- 0:00Speaker 1: The Longhorns prepare now getting ready for this matchup with
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Clemson Tigers and Quinn Youwers took part in the
- 0:09Speaker 1: media availability yesterday, So here's a conversation with the media
- 0:12Speaker 1: and QB one of the Longhorns.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I mean, I would say just my teammates and just
- 0:18Speaker 2: the work we put in together and just the amount
- 0:22Speaker 2: of time that we put in physically and mentally to
- 0:26Speaker 2: get to where we want to be.
- 0:28Speaker 3: And that's that's the ultimate reason why we all do
- 0:29Speaker 3: it for each other.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Something buy a physical and mental I know Sark really
- 0:33Speaker 2: went out of his way to.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Give you all actual break as well as physical. How
- 0:37Speaker 3: are you feeling in both aspects right now? Yeah, I
- 0:40Speaker 3: feel good. It's good to get some time off, for sure.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Quinn.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Clemson's defense for live turnervers this year, Just what have
- 0:44Speaker 3: you seen that they do well?
- 0:46Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:46Speaker 3: I mean they fit the right gaps.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I mean they're they're they're coached well, they play hard
- 0:51Speaker 2: and that creates turnovers. Quinn, QB One for all those
- 0:56Speaker 2: people in fans film, how are you preparing for this week?
- 1:00Speaker 2: What was your grip rec Yeah, just like any other game,
- 1:06Speaker 2: just try to not build it up too much. In
- 1:09Speaker 2: my head and just try to go out there and
- 1:11Speaker 2: play my game. Does it at least feel different though,
- 1:14Speaker 2: just because this is like NFL style tournament in a
- 1:16Speaker 2: way playoffs? Yeah, I mean maybe not right now, but
- 1:20Speaker 2: as it gets closer maybe so. But like you said,
- 1:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's never been a home hosted playoff game,
- 1:25Speaker 2: so that'll be cool for sure. Did you take away
- 1:27Speaker 2: from last year when you guys played Washington in that
- 1:29Speaker 2: playoff experience the first time? Few?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Obviously, what can you take away from that? What'd you
- 1:34Speaker 3: learn from that experience?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Well, I mean, for all the guys that have came
- 1:38Speaker 2: back after that, we got a lot of experience and
- 1:40Speaker 2: in a big time game like that, and you know,
- 1:43Speaker 2: we took away that in games like that, things are gonna.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Go wrong, things are gonna go right.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Just gotta keep playing when the I mean, just try
- 1:52Speaker 2: to get the battle of the playmakers and let them
- 1:54Speaker 2: go to work at the end of the day. It's
- 1:58Speaker 2: it sounds like a simple answer, but I mean that's
- 1:59Speaker 2: kind of just how simple it is.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Quinn, you and Taff were exactly the best terms in
- 2:04Speaker 4: the twenty twenty one state championship game. You know, he
- 2:07Speaker 4: intercepted you obviously on that final play. But could you
- 2:10Speaker 4: have ever imagined that that guy would have been like
- 2:14Speaker 4: such a reliable teammate now.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Like during the game or like after the game.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I mean.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I knew he was a good player obviously in high school,
- 2:26Speaker 2: and like you said, he's just like the backbone of
- 2:29Speaker 2: that defense and ultimate, I mean, really just a backbone
- 2:31Speaker 2: of this team. Everyone follows Taff and believes in what
- 2:34Speaker 2: Taff says, and he's just an.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Awesome teammate to have, for sure.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I guess, like looking at it, you only think about
- 2:41Speaker 2: the good whenever you're a kid. But that's just life though,
- 2:45Speaker 2: I mean, stuff's gonna come your way. It's just you
- 2:48Speaker 2: gotta keep keep moving forward. But it's been fun for sure.
- 2:50Speaker 5: What's what's been the most enjoyable part and what's been
- 2:52Speaker 5: the most miserable, most enjoyable man, besides talking about here,
- 3:00Speaker 5: I'd say just getting to know all these guys from
- 3:03Speaker 5: different different demographics and.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Just learning their stories and just getting to know guys
- 3:08Speaker 2: from all over the country. That football, I mean, football
- 3:11Speaker 2: has given me the opportunity to opportunity to get to
- 3:14Speaker 2: know them.
- 3:14Speaker 3: And without without this team and without football.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I wouldn't have I wouldn't have been able to build
- 3:19Speaker 2: the relationships that I've built over the past three or
- 3:22Speaker 2: so years. Yea, most most what was it miserable? Man,
- 3:31Speaker 2: It's all just been a learning experience and and nothing's
- 3:33Speaker 2: really been super miserable for me.
- 3:35Speaker 3: It's all.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It's all been a good time. Well, I think just
- 3:41Speaker 2: I think we're hurting ourselves at the end of the day.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I mean, we got no problems moving the ball and
- 3:45Speaker 2: having explosive plays and whatnot. But you know, whether that
- 3:50Speaker 2: be penalties or.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Loss of yard, it's on passes, runs, whatever it is.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I mean, we just got to remain confident when we
- 4:03Speaker 2: past that twenty thirty yard line.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Quinton much recruited by Clinton and Dado Caniana High.
- 4:08Speaker 2: School and it's been a while, I think a little bit,
- 4:13Speaker 2: but I don't think I got offered by him.
- 4:14Speaker 5: And so much of that twenty one game was maybe
- 4:17Speaker 5: to be against Katee and what you guys would do
- 4:20Speaker 5: in the futures and talking.
- 4:21Speaker 1: About back to full circle and all of the.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Quarterbacks of their home of this again and do you
- 4:26Speaker 3: have any relationship with them?
- 4:28Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's definitely cool for sure. And meet me
- 4:30Speaker 2: and Kaid having good relationship and he's a cool dude.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's definitely cool to get to play each other again.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Like you said, it comes full circle and whatnot.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah, the full circle being, of course, the UIL six
- 4:46Speaker 1: A state championship game that they played back in twenty
- 4:49Speaker 1: twenty one when it was West Like led by Kate
- 4:52Speaker 1: Club meeting South like Carol led by Queen Yours. All right,
- 4:57Speaker 1: we'll be back to wrap up Hour number two on
- 4:59Speaker 1: sports radio am Orteine under the Zone
