- 0:47SPEAKER_10: So this will drop July 2nd.
- 0:49SPEAKER_10: Uh heading into 4th of July weekend, obviously.
- 0:53SPEAKER_10: Um that may that must mean that two days ago it was my anniversary.
- 0:57SPEAKER_10: That must be it.
- 0:58SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was, yeah, it was my 29th anniversary.
- 1:00SPEAKER_10: We did something kind of neat.
- 1:02SPEAKER_10: Uh and you were asking if it was my idea.
- 1:05SPEAKER_10: Yes, it was my idea, surprisingly.
- 1:08SPEAKER_10: Uh, just because, you know, we don't normally do anything like for our anniversary.
- 1:12SPEAKER_10: Sometimes Usually you go see James Taylor.
- 1:15SPEAKER_10: Well, that's true.
- 1:16SPEAKER_10: That's true.
- 1:17SPEAKER_10: But um, you know, some most most of the time we'll go out go out to eat.
- 1:21SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:22SPEAKER_10: You know, uh, and my uh this this year sh uh she she may be embarrassed by this, but my my daughter didn't want to well, she would have had to stay home all by herself and she's would have been bored, so we took my daughter on her anniversary dinner.
- 1:36SPEAKER_10: Um which was fine.
- 1:38SPEAKER_10: And then we w well, there was no place else to go because everything else was closed.
- 1:42SPEAKER_10: It was Sunday night.
- 1:44SPEAKER_10: Oh we went to governors.
- 1:46SPEAKER_10: Oh, governors.
- 1:47SPEAKER_10: Yeah, we went to governors.
- 1:48SPEAKER_10: Um but anyway, um we got home that night and you asked if this was my idea, and it was my idea to paint each other.
- 1:55SPEAKER_10: Not on each other, but on canvas.
- 1:58SPEAKER_08: Uh thank you.
- 2:02SPEAKER_10: Um Bye Myra.
- 2:05SPEAKER_10: So we did, and uh it it it turned out it was fun.
- 2:08SPEAKER_10: I had fun.
- 2:10SPEAKER_10: Um my wife was was kind of um all right, let's get this over with type of thing.
- 2:15SPEAKER_10: Um and hers actually turned out better than mine, I thought.
- 2:19SPEAKER_10: But uh it was yeah, it was it was neat and something different for for us to do, you know, because we've got this um we've got this uh tradition now that on our anniversary we go to uh Walmart or wherever happens to have cards like green cards or anything, and we um we find the card that we would have gotten each other and we just show it to each other.
- 2:46SPEAKER_08: So you don't actually buy it.
- 2:48SPEAKER_10: No, we save we save money.
- 2:50SPEAKER_10: Like this is this is for you, this is what I would have got would have got you.
- 2:53SPEAKER_10: Oh, that's really nice, that's really sweet.
- 2:54SPEAKER_10: Here's what I would have gotten you.
- 2:57SPEAKER_10: I like that one.
- 2:58SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 2:58SPEAKER_08: Wow.
- 2:59SPEAKER_08: Happy anniversary.
- 3:00SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_08: You guys are like just this side of Amish.
- 3:06SPEAKER_08: You know?
- 3:06SPEAKER_08: I I like it.
- 3:07SPEAKER_08: You're like you're like Mennonite like I like to call it frugal.
- 3:11SPEAKER_08: That's a good way.
- 3:12SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:13unknown: Yeah.
- 3:13SPEAKER_08: Is there an Amish version of Catholic?
- 3:16SPEAKER_08: That's a good question.
- 3:17SPEAKER_08: Not you guys.
- 3:21SPEAKER_10: Um but yeah, so we so we did that, and uh next year we're gonna have to do something big, though.
- 3:27SPEAKER_10: We're popish.
- 3:29SPEAKER_10: Popish.
- 3:30SPEAKER_10: There you go.
- 3:30SPEAKER_10: Next year we're gonna have to do something big because it's the 30th.
- 3:33SPEAKER_10: Yeah, you gotta do something.
- 3:34SPEAKER_10: We'll have to go somewhere.
- 3:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you'll have to go to like Tar Target or something.
- 3:38SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 3:38SPEAKER_08: Hey.
- 3:41SPEAKER_08: Just go to Denver Blazes and be like, ah, hey, you see that car?
- 3:45SPEAKER_08: I'd buy you that one.
- 3:47SPEAKER_08: Pretty cool, huh?
- 3:48SPEAKER_08: Woo! I had a million dollars.
- 3:50SPEAKER_08: This is what I get you.
- 3:51SPEAKER_08: You see that restaurant?
- 3:52SPEAKER_08: That's where I was gonna take you.
- 3:55SPEAKER_08: Yes, I'll have a Big Mac and uh Yeah, happy anniversary.
- 4:01SPEAKER_08: Happy anniversary.
- 4:03SPEAKER_08: Hey, look, a picture of Hawaii.
- 4:05SPEAKER_08: That's where we would have gone.
- 4:10SPEAKER_08: You save money.
- 4:12SPEAKER_08: It's really it's I mean, it's brilliant in its simplicity.
- 4:16SPEAKER_08: I love it.
- 4:17SPEAKER_08: You know, it's just like, hey.
- 4:19SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 4:19SPEAKER_08: Uh I guess you know, you just see, you know, the like some people just go overboard with it.
- 4:25SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah.
- 4:25SPEAKER_08: They're just like, huh.
- 4:26SPEAKER_08: So that it's actually really refreshing that you just like we go to we go to Walmart and show each other cards.
- 4:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 4:33SPEAKER_10: It's like, what is happening?
- 4:35SPEAKER_10: You know, we don't I mean, I guess I guess we do I I do tend to share it on Facebook when it's our anniversary.
- 4:44SPEAKER_10: But if if if we there was because we don't we don't do a lot for our anniversary.
- 4:50SPEAKER_10: So I think sharing it on Facebook and just telling everybody, hey, I really I still love her.
- 4:54SPEAKER_10: You know, we're still together, it's happy, you know, we're happy and we're still here.
- 4:58SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 4:59SPEAKER_10: See you next year.
- 5:00SPEAKER_10: You know.
- 5:01SPEAKER_10: Exactly.
- 5:02SPEAKER_10: You know, that's really m all we do is is you know, we take her out to a nice meal or whatever and we um um but we will have to or we go to a concert, like you said.
- 5:11SPEAKER_10: Oh sure.
- 5:12SPEAKER_10: Um so we'll have to we'll have to do something.
- 5:14SPEAKER_10: We'll up the ante next year.
- 5:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you gotta go you're gonna have to go big next year.
- 5:18SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 5:20SPEAKER_10: We'll have to start saving now.
- 5:21SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_08: So well if you if you save a penny a day by the end of the year, you'll have like three dollars and sixty-five cents.
- 5:31SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 5:33SPEAKER_08: That's a good start.
- 5:34SPEAKER_10: It is a good start.
- 5:35SPEAKER_10: Um you know, if I start if I save all the gigs that we're doing, like say let's let's say I save a hundred dollars from all the gigs that we're doing uh this year, I might be able to afford a hotel.
- 5:49SPEAKER_10: Maybe in Bangor or Portland.
- 5:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:52SPEAKER_10: Possibly.
- 5:52SPEAKER_10: Yeah, possibly.
- 5:53SPEAKER_10: It's off season.
- 5:54SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 5:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:55SPEAKER_08: You know, on a like Sunday.
- 5:57SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 5:57SPEAKER_10: You know.
- 5:58SPEAKER_10: That's what we should do is instead of uh going on our anniversary, we should go six months before.
- 6:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 6:04SPEAKER_10: In the middle of winter.
- 6:06SPEAKER_08: Yeah, go go in like March.
- 6:08SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_08: Nothing happens in March.
- 6:09SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 6:10SPEAKER_08: So you just be like, hey, we're on our anniversary.
- 6:12SPEAKER_08: Well, happy anniversary.
- 6:13SPEAKER_08: Well, it's actually not for three months.
- 6:14SPEAKER_08: We're just doing it early.
- 6:15SPEAKER_08: We just wanted to be able to afford the shell.
- 6:18SPEAKER_08: We just got a cheap rate, so now is our anniversary.
- 6:23SPEAKER_10: Our anniversary is when we say it is.
- 6:25SPEAKER_10: Speaking of genius, yeah, I mean that that makes sense.
- 6:27SPEAKER_10: I'll have to talk to her about that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_10: That's a good idea.
- 6:30SPEAKER_10: Um We had a gig.
- 6:33SPEAKER_10: Uh would you say it was I mean, technically our our season opener?
- 6:38SPEAKER_10: I know it was our first like big one.
- 6:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I know because we did Smyrna.
- 6:42SPEAKER_10: You did Smyrna.
- 6:43SPEAKER_10: I I wasn't at that one, which is was that this was that the first time I missed a gig?
- 6:47SPEAKER_10: No.
- 6:47SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 6:47SPEAKER_10: Is it?
- 6:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 6:49SPEAKER_10: Um I don't remember you ever missed one.
- 6:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I don't remember.
- 6:52SPEAKER_10: I was trying to remember if maybe I'd missed one.
- 6:53SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 6:54SPEAKER_10: Uh um, but yeah, so that was the first time I missed it.
- 6:57SPEAKER_10: But and and that one we call it kind of call it like a soft opening of the Yeah, it was just like a warm-up.
- 7:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 7:02SPEAKER_10: It's like So Mapleton dates kind of was the was the big first one.
- 7:06SPEAKER_10: And we had uh bad weather.
- 7:09SPEAKER_10: Um bad is well I mean it wasn't great.
- 7:13SPEAKER_10: It was bad all day.
- 7:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 7:15SPEAKER_10: Uh rain and rain and rain and rain, and then when it came time for our performance, it was it stopped.
- 7:21SPEAKER_08: It was just drizzle.
- 7:22SPEAKER_10: It just drizzled, and we got a little bit of rain around 8 30 or so, but but after that, I mean it it was enough to it was good enough to put on fireworks.
- 7:31SPEAKER_10: You know, and um we had two other bands, County Folk, and the new band, The Echo.
- 7:35SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 7:36SPEAKER_10: Which I th are they from Ashland?
- 7:38SPEAKER_10: I know they have members.
- 7:40SPEAKER_10: I think they're from up north.
- 7:41SPEAKER_10: But one one of the members is from Ashland, right?
- 7:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that the their bass player polls.
- 7:46SPEAKER_08: He's John's former students.
- 7:47SPEAKER_10: Uh they were really good.
- 7:48SPEAKER_10: They were really good, too.
- 7:49SPEAKER_10: Uh they played a lot of um I guess you could say 90s rock, but I mean they played like Aussie too.
- 7:55SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they played uh Leonard Skinner.
- 7:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, so but uh but good, tight band.
- 8:00SPEAKER_10: I was I was impressed with that.
- 8:02SPEAKER_08: I was really impressed with them too.
- 8:03SPEAKER_10: Um and then we played in this uh inflatable the drug shell.
- 8:08SPEAKER_10: Amphitheater.
- 8:09SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 8:10SPEAKER_10: Uh it was and it you're not lying.
- 8:13SPEAKER_10: I mean it is a drug shell.
- 8:14SPEAKER_10: It is.
- 8:15SPEAKER_10: It was it was an amphitheater that is an inflatable, uh, which really helped actually.
- 8:20SPEAKER_10: I think it was, yeah.
- 8:21SPEAKER_10: It kept us dry to the for the most part, and it actually kind of uh directs the sound.
- 8:26SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 8:28SPEAKER_08: I mean it's not a bad place.
- 8:29SPEAKER_08: No no no, it's not.
- 8:30SPEAKER_10: But it was obtained um by a local city's police depart police chief uh with drug money.
- 8:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 8:37SPEAKER_10: Uh seized drug money, which I think in its in and of itself is kind of illegal to use that, isn't it?
- 8:44SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 8:44SPEAKER_08: I I think that's a gray area.
- 8:46SPEAKER_08: I think I think you're allowed to use it after so much time.
- 8:48SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 8:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 8:50SPEAKER_08: Well I think I think that was the deal, but it's still funny because it was they don't use it very often.
- 8:54SPEAKER_10: No.
- 8:55SPEAKER_08: That's the first time I've seen it in a long time.
- 8:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so we uh we put it to use, so it was good.
- 8:59SPEAKER_10: It it was uh it served a purpose.
- 9:01SPEAKER_10: So I was happy about that.
- 9:03SPEAKER_10: And we played alright.
- 9:04SPEAKER_10: We played pretty well.
- 9:05SPEAKER_08: I thought so.
- 9:05SPEAKER_08: There were a couple hiccups.
- 9:06SPEAKER_08: There was a couple hiccups for sure.
- 9:08SPEAKER_08: Nothing major.
- 9:09SPEAKER_10: Um Yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_10: Uh so uh let's let's see, what else is going on?
- 9:15SPEAKER_10: Anything else?
- 9:16SPEAKER_10: We don't have another gig until July 17th.
- 9:18SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 9:19SPEAKER_10: The main potato blossom festival.
- 9:21SPEAKER_10: True story.
- 9:22SPEAKER_10: Um, let's move on.
- 9:27SPEAKER_10: Uh we have new music today because of the uh is it full moon?
- 9:30SPEAKER_08: It was yesterday.
- 9:30SPEAKER_10: It was yesterday.
- 9:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 9:32SPEAKER_10: I just have yeah, you do know who it is.
- 9:35SPEAKER_10: I just have uh just kind of uh I don't know, uh PTSD from full moons when I'm working at at the schools.
- 9:44SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 9:45SPEAKER_10: Because they're just like kids are off the wall.
- 9:49SPEAKER_10: Alright, so uh Peter Gabriel has released another new song from his OI album titled I Belong to the Sky.
- 9:57SPEAKER_10: Uh the song was originally considered for his most recent album, but wasn't fully finished until now, and his statement of the singer said that it was always one of my favorites.
- 10:06SPEAKER_10: Um starting point of the song was the Timpany Tom Tom Pattern, which I don't even need to know any of that.
- 10:13SPEAKER_10: Um but I want to know if where's the song?
- 10:18SPEAKER_10: Oh, here we go.
- 10:19SPEAKER_10: Right there.
- 10:20SPEAKER_10: Each song has a dark side and a bright side mix, with the second mixes arriving during each month's new moon, the same pattern Gabriel followed with his previous album.
- 10:28SPEAKER_10: So this is the bright side mix of I Belong to the Sky.
- 10:33SPEAKER_10: New music from Peter Gabriel.
- 10:35SPEAKER_10: So let's see what this sounds like.
- 10:39SPEAKER_10: Let's not see what it sounds like.
- 10:40SPEAKER_10: Let's wait.
- 12:14SPEAKER_13: All the blue and the white, all the stars in the night, and the sun shine, the sun faints the smile from the east to the west.
- 12:42SPEAKER_13: When now the streams leave them nest, leave the nest.
- 12:52SPEAKER_10: You know what I like about Peter Gabriel?
- 12:55SPEAKER_10: Uh it's never the easy way, or it's never the expected way.
- 13:02SPEAKER_10: No, no.
- 13:02SPEAKER_10: Sounds like Peter Gabriel, right?
- 13:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 13:05SPEAKER_10: But it's not like a uh verse chorus.
- 13:10SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 13:11SPEAKER_10: It's just, and it's just there's layers and layers and layers of different things, different sounds.
- 13:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 13:20SPEAKER_10: And I was thinking about it as soon as it started.
- 13:23SPEAKER_08: Well, I thought it sounded like that Who song?
- 13:25SPEAKER_08: Ninja's love.
- 13:26SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah.
- 13:27SPEAKER_10: Uh Eminence Front?
- 13:29SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 13:29SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 13:29SPEAKER_10: It's a little a little bit.
- 13:30SPEAKER_10: A little bit.
- 13:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 13:31SPEAKER_10: Yep, I get that.
- 13:32SPEAKER_10: Um pictures.
- 13:35SPEAKER_10: What I was thinking about when I when it first started was him in the studio and just coming up with sounds and putting the sounds together.
- 13:45SPEAKER_10: How cool would it be to have the time and the technology and the creative uh spark to just sit there and make music.
- 14:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 14:04SPEAKER_10: Like just you know, you didn't have you don't have to worry about going to a job.
- 14:09SPEAKER_08: There's no deadline.
- 14:10SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 14:11SPEAKER_10: You don't have to worry about going to a job and be paying because obviously he's a millionaire, but I mean you don't have to worry about you probably have you probably have someone taking care of things for you.
- 14:24SPEAKER_10: You know?
- 14:24SPEAKER_10: Uh a lot of things.
- 14:25SPEAKER_10: I don't you know.
- 14:26SPEAKER_08: Oh undo.
- 14:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 14:28SPEAKER_10: And all you have to do is make music.
- 14:32SPEAKER_10: And you can you can do it any way you want.
- 14:35SPEAKER_10: And you can use anything that you want to to put it like to get like a poetry.
- 14:39SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 14:40SPEAKER_10: You know, put it put it all together.
- 14:41SPEAKER_10: Can you imagine having that job?
- 14:43SPEAKER_10: That'd be awesome.
- 14:43SPEAKER_10: And then and and then and you put out a song once a month.
- 14:48SPEAKER_10: That's fantastic.
- 14:49SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's uh We should all be so lucky.
- 14:51SPEAKER_10: We should all be so lucky.
- 14:52SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 14:53SPEAKER_10: So that's I mean, that was what did you think?
- 14:55SPEAKER_10: Did you like it?
- 14:55SPEAKER_10: I actually liked it, yeah.
- 14:56SPEAKER_10: I did too.
- 14:57SPEAKER_10: It was pretty good.
- 14:57SPEAKER_10: I belong to the sky.
- 14:59SPEAKER_08: So far, I mean, on all the songs he's released on this.
- 15:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 15:03SPEAKER_10: The last two or three that we've heard.
- 15:07SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_10: Um yeah, no, I liked it as well.
- 15:10SPEAKER_10: Um I Belong to the Sky is the bright side mix from Peter Gabriel.
- 15:15SPEAKER_10: And we'll have another one next month, I guess.
- 15:17SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 15:18SPEAKER_10: We will.
- 15:19SPEAKER_10: Next new moon or full moon.
- 15:21SPEAKER_10: Uh we have another new song to uh preview.
- 15:25SPEAKER_10: Uh the new Rolling Stones album, which is called Foreign Tongues.
- 15:30SPEAKER_10: Uh it comes out.
- 15:33SPEAKER_10: We already talked about this.
- 15:34SPEAKER_10: Uh set to arrive July 10th.
- 15:37SPEAKER_10: Umited uh Steve Winwood to play on one song.
- 15:46SPEAKER_10: And then he said, Well, why don't you play on another one?
- 15:52SPEAKER_10: And so he played on another one, and then they said, Why don't you come back tomorrow?
- 15:55SPEAKER_10: We can put you on some more.
- 15:56SPEAKER_10: So he's on quite a few songs on uh on uh the new Rolling Stones album, Foreign Tongues.
- 16:03SPEAKER_10: But this is uh the first one that they've released with Steve Winwood.
- 16:07SPEAKER_10: I want to make sure I get the right one.
- 16:10SPEAKER_10: Uh the next single is called Jealous Lover.
- 16:13SPEAKER_10: But that is called Divine Intervention.
- 16:15SPEAKER_10: There's the one I'm looking for right there.
- 16:18SPEAKER_10: Uh alright, so this is Rolling Stones along with Steve Winwood.
- 16:22SPEAKER_10: Uh Jealous Lover.
- 16:24SPEAKER_10: Let's see what this sounds like after the commercial.
- 16:29SPEAKER_10: Goodness gracious.
- 16:30SPEAKER_10: I should anticipate this for now.
- 16:37SPEAKER_08: It actually sounds like a Steve Winwood song.
- 16:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 16:46SPEAKER_10: Almost sounds like uh emotional rescue type.
- 17:00SPEAKER_10: He's even singing it like emotional rescue.
- 17:49SPEAKER_08: You're choking a tree?
- 17:53SPEAKER_08: That's right.
- 17:54SPEAKER_08: I was I was not on board with it until that line.
- 17:59SPEAKER_10: What do you think of the vibe of it, the feel of it?
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: It's a little odd.
- 18:05SPEAKER_10: I think it's so full.
- 18:07SPEAKER_08: Well it is, but it's also juvenile at the same time.
- 18:12SPEAKER_10: How's it juvenile?
- 18:12SPEAKER_10: Just the way he's singing?
- 18:13SPEAKER_08: Just well no, just the tone of the song.
- 18:16SPEAKER_08: Like, ah you're you're so this and I can't believe it.
- 18:20SPEAKER_08: You know, it's like it's like a whiny song.
- 18:22SPEAKER_08: I'm I'm I'm half expecting Taylor Swift to show up at any second.
- 18:31SPEAKER_10: I dig it.
- 18:33SPEAKER_08: I too bad, but I just I don't know.
- 18:35SPEAKER_08: I just don't know how to take it.
- 18:37SPEAKER_08: It's a little odd.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a Yeah, it's a little it's a little whiny.
- 19:08SPEAKER_08: You gotta let me go, baby.
- 19:12SPEAKER_08: You're a man, just leave.
- 19:16SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no, I I'm I'm not feeling it.
- 19:19SPEAKER_10: I'm I we might disagree on this one.
- 19:22SPEAKER_10: I I dig it.
- 19:23SPEAKER_10: I think it's uh I like the music.
- 19:27SPEAKER_08: I just don't like the lyrics and the delivery rubbing me the wrong way.
- 19:34SPEAKER_10: It's uh you you know what I mean when I say emotional rescue.
- 19:37SPEAKER_08: Like is that that false title, yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah, don't make your clay.
- 19:44SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no.
- 19:47SPEAKER_10: I'm not sure what C when obviously he must have played keys or something.
- 19:50SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_10: Um I don't know.
- 19:53SPEAKER_10: That's the the second stone song off this album that I like, because we liked the first one, right?
- 19:59SPEAKER_08: No, we like the second one.
- 20:00SPEAKER_10: We like the second one.
- 20:01SPEAKER_10: What was the second one?
- 20:02SPEAKER_10: Um uh did we hear Divine Intervention?
- 20:06SPEAKER_08: No, I don't think so.
- 20:08SPEAKER_10: Uh oh Oh, this is uh uh we haven't played this one.
- 20:13SPEAKER_10: This is with Robert Smith of The Cure.
- 20:15SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 20:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah, let's play that.
- 20:22SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that sounds like the free dog today.
- 20:28SPEAKER_10: Yeah, but see, this doesn't impress me because this sounds like every song they've ever written.
- 20:35SPEAKER_10: Here is what Robert Robert Smith will do for this.
- 21:39SPEAKER_10: Uh Rolling Stones, uh a new collaboration with the Cures Robert Smith.
- 21:44SPEAKER_10: Other special guests include Pomacard Navy Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chad Smith.
- 21:48SPEAKER_10: Um Charlie Watts.
- 21:51SPEAKER_10: An archival recording from Charlie Watts is on this album.
- 21:54SPEAKER_10: That's cool.
- 21:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 21:56SPEAKER_10: Um yeah, I not that this is a bad.
- 22:00SPEAKER_10: Song.
- 22:00SPEAKER_10: I like the song.
- 22:02SPEAKER_10: I like it better than the last one.
- 22:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_10: But it sounds like it's it's it's what you expect.
- 22:08SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it's what you expect.
- 22:09SPEAKER_10: It's good.
- 22:09SPEAKER_10: It's good.
- 22:10SPEAKER_08: Um I you know I don't know what Robert Smith contributed.
- 22:14SPEAKER_10: I don't either.
- 22:15SPEAKER_10: So maybe he just wrote it.
- 22:16SPEAKER_10: Maybe he helped write it.
- 22:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 22:18SPEAKER_08: Singing background, playing guitar on it?
- 22:19SPEAKER_10: Could be, yeah.
- 22:20SPEAKER_10: So I don't know.
- 22:21SPEAKER_10: Um, but yeah.
- 22:24SPEAKER_10: And and how old are they now?
- 22:27SPEAKER_08: Oh, Mick's like 82, 83.
- 22:31SPEAKER_10: Let's see.
- 22:33SPEAKER_10: Yeah, because they're right up there with they're up there with Paul.
- 22:36SPEAKER_10: Paul McCartney.
- 22:37SPEAKER_10: Um and is Keith younger or older than Mick?
- 22:41SPEAKER_08: Well, Keith's like Methuselah.
- 22:43SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 22:44SPEAKER_10: So you're right, Mick Jagger is 82.
- 22:47SPEAKER_08: Keith's gotta be Keith's gotta be at least 82, 83.
- 22:51SPEAKER_10: Uh let's see.
- 22:53SPEAKER_10: 82.
- 22:53SPEAKER_10: Yeah, they're both 82.
- 22:55SPEAKER_10: Um the fact that they're doing it at this age, I don't care who you are.
- 23:00SPEAKER_10: That's that's that's impressive.
- 23:01SPEAKER_10: Impressive, very impressive.
- 23:03SPEAKER_10: Um because I'm only 53 and I can't even stand up sometimes.
- 23:08SPEAKER_10: Um yeah, so that's cool.
- 23:11SPEAKER_10: New music from the Rolling Stones and from uh Peter Gabriel.
- 23:14SPEAKER_10: Stones.
- 23:15SPEAKER_10: Um I saw this, not this one, this one.
- 23:19SPEAKER_10: Uh, and and thought it was a neat little um idea that we could do.
- 23:26SPEAKER_10: Uh ultimate classicrock.com.
- 23:28SPEAKER_10: Ten underrated hair metal bands that deserve to be way bigger.
- 23:33SPEAKER_10: Now, when you say hair metal, obviously you're thinking from what eighty five, eighty-six?
- 23:40SPEAKER_08: Yeah, probably eighty-four, eighty-five.
- 23:41SPEAKER_10: To like ninety.
- 23:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 23:45SPEAKER_10: Ninety, ninety-one.
- 23:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 23:46SPEAKER_10: Um, bands that should have been bigger.
- 23:49SPEAKER_10: Now I haven't looked at the list yet.
- 23:52SPEAKER_10: So let's just think uh on our own what bands should have been bigger um that were considered hair metal at the time.
- 24:01SPEAKER_10: I can think of one.
- 24:03SPEAKER_10: Uh, and that was um the John Sykes uh band, Blue Murder.
- 24:08SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 24:09SPEAKER_10: Uh they put out second like Trickster.
- 24:11SPEAKER_10: Trickster should have been bigger, yeah.
- 24:13SPEAKER_08: But they came at the end.
- 24:15SPEAKER_10: They ha that that debut album was great.
- 24:17SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, it was fantastic.
- 24:18SPEAKER_10: Um, but you're right.
- 24:20SPEAKER_10: So right around 91, 92 is when things started to change.
- 24:26SPEAKER_10: And bands like that were kind of just they were quickly forgotten about.
- 24:30SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 24:32SPEAKER_10: So what other hairbands can you think of that Steelheart?
- 24:37SPEAKER_10: Oh, Steelheart was great.
- 24:39SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 24:39SPEAKER_08: Um They only really had only on uh they only really had that one song that really anybody knows.
- 24:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah, well, they had uh Sheriff.
- 24:48SPEAKER_08: That's another one.
- 24:49SPEAKER_10: Sheriff was Sheriff was from the early 80s.
- 24:51SPEAKER_10: Yes, they were I wouldn't consider them a hairband a bit.
- 24:53SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 24:54SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 24:54SPEAKER_08: They kind of look like a hairband.
- 24:55SPEAKER_10: Well, they all had long hair, but I mean I th I think I don't think they they didn't do the makeup or anything like that.
- 25:00SPEAKER_08: So I'm sure they did.
- 25:02SPEAKER_10: Well um You probably you're probably right.
- 25:06SPEAKER_08: Because that's how you got the chicks in the 80s.
- 25:08SPEAKER_10: Uh let's see.
- 25:13SPEAKER_10: Well, think of hair metal.
- 25:14SPEAKER_10: Bands that should have been bigger.
- 25:16SPEAKER_10: Um well Daunken was big.
- 25:20SPEAKER_10: Uh Kingdom Come?
- 25:24SPEAKER_10: Maybe.
- 25:25SPEAKER_10: Maybe I never cared for them, but no.
- 25:29SPEAKER_10: What about um Well, there was Tora Torah.
- 25:34SPEAKER_10: Do you remember Tora Torah?
- 25:35SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 25:36SPEAKER_10: Tora Torah was more of like a hair metal blues band.
- 25:40SPEAKER_08: They were more like Tesla.
- 25:42SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 25:42SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 25:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 25:43SPEAKER_10: And Tesla was considered a hair band, but I don't consider it.
- 25:46SPEAKER_10: I don't consider them a hairband.
- 25:47SPEAKER_08: Even though they were they were during that era.
- 25:50SPEAKER_10: Yeah, you know.
- 25:51SPEAKER_10: Um what was the one that had that song Teas and pleasing?
- 25:57SPEAKER_10: Teas and pleasing uh Dangerous Toys.
- 26:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I don't think they should have been bigger, though.
- 26:05SPEAKER_08: What about Jackal?
- 26:07SPEAKER_10: Jackal?
- 26:09SPEAKER_10: I only knew two songs from Jackal, and obviously one of the Lumberjack.
- 26:12SPEAKER_10: Well, obviously one of them was the Lumberjack song.
- 26:14SPEAKER_10: Um they had uh one called uh The Stand or Stand and Deliver or something like that.
- 26:21SPEAKER_10: Bullet Boys.
- 26:22SPEAKER_10: Bullet Boys.
- 26:23SPEAKER_10: Yeah, should have been bigger.
- 26:25SPEAKER_10: Should have been bigger.
- 26:26SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 26:27SPEAKER_10: They had that once.
- 26:28SPEAKER_10: Well, I had the two songs.
- 26:28SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 26:29SPEAKER_10: They did a cover uh of the Motown um uh For the Love of Money.
- 26:34SPEAKER_10: The OJs, right?
- 26:35SPEAKER_10: Did that originally?
- 26:36SPEAKER_10: Uh yeah, Bullet Boys.
- 26:39SPEAKER_10: Where are they now?
- 26:39SPEAKER_10: They're probably not even together.
- 26:42SPEAKER_10: Who knows?
- 26:43SPEAKER_10: Uh well let's just see what let's just see what they said.
- 26:46SPEAKER_10: And and we'll we'll kind of talk about what uh I I said Blue Murder because they're right there.
- 26:53SPEAKER_08: They're right there.
- 26:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 26:54SPEAKER_10: I don't know who these other people are, they all look the same.
- 26:56SPEAKER_10: So let's see.
- 26:58SPEAKER_10: The first one that they have listed Badlands.
- 27:03SPEAKER_10: Now Jakey Lee.
- 27:04SPEAKER_10: It is Jakey Lee.
- 27:06SPEAKER_10: I'll be honest.
- 27:09SPEAKER_10: I don't know any Badlands songs.
- 27:11SPEAKER_10: I don't either.
- 27:12SPEAKER_10: Uh I knew of Badlands, yeah, but I never Well, we we really just knew of Jakey Lee.
- 27:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 27:17SPEAKER_10: So um Ray Gillen, um, who sang for Black Sabbath for a little while, he was the singer.
- 27:22SPEAKER_10: Eric Singer was the bass player.
- 27:24SPEAKER_10: The one that plays for Kiss.
- 27:26SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 27:27SPEAKER_10: Um called Bluesy Hard Rock.
- 27:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I I I uh even as they even as they list some of the songs, I I wasn't familiar with Badlands.
- 27:40SPEAKER_10: And that's you know Bang Tango.
- 27:43SPEAKER_10: Ha ha I forgot about Bang Tango.
- 27:45SPEAKER_10: Bang Tango.
- 27:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I forgot about those guys.
- 27:47SPEAKER_10: Um let's say they look like a hairband, they sometimes sounded like a hairband, and they toured with fellow hairbands, but there was more to Bang Tango than Meet Met the Eye, the band's 89 debut album, Psycho Cafe, peaked at number 58.
- 28:00SPEAKER_10: Uh was glam metal and funk metal.
- 28:04SPEAKER_10: Um, can you name one song from Bang Tango?
- 28:07SPEAKER_10: I can't.
- 28:07SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 28:08SPEAKER_10: I just remember the song.
- 28:09SPEAKER_10: I remember the name.
- 28:10SPEAKER_10: Bang Tango.
- 28:11SPEAKER_10: Yep, I remember the name too.
- 28:13SPEAKER_10: Uh there's Blue Murder, which of course was John Sykes uh from uh Whitesnake, um Carmine Apassy and Um Tony Franklin on bass.
- 28:25SPEAKER_10: Uh Dangerous Toys.
- 28:28SPEAKER_10: Yep, there you go.
- 28:29SPEAKER_10: Um Teasing Pleasin', Scared.
- 28:31SPEAKER_10: I remember Scared was a good song.
- 28:32SPEAKER_10: Do you remember that song?
- 28:33SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 28:34SPEAKER_10: Uh let me I want to play that.
- 28:36SPEAKER_10: Because it was good stuff.
- 28:39SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see.
- 28:42SPEAKER_11: Dangerous Toys.
- 28:45SPEAKER_11: Scared.
- 28:46SPEAKER_10: I liked it anyway.
- 28:47SPEAKER_10: Uh I I wasn't a huge fan of the the band.
- 28:50SPEAKER_10: I mean, I had when I was in college, my roommate had this album.
- 29:39SPEAKER_10: Remember this now?
- 29:40SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 29:40SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 29:42SPEAKER_10: I just like the chorus.
- 29:43SPEAKER_10: I have zero recollection of the case.
- 29:45SPEAKER_10: What about uh teasing pleasing?
- 29:46SPEAKER_10: Do you remember that song?
- 29:47SPEAKER_08: Vaguely.
- 29:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 29:48SPEAKER_08: I wasn't a huge fan of these guys stuff.
- 29:50SPEAKER_10: Well, I wasn't either.
- 29:51SPEAKER_10: I mean, I I just I remember the band, and I like I said, my roommate had uh the album and he also had Tora Torah I never owned Tora Tora, but I like Tora Torah, which was uh um uh it was a bluesy song.
- 30:04SPEAKER_10: It was a blues song, Tora Torah did.
- 30:06SPEAKER_10: They had a hit with it, minor hit.
- 30:09SPEAKER_10: Oh, shoot.
- 30:10SPEAKER_10: And I can't even I can't even think of the name of it.
- 30:15SPEAKER_10: Uh if I what if I type in Tora Torah?
- 30:19SPEAKER_10: Let's see what happens.
- 30:22SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, walking shoes.
- 30:25SPEAKER_10: Uh this, like I said, was not a huge hit, but my roommate in college played a lot.
- 30:34SPEAKER_10: Do you remember this?
- 30:35SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 30:59SPEAKER_10: It's a blue song.
- 31:00SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 31:00SPEAKER_10: So the heavy metal blue song is what it is.
- 31:03SPEAKER_10: Um, I think they're still together, actually.
- 31:08SPEAKER_10: Uh Hanoi Rocks.
- 31:10SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_10: Another band that you hear that in rock and roll lore, you know, that's obviously tied to Motley Crue because of the.
- 31:16SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah, that that that's really their yeah.
- 31:18SPEAKER_10: Unfortunately, that's only their I've never heard any music from Hanoi Rocks.
- 31:24SPEAKER_10: Have you?
- 31:24SPEAKER_08: I have, but I can't that's not nothing that's coming back to me.
- 31:29SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I uh I know they had a couple minor hits before uh what's his face passed away, but yeah.
- 31:35SPEAKER_10: Razzle.
- 31:36SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 31:36SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 31:37SPEAKER_10: Uh I um I wish I could uh I I wish I could say that I think they should have been bigger, but I don't know.
- 31:44SPEAKER_10: I don't know either.
- 31:45SPEAKER_10: Um I don't know.
- 31:46SPEAKER_08: We will never know.
- 31:47SPEAKER_10: LA Guns.
- 31:50SPEAKER_10: I was never a fan of the game.
- 31:51SPEAKER_10: I was never a big fan of them.
- 31:53SPEAKER_10: They had that one song, uh Ballad of Jane.
- 31:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 31:56SPEAKER_10: Which was decent.
- 31:57SPEAKER_10: Um yeah.
- 31:58SPEAKER_10: Um but I never I was never a fan of them, so I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say they should have been bigger.
- 32:05SPEAKER_10: Because I don't, you know.
- 32:08SPEAKER_10: The sleazy stuff I I had a hard time with.
- 32:12SPEAKER_10: You know?
- 32:13SPEAKER_10: This like the sleaze metal.
- 32:15SPEAKER_10: Oh.
- 32:16SPEAKER_10: And I consider LA guns I consider sleaze metal.
- 32:20SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 32:20SPEAKER_10: You know.
- 32:21SPEAKER_10: Not that it's a bad thing, it's just not, you know.
- 32:24SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 32:25SPEAKER_10: Uh my my taste.
- 32:27SPEAKER_10: Loudness.
- 32:29SPEAKER_10: Don't even know.
- 32:30SPEAKER_10: Yeah, for they're from uh Japan.
- 32:32SPEAKER_10: Oh uh Crazy Nights, I think was their big hit.
- 32:36SPEAKER_10: Um but I I uh again don't know any other hits from them, so I can't I can't really um Yeah, Crazy Nights.
- 32:49SPEAKER_10: Rock and roll crazy nights from loudness.
- 33:01SPEAKER_10: That's a long commercial.
- 33:04SPEAKER_08: Now I gotta watch the guy bowl.
- 33:45SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I don't think they should have been bigger.
- 33:46SPEAKER_10: I I mean, I don't know.
- 33:48SPEAKER_08: Well, it's it it's interesting because traditionally Japanese culture has been 20, 30 years behind everybody else.
- 33:55SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 33:56SPEAKER_08: Like in the 80s, they were just getting into the 50s.
- 33:59SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 34:00SPEAKER_08: You know, so for these guys to be like doing 80s hair metal in the eighties, actually kind of like uh not only that, uh kind of like an anomaly.
- 34:08SPEAKER_10: Yeah, aren't aren't Japanese audiences traditionally very reserved.
- 34:13SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, they're very they're very polite.
- 34:14SPEAKER_08: They don't think it's they don't think it's uh right uh uh they don't think it's right for you to like scream during uh well like cheer while while people are performing.
- 34:24SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 34:24SPEAKER_08: You know, it's just just how they are.
- 34:26SPEAKER_08: You know, I think it's I think it's changing, but uh tradition.
- 34:31SPEAKER_08: Well, like when you listen to um cheap trick, live at Budokai.
- 34:36SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 34:36SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:37SPEAKER_08: That's a little different.
- 34:38SPEAKER_08: That I don't that was when they were starting to get this whole like ah, you know, yeah.
- 34:43SPEAKER_08: But you know, traditionally they're very, very, like, very like when the Beatles went, they were like, Do they like us?
- 34:49SPEAKER_08: Yeah, exactly.
- 34:50SPEAKER_08: You know, but but every at the end of every song, they were all like, you know.
- 34:54SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 34:54SPEAKER_08: But during the performance themselves, they were very, very, very, very quiet.
- 34:58SPEAKER_08: So oh wow.
- 35:00SPEAKER_10: Uh next band that should have been bigger, Lynch Mob.
- 35:04SPEAKER_10: George Lynch from uh Dawkins, the uh the band that he started after he left the left Dawkins.
- 35:09SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 35:10SPEAKER_10: Uh Wicked Sensation, which it was a huge thing for I thought, anyway.
- 35:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 35:14SPEAKER_10: I'm not sure where it charted or anything.
- 35:16SPEAKER_10: River of Love was a good one.
- 35:18SPEAKER_10: Um I mean, they were pretty good.
- 35:20SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 35:20SPEAKER_10: Would you think that they should have been bigger?
- 35:24SPEAKER_10: Oni Logan.
- 35:25SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 35:25SPEAKER_10: I mean, you know, it's just like I think Onie Logan was the lead singer.
- 35:28SPEAKER_08: George Lynch is such a wild card, you never know.
- 35:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 35:31SPEAKER_08: You know what I mean?
- 35:32SPEAKER_10: McBrown was in that band too.
- 35:33SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, well, you know.
- 35:35SPEAKER_08: Make a song.
- 35:36SPEAKER_10: They have Warrant on here.
- 35:38SPEAKER_08: Well, I thought Warrant was pretty big.
- 35:40SPEAKER_08: I mean, I suppose they could have been bigger.
- 35:42SPEAKER_10: Hold on, let me read it.
- 35:43SPEAKER_10: We know what you're thinking.
- 35:44SPEAKER_10: Wait, Warrant?
- 35:45SPEAKER_10: The band with two double platinum albums, a number two peaking power ballad, and a generational blank rock anthem in Cherry Pie.
- 35:53SPEAKER_10: I'm not gonna say the word.
- 35:54SPEAKER_10: Uh, that Warrant, how the hell were they underrated?
- 35:58SPEAKER_10: We hear your concerns, dear reader, and we counter with three simple words.
- 36:02SPEAKER_10: Dog eat dog.
- 36:04SPEAKER_08: Oh, that was a terrible album.
- 36:05SPEAKER_10: See, now they think it was the their best.
- 36:07SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 36:08SPEAKER_10: Warrant's third album was just wasn't just their best work, but a highlight of the entire glam metal era.
- 36:13SPEAKER_08: Isn't that the one that was like?
- 36:14SPEAKER_08: That song Machine Gun was on that album.
- 36:16SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 36:17SPEAKER_08: That was a good song.
- 36:17SPEAKER_10: It wasn't uh no, Uncle Tom's Cabin wasn't on that album.
- 36:20SPEAKER_08: That was on uh Cherry Pie.

- 41:30SPEAKER_10: 1983.
- 41:34SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 41:35SPEAKER_10: An engineer uses a vacuum cleaner while a baby eats chili.

- 41:57SPEAKER_10: And if we haven't, then a pony passes English.
- 42:08SPEAKER_10: Despite being in a gang.
- 42:11SPEAKER_10: Oh! Outsiders.
- 42:12SPEAKER_10: Outsiders.
- 42:13SPEAKER_10: Okay, so we haven't done that one.
- 42:15SPEAKER_10: Stay gold, pony boy.
- 42:16SPEAKER_10: Alright, so I'll do I'm gonna pick one more because we one of those we'd already done.

- 42:45SPEAKER_10: Have you not seen that one?
- 42:47SPEAKER_08: I probably have, but I don't remember it.
- 42:49SPEAKER_10: Okay, so this is the one that's not the one I thought.
- 42:52SPEAKER_10: Well, uh give you the benefit of the doubt, I picked that one out uh without even looking at it.
- 43:00SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 43:01SPEAKER_10: But this is the one that I picked that I don't think you'll get.
- 43:03SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 43:04SPEAKER_10: Uh and and maybe we've done maybe we've done it.
- 43:07SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 43:08SPEAKER_10: Rain traps a delivery driver.
- 43:17SPEAKER_10: In a foreign part of town, 1986.
- 43:21SPEAKER_08: Is it uh big trouble in little China?
- 43:24SPEAKER_10: It absolutely is.
- 43:26SPEAKER_10: Smart boy.
- 43:27SPEAKER_10: Yay! Smart boy.
- 43:29SPEAKER_10: All right.
- 43:30SPEAKER_10: So I have a lot of time on my hands, apparently.
- 43:32SPEAKER_10: Um, have you heard from uh Miss Judges?
- 43:35SPEAKER_10: Correct.
- 43:35SPEAKER_10: You have?
- 43:36SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 43:36SPEAKER_10: Oh, good.
- 43:37SPEAKER_10: Yes, yes, yes.
- 43:38SPEAKER_10: So that means we can do this.
- 43:39SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 43:40SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness, Judge Ness, Judge Ness.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: It's time to play next day.
- 43:56SPEAKER_10: Remember what the question was from last week?
- 44:00SPEAKER_10: No.
- 44:01SPEAKER_10: I don't either.
- 44:02SPEAKER_10: Check the check what?
- 44:04SPEAKER_10: Check the box.
- 44:05SPEAKER_10: From last week?
- 44:07SPEAKER_10: No, no.
- 44:07SPEAKER_10: I mean like like what is she judging?
- 44:09SPEAKER_10: What is she judging?
- 44:10SPEAKER_10: I don't remember.
- 44:11SPEAKER_10: We'll find out in fact.
- 44:12SPEAKER_10: We're gonna start with the past, obviously.
- 44:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 44:14SPEAKER_10: Uh let me know when you're ready.
- 44:15SPEAKER_10: Okay, you ready?
- 44:16SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 44:16SPEAKER_08: Alright, here we go.
- 44:18SPEAKER_08: Here's the judge.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Hey guys, that was actually a really hard week for mixtape.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: It was fun.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: I enjoyed listening to the songs.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: Um, but I had to go with uh Doug's pick, Everything About You.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: I don't know why, but in my head I could easily picture like one of those cheesy rom-coms and somebody just screaming that song at the top of their lungs as they drive home after being stood up.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Uh that one fit perfectly.
- 44:42SPEAKER_10: That's right, being stood up, right?
- 44:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so so it was everything about you.
- 44:46SPEAKER_10: What was mine?
- 44:47SPEAKER_10: Do you remember?
- 44:48SPEAKER_08: I think I picked it.
- 44:49SPEAKER_08: Cousin Larry had dancing with myself.
- 44:52SPEAKER_10: That's right.
- 44:53SPEAKER_10: I think I picked it.
- 44:54SPEAKER_10: Oh no, I don't care anymore, Phil Collins.
- 44:56SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 44:56SPEAKER_10: That's what it was.
- 44:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 44:57SPEAKER_10: That's what it was.
- 44:58SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 44:59SPEAKER_10: Um so that was past.
- 45:02SPEAKER_10: And now we're going to go to present.
- 45:07SPEAKER_10: And the question for that we're going to tackle this week.
- 45:12SPEAKER_10: Best locker room, get crazy, paint your face with animal print, psych up song before the big game.
- 45:23SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 45:24SPEAKER_10: So what was Cousin Larry?
- 45:28SPEAKER_10: Cousin Larry.
- 45:31SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 45:33SPEAKER_08: Here's what Cousin Larry said.
- 45:34SPEAKER_08: Mixtape.
- 45:35SPEAKER_08: I thought of a lot of songs you often hear in sporting events, like Metallica's Ender Sandman or and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
- 45:42SPEAKER_08: As well as songs like Thunderstruck, We Will Rock You and I Are the Tiger.
- 45:46SPEAKER_08: But being the Sox fan that I am, I'm I'll go with shipping up to Boston by the Dropkick Murphy's.
- 45:52SPEAKER_08: It was always cool to hear when Papel Bomb came in from the bullpen.
- 45:57SPEAKER_08: Honorable mention to Alan Parsons' project Sirius.
- 46:00SPEAKER_10: Sirius, oh yeah.
- 46:01SPEAKER_08: And they played this at an avalanche game I went to with fog rising from the ice and lights flashing as the team came onto the ice.
- 46:10SPEAKER_08: It was very cool.
- 46:12SPEAKER_10: Uh I think Sirius is underrated.
- 46:15SPEAKER_10: Awesome song.
- 46:17SPEAKER_10: But this is pretty awesome.
- 46:18SPEAKER_10: This is pretty awesome.
- 47:18SPEAKER_10: Great choice.
- 47:19SPEAKER_10: Great choice.
- 47:20SPEAKER_10: What was your choice?
- 47:21SPEAKER_08: I was I was I I mean, this is a great choice, but they actually wrote a song for the Red Sox called Tessie.
- 47:29SPEAKER_08: Well, it's not they didn't write it, but they brought it back to uh, which is pretty great.
- 47:34SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 47:34SPEAKER_08: They they they credit the drop kicks coming out with Tessie for them winning their first World Series breaking the drought.
- 47:42SPEAKER_08: Oh, is that why?
- 47:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 47:43SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 47:43SPEAKER_08: With that song.
- 47:44SPEAKER_08: So.
- 47:45SPEAKER_10: Is that what you picked?
- 47:46SPEAKER_10: No.
- 47:47SPEAKER_10: Oh, okay.
- 47:47SPEAKER_10: No, no, no.
- 47:48SPEAKER_10: What did you pick?
- 47:48SPEAKER_08: I picked Metallica Battery.
- 47:54SPEAKER_10: This is your locker room get you psyched song.
- 47:58SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 48:15SPEAKER_08: So you gotta start off slow.
- 48:16SPEAKER_08: I was just gonna say, this is gonna get you psyched?
- 48:18SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 48:20SPEAKER_10: I suppose.
- 48:22SPEAKER_08: You know, you don't want to rush into things.
- 48:24SPEAKER_08: Yep.
- 48:24SPEAKER_08: Especially at my age.
- 48:26SPEAKER_08: That could be pain, you know, give me a heart attack or something.
- 49:41SPEAKER_10: That'll certainly get you going.
- 49:42SPEAKER_10: That's what I'm saying, man.
- 49:45SPEAKER_08: You know, if they had stopped after Cliff had died and this was the last Metallic album, I would have been okay with it.
- 49:53SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 49:54SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 49:55SPEAKER_08: I mean, they've come up with a lot of great stuff since then.
- 49:57SPEAKER_08: No, don't get me wrong, but I mean, Master of Puppets is just like pinnacle.
- 50:03SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 50:03SPEAKER_08: For me, you know.
- 50:04SPEAKER_10: So mine will surprise you.
- 50:13SPEAKER_10: Um, yeah, because I'm I I went with a band that I I don't really care for.
- 50:17SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 50:18SPEAKER_10: But this song I have seen it used in a locker room.
- 50:25SPEAKER_10: Uh and it took to great effect.
- 50:28SPEAKER_10: So what I chose was Oh, yeah.
- 50:34SPEAKER_10: You know you you know what song I'm talking about.
- 50:36SPEAKER_10: I do.
- 50:36SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 50:36unknown: Let the body's hit the floor.
- 50:38SPEAKER_03: Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the drowning pool.
- 51:50SPEAKER_10: There you go.
- 51:52SPEAKER_10: Drowning pool bodies is uh my choice.
- 51:55SPEAKER_10: Metallica's battery uh from Doug and Cousin Larry.
- 52:01SPEAKER_10: Uh I already forgot.
- 52:02SPEAKER_10: Ship it up to Boston.
- 52:03SPEAKER_10: Ship it up to Boston.
- 52:04SPEAKER_10: Um drop drop kick Murphys.
- 52:07SPEAKER_10: Three great choices.
- 52:08SPEAKER_10: Sure to get the game uh where where you want to so yeah, I think she's got her work cut out for her.
- 52:18SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 52:18SPEAKER_10: Um this just ended.
- 52:20SPEAKER_10: Of course, this is on Tuesday.
- 52:22SPEAKER_08: Tuesday.

- 52:40SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they were trying to get their equipment over.
- 52:43SPEAKER_10: Something like that.
- 52:44SPEAKER_10: So they had to postpone it.
- 52:45SPEAKER_08: They had to pay off the cartels.
- 52:46SPEAKER_10: Right, yeah, something like that.
- 52:48SPEAKER_10: Uh this time, uh, Getty Lee has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis.
- 52:53SPEAKER_10: So um they the doctors have advised him he needs additional time to rest and recover before returning to the stage.
- 53:01SPEAKER_10: You know, I mean, he's 70 years old and the the road is brutal.
- 53:07SPEAKER_10: It is brutal.
- 53:08SPEAKER_10: You know, and you're singing you're singing every night or every other night even.
- 53:11SPEAKER_10: And this is their first tour and Right.
- 53:13SPEAKER_08: Oh, you know, ten years.

- 53:28SPEAKER_10: We're going to future take-oh yeah, we got future, thank you.
- 53:32SPEAKER_10: Check the checklist! I don't know where the checklist went.
- 53:34SPEAKER_10: Oh my word.
- 53:34SPEAKER_10: I think it's on the floor somewhere.
- 53:35SPEAKER_10: That's not good.
- 53:36SPEAKER_10: With the bodies.
- 53:37SPEAKER_08: Bodies.
- 53:38SPEAKER_08: Let the checklist hit the floor.
- 53:40SPEAKER_08: Let the checklist hit the floor.
- 53:42SPEAKER_10: Alright, let's do a future question.
- 53:44SPEAKER_10: Do you have one?
- 53:45SPEAKER_10: I do.
- 53:45SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 53:47SPEAKER_08: Storm chasing a violent F5 tornado.
- 53:50SPEAKER_08: You notice it's changed course and now fills the rear view mirror.
- 53:55SPEAKER_08: What song plays as you fly across the planes trying to escape its grasp?
- 54:00SPEAKER_10: I already know.
- 54:03SPEAKER_10: I think you know uh what I do, so that's okay.
- 54:06SPEAKER_08: All I can think about is Helen Hunt.
- 54:09SPEAKER_10: Well, yeah.
- 54:11SPEAKER_10: Just in general?
- 54:12SPEAKER_10: Or from that from that question.
- 54:15SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 54:17SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 54:17SPEAKER_08: I don't have a crush on Helen.
- 54:19SPEAKER_08: No, no, no.
- 54:19SPEAKER_08: What are you talking about?
- 54:20SPEAKER_08: No, no, no.
- 54:20SPEAKER_08: Silly head.
- 54:22SPEAKER_10: Uh alright, we're gonna take a break.
- 54:23SPEAKER_10: And we're gonna come back and we'll play Wall of Tunes Smash or Trash.
- 54:30SPEAKER_08: Smash or trash.

- 56:11SPEAKER_10: Let's get this out of the way.
- 56:12SPEAKER_01: O'Brien and Doug's wall of two, two smash, smash or trash.
- 56:19SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 56:20SPEAKER_10: Yeah, we got your cousin Larry to update that.
- 56:22SPEAKER_10: Yeah, we do.
- 56:23SPEAKER_10: We have changed Wall of Tunes to uh to weed out some of this uh material.
- 56:27SPEAKER_10: So uh we're doing Wall of Tunes, Smash or Trash.
- 56:30SPEAKER_10: I picked an album uh last week.
- 56:33SPEAKER_10: Uh so far, uh the first two that I've I chose in the past two weeks, three weeks, uh Quiet Riot and Kenny Loggins have both been uh trashed.
- 56:42SPEAKER_10: Trash both been trashed.
- 56:44SPEAKER_10: Uh some some uh wanted to keep Quiet Riot.
- 56:48SPEAKER_10: Uh one or two people that voted wanted to keep Quiet Riot, but the the the trash votes.
- 56:53SPEAKER_08: They got voted down.
- 56:54SPEAKER_10: And uh I think it was almost uh I think it's pretty unanimous.
- 56:57SPEAKER_10: I think on Kenny Loggins it was unanimous uh to trash.
- 57:01SPEAKER_10: So this week uh we are talking about uh the best of Sting, Fields of Gold from 1984 to 1994.
- 57:11SPEAKER_10: So uh let's give Kariani the first uh nod because he was one of the first to uh put his in.
- 57:19SPEAKER_10: Uh he says, I think you need to keep Gordon or Sting.
- 57:23SPEAKER_10: Gordon.
- 57:24SPEAKER_10: What a great album.
- 57:25SPEAKER_10: Um so there's there's Jeff's vote.
- 57:28SPEAKER_08: So Smash.
- 57:29SPEAKER_10: Smash.
- 57:30SPEAKER_10: Uh Chris uh Bob, our our Bob, our Bob, uh has weighed in.
- 57:35SPEAKER_10: I don't know that he uh waited on the last one, but I think actually.
- 57:40SPEAKER_10: I know I missed last week's Smash or Trash deadline.
- 57:43SPEAKER_10: Trash.
- 57:43SPEAKER_10: Sorry, Kenny Loggins.
- 57:45SPEAKER_10: But for what it's worth for this week's vote, I'm all for Smashing the Sting album.
- 57:48SPEAKER_10: Fields of gold and fortress around my heart make it worth it.
- 57:51SPEAKER_10: I agree.
- 57:53SPEAKER_10: Agreed wholeheartedly.
- 57:55SPEAKER_10: Uh Cousin Larry.
- 57:57SPEAKER_10: Let's see.
- 57:59SPEAKER_10: I forgot Smash or Trash last week, but I would have voted trash.
- 58:02SPEAKER_10: I had not heard that album before, so I listened to the whole thing, and it was just a poor offering from Kenny Loggins.
- 58:08SPEAKER_10: This week, Smash or Trash, I would vote Smash.
- 58:11SPEAKER_10: I'm not a huge Sting fan.
- 58:13SPEAKER_10: Bring on the Night is the only album of his that I own, but the Fields of Gold 1984 to 1994 is solid.
- 58:21SPEAKER_10: Keep it.
- 58:21SPEAKER_10: We should get sound effects for Smash or Trash.
- 58:24SPEAKER_10: I should work on that.
- 58:25SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 58:26SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 58:27SPEAKER_10: Um, and then um Bob Lanchard.
- 58:31SPEAKER_10: Bounce and Bob.
- 58:32SPEAKER_08: Uh I thought that was Bounce and Bob.
- 58:34SPEAKER_10: No, that was kind of Lanchard.
- 58:36SPEAKER_10: Oh, okay.
- 58:36SPEAKER_10: Bounce and Bob says Smash.
- 58:39SPEAKER_10: Uh this album is one I could see myself traveling all the way to KMH music to buy.
- 58:44SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 58:45SPEAKER_10: Uh and then he said, uh, because I mentioned Clint I bought Clint Black's um memoirs.
- 58:51SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 58:51SPEAKER_10: So I just finished reading Clint Black Black's book.
- 58:54SPEAKER_10: Say that ten times fast.
- 58:56SPEAKER_10: Clint Black book that you recently purchased.
- 58:59SPEAKER_10: A good read.
- 59:00SPEAKER_10: It was refreshing to read about a music star that avoids depression, drugs, alcohol abuse, multiple lawsuits involving paternity claims, or sex abuse.
- 59:07SPEAKER_10: Clint is another music personality that performed in Rangley Maine that I was able to see in person in 2016.
- 59:13SPEAKER_10: So I haven't even started that book yet, so uh I look forward to reading it.
- 59:18SPEAKER_10: So I am I am what what's your vote?
- 59:21SPEAKER_08: Well, we gotta get the judge in here.
- 59:23SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 59:24SPEAKER_08: As for Smash or Trash, I have to go with Smash.
- 59:27SPEAKER_08: When y'all were talking about the album, O'Brien had more songs on this album he seemed to enjoy.
- 59:32SPEAKER_08: Or be happy to listening to.
- 59:34SPEAKER_08: If it's something you will listen to regularly, it feels like or feels like it brings you joy.
- 59:38SPEAKER_08: You should keep it.
- 59:39SPEAKER_08: She's smart.
- 59:40SPEAKER_08: She's smart.
- 59:40SPEAKER_08: She's smart.
- 59:41SPEAKER_08: Wiggie smash.
- 59:42SPEAKER_10: Uh alright, and what was your vote?
- 59:44SPEAKER_10: Ah, definitely smash.
- 59:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah, and I I I vote Smash as well.
- 59:48SPEAKER_10: Um I uh I'm like Larry, I I like Sting.
- 59:54SPEAKER_10: Yeah, he's incredibly talented.
- 59:56SPEAKER_10: I like the police.
- 59:58SPEAKER_10: I like his solo stuff better than the police, to be honest.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_08: Um the opposite, I like the uh but um I think that's more of being a fan of Stuart Copeland than the city.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_10: Yeah, travel decks.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_10: Uh don't get me wrong, I love the police.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_10: But you know, Fortress Around Your Heart is is worth the price of admission right there.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_08: Heck yeah.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_10: Um but I mean all the other songs on here too, be still my beating heart, if I ever lose my faith in you, um, we'll be together.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_10: Uh good just good stuff.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_10: Good stuff.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_10: So yeah, I'm gonna keep it.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_10: That is a smash.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_10: That's the first smash since we started this one.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_10: Um so the one, so I pick a pick a a new one now, right?
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_10: Uh new one to ponder.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_10: I think I already know what I'm gonna do with it or what I want to do with it.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_10: Uh the icon collection, I guess.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_10: Is it icon is not a Walmart thing?
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_10: The icon or the icon collection.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_10: Uh it sounds like a Walmart thing.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it does.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_10: Um But this album is share icon.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_10: And even though I you know what holds true, Ms.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_10: Judge had said something.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_10: If you if if you play a a lot of the songs from it, it means you probably could listen to it.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna play a lot of the songs from this.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_10: I'm not gonna give you my vote though.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_08: That's fair.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_07: If I could turn back town, if I could find a way, I'd take back those words that'll hurt you, and you'd stay.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_10: Now this is this is I don't know why.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_10: Most of this is from the uh late 80s era chair.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_10: Um I like this one.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_10: I found someone.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_10: Remember this one?
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_10: I love the song actually.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_06: So many things that come and go.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_10: Uh, then there's this one.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_10: This is with Peter Sotera.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_10: Do you remember this?
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_10: After all, yeah, is what it's called.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_10: He was kind of the hit boy one uh in the late 80s.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_10: He was.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_10: Had that duet with uh Amy Grant.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_10: This is a great song.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_10: I mean I'm not gonna uh and then this one this was uh there was a lot of Bon Jovi influence.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_10: I think this is Bon Jovi playing the song, the whole band.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_08: I remember this one.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_10: You will in a second.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_04: Somebody so win turns off the light.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_05: Somebody all alone face is the night.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_05: You got to be strong when you're out on your road C all sleep alone.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_10: You remember it?
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_10: Nope, nope.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_04: All right, and then there's this one You struggle into town like you're sleeping on God, just a small with a big city attitude.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_08: You do?
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_08: I don't know why.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_10: Now this also has uh some songs on it from the 70s.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_10: Uh Half Breed is on here, Dark Lady, uh Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_10: Do you remember that song?
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_10: And then from the 90s, I think.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah, because I played it on Channel X when I was on the radio there.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_10: You ever hear this one?
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_10: Love and Understanding.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_10: Possibly.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_10: I actually like this song.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_10: And it might be because I played it all the time on the radio.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_10: Uh, and then she did a cover from the movie that she was in, Mermaids.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_10: Do you remember?
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_10: One Over Rider.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_10: One I know writer.
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah, this one.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_10: Okay, so I played a lot of songs off this one, and this might be might be a challenge to uh Miss Judges' theory.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_10: Um I'm not gonna say why, but just take that as food for thought.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_10: I do love all of these songs.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_10: I really do.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_10: Alright, so that.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_10: Is the album this week?
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_10: Is it smashed or is it trash?
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_10: It is the basically the best of chair.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_10: It's the icon collection.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_10: Uh from the Walmart version.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_10: Right, from chair.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_10: So we think anyway.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_10: What do you think?
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_10: Smash or trash?
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_10: So all of those that are taking part.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_08: So we're looking for Bubber, Bouncing Bob, Cousin Larry, Judge, Jeff, you and me.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_08: That's seven.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_08: Yep.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_08: Okay, there we go.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_08: That works.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_10: So uh that's it.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_10: That is um episode uh two ninety seven.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_10: That's all there is, there ain't no more.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_10: That's all it is, there ain't no more.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_10: Did we talk about any movies?
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_10: We talked about mermaids.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_10: Mermaids.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_08: Talk about mermaids.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_10: That was the last thing we just said.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_10: I saw that movie once, and that was that doesn't warrant uh warranty uh really it was okay.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was no, it was a good movie.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah, you know, we watched uh my wife and I watched a movie uh that I had seen before but she hadn't seen, which was actually quite fun.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_10: Um She's the Man.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah, with Amanda Bynes before she went off the rails.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_10: Uh she was actually I enjoyed her personality and her acting, uh, even as goofy as it was, um, better than like Miley Cyrus.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_10: I would have liked to seen Amanda Bynes get to the Miley Cyrus uh status instead of instead of Miley Cyrus.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_08: Right, yeah.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_10: Um Miley obviously could sing.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_10: I don't know if Amanda Bynes sang or not, but I don't know.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_10: She uh yeah, she's she's something else these days.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_08: Um yeah, I don't know what happened to her.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_10: No, I don't either.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_08: I blame drugs.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_10: Um but yeah, it was a cute movie.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_10: My my wife and I actually my wife actually says, Yeah, that was cute.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_10: You know, and and she doesn't normally say that.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_10: Normal, I I already explained to you that we we don't do much on an on our anniversary.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_10: We watched a movie.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_10: Um, and I told her, I said, I can't watch a movie with you.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_10: And she's like, Why?
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_10: Because she is so intuitive.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_08: Yeah, she already knows how it's gonna end.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_10: She all she like like before it's even halfway done, she knows what it's and and she will tell you what's gonna happen.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_10: And that that just ticks me off.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_10: Not ticks me off, but just it's like it's takes all the fun out of it for me.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_10: Because I like watching it from the beginning to the end and and right letting it unfold.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_10: And so I told her, I said, I can't watch a movie with you.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_10: And so she took that in and then decided that when we watched that movie, she wasn't gonna say anything until the very end.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_10: I knew that was gonna happen.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_10: I'm like, yeah, right, you did.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_08: Sure yeah I did.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_10: And so I also told her uh that I can I have a hard time watching movies with my children, most of my children, um, because of the attention span.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_10: You know, uh uh maybe it's just maybe it's just me.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_10: I don't think it is.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_10: But like if I'm showing or if I'm watching a movie uh that I maybe know what's gonna happen, or maybe even I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_10: Um and and I'm watch I start with my kids and we're watching it and the story is unfolding, right?
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_10: Maybe it's a movie I want them to see because it's a good story, you know.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_10: This is from my childhood, I want you to see it.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_10: And the story is unfolding.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_10: I find myself saying all the time, watch this part.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_10: Did you catch did you catch that?
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_10: Watch this part.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_10: Were you listening?
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_10: Were you watching?
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_10: Uh because they'll get up and they'll go to the kitchen in the middle of the movie.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_10: And I'm like, you're gonna miss this important part.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_10: So I pause it.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_10: You don't have to pause it.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_10: Yes, I do have to pause it.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_10: I want you to see this part.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_10: Or they're on their phone.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_10: You know, checking their phone when when they're when the movie's playing.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_10: I'm like, you either stop watching the movie or you put your phone down.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_10: Uh just maybe it's just because I'm old and cranky.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_10: But uh I want them to catch all the little intricacies of the movie.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_10: And they don't have the attention span.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_08: No, they don't.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_10: Uh, and I it's it's not just my kids, it's a generation.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it is.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it's a generation.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_10: It really is.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it really is.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_08: You shouldn't show them uh usual, usual suspects then, because they'll be completely lost.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_08: I know.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_10: Because I I even when I watched that movie for the first time, I was like, no freaking way.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_10: I so want want them to see uh at least Eli.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_10: I want it because Eli's 18, he could he could probably, you know, watch it.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_10: I think Finn could probably watch it too, but he would be lost.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_10: Even even if he was paying complete attention to it, he would be lost.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_10: So usual suspects?
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_08: Um yeah, you're really gonna watch that movie.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_10: That's that's one that I that I want want to show them.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_10: The other day we're just so Eli was here the other day, and we're I'm I'm like Really?
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_10: Because he lives here.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_10: They're very rarely here, they're rarely here anymore.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_10: They both have girlfriends and and work, and anyway.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_10: Uh but he was here on the couch, and I said, You want to watch a movie?
