- 2:49In local news.
- 2:51Theo Epstein has returned to the Red Sox as a senior advisor to Fenway Sports Group and
- 2:57part owner, albeit in a part time remote capacity from his Connecticut home.
- 3:04This role marks a shift from his intensive full time engagement as Boston's general
- 3:09manager from 2003 to 2011.
- 3:14Epstein's focus is currently on the 20th anniversary of the 2004 championship team
- 3:19he built, which famously ended the curse of the Bambino.
- 3:24In his new advisory position, Epstein will leverage his broadened sports management experience
- 3:30to contribute to the Red Sox and other Fenway Sports Group properties.
- 3:35He aims to reintegrate effective communication and processes within the Red Sox, drawing
- 3:41from his varied experiences, including his time in Chicago, focusing on sports only private
- 3:47equity.
- 3:49Epstein expresses optimism about the Red Sox strong start to the season and the potential
- 3:55for an effective pitching rotation under the guidance of Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow.
- 4:01Personally, I think Epstein is back to help the Fenway Sports Group sell the Boston Red
- 4:07Sox for top dollar, something just about everyone in Boston is totally in favor of.
- 4:19Now on to sports.
- 4:21Jarrett Cole, the New York Yankees ace, expressed his frustration with the recent discourse
- 4:26on the increase in pitcher injuries, particularly those related to the elbow.
- 4:32Returning from nerve inflammation in his elbow, Cole is disheartened by the lack of cooperation
- 4:38between Major League Baseball and the Players Association in addressing this surge.
- 4:44He criticized the quick dismissal of concerns regarding the pitch clock's impact on injuries,
- 4:51and he's suggesting a more comprehensive examination of various factors affecting pitcher
- 4:56health, including changes in game rules, training protocols, and the push for more velocity
- 5:02and spin without the help of sticky foreign substances.
- 5:07Cole calls for a unified effort to prioritize and safeguard player health amidst a significant
- 5:14uptick in arm injuries across the league.
- 5:19In local sports.
- 5:21Tonight, the Celtics are on the road in Milwaukee to take on the Bucks, and the Bruins are at
- 5:27home to skate with the Hurricanes.
- 5:30It's finally here.
- 5:33This afternoon, it's the Sox home opener against the Orioles.
- 5:38Pre-game ceremonies start just after two, when they'll honor the late Tin Wakefield
- 5:43and the 20th anniversary of the 2004 World Series.
- 5:48It's going to be a great day to be at the ballpark, with bittersweet moments for sure.
- 5:54But let's not be sad for the loss of our friend, the great knuckleballer Mr. Wakefield.
- 6:00Let's cherish the memories and say thank you to a great competitor for giving us so
- 6:06many amazing moments, which will live in the spirit of Fenway Park for all time.
- 6:13Thank you, Tim.

- 9:37Let's talk science.
- 9:40Starting in your 40s, making healthy lifestyle choices becomes crucial to combating dementia
- 9:45and cognitive decline later in life.
- 9:49Researchers emphasize the importance of regular exercise, adequate sleep, and engaging in
- 9:54activities that stimulate your brain.
- 9:57These steps not only maintain cognitive function but also support heart health, which is closely
- 10:03linked to brain health.
- 10:06Conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity, if managed properly, can further
- 10:12reduce the risk of dementia.
- 10:15Social and mental engagement, alongside a nutritious diet and physical activity, are
- 10:20key components for sustaining brain health as you age.
- 10:25And in entertainment news.
- 10:30Well ladies and gentlemen, we have a new bingeable show on Netflix, and I can personally confirm
- 10:36it's a good one.
- 10:38The Gentleman, Guy Ritchie's latest hit series, has taken Netflix by storm, amassing 44 million
- 10:45views in just a few weeks.
- 10:47Netflix is already in discussions for a second season, eager to reunite the star-studded
- 10:52cast, including Theo James from White Lotus, Kaya Scodilario, and Ray Winstone.
- 11:00Although there are challenges, such as scheduling conflicts and securing Ritchie for the sequel,
- 11:05the platform is optimistic given this show's success.
- 11:10This series, a fresh take on Ritchie's 2019 film, delves into the British underworld with
- 11:15a new cast, and has quickly become one of Netflix's biggest hits of the year.
- 11:20Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
- 11:26And today, our quote comes from the great filmmaker Guy Ritchie.
- 11:30If you don't own something, you're not the boss.
- 11:35You have to take full responsibility for everything that you do.
- 11:39Why be subservient?
- 11:41You must be the master of your own kingdom.
- 11:44You have to take possession of your life.
- 11:48There's a world out there trying to tell you who you are, and there's a world in here that's
- 11:53trying to tell you who you are.
- 11:55Now where do you want to put your eggs?
- 11:57Because the world outside is very noisy and very tempting, and has all the rasmut as,
- 12:02as all the tinsel and all the glitter.
- 12:06It's got all the toys.
- 12:08And that's because you don't think you're enough in the first place.
- 12:11So the world will try and tell you who you are, and you have to tell yourself who you
- 12:15are.
- 12:16And there's this ongoing battle, and somehow there needs to be a reconciliation between
- 12:20the two.
- 12:21But in the end, you've got to have all the eggs in your basket.
- 12:26And that's a wrap for this morning.
- 12:28You can check out our Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for some captivating aerial videos
- 12:35with local news and the weather reports.
- 12:38Have an amazing day, my good friends.
