- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven seventy one through seven seventy three,
- 0:17Speaker 1: A vow between two men, Lufy and Kozuki Momonosku, the
- 0:23Speaker 1: legendary journey the Dog and the Cat and the Pirate King,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and the Nightmare returns the Invincible Jack's fierce attack. In
- 0:35Speaker 1: these episodes, I really enjoy it. Every time Lufy doesn't
- 0:41Speaker 1: give everybody the response they're looking for, and this section
- 0:46Speaker 1: was no different. He is telling Pomenoske, if you're gonna
- 0:52Speaker 1: throw your fucking weight around, you better earn that shit,
- 0:55Speaker 1: and I can respect it. Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome
- 1:18Speaker 1: to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very
- 1:22Speaker 1: much to Florian for commissioning this episode. And Florian is
- 1:26Speaker 1: here in the chat with me as well. Appreciate having you.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's also noting noteworthy to me that Florian is here
- 1:33Speaker 1: when it's the last recording of the day, which means
- 1:35Speaker 1: it is latest fuck there, so I extra appreciate the
- 1:40Speaker 1: effort of attendance. So these three chapters are really sort
- 1:47Speaker 1: of the transitional chapters I kind of want to call
- 1:51Speaker 1: them of, like we are going from a. We're going
- 1:58Speaker 1: from the planning stages of the attack into a new
- 2:06Speaker 1: part of the arc, and I'm really curious how this
- 2:08Speaker 1: is going to shake out, because what I think is
- 2:11Speaker 1: sort of compelling is that we have all of our
- 2:17Speaker 1: friends agreeing to split up so that Lufy can go
- 2:21Speaker 1: and rescue Soanji, and then that whole thing is interrupted
- 2:28Speaker 1: by this attack on the elephant. And I don't know
- 2:33Speaker 1: if they're going to try and like sort of have
- 2:38Speaker 1: it both ways where Lufi is going to attack them
- 2:41Speaker 1: on his way out to Soanjy. But I feel like
- 2:45Speaker 1: this is gonna have to result in him postponing his
- 2:49Speaker 1: original plans, because it's one thing if they're coming back
- 2:53Speaker 1: and attacking Zoe, because we know that our friends, you know,
- 2:57Speaker 1: they're going to be able to handle this, they've put.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Them off before.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But they're coming at this from the direction of let's
- 3:05Speaker 1: take down the elephant itself, and from the way from
- 3:12Speaker 1: the way everybody is reacting and the way that it's
- 3:14Speaker 1: proposed by Jack. It seems pretty clear to me that
- 3:18Speaker 1: this has never been attempted before, so it's very much
- 3:23Speaker 1: more than it has in the past. It's like an
- 3:26Speaker 1: unknown quantity in terms of how effective this can possibly be.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And there's also of course, setting all of like the
- 3:35Speaker 1: practical practical aspects of this aside. There is the fact
- 3:40Speaker 1: that Momonosque and Loofy can hear a voice at the
- 3:45Speaker 1: end of this last of the three episodes, and I
- 3:52Speaker 1: think that it's the voice of the elephant. But it's
- 3:57Speaker 1: weird because it's asking for them to give him an order.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And I do not know what this means if it's like,
- 4:09Speaker 1: is this elephant not allowed to defend itself unless somebody
- 4:16Speaker 1: like gives him explicit permission? Because this elephant is over
- 4:22Speaker 1: a thousand years old, right, Zo is a much older
- 4:26Speaker 1: place than like the settled United States, and a thousand
- 4:33Speaker 1: years i'd like there is I don't know how much
- 4:39Speaker 1: anybody knows about this elephant and the founding of this
- 4:43Speaker 1: place and how any of this works. And I am
- 4:46Speaker 1: genuinely curious because this elephant has been you know, the
- 4:53Speaker 1: whole way that it like pours water on itself. It's
- 4:56Speaker 1: got a major impact on the land and the people
- 5:01Speaker 1: living on it. It's not as if they are really
- 5:03Speaker 1: able to forget that the elephant exists and is a thing,
- 5:07Speaker 1: because it's interacting with the terrain all the time. So
- 5:14Speaker 1: the question of whether or not they could have gotten
- 5:19Speaker 1: to know the elephant before is it's like a valid question.
- 5:25Speaker 1: But because of the fact that there's only two people
- 5:27Speaker 1: that seem to be able to hear it, I'm very
- 5:30Speaker 1: curious what that's about. I would have assumed this is
- 5:34Speaker 1: like a dragon fruit thing or devil fruit thing dragon fruit,
- 5:40Speaker 1: but apparently Brooke can't hear it. And I mean it's
- 5:46Speaker 1: not like I don't know, does Momonoske have a D
- 5:54Speaker 1: as his middle initial? Is this going to turn out
- 5:56Speaker 1: to be like a D skill?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I'm just I really am curious about both how what
- 6:09Speaker 1: this is going to turn out to be and like
- 6:12Speaker 1: whether or not it's going to result in Loofy not
- 6:15Speaker 1: being able to leave to help Sanji the way that
- 6:18Speaker 1: he planned, or if we're gonna sort of carry on.
- 6:20Speaker 2: With that anyway. So I'm gonna back up and.
- 6:22Speaker 1: We'll start from the beginning as usual. But yeah, I uh,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I these episodes, once we get into this like Final Attack,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I was re engaged. But I'm gonna be honest, you guys,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I think where this show is at its weakest. I mean,
- 6:48Speaker 1: you all know that I have a tendency to sort
- 6:50Speaker 1: of tune out during long battle sequences because they can
- 6:54Speaker 1: get really repetitive. However, I know that's kind of really
- 6:58Speaker 1: specifically a me thing, and it's not necess necessarily like
- 7:01Speaker 1: a weakness of the show. It's just sort of how
- 7:04Speaker 1: I react to action sequences in anything. I will begin
- 7:10Speaker 1: to tune out if they go on too long. In movies,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you know, don't care how many explosions you decide to
- 7:17Speaker 1: insert into this. I have already seen eleven other explosions.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Throwing in an extra dozen isn't really going to get
- 7:26Speaker 1: my attention. And this will happen in books as well,
- 7:30Speaker 1: and The Cradle books were ones where like toward the end,
- 7:32Speaker 1: it gets really action heavy, and I have said during
- 7:37Speaker 1: coverage that there were long stretches that I straight up
- 7:40Speaker 1: had to go back and re listen to, so I
- 7:42Speaker 1: didn't because I tuned out. Now, that's all preference. I
- 7:49Speaker 1: feel like that's all like a very distinct me opinion.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But I think I could be agreed with by enough
- 8:03Speaker 1: people to kind of come to the unanimous decision on this,
- 8:08Speaker 1: And I'm curious how you all feel. I think that
- 8:14Speaker 1: when the show starts to get into a lot of exposition.
- 8:20Speaker 2: That is when it begins to lose me a little bit.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And I'm not entirely sure, Like I don't have a
- 8:29Speaker 1: great example that is like an example of everything I'm
- 8:34Speaker 1: thinking when I say this, But we have a lot
- 8:37Speaker 1: of info dump in both this section and the previous
- 8:41Speaker 1: one regarding the pony glyphs and the history between cat
- 8:50Speaker 1: Viper and dog Storm and Goldie Roger, and I feel
- 8:56Speaker 1: like this is the sort of thing that could have
- 8:59Speaker 1: been done in a way that was a bit more
- 9:02Speaker 1: engaging than just sort of telling us.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And it's not like we don't get.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Little flashbacks and stuff as well, But it is still,
- 9:12Speaker 1: in the end, just them standing with Lufy explaining to
- 9:17Speaker 1: him what things are or who people are, or the
- 9:21Speaker 1: relationship that they had. And if it were the only
- 9:26Speaker 1: thing they were doing this with, I don't think it
- 9:28Speaker 1: would feel so tedious isn't really the right word. It's
- 9:36Speaker 1: just sort of so samey that after they have explained
- 9:41Speaker 1: a bunch of other things in the previous sections, for
- 9:44Speaker 1: us to come into this one and for there to
- 9:46Speaker 1: be additional explanation of things and description of things, I
- 9:52Speaker 1: started to definitely sort of zone out and have to
- 9:56Speaker 1: come back and rewind and of like tune back in
- 10:01Speaker 1: very specifically, because I was realizing that things were sort
- 10:06Speaker 1: of like washing over me and I wasn't catching the details.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So all that said, I do I do want to
- 10:13Speaker 1: like apologize if there are details in this that I
- 10:17Speaker 1: wound up missing that later on you're gonna be like,
- 10:20Speaker 1: but they explained all this. I just it doesn't always land.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And I think that's part of the danger when.
- 10:31Speaker 2: You do a lot of like drawn out.
- 10:38Speaker 1: What mouth noises, I guess, you know, they'll be a
- 10:41Speaker 1: person who starts to say and then and then.
- 10:49Speaker 2: They were all killed.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And it takes like two full minutes to get to
- 10:52Speaker 1: the end of the sentence where we find out everybody
- 10:55Speaker 1: died or you know anything, And I will literally find
- 10:59Speaker 1: myself just like my mind starts to wander before they
- 11:03Speaker 1: even reach the end of the sentence because it takes
- 11:07Speaker 1: so long to get to the point. So it's like
- 11:11Speaker 1: a combination of that and a combination of wishing that
- 11:17Speaker 1: we took more time with certain details so that we
- 11:19Speaker 1: could actually see those instead of it just being a
- 11:22Speaker 1: story that we are told later. So all right, I'm
- 11:29Speaker 1: jumping into the first of these three episodes here and
- 11:36Speaker 1: this is when, like the last episode ended with Lufy
- 11:39Speaker 1: finding out that the uh one of the samurai actually
- 11:44Speaker 1: made it to Laughtail, and the episode is mostly about
- 11:53Speaker 1: what happened to Momo's.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Dad, what the deal is with the.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Oh my god, his name help me out, Florian.
- 12:05Speaker 2: What is the name of the guy they're about to
- 12:06Speaker 2: go up against? And it starts with a K.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But the way that the tone of the episode starts
- 12:14Speaker 1: is Momonosk is crying and Lufy is sort of like
- 12:19Speaker 1: pushing him to get the story out of him, because
- 12:22Speaker 1: he is allowing the samurai to speak on his behalf
- 12:26Speaker 1: about his own father, and it's sort of setting the
- 12:30Speaker 1: tone for how Lufy feels about this entire thing. So there,
- 12:37Speaker 1: and there's a moment like later where Nami is like, oh,
- 12:41Speaker 1: poor Momonoske, and she sort of moves to comfort him,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and Lufy actually like puts a hand out and stops her.
- 12:50Speaker 1: And I already had my suspicions about like what was
- 12:56Speaker 1: going on in his head, But once we get to
- 12:59Speaker 1: the end and we see exactly how he has chosen
- 13:02Speaker 1: to like approach this, I really liked it.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I just.
- 13:09Speaker 1: You know, It is kind of a weird thing because
- 13:13Speaker 1: Maminoski simultaneously wants a loofy to bow down and wants
- 13:18Speaker 1: to be in charge and treated that like he is
- 13:20Speaker 1: in charge when he feels like it, but then when
- 13:25Speaker 1: something is too big and overwhelming and emotionally impactful, he
- 13:32Speaker 1: is very happy to fade to the background and let
- 13:34Speaker 1: the samurai take it on for him. And if you
- 13:38Speaker 1: want to be a leader, you can't do that now.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Granted the kid is literally eight years old. I am
- 13:49Speaker 1: very much a believer in that we underestimate kids in general,
- 13:55Speaker 1: that in many ways they're smarter than we give them
- 13:57Speaker 1: credit for, and that we should probably be like less
- 14:04Speaker 1: protective of them overall in certain ways than we are.
- 14:09Speaker 1: That said, it's always very difficult for me when I
- 14:13Speaker 1: see a child, a literal child in the single digits,
- 14:19Speaker 1: being told to behave more like a grown man.
- 14:24Speaker 2: It's just.
- 14:26Speaker 1: It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me,
- 14:29Speaker 1: because like, nothing about that is real. It's it's pretend,
- 14:38Speaker 1: but everything is pretend when it comes to leadership, Like, honestly,
- 14:43Speaker 1: there's there can be truth in it, but it's all
- 14:46Speaker 1: much more about your reputation and pr in a lot
- 14:49Speaker 1: of ways than anything based in reality. So it's just
- 14:55Speaker 1: it feels like demanding something really unfair. However, I guess
- 15:01Speaker 1: if you're in the position of being a prince, you
- 15:05Speaker 1: are going to be wielding so much responsibility that of
- 15:07Speaker 1: course more is going to be asked of you than
- 15:11Speaker 1: it would be asked of any normal kid. So I
- 15:17Speaker 1: guess it's sort of like the same situation in some ways,
- 15:21Speaker 1: as like the opening of Song of Ice and Fire.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Once you get past the prolog, you are with Bran
- 15:29Speaker 1: and he is seeing this guy get beheaded, and he's
- 15:32Speaker 1: only seven years old, and he feels like that means
- 15:35Speaker 1: that he is old enough that he can't cry or
- 15:37Speaker 1: behave as if he is upset by this execution, he
- 15:41Speaker 1: has to completely hold it together. And it just breaks
- 15:48Speaker 1: my heart to see how little he is already feeling
- 15:52Speaker 1: this way. So yeah, I just like I get where
- 15:58Speaker 1: Lufy's coming from. I agree with him in terms of
- 16:06Speaker 1: the impression that it's going to leave on his followers,
- 16:09Speaker 1: the people around him, his men. I think that the
- 16:14Speaker 1: advice Lufy is giving here actually is good and solid
- 16:20Speaker 1: and will serve him in a long run, But it's
- 16:24Speaker 1: just so deeply unfair that I.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Don't like that it's good advice. Does that make sense?
- 16:33Speaker 1: I don't want this to be valid.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I just but that's the fucking way it works. I guess.
- 16:42Speaker 1: So who asked me? Oh, Florian, says Kaido, King of
- 16:48Speaker 1: the Beasts. Thank you, Florian. You have a different This
- 16:51Speaker 1: happens sometimes with you. You're icon changed. So for a
- 16:54Speaker 1: second I thought you were a different person, but both
- 16:56Speaker 1: of the you are Florian.
- 16:58Speaker 2: So let's see.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I'm trying I'm jumping around so much as I'm talking
- 17:04Speaker 1: about these things, So apologies for when I'm like trying
- 17:08Speaker 1: to regroup and figure out where to begin with it,
- 17:11Speaker 1: like talking about the next session because section, because uh,
- 17:16Speaker 1: everything that I'm talking about takes like the whole episode
- 17:21Speaker 1: or sometimes all three episodes, and then I have to
- 17:24Speaker 1: like back up again. We have a mention of the
- 17:29Speaker 1: Void Century and the reminder of how like the world
- 17:33Speaker 1: government arose during the Void Century and they have made
- 17:37Speaker 1: it illegal for anybody to research or investigate the Void Century,
- 17:42Speaker 1: which is just honestly, really really funny. It's the sort
- 17:45Speaker 1: of thing that's like, you know, if they have the
- 17:48Speaker 1: power to enforce it, then I get doing it this way,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but it is so transparently suspicious. There's nothing about this
- 17:57Speaker 1: that doesn't scream we did something extra realmly probably like
- 18:03Speaker 1: super villain level shady. That it's just everybody has to
- 18:12Speaker 1: know that's what was done, but they are all intimidated
- 18:17Speaker 1: enough or just in that weird place that we're in
- 18:20Speaker 1: now in twenty twenty five, where it's like, yeah, I
- 18:23Speaker 1: know that this is completely corrupt and unjust, but I.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Have a job that I have to get to.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I have to pay my electric bill, I need to
- 18:30Speaker 1: go get gas, like I have an actual life to live,
- 18:34Speaker 1: and yes, all of these other things are unfair and suck,
- 18:39Speaker 1: but I can't be bothered. It's not relevant to my
- 18:42Speaker 1: immediate life, so whatever you know. And so, like Robin
- 18:50Speaker 1: is thinking about all of this in regard to the
- 18:54Speaker 1: ponent glyph and all of the implications.
- 18:57Speaker 2: About what was going there.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Going on there, we get the reminder of all of
- 19:02Speaker 1: the people that she was working with to translate stuff
- 19:04Speaker 1: and do research getting murdered. And u Zorro says, so
- 19:11Speaker 1: you're saying that Kaido was using do Flamingo and Caesar
- 19:15Speaker 1: to try and learn these secrets of the world or
- 19:18Speaker 1: whatever from you, since you guys were Odin's servants, and
- 19:25Speaker 1: I just want to mention like that his name being Odin,
- 19:28Speaker 1: it's O D E N. And I keep getting brought
- 19:33Speaker 1: up short thinking that it is, you know, the like
- 19:36Speaker 1: Norse god, but uh and I it may be a
- 19:39Speaker 1: reference to the Norse god, but it's not spelled the
- 19:41Speaker 1: same way. And also laughtail. I didn't realize that it
- 19:45Speaker 1: is like literally the words laugh and then tail like
- 19:49Speaker 1: a story and it is that is so I don't
- 19:54Speaker 1: know how I didn't see a subtitle saying laughtail up
- 19:58Speaker 1: to now and didn't realize how it was spelled. I
- 20:02Speaker 1: just saw the subtitles when I watched these episodes today
- 20:05Speaker 1: for the first time and was like, oh my god,
- 20:08Speaker 1: that's what that that's what they're saying. Like it was
- 20:11Speaker 1: just a weird realization because I thought it was all
- 20:14Speaker 1: one word, and then it was just sort of a
- 20:16Speaker 1: strange It almost sounds like Swedish left tail, like you
- 20:20Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Realizing that these are actually like
- 20:23Speaker 1: words in English that are just put together. I should
- 20:26Speaker 1: have realized because a lot of the islands are named
- 20:30Speaker 1: in this way. This is like the naming convention that
- 20:32Speaker 1: he goes with a lot of the time, but uh,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I was not getting it, so apologies for that. So anyway,
- 20:40Speaker 1: this is when Oosup is saying, like, wait, if you
- 20:43Speaker 1: knew the mysteries of these ponoglyphs all along, why didn't
- 20:47Speaker 1: you tell anybody? And Keineman says, we actually don't know anything.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Odin didn't tell us any of the secrets. So they're
- 20:56Speaker 1: chasing us and they're certain that we know, but we don't,
- 21:01Speaker 1: and if we did, we still wouldn't fucking tell anybody.
- 21:05Speaker 1: But they're never gonna stop chasing us because they don't
- 21:08Speaker 1: believe that we don't know anything. So the only option
- 21:12Speaker 1: left is to fight. And it was very funny to
- 21:17Speaker 1: me here because I had a moment and this is like,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I don't actually believe this, just to be clear, but
- 21:23Speaker 1: I definitely had a moment of thinking, you guys, like
- 21:28Speaker 1: the Minks all swore up and down that Riizo wasn't here,
- 21:33Speaker 1: and then it turned out that he was. So you saying,
- 21:37Speaker 1: we have no idea anything about this, I would be
- 21:41Speaker 1: excused if I didn't believe you. I think I do
- 21:45Speaker 1: believe them. I actually there's not really a good reason
- 21:49Speaker 1: for them to lie to this group right now. But
- 21:52Speaker 1: I was thinking, like, y'all are pretty hardcore when it
- 21:57Speaker 1: comes to keeping secrets for the people that you have
- 22:02Speaker 1: loyalty to. So if it turned out that you did know,
- 22:05Speaker 1: and we're just saying you didn't hear, I wouldn't be surprised,
- 22:09Speaker 1: you know. So uh yeah, he says, we all failed.
- 22:17Speaker 1: This is Kinemon to protect our lord as Samurai. We
- 22:20Speaker 1: bear a great burden of shame, but we shall press
- 22:23Speaker 1: onward for one cause into our memories is Odin's final request.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Until that deed is fulfilled, we cannot allow ourselves a
- 22:34Speaker 1: moment of respite. And dog Storm and cat Viper are
- 22:38Speaker 1: both chiming in as this as well. And it was like, okay,
- 22:42Speaker 1: what was the last thing he said? And Kinilmon says
- 22:47Speaker 1: before he left the last words to us, and everybody
- 22:53Speaker 1: like looks up word, do.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It for me?
- 22:55Speaker 1: Open Wanos borders. So it turns out that Wano is
- 23:03Speaker 1: like isolated from the entire rest of the world. Nobody
- 23:08Speaker 1: is allowed to leave the country and nobody is allowed
- 23:13Speaker 1: either to enter either. But if the borders are opened,
- 23:18Speaker 1: then they can interact with other countries. And this is
- 23:24Speaker 1: very interesting to me because like the fact that they
- 23:27Speaker 1: are sealed, and the fact that they are the ones
- 23:29Speaker 1: that had historically created these ponoglyphs, and the fact that
- 23:34Speaker 1: there is a void century that nobody is supposed to research,
- 23:37Speaker 1: and all of this to me is pointing to likelihood
- 23:45Speaker 1: that actually there is some evidence on Wano of what
- 23:50Speaker 1: happened during the Void century, and that the isolation of
- 23:55Speaker 1: this island in this community is to protect whatever secret
- 24:00Speaker 1: they're keeping. And yeah, I am in one of those
- 24:08Speaker 1: those places where like anything that is officially sanctioned At
- 24:14Speaker 1: this point, I'm just like, well, that must be bullshit.
- 24:16Speaker 1: There's something shady about this. There's no evidence, necessarily, but
- 24:21Speaker 1: there is a pattern, which I consider evidence in its way,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and I think that the isolation of Wano is probably
- 24:32Speaker 1: being framed as like a benefit for the community itself,
- 24:36Speaker 1: maybe even to like protect them from something, but is
- 24:41Speaker 1: very likely simply about keeping information locked down. So let's see,
- 24:51Speaker 1: Condrea is talking about how they have shamed ourselves, and
- 24:55Speaker 1: you know that he died on our watch basically, so
- 24:59Speaker 1: our only way of saving face is to follow his orders,
- 25:05Speaker 1: kill the current shogun and open the closed borders to
- 25:09Speaker 1: our country, Kinemon says. Achieving said feet is our deepest desire,
- 25:16Speaker 1: but due to the combined strength of the Shogun and
- 25:18Speaker 1: Kaido WANO's stuck in a lockdown back at home, the
- 25:23Speaker 1: seeds of rebellion are slowly being sown, yet we fall short.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Our numbers are lacking as of yet, and our victory
- 25:31Speaker 1: is a distant hope. I don't remember if they say
- 25:37Speaker 1: who the Shogun is. I feel like they've said the
- 25:41Speaker 1: name of this person and I can't remember who it is.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Throughout all of this, in the background, Momo is crying
- 25:51Speaker 1: like into his sleeve, and this is the moment where
- 25:54Speaker 1: Nami starts to go toward him. So we reach the
- 25:59Speaker 1: point where where finally Kinemon says, you know, I hate
- 26:04Speaker 1: to ask this because of everything that you guys have
- 26:06Speaker 1: done for us already, but I we really need your
- 26:11Speaker 1: help in taking.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Down the Showgun. Will you please?
- 26:16Speaker 1: I know it's a lot to ask, but it's what
- 26:18Speaker 1: we've been working toward this entire time. Will you please
- 26:22Speaker 1: help us take him out? And it's kind of fun
- 26:27Speaker 1: where everybody is sort of.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Giving these like.
- 26:34Speaker 1: They each explain why they think it makes sense to
- 26:41Speaker 1: jump into this fight, and you know, all of this
- 26:46Speaker 1: setting up the fact that they all are on board.
- 26:51Speaker 2: It's a given in their minds.
- 26:54Speaker 1: They don't feel any way about them asking for this
- 26:57Speaker 1: as a favor after everything that they've already been through.
- 27:01Speaker 1: In their minds, it's just like, yeah, what another adventure.
- 27:05Speaker 1: And we were sort of like going in this direction
- 27:09Speaker 1: with things anyway, it doesn't matter, like, of course we'll
- 27:13Speaker 1: throw down with you guys. And then we have like
- 27:16Speaker 1: it cuts to Loofy and they're looking at him for
- 27:19Speaker 1: his response, and we get an interstitial and then it
- 27:25Speaker 1: comes back and I was kind of delighted, honestly with
- 27:30Speaker 1: the fact that, like there's that break where you're just
- 27:33Speaker 1: looking at him waiting for his response, because they don't
- 27:36Speaker 1: do that very often with Loofy, specifically because he's so
- 27:41Speaker 1: impulsive that they just sort of let it ride a
- 27:43Speaker 1: lot of the time, you know. So it comes back
- 27:47Speaker 1: to Loofy after the interstitial and he just says, I refuse,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and I refuse. Is it's just such a way, like
- 28:03Speaker 1: it's not just no, it's not just like, you know,
- 28:11Speaker 1: we need to figure things out. There's something very declarative
- 28:14Speaker 1: about I refuse that. I was like, oh, word, that
- 28:17Speaker 1: feels like like it's got some mustard on it, you know,
- 28:22Speaker 1: and everybody is just wait, what.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Did he say? What I think he said? And Usup
- 28:28Speaker 2: is like, you need to think it through.
- 28:30Speaker 1: You can't just turn them down in this way, and
- 28:33Speaker 1: they all to start to get genuinely upset about the
- 28:36Speaker 1: fact that these guys are our friends. Why would you
- 28:38Speaker 1: leave them in the lurch like this. Usup starts to
- 28:42Speaker 1: like beat him up and like shake him and goes
- 28:45Speaker 1: up to the Samurai and it's just like, hey, give
- 28:47Speaker 1: us a second, we just need to talk things through.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Just let us figure it out. Nami is like, you know,
- 28:57Speaker 1: she gives in again to her instincts to sort of
- 29:04Speaker 1: protect Momo and is like, hey, don't listen to him.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Our idiot captain can just be like this sometimes, and
- 29:13Speaker 1: so she's like wanting to hug him again, and Brooke
- 29:18Speaker 1: is saying the soft part out loud, which is he's
- 29:24Speaker 1: just a little kid. Everybody take it easy on him.
- 29:28Speaker 2: The adults will figure.
- 29:29Speaker 1: It out, and we will basically tell him how it's
- 29:33Speaker 1: gonna be. And then it's like, Womanoske understands, I think
- 29:42Speaker 1: what it is that Lufy is attempting to do here.
- 29:46Speaker 1: He's like clocking the lesson underneath it all, I think.
- 29:52Speaker 1: So he walks right past Nami and you hear him
- 29:59Speaker 1: in his head head and he's thinking, he's remembering the
- 30:02Speaker 1: moment where his father was taken away from him, and
- 30:05Speaker 1: it's honestly really sad. He's in silhouette and he's just
- 30:09Speaker 1: this little tyke, you know, just the pain of this loss.
- 30:14Speaker 1: And uh, he says to I'm trying to get to
- 30:20Speaker 1: the spot where he was an enemy to both of
- 30:23Speaker 1: my parents and also responsible for their untimely deaths. And
- 30:27Speaker 1: I want revenge on I want nothing more than to
- 30:30Speaker 1: grow up and become strong so that I may one
- 30:33Speaker 1: day smite him and avenge my mother and father. I
- 30:37Speaker 1: wish to protect my loyal servants as well, and Knemon
- 30:44Speaker 1: starts to chime in and be like, ah, man, dude,
- 30:48Speaker 1: I'm like, I didn't expect you even to be involved
- 30:52Speaker 1: in this conversation, and he seems to not really know
- 30:55Speaker 1: what to do about it, and then we go back
- 30:57Speaker 1: to Momo and he's like, but I'm too small to
- 31:00Speaker 1: really do anything. I am useless in a battle, So
- 31:05Speaker 1: I am begging you for this favor. Please help me fight,
- 31:10Speaker 1: and he falls to his knees and bows in front
- 31:13Speaker 1: of Loofy and says, I am, I must beg of you,
- 31:19Speaker 1: and then Lufy says, that's more like it. Hey, Momo,
- 31:27Speaker 1: let's make a deal. Let's team up. Just leave Kaido
- 31:32Speaker 1: to me, and it's an alliance. And he holds his
- 31:35Speaker 1: hand out and it's so cute because Momo grasps his
- 31:39Speaker 1: hand with a both of his own hands, like he
- 31:43Speaker 1: presses his face against his hand like it's very much
- 31:46Speaker 1: a it feels very emotional, and Lufy is like no, no, no, no, no,
- 31:51Speaker 1: grab it tight like this, go bam, you know, like
- 31:55Speaker 1: you've got to have a feeling of power and purpose
- 32:00Speaker 1: behind it. And I just really liked this bit of
- 32:05Speaker 1: theater from Loofy because I don't Loofy, I'm sure doesn't
- 32:11Speaker 1: see it as theater, even though it is. I think
- 32:15Speaker 1: when he does all this stuff, he means it, and
- 32:18Speaker 1: I think a lot of people mean it. But that
- 32:20Speaker 1: doesn't mean that it's not theater and that you mean
- 32:23Speaker 1: it because you were taught in the first place that
- 32:26Speaker 1: it means something specific. So yeah, like Mama has been like,
- 32:31Speaker 1: but I am grabbing your hand and he's like no, no, no,
- 32:33Speaker 1: this way, And we go around to all of the allies,
- 32:38Speaker 1: and Kinanmon himself is saying, you know, it didn't occur
- 32:46Speaker 1: to me, but we were infantilizing him. So I guess,
- 32:51Speaker 1: like straw Hat really made a good point here, and
- 32:54Speaker 1: probably this is the beginning of a new era. And
- 32:58Speaker 1: I had noticed at the beginning of this episode, and
- 33:00Speaker 1: I I really want to preface this by saying, I
- 33:06Speaker 1: do not think that this episode is the first time
- 33:09Speaker 1: that it's happened, but I noticed it specifically this time
- 33:13Speaker 1: for the first time.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I don't know why, but at.
- 33:16Speaker 1: One point the show transitioned from calling Lufy a boy
- 33:24Speaker 1: whose body became rubber after eating the Gumgum fruit to
- 33:28Speaker 1: now calling him a rubber man. And I'm not sure
- 33:33Speaker 1: if this is actually meant to be an indication that
- 33:35Speaker 1: he has grown up, or saying rubberman just has a
- 33:39Speaker 1: better ring to it than rubber boy, or what you know.
- 33:43Speaker 1: But I noticed that they were calling him a man,
- 33:46Speaker 1: and then they had this whole thing happen with Momonoske,
- 33:49Speaker 1: and I was like, Oh, everybody's grown up, even though
- 33:52Speaker 1: Momonosque is still he's too.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Young to have grown up. I'm so sorry, he's eight
- 33:57Speaker 2: years old.
- 33:57Speaker 1: This is not fair to ask of him, but also
- 33:59Speaker 1: it is to be done, so you know, like, what
- 34:02Speaker 1: are you gonna do?
- 34:05Speaker 2: And I do like that.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Law comes up to Loofy and is like, hey man,
- 34:09Speaker 1: you really should have run this by me first, and
- 34:12Speaker 1: Lufy is like, well, but it's cool for us to
- 34:16Speaker 1: do this, isn't it. And Las says, well yeah, but still,
- 34:21Speaker 1: and I couldn't help but laugh because I really need
- 34:26Speaker 1: you to figure this out. Law. You aren't not in charge.
- 34:30Speaker 1: You aren't really a consideration. Even Loufy is gonna do
- 34:35Speaker 1: what he gonna do. And if you happen to be
- 34:39Speaker 1: able to come along, great, and if you aren't able
- 34:44Speaker 1: to come along, he'll see you tomorrow. It's just not
- 34:48Speaker 1: about you, bro, And you're not You're not part of
- 34:51Speaker 1: this really not really you are, but it's always just
- 34:56Speaker 1: because you decided, and it's not because that's the expect Haiti,
- 35:00Speaker 1: even that Louvi has I don't think you know so anyway,
- 35:06Speaker 1: That is the first of these three episodes, and then
- 35:11Speaker 1: the next episode, the Legendary Journey The Dog and the
- 35:15Speaker 1: Cat and the Pirate King. This is when Loofy finds
- 35:20Speaker 1: out about the fact that Dog Storm and Cat Viper
- 35:26Speaker 1: traveled with.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Gold Roger.
- 35:31Speaker 1: And it's also when Lufy says that I will help
- 35:34Speaker 1: you guys on one condition before we go anywhere. My
- 35:38Speaker 1: crew is down a man right now, and he says
- 35:43Speaker 1: something like, Soanji is as strong as ten thousand people.
- 35:48Speaker 1: He says something that's like really pretty awesome in terms
- 35:53Speaker 1: of how he thinks of Sonji's capabilities, and like, Sonji
- 35:58Speaker 1: is hella strong. So I'm not at all mad at
- 36:03Speaker 1: him making this comparison, even though it might be a
- 36:05Speaker 1: little bit over the top. I don't even know that
- 36:07Speaker 1: it's that over the top, you know. And Dogstorm didn't
- 36:13Speaker 1: know about any of this because he was asleep while
- 36:15Speaker 1: this was going on and kat Viper hadn't had a
- 36:17Speaker 1: chance to bring him up to speed.
- 36:19Speaker 2: So he's just hearing for the first.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Time that Sanji is about to like marry into Big
- 36:24Speaker 1: Mom's family and everybody else like they're keenum one as well.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Is just sort of like, oh, I didn't understand, That's
- 36:33Speaker 1: why he wasn't here. So yeah, he's like, everybody pause
- 36:36Speaker 1: here until I'm able to go collect him. Here he is,
- 36:41Speaker 1: He's as strong as a thousand people. Trust me when
- 36:44Speaker 1: I say this'll be worth it. And Zoro says that
- 36:47Speaker 1: I'm worth two thousand people, and Nammy just pats him
- 36:51Speaker 1: on the head and says, of course you are. And
- 36:54Speaker 1: I love her reaction to this, I really do. I
- 36:58Speaker 1: hadn't noticed. Like the previous episode, when Robin is saying
- 37:03Speaker 1: that her friends are strong and they'll take care of her,
- 37:05Speaker 1: Nammy says something about how anybody that gets in their way,
- 37:09Speaker 1: she'll kill them and steal all their money. And I
- 37:12Speaker 1: don't know why, but everybody else is just threatening to
- 37:15Speaker 1: do violence, but not me, being like, I'm going to
- 37:18Speaker 1: do violence and then I am going to.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Make money off it. I was like, you are so ruthless.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I love you so much.
- 37:25Speaker 1: So dog Storm is like, hey, big Mom is nobody
- 37:29Speaker 1: to fuck with, just like be prepared, and he says, oh,
- 37:36Speaker 1: I'm not fighting Big Mom. This is loofy. And he says,
- 37:40Speaker 1: I'm taking Lion Viper, which is what he is calling
- 37:45Speaker 1: the well lion guy that is going to be his
- 37:51Speaker 1: ally here, which I really enjoy Lion Viper.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Why not sure?
- 37:58Speaker 1: So this this is when we go over to Jack's ship.
- 38:03Speaker 1: He's got sheepshead dangling upside down from the pirate ship
- 38:10Speaker 1: equivalent of a fucking meat hook, and this dude is bloody,
- 38:15Speaker 1: and it is clear he is being punished for what
- 38:18Speaker 1: he did for.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Just not succeeding. I just want to be very clear
- 38:26Speaker 2: that when we are in.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Gin Rummy's head, she says something like he'd better not
- 38:32Speaker 1: fucking tell this dude that we left those people alive
- 38:36Speaker 1: and got our asses handed to us. And when I
- 38:40Speaker 1: realized that, like this is how angry Jack has gotten
- 38:44Speaker 1: when he doesn't even know the whole story and how
- 38:47Speaker 1: bad it all is, I definitely had a like, oh
- 38:50Speaker 1: damn kind of moment because I thought that's what he
- 38:53Speaker 1: was punishing him for, and I have to assume that
- 38:56Speaker 1: if he knew the rest of it, he'd literally kill him.
- 39:00Speaker 1: So this is the point where Jack says something about
- 39:06Speaker 1: how we've been coming out this the whole wrong way.
- 39:08Speaker 1: We need to attack the elephant itself, and jin Rummy
- 39:12Speaker 1: is like, the thing is colossal. Where would you even
- 39:17Speaker 1: start on taking something.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Like that down?
- 39:20Speaker 1: And it turns out the legs is where you start,
- 39:26Speaker 1: which does make sense, but it's.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Uh, it's really you guys.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I can't emphasize enough how much I hated the scene
- 39:43Speaker 1: of seeing them firing on this poor elephant's legs. This
- 39:48Speaker 1: surprises no one. You all know what a fray and
- 39:52Speaker 1: softy I am when it comes to the animals on
- 39:55Speaker 1: this show. I'm not like, this is not interesting. In
- 40:02Speaker 1: other words, I understand, and I'm sorry, but I have
- 40:07Speaker 1: to tell you that it was a big struggle for
- 40:12Speaker 1: me personally to not fast forward because it goes on
- 40:16Speaker 1: longer than I was gonna say, longer than I wanted to.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Of course it does because it's happening. The only way
- 40:24Speaker 1: for it not to go on longer than I want
- 40:26Speaker 1: it to go on is for it to not happen
- 40:28Speaker 1: at all, which isn't an option here.
- 40:30Speaker 2: But it's just so sad because like.
- 40:33Speaker 1: The way that the elephant is being described by Jack
- 40:38Speaker 1: is that it's gotten old and its skin has gotten
- 40:42Speaker 1: thin and weak, which just really kind of like hammers
- 40:47Speaker 1: home for me, how elderly this elephant is, do you
- 40:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, And so it just made me
- 40:55Speaker 1: feel all the sadder because it made me think of
- 40:57Speaker 1: old people with papery skin.
- 41:00Speaker 2: And then you actually.
- 41:01Speaker 1: See the cannonballs hitting its legs and the way that
- 41:08Speaker 1: its skin sort of just comes away and breaks apart
- 41:11Speaker 1: and flutters like the way that paper does when it's
- 41:15Speaker 1: been burned and the wind catches the ash, it will
- 41:18Speaker 1: all look like it's still one piece that's burned but
- 41:22Speaker 1: stayed like, you know, for a moment, and then the
- 41:25Speaker 1: wind hits it and it just And that's what the
- 41:28Speaker 1: skin of this elephant is doing.
- 41:30Speaker 2: And it was distressing y'all. Like I honestly, if I'm.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Being real, I guess that the reason why this hasn't
- 41:42Speaker 1: been done before is simply that nobody has really had
- 41:46Speaker 1: an issue with Zoe as a country, so nobody has
- 41:51Speaker 1: been trying to take Zoe down. But this is the
- 41:57Speaker 1: smart way to do it, I think, you know. But
- 42:01Speaker 1: that does not mean that I am at all on board.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I absolutely am not. But it is like a smart
- 42:07Speaker 1: move in its way. I hate that. I hate having
- 42:12Speaker 1: a villain who is smart sucks. So this is Loofy
- 42:20Speaker 1: has this conversation about Shanks with Cat Viper and he's like, oh, yeah,
- 42:27Speaker 1: I knew him. I guess that's why that hat looked
- 42:32Speaker 1: so familiar to me. And he's like, so were you
- 42:36Speaker 1: guy's pals and he says, yeah, the cat and I
- 42:38Speaker 1: traveled with him and Roger years ago, and Lufy just
- 42:44Speaker 1: literally stops dead in his tracks and then has to
- 42:47Speaker 1: run and catch up and is like, wait, you were
- 42:49Speaker 1: part of his crew, and dog Storm interestingly says, I
- 42:56Speaker 1: suppose that would be one way of putting it. We
- 43:01Speaker 1: accompanied Lord Odin, serving as his retainers everywhere he went.
- 43:06Speaker 1: We even once sailed on whitebeard ship.
- 43:09Speaker 2: The moby Dick.
- 43:10Speaker 1: So when Odin was recruited by Roger, we naturally escorted
- 43:14Speaker 1: him as well. Oos Up gets very excitable here and
- 43:21Speaker 1: he gets out of a notebook and he starts taking notes.
- 43:25Speaker 1: You guys, I, for the life of me, do not
- 43:28Speaker 1: remember when when us Up turned into the records guy?
- 43:36Speaker 1: Is this? Like?
- 43:37Speaker 2: Has this been happening? And I just wasn't really noticing it.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I just found it. It stood out here in a
- 43:44Speaker 1: way that it hasn't other times. And I was sort
- 43:49Speaker 1: of like thinking that if I were to have predicted
- 43:53Speaker 1: who was going to have this job, I think I
- 43:56Speaker 1: would have assumed it would be Robin, because she's the
- 43:58Speaker 1: one who's all about history, and so I would think
- 44:02Speaker 1: that wanting to keep a record of things would be
- 44:05Speaker 1: a lot more important to her than it would be
- 44:07Speaker 1: to Oosop. But yeah, let's see, I'm having a little
- 44:13Speaker 1: trouble keeping up with all of this. Now, let's see here,
- 44:17Speaker 1: and he's looking through his little book. We didn't join
- 44:21Speaker 1: those guys when they made it to Laughtale, he says,
- 44:25Speaker 1: is cat Viper, And he's like, so, first Whitebeard ship
- 44:30Speaker 1: and you said it was Odin and the dog and
- 44:32Speaker 1: the cat. Then Odin was recruited by Roger and he
- 44:36Speaker 1: took you to with him. I miss anything, and cat
- 44:40Speaker 1: Viper says, I remember it quite clearly.
- 44:42Speaker 2: We had so much fun. Those were the days.
- 44:46Speaker 1: And we still don't know exactly what happened with cat
- 44:50Speaker 1: Viper and dog Storm, but they apparently were like still
- 44:53Speaker 1: getting along during this part of the their relationship. And
- 44:59Speaker 1: cat Viper is just saying, all of the things that
- 45:02Speaker 1: they discovered while they were on the road, and there's
- 45:04Speaker 1: a bunch of stuff that's like what our straw hat
- 45:07Speaker 1: people have also run into, you know, the Skypeia and
- 45:13Speaker 1: the Fishman Island.
- 45:16Speaker 2: YadA YadA. Yeah.
- 45:20Speaker 1: This is when they start, like they put their arms
- 45:22Speaker 1: around each other and start singing as they remember old times,
- 45:28Speaker 1: and Loofy asks Kinemon about them and whether they also
- 45:32Speaker 1: went and he says, no, we were back in Wano.
- 45:35Speaker 1: We try to stop Odin from leaving home, but he
- 45:39Speaker 1: wouldn't listen to us. As we mentioned in our conversation before,
- 45:44Speaker 1: Wana is forbidden from intermingling with other countries, and this
- 45:47Speaker 1: is strictly enforced, so strictly that even stepping foot outside
- 45:52Speaker 1: its perimeter is considered a felony. Lord Odin was somewhat
- 45:57Speaker 1: of a malcontent and was not shy about expressing his
- 46:00Speaker 1: doubts about the restrictions of segregating our home, and he
- 46:05Speaker 1: sought camaraderie with white Beard and Roger and their crews.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Because of this.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Honestly speaking, they were honorable men. Yet if we allowed
- 46:16Speaker 1: him to sail with them, there'd be outrage. So our
- 46:19Speaker 1: duty was clear. And Keeneman says this like it's really
- 46:27Speaker 1: shameful that they had to do it, but also, you know,
- 46:30Speaker 1: being defensive of if this was our job, almost like
- 46:33Speaker 1: he thinks Lufy is going to be upset with him,
- 46:35Speaker 1: and of course, like Lufy could not care less. He's
- 46:39Speaker 1: just like, oh, okay, so you weren't there whatever. He
- 46:41Speaker 1: doesn't care about these sorts of nuances here. He just
- 46:44Speaker 1: cares that they have met Shanks and know who he
- 46:46Speaker 1: is and is excited by that. So this is when
- 46:52Speaker 1: Frankie says, oh, if you wrote on Roger's ship, then
- 46:55Speaker 1: you met Tom, who was the shipwright that I apprenticed under.
- 47:00Speaker 1: And I keep forgetting about the connections between so many
- 47:03Speaker 1: people and gold Roger and then the straw Hats, not
- 47:08Speaker 1: all of them necessarily, but this whole thing with Tom,
- 47:11Speaker 1: like I had straight up forgotten. And both Dogstorm and
- 47:15Speaker 1: Catpiper are very impressed by this relationship. So then we
- 47:23Speaker 1: have this interesting moment with Namy where I feel like
- 47:26Speaker 1: I wasn't totally getting it. But Nammy asks them, are
- 47:30Speaker 1: you sure about this route? And she holds up her
- 47:34Speaker 1: log pose, the one that has like the three. She says,
- 47:38Speaker 1: see the needles. Usually to navigate to our next destination,
- 47:42Speaker 1: we use the location that these three are pointing toward,
- 47:46Speaker 1: shouldn't we continue to track them? And she says this,
- 47:52Speaker 1: and it says in the subtitles, all gasp I don't
- 47:59Speaker 1: get it. Why are they gasping? I don't even understand
- 48:04Speaker 1: really what the log poses are telling us, because one
- 48:07Speaker 1: is pointing in a different direction than the other two,
- 48:10Speaker 1: and the like just the moment of the question and
- 48:17Speaker 1: the way that this like the reaction that she gets
- 48:21Speaker 1: It feels like she said something very dramatic here and
- 48:26Speaker 1: I wasn't understanding it at all, and she says, like,
- 48:30Speaker 1: you know, we followed Traffy with his viaver card, which
- 48:32Speaker 1: is what led us to Zoe, and you know, we've
- 48:36Speaker 1: found the phonoglyph which points to Laughtail. But according to
- 48:42Speaker 1: Crocus at the Twin Capes, if you track the logs,
- 48:45Speaker 1: every single pathway will eventually converge into one trail. I
- 48:50Speaker 1: pretty much always assumed that's where Laughtail would be located.
- 48:55Speaker 1: And Crocus is somebody that uh Brooke had tried to
- 49:01Speaker 1: bring up earlier, and Nommy interrupts him to get to
- 49:04Speaker 1: her point first. And so when his name comes up,
- 49:08Speaker 1: cat Viper is very excited and it's just like, oh, man,
- 49:11Speaker 1: I love that guy. I haven't seen him in a
- 49:13Speaker 1: long time. How is he doing. Loofy chimes in about
- 49:17Speaker 1: Laboon and that it's been a couple of years, but
- 49:19Speaker 1: last time we saw him he was doing great, and
- 49:23Speaker 1: he was our ship's doctor. I remember that back in
- 49:26Speaker 1: the day he was always on the search for some
- 49:28Speaker 1: pirate crew and Brooke, I bet that was mine. They're
- 49:33Speaker 1: all dead now. And then nom Mey chimes in, enough
- 49:37Speaker 1: with the chit chat. I'm trying to talk about something serious.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Heren me, you are so savage girl. Oh my god. No.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Me is like, it's such a weird thing with this show,
- 49:52Speaker 1: how uninteresting so many women characters are. But he did
- 49:57Speaker 1: something so fun with Namy that I'm just like, where
- 50:00Speaker 1: is this again? Like, just do this again? Have somebody
- 50:05Speaker 1: who's who's complicated and layered, you know, somebody who simultaneously
- 50:10Speaker 1: wants to do the right thing and also wants to
- 50:12Speaker 1: rob you very much. Just find something like this again. Man,
- 50:17Speaker 1: give us all some complex characters. So Dogstorm says, well,
- 50:24Speaker 1: if you want to see where the log pose leads
- 50:26Speaker 1: you next, then you can just follow it. This is
- 50:30Speaker 1: certainly a location where they're all there is certainly a
- 50:34Speaker 1: location where they're all pointing, and everybody again has this reaction,
- 50:43Speaker 1: and like it's just like, oh wow, really, I don't
- 50:48Speaker 1: understand why anybody is behaving in response to these statements
- 50:51Speaker 1: the way that they are. It's so I really feel
- 50:55Speaker 1: like I'm missing something here. And then Dogstorm goes on, However,
- 50:59Speaker 1: I know for a fact that your journey lies beyond
- 51:03Speaker 1: that position. It's steering towards and Nami says, what do
- 51:09Speaker 1: you mean?
- 51:10Speaker 2: And there's this.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Very dramatic like camera swoop and zooms in on her
- 51:16Speaker 1: eye and she's sweating, and it's really like illustrated in
- 51:21Speaker 1: such a way as to be a moment of huge revelation.
- 51:26Speaker 1: And I was just watching this like I feel like
- 51:28Speaker 1: I am supposed to be having a reaction to all
- 51:30Speaker 1: of this that I am not having, and I don't understand. So,
- 51:35Speaker 1: Dongstrom says, usually when they reach the end of the trails,
- 51:39Speaker 1: they have a bit of a revelation. They arrive at
- 51:42Speaker 1: a truth about the ancient writing it inscribed on the
- 51:46Speaker 1: ponyglyphs and the civilization that created them, as well as
- 51:54Speaker 1: the existence of the unseen island Laughtail.
- 51:59Speaker 2: And let's see.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Dogstrom says, when Roger reached that point, he had to
- 52:05Speaker 1: start his adventure anew and it fades to present and
- 52:10Speaker 1: he says, the crocus you mentioned was also a part
- 52:14Speaker 1: of the pirate King's crew. He was a real know
- 52:17Speaker 1: it all type. He would not tell a lie unless
- 52:20Speaker 1: he wasn't fond of someone. The location you'll find at
- 52:24Speaker 1: the end of the path is the Laftail, the Fabled Isle.
- 52:27Speaker 1: It's the final destination of the grand line. In fact,
- 52:31Speaker 1: this is a flashback, it's the very existence. Let us.
- 52:35Speaker 1: He's the only person who made it there. And Nami says,
- 52:39Speaker 1: so it's not at the end of the route, but
- 52:42Speaker 1: beyond it. And Nami says, so from the start we've
- 52:47Speaker 1: been on a journey.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Beyond any path.
- 52:52Speaker 1: And again really slow pan around and then there's a
- 52:59Speaker 1: moment where ever everybody begins to congratulate her, and all
- 53:05Speaker 1: of this is just let's see what is it that
- 53:08Speaker 1: she says at the end here she looks up at dogs.
- 53:12Speaker 1: She's still wearing this purple dress, and I kind of
- 53:15Speaker 1: want her to just stay wearing this forever, to be honest. Okay,
- 53:19Speaker 1: this is it where she says, I get it. So
- 53:22Speaker 1: there really was no need for me to worry in
- 53:25Speaker 1: the first place. We weren't actually falling off course at all.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Until now, I only had a piece of a much
- 53:33Speaker 1: larger puzzle. I so Crocus didn't mislead us. The logs
- 53:39Speaker 1: are correct, and we're well on our way. They're still
- 53:42Speaker 1: leading us toward a converging point. But Laughtail lies past that. Okay,
- 53:50Speaker 1: Florian is in the chat. He says, I could explain
- 53:53Speaker 1: it in detail, but she was questioning what they were saying,
- 53:56Speaker 1: not trusting them. So shocked, but she was just wanting
- 54:02Speaker 1: to make sure that they are on the right track
- 54:04Speaker 1: since the new info conflicted with the old one and
- 54:07Speaker 1: wanted to clarify. Old info followed the pose, new info
- 54:11Speaker 1: follow the ponoglyphs. So everybody was behaving shocked because she
- 54:17Speaker 1: had the nerve to just be like, I'm trying to
- 54:20Speaker 1: get this straight basically, and then all of it be like,
- 54:25Speaker 1: oh yeah, new info followed the ponoglyphs. Well, it's weird
- 54:33Speaker 1: to me that, like nobody was totally sure where the
- 54:39Speaker 1: one piece was really, so the fact that you were
- 54:43Speaker 1: going to have to adjust, like, I don't know, this
- 54:49Speaker 1: just seems so expected to me. I feel like the
- 54:53Speaker 1: way that this is animated is made to make it
- 54:57Speaker 1: seem way more dramatic than it feels like it at all.
- 55:01Speaker 1: And then like him congratulating her for being so sharp,
- 55:06Speaker 1: she's just actually repeating back what they have literally said
- 55:10Speaker 1: to her.
- 55:12Speaker 2: I don't get like, I'm sorry, guys, I'm sorry.
- 55:15Speaker 1: There's just something about this whole scene that I feel
- 55:17Speaker 1: like I'm supposed to be taking away a point and
- 55:21Speaker 1: it all is not particularly exciting. I don't know, it's
- 55:26Speaker 1: just weird. I like seeing her get praised and for
- 55:30Speaker 1: everybody else to praise her and appreciate her, but I
- 55:32Speaker 1: definitely was personally like, I don't understand what even happened here.
- 55:39Speaker 1: So this episode ends with a cat Viper mentioning that
- 55:43Speaker 1: he wants to get in touch with somebody who was
- 55:46Speaker 1: from the white Beard Pirates the Phoenix, and I really
- 55:51Speaker 1: enjoy in the next episode when Lufy can't remember who
- 55:54Speaker 1: that is and everybody tries to describe the Phoenix to him,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and the only person who successfully gets it into his
- 56:01Speaker 1: head is I think Robin, who says he's the one
- 56:04Speaker 1: who looks like a pineapple, which that would absolutely work
- 56:07Speaker 1: on me. For the record, with the characters in the show,
- 56:10Speaker 1: everybody looks so wild that you would have to like
- 56:12Speaker 1: shorthand it in that way, because how else do you
- 56:15Speaker 1: keep track of people. I kind of like knowing that
- 56:17Speaker 1: Lufy has as hard a time tracking all of the
- 56:21Speaker 1: characters in this show as I do.
- 56:24Speaker 2: So yeah, this, uh, let's see. Oh right.
- 56:29Speaker 1: This is when kat Vibrus starts talking about the grudge
- 56:32Speaker 1: war since the fight the Commander and his folks up
- 56:36Speaker 1: and disappeared, and if Marco's still alive, I've got a
- 56:43Speaker 1: good idea where he might be. So let's see if
- 56:47Speaker 1: my hunch is right. And yeah, this is the part
- 56:51Speaker 1: where Lufy is like, wait, who are you talking about?
- 56:53Speaker 1: And we finally get to the bottom of this.
- 56:56Speaker 2: We'll meet there and prepare for war.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Agreed, Let's up a vaver card for keenumon as well,
- 57:02Speaker 1: and Lufy is like, all right, it's a plan.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Let's do this.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Sorrow says, see, you better not get lost. I posted
- 57:12Speaker 1: a video in the discord and I said, this dog
- 57:16Speaker 1: reminds me of Zorro, and it was this.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I think it was like a.
- 57:22Speaker 1: H oh my god, one of those little fluffy ones.
- 57:25Speaker 1: It starts with a pee I can't remember. But it's
- 57:27Speaker 1: looking at the window and it sees a bird and
- 57:29Speaker 1: it's yapping and screaming. And his owner is like, all right,
- 57:32Speaker 1: all right, I'll let you out. You can chase the bird.
- 57:34Speaker 1: And he opens the door and the dog goes to
- 57:36Speaker 1: the complete opposite end of the yard and is like
- 57:39Speaker 1: barking up at the fence there as if that's where
- 57:42Speaker 1: the bird was. It was so Zorro coded you guys,
- 57:46Speaker 1: I was cracking up. Oh my god. So anyway, this
- 57:52Speaker 1: is when all of the minks show up and they're
- 57:54Speaker 1: very excited because they are going to throw a party.
- 57:57Speaker 1: And it's so fun because when people are like why
- 58:00Speaker 1: would you throw a party right now, they're like, because
- 58:03Speaker 1: of this and this and this and this, and there's
- 58:05Speaker 1: all kinds of reasons to be throwing a party actually.
- 58:08Speaker 2: And it's sort of sweet. I did like this moment, and.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Loofy is like wanting to jump in of course and eat,
- 58:18Speaker 1: but Nami has to be like, dude, you just had
- 58:22Speaker 1: a feast like the day before yesterday, and your friend
- 58:26Speaker 1: is in trouble.
- 58:27Speaker 2: So are we gonna head out or what?
- 58:29Speaker 1: And he's like, wait, I didn't intend for you to
- 58:32Speaker 1: come with me, and she's like, of course I'm coming.
- 58:36Speaker 1: How are you gonna sing out without a navigator? And
- 58:39Speaker 1: then uh, oh my god, I'm so sorry. She says, yeah,
- 58:46Speaker 1: tell me, can't you loufy? And then Chopper loufy me too.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Peckham's is severely injured. He needs a doctor, and Peckham's like,
- 58:54Speaker 1: he does his whole thing about what Peckhams is and
- 58:57Speaker 1: isn't allowed to do it's very strict regimen.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Brook wants to.
- 59:02Speaker 1: Come so that he can sing to them and soothe
- 59:05Speaker 1: their souls and you know, help them out if they're
- 59:08Speaker 1: ever starting to get down, and Nomy says, I think
- 59:13Speaker 1: we'll be fine without you.
- 59:15Speaker 2: But Brooke says, both.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Of us allowed Sony to be escorted away, so how
- 59:21Speaker 1: am I supposed to cope?
- 59:22Speaker 2: This is not fair?
- 59:24Speaker 1: And Lufy asks Kinemon if this is okay, But Kinimon.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Is like, bro you are you're their boss.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Why would I tell you that you can't take them
- 59:36Speaker 1: with you? Of course you can. And also I wish
- 59:39Speaker 1: I could fucking go, but you know, like we got
- 59:42Speaker 1: to do things in the way that we have to.
- 59:45Speaker 1: It just sucks because I know that I owe Sonji
- 59:49Speaker 1: as well, and so not going to his rescue makes
- 59:52Speaker 1: me feel kind of shitty. But Frankie chimes in and says, look,
- 59:57Speaker 1: if we add any more people to this re mission,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: it's going to get too sloppy. So that's the limit
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I think of everybody.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: You should take with you.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Bust the wedding, get him out of there and come home,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: and we will be all set.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: It'll be great, and just.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: As we are, like all right, it's about to go on.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: There is a huge ripple through the water. We hear
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: something like trembling cat vipers. Fur stands up, and they
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: begin to realize that they are underattack, and it is
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: this poor elephant who is being targeted, and I hated
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: it so much. The elephant's name is Zunesha, which has
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: not been mentioned up to now, I don't think, but yeah,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: and then we have Lufy and Momo both hearing words
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: and not knowing where they're coming from or who is
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: talking or anything, so we will have to see what
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: this is about. I'm assuming it's the elephant, but I
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: don't know why they're the only ones who can hear it,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: So that's what I'm curious about.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: So all right, I'm excited.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Like I said, I think the exposition isn't done like
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: super well, and I think that can be.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: But I also.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Like that we have things set in place for us
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: to move into the next part of the story, depending
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: of course, on how things work out here, so we'll see.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: And yeah, I just really really want to save Sonjy.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: I really want to get that on the road, So
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: let's save Zanesha and hurry it up, all right. Telling
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: the show. To hurry is just it's a failing proposition.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: I shouldn't bother, all right, guys, Well, thank you all
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: for joining me, Thank you Florian for commissioning this and
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: being in the chat. I really appreciate you. And until
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: next time to Lou motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled network.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Pat
