- 0:00The deepest message of Psalm 35 is that Hashem does not ask us to become invulnerable.
- 0:07He invite us to discover the divine strength concealed within our vulnerability.
- 0:16When we face world challenges when other fail to recognize our goodness, when the soul feels powerless against forces greater than itself, we can remember David's word,"Say to my soul, I am your salvation." Miriam, you should repeat that again,'cause that's pretty powerful what you're saying.
- 0:50psalm 35 is, sounds a little rough, because every time David is, complaining that he has so many enemies.
- 1:00He w- is pleading to Hashem to protect him.
- 1:04Is one of King David most emotional, powerful prayers.
- 1:10It begins with a desperate plea for Hashem to defend him against those who seek to harm him, and gradually reveals deeper spiritual journey, the transformation of suffering, betrayal, and injustice into greater faith, humility, and closeness to Hashem.
- 1:32So that is our life.
- 1:34We feel that.
- 1:36We feel constantly betrayed, injustice in our life.
- 1:40And how to transform that, that is the question.
- 1:44Through the lens of Hasidut and Kabbalah, these psalms can be understood not only as David's struggle against external enemies, but also as a description of soul's inner battle against the forces that obstruct its connection to its divine source.
- 2:06The central spiritual question is, how can who experience injustice, rejection, or betrayal transform that painful experience into an opportunity for a spiritual elevation?
- 2:23Usually what happen is by default, or we get depressed, or we get angry, or we, or we are completely confused.
- 2:34So one of the profound teachings we can draw from Psalm 35 is that our greatest victory is not merely to defeat of the enemy, but the revelation of Hashem's presence within the very darkness that threatens to overwhelm us.
- 2:57How we can see Hashem there?
- 3:00That is a question, a huge question.
- 3:03So here, the Tzemach Tzedek, that is one of the Rebbeim of Chabad, he appoint, explore the verse 10 of the Psalms says,"All my bones shall declare Hashem, who is like you?" In Hasidic thought, the ultimate pur- purpose of serving Hashem is not to elevate the soul while leaving the body behind, rather the soul must illuminate the body Until every, our physical existence becomes an expression of divine consciousness.
- 3:41We have to connect our, human consciousness with the divine consciousness.
- 3:48This concept entails infusing physical action with a sense of holiness.
- 3:54Means when you are eating, you are bringing holiness into your food.
- 4:01By, saying a blessing, by showing you satisfaction after you finish to eat.
- 4:09By going, to a friend, by sharing with anybody, your knowledge.
- 4:15By connecting and if you have a friend that suffer for any type of disease, going visiting them.
- 4:23By showing- kindness Continuing the psalm says the concept about the bones.
- 4:30The bones represent the deepest structure of our physical existence.
- 4:35They support us, carry us, and give us stability When King David declares that all his bones will praise Hashem, he reveals a spiritual state in which faith is no longer confined to the intellect or emotion.
- 4:57It penetrates the marrow of his being.
- 5:01Means our devotion to Hashem, our prayers must come from our essence, our visceral body has to praise Hashem.
- 5:13Is not an intellectual, reading.
- 5:16When we learn Torah, is not a intellectual discipline.
- 5:21Is more we have to integrate this wisdom inside our bodies.
- 5:28This is the moment from knowing Hashem intellectually to experiencing his presence throughout our existence.
- 5:37Is an experience.
- 5:39Praying is not a reading of beautiful words.
- 5:44Is an experience.
- 5:46Our connection with Hashem must be, we have to experience it.
- 5:52I don't know if I am be clear enough of what is the idea of intellect, understanding intellectually and an experience.
- 6:00Life is an experience the spiritual goal is not merely to speak words of faith, but to become a living expression of faith.
- 6:11We have to represent that faith.
- 6:15And there is another side of the Psalm says, from the same verse 10, he says,"The poor person and the mighty enemy," says about the battle between the yetzer tov and the yetzer ha.
- 6:30So who saves the poor from one stronger than he?
- 6:36Who is-- who serves the poor?
- 6:39Here, the words of the Tzemach Tzedek, says that the yetzer tov is the poor person, the inclination toward goodness, while the powerful oppressor represent the yetzer hara, the inclination towards wrongdoing.
- 6:58Why is the yetzer tov described as poor?
- 7:01The spiritual inclination often speak in a quiet voice.
- 7:07That's why sometimes we don't listen to our, good side.
- 7:12Because it's very quiet.
- 7:13It's a soft voice.
- 7:15It does not necessarily demand immediate gratification or attract attention.
- 7:22The Yetser Hara, by contrast, can appear powerful, urgent, and persuasive very much.
- 7:29This creates an important paradox.
- 7:32The voice that appear weak may be connected to the deepest truth of the soul, while the voice that appears powerful may draw its strength from temporary desire and illusion This is the Yetser Hara, temporary desire of satisfy my selfish needs.
- 7:50I want a new car.
- 7:52That is the Yetser Hara.
- 7:54I want you to do that.
- 7:56This is the demand of the Yetser Hara The spiritual struggle is therefore not simple, a battle between good and evil outside ourselves.
- 8:08It is also a struggle between the eternal identity of the soul and the temporary forces that seek to dominate our consciousness.
- 8:21So that is the two battles that we constantly have to confront.
- 8:28Hashem's salvation means empowering the divine soul to reveal its true strength.
- 8:35This is what we ask.
- 8:37We ask Hashem to empower our soul and to help us to overcome this battle.
- 8:46How we can also do when we feel that we are, not clear in our mind about about a situation, we have to pause and observe and see what are the thoughts coming into our mind.
- 9:06When we do that, we create a separation It's like I want to do something.
- 9:14In the computer, for example, I have to stop.
- 9:17I have to pause.
- 9:18And when I pause, I am allowing my mind to quiet, my emotions I and the right decisions are taken at this moment.
- 9:28everything is solved immediately In verse twelve and fourteen, of the Psalm, David describes something deeply painful.
- 9:38He had shown compassion.
- 9:41This is another point.
- 9:42He has shown compassion toward people who later turn against him.
- 9:48When they were ill, he wore sackcloth, fasted, and prayed for their recovery Yet they responded to his goodness with hostility.
- 10:01This presents a profound question, why does kindness sometimes seem to produce suffering rather than gratitude?
- 10:11This is what we see in life.
- 10:13In our own life, we are good friend, we try to help them, and we see that instead there is turn their back to us.
- 10:23We get perplexed how that can happen.
- 10:27So a Hasidic explanation of this passage Hasidut says, genuine hesed, loving kindness, must emerge from our relationship with Hashem rather than from our need to receive appreciation.
- 10:46If we wants to be kind to others, and we are expecting a return of their appreciation, that is wrong.
- 10:58Because then we are depending of that, and it's to be dependent.
- 11:02I don't do that because I need a recognition, or retribution.
- 11:08I do it because this is my way of doing.
- 11:12When we perform kindness solely because we expect gratitude, our happiness become dependent upon another person response.
- 11:23This is the idea.
- 11:24But when kindness flows from the divine essence of the soul, it becomes an expression of who we truly are.
- 11:34This does not mean tolerating mistreatment or abandoning healthy boundaries.
- 11:40David himself prays for protection and justice.
- 11:44We have to create boundaries, of course.
- 11:47Rather, it means that another person wrongdoing does not have to determine the spiritual quality of our own actions.
- 11:59David compassions, reveals his character.
- 12:03His enemies betray, reveals theirs.
- 12:07This creates a separation between them and me.
- 12:09They are the one that are misbehaving.
- 12:12It's not me.
- 12:13I am showing kindness.
- 12:15The other has the responsibility of not showing back or being betrayed or hostile to us another verse"Say to my soul, I am your salvation." In the third verse.
- 12:30One of the most spiritually moving verses in this psalm.
- 12:34Notice that David does not merely ask Hashem to remove his enemies.
- 12:40He asks Hashem to speak directly to his soul.
- 12:45Why?
- 12:45Because even after external danger disappears, fear can remain within the heart.
- 12:54A person may be physically safe, yet continue to experience uncertainty, anxiety, or emotional pain.
- 13:05David seeks something beyond the removal of suffering and inner awareness that his life is held within Hashem providence.
- 13:16That is the point.
- 13:17My life is held in Hashem's hand.
- 13:22There are two level of salvation, external and internal.
- 13:27External is the threatening circumstances change.
- 13:32Internal is the soul discovers a deeper connection with Hashem even before the circumstances change towards the end, Psalm says,"May Hashem be magnified who desire the peace of his servant." The Hebrew word for Shalom, that is peace, means more than the absence of conflict.
- 13:56It suggests a harmony, wholeness, and the reconciliation of opposing forces.
- 14:05From a Kabbalistic perspective, we can contemplate this Psalm as a movement from judgment and constriction toward Rachamim.
- 14:15That means compassion and mercy.
- 14:18At the beginning, David experiences conflict, hostility, and fear.
- 14:24At the conclusion, his attention turns towards Hashem's re- righteousness, peace, and praise.
- 14:33This is not necessarily a declaration that all his problems have disappeared.
- 14:39Rather, the Psalm concludes by directing his consciousness toward divine justice and the hope of redemption, Psalm thirty-five teaches us that a spiritual growth does not always begin in moments of peace.
- 14:57Sometimes it begins when we feel misunderstood, betrayed, powerless, or surrounded by circumstances beyond our control.
- 15:09So at those moment, the soul is invited to discover a deeper source of strength.
- 15:16Not the strength of domination, revenge, or control, but the strength of Bitachon, trust in Hashem.
- 15:25David does not deny his suffering.
- 15:28He brings it directly into his relationship with the Creator He transforms fear into prayer, vulnerability into faith, and the longing for justice into a declaration of divine greatness.
- 15:46The deepest message of Psalm 35 is that Hashem does not ask us to become invulnerable.
- 15:54He invite us to discover the divine strength concealed within our vulnerability.
- 16:02When we face world challenges when other fail to recognize our goodness, when the soul feels powerless against forces greater than itself, we can remember David's word,"Say to my soul, I am your salvation." Our task is not to allow the darkness to define our identity.
- 16:28We are souls carrying a spark of the infinite, and no external force can erase that essential connection.
- 16:39And when we reach the point where every part of our existence can proclaim,"Hashem, who is like you?" We have begun to transform the struggle itself into an instrument of divine revelation It's very beautiful.
- 16:59That is a huge lesson so what are the lessons we can derive from the psalm?
- 17:05To believe in Hashem's providence.
- 17:08That when we feel rejection hostility from other towards us, despite our, good intention of help, we have not to be dependent It's not important if they recognize or don't recognize me.
- 17:24I do because this is my way to be.
- 17:28This is being a direct channel of Hashem.
- 17:31I am the channel of Hashem, and here I receive His, strength, His energy.
- 17:38The psalm concludes with the verse: the Lord will give strength to His people, Israel.
- 17:42That would be the meditation.
- 17:44But now I would like to hear from you, your opinion and your input on it.
- 17:52Emunah Tova, if you are so kind.
- 17:54Sure.
- 17:54Today is your birthday, so you have extra power, to bless us and also to express your ideas about this psalm.
- 18:02Well, what you were saying does connect with, our physical actions We're transforming our spiritual into our physical actions.
- 18:18think that the question at the beginning was how come form action or betrayal into the spiritual operation, It's just the realism of our relationship with Hashem, the things that we do, We're because of our relationship with Him, and that transforms, any kind of darkness into light.
- 18:47And so maybe just keeping, focus on those things because I think we all go through some of that.
- 18:57Yes.
- 18:58But I think the opportunities, you know, like my mother's in the rehab and s- one of the, the men sitting at their dining table was cold, so I He was in a wheelchair, so I pushed him to his room to get a sweater and brought him back to the table.
- 19:15And it was a blessing for me, Julie, What I said was this one's a real struggle for me I think there were some key elements that you talked about.
- 19:26The idea of the battle of our lives, and that we're really born with the idea that we are gonna have this battle, and there's a specific battle that's created for us.
- 19:44And that it's really hard to believe in those moments that it is created for us, and that it is for us to have an elevation of our soul.
- 19:57So what I would like you to speak more on is the piece of the shalom that you talked about, how you go from despair and fear and everything like that to feeling moments that, where you talked about shalom.
- 20:11I have an asterisk by it, and I said,"How do you transfer that fear?
- 20:17How do get to that believing in Hashem's providence, and believing in the divine strength, to get you onto the other side?" Very important.
- 20:31Yeah.
- 20:32That exactly is the battle that we are confronting.
- 20:35Because we don't see Hashem.
- 20:38Because they needed something physical- Absolutely to relate.
- 20:41Absolutely.
- 20:43But I hold onto that light.
- 20:46I hold onto that energy, God's not tangible.
- 20:51But it's the energy of God, and the light of God.
- 20:56I'm more in the body energy, not in the godly energy.
- 21:00Correct.
- 21:00That, and this is what they define in the sun.
- 21:02You have to to connect your human consciousness- Yes with divine consciousness.
- 21:08It has to be a alignment between both consciousness, human and divine.
- 21:15How we can get to that?
- 21:17By knowing Hashem.
- 21:20How we know Hashem?
- 21:21By learning Torah, by opening ourself.
- 21:27Like a, a little innocent child love Hashem.
- 21:30So how I love Hashem by learning, by seeing the beauty that is around me and feeling appreciation of that beauty.
- 21:41But instead of focusing in negativity, I am focusing in what I have.
- 21:48A house.
- 21:49I have everything.
- 21:50God gave me the possibility to get married.
- 21:54He gave me children.
- 21:55So all this thing, He gave me sustenance.
- 21:58The sustenance doesn't depend of my cleverness, doesn't depend of my bright, or of my intelligence.
- 22:06It only depends on the love that Hashem wants for me.
- 22:10Because There is two ways we can go from one area to the other, and back.
- 22:18It is two ways.
- 22:22When Hashem give us something, we also give back.
- 22:27This gratification and this connection with Hashem is the key of everything.
- 22:34I work six days of the week.
- 22:35So Saturday is my day of shopping.
- 22:38It is my day of going outside.
- 22:41You are focusing your mind only in your own self-satisfaction.
- 22:49In your own self desires.
- 22:52And that represent the yetzer hara.
- 22:56It is not that the body is bad.
- 22:58No.
- 22:58The body is very important.
- 23:01We have to take care of the body in every aspect.
- 23:05Because if I don't take care of my body, my brain is not going to function clearly.
- 23:11Inflammation that I have throughout my body it happen also in the neurons, in the brain.
- 23:18Inflammation, and that inflammation can be corrected by the food that I am eating, by doing exercise.
- 23:27Because when I do exercise also, I, change my emotion, by listening to a happy music, by alacrity.
- 23:37Correct?
- 23:37That will be the difference, To change my perspective.
- 23:41So when I take responsibility.
- 23:44I take consciousness of what is happening, and I stop crying like a little baby and thinking that I am a victim of the world.
- 23:56To the contrary, I am not a victim.
- 23:59I am not dependent of the world.
- 24:02I I am one of the tools of Hashem to transform the world in a world of peace.
- 24:09You said the word shalom.
- 24:11Shalom means completeness, wholeness.
- 24:14I am whole.
- 24:15I am in harmony between my spiritual being and my physical being.
- 24:22I I let my soul to express itself.
- 24:27I am not constricting my soul.
- 24:30It, I make that the body will be illuminated by the soul.
- 24:36And I feel that connection, and that is what creates this peace.
- 24:43That even if I am vulnerable, I am in control of my selfish desire.
- 24:48because when I am vulnerable, I know my weaknesses.
- 24:53But in this vulnerability, I have the strength.
- 24:58So when I believe in God providence Hashem is with me.
- 25:04And Hashem constantly is with us this is His purpose.
- 25:08He doesn't send us to war to lose the war.
- 25:13He send us to war in order to have a victory.
- 25:15Hasidut says something very important.
- 25:18When we have darkness in our life, the darkness give us the light.
- 25:26That is something incredible.
- 25:28The darkness is a moment.
- 25:31If you are, for example, comfortable in your life, and you have everything that you need, you don't have any worries.
- 25:39You don't strengthen your immune system, your spiritual immune system, because nothing happen.
- 25:46Nothing happen in your life.
- 25:47But when something happen in your life, then is the moment of reflection, is the moment when you are connecting to yourself, oh, why these things are happening?
- 25:59Not because I am a victim, but I am the source, to materialize Hashem's light My action, is very valuable.
- 26:10I am a representative of Hashem in this world.
- 26:17I am not a passive, person.
- 26:20I am an active person.
- 26:23When you are active and you take action, then you have the possibility to solve every situation that we face there's so much information that you've given us with it.
- 26:36Yeah.
- 26:36What's the message?
- 26:38Like I talk about, 34 is all about changing your mindset and everything like that.
- 26:43What would 35- The message is to see in our life, the goodness of Hashem, and to transform, and to know that those, battles that we are confronting are not in order to put our down.
- 27:02It's to the contrary, to elevate ourself.
- 27:06And how we elevate ourself?
- 27:08By connecting with Hashem, but aligning with His consciousness.
- 27:14That is the way that we get that strength.
- 27:18We receive that strength.
- 27:21And when we pray with all the devotion, and we experience.
- 27:26Everything is an experience.
- 27:28What I will keep in my memory forever, it will be an experience.
- 27:35And so that experience, that is a negative experience, we need to transform in a positive experience.
- 27:43And how I transform that- Okay, so that's the message.
- 27:45You're transforming a negative message into a positive.
- 27:49So you're taking the darkness and turning it into light, is what you're doing.
- 27:53Exactly.
- 27:53You- Okay what is the darkness here?
- 27:55The battle that we confront daily.
- 27:57Very good.
- 27:58Yeah, thank you.
- 27:59Okay.
- 28:00Dr.
- 28:00Yun?
- 28:03Yeah.
- 28:03This, really teaches us a deep lesson and then also, it applies to our daily life.
- 28:11So I was thinking about the internal salvation that you mentioned.
- 28:17We have all these struggles and challenges in our life.
- 28:20And, a lot of times we think,"Well, if I don't have this situation, I will achieve peace or, life might be better." But circumstances, don't change.
- 28:36When there are struggles and challenges still present, and easier s- still we, keep our own mind and, stay our mind in a state of a peace and completeness, like shalom and shalem.
- 28:53I think it goes back to, the Torah, like this week, when we surrender, like Betul and also Bichahon, And, we just have trust to follow Hashem's, way and walk with him.
- 29:13And like when Jacob confronts Esau and when he says...
- 29:19when Esau says,"I have a lot," but Jacob says,"I have everything." Yes, exactly.
- 29:23And Joseph was saying,"God sent me.
- 29:27You did what you did, but it's God who sent me here in Egypt." So we don't give the struggle circumstances, struggling circumstance ownership, but this is Hashem's world.
- 29:41Hashem is conducting all this.
- 29:44So it's...
- 29:44We see as imperfect world, but it is perfect itself and we are part of their...
- 29:52We're playing our role and as a vessel, and Hashem puts that kind of situation to repair.
- 30:00It...
- 30:01Not to judge, but to repair.
- 30:04So going back to just complete trust in Hashem and knowing Hashem, by bitul, it's like almost, gives me picture of like a Amidah prayer.
- 30:20Like, when things are struggling and there is challenges, I step back three times and let Hashem take over.
- 30:28Yes.
- 30:28Hashem, you did what I did, and, Hashem, please do your part.
- 30:34It doesn't mean that we're not doing anything and just looking.
- 30:38Our struggling is also part of Hashem's plan.
- 30:43It's...
- 30:43So that's why I feel like it's imperfect, but that imperfection is perfect.
- 30:50So I think that way we have everything, and I trust in Hashem, I'm still in peace.
- 30:59The circumstance hasn't changed, but I'm still in peace because Hashem runs and I do my part.
- 31:06And I think that gives me feeling of peace and complete in this.
- 31:12Yeah.
- 31:13So it goes back to your discussion with Julie.
- 31:16Yeah.
- 31:16Thank you.
- 31:17Beautiful.
- 31:18Beautiful.
- 31:18Yes.
- 31:18Yes, I like it very much.
- 31:20Hannah, my dear Hannah.
- 31:23It was beautiful, Yon.
- 31:24I'm just gonna say here,'cause it's already been said beautifully by, by everybody and especially what you added, Yon.
- 31:33but I just wanna share that the how I felt as I was reading the psalm.
- 31:39It's a very it's not a comfortable, it's very disrupting to read it- at first, right?
- 31:45It's, dark.
- 31:46It's just so you go on and on, and just by, I think verse 23, like verse 20, 22.
- 31:57verse 22, he starts, is the transformation.
- 32:00I mean- the circumstances have not changed- but he is, the bitahon is coming to him.
- 32:08So Yes witness here the whole process.
- 32:11And it ends up with on, by the 28, like strength and the ultimate emunah there.
- 32:18I love it.
- 32:18I have goosebumps right now, by the way.
- 32:21So it's just, beautiful.
- 32:22I just wanna add that.
- 32:23And then please give Amy the word, whenever possible because she said she's stuck with it.
- 32:30And I want, I would like to understand why she feels that way.
- 32:34Amy, and, Ah, okay and I think you didn't hear.
- 32:37and she was saying that she was stuck with this, struggling.
- 32:40She was struggling.
- 32:41That was the word, Oh with the psalm.
- 32:43Okay.
- 32:44Yes, yes.
- 32:44I wanna transform from being the victim into being the creator.
- 32:49When we have the sense of being a victim, that we're r- we have I was gonna say, responsibility or control of our own lives.
- 32:56Where I was saying that I struggle is I always think of the people in World War II who were being marched to the gas chambers reciting psalms with complete faith in God.
- 33:08Able to stay in a positive space under, in, in the most horrific circumstances that I can imagine.
- 33:16And I think to myself, could I do that?
- 33:19That's where the struggle is.
- 33:21Yes.
- 33:22Yes, it's a very painful of our story.
- 33:25Yes, is right.
- 33:27And then the only way that I can reconcile that is that we are spiritual beings living a human experience.
- 33:35And that from a larger, beyond this body, spiritual perspective- I do believe it's all love and goodness.
- 33:42And there's parts that we don't understand That's right But, and that we have to practice and work very hard at, I don't know if transform is the right word, transforming our nervous system.
- 33:55'Cause our nervous system, our autonomic nervous system automatically, right, goes into a fight or flight mode to protect ourselves.
- 34:03And we have to work at transforming that because most of the time the, there's nothing attacking us right in front of us.
- 34:10But we are living in a world now that it feels like we're going back to World War II kind of stuff.
- 34:15I do find it very challenging to try to bring themself back into the spiritual.
- 34:21That's the challenge.
- 34:22Very good.
- 34:23Very good.
- 34:23Yes.
- 34:24You are saying what it is.
- 34:25It's correct.
- 34:27If you are asking me why, there is no answer.
- 34:31I cannot, Yeah give an answer.
- 34:33But, what is true after all the suffering of the, Nazis what they did to us, it is un- unimaginable.
- 34:46But from there came out the State of Israel, we need to, wake up.
- 34:55Sometimes we need someone to hit us in order that we wake up.
- 35:01So that is what is happening today.
- 35:04I see even today in Israel after soldiers that were safe, they finish their service in the army.
- 35:14I am very surprised that they, instead of being close to Hashem, they are separating themself.
- 35:23They don't want to follow the words of Hashem.
- 35:29It's very sad.
- 35:30I don't know why the mind, the human mind is always rebellious.
- 35:36So there is some that they return and but others that they became even, after the Second World War, they became completely detached.
- 35:48They didn't want to have anything to do with their Jewisness, even denied it that are part of the vulnerability or the weakness, better is the world weakness of the human being.
- 36:02Renee.
- 36:04Well, I'm sorry I missed your talk, so I'm glad for the recording.
- 36:08I'm just enjoying listening to everyone.
- 36:10I think there's some amazing points made this morning that resonated with me.
- 36:16That actually made sense that their souls were connected to Hashem and maybe He wanted them back.
- 36:24So if you, outside the physical body it makes, there's maybe some sense to it.
- 36:30And Yun, when you talked about...
- 36:32You made a very good point.
- 36:33Now I'm forgetting what it was.
- 36:35But, oh, that this is a perfect world, we just don't see it.
- 36:39We have our struggles.
- 36:41And as I go through different struggles, sometimes daily, whatever, over time, I have to continue to remind myself of this class and the hidden meanings and the spiritual meanings and the connection to Hashem,'cause sometimes I too get sucked into the emotion and sadness and anger of the situation.
- 37:04So I think you all made very good points on that this morning.
- 37:08So thank you.
- 37:09Thank you.
- 37:10Thank you.
- 37:11Natalie.
- 37:12I, there were three things that, came out for me this morning.
- 37:16I hadn't thought about the difference between, active prayer and passive prayer.
- 37:22And, that was really meaningful.
- 37:24I just was thinking about how we go to schul.
- 37:27I, I go every Saturday.
- 37:29And I don't necessarily, because I don't read the prayers in English, and even when I do read it, I think I...
- 37:34Part of the reason I don't read them in English is because they don't really have...
- 37:39i don't grasp them anyway.
- 37:42But just the thought of, when you're in schul or when you're saying your prayers throughout the day, the, the different things that we do, to think about, that it's active, that it's actually a time of connecting with Hashem, not just going through the motions of doing, standing there and saying the Shemoneh Esrei and not, not really knowing what you're saying.
- 38:03But there is the active...
- 38:05It's the, the connection I think that, that is, that's important and it...
- 38:10And to think more about it as being an active part of my day.
- 38:16I also really liked when you talked about the difference between the, the soft voice of Hashem and the loud voice of our, of telling us, not to, of our, our bad angels.
- 38:30And I struggle with that a lot.
- 38:32So that was meaningful.
- 38:34And then the other thing that was very meaningful was putting things, just putting it into perspective, talking about the importance of we all wanna do good, and we're always doing good, and I don't know that it always bothers me when I do good that I, that, it's not acknowledged.
- 38:49But I hadn't thought about it really in terms of, when I'm doing good, it is being acknowledged, it's just being acknowledged by Hashem, which is so much more important than having it be acknowledged by somebody who's not appreciative or whatever.
- 39:04So this was...
- 39:05I also just wanted to comment that I really like the way you did the class this morning.
- 39:10The fact that pulled it all together in such a meaningful way, rather than doing sentence by sentence, which is also, which I've also liked, but this was...
- 39:19i really liked this a lot, so thank you.
- 39:22Thank you.
- 39:23Okay.
- 39:24Very good.
- 39:25I really, I don't know who is ALK.
- 39:28Is Emmy?
- 39:30Yes.
- 39:30Ah.
- 39:30Emmy.
- 39:31I, please, Emmy, would like to hear from you.
- 39:33You are silent.
- 39:35I'm silent.
- 39:36I'm in a public place right now.
- 39:38But I could turn on my video.
- 39:40Ah.
- 39:40Okay, can you see me okay?
- 39:41Yes, I see you.
- 39:43Nice to- All right.
- 39:44I think it was Hannah that mentioned the word transform, that we must transform ourselves from, earthly li- life to spiritual life.
- 39:54And one of the, another way of looking at this that has helped me a lot is when once years ago Rabbi Elush spoke about, flipping a switch.
- 40:07When you go into a room it's turn a light.
- 40:10You flip the light on.
- 40:12And if you think of it as less of a transformation and more of something already in your heart and soul, and just needs to be accessed by flipping the light, the light switch.
- 40:27And Something that helped me a lot- to understand that it's not hard because we all have the spiritual Hashem divine, however you wanna call it, in our hearts and souls.
- 40:43and it's just about walking into another room of our brain and saying,"Okay, I'm not going to allow negativity to pass through me.
- 40:54I just am gonna flip the switch." And for many times, it's worked real well for me.
- 41:00Now, it, I think it also depends on how deep you are into the negativity or the depression.
- 41:07but I think it's worth trying.
- 41:09N- no matter what level of sadness or depression you might be in, that, that try just flipping the light.
- 41:16It could be easier than we're led to believe.
- 41:20Or, and I'm not saying it works all the time, but it helps me a lot to think of it in that structure or that frame of mind.
- 41:31Very good.
- 41:32Very good.
- 41:32Yes, exactly.
- 41:33So we, this is what we have to do, to switch, our switch, a difference instead of And that will be to switch to the yeser tov, to the good- Exactly inclination, and to- Exactly and to, many times, we, it's very hard to, silent our mind.
- 41:58It's impossible.
- 41:59We have a mind that is rushing.
- 42:01Even when you read a book, you are reading and you are thinking something else, and a, another thought.
- 42:06it's like something, one after the other.
- 42:09So what we have to do is to pause and think.
- 42:15This is, this is- Yes, pause.
- 42:16Yes this is the one of the teaching, and it's a, i- teaching for life.
- 42:22When I am confronting a, a problem, I have to pause and let things go.
- 42:30Relieve your anxiety, relieve your fears, and be there.
- 42:36Be present in that moment, in that solution, with a very positive attitude.
- 42:42When you have that, everything open.
- 42:45It's like open, your mind is more intelligent.
- 42:48Everything is better.
- 42:49And that is the solution'cause this is the message I would say, again, from this Psalm.
- 42:54Despite of all the Darkness or the negativity or the enemies that we have in life, our own or external, we have to overcome this with a smile in our face say, and open our hands and say,"Hashem, you are my providence, and who is like you?
- 43:18There is no one." Mi kamocha bei limadonai, mi kamocha nedar bakodesh norate ilo tosefeli.
- 43:25This is a, one of the sentences that we say, before the Amida.
- 43:31But is one of the sentences that means that it brings the, the goodness, the lights of Hashem towards us.
- 43:39And this is the message in all my talks.
- 43:43I want to bring over positivity.
- 43:46To be positive in life, to give love in life, to share in life.
- 43:52Because when I share, and I share in a sincere way without thinking to have any gratification, any recognition, any retribution from the world, I am here because this is my message.
- 44:05This is the message of Hashem.
- 44:06Not always I do that, but I try.
- 44:11Is thank you.
- 44:12Thank you, Amy.
- 44:13That is very nice.
- 44:14Thank you.
- 44:14One more thing.
- 44:15Yes.
- 44:15One more thing I'd like to add.
- 44:17Mm.
- 44:17When you do the pause, shortly thereafter I'm wondering if anybody's hearing me.
- 44:23Shortly thereafter is to take the breath, to inhale, to hold, to count- Mm one, two, three- Mm and to exhale very, very slowly.
- 44:33And I think- Mm-hmm the combination of what you said, just pause, force yourself to pause or just immediately say,"There's a light that needs to come on in my head and in my mindset," and then do the breathing.
- 44:45Exactly.
- 44:45And then that's it.
- 44:46I'm not saying multiple breaths.
- 44:48I'm saying just one breath sometimes can flip the light switch.
- 44:52Exactly.
- 44:53Exactly.
- 44:53Excellent.
- 44:54Excellent.
- 44:55Okay.
- 44:56let's go to the meditation.
- 44:57Mm.
- 44:58So the meditation that pop up in my mind, is to use this sentence that says,"The Lord will give a strength to the, His people, Israel." So the, despite any difficulties that we can confront Have bitachon and a complete trust into Hashem, b- trust and faith in Hashem, because the Lord is the one that give me my strength.
- 45:28And the proof of that is when there is no life, when you have a dead body, there is, is not life because the soul depart the body.
- 45:43So what that shows me very clearly that what give me my movement and my life is my soul, the soul.
- 45:54And what is the soul?
- 45:56The soul is a emanation that comes- from Hashem.
- 46:01He is the one that give life to existing, give life to everything that exists in the world.
- 46:08So when we say Adonai oz le'amo yiten Adonai yevarech et amo v'shalom, this is how it finish.
- 46:15Adonai oz le'amo yiten.
- 46:18God, Yud Kei Vav Kei, give to his people, amo, his people, oz, is a strength, to his peoples Israel, and he bless us, and we bless Hashem too.
- 46:33What is blessing, the word baruch, that is means blessing, is to draw light down here in the physical world.
- 46:42That is the meaning of a blessing.
- 46:45That is the meaning of the word baruch.
- 46:47Baruch also open the gates, open the locks, open everything.
- 46:54And that bring when all the locks are open and our gates are open, and our mind is open, and everything is open, my heart, everything is there, then we are the right vessels.
- 47:09The problem is that we block the light to come in.
- 47:13We create a surface that makes like the clouds in the sky, you say the gr- gray clouds that doesn't allow the sun rays to be seen in the world.
- 47:29We close our eyes, we breathe Lipos When we pause, we breathe, we inhale all the light of Hashem, and we exhale everything that make us feel I- in a way of pain and suffering, and we release our bodies.
- 47:58We feel open.
- 48:01This feeling of openness is what we want to bring in this meditation.
- 48:08We bring holiness into our body, and we exhale all the negativity that we can hold inside.
- 48:21Then we see ourself in the center of a Magen David, and we are a column of white light, a pure, beautiful white light, and we are there protected by the shield of David, by a Magen David.
- 48:42In front of us appear another Magen David, and in this Magen David, there is a sentence,"Adonai Oz La'amito, Adonai Yevarech Et Amo Bashalom." The Lord will give a strength to his people, and will give us a world of peace, of Shalom.
- 49:07We receive that.
- 49:09We enter and enter first of all, this light goes to our brain, to each of us in every place where we are located And then descend into our heart and brings this kind of, of love, of kindness inside our chest, in our heart.
- 49:37Then descend to our liver that spread all this energy into every organ of our body.
- 49:48Then this energy, this light return to our heart, and now there is a movement between heart and brain.
- 49:58Heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain.
- 50:04The light intensify so, so much that we cannot contain in this body that we c- have, and we need to share.
- 50:16We need to spread.
- 50:17We need to connect.
- 50:20So then we are connecting our hands, all of us, that we are in this meditation, and we feel the warmth and the energy of Amy, the energy of Jula- Julie, the energy of Natalie, the energy of Hannah, the energy of Renee, the energy of Emunatova.
- 50:42All of us, we are connecting in one, because everything is one.
- 50:48We represent the unity and the love of Hakadosh, Baruch Hu, of Hashem.
- 50:56And now we have this connection, and this share needs to go to the whole world.
- 51:04And we have three witnesses.
- 51:07That is Malach Metatron, Malach Sandalphon, and Moshiach.
- 51:11And those three spiritual forces are the witnesses of our connection.
- 51:19And we bring this light to the whole world, to Europe that is burning, to Israel that is in concerned, We want to diminish the idea of hates that the Iranian people has, the, these fanatics, the Hamas, the left, Also, in Europe we have so many, negativity and they, and penetration of the, fanatic Islamist.
- 51:57And we want to bring peace to the world, to bring peace and create the right vessel for Moshiah to come down here and reveal himself and bring the light and healing and health to the whole world.
- 52:21We thanks Hashem for this opportunity.
- 52:24I thank you for being there, and I keep silence, and now I leave you in your own thoughts in your own vision.
- 52:37Thank you
