- 0:00Speaker 1: One thing I remember about Avatar's second book, Book of Earth,
- 0:04Speaker 1: was how well it focused on Zuko as a character like,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Zuko always did get a certain amount of focus, but
- 0:11Speaker 1: the kind of focus he got in book two was
- 0:14Speaker 1: wow perfect. Aang's story is honestly of flat character arc. Generally,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Ang knows who he is and where he's going, even
- 0:23Speaker 1: if the journey's hard, and a lot of his issues
- 0:25Speaker 1: come from trying to stop the world from corrupting him.
- 0:29Speaker 1: On the other hand, Zuko's character arc is the perfect
- 0:31Speaker 1: contrast in that he is a villain trying to become good,
- 0:35Speaker 1: and the internal struggle is so intense that it actually
- 0:39Speaker 1: makes him sick. Zuko's character arc from start to finish
- 0:43Speaker 1: is the most riveting in all of Avatar, and the
- 0:47Speaker 1: way that book two concludes with him betraying Iro and
- 0:52Speaker 1: choosing to go back to villainy has impacts that flow
- 0:55Speaker 1: throughout the rest of the story. But what if Zuko
- 0:57Speaker 1: made a different decision, What if he didn't decide to
- 1:01Speaker 1: betray Iro. Well, that's what we're going to find out today.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So enter my spirit library and choose a scroll that
- 1:09Speaker 1: dictates the fate of a world that never existed, where
- 1:12Speaker 1: time and fate split into another universe, a universe where
- 1:16Speaker 1: Zuko never betrayed Iro. Welcome to the Amagi. Only twenty
- 1:21Speaker 1: five percent of our viewers are subscribed, so if you're
- 1:23Speaker 1: a fan of the video, please like in double check
- 1:25Speaker 1: if you are subscribed. And with that out of the way,
- 1:28Speaker 1: let's get into the video. Is it your own destiny
- 1:31Speaker 1: or is it the destiny someone else has tried to
- 1:33Speaker 1: force on you? The voice of Iro spoke, berating Zuko,
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm begging you, Prince Suko, It's time for you to
- 1:40Speaker 1: look inward and begin asking yourself the big questions, Who
- 1:44Speaker 1: are you? And what do you want? This scene played
- 1:48Speaker 1: over in Zuko's mind again and again during the time
- 1:51Speaker 1: he'd been sick. The visions of his time as fire
- 1:54Speaker 1: Lord something that may never come, as well as the
- 1:57Speaker 1: visions of himself with the avatar's Azaro mark on his head.
- 2:01Speaker 1: These things echoed through his mind like a bell that
- 2:04Speaker 1: tolled over and over again. But eventually he awakened, and
- 2:08Speaker 1: when he had his outlook on life was different. Something
- 2:13Speaker 1: had changed for him, and he wasn't sure what it was.
- 2:16Speaker 1: The sky was bluer, the dirt was well dirtier, and
- 2:21Speaker 1: the sun's heat felt less like oppression and more like
- 2:25Speaker 1: a gentle kiss to its favorite fire Bender. This was
- 2:28Speaker 1: Zuko's turning point, the point where his yoke was lost
- 2:32Speaker 1: and freedom, true freedom, was attained. No longer bound was
- 2:37Speaker 1: he to his destiny, to finding the avatar, to conquering
- 2:40Speaker 1: the world. No, he could be anyone he wanted. He
- 2:44Speaker 1: could be anything. And what was he now? He was Lee,
- 2:48Speaker 1: a migrant to Bossing Say, who now worked to make
- 2:52Speaker 1: tea with his uncle Mushi. Giving a stretch, he grabbed
- 2:55Speaker 1: his work clothes and put them on. As he entered
- 2:58Speaker 1: the teahouse, he was greeted by Iro with the smile
- 3:00Speaker 1: and a gentle good morning. Zuko shot it back with
- 3:03Speaker 1: finger guns and began to sweep with a whistle. He
- 3:07Speaker 1: swept the dust out the door onto the earth where
- 3:09Speaker 1: it belonged, a gift to every earth Bender in boss
- 3:12Speaker 1: singhs Say that had so graciously given them a chance
- 3:15Speaker 1: to live with them. Everything was going well. Zuko kept
- 3:19Speaker 1: up his work. His happy disposition had left Iiro pleased,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and even the continual visitation of Jin, a girl with
- 3:25Speaker 1: a little crush on Zuko, could only seem to brighten
- 3:28Speaker 1: Zuko's day more. As Zuko would watch her leave doing
- 3:32Speaker 1: more deliveries for the Silver Fang, he had a bit
- 3:34Speaker 1: of a worried face that Iro noticed. Do you care
- 3:37Speaker 1: for this girl much? Pritt Lee, he asked. Zuko hadn't
- 3:42Speaker 1: thought on it much, but Iro had told him to
- 3:44Speaker 1: start asking himself what it was he wanted out of life,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and he began to realize that what he wanted might
- 3:49Speaker 1: have been a peaceful life, a life in the city,
- 3:53Speaker 1: making honest money, working an honest job, and perhaps well
- 3:57Speaker 1: providing for a family, a family that maybe he would
- 4:01Speaker 1: have with Jin well, as destiny would have it. The
- 4:04Speaker 1: fame of Ira or I guessed Moshi, as well as
- 4:07Speaker 1: his passion for Tea, seemed to have spread into the
- 4:10Speaker 1: farthest parts of the Earth Kingdom, and they were invited
- 4:13Speaker 1: straight to the capital to serve tea to the Earth King.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Little did they know that the Earth King had already
- 4:19Speaker 1: been deposed and that soon the Council of Five would
- 4:22Speaker 1: be as well. A Zula was in the Earth Kingdom
- 4:26Speaker 1: and she began to seize control, and now she wanted
- 4:29Speaker 1: to tie off loose ends, and those loose ends included
- 4:32Speaker 1: not only the Avatar but also her brother and uncle,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and so. As they arrived at the palace of the
- 4:38Speaker 1: Earth King, Ira mused at how long he'd imagine himself
- 4:41Speaker 1: coming to this place one day, and that when he did,
- 4:45Speaker 1: he would do so as a conqueror, but now he
- 4:47Speaker 1: was here as a guest to serve the Earth King tea.
- 4:51Speaker 1: He mentioned how funny fate could be, to which Zuko agreed.
- 4:55Speaker 1: As they entered the palace and sat down at a
- 4:57Speaker 1: table before the Earth King's throne, which as yet sat empty,
- 5:01Speaker 1: Zuko couldn't help but wonder if it was natural for
- 5:03Speaker 1: the Earth King to be so tardy. He mentioned this
- 5:06Speaker 1: to Iro, who stated that it was possible that he'd overslept.
- 5:09Speaker 1: This statement was a silent answer to the silent question
- 5:12Speaker 1: Zuko had no sooner had Iro said this, than agents
- 5:15Speaker 1: of the Dialee began to enter the room with them,
- 5:18Speaker 1: Zuko noticed them being surrounded and stated that something was off.
- 5:22Speaker 1: That's when Azula entered the room. Immediately, Zuko stood, getting
- 5:26Speaker 1: all worked up, as Iro sat there calmly. He grabbed
- 5:29Speaker 1: his cup of tea and slowly rose As Zuko and
- 5:32Speaker 1: Azula exchanged barbes as siblings with a rivalry as intense
- 5:36Speaker 1: as theirs could only be expected to do. He broke
- 5:38Speaker 1: them up with a question, Azula, have I ever told
- 5:42Speaker 1: you how I became known as the Dragon of the West,
- 5:45Speaker 1: he asked. I'm not in the mood for a long anecdote, Uncle,
- 5:48Speaker 1: she said, Iro stroked his beard. It was more of
- 5:52Speaker 1: a demonstration, he said. Zuko understood the point of Iro's words.
- 5:56Speaker 1: He stepped into Iro's shadow as his mouth opened and
- 5:59Speaker 1: he began to spew flames everywhere. Turning in a circle
- 6:02Speaker 1: to defend himself, Zuko popped through the paper walls with
- 6:05Speaker 1: his own fire bending and stepped through as Iro followed
- 6:08Speaker 1: close behind, still spewing fire like a dragon. The two
- 6:12Speaker 1: of them ran toward the nearest outer wall, and with
- 6:15Speaker 1: a smooth flow of movements, Iro redirected his chee into form,
- 6:19Speaker 1: not flame, but lightning, pushing his fingers forward. The thundering
- 6:23Speaker 1: roar of lightning pierced the air and destroyed a wall,
- 6:27Speaker 1: Offering an escape, Iro ran and jumped, landing on one
- 6:30Speaker 1: of the topiaries below. Come on, you won't get hurt,
- 6:33Speaker 1: he called up to Zuko. Zuko stood there for a moment.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Azula was approaching from behind her, and the Daiee for
- 6:41Speaker 1: a moment, Zuko seriously considered confronting her, demanding an agne kai,
- 6:45Speaker 1: but as if Iro sensed this in him, he shouted up,
- 6:48Speaker 1: it's no use, she won't accept an agne kai. Jump
- 6:52Speaker 1: down so we can get out of here. Zuko looked
- 6:54Speaker 1: over his shoulder to see Azula for that moment, and
- 6:57Speaker 1: then a moment later he jumped down, crushing his own topiary.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Let's go uncle. Of course, Azula had the daylie give chase,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but she wasn't very optimistic that they would catch him,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and so she retreated back into the palace to take
- 7:10Speaker 1: her place on the throne. At about this time, the
- 7:13Speaker 1: Daili were breaking down the gates to Bossing Say. The
- 7:16Speaker 1: leaflets were being dropped, and the full conquering of Bossing
- 7:19Speaker 1: Say would begin. Not long from now, the Avatar would
- 7:22Speaker 1: appear and she would capture them with the help of
- 7:25Speaker 1: the Daili. Zuko and Iro ran from the palace and hid.
- 7:29Speaker 1: They began to make their way out of the Inner
- 7:31Speaker 1: Ring and worked their way back to the Outer Ring.
- 7:33Speaker 1: During their times alone on the earth trains leading out
- 7:36Speaker 1: of the Inner Wall, they spoke, we should leave Bossing Say.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Iro said he hated to admit it, but they needed to.
- 7:43Speaker 1: But what about our life that we built here, Zuko asked.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Prince Zuko, but even when you try to
- 7:49Speaker 1: start a new life, sometimes remnants of your previous one
- 7:52Speaker 1: find their way in and destroy what you have built.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I haven't prepared you for that. So then
- 7:58Speaker 1: you're telling me that the destiny and he forced upon me,
- 8:01Speaker 1: the destiny I gave everything to escape, is still on me.
- 8:05Speaker 1: In life, Zuko, things don't always go the way we
- 8:08Speaker 1: hope or plan. It's not in what we get knocked
- 8:11Speaker 1: down by, but how we rise back up that defines us.
- 8:14Speaker 1: We can still build this new life we've wanted, but
- 8:17Speaker 1: we should do it away from Azula's eyes. Zuko sat
- 8:21Speaker 1: there silently. It hurts me too, Prince Zuko, Iro said,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I truly loved running that tea shop. It was one
- 8:28Speaker 1: of the most fulfilling things I've done in my life,
- 8:31Speaker 1: beyond being Lieuten's father. Zuko was silent for a moment.
- 8:35Speaker 1: We need to go back back to the shop. It's
- 8:38Speaker 1: too dangerous, Prince Zuko. The DAILI will be there waiting
- 8:41Speaker 1: for us, I know, but we have to go back.
- 8:44Speaker 1: They know about jin If they know where we are,
- 8:47Speaker 1: then they know about Jin. By this time, they've already
- 8:49Speaker 1: set a trap. Iro said, what do you propose we do?
- 8:52Speaker 1: I can't leave her behind. Ira was silent, Then he
- 8:56Speaker 1: said there may be something we can do. The two
- 8:59Speaker 1: of them made their way ba back to the Upper Ring,
- 9:01Speaker 1: something Azula would not have expected. Upon getting there, they
- 9:04Speaker 1: traveled to the house that Team Avatar would have been
- 9:06Speaker 1: housed in. Now, remember, Prince Zuko, you are no longer
- 9:10Speaker 1: hunting them. He is your only hope at rescuing Chin.
- 9:13Speaker 1: So be courteous. Iro knocked at the door. The door opened,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and there stood Tough, happily waving the other two there.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Sakka and Ang were both incredibly shocked by their presence.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Zuko cleared his throat Hi, Zuko here, I was wondering
- 9:29Speaker 1: if we could have a quick chat. We need help,
- 9:32Speaker 1: Iro said bluntly, Well, we don't have time. Saka said,
- 9:35Speaker 1: help yourselves. We have a rescue mission undertake. I do too,
- 9:39Speaker 1: Zuko said, drawing a questioning stare from Ang, let's hear
- 9:43Speaker 1: them out. Ang said. Saka was displeased by this, but
- 9:46Speaker 1: otherwise he submitted to Ang's decision. As they sat in
- 9:49Speaker 1: the Avatar's house. Iro began to explain, the Earth King,
- 9:53Speaker 1: whether he knows it or not, has been overthrown by
- 9:56Speaker 1: the Fire Nation, and is that your fault? Saka asked,
- 10:00Speaker 1: you want it to be? Zuko asked, his gaze as
- 10:02Speaker 1: searing as as fire bending. Sakka squinted, What's that supposed
- 10:06Speaker 1: to mean? You'll suddenly be responsible? If I say yes, No,
- 10:10Speaker 1: it means I'll put my foot so high up here enough,
- 10:13Speaker 1: Prince Zuko, Iro said, no, Avatar Ang, we are not
- 10:17Speaker 1: responsible for the coup that is taking place at the palace,
- 10:20Speaker 1: at least not in a direct enough way that matters,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I believe. Does Azula have Qatara? Ang asked? It is
- 10:26Speaker 1: very likely, so Iro replied. Her victory over the Earth
- 10:30Speaker 1: Kingdom is already a legendary feat, but it will reach
- 10:33Speaker 1: into mythic status and secure her as the next fire
- 10:36Speaker 1: Lord to be revered for generations if she manages to
- 10:40Speaker 1: also capture the Avatar. It is likely that your friend
- 10:43Speaker 1: is bait designed to pull you in and capture you.
- 10:46Speaker 1: So what do you suppose we do? Ang asked, Azula
- 10:49Speaker 1: is attempting the same strategy to capture us as well.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Someone very close to Zuko is being held captive, and
- 10:56Speaker 1: the only way to free her is to have proper help.
- 10:58Speaker 1: That's where you come in. In exchange for helping you
- 11:01Speaker 1: retrieve your friend, we will lee, Bossing says, upper ring
- 11:05Speaker 1: into the lower ring, where we will then rescue Jin.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Once we have rescued her and her grandfather, we will escape,
- 11:11Speaker 1: Bossing say, and begin to work on our next strategies.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And what can you say that's supposed to make us
- 11:16Speaker 1: trust you, Saka asked. You've been chasing us from the
- 11:19Speaker 1: southern pole of the North, you almost got hang killed,
- 11:22Speaker 1: and now you expect us to trust you. What other
- 11:24Speaker 1: choice do we have? Ang said, If a Zula has Katara,
- 11:27Speaker 1: then we don't have a choice. Either we join forces
- 11:30Speaker 1: with Zuko and his uncle, or we lose Qatara. Saka grunted.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I hate it when you're right. What's the plan? It
- 11:37Speaker 1: is likely that your friend is being held under the castle,
- 11:40Speaker 1: likely in the lower caves. Taf will be integral to
- 11:43Speaker 1: this rescue mission, as her uncanny ability to see through
- 11:47Speaker 1: vibration will allow her to quickly find any hollows underground
- 11:50Speaker 1: where a person may be held. She, along with Zuko
- 11:53Speaker 1: and I will go down to rescue her. Meanwhile, you
- 11:57Speaker 1: and your club wielding friend will go to the palace
- 11:59Speaker 1: proper and spring the trap with the zula. Use the
- 12:02Speaker 1: knowledge you have of the trap to escape her grasp.
- 12:05Speaker 1: A fresh hole has been opened into the courtyard from
- 12:07Speaker 1: the wall on the right of the throne room. It
- 12:09Speaker 1: should still remain open unless a zula has had it closed.
- 12:13Speaker 1: If you manage to draw the battle to the courtyard,
- 12:16Speaker 1: the inclusion of water, earth, and fresh air will give
- 12:19Speaker 1: you the advantage against her and the dye leave and
- 12:21Speaker 1: will give you the chance to escape if and when
- 12:24Speaker 1: the battle goes south while they are distracted, Zuko TOF
- 12:28Speaker 1: and I will find your friend and escape. Ang nodded.
- 12:32Speaker 1: It sounds like a good plan, and so the group
- 12:35Speaker 1: got up and began to make their way out of
- 12:36Speaker 1: the house and back to the palace where Azula was
- 12:39Speaker 1: holed up. They split up. As they did so, Zuko,
- 12:42Speaker 1: Iro and Tof waited for the signal the sound or
- 12:45Speaker 1: feeling of fighting, and as the feeling reached off first
- 12:49Speaker 1: she told them it was safe to move. They snuck
- 12:52Speaker 1: through the palace and used Tof's echo location to find
- 12:54Speaker 1: the path down to the holding cells. Once they did
- 12:57Speaker 1: they opened it up and began to pull Katara through.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Zuko helped her out of the hole, only for her
- 13:02Speaker 1: to be shocked, angry, and disappointed at his presence. She
- 13:06Speaker 1: asked what he was doing here in the most condescending
- 13:08Speaker 1: way possible. I'm keeping my end of a promise. She
- 13:11Speaker 1: didn't know what that meant, but upon being spotted by
- 13:14Speaker 1: the day Lee, they began to flee. Taf bought them
- 13:16Speaker 1: a little time by creating a stone wall and hurling
- 13:19Speaker 1: it at the day Lee that were chasing them. They
- 13:21Speaker 1: made their way out of the palace and into the open,
- 13:23Speaker 1: where more agents approached them. Zuko and Iro began to
- 13:26Speaker 1: shoot their flames at them, but the Daylie created stone
- 13:29Speaker 1: walls of their own to catch. This wasn't the best
- 13:32Speaker 1: for them. While fire bending was the most aggressive bending art,
- 13:36Speaker 1: it also lacked substance when compared to the earth benders.
- 13:39Speaker 1: But Taf and Katara were here, which helped even the
- 13:42Speaker 1: playing field a little. They began to escape the palace,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and as they did, Iro stopped and fired a blast
- 13:48Speaker 1: of lightning up into the sky, the sight and sound
- 13:51Speaker 1: of it serving as a signal that their extraction mission
- 13:53Speaker 1: was successful. Not long after, Ang and Saka met up
- 13:57Speaker 1: at the Avatar's housing, where Ang and Qatara with a
- 14:00Speaker 1: hug of relief. We don't have much time, Saka said,
- 14:03Speaker 1: interrupting them. We need to escape before the dayly spots us.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Where will we go, Katara asked, the lower ring of
- 14:09Speaker 1: bossingh say, Zuko said, and why should we take any
- 14:12Speaker 1: orders from you? Katara asked. We made a promise to Zuko, Katara,
- 14:16Speaker 1: someone he cares for is being held captive, just like
- 14:18Speaker 1: you were. Aang said, He said, if we would help him,
- 14:21Speaker 1: then he'd help us. He helped, and now I have
- 14:24Speaker 1: to help him. I made a promise. Katara looked between
- 14:27Speaker 1: Ang and Zuko and then let out a sigh. Fine,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and so they took an earth train from the Upper
- 14:33Speaker 1: Ring to the Lower Ring, and there they entered the
- 14:35Speaker 1: part of town that Zuko and Iro called home. They
- 14:38Speaker 1: stopped by the Pow family tea house. It was already empty.
- 14:42Speaker 1: They had hoped that the owners had fled as soon
- 14:44Speaker 1: as word came that the Fire Nation would attack. Iiro
- 14:47Speaker 1: went to collect their things. So this is where you've
- 14:50Speaker 1: been living, Aang asked, hard to believe the crown prints
- 14:53Speaker 1: of the Fire Nations working in a tea shop. Saka said,
- 14:56Speaker 1: never was my idea. It was my uncle's. He loves tea.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I couldn't care less, but it kept us alive, and honestly,
- 15:03Speaker 1: I was just starting to get happy living here. Ang
- 15:06Speaker 1: put his hand on Zuko's shoulder. I'm sorry, Zuko shrugged
- 15:09Speaker 1: it off. It's nothing. We'll build a new life once
- 15:12Speaker 1: we leave, but first we need to find Gin. Who's Gin,
- 15:16Speaker 1: Qatara asked. Zuko was quiet. Ang spoke on his behalf,
- 15:20Speaker 1: the person I promised to help him find. After Iro
- 15:23Speaker 1: returned downstairs with their things, he tossed a bag to Zuko.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Let's go get Jin and her grandfather. They began to
- 15:30Speaker 1: make their way to the apartment where Gin and Gongong lived.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Iiro told them about the internal layout of the building
- 15:35Speaker 1: and how they get infiltrated. Iiro said that they would
- 15:38Speaker 1: go in through the front door and spring the trap,
- 15:40Speaker 1: and that Team Avatar would come in from behind, and
- 15:42Speaker 1: that's just what they did. Zuko knocked on the door.
- 15:45Speaker 1: There was no response. He knocked a little louder. Jin,
- 15:49Speaker 1: it's me, if you can hear me, open up. There
- 15:51Speaker 1: was no response. He kicked the door in and made
- 15:54Speaker 1: his way through the home. He turned the corner and
- 15:56Speaker 1: saw Jin sitting alone. She seemed tired and upset, stains
- 16:00Speaker 1: of tears still on her face. Zuko rushed over to
- 16:03Speaker 1: Gin Jin. Are you okay? She shook her head and
- 16:06Speaker 1: pointed into a room where a man lay on a bed.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Katara entered the room, ready to provide medical care, only
- 16:12Speaker 1: to discover that the elderly man had passed away. She
- 16:15Speaker 1: shook her head in Zuko's direction to tell him that
- 16:17Speaker 1: there wasn't anything that could be done. Zuko took Gin
- 16:20Speaker 1: by the shoulders. We need to get out of here.
- 16:22Speaker 1: The daylie have betrayed the Earth Kingdom and the Fire
- 16:25Speaker 1: Nation is on its way to conquer. Bossing say, we
- 16:27Speaker 1: need to get out of the city while we still can.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Jin nodded. Zuko helped her up. They made their way outside,
- 16:33Speaker 1: where Ang lifted up a whistle of sorts and blew
- 16:36Speaker 1: into it, only for no audible tone to be heard. Suddenly,
- 16:40Speaker 1: from out of the sky, a massive beast of white
- 16:43Speaker 1: fur with a brown arrow on its head landed. A
- 16:45Speaker 1: beast Zuko had tracked for ages, and now he was
- 16:49Speaker 1: going to be the one escaping on it. Funny how
- 16:51Speaker 1: destiny works out, dey Prince Zuko. These words from their
- 16:54Speaker 1: arrival at the Palace were now replaying in Zuko's head
- 16:57Speaker 1: as he helped Jin climb aboard. They all climbed atop
- 17:00Speaker 1: the sky bison as aang took the reins. Apa yep, yep,
- 17:03Speaker 1: he shouted. The massive bison took to the air with
- 17:06Speaker 1: the grace of a bird, something unimaginable if you weren't
- 17:09Speaker 1: there to see it. As they flew through the skies,
- 17:12Speaker 1: Zuko tried to comfort Jin. What happened, he asked, when
- 17:15Speaker 1: the Dilee broke into our house and attempted to take
- 17:17Speaker 1: us captive. My grandfather suffered a heart attack. I tried
- 17:21Speaker 1: to help him, but I couldn't save him. I got
- 17:23Speaker 1: him killed. She said, you, Zuko asked, yes, I was
- 17:27Speaker 1: working with the Silver Fang to loosen the grip of
- 17:29Speaker 1: the Daylee on the earth King in national affairs. I'm
- 17:32Speaker 1: sorry I made you come clean up my mess. Lee,
- 17:35Speaker 1: she said, Lee, Katara asked with a confused tone. Saka
- 17:39Speaker 1: shook his head at Katara to stop her from saying
- 17:41Speaker 1: anything else. Zuko stepped in, though, because she deserved to
- 17:44Speaker 1: know the truth. It wasn't your fault, Gin, it was mine,
- 17:48Speaker 1: How was it yours? She asked. Zuko took a long
- 17:51Speaker 1: breath and let it out. The day are no longer
- 17:54Speaker 1: under the command of long Feg. They're under the command
- 17:57Speaker 1: of a Zula, Princess of the Fire Nation. They came
- 17:59Speaker 1: out to you because she wanted me, and you are
- 18:03Speaker 1: important to me. Why would she care about us, Jin asked.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Zuko then spoke because I'm her brother. Jin was confused. Lee.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Zuko continued, my name isn't Lee. That was just an
- 18:15Speaker 1: alias I used to blend in. My name is Zuko,
- 18:18Speaker 1: and I'm was Crown Prince of the Fire Nation. Jin
- 18:23Speaker 1: was startled by this information. Wait, you're actually the Crown
- 18:26Speaker 1: Prince of the Fire Nation. No, that's not true, it
- 18:29Speaker 1: is Katara said. That's the Avatar, she said, pointing at Ang.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Zuko has been hunting us for a long time, so
- 18:35Speaker 1: we would know. Jin looked to Zuko, So why did
- 18:38Speaker 1: you even come to bossing say to help the Fire
- 18:41Speaker 1: Nation conquer it? She demanded, her tune almost accusatory. Zuko
- 18:45Speaker 1: was honest with her. I never wanted to be in
- 18:47Speaker 1: bossing say, but after my many failures to capture the Avatar,
- 18:51Speaker 1: I was brought back to the capitol and tried for
- 18:53Speaker 1: my incompetence. My uncle and I fled and ended up
- 18:56Speaker 1: settling in Bossing Say, where we took on the names
- 18:58Speaker 1: Lee and Mushi. I wasn't happy, and I tried to
- 19:01Speaker 1: capture this bison to use it to lure the avatar
- 19:04Speaker 1: to me, hoping I could restore my honor. But I
- 19:06Speaker 1: let go. I finally came to realize that I was
- 19:09Speaker 1: fighting a losing battle against a man who dictated my
- 19:12Speaker 1: fate from birth. I decided to let go and take
- 19:15Speaker 1: back my fate, and instead set the bison free. Wait,
- 19:19Speaker 1: you're the one who rescued Appa, Ang asked, looking back.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Zuko nodded, ag looked almost ready to cry. Then, in
- 19:25Speaker 1: barely more than a whisper, he spoke, thank you. Zuko
- 19:29Speaker 1: looked back. After that decision, I suffered my very body
- 19:32Speaker 1: revolting against my decision to let go of everything I
- 19:35Speaker 1: had been to that point, but I grew happier, serving tea, sweeping,
- 19:40Speaker 1: living the simple life, talking with you, and then my
- 19:43Speaker 1: past caught up with me. Azula discovered us and decided
- 19:47Speaker 1: to use you as a means to capture us. If
- 19:49Speaker 1: I had never entered your life. Your grandfather would still
- 19:52Speaker 1: be alive. He said, I'm sorry. I should have known
- 19:55Speaker 1: to never involve myself with you. You lost your parents
- 19:58Speaker 1: to the fire nation that my father commanded. I had
- 20:00Speaker 1: no right to try and even meet with you. He
- 20:03Speaker 1: sat there in silence. Jin then spoke, your darn right.
- 20:06Speaker 1: You had no right to involve yourself in my life.
- 20:09Speaker 1: You had no right to waltz in de bossing say
- 20:11Speaker 1: like refugees and a war you started. You had no
- 20:13Speaker 1: right to make tea and serve it to my family,
- 20:15Speaker 1: friends and neighbors. Jet was right about you, and you
- 20:18Speaker 1: got him arrested. You had no right to enter any
- 20:21Speaker 1: of our lives and ruin what piece we had, she said.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Zuko looked down in a way, accepting all of her scorn.
- 20:27Speaker 1: After all, she was right to hate him. But still,
- 20:30Speaker 1: she said, I think I knew for a long time
- 20:32Speaker 1: what you were, and I cared for you anyway. Zuko
- 20:36Speaker 1: looked up, confused by her statement. Jin continued, that night
- 20:40Speaker 1: at the firelight Fountain, the lights were out. You told
- 20:43Speaker 1: me to close my eyes, and I did, and then
- 20:45Speaker 1: when I opened them, the lights were going. There was
- 20:48Speaker 1: only one way you could have done that, and I
- 20:49Speaker 1: knew exactly what it was. I knew what it meant
- 20:52Speaker 1: for you as well. I could have never guessed that
- 20:54Speaker 1: you were really the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation,
- 20:56Speaker 1: but I knew you must have been from there. What
- 20:59Speaker 1: I never told you was when I fled to Bossing Say,
- 21:02Speaker 1: after the deaths of my parents, I was stopped by
- 21:04Speaker 1: two Fire Nation soldiers who were well within their rights
- 21:07Speaker 1: to kill us, but upon seeing me and my grandfather,
- 21:10Speaker 1: upon knowing what we were fleeing from, they let us pass.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I realized at that time that anyone can have a
- 21:16Speaker 1: good heart, regardless of where they come from, and that
- 21:19Speaker 1: includes you, She said, I can sense it. You have
- 21:22Speaker 1: a good heart, And even though you came from the
- 21:25Speaker 1: very castle of the fire Lord, you still lit those
- 21:27Speaker 1: flames for me, nearly exposing yourself just for me. It
- 21:31Speaker 1: tells me who you are Lee, I mean Zuko, and
- 21:34Speaker 1: it tells me that I wasn't wrong to care about you.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And so from their team, Avatar continued their journey. But
- 21:40Speaker 1: since jin Zuko and Iro had nowhere else to go,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and because Ang needed a fire bending mentor, he requisitioned
- 21:46Speaker 1: Iro to teach him. Iro happily agreed, and during that
- 21:50Speaker 1: time he teaches Aang how fire bending works, how lightning
- 21:53Speaker 1: bending works, and further, how lightning redirection works. Aang takes
- 21:58Speaker 1: to this information quickly and manages to master fire bending
- 22:01Speaker 1: with Iro's help. Iro considers it his secret pleasure to
- 22:05Speaker 1: have been a help to the avatar, revealing himself as
- 22:07Speaker 1: a member of the White Lotus. To that end, Iro
- 22:10Speaker 1: asks Aang to take them to a very certain location,
- 22:13Speaker 1: which just so happens to be a White Lotus hideout. There,
- 22:17Speaker 1: Iro introduces Ang, Qatara, Toff, and Soka to the group
- 22:20Speaker 1: that had secretly vowed to help Ang through thick and thin.
- 22:23Speaker 1: It was here that Aang explained to them the plan
- 22:26Speaker 1: of the Day of Black Sun, in which they would
- 22:28Speaker 1: attack the Fire Nation capital and depose the fire Lord.
- 22:31Speaker 1: From here, things largely get back on track very quickly.
- 22:35Speaker 1: The Day of Black Sun occurs, and though the attack
- 22:37Speaker 1: on the Fire Nation capital is a success, it doesn't
- 22:41Speaker 1: resolve the issue, as Ozi manages to escape, and with
- 22:44Speaker 1: little left to do, they merely keep practicing fighting and
- 22:48Speaker 1: learning to prepare Aang for the day he must fight Ozi.
- 22:51Speaker 1: During the day that Souzan's comet makes its way to
- 22:54Speaker 1: Earth again. Zuko plays a big role in helping Ang
- 22:57Speaker 1: get ready for this event, though he most certainly doesn't
- 23:00Speaker 1: like where Zuko is going with his teachings. Despite Ozi
- 23:03Speaker 1: being his father and Azula being his sister, Zuko is
- 23:07Speaker 1: advocating for their deaths, which is something Ag cannot do.
- 23:10Speaker 1: He attempts to meditate to find a way to solve
- 23:13Speaker 1: this problem, only to receive no help from the other avatars,
- 23:16Speaker 1: and instead receives help from a lion turtle who shows
- 23:20Speaker 1: Ang the way. On the day that Susan's comet comes,
- 23:23Speaker 1: Zuko manages to defeat Azula and take the crown as
- 23:25Speaker 1: the new fire Lord, with Aang defeating Ozi for good.
- 23:29Speaker 1: With the war over, life begins to settle down, and
- 23:31Speaker 1: Zuko eventually marries Jin. The two have a daughter named Izumi,
- 23:36Speaker 1: who would later come to be the next fire Lord. Eventually,
- 23:39Speaker 1: Iro departed the physical world for the spirit world before
- 23:42Speaker 1: his death could occur, and Zuko vowed to follow him
- 23:45Speaker 1: there one day. But until such a day, he was
- 23:48Speaker 1: going to help the avatar protect the peace they had
- 23:50Speaker 1: hard fought and won. And that's where I want to
- 23:54Speaker 1: call it, honestly. Stories about Zuko and Iro are always
- 23:57Speaker 1: so much fun as Iro is and always has been
- 24:00Speaker 1: and always will be my favorite character and soccer. I
- 24:04Speaker 1: like soccer too. But anyway, I hope you enjoyed listening
- 24:07Speaker 1: to this story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
