- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. Well, it's not from the chicken
- 0:31coop today, but it's also not from the porch because it's not
- 0:34raining. It's actually quite lovely and
- 0:37cool this morning. And Beaufort and I are out
- 0:41walking the trail that we have created for my days on our farm.
- 0:47And when I coach, I walk this trail all around the farm and he
- 0:52walks with me. And I thought, wow, it's so
- 0:54quiet and so lovely. It's early, early, and I wanted
- 0:58you to know the the strength behind doing this kind of stuff.
- 1:03So part of the thing that draws me to nature so much is just
- 1:10that there's this energy, there's this peace that just
- 1:15comes over you when you're present and you're with the
- 1:18trees and you hear the birds and you're watching the sunrise come
- 1:22up and it's. The girls are out foraging,
- 1:27already fed them and I decided to take a stroll and I thought,
- 1:32wow, this would be a great time to record something for them so
- 1:35they can understand the power of this and feeling it before the
- 1:40rest of the world wakes up, before the rest of it goes
- 1:43insane. And giving yourself that little
- 1:46gift of the peace and the quiet and the the joy that comes from
- 1:51it. It's just immense.
- 1:54During the day it it, it takes you to a a place, a a starting
- 2:00point that's much more powerful than if you were starting with
- 2:02something that was hurried or rushed.
- 2:05And doing this, you can hear my neighbors ducks.
- 2:08You can hear all kinds of things going on as as the world is
- 2:11waking up. And I I cherish this time
- 2:16because it allows me to be present with what's around me.
- 2:22And it allows me to hear and listen to all the different
- 2:24types of birds. That's a little Carolina Wren,
- 2:27if you can hear that in the background yelling, because
- 2:29clearly I'm too close to where she doesn't like it.
- 2:33So we have all kinds of creatures out here that give us
- 2:38opinions of things and let us know when they're good or not.
- 2:41And just I can't identify nearly all the sounds.
- 2:45My husband's really great at it. He can identify pretty much what
- 2:48everything is but for me. The the strength in having this
- 2:52path, the strength in walking this path every day, is to put
- 2:57me in the present moment. Looking at the ground, seeing
- 3:00the leaves, seeing you know what's around me, feeling the
- 3:04air, hearing sounds, it all brings you to the present
- 3:09moment. It all gives you the power of
- 3:11the present moment. And walking is something that is
- 3:15so human to do. It's like, oh, right now, as I'm
- 3:20just sitting here, there's a squirrel running up a tree with
- 3:22a huge nut in his mouth and you can see him.
- 3:25He's paused. Buford freaked him out.
- 3:27So it always helps me. To walk because it's very human
- 3:34to clear your head. Movement is a piece of the
- 3:37puzzle for well-being and the more you move.
- 3:40And I'm not just talking about going to the gym and having
- 3:42movement. I'm talking about actually
- 3:45having purposeful paced, peaceful movement.
- 3:50It it, it is tremendous. And when you're walking, that's
- 3:53what it is. It's just intentional.
- 3:57Peaceful and it fills your soul. And the more you can do this for
- 4:02yourself, the more you will notice that you become grounded.
- 4:05Not to mention, your cardiovascular system benefits
- 4:09wildly from it. Not to mention your psychology
- 4:14benefits wildly from it. Everything gets better the more
- 4:18you walk. So I'm a huge proponent of it.
- 4:21I like to push my clients to do it.
- 4:24I will tell everybody I walk a lot about every day is over
- 4:2920,000 steps. The question is how far over do
- 4:31I go. Most days I'm about 2426 depends
- 4:36on the weather and what not but that's my typical and last year
- 4:41I did 5,300,000 and change steps and for me that is.
- 4:48I I love to compete with myself by getting more steps, of
- 4:52course. However, the big piece of it is,
- 4:54I look at that and I say to myself, wow, that's that's the
- 4:57time I spent clearing my head. That's the time I spent doing
- 5:01what I needed to do for my wake up of my body, my mind, my soul.
- 5:08And even when I'm coaching and I'm walking, it makes a
- 5:11difference. It gives me a higher quality of
- 5:14thinking. So the benefits to this are
- 5:17tremendous. Find your trail, my friends, and
- 5:20walk it as much as you can. Because the more you do it, the
- 5:23better off you are. All right, I hope you have a
- 5:26blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:28Bye.
