- 0:04You're listening to the Bring the Thunder Podcast, a podcast
- 0:07by fans, for fans. Yes, You are welcome, ladies and
- 0:12gentlemen, to the Bring the Thunder Podcast.
- 0:15We have another episode back for you guys today.
- 0:19We have just a few pretty good topics here that we're going to
- 0:21cover, not just talking about only some deep Thunder stuff,
- 0:24but talking about some news around the entire league, trying
- 0:27to talk about what people can do to stop OKC, and talking about
- 0:31how dominant this season has been for us so far.
- 0:34So without further ado, Joe, why don't you kick us off with our
- 0:37first little topic here? First topic of episode 29 is OK
- 0:43C, the best team ever regular season wise?
- 0:47Let's dive into it a little bit. Obviously, the 1516 Warriors
- 0:52broke the NBA regular season wins record with 73 wins
- 0:57previously held by the 9596 Bulls.
- 1:00Obviously we're very early into the season, but there's a lot of
- 1:03optimism surrounding OKC right now breaking in order to break
- 1:06that record. OK, C has it started off 23 and
- 1:10one. Obviously the Warriors started
- 1:12off 24 and O 24 and one. They lost to Milwaukee and the
- 1:17Bulls started off like 20 and two.
- 1:19But with that being said, I kind of want to like have a
- 1:21discussion with you guys about it because, yeah, we all know
- 1:24it's a long season. So many things could go South,
- 1:28so many things could get better. One thing I really wanted to
- 1:31focus on was OK, C has the best net rating out of all 2, all
- 1:35three of these teams we're talking about.
- 1:37Another thing I wanted to talk about was the obviously the
- 1:40points per game are higher because it's, you know, we're in
- 1:42a different type of NBA. Even though the 1516 Warriors
- 1:45kind of kick started this NBA, this generation that we're in
- 1:49now, but they have also the biggest point differential at
- 1:5315.3. The Warriors had a point
- 1:56differential of 11.6. The Bulls had a point
- 1:59differential of 12.3. I do think the Bulls it was a
- 2:02little bit more impressive because obviously their points
- 2:04per game was lower than the Warriors and OKC.
- 2:07They were at 1:05. The team that held the record
- 2:10for that long is at 105 points per game.
- 2:12That's just crazy to see how far the NBA has come, but they held
- 2:16their opponents to 9392.9 points per game.
- 2:21But with that being said, I'm going to kick it to you guys
- 2:23because I want to know what your thoughts on one, can we do it 2,
- 2:27will we do it? And I kind of just want to say
- 2:30like really quick, I think we're going to do it because our
- 2:34starting five that played in the finals last year hasn't even
- 2:36played a single minute together so far this year.
- 2:40But I'll kick it to Gabe first. Yeah, I'm glad you made that
- 2:43point. That was kind of where I was
- 2:44going to immediately go towards is the big difference between
- 2:47this team and those other two teams.
- 2:49Let's talk about the Warriors first.
- 2:50The Warriors created what was considered arguably one of the
- 2:52most toxic super teams of all time.
- 2:55People were not a fan of the way this team was built.
- 2:57They didn't like how it was set up.
- 2:59Obviously we can respect parts of it, having the the team
- 3:02chemistry, the IQ, Draymond and Curry alone, those two already
- 3:05and Clay as well. That three right there was, you
- 3:07know, that was enough right there.
- 3:09But it it's it's the way the team was built that people
- 3:12didn't like. But let's look back as one of
- 3:13the bowls, another big three, another big team as well.
- 3:16But what's the difference between that and our team?
- 3:17It's the depth. Our team is ridiculously deep.
- 3:20We have so many different variations of a lineup that can
- 3:22be played, so many different types of players, different
- 3:25different schemes we can run. And all of that is insane
- 3:28because I mean, as we just saw against the Jazz, I feel like
- 3:31we've always said, if you put four players on the court with
- 3:33Shea, they will win a game. Well, what happens when Shea is
- 3:36the player that's not on the court?
- 3:37Well, we still win by 25 points because we have so many players
- 3:40who can come in and make a difference.
- 3:42I don't know if you can say that about those other two super
- 3:44teams. If, if, if Jordan's out or if
- 3:46Curry is out, do those teams still win as easily?
- 3:49Warriors probably, you know, I mean, they had such a good team,
- 3:52but like it it, it's the fact that we have so many guys who
- 3:55can all come in and make such a big difference.
- 3:57And I think makes this team unique and makes it different
- 3:59from those other teams. We have so, so much deep talent.
- 4:02But do I think we can do it? Yes, I absolutely think we can
- 4:07do it. The only thing that's going to
- 4:08keep us from doing is ourselves at this point.
- 4:10Do I think we will do it? I'm going to say yes right now.
- 4:13We talked about this before the season even started.
- 4:15And I do remember predicting that we would win in the mid 60s
- 4:19for games. I was trying to be incredibly
- 4:22optimistic but incredibly careful with that prediction.
- 4:25Well, we're now 23 and 1. So at this point it's like I, I
- 4:29kind of have to momentarily throw that, that cautious, that
- 4:33cautious, like, I don't know, I got to kind of throw that out of
- 4:36the window for a little bit because we are 23 and one, the
- 4:39one game we lost, we, we just straight up shouldn't have lost,
- 4:42but we did. We, we, we beat ourselves, lost
- 4:44by two, but we're to that point where I have to be like, why
- 4:49couldn't we do it and why won't we?
- 4:52So ignoring any potential injuries and, and that really
- 4:56that's it. Injury is the only thing that
- 4:58will keep us from doing it. Yeah, we will beat ourselves,
- 5:01but I don't think we'll beat ourselves enough games to not
- 5:03beat the record because right now we've made it through 2324
- 5:07games this season. We only beat ourselves badly
- 5:10enough to lose 1 game. So I mean, if you keep that
- 5:12going at that same rate, we will easily clear that record.
- 5:16So the only thing that's going to stop us is injuries.
- 5:18God forbid that happens, that that would be the the downfall
- 5:22to the season would be injuries. But the other side of that is
- 5:24like, would it be the downfall to the season?
- 5:27I mean, like we're that good. That only player that would
- 5:30really, really, really, really tank us is Shay.
- 5:32If Shay got hurt, yeah, we'd be screwed.
- 5:34But like we've we've we went. I don't we were what, 19 and one
- 5:39before J Dub came back, 18 and one before J dub came back.
- 5:42We haven't played a single minute, which we'll talk later,
- 5:44but we haven't played a single minute with our our official 5
- 5:47on the field on the court at the same time, like Hardenstein
- 5:50hasn't played in in a in a week and 1/2 chat.
- 5:53We know he can randomly miss game.
- 5:54I mean, I'll let savor get in on this, but my point is, can we do
- 5:59it? Absolutely at this moment, I'm
- 6:01inclined to say we definitely will do it, but hopefully no
- 6:05injuries happen. And until then, I mean it.
- 6:07Once the starting five comes together, I think it's going to
- 6:10be a lot scarier than it is now, which is crazy to say.
- 6:14Answer for me is yes, this OK Z squad clearly belongs in this
- 6:20conversation as the greatest team ever.
- 6:23I think between their league net rating, their elite two way
- 6:27players, young core being locked up, probably having one of the
- 6:32top five coaches in the league, number one GM in the league, and
- 6:36then all the on the court hustle metrics from each and every
- 6:39single player, probably one through 10 and even past that.
- 6:43Like that's unforeseen for most other teams you've already
- 6:48mentioned, like the main point of, you know, us missing J Dub,
- 6:52us missing Hartenstein, even us missing Shay in the recent game.
- 6:56It doesn't feel like it matters who we're missing.
- 6:59And the scene is just gelled to the point where it feels like
- 7:04they're unstoppable, unbeatable. Even with the like warriors
- 7:09teams. I'm sure there was, you know, a
- 7:12feeling of like, oh, we can't really beat this team because of
- 7:15the level of Steph and Klay and Draymond and all those guys.
- 7:19But we knew those guys were, you know, historic level talents at
- 7:24that point already with these guys.
- 7:26We don't even know what half of these guys trajectory even is.
- 7:29And I feel like that's what, you know, for this season.
- 7:33We can still say like, OK, we could get there.
- 7:36But by the end of the season, I think it'll be a resounding yes
- 7:40with the amount of games they'll end up winning, probably
- 7:42shattering the Winds record. And all of this feels a little
- 7:46accidental. I don't know how it feels to you
- 7:48guys, but it feels a little like they're kind of just rolling
- 7:52into these wins and coming in. And I I saw the joke of just us
- 7:56starting like a fourth quarter podcast because we're not even
- 7:59playing half the, you know, fourth quarters in most games.
- 8:03And that just shows how dominant we are there.
- 8:05There's just so much more that can be revealed when we push to
- 8:10the full limit. And I think even in the last
- 8:12finals and even in the last playoffs, we saw like, I feel
- 8:15like there was another level we could take.
- 8:17And then going into this season, we all felt like there's another
- 8:19level. And it feels like we're always
- 8:21kind of holding back to where I don't think the other fans or
- 8:25organizations are realizing exactly how good we are because
- 8:28Shay is not playing his full minutes that he could be.
- 8:31And, and I just, it's just mind blowing to me, like the stuff
- 8:35we're shattering in terms of records and analytics and stuff.
- 8:38And we don't have to deep dive that right now.
- 8:41But just from that perspective, just looking at that, it's it's
- 8:46crazy to me. What do you think, Joe?
- 8:48Yeah, I agree. And we're talking about regular
- 8:50season win record here. So I'm, you know, we have the
- 8:54potential to be the greatest team of all time, regular season
- 8:58and post season together. But right now I just want to
- 9:00focus on the wins record. And I mean, I love what both of
- 9:03you guys said, especially Gabe. The only time OKC loses so far
- 9:09in the last two regular seasons is if they beat themselves,
- 9:13which is 90% of the time when they lose or if a team just goes
- 9:16absolutely berserk one night or OKC just doesn't have it right.
- 9:19Like there was a game last year against the Lakers, OKC just
- 9:23didn't have it. The Lakers shot the ball like I
- 9:25think it was their best 3 point percentage of the whole season
- 9:27in one game that that one really sticks out.
- 9:31But the similarities to the this war, this Thunder team, the
- 9:36Warriors team and the Bulls team is they they all had head
- 9:41honcho. We have SGA, the Warriors had
- 9:45Steph Curry who was unanimous MVP like unbelievable seasons
- 9:49anyone back-to-back and obviously Michael Jordan for the
- 9:52Bulls. But they also had their
- 9:53sidekicks J Dub, Scottie Pippen, Klay Thompson, and then they
- 9:59had. Kevin Durant, I'm not letting
- 10:01you slide by that. No, no, no, no, no.
- 10:04Klay Thompson was not the sidekick it was.
- 10:06Yeah, like KD even after the year after he came the he came
- 10:10the year after Golden State won the 73.
- 10:13But I'm talking about like specifically in those seasons,
- 10:18even like if you look at our team now, we have like a
- 10:20Hartenstein, Golden State had a Draymond, the Bulls, you know,
- 10:24Dennis Rodman and it goes. And even like you go like Tony
- 10:27KU coach. And you see, like the Warriors
- 10:30had an outstanding bench. They had guys like Maurice
- 10:32Spates and Leandro Barbosa and Shawn Livingston, who were all
- 10:36excellent role players, knew their role and honestly won them
- 10:40titles. Like when they came in in the
- 10:42finals, they looked outstanding. OKC has that too.
- 10:44Alex Crusoe, Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, Isaiah Joe,
- 10:48they add AJ Mitchell. Like it's very similar.
- 10:51All three of these teams are very similar.
- 10:53They're just in different eras of, you know, or generations of
- 10:57the what is the NBA? But for me, I'm I'm locking it
- 11:01in. They're going to break it.
- 11:03They want to break it as long as they stay healthy, right?
- 11:05That's the big if. Knock on wood, but if they are,
- 11:10there's nobody better in the NBA than SGA right now.
- 11:14You could cry for Jokic, don't talk to me about Luka and
- 11:17Giannis is playing for the Bucs or whatever.
- 11:21And and there's just not a better team or a deeper team or
- 11:24a team that clicks all together as a as a whole unit.
- 11:27So why, why shouldn't they win it?
- 11:30Why? Why shouldn't they break the
- 11:31record? Yeah.
- 11:32One of the things that particularly stands out to me as
- 11:34well about our team is while these other guys had run these
- 11:37dynasties and had these great years and great teams, none of
- 11:40them had the the future foundation that we have.
- 11:42That that's what's insane is the amount of draft picks, the
- 11:45amount of like Saturday was talking about.
- 11:46We have all these young guys who we still don't even know what
- 11:48their ceiling could possibly be. And the fact that each year
- 11:51we're just getting getting more mature, getting more experience
- 11:54and whatnot. Like that's crazy.
- 11:55Like with the Warriors, they were not young like they, they
- 11:58were in the prime of their careers.
- 12:00They were in the middle, but they were not young like this.
- 12:03I mean, I guess like you can argue that Shay isn't
- 12:05necessarily young, but he he's sure as hell he's an old he's in
- 12:08the he's in about the early stages of the peak years and
- 12:11that's insane to think about. J Dubs young Shay is young.
- 12:14We have 4000 draft picks that are just waiting to to take over
- 12:18at some point. And and as of right now,
- 12:20obviously this can change, but we keep talking about it.
- 12:23Clippers pick is third right now.
- 12:24We are currently projected a top three pick at this very moment.
- 12:28They're weird. 23 and one. Our current conversation topic
- 12:31is, is this one of the greatest teams of all time and we're in
- 12:34arguments to get the top three pick right now.
- 12:36Yeah, none of those other dynasties had that.
- 12:38That's kind of scaring me because the Warriors ended up
- 12:42blowing the Finals lead when they broke the the regular
- 12:44season wins record. Obviously the Bulls won, but
- 12:48really good points by both of you there as well.
- 12:50So after you started and Gabe, you just sent it home.
- 12:52Like Bulls were in their prime, Warriors seemed they were all in
- 12:57their prime. We have one guy like maybe
- 13:01Hartenstein too, I guess, but like 1 real guy in his prime and
- 13:05that's SGA and he's just entered it these past two seasons.
- 13:09And we don't know the trajectory of Jalen Williams.
- 13:12He could end up being Scottie Pippen, which Savier and I
- 13:15talked about a lot last season. We truly believe that.
- 13:18Or even better. Or even better and.
- 13:20I always say he plays like, why man?
- 13:23And then we add, you know, Chet Holmgren, who's looking better
- 13:26and better each season, each game, honestly this year.
- 13:29And then you get like AJ Mitchell, a guy who we thought
- 13:33was decent, but he's an absolute Hooper.
- 13:35Like he's outstanding off the bench.
- 13:38The potential's there. They just have to seal the deal.
- 13:40And I, I think to close this segment out that they're going
- 13:43to break the record. Yeah, I think that's fair.
- 13:47OK, well with that, let's move over to the next segment after
- 13:50that. We're talking about how this OKC
- 13:52team is so, so dominant, but let's take a look and have some
- 13:55conversations about some of these line UPS.
- 13:57Obviously one of the things that we talked about it was the
- 13:59official starting 5 has not played a single minute together
- 14:03this season just because of injuries and whatnot.
- 14:06That's insane to think about the official starting line and being
- 14:08Shay Dort, Dub, Chad Hart, none of them have played it like a
- 14:12complete 5 minute Ross or five man roster together.
- 14:16Not single minute is just insane to think about, but we've had a
- 14:19lot of really dominant rosters. Just just to drop this in real
- 14:22quick, if you guys go check out some of our premium memberships
- 14:25and whatnot in our episodes, we've been talking about those
- 14:27rosters. We've been breaking down some of
- 14:28that stuff. So like there are a lot of
- 14:31interesting rosters that OKC has run this year and and, and
- 14:34lineups and in different schemes and whatnot that have worked
- 14:37really well. Obviously, pretty much
- 14:39everything we've done this year has worked really well, but
- 14:42there have been some that have stood out for sure.
- 14:44So I figured let's just kind of get into that and talk about
- 14:46some players who we think that should be either getting more
- 14:49minutes, maybe some players that we think should be getting less
- 14:51minutes. Obviously the elephant in the
- 14:53room being that main starting five should be getting, you
- 14:56know, at some point here soon. Everyone should be healthy.
- 14:58We should see how that goes. But let's talk about some some
- 15:01players would like to sneak in. So if you guys don't mind, I
- 15:04kind of want to start this one off with a player that I would
- 15:06love to see getting more minutes.
- 15:07And we actually just did our premium episode about him and
- 15:11that's Alice Caruso. I know obviously he doesn't come
- 15:13into games unless we really need him.
- 15:15We need him in closing time, we need him in close games or
- 15:17whatnot. But I think he's the kind of
- 15:19player who he is injury prone, but I still don't see the harm
- 15:22in giving him minutes just to get his shot going.
- 15:24He's about a 38% career 3 point shooter.
- 15:28However, I will say it's been a little bit spiky with us.
- 15:30He's had some games where he's really streaky, other games
- 15:33where he's missing. I feel like he's the kind of guy
- 15:35who, if we just give him some minutes, like I'm not saying he
- 15:38needs to be playing 20 minutes a game against the Jazz, but I, I,
- 15:41I just think he's the kind of guy who obviously we broke down
- 15:44all the advanced metrics and whatnot.
- 15:45He's the kind of guy who he touches the court and all of a
- 15:47sudden the, the game switches and, and things start to take
- 15:50over. So Caruso is one guy who every
- 15:52lineup he's a part of, it feels like our, our point differential
- 15:55is just ridiculous. So what what are you guys
- 15:57thoughts on some line UPS that we we should be seeing more
- 16:00often men? This honestly gets really tough
- 16:07with the minutes distribution. But I think Cason's been
- 16:11honestly just more and more deserving into his starting
- 16:16level minutes that he's getting. I think he's getting 20 minutes
- 16:18and something that I like about Mark's wave, I guess
- 16:23distributing the minutes this season.
- 16:25He knows who is 10 people are. And I don't think there's a
- 16:28doubt this season with kind of how the roster pinned out, with
- 16:34just just how it formulated. And I feel like J Wills getting
- 16:37like 18, Alex Crusoe is getting about 19 and then Joe's getting
- 16:41his 23. Aaron Wiggins is getting his 25,
- 16:44AJ is getting 27 roughly. Hartenstein is getting 27, Cason
- 16:50getting 28, Chet's getting 29 minutes, Dort's getting 29 and
- 16:54then J Dub's in there with 33. And the guy I haven't mentioned
- 16:57in terms of he's he hasn't played enough games to really
- 17:00have a good idea of how many minutes he'll get when he's
- 17:03fully healthy as J Dub. So having said that, I feel like
- 17:08it's case in Wallace, man. Like the guy, I'm going to say
- 17:11he can come into the starting lineup and you know, just I
- 17:16guess muck it up, especially with Hartenstein being injured.
- 17:19And if we do go to just having one center on the court, which I
- 17:24personally like at times I I know me and Joe have spoken
- 17:28about this, where should we play double bigs or should we not?
- 17:32And is it is game to game like, you know, bigger line UPS.
- 17:35We can play the double big. But me personally, I like the
- 17:38pace and space type of modern basketball.
- 17:41And Hartenstein does doesn't his place out doesn't provide for
- 17:45that. And Cason is another guy that's
- 17:47essentially Alex Caruso at a younger age that's able to guard
- 17:51up on bigger players and he's able to put on those minutes
- 17:56versus Crusoe just can't. So I like to keep him on the
- 17:59bench the way he's aging, especially the fact that he's
- 18:01picked up two injuries this season as well.
- 18:03So it's hard for me to advocate for him to start picking up more
- 18:07minutes. I'm just over here like, survive
- 18:09until the playoffs and play them, you know, when we need
- 18:11them in the fourth quarters. But outside of that, like for
- 18:14the 1st 3/4 and who I want getting the most minutes is
- 18:17Casein Wallace. It's very interesting, this
- 18:21team, it's so hard. It's so hard and I'm just
- 18:23thankful that I'm not Mark Bagnall that has to make these
- 18:26decisions, which I do want to give him a lot of credit for.
- 18:28He's been doing a wonderful job. We got on him a little bit last
- 18:31season, but this year, no complaints so far.
- 18:35I agree with both of those. I'm always going to be with
- 18:39Aaron Wiggins. I I think he's so good.
- 18:41I think he's such a prolific scorer.
- 18:42You just don't get to see it enough, especially on this OK C
- 18:46team. It's tough.
- 18:50It it is like Savage said, it's a game to game basis, especially
- 18:53in the play offs. It's a match up thing.
- 18:55Like Casey Wallace started in the finals and he didn't start
- 18:58all play offs long. Alex Caruso would come in and
- 19:01start second halves and and Hartenstein would sit and come
- 19:04off the bench. It's a tough thing.
- 19:06But for me, can we just give him a little more opportunity?
- 19:10Aaron Wiggins, he's shooting the ball lights out this season.
- 19:13He's getting to the rim. He looks super comfortable,
- 19:15super confident and and whatever he whatever he's doing on the
- 19:19floor, he's not a bad defender. I I just think he's I think he's
- 19:24excellent. Like when we have a guy like
- 19:26Kayson Wallace, I'm not talking about benching Kayson Wallace.
- 19:29Don't get me wrong. I'm not talking about benching
- 19:31Alex Caruso, But in these regular season games, right, and
- 19:34the important ones like tonight's game we're talking
- 19:36about, and by the way, this is pre recorded for you guys.
- 19:39Don't worry about tonight's game.
- 19:40We're talking about playing the Phoenix Suns without Devin
- 19:43Booker. Like let's get Aaron Wiggins in
- 19:45there and see what he could he what he could do against a very
- 19:48good defense so far this season and see if we could just end the
- 19:51game early with him. Because if he hits 3 threes and
- 19:53a quarter, it's probably over because then everyone else is
- 19:56open. Shay's driving lanes are wide
- 19:57open and another three for Wiggins and then Chet gets a
- 20:00dunk. Another like the games could be
- 20:02quickly over. Now the other side of that
- 20:05conversation would be OK, but Caruso and and Wallace will get
- 20:09a steal leading to a dunk and then the deflection leading to a
- 20:11turnover leading to a dunk. And which is?
- 20:13Absolutely true, which is a blessing.
- 20:15I mean, we get all these different ways to score with
- 20:17that even like absolutely. Like I showing one-on-one, which
- 20:19is obviously Shay's role, but I don't know.
- 20:22I just I love Aaron Wiggins and I'd love to see more of them,
- 20:25but it's just it's just tough. It's tough, yeah.
- 20:27Yeah, can I let's I was gonna Oh, go ahead, go ahead, Gabe,
- 20:31just just a quick thing. I I've said this so many times
- 20:35and I and I feel like a broken record repeating with OK C, but
- 20:37there is just never been a stronger sense of the of the
- 20:40definition of just suffering from success like that.
- 20:44I say it all the time and that's what it is It it's you just
- 20:47named like 4 different possible lineups that all result in 23
- 20:51and 1 record right now. So yeah, you go on sat there
- 20:53though. I was going to say the only
- 20:55thing I can nitpick about Wiggins game this season is his
- 20:59lack of free throw production. I was just looking through his
- 21:01stats like everything else seems fine.
- 21:03His point Soto is a little below AJ, which is kind of shocking
- 21:06with his tenure with the team and AJ's rise with the team.
- 21:10But I'm just looking at, I don't know, the aggressiveness may
- 21:14just not be there because his free throws attempted is only at
- 21:16one versus a JS getting to the rack a lot more.
- 21:20And obviously Aaron Wiggins role around the team has become like
- 21:24becoming a three-point specialist alongside Isaiah Joe.
- 21:28But I feel like he's way more capable than that.
- 21:30Like he hits crazy moves when he's on the court like he can do
- 21:33behind the backs into dunks and you know all that type of stuff.
- 21:37So. Put back dunks this year, he's
- 21:38gonna put back dunks in. No, that's what I'm saying.
- 21:41But his free throw numbers are showing me or indicating to me
- 21:45he's not being aggressive enough for the offensive end.
- 21:48So that could be even some points that he's leading off the
- 21:51table, at least if I'm making an argument against him versus a
- 21:55guy like Cason Wallace, who is, you know, providing an all
- 21:59around game and then on top of it, the defense, I'm trying to
- 22:03look at his free throw numbers real quick.
- 22:05They're down as well. But I still prefer the defense
- 22:10that Cason gives over any production anywhere else.
- 22:15So like, here's my thing, Gabe and SAP here, SAP here really
- 22:18quick to answer you is like, yeah, I mean, his point total
- 22:22might be lower than what AJ is doing, but AJ is getting like
- 22:29more touches, more minutes. Like Aaron Wiggins is at 20 a
- 22:33game 2019 maybe sometimes because at the end of the games,
- 22:37Aaron Wiggins is respected enough on this team to not be in
- 22:40with the the third string, you know, at when we're beating team
- 22:43by 40. But he's also not getting those
- 22:46starting minutes. So he's like kind of in a Gray
- 22:48area is what like it's weird, but point for Kayson is top five
- 22:53in defensive impact this year is when Benyama, obviously you got
- 22:58Hartenstein, Chet and Kayson right there.
- 23:01They're 2-3 and four on the on the in the top five.
- 23:03So I mean, that's how we won a championship last year.
- 23:06And obviously I don't see us going away with from it, but
- 23:09there is possibilities like if there was an injury or two,
- 23:13we've seen it. There's a lot.
- 23:15There's like 10 different line UPS that is OK C&T, OK, C team
- 23:18could make and I still think that they would win the
- 23:21championship with yeah, as long as Two's there.
- 23:24Yep, I agree. OK, well with that let's go
- 23:27ahead and get into the next topic Savier.
- 23:29I think you had some information on this one regarding a a
- 23:32certain commentator who who made a a statement about OK, CI know
- 23:38that they had talked about it's with Celtics, Celtics were
- 23:42mentioned. So what do we got there?
- 23:44Yeah, I'll go ahead and talk a little bit about it on the no
- 23:47fouls given podcast with Danny Green, Paul Pierce said the
- 23:52Boston Celtics are the only team in the NBA that stands in front
- 23:56of the OKC dynasty. And he's not just talking about
- 23:58just this year where they've had a pretty solid start to the
- 24:01start to the season, even with missing Tatum for the year, But
- 24:05he's saying generally for the next 5 years that they're going
- 24:07to be the team that's competing back and forth with us.
- 24:10And I want to give it to you guys early and then I'll, you
- 24:12know, take the reins. Back on the commentary.
- 24:15Joe, what are your thoughts bro? Yeah, dude, for me, I, I love
- 24:19it. I love it honestly, because
- 24:22after they won the championship against Dallas, myself included,
- 24:25a whole lot of people are saying, well, this is I don't
- 24:28think anyone's going to beat Boston.
- 24:30I was one of the teams that's I don't think anyone's beating
- 24:32Boston. I thought they were going to
- 24:33repeat. Obviously they picked up the
- 24:35injury in the Knicks series and it looks like they were probably
- 24:37going to lose the Knicks series anyway.
- 24:38But Boston looks really good and if Jason Tatum could get back to
- 24:43full health, it's OK C and it's Boston, which is super fun
- 24:46because I wanted it to be OK C and Boston in the finals last
- 24:49year. I thought that was going to be
- 24:50an amazing final. We ended up getting an amazing
- 24:52final anyway and it's probably better off that OK C got Indiana
- 24:55because we still we're super young and and still relatively,
- 25:00I don't want to say inexperienced, but didn't have
- 25:02as much experience as the Boston Celtics have had coming off
- 25:05their championship win. And they've been in deep runs
- 25:08with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum for years now.
- 25:11My one thing is, yes, those two alone are very good.
- 25:15They're going to have to build around them again because they
- 25:17got rid of obviously Porzingis, Drew Holiday, that that core, Al
- 25:21Horford from the championship team.
- 25:24But we've seen teams, as long as they keep their two stars, that
- 25:27we've seen teams be able to build around them consistently.
- 25:30And the Boston Celtics have a fantastic front office.
- 25:33They always have and always will.
- 25:35So yeah, I mean, I don't think that they're better than OK C at
- 25:38all. I saw SGA go into Boston last
- 25:40year and beat them without Jalen Williams in the regular season
- 25:44in Boston. But again, I think it would be
- 25:48fun as hell. I think it would be fun as hell
- 25:49for these two teams to kind of be like like the Lakers, Boston
- 25:53of the early 20 tens, the Spurs, Miami of like the mid twenty
- 25:5610s, you know, like stuff like that.
- 25:58The the Cavs Warriors, because the NBA kind of needs that
- 26:01again. Everybody was so happy for that
- 26:03to go away until it went away. And now they're like, oh, well,
- 26:06a new team's going to win a championship every year.
- 26:07Like every everybody who hasn't won the rings, just get there
- 26:10giving out free. Like no NBA needs that.
- 26:12And I think they're going to get it as long as Tatum gets back to
- 26:15full health, which he looks like he is.
- 26:16Yeah, for sure I don't. I want to start by saying I
- 26:19don't blame Pierce for saying this.
- 26:20I mean, he's going to represent for his team.
- 26:22He's going to, he's not going to.
- 26:24He's always been a little bit of a doubter of OKC.
- 26:27He's definitely had his phrases about us and things to say about
- 26:30us. And I, I believe he even issued
- 26:32some sort of apology after he won the finals.
- 26:34But he's definitely been someone who has always had a lot of
- 26:37commentary towards Boston on that side of it.
- 26:39Though I will say I think in an East that is definitely weaker
- 26:43right now and granted, the Knicks are definitely good.
- 26:46I think the Pistons, I don't know.
- 26:47I'm I'm waiting to see how the Pistons continue to go.
- 26:49It feels like their record's a little boosted right now.
- 26:52I don't. I don't know if they're as good
- 26:53as as. Good as they look.
- 26:55But in an East that definitely is struggling right now where
- 26:59Giannis, one of the best president in the NBA, his team
- 27:01is like an 11 seed. Yeah, a healthy Boston team.
- 27:05There's no reason they couldn't be the kings of the East.
- 27:07I mean, it feels like they absolutely could be on top of
- 27:09that. And and having that rivalry that
- 27:11you talk about, Joe, or for the next three years, Boston comes
- 27:14out on top every single year. And I think some people get sick
- 27:17of that being Boston particularly.
- 27:19I think a lot of people are ready for Boston's time in the
- 27:21sun to be done. But it's not.
- 27:22It's never going to. Be no Jalen Brown is a pretty.
- 27:25Player. But there's a reason that in a
- 27:27poll that came out today, there was a release poll that OKC was
- 27:31voted as the best front office in the NBA.
- 27:34Right behind us was Boston. Boston was the second voted
- 27:37because they built an incredible.
- 27:38I mean, everything about what they built is insane.
- 27:41Stevens is an insane man. I mean, the fact that he went
- 27:44from being coached to running the team is crazy.
- 27:47It's really it's, it's a tip of the hat to the intelligence.
- 27:50I mean, he, he's a he's a presti.
- 27:52He he's AGM, who it thinks so much deeper about the game than
- 27:56most of the other owners in the entire and GMs in the entire NBA
- 27:59do. And because of that, they're
- 28:01they're good. You know, he he set them up to
- 28:03be good. I just think everything that
- 28:05they do is is at least pointing them in the right direction to
- 28:08remain relevant. I mean, like you mentioned, Joe,
- 28:11they will always be relevant to the Boston Celtics, but the
- 28:13talent is absolutely there. Something I think is interesting
- 28:17that will help them. Picking up Anthony Simons is
- 28:20really something that's that's stood out to me.
- 28:22He is averaging like I believe 13 points this year rather than
- 28:2620, but he's also averaging about 10 minutes less.
- 28:29He's shooting really efficiently.
- 28:30I believe he's shooting about 41% from three, maybe 40.
- 28:33But he's been an efficient player and he's a young guy that
- 28:35can just help to continue to reinforce this team.
- 28:37I mean, there's a lot of things around this team that will
- 28:39continue to help. Obviously this year we're
- 28:41probably not going to see much from them given the whole Tatum
- 28:43situation, but Tatum is Tatum is just there was this motive that
- 28:48was getting pushed that he was not an elite player.
- 28:50For a little while, people were trying to act like he was
- 28:52overrated, which I I do not enjoy that motive at all.
- 28:56I think Jason Tatum is easily one of the better players in the
- 28:58NBA when he's fully healthy. If you're going to argue
- 29:01anyone's overrated, I think it's easier to argue Jalen Brown.
- 29:03But I still think Jalen Brown's an incredible player.
- 29:05There's no shade towards him at all.
- 29:08Yeah, no, he's he's doing what he can.
- 29:10But my point here is Boston's built an incredible roster.
- 29:14They're absolutely one of the teams that went healthy.
- 29:16Yeah. I am gonna be concerned about
- 29:17them. And it it, it almost reminds me
- 29:19of where the Warriors are at now.
- 29:21I'm concerned about them because of not necessarily because of
- 29:24how talented they are and more so because of what they've done
- 29:27and what their IQ is. They're an incredibly smart
- 29:29team. The kind of team that you you
- 29:31saw these teams were Jimmy Beller on the Heat.
- 29:33They were like pulling off these crazy wins, making big wins in
- 29:36the playoffs. And you're like, how are they
- 29:37doing this? That's kind of how I feel about
- 29:38this Boston team where their roster will be better than that
- 29:41heat roster. But at the same time, they could
- 29:43be a huge underdog and I would still likely have them winning
- 29:46series because they have the experience, they have the IQ,
- 29:49they have the players who play well together.
- 29:51And that's I mean, those are some of the best recipes to
- 29:54success right there. So I I don't dislike this at
- 29:57all. I I get what Pierce is saying.
- 29:59I do do I think we're better? Absolutely.
- 30:01Do I think we beat them in A7 game series?
- 30:03Absolutely, even if they're fully healthy, but it's worth,
- 30:07it's worth talking about. Absolutely.
- 30:08I, I definitely think Boston's a fun team.
- 30:11I want to talk about their roster 'cause I feel like we're,
- 30:15I, I feel like you guys are downplaying them a little bit.
- 30:17I'm looking at their depth chart with Peyton Pritchard starting
- 30:21Derek White right there, Jalen Brown having an MVP level
- 30:25season, or you know, MIP level leap here with 29 points per
- 30:29game. Kind of if we were to.
- 30:32Match up against. Him it would be like Tatum
- 30:34versus SGA, which is a pretty efficient, you know, getting to
- 30:38the line both of the players, both at least MVP caliber
- 30:43players. So it's at least worth having a
- 30:44discussion around. And then Dylan Brown, you could
- 30:47make an argument is right there with J dub, if not better this
- 30:50season, especially with the injury that he's had.
- 30:53And then Derek White plus Prayton Pritchard, that they
- 30:56have to be equal to us having a guy like chats.
- 31:01If you could just for argument's sake, I feel like there's just
- 31:04only one or two starting pieces away from making some moves.
- 31:08And I was looking at their draft capital that's upcoming.
- 31:12They're making some moves here. They punted out of this upcoming
- 31:16draft to be in the future 1. So they're looking to make moves
- 31:20in that 2026 for the summer. So it looks like they're
- 31:23definitely, you know, gearing up for something.
- 31:27I don't know what that is. Obviously waiting for Tatum to
- 31:29get healthy as well. But just from a lineup
- 31:32standpoint, like they have good pieces.
- 31:35Nemias Cada, this season has been a bright spot for them.
- 31:40Jordan Walsh, who I loved in the summer league, he's a baller.
- 31:44Sam Hauser can absolutely shoot it.
- 31:46So they have a good bench that they could, you know, some of
- 31:49the starting guys, they could push back to the bench with
- 31:51Tatum coming in. And then honestly, they're just
- 31:53one center away, similar to having like a guy like Al
- 31:57Horford where they could compete right there with us when Tatum
- 32:00is back. And even if they don't get Al
- 32:02Horford level talent because he's a really special guy where
- 32:05he can play defense and offense and stretch the floor and he's
- 32:08just really smart. So it's a hard to find those
- 32:10guys. But if they get anything even
- 32:12compatible to that level of talent out in the open market,
- 32:16or even if they end up, you know, drafting a guy like that,
- 32:19then certainly I feel like the argument's right there that
- 32:23outside of the in the East, I really am not scared of the East
- 32:26at all. And I think he has a point.
- 32:29So I'm going to agree with Paul Pierce, probably for the first
- 32:32time ever. Yeah.
- 32:33Well, I guess that makes all three.
- 32:34Of us agreeing with them. But with that being said, like
- 32:39Simon's is on a one year deal, so we'll see what they do with
- 32:42him, but they absolutely have a plan.
- 32:44Like they, like I said, they've always consistently been able to
- 32:47build around the two guys, Tatum and Brown, and they're going to
- 32:50continue to do that. They built the championship
- 32:52roster. I'm sure they'll build build
- 32:54another one. But it kind of sounded like
- 32:56before we end this topic that Savier was kind of saying like,
- 32:59oh, they need a compatible, compatible center to play with
- 33:03them like Al Horford type guy. Isaiah Hartenstein would be.
- 33:07That guy, but he's not going there.
- 33:08So other than that I don't know who it would be anyway.
- 33:11I hate. That you even said that because
- 33:13he's on a contract a year man, and he's the exact guy they're
- 33:16looking at and I'm like, why would that even?
- 33:19It's, I mean, it's something to talk about later this season at
- 33:22least. Oh my goodness.
- 33:24And I knew where you were going with it and I hate that you even
- 33:28mentioned it. We can move on.
- 33:29That killed the topic for me. All right, well with our.
- 33:34Last little topic. It kind of ties into exactly
- 33:36what we were just talking about, and that is there's been a lot
- 33:39of trade rumors. There's been a lot of talks
- 33:41about teams making moves and whatnot.
- 33:43There have also been talks about GMs being, and the word is
- 33:46actually this being afraid of OK C and being afraid of what's
- 33:50happening. So we're just going to talk
- 33:52about what are some moves that some teams need to make and what
- 33:55are some decisions that that some other teams need to make to
- 33:58to at least be on our level and try to contend with us and
- 34:01really make a difference. I mean, you have got like the
- 34:03Nuggets, who we kind of talked about this before.
- 34:06They're they're probably our biggest threat.
- 34:08They're not exactly needing to make any changes.
- 34:10They just need to let it play out, let it roll out.
- 34:12But then you got other teams. I mean, one of the biggest
- 34:15rumors is where is Giannis going if Giannis does end up leaving
- 34:17and goes to a team that actually could use him?
- 34:19I mean, does that team become a contender?
- 34:21It depends where he goes. So let's just start, let's
- 34:23discuss some of this. Yeah, But I, I.
- 34:26Want. To go first, this is a comment
- 34:29about Kyle Kuzma just about 30 minutes ago, 20 minutes ago
- 34:32actually on the report that Giannis met with his teammates.
- 34:36This is kind of a weird statement by him.
- 34:39I don't really remember a time he met us.
- 34:42He didn't sit us down like The Apprentice.
- 34:44It didn't go down like that. That was his exact statement on
- 34:48the alleged meeting with Giannis and his teammates.
- 34:52I really, that's a interesting thing to say for his exact
- 34:57teammate and pretty much saying like since the trade rumors, he
- 35:01hasn't even met with us. I feel like that has something
- 35:05that's a little bit different of a tone out of Giannis because he
- 35:08usually says like very quickly to his teammates and everyone
- 35:12that's willing to hear him. Like I want to be a buck, I want
- 35:14to be a buck. But it seems like I mean the
- 35:19tone's changing that kind of just.
- 35:20Tells me over there really quick like he probably told them we're
- 35:24going to run this out and he probably told him to pick it up
- 35:28in the nicest way yeah and and we'll see how it goes like if it
- 35:32if it goes S like if we all think it probably will he's out
- 35:36of there but I think it'll I think he'll finish the season I
- 35:39don't think trading. For a.
- 35:40Superstar midway through the season ever works I agree with.
- 35:43That statement, but I don't think he honest waits till the
- 35:46end of the season. I think if he's ready to go,
- 35:48it's happening within the next couple months, I think.
- 35:51I think we see I, I can see early January is was when he
- 35:55kind of forces his way out. At some point there was that
- 35:57rumor that he was going to give them the 1st 25 ish games of the
- 36:01season to see if they contend. They're not contending.
- 36:03I, I don't know if that's true exactly, but there's not been a
- 36:06lot of comments against that proving that it's not true.
- 36:09And if now Kuzma's coming out and saying that it's not been
- 36:11addressed, which leave it to Kyle Kuzma to be the one who
- 36:14comes out and leaks something, he probably, but that's that's
- 36:19definitely trouble in paradise. I mean, there's a lot of
- 36:21concerns there and there's a lot of places he could go.
- 36:23But with that, I wanted to mention the Rockets as a team
- 36:26because I know a lot of people talk about him going to the
- 36:28Rockets. I don't want to talk about that
- 36:29because I think that's ridiculous.
- 36:31I don't think. But I want to talk about the
- 36:34Rockets. Being a team that could contend,
- 36:36the one thing they need is desperately is a playmaker.
- 36:39They need a point guard like nothing else.
- 36:41I mean, they're they're rolling out players that should not be
- 36:44playing point guard right now trying to roll out that guard.
- 36:47I mean, at one point they were trying to have Thompson play the
- 36:49guard role who cannot shoot, frankly, but thinks.
- 36:52But he there's an interview where they asked him why he
- 36:55shoots so much if he can't shoot.
- 36:57And he was like, I don't know, I figured I might as well put up
- 36:59shots and try to get confident. And the problem is that's not a
- 37:02bad mentality to have. If you can shoot, he cannot
- 37:05shoot. I mean, there have been a lot of
- 37:07shots from him this year that have been rough.
- 37:08So what do you guys think about the Rockets?
- 37:11What's the move that they can make if if they're really
- 37:13seriously wanting to be taken a little more seriously?
- 37:16I find one very. Obvious.
- 37:18Very funny. I think Chris Paul, and I know
- 37:22that Katie and him were beefing last year, like on court, but
- 37:25that probably doesn't mean much. I mean, if they're grown men
- 37:28anyway, I think Chris Paul, they lost Van Fleet.
- 37:32They don't necessarily have a point guard.
- 37:34That was the problem with K DS sons.
- 37:36They never had a real point guard.
- 37:37They had book, but you got to give him credit for he like took
- 37:40over the role, but that's not his, that's not Devin Booker.
- 37:44I think Chris Paul. I don't think the Rockets need a
- 37:47lot more like Dorian Finney Smith is coming back.
- 37:50I think that's a pretty underrated acquisition for them.
- 37:52He's a solid player 3 ND type guy.
- 37:56Get a veteran point guard. And if it's not Chris Paul, dare
- 38:00I say Russell Westbrook A. Move the Rockets can make if I
- 38:07was them, since they've already botched the fact that they had a
- 38:10great young core, they might as well botch it some more and go
- 38:14after Giannis. At this point have a Giannis,
- 38:18the Nasus combo and send like Amin, Thompson, Reed, Shepherd
- 38:24and just say this isn't working out for us.
- 38:26We have KD right now. We're going to pair him up with,
- 38:30you know, Giannis and straightaway Steven Adams,
- 38:34Terry, Terry Eason, who they're not utilizing to the way they
- 38:38need to and maybe put two first rounders like a 2027 in there, a
- 38:442031 that they have available. What do you guys think about
- 38:47that trade where they just say, you know what, we're just going
- 38:51to go for it this year because we don't have much of Kevin
- 38:54Durant left. I think you got you.
- 38:58OK. The idea of Durant, Giannis and
- 39:00Sangoon on a team makes me want to throw up.
- 39:02Like, I hate that. I hate the the thought of that.
- 39:05I just feel like that would be incredibly problematic.
- 39:09I don't know if I think those three could play on a team
- 39:11successfully together. I do think anyone that gets
- 39:13Giannis, Giannis will succeed. I mean, Giannis isn't the
- 39:16problem, but I don't know if I can see the three of those guys
- 39:18working together without any sort of facilitator.
- 39:21Because right now another player they've been rolling out is Reed
- 39:23Shepard as their as their point guard, which that's also just
- 39:26not not good for them. So I mean Sangoon is basically
- 39:32facilitating to the best of his ability.
- 39:33They call him little Yokich. I mean he and ways he plays like
- 39:36him. But if those three get on that
- 39:38team together, I really think they have a serious, serious
- 39:41problem with. I mean, I think they'd be a
- 39:42bottom five team in in assists per game.
- 39:44I I think their points off of assists would go straight down
- 39:48the drain. And I mean for if I'm the Bucks,
- 39:51I'm Oh my goodness, yeah, I'm absolutely taking a package like
- 39:54that. I mean, getting someone like
- 39:55Amen, who's this young athletic talent with first round picks as
- 39:59well, getting some other players and they're like, yeah, I'm, I'm
- 40:01I'm comfortable taking that. But the Rockets, I think that
- 40:04would just be moving on from one problem and and opening up
- 40:08another a new one savvier. And I did an.
- 40:10Episode I think multiple multiple episodes over the
- 40:13offseason about the the Rockets worst.
- 40:16Trade. Ever.
- 40:17Yes, they're a good team. This year, if they kept Dylan
- 40:20Brooks and Jaylen Green, they'd be We covered that we were
- 40:24probably the. Only ones early I remember
- 40:26myself. You guys probably stopped at it
- 40:29when I said Dylan Brooks is I'd rather have him.
- 40:32And I was not joking. I'd rather have Brooks.
- 40:34And Jaylen Green right now than an aging Durant I would with
- 40:38the. Way they.
- 40:38Play. I mean, they'd be killing it.
- 40:40Obviously. They're very good.
- 40:41They're still contender this year, which I don't necessarily
- 40:45think that's right, but just so dumb.
- 40:49They already screwed it up once. Don't screw it up again.
- 40:51Just leave it. Try to win.
- 40:53I don't know, Joe, Joe. Joe and Gabe, before we move off
- 40:56the Rockets and go to a new team, I have one more, one more
- 41:00to entice you guys. I think this one's a lot better.
- 41:03Houston Rockets receive a disgruntled James Harden and the
- 41:07Clippers receive Fred Van Vleet, who's on a, you know, his deal
- 41:12with his injury and Dorian Finney Smith, Aaron Holiday, a
- 41:162027 first, 28 first, 29 first, 2031 first.
- 41:22I feel like for James Harden with the level of production
- 41:24he's having this year and you need a point guard.
- 41:26You know, it'll work with Kevin Durant because it has in the
- 41:28past. And you have a guy like Shingoon
- 41:31that's high level offensive player, at least offensively.
- 41:34the Rockets would be able to at least say they could contend in
- 41:37a way, right? Like maybe not from a defensive
- 41:40standpoint, but you still have a men Thompson out there helping
- 41:42out. So I feel like this is a decent
- 41:46look. That's the whole trade, yeah.
- 41:48If that. Trade happens.
- 41:49I think Houston becomes extremely dangerous.
- 41:52Like, I think Harden would work very, very well with that team.
- 41:55The only way that move like that does happen is if the Clippers
- 41:57do decide it's time to completely blow up, because I
- 41:59don't think that return is like the greatest thing in the world.
- 42:02I mean, it's definitely at least you get something.
- 42:05Yeah, at least you get something out of Harden.
- 42:07But like, that's if the Clippers decide that we're done, which
- 42:10they I'm not just saying that because we have their pick.
- 42:12They probably should be deciding that anyways.
- 42:14That team is an absolute mess. But if the Rockets make that
- 42:17trade, yeah, that's that's what they need is, is someone like
- 42:20Harden who's accepted this new role of I can facilitate.
- 42:24I can, I can I can swing the ball, I can run the offense and
- 42:27I can still get 20. You know, that's that's
- 42:29dangerous. Selling it this year.
- 42:30He's better. Than he even was last year.
- 42:32I thought last year we had a thought last year had a pretty
- 42:34good season. So he's been playing very good.
- 42:36That's absolutely the move, SAP. I'd like to applaud you on that
- 42:39one because that. That that's.
- 42:43That's the contending move right there and if they rockets think
- 42:45they're going to do it, do it do it don't fuck up anymore because
- 42:48it pissed me off. But I'm I hate the Rockets, but
- 42:52another team for me to kind of wrap this up here is.
- 42:56Denver doesn't need to do anything.
- 42:58Like Denver has everything, and for me.
- 43:02That's it. Like I don't.
- 43:04Think any of these teams could do anything this season to
- 43:08contend outside of Houston? That trade right there and you
- 43:11know, Denver's there anyway. But right now, this season,
- 43:15they're not competing this year. Down the line.
- 43:19Yeah, they can make moves and and re readjust their rosters
- 43:22and open space up like Boston's going to.
- 43:24We covered that already. But it's for me it's just
- 43:28Denver, Houston and OK C and I really just think of Denver and
- 43:31Houston. I can.
- 43:33I can in time shoot with one more team out east.
- 43:36This is this is a rare one. But what do you think about the
- 43:40Detroit Pistons, whose I said one move away from contention?
- 43:44Detroit receives Anthony Davis, Naji Marshall Dallas receives
- 43:49Tobias Harris, Karis LeVert, Jayden Ivey, a 2026 and a 28
- 43:55first rounder. I feel like that's worth
- 43:56considering Joe, for Anthony Davis to contend.
- 43:59I mean for. Detroit it's, it's worth
- 44:01considering. I don't like it at all.
- 44:04Anthony Davis, we saw him the other night.
- 44:06He scored. Dade's playing out of his.
- 44:07Mind, I have things I don't like that for Detroit.
- 44:10I I don't honestly, I don't like AD and Duran and the paint
- 44:14together. I, I think both of you guys, I
- 44:15don't think, I think Duran's numbers are going to, you're
- 44:17going to see his numbers drop pretty heavily, but AD does like
- 44:20playing. The four, he's only I'm not.
- 44:22I'm not doubting that he can. But I think Duran's usage is
- 44:24going to go down drastically in that situation.
- 44:27But my problem with that trade is trading away Ivy.
- 44:29I do not think Jaden Ivy is someone you should be trading
- 44:31away. I think Jaden Ivy has his insane
- 44:34potential. I, I absolutely love his play
- 44:36style. I, I really, I really think he's
- 44:38a great player. But my issue with the Pistons
- 44:41team, I just don't think that they're they're ready for the
- 44:44playoffs like I think they're have, they're going to be this
- 44:46great regular season team and I think they're going to hit a
- 44:48tough team in the playoffs and they're going to get, I think
- 44:50they're going to get rolled. I really do the difference from
- 44:53last year. Was they had it, they had a
- 44:55really good core. They had Malik Beasley who
- 44:58fucked up and screwed them over terribly and they had Dennis
- 45:01Schroeder off the bench was always good and they had to move
- 45:03on from him and they didn't really add anything.
- 45:05So with that trade, maybe it makes them a little bit better.
- 45:09Maybe it, you know, put some top tier in the East.
- 45:12I'd still have New York. I still would have New York.
- 45:16But like I'm talking as. In contending I'm talking.
- 45:21You could get there in the weak ass East, but you're going to
- 45:24get smacked by any of those teams and that's fact.
- 45:27And I'm not trying to rhyme. I promise I didn't do that on
- 45:29purpose. So kind of cringed me out a
- 45:31little bit, but I I don't think that moves.
- 45:34I don't think that moves the needle enough for them.
- 45:36It might for the East, but well, and I mean you.
- 45:39Know we all know the risk of trading for Anthony Davis.
- 45:41It's either going to pay off beautifully or it's going to
- 45:44look real bad because they could only be 1.
- 45:46Injury away from retirement right now and it's not like he's
- 45:49in the. Peak of his prime either.
- 45:50I mean, he's he's he's trying to hold on to the prime and when
- 45:53he's fully healthy playing, he is incredible.
- 45:56But even this year, while he's been healthy, he hasn't been
- 45:59like one of the top five players in the league, which we've seen
- 46:02him reach those heights before. So it's like, yes, that trade
- 46:05could be worth making if you just want to make a move to do
- 46:08something. But if something goes wrong,
- 46:11that that's that's you don't want to stunt the.
- 46:14Growth of the Detroit Pistons and they're on such a great
- 46:17trajectory and I don't think that would work, but it would be
- 46:20really funny because it would end up just being what, like
- 46:23Luka Doncic for Jaden Ivy and Tobias Harris at the end of the
- 46:26day for the show there. So all right, Savi, you got one
- 46:30more. Yes, I've got this.
- 46:32Is the last one for the trade rumors and I feel like I'm
- 46:35trying to give you guys realistic options like I'm not
- 46:37just trying to, you know, put something out there that isn't
- 46:40going to happen. But I think the warriors are
- 46:43finally moving on from Jonathan Kamingo, whether it's this trade
- 46:47that I'm proposing or anything else that's going to end up
- 46:50happening. But the Warriors receive Daniel
- 46:53Gafford, IO Desumu and a 29 second round pick from Chicago.
- 46:58Chicago receives Jonathan Kaminga to pair alongside their
- 47:03boy Josh giddy, Trace Jackson Davis, a 2030 second rounder and
- 47:07a couple a Dallas 2032 second rounder.
- 47:10Dallas receives Toby White, which they need a point guard
- 47:14and a 2027 Golden State first rounder.
- 47:17I feel like that's a win win, win as best as you can put it.
- 47:21Come on guys, tell me I took 1 W out of this video.
- 47:24Please. No, that's AW for sure.
- 47:26The idea of Gideon Kuminga on the same team is incredible.
- 47:30I think those two could absolutely work together.
- 47:33I love everything about that. The first one, it was who, what
- 47:36was the first part of that was a warrior.
- 47:39Daniel Gafford and I are the Sumu, which I think is
- 47:42beautiful. I like that.
- 47:43I think, I think Golden State getting a really good center is
- 47:46absolutely something that they can benefit off of.
- 47:48I mean, they've been running quit and post minutes this year,
- 47:51which he's not bad, but not Daniel Gafford.
- 47:53And then the last one was Dallas getting Kobe White, which gives
- 47:58him a point guard who can run, who can score.
- 48:00He's a point guard shooting guard who can score alongside
- 48:02Kyrie when Kyrie's back. I like that one.
- 48:04I do. I'll give you that.
- 48:05Stop here. Joe looks a little a little more
- 48:08a little more off, but I think that's a great 33 team trade.
- 48:11Savvier's going to hate me. But again, it's like I, I do
- 48:14enjoy that trade. It's really fun.
- 48:17I. Don't think any of I don't
- 48:18think. That makes any of them a
- 48:19contender. Like I not worried about the.
- 48:22Warriors I. Don't know if it makes a
- 48:23contender. But it definitely makes them all
- 48:25stronger. And and in the NBA, like anyone
- 48:28who's even a strong team, I think, especially in the East,
- 48:31can sneak away and contend. I mean, the Bulls would, that
- 48:33would make the Bulls, to me a top five team in the East.
- 48:36And they can, yeah. But you guys are higher on?
- 48:38Giddy than I am. I mean, he's having an.
- 48:40Insanely Goodyear right now. I know yeah, Josh giddy right
- 48:43now. And if you give him a lob
- 48:45threat, oh shit. We've we've not seen him with a
- 48:48seriously athletic freak of a lob threat.
- 48:51I mean J Dub's athletic, but not Jonathan Kuminga athletic.
- 48:54Jonathan Gaminga jumps out of the gym and he's having a good
- 48:57year too with his minutes. I think he compared those two
- 48:59together. They still have Vuch, who is an
- 49:01absolutely great senator. Vuch gets Vuch.
- 49:03Don't even give me a start on Vuch.
- 49:05Vuch is so underrated, bro. Vuch is an awesome center, but
- 49:08that Bulls team I really think could be pretty decent.
- 49:10But the problem with that trade savier is the fact that AKA
- 49:13makes a trade. The Bulls would rather just burn
- 49:15in hell and do nothing ever than make a trade.
- 49:17So that's the problem with that trade is all of it's realistic
- 49:21except for the Bulls. Actually, I was just thinking
- 49:23the Bulls fall into the trade, right?
- 49:25I would hope so. That's the only chance they get
- 49:27It is if they Yeah, I I think that's an amazing.
- 49:30Trade, I really do. I I just for?
- 49:34I'm not in on. Kaminga as much as Gabe is, I
- 49:36think Kaminga had the potential. I think the clip of him, you
- 49:40know, talking about picking up girls on the bench the other day
- 49:43kind of bothered me. He was talking to Gary Payton
- 49:45like he's completely checked out of basketball, it seems.
- 49:48And I think there's a reason why they don't play them all day.
- 49:51But I don't know, I just trust the Warriors organization.
- 49:55I think there's a reason they don't play them over there
- 49:58overrating them. I I'm absolutely.
- 49:59Overrating them. Or maybe and we don't.
- 50:01Know we haven't seen them outside of golden but the last
- 50:04thing I'll say before we wrap up our episode here is Dallas.
- 50:07I'm actually a huge fan of their young guards that they have
- 50:10right now and I don't think that they should change anything
- 50:12right now besides get AD off the team, get Kyrie off the team,
- 50:17start building up and and build around flag Nemhard and Williams
- 50:21because they look right. I'm being dead serious like they
- 50:26they look good and it's a little scary.
- 50:29Don't credit. Nico for that, though he doesn't
- 50:31get credit for it. He.
- 50:32Didn't he was Shan Cooper flag? He didn't.
- 50:33Yeah, he accidentally. Did this, Yeah.
- 50:35He fell right into it. Yeah, what about the Warriors
- 50:38with? Daniel Gafford though, like I
- 50:40think they I think they can contend.
- 50:42I think they could get the Curry Jimmy and Gafford is I think
- 50:45that could be and and driving the minor dream on.
- 50:47Here's here's the way I look. At it like they got Gafford
- 50:50right. Do they contend?
- 50:52Can they? Don't forget Pat Spencer either.
- 50:54Yeah, right, right. We'll see when.
- 50:55That ends Can they beat OKC if they get Gafford?
- 50:58Well, no one can be OKC, Joe. That's the funny part.
- 51:01Can they beat Denver if they get Gafford?
- 51:03They couldn't. Contend against them.
- 51:05I think they can give them a series, but I don't think they
- 51:07would beat them, I think. They could take them to to.
- 51:11I don't think they're beating Denver and I don't.
- 51:13Think they're they could, I think.
- 51:14They, I think they could beat Denver.
- 51:16Even if they can't beat them, it's still just.
- 51:18But you're just, you're pretty much just.
- 51:19Throwing. Sorry, Gabe, you're pretty much
- 51:21just throwing Daniel Gafford onto the team that from last
- 51:24year that beat the Houston Rockets in seven games without
- 51:29KD. So if they're not beating Denver
- 51:33and they're not beating OK, I preferred the Rockets without.
- 51:35Katie Anyways, yeah, I know. Me too.
- 51:36Well, here's all. I don't think that's called a.
- 51:39Contender if you're not competing with they they had two
- 51:41injuries, though they. Had Jimmy hurt Steph hurt?
- 51:44So I feel like healthy. They can they they can be there,
- 51:47man. That's what I was going to say
- 51:49too. Is like to me, a contender isn't
- 51:50necessarily are you the number one team?
- 51:52It's just can you can you put up a fight?
- 51:54And I think they could put up a fight with Golden with with the
- 51:57Nuggets. So to me that's contender
- 51:59worthy. Do I think they would win?
- 52:01No. So I guess we'll just leave it
- 52:04at that. But definitely I think it's it's
- 52:07a fun trade. It's a well set up trade for
- 52:08sure. So with that, thank you guys for
- 52:11listening to this episode. We would love it if you guys
