- 0:57you, and I want to say welcome.
- 1:01If you've been here one time, five times,
- 1:0310 times, 100, or maybe even more, I'd
- 1:06like to say not only thank you and
- 1:08welcome, but I'd like to say the words
- 1:10welcome back, because I really do appreciate people
- 1:12that enjoy the quality and content that I
- 1:14produce here on the show.
- 1:17We have a lot of great stuff that
- 1:18we do, and it is so great to
- 1:21have you here on the show and to
- 1:25be listening to all this great stuff, because,
- 1:27you know, we have a master topic every
- 1:29week from Saturday to Friday, so this is
- 1:31the Saturday and the Friday that ends the
- 1:33show, and then tomorrow we have a brand
- 1:35-new topic that we start off.
- 1:36So if you're hungry, if you're thirsty, I've
- 1:38got some Aro water right here.
- 1:40It's delicious, with some lemon in it.
- 1:43If you perhaps would like to get a
- 1:46snack or something, feel free to do that
- 1:48and come on back.
- 1:50I'd love to have you be comfortable and
- 1:54do what you're going to do, and, yes,
- 1:56it is so great to have you here
- 1:58with me, and, oh, if you have not
- 2:01checked out BelieveMeAchieved.com, go ahead and do
- 2:04that once you get a chance, after the
- 2:07show is over, that is, all right, because
- 2:08there's lots of great information that you guys
- 2:10will really appreciate.
- 2:12So without any further ado, guys, let's go
- 2:14ahead and kick this show off, all right?
- 2:18All right, guys, so this is Friday, July
- 2:213rd, 2026, one day before Fourth of July,
- 2:25and if you guys did not know this,
- 2:28tonight is actually going to be the time
- 2:31that they're actually dropping the ball at 11
- 2:33.59 p.m., because it's going to kind
- 2:36of be like a New Year's, because, well,
- 2:39the United States is turning 250, basically this
- 2:47day tomorrow on July 4th.
- 2:49So, yeah, definitely check that out later on.
- 2:52All right, so it is so great to
- 2:55have you here with me, and this is
- 2:57season five, it's episode number 27, series five,
- 3:02episode, it's actually show 27, excuse me, and
- 3:05it's episode number seven, it's Friday.
- 3:08Welcome, everyone, to another inspiring episode of Inspirations
- 3:11for Your Life.
- 3:12I am your host, John C.
- 3:13Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 3:17podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student at
- 3:22Montgomery State University, passionate lifelong learner, and so
- 3:25grateful now to be a published author.
- 3:28Every Friday gives me great pleasure to end
- 3:32up the week, because tomorrow we have a
- 3:34brand new master topic.
- 3:35We can rush into the weekend and basically
- 3:38forget what happened, or we can pause for
- 3:43just a moment, okay, and reflect and use
- 3:47the week as fuel for the next one.
- 3:50Today, I want to share a framework that
- 3:53has helped me and countless successful people continue
- 3:56growing.
- 3:56It is simple, review, reward, reset, review, reward,
- 4:02reset, pretty easy, right?
- 4:03Review, reward, reset, and so let's kick this
- 4:07show off, all right, everyone?
- 4:08So number one, weekly review turns days into
- 4:12progress.
- 4:13We need to be able to review, so
- 4:15I mean, I think that's just an important
- 4:17thing.
- 4:17We have to understand how we review, and
- 4:20I think that's an important thing for a
- 4:21lot of us to basically understand, okay?
- 4:25So without any kind of reflection, guys, the
- 4:27days just kind of, well, they kind of
- 4:30blur together, right?
- 4:32Reviewing your week transforms experiences into lessons, and
- 4:37lessons into momentum.
- 4:40See, a lot of times people don't want
- 4:41to look at the lesson.
- 4:42I'll tell you why, because they harp on
- 4:45what they did wrong, but really what they
- 4:46want to do is we want to harp
- 4:47on what we did right, and then figure
- 4:50out what we did wrong, but we want
- 4:51to figure out how we can change that
- 4:52and not make that a whole ordeal.
- 4:56Just figure out what tweak we can do,
- 4:57and I think that can help a lot
- 4:59of us, but I know sometimes if you're
- 5:02a perfectionist, which I used to be, it's
- 5:04hard to embrace these kinds of things, right?
- 5:07It just becomes very, very hard.
- 5:09So that's very important to definitely understand, and
- 5:14yeah, so let's go ahead and kick this
- 5:18off with our next point, because the next
- 5:20point is very important.
- 5:21Number two, look back to learn, not to
- 5:25beat yourself up.
- 5:26That's really what I'm saying.
- 5:27We want to look at what we did
- 5:28wrong, and then we want to make the
- 5:30choice to actually embrace what changes we can
- 5:33make.
- 5:34Now, do not become your own worst critic.
- 5:36Study your week with curiosity instead of guilt.
- 5:42I think a lot of people, when they
- 5:43get guilt, it's like, oh my gosh, I
- 5:44don't think I can do this anymore.
- 5:44I don't know what I'm going to do.
- 5:46And I think those are important things that
- 5:48a lot of people, they don't understand necessarily
- 5:52what that is.
- 5:54And I think that's hard for a lot
- 5:55of people to understand what that is or
- 5:59how that works, but we really need to
- 6:02understand that and embrace it with curiosity instead
- 6:06of guilt.
- 6:06Because you see, growth begins when you replace
- 6:10judgment with learning, and I know that's hard
- 6:14for a lot of people to embrace, okay?
- 6:18But it's important to understand that and know
- 6:23what's going on.
- 6:25And hopefully, that'll get you guys to become
- 6:28better versions of yourself every single day.
- 6:31And I'm not going to tell you it's
- 6:32going to be easy, because nothing, guys, is
- 6:35ever easy, right?
- 6:36Nothing is ever easy.
- 6:37But I can tell you that it's important
- 6:41that you understand what's going on and why
- 6:44things are going on a certain way, because
- 6:46that can help and affect your trajectory going
- 6:48forward.
- 6:49Number three, guys, ask yourself, what did I
- 6:52let go of this week?
- 6:56I think when we think about letting go,
- 6:58it causes a lot of people to get
- 7:00emotional and it causes people to fear things.
- 7:06Maybe you released a fear, an excuse, or
- 7:10perhaps a distraction.
- 7:11Every new level requires letting go of something
- 7:14that no longer serves you anymore, and I
- 7:16think that's an important thing.
- 7:18When something goes, something else will always fill
- 7:21it.
- 7:21Now, it may not fill it right away,
- 7:23and I think that's another important thing.
- 7:24Don't worry if it doesn't fill it right
- 7:26away.
- 7:26It will eventually fill it, I promise, okay?
- 7:29But it might just take a little time
- 7:31before that void does get filled.
- 7:33Number four, guys, ask yourself, where did I
- 7:37level up this week?
- 7:39You see, growth is often subtle.
- 7:41Notice where you became more patient, more disciplined,
- 7:44or more confident.
- 7:46Those moments matter most.
- 7:48I know a lot of us say, gee,
- 7:49look, I did this wrong, I did this
- 7:50wrong, I did this wrong, and now what
- 7:52am I supposed to do?
- 7:54And I get that, guys, but we really
- 7:56have to embrace the concept of who we
- 7:59are, all right?
- 8:00The concept of who we are, and what
- 8:03we're doing, and why we're doing certain things,
- 8:05because I think that matters the most for
- 8:07everyone.
- 8:08But I think sometimes we just, we miss
- 8:12that whole concept.
- 8:14And I feel that if we miss the
- 8:16concept, then it's going to be like, how
- 8:19do we get back on our feet, okay?
- 8:21I think it's important to understand, okay, that
- 8:31people have to be who they are, and
- 8:34they have to learn from mistakes, okay?
- 8:40That's a very important thing to know.
- 8:44And I'm going to tell you that it's
- 8:46something that you can do every single day.
- 8:48But I know a lot of people, they
- 8:50get scared because they figure that they can't
- 8:52do something.
- 8:53And it's not that they can't.
- 8:54It's just like Henry Ford said a long
- 8:57time ago, if you believe you can't, you're
- 8:58right.
- 8:59And if you believe you can, you're also
- 9:01right.
- 9:01So we have to basically believe we can.
- 9:06That's what Henry Ford said.
- 9:08And so we want to embrace the whole
- 9:09concept of doing that.
- 9:11And when we do that, I feel our
- 9:14life sort of changes in a way that
- 9:18maybe many of us were not expecting it
- 9:21to change you to.
- 9:22But it does change.
- 9:24And that change helps us become a better
- 9:26person.
- 9:27Number five, track your wins as identity evidence.
- 9:31Every positive action proves who you are becoming.
- 9:35Your wins are evidence that your future self
- 9:37is already taking shape.
- 9:40And don't beat yourself up because you're not
- 9:43where you want to be.
- 9:44Just don't do that.
- 9:45I think that's an important thing.
- 9:47And I know a lot of people don't
- 9:53understand what's going on or why something is
- 9:57going on.
- 9:59OK, that's probably an important thing for us
- 10:01to understand, for us to know why that
- 10:05is.
- 10:06Number six, celebrate even tiny improvements.
- 10:10A small improvement repeated consistently creates extraordinary results.
- 10:15Never dismiss progress simply because it seems small.
- 10:18I'm going to have a little sip of
- 10:19water here.
- 10:22Actually delicious.
- 10:23Mara water with lemon is a really, really,
- 10:26really, really good recipe.
- 10:28And I think a lot of people can
- 10:35understand that.
- 10:39And hopefully most people will really understand that
- 10:45you never dismiss progress simply because it seems
- 10:48small.
- 10:48A lot of people will give up because
- 10:51they don't see what they want now.
- 10:52Number seven, you are closer to your new
- 10:55self than last Friday.
- 10:58You are, whether you believe that or not.
- 11:00One week of intentional action changes you more
- 11:04than you realize.
- 11:06Give yourself credit for continuing the journey, right?
- 11:09That's an important thing that a lot of
- 11:12people don't understand.
- 11:13You've got to give yourself credit because you're
- 11:14on a journey.
- 11:15And the journey is not always easy, guys.
- 11:17The journey can sometimes be hard for people,
- 11:21okay?
- 11:24And I think that's an important thing that
- 11:27a lot of people miss.
- 11:34And I can tell you that's important.
- 11:38Number eight, notice how your choices changed.
- 11:42Success is built through decisions.
- 11:45Pay attention to the moments where you choose
- 11:47growth instead of comfort, right?
- 11:50I think that's a thing for a lot
- 11:52of people.
- 11:52And maybe it's something that you want.
- 11:57Maybe it may not be something somebody else
- 11:59wants.
- 11:59So we have to pay attention to those
- 12:01moments where we're actually focusing on growth.
- 12:04That's important.
- 12:05I know we want comfort.
- 12:06But if we focus on, let's say, growing,
- 12:12it's going to be a little uncomfortable.
- 12:13And hopefully we will definitely get used to
- 12:16that.
- 12:21Number nine, notice how your self-talk changed.
- 12:26The conversation you have with yourself shapes every
- 12:29decision you make in your life.
- 12:31Speak with encouragement instead of criticism.
- 12:34I think that's a very important thing for
- 12:37us to realize that it's got to be
- 12:43about that reason.
- 12:45And I think a lot of people don't
- 12:50realize that they have so much power, okay?
- 12:53They have a lot of power, all right?
- 12:55Number 10, adjust your systems based on reality,
- 13:00not fantasy.
- 13:01This isn't Disney.
- 13:03This isn't a movie.
- 13:04This is your life, okay?
- 13:06Create routines that fit your real life.
- 13:09Sustainable systems always outperform unrealistic plans.
- 13:12We've talked about that before.
- 13:13Many people want to do the unrealistic plans.
- 13:15But then they may not necessarily work in
- 13:19the best way, okay?
- 13:20They may not work in the best way.
- 13:22And I can say that that's something that
- 13:24a lot of people, you know, they beat
- 13:27themselves up about.
- 13:28Why am I going this way?
- 13:29Why am I doing this?
- 13:31You can change it.
- 13:32Absolutely can change it.
- 13:34Number 11, guys, keep what moved you forward.
- 13:39Drop what did not.
- 13:41Not every habit deserves another week.
- 13:43Keep the actions that created progress and release
- 13:46the ones that wasted your time.
- 13:48Many people feel that they don't want to
- 13:50do that because they're afraid of going back.
- 13:55They're afraid of going back.
- 13:57And I think that's important too, right?
- 14:01And that may be something that maybe you're
- 14:04not aware of.
- 14:07But when you become aware of it, it's
- 14:08like, okay, now I'm doing the things that
- 14:11are best for my life and to help
- 14:13me succeed.
- 14:13But I realize a lot of people, they
- 14:15get stuck in that pattern like, what is
- 14:17best for my life?
- 14:19Number 12, your life is a series of
- 14:22experiments.
- 14:23Tweak the next round.
- 14:25Your life is a game in a sense
- 14:29that don't take life completely seriously, right?
- 14:32That doesn't mean don't be serious about certain
- 14:35things.
- 14:35It just means don't take everything seriously.
- 14:37Have fun with life.
- 14:39Something doesn't work, change it.
- 14:42I've done the same thing with marketing for
- 14:43many years that, you know, something doesn't work,
- 14:46well, what could make it work?
- 14:48Treat every week as valuable data.
- 14:52When something does not work, improve it.
- 14:54Instead of quitting, so many people I know,
- 14:55they want to quit.
- 14:56And the reason they want to quit is
- 14:57because they don't have an answer.
- 15:00They don't necessarily know where they want to
- 15:03be or what they want to do.
- 15:05But the thing is, they can do a
- 15:07lot if you believe it's possible.
- 15:11If you believe it's possible.
- 15:12I know a lot of people say it's
- 15:14not possible, but it is, all right?
- 15:31And I think a lot of people hopefully
- 15:33understand that most people will realize when something
- 15:42does not work, you can improve it instead
- 15:44of quitting.
- 15:45But in the beginning, some people are going
- 15:47to quit because they just think that's the
- 15:49only way to be.
- 15:51They feel if you quit and you give
- 15:53up, that life will just be easy for
- 15:56you, okay?
- 15:57And I think that's a hard thing for
- 15:59a lot of people to realize that it's
- 16:05just like that.
- 16:06And that's something I think that's going to
- 16:13take people a while to realize.
- 16:16To realize that you have this potential, right?
- 16:20Potential that could change who you are.
- 16:23Number 13, reward yourself in ways that do
- 16:27not undo the progress you've already done.
- 16:31Celebrate it wisely, guys.
- 16:33Choose rewards that reinforce your goals instead of
- 16:35pulling you away from them.
- 16:43And again, that can be hard because you
- 16:46may have your head set on one direction,
- 16:49but you're not open to a new change,
- 16:52okay?
- 16:54And that's something that a lot of people,
- 16:56I feel, just they don't get it.
- 16:58They don't understand what it's about or why
- 17:02it's about.
- 17:04They just deny everything in their life.
- 17:13And again, this is something that I believe
- 17:15everyone's going to get better at the more
- 17:17they do it, all right?
- 17:19Number 14, rest is part of performance.
- 17:22It's not a break from it.
- 17:24We all need our rest.
- 17:26Recovery is what growth requires for us to
- 17:30transpire.
- 17:31When we sleep, our short-term memory gets
- 17:35converted to our long-term.
- 17:36Rest gives your mind and body the strength
- 17:38to perform at a higher level, right?
- 17:42It's not about pushing yourself till you collapse.
- 17:46I know a lot of people do that.
- 17:47They push themselves to collapse and then they
- 17:50wonder why there's something on the floor.
- 17:53They went way past burnout.
- 17:56Number 15, do not confuse being busy with
- 17:59leveling up.
- 18:01Many people I know do that.
- 18:02A full calendar does not guarantee meaningful progress.
- 18:07Focus on what truly you have in your
- 18:11life and what moves your life forward.
- 18:12Not the fact that you've just blocked at
- 18:15every single slot in your life and time,
- 18:18that you're so busy that you can't do
- 18:20anything.
- 18:20That's not a good thing, guys.
- 18:24Number 16, choose depth over speed.
- 18:28Mastery comes from going deeper, not faster.
- 18:33Slow intentional growth creates lasting success.
- 18:40It does, but we have to be patient
- 18:43with it.
- 18:44We cannot expect this to suddenly just, you
- 18:46know, traverse or change or whatever.
- 18:48We can't.
- 18:49There's no way to do that, unfortunately.
- 18:53No way.
- 18:55Number 17, guys, set one clear focus for
- 18:59next week.
- 19:00Can you do that for me?
- 19:01Just one.
- 19:04One meaningful priority is often more powerful than
- 19:0710 competing goals.
- 19:09Clarity creates confidence.
- 19:11And when we get confidence, guess what?
- 19:13We want to move forward.
- 19:16It becomes not just something physical, but it
- 19:20also becomes mental, okay?
- 19:23And even chemical, which pushes our body forward,
- 19:26which is a really good thing.
- 19:29But a lot of people don't realize that
- 19:32we have that power.
- 19:34Number 18, set one habit to double down
- 19:37on.
- 19:39Identify the habit that produced the greatest return
- 19:41this week and strengthen it even further for
- 19:44next week.
- 19:45Was it networking?
- 19:46Was it making phone calls?
- 19:49Was it being patient?
- 19:51What was the skill?
- 19:54So set one thing and do it.
- 19:57Number 19, set one thing to fully release.
- 20:00Whether it's procrastination, negativity, or a draining commitment,
- 20:04make the decision to let it go completely.
- 20:06Maybe you're volunteering too much, right?
- 20:09And suddenly you realize your calendar has just
- 20:11been like buffaloed.
- 20:13You don't know what to do.
- 20:14Number 20, you are building momentum.
- 20:19You're not chasing perfection.
- 20:21If you think you're chasing perfection, you're going
- 20:23to get through burnout and it's going to
- 20:24be worse and then you're going to collapse,
- 20:27okay?
- 20:27So this is a very important thing that
- 20:30I want to share with you.
- 20:33Momentum grows through consistency.
- 20:37Perfection only creates hesitation.
- 20:39Even though we think perfection is everything we
- 20:42need in our life, it's not.
- 20:44It is not.
- 20:48It causes us to become isolated.
- 20:54It causes us to get depressed.
- 20:56It causes us to lose motivation, to lose
- 21:01confidence, and to have any ounce of discipline
- 21:06that we have to just basically cause it
- 21:09to fall apart.
- 21:10I think that's a hard thing for people.
- 21:14Everything has to be aligned.
- 21:16See, when they connect, nothing's going to try
- 21:18to sabotage the other.
- 21:20Now, can something take apart discipline?
- 21:22Yes, it can.
- 21:24Is it common?
- 21:25No.
- 21:25But if you're feeling that bad about yourself,
- 21:28you can actually rewire discipline to not work
- 21:30for you.
- 21:31That's not good.
- 21:33Let your week become content, insight, and strategy.
- 21:39Again, look at the data that your week
- 21:41is producing.
- 21:42Look at it.
- 21:44It's pretty powerful, right?
- 21:50I think it's important to understand and to
- 21:53recognize that.
- 21:59All right, that's very important.
- 22:02So the next thing I want to share
- 22:04with you is your experience contains valuable lessons.
- 22:08Capture them in a journal, a podcast, a
- 22:10video, or a conversation with someone who needs
- 22:12the encouragement, just like I'm doing here.
- 22:14We're on, by the way.
- 22:15We're on the year.
- 22:16Now, in our fifth year, we are not
- 22:19complete the fifth year.
- 22:20We're four and a half years on the
- 22:23air right now.
- 22:25Number 22, document, document, document how you have
- 22:29changed.
- 22:29This is your origin story.
- 22:31Celebrate it.
- 22:32One day, you'll look back and realize these
- 22:34small weekly moments built the person you became
- 22:38today.
- 22:39Record that journey.
- 22:41Don't be afraid to tell the world about
- 22:42it because that's impressive, okay?
- 22:46And I think that's something that a lot
- 22:47of people don't realize, okay?
- 22:51They don't realize what that is.
- 22:54But I want to tell you that when
- 22:57you start to have an understanding of this,
- 22:59that's when your life starts to change.
- 23:02Don't think because, well, it's a small change
- 23:07that nothing's going to happen, okay?
- 23:10Don't think that.
- 23:11Don't think that at all, all right?
- 23:15If you realize that you can change, that's
- 23:19a big difference, okay?
- 23:24Don't think that it's just about today.
- 23:30Think about the potential and where it can
- 23:33go in your life.
- 23:33That's the key, guys, when you can understand
- 23:38how these little steps can actually compound into
- 23:42things that are much bigger.
- 23:44Number 23, you did not just survive.
- 23:47You designed.
- 23:49You're not simply reacting to life.
- 23:52Every intentional decision helps shape the future you
- 23:54want to live.
- 23:57You're not being reactive.
- 23:59You're being proactive.
- 24:02And that's where success happens.
- 24:03Number 24, this can be your new baseline,
- 24:07not your peak.
- 24:08Do not believe your best week is behind
- 24:10you.
- 24:10Raise your standard and make today's progress tomorrow's
- 24:15normal.
- 24:17A wise person once told me a long
- 24:19time ago, you want to become more successful,
- 24:22envision your future the way you want to
- 24:24be, but don't see your future as something
- 24:26that's so wowing.
- 24:29Just see it as your normal day.
- 24:31And when that happens, guys, your life actually
- 24:34changes.
- 24:35Your life changes because you see it as
- 24:40just your normal daily life.
- 24:42And I think that's a very, I think
- 24:43that's a very important thing to understand.
- 24:47So number 25, upgrade the plan, not the
- 24:50excuses.
- 24:52When something fails, improve the strategy instead of
- 24:54defending the reason it did not work.
- 24:57Better plans create better results.
- 24:59So why don't we start doing that today
- 25:02instead of making ourselves all of these amazing
- 25:05excuses, right?
- 25:06Why?
- 25:07I think that's an important thing to understand
- 25:11that that's how it is.
- 25:17And I think a lot of people don't
- 25:19realize like, you know, how that works or
- 25:22how that can embrace, right?
- 25:24But that's important to definitely understand, right?
- 25:28So number 26, you are proving you can
- 25:32let go and level up.
- 25:34That's what this whole week is about.
- 25:35Letting go and leveling up in many different
- 25:37ways.
- 25:37Every courageous choice becomes evidence that transformation is
- 25:41happening to you.
- 25:42Keep collecting that proof.
- 25:45That's going to make the difference to make
- 25:47you want to push harder, right?
- 25:49It's going to make you want to push
- 25:50harder and harder and harder.
- 25:53That's really what it's about, guys.
- 25:58It's about that whole concept.
- 26:01And I know a lot of people get
- 26:08stuck in that path.
- 26:12Number 27, old you is losing power.
- 26:16The new you is gaining proof.
- 26:18Your identity changes every time your actions align
- 26:21with your goals.
- 26:22The old version fades as the new version
- 26:24grows just a little bit stronger.
- 26:26And that can be hard for some people
- 26:28to understand.
- 26:33Number 28, close the week with intention.
- 26:39That's an important one for us to realize.
- 26:42Close the week with intention.
- 26:46And hopefully that makes some difference in your
- 26:49life.
- 26:55Before the weekend begins, take a few moments
- 26:59to express gratitude.
- 27:01Review your lessons and acknowledge your progress.
- 27:04Number 29, open the next week with clarity,
- 27:07not clutter.
- 27:07Know your priorities before Monday arrives.
- 27:09Starting with clarity and giving yourself confidence before
- 27:13the weekend begins.
- 27:14Number 30, let go and level up.
- 27:17It's now how you live, not just a
- 27:19theme.
- 27:20This is more than a motivational phrase.
- 27:21It's a commitment to becoming stronger through intentional
- 27:24action every single week.
- 27:26As we wrap up today and the week,
- 27:27remember this.
- 27:28Your greatest competition is not another person.
- 27:31It is the version of yourself that believes
- 27:33growth is impossible.
- 27:35Every week, review honesty.
- 27:36Reward wisely and reset intentionally.
- 27:38You become someone stronger, wiser, and more resilient.
- 27:42Do not wait for a new year to
- 27:44reinvent yourself.
- 27:45You have another opportunity every single Friday.
- 27:47Review your victories.
- 27:49Learn from your setbacks.
- 27:50Celebrate your progress, even the small ones.
- 27:52Adjust your systems.
- 27:54Then walk confidently into the next week knowing
- 27:57you are no longer hoping for a better
- 27:59future.
- 28:00You are actively creating one.
