
that
15:38
I
15:39
would
15:40
see
15:40
that's
15:41
happened
15:41
over
15:41
the
15:41
years.
15:42
So,
15:42
yeah,
15:43
and
15:43
in
15:43
terms
15:43
of,
15:44
you
15:44
know,
15:44
technology,
15:44
obviously
15:45
we
15:45
have
15:45
things
15:45
like
15:46
YouTube
15:46
where
15:46
you
15:46
can
15:46
watch
15:47
it
15:47
on
15:47
demand.
15:48
Right?
15:48
Exactly,
15:48
exactly.
15:49
But,
15:49
you
15:50
know,
15:50
do
15:50
you
15:50
find.
15:51
Because
15:51
I
15:52
know
15:52
that
15:52
there
15:52
are
15:52
kind
15:52
of
15:52
these
15:53
gatherings
15:53
that
15:53
happen
15:54
all
15:54
over
15:54
the
15:54
world.
15:55
Are
15:55
they
15:55
happening
15:56
more
15:56
or
15:56
less
15:56
frequently?
15:57
And
15:57
are
15:57
people
15:58
embracing
15:58
things
15:58
like
15:59
zoom
16:00
to
16:00
be
16:00
able
16:01
to
16:02
talk
16:02
to
16:02
someone
16:03
in
16:03
Scotland
16:04
without
16:04
having
16:04
to
16:04
go
16:05
to
16:05
an
16:05
event?
16:05
Maybe
16:06
in
16:06
Nova
16:06
Scotia,
16:07
for
16:07
example.
16:08
Yeah.
16:09
So
16:10
I
16:10
think
16:10
people
16:10
are
16:11
using
16:11
YouTube
16:11
a
16:11
lot
16:12
more.
16:12
I
16:12
mean,
16:13
there's
16:13
great
16:13
YouTube
16:14
channels
16:14
out
16:15
there.
16:16
Friends
16:16
of
16:16
mine
16:17
have
16:17
channels
16:17
that
16:18
show
16:18
how
16:19
to
16:19
set
16:19
a
16:19
married
16:19
wing,
16:20
how
16:20
to
16:20
tie
16:21
a
16:21
complete
16:22
green
16:22
highlander.
16:23
And
16:24
you're
16:24
able
16:24
to
16:24
stop
16:24
and
16:25
start
16:25
that
16:26
as
16:27
it
16:27
progresses.
16:27
But
16:31
there's
16:31
still
16:31
nothing
16:32
like
16:32
going
16:32
to
16:32
a
16:33
show
16:33
and
16:33
standing,
16:34
sitting
16:34
across
16:34
the
16:34
table
16:35
from
16:35
somebody
16:36
and
16:36
having
16:37
that
16:37
personal
16:37
connection
16:39
like
16:40
netting.
16:41
Salmon
16:41
Fly
16:41
International,
16:42
that's
16:42
held
16:42
every
16:43
two
16:43
years,
16:43
but
16:44
that's
16:44
held
16:44
around
16:45
the
16:45
world,
16:45
different
16:45
locations,
16:46
so
16:46
you're
16:46
not
16:46
always
16:47
able
16:47
to
16:47
do
16:47
that.
16:47
But
16:48
usually
16:48
at
16:49
every
16:49
fly
16:49
fishing
16:50
show
16:51
that's
16:52
run
16:53
across
16:53
the
16:54
country
16:54
and
16:55
the
16:55
fly
16:56
fishing
16:56
shows,
16:56
one
16:56
in
16:56
Lancaster,
16:57
there's
16:57
one
16:57
in
16:57
Colorado,
16:58
there's
16:58
all
16:58
across
16:58
the
16:59
country.
16:59
There's
16:59
always,
17:00
there's
17:01
usually
17:01
a
17:02
tire
17:02
there
17:02
that's
17:02
tying
17:03
classic
17:03
salmon
17:04
flies.
17:04
So,
17:05
you
17:05
know,
17:05
one
17:06
should
17:06
be
17:06
able
17:06
to
17:07
be
17:07
able
17:07
to
17:07
sit
17:08
there
17:08
and
17:08
ask
17:09
questions
17:09
as
17:09
he
17:09
ties.
17:10
So.
17:11
Yeah,
17:12
yeah,
17:13
there
17:13
is.
17:13
Yeah.
17:13
There's
17:14
really
17:14
no
17:14
replacement
17:15
for,
17:15
you
17:15
know,
17:15
in
17:15
person.
17:16
And,
17:16
you
17:16
know,
17:16
it's
17:16
interesting
17:17
too.
17:17
There
17:17
isn't.
17:18
Yeah.
17:18
I
17:18
mean,
17:19
you
17:19
know,
17:19
in
17:19
tying
17:20
books,
17:20
for
17:20
some
17:20
reason,
17:21
it
17:21
seems
17:21
to
17:21
me
17:21
they're
17:22
hard
17:22
to
17:22
get
17:22
them
17:23
edited.
17:23
Well,
17:24
yeah.
17:25
And
17:25
so
17:25
it's
17:25
kind
17:25
of,
17:26
you
17:26
know,
17:26
either,
17:27
you
17:27
know,
17:27
in
17:27
person
17:28
is
17:28
best,
17:28
video
17:29
is
17:29
probably
17:29
second
17:29
best
17:30
and
17:30
then
17:30
books.
17:30
But,
17:31
you
17:31
know,
17:31
if
17:31
someone's
17:32
like,
17:33
I'm
17:33
curious,
17:33
I
17:33
think
17:34
I
17:34
might
17:34
want
17:34
to
17:34
kind
17:34
of,
17:35
you
17:35
know,
17:35
try
17:36
my
17:36
hand.
17:36
Atlantic
17:37
salmon
17:37
flies,
17:38
you
17:38
know,
17:38
what,
17:39
what
17:39
would
17:39
be
17:39
your
17:39
suggestions
17:40
for
17:40
them
17:40
to
17:40
kind
17:40
of
17:41
break
17:41
into
17:41
the
17:41
game?
17:43
Yeah,
17:43
so
17:43
that's,
17:44
that's
17:44
a
17:44
good
17:44
question.
17:45
So
17:45
I,
17:45
I,
17:45
I've,
17:47
I'm
17:47
currently
17:47
mentoring
17:48
a
17:48
young
17:48
lad
17:49
who
17:49
has
17:50
tremendous
17:50
town
17:51
in
17:51
tying
17:51
and
17:52
great
17:52
thread
17:53
control.
17:53
And
17:54
he's
17:55
all
17:55
about
17:55
this.
17:57
And,
17:58
you
17:58
know,
17:59
the
18:00
first
18:00
thing
18:00
I
18:00
told
18:00
him
18:01
when
18:01
he
18:01
contacted
18:01
me
18:01
about
18:02
this
18:02
was
18:03
to
18:03
pick
18:03
up
18:03
books
18:04
by
18:05
Michael
18:06
Radicitz.
18:07
They're
18:08
great
18:08
reads.
18:08
He
18:09
has
18:09
three
18:09
or
18:09
four
18:09
books
18:09
out
18:10
and,
18:10
and
18:10
he
18:10
has
18:10
it
18:11
step
18:11
by
18:11
step
18:13
and
18:13
find
18:14
a
18:14
mentor
18:14
if
18:14
you
18:14
can
18:16
close
18:16
by
18:16
that
18:16
you
18:17
can
18:17
talk
18:17
to,
18:17
that
18:17
you
18:17
can
18:17
sit
18:18
down
18:18
and
18:18
cross
18:18
with.
18:18
That's
18:19
not
18:19
always
18:19
easy
18:19
because
18:19
our
18:20
community
18:20
is.
18:21
There's
18:21
not
18:22
many
18:22
of
18:22
us
18:23
worldwide
18:25
if
18:25
not
18:26
attend
18:26
the
18:27
show,
18:27
like
18:27
I
18:27
said,
18:27
where
18:28
there's
18:28
a
18:28
tire
18:28
there
18:28
that
18:29
specializes
18:29
in
18:30
this
18:30
type
18:30
of
18:30
tying.
18:30
But
18:31
basically,
18:32
if
18:32
you
18:32
want
18:32
to
18:32
get
18:32
into
18:33
this
18:33
style
18:33
of
18:33
tying,
18:35
don't
18:35
get
18:35
into
18:36
the
18:36
featherwing
18:38
styles
18:38
where
18:38
you
18:39
marry
18:39
feathers.
18:39
There's
18:40
salmon
18:40
flies
18:41
that
18:41
are
18:41
called
18:41
hair
18:41
wings.
18:42
Okay.
18:42
And
18:42
they
18:43
basically
18:43
use
18:43
squirrel
18:43
tail
18:45
and
18:45
black
18:45
bear
18:46
hair.
18:46
But
18:47
the
18:47
body,
18:48
the
18:49
body
18:49
Build
18:50
for,
18:50
for
18:51
on
18:51
the
18:51
hook
18:51
shank
18:52
is,
18:53
mimics
18:53
that
18:54
of
18:54
that
18:54
classic
18:55
salmon
18:55
fly.
18:56
In
18:56
fact,
18:56
there's,
18:56
there's
18:57
a,
18:57
there's
18:57
a
18:57
heroin
18:58
gold
18:59
green
18:59
green
19:00
highlander
19:00
pattern
19:01
that's
19:01
used
19:02
very
19:02
popular
19:03
for
19:03
laying
19:03
salmon.
19:04
It's
19:05
much
19:05
easier
19:05
to
19:06
tie
19:06
that
19:06
pattern
19:07
in
19:07
a
19:08
hair
19:08
wing
19:08
than
19:09
it
19:09
is
19:09
with
19:09
a
19:10
feather
19:10
wing.
19:11
But
19:11
you
19:11
still
19:12
get,
19:13
you
19:13
still,
19:14
you,
19:15
you're
19:15
still
19:15
able
19:15
to
19:16
develop
19:16
the
19:16
skill
19:16
to
19:16
build
19:17
that
19:17
body
19:17
up
19:17
as
19:18
you
19:18
would
19:18
for,
19:18
for
19:18
a
19:19
feather
19:19
wing.
19:19
So
19:20
that's
19:20
the
19:20
best
19:21
advice
19:21
I
19:21
can
19:21
give
19:21
to
19:22
somebody.
19:22
Start,
19:22
don't
19:23
start
19:23
off
19:23
with,
19:23
with
19:23
trying
19:24
to
19:24
marry
19:24
feathers
19:25
and
19:25
instead
19:26
of
19:26
married
19:26
wing
19:27
start
19:27
with
19:27
heroines
19:27
first
19:28
and
19:28
then
19:28
go
19:28
from
19:28
there.
19:29
So
19:30
got
19:30
it.
19:30
And
19:30
I
19:30
know,
19:31
you
19:31
know,
19:31
you
19:31
touched
19:32
on
19:32
this
19:32
a
19:32
little
19:32
bit
19:32
earlier
19:33
and
19:33
you
19:33
know,
19:33
a
19:34
lot
19:34
of
19:34
people
19:34
have
19:34
probably
19:34
read
19:35
the
19:35
Feather
19:35
Thief
19:35
but
19:36
you
19:36
know,
19:37
getting,
19:37
getting
19:38
the
19:38
original
19:39
Victorian
19:39
natural
19:40
materials
19:42
is
19:42
difficult
19:43
either
19:43
because
19:44
the
19:44
birds
19:44
are
19:44
extinct
19:45
or
19:45
the
19:45
animals
19:45
are
19:45
extinct
19:46
or
19:47
there
19:47
are
19:47
all
19:47
sorts,
19:47
I
19:48
guess
19:48
of
19:48
import
19:48
and
19:48
export
19:49
controls
19:49
on
19:49
these
19:50
things.
19:50
Right.
19:50
You
19:51
know,
19:51
how
19:51
do
19:51
you
19:51
solve
19:52
that
19:52
problem?
19:53
Well,
19:54
yeah,
19:54
I
19:55
mean,
19:57
I
19:57
mean
19:58
the
19:58
good
19:58
part
19:58
about
19:58
that
19:59
book
19:59
is
20:00
it
20:00
served
20:00
as
20:01
kind
20:01
of
20:01
like
20:01
a
20:01
wake
20:01
up
20:02
call
20:02
to
20:03
our
20:04
community
20:06
regarding
20:06
the
20:06
source
20:06
of
20:07
materials
20:07
that
20:07
we
20:07
use
20:08
and
20:08
the
20:08
harm
20:09
by
20:09
ignoring
20:10
those
20:10
ethical
20:11
considerations
20:12
about
20:13
tainting
20:13
them.
20:13
But
20:15
in
20:15
saying
20:15
that,
20:20
I
20:20
think
20:21
that
20:21
book
20:22
delved
20:23
into
20:23
the
20:23
feather
20:24
underground,
20:24
if
20:24
you
20:24
would
20:24
enlisted
20:25
trait
20:25
of
20:25
rare
20:26
feathers.
20:26
And
20:27
it
20:27
kind
20:27
of
20:27
led
20:27
some
20:27
to
20:28
infer
20:28
that
20:28
a
20:28
large
20:28
portion
20:29
of
20:29
this
20:29
community
20:29
that
20:30
I'm
20:30
part
20:30
of
20:31
participates
20:31
in
20:32
or
20:32
condones
20:32
these
20:33
types
20:33
of
20:33
practices.
20:33
But
20:34
that's
20:34
not
20:34
the
20:34
case.
20:35
You
20:35
know,
20:36
the,
20:36
the
20:36
people
20:36
who
20:36
are
20:37
involved
20:37
in
20:37
this
20:38
type
20:38
of
20:38
underground,
20:39
if
20:39
you
20:39
would,
20:40
is
20:41
a
20:41
very,
20:41
very,
20:41
very
20:42
minute
20:42
part
20:43
of
20:43
this
20:43
community.
20:44
And
20:44
you
20:45
know,
20:45
I,
20:45
I
20:45
just,
20:46
I,
20:46
I,
20:46
I,
20:47
I
20:47
tend
20:47
to
20:47
think
20:47
that
20:47
perhaps
20:48
this
20:48
book
20:48
kind
20:48
of
20:49
can
20:49
label
20:50
us
20:50
all
20:50
as
20:50
one
20:51
group,
20:51
but
20:51
that's,
20:51
that's
20:52
not
20:52
the
20:52
case.
20:52
But
20:52
having
20:52
said
20:53
that,
20:55
as
20:55
far
20:55
as
20:55
getting
20:56
these
20:56
materials,
20:59
you
20:59
know,
20:59
it
20:59
is
20:59
getting
21:00
harder
21:00
and
21:00
harder
21:01
and
21:01
harder
21:01
to
21:02
find.
21:02
Marv,
21:04
I
21:04
have
21:04
enough
21:04
that
21:05
I've
21:05
collected
21:05
over
21:05
the
21:05
years
21:06
to
21:06
last
21:07
me
21:07
a
21:07
lifetime
21:07
now.
21:08
Pretty
21:09
fortunate
21:09
in
21:09
that
21:09
way.
21:10
But
21:11
like
21:12
dyed
21:12
white
21:12
turkey,
21:13
which
21:13
is
21:13
basically
21:15
the
21:15
center
21:15
tail
21:16
of
21:16
a
21:17
white
21:17
domestic
21:17
turkey.
21:18
And
21:19
they
21:19
raise
21:19
these
21:19
birds
21:20
just
21:20
for
21:21
this
21:21
type
21:21
of
21:22
tying
21:24
and
21:24
then
21:24
they
21:24
dye
21:25
them.
21:26
I
21:26
dye
21:26
my
21:26
own
21:27
feathers.
21:27
But
21:28
it's
21:29
getting
21:29
increasingly
21:29
hard
21:30
to
21:30
find.
21:30
I
21:30
mean
21:31
back
21:31
in
21:31
the
21:31
day
21:32
when
21:32
you
21:32
go
21:33
to
21:33
a
21:33
show,
21:33
you
21:33
could
21:33
buy
21:33
all
21:34
you
21:34
want.
21:34
Now
21:36
you're
21:36
lucky
21:36
if
21:36
you
21:36
find
21:37
any
21:37
for
21:37
sale
21:38
at
21:38
any
21:39
shows
21:39
and
21:39
on
21:39
YouTube
21:40
or
21:40
on
21:41
eBay,
21:42
you're
21:43
lucky
21:43
if
21:43
you
21:43
find
21:43
any
21:43
for
21:44
sale
21:44
there,
21:44
so.
21:44
And
21:45
the
21:45
cost
21:46
is
21:46
getting
21:46
higher
21:47
and
21:47
higher,
21:47
so.
21:48
But
21:49
there's
21:49
substitutes.
21:50
To
21:50
learn
21:50
how
21:51
to
21:51
tie
21:52
these
21:52
flies,
21:53
you
21:53
can
21:53
use
21:53
goose,
21:54
which
21:55
you
21:55
can
21:55
purchase
21:56
at
21:56
any
21:56
fly
21:57
shop.
21:57
Okay.
21:58
It's
21:58
a
21:58
little
21:59
bit
21:59
harder
21:59
to
21:59
marry
22:00
together.
22:00
Now,
22:01
when
22:01
I
22:01
talk
22:01
about
22:01
Mary,
22:02
you're
22:02
taking
22:02
different
22:03
strips
22:03
of
22:03
that
22:03
feather
22:05
and
22:05
cutting
22:06
them,
22:06
cutting
22:06
the
22:06
slips
22:07
out,
22:07
and
22:07
then
22:09
pressing
22:09
them
22:10
back
22:10
together
22:10
to
22:11
form
22:11
that
22:12
wing.
22:13
And,
22:14
you
22:14
know,
22:15
goose
22:15
works
22:16
fine.
22:16
It's
22:16
a
22:16
little
22:16
bit
22:17
harder
22:17
to
22:17
work
22:17
with,
22:18
but
22:18
that's
22:18
what
22:18
I
22:19
started
22:19
off
22:19
with
22:19
with
22:19
goose.
22:21
Yeah.
22:22
I
22:22
mean,
22:23
travel
22:23
to
22:23
shows,
22:24
talk
22:24
to
22:24
tires,
22:25
ask
22:25
them
22:25
where
22:25
they
22:26
source
22:26
their
22:26
material,
22:28
join
22:28
Facebook
22:29
groups.
22:29
There's
22:30
lots
22:30
of
22:30
Facebook
22:31
groups
22:31
or
22:32
social
22:32
media
22:32
groups
22:33
that
22:34
are
22:35
centered
22:35
around
22:35
this.
22:35
You
22:36
know,
22:36
don't
22:36
be
22:36
afraid.
22:37
Even
22:37
though
22:37
you're
22:37
just
22:37
starting
22:38
out,
22:39
we're
22:39
a
22:39
community
22:39
and
22:40
we
22:40
are
22:41
begging
22:41
to
22:41
be
22:42
asked
22:42
questions.
22:42
You
22:43
know,
22:43
ask
22:44
questions.
22:44
When
22:44
you
22:44
join
22:44
these
22:45
groups,
22:45
where
22:46
do
22:46
you
22:46
guys
22:46
get
22:46
your
22:46
materials
22:47
from?
22:47
You
22:47
will
22:48
get
22:48
answers.
22:49
And
22:50
there's
22:50
some
22:50
of
22:50
us
22:50
that
22:51
will
22:51
ask
22:52
for
22:52
your
22:52
address.
22:52
We'll
22:53
send
22:53
you
22:53
stuff,
22:53
you
22:54
know,
22:54
because
22:54
we
22:54
want
22:55
this
22:56
community
22:56
to
22:56
grow.
22:57
We
22:57
absolutely
22:58
do,
22:58
you
22:58
know,
22:58
and
22:59
we
22:59
want
23:00
young
23:00
folks
23:01
involved
23:01
in
23:01
this,
23:01
too,
23:02
because
23:04
there's
23:04
a
23:04
lot
23:04
of
23:04
us
23:05
that
23:05
are
23:05
getting
23:05
up
23:05
in
23:05
age
23:06
and,
23:08
you
23:08
know,
23:08
there's
23:08
not
23:09
many
23:09
young
23:09
tires
23:10
out
23:10
there
23:11
doing
23:11
this
23:12
type
23:12
of
23:12
thing.
23:12
So,
23:13
yeah,
23:15
don't
23:15
be
23:15
afraid
23:15
to
23:15
join
23:16
social
23:16
media
23:16
groups
23:17
and
23:17
ask
23:17
questions.
23:18
So
23:18
we're
23:18
there.
23:19
We're
23:20
willing
23:20
to
23:20
answer
23:21
any
23:21
questions
23:22
you
23:22
may
23:22
have
23:22
and
23:22
help
23:22
you
23:22
any
23:23
way
23:23
we
23:23
can.
23:23
So
23:24
hopefully
23:24
that
23:24
answered
23:25
your
23:25
question,
23:25
buddy.
23:26
Yeah,
23:26
yeah,
23:26
absolutely.
23:27
And
23:27
then
23:27
also,
23:27
too,
23:27
like,
23:28
I
23:28
know,
23:28
like,
23:28
the
23:29
hooks
23:29
are
23:29
not
23:29
as
23:29
hard,
23:30
but
23:30
I
23:30
also
23:30
know,
23:31
right,
23:31
that
23:32
there
23:32
are
23:32
hooks
23:32
and
23:32
then
23:32
there
23:32
are
23:33
hooks,
23:33
Right?
23:34
And
23:35
so,
23:35
like,
23:35
you.
23:35
You
23:36
can
23:36
go
23:36
to
23:36
Feathercraft
23:37
and
23:37
you
23:37
can
23:37
get
23:37
the
23:38
eyeless,
23:38
you
23:38
know,
23:39
hooks,
23:39
probably
23:40
from
23:40
Partridge
23:40
or
23:40
someone
23:41
like
23:41
that.
23:41
But
23:41
then
23:41
I
23:41
also
23:42
know,
23:42
like,
23:42
doing
23:42
research
23:43
for
23:43
this
23:43
interview,
23:43
that
23:44
you've
23:44
got
23:44
buddies
23:45
in
23:45
Japan
23:45
that
23:45
are
23:45
making
23:46
hooks.
23:47
So,
23:48
you
23:48
know,
23:48
how
23:48
does
23:49
the
23:49
kind
23:49
of.
23:49
The
23:50
hook
23:50
trade
23:50
kind
23:50
of
23:50
work
23:51
into
23:51
all
23:51
those?
23:52
Yeah,
23:53
I
23:53
mean,
23:54
there
23:54
are
23:55
commercially
23:56
available
23:56
hooks.
23:58
They're
23:58
called
23:58
blind
23:58
eye
23:59
hooks.
23:59
And
23:59
that's
23:59
how
24:00
the
24:01
hooks
24:01
back
24:01
in
24:01
the
24:01
Victorian
24:02
age
24:02
were.
24:03
That's
24:04
how
24:04
the
24:04
flies
24:04
were
24:04
titled.
24:04
And
24:05
they're
24:05
actually
24:05
a
24:05
hook
24:06
without
24:06
an
24:06
eye.
24:07
And
24:08
to
24:08
create
24:08
the
24:08
eye
24:09
of
24:10
that
24:10
blind
24:10
eye
24:10
hook,
24:11
you
24:11
actually
24:11
use
24:12
the
24:12
gut
24:13
from
24:13
a
24:13
silkworm.
24:14
They
24:15
actually
24:15
raise
24:15
silkworms,
24:16
and
24:17
they
24:18
pull
24:18
the
24:19
gut
24:19
material,
24:19
the
24:20
testing
24:20
material
24:20
out
24:21
of
24:21
this
24:21
worm
24:22
and
24:22
they
24:22
dry
24:23
it
24:23
and
24:23
they
24:23
twist
24:24
it
24:24
together
24:25
and
24:26
it
24:26
Creates
24:27
a
24:27
very
24:27
durable,
24:27
very
24:28
strong
24:30
material,
24:30
twisted
24:31
material
24:31
that
24:32
you
24:32
make
24:32
the
24:32
eye
24:32
out
24:33
of.
24:33
It's
24:33
called
24:33
a
24:33
gut
24:33
eye.
24:35
So
24:35
these
24:35
hooks
24:35
are
24:36
blind
24:36
eye
24:36
hooks
24:37
and
24:37
there
24:37
are
24:37
some
24:37
commercially
24:38
available
24:38
hooks
24:39
available
24:40
to
24:40
purchase.
24:42
And
24:42
there's
24:43
hook
24:43
makers
24:43
out
24:44
there,
24:45
again
24:45
from
24:46
Yesterhiro
24:47
in
24:47
Japan
24:48
and
24:49
Yuji
24:49
Wabi
24:49
from
24:50
Japan
24:50
also.
24:52
But
24:52
there's
24:53
commercially
24:53
available
24:54
hooks
24:54
or
24:54
I'm
24:55
sorry,
24:55
handmade
24:56
hooks
24:56
here
24:56
in
24:56
the
24:56
US
24:57
that
24:58
cost
24:59
wise,
24:59
they're,
25:00
they're
25:00
more
25:01
expensive
25:01
than,
25:01
than
25:02
your
25:02
hooks
25:02
you
25:03
buy
25:03
the
25:03
fly
25:03
shop.
25:03
They're
25:03
about
25:04
eight
25:04
to
25:04
ten
25:04
dollars
25:05
a
25:05
hook.
25:05
So.
25:06
But
25:07
again,
25:07
you
25:08
know,
25:08
to
25:08
get
25:08
started
25:08
in
25:09
this,
25:09
you
25:10
don't
25:10
need
25:10
that
25:10
blind
25:11
eye
25:11
hook.
25:11
You
25:11
can
25:12
start
25:12
on,
25:13
I
25:13
tell
25:14
people,
25:14
I
25:14
say
25:14
you
25:15
can
25:15
just
25:15
get
25:16
a
25:16
wide
25:16
gap
25:17
streamer
25:18
hook
25:18
and
25:19
don't
25:19
worry
25:19
about
25:19
that.
25:20
Yeah,
25:20
it
25:20
has
25:20
an
25:20
eye
25:21
on
25:21
it,
25:21
but
25:21
don't
25:21
worry
25:21
about
25:22
that,
25:22
you
25:22
know,
25:22
so
25:23
you
25:24
don't
25:24
need
25:24
these
25:24
blind
25:25
eye
25:25
hooks
25:25
to
25:25
get
25:25
started
25:26
in
25:26
this.
25:26
So.
25:27
Got
25:27
it.
25:28
And
25:28
so,
25:28
you
25:28
know,
25:28
you
25:28
were
25:29
tying
25:29
classic
25:30
Atlantic
25:31
salmon
25:31
flies
25:31
for
25:32
about
25:32
a
25:32
decade,
25:32
and
25:32
then
25:33
you
25:33
gravitated
25:34
to,
25:34
I
25:34
guess,
25:34
what
25:34
people
25:35
call
25:35
freestyle,
25:35
right?
25:36
So
25:36
not,
25:36
not
25:36
in
25:37
a
25:37
Victorian
25:37
pattern
25:38
book,
25:38
you
25:38
know.
25:39
You
25:39
know,
25:39
what
25:40
made
25:40
you
25:40
make
25:40
that
25:41
shift?
25:43
Well,
25:44
that
25:44
started,
25:46
I
25:46
guess
25:47
I
25:48
was
25:48
flying
25:48
somewhere
25:49
and
25:49
I
25:49
can't
25:49
remember
25:50
where
25:50
it
25:50
was,
25:51
but
25:51
I
25:52
was
25:52
at
25:52
an
25:52
airport
25:53
here
25:53
in
25:53
Pennsylvania
25:55
and
25:55
I
25:56
was
25:56
walking
25:56
through
25:56
the
25:56
bookstore
25:57
there
25:57
at
25:57
the
25:57
airport,
25:58
you
25:58
know,
25:58
once
25:58
you
25:58
go
25:59
through
25:59
security
25:59
and
26:00
looking
26:00
for
26:00
something
26:00
to
26:00
read
26:01
on
26:01
the
26:01
plane.
26:01
And
26:01
I
26:02
just,
26:02
here
26:03
was
26:03
Life
26:03
magazine
26:04
and
26:04
had
26:04
the
26:05
greatest
26:05
pictures
26:06
of
26:07
the
26:07
year
26:08
in
26:08
history
26:08
of
26:09
life.
26:10
And
26:10
I
26:10
was
26:10
looking
26:11
through
26:11
there
26:11
and
26:15
people
26:15
say
26:16
artists
26:16
are
26:16
kind
26:16
of
26:17
crazy.
26:17
Well,
26:17
I
26:17
guess
26:18
that's
26:18
kind
26:18
of
26:18
me.
26:19
But
26:19
I
26:19
saw
26:19
this
26:20
picture
26:20
of
26:20
that
26:20
iconic
26:21
image
26:21
of
26:21
Marilyn
26:21
Monroe
26:22
standing
26:23
over
26:23
that
26:23
grave
26:23
with
26:23
her
26:24
dress
26:24
blowing
26:24
up.
26:25
And
26:25
I
26:25
thought,
26:25
I
26:25
wonder
26:26
if
26:26
I
26:26
could
26:26
tie
26:26
a
26:26
fly
26:27
to
26:27
mimic
26:27
that.
26:28
Seriously,
26:28
that's
26:28
what
26:28
I
26:29
did.
26:30
So
26:30
this
26:30
was
26:31
on
26:31
my
26:31
mind
26:31
and
26:31
I
26:32
came
26:32
home
26:33
and
26:34
I
26:35
tied
26:35
this,
26:36
this
26:37
fly.
26:37
I
26:38
call
26:38
it
26:38
Maryland.
26:39
And
26:39
I
26:39
still
26:39
have
26:39
it.
26:39
And
26:39
that
26:40
was
26:40
actually
26:40
my
26:40
first
26:40
artistic
26:41
fly.
26:41
And
26:41
since
26:42
that
26:42
time,
26:43
you
26:43
know,
26:43
I
26:44
just
26:44
like
26:45
thinking
26:45
outside
26:46
the
26:46
box
26:46
and,
26:48
you
26:48
know,
26:48
most,
26:49
almost
26:49
all
26:49
of
26:49
my
26:50
ties
26:50
now
26:51
my
26:51
freestyle
26:52
is
26:53
freestyle
26:54
because
26:54
I
26:54
just
26:54
enjoy
26:54
doing
26:55
that.
26:55
I
26:55
haven't,
26:56
I
26:56
haven't
26:56
tied
26:57
two
26:57
of
26:57
the
26:57
same
26:58
since
26:58
I
26:58
started
26:58
doing
26:59
that.
26:59
It's.
26:59
Everyone's
27:00
been
27:00
different.
27:00
So.
27:01
Yeah,
27:02
so
27:02
that
27:02
was
27:02
actually
27:02
my
27:03
first
27:03
one.
27:03
So
27:04
very
27:05
neat.
27:05
I
27:05
know
27:05
those
27:05
pictures
27:06
are
27:06
on
27:06
your
27:06
website
27:06
and
27:06
I'll
27:07
link
27:07
to
27:07
that
27:07
in
27:07
the
27:07
show
27:08
notes,
27:08
you
27:08
know,
27:09
so,
27:09
you
27:09
know,
27:10
a
27:10
little
27:10
bit
27:10
more
27:10
of
27:11
an
27:11
Artistic
27:12
expression
27:13
and
27:13
you
27:13
need
27:13
the
27:13
inspiration.
27:14
And
27:14
then
27:14
you
27:14
got
27:14
to
27:14
tie
27:14
the
27:15
fly.
27:15
You
27:15
want
27:15
to
27:15
kind
27:15
of
27:16
maybe
27:16
walk
27:16
us
27:17
through.
27:17
I
27:17
know
27:18
there's
27:18
no
27:18
typical
27:19
freestyle
27:19
fly,
27:20
but,
27:20
you
27:20
know,
27:20
walk
27:21
us
27:21
through
27:21
kind
27:21
of
27:21
the
27:21
process
27:22
of,
27:22
you
27:22
know,
27:22
the
27:23
idea
27:23
all
27:23
the
27:23
way
27:24
to
27:24
the
27:24
finished
27:25
fly.
27:25
And
27:25
I
27:25
know
27:25
you
27:26
also
27:26
Matt
27:26
and
27:26
frame
27:27
yours.
27:28
Kind
27:28
of
27:28
take
27:28
us
27:28
through
27:28
that
27:29
whole
27:29
process.
27:30
Yeah.
27:30
So
27:34
when
27:34
I
27:35
first
27:35
started
27:35
this,
27:36
I
27:36
come
27:36
up
27:36
with
27:37
an
27:37
idea
27:38
on
27:39
how
27:39
I
27:39
want
27:39
this
27:39
fly
27:40
to
27:40
look
27:41
like.
27:41
And
27:42
some
27:42
of
27:42
this
27:43
is
27:44
centered
27:44
around
27:44
the
27:44
hook
27:45
that
27:45
I
27:46
have,
27:47
the
27:47
style
27:47
of
27:47
the
27:47
hook
27:48
that
27:48
I
27:48
have,
27:48
or
27:50
it
27:50
may
27:50
be
27:50
the
27:51
materials
27:51
that
27:51
I
27:51
have,
27:52
or
27:52
a
27:52
thought
27:53
I
27:53
may
27:53
have.
27:56
And
27:56
I
27:56
started
27:56
doing
27:57
pencil
27:57
drawings,
27:59
drawing
27:59
this
28:00
thing
28:00
out
28:00
and
28:01
on.
28:01
On
28:01
paper
28:02
and
28:02
how
28:03
I
28:03
wanted
28:03
it
28:03
to
28:03
look.
28:04
I
28:04
mean,
28:05
but
28:05
after
28:05
a
28:05
while
28:06
that
28:06
just
28:06
didn't
28:06
work
28:07
because
28:07
halfway
28:07
through
28:07
the
28:08
tie,
28:08
I
28:08
would
28:08
change
28:08
my
28:09
ideas
28:09
anyway.
28:11
And
28:11
then
28:11
sometimes,
28:12
Marvin,
28:13
it's
28:13
a
28:13
matter
28:14
of
28:14
just
28:14
putting
28:14
a
28:14
hook
28:15
in
28:15
the
28:15
vise
28:15
and
28:15
just
28:15
going
28:16
with
28:16
it.
28:17
Just
28:17
tying
28:18
and
28:18
seeing
28:18
where,
28:19
where
28:19
it
28:19
goes.
28:20
I
28:21
just
28:21
finished
28:21
one
28:21
for,
28:23
for
28:23
the
28:23
lodge
28:24
that,
28:24
that
28:24
I
28:24
was
28:25
at
28:25
in.
28:26
In
28:26
Alaska.
28:27
Ata
28:28
Alaska
28:28
Trophy
28:28
Adventures
28:29
Lodge
28:29
in
28:29
Al
28:30
hosted
28:30
a
28:30
trip
28:31
to,
28:31
just
28:31
returned
28:32
last
28:32
week.
28:32
Fantastic
28:33
lodge,
28:35
incredible
28:36
experience.
28:36
But
28:37
I
28:37
tied
28:38
one
28:38
there
28:38
called
28:39
the
28:39
Alagnak
28:40
and
28:40
I
28:40
framed
28:41
it
28:41
and
28:41
delivered
28:42
it
28:42
to
28:42
him.
28:42
And
28:42
it's
28:42
hanging
28:42
in
28:42
the
28:43
lodge
28:43
now.
28:43
But
28:45
that
28:46
lodge,
28:47
I
28:47
had
28:47
this
28:47
image
28:48
of
28:48
the
28:48
sunset
28:48
on
28:49
the
28:49
Lagnac
28:49
river
28:50
with
28:50
the
28:50
lodge
28:50
in
28:50
the
28:50
background.
28:51
And
28:52
it's
28:52
a
28:52
fantastic
28:53
image.
28:53
And
28:54
I've
28:55
had
28:55
two
28:56
Scarlett
28:56
McCall
28:57
parrot
28:58
feathers.
28:58
They're
28:59
very
28:59
long
29:00
that
29:01
I've
29:02
been.
29:02
I've
29:03
had
29:03
for
29:03
like
29:03
14
29:03
years.
29:04
And
29:04
I
29:05
just
29:05
never
29:05
had
29:05
the
29:06
right
29:07
use
29:07
for
29:07
them.
29:08
And
29:08
I
29:08
saw
29:08
that,
29:08
that
29:09
color
29:09
in
29:09
that
29:10
sunset.
29:11
And
29:12
Yashuhiro,
29:13
a
29:14
Japanese
29:14
hook
29:14
maker,
29:16
he.
29:16
He
29:17
had
29:17
gifted
29:17
me
29:18
this
29:18
one
29:18
hook
29:18
that
29:18
was
29:19
actually,
29:19
I
29:19
think
29:20
it
29:20
was
29:20
like
29:20
a
29:20
12
29:20
ought
29:20
hook,
29:21
a
29:21
very
29:21
big
29:21
hook.
29:22
And
29:23
I
29:23
thought
29:23
those
29:24
feathers,
29:24
they're
29:24
going
29:24
to
29:25
be
29:25
perfect
29:25
for
29:25
this
29:25
tie.
29:26
And
29:27
actually
29:27
that
29:27
one,
29:28
I
29:29
just
29:29
put
29:29
the
29:29
hook
29:29
in
29:29
the
29:30
vice
29:30
bar
29:30
and
29:30
just,
29:31
just
29:32
went
29:32
with
29:32
it.
29:32
You
29:33
know,
29:33
I
29:33
really
29:33
had
29:33
no
29:33
idea.
29:34
I
29:34
just
29:34
built
29:35
it
29:35
as
29:35
I
29:35
went
29:35
and
29:36
it
29:37
turned
29:37
out
29:37
pretty
29:37
good.
29:38
So.
29:38
And
29:39
the
29:39
thing,
29:39
another
29:39
thing
29:39
of
29:40
it
29:40
is,
29:40
I
29:40
mean,
29:40
sometimes
29:41
I
29:41
have
29:41
to
29:41
ask
29:41
my
29:41
wife
29:42
to
29:42
come
29:42
down,
29:42
check
29:42
colors
29:43
because
29:43
I'm
29:43
colorblind.
29:44
So
29:45
believe
29:45
it
29:45
or
29:46
not,
29:46
so
29:47
reds
29:47
and
29:47
greens,
29:47
I.
29:48
I
29:48
get
29:48
all
29:48
mixed
29:49
up.
29:49
So.
29:50
But
29:51
yeah,
29:51
I
29:51
mean,
29:52
how
29:52
I
29:53
plan
29:53
this
29:53
out
29:53
is
29:55
my
29:55
freestyle
29:55
flies
29:56
is
29:58
sometimes
29:58
there's
29:58
a
29:59
lot
29:59
of
29:59
thought
29:59
goes
29:59
into
29:59
it
30:00
and
30:00
other
30:00
times
30:00
there's
30:01
just.
30:01
I
30:02
just
30:03
go
30:03
with
30:03
it
30:03
and
30:04
see
30:04
what
30:04
happens.
30:04
So,
30:05
yeah,
30:06
very
30:07
neat
30:07
and
30:07
super
30:07
crazy
30:08
question.
30:08
Do
30:08
you
30:09
ever
30:09
tie
30:09
at
30:09
landing
30:09
salmon
30:10
flies
30:10
to
30:10
fish
30:10
with?
30:12
I
30:12
do
30:13
when
30:13
I
30:13
was
30:13
up
30:14
in
30:14
the
30:14
MIR
30:14
machine
30:15
up
30:15
in
30:15
New
30:15
Brunswick
30:16
to.
30:18
There's
30:18
a
30:18
show
30:18
up
30:19
there,
30:19
the
30:19
ASFI
30:20
Link
30:20
Salmon
30:21
Fly
30:21
International.
30:23
They
30:23
invite
30:23
80
30:24
tires
30:24
from
30:24
around
30:24
the
30:25
world
30:25
to
30:25
go
30:26
and
30:26
I
30:27
was
30:27
one
30:27
of
30:27
six
30:28
from
30:28
the
30:28
US
30:29
to
30:29
go
30:29
there
30:30
and
30:30
demonstrate
30:31
salmon
30:32
flies.
30:32
And
30:33
we
30:34
were
30:34
also
30:34
going
30:34
to
30:34
be,
30:35
be
30:35
able
30:35
to
30:35
fish
30:36
up
30:36
there
30:36
for
30:36
laying
30:37
salmon.
30:37
So
30:38
I
30:39
did
30:39
tie
30:39
some
30:39
green
30:39
highlanders
30:40
featherwing
30:41
style
30:41
thighs.
30:41
I
30:41
did
30:42
tie
30:42
some,
30:42
some
30:42
hair
30:43
wings.
30:43
But
30:43
these,
30:44
these
30:44
featherwing
30:46
flies,
30:46
when,
30:47
when
30:47
they're
30:47
in
30:47
the
30:48
water,
30:49
I
30:49
mean,
30:49
they,
30:50
they
30:50
just
30:50
look
30:51
amazing.
30:51
They
30:52
really
30:52
do.
30:52
I
30:52
mean,
30:53
yeah,
30:53
there's
30:53
a
30:53
little
30:54
bit
30:54
of
30:54
work
30:54
that
30:54
goes
30:54
into
30:54
them.
30:55
Now,
30:55
now
30:55
when
30:55
I
30:56
tie
30:56
them
30:57
for
30:57
fishing,
30:57
I'm
30:57
not
30:57
putting
30:58
as
30:58
much
30:58
detail
30:59
into
30:59
them,
30:59
of
31:00
course,
31:00
but
31:01
you
31:01
know,
31:02
the,
31:02
the
31:03
married
31:03
wings
31:03
turns
31:04
into
31:04
kind
31:04
of
31:04
like
31:04
a
31:04
mixed
31:05
wing,
31:05
if
31:05
you
31:05
would,
31:05
and
31:05
it
31:06
just
31:06
lays
31:06
down
31:06
and
31:06
they,
31:07
they
31:07
just
31:07
look
31:07
amazing
31:08
in
31:08
the
31:08
water.
31:08
You
31:08
know,
31:08
they
31:09
don't
31:09
mimic
31:10
any
31:10
natural
31:11
bait
31:11
fish,
31:11
if
31:11
you
31:12
would,
31:12
but
31:13
laying
31:13
salmon,
31:14
you're
31:14
not,
31:14
you're
31:15
actually
31:17
going
31:17
for
31:18
an
31:18
aggressive
31:18
strike,
31:19
you
31:19
know,
31:20
not
31:20
a
31:20
feeding
31:20
type
31:21
of
31:21
strike.
31:21
So.
31:22
But
31:22
yeah,
31:23
I,
31:23
I
31:23
do
31:23
tie
31:23
them
31:24
for
31:24
fishing,
31:24
so.
31:25
Very
31:25
neat.
31:25
And
31:26
you
31:26
know,
31:26
it's
31:26
kind
31:26
of
31:26
funny,
31:26
every
31:27
time
31:27
I
31:27
get
31:27
a,
31:27
you
31:28
know,
31:28
a
31:28
serious
31:29
tire
31:29
on
31:29
the
31:29
podcast,
31:30
I
31:30
always
31:30
like
31:30
to
31:30
ask
31:30
them
31:31
if
31:31
they've
31:31
got
31:32
a
31:32
couple
31:32
unique
31:32
flying
31:33
tips
31:33
for
31:33
mere
31:33
mortals
31:35
that
31:35
we
31:35
can
31:35
use
31:36
to
31:36
improve
31:37
our,
31:37
our
31:38
life
31:38
at
31:38
the,
31:38
the
31:39
bench
31:39
and
31:39
minimize
31:40
frustration.
31:40
And
31:40
they
31:40
can
31:41
be
31:41
Atlantic
31:41
salmon
31:42
tips
31:42
or
31:42
not
31:42
Atlantic
31:43
salmon
31:43
tips.
31:44
Well,
31:44
you
31:45
know,
31:45
when,
31:46
when
31:46
I
31:46
teach
31:48
fly
31:48
tying
31:48
courses,
31:50
I
31:50
always
31:50
tell
31:50
people,
31:51
I
31:51
said,
31:51
there's
31:52
one
31:52
thing
31:52
that
31:52
you
31:52
really
31:52
need
31:53
to
31:53
learn
31:54
to
31:54
do,
31:54
and
31:54
that's
31:54
called
31:54
the
31:54
pinch
31:55
technique.
31:55
I
31:56
don't
31:56
know
31:56
if
31:56
you've
31:56
heard
31:56
of
31:56
that
31:56
before,
31:57
but
31:57
you're
31:57
basically
31:58
bringing
31:58
the
31:59
thread
31:59
up
32:00
and,
32:00
and
32:00
pinching
32:01
it
32:01
between
32:01
your
32:01
fingers,
32:02
taking
32:02
a
32:02
loose
32:02
wrap
32:03
down
32:03
and
32:03
then,
32:04
you
32:04
know,
32:04
letting
32:05
that,
32:05
and
32:05
then
32:05
tightening
32:06
up
32:06
by
32:06
letting
32:06
that
32:06
thread
32:07
slip
32:07
through
32:07
your
32:08
fingers.
32:08
Because
32:09
the
32:09
thing
32:09
of
32:09
it
32:09
is,
32:10
you
32:10
know,
32:11
you
32:11
want
32:11
that
32:12
material
32:12
that
32:12
you're
32:12
tying
32:13
on
32:13
that
32:13
hook,
32:13
whether
32:14
it
32:14
be
32:16
setting
32:16
a
32:16
married
32:17
wing
32:17
or
32:17
tying
32:18
a
32:18
piece
32:18
of
32:19
marabou
32:20
on
32:20
the
32:20
tail
32:20
for,
32:21
for
32:21
a,
32:22
a
32:22
woolly
32:22
bugger,
32:23
you
32:23
know,
32:23
you
32:23
want
32:24
that
32:24
material
32:24
to
32:24
do
32:25
what
32:25
you
32:25
want
32:25
it
32:25
to
32:25
do,
32:25
not
32:26
what
32:26
it
32:26
wants
32:26
to
32:26
do.
32:27
And
32:27
some
32:27
of
32:27
these
32:27
materials
32:28
have
32:28
a
32:29
pretty
32:29
rugged
32:30
personality
32:30
that
32:31
they're,
32:31
they
32:31
fight
32:31
you
32:31
the
32:32
whole
32:32
way,
32:32
you
32:33
know,
32:33
and
32:34
by
32:34
using
32:34
that
32:34
pinch
32:35
technique,
32:36
you're
32:36
bringing
32:37
that,
32:37
you're
32:37
placing
32:37
that
32:37
material
32:38
on
32:38
the
32:38
hook
32:39
where
32:39
you
32:39
want
32:39
it.
32:40
And
32:40
by
32:41
using
32:41
a
32:41
pinch
32:41
technique,
32:42
that
32:42
thread
32:42
is
32:42
coming
32:43
straight
32:43
down
32:43
on
32:43
top
32:44
of
32:44
it.
32:44
It's
32:44
not
32:44
allowing
32:45
it
32:45
to
32:45
roll,
32:45
if
32:45
you
32:46
would.
32:46
So
32:47
that's,
32:47
that's.
32:47
And
32:48
every
32:48
piece
32:48
of
32:48
material
32:49
that
32:49
I
32:49
tie
32:49
onto
32:50
my.
32:51
One
32:51
of
32:51
my
32:52
flies,
32:52
my
32:52
free
32:53
in
32:53
my
32:53
freestyle
32:54
flies
32:54
with
32:54
some
32:55
will
32:55
take
32:55
20,
32:55
30
32:56
hours
32:56
to
32:56
complete.
32:58
Almost
32:58
every
32:58
piece
32:59
of
32:59
material
33:00
I
33:00
use
33:00
that
33:00
technique,
33:01
the
33:01
pinch
33:01
technique.
33:02
So.
33:03
And
33:03
then
33:06
I've
33:06
gotten
33:07
questions
33:07
about
33:07
people
33:08
on
33:08
how
33:08
to
33:09
set
33:10
tie
33:10
in
33:10
like
33:10
a
33:11
married
33:11
wing
33:11
and
33:11
some
33:12
of
33:12
these
33:12
other
33:12
materials.
33:14
Nano
33:15
silk,
33:15
a
33:15
silk
33:15
type
33:16
based
33:16
thread.
33:17
Nanosilk
33:18
is
33:18
Semper
33:18
Fly's
33:18
thread,
33:19
which
33:19
is
33:19
I
33:20
think
33:20
the
33:20
best
33:20
thread
33:20
in
33:20
the
33:21
market.
33:22
It's
33:22
a
33:22
GSP
33:23
type
33:23
thread
33:24
and
33:26
it's
33:27
slippery,
33:27
if
33:27
you
33:27
would.
33:28
And
33:28
it
33:29
allows
33:29
that
33:29
thread
33:29
to,
33:31
to
33:31
set
33:31
that
33:31
material
33:32
without
33:33
rolling
33:34
it,
33:34
if
33:34
you
33:34
would.
33:35
So
33:36
yeah,
33:36
I
33:36
mean
33:36
those
33:36
two
33:37
things
33:37
using
33:37
a,
33:39
like
33:39
a
33:39
nano
33:39
silk
33:40
from
33:40
Semper
33:40
Fly
33:40
thread
33:41
on
33:41
set
33:41
in
33:41
the
33:41
married
33:42
wing
33:42
and
33:42
the
33:43
pinch
33:43
technique.
33:43
That
33:43
pinch
33:44
technique
33:44
is
33:44
crucial
33:46
in
33:46
any
33:46
type
33:47
of
33:47
tying,
33:47
whether
33:47
it's
33:47
easy
33:48
tying
33:48
or,
33:49
or
33:49
something
33:49
difficult.
33:50
So.
33:51
Yeah,
33:51
absolutely.
33:51
And
33:52
I
33:52
always
33:52
know
33:52
too
33:52
that
33:53
tires
33:53
are
33:53
mad
33:54
scientists.
33:54
So
33:55
I
33:55
bet
33:55
you,
33:56
I
33:56
bet
33:57
you've
33:57
got
33:57
some
33:57
kind
33:58
of
33:58
nutty
33:58
tool
33:58
that
33:59
you
33:59
probably
33:59
made
33:59
yourself
34:00
that's
34:00
on
34:00
your
34:00
tying
34:01
bench.
34:01
You
34:01
want
34:01
to
34:01
share
34:01
that
34:01
with
34:02
fol?
34:02
Yeah.
34:03
So
34:04
yeah,
34:04
it's,
34:05
it's
34:05
called.
34:05
Well,
34:07
it's
34:07
a
34:07
burnishing
34:08
tool.
34:08
Okay.
34:08
And
34:10
I
34:10
don't
34:10
know
34:10
if
34:10
you
34:10
heard
34:10
of
34:11
that
34:11
before
34:11
but,
34:11
but
34:12
I,
34:12
I
34:12
kind
34:12
of
34:12
made
34:13
my
34:13
own.
34:15
So
34:16
when
34:17
I
34:17
do
34:17
these,
34:18
the
34:18
body
34:19
on
34:19
some
34:19
of
34:20
my
34:20
flies
34:20
and
34:20
some
34:21
of
34:21
them
34:21
can
34:21
get
34:21
pretty
34:21
intricate.
34:23
I
34:23
use
34:23
a
34:23
material
34:24
called
34:24
Japanese
34:24
silk.
34:25
It's
34:26
actually
34:26
silk
34:26
and
34:28
I,
34:28
when
34:28
I
34:28
wrap
34:29
it
34:29
on,
34:29
on
34:29
the
34:29
hook,
34:30
I,
34:30
I
34:30
use
34:30
silk
34:30
gloves
34:31
because
34:31
the
34:31
oil
34:31
from
34:32
my
34:32
hands
34:32
can,
34:32
can
34:32
discolor
34:33
it.
34:33
And
34:35
I
34:35
was
34:35
a
34:35
lineman,
34:36
electrical
34:36
lineman
34:37
in
34:37
my
34:37
past
34:37
life.
34:37
I
34:38
got
34:38
some
34:38
rough
34:38
hands
34:38
and
34:39
it
34:40
catches
34:40
on
34:40
there.
34:40
So
34:41
I
34:41
got
34:41
to
34:41
wear
34:41
silk
34:41
gloves
34:42
when
34:42
I
34:42
wrap
34:42
it.
34:43
But
34:43
that
34:44
shows
34:44
every
34:44
little
34:45
bump
34:45
in
34:46
that
34:46
body.
34:48
And
34:48
so
34:48
I
34:49
use
34:49
a
34:49
burning
34:49
string
34:49
tool.
34:50
It's
34:50
actually
34:51
a
34:51
very,
34:51
very
34:52
smooth
34:52
stone,
34:53
like
34:53
a
34:53
long
34:53
stone,
34:54
if
34:54
you
34:54
would.
34:55
And
34:55
I
34:56
rubbed
34:56
that
34:56
body.
34:57
I
34:58
actually
34:58
put
34:58
an
34:58
underbody
34:59
on
34:59
it
35:00
with
35:00
uni
35:00
silk
35:01
and
35:02
I
35:02
rub
35:02
that
35:02
really,
35:03
really
35:03
hard
35:03
the
35:04
whole
35:04
way
35:04
around
35:04
that
35:04
hook
35:05
to
35:05
smooth
35:05
it
35:05
all
35:05
out.
35:06
And
35:06
then
35:06
when
35:07
I
35:07
put
35:07
the
35:07
silk
35:07
on,
35:08
I
35:08
use
35:08
that
35:08
burnishing
35:09
tool
35:09
again
35:09
and
35:10
I
35:10
rub
35:11
it
35:11
really
35:11
hard
35:12
as
35:12
hard
35:12
as
35:12
I
35:12
can
35:12
and
35:13
it
35:13
smooths
35:13
everything
35:13
out,
35:14
makes
35:14
it
35:14
like
35:14
glass
35:15
so
35:16
that,
35:16
that
35:16
burnishing
35:17
tool,
35:17
if
35:17
you
35:17
would,
35:17
is
35:19
a
35:19
tool
35:19
that
35:19
I
35:19
can't
35:20
live
35:20
without
35:20
when
35:20
I'm
35:20
tying
35:20
these
35:21
flies.
35:22
Got
35:22
it.
35:23
And
35:23
then
35:23
do
35:23
you
35:23
have
35:23
any
35:23
other,
35:24
like,
35:24
you
35:24
know,
35:25
interesting
35:26
techniques
35:26
or
35:26
kind
35:27
of
35:27
new
35:27
materials
35:27
you're
35:28
playing
35:28
around
35:28
with
35:28
that
35:28
you
35:28
can
35:29
share
35:29
with
35:29
our
35:29
listeners?
35:32
Well,
35:34
yeah,
35:34
for
35:35
my,
35:38
for
35:38
my
35:39
artistic
35:40
flies,
35:41
I
35:41
use
35:42
a
35:42
lot
35:42
of
35:42
curls
35:43
in
35:44
some
35:44
of
35:44
my,
35:44
my
35:45
wingings.
35:45
And
35:45
I
35:46
don't
35:46
know
35:46
if
35:46
you've
35:46
seen
35:46
some
35:47
of
35:47
them,
35:48
but
35:49
that's,
35:49
that's
35:50
basically
35:50
using
35:51
when
35:51
you
35:51
take
35:51
a
35:51
pair
35:51
of
35:52
scissors
35:52
and
35:52
people
35:53
have
35:53
asked
35:53
me
35:53
how
35:53
I
35:53
do
35:54
that.
35:55
And
35:56
you
35:56
open
35:56
your
35:56
scissors
35:57
up
35:57
and
35:58
you
35:58
take
35:58
that
35:58
material
35:59
from,
35:59
from
36:00
a,
36:01
either
36:01
a
36:01
piece
36:01
of
36:01
goose
36:02
or
36:02
a
36:03
couple
36:03
sips
36:03
of
36:03
goose
36:04
or
36:04
a
36:04
couple
36:04
sips
36:04
of
36:04
diet
36:05
turkey.
36:06
It's
36:06
actually
36:06
like
36:06
curling
36:07
a
36:07
ribbon,
36:08
like
36:08
for
36:08
Christmas
36:09
time.
36:09
But
36:09
you
36:09
gotta
36:09
use
36:10
very
36:10
gentle
36:10
pressure
36:11
and
36:11
that
36:12
creates
36:12
that
36:12
curl.
36:12
And
36:13
then
36:13
you
36:13
gotta,
36:13
you
36:14
know,
36:14
tie
36:14
that
36:14
curl
36:15
in
36:15
or
36:15
either
36:16
on
36:16
the
36:16
body
36:16
or
36:17
married
36:18
into
36:18
the
36:18
wing.
36:19
I've
36:20
also
36:20
been
36:20
asked,
36:22
yeah,
36:22
so
36:23
when,
36:23
when
36:24
I
36:24
marry
36:25
a
36:25
wing
36:25
together
36:26
and
36:27
with
36:27
different
36:27
colors
36:28
to
36:28
create
36:28
a
36:28
wing.
36:30
There
36:30
was
36:31
one
36:31
tie
36:31
that
36:31
I
36:31
did
36:33
to
36:33
honor
36:33
a
36:33
firefighter
36:34
friend
36:34
of
36:34
mine.
36:35
And
36:35
the
36:35
hook
36:36
was
36:36
actually
36:37
gifted
36:37
to
36:38
me
36:38
by
36:38
Yesterhiro
36:39
from
36:39
Japan.
36:40
And
36:41
it's
36:41
a
36:41
red
36:41
hook
36:41
with
36:41
some
36:42
orange
36:42
in
36:42
it.
36:43
And
36:44
I
36:44
wanted
36:45
these,
36:45
these
36:45
married
36:45
wings
36:46
to
36:46
curl,
36:47
you
36:47
know,
36:47
like
36:48
flames
36:48
coming
36:48
off
36:49
the
36:49
hook.
36:50
And
36:50
I
36:51
thought,
36:51
how
36:51
can
36:51
I
36:51
make
36:51
this
36:52
wing
36:52
that
36:52
I
36:53
just
36:53
married
36:55
curl?
36:55
Because
36:56
it's
36:57
not
36:57
natural
36:57
to
36:58
do
36:58
so,
36:58
you
36:58
know,
36:58
And
37:00
I
37:00
lost
37:00
sleep
37:00
over
37:01
this.
37:01
I
37:01
thought,
37:01
maybe
37:01
I'll
37:01
use
37:02
a
37:02
curling
37:02
iron.
37:03
I'm
37:03
not
37:03
going
37:03
to
37:03
use
37:03
hairspray.
37:04
You
37:04
know,
37:05
there's
37:05
no
37:05
glue
37:06
or
37:06
hairspray
37:06
or
37:07
anything
37:07
using
37:07
any
37:07
of
37:08
these
37:08
flies
37:08
from
37:08
any
37:08
tire.
37:10
So
37:10
it
37:11
dawned
37:11
on
37:11
me,
37:12
and
37:12
this
37:13
is,
37:13
this
37:13
is
37:13
letting
37:14
the
37:14
cat
37:14
out
37:14
of
37:14
the
37:14
bag,
37:14
I
37:15
guess,
37:15
but
37:15
because
37:15
I've
37:16
been
37:16
asking
37:17
this
37:17
first
37:17
time
37:17
really
37:17
revealed
37:18
it,
37:18
but
37:19
I
37:20
came
37:20
down
37:20
and
37:20
got
37:21
my
37:21
wife's
37:21
iron
37:22
that
37:22
she
37:22
uses
37:23
iron
37:23
clothes
37:23
and
37:23
put
37:24
on
37:24
a
37:24
hot
37:24
setting,
37:25
and
37:25
I
37:25
grabbed
37:26
that
37:26
wing
37:26
and
37:26
I
37:26
curled
37:27
it
37:27
in
37:27
my
37:27
hands
37:27
and
37:27
I
37:28
rubbed
37:28
that
37:28
curl
37:28
on
37:29
the
37:29
edge
37:29
of
37:29
that
37:29
iron
37:30
and
37:31
it
37:31
stuck.
37:31
And
37:32
I
37:32
thought,
37:32
holy
37:32
smokes,
37:33
I've
37:33
got
37:33
it,
37:34
you
37:34
know,
37:34
but.
37:34
But
37:34
it
37:35
slowly
37:36
uncurled,
37:36
you
37:37
know,
37:37
back
37:37
to
37:37
its
37:38
natural
37:38
flat
37:39
shape.
37:39
It
37:40
took,
37:40
it
37:40
takes
37:40
five,
37:41
four
37:41
times
37:42
of
37:42
doing
37:43
that
37:43
for
37:43
it
37:43
to
37:44
stay
37:44
that
37:45
way.
37:46
And
37:46
that's
37:46
how
37:46
I
37:46
curled
37:47
my
37:47
married
37:47
wings.
37:48
So.
37:50
Well,
37:51
I'm
37:51
proud
37:51
of
37:52
my
37:52
powers
37:52
of
37:52
persuasion
37:53
that
37:53
I
37:53
pulled
37:53
that
37:54
out
37:54
of
37:54
you.
37:54
Yeah.
37:58
So,
37:58
you
37:58
know,
38:01
shifting
38:01
gears
38:01
a
38:02
little
38:02
bit
38:03
you
38:03
know,
38:03
we
38:03
were
38:03
talking
38:04
about
38:04
this
38:04
when
38:04
we
38:04
met
38:04
each
38:05
other
38:05
in
38:05
Lancaster.
38:06
You
38:06
know,
38:07
giving
38:07
back
38:08
is
38:08
very,
38:09
very
38:09
important
38:09
to
38:09
you.
38:10
And
38:10
you
38:10
give
38:10
back,
38:11
you
38:11
know,
38:11
on
38:11
the
38:12
water
38:13
and,
38:13
you
38:13
know,
38:13
at
38:14
the
38:14
vice
38:14
by
38:14
tying
38:15
these
38:15
beautiful
38:15
patterns
38:16
that
38:16
you
38:16
use
38:16
for
38:17
various,
38:17
you
38:17
know,
38:18
fundraising
38:18
and
38:19
recognition
38:19
purposes.
38:20
You
38:20
know,
38:21
where
38:21
did
38:21
that
38:21
drive
38:22
to
38:22
give
38:22
back
38:23
come
38:23
from?
38:24
Well,
38:24
that
38:24
came
38:24
when
38:24
I
38:25
was
38:25
a
38:25
teenager,
38:25
Marvin.
38:26
And
38:26
daddy
38:26
and
38:27
I
38:27
were
38:27
out
38:27
split
38:27
wood
38:28
out
38:28
behind
38:28
the
38:29
garage,
38:29
and
38:31
he
38:31
was.
38:31
He
38:31
was
38:32
getting
38:32
ready
38:32
to
38:32
retire.
38:32
His
38:33
arthritis
38:34
was.
38:34
Because
38:34
he
38:34
had
38:34
rheumatoid
38:35
arthritis
38:35
in
38:35
his
38:35
hands,
38:36
and
38:37
he
38:37
could
38:38
no
38:38
longer
38:38
mold.
38:38
So
38:38
he
38:39
went
38:39
into,
38:39
like,
38:40
an
38:40
office
38:40
job,
38:40
which
38:41
he
38:41
absolutely
38:42
hated.
38:42
So
38:42
he
38:42
was
38:42
talking
38:42
about
38:43
retiring.
38:43
And
38:43
I
38:43
said,
38:44
so
38:44
what
38:45
are
38:45
you
38:45
going
38:45
to
38:45
do,
38:45
dad,
38:45
when
38:46
you
38:46
retire?
38:46
He
38:46
said,
38:46
well,
38:47
I'm
38:47
going
38:47
to
38:47
fish
38:47
more.
38:47
But
38:47
he
38:48
said,
38:48
I.
38:48
I
38:49
want
38:49
to
38:49
help
38:49
out
38:49
around
38:50
the
38:50
community.
38:50
And
38:51
me
38:51
being
38:51
the
38:52
teen
38:52
teenager
38:52
that
38:53
I
38:53
was,
38:53
a
38:53
punk
38:53
teenager,
38:54
I
38:54
was.
38:54
I
38:54
said,
38:54
why
38:54
would
38:55
you
38:55
want
38:55
to
38:55
do
38:55
that?
38:55
You
38:55
know,
38:55
he.
38:56
He
38:56
looked
38:56
at
38:56
me
38:56
and
38:56
said,
38:57
look,
38:58
I
38:58
never
38:59
forgot
38:59
this.
38:59
He
38:59
said,
39:00
look,
39:00
he
39:00
said,
39:00
if
39:00
you
39:00
have
39:00
a
39:01
gift
39:01
or
39:01
a
39:01
talent
39:02
that
39:03
you
39:03
could
39:03
use
39:04
that
39:04
could
39:04
help
39:05
somebody
39:05
forget
39:05
a
39:05
nightmare
39:06
they
39:06
might
39:06
be
39:06
going
39:06
through,
39:07
why
39:07
won't
39:07
you
39:07
do
39:08
that?
39:09
And
39:09
that
39:09
stuck
39:10
with
39:10
me
39:12
to
39:12
this
39:12
day,
39:13
you
39:13
know,
39:13
and
39:14
it's
39:14
true.
39:15
I've
39:16
done
39:16
projects
39:16
for
39:16
Project
39:17
Healing
39:17
Waters,
39:18
Red,
39:18
White
39:18
and
39:19
Blue
39:19
flies
39:19
and
39:20
frame
39:21
them
39:22
for
39:22
American
39:23
Cancer
39:23
Society
39:24
for
39:25
Casting
39:25
for
39:25
Recovery.
39:27
That's
39:27
a
39:27
great
39:28
program
39:28
for
39:28
women
39:28
going
39:29
through
39:29
breast
39:29
cancer.
39:31
I've
39:31
done
39:31
frames
39:32
for
39:32
them
39:32
and
39:33
local
39:33
organizations
39:34
here.
39:35
There's
39:35
an
39:35
organization
39:36
here
39:36
called
39:36
Millport
39:37
Conservancy
39:37
that
39:38
raises
39:38
money
39:38
every
39:39
year
39:39
for.
39:40
To
39:41
send
39:41
to
39:42
help
39:42
votech
39:42
kids
39:43
in
39:43
the
39:44
area.
39:44
And
39:44
I
39:45
always
39:45
do
39:45
a
39:46
frame
39:46
for
39:46
them
39:46
every
39:46
year
39:47
to
39:47
raise
39:47
money.
39:48
So,
39:48
yeah,
39:49
I
39:49
mean,
39:49
and
39:50
Daddy
39:50
was
39:50
right,
39:50
you
39:50
know,
39:51
I
39:51
mean,
39:51
this
39:51
is.
39:52
People
39:52
think
39:52
of
39:52
fly
39:53
time,
39:53
Marvin.
39:53
You
39:54
know,
39:54
it's
39:55
all
39:55
about
39:55
fishing
39:55
and
39:56
everything
39:56
else,
39:56
but
39:56
whether
39:57
you
39:57
tie
39:58
a
39:58
fly
39:58
that
39:58
can
39:59
be
39:59
frames
40:01
or
40:01
tie
40:02
flies
40:02
for
40:02
fishing,
40:03
you
40:03
can
40:03
take
40:03
that
40:03
dozen
40:04
flies
40:04
or
40:04
two
40:05
dozen
40:05
flies
40:06
and
40:07
give
40:07
it
40:07
to
40:07
a
40:07
veteran,
40:08
you
40:08
know,
40:08
or
40:09
give
40:09
it
40:09
to
40:09
a
40:09
lady
40:10
who
40:10
might
40:10
be
40:10
going
40:10
to
40:10
casting
40:11
for
40:11
recovery,
40:12
you
40:12
know.
40:12
You
40:13
know,
40:13
we.
40:13
We.
40:13
We
40:14
have
40:14
this
40:14
skill,
40:14
like
40:15
Daddy
40:15
said,
40:15
we
40:15
have
40:15
this
40:16
skill
40:16
that
40:16
we
40:16
could
40:16
use
40:17
to
40:17
help
40:17
somebody
40:17
out.
40:19
Why
40:19
wouldn't
40:20
we
40:20
use
40:20
it?
40:20
It
40:21
makes
40:21
totals.
40:22
It
40:22
doesn't
40:23
make
40:23
sense
40:23
not
40:23
to,
40:24
you
40:24
know,
40:24
and
40:25
whether
40:25
it
40:25
be.
40:25
And
40:26
fishing,
40:26
too,
40:26
I
40:26
mean,
40:27
you
40:27
know,
40:27
if.
40:27
If
40:28
you're.
40:30
If
40:30
you're
40:30
a
40:30
fly
40:30
fisherman,
40:31
I
40:31
mean,
40:31
we.
40:31
We
40:31
have
40:32
this
40:32
skill
40:32
that
40:32
we
40:33
can
40:33
take
40:33
people
40:33
out,
40:34
we
40:34
can
40:34
Teach
40:34
people
40:34
we
40:35
can
40:35
get
40:35
involved
40:35
with.
40:35
Kids.
40:36
There's
40:36
so
40:37
many
40:37
opportunities
40:37
in
40:38
this
40:38
pastime,
40:38
whether
40:39
it
40:39
be
40:39
tying
40:39
or.
40:40
Or
40:40
fly
40:40
fishing,
40:41
that.
40:42
That
40:42
we
40:42
can
40:42
get
40:42
involved
40:43
in
40:43
in
40:43
the
40:43
community
40:43
in
40:44
so
40:44
many
40:44
different
40:44
ways.
40:45
So.
40:45
Yeah,
40:46
yeah.
40:47
It's
40:47
interesting,
40:47
you
40:48
know,
40:48
because
40:48
I
40:48
was
40:49
very
40:49
lucky
40:49
to
40:49
have
40:50
people
40:50
around
40:50
me
40:50
when
40:51
I
40:51
was
40:51
growing
40:51
up
40:51
that
40:52
took
40:52
an
40:52
interest
40:52
in
40:52
me
40:53
and
40:53
they
40:53
were
40:54
interested
40:54
in
40:54
the
40:54
outdoors.
40:55
Right.
40:55
Yeah.
40:56
And,
40:57
you
40:57
know,
40:57
even
40:58
though,
40:59
you
40:59
know,
40:59
you
41:00
know,
41:00
I'd
41:00
like.
41:00
I
41:00
really
41:01
learned
41:01
fishing
41:01
from
41:01
my
41:01
grandfather.
41:02
Right.
41:02
And
41:02
I
41:02
have
41:03
a
41:03
picture
41:03
here
41:03
in
41:03
my
41:03
office
41:04
of,
41:04
you
41:04
know,
41:05
we're
41:05
fishing
41:05
with
41:05
a
41:05
cane
41:06
pole,
41:06
and
41:06
he's
41:06
literally
41:07
wearing,
41:07
you
41:07
know,
41:08
rubber
41:08
wellies,
41:09
and
41:09
he's
41:09
got
41:09
an
41:09
aluminum
41:10
worm
41:10
box
41:10
on
41:10
his
41:10
belt.
41:12
Yeah,
41:12
but.
41:13
But,
41:13
you
41:13
know,
41:13
I
41:13
also
41:13
had
41:14
people
41:14
that
41:14
were
41:14
like,
41:14
ornithologists.
41:15
And
41:16
for
41:16
me,
41:16
that
41:16
kind
41:16
of
41:16
laid
41:17
the
41:17
foundation
41:17
for
41:18
me,
41:18
you
41:18
know,
41:18
caring
41:19
about
41:19
being
41:19
outdoors
41:20
and
41:20
fishing.
41:20
And,
41:21
you
41:21
know,
41:21
to
41:21
your
41:22
point,
41:22
I
41:22
kind
41:22
of
41:22
came
41:23
back
41:24
to
41:25
the
41:25
outdoors
41:25
probably
41:26
in,
41:26
like,
41:26
my
41:26
early
41:27
30s.
41:27
And,
41:28
you
41:28
know,
41:28
fly
41:29
fishing
41:29
was
41:29
very,
41:29
very
41:29
healing.
41:30
And
41:30
so.
41:31
Absolutely,
41:32
you
41:32
know,
41:32
and
41:34
on
41:34
a
41:34
lot
41:34
of
41:34
different
41:35
levels.
41:35
And
41:35
kind
41:35
of.
41:35
To
41:35
your
41:36
point,
41:36
you
41:36
know,
41:36
I.
41:36
I
41:37
got
41:37
involved
41:37
with
41:37
Project
41:37
Healing
41:38
Waters
41:38
and
41:38
other
41:38
groups
41:39
because
41:39
I
41:39
was
41:39
like,
41:39
well,
41:39
if
41:39
I
41:39
can
41:40
help
41:40
other
41:40
people
41:40
have
41:41
this
41:41
feeling,
41:42
I
41:42
should
41:42
do
41:43
that.
41:43
Yeah,
41:44
Yeah.
41:44
I
41:44
was
41:44
sitting.
41:45
I
41:46
was
41:46
at
41:46
an
41:46
event,
41:47
a
41:47
Project
41:47
Healing
41:47
Waters
41:48
eventually.
41:49
And
41:49
for
41:49
those
41:49
of
41:49
you,
41:50
I'm
41:50
sure
41:50
many
41:51
of
41:51
your
41:51
listeners
41:51
know
41:52
what
41:52
Project
41:52
Healing
41:52
Waters
41:53
is
41:53
all
41:53
about,
41:53
but
41:54
it's
41:54
an
41:54
organization
41:54
that's
41:54
nationwide
41:55
that
41:56
arranges
41:57
outings
41:57
and
41:57
meetings
41:58
for
41:58
disabled
41:58
veterans.
41:59
And
42:01
the
42:02
one
42:02
outing
42:02
I
42:02
was
42:02
on,
42:03
I
42:03
was
42:03
with
42:03
a
42:03
gentleman,
42:04
and
42:05
we
42:05
were
42:06
sitting
42:06
along
42:06
the
42:06
stream,
42:07
and
42:07
he
42:08
said
42:08
to
42:08
me,
42:08
he
42:08
said,
42:09
so,
42:10
don't
42:11
you
42:11
want
42:11
to
42:11
hear
42:11
my
42:11
story?
42:11
And
42:12
I
42:12
said,
42:12
this
42:12
is.
42:12
That's
42:13
not
42:13
what
42:13
this
42:13
is
42:13
about.
42:13
And
42:15
he
42:15
told
42:15
me
42:16
what
42:16
he
42:16
went
42:16
through.
42:17
And
42:17
it's.
42:18
It's
42:18
incredible.
42:19
It's
42:20
this,
42:21
what
42:21
he
42:21
told
42:22
me.
42:22
But
42:22
anyway,
42:23
he
42:23
said,
42:24
you
42:24
know
42:24
what
42:24
he
42:24
said,
42:25
this
42:26
is
42:26
the
42:26
first
42:26
time
42:28
talking
42:28
about
42:29
it.
42:29
This
42:29
is
42:29
the
42:29
first
42:29
time
42:30
that
42:30
I've
42:30
been
42:30
on
42:31
the
42:31
stream
42:32
that
42:32
I've
42:32
actually
42:33
thought
42:33
about
42:33
it.
42:33
And
42:33
I've
42:34
heard
42:34
that
42:34
from
42:35
women
42:36
who
42:36
are
42:36
dealing
42:37
with
42:37
breast
42:37
cancer
42:38
and
42:38
other
42:39
veterans
42:39
that
42:39
they
42:40
want
42:40
a
42:40
common
42:41
comment
42:41
that
42:42
they
42:42
made.
42:42
To
42:42
me,
42:42
it
42:42
says,
42:43
my
42:43
gosh,
42:44
since
42:44
I've
42:44
been
42:44
out
42:44
here,
42:44
I
42:44
haven't
42:45
thought
42:45
about
42:45
any
42:45
of
42:45
that.
42:46
That's
42:46
what
42:46
fly
42:47
fishing
42:47
does.
42:47
That's
42:47
what
42:48
fly
42:48
tying
42:48
does.
42:49
Because
42:49
you're
42:50
so
42:50
focused
42:50
in
42:51
on
42:51
the
42:51
moment
42:52
that
42:53
you
42:54
forget
42:54
about
42:54
it
42:54
all.
42:55
I
42:55
mean,
42:55
running
42:56
and
42:56
jogging
42:56
and
42:57
bike
42:57
Riding,
42:58
they're
42:58
all
42:58
good
42:58
stuff.
43:00
But
43:00
I
43:01
think
43:01
it
43:01
allows
43:01
your
43:02
mind
43:02
to
43:02
wander
43:02
where
43:03
fly
43:03
fishing,
43:04
casting
43:04
a
43:04
fly
43:05
rod
43:05
and
43:05
tying,
43:06
you're
43:06
just
43:06
so
43:07
focused
43:07
and
43:08
be
43:08
able
43:08
to
43:09
escape.
43:09
So.
43:10
Yeah,
43:10
yeah.
43:11
It's
43:11
interesting,
43:11
too,
43:12
because
43:12
I
43:12
think
43:12
part
43:12
of
43:12
it
43:12
is
43:13
the
43:13
fishing
43:13
part,
43:13
and
43:13
it
43:14
lets
43:14
people
43:14
think
43:14
about
43:15
when
43:15
they
43:15
were
43:15
little
43:15
boys.
43:16
Right.
43:17
Yeah.
43:17
Because
43:18
I
43:18
can
43:18
remember,
43:18
like,
43:19
going
43:19
to
43:19
the
43:19
outpatient
43:20
clinics
43:20
to
43:21
recruit
43:21
for
43:21
our
43:21
program
43:22
in
43:22
Charlotte,
43:22
and,
43:23
you
43:23
know,
43:23
you
43:23
would
43:23
just
43:23
say,
43:23
hey,
43:24
you
43:24
remember
43:24
when
43:24
you
43:24
were
43:24
a
43:24
little
43:25
kid
43:25
and
43:25
you
43:25
caught
43:25
your
43:25
first
43:25
Brem
43:26
and
43:27
people
43:27
would
43:27
light
43:27
up
43:27
and
43:28
you
43:28
just
43:28
kind
43:28
of
43:28
had
43:28
them
43:28
right
43:29
at
43:29
that
43:29
point.
43:29
Exactly,
43:30
exactly.
43:30
Yeah.
43:31
But,
43:31
yeah,
43:31
it's
43:32
a
43:32
fantastic
43:32
thing.
43:33
And
43:33
so,
43:33
you
43:33
know,
43:34
I
43:34
know
43:34
you
43:35
live
43:35
in
43:35
Pennsylvania,
43:37
and
43:37
we're
43:37
at
43:37
that
43:37
time
43:38
of
43:38
year
43:38
where
43:38
people
43:38
start
43:38
to
43:39
think,
43:40
you
43:40
know,
43:41
where
43:41
they're
43:41
going
43:41
to
43:41
be
43:41
on
43:41
the
43:41
show
43:42
Circuit
43:43
in
43:44
late
43:44
2025,
43:45
early
43:45
2026.
43:46
Have
43:46
you
43:46
made
43:46
plans
43:47
to
43:47
either,
43:47
like,
43:47
be
43:47
at
43:47
the
43:47
fly
43:48
tying
43:48
symposium
43:48
or
43:49
to
43:49
definitely
43:49
be
43:49
in
43:49
Lancaster
43:50
next
43:50
year
43:50
that
43:50
you
43:51
want
43:51
to
43:51
share
43:51
with
43:51
folks?
43:52
Yeah,
43:52
so
43:52
I'll
43:52
definitely
43:53
be
43:53
in
43:53
Lancaster
43:54
in
43:54
the
43:55
fly.
43:55
Fly
43:56
fishing
43:56
show.
43:56
And
43:56
lack
43:58
the
43:58
thing
43:58
with
43:58
the,
44:00
the.
44:00
The
44:01
symposium
44:02
in
44:02
November,
44:02
that's
44:03
the
44:03
same
44:03
weekend
44:04
as
44:04
my.
44:05
My
44:05
granddaughter's
44:06
birthday.
44:06
So
44:06
I'm
44:07
not
44:07
going
44:07
to
44:07
do
44:07
it.
44:08
So,
44:09
you
44:09
know,
44:09
that's,
44:10
that's
44:10
why
44:10
I'm
44:11
not
44:11
doing
44:11
that.
44:11
She's
44:12
my
44:12
little
44:12
girl.
44:12
She's
44:13
a
44:13
year
44:13
and
44:13
a
44:13
half,
44:13
and,
44:14
yeah,
44:14
so
44:15
she's
44:15
a
44:15
joy
44:16
of
44:16
my
44:16
life
44:16
right
44:16
now.
44:17
So
44:17
I
44:17
got
44:17
two
44:17
boys
44:17
and
44:18
I
44:18
got
44:19
a
44:19
little
44:19
girl
44:19
that
44:19
I'm
44:20
looking
44:20
after.
44:20
So,
44:20
yeah,
44:21
I
44:21
won't
44:21
be
44:21
at
44:21
the
44:21
symposium.
44:24
I'm
44:24
not
44:24
traveling
44:25
to
44:25
the
44:25
other
44:25
shows
44:26
just
44:26
because
44:26
of
44:26
that
44:27
reason.
44:28
But
44:28
I
44:28
will
44:28
be
44:28
in
44:28
Lancaster,
44:29
and
44:30
I
44:30
would
44:31
invite
44:31
you
44:31
all
44:31
to
44:32
look
44:32
me
44:32
up.
44:33
I'll
44:33
have
44:33
a
44:33
table
44:34
there,
44:34
and
44:35
I'll
44:35
be
44:35
tying
44:36
these
44:37
patterns
44:37
and
44:37
marrying
44:38
wings
44:38
and.
44:40
Yeah,
44:40
feel
44:41
free
44:41
to
44:41
watch.
44:42
Just
44:42
pull
44:42
up
44:42
and
44:42
watch
44:43
and
44:43
ask
44:43
questions.
44:44
I
44:44
love
44:44
questions.
44:44
So.
44:45
Yep.
44:46
Yeah.
44:46
And
44:46
I
44:46
love
44:47
the
44:47
Lancaster
44:47
venue.
44:48
I
44:48
mean,
44:48
you
44:48
literally
44:49
can
44:49
get
44:49
out
44:49
of
44:49
bed
44:50
and
44:50
put
44:50
on
44:50
your
44:50
nice
44:51
pajama
44:51
bottoms
44:52
and
44:52
your
44:52
slippers
44:52
and
44:53
go
44:53
to
44:53
the
44:53
show,
44:53
right?
44:54
Yeah,
44:55
that's
44:55
right.
44:55
Yeah.
44:57
Is
44:57
there
44:58
anything
44:58
else
44:58
you
44:58
want
44:58
to
44:58
share
44:58
with
44:59
our
44:59
listeners
44:59
tonight?
44:59
Like,
44:59
do
44:59
you
45:00
have
45:00
any
45:00
events,
45:00
fundraising
45:01
events
45:01
or
45:01
charity
45:02
events
45:02
coming
45:02
up
45:03
that
45:03
you're
45:03
supporting
45:03
with
45:03
your
45:04
patterns
45:04
that
45:05
you
45:05
want
45:05
to
45:05
let
45:05
folks
45:05
know
45:06
about
45:06
or
45:06
you
45:06
want
45:06
to
45:06
give
45:06
a
45:07
shout
45:07
out
45:07
to
45:07
any
45:07
of
45:07
the
45:07
charities
45:08
you
45:08
work
45:08
with
45:08
or
45:09
talk
45:09
about?
45:09
Any
45:09
of
45:10
your,
45:10
you
45:10
know,
45:10
teaching
45:12
opportunities
45:12
are
45:12
going
45:13
on?
45:14
Yeah.
45:14
So
45:15
my,
45:15
my,
45:16
my
45:16
Teaching
45:16
and
45:17
my
45:17
guiding
45:18
this
45:19
during
45:19
the
45:19
fall.
45:19
I
45:20
have
45:20
cut
45:20
back
45:20
on
45:21
because
45:21
of
45:22
babysitting
45:22
my
45:23
little
45:23
girl
45:23
and.
45:24
But
45:26
there
45:26
is
45:26
a
45:26
casting
45:27
for
45:27
recovery
45:27
event
45:28
coming
45:28
up
45:28
where
45:28
I'll
45:28
be
45:29
a
45:29
stream
45:29
guide
45:29
here
45:30
in,
45:30
in
45:30
September.
45:31
And
45:31
again,
45:32
I
45:32
mean,
45:33
it's
45:33
a
45:33
fantastic
45:34
charity.
45:35
If,
45:35
if
45:35
there's
45:35
any
45:36
charity
45:36
that
45:36
anybody
45:37
wants
45:37
to
45:37
support
45:37
is
45:37
Project
45:38
Healing
45:38
Waters
45:38
or,
45:39
or
45:39
Healing
45:40
Waters
45:41
and
45:42
Casting
45:42
for
45:42
Recovery.
45:43
They're
45:43
fantastic
45:44
organizations.
45:46
And
45:46
yeah,
45:46
I
45:46
mean
45:47
there's
45:47
some
45:47
local
45:48
travel
45:48
limited
45:49
chapters
45:49
that
45:49
I'm
45:49
going
45:49
to
45:49
be
45:50
giving
45:50
presentations
45:50
in
45:51
at
45:52
Muddy
45:52
Creek
45:53
Chapter.
45:53
I'll
45:54
be
45:55
talking
45:55
about
45:56
actually
45:56
about
45:57
my
45:57
Alaska
45:57
trip
45:58
and
45:58
how
45:58
to
45:58
do
45:59
Alaska
45:59
on
45:59
your
45:59
own
45:59
and
46:00
through
46:00
a
46:00
lodge
46:00
and
46:01
then
46:01
Donegal
46:01
Chapter
46:02
Trial
46:02
Unlimited
46:02
here
46:02
locally
46:03
in
46:03
Lancaster
46:05
coming
46:05
up.
46:05
I'll
46:05
be
46:05
doing
46:06
the
46:06
same
46:06
program
46:06
in
46:07
December
46:07
and
46:07
one
46:08
in
46:08
September
46:08
on
46:09
steelhead
46:09
fishing.
46:10
So
46:11
yeah,
46:11
I
46:11
mean
46:11
I'm
46:12
not.
46:12
I'm
46:12
not
46:13
as
46:13
busy
46:13
as
46:13
I
46:13
once
46:14
was
46:14
because
46:14
of
46:14
my
46:14
little
46:15
girl,
46:15
but
46:16
I'm
46:16
still
46:16
busy.
46:16
So
46:17
it's
46:18
important
46:18
stuff
46:18
and
46:18
I
46:18
will
46:19
get
46:19
links
46:19
to
46:19
all
46:19
that
46:19
stuff
46:20
and
46:20
drop
46:20
it
46:20
in
46:20
the
46:20
show
46:21
notes
46:21
for
46:21
folks
46:21
and.
46:22
Yeah,
46:23
and
46:23
Tom,
46:23
you
46:23
know,
46:23
if
46:23
folks
46:24
want
46:24
to
46:24
follow
46:24
your
46:24
adventures
46:25
on
46:25
the
46:25
water
46:25
at
46:25
the
46:26
vice
46:26
and
46:26
in
46:26
Alaska
46:27
now,
46:27
where
46:27
should
46:27
they
46:27
go?
46:28
Yeah,
46:29
I
46:29
have
46:29
a
46:29
Facebook
46:29
page.
46:30
Just
46:30
look
46:30
me
46:30
up,
46:30
Tom
46:31
her.
46:31
You'll
46:32
see.
46:32
I
46:32
just
46:32
created
46:33
a
46:33
video
46:33
on.
46:35
On
46:35
my
46:35
adventure
46:35
to
46:35
Alaska,
46:36
which
46:37
was
46:37
absolutely
46:37
incredible.
46:38
ATA
46:39
Lodge
46:39
is
46:40
a
46:40
fantastic
46:41
lodge
46:42
to
46:42
go
46:42
to.
46:42
It's
46:42
in
46:43
Bristol
46:43
Bay,
