- 0:01Welcome to Positively three hundred and sixty five, a podcast by Joe wattis.
- 0:06We wished to entertain, instruct and motivate. If nothing else, hopefully we
- 0:11can entertain and inspire you to live a more positive life three hundred and sixty
- 0:15five days a year. We hope you enjoy this message. Not long ago
- 0:25and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip, but there
- 0:30were problems everywhere. Four of us elves got sick, and the trainee elves
- 0:36did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, so Santa was beginning
- 0:40to feel the pressure of being behind schedule. Then missus Klaus told Santa that
- 0:46her mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he
- 0:52went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to
- 0:56give birth, and two had jumped the fence and more out heaven knows where.
- 1:02More stress then, when he began to load the sleigh, one of
- 1:07the boards cracked and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered all the
- 1:11toys. So frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee
- 1:17and a shot of whiskey. When he went to the cupboard, he found
- 1:22that the elves had hid the liquor and there was nothing to drink. In
- 1:26his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot and broke it into hundreds of little
- 1:32pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get up room and found
- 1:37that the mice had eaten the straw it was made from. Just then the
- 1:42doorbell rang and Santa cussed on his way to the door. He opened the
- 1:48door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The
- 1:55angel asked, where would you like me to put this tree? Santa Uh.
- 2:00And that, my friend, is how the little angel came to be
- 2:05on top of the Christmas tree. We are in that special time of year.
- 2:21The holiday season is a festive time. It is a time of festivity,
- 2:25parties, food, family, and gifts. Yet for some people this
- 2:30can be a difficult time. It can be even harder for those folks to
- 2:36be and remain positive. We will talk about this in this week's episode of
- 2:40Positively three sixty five, But first we have our trivia question of the day.

- 4:15was how many ghosts appear to Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol?
- 4:24The answer four. The four ghosts are Jacob Marley, Scrooge's miserly business partner,
- 4:32the ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the
- 4:38ghosts of Christmases yet to come. Now you know the holiday season, with
- 4:51its twinkling lights and festive melodies often carries the promise of joy and togetherness.
- 5:00It's essential to acknowledge that for some this time of year can bring challenges.
- 5:05Staying positive during the holidays requires a mindful approach and a focus on gratitude.
- 5:14Amid the hustle and bustle, take moments to reflect on the blessings in your
- 5:18life, whether its cherished relationships, moments of personal growth, or the simple
- 5:26pleasures of the season. Finding gratitude can be a powerful antidote distress. Embrace
- 5:32the spirit of giving, not just in material gifts, but in acts of
- 5:38kindness and compassion. The warmth derived from helping others can be a potent source
- 5:44of positivity. Reach out to loved ones, friends, and neighbors who may
- 5:49be feeling the holiday blues and create a supportive network. Moreover, allow yourself
- 5:57to savor the beauty of small moments, whether it's the aroma of freshly baked
- 6:02cookies, the glow of candlelight, or the laughter of friends and family.
- 6:09Cultivate a positive mindset by focusing on the present and appreciating the richness that comes
- 6:16with each moment. Remember that it's okay to set realistic expectations and to prioritize
- 6:26self care. Embrace the imperfections of the holiday season, finding joy and the
- 6:31authenticity of the experience. By fostering gratitude, spreading kindness, and relishing the
- 6:39simple pleasures, you can navigate the holidays with a positive and resilient spirit.
- 6:54The Littlest Christmas Tree a poem by Amy Peterson. The Littlest Christmas Tree lived
- 7:02in a meadow green among the family of tall evergreens. He learned how to
- 7:09whisper the evergreen song with the slightest of wind that came gently along. He
- 7:16watched as the birds made a home of twigs, and couldn't wait till he
- 7:21too was big. But of all the trees offered a home, the maple,
- 7:28the pine, and the oak were so strong. I hate being little,
- 7:32said the little tree. I can't even turn colors like the maple turns
- 7:39red. I can't help the animals like the old, mighty oak. He
- 7:46shelters them all with his wide, mighty cloak. The older tree said,
- 7:51why, little tree, you don't know the story of a mighty king from
- 7:58the land with no snow. The little tree questioned, a land with no
- 8:03snow? Yes, said the old tree. A very old story from so
- 8:09long ago. A star appeared, giving great light over a manger. On
- 8:15a long winter's night. A baby was born, a king of all kings,
- 8:20and with him comes love over all things. He lived in a country
- 8:26all covered in sand, and laid down his life to save alive man little
- 8:33tree thought of the gift given by him. Then the big tree said,
- 8:39with the happiest grin, we're not just trees, but a reminder of that
- 8:45day. There's so much, a bigger part of a role that we play
- 8:52for On Christmas Eve, my life all lay down in exchange for a happier,
- 8:56loving ground. And as I stand dying, they'll adorn me and trim
- 9:03and this all will be done in memory of him. Among a warm fire
- 9:09with family and friends, in the sweet songs of Christmas, I'll find my
- 9:15great end. Then, ever so gently he'll come down to see and take
- 9:20me to Heaven Jesus and me. So you see, little tree, we
- 9:26are not like the oak who shelters all things beneath his great cloak. Nor
- 9:33are we like the maple in fall, whose colors leave many standing in awe.
- 9:39The gift that we give is ourselves limb for limb, the greatest of
- 9:45honor in memory of him. The little tree bowed his head down and cried
- 9:50and thought of the King who willingly died for what a great gift can anyone
- 9:58give? And to lay down his life when you wanted to live? A
- 10:03swelling of pride came over the tree. Can all of this happen because of
- 10:09just me? Can I really bring honor by adorning a home? By reminding
- 10:15mankind that he's never alone? With this thought, little tree began singing with
- 10:22glee, happy and proud to be a true Christmas tree. You can still
- 10:28hear them singing, even the smallest in height, singing of Christmas and of
- 10:35that one holy night. Thank you for joining us today. Please consider taking
