- 0:01Hello folks, this is Princess. You are listening to the
- 0:04Millennial Mustard Seed podcast. Thanks for listening.
- 0:07Don't forget to share with your friends.
- 0:11That's tough. We're in a very tough spot.
- 0:13I think that what we're doing right now is a great benefit and
- 0:17virtue because it's an end around between this whole
- 0:21corrupt informational system, media system.
- 0:25We claim to believe in a God who spoke the universe into
- 0:28existence and literally raised himself from the dead, and yet
- 0:33we're not going to believe that anything else exists in the
- 0:36spirit realm, even though His word tells us that they do.
- 0:40Their bodies weren't permitted to go to sleep like humans do,
- 0:44and they weren't permitted to go to heaven, so they wander the
- 0:47earth. You know, I've seen the eyes
- 0:50turn black to unknown tongues being spoken.
- 0:55These giants would love way up in the island, the young Braves.
- 0:58The young men would hide up in the trees and wait for one of
- 1:01these 12 footers to come walking down the path and they would
- 1:04jump on them and kill them, drag them back to the village and the
- 1:08village would feast on the body freedom.
- 1:15Then people start to get weapons, they start to get
- 1:17armor, they start to build cities, they start to fortify
- 1:19their cities. Now God looks down and there's
- 1:22violence everywhere. The battle, this war that we are
- 1:26at, is not against each other. It's against these
- 1:29principalities and these rulers and these archons in the high
- 1:31places. It's really worthwhile to read
- 1:34the Bible yourself. Fear is one of the primary
- 1:37drivers of mind control because we have to take every thought
- 1:42captive and resist fear. You're going to have a testimony
- 1:49that is a justice case against the Kingdom of darkness.
- 2:15Welcome back to the millennial Mustard Seed.
- 2:18I'm your host, Rod. Thanks for being here.
- 2:21For another cool episode, I'm joined by Marie Becher.
- 2:25She is the host of two podcasts, Hospice Explained and Hospice
- 2:30Encounters Piercing the Veil, both really cool podcasts.
- 2:35Marie has been working in hospitals for 35 plus years,
- 2:40specifically with Hospice patients.
- 2:44She jumps into some personal and fascinating stories that she has
- 2:48experienced over her time. And this episode is not
- 2:52exclusive to the Hospice conversation.
- 2:56She shares a time a few different times where some
- 3:00supernatural things happened in the course of her life.
- 3:03This is really a cool episode. I'm a big fan of what she does
- 3:07on both of her podcasts, bringing recognition to Hospice
- 3:11end of life process. You know, just being an advocate
- 3:15for people that work in the medical field that are in that
- 3:19environment. That's what they do for a
- 3:21living. And then also the people who
- 3:23don't know anything about Hospice and then find themselves
- 3:26at the end of life going, hey, I'm choosing Hospice, what do I
- 3:30expect? So it's a place where you can
- 3:32share experiences and also people in those professional
- 3:36settings can listen to other people's stories.
- 3:40We get into so much more than just Hospice.
- 3:43On this episode, which I loved about this conversation, she
- 3:46shares a few gems throughout the course of her life of wild stuff
- 3:51that happened to her one story in particular when she was a
- 3:54teenager. I'm not going to get into the
- 3:56details. You got to stick around for the
- 3:58rest of the episode to hear that, and it's definitely going
- 4:02to be worth your while. So let me do some maintenance
- 4:04here real quick. I need you guys to like, share,
- 4:07and subscribe. That's how you help the
- 4:09algorithms and you help me find another person just like me and
- 4:13you by sharing these episodes. That is important.
- 4:17You can find details in the show notes to find a copy of my
- 4:20newest book. The words are salt hardcover
- 4:23paperback available on Amazon. Please consider donating
- 4:27planting a seed. You can find a link of how to
- 4:29help us by growing this ministry.
- 4:32You can give a monthly donation a one time donation.
- 4:35All those details are in the show notes.

- 5:13mine whom I minister with on the regular.
- 5:16Marcus Rodgers from Firehouse in Chicago will be coming through
- 5:20and then live SP from Baltimore is going to be coming up.
- 5:24So this is a place where we're having love in the streets.
- 5:27It's a great event. I'll be there for a couple of
- 5:29these nights. If you guys want to meet me,
- 5:31come out, kick it with us. There's going to be music.
- 5:33It's going to be love in the streets, like a Christian block
- 5:36party. Last, but in no wise, least of
- 5:40the information I'm going to share with you guys is this is
- 5:42our season to grow. Literally, God is doing
- 5:45something unique in the day and age that we live in.
- 5:47We've seen tons of people get baptized already where we
- 5:50haven't even seen it, the explosion that we're expecting,
- 5:54but people are getting baptized for the remission of sins here
- 5:57in southeastern Pennsylvania. We're getting connected.
- 6:00We're starting to see the clear vision of what God wants to do
- 6:03in this day and age that we live in.
- 6:05I believe in the Kingdom Land Project, I believe and having
- 6:09church differently. I believe in love in the
- 6:11streets. I believe in Kingdom land.
- 6:13I believe in walking it out, coming together with a likeness
- 6:16of mind and meeting each other's needs.
- 6:18If you feel led to so into this ministry to partner with us, to
- 6:23literally be a frontline person who's who's willing to say, you
- 6:27know what, I'm going to intercede.
- 6:28I'm going to, I have this to offer.
- 6:30I would like to come and be a part of these events that you
- 6:32guys are doing. Just reach out to me, all hands
- 6:35on deck. I think it's about time to jump
- 6:39into this episode. I'm ready.
- 6:42Are you guys ready? Let's.
- 6:44Go, let's go. Hello, my name is Marie Becher.
- 7:01I am host of Hospice Explain podcast and Hospice Encounters
- 7:06podcast. Welcome to the millennial
- 7:09Mustard. Seed Podcast Marie, it is an
- 7:17honor to have you here with me. Thank you for being here.
- 7:21Thank you. I'm I'm excited.
- 7:24You're a registered nurse and you are the sole creator and
- 7:28host of Hospice Explained and also Hospice Encounters Piercing
- 7:33the veil. You interviewed me, I want to
- 7:35say a few months back, right? Was it like the end of last
- 7:38year? I could tell you what episode I
- 7:40wrote it down one SEC here. Well, I did write it down.
- 7:45Now my chicken scratched it. Hang on a second, I want number.
- 7:50I'm pretty sure you're #20 let me, I might not have wrote it on
- 7:54my. Mail.
- 7:55Yeah, it was it was October 29th of last year, episode 20 for
- 7:59you. We had a great conversation.
- 8:01You know, it felt good to get certain things off my chest.
- 8:03I know I've talked about my near death encounter.
- 8:06It's not fancy Wu and wah, you know, but it was really cool to
- 8:09have this place where you were just genuine.
- 8:13You cared about what I was saying.
- 8:14You gave me a space to share this encounter that in my early
- 8:19years really wrestled with what how to make sense of it, dealing
- 8:22with, you know, all the things that came along with that
- 8:24experience. So I just want to recognize you
- 8:27for what you're doing on both of your podcasts to really create a
- 8:31space where there's no gatekeeping.
- 8:34It's just people can come and get things off the chest, share
- 8:37what they're going through. So why don't you tell us, Just
- 8:39start off real quick. Tell us a little bit about you
- 8:41have two different podcasts. Tell us the names and kind of
- 8:44what happens on each one 'cause I know my audience may kind of
- 8:48favor one of your podcasts more than the other, generally
- 8:51speaking. No, absolutely.
- 8:53And I think that's realistic. So I'm a registered nurse and
- 8:57I've been a nurse for so I've been a registered nurse for 36
- 9:01years. I worked primarily in the
- 9:03hospital for 30 of them in multiple different roles.
- 9:09And I ended up finding myself in Hospice and loved it, loved it,
- 9:16loved it. I found an overwhelming need for
- 9:19education. The a lot of people don't end up
- 9:25choosing Hospice until it's really close to the end and then
- 9:28they need a lot of education real fast.
- 9:32And I ended up going part time with Hospice and then I have
- 9:36separated. I don't work Hospice.
- 9:38I'm still a registered nurse. But I actually stopped working
- 9:41Hospice because I found that I emotionally just really got too
- 9:45invested and I felt like it's, it's just was a better place for
- 9:50me to be a podcaster for it. And So what I do is I've been
- 9:54educating people on Hospice. It's literally called Hospice
- 9:58explained. And I feel like it's a safe
- 10:01place for spiritually because there's just a lot of people.
- 10:06My heart is to bring the education no matter what
- 10:09somebody believes. And so I just bring it in like
- 10:13I, I literally call it that safe place.
- 10:16So no matter what people believe, they can just listen
- 10:19and not feel like I'm going to be pounding a hammer on judgment
- 10:22or, or, you know, any religious beliefs.
- 10:25And just so people, your audience knows that they don't
- 10:29have to be a believer in Jesus or any religion to be on a
- 10:36Hospice service. For the most part, Medicaid,
- 10:39Medicare and insurance is all covered.
- 10:42And so Hospice is a benefit. It's your benefit.
- 10:46You've paid into this system. You deserve to get something out
- 10:50of it. And So what you get is a nurse,
- 10:52you get a social worker, you get a chaplain, you get a ACNA that
- 10:56usually does bath care or you know, shower care, whatever
- 11:00somebody needs. And and you get a physician.
- 11:04They physicians don't tend to come to the home.
- 11:08And so you have a service, you have a team, you have a full
- 11:11team of people helping somebody in that end of life season.
- 11:15And so I've just taken it on to explain it.
- 11:18And I was a podcasting for about a year and I read this book and,
- 11:24and I got to I've got to read the title.
- 11:27So I read this book called Imagine heaven, near death
- 11:30Experiences God's Promise and and the Exhilarating future that
- 11:35awaits you by John Burke and jury.
- 11:39I hadn't even read the whole book.
- 11:41I had read the first half of the book and it says you have to
- 11:44tell your story. And I kind of paused and I went,
- 11:47Oh, I have a lot of stories and I and I just kept hearing that
- 11:51you have to tell your story. You have to tell your story.
- 11:53And I'm like, I'm already a working wife, mom, you know,
- 11:58etcetera and podcaster. And now I'm thinking about my
- 12:01second podcast. So I created Hospice Encounters
- 12:06and we added Piercing the Veil because it really fits as you
- 12:10listen to it. So Hospice Encounters, I like to
- 12:14think of it as because I'm a Christian, I can just go there.
- 12:18I don't go there on Hospice, explain, but I go there on
- 12:22Hospice Encounters. I haven't done a lot of episodes
- 12:26and I don't do them, you know, I try to do them with regularity,
- 12:30but it's it's hard with with Hospice explained where I trying
- 12:34to reach that weekly level. So I have not reached that
- 12:39sequential method with Hospice encounters.
- 12:43And I'm just going to be honest, it's time related, but I started
- 12:47Hospice encounters in like the first episode is just telling
- 12:51the story. And if you'd like me, Rod, I can
- 12:54pause. Because I just.
- 12:56Don't want to ramble on without any questions.
- 13:00I got to hear at least one or two of your stories out of that.
- 13:03That's easy. You got a diversity of
- 13:05different, you know, people coming on to testify, other
- 13:07people in the medical field, other podcasters.
- 13:10But I want you to tell me what is some of the most profound
- 13:12things that does not have to be an interview you've done, but
- 13:15just throughout your time in Hospice over all these years.
- 13:19Give us like a gem story. All right, that's an easy one.
- 13:23Well, my first one, I'll actually, I got multiple, but
- 13:25I'll give you my first one. This is the easiest.
- 13:27My mom and my dad taught me who I am, you know, and my belief
- 13:31system and they did a great job. I said yes to Jesus in Sunday
- 13:34school before I turned 3. I'll never forget my mom goes.
- 13:38Do you want to go to Sunday? School and I said yes, you know,
- 13:41obviously you have to be not going to joke about it, but you
- 13:44have to be potty trained, you know, so I was potty trained and
- 13:47she's like, do you want to go to Sunday school?
- 13:48And I'm like, I knew the rules. You were supposed to be 3.
- 13:51But, you know, of course, it's a small little Lutheran Church.
- 13:53And I got in and I'm pretty sure I said yes, the very first
- 13:58Sunday. I remember couple of the ladies,
- 14:01one of them still alive, actually.
- 14:04And they, they were singing songs.
- 14:06They said, OK, we're going to pray.
- 14:07And I, you know, close your eyes and we're going to pray.
- 14:10And do you want Jesus in your heart?
- 14:11I remember looking around. I was thinking about this today.
- 14:14I thought he's going to ask me something.
- 14:16And I poked my, you know, looked my eyes around and.
- 14:19I raised my hand. I don't remember if anybody else
- 14:22did, but I even I remember looking at one of the teachers
- 14:25said she was like pointing at me and pointing to the other
- 14:28teachers like I think they wrote down.
- 14:30You know who said yes because of course they all knew us.
- 14:33So this is who I am and how I was raised.
- 14:36I was raised from an early time to know the Lord.
- 14:40And so my mom is AI don't want to call her a St. but she is a
- 14:45St. because she's she's passed on.
- 14:47I thought there was going to be some bells and whistles when she
- 14:49died. I was wrong.
- 14:53The only thing I can tell you that happened is the day before
- 14:56mom died, I was a young, young nurse.
- 14:59My sisters are nurses and my brothers are not.
- 15:03And my dad's not in the medical field.
- 15:05So we're just wondering. She was dying of heart and lung
- 15:07problems and we weren't sure exactly when she was going to
- 15:11die. She had been dying for a long
- 15:12time. And I mean, 3 1/2 years of this
- 15:15slow rumble. And so we had called her sister
- 15:19the night before she died and she said, you know what tomorrow
- 15:22is? And we said, no, she goes,
- 15:24tomorrow is 40 years to the day that Big Mama died, which is my
- 15:28mom's grandma or excuse me, my mom's mom.
- 15:32So we knew mom was dying the next day.
- 15:35And I was there and I was like, I don't know if I thought angels
- 15:38were going to come pick her up or, you know, I don't know.
- 15:41I'd been with patients dying, but I just thought something
- 15:44special was going to happen. And I think the special piece
- 15:47that I have to look back on was that I found out, you know, I'd
- 15:50been worrying when she would die.
- 15:52And I found out the day before, you know, this is it.
- 15:54You know, she doesn't have much longer.
- 15:56And it was peaceful. So I'm going to Fast forward 10
- 16:00years. My dad died 10 years later, and
- 16:03he died at my home. We put him in my bonus room
- 16:07like, you know, an extra bedroom and had a hospital bed brought
- 16:10in and did the whole Hospice thing.
- 16:13And to the night we gathered, 'cause we just kind of knew then
- 16:17I had been a much more experienced nurse and I knew,
- 16:20OK, we're get, we're getting there.
- 16:22Dad, just laying there looking at the ceiling.
- 16:24There's ten of us minimum in the room, maybe more 'cause we were
- 16:28visiting 'cause we knew this was our, our last visit.
- 16:31He goes, wow. I said, what, what do you, what,
- 16:34what do you, what's up, dad? And he goes.
- 16:36I see the sky, and I see the great beyond, and it's
- 16:41beautiful. I still get choked up.
- 16:45I said to my son, turn off the lights, 'cause I was like, I
- 16:49don't want anybody to go. Oh, he sees lights on the
- 16:51ceiling and he goes, oh, I see the great beyond.
- 16:56And he just kept saying it with that emphasis.
- 16:58It's beautiful. And he went to sleep that night
- 17:02and died about 30-6 hours later. You know, went into what I call
- 17:06a semi comatose state, really peaceful.
- 17:09And he passed peacefully. But peaceful as to me, I got to
- 17:15know, you know, the maker of the universe shared something about
- 17:19his universe with our family. I'm gonna pause.
- 17:24Wow. The verse that was coming softly
- 17:30into my remembrance as I'm listening is God will give you
- 17:33an expected end. We all have to face death at
- 17:37some point and when it's someone that we love and we are a
- 17:41witness to the this end chapter and and the gem that gets
- 17:45dropped, you know, your dad is telling you, Hey, I I'm seeing
- 17:48the great and beautiful beyond. I think that that's comforting
- 17:52for a lot of people that may be on the fence or just have never
- 17:56really thought about it. Or maybe, well, I know there's
- 18:00other people out there like me who kind of had some weird wake
- 18:03up calls and then they're wrestling what's really going to
- 18:06happen when I die. So that brings comfort.
- 18:08That's a part of the testimony you have.
- 18:10And I just want to I honor you and just applaud you for sharing
- 18:14that. And I know it's emotional.
- 18:16It was, it was wonderful. And it was I just, you know,
- 18:21it's really interesting. And I feel like I got through my
- 18:24dad's death so much differently than my mom's.
- 18:28And some of that's maturity, some of that's experience, but.
- 18:33It I just brought me so much peace and I think it's changed
- 18:37how I look at death and life And just, you know, it's probably
- 18:43why I've shared on Hospice encounters Pearson that veil a
- 18:46few of the near death experiences because I feel like
- 18:51I just I just want to encourage people that there is more out
- 18:53there that this is not a finite, this is not it.
- 18:57This is not all there is. Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
- 19:02I do have. My story of you've probably
- 19:06heard it, but the the one where I had the Hospice patients.
- 19:09So if you want me to tell that one, we.
- 19:10Can Oh no, I do yeah, as many as you want.
- 19:13And then if you want to tell us another story or two and then
- 19:16I'll drop a couple more questions.
- 19:17I'm actually excited to hear this one because I think I know
- 19:21briefly what it. Is so I'm going to tell a few
- 19:25I'll tell you a few more stories I I'm not going to deny that you
- 19:28may be disappointed if you listen to all my podcasts
- 19:30because. I have most of those.
- 19:32Stories are in the beginning few episodes are mine, but I, I love
- 19:36the simple one. My son's dog Ranger, he was 10
- 19:42and he had a really aggressive cancer and my son decided to
- 19:46come to my house and he hired somebody There's, there's folks
- 19:49that will go to your house to, you know, help you when your dog
- 19:53needs to go for the end of life. So they had it in two, two
- 19:58sections. My son, my husband left the
- 20:00house and took. Two of our dogs out of the house
- 20:03just so they weren't there. So my son was sitting on one
- 20:07couch and I was sitting on another.
- 20:09My my youngest daughter was there with him.
- 20:11So she was sitting on the couch with my son and I was alone on
- 20:15the other couch. And the person that was helping
- 20:17Ranger was actually standing behind at this moment.
- 20:20So Ranger had had his first injection.
- 20:25And I think there was two injections.
- 20:27She gave him one to relax him and was just letting that kick
- 20:31in. So he's relaxed and he, he just
- 20:35kind of, I remember watching this dog and he just, you know,
- 20:37he's a big lab. He's a £85 lab.
- 20:40He wasn't a small dog. So you can see his eyes and I'm
- 20:46just watching because that's what, you know, I'm assessing,
- 20:49watching, thinking what's happening.
- 20:52And that dog, you could just see he kind of lifted his head off
- 20:55my son's lap and shook his head a little bit.
- 20:58And he looked across the room and he looked towards the
- 21:03towards the left and you can see his eyes.
- 21:07He changed focus, looked in the middle.
- 21:10He changed focus, looked again. So he literally had looked at
- 21:13what I consider maybe three people, 3 angels.
- 21:17Then he looked at me. Then he looked at one more
- 21:21person on the couch. And I don't remember if there
- 21:24was one more beyond that. I remember trying to think about
- 21:27that. So he may have looked at 5:00,
- 21:29but it was kind of like, I'm pretty sure one of those was
- 21:33there for him. I'm sorry, that one's really
- 21:37bothers me too. I really think the animals go
- 21:41somewhere, Rod, I really do. Oh my gosh, I just got
- 21:47triggered. Had no idea this would happen.
- 21:49But the child, you know, not child, I wasn't a child, but the
- 21:53dog that I had, Mackenzie, she was a dog I loved.
- 21:57She was at my mom's house. She passed when she was 15.
- 22:00And this is a few years back. So this dog came into my life
- 22:03when I was about 15 years old, right?
- 22:06And same thing happened. She couldn't go up and down the
- 22:10steps anymore. Like we knew it was coming.
- 22:13So I went over, you know, my mom had quote, UN quote the people
- 22:17who come to assist to take your dog into the afterlife, right?
- 22:22And I'll never forget when these people came, she looked at them,
- 22:29at me, back at them and growled at them and just laid her head
- 22:36down and looked at me with the most patient and loving look and
- 22:40let the rest of the process go. And that kind of, you know, I
- 22:43haven't really went there in a while.
- 22:45So, so weird when you were telling that story, I was so
- 22:47triggered. I like, I literally frog in the
- 22:50throat. I'm like, Oh my gosh, I just
- 22:51went back because I put that on the back burner.
- 22:55But I felt some type of way about that when that happened,
- 22:58when Mackenzie said, I'm sorry, it you triggered me.
- 23:00I had to, I had to get that off my chest.
- 23:02So I didn't go to sleep on what being like, man, I should have
- 23:06just got that one out into the ether.
- 23:08But there's something going on there.
- 23:10I don't know. I mean, you know, Pet Sematary
- 23:15is a movie from when I was growing up and super creepy and
- 23:19there was these seated ideas in the millennial generation's mind
- 23:23about the creepy end of it. But I don't think that's the
- 23:26truth. I, I think that God is way more
- 23:31complicated and beautiful then any of us could really wrestle
- 23:36with the reality of that. And I don't think that there's a
- 23:39bond that we take place with an animal that's just like, like
- 23:42God is up there going, Oh, I've made a billion dogs.
- 23:45That one doesn't matter. I don't believe the God that I
- 23:47worship and serve of all creation thinks like that.
- 23:51I think everything has a purpose and a value and, and everything
- 23:55is a test. And when we do it right, there's
- 23:57rewards. We have friends waiting for us
- 24:01on the other side. Furry friends, if I could say it
- 24:03that way. I my, my daughter actually on
- 24:07Hospice encounters in I can't remember what episode and
- 24:10probably episode 3. No, maybe not that early, but
- 24:14anyway, she, she witnessed it. She witnessed she was sitting
- 24:18next to my son and she gets on the episode and says I saw it
- 24:22'cause I remember going, am I just me?
- 24:23I don't know that my son saw it. He was just focused on the dog,
- 24:27but Haley watched, she said, Oh yeah, there's an absolute.
- 24:31He was looking at something and it wasn't us in the room.
- 24:34So I could I'll just keep going with my Angel stories here for
- 24:41here's a simple one. Here's here's just a this flat
- 24:44out fact that I worked night shift.
- 24:46I'm a registered nurse and I work night shift and I do 12
- 24:49hour nights and they're hard sometimes to come home and go to
- 24:53sleep, you know, So, so I'd come home and take a bath, you know,
- 24:57and I have this kind of a triangle shaped it's, I don't
- 25:01want to call it a triangle, but it's a, it's an odd, it's an odd
- 25:04shaped tub that fits into the bathroom.
- 25:08And nobody was home. Everybody went to school and
- 25:10work. So I'm home alone and I was just
- 25:12sitting in the tub and it's a bigger oversized tub and the
- 25:17water's filling, you know, and my mind is just, you know,
- 25:19starting to let go of all the nights busyness.
- 25:22And I started falling forward. Now I know it, I wouldn't have
- 25:28probably fell over in the tub, but I might have because it was
- 25:33such an odd shape. I think I was going to hit my
- 25:34head on the, you know, the spout, if I can remember right.
- 25:39And a hand stopped me. So my eyes were shut as I was
- 25:43falling forward. But I know you know what a hand
- 25:45feels like. You know what something feels
- 25:48like when it stops you. And it wasn't the tub.
- 25:51And I opened her eyes because I woke right up.
- 25:53You know how you just immediately wake up and you're
- 25:56like, yeah, nobody's here? Yeah.
- 26:01OK, Thank you, God. Thank you, Angel.
- 26:04You know, I appreciate the help. Obviously, I needed it that day.
- 26:09I know I have a guardian Angel and I will go ahead and I'll
- 26:14tell you how I know it. So I told you my literal come to
- 26:22Jesus, you know, I so I don't want to say it like that.
- 26:25I told you in the beginning that I said yes to Jesus.
- 26:29So I am a Christian and I did my best, you know, I always prayed,
- 26:34I always, you know what I mean? But you know there's always
- 26:36teenager moments, right? We teenagers can be make silly
- 26:40choices fast some of us we all have these moments, right?
- 26:45So I was leaving a friend's house and I'm.
- 26:49Thinking it had to be close to midnight, I used to be have to
- 26:53be home by midnight. So I know it was close to
- 26:55midnight. I they were they were only like
- 26:5715 minutes away. I lived at the time near Seattle
- 27:01Tacoma International Airport. So I was driving from from South
- 27:07of the airport to just north of the airport where I lived.
- 27:13And somebody, you know how you just, it's, it's late.
- 27:16There's nobody on the road. I mean, we're talking 45 years
- 27:19ago, whatever it was 40 years ago.
- 27:21There's nobody on the road because it's just, it was a not
- 27:25rural, but it just wasn't as populated, right.
- 27:30So somebody's tailgating me so tight.
- 27:33They're just inches from my, my bumper and you, they were so
- 27:37close. I almost didn't see them because
- 27:39they were literally so close. You know how you look backwards
- 27:42and you see lights? Well, there were no lights
- 27:45because they were hidden behind the car.
- 27:47So I'm in my mom's little Ford Fairmont, and this person passes
- 27:53me on the corner. So a corner of going around the
- 27:57on the freeway. And I pointed them to heaven
- 28:01with my middle finger. Yeah, I'm going to own that.
- 28:06I I it's not something I normally did either.
- 28:09So it was kind of like, you know, you know, just not not it
- 28:14was not nice. And I regretted it because it
- 28:16enraged them, but I regretted it anyway because it wasn't the
- 28:19nice thing to do. And this person started like
- 28:23harassing me on the freeway, you know, and I didn't even, you
- 28:25know, road rage wasn't even a thing.
- 28:27So I'm I'm probably 17 or 18. I don't remember being 18, but I
- 28:32might have been already 18. And so I like thinking I'm going
- 28:38to pull off to the side of the freeway, you know, take an exit
- 28:41when they're in the fast lane and they're going to go past.
- 28:44And no, they just drove up the hill in the gravel and chased me
- 28:47down. And then and of course, there's
- 28:49a light at the top and it was like stop or go, you know, And
- 28:52it was kind of like, so I stopped at the light a lot.
- 28:54My doors were locked. And I'm like, Lord, forgive me.
- 28:57I know. I prayed that with 100%.
- 29:00I said, you know, Lord forgive me.
- 29:02I, you know, literally do not know what I do.
- 29:06Just please protect me. I don't know, you know, you
- 29:09know, people are. Like, oh, I, I would have drove.
- 29:11Around I had a six cylinder Ford Fairmont.
- 29:14I knew the power of this vehicle was not, you know, I wasn't
- 29:17going to be a match for a man that had a you know, could
- 29:21probably take his car like a race car, you know, and it
- 29:24wasn't a race car. I don't mean that it was, but
- 29:26you know what I mean. This is an adult man that could
- 29:28probably dry out drive me no matter what.
- 29:32So he came, he parked behind me and he came up to my car and he
- 29:36just started losing it on me. Of course, he tried to get in
- 29:39the car and he couldn't. I think he was gonna.
- 29:42I don't. I don't doubt that he would have
- 29:44done something very not good to me.
- 29:47But he stopped just mid screaming stopped.
- 29:52And his eyes glazed over and he's looking at my passenger
- 29:55seat Rod. There's nobody in the passenger
- 29:59seat. This is an empty car.
- 30:03I am alone and he is staring at it.
- 30:05And this is enough so that I have looked back and forth 10
- 30:08times. I'm like, OK, well, you know, my
- 30:13mom always talked about angels. So I'm like, maybe, maybe
- 30:15there's an Angel here. You know, there's no indent in
- 30:17the seat. There's.
- 30:18Nothing, you know. There's nothing to see.
- 30:20I had nothing to literal see. And this this man just all of a
- 30:25sudden straightened up, stood up, backed away from the car and
- 30:28he yelled at me. And he says, don't flip people
- 30:31off and starts marching back to his car.
- 30:34And I found, you know, there's sometimes obviously you still
- 30:39say things that you don't need to, but I felt this power to
- 30:41say, well, then don't tailgate people, you know?
- 30:44And he came back to start screaming at me again.
- 30:47And he looked at my passenger and just turned around and
- 30:50walked and walked and drove away.
- 30:56I know, I know that's a that's a story.
- 30:59I just have to pause because I could just keep talking and
- 31:01talking. When his eyes glazed over, was
- 31:04it like in shock or did he literally have like something
- 31:08physical that was happening to him?
- 31:09That's a good question. It's crazy.
- 31:11I thought about that today. So it's not like the movies
- 31:13where you, you know, they go white or they go black or, you
- 31:16know, anything crazy. You could just tell what you.
- 31:20So if you were to look at somebody, just like I could see
- 31:22the dog's focus, you can see when somebody's focused on
- 31:25something besides you if you're in a conversation with them.
- 31:29And he's, you know, inches from my face.
- 31:31The only thing separating this was the car door and the window.
- 31:35And so I could see his face, 'cause he's leaned over.
- 31:38He wasn't a tall guy. I could see his face, very.
- 31:43Clearly. And I could see 'cause his jaw
- 31:45relaxed, his mouth opened. Like, you know how you just kind
- 31:49of when you're really listening intently, you might talk your
- 31:53head to the side. And so all these little cues and
- 31:57you're like in back of your head, you're like, he is
- 32:00definitely talking to somebody. Somebody's giving him a talking
- 32:03to. And so as part of it as like I
- 32:05just shut up, but I'm like, I'll let let them give him a talking
- 32:08to. Who's?
- 32:11Them you know who's. Fascinating.
- 32:12The Angel, you know, you just know that he's getting, you just
- 32:15know it. So, so I have more to say about
- 32:18him. He I, this is really hard to say
- 32:24and this is something I've had to struggle and wrap my head
- 32:26around. This happened in the years that
- 32:31Gary Ridgway, who was a serial killer, was in my area.
- 32:36I know people that worked with him.
- 32:38He lived in my area and he was killing people in the Seattle
- 32:42Tacoma. He was killing prostitutes.
- 32:45So he he had blood lust in his eyes when I mean this person was
- 32:50going to hurt me. But but I don't know what you
- 32:53want to add to this or take away Rod.
- 32:55I don't know how you want to. I'm not going to say it was him.
- 32:59I'm not saying that because I can't.
- 33:01I can't say that for sure. I just have a I've had a gut
- 33:05feeling for a long time that that's who it was.
- 33:08You know, I talk about this kind of stuff and I can't prove it,
- 33:12but I believe that there are foul spirits that are of common
- 33:18bond, right? So the same spirit that can be
- 33:21on somebody like a spirit of murder or lust.
- 33:24It's I believe those spirits are in cahoots together.
- 33:27It doesn't mean it's like that spirit left somebody else to
- 33:31come into that person because these both of these people share
- 33:34lust. I don't, I don't think it's like
- 33:36that in the spirit world. I just think that they have
- 33:38their own interface system where just like we're able to birds of
- 33:44a feather flock together, right? You hang out with good people.
- 33:47The Bible says hang with the wise, become wiser, right?
- 33:50It says hang with fools and it it can crumble your moral
- 33:53compass. So I think in the spirit world
- 33:55it parallels that. So when you say you seen, you
- 33:59know that something about this guy.
- 34:01There was kind of like an essence there if your gut was
- 34:04registering, like, yo, that is a common threatening spirit that
- 34:09has been identified. I think that's a fascinating
- 34:12point to bring up, Marie. And and I think it's important
- 34:14enough to just even spend that little extra time like we did on
- 34:18it because other people out there are going to be like,
- 34:19yeah, you know what? You ever just meet somebody and
- 34:22you get a feeling that resonates with other people that were off
- 34:25that you met throughout your life, you get the same kind of
- 34:28weird, something's off. I think it's spirits that are
- 34:32foul rolled together. They.
- 34:34Do they do? I mean, I just know no matter
- 34:38what this person, they just don't.
- 34:40You just don't go charging up to a young teenager without I'll
- 34:44intent that we know, irregardless of whether it
- 34:47really was or really wasn't. He had I'll intent no matter who
- 34:51he was. And he got a good talking to.
- 34:55I always laugh. I'm saying that I don't know if
- 34:57he got a good talking to. I I mean, who knows what was
- 34:59going on spiritually? Who knows what was happening?
- 35:03Well, it's clear his reaction, there was some type of
- 35:05engagement happening, and the imagination can only run wild to
- 35:10try to understand. So that that's a very, really
- 35:13powerful story when it comes to working in the building, the
- 35:17years you spent doing Hospice. I'm not asking for a creepy
- 35:20story, OK, Because I don't like to focus on the the depth of the
- 35:24darkness. I just want to hear two
- 35:26different stories side by side. Like this was kind of creepy and
- 35:29dark and this one was beautiful. Do you?
- 35:31Can you do that for us here? Well, I could start with the
- 35:34let's see here. So for me, for Hospice, what I
- 35:38have to clarify is that I was an admission nurse.
- 35:40I did not tend to see them die as much.
- 35:43I, I got, I was really good because I worked so many years
- 35:48in the hospital and in that emergent fashion where, you
- 35:53know, I go in and figure out what's wrong and, you know, fix
- 35:56things. I found that it was, it wasn't
- 35:59like Hospice emergency room, 'cause they're not emergent
- 36:01services, they are definitely not.
- 36:04But I would go in and try and fix those things that were
- 36:08broken, fix them so they could get peaceful and die.
- 36:12So I didn't spend as many times with dying patients.
- 36:16But I can tell you, I can tell you a few stories, not about
- 36:21that, but I will be straight up that in the old buildings at
- 36:25some of the, some one of the facilities I worked at that the
- 36:30elevators in the middle of the night would open and close and
- 36:32do some funny things. The monitors will go off and on
- 36:36when they're not supposed to. There are lots of things
- 36:40happening in there, bumps in the night and then you're just not
- 36:42very comfortable with. So for Hospice, I have my, my
- 36:49big story. So this was an actual Hospice
- 36:53visit. I was going to do an admission
- 36:56and they said, hey, Marie, can you go see this patient in the
- 36:59hospital? So if we were seeing a patient
- 37:01in the hospital instead of the home, what's happening is they
- 37:05were dying and we didn't get a chance to get him home or
- 37:08something to that effect. So I remember this person, she
- 37:12was at a minimum early 80s minimum, maybe mid.
- 37:16I saw her on a, let's just say I saw her on a Saturday because of
- 37:21what happens is I would do those during the week or otherwise
- 37:24somebody else might have done it.
- 37:26So I saw her on a Saturday and I met her family and you know, we
- 37:30just had a great conversation and it's like, you know, tell me
- 37:34about your sister, 'cause she was already in the patient was
- 37:37already in a comatose state on Saturday, so you couldn't get
- 37:41her to rise and say or anything. There was no reactions.
- 37:45They were just keeping her comfortable in the hospital.
- 37:48And her sister was really kind of like, I'm kind of surprised
- 37:51she hasn't died yet. And I said, why is that?
- 37:53And she's, you know, I said, does she have her spiritual,
- 37:56she's physically comfortable? How's her spiritual life?
- 37:59Is she spiritually at peace? And she goes, yeah, she's a
- 38:02Christian. She's she should be just fine.
- 38:06I said, OK, you know, and I probably offered to pray with
- 38:10the family. And I believe they said yes,
- 38:12just for comfort and peace and not as a Christian in Hospice.
- 38:17What I you offer something, you know, and if you're a Christian,
- 38:22well, that's fair, 'cause that's what you are, right?
- 38:24You're going to, you can pray with them, but it's only an
- 38:27offer if they don't want it, they say no and it's no big
- 38:29deal. You go on.
- 38:32And that would happen every so often if I just felt LED, you
- 38:34know, I'd be like, hey, do you want me to pray for you?
- 38:36And they'd be like, yes, yes, please.
- 38:39So this Sunday, the next day, I go back and I visited this
- 38:42patient first in the morning 'cause I had a couple admissions
- 38:44to go do. And another thing I'm doing when
- 38:49I'm going to the hospital is I want to make sure the nurses
- 38:51know, hey, you can call me if you have questions.
- 38:54You know, we can help you get this patient comfortable.
- 38:58So it's all right. I go in the room, it's just
- 39:03right after eight or right around 8:00 in the morning.
- 39:05So it's, it's, I don't remember what time of the year, but it's,
- 39:08it's very, it's well lit, but the room lights are off.
- 39:13It's a two-bedroom. The patient's by the window, the
- 39:17window curtains, I believe, are partially open, not fully open.
- 39:23And so I go in and, and, you know, I just start, I just
- 39:26whisper, you know, hi. So and so I'm Marie, I'm here
- 39:30to, you know, I'm just going to do a few vital signs and check
- 39:33on you because see how you're doing, you know, are you in pain
- 39:36or, you know, you just kind of talk to them like they're going
- 39:38to answer you, but they may not. And I said, I'm just going to,
- 39:41you know, put this little thing on your finger and I'm going to
- 39:43check your oximeter and I'm going to check your temperature.
- 39:46And I just kind of listened and you can kind of hear the
- 39:48gurgling in the lungs. And, you know, I just touched
- 39:51the scythoscope to the chest. And, you know, and I said, you
- 39:55know, I'm kind of put my stuff away.
- 39:57And I was like, maybe I, you know, I prayed yesterday with
- 40:01this family. I'll go ahead and pray with
- 40:02them, pray with this patient, you know, So I just said a quiet
- 40:05little prayer, you know, and it was more of just just praying
- 40:09for her, this patient's peace and blessing and, you know,
- 40:13peaceful passing because I. You know, as much as you want
- 40:17to, I just can't, it couldn't sit there, right?
- 40:19And her family wasn't there yet. And I don't know when they were
- 40:22going to get there. But so Rod, I'm, I'm walking
- 40:26away. I grab my bag and I go around to
- 40:28the end of the bed and I'm walking towards the door and I
- 40:32see something on the side of my my face and, and, and you have
- 40:36to just stop. And you just kind of like, OK,
- 40:38I'm seeing something, you know, and you're just like, your
- 40:40brain's starting to catch up. I am seeing something.
- 40:43I'm really seeing something. It actually took me several
- 40:47years before I realized what I saw.
- 40:49So a lake is horizontal, right? Flat, and you see ripples in the
- 40:53water. This is vertical water,
- 40:55basically. And I was watching the TV show
- 40:58Stargate and I was like. Oh my gosh.
- 41:00That's what it was. I saw that lake literally
- 41:03standing up next to me, so it wasn't like.
- 41:07How's it this I? Struggled to describe this.
- 41:10I so struggled to describe this. So, so, so it's it's ripples,
- 41:16almost a misty look. And I look and I'm like, OK, so
- 41:20I can see beyond the room, you know, can I see out the next
- 41:25room? No.
- 41:26Can I see into the next room? No.
- 41:29But I'm like, you look down at the floor and you're like,
- 41:31there's a wheelchair against the wall and there's, you know, odds
- 41:34and ends because at the end of the bed to the wall, it's, it's,
- 41:39I don't even want to say 5 feet, but, you know, there's five.
- 41:41Feet at the end, but. I could see depth.
- 41:45I so could I see people? Could I see figures?
- 41:50Could I see angels? Could I see any spiritual thing
- 41:54other than the effects? No, I could only see this, this
- 42:00water effect, almost like a mistiness.
- 42:05And I went to the other bed and I stood there and I just stared
- 42:09at the patient and the And this water effect, I keep calling it
- 42:13a water effect 'cause I don't want to call it a Stargate,
- 42:15'cause I mean, but. It.
- 42:18Was a portal. It was a tunnel.
- 42:20I'm just describing, you know that.
- 42:22And I just kept saying that same thing and I'm like, this is
- 42:26really something, you know, and you're just like I, I laugh
- 42:30nowadays and I'm thinking some people be like, I want to go in
- 42:32it. Well, I technically did.
- 42:34I walked through it. Nothing happened to me because I
- 42:37walk through it because I walked at the end of the bed, But I
- 42:41thought our words. I said this on another podcast
- 42:46actually, I think I think our that prayer just helped open the
- 42:50portal. It helped open it.
- 42:52I think it really did. I what's a good way to I'm a
- 42:59little stumped for words right now, but I don't want to say
- 43:02that my prayer opened the portal.
- 43:04I'm not going to say that it did, but it, maybe it helped it
- 43:06maybe, maybe the timing was just right.
- 43:10Maybe it was just the fact that I just happened to be there at
- 43:12the right place and the right time and God just says, OK,
- 43:14Marie, today's the day you get to see something special.
- 43:19I think that's where the patient was going to get going on her
- 43:23her journey. Yeah, that's such a great way to
- 43:27look at it. You know, with all of this
- 43:31antidotical stuff, personal experiences, what we read in the
- 43:34Bible, there has to be some humility because not one person
- 43:39has it all figured out. And just the way you depicted
- 43:41that it's, it's genuine, it's sincere.
- 43:44We don't want to use language like it was a Stargate just like
- 43:48episode, you know, whatever from from this TV show or something.
- 43:51Like we don't really want to do that.
- 43:52But sometimes we don't have the vocabulary other than something
- 43:56like that, because a lot of stuff has been, you know, hush
- 44:00hush or just not. It's campfire stories.
- 44:03And, and, and that's what I love about what you do, Marie, is
- 44:07you're giving people a license to be like, you know what,
- 44:11you're not alone. There's actually way more people
- 44:13out there than we probably ever would have previously realized
- 44:17until the day of technology came along to connect us all that
- 44:21there's tons of stories and tons of experiences that do parallel
- 44:26each other. And I say a lot of the times the
- 44:28God we wish to worship, I don't say that disrespectfully to
- 44:32anybody, but I say that as like the eye opener Marie that
- 44:35there's no denominational preference with God.
- 44:38He's he's omnipotent. He's omnipotent where I like I'm
- 44:43when I'm talking about God, I'm talking about literally the
- 44:46creator, the light giver, the one who brings calamity, the one
- 44:50who brings increase. All things are in his hand.
- 44:53So when I hear stories like that, I'm like a little kid at
- 44:57the candy store. I'm like this.
- 44:58We're getting closer to the heart of understanding our
- 45:02experiences and this vast, you know, network of people that
- 45:06kind of have been governed by the fear of can I talk about
- 45:11what I've seen or experienced because of things like a
- 45:13religious spirit or just fear mongering or just not feeling
- 45:16like you can fit in. There's not not a better
- 45:19compliment I can give you then to invite you on and literally
- 45:22ask my audience to go check out what you're doing and to hear
- 45:25your story, 'cause I believe in what you're doing and you
- 45:28sharing those stories right now, almost every episode.
- 45:32God has allowed us to interact with the ripple effect.
- 45:36Marie, I'm still trying to understand how to explain this
- 45:41to people, but this stuff happens where a story,
- 45:46encouragement, the word, the eternal word that never returns
- 45:50void, It goes out, right? So we send it forth and it stirs
- 45:55something else and somebody else up.
- 45:57Then there's testimonies that come forth.
- 45:59It's like a chain reaction. We don't see all of it.
- 46:01Oh my gosh, I probably don't even see .001% of what God has
- 46:07done through these little podcasts.
- 46:09But when we do see something, we understand it's very important.
- 46:16Give us some closing statements on just like your testimony, any
- 46:20loose ends that you'd like to tie and I'm just going to hand
- 46:22the mic back to you. Thank you so much for your kind
- 46:25words about my podcasts. I appreciate that.
- 46:28I just used Campfire Stories couple episodes ago.
- 46:31I think if you heard that campfire conversation, I think I
- 46:35used or have I even used it yet? Oh my goodness.
- 46:39I'm just looking at my I. Don't even that's funny.
- 46:41You said campfire that I literally said it or I'm going
- 46:45to say it. Conversations in Hospice explain
- 46:50because it's what a fitting words is.
- 46:55People need to be able to have hard conversations with people.
- 46:57And I want to just say, interestingly enough, I did not
- 47:01tell anybody about that person that almost hurt me that talked
- 47:08to my guardian Angel until I told like one person the next
- 47:13day. And they're like.
- 47:15Oh, I would have done. XYZ and I'm thinking you weren't
- 47:17there and I just sealed it up, put that in the vault, didn't
- 47:22tell anybody until right before I ended up sharing it on the
- 47:25podcast. I told my nieces and they're
- 47:27like, wow, this is a great story.
- 47:30And so then my my other one, I didn't tell anybody for several
- 47:34couple years. What do you say?
- 47:37Like I didn't even have the words you, you called it.
- 47:39I did not have the words to describe what I saw.
- 47:43So, so to wrap up, where am I and what am I doing?
- 47:47I am, I am going to keep on doing Hospice explained.
- 47:51And if somebody that's listening wants to share their Hospice
- 47:54story, I, I love kind of going over those Hospice stories.
- 47:59If you're a medical professional and you want to encourage
- 48:02somebody, you're welcome to be on Hospice explained.
- 48:05Both of those, you know, they just kind of fit and I really do
- 48:10keep it a safe place for, you know, belief systems.
- 48:14So, you know, you don't have to be believing in a certain system
- 48:19or sorry, not to believe in a certain system.
- 48:22You don't have to believe a certain way to be a guest on the
- 48:26show by any means on either way on either that or Hospice
- 48:29encounters, but Hospice encounters piercing the veil.
- 48:33And I got that from fellow podcaster Brandon Spain on
- 48:38unrefined podcast. He, he said, I said, Brandon, we
- 48:42were doing a, a podcast group, you know, online and I said
- 48:47Hospice encounters needs more. And he goes, how about piercing
- 48:50the veil? And I thought, you know, that
- 48:52really, that really picks that piece right in the right in the
- 48:57middle. That's exactly what it is.
- 48:58There's a veil that we can't see.
- 49:01And I came down for me a few times, you know, in the
- 49:05different moments, like when the Angel stopped me from hurting
- 49:08myself in the bathtub, not hurting myself, but falling in
- 49:10the bathtub or, you know, from protecting me as a teenager.
- 49:16So there's a veil. And if you want to Share your
- 49:19story, and Rod's been on Hospice encounters.
- 49:22If you want to Share your story, I'd be happy to have you.
- 49:24And I got to be honest, Rod, I think it's going towards near
- 49:29death encounters. I don't know why it's not the
- 49:32way I originally intended Hospice encounters to go, but
- 49:36that seems to be kind of the, the way it's starting to head.
- 49:40So I think like you really felt, I, I think it gave you some
- 49:45peace or it gave you, what did you use the word?
- 49:48It gave you some closure. A place, yeah, like a place to
- 49:51air it out. Like I I recited my experience
- 49:54in my own mind. People in my personal life knew
- 49:57it. But once people started, you
- 49:59know, requesting me to come on their podcast, I think I've been
- 50:02on 1/2 a dozen shows to talk about my experience.
- 50:05Every time it felt a little bit better, it aired it out.
- 50:09Yeah, exactly. And so I, I think that might be
- 50:13where it's heading. I'm not stressing over it
- 50:18because podcasting. Nobody knows how much time it
- 50:20takes except another podcaster probably, or somebody.
- 50:23That used to podcast. I understand what you're going
- 50:26through. Yeah, I know I I work and I, you
- 50:30know, got lots going on. So podcasting is I'm just not
- 50:34stressing over it. But as this as the folks come
- 50:37in, I'll I'll do the interviews. So I appreciate being on your so
- 50:41sorry, Rod. Thank you so much for having me
- 50:44on Millennial Muster Seed podcast.
- 50:49It's been an honor to have you here.
- 50:51You're just as genuine and authentic as they come, Marie
- 50:55and I really believe in what you're doing.
- 50:57And I, you know, just to reiterate what you said, I'm in
- 51:01agreement with you. There is no stress.
- 51:03Things morph and change on our shows and, and kind of meeting
- 51:07the need and just going with it is so important to encourage my
- 51:13audience. If you guys have dealt with
- 51:14something, you're not alone. I've had so many people say I'm
- 51:18so intimidated as a listener of all these podcasts for years to
- 51:22come on a podcast. But I want to encourage you
- 51:24guys. We're real people dealing with
- 51:26real life scenarios, real faith, real problems, right?
- 51:29We're just like, don't put anybody on a pedestal.
- 51:32Reach out to me. Reach out to Marie, however you
- 51:35want to do that and come forward and testify, Marie, It's an
- 51:39honor. Thank you.
- 51:41Thank you very much. Coming to you from Southeastern
- 51:44PA. That's it, That's the show.
