- 0:00Speaker 1: Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Hey, good afternoon. It's
- 0:06Speaker 1: finally Friday, and we couldn't be happier. 306 in the afternoon.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's comfortable outside. Nice day, 82 degrees, and we'll be
- 0:13Speaker 1: with you until 6 tonight. Our top secret number, as always,
- 0:16Speaker 1: if you'd like to conversate here this afternoon, 330-729-9977.
- 0:18Speaker 2: 330-729-9977.
- 0:18Speaker 1: We'll get you through to us on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Another day that I look at the finances of things
- 0:33Speaker 1: and you just kind of shake your heads to a
- 0:36Speaker 1: certain extent. As I've said to you, and we have
- 0:40Speaker 1: a little more time today, this situation in Iran is
- 0:45Speaker 1: just a mess. It's an absolute mess. And put me
- 0:51Speaker 1: down as one of those people who just, I just
- 0:53Speaker 1: don't see it getting better. As I've said to you
- 0:57Speaker 1: numerous times and I say to you again, I think
- 0:59Speaker 1: that this was probably a gigantic mistake from the very beginning.
- 1:04Speaker 1: A big mistake from the very beginning. And I think
- 1:07Speaker 1: there are serious consequences that as this goes on. Hopefully
- 1:12Speaker 1: I'm wrong and hopefully that's not the case. But I'm
- 1:16Speaker 1: concerned that I'm genuinely concerned with where oil prices go,
- 1:22Speaker 1: gas prices go. And how do you get out of
- 1:24Speaker 1: this situation? How do you get out of this situation?
- 1:30Speaker 1: You know, you got to remember before any of this
- 1:32Speaker 1: took place, we didn't have any of these problems with
- 1:34Speaker 1: the straight. The straight was open. There wasn't any of
- 1:37Speaker 1: these issues at all. Take a look. Just take a look.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Oil prices were down. Gas was around, what, 250, 260
- 1:45Speaker 1: a gallon. Inflation seemed to be coming down. All of
- 1:49Speaker 1: those gains that Trump managed to achieve vanished in the
- 1:53Speaker 1: blink of an eye as a result of this. And
- 1:57Speaker 1: now you take a look, yes, back to $ 4 or $ 3. 89,
- 2:00Speaker 1: depending on where you are, a gallon in my neck
- 2:04Speaker 1: of the woods. And so we're right back to bombing again,
- 2:11Speaker 1: which is just, I just, we shall see if it
- 2:16Speaker 1: changes things. If it changes things, we shall see. What's
- 2:23Speaker 1: your insight? What's your input? What's your thoughts? You got any?
- 2:33Speaker 1: 330-729-9977 will get you through to us. I mean, I
- 2:36Speaker 1: genuinely would tell you straightforward, I'm not optimistic. I hope
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm wrong, but I'm not optimistic. And I just, we
- 2:51Speaker 1: shall see. I mean, I definitely hope I'm wrong, but
- 2:54Speaker 1: I'm definitely not optimistic on this. How about you? I mean,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I just look around and I see a stock market
- 3:04Speaker 1: that's up and down. I mean, down big time. It's
- 3:09Speaker 1: just a volatile stock market these days. I see oil
- 3:14Speaker 1: prices that are up. I read a story yesterday where
- 3:19Speaker 1: Southwest Airlines was actually taking oil from or taking jet
- 3:25Speaker 1: fuel from I think, from the East Coast and trucking
- 3:29Speaker 1: it to the West Coast. I mean, there's major problems
- 3:34Speaker 1: out there as far as the oil supply is concerned,
- 3:37Speaker 1: as far as fuel is concerned. See, you might not
- 3:41Speaker 1: be aware of it, but we've been tapping into the
- 3:43Speaker 1: strategic oil reserves. We've been tapping into all these reserves.
- 3:47Speaker 1: China's cut their consumption. China's going into their reserves. We've
- 3:51Speaker 1: been going into them here in our country. They're at
- 3:54Speaker 1: the lowest level since, I think, 1985. So we've kind
- 3:59Speaker 1: of been supplementing, if you will, gas prices with the
- 4:05Speaker 1: Strategic Oil Reserve. Well, now you're getting fairly low with
- 4:11Speaker 1: the Strategic Oil Reserve. So now what do you do?
- 4:16Speaker 1: So now what do you do? I just thought it
- 4:18Speaker 1: was interesting yesterday when I was just talking about jet fuel.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And the problem that they were having on the West Coast,
- 4:24Speaker 1: so they were shipping some, as I said, Southwest from
- 4:29Speaker 1: the East Coast to the West Coast. Hmm. So they
- 4:37Speaker 1: say S & P 500 turns red, meaning it's down again,
- 4:40Speaker 1: as a result of Iran. And mounting chip stock losses.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So I'm just looking at this stuff. I don't see
- 4:52Speaker 1: anything positive. I wish I could. I just don't see anything.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I don't see anything positive. This is a mess. You
- 5:00Speaker 1: can't sit back. I mean, you got to Trump. This
- 5:02Speaker 1: was his decision. He owns it. He made this decision.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And I'm a broken record. Like I said to you,
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'm sure he thought this would be over much sooner
- 5:14Speaker 1: than Maybe he was deceived, whether that was by Netanyahu
- 5:17Speaker 1: or his real intelligence. I'm sure he thought this would
- 5:20Speaker 1: be over much sooner than it is, but it isn't.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And it continues to go on, continues to affect inflation,
- 5:31Speaker 1: stock markets, energy prices, with no end in sight. With
- 5:41Speaker 1: no end in sight. So we shall see. We shall see.
- 5:47Speaker 3: 330-729-9977.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Let me see. I think I'm going to start here.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You're on here.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Hello.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Hey, a couple things.
- 5:57Speaker 6: I wish you'd be more positive. Iran has called for
- 6:05Speaker 6: the destruction of the United States and Israel. They get
- 6:08Speaker 6: a nuclear weapon. What do you think would happen if
- 6:10Speaker 6: they dropped that in New York City?
- 6:14Speaker 1: I don't think that's even a possibility. I mean, let
- 6:18Speaker 1: me put it this way to you. Listen, I don't
- 6:22Speaker 1: buy into any of this stuff. It's okay if you
- 6:25Speaker 1: want to. I think the bunker buster actually did its job.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So I wasn't sitting up at night concerned about Iran
- 6:33Speaker 1: and a nuclear weapon with the United States, nor do
- 6:35Speaker 1: I think that they would use it on the United States.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's a foolish presumption to make
- 6:42Speaker 1: with the United States. We would destroy them, and they
- 6:44Speaker 1: know it.
- 6:46Speaker 6: If I went and bought a gun and openly said
- 6:48Speaker 6: I was going to come assassinate you, wouldn't that be
- 6:52Speaker 6: your obligation to come after me? You can't have another
- 6:55Speaker 6: country calling for the destruction of us and our ally
- 6:59Speaker 6: over there and not do nothing about it. He just
- 7:02Speaker 6: had the balls to stand up and do something about it.
- 7:04Speaker 1: How's it going? How's it going?
- 7:06Speaker 6: Well, it's not going like they want, but it'll come
- 7:10Speaker 6: out good in the end, you'll see.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 7:11Speaker 1: How far is Iran from the United States? Let's talk
- 7:14Speaker 1: about from a military strategy, as Bush would say, standpoint.
- 7:18Speaker 1: How easy is this going to be?
- 7:20Speaker 3: Let me back up some more.
- 7:23Speaker 7: How successful have we been in the Middle East?
- 7:33Speaker 6: Well, they've got the Abraham Accords. They've got a lot
- 7:36Speaker 6: of the Middle East countries.
- 7:39Speaker 1: How successful have the wars been in the Middle East?
- 7:42Speaker 1: And how successful have we been with the wars and
- 7:44Speaker 1: regime change in the Middle East?
- 7:48Speaker 6: Well, you tell me.
- 7:50Speaker 1: It's a disaster. I think I think we look at Afghanistan.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I mean, all you got to do is look at
- 7:57Speaker 1: all of them. I think they've been dismal failures for
- 7:59Speaker 1: seeing change and what we've done. And now let's take Afghanistan.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Let's see. We gave it back and they got it
- 8:07Speaker 1: better than they had it originally. And they kept all
- 8:09Speaker 1: of our equipments.
- 8:11Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Now, was that worth it? Yeah. Well, was that we're
- 8:14Speaker 1: dying for? Well, you know, I'm asking you because you're
- 8:20Speaker 1: the guy saying, let's, you know, he's got the balls
- 8:22Speaker 1: to do it. So all those kids that died over
- 8:24Speaker 1: there or lost arms and legs, what was the purpose
- 8:27Speaker 1: of it?
- 8:28Speaker 9: No, that's no good.
- 8:29Speaker 6: I'm just saying, I'm just saying they openly call for
- 8:32Speaker 6: our destruction.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I don't care what they say. I really don't care
- 8:35Speaker 1: what they talk. I don't believe that's a possibility at all.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Do you not believe that the United States... If they're
- 8:43Speaker 1: developing one, I think that the bunker buster was effective.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But by the way..
- 8:47Speaker 6: Well, what you think, but what information do you have
- 8:51Speaker 6: more than, you.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Know, Trump saying that apparently that didn't get it?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute. He told me it did.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Well, they thought it did, but apparently it didn't.
- 9:00Speaker 10: That's why they had to go back in.
- 9:01Speaker 11: Really?
- 9:02Speaker 1: Well, how do I know? How do you know that's true?
- 9:06Speaker 6: Apparently, you've got inside information. You're thinking it got it.
- 9:10Speaker 1: He told me it got it. It's all buried deep
- 9:12Speaker 1: down in the mountain. I mean, do you think North
- 9:16Speaker 1: Korea should have a nuclear weapon?
- 9:20Speaker 2: No, no.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Well, they do. What do you want to do about that?
- 9:27Speaker 6: You're just hurting us. You're hurting the upcoming election with
- 9:30Speaker 6: your attitude towards that.
- 9:32Speaker 1: No, I think I'm going to tell you right now,
- 9:34Speaker 1: Trump is hurting the upcoming election. And you want to
- 9:36Speaker 1: know why? Because the majority of people in the country
- 9:39Speaker 1: don't support this. And if you get high oil prices,
- 9:41Speaker 1: high gas prices and high inflation, it is the economy.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And he will lose.
- 9:48Speaker 6: When the fuel prices were high during the Biden administration.
- 9:51Speaker 12: Where was the outcry?
- 9:52Speaker 1: There was plenty of outcry. Incidentally, plenty of outcry from
- 9:55Speaker 1: the conservatives about how high they were and how low
- 9:58Speaker 1: they were under the Trump administration. There was plenty of
- 10:01Speaker 1: outcry over it.
- 10:02Speaker 6: All right, I'm done.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I mean, so, you know, it's a typical cheerleader. Oh,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you're going to hurt this. You're going to hurt that.
- 10:14Speaker 1: So I'm supposed to sit here and no matter what
- 10:16Speaker 1: Trump decides to do, I'm supposed to say I'm with
- 10:19Speaker 1: it 100%. I'm not to disagree with any decision he
- 10:24Speaker 1: makes or anything he does. Even though I voted for him,
- 10:31Speaker 1: and I certainly wouldn't vote for Harris, but I can
- 10:34Speaker 1: sit here and look at this and say, this is
- 10:35Speaker 1: a disaster. And this isn't going how he thought it
- 10:38Speaker 1: would go. And I would say to this caller, just
- 10:42Speaker 1: imagine if he hadn't gotten involved in this in the
- 10:44Speaker 1: first place, where do you think things would have been economically?
- 10:48Speaker 1: When we saw oil prices coming down, gas prices coming down,
- 10:52Speaker 1: inflation being reduced. All the reasons why he was elected.
- 10:57Speaker 1: When we saw that happening. All of that's now been erased.
- 11:06Speaker 1: How's that a good thing? And I wasn't contrary to
- 11:14Speaker 1: that caller. I'd be curious if that caller was up
- 11:16Speaker 1: at night before they made all of this stink about it.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Was he up at night scared that Iran was going
- 11:21Speaker 1: to come get him with a nuclear weapon? Because I
- 11:23Speaker 1: am not. Not with American intelligence. Not with the nuclear
- 11:27Speaker 1: weapons we have. I'm not even remotely concerned about it. Now, terrorism,
- 11:33Speaker 1: that's a whole different story. That's a whole different problem.
- 11:40Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 11:43Speaker 12: Hey, good afternoon. Yes.
- 11:47Speaker 13: I'm going to call you every dirty bird word that
- 11:49Speaker 13: I can think of, and I'm going to threaten to
- 11:51Speaker 13: kill you. So now, what does that leave out?
- 11:55Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 11:57Speaker 13: That's exactly right. The talk is the talk, but they're
- 12:01Speaker 13: not going to be able to make it walk. They
- 12:04Speaker 13: may have the stuff to do it with, but they
- 12:06Speaker 13: don't believe that they're just going to get up and
- 12:10Speaker 13: walk away.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Apparently..
- 12:12Speaker 13: They're going to get annihilated.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Apparently..
- 12:15Speaker 11: They want North Korea.
- 12:16Speaker 13: North Korea is the same way. But what is the
- 12:18Speaker 13: big rush with Iran wanting a nuclear bomb? Because the
- 12:22Speaker 13: state of Israel has one. So now they want one.
- 12:26Speaker 13: Same thing happened with India and Pakistan.
- 12:29Speaker 1: That's true.
- 12:31Speaker 13: So, I mean, you're sitting here, you've got these people
- 12:32Speaker 13: running around here who say that Trump is doing the
- 12:36Speaker 13: right thing. And I'm sorry, but he's not. I'm in
- 12:41Speaker 13: agreeance with you. He had no plan. He just thought
- 12:43Speaker 13: the American could not be touched or hit, and they're
- 12:46Speaker 13: getting hit. And the worst part about it is we
- 12:49Speaker 13: have American young people who are dying because our heads, Jeff,
- 12:56Speaker 13: did not set it up to protect them the best
- 13:00Speaker 13: he could.
- 13:00Speaker 10: He didn't do nothing.
- 13:02Speaker 13: He left them out there with big old zero marks
- 13:05Speaker 13: on them to get shot at.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Well..
- 13:09Speaker 1: Our casualties have been relatively few, I mean, in all reality.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I'm just looking at the big picture of this, and
- 13:16Speaker 1: I go back to say it. Trump thought he could
- 13:19Speaker 1: go in and do this and be over relatively quickly.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I think he was sold that bill of goods by
- 13:23Speaker 1: Netanyahu and Israel. We're going to go in. They want
- 13:27Speaker 1: regime change. You're going to bring them to their knees
- 13:29Speaker 1: right away. This will be over in a month. As
- 13:32Speaker 1: a matter of fact, they gave you every indication that
- 13:34Speaker 1: that was the case, did they not? And then Trump
- 13:37Speaker 1: kept saying, oh, we got them where we need them.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They're going to sign a– they want to make a deal.
- 13:41Speaker 1: They want to make a deal. Did you hear him
- 13:42Speaker 1: say that week after week after week on how they
- 13:46Speaker 1: wanted to make a deal? But they never made a deal.
- 13:48Speaker 1: And then, of course, then we got the memorandum of understanding,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and that didn't work out. So now we're right back
- 13:57Speaker 1: to bombing them again. thinking, okay, now this time, and
- 14:03Speaker 1: let's be realistic, we bombed the living hell out of
- 14:05Speaker 1: them all along. Now this time when we do it,
- 14:07Speaker 1: this time it's going to work.
- 14:09Speaker 13: Well, I hope to God you're right.
- 14:11Speaker 1: No, that's what he says. I hope he's right as well.
- 14:15Speaker 13: But you have to kind of watch yourself, because pretty
- 14:19Speaker 13: soon you're going to be threatened with anti-Semitism because of
- 14:23Speaker 13: what you're saying about Netanyahu. And the thing of it is,
- 14:26Speaker 13: is that's not true. I know that's not true about you.
- 14:29Speaker 13: You just picked him out saying what he did and
- 14:33Speaker 13: led Trump into this.
- 14:34Speaker 1: That's correct.
- 14:34Speaker 13: That one Jewish person.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Well, no, I'm just trying to say that's where that's
- 14:40Speaker 1: why I believe Trump reversed himself and why he went
- 14:42Speaker 1: into he didn't want like the Middle East. He didn't
- 14:44Speaker 1: want regime change and he didn't want these endless wars. Well,
- 14:47Speaker 1: guess what? He now started one. And all these people
- 14:52Speaker 1: who act like it's easy. I mean, Iran's what, 6,000
- 14:56Speaker 1: miles away from us? I mean, it's a huge distance
- 14:59Speaker 1: away from, strategically away from the United States of America. Strategically,
- 15:04Speaker 1: look how far away it is. You think it's an
- 15:07Speaker 1: imminent threat to the United States?
- 15:09Speaker 13: Well, you know something? Everybody in the back of their mind,
- 15:12Speaker 13: including yours, including mine, and anybody that's got any brains
- 15:16Speaker 13: at all, remember 9-11 and how that played out. And
- 15:21Speaker 13: everybody's concern about that is what could happen. But if
- 15:24Speaker 13: that's the case, America's going to come back together, and
- 15:28Speaker 13: they're going to go after the people and the country
- 15:31Speaker 13: that did it.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Well, 9-11 is a whole different story as far as
- 15:36Speaker 1: we knew those people were in this country. I mean,
- 15:39Speaker 1: it really was an intelligence failure in America not to
- 15:43Speaker 1: have those people apprehended. Would you not agree? I mean,
- 15:46Speaker 1: I say 9-11 could have been prevented. Stand by for
- 15:48Speaker 1: a minute. I'll come right back to you in a minute.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Hang on. I'll get right back to him in a minute.
- 15:52Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Hey, Ron from WKBN. And from NewsRadio
- 15:59Speaker 1: 570 WKBN. What's up? As I said, I think it's
- 16:03Speaker 1: a mistake from the very beginning, and I don't know,
- 16:06Speaker 1: if you keep doing the same thing and expecting different results,
- 16:10Speaker 1: would they say that's insanity, right? I mean, we've been
- 16:12Speaker 1: bombing all along, and we just continue to do that,
- 16:16Speaker 1: and we expect different results. Well, I hope it happens,
- 16:19Speaker 1: but I'm not optimistic.
- 16:22Speaker 13: What bothers me is there's no clear plan. No clear
- 16:27Speaker 13: plan of what we're going to do and how we're
- 16:29Speaker 13: going to do it and how we're going to accomplish it.
- 16:31Speaker 13: But if I may switch the subject to a couple
- 16:35Speaker 13: more things. On your show, you have a few people
- 16:39Speaker 13: who call up and say that Trump has business sense.
- 16:44Speaker 12: Now, we're Americans.
- 16:46Speaker 13: We're free to say what we think and what we feel.
- 16:49Speaker 13: I would request strongly that these people honestly look at
- 16:57Speaker 13: Trump's business ventures and to see how many failed. Take
- 17:04Speaker 13: a look at Trump's past and how many people he
- 17:07Speaker 13: left hanging on his business ventures. And then if you
- 17:14Speaker 13: honestly look at that and then still have the complete 100%
- 17:18Speaker 13: or even 50% feeling that he was a good businessman, okay, fine,
- 17:24Speaker 13: I'll accept that because we're Americans. But I can't see it.
- 17:29Speaker 13: And I don't see anybody else. I cannot understand why
- 17:32Speaker 13: these people... And these people are not uneducated because they
- 17:38Speaker 13: can talk plain and they can use three-syllable words. So
- 17:44Speaker 13: it's telling me that somewhere down the line, in my belief,
- 17:49Speaker 13: in my belief alone, that they weren't really paying attention.
- 17:58Speaker 13: That's my feeling.
- 17:59Speaker 1: All right. Duly noted, Your Honor.
- 18:02Speaker 13: And Vic Cerami, I'm sorry, I don't mean to mess
- 18:06Speaker 13: up his name. I'm not doing that on purpose. If
- 18:08Speaker 13: I had it right in front of me, I'd be
- 18:09Speaker 13: able to say it right.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Vivek, well, whatever.
- 18:12Speaker 13: You know where he was the 4th of July?
- 18:15Speaker 1: No, I do not.
- 18:16Speaker 13: He was in France.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:19Speaker 13: So, I mean, if he's so hot on America, why
- 18:22Speaker 13: wasn't he here trying to boast up his... vote here
- 18:27Speaker 13: in the state of Ohio. Why is he going to...
- 18:30Speaker 13: He's talking about abolishing Medicaid here in the state of
- 18:37Speaker 13: Ohio because he said there's so much fraud and voter problems. Well,
- 18:43Speaker 13: guess what? When Trump said that, our representatives here in
- 18:50Speaker 13: the state, LaRusso, come out and said, that's a lie.
- 18:54Speaker 13: This is not happening. But yes, we do have some
- 18:58Speaker 13: sort of fraud in the Medicaid system, and we're getting
- 19:01Speaker 13: into that. But the fact that a matter here for
- 19:04Speaker 13: Trump to come out and say the state of Ohio
- 19:08Speaker 13: is a mess.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Well, I don't think it's a mess. Really, I think
- 19:12Speaker 1: how we do our elections in Ohio is pretty secure
- 19:15Speaker 1: as far as we don't just mail out absentee ballots
- 19:18Speaker 1: to everybody. You have to show an ID to go vote.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I mean, actually, Ohio is one of the premier systems
- 19:24Speaker 1: when it comes to voting. and how our system is done,
- 19:27Speaker 1: copied by Florida, incidentally. So I think we've got a
- 19:30Speaker 1: lot to be proud of in how we do it
- 19:31Speaker 1: here in Ohio. Is there the possibility that there's always
- 19:35Speaker 1: a small amount of fraud? Absolutely. But I don't think
- 19:38Speaker 1: there's any massive aspect of fraud. However, when it comes
- 19:42Speaker 1: to Medicaid, I think that there's a lot of fraud
- 19:44Speaker 1: involved in that. And you've got to sit back and say, well,
- 19:47Speaker 1: wait a minute. Where was Mike DeWine? And he is
- 19:50Speaker 1: a Republican and surrounded by the auditor and all the
- 19:54Speaker 1: executives that were Republican. This fraud that was taking place
- 19:57Speaker 1: on Medicaid in the state of Ohio happened under Republican watch.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I'm just saying so. So let's take a look at
- 20:04Speaker 1: all of that. And it seems to me, as I
- 20:06Speaker 1: sit here right now, Mike DeWine doesn't seem that fired
- 20:09Speaker 1: up to go after this fraud of billions of dollars.
- 20:14Speaker 13: I don't know about that because a lot of the
- 20:16Speaker 13: fraud that's being caught, a lot of the fraud that's
- 20:22Speaker 13: been seen and gone after are from the state of
- 20:26Speaker 13: Ohio's group. The state of Ohio is doing it. It
- 20:30Speaker 13: only was brought up because of things that are happening
- 20:33Speaker 13: in the whole country.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Absolutely, but it needs to be looked at. And we
- 20:38Speaker 1: have the same problem with the Somalians here in Ohio
- 20:40Speaker 1: that they do in Minnesota. And so who dropped the ball?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Who wasn't investigating it? Who let it happen? You'll never
- 20:48Speaker 1: get the money back.
- 20:49Speaker 13: You'll never get the money back. That's what I've been
- 20:52Speaker 13: saying for quite a few years. Quite a few years about,
- 20:56Speaker 13: go ahead, make your government less..
- 20:58Speaker 1: Right. All I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter
- 21:00Speaker 1: if it's Republicans or Democrats, Minnesota or Ohio. The people
- 21:04Speaker 1: that should have been looking and verifying this stuff and
- 21:06Speaker 1: doing some follow up obviously weren't doing it in either
- 21:09Speaker 1: one of the states. I got to pause for the headlines.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Thanks for your call. I'll be right back. News Radio
- 21:17Speaker 1: 570 WKVN.
- 21:18Speaker 14: Deer Park woman is headed to prison after pleading guilty
- 21:24Speaker 14: to shooting her 12 year old son.
- 21:26Speaker 15: Reports say that in January of 2025, Breasia Stroud shot
- 21:30Speaker 15: the boy at a location on Glenway Avenue before turning
- 21:33Speaker 15: the gun on herself. The boy suffered injuries that investigators
- 21:37Speaker 15: describe as catastrophic. Stroud has been sentenced to serve 10
- 21:40Speaker 15: to 15 years in prison for attempted murder. Bond is
- 21:44Speaker 15: being set at $ 1 million for a Michigan man charged
- 21:47Speaker 15: in a fatal shooting at a Put-in-Bay bar. The shooting
- 21:50Speaker 15: happened early Thursday morning at Mr. Ed's Bar and Grill
- 21:53Speaker 15: on Delaware Avenue. 21-year-old Colton Smith is charged with murder.
- 21:58Speaker 15: Miles Garrett's Medina County home has hit the market. The
- 22:01Speaker 15: former Cleveland Browns star, who was traded to the Rams
- 22:04Speaker 15: in June, is selling his five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Wadsworth
- 22:08Speaker 15: for $ 2. 1 million.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I'm Andy Betts.

- 22:20Speaker 1: Never sounded so good. A to Z dependable services.
- 22:24Speaker 17: Now, Ron Verb. On NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Good afternoon. 335
- 22:30Speaker 17: in the afternoon. NewsRadio 570 WKBN. It's 79 degrees. Listen,
- 22:34Speaker 17: I hope I'm wrong about all of this.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Kind of stuff. I'm just not optimistic about this entire situation.
- 22:41Speaker 1: And as I've said to you numerous times, I'm not
- 22:44Speaker 1: going to sit here and be a Trump cheerleader. No
- 22:47Speaker 1: more than I'd be a– you've got to call balls
- 22:50Speaker 1: and strikes as you see them. And the things that
- 22:54Speaker 1: many of you found frustrating when you had Democrats that
- 22:56Speaker 1: saw nothing wrong or no bad decisions that the Democrats
- 22:59Speaker 1: made supported everything. You want to go down that same
- 23:03Speaker 1: road and make yourself guilty of the same charge? Oh,
- 23:05Speaker 1: everything that Trump does is great? Well, I don't think
- 23:11Speaker 1: that that's the case, nor do I think that that's
- 23:14Speaker 1: a wise way to go. And, you know, I'm just
- 23:22Speaker 1: saying he reversed himself on this, and I don't know
- 23:25Speaker 1: why he did that. And the bunker buster, and it's
- 23:30Speaker 1: buried in a mountain, and I think it probably is,
- 23:33Speaker 1: and it was very successful. I don't know why the reversal.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But I suspect not a single one of you were
- 23:41Speaker 1: laying awake at night, unable to sleep, fearful of Iran
- 23:45Speaker 1: with a nuclear bomb. I don't think you were fearful
- 23:50Speaker 1: of that, certainly just based on the distance that we
- 23:53Speaker 1: are away from Iran, but knowing full well that they
- 23:55Speaker 1: know that we would annihilate them. Now, that might be
- 24:02Speaker 1: a different story about people in the Middle East. But
- 24:06Speaker 1: then again, as the one caller said, well, why is
- 24:08Speaker 1: it okay for this country to have one and this
- 24:10Speaker 1: country to have one and this country not to have one? And,
- 24:14Speaker 1: you know, there's that philosophy that people say, well, who's
- 24:16Speaker 1: the United States to tell a country of 93 million
- 24:18Speaker 1: people what they can and can't have? You can't do that.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Didn't do it in North Korea or Pakistan or India
- 24:27Speaker 1: or some of these other places. Remember, Pakistan was where
- 24:31Speaker 1: they were hiding Osama bin Laden. So you can sit
- 24:37Speaker 1: back and you can look at it. A lot of
- 24:39Speaker 1: times I think many of these countries want it because
- 24:42Speaker 1: they feel it's a deterrent. And maybe it is. But anyway,
- 24:50Speaker 1: we are where we are. And I just don't see
- 24:53Speaker 1: a good way out. I don't see any... I don't
- 24:57Speaker 1: see a successful way out. And I said this numerous
- 24:59Speaker 1: times to you guys, and I say it again. It's
- 25:03Speaker 1: a whole different part of the world. They don't think
- 25:05Speaker 1: like you do. You know, I learned this from our
- 25:09Speaker 1: eldest son who tour after tour after tour was in
- 25:12Speaker 1: the Middle East. Was right there. His mother has a
- 25:25Speaker 1: picture of him sitting in Saddam Hussein's throne when that
- 25:31Speaker 1: was dealt with. And boy, he taught us something very valuable.
- 25:38Speaker 1: He says, people over here just don't understand the culture,
- 25:44Speaker 1: and it's just different. They don't necessarily want to be
- 25:49Speaker 1: like you. You think they're longing to be just like you?
- 25:53Speaker 1: They're not. This has gone on for as long as
- 25:56Speaker 1: time has begun. They got a different religion, a different philosophy,
- 26:00Speaker 1: grew up differently. Everything's different. The Sunnis and the Shiites. Hell,
- 26:09Speaker 1: I remember studying the Sunnis and the Shiites when I
- 26:12Speaker 1: was in college that long ago. You know, this group
- 26:17Speaker 1: likes that group and this group doesn't like that group anyway.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You say, well, they're going to turn against the Supreme
- 26:26Speaker 1: Leader and there's going to be an overthrow. Well, I'm
- 26:32Speaker 1: sure there's some people who support that. But is it
- 26:37Speaker 1: the vast majority of people? I don't know. Seems to
- 26:41Speaker 1: me when you see the huge turnout of the funeral
- 26:43Speaker 1: of the Supreme Leader, that would give you an indication
- 26:46Speaker 1: that that might not be the case. You know, you
- 26:48Speaker 1: can read it many ways. They might be more and
- 26:52Speaker 1: more united and pissed as countrymen as their country is
- 26:56Speaker 1: being attacked and their people are being killed. I don't know.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Does that win friends and influence people with the United
- 27:03Speaker 1: States if they're living in a country and they see
- 27:06Speaker 1: their people, their country being destroyed, their people being killed?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Or does that unite the country as a whole against
- 27:14Speaker 1: the United States? Well, we really don't know that now,
- 27:18Speaker 1: do we? So you don't see any major uprisings and
- 27:25Speaker 1: people say, well, you don't see any major uprisings because, well,
- 27:28Speaker 1: only the government has the guns. And that's probably true, too.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You start an uprising and they shoot six people in
- 27:38Speaker 1: the head and the uprising is over real fast if
- 27:40Speaker 1: you don't have any weapons to counter it. But I
- 27:43Speaker 1: don't know if the majority of people are ready to
- 27:46Speaker 1: overthrow the governments. And you don't know if that's true
- 27:51Speaker 1: or false. It just seems when I see all these
- 27:53Speaker 1: people showing up for the Supreme Leader's funeral or whatever
- 27:57Speaker 1: they want to call it, that's a hell of a
- 27:59Speaker 1: lot of people. So I'm not saying that they're in
- 28:07Speaker 1: any good shape at all. I mean, they're getting the
- 28:09Speaker 1: hell knocked out of them, too. But they might just
- 28:16Speaker 1: have a philosophy. We're going to sit and we're going
- 28:17Speaker 1: to wait this out. And you at some point are
- 28:20Speaker 1: going to leave and go home. And you're going to
- 28:25Speaker 1: worry about the midterm elections and things can change dramatically
- 28:28Speaker 1: once the midterms happen. You know, they're sitting there. Iran's
- 28:35Speaker 1: sitting there saying, well, we got some weapons here too.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You haven't wiped us out. We can definitely– remember early
- 28:41Speaker 1: on when they said we can definitely tank your economy
- 28:43Speaker 1: because we can change the oil situation real fast. So,
- 28:52Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know that we understand. It's clear
- 28:55Speaker 1: to me they don't want– in many of cases, they
- 28:59Speaker 1: view us as infidels, as we're bad news. Not that
- 29:07Speaker 1: they want to be like us. So we shall see.
- 29:12Speaker 1: That's why I say it just seems to me that
- 29:16Speaker 1: what's the way out now? What's the answer? Well, we're
- 29:20Speaker 1: going to bomb them some more. Well, we bombed them
- 29:22Speaker 1: a lot. Now we're bombing them some more. Now is
- 29:24Speaker 1: this going to bring them to their knees and make
- 29:26Speaker 1: them surrender and throw up the white flag? And if
- 29:31Speaker 1: it doesn't, then what do you do? And where do
- 29:36Speaker 1: you go? I mean, there's so many things to put forth.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I mean, if it's a mistake from the very beginning,
- 29:45Speaker 1: do you just continue on? Or at some point, do
- 29:47Speaker 1: you say, hey, Israel, we're done. You're on your own.
- 29:57Speaker 1: But the strait was open before all this happened. Things
- 29:59Speaker 1: were taking place. Now you don't just have a problem
- 30:01Speaker 1: with oil. You have a problem with fertilizer. And that
- 30:04Speaker 1: affects the food supply in this country and in other
- 30:10Speaker 1: countries because it becomes so expensive and farmers are not
- 30:14Speaker 1: able to afford it and crop yields. There's long-term effects
- 30:19Speaker 1: to that and other chemicals as well in oil. Like
- 30:23Speaker 1: I said, the oil prices have been somewhat– Disguised because
- 30:28Speaker 1: you're draining your strategic oil reserve. China has done it
- 30:32Speaker 1: and cut their consumption. We have done it. Well, what
- 30:35Speaker 1: happens when we're at these lows? Now what do you
- 30:39Speaker 1: do when that's done? You say, okay, now what do
- 30:44Speaker 1: you do? Now we're at five bucks a gallon or
- 30:46Speaker 1: six bucks a gallon or whatever. Now you've got inflation.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Now everything costs more. And I just don't sense that
- 30:58Speaker 1: that's a good direction to be in right now. And
- 31:02Speaker 1: it's still not resolved. So it is genuinely a mess.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Think of, as I say this often, think of how
- 31:12Speaker 1: much better this country would have been if he would
- 31:14Speaker 1: have never gotten involved in this in the first place.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Because gas was around, what, $ 2. 50 a gallon? Oil prices
- 31:21Speaker 1: were coming down, gas prices were down, inflation was coming down.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Everything was going in the right direction. And in the
- 31:27Speaker 1: blink of an eye, by doing this one move, everything
- 31:30Speaker 1: has reversed and been a disaster. And what does inflation
- 31:40Speaker 1: do when you have high inflation? It devalues your dollars.
- 31:45Speaker 1: So those people that are retired and say, well, listen,
- 31:49Speaker 1: I got my half a million or whatever in retirement. Well,
- 31:53Speaker 1: now it doesn't buy as much as it used to.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Or maybe some of it's in stocks and it's declining
- 31:58Speaker 1: because the market goes down. Or it takes more money
- 32:01Speaker 1: to buy something. It takes $ 50, 000 now to buy that
- 32:06Speaker 1: vehicle that used to be $ 35, 000. It costs you... $ 250, 000
- 32:15Speaker 1: to buy the house that used to be $ 175, 000 or more.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I mean, so when you look around at all this
- 32:23Speaker 1: inflation and how it affects everything by sucking up more
- 32:27Speaker 1: dollars so that your community says, well, we need to
- 32:31Speaker 1: tax you more because it costs twice as much for
- 32:33Speaker 1: a fire truck. We need to tax you more because
- 32:37Speaker 1: a police car costs us $ 100, 000 by $ 75, 000 or so
- 32:39Speaker 1: by the time you outfit it. We got to tax
- 32:47Speaker 1: you more because the snowplow truck, you got to order
- 32:50Speaker 1: two years in advance. And when you get it, it
- 32:52Speaker 1: costs a whole bunch more. You see how it's just
- 32:55Speaker 1: sucking up money? So we need to raise taxes so
- 32:59Speaker 1: we can provide these services. And then you're paying more
- 33:02Speaker 1: for everything else that you look around. Your electricity is doubled.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Your food prices are up. Your insurance is up. And
- 33:13Speaker 1: if oil goes up, 100, 120 a barrel, 130 a barrel,
- 33:20Speaker 1: you got big problems. And diesel can be a big
- 33:26Speaker 1: problem because that's how everything's trucked. The farmer's tractor, jet fuel.
- 33:35Speaker 1: So travel tickets go up, costs more to go on
- 33:39Speaker 1: a vacation or a business trip. I mean, it just
- 33:41Speaker 1: sucks your money. Inflation makes everyone poorer. is what I
- 33:46Speaker 1: like to say. Inflation makes all of you poorer. Whether
- 33:52Speaker 1: you're working or retired, it doesn't matter. Your dollars buy less.
- 34:00Speaker 1: And if more inflation comes back as a result of this,
- 34:03Speaker 1: then you become poor on top of it. Inflation's a
- 34:06Speaker 1: terrible thing. Just some thoughts. So what's the next strategy, Mr. President?
- 34:21Speaker 1: If the bombing, you know, we're bombing every night. Now,
- 34:24Speaker 1: if this doesn't work now, what are we going to do? Now,
- 34:28Speaker 1: where do you go? What's the next plan? And what
- 34:36Speaker 1: do we do when you're done tapping the strategic oil reserves?
- 34:41Speaker 1: What's the plan after that? What's the plan on getting
- 34:45Speaker 1: the Strait open? and getting ships through it again. Because
- 34:52Speaker 1: none of it's working out. And I just say, listen,
- 34:56Speaker 1: as a guy that voted for Trump, I just say,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I keep looking around. And he kept certainly deceiving me
- 35:00Speaker 1: to say the least at all. They want to deal,
- 35:03Speaker 1: they're on their knees. Week after week, I kept hearing
- 35:05Speaker 1: this stuff. And nothing materialized. And we have that memorandum
- 35:10Speaker 1: of understanding. And well, that didn't last very long either.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So now we're right back to this. So We shall see.
- 35:21Speaker 1: But in the meantime, stocks are up, stocks are down,
- 35:24Speaker 1: dramatic falls. Inflation is up. Gas prices are up. I
- 35:32Speaker 1: just think it's just an absolute disaster. You're on the air.
- 35:37Speaker 18: That first caller has been calling your show every week
- 35:41Speaker 18: for five months now, saying that if Iran threatened to
- 35:45Speaker 18: nuke the U.S., wouldn't you invade them, Ron? He needs
- 35:50Speaker 18: to enlist in the military and go to the Persian
- 35:53Speaker 18: Gulf to defend America, but I bet he'll have lame
- 35:57Speaker 18: excuses for not serving. And Iran has been two weeks
- 36:00Speaker 18: away from acquiring a nuclear weapon for 40 years.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that is true.
- 36:07Speaker 18: And Israel is threatening nuclear allies if we stop funding them.
- 36:13Speaker 18: They told the leaders of Europe that our fighters can
- 36:16Speaker 18: reach every capital of Europe. And Chris Hedges, an American Jew,
- 36:21Speaker 18: says Israel has repeatedly threatened to use their nuclear arsenal
- 36:27Speaker 18: against any country that interferes with their land-grabbing expansion goals. Now,
- 36:34Speaker 18: the patriotic Congressman John Duncan says that the great majority
- 36:39Speaker 18: of Americans want Washington to stop the war against Iran.
- 36:44Speaker 18: But he said almost every congressperson just wants more money
- 36:49Speaker 18: from the Zionist lobby. Now, today, there's a tremendous market
- 36:55Speaker 18: uncertainty concerning inflation, tariffs, and the weakness in AI stocks.
- 37:02Speaker 18: And there's a process called the Haber-Bosch process that feeds
- 37:07Speaker 18: half of the world, and it is going offline because
- 37:12Speaker 18: natural gas... The feedstock for nitrogen fertilizer is no longer
- 37:18Speaker 18: flowing from its best sources. And diesel shortages also cripple agriculture.
- 37:25Speaker 18: Without diesel, food can't be harvested or transported. And diesel
- 37:31Speaker 18: and jet fuel prices have been rising faster than gas. And,
- 37:38Speaker 18: you know, Ron, let me see the headline. Okay. Dow
- 37:44Speaker 18: was way down, but Dow's in positive territory now. Guess why?
- 37:50Speaker 18: Because of reports that Pakistan is pushing for new U.S.-Iran talks.
- 37:59Speaker 18: I mean, what in the hell is going on in
- 38:02Speaker 18: Wall Street? They haven't figured out by now that, you know,
- 38:06Speaker 18: what are they doing, manipulating the market? Oh, yeah, Pakistan's
- 38:11Speaker 18: pushing for new U.S.-Iran talks. Does that mean Chuck Schumer
- 38:15Speaker 18: and Donald Trump and Mike Johnson and Barron Trump all
- 38:21Speaker 18: bought stocks right before that announcement? I think that's what's
- 38:25Speaker 18: going on. And Trump's targeting..
- 38:30Speaker 1: Here's a story from yesterday, Frank. Southwest Airlines hired a
- 38:33Speaker 1: ship this spring to send jet fuel from Texas to California,
- 38:37Speaker 1: where prices are much higher and concerns had grown about supply.
- 38:41Speaker 1: The chief financial officer said it was the first for
- 38:44Speaker 1: the Dallas airline. It brought like a week's supply to
- 38:47Speaker 1: the West Coast at a time when supply was most constricted,
- 38:51Speaker 1: when it was most at risk. The ship, which left
- 38:53Speaker 1: from Houston and went through the Panama Canal, arrived May
- 38:57Speaker 1: 28th in Los Angeles and had about 12.6 million gallons aboard,
- 39:01Speaker 1: Southwest said. For context, Southwest used 564 million gallons of
- 39:06Speaker 1: jet fuel in the last quarter. Stand by for a minute.
- 39:12Speaker 1: This is Bill Wills with Michael Claven, senior of the News,
- 39:16Speaker 1: Weather and Talk Station 570 WKBN. And Ron Verb, it's
- 39:21Speaker 1: 3.56 in the afternoon.
- 39:23Speaker 13: Where to begin?
- 39:28Speaker 12: I know.
- 39:29Speaker 1: It is where to begin. I mean, because, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: you could very easily, as we draw down our strategic
- 39:35Speaker 1: oil reserves, I mean, listen, we could only speculate. You
- 39:39Speaker 1: could have oil prices easily go to $ 120 a barrel
- 39:41Speaker 1: or more. and the effects that come from that. You
- 39:46Speaker 1: have bond yields that are at 4.7%, and they're saying
- 39:50Speaker 1: if you hit 5%, we can no longer service the debt.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Does that ring a bell with you?
- 39:55Speaker 18: Yeah, one of the financial headlines today was the bond
- 40:00Speaker 18: market has been unusually quiet, but a lot of interest
- 40:05Speaker 18: rate analysts said this could be the calm before the storm.
- 40:11Speaker 18: before we see big increases in interest rates. And you're right, Ron,
- 40:17Speaker 18: how can we service the debt? Our only choice is
- 40:23Speaker 18: going to have to be for the Fed to start
- 40:26Speaker 18: buying these bonds when they mature, because nobody else will
- 40:31Speaker 18: buy them. And China has told their big banks, don't
- 40:35Speaker 18: buy American treasury debt anymore. Start buying gold.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I mean, in all reality, there's an economic mess that
- 40:44Speaker 1: is simmering.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Agree?
- 40:46Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 40:47Speaker 1: I mean, no one can be certain, but oil can
- 40:51Speaker 1: very easily and very quickly go to $ 100 to $ 120
- 40:55Speaker 1: to $ 150 a barrel. I hope not. I hope I'm wrong.
- 40:59Speaker 1: But if it does, that's economic disaster. And I don't
- 41:04Speaker 1: think people understand bond yields. If they go to 5%,
- 41:07Speaker 1: we can't service the debt.
- 41:09Speaker 18: Well, the uncertainty isn't just in Wall Street. It's all
- 41:14Speaker 18: over the world. Stock markets are volatile all over the world.
- 41:20Speaker 18: China has the biggest strategic petroleum reserve in the world.
- 41:25Speaker 1: And they're drawing theirs down.
- 41:27Speaker 18: They're drawing theirs down. And Israel has the largest... China
- 41:34Speaker 18: also has, I think, the largest fertilizer strategic reserve. But
- 41:41Speaker 18: Israel has the largest... fertilizer strategic reserve in terms of
- 41:48Speaker 18: their population's consumption of fertilizer. They've been planning for this
- 41:54Speaker 18: war for 10 years now. China saw it coming. Israel
- 41:58Speaker 18: knew it was coming because they're the ones that started it.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I've got to tell you, I'm surprised to see it coming,
- 42:04Speaker 1: and I'll tell you why after this. Looking to upgrade

- 42:56Speaker 19: Taylor Farms is out with an update regarding their lettuce
- 42:59Speaker 19: in the midst of the current cyclosporiasis outbreak. The company
- 43:02Speaker 19: says they have suspended sourcing and production of iceberg lettuce
- 43:05Speaker 19: in central Mexico. Taylor Farms previously issued a voluntary recall.
- 43:09Speaker 19: As of July 19th, the FDA says there have been
- 43:12Speaker 19: no positive cyclospora results associated with the company. The outbreak
- 43:16Speaker 19: has spread to nine states, with Michigan reporting the most cases,
- 43:19Speaker 19: nearly 8,200. Today, the DOJ announced 11 indictments in the

- 43:37Speaker 19: and were connected with another found in San Antonio.
- 43:40Speaker 20: There was one individual inside that then fell out of
- 43:42Speaker 20: the car. They left that individual for dead there by
- 43:46Speaker 20: the tracks in San Antonio, closed the door to the container.
- 43:50Speaker 20: and sent the train on its way, the train ultimately
- 43:53Speaker 20: ending up in Laredo, Texas, where the other six bodies

- 45:28Speaker 19: Former Dallas QB Tony Romo was arrested just after 6.15

- 45:36Speaker 19: report states Romo performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
- 45:40Speaker 19: He was booked and released around 11 p.m. ABC News
- 45:43Speaker 19: has reached out to Romo's reps for comment. He's scheduled
- 45:45Speaker 19: to appear in court September 21st. Well, this weekend, FDA
- 45:50Speaker 19: panel is discussing whether people can access peptides. Peptides are
- 45:53Speaker 19: substances getting major traction on social media where influencers claim
- 45:57Speaker 19: their health benefits. But no concrete data says using or
- 46:00Speaker 19: injecting peptides can lead to better health outcomes. The talks
- 46:04Speaker 19: include whether the peptides can be purchased at pharmacies with
- 46:06Speaker 19: a prescription. ABC News medical contributor Dr.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Alok Patel.
- 46:10Speaker 23: So essentially what the FDA panel is trying to do
- 46:13Speaker 23: is basically put peptides on the 503A bulk compounding list.
- 46:18Speaker 1: That does not mean FDA approved. That's an important distinguish
- 46:22Speaker 1: for the public.
- 46:22Speaker 23: What this means is that the raw ingredients can be
- 46:25Speaker 23: legally made by compounding pharmacies, and then a physician may
- 46:28Speaker 23: be able to prescribe from the compounding pharmacy.
- 46:35Speaker 19: R & B singer Nibia has shared her leukemia diagnosis

- 46:44Speaker 19: diagnosed earlier this year and is grateful it was not blastoma.
- 46:49Speaker 19: I'm Stephanie Officer, ABC News.
- 47:00Speaker 1: When you said about being surprised that this happens, I'm
- 47:05Speaker 1: surprised because it went against everything Trump said that he
- 47:08Speaker 1: believed in and supported. So I'm surprised by this action
- 47:12Speaker 1: as well because he reversed himself.
- 47:15Speaker 18: Yeah, he ran as the peace president.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Well, he said we shouldn't get bogged down in the
- 47:19Speaker 1: Middle East and forever wars and we should get out
- 47:22Speaker 1: of it. And he did a total reversal. And then
- 47:25Speaker 1: he reversed himself when he said, the bunker buster, that's it.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Mission accomplished. See you later. And I believe it probably
- 47:31Speaker 1: was accomplished, quite frankly. And then he got involved in
- 47:35Speaker 1: this situation. And let me just ask you some questions,
- 47:38Speaker 1: some yes or no questions. I sincerely believe that he
- 47:41Speaker 1: thought this would be over relatively quickly. Would you agree?
- 47:44Speaker 24: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 18: He said within two weeks, that's when Mossad and then
- 47:48Speaker 18: Yahoo told him. That lasts longer than two weeks.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Right, or maybe a month, and that wasn't the case,
- 47:56Speaker 1: and that there wasn't this gigantic uprising or any of
- 48:00Speaker 1: that kind of stuff that he was led to believe.
- 48:03Speaker 1: And now when you look at the situation, I'm asking you,
- 48:07Speaker 1: what's the way out? Where do we go from here? Well,
- 48:15Speaker 1: the way out is— What should we do is what
- 48:17Speaker 1: I'm asking you.
- 48:19Speaker 18: Here's what we have to do. The Israel-owned Congress is
- 48:23Speaker 18: about to pass two laws. One merges the U.S. military
- 48:27Speaker 18: with Israel, and the other makes Americans who criticize Israel
- 48:32Speaker 18: to be criminals. We need to stop funding Israel. We
- 48:36Speaker 18: need to get AIPAC to register as a foreign lobby.
- 48:40Speaker 18: And we need voter election integrity. I don't know if
- 48:46Speaker 18: I can trust the elections.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Okay, I don't disagree with anything that you just said.
- 48:51Speaker 1: But my question is, what's the way out of the
- 48:53Speaker 1: situation right now that we are in Iran? I mean,
- 48:58Speaker 1: what do you do? Do you say to Israel, we're done,
- 49:01Speaker 1: you're on your own, see you later, this was a
- 49:03Speaker 1: mistake and we're leaving? What do you do now?
- 49:05Speaker 10: Absolutely.
- 49:06Speaker 18: If I was Trump or the dictator of America, I
- 49:10Speaker 18: would declare peace and not only bring hope All the
- 49:14Speaker 18: troops home from the Persian Gulf close all 858 military bases.
- 49:20Speaker 18: bases all over the world and bring the troops home,
- 49:23Speaker 18: and that would drastically cut the war budget because we
- 49:27Speaker 18: can't afford war anymore. It's bankrupting us. We're involved in
- 49:34Speaker 18: war on Israel's behalf. not to defend the American people
- 49:39Speaker 18: from harm.
- 49:39Speaker 1: In other words, what you're saying is we attacked them,
- 49:42Speaker 1: them being Iran, they didn't attack us.
- 49:45Speaker 18: That's correct. Now, to your first scholar, you know, he's saying, well,
- 49:50Speaker 18: the Iranians are chanting death to America. Well, you know,
- 49:53Speaker 18: the CIA, Mossad, and British MI5 overthrew the democratically elected
- 50:01Speaker 18: Mossadegh prime minister in 1953. and installed a dictator called
- 50:07Speaker 18: the Shah of Iran, whose Soviet tortured Iranians for criticizing
- 50:13Speaker 18: the government. I think if some country did that to us,
- 50:18Speaker 18: we would be chanting death to them as well.
- 50:22Speaker 1: All right. It is a mess. So what do you think?
- 50:25Speaker 1: Just a quick question. I mean, and it's all speculation
- 50:28Speaker 1: because we've never been in a situation like this before.
- 50:30Speaker 1: And I do sincerely think that this is a mess.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I mean, I'm deeply concerned where inflation is going to go.
- 50:36Speaker 1: I'm deeply concerned with what's the exit ramp on this situation.
- 50:41Speaker 1: How do you get out of this mess?
- 50:42Speaker 18: Well, I think. The economy is in deep trouble.
- 50:46Speaker 1: So do I.
- 50:46Speaker 18: I read a report yesterday. Small businesses are closing up shop.
- 50:52Speaker 18: They're laying people off. You know, small businesses is the
- 50:56Speaker 18: backbone to economic growth. It's not the large companies like
- 51:00Speaker 18: NVIDIA and General Motors. Small businesses... historically create the jobs,
- 51:07Speaker 18: and we're not creating the jobs in small businesses or
- 51:11Speaker 18: in trouble. They can't afford.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Pause for a second. I thought on John Arnold's show
- 51:17Speaker 1: Thursday night, Thursday night, 6-7, John Arnold Money Talk, I
- 51:20Speaker 1: thought he made an interesting observation. I just want to
- 51:23Speaker 1: bounce this off you, then I get to more calls.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I mean, he really made an interesting observation. Listen, John's
- 51:29Speaker 1: a pretty sharp guy. Would you agree financially? I mean,
- 51:31Speaker 1: he's a pretty smart guy. So he was talking about
- 51:35Speaker 1: this doesn't make sense as far as spending is concerned
- 51:40Speaker 1: and inflation and what's going on and how people are
- 51:44Speaker 1: continuing to spend. You follow me? He said, here's what
- 51:50Speaker 1: I think is causing that. And I said, well, what, John?
- 51:53Speaker 1: And he said, I think it's as a result of COVID.
- 51:56Speaker 1: And he said, as a result of COVID, it's changed
- 52:01Speaker 1: people and their philosophy where suddenly many people thought, well,
- 52:05Speaker 1: what's the point? I could die tomorrow. What's the next pandemic?
- 52:08Speaker 1: Or who knows that I'm going to live and be
- 52:10Speaker 1: able to retire? It's changed the mentality of a lot
- 52:13Speaker 1: of people to where they're going to buy no matter
- 52:16Speaker 1: what the situation is, even if it puts them in debt.
- 52:19Speaker 1: And I think he might be right about that.
- 52:22Speaker 18: Well, Ron, let me wrap it up by saying I've
- 52:25Speaker 18: been telling you for decades now, that we've got to
- 52:30Speaker 18: stop taxing businesses, especially small businesses, and we've got to
- 52:36Speaker 18: stop over-regulating them. If we did that, small businesses would
- 52:41Speaker 18: create jobs where we would have to import more workers
- 52:46Speaker 18: than we're doing now. We would have such labor shortages
- 52:53Speaker 18: in the wages for Americans. People would go up and
- 52:57Speaker 18: up and up if we just did those two things.
- 53:01Speaker 1: All right. I got you. Thanks, Frank. Appreciate it. You're
- 53:04Speaker 1: on the air.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I just need one thing. I'm at the grocery
- 53:08Speaker 5: store right now. Can I bill you guys for my
- 53:12Speaker 5: Reese's peanut butter sticks?
- 53:16Speaker 1: Why do you want to bill me for your, excuse me, your.
- 53:18Speaker 5: Reese's peanut butter sticks? Yeah, don't you remember our bet?
- 53:24Speaker 5: If we had signed a peace agreement.
- 53:27Speaker 25: This was a couple weeks ago.
- 53:28Speaker 1: If we signed a peace... You don't remember? No, refresh
- 53:31Speaker 1: my memory.
- 53:32Speaker 5: Remember, our bet was if we would sign a peace
- 53:34Speaker 5: agreement within the week that you stated we were going
- 53:36Speaker 5: to do, then I would either get you some Milo's
- 53:39Speaker 5: iced tea, or you would get me my Reese's Pieces.
- 53:42Speaker 3: So it's been..
- 53:43Speaker 5: That's all I'm concerned about. World affairs and stuff, I'm
- 53:46Speaker 5: not too worried. I just want my Reese's.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute. I... I thought I said that
- 53:53Speaker 1: we wouldn't do that. What was my side of that bet?
- 53:56Speaker 5: The side of the bet was within what you guys
- 53:58Speaker 5: all said and everybody said.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I never said that. No, no, no, no. I never
- 54:02Speaker 1: said we had signed it. We had that.
- 54:04Speaker 5: You're going back on our bet.
- 54:05Speaker 1: No, we had the moratorium. I think it's yet to
- 54:09Speaker 1: be determined, and it's looking more like you owe me
- 54:12Speaker 1: the gallon of Milo's unsweet tea. Not the sweet tea,
- 54:15Speaker 1: the unsweet tea.
- 54:17Speaker 5: But we're not signing a peace agreement. We haven't signed
- 54:19Speaker 5: a peace agreement. That was the bet.
- 54:20Speaker 1: And I don't think, I never said we'd sign a
- 54:23Speaker 1: peace agreement. You must be mistaking me for G2 or
- 54:27Speaker 1: Rich or somebody else.
- 54:28Speaker 10: That's what it is.
- 54:28Speaker 5: I thought it was you. I'm so sorry it was
- 54:30Speaker 5: somebody else.
- 54:33Speaker 1: No, it's you're a whole different because.
- 54:35Speaker 3: You've had nothing but liberals on.
- 54:36Speaker 1: You're a whole different guy. You're a whole different guy
- 54:38Speaker 1: since you went and had your analysis by your psychiatrist.
- 54:43Speaker 5: He's coming back to be flashbacks now.
- 54:45Speaker 3: That's right.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you're supposed to be.
- 54:47Speaker 5: So I never had that. So I'll get you.
- 54:50Speaker 10: I'll get on that.
- 54:50Speaker 5: Milo's for you real soon here.
- 54:52Speaker 1: You're not you're supposed to be. I thought your psychiatrist
- 54:55Speaker 1: was transforming you from JJ the liberal to JJ the Trumpster.
- 55:00Speaker 5: That's what it is. I just had another twitch right now.
- 55:02Speaker 5: I remember now, though. I am going to have to
- 55:05Speaker 5: go to Milo's today. Honey, honey, would you go get
- 55:08Speaker 5: that Milo's unsweetened?
- 55:10Speaker 25: Yeah, the gallons.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:12Speaker 10: Tell him it's Moran Verb.
- 55:13Speaker 7: Tell him it's Moran Verb. Thank you, honey. Thank you.
- 55:17Speaker 25: Can you pick up some Reese's sticks for me, too?
- 55:20Speaker 16: Oh, no.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Come on.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Never mind.
- 55:25Speaker 5: I'm not going to take too much of your time,
- 55:27Speaker 5: but it is true.
- 55:30Speaker 1: You know, folks, I said this the other day, and
- 55:33Speaker 1: I just say it while you're online. The two most
- 55:36Speaker 1: frequent callers people ever ask me about when I dare
- 55:39Speaker 1: to go anywhere outside of my home. The two most
- 55:45Speaker 1: callers that they ask me about are G2 and JJ.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Honest to God, they're the two most. Yeah, I haven't
- 55:51Speaker 1: had a quick goodbye yet. Way like telling, well, JJ
- 55:54Speaker 1: the liberal has now become JJ the Trumpster ever since
- 55:57Speaker 1: he went in for some psychiatric counseling. Your bits are
- 56:03Speaker 1: better than ever, though. I mean, you are on a roll.
- 56:06Speaker 1: I mean, you're acting.
- 56:08Speaker 11: You're lying.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Your acting is very good.
- 56:11Speaker 3: I mean, no, Milo's.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Milo's.
- 56:13Speaker 5: That's it, right.
- 56:14Speaker 10: Write it down.
- 56:15Speaker 3: I'm sorry, buddy. I get this.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Remind yourself. I mean, it's theater of the mind. It's
- 56:20Speaker 1: almost like I feel you're at the grocery store as
- 56:22Speaker 1: you're talking right now. I picture you.
- 56:24Speaker 24: Wait a second.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Wait a second. Cooler.
- 56:30Speaker 5: And then they have the bags of ice outside because
- 56:33Speaker 5: we got to make sure it's delivered cold. So could
- 56:35Speaker 5: you do that for me?
- 56:36Speaker 3: Thank you, honey.
- 56:37Speaker 18: I owe you.
- 56:38Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Go ahead.
- 56:41Speaker 10: Wait a minute.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Wait a minute. I mean, folks. It is almost like
- 56:47Speaker 1: it's like the old days when they were doing the
- 56:50Speaker 1: dramas on radio. I mean, I'm sitting here listening. It's
- 56:53Speaker 1: like JJ.
- 56:54Speaker 7: It's like, it's like, it's like, how was it like after?
- 56:57Speaker 3: Cause I'm turning 64 tomorrow.
- 56:58Speaker 5: How was life after that? Is it as good as
- 57:04Speaker 5: your living? Do I have to look forward to it?
- 57:07Speaker 3: You know what?
- 57:07Speaker 1: Let me tell you something, buddy. As long as you're
- 57:10Speaker 1: alive and healthy, life is wonderful. But you are doing
- 57:15Speaker 1: some great theater of the minds. I pictured you right
- 57:18Speaker 1: at the grocery store, hollering to your wife, And getting
- 57:21Speaker 1: the cooler and ice. I mean, I visually could see
- 57:24Speaker 1: it in my mind, everything that you were enacting on
- 57:29Speaker 1: the program. So I got to give you kudos. I mean,
- 57:31Speaker 1: brilliantly done. Just brilliantly done.
- 57:34Speaker 5: I still remember you're in G2' s thing. Remember when they,
- 57:37Speaker 5: what was it? It was giving you that weird background feed.
- 57:41Speaker 5: And you guys went along with it. You guys were
- 57:43Speaker 5: feeding off of one another. It was amazing. I actually
- 57:46Speaker 5: had me laughing. I was actually crying. I was laughing
- 57:49Speaker 5: so much. And I think even the people that don't
- 57:52Speaker 5: agree with me most of the time, we all had
- 57:53Speaker 5: a belly laugh that day. So it really is, you
- 57:57Speaker 5: had the ability to kind of blend with one another.
- 57:59Speaker 3: And that's called improv.
- 58:00Speaker 1: You better hang up. Your wife's at the self-checkout. You
- 58:03Speaker 1: better get down there.
- 58:04Speaker 5: M-I-L-O-S, plus V-S, Milo's. Yes, Milo's.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Listen, I got to go take care of this, man.
- 58:11Speaker 3: Have a great weekend.
- 58:12Speaker 1: There he is. Oh, Lord. You're on the air.
- 58:23Speaker 3: Good afternoon, Ron.
- 58:25Speaker 11: How are you?
- 58:25Speaker 1: I'm doing okay. I really am. I'm doing much better now.
- 58:30Speaker 11: Where's he calling from? The Seventh Planet?
- 58:32Speaker 1: No, the grocery store. It's all theater of the mind.
- 58:38Speaker 1: It's J.J. the Trumpster. He went through some psychiatric shock
- 58:41Speaker 1: therapy to go from being a liberal to the Trumpster.
- 58:44Speaker 1: And he's got some side effects. You understand.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Well, that's okay.
- 58:48Speaker 11: I don't think he's quite there yet.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Hey, now let me ask you this question. How are
- 58:54Speaker 1: things going out there economically, in your opinion? Folks, Mike
- 58:58Speaker 1: is like a sales guy. This is a guy, folks,
- 59:01Speaker 1: that it's easy for me to brag about. And I
- 59:04Speaker 1: want you to hear this. This is a guy that
- 59:06Speaker 1: is one of those guys that leaves on Monday and
- 59:08Speaker 1: gets home on Friday because he's all over. the country
- 59:11Speaker 1: selling an industrial product, you know, machinery and that, all
- 59:15Speaker 1: over the country. So he's a guy that's out there
- 59:19Speaker 1: providing for his family, and he doesn't get to see
- 59:21Speaker 1: them very much. Just as a side note, does that
- 59:24Speaker 1: get old after a while, yes or no? Yes. Okay.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I mean, hotels and just being in different places and
- 59:31Speaker 1: that kind of stuff.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:33Speaker 13: All right.
- 59:33Speaker 3: I had a good week this week.
- 59:34Speaker 11: But, you know, I have nothing new to report, Ron.
- 59:39Speaker 11: Everything is on the credit card. But, you know, it's
- 59:42Speaker 11: been a while since we've talked.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Yes.
- 59:46Speaker 11: And, you know, probably the last time, one of the
- 59:51Speaker 11: last discussions we had was, you know, we need to
- 59:53Speaker 11: get out of this Iranian tussle here. as quickly as
- 59:58Speaker 11: possible because this current government that we hired is not
- 1:00:05Speaker 11: doing what we hired them to do, which is the
- 1:00:08Speaker 11: America first agenda and to secure these elections.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: So it really doesn't matter what the economy is doing
- 1:00:18Speaker 11: right now. If we don't get this solved, because as we,
- 1:00:23Speaker 11: you know, going back to 2020, uh, We can see
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: how quickly that everything can be, it's just like a
- 1:00:30Speaker 11: light switch. Everything can be undone with a few strokes
- 1:00:36Speaker 11: of the auto pen.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Right. Aren't you disappointed in the Republicans as a whole
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: that in the majority they haven't secured more of this
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: other than executive orders? I mean, the Republican Party is
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: extremely disappointing with the American agenda that they didn't secure
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: it more and that they don't get the SAVE Act passed.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I think that's vital. Okay, so it's horrible that you've
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: got to show an ID to vote and be a citizen.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: That's controversial? You've got to have your head examined.
- 1:01:08Speaker 11: I should be able to walk on the sub-base that
- 1:01:11Speaker 11: I was on this week with just a piece of
- 1:01:15Speaker 11: paper that says I'm coming in to look. And I'm
- 1:01:18Speaker 11: not going to look and take any pictures, but I
- 1:01:20Speaker 11: want to sell you something.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: How'd that work out? Were you able to do that?
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: No, not at all.
- 1:01:29Speaker 11: So let's go real quick here. I don't want to
- 1:01:33Speaker 11: tie up too much of your time. You know, Donald Trump,
- 1:01:38Speaker 11: he's the de facto leader for this America First agenda.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:01:43Speaker 11: We hired him to... push this agenda forward. Obviously, he
- 1:01:48Speaker 11: cannot do it himself. He's got, you know, he's got,
- 1:01:53Speaker 11: you know, the Senate and the Congress to deal with.
- 1:01:57Speaker 11: I wish that he would go after these people that
- 1:02:01Speaker 11: are holding up this agenda as hard as he did
- 1:02:05Speaker 11: Thomas Massey.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Bravo. Stand by. Just let me do my break. I'll
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: come right back to you, okay? Just hang in there.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: All right. I'm always intrigued by what Mike has to say.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Back after this, stay tuned. Ron, Verb 422.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: So, see, I'm in tune with what you're saying. You're
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: saying Trump has got to get back to why he
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: was elected.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:02:33Speaker 11: And I'm going to go a little... I've got a
- 1:02:36Speaker 11: couple points, but this one, you know, you talk about
- 1:02:39Speaker 11: the standards quite a bit.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: And..
- 1:02:42Speaker 11: You know, the job that the people in Florida hired
- 1:02:45Speaker 11: DeSantis to do, he's doing.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: It's unbelievable.
- 1:02:50Speaker 11: Absolutely. And I don't know, you know, this is obviously
- 1:02:53Speaker 11: hindsight is 20-20, and I don't know how wrong DeSantis
- 1:02:57Speaker 11: would be as President of the United States, but just
- 1:03:01Speaker 11: based on where we are today and the results that
- 1:03:08Speaker 11: he has achieved there versus the results that we have
- 1:03:12Speaker 11: achieved on the national level, I may vote for, I
- 1:03:18Speaker 11: would probably vote for DeSantis over Trump.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Are you prepared? Well, Trump obviously can't run again. I
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: would vote for, if DeSantis was running for president next time,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: I would vote for him over anybody. I think, quite frankly,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: there's a couple of things. What I like about DeSantis
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: is he reads. He reads this stuff. I mean, he
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: just doesn't go by advisors. I think he's smart. He reads.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: And I love his philosophy on taxes. And I played
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: it one day for an hour. I want to repeat
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: that on some future broadcast. It's so moving.
- 1:03:54Speaker 11: Hopefully this deer does not try to cross the road. Oh,
- 1:03:57Speaker 11: it's going back. Good.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:04:00Speaker 11: Sorry about the play-by-play.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: But, I mean, I remember your call vividly because you said, listen,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: we've got to get out of this Iran situation. We've
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: got to get back to the American first agenda, getting
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: rid of inflation and the secure elections. That's all. We've
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: got to get back to that kind of stuff. And
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: he's not doing any of that.
- 1:04:22Speaker 11: No. For whatever reason, he is, you know, stuck in
- 1:04:27Speaker 11: a rut. with this Iranian war, and, you know, I
- 1:04:33Speaker 11: just want to see you get out of it. How
- 1:04:35Speaker 11: do you get out of it? I don't know, other
- 1:04:36Speaker 11: than just walking away and saying, who did Frank say,
- 1:04:39Speaker 11: I'm declaring peace?
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I'm declaring victory.
- 1:04:43Speaker 11: No, no, no, he said I'm declaring peace.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:04:46Speaker 11: And walking away. So, now I've got a couple questions
- 1:04:50Speaker 11: for you, Ron.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:04:52Speaker 11: Do you trust people?
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Some, yes.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:00Speaker 11: Do you trust people running business?
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Some, yes.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:06Speaker 11: Do you trust people running the government?
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:15Speaker 11: I got your answer. Yeah, I got your answer. That's okay.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: You don't have to.
- 1:05:24Speaker 11: So my question to you is why do we You know,
- 1:05:32Speaker 11: why do people, their default position is that if I
- 1:05:37Speaker 11: can't figure this out, we're going to have government do it,
- 1:05:42Speaker 11: provide the solution, where you've got in, say, the free
- 1:05:46Speaker 11: market and business where you would have choices. You know,
- 1:05:50Speaker 11: the only time we don't have a choice in the
- 1:05:52Speaker 11: free market is when it has government-granted monopoly powers and licensure.
- 1:05:57Speaker 11: That's the only time we don't have a choice. Every
- 1:05:59Speaker 11: other one, you can go, you know, you don't have
- 1:06:02Speaker 11: to go to Burger King. You go to McDonald's. And
- 1:06:06Speaker 11: I heard today it was a great, on another radio show.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Is there such a thing?
- 1:06:13Speaker 11: Not as good as yours.
- 1:06:16Speaker 12: Wink, wink.
- 1:06:20Speaker 11: They said that having the government put forth regulations, They
- 1:06:26Speaker 11: were talking about school boards. It was like having Burger
- 1:06:29Speaker 11: King regulate where McDonald's can go and vice versa. Can
- 1:06:35Speaker 11: you put a Burger King next to a McDonald's and
- 1:06:40Speaker 11: then going and ask McDonald's if that's okay? So that's
- 1:06:43Speaker 11: what you have when you have government, except for one thing.
- 1:06:48Speaker 11: The government can come back with a gun and say
- 1:06:51Speaker 11: you must comply, where a business cannot. You can just
- 1:06:55Speaker 11: go down the street. So why do we trust government
- 1:07:00Speaker 11: to provide, say, Medicare or Medicaid or Social Security or, oh,
- 1:07:09Speaker 11: I don't know, how about your currency? You know, Bitcoin,
- 1:07:13Speaker 11: stable coin or whatever Alec was talking about. the other day.
- 1:07:16Speaker 11: I mean, the one thing that struck me was he
- 1:07:20Speaker 11: was saying that they had some clarity act that was
- 1:07:23Speaker 11: going to prevent government..
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Stand by for one more break. Hang in. Okay. News
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:07:30Speaker 14: A 36-year-old Canfield man was under indictment over a crash
- 1:07:37Speaker 14: last year that killed an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.
- 1:07:41Speaker 16: Ryan Rack is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. and vehicular assault.
- 1:07:46Speaker 16: The wreck killed Trooper Nicholas Caton. The CDC is sending
- 1:07:51Speaker 16: detectives to Ohio to look into the cyclosporiasis outbreak. The
- 1:07:56Speaker 16: Ohio Department of Health has requested help from the CDC
- 1:08:00Speaker 16: in pinpointing the source of the parasites causing rising numbers
- 1:08:04Speaker 16: of illnesses. The experts are going to be interviewing individuals
- 1:08:08Speaker 16: who have tested positive for cyclospora over the next three weeks.
- 1:08:13Speaker 16: Over 2,000 cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported in Ohio
- 1:08:19Speaker 16: since June 23rd.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I'm Matt Reese.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: and sports radio.
- 1:08:28Speaker 12: Podcasts, too.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Download the app. Free never sounded so good. A to
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Z dependable services, plumbing, septic, heating. Now, Ron Verb on
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WKBN. All right, let me go back. I
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: want to get some more words of wisdom, final words
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: from Mike. Okay, go ahead. What were you saying?
- 1:08:47Speaker 11: There's not many words of wisdom left.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: Well, you know, to me, here's my credit to you.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to ask you this. How do
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: you think the economy is doing right now?
- 1:08:58Speaker 11: It's teetering on the edge. I mean, it's all smoke
- 1:09:03Speaker 11: and mirrors.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Okay, because you're out there and you're dealing with industry
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: and business and you sell a machinery and it's expensive
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: and you hear it firsthand. Folks, if you want to
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: know how the economy is doing, ask a salesman. Ask
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: a truck driver. Ask anybody in shipping. Go ahead.
- 1:09:21Speaker 11: But that's only going to give you part of the picture.
- 1:09:24Speaker 11: You know, if a company is close to, say, the
- 1:09:30Speaker 11: government trough, Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:32Speaker 12: Okay?
- 1:09:32Speaker 11: They're buying like crazy.
- 1:09:34Speaker 13: Right.
- 1:09:34Speaker 10: They don't care.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:35Speaker 11: Because that's... At this point, it's never-ending.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:09:39Speaker 11: It's like, oh, we're going to go to, I don't know,
- 1:09:44Speaker 11: the buffet at the Ron Herb restaurant.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: If they're involved in anything with the military, I get you.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: I know what you mean.
- 1:09:49Speaker 10: Sure.
- 1:09:50Speaker 12: Absolutely.
- 1:09:51Speaker 11: So, you know, that's only part of the story. The
- 1:09:54Speaker 11: real thing, though, is this, you know, the $ 40 trillion that...
- 1:10:00Speaker 11: debt that we have, and the gazillion dollars of unfunded liabilities,
- 1:10:06Speaker 11: things like Social Security and pensions and stuff like that,
- 1:10:10Speaker 11: that is what's going to crush the United States if
- 1:10:14Speaker 11: we do not continually dip into future productivity to pay
- 1:10:20Speaker 11: these things. You know, so back to this Clarity Act
- 1:10:25Speaker 11: thing and the Bitcoin and stablecoin thing. They're not going
- 1:10:31Speaker 11: to be backed by anything. And to say that they're
- 1:10:34Speaker 11: going to be backed by the U.S. Treasuries or the dollar,
- 1:10:39Speaker 11: what is that? There's no backing there either. It's our
- 1:10:43Speaker 11: ability to pay those bills, you and I, to contribute
- 1:10:48Speaker 11: with our productivity that keeps this charade going. And therein
- 1:10:53Speaker 11: lies the problem. At some point in time, that loaf
- 1:10:57Speaker 11: of bread... you will need a wheelbarrow.
- 1:11:00Speaker 13: Full of money to buy it.
- 1:11:04Speaker 11: So, you know, the long-term outlook, as long as we
- 1:11:08Speaker 11: are under this system, is not good. Now, I've got
- 1:11:14Speaker 11: a question for you. If you change the way Social
- 1:11:16Speaker 11: Security is funded, is it still Social Security?
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Yes, it is. Yes, it is.
- 1:11:25Speaker 11: Well, in name only, Ron.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: In name only it's a great program and you and
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: i will always disagree on that.
- 1:11:33Speaker 11: We will disagree on it but it is not a
- 1:11:35Speaker 11: great program we will disagree that it's a program.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: I think it's a great program and you and i
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: are just i tell you what we're just gonna have
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: to arm wrestle okay you want to Well, probably not
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: at my age. Yeah, probably not at my age.
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: Well, yeah, you're right.
- 1:11:51Speaker 11: It'd be beating up on an old man.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much. At least you acknowledge it, you know
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: what I mean? Hey, sonny boy, respect your elders, all right? Okay.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: See you later, Mike.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: So, Ron, no kidding.
- 1:12:06Speaker 11: Have a great weekend.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: You too. You're on the air.
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: Yeah, hi, Ron.
- 1:12:11Speaker 10: Hi.
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: You know, I'm kind of disappointed that you went to
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: three hours, but I totally understand because, you know, I'm
- 1:12:21Speaker 7: an older person, too.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I just want to say this again. Three hours is
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: important to me, folks, because... Four hours is a long...
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Most talk shows are three hours, not four hours. I've
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: done a four-hour talk show here for 41 years. And
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: that's a long haul to do a four-hour talk show.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: When people would complain about the Guardians coming on, I
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: love listening to the Guardians, but I rejoiced when they
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: came on because it meant sometimes I could finish at
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: 6 or 6.30 as opposed to 7 o'clock. And by
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: the time I get out of here and get home
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: and I'm eating dinner at 8.30, it's crazy. You know
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: what I mean? I totally get that. I just said
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I had enough of that. I don't want to do
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: that anymore.
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: But here's my comment. That all being said, and I
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: totally understand that, but now we have three hours, and
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: then three nights a week, you have other shows that
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: go on for the third hour.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Well, I have to do those, yeah. Rockport on Monday
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: and John Earl, yes.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: So it's only three days.
- 1:13:38Speaker 7: That being said.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Okay, go ahead.
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: Three days.
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: Yeah, but three other... three, one hour a day. So
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: basically I've been on hold for an hour. And what I'm,
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: what I want to ask is for the people who
- 1:13:53Speaker 7: call every day.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Just go ahead.
- 1:13:57Speaker 7: Every day.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I love my everyday callers.
- 1:14:00Speaker 7: Try to keep it a little pithy.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: No.
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: To give other people a chance to talk. Now I'm
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: not saying that they shouldn't, they can call every day.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: Let me tell you, I'm going to answer, I'm going
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: to answer your criticism and I'll let you talk. This
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: program would not exist at the level it exists without
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: those regular callers. I'm just telling you point blank that
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: without them, this program would not exist to the level
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: that it exists. And because many of those regular callers
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: are outstanding contributors and make the program possible. what it is.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Here's a little inside baseball I give you on radio
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: talk shows. Less than 2% of the audience actually picks
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: up the phone and calls. That's a very small percentage. 98%
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: of the people that listen to talk radio never pick
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: up the phone and call. It takes a certain degree
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: of guts to call. And when you get regular callers
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: like JJ, he's really a fairly entertaining guy. Richard Farmacist
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: is a smart guy. G2 is in a category by himself. Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: And all of this kind of stuff. The regular callers
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: that we've cultivated and have are excellent from a knowledge
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: standpoint and they're very entertaining. So I will defend them.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: And that's why most talk shows, if you've ever listened, like,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: for example... Jesse Kelly that's on at 10 o'clock at night,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: he doesn't take any calls. If you listen to Clay
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: and Buck, they don't take very many calls. I don't
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: understand radio talk shows anymore, folks, where it's just two
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: or three people talking to each other all the time,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: and they never engage with the audience or take calls
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: from the audience. It's a risk.
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: It's a risk.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Even Sean Hannity takes very few calls. And a lot
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: of these guys use what they call the iHeartRadio app,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: which is like one way. You know, you can record
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: 20 seconds and then they can play it. And to
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: a certain extent, this sounds terrible. It's the coward's way
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: out because I think you should be..
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: I agree with you. And it is very risky. I mean,
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: you know, we've got the one caller that you have
- 1:16:09Speaker 7: to hang up on all the time, you know, because
- 1:16:12Speaker 7: it's kind of foul mouthed. But you know what I'm saying.
- 1:16:16Speaker 7: You know that guy. And then you have to hang
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: up on him. But anyhow, are you still there?
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:16:25Speaker 12: Hello?
- 1:16:26Speaker 25: Yes.
- 1:16:28Speaker 12: Anyhow.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Where do you think I went? Do you think like
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: a UFO came down? Are you still there? No, I
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: went out for lunch.
- 1:16:37Speaker 7: Maybe you hung up on me.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: No, I didn't hang up. You are starting to get
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: on my nerves.
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: I'm not trying to complain.
- 1:16:42Speaker 9: I want to.
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: You know, I love..
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: I mean, sometimes... Sometimes I.
- 1:16:46Speaker 7: Like about, too, you have a lot of critical thinkers.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Oh, I get some very smart..
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: Now, some people are just critical.
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:16:54Speaker 7: Early on the program, you were probably kind of just critical.
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: But there are them, the critical thinkers, like JT, like
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: Ted the Conservative... Like, you know, sometimes, you know, Frank,
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: he can just be critical.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Frank's a pretty smart guy, actually. I know a lot
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: of people don't.
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: Well, I agree. You know, I'm past the age. I
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: don't have the money to do the investing and to
- 1:17:18Speaker 7: do all of that. So sometimes when those callers come on,
- 1:17:21Speaker 7: it just kind of goes over my head. And, you know,
- 1:17:24Speaker 7: and I'm sure there's a lot of people out there
- 1:17:26Speaker 7: who are like that.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: It goes over my head when they get into the
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: weeds on ads.
- 1:17:31Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I mean, it really does. But I'm conscious of what
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: you're saying, and I appreciate it. Believe me.
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: I'm asking them. Try to, you know, hold it. Keep
- 1:17:47Speaker 7: it a little pippy because your fellow listeners would occasionally
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: like to get.
- 1:17:53Speaker 11: A word in.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Well, if they're interesting, I really like a lot of
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: those people, and I really enjoy engaging with them. Hey,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: nothing lasts forever, I've got to tell you. Here's the reality.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: There are very few local radio talk shows anymore at all.
- 1:18:13Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: And here, I'm going to give you the inside scoop,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: because you've intrigued me now, and now I'm confessing everything
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: to you. Okay, you're going to... And I probably shouldn't
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: say any of this, okay? So you'll probably get me
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: in deep trouble. Just between you and me. Just between
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: you and me. Like when you see on a lot
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: of talk radio stations and they put on what they
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: call network shows, like Sean Hannity, like Jesse Kelly, like
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Clay and Buck, all of those programs are owned by Premier,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: which is a network which is owned by iHeart, okay?
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: You follow me? So iHeart Radio owns Premier, so those
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: are all their properties. That's all their network shows.
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: That's a stable of people.
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Absolutely correct. And they're tried and true and tested and
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff. So if you go pretty
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: much anywhere in the country, on iHeart Station, you mostly
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: hear all network programming. You hear very few local radio
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: talk shows at all anymore, particularly in medium-sized markets or
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: small markets, and even in some of the larger markets.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: You hear very few local radio talk shows. And I
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: think that's a big mistake. Make no mistake. In my opinion,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: I think it is a huge, huge mistake. But I
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: don't own this company. They own it. And it's theirs
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: to do with what they please. And I think local
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: radio stations should serve the local community. And I think
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: it's hard to do that when you have network programming
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: on all the time. Yeah.
- 1:19:59Speaker 11: I agree.
- 1:20:01Speaker 7: You know, I used to sell advertising for three different
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: radio stations when I lived in State College. So radio
- 1:20:10Speaker 7: is close to my heart. That's why I listen.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: It's far better than television. And I'm going to enjoy
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: this conversation, folks, so everybody else is just going to
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: have to wait. When you say, I enjoy this conversation because...
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: Like the other day when I was talking about the
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Poland Library, you can't do what we did here on
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: television or any other outlet. I can sit here with
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: the architect that built that library and talk to him
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: for two to three hours about that situation. And it's
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: such an honor. And it's such an honor to have–
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: a blessing, I guess you would say, to have a
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: large audience. You follow me? I mean, you know the business.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: I mean, we're blessed. We got a huge signal. We
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: got a lot of listeners and people that if they
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: don't listen live, they listen on the iHeart app or
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: they listen to the podcast. So it's easy to get
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: stories out to people because you can hear from people
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: and they have time to explain themselves and you can
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: cover stuff in more detail. And I think you lose
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: that when you lose local talk radio.
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: And then people can call and ask specific questions that
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: you might not have thought of, and you kind of
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: stir the imagination of people who didn't really know what
- 1:21:29Speaker 7: was going on. Maybe they don't read the newspaper anymore.
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: Maybe they are.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: And that's how things like the library sneak by.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Exactly right. And you can't. As much as they talk
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: about podcasts and this kind of stuff, other than Joe
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: Rogan and that kind of stuff, for the most part,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, the big names... most like if
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: they're regional or local podcast, I mean, we get a
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: lot of listenership to our podcast when he, when we
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: post it, we've been having some problems with our it.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: So they, I think they finally got them sorted out.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: So a lot of people were upset with that. So,
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: but we, we are successful at our podcast posts because
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: of the radio program. You follow me, the people who
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: aren't able to hear the program live, listen to it
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: on a podcast, but most podcasts don't have that many
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: listeners or viewers, right? At all, if you look at it.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: It's a very small audience. And that's the benefit, since
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: you know radio. Radio listenership is huge. And it's huge
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: because it's free. You don't have to pay for it.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: You don't need a cable. It's easy to get to
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: and all this kind of stuff, whether it's music or
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: whether it's talk radio. It's free. So it's huge. You
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: sold advertising. I think it's the most effective advertising. Absolutely.
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: I used to say to people, even if you advertise
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: and you do three commercials during the day, the same
- 1:23:03Speaker 7: people are listening. They will hear that commercial three times
- 1:23:09Speaker 7: because they are listening. They don't change the channel. They
- 1:23:15Speaker 7: just go from one program to the next a lot
- 1:23:19Speaker 7: of times. And I just, while we're on the topic,
- 1:23:23Speaker 7: I want to say that I really like Michael DiGiorno.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: In the morning. He's excellent, yeah.
- 1:23:30Speaker 7: If anybody hasn't Listen to him from six to nine.
- 1:23:35Speaker 7: It's excellent. I learn a lot. He's funny. He's got
- 1:23:41Speaker 7: ADD like a lot of radio people do.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: But even if you listen, like, you know, when I
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: evaluate things, just in my opinion, I think Armstrong and
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Getty are way better than Clay and Buck. I think
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Armstrong and Getty are way better than Clay and Buck.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: They're kind of knuckleheads.
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: They're kind of a couple-of-guy knuckleheads.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: You know what I mean? But they're pretty good. I'm
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: not a big fan of Clay and Buck. I never
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: have been, but I thought Rush Limbaugh was excellent on that.
- 1:24:18Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: And Sean Hannity, obviously, is the king because he's on
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: like 600 stations or something along those lines. So network
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: programming has its place, but it's pretty much– When a
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: company owns a network, they want to get that kind
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: of stuff out. So all I'm saying is local talk
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: shows are an endangered species, and everybody's getting older and
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. And not to sound like a goofball,
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: but you would know it's not an inexpensive undertaking. People
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: might find this hard to imagine. I don't show up
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: for free. And it's been very good to me.
- 1:24:56Speaker 7: And, you know, it's hard to replace. It's hard to
- 1:24:58Speaker 7: replace somebody like you or like Dan because you need
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: somebody who's been around for a long.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Time and knows the history.
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: You can't, like the library lady, you can't just throw
- 1:25:11Speaker 7: somebody in who has no ties to the community, doesn't
- 1:25:15Speaker 7: know anything about the past or what happened 20 years
- 1:25:20Speaker 7: ago or whatever.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: But I've always taken, you know, before I was here,
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: I've always done the same thing. I've always, you know,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I'll have guests on from time to time, but very infrequently.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: And I've usually have always taken calls from listeners. And
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: I've never been able to figure out why so many
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: radio talk shows, whether network or local, are afraid to
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: do that. And or too nervous to do that. And
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: I've never been able to figure that out. But it
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: is what it is.
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: A control thing. It's a control thing. And the risk,
- 1:25:51Speaker 7: the risk of what they're going to say. And, you know,
- 1:25:55Speaker 7: some of them just don't want to take that risk.
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: I'll just leave you with that.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: You're actually pretty smart. I mean, I've got to confess.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I mean, you kind of know what you're talking about.
- 1:26:06Speaker 7: I'm always underestimated.
- 1:26:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: Well, guess what? I'm always overestimated. Believe me, I'm much
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: dumber than you would think. Thank you for your call, though.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: I got to go.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Back after this, NewsRadio 570 WKBN and Ron Furb from
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: the Kingdom of Mahoning. Hi there, this is 570 WKBN.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: And your fearless leader, Ron Furb, you're on the air.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: Yes, Ron. Hey, I just want to make a quick
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: statement about Trump.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: I'm just going to have to give him the benefit
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: of the doubt. I think he.
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: Meant well for the country and the world of what
- 1:26:44Speaker 9: he got into.
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: Maybe he got duped by Israel. I don't know. But
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: I just have to give him a little break on
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: this and say he thought he was doing the right thing.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: He got duped, probably. But I think he.
- 1:26:59Speaker 9: Meant well in what he's doing. And I have to
- 1:27:03Speaker 9: cut him a little break on that. And And I
- 1:27:05Speaker 9: know things aren't going good, but if.
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: I was him, I would say, okay, we're going to.
- 1:27:10Speaker 9: Bomb the crap out of them and then get out
- 1:27:12Speaker 9: of there.
- 1:27:12Speaker 12: That's it.
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: If they don't want to come to the table, we're done.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: That's what I would do if I was Mr. Donald J. Trump.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Thank you for short and sweet. I appreciate it. All right.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Have a good night, Ron.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:27:27Speaker 26: Hello?
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:27:29Speaker 26: Ron, I got a question here. ask, and maybe one
- 1:27:34Speaker 26: of your smart listeners will know the answer to it.
- 1:27:38Speaker 26: I'm one of your 94-year-old young persons.
- 1:27:44Speaker 13: 94?
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: You better get the question out. Who knows how much
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: longer you got?
- 1:27:48Speaker 26: That's for sure. Anyhow, this is an article written about
- 1:27:51Speaker 26: birthright citizenship by Edward J.
- 1:27:54Speaker 13: Erler.
- 1:27:55Speaker 26: E-R-L-E-R.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: What's your question?
- 1:27:59Speaker 26: He states that Birthright citizenship is not birthright by birth.
- 1:28:08Speaker 26: It's citizenship by law. And it goes on to say,
- 1:28:12Speaker 26: all persons born of naturalized U.S. citizens or U.S. people
- 1:28:22Speaker 26: are subject of the jurisdiction. And then he goes on
- 1:28:28Speaker 26: to explain what they meant by citizenship. jurisdiction in the
- 1:28:33Speaker 26: Constitution means owning exclusive allegiance to the U.S. He said
- 1:28:40Speaker 26: that's the reason why Indians didn't join the Union, because
- 1:28:45Speaker 26: their allegiance was to their tribe and not to the U.S.
- 1:28:50Speaker 26: And I would like to know if that's true, and
- 1:28:52Speaker 26: if that is true, why don't they get all these
- 1:28:55Speaker 26: politicians down at are that are asking for communism and
- 1:29:05Speaker 26: socialism and get them expelled, expel their citizenship and get
- 1:29:11Speaker 26: them out of the country.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: All right, old timer. Duly noted. I'll see if anybody
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: has any reaction to it. Hang in there.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Stay healthy. I'll be right back. Looking to upgrade your bathroom? Hi,
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: this is..
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: Money Talks investment coach, John Arnold Studios. This is 570
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: WKBN Youngstown, an iHeartRadio station, guaranteed human.
- 1:29:33Speaker 19: From ABC News, I'm.
- 1:29:40Speaker 27: Lindsay Davis, anchor of Prime, streaming on ABC News Live.
- 1:29:43Speaker 27: It's still unclear whether Saudi Arabia will agree to a
- 1:29:46Speaker 27: nuclear partnership with the U.S. that President Trump insists is
- 1:29:49Speaker 27: in the works. The president added a caveat to the deal,
- 1:29:52Speaker 27: which would allow the U.S. to help the Saudis build
- 1:29:54Speaker 27: nuclear power, but the Saudis have to sign on to
- 1:29:56Speaker 27: the Abraham Accords. That agreement paves the way for other
- 1:29:59Speaker 27: Mideast nations to have normalized relations with Israel. Saudi Arabia
- 1:30:03Speaker 27: has long said it wants formal recognition of a Palestinian state,
- 1:30:06Speaker 27: something the current Israeli government won't do. ABC's Stephen Portnoy.
- 1:30:10Speaker 28: We've looked at the history of this and the law.
- 1:30:12Speaker 28: This is the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, which allows
- 1:30:17Speaker 28: for a congressional review process once a deal is struck
- 1:30:19Speaker 28: with a foreign country to share nuclear technology. It was
- 1:30:22Speaker 28: controversial to begin with because of the concerns about nuclear
- 1:30:25Speaker 28: nonproliferation and the idea of, might this not allow for
- 1:30:29Speaker 28: international inspectors? And would the Saudis actually be enriching uranium
- 1:30:33Speaker 28: in Saudi Arabia? The president insisted that wouldn't be part
- 1:30:35Speaker 28: of the deal.
- 1:30:36Speaker 27: A shocking broad daylight double stabbing in Manhattan Thursday afternoon.
- 1:30:39Speaker 27: The NYPD says the suspect shouted, then randomly stabbed two
- 1:30:44Speaker 27: men in the 50s. ABC's Aaron Katursky.
- 1:30:47Speaker 29: One of the victims is Asian who was stabbed in
- 1:30:49Speaker 29: the back with a knife. The other victim is Jewish
- 1:30:51Speaker 29: and had just stepped outside a synagogue when he was
- 1:30:54Speaker 29: stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver. A UPS driver
- 1:30:57Speaker 29: who saw what happened followed the suspect for several blocks.

- 1:31:27Speaker 30: sweet time getting through. And we're going to see this

- 1:32:43Speaker 1: Now, more news.
- 1:32:44Speaker 19: The FDA out with another warning today, this time regarding
- 1:32:47Speaker 19: certain types of eggs. The agency says at least 98
- 1:32:50Speaker 19: people across 17 states have been infected with salmonella, with
- 1:32:53Speaker 19: eggs likely being the source. Midwest Poultry Services issued a
- 1:32:57Speaker 19: voluntary recall of white shell eggs and brown cage-free shell
- 1:33:01Speaker 19: eggs with the sell-by-best-by date between July 20th and August 17th.
- 1:33:06Speaker 19: The DOJ today announced 11 indictments in the deaths of
- 1:33:09Speaker 19: seven migrants who died from extreme heat after being locked
- 1:33:12Speaker 19: in a cargo train container in May.
- 1:33:14Speaker 16: U.S.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Attorney for the.
- 1:33:15Speaker 19: Western District of Texas Justin Simmons said an investigation found
- 1:33:18Speaker 19: six bodies when the train arrived in Laredo were connected
- 1:33:21Speaker 19: with another found in San Antonio.
- 1:33:22Speaker 20: Eleven individuals that we've identified to date that operated this
- 1:33:26Speaker 20: alien smuggling organization and caused the death of these seven individuals.
- 1:33:31Speaker 19: Seems there was a fight involving one of the most
- 1:33:33Speaker 19: famous prison inmates in New Jersey. ABC's Sherry Preston.
- 1:33:36Speaker 8: A source tells ABC News that Sean Diddy Combs has
- 1:33:39Speaker 8: been in a fight at the Federal Correctional Institution at
- 1:33:42Speaker 8: Fort Dix, where he's serving a 50-month sentence for transporting prostitutes.
- 1:33:46Speaker 8: The other inmate involved in the altercation apparently made a
- 1:33:49Speaker 8: remark to Diddy, which instigated the entire event, and Diddy
- 1:33:52Speaker 8: was sent to solitary confinement, according to a source. It's
- 1:33:55Speaker 8: unclear if that move will be temporary or whether he'll
- 1:33:57Speaker 8: be kept there long-term. Combs' release is supposed to be
- 1:34:01Speaker 8: in 2028.
- 1:34:01Speaker 19: I'm Stephanie Officer, ABC News.
- 1:34:05Speaker 17: A to Z depends on verb on news radio, five
- 1:34:09Speaker 17: 70 WKBN. All right.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Patient callers. You're on the air.
- 1:34:14Speaker 13: Hello.
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: Oh, hi, Ron.
- 1:34:17Speaker 10: It's not Marianne.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: No, pretty good. Actually, not a bad, like a blast
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: from the past.
- 1:34:30Speaker 10: I know. Right.
- 1:34:32Speaker 31: Hey, I was, Thinking about the past, not yesterday, but
- 1:34:36Speaker 31: the Thursday prior, you had a woman call in. She
- 1:34:41Speaker 31: was college-educated, and she was just going off. I don't
- 1:34:47Speaker 31: know if you recall or not.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: Yes, I do.
- 1:34:50Speaker 31: And when you asked her if she was married, I
- 1:34:54Speaker 31: just busted up laughing because, like, who's going to marry
- 1:34:58Speaker 31: something like that?
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: She was something else.
- 1:35:05Speaker 31: She was going off, I'll tell you. Hey, Sherrod Brown, though, right?
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:35:12Speaker 31: He's the only one worried about the Swable people. He's
- 1:35:16Speaker 31: running for something. Now he's getting photo ops with the
- 1:35:20Speaker 31: people from Swable. I don't know if you saw it
- 1:35:22Speaker 31: on the news.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: Well, naturally. He's there acting like he gives a damn
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: about it because he's looking for votes. And let me
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: tell you, when he's done, he goes home and he
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: forgets all about it.
- 1:35:35Speaker 11: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:35:39Speaker 31: You guys were talking about the library the last couple
- 1:35:41Speaker 31: of days. And, you know, they're talking about replacing it.
- 1:35:45Speaker 31: You know, what, are they going to build it further
- 1:35:49Speaker 31: up on 170?
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they've got a different location. They're going to want
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: to build a new building, which would be nearly as
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: spectacular and would cost... Instead of fixing what you have,
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: fixing the building that you have, which is spectacular, and
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: putting the money in that, their philosophy is, well, it's
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: 25 years old. Let's go build a new one. I mean,
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: with their philosophy, who would stay in their house? I mean,
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: it's just the most strangest damn philosophy and so arrogant
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: to the people of that community and, quite frankly, the
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: rest of us.
- 1:36:26Speaker 31: If they say it's going to be like $ 10 million
- 1:36:27Speaker 31: to build a new one, you know it's going to
- 1:36:29Speaker 31: be $ 20 million by the time it's done.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 1:36:31Speaker 31: That's a consideration. But I don't know if it was
- 1:36:36Speaker 31: Rich or Ted said that he was just by the library.
- 1:36:40Speaker 25: And then, like, I heard him on the radio.
- 1:36:42Speaker 31: And then, like, the next day I was like, I'm
- 1:36:44Speaker 31: going past the library and I'm looking at it. And
- 1:36:46Speaker 31: I'm like, yeah, it's not maintained. It's just from the
- 1:36:50Speaker 31: street you can see it.
- 1:36:51Speaker 13: Right.
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: And like anything, you have to do maintenance over that
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: period of time. And obviously, you have not done it.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: And now you want to say, well, the maintenance is overwhelming. Well,
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: because you haven't done it. But that doesn't mean you
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: abandon a beautiful facility that's one of the gems of
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: that community or, frankly, Mahoning County.
- 1:37:12Speaker 12: Right.
- 1:37:13Speaker 31: You were talking about guest hosts. The guy you had the–
- 1:37:19Speaker 31: not the contractor, the– the guy that designs the buildings,
- 1:37:24Speaker 31: the engineer, whatever.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Architect.
- 1:37:27Speaker 13: Architect, yeah.
- 1:37:28Speaker 31: Yeah, I mean, that was a good guest host. I
- 1:37:32Speaker 31: enjoyed that program. And, I mean, you just learn so
- 1:37:35Speaker 31: much about what's behind the scenes, you know, more than
- 1:37:41Speaker 31: you hear on the regular news. You know, they just
- 1:37:43Speaker 31: do like a three-minute blip on the library, you know,
- 1:37:46Speaker 31: on the news, but you don't get all the, inside
- 1:37:50Speaker 31: info like you do on your show.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Many of his critics, though, were not around when it
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: was being built. Many of these paid hired guns to
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: try to discredit the guy were never around when this
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: was being built. They're not architects. They're not contractors. They
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: weren't there when it's being built. So really, they're just
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: spewing stuff out to try to justify the narrative that's
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: out there. Like the guy, like he said, it's built
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: on bedrock. They tell you where all the gravel came from,
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: how it was certified. He can tell you the engineer
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: was as far as the footings are concerned. And he
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: can tell you everything about when it was built. All
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: these people that are critical of it none of them
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: were there when this was going on and none of
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: them have the expertise he has of not just himself
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: but all the other people that were involved in this
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: process including a woman who's in charge of library who's
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: not even from our area.
- 1:38:45Speaker 31: Well, just the fact that he said that you could
- 1:38:48Speaker 31: enlarge the creek out back and make it like a
- 1:38:50Speaker 31: pond that would... It'd be like a retention pond, basically,
- 1:38:54Speaker 31: when the water got too high and would make the
- 1:38:57Speaker 31: flow go better.
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:38:59Speaker 31: You know, just like that, that didn't get put in
- 1:39:02Speaker 31: the play there.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: But..
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: I mean, it really deeply disturbs me when people say,
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: you know, the architect of the deeply flawed building. I mean,
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: I just think that somebody who writes something like that
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: is a total ass. And I just think you have
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: no understanding of this man, his character, and his knowledge.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: And it's like, okay, so that's what you're paid for.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: But you don't know what you're doing. In my opinion.
- 1:39:39Speaker 31: Ronnie, you know, you were talking about the regular callers
- 1:39:42Speaker 31: with that woman.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:39:44Speaker 31: She said, you know, cut them short. I was on
- 1:39:46Speaker 31: hold the whole time that woman was blathering on. But
- 1:39:49Speaker 31: she was a very interesting caller.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:39:54Speaker 31: I encourage her to call again.
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: So do I.
- 1:39:57Speaker 31: I'm like an irregular caller. I never know when I
- 1:40:00Speaker 31: got to go, but.
- 1:40:01Speaker 10: I got to go.
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: There he is. He's very irregular. He calls, he waits,
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: and he's always got to go. You're on the air.
- 1:40:08Speaker 12: Mr. Burb, how are you?
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: I'm doing well.
- 1:40:12Speaker 12: Good for you. Good for you. Listen, in addition to
- 1:40:16Speaker 12: what the... Blathering woman had to say that your other
- 1:40:20Speaker 12: caller just called her.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: He was just kidding. He was just making a joke.
- 1:40:24Speaker 12: Well, I don't get kidding in that voice.
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: He's a comedian. You get it.
- 1:40:32Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're all comedians. Anyway, I agree with
- 1:40:35Speaker 12: her a lot. Now, you had a four-hour program that
- 1:40:41Speaker 12: was really, if you... if you put all the minutes together,
- 1:40:47Speaker 12: it was probably three hours.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: Probably.
- 1:40:51Speaker 12: Because of all the ads and the off-the-air. So you
- 1:40:55Speaker 12: had an hour. I'd say you had at least an
- 1:40:57Speaker 12: hour to sit in that chair and go to sleep,
- 1:41:00Speaker 12: if you follow what I'm saying. But if not in
- 1:41:03Speaker 12: a row, I know. I know they're not all in
- 1:41:05Speaker 12: a row. Now that you have a three-hour show.
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: Guess what?
- 1:41:09Speaker 12: You're going to have... Two hours on you. And then
- 1:41:12Speaker 12: you have some callers that take up a lot of airtime.
- 1:41:18Speaker 12: A lot of airtime. And I'm not going to get
- 1:41:21Speaker 12: into names. So then, I mean, I hate to say this.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Go ahead, say it. It's not going to hurt my feelings.
- 1:41:30Speaker 12: I'm ready. No, I'm not trying to do that. I'm
- 1:41:34Speaker 12: not trying to do that.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: Go ahead, say it then.
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: Spit it out.
- 1:41:36Speaker 12: I'm just trying. I think I'm thinking logically here. So
- 1:41:40Speaker 12: what in the heck do you do for that huge
- 1:41:47Speaker 12: amount of money that you're getting and spending this 41 years?
- 1:41:52Speaker 12: I mean, come on. Let's cut that in half. Maybe
- 1:41:55Speaker 12: 20 years because of..
- 1:41:58Speaker 10: Anyway.
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: What am I doing with this?
- 1:42:00Speaker 12: I'm just trying to say that the on-air time is
- 1:42:06Speaker 12: not four hours. It's three hours. And it's not going
- 1:42:09Speaker 12: to be three hours anyway. You've got to do what
- 1:42:12Speaker 12: you've got to do. Okay, I understand.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: I get it. Now I'm starting to feel guilty.
- 1:42:18Speaker 12: Oh, I'm not trying to make you feel guilty.
- 1:42:20Speaker 7: No, you're making me feel guilty.
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: You're genuinely making me feel guilty. No, I'm not. You're
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: trying to get under my skin, and that's not very nice.
- 1:42:36Speaker 12: I would like to spend... If you noticed, I'm sure
- 1:42:39Speaker 12: you did when I called you on the phone, it
- 1:42:42Speaker 12: was usually 6 o'clock and beyond.
- 1:42:44Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:42:45Speaker 12: Because I was down in my little..
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: You were busy.
- 1:42:49Speaker 12: Making dinner and telling you what I, you know, but...
- 1:42:54Speaker 12: Now that's going to go to 3, you're going to
- 1:42:56Speaker 12: be off the air at 6 o'clock, plus all of
- 1:42:58Speaker 12: the other John Arnolds and the Beatrices and everything else.
- 1:43:05Speaker 12: I think the woman said she was on this phone
- 1:43:07Speaker 12: for an hour just waiting to get on the phone
- 1:43:10Speaker 12: to talk. And I have a lot to say, but
- 1:43:13Speaker 12: I can't do it anymore because... Between the hours of
- 1:43:17Speaker 12: 3 and 6, even though I'm retired, there's a lot
- 1:43:21Speaker 12: going on.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: What could possibly be going on? You're retired between 3
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: and 6.
- 1:43:26Speaker 12: Trust me. I don't sit around. I do not sit around.
- 1:43:31Speaker 12: There's a lot going on. And I just don't have
- 1:43:34Speaker 12: the time to sit and wait for that hour to
- 1:43:38Speaker 12: get on the air for 5 or 10 minutes. I
- 1:43:41Speaker 12: just don't. I'm sorry. I mean, I know you're saying.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: Well, I'm sorry. What are we breaking up?
- 1:43:51Speaker 12: That might be the situation. We might be breaking up.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: No, no, don't leave me.
- 1:43:56Speaker 12: No, you can't leave me.
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: You can't break up.
- 1:44:00Speaker 12: Just before you come, I mean, not before, but when
- 1:44:03Speaker 12: you come on air, you just don't come on the air.
- 1:44:07Speaker 12: and present. You do research. You read. You go on
- 1:44:12Speaker 12: the computer. You write things. It's more than just talking,
- 1:44:15Speaker 12: and I know that on the air. Well, guess what?
- 1:44:18Speaker 12: I do the same thing. I've got volumes of stuff
- 1:44:21Speaker 12: over here that I would really like to talk about,
- 1:44:25Speaker 12: and 95% of it is opposite of what you believe.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: Well, there's the problem.
- 1:44:34Speaker 12: I'm listening.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: I mean, it's opposite of what I believe. So how
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: accurate could it possibly be?
- 1:44:41Speaker 12: Yeah, I get it.
- 1:44:43Speaker 11: I get it.
- 1:44:44Speaker 12: And you're the master of the microphone there. You can
- 1:44:48Speaker 12: cut me off any time. And that brings me to
- 1:44:51Speaker 12: another thing. You should have– I wish you had more callers.
- 1:44:55Speaker 12: I really do. I wish you had not the same
- 1:44:58Speaker 12: ones in that– So, I mean, you're the one that
- 1:45:05Speaker 12: can push that button to get them off the air,
- 1:45:08Speaker 12: or you keep them on the air, whatever you want
- 1:45:10Speaker 12: to do.
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: See, I keep you on because there's something about you.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: There's something about you I find intriguing. I mean, it's
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: your voice.
- 1:45:19Speaker 12: We might have to break up here.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: No, I refuse to let you break up. If you
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: start saying it's not you, it's me, if you start
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: doing that to me, I'm going to start to cry.
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to weep like a baby. You
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: can't break up. I tell you what, you just call
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: in when we start at 3 o'clock, and you're not
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: shucking potatoes or anything like that at that time, and
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: we'll be able to carry on a discussion. Listen, you
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: know as well as I do, because you attended the
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: Kings rally, that I think you're like a knucklehead.
- 1:45:57Speaker 11: I can't wait for the next one.
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: And as I said, I am going to send a
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: boss lady down undercover in disguise looking for you at
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: the No Kings rally. She's going to pull up, screech
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: your tires in a van, and then shove you in
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: a van and bring you to my studio where I'll
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: try to deprogram you. I might have to waterboard you
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: like a CIA agent to get some sense into you
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: to say– What are you doing at the No Kings rally?
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: You know, I go to the promotion closet. I get
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: the cannon out of there that can fire this giant
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: net to put around some of you lunatics down there
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: at the No Kings rally and try to get you
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: the shock therapy that you need.
- 1:46:43Speaker 12: Well, there is no amount of... netting, there's no amount
- 1:46:51Speaker 12: of waterboarding that is going to change my mind with
- 1:46:54Speaker 12: this present administration. If there is... You would have to
- 1:47:01Speaker 12: eliminate me from the face of this earth.
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: Well, listen, you hear me that I totally disagree with
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: this war situation and what he got us involved in.
- 1:47:12Speaker 25: And I appreciate that.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: And the message is great. So I want you.
- 1:47:17Speaker 12: Months ago, this guy, it should have never happened in
- 1:47:21Speaker 12: the first place.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: Never.
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: Why do you dislike Trump so much outside of the war?
- 1:47:27Speaker 12: Trump is a master manipulator. He's manipulating the market. Now
- 1:47:33Speaker 12: he's got the tariffs coming back, what he wasn't supposed to.
- 1:47:37Speaker 12: Do you know what that's going to do? That's just
- 1:47:38Speaker 12: going to raise your prices again. You think you're paying
- 1:47:41Speaker 12: a lot for stuff now? Guess what? He just put
- 1:47:45Speaker 12: a whole world again. He put tariffs on whatever. So
- 1:47:50Speaker 12: why do I dislike this guy? He is a he's
- 1:47:52Speaker 12: a thief. This guy is a grifter thief. His companies
- 1:47:59Speaker 12: and his family are making billions of dollars. You keep
- 1:48:03Speaker 12: saying about how this country is going broke. It is broke.
- 1:48:09Speaker 12: He is part of that problem. The situation right now,
- 1:48:16Speaker 12: the most horrendous, the national security of this country is
- 1:48:22Speaker 12: under jeopardy because of Donald J.
- 1:48:25Speaker 18: Trump.
- 1:48:27Speaker 12: I cannot stand a guy. I wouldn't be able to
- 1:48:31Speaker 12: stand a guy if he wasn't president, if I just
- 1:48:33Speaker 12: happened to know him as a fellow human being that
- 1:48:37Speaker 12: I happened to run into. I don't like his personality
- 1:48:42Speaker 12: to me. I can't stand it.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: Have you ever voted for someone who wasn't a Democrat?
- 1:48:51Speaker 12: Say that again?
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: Have you ever voted for a Republican?
- 1:48:54Speaker 12: Yes, I have.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Well, that's surprising.
- 1:48:57Speaker 22: Really?
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: I told you that before.
- 1:49:00Speaker 12: I voted for Mr. Bush. The first Mr.
- 1:49:03Speaker 11: Bush.
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: Did you vote for Reagan?
- 1:49:06Speaker 12: No. I voted for Bush. Now, Bush was a president.
- 1:49:12Speaker 12: He was in the military. He was in the CIA.
- 1:49:17Speaker 12: He was involved in government in a way that, I mean,
- 1:49:21Speaker 12: he just was made for that position, in my opinion.
- 1:49:24Speaker 12: And that's why I voted for him.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:49:28Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I would like you to reconsider. I would want you
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: to call 3 o'clock, and I don't think we should
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: break up.
- 1:49:38Speaker 12: I'm not trying to be— I don't want to break up, though.
- 1:49:42Speaker 12: I'm not— I'm just telling you.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: There's things going on between— I'm not accepting your breaking
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: up with me.
- 1:49:47Speaker 12: All right, well— I'll give it some thought. I'll try
- 1:49:51Speaker 12: to work things, but there's things that don't. You'll see.
- 1:49:54Speaker 12: You'll have things to do when you return. You'll see.
- 1:49:57Speaker 12: You'll have things to do. You won't be with 41
- 1:50:01Speaker 12: years of doing what you're doing.
- 1:50:03Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: I got to go.
- 1:50:06Speaker 17: Gongstown's news, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:50:15Speaker 24: Ron, it took me almost everything I had. When you
- 1:50:18Speaker 24: were talking to Fifth Avenue, when he hung up, I
- 1:50:23Speaker 24: wanted the first thing to say, it's not you, it's me.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: I know, but I wouldn't let him say that. I
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: was waiting for him to say that to me as
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: he was trying to break up with me. Oh, it's
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: not you, it's me.
- 1:50:35Speaker 24: No, no.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: I'm not going to accept that. I'm not going to
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: accept his... I'm intrigued by the guy. I like the guy.
- 1:50:47Speaker 24: Well, you make me laugh, and you know I'm a fan.
- 1:50:52Speaker 24: I do kind of agree a little bit with the
- 1:50:54Speaker 24: woman that called. You know, there's some days where I just,
- 1:50:56Speaker 24: I'm like, you know, it's your show, so it happened,
- 1:50:59Speaker 24: but it's also my life, so I just say, I
- 1:51:02Speaker 24: just turn you off.
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: Well, that really hurts my feelings.
- 1:51:06Speaker 24: I know, that's why I'm telling you. I don't turn
- 1:51:08Speaker 24: you off every day, but there's some days where you
- 1:51:09Speaker 24: just go on with the same person.
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: Now you're piling on with the Fifth Avenue guy. Because
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: I love you. Well, see, you're still in love. That's
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: all that matters.
- 1:51:20Speaker 24: I love you. Yeah, I don't want to break up.
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: You know, you're the guru of Gerard. You're now the professor.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: Now you think you're better than the rest of us, huh?
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: Now you want.
- 1:51:27Speaker 11: Nothing to do with us. You know what I'm doing, Ron?
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: You know what I'm doing? Now you don't want anything
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: to do with the rest of us. Now you want
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: to run in those elite circles of those college people.
- 1:51:40Speaker 24: I'm chipping off mortar on bricks on a driveway that
- 1:51:44Speaker 24: was built in 1970.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: We'll get back to painting the garage.
- 1:51:50Speaker 24: Well, that's the color, but it was too hot. You
- 1:51:51Speaker 24: can't really paint when it's that hot. So I went
- 1:51:53Speaker 24: down to the oak tree and I started power washing.
- 1:51:57Speaker 24: And that driveway is looking awesome. You know, I mean,
- 1:52:01Speaker 24: you asked about the economy. That's what I do when
- 1:52:03Speaker 24: it's like this. I did this last time. It was horrible.
- 1:52:06Speaker 24: I remember when Obama was first in. I just do
- 1:52:09Speaker 24: stuff around the house. It doesn't cost anything, and I hope.
- 1:52:12Speaker 24: that enough money comes in to cover my bills because
- 1:52:15Speaker 24: I'm not spending anything. That's my mode of operation.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Then don't go in debt. Don't go in debt.
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: That's what I mean.
- 1:52:21Speaker 24: It's like, I don't need it if I'm not spending it, right?
- 1:52:24Speaker 13: Right.
- 1:52:24Speaker 24: So I just try to limit everything I can. My
- 1:52:27Speaker 24: wife goes, why don't you just get a new driveway?
- 1:52:29Speaker 24: You're out there like all day doing that. I was like, okay,
- 1:52:32Speaker 24: if you give me $ 10, 000.
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: I'll have it.
- 1:52:33Speaker 24: I'll come and I'll have them for a whole big
- 1:52:35Speaker 24: slab of company.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: What is your driveway all cracked up and not even?
- 1:52:40Speaker 24: Oh, It's actually beautiful now. I mean, it's a brick
- 1:52:43Speaker 24: driveway that doubles long. Oh, okay. But it had cracks
- 1:52:48Speaker 24: in it, cracked bricks. Well, the guy who built it
- 1:52:51Speaker 24: years ago, he left all these bricks in the backyard
- 1:52:53Speaker 24: that I never got rid of. I just kind of, like,
- 1:52:54Speaker 24: found a place to put them. So I can replace
- 1:52:58Speaker 24: this whole thing. with just labor and with like almost
- 1:53:01Speaker 24: brand new looking bricks for basically free for like some.
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: And I bet you that driveway's beautiful as opposed to
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: a concrete driveway. I mean, there's nothing more beautiful than
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: a brick road. I mean, look how long those brick
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: roads lasted. When I came here, South Avenue was still
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: a brick road, and you had some dips in it
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: and that kind of stuff, but that thing lasted forever.
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: Now it's paved over. They paved over the bricks. Now
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: you've got potholes and everything. I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: You tell your wife. that you're going to keep the
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: brick driveway because that looks spectacular. Don't ever do away
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: with it.
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: Oh, we're committed now, man. You should see.
- 1:53:40Speaker 24: But I relate this conversation and this effort into your
- 1:53:44Speaker 24: library talk, too. I was thinking about it as it
- 1:53:46Speaker 24: was like, yeah, I could throw away all these bricks
- 1:53:50Speaker 24: and get some concrete that would crack in a year.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:53:53Speaker 24: And pay $ 10, 000 to do it.
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: Or go the old.
- 1:53:57Speaker 24: Way, because this really is, it's like labor intensive. If
- 1:54:00Speaker 24: you didn't live here, you couldn't afford to.
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: Have it done.
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:54:03Speaker 12: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:54:04Speaker 24: I got here anyway.
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:54:07Speaker 24: But maintenance will end up in the end. I'll have
- 1:54:12Speaker 24: a lot more for a lot less money, and it's
- 1:54:14Speaker 24: going to look really great.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: Right. Exactly. And you'll take pride in it.
- 1:54:20Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:54:21Speaker 24: I just called to tell you happy. I hope you
- 1:54:23Speaker 24: have a nice weekend and everything, and I just enjoyed
- 1:54:26Speaker 24: your show and all that. But then I was listening
- 1:54:28Speaker 24: to your callers on the hour I was on hold.
- 1:54:32Speaker 31: You know what?
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: You just like the cheap shot, don't you? I mean, really.
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: Really.
- 1:54:39Speaker 24: Couldn't you just feel that going inside you?
- 1:54:40Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: Yes, I can.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: Yes, I 100% can. I said, you know, I said,
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: if anybody would... To have sympathy, it'd be Michael, the
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: guru of Gerard, the professor. But no, he's just as
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: vicious as anybody. Vicious, vicious, vicious.
- 1:54:57Speaker 24: Hey, I call, but I don't call all that often.
- 1:54:59Speaker 24: I don't call every day. I used to call a
- 1:55:00Speaker 24: lot back when I was a captive audience on the highway.
- 1:55:03Speaker 24: That's how we met.
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: But you used to be a lot smarter then.
- 1:55:06Speaker 24: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:55:09Speaker 12: That part is true.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: Oh, hey, listen. You're a sharp guy when it comes
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: to war, and you're a sharp guy when it comes
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: to AI and all that kind of stuff. You know it.
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: But fix the bricks. I mean, I'm glad you're doing something.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: And take your wife out to eat tonight, all right?
- 1:55:25Speaker 24: She already made some chili and stuff.
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: We might probably go out tomorrow.
- 1:55:28Speaker 9: I mean, we'll go up the.
- 1:55:29Speaker 13: Harbor or something.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: I think I'm going to take my wife over to
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: Fifth Avenue's house and make them cook something. I'll see
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: you later.
- 1:55:36Speaker 12: All right, man.
- 1:55:37Speaker 25: See you later.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: Thank you. Back in a minute, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Let's
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: start here. So good morning and welcome.
- 1:55:45Speaker 12: We are now underway.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: We are following the events of the day. What we're
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: just now hearing about.
- 1:55:50Speaker 11: This is new information.
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Throughout the day.
- 1:55:53Speaker 12: Good day.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: This is where it stands now. Pick up the conversation.
- 1:55:57Speaker 14: We'll talk about what's happening anytime.
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: The deal we reached with Iran.
- 1:56:00Speaker 18: The devil's in the details.
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: Bringing the price of gasoline down. Maintain the Fed funds rate.
- 1:56:05Speaker 11: Tying Pfizer to the save act. NATO has been a.
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: Paper tiger for the very latest. We'll see how that
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: all plays out. News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 1:56:13Speaker 14: A 36-year-old Canfield man was under indictment over a crash
- 1:56:21Speaker 14: last year that killed an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.
- 1:56:25Speaker 16: Ryan Rack is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. and vehicular assault.
- 1:56:30Speaker 16: The wreck killed Trooper Nicholas Caton. The CDC is sending
- 1:56:34Speaker 16: detectives to Ohio to look into the cyclosporiasis outbreak. The
- 1:56:39Speaker 16: Ohio Department of Health has requested help from the CDC
- 1:56:44Speaker 16: in pinpointing the source of the parasites causing rising numbers
- 1:56:48Speaker 16: of illnesses. The experts are going to be interviewing individuals
- 1:56:52Speaker 16: who have tested positive for cyclosporae Over the next three weeks,
- 1:56:57Speaker 16: over 2,000 cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported in Ohio
- 1:57:03Speaker 16: since June 23rd.
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: I'm Matt Reese.
- 1:57:06Speaker 4: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: and sports radio.
- 1:57:11Speaker 3: Podcasts, too.
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: Download the app.
- 1:57:14Speaker 10: Free.
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: Never sounded so good. A to Z dependable services.
- 1:57:19Speaker 17: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. All right, I've
- 1:57:24Speaker 17: got to move quick. I think I've got G2 on
- 1:57:26Speaker 17: one of my lines.
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: Hello.
- 1:57:28Speaker 12: Hey, Ron.
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: Dick from Dayton. What did you think about the Cavaliers?
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: Yeah, how come LeBron decided not to return? I don't know.
- 1:57:37Speaker 10: I wish he would have. It's kind of bad, isn't it?
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: Yeah, the dream has come to an end for me.
- 1:57:42Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I guess he chose it. I wanted him
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: back there, didn't you? Yes. I did.
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: Yes, I did. Yeah, well, we'll have to just live on,
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: won't we? It makes it hard.
- 1:57:53Speaker 11: Yeah, well, I thought I'd tell you about it.
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: It's sports-related, right?
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: You got it. Thank you, Dick, from Dayton. You're on
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: the air. Moving to G2. Yes, Ted the Conservative.
- 1:58:05Speaker 25: Boy, oh boy, so much to say, but I don't
- 1:58:07Speaker 25: think we have enough time. You got G2 coming up.
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: Yeah. We'll say quickly then.
- 1:58:11Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:58:12Speaker 25: Well, I'll say the quick stuff first. The last thing
- 1:58:14Speaker 25: is going to take some time because I disagree with
- 1:58:17Speaker 25: you on everything I read. An intelligent caller heard me
- 1:58:21Speaker 25: talk about the library last week and how deplorable looking
- 1:58:26Speaker 25: and today there's crews out there working on the exterior
- 1:58:28Speaker 25: of the building, which I thought was interesting.
- 1:58:31Speaker 12: Very.
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: We've changed J.J.
- 1:58:33Speaker 13: How about that, huh?
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:58:35Speaker 25: We've changed J.J. 's name to the Trumpster.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: J.J. the Trumpster.
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: J.J. the Trumpster.
- 1:58:40Speaker 25: And I think after the whining call we just heard
- 1:58:43Speaker 25: from Fifth Avenue, I think I've got to change his name.
- 1:58:45Speaker 25: I think he'll be the new liberal. He can be
- 1:58:47Speaker 25: Frank the Fifth Avenue liberal. Kind of fitting. You live
- 1:58:51Speaker 25: on Fifth Avenue up there, you know, up the people.
- 1:58:55Speaker 25: you know, living in the kitchen in the basement. I
- 1:58:58Speaker 25: think Fifth Avenue, Frank, Fifth Avenue, the liberals sound good.
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: J.J.
- 1:59:02Speaker 25: And G2, good opportunity. I heard him going off on
- 1:59:05Speaker 25: G2 all week, especially calling him Vladimir.
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:59:09Speaker 25: And I thought, well, he's very pro-Ukrainian, and I believe
- 1:59:14Speaker 25: Zelensky's first name is something like Voldemort. So maybe one
- 1:59:19Speaker 25: day you could have Voldemort on, and you could have
- 1:59:23Speaker 25: G2 on, maybe these guys could settle the war. What
- 1:59:25Speaker 25: do you think?
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: So you want to, you mean JJ playing a part
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: of Voldemir and G2 playing.
- 1:59:32Speaker 13: A part of Vladimir.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: I don't think I could get the name straight.
- 1:59:38Speaker 25: How about that? JJ's been on a roll lately, you know?
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: He's done some excellent stuff, yeah.
- 1:59:45Speaker 25: Now, Iran, so you want Trump to wave the white
- 1:59:47Speaker 25: flag and come home?
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: I think it's a disaster. I don't see it. In
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: all seriousness, I don't see a good way out of
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: this at all. I genuinely don't.
- 1:59:58Speaker 10: You are where your feet are. We're at war.
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: But we will see. I mean, you know, I could
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: be wrong. It would be the first time. Let's see
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: what happens. I'm not optimistic.
- 2:00:05Speaker 25: I'm going to throw two things at you. We'll hear
- 2:00:07Speaker 25: what G2 has to say. And maybe next week you
- 2:00:09Speaker 25: and I can discuss it in more detail.
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:00:12Speaker 25: And I'm not trying to be critical of your thinking,
- 2:00:15Speaker 25: but I think you're dead wrong. And I'm going to
- 2:00:17Speaker 25: show two examples that are similar in my opinion. We
- 2:00:21Speaker 25: agree on most things, but we disagree occasionally. And I'm
- 2:00:24Speaker 25: going to show two examples why I think you're wrong.
- 2:00:26Speaker 25: I want to take you back to the days of
- 2:00:28Speaker 25: Pearl Harbor before Japan bombed us. Our intelligence had very
- 2:00:32Speaker 25: good reason to believe they were going to attack our
- 2:00:35Speaker 25: Pacific fleet, but they just didn't want to believe the intelligence.
- 2:00:39Speaker 25: So at the 12th hour... After the bombing occurred, they
- 2:00:42Speaker 25: sent a notice to Pearl Harbor and said, hey, be
- 2:00:45Speaker 25: on alert. Japan's coming. Well, guess what?
- 2:00:47Speaker 18: It was too late.
- 2:00:48Speaker 25: Now, let's fast forward to 9-11. We had intelligence telling
- 2:00:52Speaker 25: us that there was going to be an attack.
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: On the homeland.
- 2:00:55Speaker 10: Okay?
- 2:00:56Speaker 25: Didn't want to believe it, did we? Again, reactionary. Because
- 2:01:00Speaker 25: folks like you just didn't want to believe it. Now,
- 2:01:03Speaker 25: you've got a country in Iran. Let me ask you,
- 2:01:06Speaker 25: how many Americans have they murdered with their proxy? How
- 2:01:09Speaker 25: many military people have they murdered? How many civilians have
- 2:01:11Speaker 25: they murdered?
- 2:01:12Speaker 3: It's countless.
- 2:01:13Speaker 25: You can't even answer that question. So we're not supposed
- 2:01:17Speaker 25: to believe them when they tell us, when they can't
- 2:01:20Speaker 25: death to America, death to Israel. We know that they're
- 2:01:23Speaker 25: building a bomb.
- 2:01:25Speaker 16: Right?
- 2:01:26Speaker 25: So do you want to be like we were at
- 2:01:28Speaker 25: Pearl Harbor? Do you want another Pearl Harbor? Do you
- 2:01:31Speaker 25: want another 9-11? Or do you want a president who
- 2:01:34Speaker 25: has the basketballs to make the tough decisions. The guy
- 2:01:39Speaker 25: you voted for, because you thought.
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: He would make the tough decisions for America. I'll let
- 2:01:44Speaker 1: that statement stand, and we'll carry on a conversation about it.
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: I just don't agree with it. I don't view him
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: as a threat like that at all. And I think
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: the ramifications that are going to be Potential, and it's
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: my speculation, could be very detrimental to the economy. I
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: think the economy's in a terrible spot right now. I'll
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: put on G2, and you call me Monday, and we'll
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: have this discussion, because I look forward to it.
- 2:02:11Speaker 25: Okay, I'd like to hear G2' s response to what I
- 2:02:14Speaker 25: just said, too.
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 2:02:15Speaker 25: I'll call you next week. I'll be in New Jersey,
- 2:02:17Speaker 25: but I'll call you.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 2:02:20Speaker 10: I just want to point out and congratulate Trump on
- 2:02:25Speaker 10: the fantastic work he's done on the economy.
- 2:02:27Speaker 1: It's gone great.
- 2:02:28Speaker 10: Especially inflation. But not just inflation. The price of gasoline.
- 2:02:36Speaker 10: I mean, you think about this.
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: Now, what happened here?
- 2:02:38Speaker 9: J.J.
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: Has become a Trumpster. Is G2 becoming a liberal? What
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: the hell's going on?
- 2:02:43Speaker 10: If you look at inflation right now, taking into account
- 2:02:47Speaker 10: something like 50 million data points, it's a 2.11%. It's
- 2:02:51Speaker 10: an astonishing low number, given how much money Congress is spending. Okay, Frank,
- 2:02:59Speaker 10: and the Fed and all your stuff. The government is
- 2:03:02Speaker 10: pumping huge amounts of money into the economy, money we
- 2:03:06Speaker 10: should not be pumping into the economy. And yet inflation
- 2:03:10Speaker 10: is at 2.11%. That's an incredible achievement. Now, if you
- 2:03:15Speaker 10: look at gasoline, gasoline is 93 cents below the 2022 peak,
- 2:03:22Speaker 10: which is incredible given that we have two wars going on.
- 2:03:25Speaker 10: and this disaster in California. Frank made a point earlier.
- 2:03:29Speaker 10: I cut some of Frank's call. He made a point
- 2:03:31Speaker 10: about Southwest shipping jet fuel from the Gulf Coast over
- 2:03:36Speaker 10: through the Panama Canal to California. Now, why is the question? Because,
- 2:03:42Speaker 10: of course, you could just assume it's the hormones straight
- 2:03:45Speaker 10: being closed. But, of course, that would ignore the destruction
- 2:03:49Speaker 10: of all the refining capacity in California that's been destroyed.
- 2:03:53Speaker 10: And they're continuing to shut down. They're down to just
- 2:03:55Speaker 10: a handful of refineries, and they're shutting those down. I
- 2:03:57Speaker 10: think some recently already shut. So you've dramatically contracted refining
- 2:04:03Speaker 10: capacity on the West Coast, eliminating the normal sources of
- 2:04:07Speaker 10: jet fuel, gasoline, and diesel. And in doing that, created
- 2:04:10Speaker 10: a national security threat, because even our military bases out
- 2:04:14Speaker 10: there that need jet fuel to fly fighters, they have
- 2:04:18Speaker 10: to now source it elsewhere.
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: They have to import it.
- 2:04:22Speaker 10: So what Newsom and the California government, these lunatics, have
- 2:04:26Speaker 10: done is not only created a tight market for things
- 2:04:30Speaker 10: like diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel, but they've created national
- 2:04:33Speaker 10: security risk for absolutely no reason other than their mad
- 2:04:38Speaker 10: lunacy and corruption. And what's the other reason? Well, of course,
- 2:04:42Speaker 10: the other reason is the war in Ukraine. You remember
- 2:04:45Speaker 10: Boris Johnson kept it going that lunatics in Europe want
- 2:04:48Speaker 10: to keep it going. No one will ever accept any
- 2:04:50Speaker 10: kind of a settlement. So what has that done? Well, now,
- 2:04:54Speaker 10: with all the money and the support that is being
- 2:04:58Speaker 10: provided to Ukraine, they are beginning to attack deep inside
- 2:05:02Speaker 10: of Russia, and they've begun taking out refining capacity. So
- 2:05:05Speaker 10: you now have shortages of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel
- 2:05:11Speaker 10: in Russia. So this war is beginning now to affect
- 2:05:17Speaker 10: global energy markets in a way that it hadn't for
- 2:05:21Speaker 10: a long time, because there were... We sunk some Russian ships,
- 2:05:24Speaker 10: and they attacked inside Ukraine and everything. It really hadn't
- 2:05:29Speaker 10: amounted to much in terms of impact on the oil markets.
- 2:05:34Speaker 10: But now it is. So if you go back over
- 2:05:36Speaker 10: the last six months, they've stopped exporting gasoline, diesel, and
- 2:05:41Speaker 10: jet fuel out of Russia. And we were really needing
- 2:05:45Speaker 10: that to continue in order to offset what's going on
- 2:05:47Speaker 10: in the Strait. And that's the third factor, of course,
- 2:05:49Speaker 10: of the Strait of Hormuz. where you had 21% of
- 2:05:52Speaker 10: the world's oil coming through, or 20% roughly, and it
- 2:05:55Speaker 10: got shut off. Now you've got Saudi using the pipeline.
- 2:05:57Speaker 10: We've covered that. And there are problems with that. They're
- 2:05:59Speaker 10: not getting as much out as they would if the
- 2:06:01Speaker 10: Strait was open. You've got UAE getting some out by pipeline. Overall,
- 2:06:04Speaker 10: there's a reduction. One oil expert I was talking to
- 2:06:07Speaker 10: put it down to about 4 million barrels a day.
- 2:06:09Speaker 10: Others say it's more. Whatever it is, we would like
- 2:06:12Speaker 10: to get that opened up again. But think about this.
- 2:06:17Speaker 10: Donald Trump is fighting a war that results in the
- 2:06:20Speaker 10: closure of the Strait of Hormuz. He's only drawn down
- 2:06:23Speaker 10: the Strategic Patrolling Reserve by 68 million barrels.
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: I don't know if that factor is true. What I
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: saw is that it's at its lowest level since 1985.
- 2:06:34Speaker 1: But let me respond to some of the stuff you said.
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: Just bear with me for a second. Here's what the
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: problem is. If you want to sit there and try
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: to say to people, everything's great. The economy's great. But
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: wait a second.
- 2:06:50Speaker 10: I know your point.
- 2:06:50Speaker 1: That's what they were trying to do with Biden. Don't
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: you remember when this was all going on with Biden?
- 2:06:54Speaker 10: The strategic petroleum reserve was drawn down by Biden by
- 2:06:58Speaker 10: 224 million barrels. 224 million barrels. No war in sight.
- 2:07:06Speaker 10: Donald Trump has drawn down 68 million barrels. So here's
- 2:07:09Speaker 10: the problem. While you've got all these good statistics, of
- 2:07:14Speaker 10: course the price of gasoline has come up commensurate with
- 2:07:16Speaker 10: the attack on Iran. But the attack on Iran is
- 2:07:23Speaker 10: an actual war, the reason for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
- 2:07:26Speaker 10: And yet Trump has drawn down a fraction of the amount.
- 2:07:29Speaker 10: So the irresponsible behavior that you and I spent a
- 2:07:33Speaker 10: lot of time covering of the Democrats drawing down the
- 2:07:37Speaker 10: SPR for no reason but to try to offset their
- 2:07:40Speaker 10: bad energy policy, have put us in a place of jeopardy.
- 2:07:44Speaker 1: No, no, I just want to emphasize something.
- 2:07:46Speaker 10: What's happening now?
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: And here's what AI says. President Trump authorized drawing down
- 2:07:52Speaker 1: a strategic petroleum reserve. He approved the release of 172
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: million barrels of oil from the stockpile to help lower emissions.
- 2:08:00Speaker 1: energy prices. That's 172 million barrels.
- 2:08:06Speaker 25: Trump.
- 2:08:07Speaker 10: You say the decline under Biden was 244.5 million barrels
- 2:08:12Speaker 10: and the decline under Trump is 69.4 million barrels.
- 2:08:15Speaker 1: Is the strategic oil reserve at one of its lowest
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: points since 1985?
- 2:08:18Speaker 18: Yes.
- 2:08:20Speaker 10: Yes, don't you wish we had that 244 million barrels
- 2:08:22Speaker 10: back in?
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: But we don't, and he's drawing it down further. So
- 2:08:26Speaker 1: are gasoline and oil prices being manipulated by going into
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: the strategic oil reserves so that we're not really seeing
- 2:08:35Speaker 1: the full effect of this war? There's a reason why
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: he's going into it.
- 2:08:39Speaker 10: It's not manipulation. It was there in case of a
- 2:08:42Speaker 10: disruption of the global oil markets. There is a disruption,
- 2:08:46Speaker 10: one in Russia.
- 2:08:47Speaker 1: Okay, what do you do when you reach the low?
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: What's the next move then? Here's the problem.
- 2:08:53Speaker 10: Because the Democrats drew down the 244 million barrels, we're
- 2:08:59Speaker 10: now down at this all-time low.
- 2:09:01Speaker 1: Well, what do you do now? What do you do
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: when you're done tapping it? Where do you go now?
- 2:09:06Speaker 11: Well, that's a separate question.
- 2:09:07Speaker 10: But what I'm trying to point out to you is
- 2:09:09Speaker 10: that You know, you're taking all this inflation that came
- 2:09:12Speaker 10: at the hands of these other administrations, Democrat and Republican,
- 2:09:15Speaker 10: the $ 40 trillion of debt, and you're dumping it on Trump. Now,
- 2:09:19Speaker 10: I will tell you that this Congress and Trump have
- 2:09:21Speaker 10: signed off on massive spending bills, the big ugly bill,
- 2:09:25Speaker 10: this ridiculous defense bill. So they are definitely contributing to inflation.
- 2:09:30Speaker 10: But his policies have offset so much of that that
- 2:09:34Speaker 10: inflation is now down to 2%. The problem is that's
- 2:09:36Speaker 10: on top of the 30% that came last. under the Democrats.
- 2:09:40Speaker 10: And so you're trying to attribute all of that to Trump.
- 2:09:44Speaker 10: We've got to look at this more.
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: So here you are saying that, well, as a result
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: of this war, well into this situation, we saw where
- 2:09:53Speaker 1: Trump was taking this inflation before the war. And prices
- 2:09:57Speaker 1: were down and they were going down. Then we've seen
- 2:09:59Speaker 1: it spring back up. But you're going to say, well,
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: that's not Trump's fault. That's Biden's fault. At what point
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: does Trump take ownership of this?
- 2:10:11Speaker 10: What I'm telling you is we're at 2.11% today. That's
- 2:10:15Speaker 10: where inflation is right now.
- 2:10:17Speaker 6: Today.
- 2:10:19Speaker 10: That's where it is. Now, the 30% that came before
- 2:10:22Speaker 10: is not from Trump. You know that.
- 2:10:27Speaker 1: You remind me of the people that were trying to
- 2:10:29Speaker 1: tell everybody how good it was under Biden. You're doing
- 2:10:32Speaker 1: the same scenario that they did under Biden, telling people
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: how great everything was. And people said, but I'm not
- 2:10:41Speaker 1: feeling that. I'm not talking about feelings.
- 2:10:46Speaker 10: This is about data.
- 2:10:48Speaker 1: No, but here's the reality. It's called consumer confidence. I'm
- 2:10:52Speaker 1: pretty sure people out there aren't feeling things are going
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: that great.
- 2:10:57Speaker 10: Ron, what I'm saying is, if you want to analyze this,
- 2:11:00Speaker 10: you have to look at the actual numbers and not
- 2:11:02Speaker 10: just the feelings.
- 2:11:04Speaker 1: Okay, so what people..
- 2:11:04Speaker 10: The numbers say the following.
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: All right. Things are going well. Whatever.
- 2:11:10Speaker 10: The numbers say we're at 2.11%. You might wish it
- 2:11:13Speaker 10: was 12 or 9 or 7, but it's not.
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: Do you think the economy's in a good spot right now?
- 2:11:21Speaker 13: No.
- 2:11:21Speaker 1: Do you think gas prices are high?
- 2:11:24Speaker 10: No.
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: Oh, so you think $ 4 a gallon is fine?
- 2:11:28Speaker 10: It's $ 0. 93 less than the peak we had just a
- 2:11:30Speaker 10: few years ago.
- 2:11:31Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. It's $ 4 a gallon. Do you think
- 2:11:33Speaker 1: people are enjoying paying it?
- 2:11:36Speaker 10: Oh, no.
- 2:11:37Speaker 1: They want it low. Okay, so it was $ 2. 50 before
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: the war started. But you want to tell me, well,
- 2:11:43Speaker 1: at the peak it was this. Well, it was down
- 2:11:45Speaker 1: to $ 2.
- 2:11:45Speaker 10: 50.
- 2:11:46Speaker 1: Now it's up to $ 4. You don't think people get
- 2:11:48Speaker 1: pissed by that and that affects their economics?
- 2:11:51Speaker 10: Of course it does.
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: Then why are you trying to justify it by saying, well,
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: it used to be this high, now it's only this high. Well,
- 2:12:01Speaker 1: it's still too damn high.
- 2:12:03Speaker 10: Okay, but if we don't look at the actual drivers
- 2:12:06Speaker 10: of things, we can't understand them. And when you shut
- 2:12:09Speaker 10: down massive amounts of refining capacity... you affect the price
- 2:12:13Speaker 10: of gas.
- 2:12:14Speaker 1: When you curtail the amount of oil as a result
- 2:12:17Speaker 1: of the strait being closed and the war that you
- 2:12:19Speaker 1: started and millions of barrels that are off the market,
- 2:12:22Speaker 1: not four million, I think way beyond that, it's going
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: to have a big effect on the price of oil. Period.
- 2:12:30Speaker 1: You don't think it does?
- 2:12:32Speaker 10: Well, of course the Strait of Hormuz being closed has
- 2:12:34Speaker 10: affected the price of oil.
- 2:12:36Speaker 1: Do you think it's affected the price of nitrogen and fertilizer?
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: Of course it has.
- 2:12:40Speaker 10: I've never said it hasn't.
- 2:12:41Speaker 1: And it's creating inflation?
- 2:12:44Speaker 10: I told you what inflation is right now today. It's 2.11%.
- 2:12:47Speaker 10: You may not like the number, but that's the number.
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: Do you think that... This justification reminds me exactly of
- 2:12:55Speaker 1: the Democrats under Biden. They were doing the same thing.
- 2:13:00Speaker 1: They were doing the same thing. And then they lost
- 2:13:02Speaker 1: the election. And they said, I don't understand why we lost.
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: We told everybody how great everything was. Well, you're trying
- 2:13:09Speaker 1: to do the same thing now.
- 2:13:10Speaker 10: I'm not saying any of the things you're saying. Here's
- 2:13:14Speaker 10: what I'm saying. The vast majority of the drawdown of
- 2:13:17Speaker 10: the Strategic Petroleum Reserve came under the Democrats, who did
- 2:13:20Speaker 10: it specifically to offset bad energy policy in order to
- 2:13:24Speaker 10: protect them in the midterms. And in 24. 244 million barrels.
- 2:13:31Speaker 10: Trump has drawn down a fraction of that at 68
- 2:13:34Speaker 10: million barrels. A fraction of it. So this whole problem
- 2:13:38Speaker 10: with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve came before he got in. Now,
- 2:13:41Speaker 10: that's a factor he should have considered.
- 2:13:43Speaker 1: We got a break. We got a break. Stand by.
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: We'll be right back. The GBN. Ron, we're conversating with
- 2:13:52Speaker 1: the G2. I'll read it again right here. As part
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: of the effort, President Trump authorized the Department of Energy
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: to release 172 million barrels for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: 172 million barrels. It's not 69 million. It's 172 million.
- 2:14:09Speaker 10: I'm talking about the actual levels in the tanks.
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: A hundred and seventy two million. So they're releasing this
- 2:14:16Speaker 1: to keep oil prices low. I mean, when I say
- 2:14:19Speaker 1: you remind me of the Democrats, the Democrats are trying
- 2:14:21Speaker 1: to tell everybody how low inflation was, how great the
- 2:14:25Speaker 1: economy was doing. And people said, are you nuts? Now
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: you're coming now you're coming on saying, well, you know,
- 2:14:31Speaker 1: gas prices used to be whatever. Five bucks a gallon.
- 2:14:34Speaker 1: They're only four or four. So we should be happy
- 2:14:37Speaker 1: about that. Well, they're still ridiculously high. I mean, you're
- 2:14:41Speaker 1: trying to convince everybody, hey, you know, when we weren't
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: buying the inflation numbers for Biden, you're going right back
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: to the trap that they were using, trying to tell
- 2:14:48Speaker 1: everybody things are really good. Do you really believe that?
- 2:14:53Speaker 10: I that's your language. I never said that.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: I think things suck.
- 2:14:56Speaker 10: I'm telling you, data point and.
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: Inflation is there. It's growing. And he was bringing it
- 2:15:04Speaker 1: down and he brought a gas prices down.
- 2:15:07Speaker 10: And now it's one point six three or something like that.
- 2:15:10Speaker 10: It's up like point six from one point something like that.
- 2:15:13Speaker 10: It was down about one. I don't think it got
- 2:15:15Speaker 10: below one.
- 2:15:15Speaker 1: Boy, I don't understand why things aren't soaring. I don't
- 2:15:21Speaker 1: know why people aren't rejoicing in Trump's popularity. Why is
- 2:15:25Speaker 1: it so low then? Things are going great according to statistics.
- 2:15:30Speaker 10: No, that's not. You're not hearing me. What I'm telling
- 2:15:33Speaker 10: you is these are actual facts. That's the world we
- 2:15:37Speaker 10: live in.
- 2:15:38Speaker 1: So let's look at it clear-eyed. And where is his
- 2:15:42Speaker 1: approval rating with the actual facts that say how great
- 2:15:45Speaker 1: things are?
- 2:15:47Speaker 10: I'm not saying things are great. I'm telling you where
- 2:15:49Speaker 10: we are.
- 2:15:50Speaker 1: Well, where do you think we are?
- 2:15:52Speaker 11: Well, we're at.
- 2:15:53Speaker 10: Gas that's still 93 cents below the peak. We've got 2.11% inflation,
- 2:15:58Speaker 10: not excluding anything, including we've got rents falling in several
- 2:16:02Speaker 10: major cities. We've got a strategic patrolling reserve that is
- 2:16:09Speaker 10: in desperate need. Now, the purpose of that is war,
- 2:16:12Speaker 10: is to protect us during war. And now we're in war.
- 2:16:15Speaker 10: And we're short by about 244 million barrels because the
- 2:16:18Speaker 10: Democrats pumped it out to protect their elections. That's where
- 2:16:22Speaker 10: we are. That's just reality. Now, we also have this
- 2:16:27Speaker 10: war that no one understands and no one's prepared to
- 2:16:29Speaker 10: figure out what to do about it. Because nobody, Trump
- 2:16:34Speaker 10: and the Israelis never effectively sold this war to the
- 2:16:37Speaker 10: American people. They never explained it properly. Nobody bought the
- 2:16:41Speaker 10: nuclear story.
- 2:16:42Speaker 11: I still don't.
- 2:16:44Speaker 10: And so now they're into it, likely with a whole
- 2:16:47Speaker 10: dose of deceit from Mossad and overconfidence on Trump's part.
- 2:16:53Speaker 11: And now what do you do?
- 2:16:54Speaker 10: Well, you've got to find a path out. So one
- 2:16:57Speaker 10: of the lies we're told every day is that Iran
- 2:17:00Speaker 10: gets stronger every day. But that's just preposterous. That's ridiculous.
- 2:17:07Speaker 3: They don't.
- 2:17:08Speaker 10: And if there is going to be another round of negotiations,
- 2:17:11Speaker 10: that's fine, but I don't think Trump should stop attacking
- 2:17:16Speaker 10: until he's ready to permanently withdraw. He should not stop
- 2:17:20Speaker 10: attacking for negotiations. He should continue pressing on until he's
- 2:17:24Speaker 10: ready to withdraw. There should not be another stop in
- 2:17:28Speaker 10: this thing until it's over. So you got to make
- 2:17:32Speaker 10: this call. Are you simply going to walk away? And
- 2:17:37Speaker 10: if so, what are the implications of that? Or are
- 2:17:39Speaker 10: you going to stay in And what are the costs
- 2:17:42Speaker 10: and what are the implications of that?
- 2:17:43Speaker 1: That'll be a discussion we'll have next week with G2.
- 2:17:46Speaker 1: Stay tuned. Sean's next.
