- 0:00And I can only imagine her performances.
- 0:02She would fly around the stadium. She
- 0:04did it at Allegant. She did it at
- 0:05T-Mobile when you saw it.
- 0:07>> And the sphere is like even bigger.
- 0:09>> Prefix. Is that included or do you have
- 0:11to pay for that?
- 0:12>> That's included. A prefix menu with a
- 0:13menu that is already set for you.
- 0:15>> I know. But one there's a there's five.
- 0:18So Uber is going to lose a lot of
- 0:20drivers. A lot of people are going to
- 0:21lose jobs if they have self-driving
- 0:22cars. That's That's too bad. I don't
- 0:24like that.
- 0:24>> I was wrong about this. Uh-oh. I said
- 0:27that I thought that they they went.
- 0:36>> All right, guys. So, this week's lead
- 0:38story,
- 0:40>> rumor mill. It's not official. We'll see
- 0:43what happens, but I'm hoping for it.
- 0:45>> Yes,
- 0:46>> Pink might be coming to the street.
- 0:47>> There you go.
- 0:47>> We had uh Metallica last couple weeks
- 0:50been talking about that and they kept on
- 0:51adding dates.
- 0:52>> This is rumored for 2027. Supposedly,
- 0:55she's quote unquote all but signed.
- 0:56>> How cute this is. Even here on on the on
- 0:59the computer, you put a exclamation for
- 1:01the eye.
- 1:02>> Yeah, cuz that's how she does it.
- 1:03>> Yeah. I I didn't know that. But that's
- 1:05great. It looks very pink.
- 1:08>> Yeah.
- 1:09>> Yeah. So, be the first solo female
- 1:11artist there.
- 1:12>> Okay.
- 1:13>> So,
- 1:14>> when we saw her, she had a female solo
- 1:16artist open for her.
- 1:18>> Who would that have been?
- 1:19>> I don't know what her name was. She was
- 1:20good. She had one really big song. I
- 1:22think that it uh yeah it was show crow
- 1:25when we saw her at Allegian. I think
- 1:26that's who open for her. I remember it
- 1:28definitely wasn't open for somebody that
- 1:29we saw. At any rate, I'm super excited
- 1:32about this. Uh I might catch some flack
- 1:34for this. It's okay. I'm used to it. I
- 1:36catch lots of flack about a lot of
- 1:37things. I even more excited about this
- 1:39than Metallica. I after well after
- 1:41Metallica was announced cuz they're like
- 1:43oh we're going to not repeat anything
- 1:45over a weekend. So man, they must have
- 1:46way more songs than I thought that they
- 1:48did. So I went and got on Spotify and
- 1:51Metallica and listened to the thing and
- 1:52I'm like I know four or five of these
- 1:54songs.
- 1:54>> So now I'm wondering like what am I
- 1:56going to do there for 2 and 1 half 3
- 1:57hours waiting for one or two songs that
- 1:59I know I'll go because they're great
- 2:01musicians.
- 2:02>> Well maybe we'll just have to listen to
- 2:03some more of that in the backyard so she
- 2:05can like more songs
- 2:06>> that would require not listening to that
- 2:07in company which is sacrilegious. Yeah,
- 2:09we don't really do that very often. So
- 2:12anyway,
- 2:12>> so she's supposed to be at the sphere.
- 2:14That's that's the
- 2:15>> we'll find out here pretty soon I think
- 2:17>> which is it seems like an eternity away
- 2:18but then it goes faster and faster every
- 2:20year at the same time. So
- 2:22>> uh she has a lot of great songs and I
- 2:25can only imagine her performances. She
- 2:27would, you know, we we saw her at
- 2:29Washington DC at Nationals Park and she
- 2:31was flying around the stadium. She did
- 2:33it at Allegant. She did it at T-Mobile
- 2:34when you saw T-Mobile
- 2:35>> and the sphere is like even bigger. Like
- 2:37you don't realize even when you're there
- 2:39how freaking big this thing is.
- 2:41>> Outside it looks way smaller than the
- 2:43inside. And even when you're inside to
- 2:44me, like maybe it's just like optical
- 2:45illusion. It doesn't feel that big
- 2:48>> cuz the way the screen in the way that
- 2:50the seats are cuz you don't see like the
- 2:52seats behind, you know, it just looks
- 2:54like there's a screen. So, you don't
- 2:55understand like how much space there is
- 2:57there. And the first time I realized how
- 2:59much space there was was when we went to
- 3:01one of the first raves and they had
- 3:02lasers, okay?
- 3:03>> And you see the lasers can be like,
- 3:05"Holy crap, you're like, that is a lot
- 3:07of dead space. This is like a really big
- 3:09environment in here,
- 3:10>> right?
- 3:10>> Pretty amazing." At any rate, stay tuned
- 3:12for that. We might have been the first
- 3:13ones to break it besides the people that
- 3:15broke it that told us.
- 3:16>> Yeah. And the people that told them,
- 3:18>> right? So, you know.
- 3:19>> Yeah. We're the first people to break
- 3:20it.
- 3:22>> Okay.
- 3:22>> All right. So, uh, next next one here.
- 3:26Again, this kind of goes with this whole
- 3:28underlying story tone that we've been
- 3:29talking about.
- 3:31>> Are are they catering to the to the
- 3:32rich? Are they catering to the everyday
- 3:34people?
- 3:34>> What are we going to do about declining
- 3:36visitors?
- 3:37>> Right.
- 3:38>> Well, Conrad, which is
- 3:40>> one of the hotels at Resorts World,
- 3:41>> Resorts World, right? It's kind of a
- 3:43weird situation. Resorts has like three
- 3:45different lobbies.
- 3:46>> Yeah.
- 3:46>> There's three different hotels. They're
- 3:47all Hilton properties where it's like
- 3:49good, better, best Hilton,
- 3:50>> right?
- 3:51>> Uh I think Conrad's like in the middle
- 3:52if I remember correctly to what's there.
- 3:55>> And uh they're doing uh starting May
- 3:5726th. So it's still a little ways out,
- 3:59but you can start booking it now May
- 4:0126th through 8
- 4:03September 8th.
- 4:05>> $150 a person per night. So 300 bucks a
- 4:08room for a couple.
- 4:09>> Got to have two per night person
- 4:11occupant. Still not exactly cheap.
- 4:13>> Not cheap.
- 4:14>> But for Resorts World, hear me out for a
- 4:16second. This actually isn't so bad. It
- 4:17is pretty cheap. You get complimentary
- 4:19valet parking. Well, there you go.
- 4:20That's worth about $127 a day. They
- 4:23charge insane amounts of parking for
- 4:25parking now. I think the actual amount
- 4:27is probably 40 or 45. No, it's more than
- 4:2930 most.
- 4:31>> I mean, it's it's 40 or 45 at MGM
- 4:33properties.
- 4:34>> Is it really?
- 4:34>> Yeah. But we have the platinum card. So,
- 4:36goodness. You know, I I feel so good
- 4:37every time I get that free $45 of
- 4:39parking and then I go in there and lose
- 4:40500 bucks and that's true. You know,
- 4:42think that I got a good deal. That's
- 4:43what they do with these cards.
- 4:45>> Uh Club 66 lounge.
- 4:47>> You get daily continal breakfast, which
- 4:50pretty solid. And social hour in the
- 4:52evening with cocktails. So, you go up
- 4:54there.
- 4:54>> So, a croissant.
- 4:56>> Yeah.
- 4:57>> Croissant.
- 4:57>> You might get some scrambled eggs that
- 4:58are made with powder.
- 5:00>> Continental breakfast. Okay.
- 5:01>> Uh maybe some coffee, but you might
- 5:04start drink.
- 5:05have tea.
- 5:06>> What is this coke?
- 5:08>> What is this prefix? Is that included or
- 5:10do you have to pay for that?
- 5:11>> No, it's that's included. A prefix menu
- 5:13was a menu that is already set for you.
- 5:15>> I know, but one there's a there's five
- 5:17restaurants.
- 5:17>> You get to pick from the I believe I
- 5:20think it's once per day.
- 5:20>> You don't Oh, you don't get to go to
- 5:22each one of them.
- 5:22>> No, no,
- 5:23>> but they're they're good restaurants.
- 5:25It's not the it's not the food hall.
- 5:26This is like their their solid
- 5:29>> top-of-the-line restaurants. Prefix menu
- 5:32is usually, you know, something like in
- 5:34a $90 value. You get like an appetizer,
- 5:38>> uh, a May course and a dessert type of
- 5:39thing. Maybe,
- 5:40>> you know, but I didn't know these the
- 5:44five different places.
- 5:45>> I only know the first one.
- 5:47>> We We've been in at that one. I don't
- 5:48know the other ones.
- 5:49>> Okay.
- 5:50>> They they have We don't really go there
- 5:51often, quite frankly. I mean, I love the
- 5:53property.
- 5:54>> We have played there, but they they
- 5:55don't let us film there anymore.
- 5:57>> It's
- 5:57>> not just us. They don't let it,
- 5:59>> right? Yeah. We didn't do anything,
- 6:00>> right?
- 6:01>> Um, the main reason is what we've
- 6:03decided is that we're going to put most
- 6:05of our time in MGM because they have
- 6:07properties around the country, right?
- 6:09>> Around the world, right?
- 6:10>> And so, we want to be have an
- 6:12opportunity. We're going to National
- 6:13Harbor in a few days. They have the
- 6:15place in Mississippi, Boston. I've been
- 6:17told, I was talking to our host last
- 6:18night, she's like, "Based on what you do
- 6:21>> in in Washington on this trip, you're
- 6:22probably going to get offers now for all
- 6:23the other regionals, like almost
- 6:25immediately." It's similar when you come
- 6:26to Vegas. We're locals going somewhere
- 6:28else. So she's like, "You're cuz I kind
- 6:30of explained to her what our plan was
- 6:31and she's like, "Oh man, wait till you
- 6:32see what you get
- 6:33>> for Mississippi and all the other ones."
- 6:36>> And so Resorts World's not going to give
- 6:37us that opportunity. They have a couple
- 6:39properties, but
- 6:40>> Resorts World is not that old that they
- 6:42needed to renovate their pool.
- 6:45>> I mean, it's not that old.
- 6:48>> Someone probably
- 6:49>> threw up in the pool.
- 6:50>> Like a baby baby Ruth.
- 6:52>> Baby Ruth. Yeah. complimentary entry
- 6:55into Zuk night, which is irrelevant for
- 6:57us because we don't we don't go to
- 6:58nightclubs very often.
- 6:59>> And I don't even know what that's what
- 7:01that costs anymore, but I think probably
- 7:0225 to 50 bucks to go in there.
- 7:04>> Yeah.
- 7:04>> Uh so anyway, I mean, and it's funny
- 7:06that
- 7:07>> some more details, you can find those
- 7:08online, too.
- 7:09>> It's uh it seems like a decent deal. It
- 7:12seems like something that they copied
- 7:14from Circa.
- 7:15>> If you're going to stay there anyway, I
- 7:16mean, at least you're getting something
- 7:17more than just pay.
- 7:19>> Subzero likes to stay there. He does. uh
- 7:21and and Joe,
- 7:22>> it's it's a great I've stayed there. I I
- 7:24had a free room there one night staying
- 7:26there to talk at a conference and
- 7:28>> I have not stayed there.
- 7:29>> I enjoy the place. I mean like I I just
- 7:30wish there were less record. I wish
- 7:32there was
- 7:32>> but then we just we only have so much
- 7:34time to go from property to property. So
- 7:36if you're just coming in as a visitor,
- 7:37you want to take advantage of a premier
- 7:38hotel at a reduced rate. Seems like a
- 7:41good deal,
- 7:41>> right?
- 7:42>> This is a cool one right here. We talked
- 7:43about this last time.
- 7:44>> They picked the date Cadence Crossing is
- 7:46opening officially Wednesday, March
- 7:4825th. And we may or may not depending on
- 7:51>> depends
- 7:52>> if we can get it into the video and if
- 7:53we end up being able to get out there
- 7:55cuz there's some scheduling conflict
- 7:56stuff,
- 7:57>> but we might go out there and uh
- 7:59>> for the opening
- 7:59>> and show the grand opening. And if we
- 8:01did that, we probably would put that
- 8:03footage in right around now.
- 8:05>> This is the old Joker's Wild. If you've
- 8:07ever been out on Boulder Highway, 920
- 8:10North Boulder Highway, Henderson was a
- 8:13little standalone casino. Used to have a
- 8:16lot of fun there, actually.
- 8:18>> Yeah. I'm excited. I think it's good.
- 8:19>> You're good. No, you're fine, brother.
- 8:21>> People are are actually
- 8:23>> We're in a uh casino,
- 8:25>> as you can tell.
- 8:25>> Yeah, people people are going to walk
- 8:27by.
- 8:27>> So, Wednesday, March 25th, grand
- 8:28opening. Go go go check that out. If we
- 8:30can get the footage in here, we will. If
- 8:32not, we'll probably put it in next week.
- 8:34All right.
- 8:34>> And uh new stuff coming in town.
- 8:36>> You just told me about this yesterday.
- 8:37>> Yeah, this is interesting.
- 8:39>> You didn't put in here what you told me.
- 8:41>> They bought.
- 8:43>> That was a different That's a uh Well,
- 8:44that's a different situation.
- 8:45>> Okay. Yeah.
- 8:46>> Okay. So, Uber Yeah. Uber and Zuk. So,
- 8:48Zuk is a already established
- 8:51>> budding established because it's it's
- 8:54it's not fully like uh implemented
- 8:56citywide yet. They have restrictions on
- 8:59where they can pick you up and where
- 9:00they can take you, but fully autonomous.
- 9:02There is no driver in this vehicle. The
- 9:04the front seats face backwards. Yes.
- 9:07This is like the Terminator. No, not
- 9:09Terminator. There was a total recall.
- 9:10>> It's like Yeah. It's like a little mini
- 9:12van cab.
- 9:13>> Yeah.
- 9:14>> Yeah. So, like there there is no driver.
- 9:16It's completely autonomous. Well,
- 9:18they're they partnered with with Uber.
- 9:20So, so starting later this year uh in
- 9:23the summer, they just kind of have a
- 9:24vague,
- 9:24>> right?
- 9:25>> But sometime in the future, you said
- 9:26they bought a bunch of Rivians and
- 9:27they're going to use those.
- 9:28>> What I heard that they uh and that's
- 9:30nationwide. Okay.
- 9:31>> But what I the headline that I read was
- 9:33that they had bought one and a quart
- 9:34billion dollars or put an order in for
- 9:36one quart billion dollar
- 9:37>> of Rivian self-driving fully autonomous
- 9:41vehicles. Why they went with them
- 9:42instead of Tesla?
- 9:43>> Yeah, that's weird.
- 9:44>> Well, I have a I have a theory. you do.
- 9:46>> My theory is that it's going to be Uber
- 9:48and Tesla kind of fighting out for
- 9:50dominance in this market because while
- 9:52Tesla doesn't have it yet, and this is
- 9:54all just speculation here that isn't
- 9:55necessarily about Vegas, but you know,
- 9:57Tesla's got their Cyber Cab coming out
- 9:59>> which I think is going to link up
- 10:01directly with their app and you'll be
- 10:02able to call CyberCap through through
- 10:04Tesla and then there'll be Uber which
- 10:06will be like the the Uber taxi Uber
- 10:09Rivian partnership and these guys are
- 10:11going to be fighting for which is
- 10:13probably good because then it stops
- 10:15they're from being like an FTC monopoly
- 10:17issue. Anyway, so
- 10:18>> um so Uber's Uber siding with Zuk and
- 10:21Tesla doesn't have anything rolled out
- 10:23yet for Nationwide. They're they're
- 10:25>> Uber is going to lose a lot of drivers.
- 10:27A lot of people are going to lose jobs
- 10:28if they have self-driving cars. That's
- 10:29that's too bad. I don't like that.
- 10:31>> Another podcast that I love called A
- 10:33Diary of a CEO. Okay.
- 10:34>> And they just interviewed the Uber
- 10:36driver and he's or the Uber CEO and he's
- 10:38just like almost unapologetically like
- 10:4180% of people are going to lose their
- 10:42jobs.
- 10:42>> Wow. Wow. It's like uh the drivers,
- 10:46>> you know, if you driver is as a
- 10:48profession is the number one profession
- 10:51>> in the United States from what I'm told
- 10:53like in terms of like
- 10:54>> numbers
- 10:54>> numbers there just and I mean just sheer
- 10:56numbers like he he mentioned
- 10:58>> cabs
- 10:58>> uh just the number of drivers on their
- 11:00platform
- 11:01>> right
- 11:01>> uh you know these people have other jobs
- 11:03but like you know when you have another
- 11:04job you still have driver you're a
- 11:07driver or something whether it's like
- 11:08it's a taxi or a courier service or a
- 11:11limo or a long haul or short hall or
- 11:14final mall trucking or Amazon or Walmart
- 11:17or any I mean it's just there's lots and
- 11:18lots of drivers
- 11:20>> and you know that part of the economy is
- 11:21going to get kind of decimated was was
- 11:23what he talked about on diary of a CEO
- 11:25>> right
- 11:26>> um I'm officially getting old
- 11:29>> you are
- 11:29>> this is nuts I remember when the strat
- 11:32was brand new
- 11:33>> first time I came to Vegas
- 11:35>> it was one or two years old
- 11:37>> okay
- 11:37>> and now 30th anniversary April 30th 2026
- 11:42>> wow they have better than Ezra coming
- 11:43out there. We might have to go out there
- 11:44and and check this out.
- 11:46>> Okay.
- 11:46>> Uh I'm a fan of them. Uh again, I
- 11:48probably only know four or five of their
- 11:49songs.
- 11:50>> Their pool swimming social.
- 11:51>> Yeah. I didn't even realize that they
- 11:52they had that.
- 11:53>> I mean, I'm sure they have a pool. We
- 11:54are in Vegas and it's a hotel.
- 11:55>> I understand. I just I've never been
- 11:57there.
- 11:58>> Yeah. Like I'm thinking is it more like
- 11:59uh you know, Virgin, the old hard rocks
- 12:01like thing out there where there's like
- 12:03a a place for bands to come playing
- 12:05outdoors. I've just never been over
- 12:06there.
- 12:06>> I'm surprised they're not doing it next
- 12:08door at the golf place. The Atomic Golf.
- 12:10>> Yeah. I've heard that's struggling as
- 12:12well. Yeah.
- 12:12>> So, I'm not so sure about that. But
- 12:14obviously, the Strat's a classic
- 12:16property here. It's defines the the
- 12:18skyline. Even though it's not a part of
- 12:20like the main core of the strip, it's
- 12:22still
- 12:22>> on Las Vegas Boulevard on the strip. I
- 12:24mean, technically, obviously, uh, and
- 12:26whenever you see a a painting of Vegas,
- 12:28it's like the Luxor light and the
- 12:29stratosphere. It seems to be like the
- 12:31two and the Bellagio fountains
- 12:33>> are like the things that you see in
- 12:34those paintings. And so a staple on the
- 12:37on the strip,
- 12:38>> you know, I I haven't been there in a
- 12:39while up to the top of the the top of
- 12:41the strat, but they have a great
- 12:43restaurant up there. At least they used
- 12:44to be really good and amazing views.
- 12:46>> And it's funny like while you're at the
- 12:47restaurant, it's slowly makes like one
- 12:49rotation
- 12:50>> while you're eating about once an hour
- 12:52and you need same as in Seattle.
- 12:54>> Yeah, it's cool.
- 12:55>> So that one in Seattle, we did the tour
- 12:57of that
- 12:58>> and that thing spins and it's thousands
- 13:01of tons of pounds, right?
- 13:03>> It's nuts. And it's uh
- 13:06I think it was a two horsepower motor.
- 13:09>> Is that right? It's like on a really
- 13:11good ball bearing.
- 13:12>> Yeah. It's a and a and a
- 13:14the gear ratio for it is is the torque
- 13:17of it is what they don't need a lot of
- 13:19power and it just spins super slow.
- 13:21>> Is this just some understanding? It's
- 13:24thousands of tons of pounds.
- 13:25>> Tons of pounds. Yeah, that's why I said
- 13:26that. Thous
- 13:30kilos also. It's a lot of kilos. A lot
- 13:31of kilos. Lot of kilos. Okay.
- 13:33Uh, not surprising. We broke this story.
- 13:36This I wanted to talk to you about.
- 13:38>> Yeah. Nevada versus the state of Nevada
- 13:40versus Cowi prediction markets
- 13:42>> escalation.
- 13:43>> I was wrong about this.
- 13:44>> Uhoh.
- 13:45>> I said that I thought that they they
- 13:47wouldn't put the injunction in and they
- 13:49did.
- 13:49>> March 20th, a Nevada judge granted a
- 13:51temporary restraining order. Wow.
- 13:53Locking cow's event contracts in state.
- 13:55>> Wow.
- 13:56>> From the judge's point of view, these
- 13:57contracts can't qualify as an unlicensed
- 14:00sports pool under Nevada law. Wow.
- 14:03>> Pretty big.
- 14:04>> You know, once there's press, you know,
- 14:06the whole thing with legal stuff is once
- 14:07there's precedence and, you know,
- 14:08there's a case for it, it's a lot easier
- 14:10for other states to move forward and
- 14:12make it happen much
- 14:13>> quicker. Now, this is just an
- 14:14injunction. It's not a a ruling.
- 14:16>> Right. Right.
- 14:17>> But there's two types of things like you
- 14:19have one side says, "You need to stop
- 14:20this right now."
- 14:21>> The other side says, "Wait a second.
- 14:23Like, you got to find me guilty first.
- 14:24>> Don't tell me what to do." Well, in this
- 14:26case, you know, whenever there's an
- 14:27injunction, the the they they say,
- 14:29"Wait, well, you probably are guilty, so
- 14:31we're going to we're going to put this
- 14:33injunction in right now." So, not a
- 14:35great sign. It's it's not a great sign.
- 14:37Now,
- 14:38>> it's not done yet. I mean, there's been
- 14:40lots of times where there's been an
- 14:41injunction, and at the end of the day,
- 14:43they're like, "Well, actually,
- 14:45>> we're not going to we're not going to
- 14:46want to grant you a case, so we'll see
- 14:47what happens." But the next major
- 14:48hearing is in April 3rd, right around
- 14:50the corner. So, we'll we'll
- 14:52>> we'll know more.
- 14:52>> Make sure that we talk about that then,
- 14:54>> for sure. Uh, and we'll we'll see about
- 14:55if they can lift the because they're
- 14:56trying to get the injunction lifted. Um,
- 14:59but this is going to shape the boundary
- 15:01between state regulated sports betting
- 15:03and fed federally regulated stuff,
- 15:05>> right?
- 15:05>> They're using a a loophole right now and
- 15:08everybody knows it. It's not like, you
- 15:09know, they're just smug about it.
- 15:11>> Yeah. We talked about this last week and
- 15:13and or two weeks a week week or two
- 15:15weeks ago and I'm I'm this baffles me
- 15:17that there that that loophole exists
- 15:20that they allow them to even do it. I
- 15:21mean, in the in the category of too
- 15:23soon,
- 15:24>> it's very similar to what's happening in
- 15:25Texas with the card room. Like, they're
- 15:27like, it's a it's a club. Yeah. Wink
- 15:30wink.
- 15:30>> That club as we
- 15:31>> Yeah. And I mean,
- 15:32>> it's a gamble.
- 15:33>> I don't want to get my opinion of all
- 15:35this. Just this is just what's going on
- 15:37right now.
- 15:38>> Um,
- 15:39>> I guess I will give my opinion. I'm I'm
- 15:40annoyed that there that what what's
- 15:42happened down there cuz I think that it
- 15:44should be allowed and whatever. But like
- 15:45my opinion doesn't matter and that's
- 15:46that's state's prerogative and people
- 15:48know what they're getting themselves
- 15:49into. Right.
- 15:50>> Same thing happened here. They had an
- 15:51opinion that there was a strong loophole
- 15:53from a legal perspective. You can gamble
- 15:55on anything because it's peer
- 15:56>> gotten away with it for a while.
- 15:58>> It's been years now. It's been it's been
- 16:00years.
- 16:01>> All right. Well, here we are.
- 16:02>> We are here at Green Valley. So, I
- 16:04figured we give them a shout out.
- 16:05>> Yeah, you might as well.
- 16:06>> Lots of things going on here. Like, you
- 16:08can see stuff happening in real time.
- 16:09>> There's a lot I'm surprised that they
- 16:11were allowing this to happen here. A lot
- 16:12of disruption. I guess you have no
- 16:13choice. It's a 24/7 operation. If you
- 16:16want to replace the carpet,
- 16:18>> you got to shut down. So, every time we
- 16:20come in here, there's a different
- 16:21section of the casino being shut down
- 16:22right now for the carpet to go in,
- 16:25>> which I feel like is a weird order of
- 16:28operations. I grew up in construction.
- 16:29You think you would cuz they're they're
- 16:30repainting and they're they're getting
- 16:32rid of stonework and they're putting in
- 16:33like new ceiling stuff and there's going
- 16:35to be other like much heavier
- 16:36construction.
- 16:37>> So, you think you would do all that on
- 16:38the old carpet carpet last was always a
- 16:40thing. It was when the carpet goes in
- 16:42like it's about time to get your your
- 16:44occupancy permit.
- 16:46>> So, I'm surprised about that. But they
- 16:48are or they have remodeled the West
- 16:50Tower suites here, which I didn't, you
- 16:52know, I haven't been to. They have a new
- 16:54a new butler service here. So, they're
- 16:56trying to like raise the level of of
- 16:58what they're doing here, right?
- 16:59>> Um it's a $200 million project here. I
- 17:02mean, it's it's a massive project.
- 17:03They're putting a bunch of money in
- 17:04here. taking money when casinos and I
- 17:08learned this years and years and years
- 17:10ago,
- 17:11reinvesting money into the casino or
- 17:15business or property or what, however
- 17:17you want to term it is a write-off.
- 17:20>> So that's why they always do it.
- 17:21>> Yeah. Well, I mean that's any any
- 17:22business. So when they put the stone,
- 17:26take the stone off of these pillars
- 17:29and they pay $200 million to do it. It
- 17:33probably
- 17:35probably doesn't really cost them $200
- 17:37million.
- 17:39>> If they inflate things and they write
- 17:41all that money off,
- 17:42>> it cost us $200 million. We want
- 17:44>> We're in the machines.
- 17:47>> Yeah.
- 17:48>> I I don't see anything here about them
- 17:50having a Desert Den suite or wing. They
- 17:52don't
- 17:53still call it the West Tower. So, we're
- 17:55>> Yeah. 71 luxury suites and 422 rooms.
- 17:58>> West Tower.
- 18:00>> 37 West Tower suites available to book
- 18:03right now.
- 18:03>> Yep. They're already there.
- 18:04>> There's a 2790
- 18:06ft.
- 18:06>> Yeah.
- 18:07>> Their signature one with a with a view
- 18:09view of the strip, which makes sense. We
- 18:11We know this area well. I mean, I
- 18:12haven't seen the show from this exact
- 18:14location, but like if you go to the
- 18:16apartments next door on the back side,
- 18:18they have a they have a and they're only
- 18:20three stories. Right. So, I've been in
- 18:21the rooms here.
- 18:23>> Uh my buddy Jason had one of their
- 18:24suites here recently and uh yeah,
- 18:28>> nice property. A lot of people love
- 18:30coming here because they don't want to
- 18:31deal with the riff raff of the strip and
- 18:33there's so much great stuff around here.
- 18:34You can walk right over to the district
- 18:36and get a bunch of other restaurants and
- 18:37>> I was there last night, Mike.
- 18:38>> There you go.
- 18:40>> I I heard I seen I saw pictures.
- 18:42>> Um
- 18:43>> this was not us.
- 18:44>> I was going to say like
- 18:45>> this was not us, Mike. I was I was
- 18:47actually going to leave with we we hit
- 18:48the jackpot and he ruined my thunder.
- 18:50>> No, this was not us.
- 18:51>> All right.
- 18:51>> You would know.
- 18:52>> Yeah.
- 18:53>> You guys would know before this came out
- 18:54>> because this happened on February 29th.
- 18:56We're just finding out about it. Uh but
- 18:57at the Rio. So the thing that's exciting
- 18:59is we play there all the time. So you're
- 19:01saying it could have been us. Yeah.
- 19:03>> I don't know which one it was. There's
- 19:04only two,
- 19:05>> right?
- 19:05>> Well, this is a 122,000. So it had to be
- 19:08in the high limit room.
- 19:09>> Yeah. And we played them. There's two of
- 19:11them.
- 19:11>> Yeah. It's a Chica Bonita.
- 19:14>> Oh, no. There's three. Chica Bonita on
- 19:16the firewall and then the two lightning
- 19:17links.
- 19:17>> Oh, those.
- 19:18>> Yeah, the old ones.
- 19:19>> Yeah,
- 19:20>> that we've had a lot of luck on.
- 19:22>> Yeah,
- 19:22>> the the chips and then the
- 19:24>> So, it's uh the dollar storm. No, not
- 19:26dollar stom. Sorry. The the high stakes.
- 19:28>> High stakes and the heart one next to
- 19:30it.
- 19:30>> Yeah, the heart throb or something like
- 19:32that.
- 19:32>> Yeah. What is that one?
- 19:32>> I don't like that one.
- 19:33>> No, we're not.
- 19:34>> But I like the high stakes one. Anyway,
- 19:35congratulations to whoever you are.
- 19:37>> 22,000.
- 19:38>> You're welcome. We contributed to that
- 19:39machine, too.
- 19:40>> We definitely
- 19:41>> No one ever gives us credit. There
- 19:42should be naming rates. Uh,
- 19:44>> they should at least put the sign on
- 19:46there like we see Vegas Matt approved
- 19:48machine. We should get that DJ put money
- 19:51into this machine.
- 19:52>> We did.
- 19:53>> All right. Uh, Laughlin. That doesn't
- 19:55make it onto the agenda very often. It
- 19:57must have been a short news week.
- 19:58>> No, it doesn't.
- 19:59>> Laughlin.
- 20:00>> What? What is this?
- 20:01>> I live there. I live there for 7 months.
- 20:02>> I kid. I kid. I kid. Uh, they're doing a
- 20:04house plus cash promo.
- 20:06>> Okay.
- 20:06>> Uh,
- 20:08>> $300,000 house. Now house like meaning
- 20:11like they're giving you a house. They're
- 20:13giving away a house. Wow.
- 20:14>> Plus $60,000 cash. Don't quite
- 20:16understand the cash part. Maybe it's
- 20:17like to pay the taxes on the thing or
- 20:19buy yourself some furniture, but you got
- 20:21to go out there uh Saturdays March 14th
- 20:24through 11th. Uh and you can earn
- 20:27tickets through April 18th or ticket
- 20:30earning window through
- 20:32>> the weekly draws. That's interesting.
- 20:33There must
- 20:34>> 500 cash certificates. Yeah.
- 20:35>> I feel like we have something wrong
- 20:36here. I need to go double check that.
- 20:37We'll do a revised thing cuz something
- 20:40doesn't quite add up there. And maybe
- 20:41>> grand prize is the 18th. That's the
- 20:43house.
- 20:43>> That's what That's what I see. The
- 20:45weekly draws are March 14th through
- 20:4611th. I'm like, something's missing here
- 20:48now. I see it. So, the 18th, you can
- 20:50earn tickets right up until the day of
- 20:51the drawing. Someone's going to win a
- 20:53house.
- 20:53>> Awesome.
- 20:54>> Uh, in the finals pool, there'll be 120
- 20:56certificate holders. So, it's going to
- 20:57be like the weekly drawing, I guess,
- 20:59like contributes towards you. One of
- 21:00these multi-level things.
- 21:01>> It's not too bad. Only
- 21:02>> the cash option. If you don't want the
- 21:04house, I don't know where the house is
- 21:05going to be. You could take 210K.
- 21:07>> Okay. Yeah, I I would take that. I don't
- 21:09need a house in Laughlin.
- 21:10>> We could pay our house off.
- 21:12That'd be kind of cool,
- 21:13>> right?
- 21:13>> That'd be awesome.
- 21:15>> Guys, this is this is a multiaceted
- 21:17story.
- 21:18>> This might actually be a problem for us.
- 21:20This next point is uh we're leaving here
- 21:22to go out to DC.
- 21:25>> Yeah.
- 21:25>> And I'm wondering if we need to be there
- 21:275 hours early. They were talking about
- 21:28this last night.
- 21:29>> It's not good. And I'm not happy. Like I
- 21:32I almost want to cancel our trip. Like
- 21:33that's how much it upsets me.
- 21:34>> Oh.
- 21:35>> Because we have to deal with it twice on
- 21:36the way there and the way back.
- 21:38>> Yeah. Is it worse in DC? Have you have I
- 21:41>> I have a
- 21:41>> I almost want to go out to the airport
- 21:43just to see if TSA line is 5 hours or
- 21:45not.
- 21:46>> I have a friend who just waited a couple
- 21:47of hours in line at at the airport in
- 21:50DC.
- 21:50>> It doesn't even matter if you have TSA
- 21:51pre-check.
- 21:52>> Doesn't even matter.
- 21:53>> Well, she did say that pre-check was
- 21:54reopened in DC. Was it also her first?
- 21:57Yeah.
- 21:57>> So, I think that this is fluid, but uh
- 22:00it was cool. MGM sent uh people out
- 22:02there to help the TSA workers. They sent
- 22:03them 700 chef prepare lunch boxes to
- 22:05help the TSA staff here at the local
- 22:08Harry Reed airport. So, we also help pay
- 22:09for that. We We play it.
- 22:11>> Yeah. I'm glad that we can help the TSA
- 22:12workers.
- 22:13>> Yes.
- 22:14>> Yeah.
- 22:14>> Something good came of it.
- 22:16>> Yeah. Um I don't know. I don't do well
- 22:18with lines. Some people they'll My wife
- 22:20doesn't care. It's like whatever. Um
- 22:23>> I'm already mentally preparing myself,
- 22:25so it helps when I do that, but I'd
- 22:27rather get through the TSA thing quickly
- 22:28and go into the airport club and relax
- 22:30before having to fly. I have this stupid
- 22:33MX card and I don't fly any longer. I'm
- 22:35thinking of canceling it cuz I don't fly
- 22:36enough anymore. Right.
- 22:38>> And uh and and then we're going to wait
- 22:39in line instead of getting to use the
- 22:40darn club.
- 22:40>> Yeah, that's no good.
- 22:41>> So, I don't know. But uh at least MGM's
- 22:44helping helping out the TSA work.
- 22:46>> That's cool that they sent out some some
- 22:48>> prepared. My understanding is that
- 22:49they're like not getting paid.
- 22:51>> Yeah. Yeah. But I think Congress,
- 22:54>> all the people in Congress, all the, you
- 22:57know, people that we we all voted for,
- 23:00>> they they're still getting paid.
- 23:02>> It It's funny. And one of the things we
- 23:03we have this news podcast now,
- 23:06>> but I don't really watch the news.
- 23:07>> Right.
- 23:07>> Like I'm This is how I'm getting my news
- 23:10like is we're doing the research for all
- 23:11this stuff.
- 23:12>> Exactly.
- 23:12>> This just upsets me so much that I've
- 23:14just decided to stop watching it cuz
- 23:16>> mostly the news just infuriates people
- 23:18either side and I don't want to be
- 23:19upset.
- 23:19>> It's like when I lived in LA, I didn't
- 23:20watch the news because every night there
- 23:22was a car chase with the police and
- 23:23>> Yeah, I've already seen that. Yeah, I
- 23:25didn't need to see it anymore.
- 23:27>> All right, to wrap things up, Caesar's
- 23:30sales chatter. Yeah,
- 23:32>> this is probably going to be
- 23:34>> in the podcast
- 23:35>> going forward
- 23:36>> almost every week. This is such a big
- 23:38deal. Such a big deal cuz again it's
- 23:40like
- 23:40>> 25 to 30, you know, a quarter to a third
- 23:43of the strip. You add up all the hotels,
- 23:45>> uh March 11th.
- 23:46>> Yes.
- 23:47>> So, just after the last episode we put
- 23:49out, uh there's a discussion around $34
- 23:51a share. So, now there's
- 23:53>> like actual numbers out there, uh which
- 23:55is $7 billion. Uh puts it we talked
- 23:57about that $7 billion number before.
- 23:59>> Yeah. Well, it was less. No, it was less
- 24:01last time we talked about.
- 24:02>> That was 7 billion.
- 24:03>> Seven?
- 24:03>> Yeah, that was what we talked about last
- 24:04night.
- 24:05>> Cuz the number was uh down in the 20s
- 24:08for uh share.
- 24:09>> Well, when you you typically when you
- 24:10have a takeover, you typically have to
- 24:12bid higher than
- 24:13>> Well, it was up 120 at one point. So,
- 24:15>> March 14th, this is where things are
- 24:17starting to slide a little bit. Uh now,
- 24:19it's $32 a share. So, that puts at 6.5
- 24:22billion down a little. So, it is coming
- 24:23down.
- 24:24>> Um but it is typical. I mean, I've been
- 24:25in the stock market since I was 18,
- 24:28right? Uh, and whenever you get, you
- 24:30know, hostile takeover or takeover bid
- 24:31or an untendered share offer, whatever
- 24:34it is, it's almost always above market
- 24:36price because what ends up happening is
- 24:39>> the shareholders have a vote. And so,
- 24:41it's like, why would I just sell this at
- 24:44market value?
- 24:45>> I want above market value to get to get
- 24:48the votes.
- 24:48>> That makes sense.
- 24:49>> Uh, as a public company. And so,
- 24:51>> plus they hope it's going to go up.
- 24:53>> That's right.
- 24:54>> They're not buying it to lose hopefully.
- 24:55>> Yeah. So at any rate, now the price is 6
- 24:58half billion. So it's like uh Wall
- 25:01Street when Gordon's like, "Ah, so I'm
- 25:03only going to make a, you know, couple
- 25:05million, whatever." So now it's like,
- 25:06it's what's a half a billion dollars?
- 25:07It's only $500 million difference. It's
- 25:09not a big deal.
- 25:10>> Uh
- 25:12>> supposedly this could happen in the next
- 25:1345 days.
- 25:14>> That's crazy.
- 25:14>> Which is actually pretty nuts.
- 25:16>> That is crazy. So that that's that's
- 25:19what makes I think such a big story
- 25:20right now is that this could be this
- 25:22could be happening by the next podcast
- 25:24episode or something you could be
- 25:26announced. So
- 25:27>> uh it will change Vegas forever. I mean
- 25:29it it's it just it is such a big part of
- 25:32the strip. We talked about this before.
- 25:33>> So we'll see if and when this goes
- 25:35through. These types of things get
- 25:37announced all the time and don't happen.
- 25:39They even get announced and be like this
- 25:41is the offer and still don't go through
- 25:42because of other regulatory other
- 25:44approval. There might be some type of
- 25:45thing where the FTC steps in and says,
- 25:47"Wait a second. Now you have too much of
- 25:48too much, you know, because they already
- 25:50own other things, so we'll see what
- 25:51happens."
- 25:52>> Well, the building we're sitting in, the
- 25:53brothers own, right?
- 25:55>> This is the other brother that's trying
